- 4:19Speaker 4: He's not as crazy as CT.
- 4:21Speaker 4: He doesn't like put put.
- 4:22Speaker 4: You know he doesn't take sour patch grape and put and mix it with vodka.

- 5:18Speaker 4: That was a.
- 5:19Speaker 4: That was a what would you say?
- 5:21Speaker 4: A surprise, right, a monkey wrench.
- 5:24Speaker 4: I was at the point with Roxy where you know there's sometimes when you ask her or whatever, but it's kind of got to be a.
- 5:34Speaker 4: So I usually I just let her do her thing and all of a sudden she's like, yeah, I want in.
- 5:42Speaker 2: I'm just too hard working.
- 5:44Speaker 2: I'm always working.
- 5:45Speaker 4: Well, you're working but uh, I would say tonight, our 400th is a unique because it is.
- 5:51Speaker 4: We've had three days that school started and our grandchildren are all in school and although we've helped out a little bit to get them all kick-started, we are approaching some freedom, right, finally.
- 6:05Speaker 4: Yeah, it's been 36 years since we've been free and that's a long time.
- 6:11Speaker 4: Everybody, don't you think?
- 6:12Speaker 4: I mean you know you would think it would come and go.
- 6:16Speaker 4: So, anyways, all right.
- 6:18Speaker 4: So, matt, what are you guys sipping on to start this off?
- 6:24Speaker 5: Oh the one.
- 6:24Speaker 5: This would be Home, sweet Ohio.
- 6:31Speaker 5: Home, the boy talks you to make a private breakfast.
- 6:34Speaker 3: Ooh.
- 6:35Speaker 5: Ooh.
- 6:36Speaker 4: Well, and then Nash you're.
- 6:38Speaker 4: I haven't tried the one yet, so you haven't had it yet.
- 6:44Speaker 5: I had this one, I had the.
- 6:50Speaker 6: Okay.
- 6:51Speaker 5: Okay, Steve did for all that one.
- 6:53Speaker 5: Oh my.
- 6:56Speaker 6: God, this one does.
- 6:59Speaker 4: Yeah, let's see, my friend didn't.
- 7:01Speaker 4: So we got guys on youtube from italy.
- 7:04Speaker 4: That's kind of cool.
- 7:08Speaker 4: Um, someone, uh, rebel wolves drinking tennessee whiskey and vincent augusta uh band on the beats.
- 7:17Speaker 4: Um, barbecue and barbecue night, to remember, I, that's a.
- 7:22Speaker 4: That's uh, not one I'm familiar with, but it's great.
- 7:24Speaker 4: It's like good, good to see everybody on youtube and what they're drinking.
- 7:28Speaker 4: And we are rocking tonight on youtube.
- 7:31Speaker 4: It's a big one.
- 7:31Speaker 4: So tonight, uh, roxy, I, I got a special glass for roxy.
- 7:37Speaker 4: It's her glass.
- 7:38Speaker 4: We bought this initially, so she's drinking a out of that type of uh glass and it is uh, what would you say?
- 7:46Speaker 4: It's a blood oath from uh and it's a I I forget the name of it.
- 7:51Speaker 4: Do you remember, super nash?
- 7:52Speaker 4: What that, that style, is called?
- 7:55Speaker 4: I do not remember, and we did a whole episode.
- 7:58Speaker 4: Well, you've got to go check that episode out.
- 8:01Speaker 4: That was 372.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Well, you know that that it was 372, but you don't remember the name of the glass.
- 8:10Speaker 6: No, I don't, that's crazy isn't it Anyways?
- 8:16Speaker 3: just so you know, I made that episode up in my brain, so it's probably not 372.
- 8:21Speaker 2: I know All these people are like scrolling back trying to go to 372.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Just so you know.
- 8:28Speaker 6: I'm sitting on a 2024 Bob Burger 108 fruit.
- 8:32Speaker 6: Yeah that's great, just make sure your brother's driving very carefully.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a stateady watching this podcast in his car that's coming to get you.
- 8:47Speaker 6: I'm riding in a limousine FEV.
- 8:51Speaker 3: You're in the back seat and I'm also drinking on a.
- 8:54Speaker 4: Felicity cigar yeah, that's nice.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Yeah, as I said, watch out.
- 8:58Speaker 2: There could be a Stady watching our podcast.
- 9:01Speaker 4: So we got Walker and Jamie coming to get you gonna see them.
- 9:50Speaker 4: What's what?
- 9:51Speaker 4: What's walker saying?
- 9:52Speaker 4: Um, it's private between me and walker.
- 9:55Speaker 4: Oh, you and walker are talking, you're walking, talking with, uh, with walker.
- 10:02Speaker 4: Anyways, all right, so we've, I've got I.
- 10:05Speaker 4: I brought in, like you're going to do a party, right?
- 10:08Speaker 4: There's always to me whiskeys that are kind of special, but they're party whiskeys, right, ones that you want to drink, it's really good and whatever.
- 10:20Speaker 4: And the first one I'm going to go.
- 10:21Speaker 4: I've always been a big, huge fan of Billy Idol.
- 10:25Speaker 4: Oh God, what?
- 10:27Speaker 4: Now?
- 10:29Speaker 4: Walker's talking.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Sorry, I'm sorry.
- 10:33Speaker 4: Not like that.
- 10:34Speaker 4: Okay, don't worry about it.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Jeff knows.
- 10:39Speaker 4: I've got a Rebel 10 right here.
- 10:41Speaker 4: Do you ever have that, Matt?
- 10:44Speaker 4: Have you ever had it?
- 10:47Speaker 5: I've never had the Rebel 10, but a couple rebel cast drinks here yeah, no, the rebel cast strengths are.
- 10:54Speaker 4: In my opinion they do the brand uh, the regular rebel brand.
- 10:59Speaker 4: Well, because I always felt that rebel um, you know it's billy idol wrote rebel yell off of it.
- 11:05Speaker 4: It's a fact, he was drinking it back then.
- 11:08Speaker 4: But Rebel 10, to me, became something different.
- 11:14Speaker 4: It's a 10-year and I want to say the proof is 100 proof.
- 11:21Speaker 4: So for a 100 proof.
- 11:22Speaker 4: But this drinks, I will say, like silk.
- 11:28Speaker 4: It's a very, very, I'm not gonna say it goes down well and I always, like when I'm partying, I want flavor, but I also don't want to have to, I don't want to be doing shots of it to get it down.
- 11:44Speaker 4: You know what I mean.
- 11:45Speaker 4: I want flavor, I want some punch, but I also want to be having a drinkability kind of thing, because usually when you're partying You're drinking more and I always I don't know about you guys If I'm partying too heavy and I start really getting into some of the barrel strengths and ones that have a little bit more bite to it, that usually ends bad for me.
- 12:09Speaker 4: It's like that's the part that's, you know.
- 12:14Speaker 4: So I like to do that where you got it.
- 12:17Speaker 4: So I figured the Rebel 10 is right up to start off and it was like, out of all the Rebels, it's the one I would buy again and I I do.
- 12:29Speaker 4: I have rub, I got cast strength, I got distillers, distillers, choice cast strength, and then I got rebel 100.
- 12:37Speaker 4: So, um, I, I, because I'm such, I was such a billy idol fan.
- 12:42Speaker 4: Actually, here's a really cool um, what would you say?
- 12:46Speaker 4: A cool factoid is that the year me and roxy met was 1984.
- 12:52Speaker 4: That was billy idol's big year, uh, for releasing eyes without a face.
- 12:58Speaker 4: And um, what was the what was?
- 13:01Speaker 4: a white wedding and everything.
- 13:03Speaker 4: So we were like we she her.
- 13:08Speaker 4: Did you get your tonsils out, Was it?
- 13:11Speaker 4: She got her tonsils out.
- 13:13Speaker 4: It was really rough.
- 13:14Speaker 4: And we had tickets to the Wisconsin State Fair to see Billy Idol and she went.
- 13:20Speaker 4: Oh, my mom was so mad, she's like you are not leaving this house, so we went to the Billy Idol house.
- 13:28Speaker 2: I'm like I'm not missing billy I don't dating.
- 13:31Speaker 4: But what was really she did, but what was really freaking cool about it was that we got to see him again the following that.
- 13:42Speaker 4: That was like in august.
- 13:43Speaker 4: We got to see him in december in madison and, uh, she was feeling much that that was much better yeah, that one was a wild one, but it was kind of cool to see him and then go through throughout time.
- 13:54Speaker 4: So that's what it is Cheers, cheers to everyone, cheers.
- 13:59Speaker 5: Thanks, guys, seth, you don't happen to have Rebel Root.
- 14:02Speaker 6: Beer.
- 14:03Speaker 6: What you don't happen to have, rebel Root Beer, do you?
- 14:07Speaker 4: No, I don't have Rebel Root Beer.
- 14:09Speaker 4: The only root beer I've ever gotten lately is Freddy's.
- 14:17Speaker 4: They're good yeah, the bourbon cream.
- 14:19Speaker 4: The bourbon cream is damn good.
- 14:20Speaker 4: Yes, what he does.
- 14:22Speaker 4: And then you know it's been so awesome.
- 14:31Speaker 4: Did you guys get a chance to go when they came up by you to go to the weller thing where you were signing bottles and everything.
- 14:34Speaker 5: No, I was at work.
- 14:35Speaker 4: They were all different today well, what was really bizarre is I broke my my wrist.
- 14:41Speaker 4: This everybody kind of knows that.
- 14:42Speaker 4: I broke my wrist earlier this year, and the only reason why I was able to go to the one it was at, uh, earlier this year, and the only reason why I was able to go to the one it was at, uh, uh, it was at what was the name of it?
- 14:57Speaker 4: Um, top shelf here, which is, uh, a liquor store in that area, and I probably shouldn't be saying this, but I was able to.
- 15:01Speaker 4: That was the day I was getting my cast, or I was getting checked up to see if I needed a cast or a brace.
