- 0:16Speaker 1: that easy. Now, what is Prize Picks? First of all,
- 0:19Speaker 1: it's football season. Why not watch football while making cash?
- 0:22Speaker 1: It makes everything so much more fun. Trust me when
- 0:25Speaker 1: I say it. You put together a lineup, all right,
- 0:27Speaker 1: You're gonna pick more than or less than. See, you
- 0:34Speaker 1: got to get the schematics right. Maybe a touchdown, a
- 0:37Speaker 1: certain amount of yards, a certain amount of receiving yards,
- 0:40Speaker 1: rushing yards, passing yards, whatever it is. You put your
- 0:44Speaker 1: lineup together, you win cash and this week's lineup. Don't
- 0:48Speaker 1: forget to use the promo code Bootleg when you sign up.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Play five dollars, get fifty dollars in lineups. I like
- 0:54Speaker 1: Dak Prescott against the Jets. More than five and a
- 0:59Speaker 1: half rush yards, we like that. I like Bryce Young
- 1:03Speaker 1: who's had a rough year, but he's playing the Miami
- 1:06Speaker 1: Dolphins defense, which is a joke. And this feels like
- 1:09Speaker 1: Bryce Young might get bench Randy Dalton if he doesn't
- 1:12Speaker 1: ball out here. So I'm gonna go more than one
- 1:15Speaker 1: hundred and ninety five and a half yards passing, then
- 1:18Speaker 1: we're gonna go to the Giants and Saints game. The
- 1:21Speaker 1: Saints are in a trosis atrocious football, atrocious football team,
- 1:25Speaker 1: even though they seem to hang around in every game
- 1:27Speaker 1: that they playing. Give me the rookie boys. I'm talking
- 1:30Speaker 1: about Cam Scattabo more than sixty five and a half
- 1:33Speaker 1: rushing yards, and I like Jackson Dart more than forty
- 1:37Speaker 1: one and a half rushing yards. And then finally the
- 1:40Speaker 1: hometown hero, my boy Kyler Murray. Yes, Sir, Mighty Mouse,
- 1:45Speaker 1: more than thirty one and a half rushing yards against
- 1:48Speaker 1: the Tennessee Titans, the worst team in the NFL.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Go.
- 1:51Speaker 1: I mean, try that lineup and then follow me on
- 1:53Speaker 1: Prize Picks at Bootleg keV. Don't forget used the promo
- 1:55Speaker 1: code boot Leg Prize Picks downloaded. Support the podcast and
- 1:59Speaker 1: let's get into new episode Whole Cab Podcast. We got
- 2:05Speaker 1: a special guest here, returning guest Joy Taylor.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Hey welcome thanks for having me back.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Of course, of course we had a good time. I
- 2:13Speaker 1: don't know, it's like two years ago something like that,
- 2:14Speaker 1: but yeah, welcome back. How's everything? Obviously you know you are.
- 2:19Speaker 1: I guess you are a free agent now? Is that
- 2:20Speaker 1: what you would say? I feel like, But I feel
- 2:22Speaker 1: like you're kind of like doing you now, like you
- 2:26Speaker 1: have your own platform, your own shit going, like, how's
- 2:28Speaker 1: everything right now? With you?
- 2:30Speaker 2: Everything is? Everything's good? Actually, I feel a little like
- 2:37Speaker 2: when friends ask me how I'm doing. You ever go
- 2:40Speaker 2: through something and you're coming out of it and you
- 2:43Speaker 2: have like this anxiety about saying things are good. Yeah,
- 2:48Speaker 2: that's the stage I'm at right now, where I'm like,
- 2:50Speaker 2: I'm good, Like I am good, I'm good, I am good.
- 2:55Speaker 2: I need to practice saying that you're and affirming that
- 2:58Speaker 2: I'm okay and that I'm good.
- 3:00Speaker 3: But I am good, I too. Personal has been great.
- 3:03Speaker 2: It's been a stretch for me, like creatively and as
- 3:09Speaker 2: a personality because it's it's such a step outside of
- 3:13Speaker 2: sports and anyone who knows me well, vulnerability is not
- 3:17Speaker 2: my strong suit. And when you're talking about life and
- 3:22Speaker 2: politics and relationships and sex and love and family, and trauma,
- 3:26Speaker 2: Like you have to be vulnerable if you're going to
- 3:28Speaker 2: really connect with the audience. So it's been kind of
- 3:32Speaker 2: a therapeutic practice for me also, so learn how much
- 3:36Speaker 2: of myself in that space I'm going to share because
- 3:39Speaker 2: in the sports space, I've always respected that when people
- 3:43Speaker 2: are coming to me for sports, that's what they're coming
- 3:44Speaker 2: to me for. They don't want to care, they don't
- 3:46Speaker 2: really care how I take my giral cheese sandwiches. So
- 3:50Speaker 2: so it's been fun. And yeah, being a free agent
- 3:53Speaker 2: is also fun. There's a lot that's that's coming down
- 3:57Speaker 2: the pipeline. I haven't been I have been strategic about
- 4:02Speaker 2: not just jumping to the next thing. Yeaheah.
- 4:04Speaker 1: I think a lot of people they like it's almost
- 4:07Speaker 1: like your ego wants you to like bounce back super
- 4:09Speaker 1: quick for the public perception like yeah, like look I
- 4:12Speaker 1: moved on, I got a new thing, think something was
- 4:14Speaker 1: waiting for me. But I feel like you got to
- 4:15Speaker 1: take your.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Time like I do. And I've always been a very
- 4:19Speaker 2: intentional person about my career and I'm not a I'm
- 4:24Speaker 2: not an impulse decision maker when it comes to those things.
- 4:27Speaker 2: And I also regardless of what everybody thinks I've been
- 4:33Speaker 2: doing this a long time.
- 4:35Speaker 1: I just saw, like it's funny because I just saw
- 4:39Speaker 1: like a video because I just typed your shit in
- 4:42Speaker 1: on YouTube yesterday and I saw like a clip on
- 4:46Speaker 1: like the reels of you from like damn, you're like
- 4:49Speaker 1: fifteen years ago. Yeah, Like like I was like, dang,
- 4:53Speaker 1: Like it's crazy to think how long you were on TV.
- 4:56Speaker 2: I would cringe to watch that.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Because how long was that part of your journey?
- 5:02Speaker 3: I mean I was from I got Fox for nine
- 5:05Speaker 3: years for over.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Nine years before that, you were doing radio on Miami, right, Yeah.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Yeah, and I started my career in Miami. So I
- 5:12Speaker 2: my first internship was in two thousand and seven. So
- 5:16Speaker 2: that's how long I've been working in this business, which is,
- 5:20Speaker 2: you know, almost eighteen years. I mean almost twenty years,
- 5:22Speaker 2: so eighteen years. I don't know, I've been in too
- 5:25Speaker 2: much math today, but a long time.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Yeah. It's interesting too, because I feel like I've gotten
- 5:29Speaker 1: let go from places, and like you said, like I've
- 5:32Speaker 1: had two I had a few different experiences where I
- 5:35Speaker 1: felt grief and I felt like sad and then how
- 5:39Speaker 1: am I going to get through this? And then you know, recently,
- 5:41Speaker 1: when I got like over from my heart in twenty twenty,
- 5:42Speaker 1: I was like relieved. I was like, oh nice, now
- 5:45Speaker 1: I could just do me well.
- 5:47Speaker 2: I think when you're in the when you're really in
- 5:49Speaker 2: the business, you you at some point understand how the
- 5:55Speaker 2: business works. Right, So you know, our business has become
- 5:59Speaker 2: sort of this it'll space like there's the entertainers, there's
- 6:03Speaker 2: the athletes, there's the actors, and then there's the for
- 6:08Speaker 2: lack of a better term, journalist because you know, journalism
- 6:11Speaker 2: is something that I hold sacred. But for the sake
- 6:13Speaker 2: of this conversation, the journalists, the people that cover them,
- 6:16Speaker 2: the pundits, the personalities, and then the fans and all
- 6:21Speaker 2: of the lines have kind of become blurred. So people
- 6:24Speaker 2: are interested in what their you know, favorite personality, what
- 6:29Speaker 2: their careers are. I mean, like people have their own
- 6:31Speaker 2: platforms that have become cult followings in themselves. So I
- 6:34Speaker 2: do get the interest in it, and it's you know,
- 6:37Speaker 2: it's a it's an honor really to have a community
- 6:40Speaker 2: of people that follow you and you know, fans of
- 6:42Speaker 2: your work. But it is a part of the business.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Like it's cliche, but nothing lasts forever. And you know,
- 6:52Speaker 2: I'm very proud of the work that I put into
- 6:56Speaker 2: the business, the amount of time that I've been able
- 6:58Speaker 2: to be in the business, Like it's it's a privilege.
- 7:00Speaker 2: It's a hard business to lasten And you know I'm
- 7:04Speaker 2: still here.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Are you still, like do you still have the interest
- 7:09Speaker 1: to try to do the sports thing like on like
- 7:11Speaker 1: maybe like in a major way, like on a major network.
- 7:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I think the network thing is interesting
- 7:18Speaker 2: because the business has changed so much, So I don't
- 7:23Speaker 2: you know, I don't want to speak too soon, but
- 7:26Speaker 2: there's things happening. Well when when we have the ability
- 7:31Speaker 2: to talk about what's next, we will, But yes, I
- 7:34Speaker 2: will be in the sports space on a platform. I
- 7:37Speaker 2: could do things now in the sports space, but I
- 7:41Speaker 2: really want the next thing I do to be something
- 7:43Speaker 2: that I'm really passionate about, something that really cuts through
- 7:46Speaker 2: in the marketplace, and something that I've put like my
- 7:51Speaker 2: own blood, sweat and tears into. So yeah, in no
- 7:54Speaker 2: way am I done in the sports space. I'm in
- 7:58Speaker 2: the transitional part of that space. Yeah.
- 8:01Speaker 1: I mean in a world in which Skip Bayless is
- 8:03Speaker 1: now on Gills Arena talking football like yeah, like there's
- 8:07Speaker 1: no rules anymore.
- 8:08Speaker 2: No, No, there are no rules, and that's you know. I
- 8:10Speaker 2: was just having this conversation on a panel this past
- 8:12Speaker 2: weekend about how much the business has changed, and I
- 8:17Speaker 2: hesitate to tell people, tell everyone to start their own platform,
- 8:21Speaker 2: because everybody is not going to have a successful podcast.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Everyone is not going to have a successful digital show.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Everyone is not going to be the biggest creator on
- 8:29Speaker 2: the planet. Like that's not how it works. However, it
- 8:32Speaker 2: is part of the world we live in to create content.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Whether it everything you know goes off and is viral
- 8:41Speaker 2: or is the biggest hit, really doesn't matter. You can
- 8:43Speaker 2: no longer wait for somebody to come and give you
- 8:46Speaker 2: the space that you want in the business, whatever it is,
- 8:49Speaker 2: whether you are working pr whether you work in social
- 8:52Speaker 2: media right, whether you are you know, a salesperson, like
- 8:55Speaker 2: you have to create your own energy in the business.
