- 0:04Speaker 2: Say Hester and Hester got it fa fa from carrying
- 0:08Speaker 2: each other to and Natty carrying each other. On the air,
- 0:12Speaker 2: there's drop control.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Live from the Raising Kine studio. It's off the bench,
- 0:49Speaker 1: all right.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Welcome back here.
- 0:50Speaker 3: I'm Bench number three live from the Raisin Kine Studio.
- 0:55Speaker 3: Lynn landra taite Cane, tiny baby Cane. Oh broke leg.
- 1:07Speaker 4: Who did that to her?
- 1:08Speaker 2: I don't know. I think she was born that way.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Could be could be a little birth defect. She didn't
- 1:13Speaker 2: like to talk about it too much. Guys.
- 1:15Speaker 4: She can't talk yet.
- 1:16Speaker 3: She can't even see her talking about That's why she
- 1:18Speaker 3: got the glasses on. Pubby's eyes don't open for a.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Couple of days. Congratulations, by the way, Kane, you hit
- 1:26Speaker 2: it very well.
- 1:29Speaker 5: You can tell it's her baby too, because like perfect
- 1:32Speaker 5: bandana match.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Past that down. Huh m hmm. Don't blink, it's yours confirmed.
- 1:53Speaker 4: There is now an orange cat outside of Laundre's house
- 1:56Speaker 4: in the chat.
- 1:57Speaker 2: So yeah, that's true.
- 2:01Speaker 4: He missed it straight cat that broke my heart yesterday.
- 2:06Speaker 3: And that and I don't know if it's confirmed, but
- 2:10Speaker 3: we believe that Alandra kicked it.
- 2:12Speaker 4: I did not.
- 2:13Speaker 2: She like literally kicked it to shove it with your foot.
- 2:17Speaker 5: No, out of the way, give it a little head tape.
- 2:20Speaker 4: I definitely pet it.
- 2:24Speaker 2: I give a little m h out of disgust. By
- 2:27Speaker 2: the way.
- 2:28Speaker 4: I mean, I was grossed out when I dry heaving.
- 2:33Speaker 4: I literally was like this and then I washed my
- 2:37Speaker 4: hands immediately.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Landra, this might be a topic that you would like.
- 2:46Speaker 4: Is it about the Mexican cartel?
- 2:48Speaker 3: A local correspondents on the cartel?
- 2:51Speaker 2: I'm always scared that this is right up your alley.
- 2:55Speaker 4: Yeah, and then it's always the most insane headline ever.
- 2:58Speaker 3: No, this is actually sporty. Okay, we're getting a rematch
- 3:03Speaker 3: eleven years later Mayweather Pack.
- 3:05Speaker 4: Yeah, oh yeah, I did see that.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Yeah, they have agreed.
- 3:08Speaker 3: Stupid September nineteenth, twenty twenty six. They will be fighting
- 3:14Speaker 3: in the sphere in Vegas on Netflix.
- 3:16Speaker 4: Are they trying to That's usually around the time that
- 3:19Speaker 4: Canelo fights, because it's around like Mexican Independence date. Are
- 3:23Speaker 4: they trying to upstage my guy? I don't know if
- 3:26Speaker 4: he has a fight coming up.
- 3:27Speaker 5: Actually, essentially smart though, they should put him in the
- 3:29Speaker 5: ring three way fight first.
- 3:32Speaker 2: That would get some money.
- 3:34Speaker 4: That would be badass. No, they you know what they
- 3:37Speaker 4: should do, tag team boxing match, Bring back Triple G
- 3:40Speaker 4: with Canelo Okay and then Pakia employee My Mayweather.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Definitely no Triple G is Kennedika Alovkin Ganadi. What words
- 3:51Speaker 2: did you just say to me? Last name? Okay? Hell, yeah,
- 3:55Speaker 2: that's who he is.
- 3:56Speaker 4: He just they had some chronic fights that would be
- 4:00Speaker 4: sick though.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Little tag team boxing match. I like that. Yeah, one old,
- 4:04Speaker 2: one year reaching in the ring. Tag gods.
- 4:09Speaker 5: Smart to do it in Vegas. The look at a
- 4:12Speaker 5: senior citizen discount on some of the buffets. So that's
- 4:14Speaker 5: actually a good idea for Peck. Actually, I was kind
- 4:17Speaker 5: of surprised not yet. Uh Floyd Mayweather of course a
- 4:21Speaker 5: fifty and oh record. He is forty nine, yeah, Paqiao
- 4:25Speaker 5: sixty two eight and three forty seven years old, So
- 4:29Speaker 5: youth is on Peckya side. And Pacquiao is saying, like,
- 4:32Speaker 5: I've been wanting this rematch. My shoulder was hurt back
- 4:35Speaker 5: in twenty fifteen. Convenient, that's why I lost. You get
- 4:40Speaker 5: the rematch, Floyd Maywee the currently minus won seventy five
- 4:44Speaker 5: to win the match.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Pack Yeah, play what is it. He's minus Mayweather's won
- 4:50Speaker 3: minus won seventy five, pac Yo plus one thirty five.
- 4:55Speaker 3: So yeah, what's the point on this? But I mean, okay,
- 4:59Speaker 3: I know it's fine when it's abstupid. Should make money,
- 5:02Speaker 3: make money, ish money, pay it. That's the man has
- 5:06Speaker 3: money and they're gonna make a lot of it. I
- 5:09Speaker 3: know Floyd likes to spend it, so he still have
- 5:14Speaker 3: the private jet probably.
- 5:17Speaker 4: I mean he literally was called the Money Team.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Just saying like he was pretty famous for like doing
- 5:23Speaker 3: like multimillion dollar bets on different things.
- 5:25Speaker 5: But you don't have to go back and fight. Just
- 5:28Speaker 5: sell your PG buddy or PJ or.
- 5:30Speaker 3: Keep it in fight. That's the other option, which is
- 5:35Speaker 3: the option he's choosing.
- 5:36Speaker 5: And it is always better to have a private jet
- 5:39Speaker 5: than not, that's true.
- 5:40Speaker 2: And you're also fighting another old So this is.
- 5:42Speaker 3: Going to be probably what, uh eight figure pay day,
- 5:47Speaker 3: one hundred million dollars. Yeah, I mean it's Netflix, So
- 5:51Speaker 3: Netflix of course says the worldwide you know whatever, they
- 5:53Speaker 3: as much money as they want.
- 5:55Speaker 4: What was the last perse.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Eleven years ago.
- 5:59Speaker 4: Yeah, which obviously fifty to ozer record. Mayweather won that one.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Yeah, because Pakia's shoulder was hurt.
- 6:08Speaker 4: Yeah, it was it shoulder. Then it went all the
- 6:11Speaker 4: way to.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Decision forty seven had shutter?
- 6:14Speaker 4: Was that twenty fifteen right?
- 6:16Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah. Twenty fifteen.
