- 0:26entry into the circle of countries with strategic
- 0:29deterrent capability. The achievement affirmed
- 0:32France's national scientific and military independence
- 0:36and reshaped European security by adding a new

- 2:49Sunny mornings send you. Massachusetts is exploring
- 2:55a new approach to lower the cost of building
- 2:58housing by potentially eliminating the requirement
- 3:01for a second staircase in mid -rise apartment
- 3:04buildings. Governor Maura Healey recently signed
- 3:07an order to investigate this possibility, which
- 3:10could lead to thousands of new housing units.
- 3:14Currently, the two -staircase rule restricts
- 3:16the number of apartments that can fit on smaller
- 3:19urban lots, pushing developers towards larger
- 3:22properties. The state estimates that nearly 5
- 3:26,000 parcels near public transit could be developed,
- 3:29possibly creating up to 130 ,000 new units. Fire
- 3:34safety officials will evaluate whether modern
- 3:37technology makes single staircases safe before
- 3:40any rule changes. Now on to sports. This year's
- 3:50Olympic medals are generating chatter. for their
- 3:52defects in price. Several athletes reported their
- 3:56medals detaching from their ribbon, causing dents,
- 3:59and in one case, breaking in half. In response,
- 4:04the Olympic organizing committee is rechecking
- 4:06all the medals. American skier Breezy Johnson
- 4:10said, I was jumping in excitement, and it broke,
- 4:13and warned others, don't jump in them. Olympic
- 4:18organizing committee spokesperson Luca Casassa
- 4:21acknowledged issues and encouraged athletes to
- 4:24return faulty medals for repair. Despite the
- 4:27problems, the gold and silver medals are worth
- 4:30the most they have been in a century due to soaring
- 4:33precious medal prices. In local sports, Tristan
- 4:38Casas has arrived at spring training and is already
- 4:41causing a stir among fans. Once seen as a key
- 4:45piece for the Red Sox, he now faces pressure
- 4:47to prove he belongs, after struggling with injuries
- 4:50and a disappointing performance last season.
- 4:54His recent appearance wearing a red ski mask
- 4:56in 80 -degree weather drew criticism, with some
- 5:00fans viewing it as a desperate bid for attention.
- 5:04With new competition for first base and designated
- 5:06hitter roles, Casas has a lot to prove in the
- 5:09coming weeks as he aims to secure his future
- 5:12with the Sox. In top news, Amazon's Ring has
- 5:18terminated its partnership with police tech company
- 5:21Flock Safety. This decision followed backlash
- 5:25from a Super Bowl advertisement promoting a search
- 5:28party feature that uses artificial intelligence
- 5:30to help locate lost pets. Privacy advocates criticized
- 5:35this feature, calling it a surveillance nightmare.
- 5:39Ring's spokesperson stated that the partnership
- 5:42was never active. and no videos were ever shared
- 5:45between the services. Amazon acquired Ring for
- 5:49$839 million in 2018. The company aims to reposition
- 5:55itself, focusing on crime prevention while navigating
- 5:59scrutiny over privacy issues. In business news,
- 6:05on February 8th, sports fans watching the Super
- 6:08Bowl were treated to an advertisement for Claude.
- 6:11an artificial intelligence chatbot. This might
- 6:14have given investors with long memories an unsettling
- 6:18sense of deja vu. In the present, investors'
- 6:22confidence in today's emerging technology has
- 6:24begun to wobble as companies prepare to spend
- 6:27astonishing amounts of money on it. Recently,
- 6:31Alphabet, Amazon, Meta, and Microsoft announced
- 6:34a combined expenditure of $660 billion on artificial
- 6:39intelligence in the coming year. However, concerns
- 6:43about high share prices and inflation are making
- 6:46markets feel jittery. Investors are searching
- 6:49for ways to hedge their equity risk, but auctions
- 6:52appear limited. In crypto movement, Bitcoin is
- 6:57down 14 % for the week. to about $66 ,000. Ethereum
- 7:03is down 15 .5 % to about $1 ,900. And HexRP is
- 7:08down 16 % to $1 .36. Moving on to a more local
- 7:15vibe. In our community spotlight on health and

- 8:01Let's talk tech. Apple says it is still on track
- 8:06to launch new Siri this year, as promised. Bloomberg's
- 8:10Mark Gurman reported that Apple's new Siri initiative
- 8:13faced internal delays, originally planned to
- 8:16start with iOS 26 .4. Gurman suggested features
- 8:20may start appearing in iOS 26 .5 or later in
- 8:24the year. This report has seemingly rocked investor
- 8:28confidence, with Apple stock plummeting today.
- 8:32In response, CNBC's Steve Kovach says Apple confirmed
- 8:36it remains on track to launch new Siri this year,
- 8:39reaffirming earlier promises. Apple has pledged
- 8:43that long -promised features will be available
- 8:45sometime in 2026. And in entertainment news...
- 8:53Dancing with the Stars is exploring a new spinoff
- 8:56series titled Dancing with the Stars, The Next
- 9:00Pro. Season 34 winner Robert Irwin is in discussions

- 9:07may serve as a judge. This news follows the announcement
- 9:11of the inaugural Dancing with the Stars Con in
- 9:14summer 2026. The spin -off will seek the next
- 9:18professional partner for the main series and
- 9:21is set to be produced by BBC, airing on ABC and
- 9:25Hulu. Mark Ballas and his mother, Shirley Ballas,
- 9:29could comprise the judging panel. Tickets for

- 9:40It's time for the quote of the day. And today...