- 8:59Speaker 2: The I mean, look at what's happening at these at
- 9:01Speaker 2: these big networks, Like we're in hell this these these
- 9:05Speaker 2: conglomerates coming together, Like what's looking It's so beyond our
- 9:09Speaker 2: pay grade and like this shit is international fucking Illuminati shit,
- 9:15Speaker 2: Like you can't don't worry about that, Like it is
- 9:17Speaker 2: the people have spoken and these microphones are moving the needle,
- 9:22Speaker 2: and you have to be comfortable in that space. It
- 9:25Speaker 2: is the wild West. It is a different world, certainly
- 9:28Speaker 2: different world than I grew up in, certainly different world
- 9:30Speaker 2: than I came up in in the business. But it
- 9:34Speaker 2: is what it is.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Like.
- 9:35Speaker 2: You can't fight how the industry has changed. Think about
- 9:38Speaker 2: how much shit has changed just from twenty nineteen Zion
- 9:40Speaker 2: now like Zoom digital shows, the ability to interview people
- 9:46Speaker 2: who live on the other side of the planet, to
- 9:48Speaker 2: do shows with people who are not in the same city.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Like everything is like you know, just I always tell people,
- 9:55Speaker 1: I'm like, man, I don't know the zoom shit's kind
- 9:56Speaker 1: of played. And then Shannon and Chado CHOSINGO dude cap
- 10:00Speaker 1: and it goes crazy.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Of course, zoo because because we're used to as consumers
- 10:05Speaker 2: seeing that now and kids don't watch TV, right, they
- 10:09Speaker 2: don't watch TV. They're not gonna start watching TV.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Most people, like I would say, under thirty probably don't
- 10:15Speaker 1: watch TV. Like I'm on YouTube, like right, like even
- 10:18Speaker 1: my news Like I'm like, you know, if I'll just
- 10:20Speaker 1: look at the YouTube.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Lo, our habits have changed, right, So because of that,
- 10:24Speaker 2: where you consume things has changed also, and it's why
- 10:29Speaker 2: every massive entity is trying to find a way to
- 10:33Speaker 2: infiltrate this screen as well. So you know, it's all
- 10:37Speaker 2: very like inside baseball in some ways. But that's just
- 10:40Speaker 2: what the future is.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Hey, we got to stop the interview to tell you
- 10:43Speaker 1: about our good folks, odd Socks man. Now, these are
- 10:46Speaker 1: the odd Socks Basics, ladies and gentlemen. Now when I
- 10:49Speaker 1: tell you this is a product that every single day
- 10:53Speaker 1: I'm alive, for the last five six years I have
- 10:57Speaker 1: used are these odd Socks Basics. Now, what odd Socks
- 11:00Speaker 1: is doing is they're kind of reinventing the sock game,
- 11:02Speaker 1: if we're being honest, and the underwear game. You know,
- 11:04Speaker 1: a lot of times you'll hit Walmart, you'll hit Target,
- 11:07Speaker 1: you'll get some socks, you get some draws. They're affordable,
- 11:10Speaker 1: they end up with holes in them, they don't really
- 11:12Speaker 1: feel great. Not odd Socks, ladies and gentlemen. These odd
- 11:15Speaker 1: Socks Basics are the most comfortable socks I've ever had
- 11:18Speaker 1: on my feet. Not only that, but they're super affordable.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Fourteen ninety nine for a six pack. That's it Oddsocks
- 11:28Speaker 1: dot Com. And if you don't believe me, sock check full. Wait,
- 11:34Speaker 1: that's the ex is on the other side. There we go. Ah,
- 11:38Speaker 1: you see that. Sorry you had to see those white legs.
- 11:42Speaker 1: But it's so dope that, you know, I get to
- 11:45Speaker 1: push a product that I use and that I love,
- 11:47Speaker 1: so odd Socks they got the six pack socks for
- 11:50Speaker 1: fourteen ninety nine a odd socks dot com. The basics.
- 11:53Speaker 1: This is the future of socks, the future of underwear
- 11:57Speaker 1: comfort and affordability, affordability without jeopardizing the quality because they
- 12:03Speaker 1: are the most comfortable socks you ever put on your feet.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Ladies and gents and the ETCeteras. Got to show love
- 12:08Speaker 1: to the ETCeteras. We like all the stripes on the flag.
- 12:11Speaker 1: There are odd socks dot com. Man, much love to
- 12:14Speaker 1: my brothers over there. Make sure you get some right now,
- 12:16Speaker 1: odd socks dot Com. Let's get back to the interview.
- 12:18Speaker 1: I wanted to ask you so a couple of years ago,
- 12:21Speaker 1: maybe it's like a year and a half ago. This
- 12:24Speaker 1: lawsuit thing comes out and your name's in it, and
- 12:26Speaker 1: obviously you don't acknowledge it. Is that like when you
- 12:29Speaker 1: go through something like that and you just see, because
- 12:31Speaker 1: I know you have to see, like the noise around
- 12:34Speaker 1: your name online even some of the people who maybe
- 12:37Speaker 1: formerly worked at the network, Like I know everyone's got
- 12:40Speaker 1: a YouTube channel. Is that a hard thing to like
- 12:44Speaker 1: because you're an outspoken person who I'm sure just wants
- 12:47Speaker 1: to defend themselves and be like, motherfucker. Yes, Is that
- 12:51Speaker 1: a hard thing to go through? And is that a
- 12:53Speaker 1: hard thing to kind of like just kind of let
- 12:56Speaker 1: the world come to their own conclusions because you really
- 12:58Speaker 1: didn't come out and speak about it while you're at
- 13:00Speaker 1: the network.
- 13:02Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a hard thing to go through.
- 13:04Speaker 1: I can imagine. Yeah, people, because you can't you're not control,
- 13:07Speaker 1: like you're letting the poet kind of control your narrative
- 13:09Speaker 1: at a certain point.
- 13:10Speaker 2: Yeah. But I've been in the business long enough and
- 13:13Speaker 2: seeing people go through through things long enough to see
- 13:16Speaker 2: every kind of mistake people make when they're in the
- 13:20Speaker 2: middle of something right, and when you know the truth,
- 13:24Speaker 2: it really helps you sleep at night mm hmm, regardless
- 13:28Speaker 2: of what people are saying about you.
- 13:29Speaker 3: And of course you know when you're when your name is.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Being dragged and you're included in horrible conversations and people
- 13:36Speaker 2: are saying, wow, thats shit about you. You want to
- 13:38Speaker 2: defend yourself, but who are you gonna win with? And
- 13:41Speaker 2: for what. And people are gonna believe what they want
- 13:43Speaker 2: to believe at the end of the day anyway, right,
- 13:45Speaker 2: So for me it was it was definitely very difficult
- 13:49Speaker 2: to go through. But I had an amazing group of
- 13:52Speaker 2: people around me, an amazing team, most of whom you know,
- 13:56Speaker 2: and you have to just stay stay ground. Did and
- 14:01Speaker 2: I'm glad I I handled it the way that I did.
- 14:03Speaker 2: I do not have any regrets about how it all
- 14:06Speaker 2: went down from from my ends. So yeah, I wouldn't
- 14:11Speaker 2: wantn't do it.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Was there anybody who because I felt like, you know,
- 14:15Speaker 1: I saw certain people speaking on it, like like a
- 14:16Speaker 1: Marcella's Wiley who's got a YouTube channel. It feels like
- 14:19Speaker 1: he's kind of turned into like a sports announcer gossip channel.
- 14:24Speaker 1: But was there anybody whose relationship like you you like,
- 14:27Speaker 1: were surprised by, like, you know, because I feel like
- 14:31Speaker 1: people are gonna say what they're gonna say, did did
- 14:33Speaker 1: you lose any friendships?
- 14:34Speaker 2: Or for sure? For sure? For sure and the and
- 14:39Speaker 2: there's there's a list And I'm to be clear, it's
- 14:43Speaker 2: not it's not like cool. Just because I didn't say
- 14:48Speaker 2: ship does.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Not mean it's cool.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Just when everything happened. I did not look at anything.
- 14:54Speaker 2: I did not go online. I did not read comments,
- 14:56Speaker 2: I did not watch videos, I did not consume shows.
- 14:59Speaker 2: I've never been somebody who looks up or consumes anything
- 15:04Speaker 2: that throughout my career. When people hate on me, I'm
- 15:06Speaker 2: not like, oh, let me read this arcurity with somebody said,
- 15:09Speaker 2: I've never watched a second of any of these things. Subconsciously,
- 15:14Speaker 2: it gets to you unless somebody from my team has
- 15:16Speaker 2: sent it to me, like you need to see this,
- 15:19Speaker 2: how do you want to handle this? I have not
- 15:21Speaker 2: gone to look for it. I don't consume it. It
- 15:25Speaker 2: does get in your head, but it also it enrages.
- 15:28Speaker 3: You to a point where you lose yourself.
- 15:31Speaker 2: Regardless of what the situation is, whether you're guilty or
- 15:35Speaker 2: not guilty, you're going to react the same because you're
- 15:38Speaker 2: enraged by the inability to take control of the situation.
- 15:41Speaker 2: And if you're an aspirational person at any point, you're
- 15:44Speaker 2: probably also a control freak to some level. And that's
- 15:48Speaker 2: all being challenged all at once, on top of it
- 15:50Speaker 2: being a very emotional and hard thing to go through.
- 15:53Speaker 3: So yeah, there are people, for sure, for sure.
- 15:57Speaker 2: Going to have to see me at some point and
- 16:00Speaker 2: I don't play fair, so we'll get there. But I'm
- 16:05Speaker 2: a I'm a slow kill. I always have been right,
- 16:08Speaker 2: So twelve years from now when I pop out the bushes,
- 16:10Speaker 2: don't act surprised.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Right.
- 16:13Speaker 2: But it also, you know, people are always like, oh,
- 16:15Speaker 2: like you got to forgive, Like forgiveness it's for you,
- 16:18Speaker 2: it's not for them, Okay, Like this is not consuming
- 16:21Speaker 2: my life.
- 16:22Speaker 1: I'm like, you're not like driven, My skin is.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Clear, I'm hydrated, Like I'm doing fine. It's yeah, it's
- 16:29Speaker 2: not like getting me out of bed in the morning cool.
- 16:32Speaker 2: But I do think it's important. It's so funny how
- 16:36Speaker 2: like conversations that you have in life like come up
- 16:39Speaker 2: again and again. Because I was just talking about this
- 16:41Speaker 2: last night. I think it's important to let people know
- 16:45Speaker 2: not to play with you.
- 16:46Speaker 1: And let them know where they stand with you too.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Yeah, because sit is not cool And I'm actually I'm
- 16:50Speaker 2: actually if you want to say whatever you want to say, cool.
- 16:54Speaker 2: But what I think is interesting is happening now across
- 16:58Speaker 2: the board, not just with me, like with everybody, is
- 17:00Speaker 2: like people want to say shit, and then when someone
- 17:03Speaker 2: says something back, they're like, god, right, what inspired this?