- 15:08Speaker 4: So, uh, the the the event started at like one o'clock till whatever, and so I went to the event and I got off work because I said that I had a doctor's appointment.
- 15:20Speaker 2: Well, you did, I did.
- 15:22Speaker 2: It's just that the doctor's appointment was a little bit later.
- 15:25Speaker 4: Yeah, it was later than uh, and so I got him you busted.
- 15:28Speaker 4: You know they weren't allowed to bring anything in, but I brought my barrel-proof EH Taylor tube with no liquor in and I had him sign the tube.
- 15:38Speaker 4: They said no bottles, you know.
- 15:42Speaker 4: So that was kind of cool seeing Freddie.
- 15:44Speaker 4: So, matt, some of the people that have been on your you have other people from time to time what's the best guest you've had so far?
- 16:05Speaker 5: To do what I everybody is trying to keep up.
- 16:08Speaker 5: Basically, what I do is if Steve finds a bottle, or Jay finds a bottle, we shoot the videos on it.
- 16:20Speaker 5: If I find a bottle, I grab them and we all just get together and shoot a bunch of videos.
- 16:22Speaker 5: It's just kind of fun to have the different people out there that have different talents, all instead of what they take down and as well can I taste down here and if you follow us enough, no tension the person that you really like what they taste more than the other.
- 16:36Speaker 5: Without all their like this, they actually go by them instead of buying random things that still then yeah, and I find um you do a lot of like.
- 16:47Speaker 4: Uh, I said you do beer.
- 16:53Speaker 5: I have never seen you do wine, but do you do wine?
- 16:56Speaker 5: To be honest with you, I have a wine collection of at least 75 different bottles.
- 16:58Speaker 5: I think wine has sort of been a problem.
- 16:59Speaker 5: I've been drinking wine all night but I've never really reviewed wine before.
- 17:14Speaker 4: That might be kind of cool.
- 17:15Speaker 4: Well, I mean, that's one thing I like about the, about your youtube channel is that you don't have any preconceived notions if you can drink it, you're gonna drink it absolutely tomorrow I think it's the new birthday cake and I'm obsessed with this bottle.
- 17:31Speaker 5: It's one of the best I've ever had a flavored drink.
- 17:34Speaker 5: It tastes like vanilla frosting on the top.
- 17:39Speaker 4: Yeah, and that's one of the cool things about what I love, anyways, is that even with bourbon, there's some bourbons I'll give you.
- 17:47Speaker 4: You know, for me they're always changing.
- 17:50Speaker 4: I mean to keep consistency.
- 17:52Speaker 4: These days I find that a lot of the bourbons just seem to be getting better, even if it's just a normal brand.
- 17:59Speaker 4: And I'll give you an example.
- 18:00Speaker 4: If you pick up a new bottle of Buffalo Trace right now, it is a that recent batch that they're releasing out.
- 18:05Speaker 4: It's a small batch, you know, but whatever is a small batch for batch that they're releasing out.
- 18:09Speaker 4: It's a small batch, you know, but whatever is a small batch for you know Buffalo Trace, right, but that batch right now is just a pure caramel bomb.
- 18:17Speaker 4: It's delicious.
- 18:17Speaker 4: I have Buffalo Trace from two years ago that barely even gives you a hint of caramel.
- 18:25Speaker 4: And this one, you do it, you drink it and you can just fully, full-out taste caramel.
- 18:32Speaker 4: And I did a at lunch today.
- 18:33Speaker 4: There was a bottle at my at the restaurant that I go to, which is Lobie's on Cleveland Avenue here, and I just go there and either on half-price pizza day or get salads and whatnot.
- 18:46Speaker 1: But I usually don't get a pour.
- 18:48Speaker 4: But I saw that they had a bottle of Buffalo Trace and I'm like, well, let's see if my bottle is any different.
- 18:54Speaker 4: And it wasn't, it was you know they just got it and it was fantastic, I mean, and I've not always been the huge Buffalo Trace guy, but right now, what's coming out of there?
- 19:06Speaker 4: I'm a fan of.
- 19:10Speaker 5: I skipped one at the store.
- 19:11Speaker 5: Today I have to go back.
- 19:15Speaker 2: You should.
- 19:15Speaker 2: It's really outstanding.
- 19:18Speaker 5: I'll have to grab one at the store that works for me.
- 19:25Speaker 4: You got any questions for Matt Questions for Matt.
- 19:28Speaker 4: I put you on the spot right off the bat.
- 19:31Speaker 4: You did.
- 19:32Speaker 2: You didn't for me, so you got any questions for Matt.
- 19:33Speaker 2: Questions for Matt yeah.
- 19:34Speaker 4: I put you on the spot right off the bat.
- 19:35Speaker 4: You did.
- 19:35Speaker 4: You didn't tell me.
- 19:35Speaker 4: Hey, you got a question for Matt.
- 19:36Speaker 4: What this?
- 19:36Speaker 2: is something unique.
- 19:39Speaker 2: I'm just being fair to you.
- 19:46Speaker 3: So what's your favorite thing?
- 19:47Speaker 5: to go to right now, Matt.
- 19:48Speaker 5: I know that's a tough question.
- 19:57Speaker 4: Which one Say that one more time you said it quick, you said that bottle quick.
- 20:02Speaker 4: What was it?
- 20:04Speaker 5: Joseph Magnus Cigar Blend.
- 20:05Speaker 5: Joseph Magnus.
- 20:07Speaker 2: Cigar Blend Okay.
- 20:09Speaker 4: I have to look at this.
- 20:16Speaker 4: I, that was from the, that's right from the other night, right there, can you see it?
- 20:25Speaker 4: That's the joseph magnus cigar blend 85 that was from ct got me that one and you know I went to his house and I tried it.
- 20:36Speaker 4: You know he had me try it and now it's it's almost like, um, when I went to uh, when I went to uh, when nash got me an old carter the one time and then anytime I ever drank with him, all I wanted to do is drink old carter I would say that if anybody has a magnus cigar blend.
- 20:53Speaker 4: I mean they just use that now.
- 20:55Speaker 4: Does the magnus cigar blend have the amberana aspect to it, or is it something else?
- 21:06Speaker 5: um, to be honest, I think it's more like a mild tobacco, compared to the one that Chris brought us when we did the live here.
- 21:13Speaker 5: This was more like a light tobacco or a mild tobacco.
- 21:19Speaker 5: Okay, I liked it so much that I went out and bought mine.
- 21:25Speaker 5: I think you have a pretty younger batch.
- 21:29Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 21:30Speaker 4: Yeah, the earlier batches.
- 21:31Speaker 4: But they all from what I've heard, there's not a bad batch.
- 21:38Speaker 6: No, not at all.
- 21:39Speaker 4: Alright, so alright.
- 21:41Speaker 4: The other aspect, so we started off with Rebel Yell.
- 21:45Speaker 4: The other one that I think is a really good party one is that few spirits in Illinois, evanston, illinois we know the distiller right there, Nash, paul.
- 22:04Speaker 4: Paul, say his name.
- 22:06Speaker 4: Are you going to say his name, nash?
- 22:08Speaker 4: You hear me, nash?
- 22:11Speaker 4: What's Paul?
- 22:12Speaker 4: What?
- 22:13Speaker 4: Let go.
- 22:14Speaker 4: Oh, I can't.
- 22:15Speaker 4: Paul, let go, yeah, let go, paul, let go yeah.
- 22:18Speaker 6: Anyways In Chicago.
- 22:21Speaker 4: Illinois, yes, and he's got Bands that help.
- 22:26Speaker 4: So this one is Allison Chains and it is his, his got bands that help.
- 22:28Speaker 4: So this one is Alice in Chains and it is his bourbon, but finished in tequila barrels.
- 22:36Speaker 4: Right, that's what it was, tequila barrels.
- 22:38Speaker 4: Now Super National, okay, and so I like to do if I'm partying, you know who else do you want to party with?
- 22:50Speaker 4: But but a band allison chains.
- 22:53Speaker 4: You listen to some music, put some allison chains on, but what's the new batch there?
- 22:58Speaker 4: Nash?
- 23:00Speaker 6: the new batch is, uh, this massive pumpkin blend, and he actually fruited it down with rose tea, which one of the members of the Smashing Pumpkins owns a tea store or tea cafe and they sell different kinds of blends of herbal teas and all, and a rose tea was made by his wife.
- 23:37Speaker 6: Yeah, and that's what they first got down with All right.
- 23:43Speaker 4: So, matt, we're talking about what's coming up.
- 23:51Speaker 4: I mean, so this is the 400th.
- 23:53Speaker 4: We've had so many people on.
- 23:57Speaker 4: One of the things I want to do with this is why I have the Alice in Chains bottle is that I want to start to get you know some of the celebrities that like whiskey.
- 24:10Speaker 4: I've had a lot of the celebrities of the whiskey industry and what would have been great is if you could have got Hulk Hogan in when he came in.
- 24:18Speaker 4: That would have been great to have the Hulkster come over and rip his shirt off support, you know he could just
- 24:29Speaker 5: what was that what?
- 24:31Speaker 4: yeah, I saw that he was there signing and it was so popular that they had to turn tons of people away well, no, did you see what happened?
- 24:39Speaker 5: they were throwing leaders off the stage.
- 24:42Speaker 5: Somebody got busted in the face and it was not solid.
- 24:48Speaker 5: Most ridiculous thing.
- 24:50Speaker 5: I read the whole news article on my Facebook.
- 24:53Speaker 4: So did he get in trouble.
- 24:57Speaker 5: I think it was one of the people on stage with him and it didn't pinpoint him exactly.
- 25:01Speaker 5: So I think somebody got in trouble, but I don't think it was him.
- 25:05Speaker 4: It's probably he was doing that and the lady smashed herself in the face on purpose.
- 25:08Speaker 4: He's made an association with the party that usually gets you in trouble, so we won't make any associations.
- 25:23Speaker 2: So we got John Ritt on Facebook.
- 25:26Speaker 2: Says he's got your smashing pumpkin bottles.
- 25:29Speaker 5: Oh yes, so as soon as we're on our way through, Chicagoland.
