SPEAKER_01: Wait, you're giving my everything.
0:07
SPEAKER_01: Do the pose, do the my everything pose.
0:09
SPEAKER_03: Wait, I don't want them to see my socks, but no free feet.
0:13
SPEAKER_03: No free feet.
0:13
SPEAKER_03: Blur that.
0:15
SPEAKER_03: Blur my feet.
0:16
SPEAKER_01: Hi Angelo.
0:18
SPEAKER_03: Hi, Ramon.
0:19
SPEAKER_01: How are we doing today?
0:21
SPEAKER_03: We're doing very well.
0:23
SPEAKER_01: Wait, how are we doing this month?
0:24
SPEAKER_01: It is still Pride Month.
0:25
SPEAKER_03: It is still Pride Month when this is released.
0:30
SPEAKER_03: So hopefully I'm having myself a time.
0:34
SPEAKER_03: Feeling proud.
0:35
SPEAKER_03: Feeling proud.
0:37
SPEAKER_03: And um not dating, which is something that's come up a lot, um, I feel among uh gay guys online, but also the streets, I feel, have been complaining a lot about dating, and I think it crosses over.
0:55
SPEAKER_03: There are a few genres of this.
0:58
SPEAKER_03: The first is people going on and on about like, oh, they're dating non-negotiables, and I need a guy who's like this and like this and like that, and whatever.
1:08
SPEAKER_03: Another genre is gay guys who are stereotypically attractive complaining about the fact that, like, I don't know, nobody wants to settle down or it's so hard to date or whatever.
1:21
SPEAKER_03: And then another, and I think it's I've seen a lot of straight people talking about this, like ghosting and the issue with ghosting, and everybody talking about their situationships and this, that, and the third.
1:32
SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna preface this conversation by saying, Hey, I have not dated anyone in like 10 years.
1:42
SPEAKER_03: How long?
1:42
SPEAKER_03: Eight years, eight years.
1:44
SPEAKER_03: So, I mean, we probably have a little bit of an outdated understanding of the culture, obviously.
1:51
SPEAKER_03: But also, we could trap a man, so as we could trap a man, and also it's like I dated a lot back in my day in New York.
1:59
SPEAKER_03: Like, sex in the city may have well have been about me.
2:02
SPEAKER_03: Okay.
2:03
SPEAKER_01: Carrie, is that you?
2:04
SPEAKER_03: And I got my Mr.
2:06
SPEAKER_03: Big.
2:06
SPEAKER_03: Well, the parallels are there.
2:10
SPEAKER_01: If the shoe fits, if the pump fits.
2:12
SPEAKER_03: If the pump fits, it's like I have the collection of clothes, the Brickens, I have the Brickens, I have the neurosis, I am self-centered, and I got my Mr.
2:24
SPEAKER_03: Big in the end.
2:25
SPEAKER_01: So the awareness is there.
2:28
SPEAKER_03: But anyway.
2:29
SPEAKER_03: Enough about Angelo.
2:32
SPEAKER_03: All that to say, I think, I think we could impart some wisdom, right?
2:37
SPEAKER_01: Have you been seeing this?
2:38
SPEAKER_01: So, yeah, my best homegirl, Ben, and then you're listening to the show.
2:41
SPEAKER_01: Hi, Ben.
2:42
SPEAKER_01: I always basically Ben's the actively dating friend, and so my awareness of gay dating is through Ben specifically.
2:50
SPEAKER_01: Ben lives in Seattle, so it's not New York, but no, like hearing what it's like to date right now, and then a lot of my friends that are girls, they're younger, they're in their 20s.
2:59
SPEAKER_01: Fundamentally, if you're looking to date a man, that is your first issue right there.
3:03
SPEAKER_01: Fix that gay or straight, men are the root cause of most problems in this world.
3:08
SPEAKER_01: But also, I look at to your point, like these people have such specific criteria of I my non-negotiables are XYZ.
3:17
SPEAKER_01: I am looking for this, and it's you're setting yourself up for failure.
3:22
SPEAKER_01: And even in that, my criticism a lot about my criticism from a lot of these stories I hear is you're not willing to compromise.
3:29
SPEAKER_01: And that's why the one video that we were talking about earlier, it's in that I feel like the issue he's complaining about with relationships, and I'm like, no, this the the couples they're they're not willing to compromise, or they don't understand the necessity of compromising.
3:44
SPEAKER_03: I think so too.
3:46
SPEAKER_03: I mean, one of my the issues that I noticed when seeing a lot of these videos is like people have these long lists of like non-negotiables, or people talk about red flags all the time, or you know, I don't want a person who's like this, this, or that.
4:01
SPEAKER_03: I think for me, in my 20s, my worldview basically opened when I stopped dating, like, oh, this person needs to have everything that I want at first glance.
4:15
SPEAKER_03: Um, and I think through dating, I learned so much about the world, about people, about relationships, definitely about gay men and like the type of shit that we go through by getting to know so many different people through dating.
4:33
SPEAKER_03: And in the end, the person that I ended up with on paper uh would have been a no, would have been an if I'm being transparent, like too old for me.
4:44
SPEAKER_03: And initially we were in a situationship because he said that I was too young for him.
4:49
SPEAKER_03: But in the end, I got my way, and now we've been together for 10 years and we're raising a child together.
4:55
SPEAKER_03: So just to show you, it's like all these people that you're discounting because they don't have everything that you want could be somebody that you could have a successful relationship with.
5:08
SPEAKER_01: Also, what is that delusion of I need this, I need this, I need this, you need therapy to start there.
5:13
SPEAKER_01: But realistically, it's like you're dating to fulfill this checklist that's so made up in your head.
5:18
SPEAKER_01: Realistically, you should just go out and try to have fun.
5:20
SPEAKER_01: Find someone that you enjoy being with that you see potential in.
5:24
SPEAKER_01: Like, you know what?
5:24
SPEAKER_01: I could grow with you, or I see you are so ambitious, I would love to be part of this journey.
5:30
SPEAKER_01: And fundamentally, I just enjoy spending time with you.
5:32
SPEAKER_01: When we and my husband met, I was broke.
5:36
SPEAKER_01: I was broke.
5:37
SPEAKER_01: I had to ask him to help me pay rent one month.
5:40
SPEAKER_01: And within a year, I was in a very different situation.
5:44
SPEAKER_01: And but basically, my entire career since then has been a result of him uplifting, him supporting me, him being a very big part of this, actually.
5:51
SPEAKER_01: He's behind the camera right here.
5:52
SPEAKER_03: He's literally right right here.
5:54
SPEAKER_03: I'm staring at him.
5:56
SPEAKER_01: So I'm a testament to if you see the potential there, stick around.
6:00
SPEAKER_01: It'll pay off in the end.
6:02
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I I think also look at yourself.
6:05
SPEAKER_01: Are you perfect?
6:06
SPEAKER_01: Self-reflect.
6:06
SPEAKER_01: That's the thing.
6:07
SPEAKER_01: A lot of it is delusion.
6:08
SPEAKER_01: People think here's my other issue.
6:10
SPEAKER_01: So the first one is people aren't willing to compromise.
6:12
SPEAKER_01: Number two, people lack self-awareness and they don't realize actually you are a problem.
6:18
SPEAKER_01: You are also the red flag.
6:20
SPEAKER_01: Also, there's like a level of narcissism right now.
6:22
SPEAKER_01: People want these bad dating stories for the sake of a fun sambite and a viral video, and that's an issue.
6:27
SPEAKER_01: Also, I think people just they are not allowing themselves to like let loose and actually enjoy themselves, actually welcome the opportunity to fall in love because people are also afraid of being or appearing too vulnerable and thus getting their heart broken.
6:41
SPEAKER_01: There is nothing more fun.
6:42
SPEAKER_01: Sorry for saying this.
6:44
SPEAKER_01: I love a heartbreak moment because I love being dramatic.
6:47
SPEAKER_01: A 24 to 24 hour to seven-day period of just like a bender, super sad music, just being so dramatic.
6:55
SPEAKER_01: Like there's something very I'm a Leo, if you didn't know.
6:58
SPEAKER_01: Um, I just love that moment, but also there is something very powerful and character building about having your heart broken.
7:05
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I think there's a lack of vulnerability, for sure.
7:08
SPEAKER_03: It's just I think in a way, people think that they deserve perfection.
7:14
SPEAKER_03: What you deserve is to be happy.
7:16
SPEAKER_03: You're not even perfect, girl.
7:17
SPEAKER_03: You're not perfect.
7:18
SPEAKER_03: Um, Dan Savage, the podcaster writer, like he always has this thing that he says that you know, you don't find the one, you find like the 0.85, and then you round up.
7:30
SPEAKER_01: Like some of these people can't even do math.
7:33
SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
7:34
SPEAKER_03: What percentage do you need to round up?
7:36
SPEAKER_03: Tell me that.
7:38
SPEAKER_01: Quick.
7:39
SPEAKER_01: Spell Pharaoh.
7:42
SPEAKER_03: So it's uh that's really the thing.
7:45
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you have to let yourself be vulnerable, let yourself be open to love, let yourself have fun.
7:54
SPEAKER_01: Because with every heartbreak you face, there's then the opportunity to like fall in love again and have that wonderful, you know, butterflies in your stomach.
8:02
SPEAKER_01: That like, ugh, the world, the world is worth living in.
8:05
SPEAKER_01: And people just don't give themselves an opportunity.
8:07
SPEAKER_01: And a way that this reflects is I was just bitching about this the other day to my husband on the subway, is you see people that they post photos and their photo dumps and like their stories, and I'm like, why are you always like serving mug in a camera, but you're never smiling in your photos?
8:21
SPEAKER_01: Why don't I ever see you enjoying life?
8:23
SPEAKER_01: I never see you having fun, being happy, and you're gonna look back on these times in the future and be like, oh, was I actually having fun?
8:30
SPEAKER_01: Was I enjoying this moment?
8:31
SPEAKER_01: Was I living in the moment?
8:32
SPEAKER_01: No, because you're too self-absorbed about what people think about you and how you look.
8:38
SPEAKER_01: And that's why you're kind of miserable.
8:41
SPEAKER_01: No offense.
8:42
SPEAKER_03: I feel like you just clocked my tea.
8:44
SPEAKER_01: No, you have fun.
8:46
SPEAKER_03: Well, yeah, there's there's plenty of documentation of me having fun.
8:50
SPEAKER_01: If everything is Angelo at a trade show or an event, and he's like with other germs who they're just like, they're geeked to be around Angelo, and he's there in like his tabby boobs and his little like tank top, just working on this arm.
9:05
SPEAKER_01: I love I should start screenshotting those, and that'll be like a coffee table book I give you in the future.
9:10
SPEAKER_03: Do you know what?
9:10
SPEAKER_03: I would accept it because that's when I'm in my element.
9:14
SPEAKER_03: You know what you're about, you know your brands.
9:17
SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
9:17
SPEAKER_03: And I think that's what a lot of these I was about to say girls, but y'all may misunderstand the the gay guys.
9:24
SPEAKER_03: The girls.
9:25
SPEAKER_03: The the girl the girls, as as in the gay guys, that's what they don't understand.
9:29
SPEAKER_03: It's like you have to be self-aware.
9:32
SPEAKER_03: Have fun.
9:33
SPEAKER_01: Then stop worrying about what other people think.
9:35
SPEAKER_01: Really, no one cares about you.
9:37
SPEAKER_01: Contrary to what you think, no one cares about you to the way you think about yourself.
9:42
SPEAKER_01: So just like live life.
9:43
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
9:43
SPEAKER_01: Be careless.
9:44
SPEAKER_03: I think another thing that kind of bothers me is like inevitably when gay guys do these whole, you know, oh, this is what I need in a guy.
9:52
SPEAKER_03: They're always like, he needs to be masculine.
9:54
SPEAKER_03: What the fuck does that even mean?
9:56
SPEAKER_01: Bring the sissies back.
