- 0:00Here's to you. It's supported by One Life
- 0:02Spirits. One Life Spirits is built on
- 0:04purpose, culture, good people and good drinks so you can live
- 0:08one life to the fullest. That means shots that are
- 0:11smooth, tasteful, and pair perfectly with a lime.
- 0:14Or our favorite, in orange. Because if you're still chasing
- 0:17tequila with a lime, what are you doing?
- 0:20That orange slice springs out the bright citrus notes of Una
- 0:23Vida Blanco, which is smooth, authentic and tasteful.
- 0:27Like myself. Plus, Una Vida is 100% additive
- 0:31free, so you're enjoying tequila in its purest form without the
- 0:35hangover regret. Yeah, because it takes us three
- 0:38to five business days to recover now, and hang side is not my
- 0:41friend. That's why you should stick with
- 0:44una Vida or try cocktails instead of shots.
- 0:47OK, love a little. One Life Spirits also crafts El
- 0:50Drago High Post vodkas and LeBron whiskey all bold, smooth
- 0:54and made to share. Whether it's game night, date
- 0:56night or just Tuesday night, they've got the pores covered.
- 1:00Because it's not just about taste, but it's about that
- 1:02feeling. And we're proud spirits noms.

- 2:17Come on. Yeah, it's how it happens.
- 2:23It looks. Like an exorcism in this
- 2:29bathroom. That's funny.
- 2:33Oh, my God, We were actually going to start.
- 2:34But I think this also helps, you know, and get to get used to it,
- 2:38Yeah. It's not like somebody just
- 2:39throws throws you in like, all right, question first.
- 2:41Yeah, yeah, yeah. So anyway.
- 2:59And welcome back to another episode of Here's to You, the
- 3:03podcast presented by One Life Spirits, Allied Health and
- 3:10Secret Investors. Yes.
- 3:14Of which this will be our last venture with.
- 3:17Is this our last? Yeah, this is our last.
- 3:19Recording session in this YEAH office.
- 3:22Yeah, our next one is going to be at a cool place that is a
- 3:27content creator house and that's, that's, that's the
- 3:32little snippet we can say right now.
- 3:33Yeah, 'cause we don't know what else we can say yet.
- 3:36Yeah, especially it's top secret, but it's not top secret.
- 3:39You should let, if you're interested in this content
- 3:42creator house, actually message us because it's not going to be
- 3:46top secret. It's not going to be gatekeep.
- 3:47It's going to be something that anybody can go and rent out.
- 3:51There's going to be a pool there.
- 3:52There's a lot of setup. Yeah, there's a pool.
- 3:54There's a lot of setup places. We're going to be recording at
- 3:56the pool now. Just kidding, it's too cold.
- 3:59Summertime. Yeah.
- 4:00Summertime for. Sure.
- 4:01Speaking of cool spaces, we're sitting here with somebody who's
- 4:05got a very cool space. Oh yes, fax 100%.
- 4:09This person is. I mean, you're saying I'm on
- 4:11camera but like Miguel, Miguel Gnocchio?
- 4:16Alright, so. It's it's the Americanized
- 4:18version Is Jinochio the correct way to say it is Jinochio?
- 4:23Jinochio OK, I knew I needed to practice it more.
- 4:26Jinochio OK, we have Miguel Jinochio here who really, both
- 4:31figuratively and literally, is building community first at the
- 4:36front steps. He is the founder of Front
- 4:39Steps, a storyteller, a community builder.
- 4:42Again, he is creating a space for creatives to be seen, heard
- 4:46and supported. And originally from the Bay
- 4:50Area, but now also building something here in Wichita.
- 4:53He's been bringing people together through music,
- 4:55storytelling, shared experiences from playlists that are telling
- 4:58you who you are or playlists that are just fun so that you
- 5:01can start cleaning your house. But also merch that really
- 5:05represents belonging in moments that remind us that we're not
- 5:08alone. Miguel, you're really building
- 5:10out this really cool community. Space, it's weird.
- 5:12It's like, you know when you read, when you read a birthday
- 5:15card? Yeah, it's like one of those
- 5:17ones. It's like, read it and you're
- 5:20like. Like, you know what I mean?
- 5:22You're like, I know, I know. It's really hard to, like,
- 5:24accept the little flowers, huh? Yeah, I think, I think that's, I
- 5:27think that's that's very true. Because just with a lot of
- 5:32stuff, like when people come down to the space, they'll be
- 5:35like, oh, your space is cool. And I'll be like, oh, I know
- 5:37like, but it's like, I'm like, yeah, I'm like, I don't know.
- 5:41It's like, yeah, it's so it's not.
- 5:43To remain humble. But it's like, I know I'm
- 5:45building this really cool thing and I'm so excited and
- 5:47passionate about it. And then also it's like, but
- 5:50you're seeing me and I'm sorry, but like, I don't vulnerable.
- 5:54Yeah. Like am I?
- 5:55Am I? Am I coming off as I'm showing
- 5:57off? Yeah.
- 5:58Am I braggadocious? You.
- 5:59Know that's how I feel with this, yeah.
- 6:02When it's weird because it's like your, it's your baby too,
- 6:04right? So you want to like show people
- 6:05your baby When, whenever, whenever, it's like whenever.
- 6:13I think it's like a like a crab, you know, when like a crab sheds
- 6:16its skin, It's like that or shell.
- 6:18It's like super vulnerable. I think that's when you're
- 6:21building something you haven't like established it yet.
- 6:23Or maybe in your head you established it, but the world
- 6:27hasn't seen it, right? So it's like you're in that.
- 6:30I don't have a shell like moment where you're like, I'm super
- 6:34vulnerable because like anything can happen.
- 6:36But I'm, I'm growing still, yeah.
- 6:38No, and your space really is super vulnerable from
- 6:41everything, like even just the paintings that you have on the
- 6:44wall. I mean like you're really
- 6:46letting people into your who you are, your personality.
- 6:50This isn't just like a pop up store in terms of like, oh, this
- 6:54looks nice here. No, it's everything is built
- 6:57with so much intentionality. Yeah, it's very curated.
- 7:01I guess that would be the the word for it.
- 7:03But it's like, I think it comes from a place of I just want
- 7:09other people. Sometimes we struggle with
- 7:12seeing our own. I think just what you just said,
- 7:14right? We don't see our own value.
- 7:16So I want people to know that I see them and I want to see how
- 7:21people see other people the way I see those people.
- 7:25Do you get what I'm saying? So it's just, it's really about
- 7:27just giving flowers and stuff like that.
- 7:29So yeah, I feel like I was gonna ask you who, you know, for other
- 7:34people that don't know you, who is Miguel, but I think like you
- 7:36just answered that, yeah, that I feel like that's who you are.
- 7:40It really is. It's it's weird, you know, just
- 7:44like, I don't know, it's like I've always been that person
- 7:48ever since I was like young, but I've always, I think maybe it
- 7:51comes, we're just talking about that like a coming from a place
- 7:53of not having. So knowing that you might have
- 7:57something that somebody else might need that you might not
- 8:00necessarily you see value on it still, but they see more value
- 8:04and they need it for their next journey, right?
- 8:06So it's like, let's give them the space, whatever the
- 8:12exposure, whatever the case may be, so then they can go about
- 8:15their journey. I think that everybody's a
- 8:17lighthouse. Yes, actually, that's what we
- 8:19were talking about. Expand on this the light when we
- 8:21were when we met up, because I thought that was such a really
- 8:24like a great metaphor, the whole lighthouse, like you, you just
- 8:28said this of we're just a part of your journey.
- 8:32But it's not you're not saying it in this like, oh, I'm just a
- 8:34tiny piece. Like, no, I'm well yes you are.
- 8:37But also like an integral piece that was built with some
- 8:40intentionality. Yeah, so I was fortunate enough
- 8:43to, I had think 5 lighthouses in my, in my life of people who
- 8:49like helped me out, like when I was down, you know, like super
- 8:52down. And there's no way that I can
- 8:56ever repay those people. Like I've tried, you know, we
- 8:59take you out to dinner. Hey, you know, leaving money in
- 9:02their house and just being like, Hey, I just I can't repay that.
- 9:07So how I can repay that is just being a person like that, right?
- 9:11And being a person that's just like, hey, I know I can't help
- 9:14you for your full journey, right?
- 9:16But I can help you for this small portion of time, whether
- 9:19it's like you're just telling somebody have a nice day or
- 9:22you're just having people feel value at that moment, or if
- 9:26it's, you know, just helping somebody out again with
- 9:29something that you may not it might not spark spark joy for
- 9:33you, but you know, it sparks short for them or it helps them
- 9:37with their travel. You know, if you're playing
- 9:38Zelda, I can't imagine that, right?
- 9:41Some like old guy like here, you're going to need this.
- 9:43Join your journey. I was wearing a really cool ass
- 9:50orange hat. Yeah, exactly.
- 9:52But the wizard with the hat, it's like.
- 9:53Wizard. With that, yeah, it was like,
- 9:55hey, you need this for your journey.
- 9:57And I just said that's just how I see it, you know?
- 10:00Yeah, it's like. I don't think we're in
- 10:02everybody. Unfortunately, we're not, right?
- 10:04That's that's a, that's a reality that we're not in
- 10:07everybody's life all the time. But it doesn't mean that just
- 10:12because you're not in their lives anymore that they didn't
- 10:15bring value to you, right? Whether these people are like
- 10:17have moved on, like spiritually or they have moved on.
- 10:21I'm talking about like you send it to like they passed away or
- 10:24whatever. It doesn't mean that they you
- 10:25just forget about them, right? And then you give it for
- 10:27friends, like you have friends when you were like, I don't
- 10:30know, six years old or something like that.
- 10:33And then they helped you. These people like, oh, he
- 10:35exposed me to Nintendo Wii used to go to eat Pop Tarts and stuff
- 10:39like that. So those, those little stories
- 10:41make a difference in your life. So you have to be mindful of
- 10:45that. So I think that's where the
- 10:47Lighthouse kind of comes from. Yeah, yeah.
- 10:50And man, I, I loved that metaphor when you described it
- 10:54about how I, for me, I'm such a visual thinker that like, I
- 10:58really did think of like someone coming like, I think like when
- 11:01we get to the point where like we can maybe do this full time
- 11:04and like, I'm just going to be drawing out a bunch of these
- 11:06things, a bunch of these conversations, but and.
- 11:10That's it because everybody's conversation even like us
- 11:13linking up, but then like how this all came about and like,
- 11:18and I think that's the reason why the sound checks are so
- 11:20important. It's like you're giving somebody
- 11:24it's, it's not clout, right, because it can be easily seen as
- 11:27like clout, like, Hey, I'm giving you some exposure and
- 11:30stuff like that. But if it's like truly done
- 11:32right to truly done correctly, it's like, Hey, I acknowledge
- 11:36which I see what you're doing and I'm just want to put a light
- 11:39on it to help you get to the next spot because you never
- 11:42know, somebody might be down. You guys, like a lot of people
- 11:45will be going through real that go through real shit and and
- 11:48next, you know, it's like, damn, what could I have done to help
- 11:51them, right? We'll use it as an in the term
- 11:53of like a small business, right? So a small business can really
- 11:57be going through some stuff and then next, you know, we close,
- 12:00they're getting ready to close. And then, you know, somebody
- 12:03writes a review on it and they're like, hey, this store
- 12:06is, you know, this place is closing.
- 12:07And then we're like, oh, let's go save them.
- 12:09It's like Nah, why do we have to wait?
- 12:11Yes. Why do we have to wait to make
- 12:14somebody feel important, to have somebody feel seen Like Nah,
- 12:18like if you're. If you really vibe with them,
- 12:21vibe with them. Stop.
- 12:22Yeah. You know, like some.
- 12:23Cool guys, Yeah. Like stop with the whole
- 12:25nonchalant shit, Yeah, Like why are we acting?
- 12:28Like, just like my shit, you know what I mean?
- 12:30It's like, hey, I see you what you're doing.
- 12:31And it, it gets weird 'cause it's, it's Internet, right?
- 12:34And you're like, you kind of want to be creepy.
- 12:36Yeah, and it's like, it's not. Why are you acting that way?
- 12:38You're following someone else who has a lot more.
- 12:41That's yeah, that's but that's our that's our mindset though,
- 12:44right? That has a lot to do with it,
- 12:46like our mindset and how we like we view view the world, right?
- 12:50We can't we can help everybody else, right?
- 12:52We can go buy Coca-Cola all day and all that stuff, but then we
- 12:57not won't necessarily help a friend, help a friend, but just
- 13:01to go back to it's just showing love, man.
- 13:04I think that's really what it is.
- 13:06So if you can change the word from support to love or to
- 13:10whatever like it's. Yeah, Yeah.
- 13:13Those are like and like what you're trying to build with the
- 13:16sound check. Exactly.
- 13:18And it's just like just show love and and stuff like that,
- 13:20'cause we're all going through some shit, you know what I mean?
- 13:23Where everybody's going through some shit.
- 13:25So we just have to be mindful of that, You know what I mean?
