- 0:04OK, I guess we're ready to get started.
- 0:07We're all here that are going to be here for the study tonight.
- 0:11Dan is on a hiatus. Somewhere could be here.
- 0:15So we are going to do it ourselves.
- 0:17I want to welcome you to the weekly Bible Study webinar where
- 0:20we inspect God's Word and we let it transform our lives as the
- 0:23truth does when we look at it. For the next hour, like always,
- 0:27we're going to go through the book of Hebrews.
- 0:30We've been working on that for a three quarter year now and we're
- 0:35getting there, but it's been an interesting walk.
- 0:39As always, you're welcome to submit in the chat or raise your
- 0:45hand electronically and comment or question.
- 0:49Challenge us, if you would, on what we're saying or whatever,
- 0:53or what the word says or any kind of dialogue would be
- 0:56welcome. We are streaming this to
- 0:58Facebook or YouTube. It's always also producing a
- 1:01podcast. You're welcome to look those up.
- 1:03The links to all those are at Simply Christ Ministries.
- 1:07You could Google that and see all the links to it or go to
- 1:10wherever you stream your podcasts and find it there.
- 1:16All right, tonight we're going to go through Hebrews.
- 1:19We are in chapter 10 and we are going to start in verse 11 and
- 1:26we're going to see what God has for us today.
- 1:30Let's see. I would ask Eric Keith maybe to
- 1:32open us up with a word of prayer.
- 1:36Our most holy and righteous Father, we are thankful again
- 1:39for Your word, and you know that the power is in your word and in
- 1:45believing it. And just pray that we would
- 1:48maybe put the preconceived notions that we have out of our
- 1:53mind and be able to just listen to what it has to say and clear
- 1:57mind of those things we think it says and just hear what it
- 2:00actually says to us. And just pray that you guide us
- 2:04in that. Pray that the Spirit would
- 2:06reveal the truths clearly to us and not be able to say something
- 2:09that would encourage each other. And those that would be
- 2:14listening or seeing this, just ask your blessing on our efforts
- 2:20to do that. And our efforts to preach your
- 2:23Son's name just as Father, that you'd help us to not, not get
- 2:30tangled in our own thoughts or our own desires of what we
- 2:36wanted to say, but that we would say it clearly, and that we
- 2:40would be led by your spear. All these things vast in
- 2:42Christ's precious name all. Right, verse 11, Hebrews 10,
- 2:52verse 11 and every priest stand the daily ministry and offering
- 2:56oftentimes the same sacrifices which can never take away sins.
- 3:02Now, if you've been following along here, you will notice that
- 3:06this is not the first time that we've talked about this
- 3:09particular subject. And we've talked about before
- 3:12about how often that Hebrews, the writer reiterates the same
- 3:18concept as we go along here. So this is another time where
- 3:22he's finishing this out. But I do just want to touch to
- 3:26get a running start on us a little bit here before I turn it
- 3:29over to Aaron. Last week we talked a lot about
- 3:34being sanctified of what that process, if you can call it that
- 3:38is. We were saying it's it's not a
- 3:40process. It's either you're set a fart
- 3:43for a special purpose or you're not.
- 3:45And so we know that being sanctified just simply needs to
- 3:50be set apart. And we really focused, rightly
- 3:53so, on the end of verse 10 where it says we're sanctified through
- 3:57the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
- 4:01And I just wanted to mention I was thinking about that this
- 4:04afternoon after I listened to our last week's podcast.
- 4:09And you know, there when we are sanctified, when we are set
- 4:13apart, that is instantaneous. That happens the moment you
- 4:16believe, OK. But then there is a period of
- 4:21time that we spend learning. There's a lot of stuff that I
- 4:24learned about God, about Christ, about about being set apart,
- 4:29about living that way, about associating with our brothers
- 4:33and our sisters and our our workers and that kind of thing
- 4:37that I didn't know before. So there's a lot of learning
- 4:40that goes on after that. You are saved.
- 4:43But that is the wrong word. It's not sanctified.
- 4:46You're not getting sanctified. It's actually the wrong use of
- 4:51the word sanctified to use that word in that regard.
- 4:53But so I just wanted to clear that up.
- 4:56We, we do learn an awful lot if we give ourselves to the word.
- 5:02The Holy Spirit makes things alive to us.
- 5:05I, I love being in that living as a Christian for the last, you
- 5:10know, 10 years or almost and what God does in your life.
- 5:14It's amazing. So anyway, all that to say, we
- 5:18are again in verse 11 now talking about how that the
- 5:25sacrifices that the priest did daily cannot take our sins away.
- 5:29Is there anything else that you'd want to add to that in
- 5:32this context here? Yeah, I mean, I think he did a
- 5:36good job talking about the sanctified, but I I never, I'll
- 5:40never forget. I heard Mike Pearl say it this
- 5:44way. He was, he was saying that these
- 5:47priests were just painting a picture like, you know, he's a
- 5:50painter and and it's true. It's it's like they were
- 5:54standing up there every day and saying it by their actions and
- 5:59by what they did. That blood has to be shed for
- 6:03sins. Rather painting the picture of
- 6:05blood being shed for sins, blood being shed for sins.
- 6:08That's that sins actually require the innocent to die.
- 6:13Like they're the painting that picture over and over again.
- 6:16And, and it's funny, it's like we just said that he repeats
- 6:21this over and over again to us. And now he's saying they already
- 6:25painted the picture over and over again to you, right?
- 6:28Like you all should recognize this.
- 6:29They painted that picture every day almost that they were
- 6:33shedding that blood. So it says every priest standing
- 6:36daily. Like.
- 6:37They were doing some kind of ministering daily and offering
- 6:41oftentimes the same sacrifice, which can never take away sin.
- 6:46So again, I just want to kind of calm contrast that it's there's
- 6:51a difference in painting a picture and accomplishing an
- 6:55action, right? And that's what he basically
- 6:58says is what they did never actually paid the price percent.
- 7:02And this is, I don't want to necessarily go down this rabbit
- 7:05hole, but it's I just preached on this yesterday, that that's
- 7:11why all those souls were held captive in either paradise or in
- 7:19hell itself, there in the center of the earth.
- 7:21They're held captive because this didn't work, right?
- 7:24The reason Jesus could lead captivity captive is because he
- 7:28finally does. Pay.
- 7:30The price and it works like it's, it actually works then.
- 7:34So up to that point, in other words, the fact that Jesus goes
- 7:38into the grave and preaches to the spirits in prison.
- 7:41That's what the Bible says there.