9:57
SPEAKER_01: If your whole thing is I need mask, DL, I need a guy who talks like this, I'm like, girl, you gotta get with a sissy at least once or twice in your life.
10:04
SPEAKER_01: We bring the life, we bring the party, we're a lot of fun, and you are shutting yourself off from that.
10:10
SPEAKER_03: Well, yeah, it's like, why do you want heteronormativity?
10:13
SPEAKER_03: Because a lot of the guys who are saying this, it's like, you don't come off so masculine yourself.
10:17
SPEAKER_03: Why don't you bring it?
10:19
SPEAKER_03: I think everybody should be themselves.
10:21
SPEAKER_03: And let me just tell you something.
10:24
SPEAKER_03: I, for one, like to queen out.
10:28
SPEAKER_03: Why not get with somebody that you can queen out with?
10:31
SPEAKER_01: Period.
10:33
SPEAKER_01: My husband is my man, but it's also my girl.
10:35
SPEAKER_01: And I'll be like, bitch.
10:37
SPEAKER_01: And that's like, you know, the duality of a gay relationship.
10:41
SPEAKER_03: I guess it is I say this as somebody who's with more of a stereotypically masculine man that if I called him bitch, he'd be like, What?
10:50
SPEAKER_01: No, we we queen out together.
10:52
SPEAKER_03: I think that's a lot of fun.
10:54
SPEAKER_01: I love that.
10:55
SPEAKER_01: We have a good time, and that is a testament to the longevity of our relationship.
10:58
SPEAKER_03: Don't be afraid to be a sissy.
11:00
SPEAKER_01: Be who you are for your pride.
11:07
SPEAKER_01: Today we're joined by a new heavenly thoughty.
11:09
SPEAKER_01: We have Beaucius here today.
11:11
SPEAKER_01: Hi guy.
11:12
SPEAKER_01: Hi, Beautius.
11:14
SPEAKER_00: So happy to be here.
11:15
SPEAKER_01: Happy to have you.
11:16
SPEAKER_01: So tell us, what does pride mean to you?
11:19
SPEAKER_00: Well, what does pride mean to be?
11:22
SPEAKER_00: Um, I could be femme queen all month.
11:25
SPEAKER_00: You know, I could be the drama.
11:27
SPEAKER_00: And it like everybody's the drama.
11:29
SPEAKER_00: It's just a time to show out.
11:31
SPEAKER_01: That's you all year.
11:32
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
11:33
SPEAKER_00: I could be a little dimmier, but I'm loud here and there.
11:38
SPEAKER_01: I mean, speaking of being loud, um, you're a New York girl down, no?
11:41
SPEAKER_01: Boots.
11:42
SPEAKER_01: Boots you're from.
11:43
SPEAKER_00: I worked here when I was nine.
11:44
SPEAKER_00: I'm originally from Dominican Republic.
11:48
SPEAKER_01: Ooh.
11:49
SPEAKER_01: You know.
11:50
SPEAKER_01: You've been doing a lot of content in Spanish too recently.
11:53
SPEAKER_00: I have.
11:54
SPEAKER_00: I have to let the girls know.
11:55
SPEAKER_01: I need to let the girls know.
11:56
SPEAKER_01: The girls forget.
11:58
SPEAKER_01: The thing is, if you do content in English, your whole audience becomes, oh, we understand English.
12:02
SPEAKER_01: That's great.
12:03
SPEAKER_01: You switch it up, engagement views go down.
12:07
SPEAKER_01: It's hard to be verse online.
12:10
SPEAKER_00: I feel like you have to have a different mentality though, because for me, I was very nervous at first, but it hit off right away.
12:15
SPEAKER_00: Like first video.
12:17
SPEAKER_00: Like they like ate it up quickly, you know?
12:20
SPEAKER_00: But also it's just like knowing what you're gonna give to people, I feel like.
12:24
SPEAKER_01: See, when are you doing content in Spanish?
12:26
SPEAKER_03: When?
12:27
SPEAKER_03: I've done a few videos, but it's like my Spanish is kind of broken, yeah.
12:32
SPEAKER_01: Half Puerto Rican.
12:33
SPEAKER_01: Wow.
12:33
SPEAKER_01: And also you st your undergrad was yeah, I was a Spanish major.
12:38
SPEAKER_03: Oh my god.
12:39
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, coming up as a doctor, I have to speak a lot of Spanish.
12:42
SPEAKER_01: So oh my god, yeah, I want to see it.
12:46
SPEAKER_01: The one issue, and I you can probably sound off on this, is I mean, like I speak Spanish, but I didn't study and like none of my degree stuff was done in Spanish.
12:55
SPEAKER_01: So the technical language behind like formulating and chemistry, I could not say it in Spanish.
12:58
SPEAKER_00: You know, that's the same thing for me.
13:00
SPEAKER_00: And you know, since I do beauty content, a lot of the times I'm like, oh wait, like I have to look up the word I want to utilize, and then it sounds different.
13:06
SPEAKER_00: Like I just recently did a brand deal, and I was gonna say um cakey, and then the word was acartonado, and I'm like, oh my god, this sounds so odd.
13:16
SPEAKER_01: Well, the thing is, I've watched some of your like more recent like Spanish content, and I'm like, I did not know that was the word for that.
13:22
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but I didn't know either.
13:22
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, oh my god, but and you know, a lot of the time I feel like also moving from another country and coming to the US, like as I learned English, um, I learned a lot of new words I didn't know in Spanish.
13:34
SPEAKER_00: So it's like, oh my god, I feel like I have to go back.
13:36
SPEAKER_00: But that's why I had a teacher in middle school, and she used to always tell me you still have to read Spanish books.
13:41
SPEAKER_00: And I didn't, but now maybe I should go back and read a little Spanish book, who knows?
13:45
SPEAKER_01: Re-educate the children.
13:47
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
13:48
SPEAKER_01: When it comes to you know that intersectionality of you are Dominican, but you live in the US and you are queer and trans, like how does that all overlap?
13:59
SPEAKER_01: And how have you really built your niche on your platform?
14:02
SPEAKER_01: Because your content, you have so many little viral sound bits and sound bites.
14:08
SPEAKER_01: Like, how did you think, like, you know what?
14:10
SPEAKER_01: This is beautious.
14:12
SPEAKER_00: You know, I one the first thing for me was I feel like there's a lot of stigma surrounding transgender women, especially transgender women of color.
14:20
SPEAKER_00: And I think that for me, I didn't want to fit in that box.
14:25
SPEAKER_00: For a long time, also, I even stopped talking about being trans for like a year because I felt like there was a repeated time where I had to utilize the term trans in a video, like in the writing or in the caption or something, in order for it to go viral.
14:38
SPEAKER_00: And it's like, girl, I'm not just trans.
14:40
SPEAKER_00: There's so much more to me.
14:41
SPEAKER_00: And I feel like that's when I switched up my content to be many different things, and like I switch it up, like one day I'll do makeup, one day I'm outside and I'm keying, and one day I'm talking Spanish and kicking too, and I'm not even talking about that.
14:50
SPEAKER_00: And then one day I want to say, oh, you know, it's a doll factory, kiki kiki, cacao, caco, you know, all of that.
14:55
SPEAKER_00: So I feel like for me, it's I thought more of like I'm taking control, like I control my narrative.
15:02
SPEAKER_00: Not only that, I think for me, I also wanted people to look at me and see me, not just that I'm trans.
15:10
SPEAKER_00: Like, I didn't want to just be another trans girl.
15:13
SPEAKER_00: I wanted to be, oh my god, buchous.
15:14
SPEAKER_01: Like you are buchous, and like that is a part of you, but you don't want to be tokenized for that.
15:19
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
15:19
SPEAKER_00: And this, you know what's funny?
15:20
SPEAKER_00: I still have followers, they still don't know.
15:22
SPEAKER_00: Like, don't meet me, they're like, wait.
15:23
SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, yeah, girl, like I've talked about it.
15:26
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, hello.
15:27
SPEAKER_00: And even like some guys too recognize me too, and I I know they don't know because it's just like, you I know deep down they're transphobic, and they just like just see me as like another girl online that yaps, and I'm like, oh.
15:40
SPEAKER_00: Like one time I was at a deli and I thought I was because I've been in crazy situations where people almost attacked me multiple times just because they knew I was trans, because I'm online.
15:49
SPEAKER_00: But for example, one time I was like literally about to get a deli sandwich, and a guy was like, oh my god, yo, yo, yo.
15:56
SPEAKER_00: And I'm thinking he, I'm about to have an oh nah moment.
15:58
SPEAKER_00: You know, when they'd be like, oh nah, you know, like it's New York City.
16:02
SPEAKER_00: But he was like, yo, like you lit online, like we gotta take a picture, yada yada, yada.
16:06
SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, I know deep down, if you would have known I was a doll, honey, you wouldn't want to beat me up just because I you you know I look good and you probably needed that.
16:14
SPEAKER_00: And you, you know, they get a little aggressive.
16:17
SPEAKER_00: But no, he didn't resort to violence.
16:18
SPEAKER_00: And I was very guyed and I was like, damn, I'm really traumatized, but also shows like I can only imagine for many other girls, they probably think the same way.
16:25
SPEAKER_00: Like they immediately think we're gonna have an aggressive or violent response because that's just how the society is right now.
16:30
SPEAKER_03: A thousand percent.
16:31
SPEAKER_03: I mean, I don't think a lot of people realize, like, yeah, being open and out and visible that like you're taking risks.
16:41
SPEAKER_03: And you know, I think that sometimes when people don't realize they're like, oh, like, why do you need pride?
16:47
SPEAKER_03: Like, everything's you know, should be equal and whatever, and what why not straight pride and this and that?
16:52
SPEAKER_03: It's like because things like that still happen, like, this is how people have to live their lives, just constantly like cautious, on edge, like something happens, you never know what's gonna go down.
17:02
SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, I almost got attacked going home on a strange theater one time, and it was crazy just because he was like, um, he was a you that b word from online that was born a man, and he was like six three.
17:14
SPEAKER_00: I haven't talked about it online.
17:15
SPEAKER_00: He was like six three, huge, probably 300 pounds, big, huge.
17:20
SPEAKER_00: And I was like, absolutely not, and I walked away and he started screaming at me, harassing me, and like everybody was like, Oh my god.
17:26
SPEAKER_00: And I had girls like recognizing me too, like, oh my god, like they gagged it with me.
17:29
SPEAKER_00: They're like, Oh my god, are you okay?
17:31
SPEAKER_00: And then I told some MTA workers and they just looked at him because they heard what he was saying, you know, and they didn't do anything.
17:37
SPEAKER_00: So I just called the cab.
17:38
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, girl, I'm gonna girl, I just want to be a regular girl down the street, like please, like I don't need the drama.
17:44
SPEAKER_00: And I even got recorded like um a couple weeks ago, walking down the street, and I just know he recognized me, he wanted five seconds.
17:51
SPEAKER_00: I hope he got his five seconds, but I got his video taken down.
17:54
SPEAKER_00: That's so weird.
17:55
SPEAKER_00: Um yeah, I always work my sets.
17:57
SPEAKER_01: But it's like also interesting that your content will essentially have such far reach where even outside of the immediate like queer community, it's like people just know you as beautiful, the online personality.
18:08
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
18:09
SPEAKER_01: Which I love.
18:10
SPEAKER_01: Like you get recognized a lot, probably.
18:11
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you're like a New York personality.
18:14
SPEAKER_00: I know what area though.
18:16
SPEAKER_00: Like, if it's uptown, if there's like a lot of cultured people, like yes, you know what I mean?
18:21
SPEAKER_00: But like, let's say if I go to Soho, not as much.
18:24
SPEAKER_00: Because I know my audience and I don't know what they're looking at.
18:27
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, very gentsy, black and brown.
18:31
SPEAKER_00: If I go to certain areas that said Lower East Tide, they don't know.
18:34
SPEAKER_00: Now, if I go more like Brooklyn, yeah.