- 17:08Speaker 2: Like what the fucker what are you talking about? Like
- 17:11Speaker 2: in politics, in fucking sports and entertainment, like across the board,
- 17:15Speaker 2: people pop off and then when someone says something mean back,
- 17:18Speaker 2: it's like, what did you think? What kind of energy
- 17:21Speaker 2: were you expecting? The energy you put out is the
- 17:23Speaker 2: energy you're going to get back? Who taught you anything different?
- 17:27Speaker 2: It's wild to me. And it's not about canceling or
- 17:31Speaker 2: people being sensitive. I say this all the time. We
- 17:35Speaker 2: need to reintroduce hand to hand combat. We need more
- 17:39Speaker 2: violence in the world, not less violence, just less deadly violence.
- 17:43Speaker 2: But there needs to be a time, like there was
- 17:46Speaker 2: a time where you would get the shit smacked out
- 17:48Speaker 2: of you if you said certain things and you knew
- 17:50Speaker 2: that and you were either willing to take the risk
- 17:53Speaker 2: or you shut your fucking mouth. And people just do
- 17:56Speaker 2: not have that anxiety anymore. They have no anxiety about
- 17:59Speaker 2: getting checks on any Like.
- 18:00Speaker 1: It's the internet. It's the Internet. It's like the safe space.
- 18:03Speaker 1: People will say the craziest shit about you and then
- 18:05Speaker 1: you see them in person and it's like.
- 18:07Speaker 3: We need less safe spaces.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Do away with this.
- 18:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, like the way people talk online is insane.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Like I saw something insane.
- 18:15Speaker 1: I saw some Laura Lumer said today about Jasmin Crockett.
- 18:19Speaker 1: It was the most racist, crazy shit I've ever seen,
- 18:21Speaker 1: and I was like, this bitch would not say this
- 18:22Speaker 1: in person. This is crazy.
- 18:23Speaker 2: Of course not, but actually, in some ways I think
- 18:27Speaker 2: that they might because they know there's nothing that's going
- 18:30Speaker 2: to happen to that. They know that that person is
- 18:35Speaker 2: gonna get sued or it's gonna get immediately arrested.
- 18:38Speaker 1: You can go it hit me because correct, And.
- 18:41Speaker 3: It's like that sucks, pussy ass shit.
- 18:43Speaker 2: We talk about this all the time in sports because
- 18:46Speaker 2: you saw the other day the guy at the game
- 18:50Speaker 2: who hit Lamar Jackson on the head. So I'm popping
- 18:53Speaker 2: off about it immediately because I go from zero to
- 18:57Speaker 2: a thousand when fans get involved with athletes. This is
- 19:01Speaker 2: their workplace. You are here to observe the second that
- 19:06Speaker 2: you insert yourself in the game. These dickheads that run
- 19:09Speaker 2: that streak across the field, these people that touch the players,
- 19:14Speaker 2: like if they if they remove your neck from your head,
- 19:20Speaker 2: I don't care. You have introduced a physical interaction with
- 19:25Speaker 2: a professional athlete. Whatever they want to do to you
- 19:27Speaker 2: is what they want to do. And they and in
- 19:29Speaker 2: my opinion, they should get free range. Like if you
- 19:31Speaker 2: jump on the field and they fucking tackle you and
- 19:34Speaker 2: you are cooked, like that was the choice you made,
- 19:36Speaker 2: you decided to enter this arena. It drives me insane.
- 19:40Speaker 2: But people just do things and they have no consequences
- 19:43Speaker 2: because none of us are saying everyone should just go
- 19:45Speaker 2: out and kill each other. Of course not, but damn, like,
- 19:49Speaker 2: could we just square up and get this over with?
- 19:52Speaker 1: Do you feel like for you, is there anybody on
- 19:54Speaker 1: that list that if you see him, you're gonna be like, yo,
- 19:56Speaker 1: can I talk to you outside?
- 19:58Speaker 2: So yes, there are are definitely people that I will
- 20:03Speaker 2: have conversations with. But the other part of it is,
- 20:06Speaker 2: you know, because there's consequences, It's like, what are the
- 20:12Speaker 2: consequences for me? Because fuck the consequences for you.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Yeah, you don't want to jeopardize the bag. You know
- 20:17Speaker 1: what I'm saying, You don't want to jeopardize your freedom.
- 20:19Speaker 1: And like you said, people.
- 20:20Speaker 3: Jail keeps me out of a lot of shit, for sure.
- 20:23Speaker 2: I don't know how people go to jail. I will
- 20:25Speaker 2: tell you what, I'm not going to jail.
- 20:27Speaker 1: In jail twice it is not great.
- 20:28Speaker 2: I have been inside several jails.
- 20:31Speaker 1: I'm not it is not good. I mean, I've only
- 20:33Speaker 1: spent the night twice, but each time I was, oh
- 20:36Speaker 1: my god, give us. One time I used to roll
- 20:40Speaker 1: the toilet paper as a pillow in a holding cell
- 20:41Speaker 1: with like fifty other guys.
- 20:44Speaker 2: I don't want to know parts.
- 20:45Speaker 1: You don't want no part of that.
- 20:46Speaker 3: You guys are lucky jail exists.
- 20:49Speaker 1: I saw you. First of all, I had drafted your
- 20:53Speaker 1: nephew as a sleeper rookie tied end. He's on the Jets.
- 20:57Speaker 1: How cool was that to be able to go and
- 20:59Speaker 1: see him play his first game?
- 21:00Speaker 3: It was crazy, you know.
- 21:02Speaker 1: It's he was in Michigan, right, No, it was LSU, that's.
- 21:05Speaker 3: Right, but LSU it was crazy, you know.
- 21:09Speaker 2: It's it's been what you're Jason retire. Oh my god,
- 21:12Speaker 2: I'm getting old.
- 21:13Speaker 1: It's been a while.
- 21:14Speaker 2: It's been a while, but it's been that long, really,
- 21:18Speaker 2: And they both my nephews play college football. So watching
- 21:22Speaker 2: them play college, you know, brought that back. But now
- 21:27Speaker 2: we're seeing him in the NFL. At this stage, I forgot, like,
- 21:31Speaker 2: oh shit, this is different.
- 21:34Speaker 1: It was a crazy game.
- 21:35Speaker 2: You watched with anxiety the whole time, like it is
- 21:38Speaker 2: not an enjoyable experience. Like it was exciting to see
- 21:41Speaker 2: him come out and the game started and I'm like,
- 21:44Speaker 2: oh my god, my little baby, and he's like still
- 21:47Speaker 2: a baby, he's twenty one years old. Crazy, But then
- 21:51Speaker 2: like the whole time, I'm just worried, and then the
- 21:53Speaker 2: game's over.
- 21:54Speaker 1: It's such a crazy game.
- 21:55Speaker 2: That was a stealer Jets game. Yeah, no, they played well,
- 22:00Speaker 2: but yeah it was. It was exciting at his first
- 22:02Speaker 2: catch on a good drive, but it's it's really awesome
- 22:06Speaker 2: to see that. And I mean, Jason is crushing it
- 22:08Speaker 2: at University of Miami. He's a defensive line coach. They
- 22:11Speaker 2: have like one of the best defensive lines in the country.
- 22:13Speaker 2: And my nephew's there as well.
- 22:14Speaker 1: As all I know about because I'm not a big
- 22:15Speaker 1: college guy, I just know that Pat McAfee just dived
- 22:18Speaker 1: off of the fucking swimming pool.
- 22:21Speaker 2: I couldn't watch it. I couldn't watch it. I am
- 22:23Speaker 2: not somebody who's afraid of heights, but that that swimming
- 22:27Speaker 2: pool shit.
- 22:28Speaker 1: I watched it, and I was so out of breath
- 22:29Speaker 1: watching him run and climb up those ladders. Well by
- 22:34Speaker 1: the time he got to the top of that fucking thing.
- 22:35Speaker 1: I was like, this guy's got it. I don't care
- 22:37Speaker 1: how its shape you are. That dude had to be dying.
- 22:39Speaker 2: It's it's making me not just think about it. I
- 22:41Speaker 2: could not.
- 22:42Speaker 3: I would be so fucking scared to jump off of that.
- 22:46Speaker 1: Yeah nuts, I'm a heights guy too. I can't do it.
- 22:49Speaker 3: I'm not even scared of heights.
- 22:50Speaker 2: But there's so many things that could go wrong when
- 22:52Speaker 2: you're not a diver, Like if you make one wrong move,
- 22:55Speaker 2: what happens if you smack your face off the water,
- 22:57Speaker 2: which I recently did. At my friend's boucher party, we
- 23:00Speaker 2: had like a to be fair, I was drinking, so
- 23:04Speaker 2: it changed the drink or something, drink probably, but we
- 23:09Speaker 2: had like a riverboat thing and I jumped off the
- 23:12Speaker 2: top and like mid jump, I changed. I was I
- 23:15Speaker 2: was going the right way, like you know you're supposed
- 23:17Speaker 2: to just like go in, and then I changed your
- 23:19Speaker 2: form mid jump, straight face planted. I thought, I like
- 23:25Speaker 2: gave myself a heart attack. Yeah, so I can't imagine
- 23:27Speaker 2: it feels like jumping off of that.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Yeh, no, you already know. Man. Want to give a
- 23:32Speaker 1: shout out to slap Woods for presenting the podcast. Only papers.
- 23:36Speaker 1: I smoked man only leafs that we let fly around
- 23:39Speaker 1: here on the Blue Leg Cap podcast. We just did
- 23:41Speaker 1: a crazy pool party with them too. That was insane
- 23:43Speaker 1: out here in La. The shout out to slap Woods
- 23:45Speaker 1: when I tell you man quality. They smoked so good.
- 23:49Speaker 1: And they're called slap Woods because they slap I know
- 23:52Speaker 1: that's like there, you know their tagline, but it's also
- 23:56Speaker 1: the truth, all right, So look, go follow them at
- 23:59Speaker 1: slap Woods. Make sure you hit their website. And if

- 24:24Speaker 1: wraps are fire. Slap woods man, make sure you go

- 24:29Speaker 1: on Instagram at slap Woods. Let's get back to the podcast.
- 24:33Speaker 1: I saw recently. I don't know if you have a
- 24:35Speaker 1: relationship with her, but Molly Kierram had resigned out of
- 24:38Speaker 1: nowhere kind of yeah, are you guys friends?
- 24:42Speaker 2: Yeah, we are. I don't, I don't know. I have
- 24:44Speaker 2: no insight into what happens.
- 24:47Speaker 1: I think Molly is if you and Molly did a
- 24:49Speaker 1: pod like about sports, that might go.
- 24:52Speaker 3: Fucking People have suggested that what.
- 24:55Speaker 1: I thought, I said, oh, Joy and Milly Karen did?
- 24:57Speaker 2: I mean, I love Molly.
- 24:58Speaker 1: I think best of both that works coming together.