- 25:34Speaker 2: We have to stop by and pick them up.
- 25:36Speaker 4: But you won't be there.
- 25:37Speaker 4: I said we no, yeah, but you meant me, because not this weekend but the following weekend, if the Lillian comes through.
- 25:46Speaker 4: I'm going to be coming back on Sunday, john.
- 25:48Speaker 4: Sunday, john.
- 25:49Speaker 2: Just want to let you know there's always a possibility I could go.
- 25:52Speaker 2: Okay, it's a matter of, but when I'm coming back on sunday.
- 25:55Speaker 4: Um, john, you could?
- 25:56Speaker 4: I'm going to set it up so that you've got a tasting with your friends.
- 25:59Speaker 4: I'm going to be bringing that, uh french lick and that, lillian, and I'll deliver it to you and then we'll do our trade for all the bottles.
- 26:05Speaker 4: I understand that you've gotten me some good stuff.
- 26:08Speaker 4: John is out of Chicago, matt, and there's a distillery there that had a blue corn that everybody was going crazy about in Chicago and he picked me up a bottle like a year ago.
- 26:21Speaker 4: Which one is it?
- 26:23Speaker 4: I don't know they out of.
- 26:30Speaker 4: Are they out of Illinois?
- 26:31Speaker 4: This is from Texas.
- 26:36Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, that's no, it's not that one, but that the they're actually out.
- 26:40Speaker 4: They're actually out of Illinois.
- 26:42Speaker 4: It's an Illinois distillery.
- 26:44Speaker 4: So I was really interested.
- 26:45Speaker 4: But you know our sponsor, which is Rosewood.
- 26:52Speaker 4: He's out of Houston.
- 26:54Speaker 4: So this next year I'm going to be doing a Texas tour.
- 27:02Speaker 6: We're going to be doing a Texas tour, we, yes.
- 27:04Speaker 2: What?
- 27:04Speaker 2: Yeah, you see how he's trying to leave us out, right, yeah, so what?
- 27:07Speaker 6: yeah, you see him.
- 27:08Speaker 6: He's trying to leave us out, yeah so what did you say?
- 27:12Speaker 4: what was the question, matt?
- 27:13Speaker 2: definitely he's trying to leave us out.
- 27:19Speaker 4: I don't know blue label yeah, it could be, but, um, john Ritt, what is he?
- 27:26Speaker 4: Oh, it's called.
- 27:27Speaker 4: What's it called?
- 27:27Speaker 4: Whiskey acres, blue popcorn out of blue popcorn out of it could be, but John Ritt.
- 27:29Speaker 2: What is he?
- 27:30Speaker 2: Oh, it's called.
- 27:30Speaker 2: What's it called?
- 27:30Speaker 2: Whiskey Acres Blue.
- 27:31Speaker 4: Popcorn out.
- 27:32Speaker 4: Of.
- 27:32Speaker 4: It's Blue Popcorn out of DeKalb and it's called Whiskey Acres.
- 27:36Speaker 4: It's out of DeKalb, illinois, so that's what it is.
- 27:41Speaker 4: So I'm going to.
- 27:44Speaker 4: I mean, that's what I love.
- 27:46Speaker 4: I love random, but I mean blue popcorn.
- 27:49Speaker 4: That's interesting.
- 27:50Speaker 4: That makes me intrigued.
- 27:51Speaker 4: So I'm going to pick up that.
- 27:53Speaker 4: And then he's got me.
- 27:54Speaker 4: I asked him and he got the Smashing Pumpkins bottle there.
- 27:57Speaker 4: Nash, did you get your bottle?
- 27:58Speaker 4: No, john still got it.
- 28:03Speaker 4: Oh yeah, he's got your bottle.
- 28:05Speaker 4: I'm picking up yours.
- 28:07Speaker 4: And then I asked him if he could get me mine and he just said he got me mine.
- 28:10Speaker 4: So I'm picking up both, all right, so that's a thing.
- 28:12Speaker 4: That's what I love about podcasting and everything, especially since we've been doing these lives and everybody's been in, you know, for the lives and you get to meet so many different people that the cool thing about YouTube is, let's see, oh, all right, so Walker went over to YouTube and started talking to people.
- 28:31Speaker 4: So that's really kind of cool Thanks.
- 28:32Speaker 6: Walker.
- 28:32Speaker 6: Hey everybody, I hate to do this, but we're pulling up to our destination here and I'm going to have to use my phone so I can get a check in.
- 28:46Speaker 4: Well, once you do that, if you finish up, come back, jump back on.
- 28:51Speaker 6: Yeah, once we get checked in and get in the room, I'll try to get back on, okay.
- 28:54Speaker 4: Okay, I don't know if we'll still be here, but if we are, you should jump back in.
- 28:58Speaker 4: I got a lot of packing to do for tomorrow, that's for sure.
- 29:01Speaker 4: All right, absolutely All right.
- 29:04Speaker 4: Cheers, cheers, nash.
- 29:05Speaker 6: Bye, martin Good to see you here, just All right.
- 29:09Speaker 4: Cheers, Cheers, Nash.
- 29:12Speaker 4: Bye Martin Good to see you here, just another call, all right, so this should go good.
- 29:14Speaker 4: When it goes Now that he drops, then it should be all Matt.
- 29:16Speaker 4: Matt should be on YouTube.
- 29:18Speaker 4: Are you watching on YouTube there, matt?
- 29:22Speaker 5: Can you see that too?
- 29:24Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, youtube's back here.
- 29:25Speaker 5: It's like you're not seeing.
- 29:28Speaker 4: Yeah, now I see you guys, there you go, so, and then I'm just trying to make sure everybody can see you.
- 29:35Speaker 4: I mean, now that it's us, do you want me?
- 29:38Speaker 4: Just nope?
- 29:42Speaker 2: If I just put it speaker, then it goes back and forth.
- 29:42Speaker 2: Yeah, just yeah, don't do that.
- 29:43Speaker 4: On Facebook.
- 29:43Speaker 4: Now we're doing good.
- 29:44Speaker 2: Everybody would get yeah, so On Facebook now we're doing good, Everybody would get yeah.
- 29:46Speaker 2: So yeah, we're both on there.
- 29:48Speaker 2: What did you?
- 29:48Speaker 4: say You're picking up all three, all three, yeah, okay, yes, I'm going to pick up all three, thanks.
- 29:52Speaker 4: And so the other aspect of it is I just want to get I want to start getting some of the more people who are interested in whiskey and guests, and then I mean, I know that's what you want to do and I've been working really hard with the next pour.
- 30:13Speaker 4: Now I like the Alice in Chains.
- 30:16Speaker 4: This picks up a tequila finish.
- 30:18Speaker 4: What did you think of that, roxy?
- 30:19Speaker 2: It's very smoky.
- 30:24Speaker 4: I would say so.
- 30:24Speaker 4: It's definitely.
- 30:26Speaker 4: Did you like it?
- 30:27Speaker 4: Was it too smoky?
- 30:29Speaker 4: It's a little too smoky.
- 30:31Speaker 2: I mean, if you like something smoky, you will really like it.
- 30:34Speaker 2: It's a little too smoky for my pleasure, but I certainly wouldn't pull it out or anything.
- 30:42Speaker 4: So the other one, if you want to talk about rock stars and me and Matt, both like, this is the heaven's door, I've got this one is the exploration.
- 30:52Speaker 4: Did you, did you get a bottle of that yet?
- 30:56Speaker 5: So you have a great one, ok.
- 31:02Speaker 4: And it's just like I really.
- 31:04Speaker 4: You know, when we first were talking, you know I was talking, I talked a little bit to the rep and everything.
- 31:09Speaker 4: Now the rep that I was talking to left and I talked to the new rep, but Heaven's Door now has their own distillery, right.
- 31:17Speaker 4: They've blown up, they're a lot bigger than they were when they turned about.
- 31:24Speaker 4: Yes, yes, and actually in my opinion I think their whiskey from the time we did our first podcast with their little tasting kit, where I like their bourbon and everything and their Tennessee bourbon and's kind of like.
- 31:47Speaker 4: Initially it was another um blending kind of thing with the gimmick with, uh, bob dylan, it's bob dylan's brand but at the same time the whiskey has rose and represented it's.
- 32:03Speaker 4: It's a whiskey good enough to be bob dylan's brand.
- 32:06Speaker 4: Right, talking to about one of the greatest rock stars in the history of the world, one of them.
- 32:13Speaker 4: I'm not saying he's the greatest, but one of the greatest, and you would think, if he's going to do a bourbon and stick, well, this isn't a one and done right.
- 32:21Speaker 4: That's what I like about it.
- 32:22Speaker 4: What do you think, matt?
- 32:25Speaker 5: If he's stepping it up, then they're technical stuff.
- 32:27Speaker 5: If you're right, they're really good, these bottles that they're coming out with now with the nucleic bottle like you have, these bottles are all like where they started off, I just had a little red label, a blue one.
- 32:46Speaker 5: Yeah, bottles look better.
- 32:49Speaker 5: Two ski picks down here, yeah.
- 32:57Speaker 4: Yeah, and I mean, like on this one, I pick up like really unique flavors, like grape.
- 33:03Speaker 4: You pick up like a grapey almost.
- 33:06Speaker 2: I was just going to say that it tastes like Concord grapes with a kick.
- 33:10Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 33:10Speaker 4: So I really I agree with you.
- 33:14Speaker 4: I really think they upped their overall presence.
- 33:17Speaker 4: I actually have right here also the 10-year, which I thought was fantastic also when they put the 10-year out and then so once again having a party, you know, with everybody, and this is one I think that everybody would always love.
- 33:38Speaker 4: I mean, if you pull out the 10-year or you pull this out during a party and you start playing some Bob Dylan and whatever, I think you've got a.
- 33:48Speaker 4: There's a lot of people.
- 33:49Speaker 4: So you guys got it.
- 33:51Speaker 4: Are you guys going to drink it, or is any of you going to open?