- 13:27Whether it's whether if you're faking it too, because there's a
- 13:29lot of people out there that fucking act like they get it all
- 13:32together and then. But I think like that's, I mean,
- 13:37one, I get it, like sometimes like we're all trying to get
- 13:42through our shit right? And mask, we're all masking.
- 13:47But I think like, or at least like that's why we try to have
- 13:51more of these types of conversations that are anything
- 13:54and everything, all the interests who you are, but then
- 13:56like what you're trying to do and then all of your random
- 13:59interests because like, let's take the masks off here.
- 14:02You guys know the song Eleanor Rigby by The Beatles?
- 14:06That's like one of my alright, so this is like in my 20s,
- 14:10right? I get like we're doing we're,
- 14:14you know, we're experimenting. And I remember Eleanor Rigby
- 14:18like hit me heavy. Like it was just like about how
- 14:22she keeps her, what is it like she keeps her mask, like her
- 14:27mask by the door or whatever. It was like a line in there that
- 14:31Paul says. And I'm like, damn, like I just
- 14:33got the visual. So I'm a visual person too.
- 14:35And I got the visual and I was like, damn, like we're all
- 14:37wearing. I was like, we're all wearing
- 14:38masks. You know what I mean?
- 14:40Yeah. Yeah, it just depends on like
- 14:42who's knocking at the door, right and what match you put on.
- 14:44So. And it's not to say that people
- 14:47are fake either. No, it's not that.
- 14:50It's deeper than that and it's not, you know, and that's.
- 14:53Crab with the shell. It's the crab with the shell,
- 14:55that's what it is. Yes, and and then like once we
- 14:58can realize that about all of us, it's just like that's when
- 15:01we can really be graceful towards each other and then
- 15:03realize too, like shit's not that deep, you know what I mean?
- 15:07Like, yeah, it's like, or, you know, going back to what you
- 15:11were saying, how like maybe we don't always want to go and like
- 15:14stuff or support stuff. Like man, a lot of people will
- 15:17be like, oh, that like on that story meant something to me.
- 15:20I'm like, man, I shall look to everyone.
- 15:21I'd be liking everything. I'd be like like like.
- 15:24Yeah, you get in trouble. I seen you.
- 15:28You liked your picture. I was like, fuck.
- 15:29I just support what they're doing, dude.
- 15:31You know what I mean? Yeah, I'm like hell yeah.
- 15:32It was a bomb. Aspect, you know what I mean?
- 15:34Yeah, I was like, take, take everything else out of it,
- 15:37right? Like strip everything down and
- 15:39then it's like, I'm just wanna show support, you know what I
- 15:42mean? And I think we just get caught
- 15:44up in that. I think we get caught up with,
- 15:45you know, I've read a lot of books, right?
- 15:47And there's a lot of bullshit on Can I cuss on here?
- 15:50Yeah, yeah, yeah. So.
- 15:54Like hell. Yeah, I just felt like it was
- 15:55underlined. Do you know what I mean?
- 15:56I was like bullshit, like, but I think what it is is like we look
- 16:03online and everybody seems to have it together.
- 16:06And I think that we go online and we look at these people and
- 16:09they're like, no one wants to deal with the person that's like
- 16:13amateur, right? And every like, and it's like,
- 16:15dude, my accolades are crazy. Like what I've done for other
- 16:19businesses is crazy so and like the culture that I have built
- 16:24for other places, but it's like I don't want to be the expert.
- 16:28I don't want to be the person that's like follow me.
- 16:31Like I don't, I don't want to. I don't want to be a savior.
- 16:33Like I don't, I don't want to be that.
- 16:34I want to be in. You want to be part of it.
- 16:36I want to be a part of the journey, right?
- 16:37I want to. I want to walk beside you.
- 16:40I don't. That's how I describe myself all
- 16:42the time too. Like, no, go ahead.
- 16:44No, no, no, no, no, no. I.
- 16:45Yeah, like, because it's just like you get to a point where
- 16:50you have learned a lot and you you're really applying it.
- 16:54But let's like, I'm not like you sometimes you'll probably find
- 16:58yourself, I'm curious, you'll probably find yourself in
- 17:00leadership positions are getting pushed into leadership positions
- 17:03and you're like, I don't want to do that.
- 17:05I like being a person that's in the weeds.
- 17:07I love just being able to walk with you.
- 17:10That's what I want to do. Like I can bring my skill set of
- 17:13this into this. But I want to remind you that
- 17:16you are still who you are. And because we're collaborating,
- 17:19this is going to be a lot better.
- 17:20So I, I put a lot of this like I and I don't see myself in this.
- 17:25I and I, I say this and like the part of my brain is says like, I
- 17:30just probably not, shouldn't say this, right?
- 17:32It's like the Harriet Tubman kind of thing, right?
- 17:35It's like she saved like a whole bunch of people from slavery,
- 17:40right? And then, but she never really
- 17:43got to enjoy the fruits of her labor, right?
- 17:46So I think with front steps, it's like, I don't think I'm
- 17:49ever going to get to a point where I can like enjoy the
- 17:52fruits because I feel like there's always stuff that I need
- 17:54to do, right? It's never, it's never going to
- 17:56be done right. And that actually just speaks to
- 17:59my character, which is what kind of sucks is that I'm never like
- 18:02truly satisfied, right? It's like you can have the
- 18:05perfect performance and then next thing you know, you're
- 18:07like, now that sucks. Like, Oh, I could have did that,
- 18:10like I walked out different or you know, I could have corrected
- 18:13that word. So I'm always like trying to
- 18:15self adjust, which a long time ago self digesting was a good
- 18:18thing, right? But you know, I think nowadays
- 18:22we are like, you have to be perfect all the time.
- 18:25And it's like, no, like you should give yourself the room to
- 18:28grow and to blossom and to go back to the sound checks.
- 18:31I think that's the cool thing, right?
- 18:33So if anybody ever gets big, right, and they are, they get
- 18:36like, I want them to be able to look back and be like, damn,
- 18:38like at that moment, like, I didn't think I had it together,
- 18:43You know what I mean? Because there's people who come
- 18:44on there and they're like, hey, we're going to do this.
- 18:46We're going to do this and they do it.
- 18:48And then, you know, I hit them up and I'm like, hey, like I was
- 18:50like, hey, remember you said that you did.
- 18:52And it's not like me wanting to be a part of their journey.
- 18:56It's like you're, you're just excited.
- 18:57I'm just excited. I'm like bro, like it's.
- 18:59You're showing love. It's going back to what you were
- 19:01saying, like you want to be able to show that love.
- 19:03You don't need to wait for it. Yeah.
- 19:04And it's like, dude, you did it. And you know, we had, we had
- 19:07somebody on, we had a couple people on that set goals and
- 19:10they obtained those goals. And, you know, when they hit
- 19:13their goals, be in the DM and I'll be like, hey, like you
- 19:16talked about that on the show. Like I was like, the walls are
- 19:18magical, you guys. You know what I mean?
- 19:20Like, yeah. And you spoke.
- 19:22That into existence. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 19:24And a lot of people come on, they do their sound check and
- 19:27they're like, we'll talk when the camera's off.
- 19:29And they're like, oh, I got this going on.
- 19:31And then I'm like, one of the questions is like, what do you
- 19:33got going on? And they're like, yeah, yeah, I
- 19:37don't know what I got. I was like, dude, we just talked
- 19:38about it for 20 minutes. Like that's what you need to
- 19:40say. And I know it applies pressure
- 19:43to you, so you're mindful of it, right?
- 19:44But then at the same time, like, like speaking into existence,
- 19:49you know what I mean? So especially because the the
- 19:52space is so curated, like we're I'm very mindful of the energy
- 19:56that comes in and so like. It should work, right?
- 20:01Because you have all these positive energies and all these
- 20:03people dreams inside of a space. And so you have to because you
- 20:09have others fighting for you, right?
- 20:10And I think that's why the support system is so, so
- 20:12important. Yeah, OK, let's, let's we've
- 20:16kind of circled around the support system because some
- 20:19people who are who don't know you, I mean, we're going to have
- 20:22people who listen, who know you, who are going to listen to it.
- 20:24But we're going to have people who don't know you.
- 20:26Hi, My name's Miguel. But like, OK, talk a little bit
- 20:32about like what the sound check is, but also talk about the
- 20:36front steps you're in, like your, your steps, what you're
- 20:42making there, you know, like how can you get in?
- 20:44What is it like? Yeah, so, so I guess we'll start
- 20:48with what the support system is. So the support system is
- 20:51literally everyone. Everybody is a support system.
- 20:54We just put the label on it, right.
- 20:56So it's like, you know, when you go through some stuff, you'd be
- 20:58like, you just need to reach out to your little support.
- 21:01You need a support, good support system.
- 21:02So yeah. So it's like it's just again,
- 21:05it's just being mindful of your support system now, your
- 21:08supports the support system now and why we do the sound checks
- 21:12is 1. My dad used to do mixtapes for
- 21:15like friends and stuff like that.
- 21:16And I remember just waking up on like Saturday mornings and like
- 21:20he had like the Kenwood speakers or like fifteens or twelves in
- 21:23the house. I remember the windows was shake
- 21:25and it was like I was not allowed to like my dad worked
- 21:31like 60 hours a week wow. And like so I would never see
- 21:35him but I would know when he was like it was time.
- 21:37It was like tiptoe around the house cuz I hate work.
- 21:40He worked nights and it's like tiptoe don't make him any noise
- 21:42right? But then like I knew he was like
- 21:45coming out to play because the music would be on.
- 21:46I'm like, fuck, I guess it's time to wake up, you know?
- 21:49So when? You wake up to your mom, like to
- 21:52all the Spanish music playing. I'm like, I guess I'm cleaning
- 21:55today. Yeah.
- 21:56I smell the fabuloso. Yeah.
- 22:00So it's like, all right, You're like, OK, all right, all right.
- 22:03It's time to wake up. So.
- 22:05But my dad was like that. And I remember he would just
- 22:07like, write out playlists for his friends and and stuff like
- 22:10that. And then like for birthdays and
- 22:12whatever. And so that was always in my
- 22:17DNA, right. Yeah.
- 22:18So it. Was it was a gift?
- 22:20Yeah, yeah, it was. It was weird because like the
- 22:22gift of music from my dad was true.
- 22:25Like I don't even know where I would be without that.
- 22:27I you know, so when we start doing the sound checks, you
- 22:31know, it started off as us just doing like, hey, can you make a
- 22:35playlist? Cuz I think it'd be cool.
- 22:36Like cuz I like that's very intimate.
- 22:39You doing a playlist for somebody, right?
- 22:41It's like. It is, I mean, like I think
- 22:43that's the last start of it though too now that we're all
- 22:46streaming, like that's not a huge thing anymore and it's sad.
- 22:50It's like, God, I remember like, or, or, you know, when you're
- 22:54like, when you can't easily get access to the song lyrics or you
- 22:59had to buy a CD and sometimes they have the song lyrics in
- 23:01there or also like, where you're just like playing the thing and
- 23:04then you're writing it down on your notebook.
- 23:06Yeah. What song is this?
- 23:09Yeah, yeah. What?
- 23:10Like all those kind of things? Or like you cherish that CD too.
- 23:13Right. Yeah.
- 23:14There's some CDs that I still have and I'm like hopefully to a
- 23:17place that got to that scratch looks a little big, you know?
- 23:20And you would actually go and clean them?
- 23:22Oh my God. I still.
- 23:24Remember the? It's a lost art.
- 23:25Form you just. Store them different.
- 23:27You just didn't care like with your phone, it's like whatever
- 23:30you just like you toss it and if I get logged out or it's what I
- 23:33can find these songs again. So I think that is a piece of
- 23:36it, right? And again, if we ever get to a
- 23:38point, and I don't own Spotify, I don't own Instagram, these
- 23:42things could get shut down at any time, right?
- 23:44But hoping that they last for forever and our account doesn't
- 23:49get shut down or flagged or whatever the case may be, right?
- 23:52If that stays up long after I'm gone, like we'll be active, be
- 23:57able to access those playlists, we'll be accessed, be able to
- 24:00access those those songs, right? And so like if something happens
- 24:05to anybody who's been on the sound check, their families can
- 24:08go on there and be like, it's and now it gets, it gets, it
- 24:12gets really, it gets really, it gets really deep.
- 24:14But like, that's literally how my brain, my brain.
- 24:17Works, but I'm glad that you said that because going back to
- 24:21that lost art form of writing songs and down and all of that,
- 24:24my mom has passed and we a long time, not a long time ago, but
- 24:30maybe a couple of months after she passed, we found a a little
- 24:33like just sticky notepad type of thing and it was in the kitchen
- 24:38and it was songs that she had written down and and it was just
- 24:42a set of songs and so that. Fucked you up.
- 24:45Huh. Yeah, Oh my God, yes.
- 24:47And like the amount of times that me and my sister or just in
- 24:50our sibling chat 'cause we we all talk, 'cause we don't want
- 24:53to forget this memory. It's legacy.
- 24:55Yeah, it's, you know, we never want to forget her.
- 24:57So anyways, we're I'm always like send me that picture again
- 25:00because I need to make this into a playlist.
