- 0:00Then give me a one to 10 review, a Dave Portnoy review of the
- 0:04event. Dude I would say for me a solid
- 0:0710. OK, wow.
- 0:08I'll give it a 10 dude like. Really.
- 0:11Are you just buttering me up right now?
- 0:13No, dude, the vibes are off the chart.
- 0:15Like, we were going back and forth on Instagram and I just
- 0:18like, dude, there's like a big space for events to come in and,
- 0:23like, have like a younger crowd and just like, more kickback.
- 0:27Relax. But still an awesome course.
- 0:29Yeah. I feel like that's exactly what
- 0:30this is. I now you come and everyone is
- 0:34just chill. Yeah.
- 0:35Just good vibes all around. Everyone's hanging out.
- 0:38That's kind of like initially year one, what the what our plan
- 0:41was and obviously year one was very raw compared to this.
- 0:46I couldn't even remember it and Jack had to enlighten me last
- 0:50night because I couldn't. But there was a reason I
- 0:53couldn't freak you. Happened year 1.
- 0:57Didn't you do a couple like little special shrooms or?
- 1:00Something I did, and then I walked.
- 1:01And then you were like staring at a.
- 1:02Trees and stared at trees. Yeah, literally.
- 1:05So Jack's playing guitar. That's actually how the show
- 1:07came to be. So year one, we're sitting
- 1:09around a campfire late at night, people just there was no
- 1:11production to the event, but we're sitting down there and all
- 1:14of a sudden a camp of like 6 people and Jack playing guitar
- 1:17turned into like 30 people around a campfire with him
- 1:21playing. And I go maybe we do a show next
- 1:23year. And I'm like, this is so
- 1:25electric. And I'm like where is Brianna?
- 1:28And I see her come back like 2 hours later and I was like,
- 1:30where have you been? She's like, oh, I, I was just
- 1:33looking at trees. Yeah, I thought I couldn't
- 1:38remember. I was like, what did we do?
- 1:40Year 1? I don't remember at all.
- 1:41And then now I remembered. But I think that's right.
- 1:44Like tacks are phenomenal. I love them, but they're like a
- 1:48mixture of an Expo and a shoot, you know, with the amount of
- 1:52vendors there, which is super cool because you get to see so
- 1:54many things that like aren't in your local stores and things
- 1:57like that. Depends on your local.
- 1:59Store, but yeah, if you go to Nashville N Nashville North.
- 2:03Yeah, Pump station. I code pump station on
- 2:06podiumarcher.com 10% but no I mean this is like that was the
- 2:11goal you get to. Camp here, which some tax do
- 2:13have like Tennessee's tax. We just want to.
- 2:15You can camp at yeah. I think they're trying to do
- 2:18that more as much as they can. It's just trying to find.
- 2:21Not quite that allow. Not only does allow for it but
- 2:24have that much room because if 3000 people are trying to camp
- 2:28or 4000. People are Yeah, you need a
- 2:30giant. Even if a third of them come
- 2:311000 people in the campground, we're not putting 1000 people in
- 2:34this campground, you know? There's there's one that's
- 2:37they're looking at that's outside of the Nashville area a
- 2:40little bit that actually has the capacity to have that many.
- 2:44People, yeah. So I'm hoping they pick it.
- 2:47Yeah, that would be cool. Now I heard that you have some
- 2:52great. Are they ranges or archery clubs
- 2:56or whatnot in Utah? Yeah.
- 2:58Yeah, yeah, there's some good ones.
- 3:00Fun like what makes it? Because we have quite a few.
- 3:02Here. We've got Balboa, we've got Bear
- 3:06State here, we've got Alpine. I was say God and run club Gun
- 3:13and Rod Club. No, you still messed it up.
- 3:15God and. God, now I'm messing it up.
- 3:18It is kind of a tongue twist. So we've got quite a few, but
- 3:20like what? What makes them fun I guess.
- 3:23So, so I would say differently, I can't speak as much for
- 3:26Northern Utah because I haven't shot a lot of the ranges up
- 3:29there, but I'm down in Southern Utah and so it's more of a
- 3:33desert landscape. Yeah, which a lot of the stuff I
- 3:36see on YouTube, a lot of people are shooting in the mountains
- 3:39and stuff. And so a lot, a lot more open
- 3:44shots. Yeah.
- 3:45My range personally, which is in down in St.
- 3:47George, UT, Oh I. Know.
- 3:50We know it well. We have an awesome, an awesome
- 3:533D range out there. But I would say all, all courses
- 3:58are unique. I would say what makes that one
- 4:00unique because it's pretty scenic.
- 4:01There's red rock everywhere. Our club does a good job at
- 4:05making sure there's a variety of 3D targets.
- 4:07And then I also shot the range in near Phoenix, Usury range in
- 4:14Arizona, and that one was killer.
- 4:16Yeah, yeah, an awesome little. Do you guys use any of like the
- 4:20rock? Do you do you do any shoots
- 4:22there like hold shoots or just? Like so the club does, the club
- 4:25does shoots there. Yeah.
- 4:27Do you when you do is like all open stuff or do you like use
- 4:29any of the topography in that rock to do?
- 4:31There's yeah, there's some, there's some cool shots within
- 4:34the topography, but I'll say one thing, like the shoot here, some
- 4:38of the windows you guys put together are sick like.
- 4:41Thank James for that. Like very unique.
- 4:43And I think it's I think it's because you've gone to so many
- 4:45tacks and you've shot so much. So where you have just a
- 4:49different eye for hey, this shot would be sick.
- 4:52Like let's make it happen. And a lot of time goes into
- 4:54making those shots. I don't think people realize how
- 4:56much. Time.
- 4:57The plan goes. Into behind like the knowledge
- 5:00of knowing like your, your Bose science because like or
- 5:04everybody's you know like or the signs of bows and arrow flight
- 5:07and whatnot. Because he'll look at a window
- 5:09and I'll look at a window standing right next to him and
- 5:11be like, you can't make that shot.
- 5:13That is not possible. And he's like, yeah, you can
- 5:18watch. And he just makes it.
- 5:20I'm like, yeah, but what about my short arrow?
- 5:22And I'm like, he's like, yeah, it'll just arc right in there.
- 5:25You know, you've got X amount of distance after that.
- 5:27And I'm looking at him like, hey, that's only like 10 yards.
- 5:30Like, that's not enough. He's like, no, no, by the end of
- 5:33your flight, your arrow's dropping off.
- 5:34You're just going to drop right into the target.
- 5:37And sure as shit it does. So he just has a lot of
- 5:40knowledge, which makes putting these courses together any
- 5:43cooler for people. Yeah, I really figured him up
- 5:47right now how there's egos just inflating.
- 5:49I love it. Yeah, Keep keep buttering me up.
- 5:51I love it. Calculate how much time you have
- 5:53into setting up all. That's impossible, dude.