- 33:55Speaker 5: you know it's not open, but we can open it.
- 33:57Speaker 5: Yeah, shut the video underneath.
- 33:59Speaker 5: This is exactly bottom of the bad.
- 34:00Speaker 5: Like a bad much, so that wasn't another one yeah, I mean, I just keep, I just keep.
- 34:07Speaker 4: I wish I was um at this point, not uh, you know, put it this way, there's so many and you've got to be feeling it too.
- 34:15Speaker 4: There's so many whiskeys out there, right, that I'm just gonna make sure this is working yep yeah and uh, there's so many bourbons and whiskeys out there now it's almost impossible to keep up.
- 34:27Speaker 4: Right, you, you, I know you you take advantage of help, right, you've got guys that will bring over bottles and you'll, you guys, all taste it together.
- 34:36Speaker 4: Everybody kind of does it um with.
- 34:39Speaker 4: I used to have Super Nash's help.
- 34:41Speaker 4: Super Nash is the reason why the podcast started off in the first place, because he was able to get me anything I wanted or talk about, and after 400 podcasts, we pretty much talked about most everything.
- 34:53Speaker 4: So there's certain things that just keep making the rounds year after year, but as I keep getting older, it seems like the years keep going faster and faster.
- 35:02Speaker 4: Right, let's not talk about that.
- 35:06Speaker 4: So, anyways, you got the 10 in there, though Wait, let me grab some.
- 35:13Speaker 5: Whatever Cheers guys.
- 35:14Speaker 5: Oh, you guys don't have it yet.
- 35:16Speaker 5: I'll wait for it.
- 35:17Speaker 5: Yeah, that's a 10.
- 35:19Speaker 5: Let me go off of what you were just talking about here.
- 35:22Speaker 5: Basically, I've already worked myself up to having 300 bottles, which for me is ridiculous because I have to build new shelves and purchase all kinds of stuff to get all these bottles in.
- 35:33Speaker 5: So what I like to do is say Steve goes and gets a new bottle.
- 35:39Speaker 5: I'm like Steve, bring your stuff over and I shoot bottles for that.
- 35:41Speaker 5: So that's the story.
- 35:43Speaker 5: But with that I just turned up the list.
- 35:45Speaker 5: I got the bottle from the store.
- 35:46Speaker 5: Then we had new bottles to shoot for.
- 35:48Speaker 5: I had to go to the store every two days and spend my entire paycheck on a lot of new bottles.
- 35:54Speaker 5: I think my life's like for better that way, when I don't go buying a million different bottles.
- 36:03Speaker 4: Well, I would Roxy's here to say that's the same thing.
- 36:07Speaker 4: We're getting ready to go to Kentucky Bourbon Festival.
- 36:10Speaker 4: I have been on a, I think in the last Since March.
- 36:16Speaker 4: I've only bought three bottles.
- 36:18Speaker 2: Roxy needs a vacation.
- 36:20Speaker 4: But I will tell you of the three bottles that I bought, that's fine.
- 36:24Speaker 4: Actually it was five, because I bought two bottles of 2XO and I'm looking over there.
- 36:28Speaker 2: Yes, because I was like counting in my mind going.
- 36:31Speaker 4: Okay, yes.
- 36:32Speaker 2: There's a little more than three.
- 36:35Speaker 4: But also she's been prefacing it that you're going to go to Kentucky Bourbon Festival.
- 36:39Speaker 4: You're going to want to spend some money and buy some bottles there.
- 36:42Speaker 4: Save it, Save it, save it.
- 36:44Speaker 4: But also we also bought 400 bottles of 200, almost 200 bottles of Dalton and 200 bottles of Lily and Sinclair.
- 36:54Speaker 4: Those aren't for you, though.
- 36:56Speaker 4: I know I'm not, but still there's going to be a decent amount here for a while that I promised her I would move.
- 37:03Speaker 4: So I'm going to count on you, matt, to tell all your friends to get one too, and, honestly, at one point I would be willing to come up and do a big let's just do a tasting with it where you get a group from Cleveland on the Rocks and I'll have everybody taste it and if they're excited, about it, they can get one.
- 37:21Speaker 2: I didn't get to go on that pick, but the samples that Jeff brought back were incredible, especially that Dalton.
- 37:28Speaker 2: That Dalton is probably better than the last one that we did.
- 37:31Speaker 2: And everybody wanted more and more and more, and there was no more.
- 37:37Speaker 5: So get it while you can, that's awesome If you bring it out and you can shoot it there and put it out there, and then we come up with things we're going to divide, so that way you can unload some of the bottles, you can create some of the bottles for us what I'll do is I'll just leave.
- 37:56Speaker 4: People can do Venmo and I'll leave a couple cases up by you, you, and if you do that I'll leave a couple, you'll get a couple bottles uh.
- 38:08Speaker 2: Kevin keaton asks has anyone tried the new eric church?
- 38:13Speaker 4: have you tried the eric church?
- 38:14Speaker 4: What's?
- 38:15Speaker 2: anyone tried the eric church?
- 38:16Speaker 4: what is eric church or his own one, I'm not sure so the answer is no, I have not.
- 38:25Speaker 5: I'll see matt's up on it, I'm not no, I know what you're talking about and she's on that stream right now and selling them online.
- 38:34Speaker 5: But it was funny.
- 38:36Speaker 5: I don't know where that comes from.
- 38:38Speaker 5: I was really iffy on it.
- 38:40Speaker 5: My beer guy actually bought a bottle of it.
- 38:43Speaker 5: He bought some, so yeah, so if you're going to open it, I can try it and I'm telling you what it tastes like.
- 38:49Speaker 5: Yeah, that's.
- 38:51Speaker 5: I don't know if he's collecting it or what's going on, so I'll have to ask him.
- 38:55Speaker 2: So Derek Sigler says he'll get a bottle from you.
- 38:58Speaker 2: I assume he's talking about the.
- 39:01Speaker 2: Spirit of French Lake yeah, derek videos with us all.
- 39:07Speaker 5: The time he had launched your, he brought that on the show.
- 39:12Speaker 2: Okay we got you yes alright so I like the exploration better than the 10 year yeah.
- 39:28Speaker 4: So party and you're trying to just like kind of drink and get drunk kind of thing.
- 39:33Speaker 4: Not not that we're getting drunk tonight and we're just sipping still but I think the 10 year goes down way better at a party than the other one.
- 39:41Speaker 4: The other one is like that is a sipping one for out by the fire.
- 39:45Speaker 4: Way more complex tons of things.
- 39:49Speaker 4: If you're at a party, you don't want complexity, do you agree with me, matt?
- 39:53Speaker 4: Like if you're partying with your friends I do not.
- 39:56Speaker 2: I'm going to vehemently disagree.
- 40:00Speaker 4: But man, don't you have a like after you have to do so many things, because this is a lot tastier, yeah it is, so then you want to drink something that's You're getting drunk.
- 40:14Speaker 5: Why would you?
- 40:15Speaker 2: be getting drunk.
- 40:15Speaker 5: I have a drink whiskey with me and you're always doing it to dust and I look like that alcoholic I've been with and I'm always down in two tanks.
- 40:24Speaker 5: One of them is something that I can either mix or cope or play with them or something different or whatever it was, and I have my glass of whiskey at the same and I'll be sipping that all night.
- 40:36Speaker 5: It's usually something that.
- 40:37Speaker 5: I'm going to take, I'll jump in the bag and serve them what I drink.
- 40:42Speaker 5: For that drink, I'll drink it.
- 40:45Speaker 4: Well, I think also that if you've got two cups and you're getting down to the end, you've got the Coke in there and you're getting down to the end and you want to try something else, you just pour it in there and then you drink up the Coke and then you go off to the next one.
- 40:57Speaker 4: Right, see up the coke.
- 41:01Speaker 4: And then you go off to the next one.
- 41:02Speaker 4: Right, see, matt, that's my iw harper 15 here.
- 41:03Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that's that I just that's her jam, that I just sip, you know, I mean I've got whenever I get bottles of this shit.
- 41:09Speaker 4: Uh, nash got one from the 70s, but I'm telling you, iw harper, 15 is definitely um, I I opened that bottle last night, okay, and I, we were out by the fire and I opened it and the smell of it was so good and then I get a poor.
- 41:26Speaker 4: Yes, it's only, I believe it's 80, it's 80 proof, but it's 15 year and I'm telling you it doesn't drink like an 80 I mean it's, it's, it's a.
- 41:36Speaker 4: it reminded me of a lot of the Dustys I drank.
- 41:39Speaker 4: You know when you drink Dustys from the 70s and the 80s?
- 41:42Speaker 5: Without the funk.
- 41:43Speaker 4: They got a little bit of that rich bourbon taste.
- 41:47Speaker 4: We're talking about the ones that don't have the funk.
- 41:50Speaker 2: Yes, Kevin, IW Harper is good.
- 41:52Speaker 2: Yes, it is Kevin.
- 41:53Speaker 4: Thank you so that one, that's the two that you guys have is a little better than everything else they have.
- 41:58Speaker 5: The forecast I'm not the biggest fan of and I've had one other IW100 I didn't use.
- 42:06Speaker 5: Is that 15?
- 42:09Speaker 4: You like the 15, but the cast strength you're saying you mean the cast finished one.
- 42:14Speaker 4: You weren't impressed.
- 42:16Speaker 5: I didn't like the port finished one.
- 42:19Speaker 2: No, I didn't either.
- 42:20Speaker 2: The which one?
- 42:20Speaker 2: The port finish?
- 42:20Speaker 2: Yeah, the port finish one?
- 42:21Speaker 2: No, I didn't either.
- 42:21Speaker 2: The port finish yeah, the port I did yeah, I am.
- 42:23Speaker 4: I admit because it's not you know what okay, yeah, it took away the elements of it that were so good.
- 42:30Speaker 4: I agree, but the port finish isn't 15 year old whiskey no, you know what I mean it's just port finish and and then it was just like I really think it's probably better than what you think it is, but because you have the 15 and you so have such high standards for an 80 proof 15 that you do the port finish and you go like, not, it's not happening.