- 25:01Speaker 2: She's great, She's she's done such a great job on
- 25:03Speaker 2: that show and having done that job, having been a moderator,
- 25:08Speaker 2: because I don't I mean, some of you are new here,
- 25:10Speaker 2: but I launched Undisputed with Skip and Shannon, so I
- 25:14Speaker 2: did that job for two years and it is not
- 25:17Speaker 2: an easy job, and it requires a lot of emotional intelligence,
- 25:24Speaker 2: I will say, on top of being a great like
- 25:27Speaker 2: broadcaster and understanding this like the nuance of the business,
- 25:30Speaker 2: how to go to break, how to you know, properly
- 25:33Speaker 2: interrupt people to get to break those type of things.
- 25:36Speaker 2: She's just so so good at that. Like I hate
- 25:39Speaker 2: to see her go off that show because she's just
- 25:41Speaker 2: she's She's invaluable to how that works. I'm really interested
- 25:45Speaker 2: to see who, you know, they replace her with. But
- 25:48Speaker 2: she's she's one of the best in the business. Whatever
- 25:50Speaker 2: she does next, she's going to do a great job
- 25:51Speaker 2: at But you know, I hate to see her go
- 25:54Speaker 2: because she's just so good at It.
- 25:56Speaker 1: Was moderating undisputed initially. Did you ever you know, because
- 26:00Speaker 1: felt it kind of felt like once things kind of
- 26:02Speaker 1: fell apart between Skip and Shannon, Like like, I guess
- 26:06Speaker 1: I always watched and assume that they were friends, Like, like,
- 26:10Speaker 1: what was the dynamic like from the beginning, because obviously
- 26:13Speaker 1: they're getting to know each other and you, I mean,
- 26:15Speaker 1: you're new to the situation. What was that like kind
- 26:18Speaker 1: of getting like everybody getting used to each other, and
- 26:20Speaker 1: like you feel like it was a pretty quick thing
- 26:23Speaker 1: where you realize, oh, they got something here, like they
- 26:25Speaker 1: got some chemistry, this is gonna work, or.
- 26:27Speaker 2: Well, I think that time was such a it was
- 26:33Speaker 2: just such a different time, Like the network was at
- 26:36Speaker 2: a completely different place, the structure the network was different.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Shannon was coming in completely new to that kind of role.
- 26:46Speaker 1: For sure.
- 26:47Speaker 2: Skip is, you know, leaving ESPN. It's this huge deal.
- 26:51Speaker 1: He's watching.
- 26:53Speaker 2: Right, Well, Colin was there, but like, you know, the
- 26:57Speaker 2: big deal of him leaving first take and leaving stephen
- 27:00Speaker 2: A and what what steven A going to do and
- 27:02Speaker 2: what Skip going to do? And the three of us
- 27:07Speaker 2: had never worked together. I didn't know Skip, I don't
- 27:10Speaker 2: know Shannon. So it just was like what we started
- 27:14Speaker 2: with and what it became or just two completely different
- 27:17Speaker 2: shows and dynamics and humans really but yeah, I mean
- 27:22Speaker 2: it was a it was a big undertaking, Like it
- 27:25Speaker 2: was a lot of practice on my part because I
- 27:27Speaker 2: had also never done that role. I'd only ever worked
- 27:29Speaker 2: as a personality.
- 27:31Speaker 1: Right, which is way different than yeah, way different way.
- 27:34Speaker 2: Yeah, And it was they were kind of worried about it,
- 27:36Speaker 2: like Skip particularly like he didn't know if I was
- 27:38Speaker 2: going to be able to be quiet, Like he's like,
- 27:41Speaker 2: are you going to be this is a hard job
- 27:42Speaker 2: to do, Like you're gonna want to as as someone
- 27:45Speaker 2: coming from you know, four hours of morning drive sports
- 27:48Speaker 2: stock radio, are you going to be able to do this?
- 27:51Speaker 2: Because I know what I would want to do, and
- 27:54Speaker 2: you know, I was there was a decision I had
- 27:55Speaker 2: to make, like this is a big opportunity. It's a network.
- 27:58Speaker 2: I mean, I was already at the network, but but
- 28:00Speaker 2: you know, this is a big opportunity on the network.
- 28:02Speaker 2: We're going to travel over the country, there's going to
- 28:05Speaker 2: be a big budget behind.
- 28:06Speaker 3: You know, marketing it.
- 28:07Speaker 2: Like it's a big step up for me in my career,
- 28:09Speaker 2: so I can, you know, be strategic about what I'm
- 28:12Speaker 2: doing at this point in my career. But it was
- 28:15Speaker 2: a lot of getting to know him, getting to know Shannon,
- 28:18Speaker 2: kind of how they interacted, what, you know, what their
- 28:21Speaker 2: little nuances were, like what what what jokes to make
- 28:25Speaker 2: when you know it's it is like a real balancing act.
- 28:28Speaker 2: And at that time that show was really like the
- 28:31Speaker 2: traditional debate format, Like it's not all of these shows
- 28:34Speaker 2: have sort of morphed into panel shows now, which I prefer.
- 28:38Speaker 2: I think it's much more consumable. But preference or not,
- 28:43Speaker 2: that's what it was like. It was like do back
- 28:46Speaker 2: and forth, get the break, very structured show. So it
- 28:49Speaker 2: was a lot of learning on my part.
- 28:52Speaker 1: What was like the one of the cool because during
- 28:54Speaker 1: those two years, I'm sure you guys went everywhere that
- 28:57Speaker 1: was important, whether it's you know, wherever the finals are
- 28:59Speaker 1: or what was like the coolest trip you got to
- 29:02Speaker 1: go on in like the coolest place you're able to broadcast,
- 29:05Speaker 1: or even just like the funnest trip, like we were
- 29:06Speaker 1: like yo when we went here. It was it was crazy.
- 29:08Speaker 2: I mean, I think the Mayweather McGregor fight was kind
- 29:13Speaker 2: of the craziest. The most memorable I guess trip or
- 29:18Speaker 2: moment for me in my career was doing the Super
- 29:21Speaker 2: Bowl in Miami in twenty ninth. Well, I guess it
- 29:23Speaker 2: was twenty twenty. Yeah, before everything shuts down with Colin.
- 29:26Speaker 2: It was you know, the week Kobe died, and it
- 29:29Speaker 2: was just like it was just such a crazy, crazy time.
- 29:34Speaker 2: But yeah, the McGregor Mayweather fight was insane. It was
- 29:39Speaker 2: an insane spectacle. I mean, what the what you know,
- 29:42Speaker 2: they're both of their careers are and where they are now. Again,
- 29:46Speaker 2: I think like things, so much stuff happens that we
- 29:49Speaker 2: forget what people were at these, you know, certain points.
- 29:54Speaker 2: I knew it was going to be a shit show
- 29:55Speaker 2: because I went to the the press conference at Staples.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Remember the first time was here in LA So I
- 30:03Speaker 2: went to the first one and we did like a
- 30:04Speaker 2: live stream from it, and I was like, I'd been
- 30:08Speaker 2: to press conferences before. I've been to McGregor press conference
- 30:10Speaker 2: before at UFC in New York when he had his
- 30:12Speaker 2: first fight there, it was like it was indescribable madness,
- 30:18Speaker 2: Like there was did you go to it?
- 30:20Speaker 1: No, I did not know. I wasn't living here. Well
- 30:21Speaker 1: I was living here at that time. That didn't go now,
- 30:23Speaker 1: I was.
- 30:24Speaker 2: I was fucking chaos. And then they had there's just
- 30:27Speaker 2: like you know, the fireworks and the place is packed
- 30:30Speaker 2: with people. I mean, it's an opportunity for people, but
- 30:32Speaker 2: I think it was like one dollar to get in,
- 30:34Speaker 2: so like, this is an opportunity for people to see
- 30:35Speaker 2: McGregor and Mayweather. Sure you know they're the people that
- 30:38Speaker 2: won't be able to go through the fight. It's such
- 30:41Speaker 2: a spectacle. The media is everywhere. The two of them
- 30:44Speaker 2: are on stage with microphones like exchanging insults, right, and
- 30:48Speaker 2: I'm like, they have to do this in six more cities.
- 30:52Speaker 2: This is this is like this is going to devolve
- 30:55Speaker 2: into complete madness. So which it did, and then we
- 30:59Speaker 2: get to the fight. Like the McGregor fans are everywhere.
- 31:03Speaker 2: Vegas for a fight weekend is always crazy, but I
- 31:05Speaker 2: a bunch of drunk irishmen everywhere.
- 31:09Speaker 3: And the city was like shut down.
- 31:10Speaker 2: It was so busy. And fight weekends are always crazy
- 31:13Speaker 2: in Vegas, but that was like that was a spectacle
- 31:16Speaker 2: and we didn't know what it was going to be
- 31:18Speaker 2: because that was I don't want to say that was like.
- 31:21Speaker 1: The start of going on right now.
- 31:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it was the start of these these
- 31:26Speaker 2: exhibition fights. And I mean everyone had an opinion about it.
- 31:31Speaker 2: Everyone was there, like everyone might even the people who
- 31:34Speaker 2: hated it were like I have to see, like I
- 31:37Speaker 2: have to see what happens. So that was a that
- 31:40Speaker 2: was something like so unique that I don't even know
- 31:43Speaker 2: if we'll ever get again, because you like McGregor and
- 31:47Speaker 2: Mayweather are such unique personalities and at the peak of
- 31:51Speaker 2: their careers when it happened, like we probably won't get
- 31:54Speaker 2: something like that again.
- 31:55Speaker 1: Yeah. No, that was, like you said, I think it
- 31:57Speaker 1: kicked off for better for worse where we.
- 32:01Speaker 3: Are entertainment boxing world.
- 32:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:04Speaker 1: Well yeah, I mean I guess, you know, you could
- 32:06Speaker 1: look at it like more people are watching boxing.
- 32:09Speaker 2: Well it's not boxing, but yeah.
- 32:11Speaker 1: Like you know, I'm sure more people people probably watched.
- 32:14Speaker 1: I mean, I think Netflix is such an accessible platform too,
- 32:17Speaker 1: So it's like the fact that so many people watched
- 32:20Speaker 1: Canelo and Tank or not tank A Canelo and but
- 32:25Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know if they would have
- 32:27Speaker 1: had that many eyes on that fight had it been
- 32:29Speaker 1: just a pay per view fight.
- 32:30Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, And I think God, I don't want
- 32:33Speaker 2: to give the entertainment boxing credit for that, but maybe
- 32:37Speaker 2: you're right. I just that was for any kind of
- 32:41Speaker 2: like boxing purist, which I don't. I'm not a boxing purist,
- 32:44Speaker 2: but I do love boxing. That was a great fight,
- 32:47Speaker 2: and you need great fighters who have the like pedigree
- 32:52Speaker 2: and the history to be able to market a fight
- 32:55Speaker 2: like that. The entertainment boxing I get because it's entertainment,
- 32:59Speaker 2: and any kind of entertainment, like anything that people like watching,
- 33:02Speaker 2: whether it's for me or not, I understand. And if
- 33:05Speaker 2: there there's people who have huge audiences, they're gonna take
- 33:07Speaker 2: advantage of that. But yeah, it's it's Netflix did a
- 33:11Speaker 2: great job with that fight.