- 25:01Like when I'm feeling like I really miss her, I want to go
- 25:05listen to these songs that she wrote down in this notebook, in
- 25:09this notepad. And my dad, like, had all types
- 25:12of lists. He would just write like, he had
- 25:14like a notebook. And it would be like songs like
- 25:18what he wanted to like songs he would like to get.
- 25:20And it stuck because he passed away in 2019.
- 25:23So like, yeah, it's when you lose a parent, it sucks because
- 25:28it's like that void is never filled.
- 25:31No, it's not. And I think that's the, there's
- 25:34songs now that I can't even like, I'm like, turn it off.
- 25:37Like soon. Immediately I'm like turn it
- 25:39off. But there's sometimes that I'll
- 25:41lean into it and I'm like, oh, like I'll cry and shit like
- 25:44that. And I'm a big guy, you know what
- 25:46I mean? But like, I'm ex.
- 25:48Yeah, I'm ex when I'm, I'm extra sensitive too.
- 25:52Like, you know what I mean? So like I'll lean into it.
- 25:55I'm like, oh, like, you know, when I was my son's age, I was
- 26:01my my dad's age and my son, when I was my son's age, I'm my dad.
- 26:04That was where my dad's at. You get what I'm saying?
- 26:06Yeah. OK.
- 26:07So like, I'm like, damn. How old is your son again?
- 26:091818, yeah. So dude.
- 26:11You were. Young, yeah.
- 26:13So no, he passed when I was older.
- 26:15But oh, OK, OK, OK. Just.
- 26:17Right 20. 19 Yeah yeah when I was when I was mentality wise
- 26:21like just seeing where he was like the music he was listening
- 26:25to and like what he was doing, I'm like damn.
- 26:26Like we're literally on the same trajectory.
- 26:30You get what I'm saying? I'm like, oh, I'm like at this
- 26:34age he was making playlists for his friends.
- 26:36I was like, now I'm making playlists with my friends.
- 26:40Do you get what I'm saying? And it's like and it's like
- 26:43that's that's kind of cool. It's like.
- 26:44And that kind of speaks to like 1 not to derail this, but like
- 26:52trauma, all that stuff, your childhood, it's, it's in your
- 26:55DNA. It's in your DNA.
- 26:57So like if there's something that you need to correct, you
- 26:59need to be mindful to correct it.
- 27:00If there's something that you, you don't want to change and
- 27:06you, it's already in your DNA. So it'll pop up even if you try
- 27:09to like people are like, I don't want nothing to do with my
- 27:12parents. I'm like, shit's gonna pop.
- 27:13Up, bro. Yeah.
- 27:14That shit's gonna work on. It hey, yeah, I mean, it is.
- 27:16It'll still pop up too when you work on it because triggers
- 27:19happen. And then you have to remember,
- 27:20like, what? How am I going to respond to
- 27:22this? Am I gonna respond in an old
- 27:24way, or am I gonna respond to the new way?
- 27:27I still, I just, I still can't build furniture, like, you know
- 27:30what I mean? Like I just, I know, I know the
- 27:33trauma from my dad. I'm just like, no, I was like, I
- 27:35remember he would just break in and buy a new one.
- 27:38I was like, what's like sweetest dude?
- 27:41My dad would just black out on like a anything.
- 27:44I remember he's just making like a CD rack and it had like the
- 27:46glue and it was like, yeah, I was like, remember he like, just
- 27:50got mad. And I remember he got mad and he
- 27:52was like, I just need you to move.
- 27:53And I was like, move. I was like in the middle.
- 27:55And I was like, oh, OK. And he just like, yeah, I was
- 27:59like, man, that's crazy. You know, you just, I don't
- 28:01know, like in your DNA or whatever, you know, So.
- 28:05Yeah. Yeah.
- 28:06So the sound check and what you're doing there is and you're
- 28:11trying to get people again to be able to do that.
- 28:13So now talk about front steps, your office space, what how
- 28:18people can access. So what do you?
- 28:19Do Miguel, what do you do? What do you do So front steps,
- 28:24it's it's actually acronym. So it's like future
- 28:26representatives of now and then, right.
- 28:28So that part right there and I'll say that again, future
- 28:32representatives of now and then, right.
- 28:34So that's just speaks to the legacy, right?
- 28:36So whether it's then or if it's in the future, like we're all
- 28:41going to be representing something, right?
- 28:43So it's just being mindful of legacy.
- 28:46Now the steps, the steps part, spit my tongue, excuse me, but
- 28:50the steps part is success through every person's support.
- 28:55So you can replace it with happiness.
- 28:57You can replace it with success with through every person's
- 29:01love, whatever the case may be, but without us supporting each
- 29:05other, whether it's alike, whether it's having a good day,
- 29:08Hey, I acknowledge what you're doing, We won't be successful
- 29:12and successful won't feel the same, right?
- 29:14We also talked about like success, What does success look
- 29:18like? Everybody's different, right?
- 29:19But I think at the end of the day, you just want people.
- 29:22People just want to be happy, right?
- 29:24And happiness, happiness does not hit if you're, if you're not
- 29:31with people, right? You can be, you see it all the
- 29:35time, millionaires and these people are like, I'm just so
- 29:38unhappy. And it's like, you know, there
- 29:40was like, or Michael Jackson was a prime example of that.
- 29:42Yeah, like that's that's like had this crazy amount of
- 29:46success, but then you can't go outside, right?
- 29:49And it's like, or you don't have anybody to share it with, right.
- 29:52So then you get you're just with yourself self regulating and,
- 29:57and all that stuff. So like you have to have the
- 29:59support of other people in order to have true success.
- 30:03Not like, hey, I got AI got 6,000,000.
- 30:07I got 5 million in a bank. Because if you are truly
- 30:10successful, then you we don't have like a Bezos problem,
- 30:14right? When you're around, like when
- 30:18you, when you have the success around other people, you just
- 30:21don't have that. Like, it's not about me, right?
- 30:23Success is nice, but if I'm not there with my friends and
- 30:27they're not successful, you know what I mean?
- 30:29Yeah. That's like, well, then I mean,
- 30:31it's those memes, they're funny of like when they're like money
- 30:34doesn't bring happiness and like, I don't know, I'll be
- 30:37crying on a yacht, but it's like, it's a funny meme until
- 30:41you're crying on a yacht by yourself and then it's like,
- 30:45that's kind of lonely. Or paid friends, you know what I
- 30:48mean? Like when you're like, Oh, I, I
- 30:50don't have the only thing that it's like rappers, rappers deal
- 30:52with that a lot. You know, actors and stuff like
- 30:54that. You get caught up with like yes,
- 30:56man, people who are in your like in your corner.
- 30:59And trust me, I've been on the other end, right where it's like
- 31:02when you've been by yourself and you're just like, damn, I just
- 31:04need like, I just need somebody to be like, Hey, good job.
- 31:07Or you just need that, right? And you kind of just need a yes
- 31:11man, just like I just need me to, to keep, you know, a
- 31:14cheerleader. It's not really a yes man, a
- 31:15cheerleader. You need a cheerleader in your
- 31:17corner. But you know, it just, I don't
- 31:20know, it just kind of it just you just have to be mindful of
- 31:23all that stuff. I think that's really what it
- 31:24comes down. She was just being mindful.
- 31:26And I don't know, it just I kind of didn't lose my train of
- 31:31thought because I just started thinking about like what it
- 31:33means to have support in your corner.
- 31:36You know what I mean? Yeah, Yeah.
- 31:37So how can creators access the space?
- 31:41Hit me up IG from Steps is the future.
- 31:44I think that's the crazy part is like some people, so I will say
- 31:50this like we don't really, it's not that we don't support other
- 31:55people, right? But we're very mindful again of
- 31:57what we talked about earlier about like who's in the space,
- 32:00right? So I can't have.
- 32:01Your office hours. Yeah, yeah.
- 32:03Like I can't have a certain amount.
- 32:05I can't have a certain kind of people in there.
- 32:07Like I have to have people who are going to not take energy
- 32:13from it because it's a, it's a, it's a melty pot, right?
- 32:15You could take the energy from it, but I need you, No.
- 32:18Vampires. Yeah, I don't want you to like
- 32:20just coming there, taking and then being like, this is a great
- 32:23idea. This is this, all right, We're
- 32:24out. Like, you know, like you take a
- 32:26penny, leave a penny. You get what I'm saying?
- 32:28Like that, you got to have that kind of mentality.
- 32:30I mean, it's, it goes back to the intentionality of even
- 32:32having like good people on your corner and good friends, right?
- 32:36Like you can have yes men, you can have someone who is just
- 32:41there to while you're doing this, I want to seem cool
- 32:44because I'm with you. And it's like, well, no, because
- 32:49I don't want to wear a mask 24/7.
- 32:52I'm tired. I don't want to always be on,
- 32:54you know what I mean? Like I always got to be like,
- 32:56oh, like got to watch what I say.
- 32:58Like, because there's, and this is the thing, there's going to
- 33:03be times even when you guys go back in your old podcast and be
- 33:05like, I shouldn't have said that, right?
- 33:07And it's like, but that's a part of it.
- 33:08And, and I think that's, that's a big thing.
- 33:11It's like people aren't allowed to grow nowadays.
- 33:13Again, we're just like, we have to be like perfect.
- 33:17We always have to be on. We always have to say the right
- 33:19things. We always have to make the right
- 33:20moves. And that's we start putting
- 33:23pressure on us And it's like, dude, like we already have tons
- 33:29of shit that we got to worry about, like life bills, like
- 33:32policies and you know, like all this stuff.
- 33:34So and then we and then we beat ourselves up.
- 33:37Then we get to the point where beat stuff up and then we got to
- 33:38watch every word that we say. And it's like, dude, allow me to
- 33:41grow. Allow me to not necessarily.
- 33:43It's the shame that's The thing is that we love to shame and we
- 33:46also shame ourselves like because there's, there's, it
- 33:50goes on both ends, right? Like you could say something
- 33:52wrong and then people will shame you for it because shame is
- 33:55different where all you're doing is just beating yourself up
- 33:58about it and you're not able to get up and grow from it.
- 34:01There's a difference between being able to be accountable and
- 34:03like maybe feeling guilt. Guilt is different too.
- 34:06There's going to be action with it.
- 34:07Shame is just one of those feelings that puts you down.
- 34:10And you can put shame on yourself too.
- 34:13Like I've been on the other side where maybe someone's not
- 34:15shaming me or maybe to some degree when I was growing up,
- 34:18that was the feeling I always felt.
- 34:19And so then you just carried with you as an adult where
- 34:22you're like, oh, I shouldn't have said this.
- 34:24I shouldn't have done that. And like, constantly pushing
- 34:27yourself down doesn't allow you to like, build it back.
- 34:31Like, if you can't regulate that emotion, all you're going to do
- 34:35is just be like, well, nothing I'm doing is right.
- 34:38Nothing I'm doing is good. And it's like, no, you need to
- 34:41stop thinking like that too. And that's why I say be be
- 34:44mindful, right? If you're just like mindful in
- 34:47your day-to-day actions, like I'm not saying that you like
- 34:51again, you over analyze everything and put thought to
- 34:54everything, but just be mindful, like be mindful of the
- 34:57situation, be mindful of everybody's feelings.
- 34:59Be so empathy. Empathetic.
- 35:01You know what? I mean I.
- 35:02Don't want people sympathy. I want you looking down at me
- 35:04and yeah, I feel sorry for you. Like I've had friends who have
- 35:08lost loved ones and it's like it's hard.
- 35:11How do you, like, how do you, what do you say?
- 35:13Like, you know, you know, I had a friend that lost his pops
- 35:17recently and I was like, dude, I don't even like I don't, I don't
- 35:20want to say I'm sorry. I don't want to say I don't want
- 35:22to say I'm sorry to you, dude. Because one, it's, it's a part
- 35:25of life and it's unfortunately it's a part of life, right.
- 35:28I wish that we all can live to 100 years old and we can start
- 35:32doing that. But you know, only thing I can
- 35:35say is like, bro, like I feel where you're at.
- 35:37Yeah, you know what I mean? And it's.
- 35:40You're gonna feel that's the empathy.
- 35:41Yeah, you're gonna feel that you're it's you're all good.
- 35:45And then two years later, you're gonna hit the trigger and then
- 35:48you're gonna find, you're going to find a poster note with songs
- 35:51on it. And then that's going to tear
- 35:53you up. And then it's, you're going to
- 35:54be right back in it. So like, just know these things
- 35:56are coming and just be mindful of them and then you can move
- 36:01forward from there. I just, I, I, I don't know, I
- 36:03just the feeling sympathetic, like I feel sorry.
- 36:06I feel sorry for people like that.
- 36:08Like I just, you just don't grow like that.
- 36:10There's no growth from. That no, because there's a
- 36:12difference between like, because sympathy is the one where it's
- 36:16like, it's the one where you want to feel bad for them, and
- 36:22then empathy is the one where it's like, I hear you and I.
- 36:27Yeah, Like, yeah. What is it?