- 7:43You know, in first Peter, he preaches to the spirits in
- 7:46prison. They are in prison because what
- 7:49they did under the law could never take away sin.
- 7:53And like I said, I'm, I know it's kind of a rabbit hole, but
- 7:55I just kind of wanted to make that point with it.
- 7:57That's the reason they're still there is because it didn't work.
- 8:01Right. So they still had to hear the
- 8:03gospel and and believe that in order to be actually saved and
- 8:06go with Jesus. Well, and I, I mean, that's
- 8:09true. I, I don't disagree with that,
- 8:11but I, I was really just making the point that it proves that it
- 8:14didn't, that what they did didn't work and what Christ did
- 8:17did work. You know what I mean?
- 8:19Like other words, they're held captive because a legal payment
- 8:23has not yet been made for their sins.
- 8:26Yep, Amen. Yeah, I, it was just looking
- 8:31here. So he said in verse 10 that we
- 8:36are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus
- 8:40Christ once and for all. And then it, it seems like he's
- 8:45kind of describing in the next 3 verses what that looks like or
- 8:49how that happened, right. And so I know you just read the
- 8:53one verse that I'll just concentrate on now, but that's
- 8:57kind of what it looks like to me.
- 8:58Like he is describing what that sanctification through Christ,
- 9:04through the offering of Christ is and, and what it was because
- 9:09he says that every priest standard ministry, dealing,
- 9:12offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, right?
- 9:16They would do the same. You know, think about it when
- 9:19when I don't, you get tired of the mundane things in life,
- 9:24right? I mean, for me, it's like, you
- 9:27know, over and over, like you just have to do this over and
- 9:30over your whatever it may be. Maybe maybe it's getting up for
- 9:34work every day or whatever it is that and that's how this was for
- 9:39sacrificing for their sins. It is like it was like just a
- 9:42mundane thing that had to be done.
- 9:46The same thing, the same thing over and there's no how would
- 9:50you say there's no freedom in that?
- 9:52There's no hope in that, so to speak.
- 9:56It's like, OK, so we did it. Now we're going to have to do it
- 9:58again. He's telling us here that Christ
- 10:02did it once, once and we don't need to worry about doing it
- 10:07again. We don't try to be sanctified
- 10:10again. And and so I don't know what the
- 10:12right word is. You described it good about
- 10:14sanctification and Leon, but so there is and I was trying to
- 10:20think what the biblical term of that would be and maybe somebody
- 10:22could help me out. But for me, it was like after I
- 10:26got saved, I like I there was a growing that happened and I'm I
- 10:32don't know what the biblical word is for that, but.
- 10:34I always use it. Yeah, mature.
- 10:37There you go. That's probably one of the
- 10:39words. Maturity, like there was a
- 10:42maturing that happened. There was something that
- 10:45happened in my life, like I grew, but it wasn't that I got
- 10:49more sanctified, right? The Bible says I am sanctified
- 10:56at the moment that I believe in Christ and that actually Christ
- 10:59ended on the cross and I just need to believe that so.
- 11:04Andrew. So on that topic, I thought it
- 11:07was really good. What what was it?
- 11:09Yunus session at camp? Maybe Moses?
- 11:14Well, I'm not sure who maybe was Aaron, I don't remember, but God
- 11:19realizes that he put us into a place that we can't fully grasp
- 11:26for the rest of our lives. We've been trying to understand
- 11:29and grasp who we really are in Christ.
- 11:31The significance of all the work that he did and he I forget the
- 11:35verse, but it was like, you'll never find it all out.
- 11:39Like it's not that why? So to, for someone to say, yeah,
- 11:44I know where I stand in Christ and what all that means, you're
- 11:49lying like, because God just said you can't.
- 11:51Like, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's so amazing.
- 11:56That's why I said, I think the last time that we're probably
- 12:01butchering this chapter and we think it's really rich.
- 12:03But I mean, what Christ did is something.
- 12:11And the point that he wants us to get is it's no more.
- 12:19Many times like I, I had to think of years ago, we're still
- 12:26Amish and we didn't want to allow any equipment, even for
- 12:30logging. We had to bring our logs over
- 12:34and we had to cross a Creek that was too soft.
- 12:37The horses, we would Dolly and everything would just get stuck.
- 12:41There's no way to get logs across that Creek with the
- 12:44horses except we build a bridge and roll them across.
- 12:50So let's use that for an example.
- 12:53Let's say that the log is our sin problem and it and the
- 13:01bridge is just like we're, we build a bridge, we come well,
- 13:05first maybe we try to get across with the horses and it doesn't
- 13:07make it. So we try something else.
- 13:09We try over and over and over, but with the law it's even
- 13:13worse. They had to do the same
- 13:14sacrifice over and over, but we roll all down the bridge.
- 13:18It breaks. It didn't get over.
- 13:22We got to build it again, try to make it stronger and be more
- 13:26determined, a little more fear of God, a little more
- 13:29understanding. We try to get that law across
- 13:32again, and we get halfway through and the thing breaks
- 13:36again, which is finally we get the bridge made.
- 13:40We find the bridge just right, the strength theory, we get that
- 13:44log across. Once that log is across, we're
- 13:47no longer trying to find a bridge to make the law come
- 13:50across. It's done.
- 13:52Like we're not now going, OK, now let's let's build another
- 13:57bridge or let's keep working on the bridge or let's keep
- 14:01perfecting the bridge. We found the bridge that the log
- 14:05made across. Now let's keep our eyes on the
- 14:08bridge and remember how we made this bridge.
- 14:12But no, the locks across. It's done.
- 14:14Like why are you still trying to figure out how we got the lock
- 14:19across or, or how to keep the log across or how do we keep the
- 14:24lock from rolling back or no, he's over on the other side of
- 14:28the Creek laying there. He's there like he's not moving,
- 14:34like he's not coming back, like the job done, it's over.
- 14:38And that's what he's trying to get us to realize.
- 14:42They said Jesus Christ, unlike the law, made us perfect.
- 14:49The law with all those sacrifices could not make the
- 14:51commerce perfect. That was the only problem.
- 14:55That was a problem. Didn't make him perfect.
- 14:58Now, if I build something like Melvin, if you build a house and
- 15:01it's perfect, you're not going to go home and tell your wife
- 15:05tomorrow I'm going to go pack my tools and I'm just going to go
- 15:10walk around the house and make sure it stays perfect.
- 15:12Or I'm going to like, I'm just going to be there with my tools,
- 15:16you know, just in case. Yeah, No, you're done.