- 33:13Speaker 1: We were talking about your time on Undisputed. Do you
- 33:16Speaker 1: hear from like when when when what goes down and
- 33:18Speaker 1: you end up leaving the network? Do you hear from
- 33:20Speaker 1: like Colin and uh, you know, Skip or any of
- 33:22Speaker 1: these guys are Shannon, do you like do they reach
- 33:24Speaker 1: out just to like, you.
- 33:26Speaker 2: Know, yeah, Colin and I are. Colin and I are
- 33:27Speaker 2: great friends. So I'm friends with a lot of people
- 33:30Speaker 2: that I used to work with, not everyone obviously, but
- 33:34Speaker 2: you know, Colin is Colin is just the best. Colin
- 33:37Speaker 2: is the you know, he's.
- 33:38Speaker 1: Really built a volume into like a juggernaut man. Yeah,
- 33:41Speaker 1: pretty crazy.
- 33:42Speaker 2: Yeah, Colin's man. He's like one of the most professional,
- 33:47Speaker 2: just great, consistent people that I've ever worked with in
- 33:50Speaker 2: the in the business. Like he just he hears about
- 33:53Speaker 2: doing a good show and his family like that's it was.
- 33:56Speaker 1: He pretty like was it easy to kind of integrate
- 33:59Speaker 1: yourself into that role on his show?
- 34:02Speaker 3: It was because I was the fill in person for
- 34:03Speaker 3: that show.
- 34:04Speaker 2: So ye, so doing Undisputed, whenever his co host was out,
- 34:08Speaker 2: I would fill in with him. So we had already
- 34:10Speaker 2: done a considerable amount of shows together, both on radio
- 34:13Speaker 2: only AND's in.
- 34:15Speaker 3: Studio, so it was pretty easy.
- 34:17Speaker 2: Plus I had done radio for many years, so the
- 34:20Speaker 2: radio format was easy for me. And Colin is just
- 34:22Speaker 2: like he's just very easy to work with. He is
- 34:24Speaker 2: a huge prepper. He does two hours of prep before
- 34:27Speaker 2: every show.
- 34:28Speaker 1: Yeah, he's a beast.
- 34:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I can't do it.
- 34:31Speaker 2: Like I cannot talk through the entire show and then
- 34:34Speaker 2: do the show again. The first version is going to
- 34:36Speaker 2: be the better version. And he is almost like an
- 34:39Speaker 2: actor in that he can like do the line with
- 34:42Speaker 2: the same energy every single time. But he just really
- 34:45Speaker 2: wants a well planned out show, so there was never
- 34:48Speaker 2: really a lot of guessing, Like I never felt unprepared
- 34:52Speaker 2: for what I needed to do because he doesn't like
- 34:54Speaker 2: like him and I would do like some personality stuff
- 34:58Speaker 2: like oh, like would you do this weekend, but it
- 34:59Speaker 2: would be for like thirty.
- 35:00Speaker 1: Seconds, right.
- 35:01Speaker 2: He doesn't want, you know, five minutes of air where
- 35:04Speaker 2: we're you know, discussing our favorite sandwiches or something or
- 35:07Speaker 2: you know, our hot dogs a sandwich. He doesn't want
- 35:09Speaker 2: that because he doesn't think that that's what people are
- 35:11Speaker 2: coming to him for, and he wants the audience to
- 35:14Speaker 2: get what they are coming to him for, which is
- 35:16Speaker 2: sports talk in an entertaining way. So it was it
- 35:20Speaker 2: was very It was a hard challenge to do the
- 35:23Speaker 2: show because the show is three hours and it is
- 35:25Speaker 2: a big platform, but working with him is very easy
- 35:28Speaker 2: because he's just always very prepared.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Want to give a shout out to our family at
- 35:31Speaker 1: Broken Man, Broken Listen. I love these vapes, Broken Cannabis,
- 35:37Speaker 1: make sure you go shoot them a follow. I was
- 35:40Speaker 1: in Austin, Texas, and you know I was off the

- 35:46Speaker 1: was supposed to be off the Broken in Texas. But look,
- 35:48Speaker 1: you got to go follow him right now. Go to
- 35:49Speaker 1: Brokencannabis dot com. Shoot them a follow on social media.

- 36:01Speaker 1: And you know we only rock with the premium the best,
- 36:05Speaker 1: and when I tell you, Broken is the best. They've
- 36:08Speaker 1: been doing this for so long, and U man, the rosin,
- 36:12Speaker 1: the solventless rosin, Man, it hits all right. So they
- 36:14Speaker 1: got the disposables. They got the carts. Let's just open
- 36:19Speaker 1: one of these up just so you can see. These

- 36:28Speaker 1: then obviously you got your disposable right here. Both of
- 36:31Speaker 1: these incredible. Follow them and check them out. Rocancannabis dot com.
- 36:35Speaker 1: Talk to me about what's it like pivoting and being
- 36:37Speaker 1: able to kind of like because we always hear I mean,
- 36:41Speaker 1: I remember when Jamil Hill had gone through what she
- 36:44Speaker 1: went through because she brought politics up. There was all
- 36:47Speaker 1: this outrage. You know, people ain't going going to you
- 36:49Speaker 1: for that. You've been pretty outspoken in terms of like, uh,
- 36:53Speaker 1: just what's going on in the world, which I think
- 36:55Speaker 1: I don't even I wouldn't call it outspoken. I call
- 36:58Speaker 1: it being a human. But for you, like because I
- 37:02Speaker 1: feel like you were you were, you would speak up
- 37:04Speaker 1: about certain shit, like even like a kind of like
- 37:07Speaker 1: even on the air, but like in like a real
- 37:09Speaker 1: like you know, like a like a like a wink
- 37:12Speaker 1: kind of way for you, Like how dope is it
- 37:17Speaker 1: now where you're able to do you have your own
- 37:19Speaker 1: platform and you're just unapologetically yourself. You could talk about policy,
- 37:24Speaker 1: can talk about all this shit like it's got to
- 37:26Speaker 1: be dope.
- 37:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I think I've I mean, I've always been someone
- 37:31Speaker 2: who knows what's going on in the world, and I
- 37:36Speaker 2: have a I'm not a practicing journalist, right, but I
- 37:41Speaker 2: have a you know, the proper traditional training as a journalist.
- 37:46Speaker 2: I still think it's important to know the story before
- 37:50Speaker 2: talking about it, so you know, caring about what's going
- 37:54Speaker 2: on in the world, or having an opinion about politics
- 37:57Speaker 2: or social issues or whatever everyone's talking about has always been,
- 38:03Speaker 2: you know, part of who I am. But to your point,
- 38:05Speaker 2: not having a platform, and I don't like to force
- 38:07Speaker 2: things into platforms that they don't belong, it's been it's
- 38:12Speaker 2: been great for me to be able to have too
- 38:14Speaker 2: personal to talk about these things. I mean, I think
- 38:17Speaker 2: some people are getting to know me a little bit better.
- 38:21Speaker 2: The people that have always known me or have followed
- 38:23Speaker 2: me for a really long time are not surprised. But yeah,
- 38:27Speaker 2: I'm like a little more outside now.
- 38:28Speaker 1: And yeah, when you told you were telling the story
- 38:30Speaker 1: about like I think it was like an ex boyfriend
- 38:33Speaker 1: of yours that you were like taken care of.
- 38:37Speaker 2: Well, you know, like they've all been there.
- 38:39Speaker 1: That's relatable. I feel like that was like super relatable.
- 38:42Speaker 1: That's the kind of shit where like you're gonna have
- 38:43Speaker 1: new fans and be like, oh, yeah, she's telling like
- 38:45Speaker 1: this a girl from the sports show.
- 38:47Speaker 2: Like yeah, yeah, So I mean that that's the opportunity
- 38:50Speaker 2: to tell to tell those stories.
- 38:52Speaker 3: And look, I'm thirty eight years old, I've I've lived
- 38:55Speaker 3: some life.
- 38:56Speaker 2: And.
- 38:58Speaker 1: But I think like you said, I think it's like
- 39:00Speaker 1: people have become invested in like these personalities even though
- 39:05Speaker 1: they know them from Like I mean, Shannon Sharps are
- 39:07Speaker 1: perfect because people are so invested in what was going
- 39:09Speaker 1: on with his personal life. Yeah, even prior to the
- 39:12Speaker 1: lawsuit when he had to check on the FaceTime you
- 39:14Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, Like, which was insane, But I
- 39:17Speaker 1: feel like, you know, there are there's Twitter pages that
- 39:20Speaker 1: are literally just about like what's going on with like
- 39:24Speaker 1: sports announcers lives.
- 39:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it's we've become like, I don't know,
- 39:29Speaker 2: it's like this cottage. We're almost like WWE characters or something. Yes,
- 39:36Speaker 2: we're not just And that's why I really harp on
- 39:39Speaker 2: like I'm not a journalist, because I think journalists are
- 39:42Speaker 2: like doctors or teachers or lawyers in that they have
- 39:47Speaker 2: a certain obligation to society to be as unbiased as
- 39:52Speaker 2: humanly possible and like tell the story. And in today's
- 39:56Speaker 2: world that is even more necessary than probably ever because
- 40:01Speaker 2: the story. We are in a post truth society. Sure,
- 40:04Speaker 2: So I came up in the business with the intention
- 40:07Speaker 2: of being a personality. I always wanted to be a
- 40:10Speaker 2: person someone who reacts to the story, not tells the
- 40:13Speaker 2: story makes sense.
- 40:15Speaker 3: But what's happening now is we are also the story.
- 40:19Speaker 2: Yeah, which is I guess an unavoidable developments of being
- 40:24Speaker 2: a personality.
- 40:25Speaker 3: But yeah, it's it's just a new world.
- 40:28Speaker 1: Do you get to the point where you become friends
- 40:30Speaker 1: with any of these athletes and you're very like you
- 40:32Speaker 1: kind of hold back a little if they have like
- 40:33Speaker 1: a bad game or anything like that.
- 40:34Speaker 3: Of course.
- 40:37Speaker 2: Everybody does. Anybody who says they're not doing that is
- 40:40Speaker 2: a lying, liars, lying, lying, not faking it.
- 40:44Speaker 3: Just this the hard L word.
- 40:46Speaker 1: Like there's guys who, like you were like, yeah, that's
- 40:48Speaker 1: the helmie. I gotta care. I'm gonna take it a
- 40:49Speaker 1: little easier.
- 40:50Speaker 2: But I will never I also don't go hard in
- 40:55Speaker 2: a disrespectful way on people either, right, Like I don't.
- 40:57Speaker 1: Never done that where you're like shitting I mean, I mean,
- 40:59Speaker 1: like you know, like I mean.
- 41:01Speaker 2: If somebody's if somebody is. I'm not gonna say I've
- 41:06Speaker 2: never gone hard on anybody, but for me, I will.