- 5:55It would be impossible because it's like all three years add up
- 5:58to like what it is now even on the courses because like a lot
- 6:02of those trail networks didn't even exist year one and then
- 6:05like would build would build in some build on that.
- 6:10Then like year 2 reuse some like flip on build new networks and
- 6:14like, so I don't know, it's a shit load, but this year we were
- 6:17definitely more efficient. I'll say that last year we
- 6:20wasted a lot of time on stuff that we didn't need to.
- 6:23For example, like I went out and weed whacked the entire trails
- 6:27on all of them last year. And then I was, I realized when
- 6:31I went to TAC and we were like the first one to shoot a trail
- 6:34and there was like no work done. I mean, we're like blazing
- 6:38trails. And I realized that after three
- 6:40groups go through, it's all going to be frigging dirt roads
- 6:43anyways. So we saved a lot of time there
- 6:46and just like getting better. But yeah, the that's one thing I
- 6:49think Brianna hit on is one thing I really like about this
- 6:52shoot in particular is a lot of the windows that you mentioned
- 6:58are designed to kind of educate people about their trajectory.
- 7:03So I think that's a part of archery that a lot of people
- 7:06overlook is like flight paths. I've done it many times in a
- 7:10tree stand when I was new at it. I would complain and like have
- 7:15to go in and cut down branches that I thought would be in my
- 7:18way, thinking I need to be able to see the full line of sight to
- 7:22this animal and its vitals and my windows that I have open to
- 7:25me. I'm like, no, really all I'm
- 7:27doing is putting myself more in the open and this animal can see
- 7:30me. When reality is, is like, you
- 7:32could just put your pin on that rock, you know, the shape of a
- 7:35deer or a bear or whatever it is you're shooting at or on this
- 7:39piece of grass. Like, OK, that piece of grass, I
- 7:42know it's going to, it's going to go right through there.
- 7:44And I think people get scared to like pins on the rock.
- 7:47I'm going to hit the rock or not.
- 7:49You're going to arc right over the rock.
- 7:51And that, and that's a shot that I've done like even I just shot
- 7:54a mountain Reed buck like a month or two ago and that's
- 7:57exactly the shot it was. You know, I can see the top of
- 7:59its back by a new trajectory in the hill curve.
- 8:02Like I would hit where I needed to.
- 8:04But you got to learn that that's something that without a lot of
- 8:07reps, you just probably don't know.
- 8:09You're like, well, I can't hit him even though you can.
- 8:11Yeah. You know, like, so.
- 8:13I don't know. Yeah.
- 8:14I think that's really cool. And.
- 8:15It's like the bear on the beast, the bear trail that you took us
- 8:18to. It's.
- 8:18The one I'm not going to be able to shoot Beast this year.
- 8:22I shot the other two, which is phenomenal and I'm OK.
- 8:24They're not going to shoot it, but I do want to drive up there
- 8:26and just shoot it once because you haven't.
- 8:28Shot that one, no. We'll go.
- 8:29No, because we did podium the other day together and you guys
- 8:33went on beast. Yeah, which my knees are.
- 8:35They're OK with not going to beast this year, but I do want
- 8:39to shoot that shot although. Because you know, so Chuck with
- 8:42his watch, we had guessed we didn't have time to map out
- 8:45podium like as far as distance, but I was like, I bet it's 1.75
- 8:50miles. Chuck did it on his watch is
- 8:511.75 miles. Is that?
- 8:53Exactly. Right.
- 8:54Good guess. But I actually think total
- 8:57elevation change, I think podium actually probably has more than
- 9:01beast cuz beast just goes all the way up and all the way down
- 9:04where it's like podiums constantly going up and.
- 9:07Down. I shot podium and I shot beast.
- 9:08Yeah, you were kept saying that. It's like, oh, there's so much
- 9:11up and down, but I was like the whole time shooting podium, like
- 9:14we've been walking uphill for 10 targets.
- 9:16Now we're walking down, oh, on beast.
- 9:18You like when you get to the sign on podium all.
- 9:20The way up and hit 10 and then you start working.
- 9:23Away from the Sasquatch, Yeah, yeah.
- 9:25Yeah. Whereas with your beast, you're
- 9:27up and down and up and down, up and down.
- 9:28You're not changing elevations. Yeah, exactly.
- 9:30Podium. I love the section at the end of
- 9:32the podium course. I love the section where it's
- 9:35the downhill, super steep bedded deer turn around, super steep up
- 9:39at the bison, then the little bastard bear and then and then
- 9:43that's. I love the ending.
- 9:44I hate standing on a freaking rock and shoot.
- 9:47No dude, I. That was a funny.
- 9:48He said the same thing when we went and shot beasts.
- 9:51He said the same exact thing. Dude, I drew back and I felt
- 9:55good, and then I started thinking about my feet and I got
- 9:57all along with this. Yeah, this.
- 10:00He was so scared in Tennessee. He gets on this rock and he's
- 10:03like, I do not like this. Well, I always like, I don't
- 10:05know what it is about it, and I probably need to stand on
- 10:08something that moves and practice that a lot because
- 10:11anytime I get on a really hard surface that's not flat, I feel
- 10:14like my equilibrium's all over the place And then.
- 10:17You gotta get one of those balls that Paige uses.
- 10:19Yeah. Those things are crazy to stand.
- 10:22On I know I want somebody to hold my shirt because I could
- 10:25not I like mentally would just. We'll hold your hand, Josh.
- 10:28Yeah, we'll hold your hand. Same thing I'm totally.
- 10:30Fine. Yeah, me.
- 10:31On rock and I'm like. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 10:34So did you lose any arrows this weekend?
- 10:36When we went to the bear target, I smoked one and then we swapped
- 10:40bows. We smoked.
- 10:41One of each other's we. Oh yeah, you told me that
- 10:43straight it off, James. Like I hadn't lost any targets.
- 10:46Then we go over there and I shoot them all in and then I
- 10:48grab his bow and then I shoot three of my arrows straight into
- 10:52the steel. I was like, well.
- 10:53Well I no so Ty shot one in the steel, I shot one of his in the
- 10:57steel and then Taylor Hawk shot 2 of my arrows into the cheese.
- 11:02Yeah, I went back to the. Did you take my tips off my
- 11:04arrows? I had to.
- 11:06Yeah, I knew it. I go to grab more arrows.
- 11:08I'm like. No, no, no.
- 11:10You know what, I take that back. I actually did not take the tips
- 11:13off. They all unscrewed and David
- 11:15actually shout out to David supplied me with field tips.
- 11:18So I actually didn't but. So I just don't know where my
- 11:20tips that's correct, that's equal with well, you see.
- 11:25What do you think about the the field tips with gaskets?
- 11:28This is a conversation I want to have the ones that don't come
- 11:30with. Field tips.
- 11:31Do they have gaskets? Yeah.
- 11:33Why does Bruce Marshall from Bow and Arrow Shop hate gasket field
- 11:36tips so much? No.