- 15:20You're going to sit down at the dinner table at the right hand.
- 15:27You're going to say, honey, I'm. I finished the project and it's
- 15:30done. And because of that, you're not
- 15:33going back to that job site. You'd be an idiot.
- 15:38Everybody would laugh at you if you would go back to that job
- 15:42site. But that is what we're doing
- 15:44with Christianity all the time. All the time.
- 15:49We're going to a job site, trying to do something and
- 15:53everything's done that. The roof is on, the cutters are
- 15:56there, everything, the landscaping, it's perfected.
- 16:00Everything is just, it's one of those homes you drive by,
- 16:03there's like they overdid it. I mean, it's just, there's
- 16:07nothing lacking. Now, if you see a tree trimming
- 16:12truck coming by and slowing down and you'd be like, no, no, no,
- 16:18don't mess with the trees. Like it's perfect.
- 16:21Or you see a landscaping guy slowing down with some old dirt
- 16:24in the back, like no, no, no, don't, don't mess with this.
- 16:28It's precious, It's beautiful, it's perfect, but we come with
- 16:32our little wheelbarrow and a bunch of our dirt and we ruin
- 16:37this beautiful landscaping, this beautiful home that's perfect.
- 16:42And that's what I see when we come with our own garbage, when
- 16:45we see instead of just seeing the gospel, seeing its
- 16:49perfection and embracing it and believing in this is its grace.
- 16:53That's why God is really brutal in Titus, I think it was where
- 16:57it says, you know, if you're going to do law, well, Kelly,
- 17:03you're you're reprobated every good word.
- 17:05Like if that's God's conclusion for and that's his view of us
- 17:11trying to somehow please him by keeping some laws that somehow
- 17:16that's going to like the the old way that could not make the
- 17:19commerce perfect. Somehow that's going to please
- 17:22him. If we do those services now that
- 17:25we're a believer and he tells us it's a reprobate mind.
- 17:28It's a defile conscience that caused you to do that.
- 17:32If that's how God views it, why do we do it?
- 17:35Why would we do it? It's this, that's how disgusting
- 17:38it is. It's going to apply a perfect
- 17:39home and putting our fingerprints on a perfect piece
- 17:43of concrete before it's dry like a dog running through the
- 17:47concrete that is already dry and not dry yet, but it's perfect.
- 17:52You know a concrete guy, which is yell at you, but we're doing
- 17:55that to Jesus all the time. You know, the the the, the with
- 18:01a lot of fancy speech and much talking.
- 18:04They can get you to think that you're doing it innocently, but
- 18:08was forget what God says. Like somehow I can innocently
- 18:13keep certain parts of the law for my benefit and for the well
- 18:16pleasing of God. But God has such a nasty view of
- 18:19it. Why would we do it?
- 18:21I was thinking today that would be like reading where it says
- 18:25not to fornicate and then go out and say I can pull it off
- 18:32without lusting. I can pull it off without.
- 18:38I can do it innocently. I could do it in a way that
- 18:40pleases the Father. I can fornicate any way the way
- 18:45I do it. Like, yeah, fornication in the
- 18:48way that God's time, yeah, that's bad.
- 18:50But I can do it in a way without lusting.
- 18:53I can look at pornography without lusting.
- 18:55I can do it innocently. That's what I would say to
- 18:58people that say they are somehow still tying in.
- 19:04Well, just know what Hebrews is about is that these people are
- 19:07still trying to bring some old Jewish laws in and he says why
- 19:11are you messing with something that's perfect?
- 19:14And it was done one time. That's right.
- 19:19And to make that analogy, finish that with Melvin, what he's done
- 19:22with his tools, he doesn't just set him down, he sells them.
- 19:27He has. He has known him for those tools
- 19:30ever again because he did the house completely.
- 19:33That's how Jesus did. He sat down.
- 19:35He got rid of all the stuff that he used to make this salvation,
- 19:39if that's even a thing. The mold, The mold.
- 19:42He even threw away the. Mold.
- 19:44Yeah, Amen. All right.
- 19:46And I apologize, I should have read and I was going to, I
- 19:48forgot the first 3 verses there because they're all kind of the
- 19:51same thing. So I'll read to 12 and 13 now
- 19:54and if you want to add anything to it, you can says but this man
- 19:58after he had offered one second sacrifice for sins forever sat
- 20:02down on the right hand of God from henceforth expected till
- 20:06his enemies be made his footstool.
- 20:09There's the rest of the story to verse 11, Aaron, if you want to
- 20:13comment on anything there. Just I mean you all already said
- 20:17it, but I I haven't like highlighted in my Bible the back
- 20:23in Chapter 9 verse 12, it says by his own blood he entered in
- 20:28once in Chapter 9 verse 26, he says, but now once in the end of
- 20:36the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of
- 20:39himself. Verse 28 says so Christ was once
- 20:43offered to bear the sins of many you read in the beginning.
- 20:48Verse 10 says through the offering of the body of Jesus
- 20:51Christ once for all. Verse 12 says 1 sacrifice for
- 20:56sins forever. Verse 14 says for by one
- 20:59offering he hath perfected forever them that are
- 21:02sanctified. So he is nailing that home
- 21:05right. I mean he's he's really pointing
- 21:08out that unlike something because it I guess I'll tie it
- 21:14in this way. We 11 said it could never take
- 21:18away sins. It's not like it's not true that
- 21:22as long as they did it the right amount of times throughout their
- 21:28life, it would work. It just wouldn't work.
- 21:31But what he did, he did one time and it did work, right.
- 21:36I mean, I just like I said, I know that's just another way I
- 21:39said what you already said. But but I do think he's driving
- 21:43that point home that they were doing something that regardless
- 21:47of the number of times they did it, it didn't accomplish
- 21:51anything. He he does something one time
- 21:55and it never has to be done again.
- 21:57You know, like that is the point of all those verses.
- 22:01So yeah, that, that's and then and then I guess to build even
- 22:06further that thought out verse 13 says there's no expectation
- 22:13of having to. Fight.
- 22:16Or I say fight 'cause I just mean he says waiting till his
- 22:21enemies are his foot. So there's nothing he's, he
- 22:25doesn't even have an expectation that he's going to have to go
- 22:27back and add to it, right? You know what I mean?
- 22:31Like it's one sacrifice for sins forever from henceforth.
- 22:36Like as as far as forever, he doesn't have to go back and
- 22:40touch it up as you all said. With the tools or add.
- 22:43To it. It's just done and he's waiting
- 22:47till it's all wrapped up. Just waiting till his enemies
- 22:50are made his footstool. Man.