- 36:29Sympathy is like, It's like, yeah, I feel sorry for you.
- 36:34And then sympathy is like, yeah, the feeling of it, right?
- 36:38Yeah. It's like, I might not fully
- 36:40understand cuz that's the other part of empathy is like you
- 36:43don't have to understand, but you can see that person.
- 36:45Yeah, yeah, you can just hear them.
- 36:49So I think we all just want, but now it's crazy too, right?
- 36:51You start thinking about these like, people just want to be
- 36:53seen. But then we'd be like, fucking
- 36:56club chasers, you know what I mean?
- 36:58But I think there's a balance. I think there's a balance to it,
- 37:01right? You're like, yeah, but it's a.
- 37:02Double edged. Sword are you is that person do
- 37:05they just want to be seen It's like if you sit down with that
- 37:07person or is this just somebody who wants to be seen You know I
- 37:12think even people who do like heinous stuff like I think to a
- 37:16point they just want to be seen it's somebody to catch them in
- 37:18time yeah right. Somebody, somebody in the So
- 37:21this where we go back to the lighthouse, right?
- 37:23So somewhere that lighthouse let it get too dark and that's what
- 37:32happens. Right.
- 37:33It brought me back to Diddy. Somebody was, yeah.
- 37:36I was. In the I was in the dark.
- 37:38I tried to. I tried to watch it and I I I
- 37:40so. Do you hate $0.50?
- 37:43So yeah, yeah, hot take hot. Take.
- 37:47So no, no, I don't hate $0.50. I don't hate.
- 37:51So this is what I, I, I, I just $0.50 has a really good book and
- 37:55I, I love his book, but. I haven't read it yet.
- 37:59I, I just think Diddy. I've always thought Diddy was a
- 38:01scumbag though, like, you know, at a, at a like, because I grew
- 38:06up during that age, right. You know what I mean?
- 38:08The the golden age and I was always like underground backpack
- 38:12hip hop. So like when the golden age
- 38:14came, even though I'm like a huge biggie fan, I was like, I
- 38:19just don't like this puff guy. I think, you know, Puff has for
- 38:22me, whatever he goes by now, he has maybe like 5 songs that I'm
- 38:27like I'll rock with, but it didn't even hit songs.
- 38:29It's like it's somebody else. Like you could have put anybody
- 38:32in there, you know what I mean? It's like, yeah, it's like I
- 38:34like chocolate milk. I don't care if it's Nestle or
- 38:37whatever, I just like chocolate milk, you know?
- 38:38So I, I don't know, I it's very scumbaggish ways, you know what
- 38:45I mean? And but again, we go back to the
- 38:48yes man. We didn't have anybody in your
- 38:49corner to be like, hey, bro, you need to like, you know, hey,
- 38:53this happened and you can adjust and you can like be better.
- 38:58It's no one, no one said anything.
- 39:00No one like, you know what I mean?
- 39:01And wasn't mindful of everybody else's fucking feelings and, and
- 39:05stuff like that. You got to be mindful that stuff
- 39:07like scumbag through and through.
- 39:09But I also don't like the fact that we're it's on Netflix.
- 39:13Do you get what I'm saying? Like I don't like that it's on
- 39:15Netflix and like, you know, I don't like it.
- 39:19The fact that we like to tear shit down that to that much I
- 39:23don't it's not that it's not the exposure, right, but we have a
- 39:26whole bunch of other stuff going on in the country that we should
- 39:29be making documentary for that's on Netflix and we're not that's
- 39:32you know what I mean? That's the real like, you know
- 39:34what I mean? Like where are those at?
- 39:35Where are those things at? Or where are the positive
- 39:38things? You guys like?
- 39:38Where's the the positive and this?
- 39:41Isn't right here on Here's to You podcast?
- 39:43Yeah. This isn't a rant on on any kind
- 39:46of streaming service, but it's like I was thinking about that
- 39:49on the way in and I was like, dude, you know, like history
- 39:52wise, like why don't we have anything that teaches authentic
- 39:56history, right, Like we learn history.
- 39:58We even teach history in schools to kids and it's like it's not
- 40:04100% right. You know what I mean?
- 40:05If favors a side, right? If favors a certain side, but
- 40:08it's like. Do we, I don't know you guys
- 40:13like I can get into like some rabbit hole stuff and then like,
- 40:18but I just I don't like that. I don't like that it was on
- 40:20Netflix. I don't like that.
- 40:21It was like, you know, I don't know, man.
- 40:25I just, I know we just have a lot more documentaries that we
- 40:27can be writing about other people that have done stuff
- 40:32equally as bad, if not worse, you know what I mean?
- 40:35And they perpetuate this circle and it's like, go ahead and
- 40:38tear. I'm not saying that don't do a
- 40:39documentary on. I'm just saying like, where's
- 40:42Volume 6? You know what I mean?
- 40:44Like, fuck it. Like if we're going to do it,
- 40:45run the volume of them. Like Diddy's first one.
- 40:48The next one is, you know what I mean?
- 40:50And yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 40:52Yeah, make a series out of it. And it doesn't just have to be
- 40:54Diddy, it needs to be everybody else because there's other
- 40:57people in positions that in higher positions, yeah, that
- 41:01have that same stuff. And stuff is still coming out
- 41:03about it, which is crazy. You know, yeah, yeah, it's
- 41:06crazy. I don't have a good transition
- 41:08for. This I know.
- 41:09I was like dickhead Damiguel with the deepness, no.
- 41:12No, I was, I was I there was there was something that you
- 41:15said, well, with history, we're not gonna get it 100 and it's
- 41:19gonna favor one side. So let's make your Halo
- 41:21Margarita. Hey, that was good.
- 41:26Hey, what's with that? I felt like with that poor sound
- 41:28effect, like I felt like the Gin and Juice song should have keyed
- 41:33on. You know what?
- 41:34Yeah. You know what I mean?
- 41:38Yeah. You said on lighter notes.
- 41:42Let's go ahead. Yeah.
- 41:43Oh no, we're still going to get deep.
- 41:44Yeah, I know, but we're still coming to this.
- 41:48So. Oh, yeah, 'cause we're that way.
- 41:50We don't get yeah. Here's to you.
- 42:00It's supported by One Life Spirits.

- 42:15Because if you're still chasing tequila with it, lime, what are
- 42:18you doing? That orange slice brings out the
- 42:21bright citrus notes of Unavida Blanco, which is smooth,
- 42:25authentic and tasteful. Like myself.
- 42:28Plus, Una Vida is 100% additive free, so you're enjoying tequila
- 42:32in its purest form without the hangover regret.
- 42:35Yeah, because it takes us three to five business days to recover
- 42:38now, and Hangzad is not my friend.
- 42:43That's why you should stick with una Vida or try cocktails
- 42:45instead of shots. OK, a little bit little.
- 42:47One Life Spirits also crafts El Drago High Post vodkas and
- 42:51LeBron whiskey, all bold, smooth and made to share.

- 43:13store. Cheers.
- 43:25And we are back from our break here segment #2 with our homie
- 43:30Miguel. And we've got these drinks
- 43:32poured. Banister, tell us what we're
- 43:36drinking on today. Well, actually Miguel kind of
- 43:38told me what to make. He was so brand.
- 43:41I was just asking him what don't you like?
- 43:43What do you like? And then he goes, what about
- 43:45this? And I was like, so on brand for
- 43:48you. So it's a Halo orange Margarita
- 43:50because his logo is a Halo. So we'll you'll have to
- 43:55elaborate on that one in a second and why.
- 43:59But yeah, so we made a Halo orange Margarita, which I went
- 44:02outside my house, which is next to the in, in my backyard, next
- 44:06to the watermelons, next to the blueberries and next to the what
- 44:10else did we have last night? Pineapples.
- 44:14Pine. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 44:16Those and the pineapples. I also have my cutie tree.
- 44:19So I went and picked out at least 6 cuties and then those
- 44:23are easier. So I just like squeezed them
- 44:24with my, my fingers because I'm not strong.
- 44:27And yeah, with my finger guns, I squeezed them with my finger
- 44:31guns, I said. And then and then, you know,
- 44:36follow us on Instagram and TikTok so you can get the rest
- 44:40of the recipe on here. But yeah, it's made with Una
- 44:43Vida tequila because of course, it's a Margarita.
- 44:46So shout out to Una Vida for helping us make this.
- 44:49And I added an extra a touch of love my saliva to rim these
- 44:55sugar glasses. Yeah.
- 44:59How's my saliva taste guys? Yeah, it's hey, bottoms up, you
- 45:02guys. Bottoms up, everybody got their
- 45:05Hep B shot, so it's fine, yes. Yeah, yeah.
- 45:13That's because the Cuties might not be in season right now, but
- 45:16you know they're still growing. So you guys grow them?
- 45:19Yeah, I grow them in my backyard.
- 45:21No, you don't. Yes, I do.
- 45:22You got watermelon? Yeah, I got watermelon.
- 45:24Hold on. Do you have like, All right,
- 45:25When you say you have watermelon, do you have like,
- 45:26watermelon? Like are they in season right
- 45:28now? No, but they still grow in my
- 45:31backyard. Like if you ever just want to
- 45:33get rid of some watermelon, you just let me know.
- 45:35I mean, I'm being super sorry. No, I'm like, I'm being 1000%
- 45:38press, press paws. No, I'm dead serious.
- 45:42Like 1000% like all summer long. That's like all I eat.
- 45:45Oh, watermelon. Yeah, love a good watermelon.
- 45:48Yeah. Love a good.
- 45:50Hydrating. Yeah, your.
- 45:52Salt on it. Yes.
- 45:54Get your electrolytes right. Make sure your blood's flowing
- 45:58where it needs to flow. I.
- 46:02If you didn't know. Flow where it needs to flow.
- 46:06You're talking about down under for a guy or just in general,
- 46:11like the way that the blood needs to flow where it needs to
- 46:13flow in general for any gender? Yeah, OK, OK.
- 46:19This is a good dream. Is it?
- 46:20Yeah. OK, there's something on the on
- 46:23the rim, but not. The saliva, There's something
- 46:26with the saliva that's really yummy.
- 46:28He. Said what is what is that?
- 46:30He's got a little peppermint or something.
- 46:34Hey, do you taste my sushi Sushi?
- 46:40The California roll. OK, what is that on 40 year old
- 46:46Virgin when he's like shellfish sandwich?
- 46:49Definitely. Oh my God.
- 46:53Oh my God. Actually, that isn't that took
- 46:55me to the Benchwarmers, the scene.
- 46:57Have you seen the movie The Benchwarmers?
- 47:00Yeah, I haven't seen the Benchwarmers.
- 47:01Have you seen the Benchwarmers? Been more than a decade.
- 47:03No tell us though. Tell us.
- 47:06Yeah. It's because it's stupid.
- 47:07It's the. Scene.
- 47:09It's the. Scene, it's the scene where
- 47:10like, because they're they're nerds, right?
- 47:13And so there's bullies in the movie and so one of the kids
- 47:17farts on the little kids face. It was like, I'm not supposed to
- 47:24laugh at this, but it's hilarious.
- 47:26You said. Let me tell you, as a father, I
- 47:28think that's hilarious. Oh my God, all the cool kids are
- 47:32doing it and. Then and then and then he's
- 47:36like, yeah, I think I know what he ate that day.
- 47:45No. And just remember that these
- 47:52mics pick up everything. No coffee today, you guys.
- 47:58No coffee. Just remember, I remember that
- 48:00when you come on to get on the podcast that these mics pick up
- 48:03everything. 24 hour fast you guys.
- 48:05Just yeah, yeah. Don't do anything.
- 48:08Don't do anything. But no, tell us actually,
- 48:11Miguel, about the Halo logo. Yeah.
- 48:14So Halo logo, it's just a concert reminder.
- 48:19I bought this jacket and I was like oh this is really nice and
- 48:22I got it for a good price but it picks up everything.
- 48:25The fuzzy. Oh, it's everything.
- 48:26He's like, he's like, oh, it's like, yeah, so.
- 48:30The little dandruff from the ceiling.
- 48:31Yeah, he said. He said, oh, that's a save that
- 48:34for later. So the Halo is just a
- 48:37representation of doing good in the world and being, again,
- 48:41being mindful. So when you see the Halo, it
- 48:44should be like, we're earning our Halo, right?
- 48:46So it's like opening the door for somebody saying, hey, have a
- 48:50good day or maybe buying somebody coffee.
- 48:52Just these small gestures of you putting good into the world,
- 48:56right? So I'm just trying to be mindful
- 48:58of stuff. No one's perfect.
- 49:00I don't want anybody to think that we're like an affiliated
- 49:03brand and we're like it's, you know, like, oh, is it a
- 49:08religious brand? I guess it could be it just, it
- 49:10depends on how you depict it, right?
- 49:13But. No, I like the.
- 49:14I think the way that you how you positioned it, it doesn't look
- 49:17that way. Yeah, to me, and I mean, and
- 49:19it's not cuz we're we're it's like.
- 49:21Yeah, you got it nice on the. Side like a little hat so it's.
- 49:24A sideways hat. So it's a lean on it?