- 42:58Speaker 2: I'm going to drink 15.
- 42:59Speaker 5: But this is affordable.
- 42:59Speaker 2: It's not happening.
- 42:59Speaker 2: I'm going to drink 15.
- 43:00Speaker 2: But this is affordable.
- 43:04Speaker 4: It kind of is.
- 43:05Speaker 2: Well compared to what we drink.
- 43:06Speaker 4: I guess.
- 43:06Speaker 4: Well, when we first started drinking it was 65, right here in Ohio MSRP a couple years ago, but it was 115 at the distillery Now.
- 43:20Speaker 4: It's like 160 at the distillery Now it's like $160 at the distillery and $80 here.
- 43:27Speaker 5: But either way that would go up for $80.
- 43:30Speaker 2: That's not bad.
- 43:33Speaker 4: No, I mean for a 15-year.
- 43:34Speaker 4: That's a good price point.
- 43:36Speaker 4: I mean, I think it exists in a realm of Pappy Van Winkle 15, but without the caramel aspect.
- 43:44Speaker 4: It's like Pappy Van Winkle 15, to me, does not drink like a 15-year-old whiskey.
- 43:50Speaker 2: No, this has lighter fruit notes when that one A little bit lighter, yeah, but it also picks up the oak of the barrel, it does.
- 43:57Speaker 2: Enough, but not too much, and then finishes with that sweet finish that stays.
- 44:02Speaker 2: It has a long sweeter finish.
- 44:04Speaker 2: So it's not so sweet on the front end like a Woodford Double Oak or something and it's, you know it fills the whole mouth.
- 44:12Speaker 2: So the body's really good.
- 44:13Speaker 2: So you can feel it in your front, palate, sides of your cheeks, the tip of your tongue, but without roasting your esophagus all the way down.
- 44:25Speaker 5: You guys got the dry.
- 44:26Speaker 5: It's like a dry plum in there.
- 44:27Speaker 2: There you go, yes yes, yes, like a Give me some.
- 44:31Speaker 2: Give me some, please, it's mine.
- 44:34Speaker 5: Mine, oh, you can have some With like a nice oak and it's back to being an inflection.
- 44:41Speaker 5: It's mine, mine, oh, you can have some.
- 44:42Speaker 5: Exactly.
- 44:50Speaker 4: So I see you guys have 13 colony there, right that middle bottom.
- 44:55Speaker 4: What is that?
- 44:57Speaker 4: Is that the double, double oak?
- 44:59Speaker 4: No, this one is the stripper that middle bottom.
- 45:00Speaker 5: What is that?
- 45:01Speaker 5: Is that the double, double oak?
- 45:01Speaker 5: No, this one is the scraper.
- 45:03Speaker 5: And then you've got to prove.
- 45:07Speaker 5: Steve actually just brought this over today.
- 45:09Speaker 5: You don't have to tell me about this, yeah talk about it because I'm intrigued by it.
- 45:13Speaker 4: I like the distillery.
- 45:14Speaker 4: They sent me two samples.
- 45:16Speaker 4: I haven't done the.
- 45:17Speaker 4: I've tried to be getting together with them to do the podcast but I just can't hook up with them.
- 45:23Speaker 4: You know what I mean.
- 45:24Speaker 4: It's like.
- 45:25Speaker 4: Sometimes you get samples of stuff and you want to wait and they gave me their bourbon and their rye but I haven't been able to hook up.
- 45:32Speaker 4: You know I haven't been able to make it work.
- 45:34Speaker 4: The other aspect is, matt.
- 45:38Speaker 4: There is have you heard about Mount Vernon, george Washington's distillery, where they've basically restored it back to its heritage and they grow the corn.
- 45:53Speaker 4: They have the original mill that grained the corn and the wheat and Steve Beshor he's the master distiller there.
- 46:07Speaker 4: I got to meet him in Pennsylvania at Stolen Wolf when Alan Bishop was doing a veterans' armed service thing that Nash got to be a part of.
- 46:22Speaker 4: So I went there and covered that and, honestly, meeting Steve.
- 46:27Speaker 4: But I want to get up to that Virginia distillery.
- 46:30Speaker 4: We should both go up there together.
- 46:32Speaker 4: I'll drive.
- 46:37Speaker 5: So aren't there ones like a free rent thing where everything that's on, it's like all the storage, is available local or it's right on the property?
- 46:45Speaker 5: Okay, is that the same?
- 46:49Speaker 4: one, I think I read about this, but.
- 46:52Speaker 4: The one that he.
- 46:54Speaker 4: It's in Virginia and he basically is doing making right exactly to the specifications of what George Washington did when he ran his distillery.
- 47:06Speaker 4: It's George Washington's actual distillery.
- 47:09Speaker 4: So all of his stuff is like.
- 47:12Speaker 4: The labels are like Steve just pays attention, the labels are beautiful, it's all about George Washington and they keep doing it now, uh, they keep pulling in pot distillers from across the country to, um, do like mashins and do batches.
- 47:33Speaker 4: But he basically runs it and we're invited to come down and do podcasts and everything.
- 47:38Speaker 4: But if that's the case, I've been trying to get there.
- 47:41Speaker 4: But I'm going to get there either, uh, late, late this year or early spring of next year.
- 47:47Speaker 4: So I would like to you I I'll probably roxy won't be able to go, so I'll probably need a guy to drive along.
- 47:54Speaker 5: Let's go down there okay, let me know, let me know but that place is history, you know what I mean.
- 48:04Speaker 4: It's just in.
- 48:04Speaker 4: It's in virginia, just south of washington dc.
- 48:08Speaker 4: So it's not that far.
- 48:09Speaker 4: It's like seven hours.
- 48:10Speaker 4: But we could even stop at stolen wolf, which is a pennsylvania distiller that is bringing back the rye and the master.
- 48:19Speaker 4: Let's see, I want to say one of the master distillers is the distiller that, the last Michter's distiller before they left Pennsylvania.
- 48:32Speaker 4: That's really cool.
- 48:36Speaker 4: They initially called it, I believe, the Bombergers distillery, but then Michter sued them to stop and so they changed it to Stolen Wolf.
- 48:50Speaker 5: That's really cool.
- 48:50Speaker 5: I think it's right behind the little place.
- 48:53Speaker 5: Awesome, well, I really Awesome.
- 49:21Speaker 4: Well, I really.
- 49:21Speaker 4: Now there's a I mean honestly, even you know like historically there's so many places around us that as pot stills that are the same pot stills that they run at the George Washington Distillery, but they run them in Ohio down, they were actually her great-grandpas that they shut down during Prohibition and then they were put into a barn and Misty and Joe down there Misty, it's her great-grandpa started running them again.
- 49:47Speaker 2: Did you see what Walker said he?
- 49:49Speaker 6: has a 13th colony.
- 49:52Speaker 4: Oh, 13th colony, yeah, so let's get back.
- 49:54Speaker 4: What did you think of the 13th colony?
- 49:57Speaker 4: To be honest with you, we haven't gotten to that one, yet we're going to pull it out.
- 50:01Speaker 5: When that's done, I don't know.
- 50:03Speaker 4: This is awesome.
- 50:04Speaker 4: Oh yeah, Did you guys do the IW Harper port?
- 50:14Speaker 5: I don't see, yeah, you like pass, yeah I would pass too.
- 50:19Speaker 2: Pass, Hard pass yeah.
- 50:22Speaker 5: I'm a pass team Pass Hard pass.
- 50:24Speaker 5: Okay, if I was on the team like you, guys did, I would have done that, but after that one I'm not the biggest fan and too often I get a phone that comes and I get a box and I get another one, but not my jam, not my jam at all.
- 50:37Speaker 2: But this is just me.
- 50:38Speaker 2: But I will give any distillery a challenge to make a port-finished bourbon that I enjoy, because every time we go and we try one, I love other finishes but the port is just not Do you like Angel's Envy.
- 50:55Speaker 5: I have a tattoo of Angel's Envy.
- 50:56Speaker 5: I know you do I know, but do you?
- 50:58Speaker 4: I like Angel's Wings, but do you like Angel's Envy?
- 50:59Speaker 4: I know you do, I know, but do you?
- 50:59Speaker 4: I like Angel's Wings, but do you like Angel's Envy?
- 51:02Speaker 2: Not particularly.
- 51:04Speaker 4: Because all Angel's Envy.
- 51:05Speaker 2: I know.
- 51:06Speaker 4: I know they're all finished.
- 51:07Speaker 4: Every single Angel's Envy is port finished, I know.
- 51:09Speaker 4: Although, have you tried the Angel's Envy, do you?
- 51:12Speaker 2: ever see me drinking Angel's Envy.
- 51:15Speaker 4: I'm going to be getting into it because they're going to start producing.
- 51:18Speaker 2: So when we went on the tasting, there was one that I thought was Okay, but I don't remember what it was.
- 51:25Speaker 4: Rye, no, oh yeah.
- 51:28Speaker 5: Couldn't do it.
- 51:28Speaker 5: She goes, she goes.
- 51:31Speaker 4: I don't remember what it was, but it was the, it was the rye.
- 51:33Speaker 4: Finished rye the port.
- 51:35Speaker 2: Okay, well, maybe because that totally toned down all the rye flavors that you know the pork.
- 51:43Speaker 5: The pork's gonna do that to that overpower the ride and it softens it to where anyone will like it.
- 51:53Speaker 5: That's probably why I liked it and they're like you.
- 52:00Speaker 5: You know what, matt?
- 52:00Speaker 5: This is pretty good.
- 52:01Speaker 5: I said I first, and so that's what I used to do, and then the other ride.
- 52:06Speaker 5: That's how I get people to get on the road, yeah.
- 52:13Speaker 2: Maybe because it's the ports too dry, I mean, maybe that is that dry sort of.
- 52:18Speaker 4: No, it's because when you're dealing with you know what port's good in wassail?
- 52:24Speaker 5: that's it hey, that's it.