- 22:53That's right, Melvin. Yeah, that, that's the thing
- 22:56that I was going to point out here is that in 13 there he
- 23:01says, I think this is very powerful.
- 23:03He says from henceforth expecting to his enemies be made
- 23:06his footstool. Jesus, like you said, he's
- 23:09sitting there at the right hand of the Father and he's not
- 23:13expecting to have to do it again, like die on the cross
- 23:17again or add or or take away or anything.
- 23:20It was it was perfect until his enemies made his footstool,
- 23:25starting with, you know, the thousand year reign.
- 23:29And then, you know, the revelation tells us that Jesus
- 23:33is going to rule for 1000 years actually here on this earth.
- 23:36And then it's says the revelations that God is going to
- 23:41lose Satan from the bottomless pit, and then he's going to
- 23:46gather all the nations. And then there's going to be the
- 23:49battle of Armageddon, one last revolt against God and against
- 23:54Jesus, against Jerusalem, and God going to, you know, bring
- 23:58fire down from heaven. And then and then the judgment
- 24:01is going to be, and so Jesus is, and then the great White throne
- 24:05judgment is going to happen. And then there's going to be the
- 24:08new heaven in New York. And then it's going to be we're
- 24:10going to be with him for eternity.
- 24:12And so Jesus is expecting right now at this moment while we're
- 24:16speaking and ever since he has completed what we just were
- 24:22talking about when he died on the calls 2000 some years ago.
- 24:26He's expecting that that's, that's it.
- 24:29He's he's just waiting until the father says, OK, now is the
- 24:34time. So.
- 24:37Andrew. Yeah, I feel like I spent a lot
- 24:41of time on that already with that little analogy and
- 24:44everything. But I would like to.
- 24:47I would just like to say to those that really, I think the
- 24:53reason most people struggle with this type of teaching, which
- 25:01sounds bad because almost sounds like we're teaching something
- 25:06different than what most people teach, but it's just the Bible.
- 25:12I mean, it's not bad, but it's gotten to this, to this, to
- 25:15where you teach the Bible. It's like, oh, they're teaching
- 25:17some weird thing. But where I think you lose
- 25:23people is they're looking at their experience and they're
- 25:26looking at their lives and they're saying, well, if that
- 25:29was true, if that way of taking it, if it was that literal, it
- 25:35was that. If that was the reality, if God
- 25:38actually did that, then I wouldn't, I wouldn't have got
- 25:43angry last night and my flesh wouldn't have rose up and I
- 25:46wouldn't have done all these things.
- 25:48So that can't be true. So I can't believe it.
- 25:51That must be a heresy, which is what everybody would say.
- 25:54And so you can't go with it. The only reason that we still
- 26:00sin and would none of us have an excuse to sin anymore because
- 26:03Jesus is giving us a full victory in himself by destroying
- 26:07our sinful body on the cross. The only reason we still spend
- 26:12is we either forget it, or we don't remember it, or we don't
- 26:17believe it, or and we don't walk in it or we're lacking.
- 26:21We're lacking on the spiritual wisdom, we're lacking spiritual
- 26:23understanding and we're lacking access based on the things that
- 26:29we do that block the spirit. And you know, you can, you can
- 26:33live a lifestyle that is friendly to the Holy Spirit and
- 26:37a lifestyle that makes you just kind of get cold and you just
- 26:42you block out like that's a walk.
- 26:45You can walk in a way that you grow in spiritual wisdom and
- 26:49understanding, and you can walk in a way that you just kind of
- 26:54kind of die spiritually. And I'm bringing that out
- 26:58because he keeps telling us to grow and to ask for wisdom,
- 27:06spiritual wisdom, understanding for what?
- 27:08That we may know what we have in him.
- 27:11Why? So that we can walk in, so that
- 27:15we can walk in. Let's look at the Ephesians here
- 27:22starting verse chapter one, verse 15.
- 27:25Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus
- 27:28and love to all the Saints, cease not give thanks unto you,
- 27:32make a mention of you in my prayers, that the God of our
- 27:36Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the
- 27:39spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him.
- 27:44The eyes of your understanding enlighten that you may know what
- 27:49is what is the hope of his calling and what the riches of
- 27:53the glory of his inheritance and the Saints.
- 27:56And it keeps going on and on. Good stuff wants to know wants
- 28:00us to know where where we're sitting.
- 28:02We're sitting in heavenly places with him and all our spiritual
- 28:05blessings are up there. He wants us to know all these
- 28:07things. And as you keep going through
- 28:10all the like the entire letter of the Ephesians, he's going to
- 28:14bring it to the way that you then walk.
- 28:17You walk in response to what you know about Jesus Christ.
- 28:21And that is why you need to know that there was only one
- 28:24sacrifice and you will walk accordingly.
- 28:27That's why you need to know that there's only one way that you're
- 28:30made perfect and it's through a one time sacrifice of Jesus
- 28:34Christ perfecting you forever. And that changes the way you
- 28:39walk. It changes the way you view God.
- 28:42It changes the way you view sin. It amplifies sin.
- 28:46It makes you realize that a measly confession and like the
- 28:50the sacrifice he's going back over and over was trying to get
- 28:54making an atonement. There's a reason that God was
- 28:57done with all that he's done with all our work and he said
- 29:01I'm going to go to their heart. I'm going to circumcise their
- 29:04heart and that is where every religious person does not want
- 29:08to go. Every lost person does not want
- 29:10to go is for you to point through an evil heart.
- 29:14Put your finger on an evil, selfish, entitled heart that
- 29:19thinks to have it right and that full of pride.
- 29:22We don't want to. We want something.
- 29:25We want an excuse for our lifestyle.
- 29:29We want to justify our sinful lifestyle.
- 29:32Well, it's the old man. Well that made me do it.
- 29:35Well, it was the devil if you had.
- 29:38God wants us to be way above that by and the reason and which
- 29:43is why he wants us to know the hope that we have.
- 29:46He wants us to know the victory that we have.
- 29:48He wants us to know that it's that he brought us a complete
- 29:53victory and covered US 100%. We're completing him.
- 29:57He wants us to know that and it changes the way we walk.
- 30:02Yeah, totally hope to go back to that verse 13 expecting till his
- 30:10enemies be made his foot still the word expecting to be.
- 30:13And I just you guys correct me if I'm wrong here or off at left
- 30:17field somewhere, but that has a the I mean, if you expect
- 30:22something you are you're looking for a result, right?
