- 0:11ahead across the city. I'm Carol. It's Wednesday,

- 0:19Police and Downtown Commons are opening a new
- 0:22Sacramento Police Department bike unit office
- 0:24at 320 K Street, giving officers a dedicated
- 0:28launch point in the downtown core. The Sacramento
- 0:31Police say that the space will boost visibility
- 0:34and response times, while DOCO leaders call it
- 0:38a shared commitment to a safer, more vibrant
- 0:40plaza. The bike unit is expected to be fully
- 0:44operational from its new location in early 2026.
- 0:48Meanwhile, elsewhere in the city, last night
- 0:51there was a report of a woman being robbed for
- 0:55money at gunpoint in the areas of Siskiyou Avenue
- 0:58and 23rd Avenue and Siskiyou Boulevard. Neighbors
- 1:04report they're hearing that there was a chase.
- 1:07It is unclear at this time whether there was
- 1:09a suspect apprehended. Elsewhere, officers responded
- 1:15to vandalism call in Northfield Drive Monday
- 1:18afternoon. While on scene, they saw the suspect
- 1:21escalate and assault the victim. When officers
- 1:24moved in, the suspect ran, but after a short
- 1:28foot chase pursuit, they safely were taken into
- 1:31custody and booked into juvenile hall on multiple
- 1:33charges. Earlier that morning, officers stopped
- 1:37a suspicious person at 5600 Stockton Boulevard.
- 1:42The individual also tried to run but was quickly
- 1:45detained. Officers say the suspect attempted
- 1:48to toss narcotics during the chase. Those drugs
- 1:51were recovered and the suspect was arrested on