- 11:37Idea. It doesn't make any.
- 11:38Sense. Do you think that's a poor take
- 11:40by Bruce? I do.
- 11:41Think it's a poor take by Bruce. Bruce does not have a lot of
- 11:43poor. Takes no his.
- 11:44Takes are excellent. Very good takes.
- 11:46One reason or another, and I think it's that.
- 11:48I think it's that mindset and maybe it's his age or whatnot
- 11:51where it's like, hey, it works this way, so I don't care.
- 11:54I think that's really more what it is.
- 11:55Like just put some wax on your threads and it doesn't matter.
- 11:58That's what most guys don't shoot O-ring gaskets would do.
- 12:01Now I don't wanna do that. Once in a while, an o-ring
- 12:03gasket will push out on the point a little bit and make your
- 12:06point crooked. So is that the back?
- 12:07It out and put it back. In is that the downside you
- 12:10would say I? Would say.
- 12:11I'd say that's the downside. Or if you're shooting an axis
- 12:14style arrow with a hit insert where it's carbon and though
- 12:19you're screwing in a carbon, a lot of times it'll cut the ring
- 12:22off of the o-ring the exterior because it doesn't fold in like
- 12:26it does on metal. So if you're actually going
- 12:27directly against carbon, might not be ideal in that.
- 12:29Scenario. I'm be honest, I didn't
- 12:31understand anything. I was just as as he was saying
- 12:34that in my head. I I literally before you.
- 12:36Like, you know. What you're talking but no but
- 12:38but I. Was not I.
- 12:39Remember, you're looking like what?
- 12:40I'll block we all. Know what?
- 12:42A 5mm. Yeah, two O 4, yes.
- 12:45I call them skinnies, regulars and in betweens.
- 12:49In betweens then yes. James.
- 12:51'S. Yeah, so you know in.
- 12:52Betweens. Right.
- 12:52Yeah, a lot the not original in between arrow.
- 12:55People are saying I'm an absolute idiot and wonder how in
- 12:57the world I'm on a YouTube channel the.
- 12:58Eastern axis they are right and what they made was an insert
- 13:02that just goes downside the arrow but doesn't come up to the
- 13:04end of the arrow. So when you screw the point in,
- 13:06it's actually screwing. Down into that insert inside
- 13:09carbon OK. A lot of people in the Taurus,
- 13:12you got deeper the carbon on the inside, so there's like an edge.
- 13:16When you try to screw a rubber gasket at fuel point into it, it
- 13:18like cuts the edge of the rubber off.
- 13:20I get it now. I do get it now where?
- 13:22It came from in that era is like, yeah, that's stupid and
- 13:25people Oh my fuel points messed up or something like that.
- 13:29That's too much. Right then I had this.
- 13:30I had this thought as he was going on this spiel.
- 13:33I just in my head before you chirped, I went.
- 13:36I love when he does this. Just look at him go.
- 13:39I love when he. Consequently like you want to
- 13:42deeper those arrows period regardless.
- 13:44Like, I just keep going on this. I love it because it's.
- 13:46Not gonna go in all the way, yeah.
- 13:47It gets really. Close and you look down.
- 13:49It's like why is there a little gap here?
- 13:50It's 'cause you didn't deeper the inside the carbon when.
- 13:52You want. That means clean it out.
- 13:54Clean it out. It's not cleaning it, it's
- 13:56actually sanding it. So when you.
- 13:57Make sand it out. This whole section is insane.
- 14:01I love this part of the part it off.
- 14:02No, I don't think so. This is the stuff that they.
- 14:05Yeah. Look at the inside of the before
- 14:07you inserted it. There'd be an edge that almost
- 14:09goes up when you cut it with a salt and you have to clean that
- 14:12edge off, you were saying. Take a drill or something like.
- 14:15But if you yeah. And then what goes?
- 14:17If you look at like an axis, when they send you those
- 14:19inserts, there's like this little sanding foil that comes
- 14:21in it. And it's for cutting the edge
- 14:23off because it'll, you'll crack your arrow when you go to put
- 14:26your point in and hit something hard because there's not a
- 14:28little recession there. Yeah, that's why you need to do
- 14:31that, yeah. Do you build your own arrows?
- 14:33I do no, I I love. I was actually.
- 14:35Clutching some in the truck. Oh, wonderful.
- 14:39I I have a sponsor for that. It's Brittany Jean outdoors.
- 14:44I was like and I'm going to have her start building my arrows,
- 14:48you know on code for a website coupon code is Brittany doesn't
- 14:52have a website.com. What a crazy take.
- 14:56Something I think she needs to start working on dot com.
- 14:59Yeah, I am going to I'm just going to have Brittany build
- 15:01them for me. So I you know I did used to back
- 15:05in Florida. I built a few arrows back in the
- 15:07day. Not many long time, not many
- 15:11Yep, that was a long time ago. It's about.
- 15:12The easiest do it yourself thing to.
- 15:14Do quite literally your own. Arrow.
- 15:16Yeah, I suppose. You also learn a lot.
- 15:21Sure, sure. Yeah.
- 15:24Mostly I think it's the anxiety I get when like like say
- 15:28fletches fall off or things like I had the issue with fletches
- 15:32sticking the wraps and whatnot and then having to go through
- 15:35and you know, you could just ask an expert like hey what glue
- 15:38sticks best to wraps or something you can.
- 15:41Still do that? You could still do that.
- 15:43I could. I could.
- 15:44And you buy it and you try it or I.
- 15:46Just send it to you so you can make some content.
- 15:48And then, you know, I'll just say, hey, thanks for building my
- 15:50arrows. Here's a pair of free American
- 15:53Eagle jeans and. Yeah, because I don't get paid
- 15:56the money I do get paid in. When Brit comes here, it's going
- 15:59to your grandparents. House.
- 16:01You know, I am kind of like her. Sugar daddy that you would not
- 16:05believe. I don't know how many at home
- 16:06with it all. Yeah, you know.
- 16:08I got a hat, a lighter, a pair of pants, 3 dresses for this
- 16:12trip. I might be.
- 16:15Who got a dress for you? There are a few.
- 16:17I just, you know, I gave up on the dream that there will be a
- 16:21day I fit back in them. And so I'm just passing them
- 16:24along. I think I've worn one of them.
- 16:27Four of them are still brand new.
- 16:30They're all for the same dresses, just all in different
- 16:32colors. So we're we're going to pass
- 16:34them along to a smaller version of myself.
- 16:38Thank you. We may look similar, but we
- 16:40certainly are not very nice. Yeah.
- 16:43So. What a nice.
- 16:44What a nice just a nice bunch right now.
- 16:48I love. We went from arrow building to
- 16:51dress sizing to dress sizing. Watch this.
- 16:53Stuff. I will say this, Welches. 7.2%.
- 16:56Welches great ghost, very good. One of the best.
- 17:00What? Is.