- 30:26So when I when I give directions to my crew on Monday morning and
- 30:32then I when that's all finished, I we've we've went through it.
- 30:35We made sure everyone understands their assignment.
- 30:37We made sure we know where the jobs are.
- 30:40We made sure everybody's on the right page.
- 30:42OK, Then I go back down and sit at my desk.
- 30:45They leave and I sit there expecting results, you know, is,
- 30:51is this is is that the right the right idea here?
- 30:56God set everything out. He through Jesus Christ gave us
- 31:00this sacrifice that is perfect and righteous and holy and he
- 31:03sits there expecting his this to yield result.
- 31:09In other words, saved people that actually are 100% righteous
- 31:14or whatever that whatever that result would be.
- 31:18Any feedback on that idea? Yeah, I would say the way I when
- 31:22I saw that it's another way of him saying the work is done.
- 31:29I'm sitting down waiting for it to play out and I already know
- 31:33I'm waiting for to destroy evil like Revelation, like I'm I'm
- 31:39waiting for the time frame now the work has been done and I'm
- 31:43going to receive the reward and I'm just here expecting like,
- 31:46you know. So, so the so the method has
- 31:49been set up. Now all we're waiting is for
- 31:51these millions that will eventually choose, be and be
- 31:54redeemed. And then it's going to come out,
- 31:56you know, you know how it's going to happen, Revelation.
- 31:58Like he's going to come out and all his enemies, you know, will
- 32:01be. He mentions the enemies.
- 32:02I hear I can. Oh, yeah.
- 32:05So that's just a matter of time, right?
- 32:08The victory has been won. He's triumphed over all, every
- 32:12principality and power, so it's just now they're expecting and
- 32:16waiting until it comes to fruition.
- 32:20Yeah, it's not like I'll say it in an example like this.
- 32:24He's any, I mean, there might be confident generals that was in a
- 32:31battle or was in a trying to defeat somebody else and they
- 32:35might have a plan that they feel like is inevitable to win, but
- 32:39they're not. They don't have the the ability
- 32:43to set back knowing that victory is sure because they don't know
- 32:46what the other side's going to do.
- 32:49Jesus knows that there is no, there's nothing he can do
- 32:54against this, right? I mean, he's not going to
- 32:56overcome the devil is not going to overcome God.
- 32:59And it's not a let's see if this plan works.
- 33:03It is going to work and he's sat down with all confidence it's
- 33:06going to work. That's good.
- 33:09That's why that passage is significant right here, you see?
- 33:11Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
- 33:14Yeah, so good. Yeah, if you look at other
- 33:17places where that word is used it in the scriptures, it it uses
- 33:22the word waiteth or waiting. So.
- 33:26Yeah, I looked. That up real quick before I said
- 33:28what I said about expecting because I wanted to make sure
- 33:31that it that it has the idea of waiting for results and and
- 33:35that's actually kind of what it what it is.
- 33:37So yeah. I just thought it's not.
- 33:40Hoping it's not hoping, yeah. No, exactly.
- 33:42It's expecting and there's a difference there.
- 33:44The the parameters have been set.
- 33:46Now all we need is some time for people to accept this.
- 33:48Yeah. Yeah, that's right.
- 33:50OK, yeah, that's good stuff. All right, 14 four by one
- 33:54offering hath the perfected forever them that are
- 33:58sanctified. Now we just read that in verse
- 34:0110, didn't we? Listen the other way of saying
- 34:04the same thing. Is there anything you want to
- 34:06touch on that error? The rest?
- 34:07I mean, I, I feel like we've thrashed it out really well,
- 34:10but. Melvin or anything that any
- 34:13anything that you like to. Yeah.
- 34:14No, no, I I think it's something like that.
- 34:16It's just and I I appreciate an author that does that reiterates
- 34:20that point to its to its burned in your mind because of this.
- 34:24This point is important whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness
- 34:30to us for after that he had said before this is the covenant that
- 34:36I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord I
- 34:40will put my laws into their hearts and in their minds will I
- 34:44write them and their sins and iniquities will I remember no
- 34:49more. That's all one big long sentence
- 34:51there that that starts in verse 15.
- 34:56So here is this is a little bit something different that he
- 34:59hasn't touched on much yet, or not real recently anyway.
- 35:02The idea of having the Holy Ghost as a witness to us.
- 35:06But Aaron will have. Well, I hate to go against what
- 35:12you just said, but I feel I actually feel like it's just
- 35:15another way of saying or the thing that I focused on was
- 35:18another way of saying it the same thing we've said.
- 35:22I focus on the end of that. He makes the whole quote, but
- 35:25the end of that verse 17 says and their sins and iniquities
- 35:28will I remember no more, which would relate in my opinion to
- 35:32verse 14. One offering hath he perfected
- 35:35forever them their sanctified and we know from Romans 4 that
- 35:40that's the way imputed righteousness works is God says
- 35:44all right, this person has believed me.
- 35:46I am counting them righteous and their sins and their iniquities,
- 35:51whether it's the past ones or the future ones.
- 35:53I'm not going to remember like I it's it's like we were talking
- 35:57about a little bit beforehand this forget this idea of
- 35:59forgiveness. This is the case in which he
- 36:03says I am going to look at you in a different light.
- 36:07I'm not going to remember who you.
- 36:10Were. Because you are a new creature
- 36:12in Christ. So he this this is a never
- 36:17remembering their sins and their iniquities no more, which again,
- 36:21I guess you could relate that all the way back to when he said
- 36:26back in the beginning of this chapter the about making the
- 36:31sack the sins offerings there year by year.
- 36:35You know, there was a remembrance made.
- 36:37They were being reminded all the time that they needed this
- 36:42bloodshed on their behalf. Right there.
- 36:45He's painting the picture over and over again.
- 36:47Well, once he makes the one offering for sin forever, then
- 36:50God says you don't need to remember that anymore.
- 36:53I'm not going to remember it anymore like at this when this
- 36:56happens. In other words, let's go back to
- 36:59the beginning of it. This is the covenant that I will
- 37:02make with him. In other words, when this new
- 37:04covenant comes into place, then I can say, don't I won't
- 37:10remember your sins anymore. Up to this point, he was
- 37:13remembering then, like right? I mean, he there was a
- 37:16remembrance made again every year.
- 37:19That's what we read earlier in the other chapters.
- 37:22But now this new covenant makes it to where there's sins and
- 37:26their equities, I will remember no more.