- 52:30Speaker 4: We're gonna change that's where it goes in wassail hey so, man, I'll, I'll invite you down for a podcast in the colder days of Ohio, and when you come down we'll try and bring your wife and we'll do a podcast on wassail.
- 52:51Speaker 2: You want me to make my world-famous wassail Because legit it is world-famous, or it could be.
- 52:59Speaker 3: Crazy awesome.
- 53:00Speaker 2: It's world famous, or it could be Crazy awesome.
- 53:00Speaker 4: It's crazy, insane.
- 53:01Speaker 4: I mean, who's against mixing up a concoction on your stove that consists of bourbon and what else?
- 53:12Speaker 4: Rum?
- 53:13Speaker 4: What are all the different things that you've rummed?
- 53:15Speaker 2: It's a secret.
- 53:17Speaker 4: It's a secret.
- 53:25Speaker 2: Anyways.
- 53:25Speaker 2: And then it's got fruit juice and apple cider and mulling spices and everything that goes in it.
- 53:29Speaker 2: It's the perfect combination of mulling spices, oranges, lemons, other secret things, and we keep it going the whole like for a month All you do is just non-stop going more ingredients, but just keep it low.
- 53:45Speaker 4: Simmer on the stove yeah, there's a there's.
- 53:47Speaker 2: There's a very specific beer in there, it's a rough day at work.
- 53:51Speaker 2: You have some wassail and the whole house smells like friends come over christmas and you have wassail and then you know it's just the coolest, the the english.
- 54:01Speaker 4: It's by far what the the english or the british well, that's, that's from my.
- 54:07Speaker 2: That's a little piece of my welsh heritage, yeah, but that that is like the coolest thing.
- 54:12Speaker 4: Americans just don't get into it, but I definitely do people they come over to my house they go what's that smell?
- 54:20Speaker 2: what's that smell?
- 54:24Speaker 5: five minutes and so if we come up early, you can attend.
- 54:30Speaker 4: Oh, hell yeah, so when we do when we do the christmas party.
- 54:34Speaker 4: We basically have a pre-party here, because everybody comes up, everybody comes up and we do the Christmas party, we do the Christmas podcast, and then we do the New Year's podcast, and then we do the pre-Christmas party party, and then we do the Christmas party.
- 55:05Speaker 4: So it starts at 10 o'clock.
- 55:10Speaker 5: It's morning.
- 55:11Speaker 4: It's 10 am in the morning and we do 10 am.
- 55:14Speaker 4: We do the live.
- 55:16Speaker 4: You know Christmas.
- 55:19Speaker 4: No, we do the Christmas podcast and the Bourbon of the Year podcast.
- 55:24Speaker 4: Yeah there's two, so that two o'clock we do the Bourbon of the Year, and then that leads into it with lunch in between, and then that leads into the pre-party where, everybody coming down, I basically open up my bar for anybody to taste anything I got and lunch is I'll cook something delicious and then we head over to javasi, which what, what wassail in the middle.
- 55:56Speaker 5: Oh, we'll just yeah.
- 55:58Speaker 4: Okay so we'll have lunch.
- 56:00Speaker 4: Whip out a wassail podcast with everybody and then we'll do Wassail for breakfast.
- 56:05Speaker 4: I'll include you in the bourbon of the year.
- 56:08Speaker 4: You can get a vote.
- 56:11Speaker 5: Sounds fantastic.
- 56:11Speaker 5: I'll have it on earlier this year and then just bring you can bring Stephen Jay.
- 56:19Speaker 4: It's my man cave, so I've got a 65 inch television with recliners.
- 56:26Speaker 2: Lots of seating, yeah.
- 56:27Speaker 4: You can just, they can just hang out.
- 56:34Speaker 5: And then bring your all right.
- 56:37Speaker 4: Bring your wife as a designated driver.
- 56:42Speaker 2: Who's your designated driver?
- 56:44Speaker 6: You.
- 56:45Speaker 2: What no Uber I?
- 56:48Speaker 2: Just want this year's Christmas party to go a little bit better, wasn't Seth our designated driver last year?
- 56:54Speaker 4: No, last year's Christmas party was living hell.
- 56:56Speaker 4: I had to throw the whole damn thing while you were sick.
- 57:00Speaker 2: Oh, that's true, I had the flu thing while you were sick.
- 57:02Speaker 2: Oh, that's true, I had the flu.
- 57:03Speaker 2: Oh, my God, I was dealing with sick people.
- 57:06Speaker 2: I had the flu so bad, I wanted to go, so bad and I couldn't go and it wasn't COVID, it was a legit flu.
- 57:13Speaker 4: I was drinking bourbon the whole time.
- 57:16Speaker 2: I was laying in bed with the chills dying.
- 57:17Speaker 5: It was terrible, bourbon the whole time I was laying in bed with the chills dying.
- 57:21Speaker 2: It was terrible.
- 57:24Speaker 4: I mean, what I love about Gervasi is the cigar patio.
- 57:28Speaker 4: We were out on the cigar patio.
- 57:31Speaker 2: That was a sad day for me.
- 57:33Speaker 2: I was so sad.
- 57:35Speaker 5: What really makes Gervasi is Mike.
- 57:36Speaker 5: Mike makes Gervasi to me.
- 57:39Speaker 5: I makes Jervasi to me.
- 57:39Speaker 5: I love Mike.
- 57:41Speaker 5: I think it's awesome.
- 57:42Speaker 4: Yeah, because, mike, our night was always Sunday night and we went to Sunday night during COVID for two straight years.
- 57:50Speaker 4: I don't think we missed a Sunday night with Mike.
- 57:53Speaker 4: Now Mike works Sunday nights at the basement.
- 57:58Speaker 2: Sometimes we go there on Sunday nights.
- 57:59Speaker 4: Yeah, we mostly go Friday nights and we go there on sunday.
- 58:01Speaker 4: Yeah, we mostly go friday and we go friday nights to jervasi, if we but we we haven't been to jervasi as much this year as we we normally have, because it kind of sucks to to go to jervasi right and uh, with a broken arm or pulled wisdom teeth, I mean it hasn't been working out, but we might go see Steve-O.
- 58:23Speaker 2: Well, you won't be here, I'm going, maybe by myself.
- 58:26Speaker 3: Or with a date.
- 58:29Speaker 4: Go ahead.
- 58:30Speaker 4: Is it Walker?
- 58:32Speaker 2: No, oh my God, Walker's going to be like having a panic attack.
- 58:36Speaker 2: You're going to make Walker have a panic attack.
- 58:37Speaker 6: He's going to be with me Exactly.
- 58:39Speaker 6: I'm not worried about Walker.
- 58:41Speaker 2: You're on a date with Walker.
- 58:43Speaker 4: Yeah, we're sleeping together.
- 58:45Speaker 4: Oh my god.
- 58:48Speaker 2: I'm sorry, Walker, but he said that so.
- 58:50Speaker 5: Roxy, when you go down and make sure you tell Mike I said look up.
- 58:53Speaker 2: I will, I will.
- 58:54Speaker 2: I got to see Little-O's will be there the last weekend of the month, right, we've determined, or is it this weekend?
- 59:03Speaker 4: I have no idea If you get a chance.
- 59:06Speaker 2: Look at the Stillhouse's entertainment section and come out and see Little.
- 59:11Speaker 2: Steve-o.
- 59:12Speaker 4: Matt, have you gone to Wisconsin yet?
- 59:14Speaker 4: Have you been in Wisconsin, wisconsin?
- 59:16Speaker 5: Wisconsin.
- 59:17Speaker 5: So you've been to Wisconsin, wisconsin.
- 59:19Speaker 5: I've been to Wisconsin because I'm upset for cheese.
- 59:20Speaker 5: So you've been to Wisconsin, sorry, I've been through, so Jay's going to Wisconsin in two weeks here when I'm coming from the Phoenix.
- 59:30Speaker 4: Wait a second.
- 59:30Speaker 4: You're going in two weeks, so not this weekend, but the next weekend, Jay, you're going to Wisconsin.
- 59:38Speaker 5: The week of the 24th it's my wife's birthday, so we normally go on vacation for my wife's birthday and we're going to see my son instead of Wisconsin.
- 59:46Speaker 5: He's in our last year of Wisconsin.
- 59:50Speaker 4: So the 31st and the 1st or this weekend.
- 59:55Speaker 5: It's more of the weekend.
- 59:57Speaker 5: Oh, you moved it from the very beginning.
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: Oh, next month September.
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: You're going September the weekend of the 21st and the 22nd.
- 1:00:10Speaker 5: I would.
- 1:00:11Speaker 5: I'll still talk to you.
- 1:00:12Speaker 5: She's probably watching us now and you have one ticket left.
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: I have.
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: Well, it's your guy that, the guy that you had coming, he had to cancel to go get his daughter, remember, out of Colorado.
- 1:00:27Speaker 5: I don't think that was me.
- 1:00:31Speaker 5: Kevin says don't talk about Wisconsin, he's a Bears fan he's getting married, he has to pay money, but no, I don't think it's a Bears fan.
- 1:00:39Speaker 5: He's getting married and he has to pay money, but no, that wouldn't be an embarrassing thing.
- 1:00:43Speaker 5: He's reading your comment.
- 1:00:49Speaker 4: Wait, wait.
- 1:00:50Speaker 4: One of the guys that, the three people that purchased tickets through you.
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: I thought it was.
- 1:00:58Speaker 4: I thought you knew them.
- 1:01:00Speaker 5: You have me, Steve and Andrew, and we're all three good, You're still going.
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:01:08Speaker 4: I don't know where the other guy that wants to cancel comes from.
- 1:01:12Speaker 4: Then I thought he was one of your guys.
- 1:01:15Speaker 5: Okay, you don't want to say that they're on here, you don't have to.
- 1:01:17Speaker 5: But test it to me.
- 1:01:18Speaker 5: I mean, there's still to.
- 1:01:19Speaker 5: But test it to me, I mean there's still one available.
- 1:01:24Speaker 4: He wants to put up his ticket.