- 17:01This. That's cherry Lime made.
- 17:03Right there Cherry Lime made gives it a run for.
- 17:05Its money. Yeah.
- 17:06Brooks Cafe Coffee. It does.
- 17:08Brooks. Cafe Pumpkin.
- 17:10Also very fire. Very fire.
- 17:12Try this one real quick. Oh, yeah.
- 17:14OK, hold on. Let me.
- 17:16What is this? Pumpkin spice?
- 17:18Yeah, I sure I had a seizure when I went to say pumpkin
- 17:20spice, but here we go. OK, let me try it.
- 17:22It'll go. Let me.
- 17:23Flip. Dry out.
- 17:26Oh fun. It's so good.
- 17:28It is good. Yeah, so do we want to actually
- 17:31create a public drinking game for James's phrases?
- 17:34I think we should do that. We have like a yeah, I think we
- 17:36should do that. Download or click on and print
- 17:37off. And have like.
- 17:38There's only a handful. There's a.
- 17:40Small, I think for Pence I need to make.
- 17:42And you got to update it every once in a while.
- 17:43Yeah, it. Wouldn't be hard too.
- 17:45No, I mean, there's no gonna jump on tan buns.
- 17:47Put together a bingo card, whoever.
- 17:49Yeah, you could totally do a bingo card.
- 17:52Dude. You already got pencils out on
- 17:54the course, so all you gotta do is mark your bingo card off too.
- 17:56And it would actually be a really fun video because David
- 17:59never stops filming, so he could just fill me for an entire
- 18:02course nonstop. And then like every time I say
- 18:06one, it like puts a Ding on the screen and someone's got to
- 18:09like, take a shot or something. You'd be smoked by the end of 15
- 18:12minutes. For sure.
- 18:13Oh yeah, happy fun bunch if that's your keyword.
- 18:16Oh geez, Martha, you're going to be wasting.
- 18:21Yeah, yeah, a good group. A good group, yeah, Yeah.
- 18:25There's a lot of them, yeah. It's.
- 18:28Quite enjoyable. It is very fun.
- 18:30Thank you. Yeah.
- 18:32Because he's a fun guy. I am, I am.
- 18:34What a cozy vibe by the fire last night, huh That.
- 18:37Was great. It was, yeah.
- 18:38Yeah, hey, let's talk real quick.
- 18:40You know, just about how responsible and good of a boy I
- 18:43was compared to normal this weekend.
- 18:45Was I not pretty good? You have been being a very good
- 18:49little boy. I do appreciate it because you
- 18:53are a a wild boy. So sometimes, you know, I just
- 18:57got a. You didn't even have.
- 19:00You didn't even have to reel me in.
- 19:01I was just. No, you went to bed before me.
- 19:03It was fantastic. Yeah.
- 19:04Yeah, Yeah, I'm, I'm maturing. Yes, you.
- 19:07Did you're old, Old lady? How old are you?
- 19:1025. OK, OK, where did you there's so
- 19:14you're like, you know, not in quite the young cool group
- 19:17that's over there. That's like our 20 year olds or
- 19:20Jack 21. Jack.
- 19:23Yeah, 21. You know you're the middle of.
- 19:25It right in the middle right now.
- 19:27That's good. I love the middle pack.
- 19:29Did you, did you go to college for what you do?
- 19:31I'm not gonna lie. So James did tell me who you
- 19:34were. I do a fairly OK job of like
- 19:38watching some content and seeing things that like.
- 19:42I'm not sure how you can't follow the archery industry and
- 19:45not have known who Ty was. Well, I knew who he was and I
- 19:47knew that he had a big social media and whatnot, but I guess I
- 19:50just never, yeah. But.
- 19:55Then Britney was like, no, he does like really great, like
- 19:57cinematic. There's that word, like really
- 20:01quality stuff. And I'm like, how have I not
- 20:03watched most of his stuff then? Because James knows I differ
- 20:06from him. I like your type of stuff.
- 20:09Yeah. And James loves the.
- 20:11Raw dog. I do.
- 20:13Like he likes a little grunge in his life.
- 20:14Oh, I love it. Dude, yeah, he might as well.
- 20:17White shirt on the front of the camera.
- 20:19That would be better. You know.
- 20:21But so did you go to college to film?
- 20:24Like to do film? So what's?
- 20:27Your background So I went to college for four years.
- 20:30What's the? Usual standard.
- 20:31Yeah, four years in college, but I didn't get my degree.
- 20:34So I can technically say I'm a college dropout, but.
- 20:37Oh, there you go. Cool.
- 20:38Four years and you just didn't get that.
- 20:40So I transferred schools my senior year and some of my
- 20:43credits didn't roll over. And so I had like 3 or 4 classes
- 20:47left and I was actually doing fishing content for three years
- 20:52whenever I was in school. So I learned how to use a
- 20:53camera. I learned a little bit about
- 20:56social media. So what were you working
- 20:57towards? A degree.
- 20:58In business administration. Oh yeah, I have a partial.
- 21:01And. It didn't get me anywhere.
- 21:03So school was school and I was like, OK, what am I going to do
- 21:06after school? I was like, I need to figure out
- 21:07how to make money. Like I guess business degrees
- 21:10work corporate and I didn't want to do that.
- 21:14So I was like, OK, I know how to make videos and I kind of know
- 21:18how to grow an Instagram account.
- 21:20So let me go to businesses and see if I can help them do that.
- 21:23I grow their Instagram, grow their social media.
- 21:26And so I started reaching out to people, offering them free work,
- 21:30and one thing kind of led to another and I got connected with
- 21:34some really good clients and I started doing like social media
- 21:38management, social media marketing, videography.
- 21:42And my senior year, I started that halfway through the year.
- 21:48And by the end of my senior year, I was making enough to
- 21:50where I was like, OK, I could just.
- 21:52Do. This.
- 21:53I could just do this and not finish up school.
- 21:56Yeah. And so I went all in on that.
- 21:59And for the last five years I've been like in the social media
- 22:02marketing space. And I feel like that has helped
- 22:04translate over to my content because I have really good
- 22:08cameras. I know how to edit videos.
- 22:10I know how to put together. It's people's cameras kind of
- 22:14like eye-catching content. So that's kind of how I got into
- 22:18it and I've been doing archery content for about 2 1/2 years
- 22:22now. But is.
- 22:23That how long you've also been shooting.
- 22:24No, so I started shooting when I was like 6.
- 22:27And so I give a lot of crap on social media actually.
- 22:30People are like, oh, you've never haunted in your life?
- 22:32But like I started hunting whenever I was 9.
- 22:34I killed my first year when I was 9.
- 22:36I killed my first deer with a bow whenever I was 12.
- 22:39And so I don't post as much hunting content as as I would
- 22:43like to, but it's also super like people don't understand how
- 22:46hard it is to solo film and. I literally could not imagine.