18:37
SPEAKER_00: Or like if I go to the Bronx or Harlem or Washington Heights, it's like, oh girl, the doll's here, you know?
18:43
SPEAKER_00: And now, like that I do Spanish videos, now I have that Spanish audience.
18:46
SPEAKER_00: Like, I went from nobody knowing my team knowing me at the supermarket to more than you know, I'm like, oh shit.
18:53
SPEAKER_00: You know, it's the same thing, especially when it comes to like me being in Washington Heights.
18:57
SPEAKER_00: Like, they'll be like, uh oh, like they'll gag that it's me.
18:59
SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, babe, what's the gag?
19:00
SPEAKER_00: I'm from just from New York City.
19:01
SPEAKER_01: I went on record, I also gagged when I saw Beautius because I loved her content.
19:04
SPEAKER_01: We were at a Bioma event and I just got up to her and I'm like, I'm such a big fan.
19:08
SPEAKER_01: And we've been friends ever since.
19:09
SPEAKER_00: Yes.
19:10
SPEAKER_00: I love our chats too.
19:12
SPEAKER_00: And I love the energy.
19:13
SPEAKER_00: I'm a big energy person, you know?
19:15
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like that's how I really connect with people.
19:18
SPEAKER_00: You know, like I feel like if somebody makes you feel comfortable from a jump, that's amazing.
19:22
SPEAKER_00: Um, your gut will always tell you I'm very big on trusting your gut and really feeling these people energy and watching their mannerisms too.
19:30
SPEAKER_01: I mean, I'm a little person.
19:32
SPEAKER_01: I'm not gonna do anything to you.
19:33
SPEAKER_01: And I'm so nice, but some of the energy at these events rotted.
19:38
SPEAKER_01: Nasty.
19:40
SPEAKER_00: Very standoff ish, like, but that's why baby, I'm Beyonce too.
19:45
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'd be, I'd be yeah, hi, what's up, what's up?
19:48
SPEAKER_00: And I also like have you ever been in that event and some you could tell somebody wants to say hi, but they don't they don't want to seem like a fan or like I'm like, girl, hello, hi, how are you?
19:59
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, yeah, like I feel like if I live for you, I'm gonna let you know.
20:03
SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
20:04
SPEAKER_00: Like, hi, what's the T I live for what you do?
20:05
SPEAKER_00: Yes, keep doing it.
20:06
SPEAKER_00: Because also you never know.
20:08
SPEAKER_00: If somebody probably needed to hear that, there's times where I'm having a bad day, and like I meet somebody outside, I'm like, oh my god, girl, you get you got me out of a hole just with your videos.
20:16
SPEAKER_00: Fad.
20:16
SPEAKER_00: That's like I could have been having a bad day, and I'm like, oh my God, I really did that for somebody, you know.
20:21
SPEAKER_01: For me, it's when they don't care about you until they see that you have a following and they're like, Oh, okay, you're important then.
20:26
SPEAKER_01: Tired of that.
20:28
SPEAKER_00: Mind you, you have a bigger following than most people in that room, anyways.
20:32
SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
20:33
SPEAKER_00: I have imposter syndrome, it'd be bad.
20:36
SPEAKER_00: Like you'd be having to like come back to me.
20:39
SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
20:40
SPEAKER_00: Like, I guess because I'm I'm very ambitious and I think of there's more work to do all the time.
20:48
SPEAKER_00: Even when I do something like grand, even when I did my first shoot, like I like after I got home, I was like, oh okay.
20:54
SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't know why, but I think of okay, what's next?
20:57
SPEAKER_00: You know?
20:58
SPEAKER_00: It can be healthy and unhealthy at the same time, you know.
21:00
SPEAKER_00: But then sometimes, like, I remember I was at a coffee shop with my sister, and somebody I really admired that was an artist was like, I would love to work with you.
21:07
SPEAKER_00: I started crying and I was like, oh my god, wait, I'm really we, but like I I feel like it's also a little good for me too, because I would never want to change who I am.
21:15
SPEAKER_00: And a lot of people always think when you have a following and when you have like a voice and impact, people tend to change.
21:22
SPEAKER_00: But I feel like mostly people around you change.
21:25
SPEAKER_00: But for me, I always want to have the heart that I have.
21:27
SPEAKER_00: I don't want my heart to change, you know what I mean?
21:29
SPEAKER_00: Um don't get lost in the sauce.
21:32
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
21:33
SPEAKER_00: Cause, and also there was a time last year where I forgot why I was doing it in a way.
21:38
SPEAKER_00: And I I've talked about it before where I feel like, oh my god, I didn't do a vision board, and I feel like I lost that image of what I wanted to not only do for myself, but for people and for other trans women.
21:47
SPEAKER_00: You know, I'm really big on thinking about community.
21:49
SPEAKER_00: Community is very important to me, and I really want people to see themselves in me and know that they can do it, you know?
21:56
SPEAKER_00: And I've met a lot of uh women in my community and They feel like they can only be great if they do this.
22:03
SPEAKER_00: And I just want everybody to know that you're you can do whatever you want to do, and you just gotta put your best foot forward, and nobody has to tell you what to do.
22:12
SPEAKER_00: You gotta just do it, you know?
22:13
SPEAKER_00: Very big on that.
22:14
SPEAKER_00: Maybe step outside, step into the light, you know, very that.
22:19
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
22:19
SPEAKER_01: I love that.
22:20
SPEAKER_01: So that being said, and like with that intention and what you do now, was that why you started doing content, or what was the transition to get you into being a content creator?
22:28
SPEAKER_00: Well, I feel like I always wanted to be a star, you know?
22:33
SPEAKER_00: I I'm very like for me, I want to be the bitch on the mood board.
22:38
SPEAKER_00: You know, I need to be the bitch on the map.
22:40
SPEAKER_00: You know, I need to be the girl that they're like, we're about to do X, Y, and C and my picture is there so they could look and be like, this is what I want to do.
22:47
SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
22:47
SPEAKER_00: Or this is if you can see yourself in me and you could believe you you can be great, then I feel like my job is done.
22:54
SPEAKER_00: If I can push a person to believe themselves and then they become grand, even if they become greater than me, like I will be so happy, like, oh my god, like I'm I'm happy, like to hear that I helped you get there with just maybe a 60-second video, like that's sickening.
23:07
SPEAKER_00: I'm really big on spreading positivity and really uplifting people, you know, because you never know what anybody's going to and you going through, and you never know how that can change your own life, you know what I mean?
23:17
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
23:18
SPEAKER_00: Especially even like meeting, like, let's say I've met a couple celebrities that they told me name drop.
23:26
SPEAKER_00: No.
23:30
SPEAKER_00: But they've told me, like, oh my god, girl, I love it.
23:33
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, you love me?
23:35
unknown: Me?
23:36
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
23:37
SPEAKER_00: Like, and I also met like a person that I've never thought I would meet that I can't say that changed my life.
23:44
SPEAKER_00: Like that, I feel like that time I didn't have imposters.
23:47
SPEAKER_00: I was like, damn, I'm really me.
23:48
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I feel like that was the wow moment for me.
23:50
SPEAKER_00: Just meeting a certain individual that I really looked up to since my teenage years.
23:55
SPEAKER_00: Probably a little prior too.
23:56
SPEAKER_00: Like, it was, yeah, like that person changed my life.
23:59
SPEAKER_00: And I like the fact that we met, hugged, and they showed me they liked me, it was crazy to me.
24:07
SPEAKER_00: You know?
24:08
SPEAKER_00: Think about it like this.
24:08
SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna make an example.
24:09
SPEAKER_00: Not Beyonce, but like it's like a Beyonce said, girl, I live for you.
24:12
SPEAKER_01: So it was Beyonce.
24:13
SPEAKER_03: So it was Beyonce.
24:15
SPEAKER_00: Not yet.
24:15
SPEAKER_00: I need a me mother.
24:17
SPEAKER_03: It's so funny, like putting together everything that you're saying, and like we have small followings of our own, but you know, um, I feel like we almost when people encounter us in public, they don't realize it's like we're not like celebrities or like traditional, like what you would think of as like A-listers.
24:36
SPEAKER_03: Maybe they consume a lot of our content, but it's like some places you could walk down the street and nobody knows who the hell you are.
24:42
SPEAKER_03: And then other places it's like, I feel like we're NPCs in people's lives.
24:46
SPEAKER_03: They're like, oh my god, what are you doing here?
24:49
SPEAKER_03: But also, yeah, definitely having that moment of realizing how big your reach is.
24:55
SPEAKER_03: Um, recently, yeah, like I I did an ad with somebody who's like very like A-list, and like they walk in the room, they're like, I love your stuff.
25:05
SPEAKER_03: Oh my god.
25:05
SPEAKER_03: I'm like, Oh, do you know who I am?
25:07
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's like a mind-blowing moment.
25:09
SPEAKER_00: But that's why I'm gonna stop with right there.
25:11
SPEAKER_00: You said you guys have a small following.
25:13
SPEAKER_00: You have a following.
25:14
SPEAKER_03: Okay, thank you.
25:15
SPEAKER_00: You have a following.
25:16
SPEAKER_00: You you move people.
25:18
SPEAKER_00: You might not think that way, but you do, you know what I mean?
25:21
SPEAKER_00: Do you have impact no matter how big or small?
25:23
SPEAKER_00: Like, I always think about like my first first collaboration.
25:27
SPEAKER_00: I had 19.something K on TikTok and 5k on Instagram, and I worked with Olaplex, and I was like, egg.
25:34
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, hello, how did we get here?
25:38
SPEAKER_00: But you know, I also applying yourself, like I almost I used to make four to six videos a day for like a year or two.
25:45
SPEAKER_00: Just recording every day, like me walking to gym, me doing this, me yapping, me keying and talking crap about who, whatever, you know.
25:52
SPEAKER_00: I had a voice then, and what difference does it make with me having a like a bigger audience now?
25:57
SPEAKER_03: I think it it goes to show, like, even in the beginning, for some people, it's easy to get uh discouraged, but it's like just because your reach isn't the biggest doesn't mean that it's not like deep for the people that are there.
26:10
SPEAKER_03: And I think one thing that is kind of highlighted from what you're saying is like a lot of people will tell you, Oh, if you want to be a content creator, you gotta niche down, you gotta be about one topic, you gotta like, and basically if you follow that advice a little bit too much, it sort of like beats the personality out of you.
26:30
SPEAKER_03: So, like, you know, you were saying, Oh, I don't want to just be seen as a trans creator.
26:36
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I think a lot of your stuff that comes across my for you page is like funny or like social commentary or makeup.
26:42
SPEAKER_03: It's like you as a person aren't just one thing.
26:46
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
26:46
SPEAKER_03: So why does your presence have to be that, right?
26:49
SPEAKER_00: No, a hundred percent.
26:50
SPEAKER_00: Like, there's so much more to everybody, you know what I mean?
26:53
SPEAKER_00: Like, there's a lot, I mean, we've spoken before we started filming, there's a lot more that people still don't know about me or whatever.
26:59
SPEAKER_00: Like, for example, like a lot of people don't know I have a background in art.
27:02
SPEAKER_00: Like, I used to paint as a kid and draw, and I my major was art in high school and from sculptures, paintings, like I had I had a room full of self-portraits, like my teenage years, like pre-transition.
27:14
SPEAKER_00: Like, do you never do just never know?
27:16
SPEAKER_00: And like that's something that I could probably dive into if I ever go back.
27:19
SPEAKER_00: I've never did it after transitioning, like I haven't like touched a paintbrush, like it's just stood with makeup.
27:25
SPEAKER_00: I don't know, because I feel like at the time when I was a teenager, also, this is where the yapper goes.
27:31
SPEAKER_00: I used to make really unique pieces based on like what I was experiencing.
27:35
SPEAKER_00: Because it was, you know, when you're a teenager, that's like your um crazy era where you're a little depressed.
27:40
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but then I made some cool stuff that I look back and I'm like, oh my god, I really did that.
27:43
SPEAKER_00: Like one time I was really angry.
