- 0:09happened to be a farmer. This is my chicken coop and I
- 0:12come out here every day to. Record a podcast to.
- 0:15Teach distinctions, possibilities, new ways of
- 0:18thinking, and just bring some joy.
- 0:20Into the world. So welcome to the coop, and
- 0:23let's start your day off in a fantastic way.
- 0:27Hey everybody good. Morning from a very foggy foggy
- 0:32outside of on my farm. It is glorious how the fog
- 0:38changes things and you walk outside, you hear I heard it
- 0:41first. I opened my app, I listened to
- 0:44what was happening for weather and I was like, oh, fog walked
- 0:47outside and the sky is bright because of the moon and the fog
- 0:52is just, I can't even explain it.
- 0:56It's so cool how you can still see, but you have this different
- 1:01perspective and it really just made me stop and go.
- 1:05This is one of those awe moments of beauty and it makes me again
- 1:10remember how we need those throughout our days all the
- 1:14time. And that's the first part of
- 1:16this. Remember, find an awe moment
- 1:18today. Go and seek an awe moment out
- 1:20whether and it's all around us in nature.
- 1:22You just have to find it and look and it, it's in the small
- 1:25things. So look down, really look down
- 1:28because I'm telling you, sometimes you see the most
- 1:30amazing things. And, and here we are in January
- 1:33and I saw dandelions blooming and I was just like, wow, look
- 1:38at that. The resilience of blooming after
- 1:40the frost and all the other things that have been going on
- 1:42here and they're blooming. Another odd moment.
- 1:46Now let's take this one step further.
- 1:48Let's use this fog as a really interesting lesson.
- 1:51I can look at the same view that I'm looking at right now every
- 1:55day and it doesn't look the same.
- 1:57And the fog comes in and people tend to be very, very
- 2:02uncomfortable in fog because you can't see where you're going.
- 2:06You can't see how far ahead. We hear the weatherman say
- 2:09there's only X amount of visibility.
- 2:12And if you're not driving, it really is something to behold
- 2:16how it shifts our entire environment.
- 2:19And it made me really concentrate and think about the
- 2:22fact that where else do these things show up in our lives?
- 2:25Something comes in and it could be deemed terrible, but then it
- 2:29makes us stop and pause and go, huh.
- 2:33I just recently was talking to a client who came down with a very
- 2:38intense stomach situation and has to have tests on it and all
- 2:43this stuff. And this is a person who never
- 2:45stops. She's one of the most incredible
- 2:48people I have ever had the privilege of meeting coaching.
- 2:52Just adore this person. And this whole thing made her
- 2:56slow down right? Like the fog coming in.
- 2:59But the good part of it is it it because of the concentration of
- 3:04it, because it was so intense, it stopped her from constantly
- 3:09spinning. It changed her pattern.
- 3:11It shifted her, and she is relaxed.
- 3:14She actually relaxed, which is the exact opposite you think
- 3:18would happen to somebody who's in this situation.
- 3:21You think maybe she'd speed up, maybe she'd panic just like
- 3:25somebody might in fog. But guess what?
- 3:27She didn't, she slowed down and she's starting to heal her.
- 3:31Things are starting to get back to normal.
- 3:34And what's crazy about this? It's like the sun coming up, you
- 3:38know, it's it, it's really bad when it's foggy and it's dark,
- 3:41like right now it's really dark and it's foggy.
- 3:43So it can be double scary. But when the sun comes up, oh,
- 3:47that lighting. Oh, the shifts, oh, the change.
- 3:50So you have to remember, sometimes these foggy situations
- 3:56are really here to help us slow down, take account, look at
- 3:59things differently, see how things can be observed from a
- 4:04different angle, from a different perspective, in a
- 4:06completely different way. Isn't that fascinating?
- 4:09To me, that's just one of the most beautiful aspects of
- 4:13noticing things around you. So it, it isn't just about
- 4:19powering through it all the time.
- 4:21You know, we're going to have to drive in this this morning to
- 4:24take my son to work. He has his permit.
- 4:27My initial thing is like, OK, I am not going to let him drive
- 4:30today. And then I was like, why?
- 4:31He has to learn to drive in it. Like we have to learn to let him
- 4:34drive in it. I have to release that.
- 4:37So I have to come out of my fog of saying protect, protect,
- 4:40protect and let him drive in it. And isn't it funny how we use
- 4:44that phrase, oh, you got to come out of the fog, you're in the
- 4:47fog. You know, we, we use everything
- 4:50around us, but we don't notice everything around us.
- 4:54So I am, you know, I am going to let him drive today.
- 4:59I'm going to give him the opportunity to drive in the fog
- 5:01and see how he does. I'm going to be patient with it.
- 5:04And I'm going to be in awe of how nature consistently provides
- 5:09us these opportunities to recognize and cross pollinate
- 5:12these beliefs and ideas and thoughts over from it.
- 5:16And if we just take the time to notice, if we just have the
- 5:20ability and the wherewithal to just slow down enough to take a
- 5:24quick notice, boy, can it help us and change us.
- 5:28All right, my friends, I hope you have a blessed day and I
- 5:32will see you tomorrow. Bye.