- 22:51Challenging, but I get out there and I'm like, hey, screw the
- 22:55cameras, like I just want to enjoy hunting.
- 22:57Yeah, at the. End of the day, you want to be
- 22:58successful, right? Yeah.
- 22:59If you're failing because of that aspect and you know you
- 23:02could succeed otherwise, it's hard to say.
- 23:04But I need to film this. Yeah.
- 23:06I've gone on two different ones where I was like, all right, I'm
- 23:08going to film this. And it the kill shot did not get
- 23:11filmed. Yep, and that just is what it
- 23:13is. Like, as much as you want it.
- 23:15Yeah. You know, there are times when I
- 23:16just can't keep up with Jay and I'm his filmer, you know, behind
- 23:20him. And he's like, Nope, I'm going.
- 23:23And he just takes up up the mountains.
- 23:25Like if I get there, I get there and get the content.
- 23:27If I don't, I don't. But you'll just hear my heavy
- 23:31breathing. That is pretty.
- 23:34Funny. Yeah, but that is hard.
- 23:36But that's cool. You know, I feel like similar
- 23:39when I started showing up in James's stuff.
- 23:43You know, we did not hunt from a young age.
- 23:45Like we're adult hunters. You could call us, I guess,
- 23:48onset adult hunters. Onset adult hunters.
- 23:50Is that the new? Phrase.
- 23:50I always thought that was like a whack little like whack phrase.
- 23:54Yeah, but we were like our young 20s.
- 23:56It's just. And so I had been hunting and
- 23:58shooting for 10 years before I met James or 9.
- 24:04And you come on the channel and everybody's like change.
- 24:08You're doing a such a good job teaching.
- 24:10Her there was a lot of those. A lot.
- 24:12A lot of that. In the beginning I was like,
- 24:15man, does my form look like shit or something?
- 24:17Well, it did in the beginning. Take this over.
- 24:19For you, but like they just assumed that you didn't know
- 24:23what you were doing and you were new to it and they like
- 24:26sometimes your content just doesn't reflect what you do like
- 24:31behind the scenes. Yeah.
- 24:33I will say one thing though, and that's I would say 90% of people
- 24:39who shoot bows. So I would say probably 90% of
- 24:42the people here don't know a ton of the technical stuff when it
- 24:46comes to a boat building. Arrows, tuning a bow like.
- 24:51That Josh raised the same. Yeah, most people don't.
- 24:54Yeah, most people don't know. And I'll say I didn't Start
- 24:58learning. I didn't learn how to tune a bow
- 25:00until two years ago. It was always pick my bow up, go
- 25:03shoot. My archery shop would take care
- 25:05of any problems I had. And so I think, like, I think
- 25:09with that in mind, it's like if you are out there new to
- 25:12shooting or you've been shooting for a while and you have no idea
- 25:16what any of this stuff is, that's OK.
- 25:17I think it's good to learn. Yeah, it's good to know how to
- 25:19work. On your bow and stuff, I've
- 25:20gotten to the point now where like, if you're talking about
- 25:24it, I know what you're talking about on the bow, but could I go
- 25:28and do it myself or trust myself to do it myself?
- 25:33Let's go over to across the country to this one over here,
- 25:37fly up north to this one over here.
- 25:39But I think it is good if you can know enough to do it on the
- 25:43spot. Like if you land and your bows
- 25:45messed up, if you get out on a hunt and you drop it and you
- 25:48need to fix something. Like it's important because not
- 25:52everybody carries a backup bow with them.
- 25:55I don't carry a backup bow with them myself.
- 25:57And so if you're out there and you're like, well, my Hunt's
- 26:00ruined when you could have just been able to potentially fix it
- 26:03yourself. Yeah, well, I think it's the
- 26:05biggest Fast forward button basically to get better at
- 26:08archery in general. That's understand.
- 26:10Your gear, which is why I've tried really hard to get people
- 26:13to work on their own stuff and don't be intimidated by it.
- 26:16It's not that hard. And making a bunch of videos to
- 26:18kind of show you guys too, because those people get better
- 26:21at archery quicker than people that don't do that.
- 26:24Avoiding it, not understanding when it's going wrong or why
- 26:27it's going wrong just leaves you in this state of well no, just
- 26:30trust your gear and it's me. There's definitely and that,
- 26:34yeah. And if you could understand how
- 26:36your boat worked, you would realize it wasn't.
- 26:37If you fix it quicker you less afraid to go.
- 26:40Just move your site. Don't.
- 26:42Don't sit there and go. Amen.
- 26:43It's like just move your site, you can move back.
- 26:45This less frustrated because like 3 years ago I would do the
- 26:49same thing and I'd get frustrated and it the statement
- 26:52was just like it's just you. You just got to, you know.
- 26:56There's there's definitely I both sides of the argument here.
- 26:59A lot of people are like, well, that's what the professionals
- 27:00are for. That's what the you know, the
- 27:02pro shops are for. But what the what the point
- 27:05you're making? Understanding your equipment
- 27:07grows your knowledge, makes you a better Archer.
- 27:09It doesn't mean that you necessarily have to have your
- 27:11own bow shop inside your house. That's not realistic.
- 27:14Not everybody has that. But not being afraid to adjust
- 27:18your equipment like attack two weeks ago at you know where I
- 27:24was bumping my rest in the middle.
- 27:26And I would guarantee you'll probably see 180th of the people
- 27:31out there who would actually be willing to make that adjustment.
- 27:34And when we got back to the cabin, somebody, I won't name
- 27:37any names, but said to me, you did what on the course?
- 27:41You moved your rest on the course.
- 27:42I was like, abso freaking lutely.
- 27:44That was not, didn't it wasn't me.
- 27:48Just don't be afraid if you know, that's the part.
- 27:50Like the worst thing someone can do is not know what they don't
- 27:53have. Yeah, I really, I really wish
- 27:54there was a way in general or people to go in when they buy
- 27:58their boat, actually build it themselves with some assistance.
- 28:01Yeah. That would be really sweet.
- 28:02It's super time consuming. So that would be hard
- 28:05financially to do unless there was like a fee board or
- 28:07something involved. Yeah, but it'd be the most
- 28:09beneficial thing you could possibly do because you go
- 28:11through the process of assembling it and tuning it and
- 28:14walking you through it will go. So you would be feel a little
- 28:17more comfortable going, hey, maybe this isn't me.
- 28:19Maybe it is actually this. I can check it because I did.
- 28:22It. Once.
- 28:23Right. I mean, that was the the big
- 28:25thing from the Oak Immersion camps that we did is everybody
- 28:28got to go through rebuilding the bow three times because you had
- 28:31three people in your group and you're each rebuilding them and
- 28:33you're helping. Yeah.
- 28:34And by the time you get through the third time, almost every one
- 28:36of them is confident enough to do it themselves.