- 1:01:25Speaker 4: That's it.
- 1:01:26Speaker 4: He said I can't refund it unless I get someone else to go.
- 1:01:30Speaker 4: But I told him I would do everything I could to sell it to get someone else to go.
- 1:01:34Speaker 4: So if you have one more guy, all they have to do is pay it and I'll take that money and give it back to him, are you?
- 1:01:41Speaker 5: going.
- 1:01:41Speaker 5: We plead to my wife.
- 1:01:43Speaker 5: My wife, you're working.
- 1:01:45Speaker 5: I feel like if you're going to work tonight, we would really like to go have a bus day and work out.
- 1:01:54Speaker 5: It would be awesome and we could actually get out and work until 8 o'clock every night.
- 1:02:00Speaker 5: Just have fun with us.
- 1:02:03Speaker 4: I mean.
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: There's other ladies on the bus.
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: We'll keep an eye on them.
- 1:02:07Speaker 4: Let's just real quick.
- 1:02:08Speaker 4: Let's just real quick talk about what happens with this bus.
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: Yeah, where is the bus going?
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: Let's talk about it.
- 1:02:13Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:02:14Speaker 4: So I just got from the bus company which I'm going to have to make my second payment September 1st, which everybody paid.
- 1:02:21Speaker 4: So that's no problem.
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: But we got special pours.
- 1:02:25Speaker 4: Why do I keep saying J?
- 1:02:28Speaker 4: Matt already knows all about this?
- 1:02:30Speaker 4: Both Matt, matt goes.
- 1:02:32Speaker 4: Anyways, last year the special pours are like freaking crazy.
- 1:02:40Speaker 4: Now I will tell you this.
- 1:02:40Speaker 4: Then when we finish up, there's even more special pours.
- 1:02:40Speaker 4: Are like freaking crazy.
- 1:02:40Speaker 4: Now I will tell you this.
- 1:02:40Speaker 4: Then when we finish up, there's even more special pours.
- 1:02:43Speaker 4: But you're going to get a bunch of whiskey that you've never tasted before or that's hard to taste.
- 1:02:50Speaker 4: That will be on the bus in between each stop, but the first stop that we are making in the morning is Bardstown Bourbon Company.
- 1:02:58Speaker 4: That we are making in the morning is Bardstown Bourbon Company.
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: Now, normally when we go to Bardstown Bourbon Company we get a tasting and a taste-through from Greg Schneider, who makes Chicken Cock Whiskey, and he lets us taste all the way through new make to the stuff he's releasing right now.
- 1:03:11Speaker 4: But we were sadly informed that Greg's not going to be able to make it but I was informed by the Kentucky Bourbon Boys bus tour that we are going to be doing a thieving tour from barrels we are going into.
- 1:03:30Speaker 4: It's called somebody's corner.
- 1:03:35Speaker 4: Jay's corner, randy's corner, something like that.
- 1:03:38Speaker 4: Anyways, we're going to go into there, we're going to go into that barrel room and we're going to be able to all thieve from a barrel Drink straight from a barrel.
- 1:03:47Speaker 4: Then we're going to go and we're going to have lunch Bring your thieves distillery where steven beam and uh, steven fonte are gonna take us through a single barrel pick.
- 1:04:06Speaker 4: We are going to be able to taste four different bourbons.
- 1:04:10Speaker 4: We're gonna vote and we're gonna pick the single barrel that we would pick now.
- 1:04:15Speaker 4: They will have bottles available of those single barrels so we will be able to purchase them before we leave.
- 1:04:22Speaker 4: Then, when we finish up there, we're headed to Heaven Hill where I'm trying to get Conor O'Driscoll to lead one of their executive bourbon tastings.
- 1:04:51Speaker 4: That also includes lunch at the Bardstown Country Club in between the Bardstown Bourbon Company Thiefing and then going to Yellowstone or Limestone Branch.
- 1:04:54Speaker 4: So we are talking about.
- 1:04:55Speaker 4: Then we finish up back at our Airbnb.
- 1:04:56Speaker 4: We order pizza, which?
- 1:04:59Speaker 4: We pick up on the way that we pick up on the way.
- 1:05:01Speaker 4: So dinner's covered and then we basically sit by the campfire and try not to drive into cornfields.
- 1:05:10Speaker 5: Oh my gosh, you really make that up.
- 1:05:12Speaker 5: Hey man, my wife wants to go to.
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: McGovern.
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: He's like forget it.
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: There's no way I'm going now what?
- 1:05:20Speaker 4: I didn.
- 1:05:20Speaker 4: Going now what I didn't say.
- 1:05:22Speaker 4: I wasn't accusing you Matt.
- 1:05:24Speaker 4: I mean, we just try not to drive into cornfields, that's it.
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: Yeah, we're not saying anybody's ever driven into a cornfield.
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: Yeah, we're just saying try not to.
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: Try not to drive in a cornfield Wink wink.
- 1:05:39Speaker 5: I'm not driving this year Now.
- 1:05:42Speaker 5: I don't have to worry about humans anywhere.
- 1:05:44Speaker 5: I'm good.
- 1:05:45Speaker 4: Yeah, you are, but I have to say, matt, you were way better than your counterpart, matt.
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:05:56Speaker 4: I don't even think Matt knew.
- 1:06:00Speaker 5: He woke up in the middle of a cornfield when I was running through corn stalks like it's good, when am I trying to get?
- 1:06:07Speaker 4: Oh no, hey, Matt, matt, just so you know.
- 1:06:11Speaker 4: All I'm going to say about it is I wish you were recording that shit, because that would have got like, got like a hundred million views yeah, because when those farmers woke up in the morning they were like what the crop circles in my cornfield as we can courtesy and we should write scotchy bourbon of matt and matt and cleveland rocks in a cornfield yeah yeah, I got a Corvette ready to do it.
- 1:06:41Speaker 5: I brought it last year and I'm like I'm not a driver this year anymore.
- 1:06:43Speaker 5: I'm done.
- 1:06:44Speaker 5: That was a blast, though, because even at the point where we did the most ridiculous thing, I had the new CT bottles that he had there.
- 1:06:56Speaker 5: I saw the rare perfection in them and stuff you look at the people.
- 1:06:59Speaker 5: I know and rare perfectionist in the South of Florida People I know did something that's kind of great Well like this is a new one that.
- 1:07:07Speaker 5: I was going to text you on and ask you if you ever heard of it.
- 1:07:10Speaker 5: I'm going to walk right back.
- 1:07:12Speaker 5: A guy who does TikTok videos from Justin's house in Irvin Okay, his favorite bottle is called.
- 1:07:21Speaker 5: I Need this Choice.
- 1:07:23Speaker 5: Have you heard of this bomb?
- 1:07:27Speaker 4: No, I'm surprised it's not a BH Taylor tornado batch.
- 1:07:37Speaker 5: To be honest with you, the guys over there try to help everyone else.
- 1:07:41Speaker 5: What?
- 1:07:42Speaker 5: I mean is find something that anyone else doesn't know of.
- 1:07:45Speaker 5: So it's just kind of the most expensive thing You'll find, the best thing.
- 1:07:49Speaker 5: That's why I'm like I recently just got to be friends with all the guys that live in the hills somewhere around us.
- 1:07:57Speaker 4: What's John saying?
- 1:07:57Speaker 5: Who whiskey taste they could, and one of the guys there had the bottle of the deepest choice.
- 1:08:03Speaker 3: I'll tell you Come over and drink it with us and shoot some videos.
- 1:08:07Speaker 5: It should be really, really fun.
- 1:08:08Speaker 5: The whiskey selection and all of our live videos.
- 1:08:11Speaker 5: They're absolutely ridiculous.
- 1:08:14Speaker 5: I've never seen this many bottles in a room.
- 1:08:17Speaker 4: So what are you doing?
- 1:08:18Speaker 4: What is your schedule for Kentucky Bourbon Festival?
- 1:08:22Speaker 4: Do you got tickets?
- 1:08:24Speaker 5: It's going to go and my wife is going to go with me, but she had to cancel ongoing, so I had to find the ticket to go and my wife was going to go with me, but she had to cancel on going, so I had to go, so I could probably drive back down and I didn't buy it.
- 1:08:39Speaker 5: Okay, I don't know if they sold out or not, but they're sold.
- 1:08:43Speaker 4: Yeah, they just sold out last week, but I figured.
- 1:08:47Speaker 4: So how long are you staying?
- 1:08:55Speaker 5: it was Tuesday night and each other, that one here I took.
- 1:08:59Speaker 5: I'm gonna do the bus car yep yep and then we went back Thursday.
- 1:09:09Speaker 5: I was gonna buy tickets.
- 1:09:11Speaker 5: Come back home, pick up Jonah.
- 1:09:13Speaker 5: Come back Friday, sunday, sunday.
- 1:09:16Speaker 5: But one of our folks from Antlinburg so he's from Sugarlands is getting married in October.
- 1:09:24Speaker 5: So I had to switch the day because I had to pick up.
- 1:09:29Speaker 5: I wanted to come down there and drink with you guys, okay.
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: So wait before you do that.
- 1:09:41Speaker 4: Yeah, which makes sense.
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: So Walker says first person to pass out is still waking up in a cornfield.
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: And John says autograph the corn tass up in a cornfield.
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: And John says autograph the corn tassels with a sharpie.
- 1:09:53Speaker 4: Yeah, autograph the corn tassels.
- 1:09:55Speaker 4: Yeah, that would be awesome.
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: I think a Corvette corn tassel, he said it's not a DUI if I carry you there on my back and drop you off and John says it's a WWI walking while intoxicated.
- 1:10:12Speaker 4: A WWE there you go A WWE.
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: So do you guys have?
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: Any of this we got some funny folks on Facebook tonight Dark Arts yes, that's delicious.
- 1:10:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:10:25Speaker 4: So let's finish up with the Dark Arts, because this is where you just finish up at the end of the night with some damn good whiskey.
- 1:10:36Speaker 5: And I'm over a brand new stack too.