- 37:28So like I said, I just, I mean I agree it is a different twist,
- 37:34but I I saw how it also relates back to what was just talking
- 37:37about as well. Yep, I agree with you
- 37:40absolutely. Yeah, it seems like he's saying
- 37:44there. So he's just, he's saying that
- 37:47where are the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us for after that
- 37:52he had said before then he says, you know, this is the covenant
- 37:55that I will make with them. I put the laws in their hearts
- 37:57and in their minds. So he said that back in the Old
- 38:03Testament, right? And so he's saying now that the
- 38:07Holy Ghost was given to us in after Christ died on the cross
- 38:15as a witness to what he was referring to back in the Old
- 38:20Testament about putting the laws in their hearts and in their
- 38:24minds. There's AI like while we in
- 38:30first Peter, I think is is a pretty good scripture.
- 38:35It says searching what? First Peter 1/11/12 It says
- 38:40searching what or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which
- 38:44was in them did signify when it testified beforehand the
- 38:48sufferings of Christ in the glory that should follow.
- 38:50So in other words, the Spirit of Christ actually revealed to many
- 38:56of the Old Testament, you know like David and that prophesied
- 39:01in the Old Testament of what is going to happen.
- 39:06You know, like in Isaiah, for instance, like Isaiah 53, I
- 39:09think it is about the sufferings of Christ that was revealed to
- 39:13Isaiah. And then he says in verse 12
- 39:16unto him it was revealed that not unto themselves, but unto us
- 39:21they do minister of things which are now reported unto you by
- 39:25then that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy
- 39:28Ghost sent out from heaven, which things the angels desire
- 39:32to look into. And so it's just he's showing us
- 39:36that, hey, the Holy Ghost is a witness of this, this Christ
- 39:41coming and, and dying once and we are sanctified.
- 39:46And all this is, is, is witnessed by the Holy Ghost.
- 39:50And it's so, yeah, that's what I see.
- 39:54Yeah, yeah, enter. Yeah, I just, I guess I was also
- 40:00thinking about the fact that he's going to send the comforter
- 40:03afterwards. Which I think is also a witness.
- 40:06I think I believe it's I heard you guys can correct me if I'm
- 40:12wrong, but I think Romans 816 feels with this says that the
- 40:16spirit itself, friends witness our spirit that we are the
- 40:20children of God, God. I think God didn't just leave us
- 40:26even with just a promise to believe.
- 40:28He also gives us a spirit that witnesses to these truths like
- 40:34when you that's why I think, remember how God says that the
- 40:39carnal man can't understand the spiritual things.
- 40:43So it says exactly spirit shows like the spirit, you have to be
- 40:48spiritual mind to be able to see spirit.
- 40:50And also I think there's a verse verses where it says you can't
- 40:53know anything except by the spirit.
- 40:57So it's it's, I think it's very cool that he puts slights that
- 41:04right in there. If you're, if you're having a
- 41:08hard time with this, if you have the spirit and if you get
- 41:12spiritual minded, it'll really connect like you'll this'll,
- 41:15this'll really witness. And what happens is when all of
- 41:19a sudden, let's say someone is reading this and they're not
- 41:22saved. And there's just that they're
- 41:23really struggling with these words.
- 41:26Like what is he saying? This doesn't make any sense at
- 41:28all. And then he reads this and goes
- 41:30the spirit with the Holy Ghost witnesses when he goes like,
- 41:33well, I need the Holy Ghost comes to God against the Holy
- 41:37Ghost. He gets saved and all of a
- 41:38sudden this is just clearance day and he's charged
- 41:42worshipping. And, you know, I think the Bible
- 41:45would come to life when we have that witness spirit.
- 41:48Yeah, for sure. All right, 18 now where
- 41:55remission of these is there is no more offering for sin.
- 41:59I think we heard that those words prior to any comments on
- 42:05it or? Well, I mean, the only thing I
- 42:11would say is I guess the people listen wasn't in the
- 42:17conversation we had prior to this, but you know, we were
- 42:21talking before we got on here a little bit about forgiven
- 42:26trespasses or things against other people.
- 42:29And I think this word remission is, is deeper than that.
- 42:34Like it's, it would relate to no word.
- 42:38I, I would say you can define the word remission with verse 17
- 42:43by saying sins and iniquities that are not remembered anymore,
- 42:47right. In other words, where something
- 42:49is paid. For because because.
- 42:53I remember seeing that and finding great comfort in that.
- 42:57It's not like it is. We don't.
- 43:01We do not have the kind of relationship with God that we
- 43:04often we shouldn't have, but we have often with our spouses.
- 43:08Or with our. Kids, we say, I forgive you for
- 43:12that, but we actually, if we need it, we'll pull it back out
- 43:17and use it against them, right? In other words, we'll claim to
- 43:21have forgiven such and such thing.
- 43:23But if we, if we can, if we need, if we need to, to to make
- 43:30them feel bad, we'll pull that thing back out and say, well,
- 43:35don't you remember when you did this before or whatever?
- 43:38And God says, Oh, no, where there's remission these I don't
- 43:42remember him anymore, right? Like I'm not going to pull this
- 43:46back out of the hat and say, Oh, well, well, here it is again,
- 43:50right? I mean, it's, it's gone.
- 43:52And so I that was one thing I thought about there on that
- 43:56verse, but I guess I feel like that's what I thought about.
- 44:01But I also think he's just making the point again there in
- 44:06the end of the verse that like we already said, it's not like
- 44:10Jesus is expecting to have to do something further in the future.
- 44:15It's just there's no more offering for sin.
- 44:18And you could say on his behalf, he's not worried about it.
- 44:21And you could say on your behalf, you need to forget about
- 44:23it because there's nothing you can bring to the table that is
- 44:27going to make God more pleased or more willing to forget your
- 44:32sins than what his sons already did, right?
- 44:34I mean, it's not like you're going to do something.
- 44:36He's going to be like, well, you know, I was thinking about
- 44:38bringing it back up, but now that you did that, I won't,
- 44:42right? It's just there is no more
- 44:44offering for sin. There's nothing else to do
- 44:47that's going to make him forget more than what he already has.
- 44:49That's right, Melvin. Yeah, it seems like he's kind of
- 44:57sealing that verse 17 with verse 18.
- 45:01You know it says and and their sins and iniquities will I
- 45:04remember no more now where remission or a lot of times the
- 45:10word forgiveness is used instead of remission where other places
- 45:14where this word is used in the scriptures forgiveness.