- 28:38Without assistance, Yeah. And then it becomes something
- 28:41that's not so scary anymore. And that's, I think the biggest
- 28:44part about it is this. It's not something necessarily
- 28:47be afraid of if you take a little bit of time to learn what
- 28:51you're doing just a little bit. It's terrifying though, if you
- 28:53don't know what you're doing and, and it, it throws you into
- 28:57a very mental, like a mental spiral almost.
- 29:00Yeah, if you don't know what you're doing and you start
- 29:02tweaking your bow and you have no idea what you're tweaking and
- 29:05you're like, OK, well, I can't even hit the target now.
- 29:07Well, that's what making, like, making connections is good for.
- 29:10And I'm not talking about everybody's got to go out and
- 29:12make, you know, YouTube connections, but, like, just
- 29:15make a connection with your local bow shop, you know, so
- 29:17you're not afraid to ask for some advice on what you're doing
- 29:20when you're working on your own equipment.
- 29:22Yeah, because once you know, like, then it's less scary, but
- 29:27it is at first. I tell people when they're like,
- 29:29I want to get into bow hunting or shooting a bow, I tell them
- 29:32the right way. Go to your shop and ask David
- 29:35which one all the questions you have, like don't be afraid to
- 29:37ask. I think some people are afraid
- 29:39to look like a newbie or. Most people are afraid to do
- 29:42that. A lot of people would go to like
- 29:44say there's a local guy in the area that works on his own stuff
- 29:48but he's not a shop. I'm waiting to go ask that
- 29:51person advice than they are to walk into the store because they
- 29:53don't want nobody. Everybody wants to look stupid.
- 29:55The best thing you can possibly do is be willing to look like an
- 29:57idiot. I literally go stand behind the
- 29:59counter note now, right next to them as they work on the bow.
- 30:02Yeah. My experience.
- 30:04Some shops I heard. About all.
- 30:05This years because I've been building people's bows for
- 30:08almost 40 years now. The most beneficial thing it
- 30:11taught me is when I walk into something that I don't know, the
- 30:13first thing I do is walk up to the person and say treat me like
- 30:15I'm an idiot. I don't know what I'm doing and
- 30:17I want to learn. It's the best thing you can do.
- 30:20Be humble. Don't be afraid to look stupid.
- 30:22Got that, James? Just say I am a humble popper.
- 30:25Even when I do. Know started from the bottom,
- 30:27really. Still tell them treat me like
- 30:28I'm stupid and I don't know because I want to really learn
- 30:31and there's something I might have missed.
- 30:33Even if I feel confident in it that they're going to tell me
- 30:35that I'm going to go cool. I get that.
- 30:37Because you have to have more of a desire to get better at
- 30:40something than to look stupid. Just people wanting to.
- 30:43Look stupid so much. Well, we did that video on and
- 30:47the virtue when you kind of walk me through it.
- 30:49And since then I've never. Seen you look nervous in my life
- 30:51other than that. Right, right, right.
- 30:53But. Always lose confidence.
- 30:54But you look at me like what? Yeah, yeah.
- 30:56I'm building my own boat. But I'll tell you something cool
- 30:58about it is like from that one time we did that video the other
- 31:03day we're at I think it was like Easter or some shit.
- 31:06We're at my parents house and my brother's lady wanted to shoot a
- 31:09bow. And I was like, well, none of
- 31:11these bows would work. And I was like, well, wait a
- 31:13minute, my dad's bow is 60 LB limbs.
- 31:16I can get her back to where she can pull it and I can just
- 31:19change the draw length right there.
- 31:21And I changed it to where it fit her and I'd lowered the poundage
- 31:24and boom, I got her a bow that was working.
- 31:26And I wouldn't have done it. There's no way I would have done
- 31:28it had we. Exactly.
- 31:31And I was like, it's so easy just to flip the thing around
- 31:33and get it 26 inches from 30. And then I just moved it back
- 31:36for my dad. But to your point, had we not
- 31:39have done that, I wouldn't have done it and she wouldn't have
- 31:41been able to shoot that day. So that's a perfect example I
- 31:44think of why it's nice. Have some sort of knowledge, you
- 31:47know, and yeah, so. Yeah, there's definitely a
- 31:50there's such a learning curve increase by doing it.
- 31:53It just is, you can watch the people that are willing to do it
- 31:55versus not and how much better they get quicker.
- 31:57Yeah. So if you really want to get
- 31:59good at archery, work on your own stuff, period.
- 32:01There's no way around it, which is why I've been saying that as
- 32:03long as I have. And it's scary to shops, right?
- 32:05They don't want, they're afraid that you're not going to need
- 32:08them anymore, right. So they don't want to share
- 32:10those things. They don't want to do that.
- 32:11It's the complete opposite. If you learn how to work on your
- 32:14own stuff and start working on your own stuff, you then become
- 32:17the voice of that community for the people who are afraid.
- 32:20Oh, go talk to him first. And then you're going to turn
- 32:22around, educate him a little bit, and then walk him into the
- 32:25store and go, here's where you should be buying your stuff.
- 32:27These people will take care of it and know what you're doing.
- 32:29Don't be afraid to ask them a question.
- 32:31Yeah, it's the fastest way to grow a community, and that's why
- 32:33we've grown so much. Yeah, it's just like growing
- 32:36reach. Like, you know, growing reach on
- 32:38social media. It's the same exact thing.
- 32:40You're extending that reach for every person who's working on
- 32:43their, their own stuff. Their reach then extends to new
- 32:45people who are asking those questions.
- 32:47And then they come back to that same shop and then the process
- 32:50starts all over for them. And then their reach goes to
- 32:52this, you know, community and then so on and so forth.
- 32:55And it just is a tumble effect. But they're scared though.
- 32:58I don't understand why they're scared because like they're,
- 33:01they're never really going to come back in.
- 33:03They're going to bring someone new who wants a bow now because
- 33:05they they were able to let them play with their bow or whatever.
- 33:09When I think that like. When you were talking about.
- 33:12You go behind the counter. At your boat shop, your little
- 33:14boat. Shop certainly.
- 33:15Ask permission, you know. Obviously, yeah, we have a
- 33:17different relationship, but so I'll just go behind.
- 33:20Our counter and there right there are some shops.
- 33:23Yes, you are. Stand right there and watch
- 33:25this. I'll come by and Bruce's
- 33:26counter. Right, so when we say you know,
- 33:28get in there and learn from your boat decks, it doesn't mean just
- 33:31walk behind their counters. Most of them are pretty high and
- 33:33that's a big no. But like what James did was a
- 33:37perfect example of one time 1 experience he had with you
- 33:41allowed him to have the knowledge to introduce one more
- 33:44person like what Brianna's saying who could introduce like
- 33:47they just had a baby, you know, they could introduce their
- 33:50child. And when you think about the
- 33:52tight niche of the archery community and how that relates
- 33:56like to even smaller percentage of hunters because there are a
- 33:58lot of Archers who are not hunters and that community when
- 34:03it comes to laws, legislations like we need more voters.