27:45
SPEAKER_00: I was going through a breakup and I painted like a self-portrait, like headshot, and I was painting myself in red.
27:50
SPEAKER_00: And it's it to me, I'm like, oh my god, like this is so symbolic.
27:53
SPEAKER_00: I never thought about it at the time.
27:54
SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, I put myself in red because I was so angry.
27:57
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like get into the plot.
27:58
SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
27:59
SPEAKER_00: I feel like I will have to touch certain feelings.
28:01
SPEAKER_00: I don't know if I'm ready to revisit.
28:03
SPEAKER_00: Oh you know, yeah.
28:05
SPEAKER_00: A little avoiding.
28:06
SPEAKER_03: Do you feel like there's um like a certain line that you will not like bring your audience past?
28:14
SPEAKER_03: Like, are there certain things that you feel like are only for you and not for the public?
28:19
SPEAKER_00: 100%.
28:20
SPEAKER_00: Having a good balance of privacy is really healthy for a person because this part of my life is mine.
28:27
SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
28:28
SPEAKER_00: And you cherish it more, you know what I mean?
28:31
SPEAKER_00: Like, I feel like my day-to-day, like I like vlogging, but like I don't want to show you my day to day.
28:37
SPEAKER_00: Like day in my life, I could show you a day in my life if I go out and stuff like that, but like that's not my everyday.
28:42
SPEAKER_00: I do it, but like, you know, I feel like my everyday routine and also like certain things about like what I like to certain things I like to do for myself.
28:52
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, I don't know if I will be comfortable knowing this because also that's why I even have my nickname, because I just certain parts have to say for me and those people that are close to me that have that personal relationship, you know, because you will only know what I put in the four corners, honey.
29:10
SPEAKER_00: You know?
29:11
SPEAKER_00: That's it.
29:12
SPEAKER_00: You know, I control what you know because a lot of people create that parasocial relationship, which is great.
29:18
SPEAKER_00: You know, we do have that relationship, but we have that relationship.
29:21
SPEAKER_00: Don't get it twisted.
29:22
SPEAKER_00: Okay, still boundaries, especially when, like, for example, like I've met people and it's no shit, like they've hugged me without asking.
29:28
SPEAKER_00: It's funny because my love language is physical touch, but I don't like touching people that don't that I don't know.
29:31
SPEAKER_00: If I don't know, you don't touch me, you know.
29:33
SPEAKER_00: But I love like, oh my god, hi, you know, like we hugged, like, yeah, like I love your energy and stuff like that, yes.
29:39
SPEAKER_00: And people have asked that I've met them that same day, and I'm like, oh my god, yes, of course, when I'm in that energy, but then I have my other side where it's like I don't like touching people, don't touch me, you know?
29:47
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so it's just like that line.
29:49
SPEAKER_03: People shouldn't be so comfortable too.
29:51
SPEAKER_03: I think touching, like asking is great, like consent, but yeah.
29:58
SPEAKER_00: Which I appreciate so much for the people that have, yeah.
30:01
SPEAKER_00: And sometimes I'm like, oh my god, I want to hug you.
30:04
SPEAKER_00: Love your energy, yes, you know, but it's different.
30:07
SPEAKER_00: I feel like majority of the time for me, I have a weird thing with men that I meet.
30:12
SPEAKER_00: Like, if you're not a queen, uh hi, how are you doing?
30:16
SPEAKER_00: Hand, you know, five feet six actually, thinks, you know, like that's sweet social distance, yeah.
30:24
SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
30:25
SPEAKER_01: So we talked about you being an inspiration for you know the young kids.
30:30
SPEAKER_01: Who was your inspiration?
30:32
SPEAKER_01: Who did you look up to, Beyonce?
30:35
SPEAKER_00: Damn, I don't know.
30:37
SPEAKER_00: Like, I I loved musical artists when I was younger.
30:40
SPEAKER_00: Like, I grew up on like say who was on your mood board?
30:44
SPEAKER_00: My mood board?
30:45
SPEAKER_00: Wait, I gotta really think how to prepare for this.
30:47
SPEAKER_00: Um, well, I loved Beyonce since I was a kid.
30:50
SPEAKER_00: Beyonce, she's just the best and perfectionists.
30:55
SPEAKER_00: Like, don't we all want to be perfectionists and put out things that are great?
30:59
SPEAKER_00: I grew up a lot on Shakira because I love to dance as a kid.
31:02
SPEAKER_00: Um I was in Latin America, so J Lo was the girl too.
31:06
SPEAKER_00: Like, I was dancing to On the Floor in my house on the floor.
31:09
SPEAKER_00: You know, like I was giving that.
31:11
SPEAKER_00: And I was moving my hips like Shakira and things like that.
31:14
SPEAKER_00: Um Brianna too, like I think a musical artist, I feel like they were the epitome at the time, but also telenovelas too.
31:20
SPEAKER_00: I love telenovelas, love watching like the messy girls.
31:24
SPEAKER_00: Like, I love sitting in the different room like late at night when my mom watched novelas.
31:27
SPEAKER_00: She'll be like, go to the room, like, honey, no, let me see what the drama is.
31:31
SPEAKER_00: Yes.
31:32
SPEAKER_01: No, it's funny how like the the queer Latina childhood is a very universal experience.
31:37
SPEAKER_01: Shakira was like my first album I ever bought.
31:40
SPEAKER_01: Really?
31:41
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, the donde están los ladrones, that album.
31:44
SPEAKER_01: That album.
31:45
SPEAKER_01: Um, obviously J-Lo, but I was Puerto Rican from the US.
31:49
SPEAKER_01: My mom was from New York too, so she was J-Lo in her head.
31:53
SPEAKER_01: Mariah Carey too.
31:56
SPEAKER_01: Love.
31:56
SPEAKER_01: She was a lamb.
31:57
SPEAKER_01: I'm a lamb.
31:58
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
31:59
SPEAKER_00: Mother, yeah, that's the Queen of Christmas.
32:01
SPEAKER_01: So you do a lot of things when it comes to your social content.
32:05
SPEAKER_01: And you touch on a lot of things.
32:06
SPEAKER_01: And for me, it's just the authenticity of who you are, like how you share that.
32:09
SPEAKER_01: But realistically, you dove in the beauty space, you have an artistic background.
32:13
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
32:14
SPEAKER_01: You are an advocate.
32:15
SPEAKER_01: Where do you see the future for Beautious?
32:18
SPEAKER_00: A lot of people ask me makeup brand.
32:20
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, I don't know if I'm there yet.
32:22
SPEAKER_00: Maybe we'll see when where I am, where when I get to where I want to get with social media, if that's a possibility.
32:29
SPEAKER_00: But you know what's funny?
32:30
SPEAKER_00: A lot of the when I used to work in beauty stores and stuff like that, we used to always say, especially to like my leaders, like, I would really love to work with product development because I love we did talk about this.
32:42
SPEAKER_00: We talked about this, you remember?
32:43
SPEAKER_00: I know what the people want because as a makeup artist, you know, I've been doing makeup for seven, eight years.
32:48
SPEAKER_00: I think eight.
32:49
SPEAKER_00: I'm about to hit eight.
32:50
SPEAKER_00: Been doing this, I've been mugging for a minute.
32:53
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
32:53
SPEAKER_00: This was like a 25-minute beat, okay?
32:56
SPEAKER_00: Like, I have met so many different types of women.
33:00
SPEAKER_00: I feel like I could tell you, if you show me a person, I could tell you how they want their makeup, what kind of makeups they will buy, and all that.
33:06
SPEAKER_00: Because like I was a great salesperson too.
33:08
SPEAKER_00: Like working in sales, I'm like, I will see a person, I'm like, I know exactly what you need.
33:12
SPEAKER_00: I can look at a person, based on how you speak and what you're wearing, I know exactly what you want.
33:17
SPEAKER_00: I know the girl you are, I know what music you listen to, and I know exactly what like I remember when I worked for a certain makeup brand, a girl will come and I'm like, oh baby, I got you.
33:25
SPEAKER_00: She's like, oh, like I just need this.
33:26
SPEAKER_00: I'm not oh, we're gonna do your whole face, and I will do the whole face, and then we'll go from buying one product to five to almost 10.
33:33
SPEAKER_00: Because they're like, oh, I need to do this every day, and I'll show I'm gonna show you how to do it, how to apply it, and what is it gonna do for you, or whatever.
33:40
SPEAKER_00: And even if I had to showcase another makeup brand, like, hey, I see you have big pores like me, I'm gonna show you Milk's poreless eclipse pore eclipse primer.
33:47
SPEAKER_00: You could use this yada yada yada.
33:49
SPEAKER_00: Um, if you want to glow or whatever, I could also do um Vanessa Marik's, the universal, the hydrating balm, really good love.
34:01
SPEAKER_00: She adds beautiful glow.
34:02
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like I would just know.
34:04
SPEAKER_00: And I also like I know how color looks on certain lights, especially when it comes to bronzer and contour.
34:11
SPEAKER_00: There's so much discourse about that, and like brands still don't get it.
34:13
SPEAKER_00: And I hope y'all can get it one day, please.
34:16
SPEAKER_00: You know, like y'all got my girl Gloria working work over time.
34:21
SPEAKER_00: Mother, by the way, love her.
34:23
SPEAKER_00: Even when it comes to payoff and things like that, or like even when it comes to eyeshadow palettes, like have you seen like when girls buy eyeshadow palettes and there's stuff they don't touch?
34:32
SPEAKER_00: It's because baby, you're trying to get to everybody.
34:34
SPEAKER_00: When you do something for a certain demographic of people and you know exactly who that client is, it's gonna eat for that certain amount of people.
34:41
SPEAKER_00: I hate when people try to say, like, I hate when certain brands make things this is for everyone.
34:46
SPEAKER_00: That is not gonna be for everyone.
34:48
SPEAKER_00: It's not.
34:49
SPEAKER_00: Your hydrating foundation won't be for everyone, it will be for the girl that wants glow.
34:53
SPEAKER_00: It's for everyone.
34:54
SPEAKER_00: No, baby.
34:55
SPEAKER_00: Some people need that oil control.
34:56
SPEAKER_00: Maybe you could do an oil control primer for people that are oily and they could maybe throw that hydrating on top, but it's not for everyone.
35:03
SPEAKER_00: It's for the girls that want glow.
35:04
SPEAKER_00: And I've met girls like I've they'll have dry skin and they don't want glow too.
35:09
SPEAKER_00: So it's just like you gotta work with them, you know?
35:11
SPEAKER_00: And knowing all these things is how I'm like, oh my god, if I were to work in product development or even with a team when it comes to marketing or even creating something, I'm like, okay, who do you want to buy this?
35:23
SPEAKER_00: And then I'll tell you, you know?
35:24
SPEAKER_03: I think, yeah, that highlights something very important that I think a lot of consumers don't know.
35:28
SPEAKER_03: It's that these big brands usually start before even developing the product.
35:33
SPEAKER_03: They're like, who is the target consumer?
35:37
SPEAKER_03: And sometimes they even create like a character in their mind.
35:42
SPEAKER_03: They're like, okay, this is her name, this is how old she is, she lives here, and this is what kind of skin she has.
35:47
SPEAKER_03: And so we need to sell to her, and that's where what they start with.
35:52
SPEAKER_03: Um, not every brand does that, but what one of the things that you said that actually uh resonates with me quite a bit is like the education piece, and you know, you going in and saying, Okay, when I was a salesperson, I was teaching this person how to do everything with the five steps that I was sell selling them, and like they loved it.
36:13
SPEAKER_03: A lot of brands don't do enough of that sometimes.
36:16
SPEAKER_03: I think like they come out with a product and they're not providing the education for the consumer.
36:21
SPEAKER_03: So, in a way, that's why we're kind of stuck in this death spiral where it's like we just keep launching like fun new things and not giving people things that they know how to use or that they're gonna be satisfied with.
36:33
SPEAKER_00: No, yeah, 100%.
36:34
SPEAKER_01: So, brands Buchis for your product development, hire her.