- 45:19There is no more offering for sin and so he's kind of
- 45:23explaining verse 17. But I think the thing that that
- 45:27comes to my mind is, you know, a lot of times we look at, we
- 45:35don't think about how God doesn't remember our sins
- 45:38anymore. Like we, we somehow think that
- 45:42by remembering our sins or remembering our past, it makes
- 45:47us more holy somehow or more righteous.
- 45:51I don't know, just and dude, God has forgiven and he will not
- 45:57remember anymore. Like he's never going to think
- 46:01about. So just today I was thinking
- 46:03about it. You know how God when we pray,
- 46:06imagine, you know, like, OK, kind of what brought me to this
- 46:10thinking is, you know, Charlie Kirk's memorial service.
- 46:13Here's his stadium pack for whatever 70 some thousand
- 46:17people, right? And when you look at, at that,
- 46:20it's like, wow, that is a lot of people.
- 46:22And that is just a small percentage of the, the body of
- 46:27Christ that is actually in the world, right.
- 46:30And so think about when we pray, you know, God hears us when we
- 46:34pray, right? He hears us.
- 46:36He, he doesn't always answer a prayer, but he hears us when we
- 46:40pray. And so if it if if God that can
- 46:45hear all of us praying when we pray to him, come to him when we
- 46:50bless him, when we worship him, not just coming for a request,
- 46:55but but coming in thankfulness and whatever it may be that that
- 47:01same God doesn't remember your sins anymore.
- 47:04Like, you know, if we could just grasp that and believe that and
- 47:10walk in that. I think so many people are
- 47:14living their Christian life according to their experiences
- 47:20that they're having in their life, like with sin and and with
- 47:24God, and they're not actually living according to what the
- 47:27Scripture says. Yeah, right, Andrew.
- 47:32Yeah, it's just what I was going to say is where it's hard makes
- 47:37it really hard to believe this and it's hard to know what to do
- 47:43with it. When you have the concept
- 47:45believe in the concept that you're responsible for your sins
- 47:50in in the fact that you have to deal with fun.
- 47:53If you don't deal with them, then they're not forgiven.
- 47:57And if you have about view, then if you thin again until you stop
- 48:02sin completely, you're going to your conscience is going to be
- 48:06bothered like you. You don't you don't believe the
- 48:09fact that your conscience, it's hard for us when we sin again to
- 48:15not have any conscience of sin. And he's saying this type of
- 48:19sacrifice is supposed to fix that this help us that like you,
- 48:25you shouldn't have any milk conscious.
- 48:27And it's hard for us to accept that kind of love.
- 48:31Yeah, it's hard for us to embrace that kind of love where
- 48:36he put us in a place. Let's like think of it this way.
- 48:42Let's say we were a broken window that is stained with sin.
- 48:47Aren't aren't any light comes into the house anymore.
- 48:50That window is really bad. It needs to be changed, but most
- 48:56Christians and most people religious people would say God
- 49:00needs to come and clean that window.
- 49:02God needs to put new, new paints or whatever you call that in the
- 49:08in the window. He can he can fix that window
- 49:10right up, but God doesn't do that.
- 49:14He comes and takes that window and gives you a new window that
- 49:19has blood in It's stained with blood and the sin stains are
- 49:24washed away. There are no sin stains and he
- 49:28replaces our dark sinful window window that is cure in white
- 49:38covered either this blood and there's nothing you're not going
- 49:44to look at that window and look at your past window and try to
- 49:47reconcile them, which is what religion is trying to do.
- 49:51You just believe of embrace of worship.
- 49:55The fact that you're in a new window.
- 49:58How do we know that's true. You can't die with Christ and
- 50:01not this this not be true. It couldn't be any other way.
- 50:05There is no continuing dying is it's it's done like you're it's
- 50:11a one time deal. It's not a process.
- 50:13So he had to just make a change. The old for the new.
- 50:21That's the only way it's going to work.
- 50:23It's the old or the new. So now that window is no longer
- 50:27ours because we're no longer our own.
- 50:31We're bought with a price and it's no longer our
- 50:34righteousness. It's not our glory hanging there
- 50:37in that wall. We don't see us there, but we
- 50:41see a perfect, beautiful window there that Jesus Christ made and
- 50:45purchased and put there on his own while we were just hanging
- 50:50there. A black window, right?
- 50:54Yeah, I just looked up the Greek word and I'm not a big fan of
- 50:59always one of the Greek, but this is interesting for the word
- 51:01remission. That Greek word is used 17 times
- 51:05in the King James Version and it is 9 times remission.
- 51:10It is 6 times forgiveness, one time deliverance and one time
- 51:16liberty. That kind of rounds out that I'm
- 51:19I like that picture. When we think about remission,
- 51:23there is no, you know, liberty that's set free, so paid back in
- 51:29full like. Taxes on.
- 51:33Yeah, and I just wanted to say, Cameron, you quoted there,
- 51:37imagine if the Bible wasn't a spiritual big.
- 51:39This goes back to the previous discussion that we had there.
- 51:43It wouldn't be capable to minister to our spirit.
- 51:45And I appreciate that. I think that's right on.
- 51:47You know, that is where the Holy Spirit being involved makes the
- 51:53difference from it being a book with paper and a book that is
- 51:58written by God that we can relate to and it relates to us.
- 52:01So yeah, that's a really good point.
- 52:03Thanks for that. Appreciate that.
- 52:07OK, we're going to attempt the next 4 verses and we'll finish
- 52:12with this. We'll have to hurry a little
- 52:13bit, I think. Therefore, brother, is that
- 52:16possible, And therefore, brethren, boldest to enter into
- 52:20the holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way
- 52:24which He had cut, created for us through the veil, that is to
- 52:27say, His flesh. And having a high priest over
- 52:30the House of God, let us draw deer with a true heart in full
- 52:36assurance of faith. Having our hearts sprinkled from
- 52:40an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
- 52:45Ping doll full a lot, a lot of little small points there that
- 52:48could be drawn out. But as you can see, it does want
- 52:52us to draw deer with a true heart of faith air.
- 52:57I'm actually only going to address verse 19 and I'll try to
- 53:03keep it short, but if you have understood, if you have realized
- 53:10the point that he's driving home that there is there was only one
- 53:16sacrifice and it and it didn't happen until Christ did it
- 53:21himself. Everything else didn't work.
- 53:24And once that happened, it will not happen again.
- 53:29I think that's the point of verse 19.