- 41:10Speaker 2: I always want to be able to face anybody that
- 41:13Speaker 2: I speak.
- 41:14Speaker 1: About, so like you're gonna run into them eventually, you
- 41:17Speaker 1: don't want them to look at you like, yo, you
- 41:18Speaker 1: weren't fair right, right?
- 41:20Speaker 2: Like, if I run into our crackhead secretary of Health,
- 41:23Speaker 2: I'm gonna tell him he's an unqualified crackhead, right who
- 41:26Speaker 2: should not be running the Department of Health.
- 41:28Speaker 1: Hey, Tyland, old man.
- 41:31Speaker 3: Fucking insane. I'm sorry.
- 41:34Speaker 2: You cannot be a retired crackhead and run this Department
- 41:36Speaker 2: of Health. It's not I don't care what the fuck
- 41:41Speaker 2: it is. He's unqualified, and I would happily tell him
- 41:45Speaker 2: whose face is unqualified. There's plenty of things I'm unqualified for,
- 41:48Speaker 2: by the way, jobs I would not take because I'm
- 41:51Speaker 2: not qualified for them. But you will not catch me
- 41:53Speaker 2: in a job i'm unqualified for. So yeah, if I
- 41:56Speaker 2: say something about someone, I want to be able to
- 41:57Speaker 2: say it to their face. It's just a you know,
- 42:00Speaker 2: I wouldn't describe myself as the you know, perfectly principled person,
- 42:04Speaker 2: but I I want to always be able to stand
- 42:07Speaker 2: on that. So if I'm like not crushing someone the
- 42:12Speaker 2: way that maybe I would if I didn't know them.
- 42:15Speaker 2: Right In uncontrast, if I don't know someone, I'm not
- 42:18Speaker 2: gonna be unfair to them either.
- 42:20Speaker 1: What would who who's like a friend of yours that
- 42:22Speaker 1: you just like.
- 42:24Speaker 2: You, I cannot reveal my sources. Okay, obviously I'm never
- 42:28Speaker 2: gonna crush my nephew right like, and I'm telling you now,
- 42:32Speaker 2: I'm gonna be nice to the Jets because my nephew
- 42:34Speaker 2: plays for them.
- 42:35Speaker 3: Like makes see that makes sense, and like be mad
- 42:38Speaker 3: at me.
- 42:38Speaker 2: I don't know, I don't think. I don't care. Like
- 42:42Speaker 2: I'm always going to be much more pleasant to the Jets.
- 42:46Speaker 1: See that makes sense.
- 42:47Speaker 2: Then I have been in the years past because my
- 42:49Speaker 2: nephew plays for them, and that's it. And if you know,
- 42:51Speaker 2: like I can kiss my ass, that's obviously.
- 42:54Speaker 1: Would it be hard for you to like sit in
- 42:56Speaker 1: and hear like like like the opposite of what you're
- 42:59Speaker 1: saying essentially, like somebody like Skip just being so harsh
- 43:02Speaker 1: on like Lebron James if it was my family, No,
- 43:07Speaker 1: I'm saying for you like when you were when you
- 43:08Speaker 1: were doing Undisputed? Would it like it is like it
- 43:11Speaker 1: felt like a lot of times.
- 43:12Speaker 2: Oh yeah, There's been plenty of times where I where
- 43:15Speaker 2: my co hosts have said things I've adamantly disagreed with
- 43:20Speaker 2: and for whatever reason, you know, I think people think
- 43:25Speaker 2: that you just have this endless track like where we're
- 43:28Speaker 2: doing a show like this where I can be like whoa,
- 43:31Speaker 2: like we don't have a time limit. Let's get into Yeah,
- 43:34Speaker 2: I can't. I can't just like insert myself in every
- 43:37Speaker 2: single thing, even if it's you know, a format like
- 43:39Speaker 2: speak where it is all of our shows. Yeah, Like
- 43:43Speaker 2: it just doesn't necessarily always work like that. But yeah,
- 43:46Speaker 2: there's been plenty of times, and there's been times where
- 43:48Speaker 2: you know, I've my coast have said something I've disagreed
- 43:51Speaker 2: with and I have confronted them immediately about it. But yeah,
- 43:54Speaker 2: there's there's times where it's it's frustrating, it's it's also
- 43:57Speaker 2: like to me, like I said, I just come at
- 44:00Speaker 2: the I come to it from a different perspective. And
- 44:03Speaker 2: maybe it's because of my brother, right, but I don't.
- 44:07Speaker 2: I don't want to be the story. I don't want
- 44:09Speaker 2: it to be. Oh, you know, Joy Taylor has this
- 44:12Speaker 2: beef with this athlete, Like I'm a nerd. I talk
- 44:16Speaker 2: about what other people do for a living, right, which
- 44:18Speaker 2: is that perspective is never gonna leave me. I am
- 44:22Speaker 2: not saving souls, I am not saving lives. I'm not
- 44:26Speaker 2: bringing anybody to heaven. And I'm not sending anybody to help,
- 44:29Speaker 2: So what are we doing? Like, we're not digging ditches here,
- 44:33Speaker 2: We're talking about sports. It's really not that serious. Like
- 44:35Speaker 2: we have to touch grass sometimes, and I think sometimes
- 44:39Speaker 2: when the camera's on, people start to you know, the
- 44:43Speaker 2: ego j just to start flowing, start feeling a little saucy,
- 44:47Speaker 2: and you know, you forget that we're talking about the
- 44:49Speaker 2: one percent of the one percent of humans in the world.
- 44:53Speaker 2: I was watching the Lions Ravens game, like, these motherfuckers
- 45:00Speaker 2: are so good at football, like dose catches. I'm like,
- 45:03Speaker 2: that's unbelievable. Like there's just sometimes when they'll do shit,
- 45:06Speaker 2: I'm like, that's fucking unbelievable. And there was a good Yeah,
- 45:10Speaker 2: they're gonna cook the Ravens and they're like, they're unbelievable.
- 45:15Speaker 2: These athletes, the ship that they're able to play fantasy football. Yeah, hey,
- 45:18Speaker 2: I fucking hate Like I just wonder I love fantasy football.
- 45:22Speaker 2: I also hate it. It pisses me like.
- 45:25Speaker 1: More than one league.
- 45:26Speaker 2: I have three leagues.
- 45:26Speaker 1: Oh, you're fucking committed, you're in it.
- 45:28Speaker 2: I really try to only do two, but I got
- 45:31Speaker 2: sucked into another one this year, which I'm doing very
- 45:33Speaker 2: terrible in but yeah, yeah, I mean fantasy football is
- 45:37Speaker 2: the It ruins my life every single year, I yo,
- 45:40Speaker 2: every So it's such a fucking mood crusher.
- 45:43Speaker 1: We're part of one like super serious league where everyone
- 45:46Speaker 1: and it's just psychopaths, and usually I can only do
- 45:50Speaker 1: that league because it's so much.
- 45:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I have one very serious league, and I have
- 45:55Speaker 2: one that I've been in for like thirteen years.
- 45:57Speaker 1: I'm the commissioner, and like we'll have like like we
- 46:01Speaker 1: found out we let our homies wife in one year
- 46:04Speaker 1: and we found out they were colluding on the side
- 46:06Speaker 1: with trades. He like admitted to me, like, oh, I
- 46:08Speaker 1: just parked a player on her bench. I would I
- 46:11Speaker 1: called a zoom press conference with all of the members
- 46:14Speaker 1: of the league, had pretty much put his ass on
- 46:16Speaker 1: trial and kicked aim out on Zoom.
- 46:18Speaker 3: Why would why would he ever admit to that?
- 46:21Speaker 2: Yo? I was talking about the money league.
- 46:22Speaker 1: Yes, But I called him and I said, Yo, what's
- 46:24Speaker 1: up with this? You just traded those two players last
- 46:26Speaker 1: week to your wife and she's trading them back to you.
- 46:28Speaker 1: What the fuck is going on?
- 46:30Speaker 2: So?
- 46:30Speaker 1: Well, you know, I just wanted to park on our bench,
- 46:31Speaker 1: I said, oh buddy, I'm the commissioner. You kid, you
- 46:35Speaker 1: just admitted the collusion.
- 46:36Speaker 2: You're gone.
- 46:36Speaker 1: I hit the group chat. I said, today's zoom noon.
- 46:39Speaker 1: Anybody who could make it? We have to vote on brand.
- 46:43Speaker 2: Are that's completely very out of go. That's crazy. Our
- 46:47Speaker 2: group chat is absolutely insane. I actually have a trade
- 46:49Speaker 2: that I'm looking at right now. Let me tell you,
- 46:51Speaker 2: let me see what you think about.
- 46:52Speaker 1: And it's a two quarterback league we're in.
- 46:53Speaker 2: So it's yeah, you guys are nuts. I don't want
- 46:55Speaker 2: ever want to participate in that. I need I need
- 46:58Speaker 2: running backs. Hey, all this up to it takes a lead,
- 47:01Speaker 2: forget it.
- 47:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean the running backs are they're scarce.
- 47:04Speaker 3: Rang Now, I usually draft running backs first, because.
- 47:06Speaker 1: Would you take like Jamar Chaser somebody.
- 47:09Speaker 2: Well, I had the number one pick in I don't
- 47:11Speaker 2: I think I had to take like, well, this league,
- 47:13Speaker 2: this league, the expensive league. I picked like eighth, just
- 47:16Speaker 2: the fucking worst.
- 47:18Speaker 1: What Yeah, this year I was all about being late.
- 47:21Speaker 2: But yeah I got Puka, who's doing well. Yeah, good pick.
- 47:25Speaker 1: Yeahcase, I mean I got Jamar Chase. So I don't
- 47:28Speaker 1: know what the fuck Browning is gonna do besides throwing interceptions.
- 47:30Speaker 1: But you know the Bengals are that offensive line is atrocious.
- 47:35Speaker 1: They should not have paid t Higgins. They should have
- 47:37Speaker 1: paid offensive lineman.
- 47:39Speaker 2: But it's neither hear you gotta start in the trenches.
- 47:41Speaker 1: Yeah, that is true. Your brother one of the best,
- 47:44Speaker 1: you know, linemen of all time. Hall of Famer. Hey,
- 47:48Speaker 1: we gotta wrap up this interview. Another one presented by

- 48:17Speaker 1: bootleg cav dot com. You know, we had to celebrate
- 48:19Speaker 1: the two year anniversary of the most viral interview of
- 48:21Speaker 1: all time. Throw the shirt up so you could see it.
- 48:23Speaker 1: I turned it down. Shout out to that boy Big Boogie,
- 48:26Speaker 1: a big college in Jacksonville, and we just threw these
- 48:28Speaker 1: on sale half off for the five hundred episode t
- 48:33Speaker 1: Bootleg cav dot Com. Go get you a shirt. Let's
- 48:35Speaker 1: get back to the interview for you like that. I
- 48:38Speaker 1: just saw that. I did not know this was a
- 48:40Speaker 1: thing until like maybe a week ago. But I guess
- 48:43Speaker 1: your old co host started a Podcastle's I kind of
- 48:46Speaker 1: speak ish acho.