- 6:20Speaker 4: Fight grossed well over six hundred million in total revenue,
- 6:24Speaker 4: So Mayweather's earnings were around one hundred and eighty to
- 6:27Speaker 4: two hundred and fifty million, and then pakils were around
- 6:30Speaker 4: one hundred and twenty two one hundred.
- 6:31Speaker 5: And thirty A fight too, I take it back, Yeah,
- 6:34Speaker 5: well was I say it again?
- 6:35Speaker 2: I'm sorry say the perse again.
- 6:38Speaker 4: May The total for the fight, it was well over
- 6:41Speaker 4: six hundred and million dollars, six hundred million dollars in
- 6:44Speaker 4: total revenue like pay per view, ticket sales, sponsors all that.
- 6:48Speaker 4: Mayweather's purse was around one hundred and eighty to two
- 6:51Speaker 4: hundred and fifty million, and then pakiws pakios was one
- 6:56Speaker 4: hundred and twenty two one hundred and thirty.
- 6:57Speaker 3: Million two and this is in twenty fifteen DoLS. That
- 7:00Speaker 3: was probably like standard pay per view. Like I don't understand,
- 7:04Speaker 3: you know, I know that Netflix gets a bump on
- 7:07Speaker 3: a lot of things, but I don't know how their
- 7:09Speaker 3: business model and paved.
- 7:11Speaker 4: I don't either, because This is only like what the
- 7:12Speaker 4: second or third fight that they've broadcasted, like they did
- 7:15Speaker 4: the Jake Paul versus Tyson that one.
- 7:18Speaker 3: That one was awful because it no one could watch
- 7:20Speaker 3: it because it just wasn't ready for it. Now they
- 7:21Speaker 3: improved and then they brought NFL to Netflix as well,
- 7:25Speaker 3: and everything's been actually really good since then.
- 7:28Speaker 2: But that was terrible. So they learned a lot.
- 7:29Speaker 4: I don't know if the NFL has as much viewers
- 7:32Speaker 4: as like a boxing.
- 7:33Speaker 3: So you got to think that they're not taking less
- 7:35Speaker 3: than what they got paid then to come back as
- 7:37Speaker 3: forty nine to forty seven year olds to punch each
- 7:39Speaker 3: other's in the face.
- 7:40Speaker 4: Let me see what Jake Paul versus Tyson so was
- 7:48Speaker 4: aer Logan.
- 7:49Speaker 3: It seems like a like a like a lost leader
- 7:51Speaker 3: for Netflix to do that. I mean they're coming out
- 7:53Speaker 3: of pocket, I mean at least three hundred million to
- 7:55Speaker 3: pay these two gentlemen. They're not really it's not a
- 8:00Speaker 3: payer plate like pay for view scene.
- 8:03Speaker 4: Yeah, because yeah, you're right, they're not going to get
- 8:05Speaker 4: pay per view earnings because they don't have.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Now, they'll get a lot of new followers or subscribers.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Excuse me.
- 8:14Speaker 5: Look at some of the because like Netflix will do
- 8:16Speaker 5: the live ads like they did with with the NFL
- 8:19Speaker 5: they like they did, they did all that live.
- 8:23Speaker 2: The Sphere is going to get theirs too.
- 8:27Speaker 5: I don't even want to know how much of his
- 8:28Speaker 5: tickets are going to be.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 8:33Speaker 5: I'm watch The Wizard of Oz, like the movie we've
- 8:37Speaker 5: all seen numerous times. You can go to Vegas and
- 8:41Speaker 5: watch that in the Sphere.
- 8:42Speaker 2: It is like two D.
- 8:45Speaker 4: Matt did that Stona original. You went to go watch
- 8:50Speaker 4: the Wizard of Oz at the Sphere.
- 8:53Speaker 2: The Sphere looks awesome. I don't know if I'm paying
- 8:55Speaker 2: two hundred bucks it does.
- 8:59Speaker 3: It's probably the not what's showing. It's probably just the
- 9:02Speaker 3: being in it.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Being in it.
- 9:04Speaker 3: This is when we can go, what what what's the
- 9:06Speaker 3: show around this time that we can go, Yeah, why not,
- 9:08Speaker 3: We'll just I'll go enjoy the Sphere one time you're
- 9:11Speaker 3: there once.
- 9:11Speaker 2: I do want to see it.
- 9:13Speaker 4: So this is definitely like a money thing because Floyd
- 9:18Speaker 4: Mayweather's also suing his broadcast partner, Showtime members. Showtime was
- 9:26Speaker 4: a thing, Okay, so he's suing them, and it's ex
- 9:30Speaker 4: president claiming they with the help of Mayweather's former advisor
- 9:34Speaker 4: concealed and diverted revenue from his earnings through boxing. So
- 9:38Speaker 4: he's seeking three hundred and forty million dollars in damages
- 9:41Speaker 4: through this lawsuit. So I think he's I think he's broke.
- 9:46Speaker 4: He's just to be blunt, just to be blunt, Like,
- 9:48Speaker 4: I think this is a money grab for sure. I mean,
- 9:50Speaker 4: obviously it was going to be they're old and they're whatever.
- 9:53Speaker 3: But and if he can do anything for one hundred
- 9:55Speaker 3: and eighty million dollars at any age, like you do
- 9:58Speaker 3: it right.
- 9:59Speaker 2: So I say anything, not anything.
- 10:01Speaker 4: Jake Paul Just for reference, I know Jake Paul is
- 10:03Speaker 4: not going to have the same pool as Floyd Mayweather
- 10:06Speaker 4: and many patt But to be fair, Mike Tyson was
- 10:09Speaker 4: in this too, Jake Paul. It was reported to have
- 10:11Speaker 4: earned forty million dollars for the fight, and yeah, that
- 10:17Speaker 4: was his purse and the estimated share revenue from the event.
- 10:20Speaker 4: Mike Tyson only got like twenty million for that.
- 10:23Speaker 3: I who through the fight he could have punched him.
- 10:30Speaker 3: I guess, look at I think we think, because of inflation,
- 10:33Speaker 3: that they would we assumed that they would get more
- 10:35Speaker 3: than they got twenty fifteen, but I assumed that in
- 10:37Speaker 3: twenty fifteen.
- 10:38Speaker 2: There was a lot more at stake.
- 10:39Speaker 3: This was like this is this is more of a
- 10:41Speaker 3: active this is more of an exhibition. Yes, hey they
- 10:44Speaker 3: can they can act like in the you know, pre
- 10:47Speaker 3: fight stuff like they hate each other and stuff, but
- 10:50Speaker 3: like their business partners. Right, But there was a lot
- 10:52Speaker 3: more at steak then. I'm assuming, like real belts and
- 10:54Speaker 3: things like that. There was a sanction fight. I mean,
- 10:56Speaker 3: I don't know if this was not, but I mean
- 10:58Speaker 3: that was like, yeah, four or tight. I guess I
- 11:00Speaker 3: assumed eleven years later, with inflation, they're gonna get paid more,
- 11:02Speaker 3: But now I'm thinking, are they gonna get paid less?