- 34:07So we need to be encouraging people.
- 34:10So the more. James harps on there all the
- 34:12time because his channel is geared towards those people.
- 34:15You know, like it's not a hunting.
- 34:17People and more supporting and encouraging.
- 34:19Totally, Yes, Yes, I would say so.
- 34:21I get a lot of comments on my social media like, oh, you don't
- 34:25hunt? Like stop shooting a bow.
- 34:27And I'm like, my goal with my channel isn't to make hunting
- 34:30content or to inspire people to hunt.
- 34:33All I care about is someone picking up a bow and having a
- 34:35good time and going out and shoot, enjoying just shooting a
- 34:39bow. And I hunt.
- 34:40But that doesn't mean that you have to go hunt.
- 34:42You can just pick up a bow and go shoot.
- 34:44Like it's the best form of therapy there is in my opinion.
- 34:47But. Let's make sure it's a like a
- 34:49positive environment, you know? Yeah.
- 34:52I totally agree. I mean, I've always been I mean,
- 34:56sure, we do have some hunts on the channel, quite a few
- 34:59actually, but I've always said like I just want same exact
- 35:02thing Ty just said is like, I just want people to have a lot
- 35:06of fun, whether or not they choose to hunt because I love to
- 35:09just shoot all the time, you know, and I think that it's a
- 35:13great hobby and just really good.
- 35:16So why not get more people into it and just show that it can be
- 35:19a good time? You know, like one of the things
- 35:21I think next year I'm going to like, obviously the past year my
- 35:26growth strategy has been largely based on collaboration.
- 35:29So it kind of really dove into that.
- 35:30But next year I think I really want to start doing some like
- 35:33more high end competitions indoor, go to reading stuff like
- 35:38this Asas maybe, and just be lit because I've heard of those
- 35:42people are kind of wet towels. And I'm like, OK, I'll go make
- 35:44that shit fun too. You know what?
- 35:46I mean, James, if I get disqualified, I might.
- 35:49I might, but I'm going to give it a try because, you know, I
- 35:51want to. I love to compete #1 and want to
- 35:55see what we can do. But I think going in and just
- 35:58being an absolute chaotic riot out there would be pretty fun.
- 36:01Oh dude, that's so awesome. But we'll see.
- 36:04We'll see. But that's in my head what I
- 36:06wanna do. It would be so awesome.
- 36:08I definitely think that would do well.
- 36:10Yeah, I do too. I really do.
- 36:11I think that would do really well, yeah.
- 36:12And I'm also. I think you're.
- 36:14Gonna get less resistance to it than you.
- 36:16Think I think so too, but, and another cool part about it is I
- 36:19always think of, you know, obviously if I, if I get into
- 36:24target really heavy for like a year, it's a whole new audience
- 36:28too introduced to the channel, you know, and we did a little
- 36:31bit with Paige, obviously brought in a target audience,
- 36:33but like to really dive in and do the shoots, I think would be
- 36:37pretty sick. So that's like something I'm I'm
- 36:39very interested in doing. It would be next level content.
- 36:42Yeah, for sure, for sure. It'll just be a raucous dude.
- 36:45That's what I want it to be. I want to make you the most
- 36:48obnoxious jersey, you know, like it'll have your sponsors on
- 36:52there, but like I'm going to put some like also ridiculous stuff
- 36:56on there. You know, it's like, I don't
- 36:59even know, but it's just going to not make any sense at all
- 37:01from the mudflap. Tires, yeah.
- 37:05It's just redneck NASCAR is what I'm looking for.
- 37:09Oh man, that would be horrible. All my logos and just leather
- 37:13patches just all over the outfit is.
- 37:16So great. More like a thing across jersey
- 37:19with the pants too. You know, like a full Moto.
- 37:23People are going to see you walking like what the hell is
- 37:26this? That would be.
- 37:28Fun. So no umbrella, no chair,
- 37:31nothing. David, what time we at probably?
- 37:33Will they close the gates? At 3 more minutes, okay.
- 37:37There was one thing I wanted to dive in to if we have enough.
- 37:40Time, let's say that I think the last subject and then we'll
- 37:43close it. Last subject perfect.
- 37:46So I think it's I think it's really cool to get around guys
- 37:49like you, obviously content creators and stuff.
- 37:51That ego is just growing. And I keep blundering me up.
- 37:54This is actually supposed to be anti ego, but but so all the
- 37:59guys I've hung around with like you, Josh Bomar, like people see
- 38:04you guys on camera and they obviously see you as like this
- 38:08like celebrity type figure, influencer type figure.
- 38:11And when you when you actually get around you guys, it's just
- 38:14like hanging out with the boys. And I think a lot of people on
- 38:19social media think that guys like you who make awesome videos
- 38:23are just oozing to the teeth like with money from social
- 38:26media and stuff. And if they don't realize how
- 38:29much work goes behind the social media and how little money is
- 38:32made behind that all. And so, so, so I just, I wanted
- 38:36to bring that up to like shed some, some light on that because
- 38:39I think people have these false misconceptions.
- 38:42They see all the stuff on social media and think you're making so
- 38:45much money from it. And obviously there's a net
- 38:47value from having social media like you see a net value to your
- 38:52to your archery shops, but you're not, you're not just
- 38:54making hundreds of thousands of dollars from your social media.
- 38:57Video more on my cameraman than I make on social media.
- 39:02Yep, Yep. And that's not accounting for
- 39:04all my equipment, all my gear, all the stuff that I test,
- 39:06etcetera. And before that, when you were
- 39:09editing yourself, you know, like.
- 39:12The time that goes into that, yeah.
- 39:13What's your time work? Well.
- 39:15It's it's a losing proposition if you're just trying to make it
- 39:18on that. It is.
- 39:18Yeah, yeah. So.
- 39:19Oh. She's she's writing.
- 39:21Britney is fighting. So I was full bore real estate
- 39:25right until last year is when I decided to take the Bow
- 39:31Disciples brand full steam, right?
- 39:32And I, I didn't like I always make the joke of and I have a
- 39:37lot of unpaid staff, which is true.
- 39:39And now it's like I'm able to give back to the staff a lot
- 39:42more because I never had any money until like recently and
- 39:45now I do. But it took like 6 years of
- 39:47grinding, editing thousands of videos, growing a website,
- 39:52having Brianna help design cool merch, running a cool event,
- 39:57partnering with great sponsors, but in an ad revenue.
- 40:01Growing is a piece of it that I think a lot of people don't
- 40:03acknowledge, but it's a real thing.
- 40:06All of those things though add up.
- 40:08Like if I only did one of them, I wouldn't make any money.
- 40:12But all of them combined can add up to a pretty good total.
- 40:15But it's not going to happen overnight.
- 40:17I was fully independent for five years.