- 49:28Yeah, it's got some lean on it. So I got a so have you guys ever
- 49:33heard of the like if you get three people to get married that
- 49:39you go to heaven is heaven? A what?
- 49:41No. There's like this, there's this.
- 49:44Like I don't know what religion it's from, but it's like if you
- 49:48match make 3 people and they get married that you can like earn
- 49:52your way to heaven. So but I've I've done that.
- 49:56You've done that, so you're going to heaven.
- 49:57Maybe. So much makes me wait Wait so
- 50:01you got a track record is when I'm.
- 50:03Here, Yeah, which is crazy. I wish it would work for myself.
- 50:05I wish you said you said the worst people give the best
- 50:10advice you guys. Yeah, no, same.
- 50:13I think I got what you're saying.
- 50:14It's like I give really good advice.
- 50:16I. Just don't take my own.
- 50:17Yeah. And it's like, show me who you
- 50:22love and I'll show you how much you love yourself.
- 50:24And then it's like, but don't put that on me because then
- 50:27you're going to be like, girl, you're not falling, you're in.
- 50:29I'm like, yeah, you said. Hey, hey, part of the game and
- 50:32so yeah, but yeah, that's what it's for.
- 50:36So no, but that's funny because I, there's a guy that I work
- 50:42with, young Cat and you know, they, him and his girl, they
- 50:46just had a baby and they're, they're like engaged now.
- 50:49And I was like, you're #3 like, that was like, that's it.
- 50:52I was like, after that, I'm just gonna, I'm not.
- 50:54I'm just gonna float around. You are, you're about, you're
- 50:56gonna levitate as soon as they as soon as they they like bring
- 51:01it together in whatever way that they do it.
- 51:03You know, I'm sure they have their wedding traditions.
- 51:06You're going to levitate. I know I'm.
- 51:08Like you're just going to wake up 1.
- 51:09Day. Yeah, you're just going to wake
- 51:11up and you're going to levitate. It's going to be like the Santa
- 51:13Claus. It's like just going to be a
- 51:15robe. I'm like, oh, I wish I could put
- 51:17regular clothes on. Every time I put AT shirt on
- 51:20turns into a robe. It's the alcohol, you guys.
- 51:27It's the saliva. Have you ever considered getting
- 51:31your online like efficience I. Should certificate I should do
- 51:35that? You can get.
- 51:37You can get officiated online for anything.
- 51:40Yeah, you can. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 51:43Certified matchmaker. I wish you should.
- 51:46Like the 50? I'm just going to do that and
- 51:48then when I go to their wedding and then they can be like, oh,
- 51:51who's this guy 'cause you know, I don't look like I would know
- 51:55them, right? But you know, they're gonna be
- 51:57like, I'm like, hey, I was their matchmaker, you guys.
- 51:59Yeah, yeah. What are you doing here?
- 52:03This right here? They just sent it to me and I
- 52:05grabbed it before I pulled up here so.
- 52:07Yeah, yeah, you're like I, I orchestrated this whole.
- 52:10Thing you said this. This whole thing you call this.
- 52:14Bride like a bridezilla. You know, just the Momzilla.
- 52:17Or whatever. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 52:18You'd be like all this, like this speech from was a training
- 52:22day. This is me.
- 52:27Shut out, Chris. I told Chris I would give him a
- 52:29shout out. Chris.
- 52:31Yeah, shut up, Chris. I I didn't really tell him I was
- 52:34just harassing him, but actually it's crazy that that popped up.
- 52:37But yeah. If he does not watch this, he
- 52:40better find the exact second that you escape that shout out.
- 52:45Yeah, so I'm going to. I might forever.
- 52:47Yes. Forever.
- 52:48No. So I'm going to clip this and
- 52:51I'm going to be like, I'm at him and be like, go find it.
- 52:54It's going to be a scavenger. Search and rescue, you got to
- 52:56watch the whole thing. No, But yeah, Speaking of search
- 53:02and rescue, but maybe not actually, that wasn't a good way
- 53:06to segue this question. I wanted to ask like a story
- 53:09that you've heard from front steps that really stuck with
- 53:12you. A.
- 53:13Story from front steps. Yeah, that that came with or
- 53:16during sound check that really stuck with you I.
- 53:21Think that's a, I'm really, I'm trying to think a like a sound
- 53:31check. I guess that's stuck with me.
- 53:33I, I think they all kind of stick with me.
- 53:36I know this sounds like a very general question, but some I
- 53:40think the when you guys were there, I think I think that's
- 53:43not, it's not because you you guys are there.
- 53:46I think that's my. He said this.
- 53:50Yeah. This message is brought to you
- 53:52by paid actor. Yeah.
- 53:59Paid actor testimony on the bottom.
- 54:01I think that that day solidified not it didn't solidify, but
- 54:07that's like exactly when I felt like I was really full, like I
- 54:13felt what is the term when you're like, you just feel like
- 54:17like this is what it's about, right?
- 54:18You do like when you're like, oh, I know, I know.
- 54:21It's like, I know we. Filming but.
- 54:22I it's like we have a ton of work to do.
- 54:25We're still new. I get that, but it's like, I'm
- 54:28like, this is what it is. This is what it is because it
- 54:31was like it started off with you guys that day, but then that day
- 54:33transitioned and then it's. Like there were so many.
- 54:36People we had and then after you guys left, we still have.
- 54:38So we didn't get out of there. Me and Ellie didn't get out of
- 54:40there. Ellie's my daughter, by the way.
- 54:41Shout out Ellie. Shout out, Ellie.
- 54:44That's just, I'm a little sad because today's Sunday and like
- 54:47Sunday's like our day and I'm no, no, no, it's fine.
- 54:51And it's like I was like kind of, I was like bummed out
- 54:53because I was like, I'm picking the Rep after.
- 54:56But I was like, oh, I was like, hey, I've got stuff to do.
- 54:59I said, you know, yeah. So I just wanted to give her a
- 55:03shout out. I was going to give Chris my
- 55:04son. I get shout out to my other, my
- 55:08real son Miles. Like I hate Ellie, I hate
- 55:12Christy. Shout out Miles.
- 55:16Middle. Child.
- 55:16Yeah, yeah, exactly. Yeah, my first only boy.
- 55:20Like, you know what I mean? Like.
- 55:22But yeah, I just that day was like, I'm like, all right, this
- 55:26is what it's about. And we've had a couple of days
- 55:28like that where people, it's like people from that don't know
- 55:31each other. And next, you know, they're
- 55:32like, can I follow you? Like, what's your Instagram?
- 55:35And it's like, this is what it's about.
- 55:37Like, how can we replicate this? Like how can we have this every
- 55:40day where creatives are coming in and out, meeting each other
- 55:44and then maybe picking up their other project, right, because
- 55:47like hopefully you guys like met somebody or would meet somebody
- 55:50who's been on the sound check or and that's what the support
- 55:53system is, right has been on the I don't even know what it is.
- 55:57It's not a podcast, right? But if they've been on the show
- 56:03and then they bridge a relationship from there, you
- 56:06know what I mean? So it's like, again, we're just
- 56:08all intertwined. And who are the hosts of that
- 56:10because isn't it or I've seen some pretty specific people or
- 56:13reoccurring people on there. On the soundtracks.
- 56:17Yeah, or so the interview ones that you have.
- 56:20So Ruth Roof and vibes, shout out Roof and Vibes.
- 56:24She's done the next step. The next step is really weird.
- 56:27So it's technically just me. So it's really it's hard because
- 56:32it's like I'll have to film it, have to edit it, have to and you
- 56:36guys know, you got anybody who is like a creative and they're
- 56:39doing their stuff. You can it's easy to have a
- 56:42team. It's you can have a team of
- 56:44people, but with me, it's like covers or me this.
- 56:47And on top of that, I'm already and like we're running a
- 56:49clothing brand and we got to worry about drops and I got to
- 56:52be a dad and you know what I mean?
- 56:54So it turns into a lot, but I don't know where I was going
- 56:57from that out outside and help me help me.
- 57:03You said Ruth was on there. Yeah, Ruth from vibes.
- 57:06Yeah, Ruth from vibes. We got Shayla.
- 57:08She's Shay the Jay. She's like her.
- 57:12I don't want to say in house DJ 'cause like that's the thing
- 57:16about what we're doing. I don't want like ownership of
- 57:19anybody, right. So it's like it's not like I'm
- 57:22like, oh, like you belong to like the front steps and like
- 57:25you're it's like you're she's she's our in house DJ.
- 57:27She was on a sound check and then it that her story with with
- 57:34us shut out Shay. But I know Shay since she was
- 57:39maybe like 13. She's I used to work at the
- 57:42mall. She used to come into the mall
- 57:44and, you know, years later she was, you know, Instagram, we
- 57:49linked up and I'm cool with her sister.
- 57:50So like, I linked up with her and I was like, hey, you should
- 57:54come in. You're you're kind of doing this
- 57:55DJ thing. Like I just think it'd be cool.
- 57:57And she was just like mixing at the house.
- 57:59And not that I have anything to do with her success or anything
- 58:02like that. I don't want anybody to take it.
- 58:04So I just want to put that out as a disclaimer.
- 58:06But she came in and she was like, yeah, I'm DJ in and stuff
- 58:08like that. And I was like, dude, like you
- 58:10should DJ in here. But then when I got the new
- 58:12office, we have more space. So I was like, Nah, like I'm
- 58:15gonna get a DJ booth and then like, you can DJ up here, you
- 58:18can just come up on Sundays. And then like, now she's doing
- 58:21cool stuff and I'm like, super excited again.
- 58:24Not because I'm the reason for her journey, because I don't see
- 58:28it that way, that I was just a part of it.
- 58:30Yeah, Right. So when she goes off and does
- 58:32cool stuff, I would just feel like I don't want to say unk
- 58:36right, or uncle or anything like that, but I'm just a lighthouse
- 58:39again and being like, oh, like, hey, that's cool.
- 58:41Like, you know what I mean? Like, are you doing like, are
- 58:43you doing your shit? You know what I mean?
- 58:44So yeah, I. Love that.
- 58:47So switch your topics though. She she said anyways, anyways.
- 58:53Anyways, we're going to talk about other shit now, yeah?
- 58:54She said. All that heartfelt shit that
- 58:57was. That was cool, that was cool,
- 58:58that was cool. Next thing, next thing.
- 59:01OK, so I really wanted to talk about music in general and all
- 59:07the shit. That's not all the shit, but
- 59:09just, you know, some changes. But like, OK, songs and how
- 59:13they're super short now, they're like 2 minutes, 30 seconds long.
- 59:18There's always like got to be the right hook for something
- 59:21they're not. They're not 5 minutes long
- 59:24anymore. And like, how much I miss that,
- 59:26you know, like the whole storytelling of music has
- 59:28changed a bit a bit to some degree.
- 59:31There's a lot of artists who are now, you know, leaning towards
- 59:35shorter songs. Yeah.
- 59:37So our attention span has changed, right, You think?
- 59:40So you think that's what it? Is 1000% I think our attention
- 59:43span, we just get everything fast.
- 59:47We get everything super fast or fast food fast.
- 59:49You know you know dude, no one knows how to cook right?
- 59:53It's like. I know how to cook.
- 59:56Yeah, and well, and rare. Well, did you hear?
- 59:58You hear how excited I got when I was like, you grow watermelon?
- 1:00:02I was like, you're rude. And that's so crazy because, you
- 1:00:07know, like when I was young, my mom had like a garden and she
- 1:00:10grew. She didn't grow everything, but
- 1:00:11you know. I'm totally lying about this
- 1:00:13garden, you guys. I'm very sarcastic.
- 1:00:14There's a lot of dry humor here. Yes.
- 1:00:16OK. Just remember.
- 1:00:17That she didn't really lick my glass, you guys.
- 1:00:20She was just kidding with the licking my glass.
- 1:00:24She didn't lick my glass. I didn't.
- 1:00:26Maybe. That was off camera.
- 1:00:29That was off camera. That one was off.
- 1:00:30Camera, she said. Run the tape.
- 1:00:32Run the tape. No, but yeah.
- 1:00:38I think that's, I think that's we just get everything super
- 1:00:41fast. So of course we're not going to
- 1:00:45have that attention span and people really don't play
- 1:00:47instruments anymore. When I went to school for for
- 1:00:51music, for music management and actually to be sound engineer,
- 1:00:56but that's good luck doing that, you know what I mean?
- 1:00:58But you want a school for that? Yeah, to to be a well, I went
- 1:01:01school to be sound engineer. Then I transitioned to be like,
- 1:01:04eventually I'll be a teacher, right.
- 1:01:05So, but I think that's like, I think that's part of it.
- 1:01:11I remember my, my teacher was like, no one feels from Germany.
- 1:01:15He was like, no one plays instruments anymore.
- 1:01:17He was like a big penis from from Germany.
- 1:01:20And I was like, OK. And I was like, whatever, man,
- 1:01:22he was like all you guys do is like sample music.
- 1:01:24And I, I'm like, I always so I feel that.