36:38
SPEAKER_00: Yes, I wanna let's talk.
36:41
SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
36:42
SPEAKER_00: Like, I feel like also a lot of I feel like if a lot of brands were to connect with beauty advisors and brand reps and really have like that conversation, they will learn so much about who's actually buying your stuff.
36:55
SPEAKER_01: Another thing is to your point, you've been doing makeup for eight years and you wear boots on the ground boots at the house down at a salon, at the store you all go to, like all of that.
37:05
SPEAKER_01: And it's like having that FaceTime and that hands-on experience with the actual clientele who's buying the product, that is really who should have at least a little input as to what you then launch or how you develop in the future.
37:17
SPEAKER_00: No, yeah, 100%.
37:18
SPEAKER_00: It will be great for not only the brand, but also for the consumers because they're half they're having a hard time going in store.
37:24
SPEAKER_00: They are like they go there, ah, I want this, but I don't know what I want.
37:27
SPEAKER_00: Like they'll be like, I want a lip liner.
37:29
SPEAKER_00: It's overwhelming.
37:37
SPEAKER_00: One summer frida's came, babe, everybody dropping a lip balm.
37:40
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, everybody got a lip balm now.
37:42
SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
37:43
SPEAKER_01: That is like the easy skew to launch.
37:44
SPEAKER_01: We were just looking at um POV Beauty, Michaela just launched lips, and I don't know if it's like a lip balm, lipstick, or what, but it's uh lip and a liner.
37:53
SPEAKER_01: It's like a nudes, too, so like revolutionary.
37:55
SPEAKER_03: Well, I think part of it is, and I've heard this from brand owners, like um it's been shown that uh the that lip product kind of acts as like a gateway to the rest of the brand because it's usually the cheapest thing for most brands.
38:13
SPEAKER_03: And then um, you know, once somebody tries it, you know, their sales of other stuff goes up too because they're like, Oh, I liked this lip balm, which might be, I don't know, is that something that's easy to formulate?
38:25
SPEAKER_01: Lips-ish, but also it's one of the most subjective things that people will buy.
38:30
SPEAKER_01: It's in they they'll love the texture, they'll hate this, they'll love this, they'll hate that.
38:33
SPEAKER_01: So it's a very personal.
38:35
SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
38:36
SPEAKER_03: I don't think every brand needs to be doing a lip balm, lip butter, lip oil necessarily.
38:41
SPEAKER_03: It's like if you're not gonna innovate, what do you bring to the table?
38:44
SPEAKER_01: But we talk about all the time.
38:45
SPEAKER_01: It's just again, as I formulate and I do product development too, but it's like I see what brands do, and to Angela's point, it's like who is the target consumer for this?
38:54
SPEAKER_01: And how is that any different than what the 17 other brands are doing right now?
38:57
SPEAKER_00: No, yeah, where's the gap?
38:58
SPEAKER_00: And how are you filling that gap?
39:00
SPEAKER_00: What's gonna make you stand out?
39:01
SPEAKER_00: But I've heard backstage to you that sometimes when brands want certain things in store, the you know, the mothers and fathers of the situation are like, oh, we want to do this.
39:12
SPEAKER_00: So I feel like I don't know.
39:14
SPEAKER_00: Because I feel like a lot of the people with the big checks, and even when it comes to like developing something, like it takes some time.
39:20
SPEAKER_00: And I you know, I've even started thinking about maybe the the gap could be in when it comes to like the amount of money being invested in something because time is money.
39:28
SPEAKER_00: Sometimes to perfect something, there's time.
39:30
SPEAKER_00: You have to wait, you know?
39:32
SPEAKER_00: Like, have you heard when somebody's like, Oh, I would been working on this for five years?
39:35
SPEAKER_01: Angelo, how long did continuum take you?
39:37
SPEAKER_03: Uh yeah, so uh I developed a product with a brand uh that took it to us like a little over four years to develop this product.
39:46
SPEAKER_03: Um, but you know, I did it with like a small, like indie brand, so it's not like they were necessarily working with the same resources that a big conglomerate might have.
39:58
SPEAKER_03: But I definitely get what you're saying, like the retailers sort of pushing brands in a certain direction, talking about what they want on the shelf and uh kind of like skewing what people are getting.
40:09
SPEAKER_03: So I mean, you know, if everybody who goes to Ulta is picking up at least one lip product, then they're probably gonna be like, hey, we would love it if you launched a lip balm too.
40:20
SPEAKER_03: It's like, are you gonna turn down that order?
40:22
SPEAKER_00: I feel like for a brand owner, so also they gotta understand that vision.
40:24
SPEAKER_00: I feel like it's the same thing for me as a creator.
40:26
SPEAKER_00: When I work when I want to work for some with somebody, I'm like, okay, do you see me and do I see you?
40:31
SPEAKER_00: It has to be a mutual, linear, yeah, you know, direction.
40:35
SPEAKER_00: If not, it's just gonna, you're just gonna be doing like you're not gonna be a trench setter.
40:39
SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
40:39
SPEAKER_00: Something I loved about Road is just like she kind of did her own thing.
40:44
SPEAKER_00: Like that live buff stuff really like made it hot for her.
40:47
SPEAKER_00: And like the peptide, even though there was peptide before, um, maybe it was because people wanted to be her because you know how it is with certain like audiences, like that's different.
40:56
SPEAKER_00: But for brands that don't have the somebody that's the face of the brand, it's like, how are you actually gonna connect with those people you want to connect with, you know?
41:04
SPEAKER_00: And do they see your vision?
41:06
SPEAKER_00: And do you see the vision that the of what they need?
41:08
SPEAKER_00: You know, things like that.
41:10
SPEAKER_03: We also we had a uh another chemist on our uh podcast in the past who said that yeah, everybody wants innovation, but nobody wants to wait.
41:19
SPEAKER_03: So, to your point about things taking time and like not rushing it to the market and not just giving the retailer what they want, people uh to quote Gloria need to get back in the lab.
41:30
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I love her.
41:32
SPEAKER_00: She sends everybody back to the lab, but that's fab.
41:34
SPEAKER_00: I love everything to do.
41:37
SPEAKER_00: I just stay there.
41:38
SPEAKER_00: I just stay there.
41:40
SPEAKER_00: Love that.
41:41
SPEAKER_01: So, I mean, you got a lot to say and you got a lot of opinions, and you touch a lot of products.
41:45
SPEAKER_01: Where what do you see that is like really innovative, very fun, really hot right now?
41:50
SPEAKER_01: Give us the Buchus opinion.
41:52
SPEAKER_00: What's hot right now?
41:54
SPEAKER_00: Well, you gotta get you gotta break it down for me.
41:56
SPEAKER_00: Like, what in what, in what, like, it's the skincare, it's in makeup, wearing makeup, because there's so much.
42:01
SPEAKER_01: Complexion.
42:02
SPEAKER_00: Complexion?
42:03
SPEAKER_01: Picture it, we're in a Sephora, and I'm like, Beautius, what's cute?
42:05
SPEAKER_01: What's hot, what's innovative and foot?
42:07
SPEAKER_01: What's hot?
42:08
SPEAKER_01: Walk me around.
42:09
SPEAKER_00: Damn, I don't know.
42:10
SPEAKER_00: I got a basket.
42:10
SPEAKER_00: I don't know how to do it.
42:13
SPEAKER_03: There's all these like reformulated foundations now.
42:17
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
42:17
SPEAKER_00: There's been a lot of you know something I tried recently, not gonna lie, that's um new rare beauty foundation, the matte one.
42:23
SPEAKER_00: Cute, love her.
42:24
SPEAKER_00: Now I'm wearing her today.
42:24
SPEAKER_00: Today I'm doing the Nissan Amirex skin tint fab, the yummy skin love, because I'm like, I want to be a little dewy, but I'm like, I've been going back and forth with that rare beauty.
42:33
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, wait, hold on.
42:34
SPEAKER_00: I like how she looks on me.
42:36
SPEAKER_00: She was cute.
42:37
SPEAKER_00: Uh when it came to maybe off how hydrating side, I loved high light reflecting, but I always say, NARS, sheer glow was mother.
42:48
SPEAKER_00: Sheer, I remember when I bought it.
42:50
SPEAKER_00: Like, I bought it in blue mercury literally a few years ago.
42:53
SPEAKER_00: Like, and I was like, she's gone.
42:55
SPEAKER_00: Like it broke my heart.
42:56
SPEAKER_01: Wait, they discontinued it?
42:58
SPEAKER_00: Where where is she, honey?
43:00
SPEAKER_03: They're probably reformulating like everything.
43:02
SPEAKER_00: Now we have light reflecting, but sheer glow was just perfect for me.
43:06
SPEAKER_00: But I love light reflecting though.
43:07
SPEAKER_00: Like, that's like whenever I'm when I'm gonna take photos.
43:10
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, I need to do her.
43:11
SPEAKER_00: Like, if I go to a brain event.
43:12
SPEAKER_00: You know what else I think was um really cool too?
43:15
SPEAKER_00: Um, that Huda mat foundation.
43:18
SPEAKER_00: I didn't look at all me, but I listened on other people.
43:20
SPEAKER_00: The one that it has the primer, like the filter one.
43:23
SPEAKER_03: That was so controversial.
43:24
SPEAKER_00: Really?
43:25
SPEAKER_03: People were saying it was making them break out because of the niacinamide or something.
43:29
SPEAKER_00: I have big pores in my T zone.
43:31
SPEAKER_00: To me, it was sickening.
43:32
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, okay, she mothered.
43:34
SPEAKER_00: Smooth.
43:34
SPEAKER_00: But I didn't have like the perfect mats.
43:36
SPEAKER_00: But for me, at the same time, I usually have to go mix colors because I'm like olive peach, and it's like and then it'll be like olive peach neutral.
43:45
SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, oh my god.
43:47
SPEAKER_00: I have to keep like but also again, I'm very picky because I used to paint.
43:51
SPEAKER_00: So it's just like when it comes to doing the face, I'm like, I need to make sure the tones, when the light hits it, everything's balanced, you know?
43:58
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, especially, I mean To her point now, look at her body out.
44:02
SPEAKER_01: You need that face and that body to be a consistent color team.
44:06
SPEAKER_00: That's why when I will color match people in the store, I would be like, Are you gonna wear an open top?
44:10
SPEAKER_00: Because, honey, that chest and that face needs to be one color.
44:13
SPEAKER_00: Oh, but your neck is darker.
44:14
SPEAKER_00: Okay, let's correct that.
44:16
SPEAKER_00: And then do the foundation, it'll be all one color.
44:17
SPEAKER_00: And then bronze up, honey, you don't want to look like a ghost.
44:21
SPEAKER_00: So you gotta play around, you know.
44:23
SPEAKER_03: People try to call me out online when I'm like not wearing any makeup or anything, because they're like, I you need to blend your foundation into your neck.
44:31
SPEAKER_03: I'm like, my neck is just a different color than my face.
44:34
SPEAKER_03: Like, and that's how it is for a lot of people, and that's normal, but yeah, you really need to be mindful of it.
44:39
SPEAKER_00: Maybe when I do my face, I use four concealers three to four every time.
44:42
SPEAKER_03: Really?
44:43
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, for different areas.
44:44
SPEAKER_00: Maybe I'm mixing the olive and deep peach under doing some hair, and then I'll go with the middle shade and the T-stone area, and then the nails, and then I'll do the really bright shade under the eye.
44:57
SPEAKER_00: Like I gotta play around, you know?
44:59
SPEAKER_03: Well, that's artistry.
45:00
SPEAKER_00: I feel like I'm like, if not, I'm just gonna look weird.
45:04
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm gonna look weird.
45:06
SPEAKER_00: And then if I don't contour, I'm gonna look bare and I'm gonna look puffy.
45:09
SPEAKER_03: Is there anything on the market right now that you feel like is really overrated?
45:14
SPEAKER_03: It doesn't need to be like a specific product, but like what lip lip balms lip balms?