- 11:05Speaker 2: Probably? Probably?
- 11:07Speaker 3: I don't know, we'll find out. Yeah, Mike Tyson did
- 11:11Speaker 3: forget how to punch in that fight. I don't think
- 11:13Speaker 3: you forgot. He was just told not to.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Anthony Josh Wao didn't forget to forget. I really like that.
- 11:22Speaker 4: I love a j.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Who's who's that boxer he lost to? That was like.
- 11:29Speaker 4: It was looked out of shape the boat or the last.
- 11:32Speaker 2: One the guys that looked out of shape.
- 11:36Speaker 5: It was like years ago, are you're talking about You're
- 11:38Speaker 5: probably thinking of Deontay Wallder and Tyson Fury.
- 11:41Speaker 6: Is that.
- 11:43Speaker 4: There's Anthony oh Ruise you're talking about Ruise? Yeah, he
- 11:49Speaker 4: beat him once and then he lost to him too.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm sure.
- 11:52Speaker 3: Yeah, they didn't look like they you're talking about. Should
- 11:55Speaker 3: have been in in the same ring. Yeah, Jake Paul
- 11:59Speaker 3: looked liked the better bye.
- 12:01Speaker 5: Over him. They beat him, beat him up, punch Hi
- 12:05Speaker 5: around the face. Anyway, So are you all excited about it?
- 12:08Speaker 2: I'm sure.
- 12:08Speaker 4: I mean we can watch it.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Obviously we're all watching it. You're not watching it, probably not, man,
- 12:15Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know.
- 12:16Speaker 5: It depends on what else is going on that day.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Watch them.
- 12:20Speaker 5: What day of the week is September nineteenth, it's a
- 12:23Speaker 5: Friday or Saturday?
- 12:24Speaker 2: No shot, grass is still growing in September.
- 12:29Speaker 5: Yeah, that's what I'm gonna be. That's a that's a
- 12:31Speaker 5: Saturday in September. I will absolutely not be watching that.
- 12:35Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a good point in the in the chat here,
- 12:37Speaker 3: the first fite was boring, so I would the second
- 12:39Speaker 3: one be any good? Aren't all Mayweather fights pretty boring?
- 12:44Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 12:46Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 12:46Speaker 2: Defensive secretary of Defense.
- 12:48Speaker 4: That was like the thing about, Yes, he's a defensive fighter.
- 12:52Speaker 4: So that was the thing that people would say about
- 12:53Speaker 4: Mayweather all the time, like he just runs around the
- 12:55Speaker 4: ring or is.
- 12:57Speaker 2: He just there's how to win point?
- 13:00Speaker 4: That's that was always his his way of doing it.
- 13:06Speaker 5: Got him a good record, I mean if you can, yeah,
- 13:10Speaker 5: fifty and oh he.
- 13:11Speaker 3: Played defense all the way to one hundred and eighty
- 13:13Speaker 3: million dollars. Person, good for you?
- 13:17Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 13:19Speaker 3: Do you think he's broke though, Like, let's sake, let's
- 13:20Speaker 3: take you about. You think he's broke?
- 13:22Speaker 4: Just pure speculation. I think he is because he's suing
- 13:26Speaker 4: for three hundred and fifty million and then suddenly coming
- 13:28Speaker 4: out to fight.
- 13:33Speaker 6: Broke.
- 13:34Speaker 2: I think he's close to it.
- 13:35Speaker 5: I mean what, like what the definition of his broke
- 13:38Speaker 5: is probably different than our definition. He probably just can't
- 13:41Speaker 5: live money. Probably has a big asset, but like how
- 13:46Speaker 5: much of that is he can't how much of it
- 13:48Speaker 5: as cat?
- 13:48Speaker 3: Yeah, he can't blow money right now, which is what's
- 13:52Speaker 3: just like what he wants to do, which is what
- 13:53Speaker 3: he can't lift his money Mayweather right now, he's owe
- 13:56Speaker 3: money Mayweather.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Yeah, Oh I like that.
- 14:04Speaker 3: I went to uh Lacey and I went to Nashville.
- 14:07Speaker 3: It's probably five years ago now, and we went to
- 14:10Speaker 3: an Elton John concert. Fine, it was in It was awesome.
- 14:13Speaker 3: I've always wanted to go to Elton John concert. It
- 14:15Speaker 3: was in Titan Stadium. I don't know the name of
- 14:17Speaker 3: the stadium. Yep, it was, you know, the big stadium.
- 14:22Speaker 3: Tour blah blah blah.
- 14:23Speaker 2: And I'm sitting there and I'm watching him and.
- 14:28Speaker 3: Fantastic. Obviously I'm not I'm like, why is he still
- 14:31Speaker 3: doing this? Like why is he still touring? And come
- 14:34Speaker 3: to find out, it was the money thing, like he had.
- 14:36Speaker 3: He loves to spend money, that's his thing. He's got
- 14:40Speaker 3: houses and like six of the seven continents he's got
- 14:43Speaker 3: all this stuff like, and he lives a very the
- 14:46Speaker 3: lifestyle and he needed the money.
- 14:47Speaker 2: So he's out.
- 14:48Speaker 3: There and you know, it's elderly at this point, and
- 14:53Speaker 3: he's walking around controlling the stage and doing it. So
- 14:57Speaker 3: you know, if you are use your skill set, use
- 15:01Speaker 3: your talents, and do it as long as you can.
- 15:03Speaker 3: But if you got to live that lifestyle, you gotta
- 15:06Speaker 3: stay performing. You can ever retire, you gotta keep on
- 15:11Speaker 3: I'm still standing, gotta keep on standing.
- 15:14Speaker 4: I'm still standing.
- 15:16Speaker 3: That was That was one of the few times he
- 15:17Speaker 3: stood up. I mean you got to and they showed
- 15:20Speaker 3: his age. Yeah, and he had to see Yeah, he
- 15:22Speaker 3: had to of course, great song. All right, we we
- 15:27Speaker 3: got Jay Johnson coming up in about fifteen minutes from now.
- 15:33Speaker 3: So second we're gonna go to break. We're gonna keep
- 15:36Speaker 3: talking here, but we will sure on the next segment.
- 15:39Speaker 3: We'll be sure to break on time and get Jay

- 17:53Speaker 1: while you was.
- 17:54Speaker 2: Thinking, and I got the cut on the dumbs, so
- 17:56Speaker 2: you can comb in on the run.
- 17:58Speaker 1: Your mom don't know that you will miss see them.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Take it easy, Taylor's.
- 18:11Speaker 5: I'm about to break this computer screen. Dude, ND just
- 18:14Speaker 5: firing me up over here.
- 18:17Speaker 2: You have to adjust yourself.
- 18:21Speaker 3: See you should have say Taylor, Taylor knows every single
- 18:23Speaker 3: word to this one.