- 48:48Speaker 3: And oh U speakeasy?
- 48:50Speaker 1: Yeah? Do they like try to get you to come
- 48:53Speaker 1: with them to start that?
- 48:54Speaker 2: No, I was not included in the speakeasy operation.
- 48:59Speaker 1: I just all I was like, oh, this is interesting.
- 49:02Speaker 3: But I'm glad for them, you know, they they wanted to.
- 49:06Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 49:06Speaker 2: I didn't. I don't. I haven't talked to you to.
- 49:08Speaker 3: Either one of them about it yet, but but yeah,
- 49:10Speaker 3: I mean, I guess.
- 49:11Speaker 1: That's I heard.
- 49:13Speaker 2: I mean, it's it is like I still have because
- 49:17Speaker 2: I've been doing this for so long and because I
- 49:19Speaker 2: haven't started my next thing yet, I have this like
- 49:22Speaker 2: anxiety every day I wake up with like, oh my god,
- 49:24Speaker 2: where do I put Where do I put my sports takes?
- 49:27Speaker 2: I have thoughts and I don't have anywhere to put them,
- 49:31Speaker 2: so I'm still like practicing.
- 49:32Speaker 1: You gotta put them in your fantasy football group chat.
- 49:35Speaker 2: Yeah, that's actually a good spot for it. They're gonna
- 49:36Speaker 2: get really tired of me pretty soon. But but yeah,
- 49:40Speaker 2: so it's you know, they're everyone els to start their
- 49:42Speaker 2: own thing, like that's what we've been talking about.
- 49:44Speaker 1: What are your thoughts on what happened with Jimmy Kimmel
- 49:49Speaker 1: because obviously they say he's supposed to be back on tonight,
- 49:51Speaker 1: but I don't know what's going on with Yeah.
- 49:53Speaker 2: I mean, I don't like to speak thoroughly on things
- 49:56Speaker 2: that I have not like head.
- 50:00Speaker 3: First get a divage.
- 50:03Speaker 2: But it seems as if this is all way above
- 50:06Speaker 2: our our pay grade. It is not as simple as
- 50:10Speaker 2: them reacting to what.
- 50:11Speaker 3: He said about Charlie Kirk. This hays to do with.
- 50:15Speaker 2: Some FCC merger stuff. And it's not like a conspiracy thing,
- 50:18Speaker 2: like it's one hundred percent because was talking that ship. Yeah.
- 50:25Speaker 2: I am not a conspiracy theory person. I think birds
- 50:28Speaker 2: are spies for the government, but other than that, I
- 50:31Speaker 2: don't subscribe to conspiracy theories. I don't have time for them.
- 50:36Speaker 2: This is not a conspiracy theory like, that is what
- 50:39Speaker 2: all of this ship is about, and it's being packaged
- 50:44Speaker 2: as a slap, you know, a slap on the wrists
- 50:47Speaker 2: for saying something about a podcaster. That's not They.
- 50:51Speaker 3: Don't care about Charlie Kirk.
- 50:53Speaker 2: They do not.
- 50:54Speaker 1: That's not what this is.
- 50:56Speaker 2: So I don't want to speak like I don't want
- 50:58Speaker 2: to speak with too much attention and elaborate on it
- 51:01Speaker 2: too much because I don't I cannot properly explain it.
- 51:04Speaker 2: But that is what's happening.
- 51:06Speaker 1: Let's have a fantasy draft where you get to draft
- 51:10Speaker 1: a panel TV show. You're the executive producer. It could
- 51:14Speaker 1: be former athletes, it could be pundits, it could be
- 51:17Speaker 1: who are you give me a four person four person show?
- 51:21Speaker 1: If you if it were if it were up to you, Salaries,
- 51:24Speaker 1: contractual issues, none of that is in doing.
- 51:27Speaker 2: None of that matters. Okay, we have an unlimited budget, yes, okay,
- 51:30Speaker 2: so hmmm uh. And I'm not involved.
- 51:37Speaker 1: You could be you could you could be the you
- 51:38Speaker 1: could be on the show, you could be a moderator,
- 51:40Speaker 1: you could be the executive.
- 51:40Speaker 2: I think it's easier if I'm not involved.
- 51:41Speaker 1: Okay, you're not involved.
- 51:42Speaker 2: I'm just the executive producer.
- 51:45Speaker 3: Or maybe we could just do like Mount Rushmore.
- 51:47Speaker 1: Of Well, look that'd be that'd be a I mean, yeah,
- 51:50Speaker 1: I mean obviously we I mean.
- 51:52Speaker 3: So I gotta put I gotta put skip.
- 51:55Speaker 2: Colin and steven a. But if I'm like actually producing
- 51:59Speaker 2: this show.
- 51:59Speaker 1: Produce the show, yeah, goes three together.
- 52:01Speaker 2: I'm changing a question about Yeah, like that's not that's
- 52:04Speaker 2: not a good show that the three of them together.
- 52:06Speaker 1: And break the TV.
- 52:08Speaker 2: Well, it's just the thing. It doesn't work, Like they
- 52:09Speaker 2: don't do the same things like Colin did, did that show,
- 52:13Speaker 2: did panel shows before, but like that is Colin is
- 52:15Speaker 2: the best at like talking into a camera and like
- 52:18Speaker 2: looking into your soul and talking. I don't know, I
- 52:23Speaker 2: have to give this some thought. This is a I
- 52:25Speaker 2: don't want to speak out of turn.
- 52:27Speaker 1: Is there an athlete that you feel like isn't on
- 52:29Speaker 1: TV or hasn't given it a run that you're like, well, I.
- 52:31Speaker 2: Think I think when Micah is done with playing Micah
- 52:36Speaker 2: is going to be is going to be a great personality.
- 52:39Speaker 2: And he's he's smart to have started that now because
- 52:42Speaker 2: he's already a big personality. All the shit that happened
- 52:45Speaker 2: with the Cowboys, like he's going to have an incredible career,
- 52:49Speaker 2: and he is a he is a personality, so like
- 52:51Speaker 2: he's on sort of that like Gronk trajectory for sure,
- 52:55Speaker 2: where he's going to be a personality after sports, and
- 52:57Speaker 2: Gronk has done an amazing job. So I think Micah
- 53:01Speaker 2: for sure. Draymond obviously is you know, he's been in
- 53:04Speaker 2: that space, but he's when he's done playing, like that's
- 53:07Speaker 2: going to be a very easy transition to that doing
- 53:11Speaker 2: that full time and he'll do a great job with that.
- 53:15Speaker 2: I'm trying to think of somebody who like doesn't necessarily
- 53:18Speaker 2: have already like stepped into.
- 53:20Speaker 1: It, that just got personality.
- 53:24Speaker 2: I think Page is going to be amazing when Page
- 53:26Speaker 2: is a great Personality's very funny Angel obviously, but Angel
- 53:31Speaker 2: has her show. Somebody who doesn't, uh you know what
- 53:41Speaker 2: I think aman Ra Saint Brown.
- 53:44Speaker 1: I saw I saw him get caught on the hot
- 53:46Speaker 1: mic class.
- 53:46Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, So I think he has he does
- 53:50Speaker 2: he doesn't have a show? Does he?
- 53:53Speaker 1: If he does, I'm not aware of.
- 53:54Speaker 2: Uh yeah, I think he and he's very smart. I
- 53:58Speaker 2: think he'll do a great job if he wants to
- 53:59Speaker 2: get into the media space. Also, I'm probably forgetting a
- 54:02Speaker 2: bunch of guys. But but yeah, there's what I love
- 54:07Speaker 2: now about like the space that all athletes and like
- 54:12Speaker 2: entertainment figures have is that they can create their own
- 54:15Speaker 2: stuff while they're still doing for sure their career and
- 54:19Speaker 2: like allow people into their personalities. I've always been an
- 54:22Speaker 2: advocate of players and just people, young people diversifying their
- 54:29Speaker 2: you know, business portfolios and being able to be active
- 54:32Speaker 2: in different spaces, like that old school mentality of you know,
- 54:36Speaker 2: you can't do anything else other than this, like if
- 54:38Speaker 2: you're not locked in one hundred percent, like that's not
- 54:41Speaker 2: that's stupid obviously, And I think, you know, Magic Johnson
- 54:45Speaker 2: sort of started that and Lebron does.
- 54:47Speaker 1: He had the late night talk show.
- 54:49Speaker 2: Yeah, and like Magic is just like he's the the
- 54:52Speaker 2: pinnacle of an of athlete turned of successneur, Yeah, and
- 54:59Speaker 2: just paved the way or that, and like Lebron has
- 55:01Speaker 2: taken it to a whole other level. And you know,
- 55:04Speaker 2: Lebron I think actually has done such an amazing job
- 55:07Speaker 2: with it because nobody can question his commitment level. He
- 55:11Speaker 2: takes impeccable care of his body and for him to
- 55:14Speaker 2: be able to have all of these business ventures and
- 55:17Speaker 2: shows and movies and everything that he does and still
- 55:20Speaker 2: be able to play at the level he's playing. It's
- 55:21Speaker 2: like that's really shut everybody up, and now it's spilled
- 55:26Speaker 2: over to college because nil so, I mean, I think
- 55:29Speaker 2: it's great, Like I'm here for it. I think the
- 55:31Speaker 2: more ways that people can make money, the more ways
- 55:33Speaker 2: that people can express themselves, the more ways people can
- 55:35Speaker 2: have their own voice, right, is better for everyone. I
- 55:39Speaker 2: know A lot of like the traditional people in the
- 55:41Speaker 2: business don't like it because you know, it may take
- 55:43Speaker 2: away some jobs, but like you got to get creative and.
- 55:47Speaker 3: The change.
- 55:48Speaker 1: Yeah, Like I hear like some journalists and on the
- 55:50Speaker 1: hip hop side will talk shit about like you know,
- 55:53Speaker 1: Fagio and Jadakus or whoever because they feel like they're
- 55:58Speaker 1: not journalists. I've worked all, you know, and I'm like, yeah,
- 56:01Speaker 1: that's like you should be more entertaining. The world has changed,
- 56:03Speaker 1: like you know what I'm saying, Like, I mean, rather
- 56:06Speaker 1: watch and Jadakiss talk about fad Joe's diet pepsi addiction
- 56:10Speaker 1: while Jada Kiss laughs uncontrollably on the couch. Then you know,
- 56:14Speaker 1: hear about the fifty eight producers on one song.
- 56:18Speaker 2: I mean, why can't there be both? I just don't know.
- 56:21Speaker 1: I'm not.
- 56:22Speaker 2: I'm just not a born hater. Like it's just not
- 56:25Speaker 2: in my blood, it's not in my DNA. So I
- 56:29Speaker 2: don't default to somebody else's doing something and they're taking
- 56:32Speaker 2: away from me. That is just not how my brain works.
- 56:36Speaker 2: If someone else has some success, I don't know what
- 56:38Speaker 2: that has to do with me. It's nothing to do
- 56:41Speaker 2: with me. I'm happy for them, love that.