45:21
SPEAKER_00: Please, we don't need any more.
45:23
SPEAKER_01: That being said, if we could get abuse lip balm, how do you feel?
45:28
SPEAKER_01: Theoretical.
45:29
SPEAKER_01: How do you feel you could innovate in that space?
45:30
SPEAKER_01: Or like where is that that hole that you're like that needs to be?
45:33
SPEAKER_00: Not gonna lie, a lot of people need to exfoliate the lip.
45:36
SPEAKER_00: Y'all trying to cover up the crusties.
45:39
SPEAKER_00: I will I will probably do like a lip scrub so then the lip could look fab, you know?
45:44
SPEAKER_00: Like I loved a lip scrub when I first started working um in beauty and I was like doing skincare, I'm like, I love lip scrubs.
45:51
SPEAKER_00: I think exfoliating is really important.
45:53
SPEAKER_00: I like I don't really think about the lips that much.
45:54
SPEAKER_00: I'm like lips products, it's just there's so much, like it's not that hard.
45:58
SPEAKER_00: You know, I remember when I was had to sell one to somebody and I would go around the whole store and I'm like, babe, you're gonna make me go crazy.
46:04
SPEAKER_00: I have more than a hundred brands here.
46:06
SPEAKER_00: Pick something.
46:07
SPEAKER_00: They're all gonna do the same.
46:08
SPEAKER_00: It might look a little different, but they're all gonna do the same thing.
46:11
SPEAKER_00: I will say though, Topicals lip balm I love because it has that minty feel.
46:14
SPEAKER_00: For me, it helps in the wintertime for that frostbite.
46:17
SPEAKER_00: Like when you know when it's cold and your lip is like, ooh.
46:19
SPEAKER_01: Okay, I feel that.
46:20
SPEAKER_01: That being said, texturally, it reminds me it's like a half a degree separation from like you know that original MAC lip gloss where it's like thick and it's like sticky.
46:29
SPEAKER_01: Topicals to me.
46:30
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
46:30
SPEAKER_01: I have a little bit on.
46:32
SPEAKER_01: But you know how the whole point of that is like a super editorial, so it's like it's for photo, it's not for actual function unless you're buchess.
46:39
SPEAKER_01: Um topicals to me is very similar to that.
46:42
SPEAKER_01: Like, that is a lip mask to me.
46:43
SPEAKER_01: I would not actually wear that one about.
46:45
SPEAKER_00: No, I do.
46:45
SPEAKER_00: She's she mothers.
46:47
SPEAKER_00: I love her, and I always lose it.
46:49
SPEAKER_00: Not have the tinted ones, but I'm like the clear one.
46:51
SPEAKER_00: I always lose it.
46:52
SPEAKER_00: I have like three.
46:53
SPEAKER_00: I love them.
46:54
SPEAKER_00: One in a cat.
46:55
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, why are they trying to make me break up with her?
46:57
SPEAKER_00: I love her.
46:57
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm a topic's girly.
46:59
SPEAKER_00: Love her.
47:00
SPEAKER_00: I need a girl, man.
47:01
SPEAKER_03: I have like 400 lip balms, but I can never find one when I'm looking for it.
47:06
SPEAKER_00: I have five lip products in every bag.
47:08
SPEAKER_03: You never know what you're gonna need at the moment.
47:10
SPEAKER_00: You never know if I'm running out of the house, honey.
47:12
SPEAKER_00: Right now, in this bag, I have Mac, I have Tower 28, um, I have Bobby Brown.
47:17
SPEAKER_00: Um, and they are yeah.
47:19
SPEAKER_00: Let me think.
47:20
SPEAKER_00: She's not kidding.
47:20
SPEAKER_00: She pulled out the bag.
47:22
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like I could bring it.
47:24
SPEAKER_03: I almost feel like we should have you take out every makeup product in your see, no what?
47:28
SPEAKER_01: This is let's just do it.
47:29
SPEAKER_01: What's in your bag?
47:30
SPEAKER_01: Okay, let's look in your bag, go get it.
47:31
SPEAKER_00: You all want to go get it?
47:32
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, or he looked like it.
47:33
SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
47:34
SPEAKER_01: See, for me, I feel the same, but for me, I know where all my lip balms are and I have them cataloged.
47:39
SPEAKER_01: Nine times out of ten, they're gonna be in one of his jackets.
47:42
SPEAKER_01: Okay, yes, thank you.
47:43

53:30
SPEAKER_00: But I don't love liquid bronzer.
53:32
SPEAKER_00: Cause I mean liquid contour, correct me.
53:35
SPEAKER_00: Because liquid contour, I feel like it moves too much when you blit it out.
53:38
SPEAKER_00: And then I feel like I I'm I'm gonna be gray here or too high here.
53:41
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no.
53:42
SPEAKER_00: Um I could do more of a cream bronzer, love.

SPEAKER_00: And if I want to do cream bronzer, damn, what do Rare Beauty?
53:50
SPEAKER_00: I love cute.
53:51
SPEAKER_00: But then sometimes it goes a little too orange, but I love more of their powder bronzer, but then also Gucci.
53:57
SPEAKER_00: But then the shade range is not lovely.
54:00
SPEAKER_00: So I'm like, girl, that you know, let's work on that.
54:03
SPEAKER_00: But it's cute.
54:04
SPEAKER_00: Back in the lab.
54:04
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, back in the lab.
54:06
SPEAKER_00: Um, but yeah, rare beauty bronzer, not gonna lie.
54:11
SPEAKER_00: Love beauty bronzer, yeah, it was blush.
54:14
SPEAKER_00: Cream, liquid or powder, cream powder, cream powder, cream.
54:18
SPEAKER_00: I don't not gonna lie.
54:20
SPEAKER_00: I like Bobby Brown's stick.
54:22
SPEAKER_00: I'm using it right now.
54:23
SPEAKER_00: I love her.
54:23
SPEAKER_00: Like Bobby Brown.
54:24
SPEAKER_00: Bobby Brown?
54:25
SPEAKER_00: Bobby Brown has a stick, yeah.
54:26
SPEAKER_00: Blush stick.
54:27
SPEAKER_00: Love.
54:27
SPEAKER_00: No one talks about Bobby Brown.
54:28
SPEAKER_00: Um, if I were to do liquid rare beauty because it's like so high payoff color, but when it comes to powder, not gonna lie, I love Tower 28 and also MAC.
54:35
SPEAKER_00: Tower 28, though, is the pigment's lovely, beautiful.
54:38
SPEAKER_01: They have powder, powder blushes?
54:40
SPEAKER_00: Yes, tower 28.
54:41
SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
54:42
SPEAKER_00: I love them right now.
54:42
SPEAKER_00: I know they have the cream blushes, and those are really nice formula.
54:45
SPEAKER_00: Highlighter.
54:46
SPEAKER_00: Highlighter.
54:47
SPEAKER_00: Do you like highlighter?
54:49
SPEAKER_00: So I'm not wearing right now because I like that smooth, like, you know?
54:52
SPEAKER_00: But when I want to be BMB Shimway, I'm not gonna lie, Anastasia Bay really helps what happened to the loose highlighter.
54:57
SPEAKER_00: That was sickening, remember?
54:58
SPEAKER_01: Did you ever try Artist Couture?
55:00
SPEAKER_01: Remember MacDaddy's uh the loose uh highlighter brand?
55:03
SPEAKER_00: I don't know if I was allowed to wear makeup on that time.
55:05
SPEAKER_00: It was 20.
55:06
SPEAKER_00: I probably saw it.
55:07
SPEAKER_01: 2018.
55:08
SPEAKER_00: Not gonna lie, you know, um me and my friend used to go to Sephora after school, and then I went and um I will have them put highlighter on me with a huge brush.
55:16
SPEAKER_00: Like it was Fenty, like shh.
55:17
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
55:18
SPEAKER_00: We would do Fenty or we'd be like, and also a milk.
55:21
SPEAKER_00: And the remember the milk stamps?
55:23
SPEAKER_00: Was that when they had the big sticks?
55:25
SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah.
55:25
SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, shh.
55:26
SPEAKER_00: And then the stamps.
55:28
SPEAKER_00: Love.
55:28
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
55:29
SPEAKER_00: We will go, and she would even put highlighter on for me.
55:31
SPEAKER_00: She would just do some cheap brand, just we would take pictures like highlighters like the gateway makeup.
55:37
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
55:38
SPEAKER_01: Eyeshadow?
55:39
SPEAKER_01: You get one palette.
55:41
SPEAKER_00: Oh wait, I didn't say loose powder, hut of beauty, by the way.
55:43
SPEAKER_00: Love.
55:44
SPEAKER_00: Um, one palette, nude or color.
55:47
SPEAKER_00: You're going to the cute.
55:48
SPEAKER_00: You're going to the Caribbean.
55:49
SPEAKER_00: It's a beach, it's a beach vibe.
55:50
SPEAKER_00: You know what's funny?
55:51
SPEAKER_00: I've been liking the cream too.
55:53
SPEAKER_00: The cream shadows.
55:54
SPEAKER_00: Too much cream shadows.
55:56
SPEAKER_00: I've been really loving Bobby Brown.
55:59
SPEAKER_00: You were the first person I've heard of in like five years to talk anything about Bobby Brown.
56:02
SPEAKER_00: They send me stuff and I'm like, oh no shit, this is cute.
56:04
SPEAKER_00: And then they came up with the sparkling stuff.
56:06
SPEAKER_00: The moonlight one is sickening, you know.
56:08
SPEAKER_00: Um, but I've been loving the Nessa too.
56:11
SPEAKER_00: If not, if I'm if I want to be just like an artist, like if it's giving for the kit, like for me to do makeup as a videos, it has to be Master Mats.
56:18
SPEAKER_00: No shade.
56:18
SPEAKER_00: I gotta keep it real.
56:19
SPEAKER_00: You get one lip liner and one lip gloss.
56:21
SPEAKER_00: It has to be MAC for both.
56:24
SPEAKER_00: MAC.
56:24
SPEAKER_00: Lip liner MAC will never disappoint.
56:29
SPEAKER_00: You could go, you could have a night, she'll be on, honey.
56:31
SPEAKER_00: Especially if you do a little translucent powder on her, honey.
56:33
SPEAKER_00: Oh, baby, she's not budging.
56:34
SPEAKER_01: Ooh, that's a tip.
56:36
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
56:36
SPEAKER_00: I've never heard of that.
56:37
SPEAKER_00: So if you want your lip liner to last long, if you want your lip liner to really you do translucent powder before it remove all the moisture, then you add the lip liner, finish the whole lip combo, setting powder again.
56:48
SPEAKER_00: If you want it to last, be bulletproof, you don't do gloss.
56:52
SPEAKER_00: Well, don't do a lip oil.
56:53
SPEAKER_00: You could do a little gloss, but it's it won't have the same longevity, especially if you're gonna be eating or drinking.
56:57
SPEAKER_00: Or maybe I don't know, you just straw, be a lady.
57:00
SPEAKER_01: But like not if you're gonna pair something with the lip liner.
57:03
SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna lie, lip glass, don't budge.
57:04
SPEAKER_00: Because she stays, she's like a layer, like a you know?
57:07
SPEAKER_01: I like her.
57:08
SPEAKER_01: I'm going through your bag, you had so much Mac, and Mac is one of those other brands where I'm like, I feel like it fell out of favor, especially because you're so young.
57:15
SPEAKER_01: I feel like Mac was for even the generation above us.
57:17
SPEAKER_01: That was their brand.
57:19
SPEAKER_01: No, she was mother.
57:20
SPEAKER_01: Is Mac making a comeback?
57:21
SPEAKER_01: Is Mac hot again, or does Mac just have like those staple products?
57:25
SPEAKER_00: She's she's she's also mother of beauty.
57:27
SPEAKER_00: I think.
57:28
SPEAKER_00: Remember everybody back in the day, it was maybe the whole bag was Mac, but like my sis my cousin would do her makeup.