- 18:26Speaker 2: What what? What do you point it? You got another cane? What?
- 18:33Speaker 2: Just keep popping up? Dude?
- 18:34Speaker 4: Whoa mama? Kane gets around?
- 18:37Speaker 2: That's right, two different dads. You can't tell two different dads.
- 18:43Speaker 4: That's crazy.
- 18:44Speaker 3: Dang, look at that. We're like cuteness overload over here
- 18:49Speaker 3: raising Kane Studio.
- 18:50Speaker 4: Just throw a picture of punch in the back.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Please, Yeah, there you go.
- 18:53Speaker 4: I'll throw a punch on the screen.
- 18:55Speaker 2: The computer got back up. You think Jay Johnson knows who?
- 19:00Speaker 4: We should definitely ask him the hearts?
- 19:07Speaker 2: He saw the heart saw the hearts?
- 19:10Speaker 4: No, I really do actually feel like we should ask
- 19:12Speaker 4: Jay if he knows about Punch the Monkey. He's not
- 19:14Speaker 4: gonna know about him.
- 19:15Speaker 2: No, he has knows about Punch the Monkey. I didn't
- 19:18Speaker 2: know about him.
- 19:19Speaker 4: And you're like kind of chronically.
- 19:21Speaker 3: Online chronically a strong word. I do work your favorite.
- 19:26Speaker 3: I am online look at sports cards.
- 19:30Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, I love him.
- 19:36Speaker 2: They could at least wash it, right the monkey? Which
- 19:40Speaker 2: one is just gonna get dirty again?
- 19:43Speaker 5: Punch of the stuffed one. Gotta clarify by the stuffed animal. Yeah,
- 19:49Speaker 5: they can wash it.
- 19:52Speaker 4: Oh no, they tried to give him a new one.
- 19:54Speaker 4: He didn't like it.
- 19:55Speaker 3: Well, they can wash it, though. You think he don't
- 19:58Speaker 3: like it if it's not like detergent.
- 20:03Speaker 4: You know how monkeys groom each other. He was grooming
- 20:06Speaker 4: the stuffy.
- 20:08Speaker 2: Does he threw? Does he throw two at it? Though?
- 20:10Speaker 3: I don't know because they do that as well. I
- 20:13Speaker 3: don't know if it's his type.
- 20:17Speaker 4: I love him.
- 20:21Speaker 5: She's also Lundra's not going to New York next week. Match,
- 20:24Speaker 5: She's going to Japan. She's gonna break out Punch, So.
- 20:28Speaker 4: Don't be surprised if he's hanging out in the studio
- 20:30Speaker 4: next week.
- 20:32Speaker 3: You either go there if you're gonna go You either
- 20:34Speaker 3: punch him or you take the stuffy.
- 20:37Speaker 5: She's gonna have two animals, punch the monkey and kick
- 20:39Speaker 5: the cat.
- 20:41Speaker 2: And what kick the cat? The cat?
- 20:49Speaker 3: You dropped an article in just pulling up Taylor, it's
- 20:53Speaker 3: worth mentioning world's oldest competitive pool player. Yep, still going
- 21:01Speaker 3: strong playing at ninety eight years old. Now is this professional?
- 21:05Speaker 3: A Florida woman who became the world's oldest competitive pool
- 21:08Speaker 3: player at the age of ninety four is still going
- 21:10Speaker 3: strong at ninety eight and is headed to a tournament
- 21:12Speaker 3: in Las Vegas. Good for Jensen Beach. No, I'm sorry,
- 21:18Speaker 3: Jensen Beach resident sounds like Jensen Beach. I've never heard
- 21:21Speaker 3: of Jensen Beach. Maggie Kennedy does the world competitive Jensen.
- 21:27Speaker 2: He's like Jensen Beach. I don't know where Maggie Kennedy is,
- 21:30Speaker 2: but that's where she lives.
- 21:34Speaker 3: Oh, probably should have read this article up break. Have
- 21:39Speaker 3: y'all ever heard of Jensen Beach. It doesn't sound like
- 21:42Speaker 3: a person. Oh man, I've heard of the person named
- 21:45Speaker 3: Jensen before. Anyway, that's kind of that's kind of ages
- 21:51Speaker 3: and that you're laughing at this article.
- 21:54Speaker 2: About this article? How about that ninety eight years old?
- 22:00Speaker 2: How about it going to a tournament.
- 22:04Speaker 5: I guess Vegas is the home for geriatrics now like Mayweather,
- 22:07Speaker 5: paqil this lady. I wonder what her odds are. Oh,
- 22:11Speaker 5: she's got to be a long shot. But I am
- 22:13Speaker 5: hammering that odds.
- 22:14Speaker 4: Right.
- 22:14Speaker 5: You gotta sprinkle a little bit on Maggie slash Jensen, Well,
- 22:20Speaker 5: Jensen classic Jensen.
- 22:22Speaker 2: Can't find Jensen Beach on the betting line.
- 22:25Speaker 5: You call the betting Matt's calling Vegas sportsbooks.
- 22:30Speaker 2: Hey, where is Jensen Beach?
- 22:32Speaker 3: I want to bet on missus Beach eight?
- 22:42Speaker 2: Is insane playing pool?
- 22:43Speaker 6: Right?
- 22:44Speaker 5: If she's anny good? I mean I'm looking for right now?
- 22:48Speaker 5: She said this long of a career.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I can't.
- 22:53Speaker 3: But I think can anybody in her tournament? Or do
- 22:55Speaker 3: you have to like be in the world rankings to
- 22:57Speaker 3: get tournament?
- 23:02Speaker 4: I don't know how cool work this is.
- 23:04Speaker 3: This is crazy like China and Ai. They gotta they
- 23:09Speaker 3: gotta slow down. I'm reading to this article, reading about
- 23:12Speaker 3: Jensen Beach and her pool playing, and there's a video
- 23:15Speaker 3: ad here about Punch.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Punch the Monkey.
- 23:19Speaker 4: Yeah, because he's adorable.
- 23:21Speaker 2: Yeah, but I heard us talking about it.
- 23:24Speaker 4: I mean wouldn't you rather punch the monkey than.
- 23:29Speaker 2: That's true?
- 23:29Speaker 4: Like something for consumption? You know?
- 23:32Speaker 2: Absolutely? All right, we got Jay Johnson coming, come here.
- 23:38Speaker 2: I'm gonna join the show. We're gonna talk a little baseball.
- 23:41Speaker 4: Are you gonna ask him short for.
- 23:45Speaker 3: It's the greatest coach in college baseball. We're gonna have
- 23:50Speaker 3: it right here on the show when we come back.