- 40:19I didn't even do like a product sponsorship because my mindset
- 40:23all along from my bike riding career was that I wanted to
- 40:27build. The brand very large 1st and
- 40:31then align with brands that fit what I wanted to do and also
- 40:36like the contracts were what I was looking for, you know what I
- 40:39mean? So yeah, I think it's I think
- 40:43it's a journey and I think that it's definitely possible.
- 40:47If I can do it, anyone can do it.
- 40:49You know, I mean no one watched our videos for like 4 years
- 40:52really and then all with a sudden people started to watch
- 40:56them and just connecting with it.
- 40:59But there's so much more to it than just pumping out videos.
- 41:02But what I will say is that without the videos, none of the
- 41:08other stuff works. We don't have an event with 400
- 41:10people here without the videos. We don't have a website that
- 41:14does good money if we don't do the videos and we definitely
- 41:17don't have sponsorships if we don't do the videos.
- 41:19So to me, content is always king and I never neglect it.
- 41:24So like, I do still to this day edit everything and I mean, I'm
- 41:29pumping out usually 2 shorts a day and I post them on TikTok,
- 41:33Instagram, Facebook, YouTube +2 full length videos every single
- 41:37week and I never stop. Yeah.
- 41:40And that's it. There's no secret sauce to it.
- 41:42I mean, sure, I think I some people are more blessed with
- 41:45maybe a more fun personality to watch or more talent.
- 41:48Like that's a real thing. She's sitting.
- 41:51She's sitting next to you some. People are good on camera and
- 41:54some people. Are yeah, exactly, but like the
- 41:56effort and the grind, to Ty's point, it just takes time, but
- 41:59it's to me it's worth it. I was gonna I wanted to speak to
- 42:04this topic and then you said what you said.
- 42:06I was like, well, maybe I won't, but I will in in not exactly to
- 42:12the like to speak in the matter of money and confidence, but
- 42:17like the character persona that some people perceive when
- 42:20they're watching these videos. And like you said it, the videos
- 42:24are necessary, but it's like remembering that like because
- 42:29I've known some people who have watched your videos and they've
- 42:32been like that guy's too much. He's this or that.
- 42:35And The thing is that he he is a lot.
- 42:40But when you also off camera, like when you're here, he is a
- 42:46lot. But but what he's doing is
- 42:48giving back. It's growing the community like
- 42:50to speak to you as a person. Once I met James for real, Like
- 42:53I I Brandon have been dating him for several years, two years
- 42:56before I actually met James. She's just getting it away
- 42:59constantly. It's a bit.
- 43:00We've been running for four years now that nobody knows if
- 43:03we're actually together or not. And you just blew it up on
- 43:07multiple podcasts. People don't know.
- 43:09That no, I think they. Do pretty much at this point,
- 43:11but we still get a lot of comments that are like, oh.
- 43:14They know now. They know now.
- 43:16I certainly hope they knew, but anyways.
- 43:18But by the time I finally met James and they actually lived in
- 43:21separate houses to give them the illusion back that like James
- 43:26was the chillest, like most supportive, encouraging person
- 43:30on the course. Like, you know, he's, he's still
- 43:33a bottle of energy. He's but that, you know, that's
- 43:36just who he is. Like he's still a human being.
- 43:38And started to think of people, maybe watch videos and they
- 43:41build these people up to be like, you know, can I even
- 43:44approach that person like there's, you know, full of money
- 43:46and confidence. Like we're still just people.
- 43:49Like we're just people out to like, encourage other people and
- 43:52be good people. So, and let me, let me add to
- 43:55that. Perfect.
- 43:56So the reality of that situation for people who are afraid to
- 43:59come up and talk to you, right? Well, here's the reality.
- 44:02If that person's authentically who they are, they're going to
- 44:05want you to come up and talk to them.
- 44:06Yep. And you should be able to
- 44:08experience that without worry or fear.
- 44:11Now, if you come up, go up and talk to somebody and it feels
- 44:13awkward to feel like they're trying to leave or they're not
- 44:15trying to interact with you, that person is not really who
- 44:17they are. And then you learn what that
- 44:18person really is, and it'll help benefit who you should be
- 44:21looking after, who you should, because we're all authentic
- 44:24people. You're out.
- 44:25I mean, I don't know Ty, but I'm willing to bet he.
- 44:27Is. I think he seems authentic,
- 44:29genuinely. Yeah, yeah.
- 44:30Because like his contact. Who he is on or off the camera.
- 44:33And you all know me. I'm the same guy on and off the
- 44:35camera. I'm no different, right?
- 44:37So go up and talk to those people.
- 44:39That's important. To know who they are better, and
- 44:41then you'll have a better idea of who you should be looking up
- 44:43to and who you should. For me, for me, that's so that's
- 44:45important actually, that's like a big reason why I like to do
- 44:48this event and go to TAC because I love to mingle with people and
- 44:51that and I know you do too and like you know we're.
- 44:54Always the two that people are trying to get to leave.
- 44:55Oh, of course, yeah. You can't get me to leave unless
- 44:58it's pouring rain and my camera's getting blasted.
- 45:00But other than that, yeah. But that was the.
- 45:02First time I went to one where we didn't like.
- 45:04Hang out for I know. Yeah, I was bummed about it,
- 45:07but. Yeah, we did what we did what we
- 45:09could, you know? But but yeah, I mean, to me,
- 45:10it's so important because I, I have so much respect and I'm so
- 45:15grateful to everyone that's supported the channel and the
- 45:20brand for all these years that I love to get to mingle in person,
- 45:25you know, and to me, that's really important.
- 45:27So I will attack. I'll just stand in the vendor
- 45:29area and talk to people. And even if I see someone
- 45:32looking at me, I can tell they want to talk to me, but they're
- 45:34maybe scared I'll just go up to them.
- 45:36I was like, I want to make sure I can meet people and you know,
- 45:40build an in person connection. Yeah, at the end of the day, the
- 45:43content is made for them. Like you're doing all of this
- 45:46for those people. Yep.
- 45:48And you know what? I hate to just pull an abrupt
- 45:51plug, but I'm going to. That almost sounded like I said
- 45:54something else. But anyway, we're going to cut
- 45:55this pod off Appreciate. I'm a big Thai Jordan fan.
- 45:59I can say that now. It's a really cool.
- 46:01Name. It's a really cool name.
- 46:02I met. I met Thai one time.
- 46:05When did I meet you Thai? I met you in last year.
- 46:08Last year, attack in Utah. Yeah.
- 46:10Yeah. So I met Ty one time, but this
- 46:12is the first time we really got to hang out.
- 46:13So good guy. Be sure to check him out.
- 46:15Of course, Josh Legend as well. And Brittany Jean Outdoors.
- 46:20She'll probably change the name here in a couple weeks 13 more
- 46:23times. So anyway, you check out our
- 46:24videos and Brianna, the the glue that holds it all together.
- 46:28Yeah. And we'll see you in the next
- 46:30podcast. Appreciate y'all.