- 1:10:38Speaker 4: Yeah, well, I mean pass me, you should I would say that you should absolutely open up that stag.
- 1:10:46Speaker 4: See what it is.
- 1:10:48Speaker 4: I mean, I mean.
- 1:10:49Speaker 4: I mean there's I, it's hit or miss right.
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: Let's be fast.
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: Was it a hit?
- 1:11:07Speaker 5: The 13 colonies of Eden was kind of out of group.
- 1:11:10Speaker 5: It's been a pretty good day for me and I'm still looking for more, but it's okay.
- 1:11:17Speaker 4: But that 13th colony, what everybody went apeshit over was the double, double oak yeah everybody lost their minds on it and I believe it probably was damn good.
- 1:11:30Speaker 4: I tried to get a sample from them.
- 1:11:32Speaker 4: They sent me a rye and a bourbon and I tried to get the sample and get whatever.
- 1:11:37Speaker 4: They were kind of not for it.
- 1:11:38Speaker 4: Then I said, well, let's just do the podcast anyways, kind of thing, but at the same time you know that's how it?
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: goes.
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: But yeah, I would be interesting to know what that new stag was that when did that get released in ohio?
- 1:11:57Speaker 5: oh, it's nice here.
- 1:11:58Speaker 4: Point three c okay yeah, for stag, I love it.
- 1:12:04Speaker 4: I have like three bottles opened and whatever, but it's kind of like, uh, as you just keep going and you only can drink a little bit of each bottle, at one point, it just comes, becomes pointless.
- 1:12:18Speaker 4: You know what I mean?
- 1:12:21Speaker 5: I got three, four of them overpowers you for the night and they're like know what I'm just trying to get that night and it stays here, yeah.
- 1:12:30Speaker 4: I mean, you got three.
- 1:12:31Speaker 5: I got a couple bottles of avocado juice for five words.
- 1:12:35Speaker 4: I mean you guys on YouTube can see all the whiskey over on this side behind my you know by my cabinet.
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: There's just as much over there that you can't see Behind the screen that you're looking at there's another whole cabinet, and then I got two more cabinets over there.
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: Then I got stacked up bookers and little books by the fireplace.
- 1:12:56Speaker 4: You were saying three.
- 1:12:57Speaker 4: I'm at eight.
- 1:12:58Speaker 4: Matt Cheers to 800 bottles.
- 1:13:02Speaker 4: You have 800?
- 1:13:03Speaker 4: .
- 1:13:03Speaker 4: I now have a bunker.
- 1:13:07Speaker 4: I didn't know what it was.
- 1:13:09Speaker 4: I didn't know what it was, yeah, until I realized I didn't know what it was until the last podcast when I was talking about all the things.
- 1:13:18Speaker 4: Well, I guess I have a bunker Stuff I don't show people.
- 1:13:21Speaker 4: That's in the back, where there's like 80 bottles in the bunker.
- 1:13:26Speaker 5: I got the museum.
- 1:13:27Speaker 5: I think my bunker is the best way I've seen it back.
- 1:13:29Speaker 5: It's only a very little closet.
- 1:13:32Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I got, I got from years ago.
- 1:13:41Speaker 5: I got all four of those, a couple of even rarer.
- 1:13:44Speaker 5: I've seen the ground the ground.
- 1:14:08Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know how the hell you do beer and it's Randy who's El Presidente and president of the Kentucky Bourbon Festival.
- 1:14:18Speaker 4: He's from out of Wisconsin, like me, and he drinks beer.
- 1:14:22Speaker 4: He was a beer guy before he became a bourbon guy once he took over and he still enjoys beer, so beer was always really filling for me.
- 1:14:34Speaker 4: And also I'm one of those people where if I drink uh 20 bud lights, I gain like 15 pounds just in one sitting, where there's guys that I manage all the time they can drink 40 Bud Lights in a weekend and they're skinny as hell.
- 1:14:51Speaker 4: So I don't participate in beer as much.
- 1:14:54Speaker 4: But it's the carbs.
- 1:14:58Speaker 5: So when I put a drink beer in my bunny I drink two beers and that gets me where I can't drive all the time 15%.
- 1:15:08Speaker 5: I enjoy them.
- 1:15:13Speaker 4: I've always been a Guinness guy.
- 1:15:14Speaker 4: I like, I like going to Fathead and having a 12.5% or a 14% I'll have one, but at the same time it still comes down to it's so damn filling and bourbon and whiskey it's like gets me where I want without being bloated on a holiday.
- 1:15:40Speaker 4: What it was coming down to about, like 10 years ago, I'd wear my, I'd have my dress pants on and you know dress pants are always a little bit tight, because the year before you were skinnier and you know I'd wear my sweater.
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: But by the end of the night man nothing was fitting.
- 1:16:01Speaker 3: So I can like wear my dress clothes and have a couple.
- 1:16:05Speaker 5: I'm going to give you a beer when we find the bus.
- 1:16:08Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:16:09Speaker 5: Because I have a different thought of beer than most people do, and you'll understand why I do a couple.
- 1:16:14Speaker 5: Okay, yeah, bring it.
- 1:16:19Speaker 3: Bring a Okay, I challenge.
- 1:16:25Speaker 5: I want a bourbon-finished beer.
- 1:16:26Speaker 5: Okay, I'll bring it.
- 1:16:27Speaker 5: It has to be unspoiled, okay, so we have to somehow keep it cold.
- 1:16:34Speaker 4: Bring it cold, just bring it in a little cooler, we can bring coolers on the bus.
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: The whole idea.
- 1:16:42Speaker 4: As Matt, as you know, the whole idea of the bus is not like what normal driving around is.
- 1:16:50Speaker 4: The whole idea of the bus is you can bring whatever you want yeah, drink whatever you want while
- 1:16:54Speaker 5: you're driving because the drives.
- 1:17:01Speaker 4: I'm the boss longer yeah, is that, jay, that that you're trying to get trying to?
- 1:17:06Speaker 5: explain to that to Steve, but I think I'm bored all day.
- 1:17:09Speaker 5: But let me just tell you, there's so much stuff that brings through that gets crazy.
- 1:17:13Speaker 6: Oh yeah.
- 1:17:15Speaker 4: And then you go to the distilleries and they got shit.
- 1:17:17Speaker 4: I mean it's a frickin' blast Plus we're being recorded by Bo Cumberland the whole time and you guys are going to be on TV.
- 1:17:31Speaker 5: Mm-hmm, I was actually thinking of doing a couple lives from where we go to places if we're allowed, we're allowed, we're allowed.
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: Yeah, do it If we're allowed.
- 1:17:36Speaker 5: If we buy the bottle from there, we'll come back and do a bottle a share after that and.
- 1:17:40Speaker 5: I'll have a bunch of guys from the island being caught with us.
- 1:17:44Speaker 3: Yeah, you can do it.
- 1:17:45Speaker 5: You can pull it out of the barrels.
- 1:17:47Speaker 5: What do you think about what you're saying?
- 1:17:51Speaker 4: I'm bringing my thief, your thief.
- 1:17:53Speaker 4: We'll have it all.
- 1:17:54Speaker 4: It'll be all.
- 1:17:56Speaker 4: It will be a blast.
- 1:17:59Speaker 4: This one is even better than last year, I mean.
- 1:18:07Speaker 4: And then I'll just keep trying.
- 1:18:08Speaker 4: I'm going to try and get Nick's.
- 1:18:10Speaker 4: I contested Greg Schneider to try and get Nick Smith to lead our tour when we do the taste.
- 1:18:17Speaker 4: Who is the master distiller of Barstown Bourbon Company?
- 1:18:21Speaker 4: Nick's a great guy.
- 1:18:23Speaker 5: So That'd be awesome.
- 1:18:24Speaker 5: And then we definitely have Stephen Fonte.
- 1:18:25Speaker 4: And then we definitely have Stephen Fonte, and if you ever met Stephen Fonte man, that guy is Mr Yellowstone, one of the great ambassadors.
- 1:18:35Speaker 4: He will be in the Bourbon.
- 1:18:40Speaker 5: Hall of Fame soon.
- 1:18:41Speaker 4: Works for Yellowstone.
- 1:18:42Speaker 4: Yeah, Stephen Fonte.
- 1:18:43Speaker 4: Yeah, he works with Stephen Beam for Yellowstone.
- 1:18:46Speaker 4: He's been on the podcast three or four times.
- 1:18:50Speaker 4: We went down and actually hung out with him and did a podcast from his backyard.
- 1:18:53Speaker 4: He had us down and that guy loves cigars.
- 1:18:57Speaker 4: So you're like drinking Yellowstone bourbon at a rate of you probably shouldn't be and you're smoking cigars.
- 1:19:06Speaker 5: I get it, that's great.
- 1:19:09Speaker 6: Next time you go out.
- 1:19:10Speaker 5: I'll go.
- 1:19:11Speaker 4: Yeah for sure, uh would love to have the yellowstone box.
- 1:19:16Speaker 5: They're hard to shave but like they don't.
- 1:19:19Speaker 4: Yeah, because we have the normal yellowstone cast yeah, but that's, that's a, that's a barrel pick right there.
- 1:19:24Speaker 4: Those are beautiful.
- 1:19:25Speaker 5: I love those but then the ones that are those black bottles.
- 1:19:29Speaker 5: They're like the maple ones that come to Ohio Once.
- 1:19:33Speaker 5: I mean, yeah, those are my fans.
- 1:19:34Speaker 5: I'm like why.
- 1:19:38Speaker 4: Yeah, they, they, and then they got they got minor case and then their Yellowstone and then there's a.
- 1:19:47Speaker 4: They got their special, which I'll finish up with.
- 1:19:51Speaker 4: I think it's right over here.
- 1:19:52Speaker 4: It's a small bottle.
- 1:19:54Speaker 4: Can I get around?
- 1:19:55Speaker 4: Where is it?
- 1:19:57Speaker 4: It's like little and small.
- 1:20:00Speaker 4: It's white labeled.
- 1:20:01Speaker 4: Let me see.