- 23:52Speaker 3: Stay tuned, right here, off the bench, off the bench,
- 23:57Speaker 3: all right. In today's world, your business cannot afford that
- 24:00Speaker 3: downtime downtown is a killer. Anytime your office you're paying,
- 24:04Speaker 3: you're paying your staff, you're paying peel and they just
- 24:06Speaker 3: can't work at the same efficiency when you have that
- 24:09Speaker 3: technology that is jammed, stuck, went offline, whatever it is. So,
- 24:12Speaker 3: whether you're unning a small office, a school, full scale
- 24:15Speaker 3: hospital company, whatever it is, when the printers stop, the
- 24:18Speaker 3: copier's jam, everything slows down, it comes to a halt.
- 24:21Speaker 3: That's where Golf Coast Office Product can come in. Louisiana's
- 24:24Speaker 3: leader in office technology, and for over forty years, Golf
- 24:27Speaker 3: Coast Office Products has kept businesses like yours running smoothly
- 24:29Speaker 3: with copyers, printage, printers, managed it services that actually make
- 24:34Speaker 3: sense and make a difference. But what really sets them
- 24:36Speaker 3: apart and gets them all these awards is their award
- 24:39Speaker 3: winning local service team that responds fast, keeps you up
- 24:42Speaker 3: and running, and treat your business like their own. That's
- 24:45Speaker 3: why you'll see their names and office of schools athletic
- 24:47Speaker 3: departments across Baton Rouge New Orleans. Lafayette's proud of partners
- 24:52Speaker 3: with LSU New Orleans, Saints, Raydiue.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Cagans, all of it.
- 24:54Speaker 3: Louisian owned, locally staffed, Golf Coast office products, gcop net dot.
- 24:58Speaker 1: Com two thousand and seven, Champs Purple and Gold to
- 25:21Speaker 1: the core. This is Off the Bench with Hester and Flynn,
- 25:25Speaker 1: Baton Rougees go to for all things Louisiana sports.
- 25:35Speaker 3: All right, welcome back here off the Bench Thursday morning,
- 25:38Speaker 3: ninety a, live from the Raisin Kine Studio. We are
- 25:42Speaker 3: lucky fortunate enough to have I guess it is coming
- 25:45Speaker 3: to us every single week right here on off the bench,
- 25:48Speaker 3: the best college baseball coach in the country, Coach Jay Johnson.
- 25:52Speaker 3: We got him on the line. Coach, how you doing
- 25:54Speaker 3: this morning?
- 25:55Speaker 6: Being great? Matt?
- 25:55Speaker 2: How you doing doing fantastic? Coach? Great to have you.
- 25:58Speaker 3: We appreciate your time as always, I just kind of
- 26:00Speaker 3: want to, I guess, dive right into everything, you know,
- 26:03Speaker 3: a couple of weeks into the season now, of course,
- 26:06Speaker 3: coming off a midweek loss this past week, this past
- 26:09Speaker 3: Tuesday to big Nie, just kind of want to get
- 26:12Speaker 3: your thoughts on the game, how everything went. And I
- 26:15Speaker 3: know you want to win every single game, but I
- 26:16Speaker 3: know there's a constant evaluation what going on at this
- 26:20Speaker 3: part of the season, of course, but just give me
- 26:22Speaker 3: your kind of overview thoughts on the game on Tuesday.
- 26:26Speaker 6: Yeah, not not our best game, obviously. I think the
- 26:31Speaker 6: team had played honestly great for eight games, like I
- 26:35Speaker 6: mean in Jacksonville, probably hard to ask for much more,
- 26:39Speaker 6: especially this time of the year, and felt, you know,
- 26:44Speaker 6: very good about how we played. I did talk to
- 26:46Speaker 6: them immediately after winning that tournament about the difficulty that
- 26:51Speaker 6: Tuesday can bring and kind of tab it as the
- 26:53Speaker 6: week three coma of college baseball where the newness kind
- 26:57Speaker 6: of wears off, and you know, we always try to
- 26:59Speaker 6: be ahead of it. I like how they competed and
- 27:04Speaker 6: fought back in the game. We had two innings get
- 27:07Speaker 6: away from us defensively, and I think and from the mound,
- 27:11Speaker 6: and I think that's the next task for this team
- 27:14Speaker 6: is if we can stay out of big innings, we're
- 27:16Speaker 6: gonna be really hard to beat. So we have to
- 27:19Speaker 6: really make sure we're on top of that, you know,
- 27:21Speaker 6: with the pitching staff, because if we can keep that,
- 27:26Speaker 6: you know, the inning at a one or a two. Offensively,
- 27:31Speaker 6: even though it wasn't our best game, we did still
- 27:33Speaker 6: find a way to score six runs and and got
- 27:36Speaker 6: the go ahead or the winning run on base of
- 27:39Speaker 6: the ninth inning, you know, provided it wasn't our best
- 27:41Speaker 6: game offensively, So that's kind of the next task. And
- 27:45Speaker 6: excited to get into five games and six days again
- 27:48Speaker 6: starting tomorrow and get back competing.
- 27:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:50Speaker 3: I think for coaches out there, I think that's probably
- 27:53Speaker 3: the part that is that's talked about the least amount
- 27:55Speaker 3: of your job and what you deal with day. Of course,
- 27:58Speaker 3: it's the it's the game plan, and it's the lineup building,
- 28:01Speaker 3: it's it's coach your philosophy. But I mean coaches are psychiatrists.
- 28:06Speaker 3: A lot of times you have to understand and teach.
- 28:08Speaker 3: I mean, you're dealing with guys that are eighteen to
- 28:10Speaker 3: twenty three years old. These these are people out of
- 28:13Speaker 3: pretty young young folks in their life and they have
- 28:16Speaker 3: to learn. You can practice all you want, you can
- 28:18Speaker 3: practice hard, but you played a lot of baseball in
- 28:20Speaker 3: the first two weeks, and then they have to reset
- 28:22Speaker 3: their mind and come out on a Tuesday. And it's
- 28:24Speaker 3: just how much do you focus on just the psychology
- 28:26Speaker 3: of these guys, and like it's a learned thing of
- 28:29Speaker 3: how to reset from whether it's a loss, whether it's
- 28:32Speaker 3: a win, and come back. And of course they're gonna
- 28:34Speaker 3: have to reset from a Tuesday, but you've talked about
- 28:36Speaker 3: resetting from a Wednesday to a midweek game. So how
- 28:39Speaker 3: much do you just focus and take pride on teaching
- 28:41Speaker 3: these guys how to attack mentally every single game?
- 28:45Speaker 6: Yeah, I'll steal a coach David line of like we
- 28:49Speaker 6: literally try to work on mindset three hundred and sixty
- 28:52Speaker 6: five days a year in the program. And it is
- 28:54Speaker 6: the most important thing, and it's more important. It's really
- 28:57Speaker 6: important in anything you're trying to do in higher performance.