- 56:44Speaker 3: What the fuck does that have to do with me?
- 56:46Speaker 1: Nothing?
- 56:46Speaker 2: So why can't there be journalists who do the journalist
- 56:50Speaker 2: thing for people who want to consume that? And why
- 56:52Speaker 2: can't we also have that show there's no correlation to
- 56:55Speaker 2: you being minimized when someone else steps into the space.
- 56:59Speaker 2: I also I had a diet coke addiction.
- 57:01Speaker 1: Oh I love diet coke. God.
- 57:03Speaker 2: So I I had like three a day for a while.
- 57:07Speaker 1: And I just went to lunch and I took I
- 57:09Speaker 1: took two down.
- 57:10Speaker 2: Well I don't now now I really.
- 57:13Speaker 1: The diet coke.
- 57:14Speaker 2: I just stopped.
- 57:14Speaker 1: I just called so good. I don't want regular.
- 57:18Speaker 2: Can like the can can. Yeah, well so now if
- 57:21Speaker 2: I really want soda, it's it's like those little mini
- 57:24Speaker 2: regular coke cans.
- 57:25Speaker 1: So like a mini not a diet coke.
- 57:28Speaker 2: No, now I do like the regular coke, but this
- 57:30Speaker 2: was years ago. Like I don't really drink soda. I
- 57:31Speaker 2: will crush the bubble waters though, Like I'll take down
- 57:34Speaker 2: like four of those a day.
- 57:35Speaker 1: I love so good. I want all that cancer.
- 57:38Speaker 2: Yeah, that's why I stop drinking it. Because I was like,
- 57:40Speaker 2: I read an article. It was like it turns into
- 57:42Speaker 2: froml to hide in your brain. I was like, that
- 57:43Speaker 2: doesn't sound good, and I'm definitely I'm definitely drinking way
- 57:46Speaker 2: too many of these.
- 57:47Speaker 1: So let's let's talk. I saw this fat fuck whitlock
- 57:52Speaker 1: called you the peanut butter Tupac.
- 57:54Speaker 2: Did you see this, oh, king of the worm boys, this.
- 58:00Speaker 1: Slob of a human being, the king of the BB dubs.
- 58:04Speaker 2: Sir snacks a lot, Sir snacks.
- 58:05Speaker 1: Oh that's a good one. Yeah. Yeah, fucking cholesterol, fucking
- 58:08Speaker 1: Gotti right there. Uh but yeah, uh he's.
- 58:12Speaker 2: Such a pig.
- 58:13Speaker 1: Peanut butter Tupac, that's what he called you.
- 58:15Speaker 2: It's actually not bad, not terrible. It's not it's not bad.
- 58:18Speaker 1: You could I mean, honestly, not a bad Tupac's great, obviously.
- 58:21Speaker 2: I just wonder if he can come up with anything
- 58:23Speaker 2: that doesn't involve food, I challenge him.
- 58:26Speaker 1: Yeah. Actually was my bachelor party weekend. I was in
- 58:29Speaker 1: Vegas and this was around the time of him shitting
- 58:32Speaker 1: on Kaepernick and when he like started to go like
- 58:35Speaker 1: I don't know whatever the fuck maggot out or whatever,
- 58:38Speaker 1: and he was playing craps and I'm fucked up. Listen,
- 58:43Speaker 1: I'm walking past the craps table me and my boys,
- 58:46Speaker 1: and I fucking I stopped and I is that that
- 58:49Speaker 1: fat motherfucker JESSEU Wilock And he turns around and I
- 58:55Speaker 1: just get on my knee, like we stay with Colin Kaepernick,
- 59:00Speaker 1: you fat fuck And he turned around and he tried
- 59:03Speaker 1: to Like I felt bad because he actually tried to
- 59:05Speaker 1: talk to me and like introduced himself to me, and
- 59:06Speaker 1: I was like, fuck you.
- 59:08Speaker 2: I felt bad.
- 59:09Speaker 1: No, No, I felt bad because like he turned around
- 59:11Speaker 1: and was like, hey, man, you want it's good to
- 59:13Speaker 1: meet you. You want to talk? Well, what's your issue
- 59:14Speaker 1: with me? And I was like, yo, fuck you, and
- 59:16Speaker 1: I would just it was so funny.
- 59:18Speaker 2: That's all he deserves something.
- 59:19Speaker 1: All my boys were yeah, yeah, we always have that story.
- 59:22Speaker 1: And my Homey's got it on tape. Actually he's got
- 59:24Speaker 1: on like of me, like yelling at Jason Whitlock. I
- 59:27Speaker 1: think it was at the MGM.
- 59:29Speaker 2: Grand I did not see him say this because I
- 59:34Speaker 2: have never consumed any of his content. I know people
- 59:38Speaker 2: don't believe that because I obviously have heard this because
- 59:40Speaker 2: his legion of inceels he has like fans. I guess
- 59:44Speaker 2: he does, because they're in my comments. All these non
- 59:47Speaker 2: pussy getting losers, yeah, are instead of out talking to
- 59:51Speaker 2: human beings, are in the comments talking about snack related insults.
- 59:57Speaker 2: So I haven't seen it, but I've heard obviously of
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: peanut Butter Tupac, and I think it's actually it might
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: be his best work ever, considering that his career wise.
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: Career wise, Yeah, he's like if.
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: Uncle Ruckus and Jaba the Hut had an illegitimate child.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: That's fucking heat right there.
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: You only ate like cheese puffs and asparagus every day.
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: I gotta play you something. I have an Uncle Ruckus
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: radio drop. My friend his sister wrote on that.
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: What what that show would do if it was on? Now?
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: Heat right?
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: Heat, bring that back?
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: It's so first of all, it's it would I don't
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: even know what they would do because it is so crazy,
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: but is.
- 1:00:41Speaker 4: This my uncle damn America that he had Uncle Ruckush
- 1:00:45Speaker 4: no relation And even though he dresses and sound like
- 1:00:47Speaker 4: a dokey, you are listening to the greatest white man.
- 1:00:51Speaker 4: Oh lord, a smell like financial polish and Lemon's ass.
- 1:00:55Speaker 4: God bless his white skin. It'sleg caw.
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: Yo. When I got that ship, I was like, our kid,
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: never play it on the radio though, because it's like,
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: you know, you got.
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: To kind of understand the cor Yeah.
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: So it's like if you're just like some mom in
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: the car with their kids, they're like, what the fuck
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: is going.
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: On his skinnest nuts.
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: We got to bring back the Boondocks.
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: God, we need that show. We need it.
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: I just was watching with my son, who's eleven, so
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: probably not the most appropriate watch, but we always tell
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: him it looks like, right, he looks like Riley, So
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: we're always telling him like, I'm like, you look like
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: this kid on this boon dock. So I threw on
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: an episode while eating dinner, and it was the Usher
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: episode where the Usher takes Tom's wife, you know what
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: I'm saying. And then and then a pit named slick
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: Back has to like talk him into slapping his girl
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: and he's like, no, no, now, slap the bitch, Tom.
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: That show's insane.
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: He said, I know where oh my bitch is at? Tom?
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: What is it? What does he say?
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: All I'm saying is Ronald Reagan is the Devil?
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: Yeah, such a good show, all right, So obviously two
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: personal comes out. Is it Thursdays?
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: Yeah, Thursdays to personal too? Personal show on social media,
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: subscribe on YouTube or wherever you listen to podcasts.
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: And you have you've already started to work out the
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: next thing.
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, I'll have an announcement soon. But I'm not,
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: uh not out of the sports space. I'm just taking
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: my time and honestly, guys, I you know.
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: Take some time to yourself.
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: I've been doing this a long time.
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: I'm like, it's nice to kind of like watch games
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: and not like immediately start working on for the next day.
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: And it's been nice to be able to travel a
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: little bit, like spend real time with my family. My
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: whole family's on the East Coast, so it's been cool
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: to like chill with my mom, right, you know, shit
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: like that, just shit, I haven't been able to do.
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: It's a full time, five day a week.
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I've been doing.
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: Five days a week for nine years.
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: I mean before that, you're doing more.
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: And yeah, before that, I was doing five days a week,
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: so and not like the digital five days a week
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: like in person in study.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I do think people understand when you do a
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: radio show at a radio station, you're in that motherfucker.
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: Like it ain't like you could just pre record it
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: and like, but I mean, I mean I do that
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: every day now, but.
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: Well, but that's a different that's a different thing. Yeah,
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: like when you're doing a live show and you're in studio,
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: you're in fucking studio.
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: But especially like sports talk.
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: Yeah, a blessing, it was. It was an incredible chapter
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: in my career. Most of my thirties I spent in
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: that building. So it's just you know, it's just a
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: transitional time for me, and I'm I'm grateful for it. Actually,
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: Like I'm learning a lot of things about myself, a
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: lot of things in business. I've been able to like
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: take a deep breath, you know.
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: Yeah, so you were you at the the eyl the
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: Investvest Yeah that looks super dope.
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: They do such a great job with that. You know
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: what I love about Investvest I feel very passionate about this,
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: and I've talked about this a lot on shows, especially
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: when I came to Nil, which was the panel that
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: I did at invest Fest this year. But you know,
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: I don't know how you grew up, but like I,
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: despite whatever human things, did not grow up with money,
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: and I have no financial education. And if you didn't
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: grow up with money, or you didn't grow up with
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: financial education, even if you grew up in a steady home,
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: if you don't understand money, if you don't understand credit,
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: if you don't understand real estate, if you don't understand
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: investments the stock market, you have to teach yourself all
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: that and like where do you go to get that information?
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: Like it's taken me a long time to learn all
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: that stuff. I'm still learning. So what I love about
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: investments and really what really what the EYL guys Rashaan
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: and Troy do is like make financial literacy accessible and digestible.
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: Yeah, and like you said, digestible.
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: And it's so investments is just like a space. The
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: energy there is like everyone's there because they want to
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: learn something and just like better their lives. Right, Everyone's
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: not trying to be a billionaire like some people are
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: just trying to figure out how do I like properly
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: get investors to scale my business, how do I, I
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: you know, get use AI it's and make my business
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: run more efficiently, like just information. So it's cool because
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: you know, there's so much shit going on. Everyone's so
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: fucking mean yes and name calling, bullshit, fat fuck loser
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: in cells. Everything is just wow all the time. You
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: can't take tile and all women need to get back
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: in the fucking kitchen, every immigrant leave. Everything is just
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: like this constant bombardment of like shit. Ah.
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: So it's cool to just have a space.
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: Where I'm just like unu from the craziness.
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: Yeah, and like let's just let's talk about how to
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: make our lives better and like leave something for our
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: kids and create some generational wealth and be able to
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: keep our home and buy a new car like that.
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: I think is is like nice and I'm really just
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: proud of like what they built. It's a cool weekend now.
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: I think it's super dope. Well, listen, you are got
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: an announcement coming hopefully sooner than later. Yeah, as we wait,
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: as it as it builds up the anticipation to where
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: Joey Taylor is going to be next.
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: You will like it. You will like the announcement.