57:33
SPEAKER_00: She had all Mac stuff, foundation, the sealer, everything.
57:36
SPEAKER_00: So it's just like she's making her comeback.
57:38
SPEAKER_00: You know, the collabs have been cute.
57:40
SPEAKER_00: That lip liner tip, I've never heard that before.
57:42
SPEAKER_00: No, yeah.
57:42
SPEAKER_00: You've never heard that?
57:43
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you do translucent powder before, translucent powder after.
57:47
SPEAKER_00: It'll really stay like not gonna lie, that I when I was in sales, that's if somebody will be like, oh my god, I want the um transfer proof, and they will want like another brand or like a stand, I'm like, baby, no, I got you.
57:56
SPEAKER_00: You want the sickening color, and you put it, you get now they're getting the powder, the liner, and the lipstick.
58:01
SPEAKER_00: And that's how you build a basket.
58:02
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's how you build a basket.
58:04
SPEAKER_00: Um, setting spray.
58:05
SPEAKER_00: Setting spray.
58:06
SPEAKER_00: Do we well to melt the powder?
58:08
SPEAKER_00: I've been really loving um Rare Beauty.
58:10
SPEAKER_00: You get one.
58:11
SPEAKER_00: Um, if I want to one, you get one.
58:13
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
58:14
SPEAKER_00: Am I having a night or is it gonna I'm gonna just be pretty?
58:17
SPEAKER_00: Night.
58:17
SPEAKER_00: I have to do one size, no shade.
58:19
SPEAKER_00: But I don't like to be too matte.
58:22
SPEAKER_00: So maybe Infallible L'Oreal.
58:24
SPEAKER_01: Oh.
58:24
SPEAKER_00: The spray one?
58:25
SPEAKER_00: The red hair?
58:26
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
58:27
SPEAKER_00: No shade's really nice.
58:28
SPEAKER_00: Because she doesn't really it's not, it's it gives hairspray energy, but it's not like you know.
58:34
SPEAKER_00: Um, like I feel like one size is mother when you bought a make out and all of that, honey.
58:40
SPEAKER_00: You would have a night, aka Happy Pride, happy pride, guys.
58:46
SPEAKER_00: Um, is that all the steps?
58:48
SPEAKER_00: I think so.
58:49
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
58:50
SPEAKER_00: Mascara, honey.
58:51
SPEAKER_03: Mascara, yeah.
58:52
SPEAKER_00: Okay, so I'm not gonna lie, my ride or die, it's a mascara primer, and I love um Too Faced Born This Way foreplay.
58:58
SPEAKER_00: Because I like to curl my lashes, my lashes are super straight, and I'm like, babe, I need a she'll keep the curl.
59:03
SPEAKER_00: And then you could add any other one on top, it'll look good.
59:05
SPEAKER_00: If not, if I if I didn't have to curl, not gonna lie, lash class YSO, really.
59:10
SPEAKER_00: But I've been really in love with um rare beauty.
59:12
SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, you see, I can't pick one thing.
59:14
SPEAKER_00: I go insane with makeup.
59:15
SPEAKER_00: You're going back to rare a lot though.
59:17
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm a rare girl.
59:19
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, rare girl boots.
59:20
SPEAKER_00: Brow gel's my favorite too.
59:22
SPEAKER_00: Really?
59:22
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
59:23
SPEAKER_00: Oh, we didn't talk brows, what are you doing for brows?
59:25
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, brow gel, rare beauty.
59:26
SPEAKER_00: Not gonna lie.
59:26
SPEAKER_00: Uh if not, if it wasn't an option, not gonna lie, brow freeze gel.
59:30
SPEAKER_00: Not the pot, the actual the white one, sickening because she could give you that laminated and I'll stay all day.
59:35
SPEAKER_01: Use your natural brows, or do they or did you pencil?
59:37
SPEAKER_00: I put them in.
59:38
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
59:39
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I used the house laps um black pencil.
59:42
SPEAKER_00: I use black for my eyebrows because my hair is so dark.
59:44
SPEAKER_00: And I also like that fixing look.
59:46
SPEAKER_00: I need people to be a little afraid because I'm so pretty.
59:48
SPEAKER_00: You know?
59:49
SPEAKER_00: I need to intimidate you a little bit.
59:50
SPEAKER_00: I need you nervous.
59:51
SPEAKER_03: Like, we're scared right now.
59:53
SPEAKER_00: I mean a lot of people tell me I have a lot of Scorpio energy, but that's just my Venus sign.
59:57
SPEAKER_00: I'm actually a Libra.
59:58
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
59:58
SPEAKER_00: I'm not a fan of Libras, but I love me.
1:00:00
SPEAKER_00: And so do we.
1:00:01
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, thank you.
1:00:04
SPEAKER_00: Um, what do you so do you feel like you're characteristically a Libra?
1:00:08
SPEAKER_00: No, I have every element in my chart, so I'm a little bit of everything.
1:00:11
SPEAKER_00: I can switch it up.
1:00:12
SPEAKER_00: I have a Sag rising, that's why I talk like that and I act like that.
1:00:16
SPEAKER_00: Um, Cancer Moon, unfortunately, I'm sympathetic, hate that.
1:00:20
SPEAKER_00: Um, Libra Sun, Libra Mercury, that's why I get along with pretty much everybody.
1:00:25
SPEAKER_00: Uh but don't try me because I have a Virgo Mars, so I will hit you with the nitty-gritty.
1:00:28
SPEAKER_00: We might not fight, but I'm gonna hit you with a hurts, you know?
1:00:31
SPEAKER_00: Because Virgo's a perfectionist, so baby, if it's time for me to really, you know, put my foot in the fire, I'm coming, I'm going where it hurts.
1:00:37
SPEAKER_00: I'm going to the root.
1:00:40
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
1:00:41
SPEAKER_00: Venus and Scorpio, so I'm a little crazy.
1:00:43
SPEAKER_01: And are you single?
1:00:44
SPEAKER_00: Do you see a man around me?
1:00:46
SPEAKER_03: Just gay guys.
1:00:47
SPEAKER_03: No.
1:00:48
SPEAKER_03: Here.
1:00:50
SPEAKER_00: I'm single, and so you don't you see me with a man.
1:00:52
SPEAKER_00: If I have if I have a man on my arm, then I do.
1:00:55
SPEAKER_00: And if I don't, I don't.
1:00:56
SPEAKER_00: So you feel like every time I see you though, you do have a man on your arm, but it's also a twink.
1:00:59
SPEAKER_00: So yeah, like I'm I'm I love my community, no shade.
1:01:03
SPEAKER_00: And I love um trade butch queens.
1:01:05
SPEAKER_00: Like if you look tradey fat, I love a trade butch queen.
1:01:08
SPEAKER_00: Yes, be my arm candy candy babe.
1:01:10
SPEAKER_00: But when the trade comes, I'ma just be like, sister, sister, girl.
1:01:16
SPEAKER_00: It's girly girl.
1:01:17
SPEAKER_00: You're so tall and strong.
1:01:18
SPEAKER_00: Well, you're really girly.
1:01:21
SPEAKER_00: I gotta spook your teeth.
1:01:22
SPEAKER_00: You can mess up my side.
1:01:24
SPEAKER_00: What?
1:01:24
SPEAKER_00: But then it's been crazy for me when I've been I've been out, like literally mingling with a guy, and I've been hit on, and like guys will try to like battle.
1:01:32
SPEAKER_00: Like it's happened to me one time.
1:01:33
SPEAKER_00: I was like at a party, and then we're outside talking because it was loud, and he's sitting on top of a car.
1:01:39
SPEAKER_00: I'm facing him, and I'm in between his legs, and a guy stopped in his in his car, and he stops right next to us, and he tries to talk to me.
1:01:46
SPEAKER_00: He's like, No, be with me.
1:01:47
SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm better.
1:01:48
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, and then he was like, You gonna look, you gonna talk to him or you gonna talk to me?
1:01:51
SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, Oh my god, like what is happening?
1:01:53
SPEAKER_00: Mighty, they were both bad.
1:01:54
SPEAKER_00: So I'm like, this is crazy.
1:01:56
SPEAKER_00: Guys, there's room for everyone.
1:01:58
SPEAKER_00: Yes.
1:01:58
SPEAKER_00: Yes, especially if the bag is there, honey.
1:02:01
SPEAKER_00: Ah, no shade.
1:02:02
SPEAKER_00: I can't do no brokey.
1:02:04
SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry.
1:02:05
SPEAKER_00: No.
1:02:05
SPEAKER_00: Do you share these story times?
1:02:07
SPEAKER_00: I do.
1:02:08
SPEAKER_00: I kind of stopped a little bit.
1:02:09
SPEAKER_00: I was doing a lot of those.
1:02:10
SPEAKER_00: I don't know if you saw the old videos.
1:02:12
SPEAKER_00: Like I would talk about my love life a lot, but I took a long break.
1:02:14
SPEAKER_00: I didn't I haven't gone on a date since August.
1:02:17
SPEAKER_00: I was done on a few cheekies here and there, but I took a long break.
1:02:20
SPEAKER_00: Like I flirted, I flirt and stuff, you know.
1:02:23
SPEAKER_00: Like I was on FaceTime with a boy just a few hours ago, maybe.
1:02:27
SPEAKER_00: But it doesn't mean anything unless you make it shake, you know?
1:02:33
SPEAKER_00: Like, what are you doing?
1:02:34
SPEAKER_00: If I don't I'm an action girl, you could tell me a whole story at a time, a whole, you know, you're gonna be, I'm a da da yada yada yada.
1:02:39
SPEAKER_00: Baby, if I don't see a bouquet, you're not taking me out, you're not being intentional, then you're just a buddy.
1:02:44
SPEAKER_00: Hi, bro, how are you?
1:02:46
SPEAKER_00: Yes, you know, uh, I'm all about that action, especially because I can't match that energy.
1:02:51
SPEAKER_00: But I will say I have a little fiery energy that um I don't think every man can handle.
1:02:56
SPEAKER_00: Some guys really want women to stay in that really dip in your energy, and I can be that, but you gotta take me there.
1:03:01
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but also like you gotta be about your business.
1:03:05
SPEAKER_00: Yes, I could flirt down.
1:03:07
SPEAKER_00: Like, I literally, for example, like last month I was like flirting down with this Aries man and cute or whatever, but I just felt like I don't know.
1:03:16
SPEAKER_00: And he said, You're not gonna let me take you out.
1:03:17
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, No.
1:03:20
SPEAKER_00: I don't think so.
1:03:21
SPEAKER_00: And he was like, Why?
1:03:22
SPEAKER_00: And I was like, You know you have an okay haircut.
1:03:24
SPEAKER_00: I cannot be seeing now with a man with no haircut.
1:03:26
SPEAKER_00: What do you mean no haircut?
1:03:26
SPEAKER_00: No, he got a haircut after, and he called me with the haircut, and I was like, mmm, no.
1:03:30
SPEAKER_01: Damn, you made he fumbled so hard that he was like, damn, I gotta get a haircut.
1:03:34
SPEAKER_01: And he came back to you afterwards and you still were like, no, no.
1:03:36
SPEAKER_01: And then I was like, Let me see your nails.
1:03:38
SPEAKER_00: I'm like insane.
1:03:39
SPEAKER_00: Let me see your nails.
1:03:42
SPEAKER_00: Uh, but this is the thing, men are really picky.
1:03:44
SPEAKER_00: If you're not a 10, they don't care.
1:03:46
SPEAKER_00: Even though they will put it inside of anything, but at the same time, yeah.
1:03:49
SPEAKER_00: At the same time, I feel like for women, you have every right to be just as picky, you know.
1:03:53
SPEAKER_00: And this time was I want to have a fun night and I'm just having a fun night, you know, and like flirt or whatever, but I'm going back home by myself, you know.
1:04:00
SPEAKER_00: I'm not, no, yeah, I'm like a really big flirt.
1:04:02
SPEAKER_00: I feel like that's where the Libra really falls in.