- 28:59Speaker 6: It's really important with baseball with the monotony of the game,
- 29:03Speaker 6: the amount of games, the element of failure within baseball,
- 29:09Speaker 6: the degree of concentration that's required to be really really successful,
- 29:14Speaker 6: and if it you know, we try to get them
- 29:17Speaker 6: to where we don't have to learn the lessons in office,
- 29:21Speaker 6: and we've been really good at that year, and you
- 29:24Speaker 6: know we it got us a little bit. And and
- 29:26Speaker 6: again like I thought, our guys, they competed fine. We
- 29:28Speaker 6: got to go ahead run on base in the ninth inning.
- 29:32Speaker 6: I think there was like a the second to the
- 29:34Speaker 6: fourth inning offensively where for the first time all year,
- 29:39Speaker 6: really all year, we got a little bit out of
- 29:41Speaker 6: sorts and let them, you know, pile up a few zeros.
- 29:44Speaker 6: And then after that we were pretty good from the
- 29:46Speaker 6: fifth to the ninth on, but it was a little
- 29:49Speaker 6: too little, too late. And then defensively, like I said this,
- 29:52Speaker 6: this just comes down to our ability to stay out
- 29:56Speaker 6: of beginnings. And if you look at last year's team,
- 29:58Speaker 6: you know we did not give up very many the
- 30:00Speaker 6: innings of three runs or more. And that was we
- 30:03Speaker 6: were in every game that we played, with the exception
- 30:05Speaker 6: of one for an entire college baseball season. So I
- 30:10Speaker 6: think we have a pretty good idea of what's important.
- 30:14Speaker 6: I feel, I know we have a good idea of
- 30:15Speaker 6: how we attack it. It doesn't make the games easy,
- 30:18Speaker 6: and if you look around the country this week, like
- 30:21Speaker 6: pretty clear to see. I think six top ten teams
- 30:23Speaker 6: have lost, you know, either between Tuesday or Wednesday, and
- 30:27Speaker 6: so at baseball is great and maddening at the same time.
- 30:30Speaker 6: And that's why all these things that you and I
- 30:31Speaker 6: are talking about are really really important. It's why I'm
- 30:34Speaker 6: having another staff meeting here as soon as I hang
- 30:37Speaker 6: up the phone with you to make sure we got
- 30:38Speaker 6: them dialed in.
- 30:39Speaker 2: That's right.
- 30:39Speaker 3: I'd never stop grinding, whether it's physically, whether it's mentally, emotionally, spiritually,
- 30:42Speaker 3: whatever it does. So watching the game, it was you
- 30:46Speaker 3: go through ten pictures, use ten ten pictures in a game.
- 30:49Speaker 3: I kind of wanted to see, like, what's your thought
- 30:51Speaker 3: process when you know, maybe there's some you know, some walks,
- 30:54Speaker 3: some hit hip batters, things like that. It kind of
- 30:56Speaker 3: seemed like it got to the point I was like,
- 30:57Speaker 3: all right, let's say this guy and you got a
- 30:59Speaker 3: lot of people, you're that you eight in a bullpen constantly.
- 31:01Speaker 3: I know, it's all right, Uh, okay, you walked this sky.
- 31:04Speaker 3: Let's get another guy in. Like, what's your philosophy when
- 31:06Speaker 3: things are going with control issues and you going through
- 31:08Speaker 3: a lot of pictures throughout a game.
- 31:10Speaker 6: Well, we have depth on this staff and so we
- 31:13Speaker 6: don't have to necessarily stay with anybody that it's not
- 31:16Speaker 6: their night, so to speak. Yes, and I didn't really
- 31:20Speaker 6: operate that way. Every pitching decision I make is geared
- 31:23Speaker 6: to help the picture get the next guy out. And
- 31:27Speaker 6: I just feel like a couple the second inning, obviously,
- 31:32Speaker 6: and I believe it was the fourth, we just we
- 31:36Speaker 6: lost the zone. Gave them enough and give them credit,
- 31:39Speaker 6: they got a couple hits with runners in scoring position,
- 31:42Speaker 6: and that that was the difference in the game. We
- 31:44Speaker 6: set them up and then they took advantage of it.
- 31:47Speaker 6: And free bases and two out hitting or hitting with
- 31:49Speaker 6: runners in scoring position are going to be big predictors
- 31:53Speaker 6: and who's going to win. So I kind of tried
- 31:56Speaker 6: to stop talking about it, like it's super what I
- 31:59Speaker 6: call elementary baseball, Like hey, look, we can easily point
- 32:02Speaker 6: to how this happened tonight, and now it's about lining
- 32:06Speaker 6: the pitchers up mentally, physically, matchup wise. I feel good
- 32:10Speaker 6: about all of that, Like it just we painted ourselves
- 32:13Speaker 6: into a corner in two innings and they cashed in
- 32:17Speaker 6: and they deserve to win the game because of that.
- 32:20Speaker 6: I have, you know, a lot of faith and a
- 32:22Speaker 6: lot of guys, And like I said, our task is
- 32:25Speaker 6: making sure we're really dialed in with guys that can
- 32:28Speaker 6: come in and be firemen if you want to call
- 32:32Speaker 6: them that, Like, just shut the inning down, get us
- 32:34Speaker 6: off the field. You know who could throw strikes with
- 32:37Speaker 6: runners on base, who's got an outpitch for some of
- 32:40Speaker 6: the best hitters in the lineup. Just like I said,
- 32:42Speaker 6: if we could keep some of those innings at one
- 32:44Speaker 6: and two instead of three or four, we're going to
- 32:46Speaker 6: be in really good shape.
- 32:47Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure.
- 32:48Speaker 3: Catch Like, with two weekends into the season, how do
- 32:51Speaker 3: you how do you evaluate your weekend rotation as of
- 32:55Speaker 3: right now going into a weekend where you're about to
- 32:58Speaker 3: face dartbo at the Northeastern.
- 33:01Speaker 6: Well, I like where it's headed. I think when you
- 33:04Speaker 6: look at Cason, I think he pitched very well on Friday.
- 33:09Speaker 6: I think we kind of had this weird inning again,
- 33:11Speaker 6: one of those three run innings happened where I mean
- 33:14Speaker 6: they had five or six hits off of him and
- 33:16Speaker 6: only one or two got to the outfield. It was
- 33:18Speaker 6: just like a super bizarre deal him getting two zeros
- 33:23Speaker 6: after all of that happening happening and getting us off
- 33:26Speaker 6: the field with a one run deficit, I believe in
- 33:30Speaker 6: the third inning the other day, I think that was
- 33:32Speaker 6: a lot of what we saw last year. So I'm
- 33:36Speaker 6: excited about him obviously. Moving forward, I think Cooper Moore
- 33:39Speaker 6: has done a great job, not a good job. Gave
- 33:41Speaker 6: up a two run homer near his last pitch of
- 33:43Speaker 6: the outing, but other than that, he's been spectacular. And
- 33:47Speaker 6: then William you know, through the ball Sunday like arguably
- 33:51Speaker 6: the best pitcher in the country, which I think he's
- 33:53Speaker 6: totally capable of being, and I think we're making some
- 33:55Speaker 6: real strides there. So I feel good about those guys.
