John 8:12 Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, "I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life." It’s hard to tell whether Jesus immediately spoke to the crowd that remained after the woman’s accusers left the scene, or if this occurred at another time. It is believed that John 8:1-11 was a later addition to the gospel, however, it certainly flows in a line of reason from the events of chapter 7 and those of this chapter.