- 1:01:30I hate when people like diss hip hop because it's my culture,
- 1:01:33right? And people say that because I
- 1:01:36feel like they underline a lot of it.
- 1:01:37Right, I like the. Sampling of music yeah.
- 1:01:39And they're like all they do is underline.
- 1:01:41It's like I, I, I heard that they on there, right.
- 1:01:44And it's like I felt like it was capitalized and underlined.
- 1:01:46What do you mean by they? But he's always say that.
- 1:01:50He's always say like there's no instrumentation anymore.
- 1:01:53No one plays music. And I think that's no one plays
- 1:01:58instruments, you know what I mean?
- 1:01:59You listen to like get down on it by cooling a gang and that's
- 1:02:03like a 10 minute, I don't know, 7 minute banger, right?
- 1:02:07And you can just like just vibe out to it.
- 1:02:08Like I don't want to hear an instrumental.
- 1:02:10I do, but not a lot of people want to hear an instrumental for
- 1:02:145 minutes, right? And it's like, how many how, how
- 1:02:17much storytelling can you tell in 5 minutes?
- 1:02:20But you can go back to like look at like Slick Rick and like even
- 1:02:24Kendrick does it right. Kendrick does a really good job
- 1:02:26of like this storytelling when you could visually see it.
- 1:02:28Nas did it, Biggie, POC, all these people.
- 1:02:31But the content sucks. But there's there's people who,
- 1:02:35who have good songs, There's good musicians, especially here
- 1:02:37in Wichita, tons of musicians that we just don't get the
- 1:02:40exposure to. But to answer your question, why
- 1:02:43I feel that it's just, it's just our attention span.
- 1:02:47Yeah, our attention, our attention span is very short,
- 1:02:49so. What do you what do you think?
- 1:02:54Yeah, our attention span is super short nowadays.
- 1:02:58And yeah, and I agree with him. Like no one plays the
- 1:03:03instruments anymore. And then, you know, with how
- 1:03:07music is made nowadays, it depends on the goal of that
- 1:03:13artist, I guess, as to how that music's going to get made and
- 1:03:18what they're trying to project with it or what story they're
- 1:03:20trying to tell with it. And a lot of stuff is made for
- 1:03:24for TikTok. It is, that's right.
- 1:03:27I feel like a lot of it is. That's a big reason, yeah, that
- 1:03:30it is 'cause they're looking for like, which is the sound bite
- 1:03:33that's gonna go, that's gonna go further.
- 1:03:35Because now the way that people get music is so much different.
- 1:03:38You don't. A lot of people don't listen to
- 1:03:40the whole album, you know They will only listen to specific
- 1:03:43songs. That's crazy.
- 1:03:45How that's changed? And it's it's that has, you know
- 1:03:49what I think really started? It didn't really happen with the
- 1:03:51Internet, right. I think it did happen with the
- 1:03:53Internet, but it happened when Apple did the the iPod buy a
- 1:03:58song $0.99 Yeah. Then I didn't store it.
- 1:04:01I didn't, yeah, I didn't care about.
- 1:04:02I can just buy the song I want. A long time ago, you had to
- 1:04:05remember we talked about album covers and stuff like that.
- 1:04:07It's like you had to come up with the whole project.
- 1:04:10Now it's like I can just pick what I want.
- 1:04:13I can buy everything out of cart.
- 1:04:14So it's like when you do that, it's like it winds up costing
- 1:04:18you more in the long run, right? And then you don't get exposed
- 1:04:20to stuff. I don't know, I came from a like
- 1:04:22a culture of like you have to eat everything on your plate
- 1:04:24even, right, You know what I mean?
- 1:04:27I just, I remember my mom and this, sorry to veer off, but I
- 1:04:33remember my mom would like, like I wasn't allowed to leave the
- 1:04:37table until I finished my food. And I remember just like I don't
- 1:04:41like cantaloupe. Like you can't.
- 1:04:45Yeah, I just, I really hate cantaloupe.
- 1:04:49You know what? I actually don't like cantaloupe
- 1:04:51that much. Yeah, honey, do No wait.
- 1:04:53Yeah. No, I like honeydew.
- 1:04:55I like honeydew. But for me, so it took me a
- 1:04:59minute to realize what cantaloupe was and then I was
- 1:05:01like Milan, Milan, that's what that is.
- 1:05:05Because that's how I was saying in Spanish, but there is this
- 1:05:10ice cream, it's like an ice cream sundae, but it's called
- 1:05:13Tobionico. And this one Paleteria ice cream
- 1:05:19store would put cantaloupe in it.
- 1:05:25And I know it's getting hard. It's getting hard 'cause I have
- 1:05:29to say it in English. It's getting hard.
- 1:05:31It's. Getting hard translation.
- 1:05:34And I'm like the word, the word, the word.
- 1:05:36Well, anyways, no. So the spaletteria would put a
- 1:05:40lot of cantaloupe in it. And I remember that I was just
- 1:05:43like, I can't have cantaloupe anymore.
- 1:05:45I hate it. It's the worst thing in my life
- 1:05:48and it ruined it for me. I.
- 1:05:50Agree with you on that. Yeah, Cantaloupe.
- 1:05:53But yeah, but I like, I like honeydew.
- 1:05:55Yeah, watermelon. Watermelon.
- 1:05:57A card with watermelon. Yeah, yeah, I like a good.
- 1:06:02I really love the prickly pears. What is?
- 1:06:06What is the the fruit that look like it has little hairs on it?
- 1:06:09That's lychee, isn't it? Is it?
- 1:06:11Yeah, but. It Yeah, that has a grape that
- 1:06:14looks like a grape, but it has hair and it's red.
- 1:06:16No, it's not. It's a Rampu 10, yeah.
- 1:06:19Those are. They look like sea urchins.
- 1:06:21Yeah, that's what they remind me of.
- 1:06:22That's what. They remind me of.
- 1:06:24Sea urchins and which also reminds me of surfs up the
- 1:06:27movie. It's I haven't seen that.
- 1:06:29One, OK, it's a dumb movie. It's a it's about Penguins
- 1:06:32trying to to swim. No one will get this reference.
- 1:06:37I'm not going to say it. I'm going to say no.
- 1:06:41Watch your stuff, you guys. Yeah, watch your stuff.
- 1:06:43Because it's funny and it's the part where he goes broken.
- 1:06:46Broken Anyways, OK, what's the thing on trying to serve, Trying
- 1:06:52to learn how to serve. And then and then like he falls
- 1:06:55off and he's not a good surfer. And then he's just like, and
- 1:06:58then he fell on me, fell on me. He broke me.
- 1:07:00Look, broken. Broken.
- 1:07:03OK, sorry. I said.
- 1:07:05I wasn't going to say. And then I said it.
- 1:07:11That's. Funny.
- 1:07:14Cantaloupe. We don't fuck with cantaloupe.
- 1:07:16Yeah, and we don't fuck you. Fuck with cantaloupe.
- 1:07:19That's crazy. It's crazy talk.
- 1:07:23Cancel. No, we don't fuck with that
- 1:07:26around here. We don't fuck around.
- 1:07:30You're like the vibe, the vibe, the vibe I'm trying to curate is
- 1:07:34not that dusty, so you're not going to be allowed in the steps
- 1:07:37anymore. Dusty, like, you can tell, like
- 1:07:40he was like, OK, here we go. I like it.
- 1:07:46I like cantaloupe. I'm sorry.
- 1:07:50Yeah, and we also don't fuck with.
- 1:07:51Or we do. I guess some people fuck with
- 1:07:53cantaloupe, but we also don't fuck with the songs that are two
- 1:07:56minutes 30 seconds. Yeah, we don't.
- 1:07:58Yeah, I. Thought you were going to say
- 1:07:59Pickles. Oh yeah, You don't like Pickles?
- 1:08:01I don't like Pickles. You don't just keep my man.
- 1:08:10Switch the sides. I said anytime.
- 1:08:13You are welcome. Now how do you not?
- 1:08:14You don't really like Pickles? I don't like.
- 1:08:16Pickles at all That's crazy. Like there's like pickle that
- 1:08:19you. I like cucumber OK.
- 1:08:21I don't like Pickles. That's like people who don't
- 1:08:23like tomatoes, but then they're like, I love ketchup.
- 1:08:26Yeah, yeah. Those people are weird, though.
- 1:08:27No, nothing like me. Yeah, yeah, nothing like me.
- 1:08:32Because. Because the way that you make
- 1:08:35the Pickles is in the vinegar juice.
- 1:08:37So you don't like vinegar juice? I like vinegar, so like, I like
- 1:08:42when jalapenos are in them. Yeah.
- 1:08:44That's you know and have you? Put the Pickles inside of the
- 1:08:47jalapeno. Juice.
- 1:08:48No, because I don't like Pickles.
- 1:08:51Just trying to warm you up. Trying to warm you up, baby.
- 1:08:55Yeah, he said. Actually, you know what?
- 1:08:57I love Pickles. Yeah.
- 1:08:59I can try. I can try again.
- 1:09:00So our taste buds change every seven years.
- 1:09:03So sometimes after a while I'll be like, OK, maybe I will like
- 1:09:08the certain food that I don't like, I didn't like before.
- 1:09:11So I'll try it. I give things a chance.
- 1:09:13That literally just put fear in my heart that I would just go
- 1:09:15back to loving like or go back to cantaloupe.
- 1:09:18You know. What I mean I was like 7 years
- 1:09:22and I was like would I like cantaloupe?
- 1:09:25I can't. Like it's bad, like I can't even
- 1:09:26have it. Hate cantaloupe?
- 1:09:28Like I can't even have it in the fridge.
- 1:09:30Why? Yeah, because like, I can smell
- 1:09:32it. Like I don't even like.
- 1:09:33This. OK, well what was the reason
- 1:09:34that you don't like cantaloupe? I think my mom made me eat it
- 1:09:38when I was younger, but I just don't.
- 1:09:46It gives me like anxiety, like when I'm like, can I'm like,
- 1:09:50woo, alright. You know, like it's like if I go
- 1:09:55to like Quick Trip and they have little fruit cups and I'm like,
- 1:09:58I guess I get it. And I'm like, that's a big piece
- 1:10:05of candy. Yeah, you guys.
- 1:10:07OK OK because this is where it's yours off for me so I don't hate
- 1:10:12hate it as much as you. I don't always enjoy it but I
- 1:10:16will fuck with cantaloupe water because I want them alone but
- 1:10:19it's really good so like I will drink cantaloupe water.
- 1:10:24What's the ice creams like the? The Peletas.
- 1:10:27Yeah, they're like the Peletas, but with the the square ones
- 1:10:30that you eat from Costco. They're Americanized ones.
- 1:10:34I'll eat one like that. Oh, OK, I'll I'll eat a little
- 1:10:37Malone one like that and I'm like, yeah, yeah, but it's but I
- 1:10:41feel like it doesn't taste like. Yeah.
- 1:10:44Oh, 'cause regular cantaloupe like fresh cut.
- 1:10:47Oof, yeah. Yeah, what else don't you like?
- 1:10:50I think that's it. I'm a big guy, you know what I
- 1:10:53mean? Like there's not a lot of stuff
- 1:10:54that I don't like, and I'll try anything.
- 1:10:56I'm like, man, let's try it. You know what I mean?
- 1:10:58Yeah. Yeah, yeah, haters.
- 1:11:00You said you didn't like haters. Yeah, actually, I don't.
- 1:11:03I don't. I don't dislike haters, you know
- 1:11:07what I mean? It's just because they just, I
- 1:11:09think a lot of people who hate stuff, they just haven't
- 1:11:14educated themselves and they haven't educated themselves
- 1:11:17enough, you know what I mean? I think they just haven't they,
- 1:11:20they haven't kind of so checked, right.
- 1:11:23Yeah. Like, you know, like
- 1:11:25mindfulness, mindfulness, you know, So.
- 1:11:28Yeah. I had love yourself regulation.
- 1:11:30Yeah, thank you. But that's, I think that's it.
- 1:11:34It's like, I don't hate anybody and like, and I don't because
- 1:11:38then it would be like, I hate haters.
- 1:11:41What? What is that?
- 1:11:42Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, it's contradictory.
- 1:11:43I. Mean you didn't.
- 1:11:44You didn't really like, you didn't really fuck with $0.50.
- 1:11:47Yeah, I hit it and he's. A big hater.
- 1:11:50I like $0.50 though, you know what I mean?
- 1:11:52I just don't like what he's doing.
- 1:11:53You didn't like what? I don't like your actions,
- 1:11:54buddy. Right now I don't like your
- 1:11:56actions. Yeah, that's what it is.
- 1:11:58We don't like certain actions, so we don't like certain
- 1:12:01actions, Yeah. Were you thinking of Melona's?
- 1:12:04Melona's. Yeah, blue rapper.
- 1:12:07What is? What is that, Melona's bro?
- 1:12:11Have you had those before? No.
- 1:12:13They are incredible, those hits. It's the best ice cream ever.
- 1:12:17Let me tell you. I've never had.
- 1:12:20These many different fruit flavors, so if you don't like
- 1:12:24cantaloupe you can pick banana or this or watermelon.