- 33:59Speaker 6: And the best part, particularly in Case and Williams cases,
- 34:04Speaker 6: they're only going to continue to get better.
- 34:05Speaker 2: You know.
- 34:06Speaker 6: I got to remember, you know, one of them pitched
- 34:08Speaker 6: largely in a midweek and one of them pitched out
- 34:10Speaker 6: of a bullpen last year. So even though they're sophomores,
- 34:13Speaker 6: even though they contributed largely to that national championship, they're
- 34:18Speaker 6: still new at being a weekend starter. It's like, you know,
- 34:21Speaker 6: that sophomore quarterback that was a backup the year before.
- 34:24Speaker 6: There's still a little bit of a learning curve, and
- 34:26Speaker 6: we're going to keep trying to bust through that as
- 34:28Speaker 6: fast as we can. But I think those guys are
- 34:30Speaker 6: going to.
- 34:30Speaker 3: Be great because it is coming from like a football
- 34:33Speaker 3: meadhead guy. So what is like, is it all mental?
- 34:37Speaker 3: H going from the bullpen to a starter? Like, what
- 34:41Speaker 3: is the difference between you know, coming in and relieving
- 34:43Speaker 3: for three, four five innings and pitching starting pitching for three?
- 34:47Speaker 6: I think it's just you might say the same thing,
- 34:50Speaker 6: you know, playing the level of football you did, Like
- 34:53Speaker 6: the best coach you're ever going to have in your
- 34:54Speaker 6: life is playing time and experience. And when you start
- 34:58Speaker 6: doing it and start doing it success fully, it builds confidence.
- 35:02Speaker 6: When you build confidence, you build conviction in what you're doing,
- 35:05Speaker 6: and then the execution becomes better. And so I just
- 35:08Speaker 6: think it's a matter of that. And I really like
- 35:11Speaker 6: the way that those guys are trending, and I like
- 35:14Speaker 6: the way that I believe it's going to continue to trend.
- 35:17Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, let's let's kind of shift the focus
- 35:20Speaker 3: to your lineup. I mean, of course, you have some
- 35:22Speaker 3: very valuable returners, but the new guys have really stepped
- 35:25Speaker 3: into the lineup and produced for you so far in
- 35:28Speaker 3: the season. Mason bron said, thought our Zach yor trick
- 35:30Speaker 3: Carawait talk about they're kind of just getting into the team,
- 35:35Speaker 3: justin with the team and the performance they've been able
- 35:37Speaker 3: to give you your lineup.
- 35:40Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm very excited about all those guys. I think,
- 35:44Speaker 6: you know, Zach, you know, hits some long homers, gets
- 35:47Speaker 6: a lot of attention. But if you look up, the
- 35:49Speaker 6: on base percentage actually looking at it right now is
- 35:52Speaker 6: five twenty four, So that's valuable as well as the
- 35:56Speaker 6: ability to hit the ball over the fence, you know,
- 35:57Speaker 6: like walks in extra base hits is what we want
- 36:00Speaker 6: to design our offense around, and so he's a perfect
- 36:04Speaker 6: type player for that. I'm really impressed with Mason. You know,
- 36:08Speaker 6: you talk about young players being able to slow the
- 36:11Speaker 6: game down, and he showed a really good ability to
- 36:15Speaker 6: do that. You know, you'll continue to see more and
- 36:17Speaker 6: more of him to where I believe someday he'll be,
- 36:20Speaker 6: you know, the best hitter in the program, and might
- 36:23Speaker 6: be sooner than later. And just really like how he
- 36:26Speaker 6: goes about his business and has had I think of
- 36:30Speaker 6: the last eleven at bats, has had ten quality at
- 36:32Speaker 6: bats out of eleven, So feel good about that.
- 36:35Speaker 4: You know Kate.
- 36:36Speaker 6: Aaron Beattie is another one that you know, one A catcher,
- 36:40Speaker 6: one B catcher last year, moving into the primary deal
- 36:46Speaker 6: this year and has put together some some good performances
- 36:49Speaker 6: so far. And it set Darter, you know, a guy
- 36:51Speaker 6: that makes our lineup really long. So I think those
- 36:53Speaker 6: new guys are doing a good job. And you know,
- 36:55Speaker 6: you put them in with the skill sets of Derek
- 36:58Speaker 6: and Steven and Jay like gives us a chance to
- 37:02Speaker 6: score a lot in every game. And they're doing a
- 37:04Speaker 6: good job so far. Like I said, we had a
- 37:06Speaker 6: three inning stretch where we got outside ourselves. Other than that,
- 37:08Speaker 6: you know, pretty pretty good marks for the offense so far.
- 37:11Speaker 3: Coach, how do you teach and coach power in the lineup?
- 37:15Speaker 3: Is it something like when I'm talking about homeer? Is
- 37:18Speaker 3: it something like you don't talk about it just happens.
- 37:20Speaker 3: You just have good at bats, make good cuts at
- 37:22Speaker 3: the ball a How do you coach that? Because of
- 37:24Speaker 3: course it's a huge tool, but it's just one of
- 37:26Speaker 3: many tools that you have offensively. Is it something that
- 37:30Speaker 3: you talk about or does it just come with good
- 37:33Speaker 3: at bats?
- 37:35Speaker 6: Yeah, that's a good question. A lot of people have
- 37:37Speaker 6: different views on this. I think, first off, it's an
- 37:41Speaker 6: important component of college baseball because it covers up a
- 37:44Speaker 6: lot of other mistakes. And my theory is more college
- 37:47Speaker 6: baseball games are lost and not one and so the
- 37:50Speaker 6: power element, you know, can cover up some of the
- 37:53Speaker 6: mistakes that you make in the game. And so that's
- 37:56Speaker 6: why I viewed important. We teach it a little bit differently,
- 37:59Speaker 6: like I said, of the offense is built around walks
- 38:01Speaker 6: and extra base hits, and you know, the pitches you
- 38:04Speaker 6: don't swing at a lot of the time make your
- 38:06Speaker 6: at bats. And it's not just so you can walk.
- 38:08Speaker 6: If you're really zoned into pitches you can drive, you're
- 38:11Speaker 6: gonna hit with more power. And then it becomes if
- 38:14Speaker 6: physicality issue and then like a swing issue, and we
- 38:18Speaker 6: work really hard on both of those, Chris Martin, you know,
- 38:21Speaker 6: with our strength and conditioning, Josh Imps and Mark Wanica
- 38:24Speaker 6: with their swing stuff. So it's a combo of a
- 38:27Speaker 6: lot of things. And you know, first off, probably good
- 38:31Speaker 6: recruiting is how you get there. And for me, it's
- 38:34Speaker 6: just it's a unique element because when you have it,
- 38:37Speaker 6: it can cover up a lot of the other problems
- 38:40Speaker 6: that you have within your team. So it's it's kind
- 38:43Speaker 6: of like weird. Having one element of a football team
- 38:45Speaker 6: that's really good, it can disguise a bunch of other stuff.