1:04:04
SPEAKER_00: For example, I was like walking towards my house, and there was this spot that be hot or whatever, and I saw this guy, and he was like, Oh, come.
1:04:13
SPEAKER_00: And I was like, I'm gonna come to you.
1:04:15
SPEAKER_00: So then he came to me and he was speaking or whatever, and he was cute, tall, handsome, yada yada yada.
1:04:21
SPEAKER_00: And he was like, Yeah, like give me your number, X, Y, and Z.
1:04:24
SPEAKER_00: And I was like, Okay.
1:04:26
SPEAKER_00: I gave him my number, walk away, and then I went with my sister, and I was like, I didn't see his teeth, so I'm not gonna respond.
1:04:31
SPEAKER_00: Real I'm like, yeah, I pay attention, like a little cuckoo for cocoa pups, but it's okay, they love it.
1:04:38
SPEAKER_00: Make men work.
1:04:40
SPEAKER_00: They barely want to do that, honey.
1:04:41
SPEAKER_00: They want to be the baddie now.
1:04:42
SPEAKER_00: That's why I can't flirt with a guy from New York City.
1:04:46
SPEAKER_00: The ones from New York are difficult.
1:04:47
SPEAKER_00: For example, the guy like I liked most recently was from Jersey.
1:04:51
SPEAKER_00: The one before that was from Baltimore when I asked, the one before that was from Jersey too.
1:04:55
SPEAKER_00: And then I have a couple in different cities around the US, and one overseas, and one in Dubai.
1:05:01
SPEAKER_00: Hot.
1:05:02
SPEAKER_00: But I'm like, if you don't come to New York, isn't now run towards the doll.
1:05:09
SPEAKER_00: They need to work for you, not vice versa.
1:05:11
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, I'm like, no, baby, you need to accommodate me.
1:05:14
SPEAKER_00: I need to be comfortable, and then send a car.
1:05:16
SPEAKER_00: Thanks yeah.
1:05:17
SPEAKER_00: But I can be a lover girl, but I feel like for the right man.
1:05:21
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
1:05:21
SPEAKER_00: I was a lover girl in my last relationship.
1:05:23
SPEAKER_00: I wasn't my huh.
1:05:25
SPEAKER_00: You know?
1:05:25
SPEAKER_00: I always think it's cute when girls get really like soft for a guy.
1:05:29
SPEAKER_00: But I only dated him because he was intentional.
1:05:31
SPEAKER_00: For example, my ex, I will never see him without seeing flowers.
1:05:35
SPEAKER_00: And then he'll have like a surprise at home and like a little teddy bear, and like, yes, I need to be huh.
1:05:40
SPEAKER_00: Man, minus down nine.
1:05:42
SPEAKER_00: Don't get love bombed, but also if you love bomb me, I'm in my do it back.
1:05:45
SPEAKER_00: But if you pull back, I'm gonna pull back too, honey.
1:05:48
SPEAKER_00: I could play this game.
1:05:50
SPEAKER_00: You have seen that movie too, could play that game?
1:05:52
SPEAKER_00: Love her.
1:05:52
SPEAKER_00: Iconic.
1:05:53
SPEAKER_00: Baby, that's a staple.
1:05:54
SPEAKER_00: You need to watch her.
1:05:55
SPEAKER_01: Last two questions for you then.
1:05:57
SPEAKER_01: Yes.
1:05:57
SPEAKER_01: That lip liner hack, stunning.
1:05:59
SPEAKER_01: What One more quick little beauty hack tip trick that you feel like people should know, or you're not seeing people do?
1:06:05
SPEAKER_00: I even taught my sister Jay, um, baby try press powder first and translucent on top.
1:06:10
SPEAKER_00: If you want to look like a filter and you don't want to crease, then you have to do that.
1:06:14
SPEAKER_00: So face two?
1:06:15
SPEAKER_00: Oh, you'll look like face two and honey.
1:06:16
SPEAKER_00: You know what I'm saying?
1:06:17
SPEAKER_00: Like besides from just the lip, the translucent powder, if like yeah, press first, then translucent on top.
1:06:23
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
1:06:23
SPEAKER_00: So what I usually do is I do my pressed powder when after on my concealer, then I'll do bronzer and powder blush, then I'll do translucent on top.
1:06:32
SPEAKER_00: Highlighter will be last after you wipe it off.
1:06:35
SPEAKER_00: Mascara after setting spray.
1:06:36
SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah, and when you do pressed powder on the lip, that's when you do lip liner.
1:06:41
SPEAKER_00: And then you could do translucent on top if you want to do it like that way.
1:06:44
SPEAKER_00: It just acts like a barrier and it just sticks more.
1:06:47
SPEAKER_01: Are you using uh like a powder puff or a brush or a sponge?
1:06:50
SPEAKER_01: Powder puff?
1:06:51
SPEAKER_01: Always.
1:06:52
SPEAKER_01: Always okay.
1:06:53
SPEAKER_00: I usually do like a brush on a client if I'm like Sanitary.
1:06:57
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but I love a powder puff though.
1:06:58
SPEAKER_00: I like brand new one off the bag, sickening.
1:07:02
unknown: Yeah.
1:07:02
SPEAKER_01: And then last question.
1:07:04
SPEAKER_01: What was your like queer awakening?
1:07:07
SPEAKER_01: Queer awakening?
1:07:09
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
1:07:10
SPEAKER_01: Like for reference, for me it was, you know, white chicks?
1:07:13
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
1:07:13
SPEAKER_01: When she's at the beach and she's like, what happened to the stun?
1:07:16
SPEAKER_01: And she opens her eyes and Terry Cruises on her.
1:07:18
SPEAKER_01: Like, that was mine.
1:07:21
SPEAKER_01: You're about to gag Twilight.
1:07:24
SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
1:07:25
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
1:07:26
SPEAKER_01: That's T.
1:07:27
SPEAKER_01: What about Twilight?
1:07:28
SPEAKER_00: Taylor.
1:07:29
SPEAKER_00: Taylor lot.
1:07:30
SPEAKER_00: Oh, baby.
1:07:30
SPEAKER_00: Everybody was like, oh my god, I love like what's his name again?
1:07:33
SPEAKER_00: The other one?
1:07:34
SPEAKER_00: Edward.
1:07:34
SPEAKER_00: Edward, yeah.
1:07:35
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, I was like, I was secretive, but I'm like, oh, Taylor, please.
1:07:40
SPEAKER_00: Like, I was just obsessed.
1:07:42
SPEAKER_00: When he had long time, baby, I'll take it however.
1:07:45
SPEAKER_00: I was obsessed.
1:07:47
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, it's body honey.
1:07:49
SPEAKER_00: No shade.
1:07:51
SPEAKER_00: But I'm gonna lie, my um bullies when I was in DR also were hot.
1:07:55
SPEAKER_00: There's something about that.
1:07:57
SPEAKER_01: There's something about Puerto Rican, like, what's the what's the PC word for it now?
1:08:02
SPEAKER_01: Puerto Rican trade, basically.
1:08:04
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, I'm scared of you, but I'm kind of scared of you.
1:08:07
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, like there was one that I never let him get in trouble because he was so cute.
1:08:12
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
1:08:12
SPEAKER_00: Never he would never get in trouble.
1:08:14
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, he was okay.
1:08:16
SPEAKER_00: Literally.
1:08:16
SPEAKER_00: And you over here, like, he's bad.
1:08:19
SPEAKER_00: Yes.
1:08:20
SPEAKER_00: Also, another gay awakening was the guy that taught me how to swim because he put me on his back.
1:08:24
SPEAKER_00: Oh, honey.
1:08:25
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, yes, teach me, please.
1:08:28
SPEAKER_00: Yes, girl, like, ah, what a childhood.
1:08:31
SPEAKER_00: It's always the formative moments.
1:08:33
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he told me how to swim, and he was so big and strong.
1:08:35
SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, uh, but maybe you want to know my doll awakening?
1:08:39
SPEAKER_00: Because it's different.
1:08:40
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
1:08:41
SPEAKER_00: Uh, I'm gonna say, so when I first had heard of trans women, I was looking at the stigma in the media, which is very negative, and they show you trans women that are not as passable.
1:08:51
SPEAKER_00: But honey, when I went into ballroom in high school, um, I went to my first ball.
1:08:59
SPEAKER_00: And it's funny, I had to go a few times.
1:09:00
SPEAKER_00: I never like the trans women that were passable, I never thought they were trans.
1:09:05
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, oh, that's a girl.
1:09:06
SPEAKER_00: Like, I remember also like my first trans mother too.
1:09:09
SPEAKER_00: Like, I remember when I first met her, I didn't know her teeth.
1:09:10
SPEAKER_00: They told me I was like, What?
1:09:12
SPEAKER_00: She's what?
1:09:13
SPEAKER_00: You know?
1:09:13
SPEAKER_00: I kind of gagged.
1:09:14
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, oh my god, they're so beautiful.
1:09:15
SPEAKER_00: I thought it was something completely different because people tell you like trans women look like men.
1:09:18
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, baby, trans women look like the epitome of femininity.
1:09:22
SPEAKER_00: Um, have you guys heard the take of like trans women are the real um look masters?
1:09:26
SPEAKER_01: No.
1:09:27
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but think about it.
1:09:28
SPEAKER_00: We are always done.
1:09:29
SPEAKER_00: Honey, you haven't seen me in a bad look.
1:09:31
SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry.
1:09:32
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
1:09:33
SPEAKER_00: Mug 24-7, makeup, no makeup, however we come, honey, we look fab.
1:09:38
SPEAKER_00: You know?
1:09:39
SPEAKER_00: And the ones I go through the most are usually the ones that look the best.
1:09:42
SPEAKER_00: Because it's like, baby, I have a point to prove.
1:09:45
SPEAKER_00: You know, not only to other people, but also to myself, you know what I mean?
1:09:48
SPEAKER_00: Like, especially when it came to me, like starting my journey.
1:09:52
SPEAKER_00: It's just like, I'm like, I need to be the girl that's just undeniable.
1:09:55
SPEAKER_00: You look at me, you're just like, I gotta keep looking at you.
1:09:58
SPEAKER_00: Have you ever been on a date and somebody just stares at you the whole time?
1:10:01
SPEAKER_00: You're like, baby, are you lost?
1:10:02
SPEAKER_00: Wake up.
1:10:03
SPEAKER_00: Love.
1:10:04
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I want that.
1:10:06
SPEAKER_00: I have that.
1:10:07
unknown: Yeah.
1:10:07
SPEAKER_00: And so that was your like doll awakening, like just saying like the epitome.
1:10:11
SPEAKER_00: See beautiful trans woman.
1:10:13
SPEAKER_00: There's one in specific that I saw her clip and I won't say because originally she didn't like me.
1:10:18
SPEAKER_00: Imagine having somebody you admire and you move in one of your mood boards, and I still have it in my old mood board.
1:10:23
SPEAKER_00: I think it's in my house.
1:10:24
SPEAKER_00: She had blocked me when I was first going viral, and I had met her.
1:10:30
SPEAKER_00: I checked her out in one of the stores I used to work at, and I was like gagged.
1:10:33
SPEAKER_00: But like, I'm the type of person.
1:10:34
SPEAKER_00: If I admire you, I kind of one don't want to meet you because I don't want to ruin that for myself.
1:10:38
SPEAKER_00: But two, like, I also want to treat you like a regular person, but I was so gagged.
1:10:43
SPEAKER_00: Like, I checked her out and I looked at her and like she I don't I don't know if she gagged with me looking at her, but like she I've grown to know she's not the nicest, but she's very beautiful woman.
1:10:52
SPEAKER_00: Um, I'll say that beautiful, stunning.
1:10:55
SPEAKER_00: Ugh.
1:10:56
SPEAKER_00: But you know, beautiful on the eyeside on the outside, you know.
1:11:00
SPEAKER_00: Gut it on the inside.
1:11:02
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I don't know.
1:11:03
SPEAKER_00: She unblocked me.