- 1:12:28This is what you do, OK? You get the kids in there and
- 1:12:33then you'd be like, yeah, you want ice cream and then you
- 1:12:36grab. I don't think there's a, a mango
- 1:12:391. You get yourself the mango one
- 1:12:40and then you get them the melon one and then you just take a
- 1:12:44bite, all right. And then you give it to the kid,
- 1:12:46the bitten one to the kid. And you like for tax, That's
- 1:12:50what it is for tax, you know, And then it's kind of like a,
- 1:12:55it's like a, when people do venom for a rattlesnake, it kind
- 1:12:58of builds up a tolerance of Malone.
- 1:13:04It makes sense. Yeah, it makes sense.
- 1:13:06Yeah. Yes, I think, I think that is
- 1:13:08the way to Yeah. I mean, and and then you have to
- 1:13:12tax the kids on everything. Oh yeah.
- 1:13:14Because why wouldn't you? You said, hey, that's what.
- 1:13:17Yeah, I mean, they got to learn young.
- 1:13:20Automatically you got to yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:13:22They need us like this whole thing of like us making their
- 1:13:25lives easier. We got to stop doing it.
- 1:13:27We got to tax them. Yeah, automatically.
- 1:13:29Yeah, soon as they're at the womb tax.
- 1:13:32What do you mean you can't? You can't walk?
- 1:13:33Yeah, that's ridiculous, dude. Bootstraps.
- 1:13:36Yeah, yeah. Like, come on, stand up, you
- 1:13:38can't hold your head up. Right.
- 1:13:40Oh man, they said. I thought I had a kid on my
- 1:13:42head. I don't know what this.
- 1:13:44I don't know what this is. OK, OK, here's the other thing.
- 1:13:47Imagine doing this and your head and your and you can't connect
- 1:13:52your hands because your head is too big for like your head is
- 1:13:56too big so you can't connect. Those are babies.
- 1:14:01Do that to a baby. If you put their little arms
- 1:14:05around like this, it'll be like this for them.
- 1:14:10You said who has a baby out there that we can.
- 1:14:15Guys, it's real. People at home, grab your baby
- 1:14:19and the DMS and the comments. I need you to let us know this
- 1:14:24is a real thing. It's a real thing.
- 1:14:26It's a real thing because I've done it.
- 1:14:31She said. She said hey girl, I need you to
- 1:14:33bring that baby over and. This is the type of ants that I
- 1:14:38am. Now I'll watch him, he said.
- 1:14:41No, no problem. I'm.
- 1:14:43Bringing experiments on those bad boys.
- 1:14:47He said why do you have a lab coat on?
- 1:14:49He said don't worry about it. What time are you picking him
- 1:14:51up? He said you guys feel free to
- 1:14:53stay out a little bit later. We're doing a lot of Freud over
- 1:14:56here. Don't kid learn to walk after
- 1:15:00this, Yeah? She said she just started
- 1:15:02walking. I don't know.
- 1:15:03Yeah, I don't know. Just injected them.
- 1:15:12I have 3 kids. I don't have kids.
- 1:15:15It's. Funny, that's why I shouldn't be
- 1:15:18allowed to procreate. No, kids are kids are beautiful
- 1:15:23things. I thought I had this on do not
- 1:15:25disturb. I apologize.
- 1:15:27That's so rude. Let me see who's texting me.
- 1:15:34It's just dusty. Nothing fancy.
- 1:15:41Nothing fancy. OK, No.
- 1:15:44You are the reason I drink. Wow, Yeah, you like that one?
- 1:15:52I really like that guess it was up all night looking for that
- 1:15:55one, he said. Hi, he said I know it's it's
- 1:15:58coming. I.
- 1:15:59That one's a really good one. My sound effect board has grown
- 1:16:03tenfold. Oh, I'm excited.
- 1:16:05I'm excited. There he he'd be pressing out
- 1:16:07some new ones out of nowhere. Yeah, I watched the episode
- 1:16:09where you got the sound sound board, and I was like, oh, you
- 1:16:12have like the Undertaker sound. Yeah.
- 1:16:15And I was like, ah, that's what's up.
- 1:16:18Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
- 1:16:21So do you think it sounds like the Taco Bell?
- 1:16:23Yeah, sound. Oh yeah, that was also on the
- 1:16:27episode. Did you see the difference?
- 1:16:29What is it? It's just pitched up.
- 1:16:31Yeah. It's just pitched up, right?
- 1:16:32Yeah. Or the other ones pitched down.
- 1:16:34Yeah, one of them. That's cool, Dusty, You need to
- 1:16:37make a sound for us. I don't know.
- 1:16:41I don't, I don't know what it would be but like.
- 1:16:42I don't know what it would be. But like you had to, but that,
- 1:16:45that was cool. That was you.
- 1:16:46Won't Frannie's laugh? That's no, that's that's it.
- 1:16:52That's it. No, actually, you know what's
- 1:16:55worse is like my laugh gets worse with certain friends
- 1:16:58because I have friends who have really bad laughs like that.
- 1:17:03I make fun of him so much and so that I start to laugh like that.
- 1:17:06And. Like, like one of them.
- 1:17:09He laughs like a witch. Junior, shout out Junior.
- 1:17:13He's always like, oh, he was at the he was at my.
- 1:17:16Did you hear him laugh? I don't remember.
- 1:17:18You would have remembered. Memorable moment.
- 1:17:21Yeah, it's a memorable moment because.
- 1:17:23He's very like. Can't miss it.
- 1:17:27Can't. Do it.
- 1:17:28I can't wait. Out cackles like a witch.
- 1:17:31You're very much like a. Witch very hocus pocus.
- 1:17:33It's giving hocus pocus. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:17:36No. OK.
- 1:17:37So I think this is a great time for us to switch into lightning
- 1:17:41Ground. Yeah.
- 1:17:43So this is it's like that. It's like that.
- 1:17:45It's like that. Sorry.
- 1:17:48And like that too. And that's yes.
- 1:17:52That's hilarious. That's Junior's love.
- 1:17:56I said that to him. Literally called witches
- 1:18:00laughing. I must send that to him because
- 1:18:02that that was it. That was it.
- 1:18:03So we're going to do lightning ground.
- 1:18:05So this is where we ask you a bunch of lightning type
- 1:18:08questions and then we'll kind of just bounce back and forth and
- 1:18:11you can. After the liquor, I get it, I
- 1:18:13get it, I get it now, he said. Ah, it's got a little
- 1:18:16heavy-handed on this. He said.
- 1:18:18Time for the laughing round. Yes, yes, things come coming off
- 1:18:23the off the cuff for you. So one song that always grounds
- 1:18:27you. Oh, isn't she lovely, Stevie
- 1:18:29Wonder? Yeah, It's a it's about his
- 1:18:34daughter. It's a beautiful song.
- 1:18:36Yeah. He like, if you listen to the
- 1:18:38audio on is she lovely? It's actually his daughter.
- 1:18:41He like recorded that. He.
- 1:18:43It was like one of the first portable recorders and he like
- 1:18:47took it home while they're giving his daughter a bath.
- 1:18:49Yeah. So it's just in that song, it's
- 1:18:51just about her. And it's like.
- 1:18:53Yeah. So that's.
- 1:18:54Yeah, it's like, I don't know. Yeah, Lightning round.
- 1:18:56That's it. That's the.
- 1:18:57First, yeah, I love that. For creatives who feel blocked,
- 1:19:00what's one way to start telling their story again?
- 1:19:05Just do it. That's it.
- 1:19:08Just just put it into action. I think a lot of people get like
- 1:19:12choice paralysis or they get some sort of paralysis where
- 1:19:15they don't want to move and they start overthinking it that
- 1:19:17thought paralysis. So just just do it, you know,
- 1:19:21find somewhere, find somewhere safe, find somewhere safe.
- 1:19:25And just, I think it helps being surrounding yourself with people
- 1:19:28who want to see you when, yeah, that makes it a little bit
- 1:19:31easier, especially when you get into like, dark alleys in your
- 1:19:33mind, you know? For sure, for sure.
- 1:19:37Finish this sentence Community starts when?
- 1:19:45Run it. Run it back one more time.
- 1:19:47Finish the sentence community starts when.
- 1:19:52When everybody starts working together, I think that's, yeah,
- 1:19:55when you start seeing value in each other.
- 1:19:59Because there's things that I'm I'm good at and I do a lot of
- 1:20:01things, but I'm not. Great at I'm not great at
- 1:20:04everything. So, you know, everybody's seen
- 1:20:07value because everybody has value to them.
- 1:20:09Even people who feel like I don't, I don't have any value.
- 1:20:12Like you can do something, right.
- 1:20:13So I think that's it. It's again, being mindful of, of
- 1:20:17people, meeting people where they're at and just, and just, I
- 1:20:23don't know, doing that. Just when you see value in
- 1:20:25people, you know what I mean? And again, they don't have to
- 1:20:29like, oh, they can get me to this point, right?
- 1:20:32I think we start putting weight on that.
- 1:20:33It's like, well, I need this person to be my friend because
- 1:20:36they would help me do this and do all that.
- 1:20:38Just like, you know, everybody has value.
- 1:20:41So just, you know, people recognize you recognizing the
- 1:20:43value in yourself as well as recognizing the value in other
- 1:20:46people. You know, so not that people are
- 1:20:51monetary. Is that the word I'm looking
- 1:20:53for? Like where it's like, yeah,
- 1:20:55things don't need to be transactional, but you know,
- 1:20:58everybody has value, so. Morning creative or late night?
- 1:21:02Late night thinker. Shit late night thinker.
- 1:21:07So this is my schedule. You guys all right, The schedule
- 1:21:11is crazy, all right, So it's. I wake up at 7:00 and then I run
- 1:21:17or like, I don't run. I do not run.
- 1:21:19My mind runs. Let me tell you inside this mind
- 1:21:21fit, this is expensive. Yeah, this is Yeah, If my mind
- 1:21:28was running triathlon, you know what I mean?
- 1:21:30That's so. Spartan.
- 1:21:34He said yeah, what is it? What's the the the tribe that
- 1:21:38runs with no shoes for like? In Chihuahua Mexican.
- 1:21:42Yeah, I think so. The Oh my God, I can't think of
- 1:21:47it right now, but that's but it's in Chihuahua.
- 1:21:50That's that's my mind, Yeah. But so it's like wake up at 7:00
- 1:21:53and then I go to bed maybe at 1:32 every night.
- 1:21:58And then because I'm like. 132. Yeah, it's creative.
- 1:22:01That's very specific. 1:32 AM. No, like 1:30 or two.
- 1:22:07Oh yeah, he said. 01/30, he said he said.
- 1:22:11What do we? Do time, right?
- 1:22:15Well, eye covers, he said. Yeah, no 1:30 or two, like
- 1:22:19somewhere between I would say 1 and 2 when they're around, yeah.
- 1:22:22Then I'll just I'll go to bed or something like.
- 1:22:24That and you wake up at 7:00 AM. Yeah, and we're, we're talking
- 1:22:27about this. Remember I was like when you we
- 1:22:29set your alarm and it says like you have six hours, just you
- 1:22:34have five hours and you're like, why did you got.
- 1:22:38I did the math already, man. I already know.
- 1:22:40You don't got to tell me. Yeah, Yeah.
- 1:22:42So. Right now our phones be
- 1:22:45attacking us and they need to stop.
- 1:22:47Yeah, they need to. Stop.
- 1:22:48They need you to do what you were supposed to do.
- 1:22:49Just send them on. Yeah, we don't.
- 1:22:51Yeah, I don't. Need your commentary, yeah.
- 1:22:53Yeah. Yeah, I already know.
- 1:22:55I used my phone 2 hours more than last week.
- 1:22:57Oh. Yes, yes, I already know my
- 1:23:00screen time is higher now. You don't know what's going on
- 1:23:03in my life. And you both know that, OK.
- 1:23:05I'm in content creation mode now.
- 1:23:09This is unhealthy. Shut the fuck.
- 1:23:11Mind your business. Mind your business, all right?
- 1:23:15Yeah, yeah. So help me with the task.
- 1:23:17Go ahead and open up cap cut. All right, he said.
- 1:23:21I need you to open up. All right, get that Canva open.
- 1:23:29Yes, that's funny. It's a song that instantly makes
- 1:23:32you think of your kids. So isn't she lovely?
- 1:23:40It reminds me of my my daughter. What song?
- 1:23:45All right, so my kids, that's like for me, right?
- 1:23:50Like the vision I have of them and what that's what that's what
- 1:23:54song it's like. Isn't she lovely for my
- 1:23:55daughter? For my son, it's I would say
- 1:24:01this is weird. So they both like my daughter
- 1:24:04likes Get down on it by Kool and the gang like loves that song.
- 1:24:08It's that. And then what's the apple bottom
- 1:24:12jeans with the boots with the fur, the T pain.
- 1:24:14That's like that's like that's my son's song.
- 1:24:16Like when he was little that that's like the song.