- 38:48Speaker 6: And that's why it's important.
- 38:51Speaker 3: Uh, kind of like a little bit of the off
- 38:53Speaker 3: the field question here. But Chris Stanfield, he this past
- 38:57Speaker 3: we got to live like Luke Community Award and that
- 38:59Speaker 3: usually he speaks to somebody who is a good human
- 39:02Speaker 3: of course on and off, but a leader.
- 39:05Speaker 2: Usually what does he What does Kris Stanfield mean to
- 39:06Speaker 2: your team?
- 39:08Speaker 6: Means everything to our team, everything to me. First off,
- 39:12Speaker 6: we're gonna get him healthy and get him back on
- 39:13Speaker 6: the field, and we're moving in a good direction towards
- 39:15Speaker 6: that because he's a great player. But he's also a
- 39:19Speaker 6: great player for this team. That gives us the type
- 39:21Speaker 6: of balance that I think we need to be the
- 39:24Speaker 6: best that we can be. As far as that stuff.
- 39:27Speaker 6: Won the Tony Gwyn Award last year, lived like low
- 39:30Speaker 6: thing this year. The guy's just Hall of Fame human
- 39:33Speaker 6: being on and off the field, and a player that
- 39:36Speaker 6: is a huge reason why we won the twenty twenty
- 39:39Speaker 6: five National Championship. And you know, like I said, just
- 39:43Speaker 6: unfortunately got a weird slide and bruised his hand, you know,
- 39:47Speaker 6: pretty badly sliding into home plate in that second game
- 39:50Speaker 6: of the year. We need to get him back because
- 39:51Speaker 6: he adds a lot of the human being, adds a
- 39:53Speaker 6: lot of the leader, and adds a lot as a
- 39:55Speaker 6: baseball player. And we're turning in a good direction. But
- 39:58Speaker 6: I'll be happy when we can get him back out
- 39:59Speaker 6: on the field.
- 40:00Speaker 2: I'm sure he'll be happy to know.
- 40:01Speaker 3: He is my ten year old son's favorite, absolute favorite
- 40:04Speaker 3: player on the team.
- 40:04Speaker 6: So he good choice fireboy, right there.
- 40:07Speaker 2: That's exactly right. He's got a good judging character. All right.
- 40:10Speaker 3: Last last question for you coaching. Again, this is coming
- 40:13Speaker 3: from an absolute meat head over here who who played football.
- 40:18Speaker 3: Coach three and Z counts. Can we get some swing aways?
- 40:22Speaker 3: They're getting some meatballs out there?
- 40:24Speaker 4: Oh we have them.
- 40:25Speaker 6: Yeah, it's part of the deal. Like it just depends.
- 40:28Speaker 6: The situation has got to be right. You know, a
- 40:31Speaker 6: bad runner too out nobody on base, well, single is
- 40:34Speaker 6: not going to do us any good, so or a walk,
- 40:37Speaker 6: so we might as well let a guy go for
- 40:39Speaker 6: an extra base hit, you know, runner and scoring position.
- 40:43Speaker 6: You know, the guy that can handle the discipline of
- 40:46Speaker 6: not trying to do too much. You know like it's
- 40:49Speaker 6: it's unique. Derek's a guy like I would love for
- 40:52Speaker 6: him to swing with three to zero a runner and
- 40:53Speaker 6: scoring position, but he's got such good plate discipline. He
- 40:56Speaker 6: doesn't like to do it a lot. But that's the
- 40:58Speaker 6: exact guy, because you trust the type of swing he's
- 41:00Speaker 6: gonna put on the ball. So there's times for it. Literally,
- 41:04Speaker 6: I know it may not seem like it, but every
- 41:06Speaker 6: pitch is thrown. I'm trying to do something to move
- 41:08Speaker 6: us closer to winning, and and those decisions are part
- 41:11Speaker 6: of it. And they're you're using a good spot in
- 41:13Speaker 6: a three to ocount and you got runners on base,
- 41:15Speaker 6: so let's get some more of those coming, and we'll
- 41:17Speaker 6: let the boys swing.
- 41:18Speaker 2: A little bit. That's right. I love it, Coach. I
- 41:19Speaker 2: appreciate the time.
- 41:20Speaker 6: There.
- 41:21Speaker 3: He is, Coach Jay Johnson, good enough to join us
- 41:24Speaker 3: this morning. Thank you, coach, good luck this weekend?
- 41:26Speaker 6: All right, thanks man, see it, see you all right there.
- 41:29Speaker 3: He is best coach college baseball. Right there, you're lsu tye.

- 44:04Speaker 3: Does LSU baseball go oh and three? This weekend?
- 44:06Speaker 2: No stupid question because they they play four games.
- 44:12Speaker 4: They played three this weekend, but Monday they play.
- 44:15Speaker 2: One, so they're going four.
- 44:16Speaker 1: No.
- 44:17Speaker 3: Yeah, ask the bench which LSU player is going highest
- 44:23Speaker 3: in the draft.
- 44:24Speaker 2: I'm assuming you mean the football draft. That'd be Monsur. Yeah,
- 44:28Speaker 2: but that's like the chalk answer. So after that, Garrett uh, A. J.
- 44:33Speaker 3: Halsey and Garrett are the rumored in day two. I
- 44:40Speaker 3: think Aaron Anderson, I'm gonna say, stay on that hype train.
- 44:43Speaker 3: I think he's gonna I don't think he's gonna go
- 44:44Speaker 3: higher than them, which is crazy to say that nus
- 44:48Speaker 3: Meyer is going to be that's still had day two
- 44:50Speaker 3: after the season, but I love it. Ask the bench
- 44:54Speaker 3: just really asked Landra, how far did the orange cat
- 44:56Speaker 3: fly when you kick?
- 44:57Speaker 4: I didn't kick the cat, So like on a like.
- 45:01Speaker 2: Give us a percentage of strength you used on that kick.
- 45:04Speaker 4: I didn't kick him.
- 45:04Speaker 5: Oh guys, this is a pylon. She doesn't like to
- 45:08Speaker 5: talk about it. It was a moment of weakness for her.
- 45:10Speaker 4: So did not kick a cat?
- 45:12Speaker 2: What is the proper technique to punt a cat?
- 45:14Speaker 4: No idea. I would not know.
- 45:15Speaker 3: I think it's a standard. That's probably she said she
- 45:17Speaker 3: didn't kick it, she punted.
- 45:19Speaker 2: I think it's a standard and that either standard drop
- 45:21Speaker 2: kick like you put it backstre hey, pound it back. Hey.
- 45:27Speaker 3: Great show, Thank you for everybody, Thanks for everybody listening.
- 45:30Speaker 3: Try try try us A is the main thing, and
- 45:33Speaker 3: go is you? I love you later, dap the bench