- 53:31If you actually grab hold of that, then you can come boldly
- 53:37to God because I mean, I guess there is people, I mean, there's
- 53:42the story about the Pharisee and the public and going up in the
- 53:45temple to pray. And that guy's, he is kind of
- 53:48coming boldly to God. But it's, it's a very
- 53:51self-righteous boldness, right? I mean, I here's what I do,
- 53:54here's what I don't do, but I would, I would think that you
- 53:59couldn't in all sincerity come boldly in that self-righteous
- 54:05manner. But if you realize this truth,
- 54:08you can come knowing that if it was, if it was the one thing
- 54:14that happened that doesn't have to happen again, I can be
- 54:18confident that God is going to forgive me based on this thing,
- 54:22right? I mean, that's what I that's
- 54:23that's what I see in that verse. Having therefore, like, if you
- 54:27get what we just said, having therefore bold, brethren,
- 54:31boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus.
- 54:34In other words, if you realize that God has accepted this and
- 54:38that it is done, then I can come and I, I can, I can approach God
- 54:47knowing that he has been satisfied with that one
- 54:51offering, right? That's the only way to have real
- 54:53boldness. I mean, like I said, I that was
- 54:56the example. I thought it was that pub that
- 54:58Pharisee that goes up in the temple to pray.
- 55:00He seems bold, but I bet if you really nailed him down, he, he
- 55:04knew better than that. You know, like he's, he just,
- 55:07he's really just saying, look at the other guy God, right?
- 55:09You know what I mean? Like just compare me with him,
- 55:12right? But this way you can come boldly
- 55:16to God and approach him knowing that what you're approaching him
- 55:20with has been accepted. But.
- 55:24That's right. That's good stuff.
- 55:25That would. Yeah, I like when he says there
- 55:28what stood out to me is by new and living way.
- 55:33So this whole thing is a new and living way which he hath Christ
- 55:40consecrated for us through the veil, that is to say his flesh.
- 55:47So I don't know, it just stood out to me that the idea that
- 55:51Christ through him sacrificing his own flesh, his own body on
- 55:57the cross through the what we were saying, the temporary veil
- 56:04in the temple was rent, you know, when he died on the cross.
- 56:09And because of that, and that is a new and living way.
- 56:13That's what he's trying to get across here is that, you know,
- 56:16this whole thing is a new thought and a new, new way.
- 56:22And it's not the old anymore. It's now the new.
- 56:26And so many times, like even us, like now we're looking here.
- 56:32He's talking to the Jews. I think most mostly right.
- 56:36But even us living after Christ died on the cough, right?
- 56:42And we have the scriptures and everything we have is in full.
- 56:47The mystery the Bible says has been revealed to us by the
- 56:51mystery of Christ. And even us tend to want to
- 56:57somehow go back to the old way like, but he's saying, no, it's
- 57:03a new way. And and so you don't you're not
- 57:05supposed to go out back to the old.
- 57:08Like in other words, if I'm going to buy a new car, this
- 57:13might be a stupid analogy, I don't know.
- 57:15But in my mind, and I'm going to buy a new car and I get rid of
- 57:18my old car. I'm not going to go back to the
- 57:20guy I sold my old car to and say, hey, look, I want my old
- 57:23car back. You know, I'm not going to do
- 57:26that. I got a new car, a new truck,
- 57:28and I'm going to drive that new truck.
- 57:30I'm not going to go back to my old one.
- 57:33And so that's what he's saying here.
- 57:36And I first think it's interesting that through Christ
- 57:40we have now boldness to come to the throne.
- 57:44And we talked about this earlier, but this very
- 57:46significant. I think it's just if we can come
- 57:51to God in that way, we could have a lot of power in our
- 57:59lives, I think. Right.
- 58:01You know, Amen. Andrew.
- 58:05Yeah, he's just saying in like Aaron was saying, the response,
- 58:12the response of understanding what he he just said here should
- 58:17give you boldness. Like you heard whatever he was
- 58:20saying you should have boldness and you would draw near with a
- 58:24true heart without having a conscience.
- 58:27That's saying man, I don't know about meeting this guy.
- 58:31You know if you understood what he was saying that he has
- 58:33perfected forever, then that are sanctified.
- 58:36If there's one offering once for all forever.
- 58:39You can for all near to God with a true heart full assurance of
- 58:43faith. Having our hearts sprinkled from
- 58:45an evil conscience. You read the verses about our
- 58:49conscience earlier. You would you'd be able we can
- 58:52do that and it's hard. I mean, I'm doing this.
- 58:55I'm speaking on this and I you know, I cringe at the idea of
- 58:58meeting God with a you know, full shrines of faith like, you
- 59:03know, it's that's how I guess Conall we are, but that's that's
- 59:08how it should be. If we understood the previous
- 59:10verses and draw full shrines, faith, having a heart sprinkle
- 59:15of an evil conscience and our bodies washed with that pure
- 59:19water should come as running to God like our little kid does
- 59:22when we come home. He's mentioned this earlier when
- 59:28chapter 2 verse 15 and his goal was to to deliver them who
- 59:32through fear of death or all their lifetime subject to
- 59:36bondage should be gone. Yeah, that's good.
- 59:42And we'll probably touch on these verses again.
- 59:45I do. That was going to happen.
- 59:46We kind of rushed through it. But anyway, we'll maybe revisit
- 59:49them just a little bit. I did want to play one thing out
- 59:53there in verse 22. It says from an evil conscience.
- 59:56That's that same conscience that he was earlier talking about
- 1:00:00having no more conscience of sins that actually evil.
- 1:00:04You know, that's the same thing. It it's actually, you know,
- 1:00:07which I mean evil. We think of evil as, you know,
- 1:00:10Satan or whatever, but it just beats bad.
- 1:00:12Like they he called that fruit bad evil.
- 1:00:15He called it evil anyway. So yeah.
- 1:00:18I think we can with we can proclaim that He wants us to
- 1:00:24live in this new and living way which He has consecrated for us.
- 1:00:29Very. So anyway, it's 8:00.
- 1:00:33We are going to call it quits, I guess right in the middle of it.
- 1:00:36You'll just have to come back to listen to the right next thing.
- 1:00:41All right. So anyway, as we conclude
- 1:00:43today's study, remember Hebrews 11/1.
- 1:00:45Faith is a substance of things hoped for.
- 1:00:48And it is. Faith is the evidence of things
- 1:00:52that we can't see. And I pray that your faith would
- 1:00:55reveal biblical truths clearly, more clearly than your physical
- 1:00:58eyes can perceive the things before you.
- 1:01:00Join us next Monday as we do the same thing, same time, same
- 1:01:04place as we look at the word of God through the substance of
- 1:01:06faith. God bless you and thank you for
- 1:01:09your time. Appreciate you.