- 1:24:18You know what I mean? Like these are songs that remind
- 1:24:20me of them. But if it's like songs that I'm
- 1:24:23like, if I was to go, what song that I would want you guys to
- 1:24:27listen to that were reminding me, remind you of me, I think it
- 1:24:32would be People Under the Stairs Jamboree Part 2.
- 1:24:35Like, so it's like if I go. So this is like morbid time.
- 1:24:39All right? You're probably just like, hell
- 1:24:42yeah. Time.
- 1:24:43Like you've been playing a safe drink.
- 1:24:45Drink up. Yeah, drink up things.
- 1:24:48Have been a little too safe here.
- 1:24:49Yeah, so, so I already have like, it's weird.
- 1:24:53I already have like, so I was on another podcast and like, I
- 1:24:57start talking like this and they were like, oh, I felt like they
- 1:25:00were like, hey, bro, you all right?
- 1:25:02And I'm like, I'm fucking fine, bro.
- 1:25:04Yeah, it's. Because you weren't around weird
- 1:25:06people. Yeah, so I think what I think
- 1:25:08what it is, is like you. And so I just made a post like a
- 1:25:11couple of days ago and it was like everyone's like, hey bro, I
- 1:25:13just want to make sure you're all right.
- 1:25:14I'm like, I'm talking perfectly fine.
- 1:25:16Like I, I feel like I have to have those conversations to stay
- 1:25:19fine. Like I have to be realistic with
- 1:25:21myself and realistic what, what I feel that people need to hear,
- 1:25:26IE people me being myself. Like I need to be honest with
- 1:25:30myself and instead of being like everything's all right, like
- 1:25:34everything, I have to have real talks with myself.
- 1:25:37But like I've already made the playlist.
- 1:25:39I got 5 tracks on there and it's like like if something happens
- 1:25:43like that's the, that's my playlist, it's my 55 songs.
- 1:25:48I'm done and I'm out. Damn.
- 1:25:49So yeah, you know what I mean. Display your body like a lying.
- 1:25:54Around yeah, you know the reason, The reason why I did
- 1:25:58this is because you can, like you can get your ashes, put in a
- 1:26:02record. Yes, I heard.
- 1:26:04That So I was like, I thought about that.
- 1:26:07So I was like. That's.
- 1:26:08Cool you can do and you can do 5 songs so it's like I'll tell you
- 1:26:12guys to play this look at my phone real quick you guys, I
- 1:26:14feel like I'm on the show. You know when everyone's like,
- 1:26:17let me get my phone real quick. Let me tell you to play this.
- 1:26:19Yeah, Yeah. You guys don't see that part
- 1:26:21because we edited it out, but yeah, that's.
- 1:26:22But well, you all have to send us pics and then we can do it.
- 1:26:26Yeah, yeah, yeah. So this is let me see, let me
- 1:26:28see, let me see. I I just, I thought I deleted
- 1:26:31it. And then the playlist is called
- 1:26:34If I Should Die tonight. All right, So these are the six
- 1:26:38songs. All right, Never can Say Goodbye
- 1:26:41by the Jackson 5 Sapo. I can't make it.
- 1:26:45Isn't she lovely? He's on there by Stevie Wonder,
- 1:26:48Don't Cry by Jay Dilla. So very hard to go by Tower of
- 1:26:54Power. Don't let no one get you down by
- 1:26:59war and then do better by Absol. That's it.
- 1:27:02Which is weird that the Absol just crept on there.
- 1:27:04That's my surprise. That's my surprise song.
- 1:27:06You know, it's like, what song will people be surprised?
- 1:27:08It's on your playlist. Yeah, it's a morbid playlist,
- 1:27:10but yeah, it's like Absol do better.
- 1:27:12Yeah. So I.
- 1:27:13Didn't know you can make yourself into a record.
- 1:27:14That's cool. You can make yourself into a
- 1:27:16tree, and that's what I want to be.
- 1:27:18Yeah, that was my other route. Mine's a.
- 1:27:20Tree, if I'm with the record route, you know, I had my last
- 1:27:22song pick too. It was gonna sound something
- 1:27:24like this. I knew what he ate for lunch.
- 1:27:35Because I know my family and friends will get a kick out of
- 1:27:38it. Well, he got us one last time.
- 1:27:42The man of times a dusty yes. Would you would you like prep it
- 1:27:48up like we prep it up with a speech?
- 1:27:50Like, Hey, you guys just Dusty and you know, I just wanted to
- 1:27:53tell you guys I love you, but I wanted to leave you guys with
- 1:27:55this song. And then they'll be like this,
- 1:27:59you know, And then you'll be like gotcha looks.
- 1:28:06So Dusty, you bitch. Jesus Christ.
- 1:28:10Oh my God. OK, so are you stricter about
- 1:28:13playlists or screen time with your kids?
- 1:28:18What do you mean like playlist? Yeah.
- 1:28:19Like it sounds like you're, would you be stricter around
- 1:28:21like the music that they listen to like and what type of music
- 1:28:24that they're like going to be listening to or screen time like
- 1:28:27I'm making sure that they're getting off of.
- 1:28:29Oh, that's, that's, that's a hard one because I think the
- 1:28:32music that you listen to, what you visually see gets into you a
- 1:28:37lot faster, right? I got like some.
- 1:28:42Saliva. Sugar.
- 1:28:43I got some saliva. Sugar Like Sugar Water, Men in
- 1:28:49Black, I think playlist I think because if you can, music can be
- 1:28:55therapy to people, right? So if you can instill the right
- 1:28:59songs that can get them through a lot of stuff.
- 1:29:03They're going to be up, they're going to see a lot of stuff,
- 1:29:05right? But if you can input the right
- 1:29:08songs, they can go down the rabbit hole that might lead him
- 1:29:13out of something, you know what I mean?
- 1:29:14So yeah, because there's some music that my dad, like, put me
- 1:29:17up on and I'm like, I'm like, oh shit, like I wish you were alive
- 1:29:21now so I can be like, damn, hey, this is a banger, bro.
- 1:29:23Like, you know what I mean? Like I didn't and.
- 1:29:25Then be able to actually appreciate it because you're
- 1:29:27right. Like there's A and when you're
- 1:29:28first young, you're just like, Oh my God, It means that I gotta
- 1:29:31get up hearing that song. Yeah.
- 1:29:33Or it means that like, oh, the fabuloso.
- 1:29:35I mean, whatever. You know what I mean?
- 1:29:37Like it. Oh, my dad's home.
- 1:29:39But now as you're older and you have more wisdom and more
- 1:29:44experiences under your pocket, you're like, damn, that hits
- 1:29:48deep now. What were you, what was he
- 1:29:50feeling? Yeah.
- 1:29:51What were you feeling that that was your song?
- 1:29:54I remember my mom, like when my parents split, they, she
- 1:29:58listened to Brenda, Brenda Russell's Piano in the Dark.
- 1:30:03And like, I now it's real hard for me to listen to.
- 1:30:06I think this is another reason why I started doing started
- 1:30:09doing playlists too, because I used to just do like Sunday
- 1:30:11cleaning sessions just like 1 song and then that was it.
- 1:30:16It was just like one song. I'm like, hey, you guys should
- 1:30:17probably check this song out. And I remember I did like I
- 1:30:20listened to that song and I was like, fuck dude, like knowing
- 1:30:23now you know, and having years and experiences underneath my
- 1:30:27belt, like damn, I was like, damn, my mom was like really
- 1:30:30like not she was fucked up. Like when my parents like, you
- 1:30:32know what I mean, 'cause I was like, she listened to that song.
- 1:30:34I remember she's listening to repeat and I'm like, song's a
- 1:30:36banger. But I'm like, fuck, like the
- 1:30:38context of the song and the song was popping when when they
- 1:30:41split. So it made sense.
- 1:30:43It like was that that tracks, right?
- 1:30:45But I'm like, damn. Like she was, she was going
- 1:30:47through it. It's like the Spotify rapped.
- 1:30:49It's like no one knew that you were going through it.
- 1:30:52And then Spotify we did we. Knew in your business they said
- 1:30:55screen time. Check your screen time.
- 1:30:58Spotify was like, you listen to this song like I, I love it,
- 1:31:05though. I love those analytics.
- 1:31:07Like they were like, On this date, you listen to music for 10
- 1:31:11hours straight and I'm like, yeah, that was a rough day.
- 1:31:13Well, and that that's the crazy thing with me, like that's
- 1:31:16that's the crazy thing. It's like I'll find I'm not sure
- 1:31:19if you guys are similar to this. They said it's like it's like
- 1:31:22you're autistic. Is that is that all right?
- 1:31:25Is you're like autistic? Like I'll listen to one song.
- 1:31:27People are like, what's on your playlist?
- 1:31:28And I still make playlists. You know, we got like hidden
- 1:31:31playlists that that I have, but it's like I'll listen to one
- 1:31:35song all day. Oh, I was about to ask you that,
- 1:31:39but then I decided not to ask you that because I was like all
- 1:31:42day. Are you a repeat playlist or is
- 1:31:44it a song? Yeah, it's it's one song.
- 1:31:46I'll listen. I'll find one song and then I'll
- 1:31:47just listen to it. Yeah, all day.
- 1:31:50Like it's there's a song. What was it?
- 1:31:53It was on my wrap up, but it was DAMS.
- 1:31:58It's like KBKB 9 and just something about just the
- 1:32:02storytelling in that song and like, and I was like, oh, I
- 1:32:05listen to it a lot. Home Improvement by Alchemist
- 1:32:08and Hit Boy, like just the context of what they're what
- 1:32:11they talk about in that. I'm just like man, like it's
- 1:32:17just on repeat. And then I'll next, you know,
- 1:32:18it's like I'm like, damn, I listen to this.
- 1:32:21I think it said that I was like, point, what's it .03 of?
- 1:32:25Like they're listening for that song.
- 1:32:26And I was like, I don't even know what I don't even know.
- 1:32:28I don't even know what the math is on.
- 1:32:30That yeah, yeah, you're like. You're welcome.
- 1:32:33You're welcome. Yeah, they said.
- 1:32:37Hey, I shot out something little sound.
- 1:32:39Check what you want to fall out. They won't fall onto the sound
- 1:32:43check. No.
- 1:32:47Yeah. It was like, that's crazy to me.
- 1:32:48Like to be like. But that's how I am to answer
- 1:32:51that question. Yeah, I just.
- 1:32:53I'm gonna repeat. That's awesome, I love it.
- 1:32:57What's a girl dad superpower you didn't know you had?
- 1:33:01Girl dad superpower that I didn't know I had.
- 1:33:06So my daughter's birthday is on the 29th of September and then
- 1:33:10mines is on the 30th. So crazy story.
- 1:33:13Story time with Miguel of course.
- 1:33:16So my son and my daughter, 2 separate moms right?
- 1:33:22But like they were both born in the same room at the hospital.
- 1:33:28Isn't that crazy? That is.
- 1:33:29Yeah, like both at Wesley. I think it's like room number 7
- 1:33:34or something like that. I took a picture of it and I was
- 1:33:36like, this room fucking feels familiar.
- 1:33:39And they both were born there. But me and my daughter and my
- 1:33:41son has definitely a special bond, but he's 18 now.
- 1:33:45So he's like phased out at a special bond.
- 1:33:47It's like now it's like got to got to, you know, it's your own,
- 1:33:51you got to find your own bond. You know what I mean?
- 1:33:53But when my daughter, yeah. So we're automatically close
- 1:33:58because our birthdays are two like a day apart, basically like
- 1:34:01a few hours. But superpowers, I don't know,
- 1:34:05just I don't want to say like letting her have her way.
- 1:34:08Like I'm very mindful of my daughter.
- 1:34:11I keep using mindful, but I'm very mindful.
- 1:34:13Like I want my daughter to be a good whatever, right?
- 1:34:18Whether she has like a wife or husband or whatever the case, I
- 1:34:22want her to be a good partner for somebody.
- 1:34:25So I'm very mindful and that's like my superpowers, like making
- 1:34:30sure that I'm getting her prepped up for to be a good
- 1:34:33partner. And being a good partner doesn't
- 1:34:36mean that you're serving somebody.
- 1:34:37Yeah. No, it doesn't.
- 1:34:38It's it's like a partnership you're talking.
- 1:34:40About yeah, just being mindful of people, you know what I mean,
- 1:34:43being the surrounding how to introduce herself, like she's at
- 1:34:47the office, all that she works for her desk at the office
- 1:34:50elevator service. So just having her be mindful
- 1:34:55just so that's, I guess that would be my superpower, if that
- 1:34:57is a superpower, you know, I just to be honest, she's my
- 1:35:01kryptonite. Do you know what I mean?
- 1:35:03So like, like all super powers are like, like, let me tell you,
- 1:35:07they do not work. I'm like, OK, you know what I
- 1:35:12mean? OK.
- 1:35:12I'm like, she's like, Dad, can you do that?
- 1:35:14Like, no, God, I guess we can, you know?
- 1:35:18You know, that's yeah. But that's yeah.
- 1:35:20She would be my kryptonite, to be completely honest.
- 1:35:22Yeah, Dusty, you got 1. OK, so we've now heard a little
- 1:35:28bit about both you, your stories, your passions and your
