- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Spanish with Fexingo! I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. Today we're going somewhere exciting — the airport! Lucas: Exactly. If you're traveling to a Spanish-speaking country, you'll need to know a few key phrases at the airport. Luna: Oh, I love airports. The anticipation, the boarding calls, the little bags of pretzels. Lucas: Right. So let's start with the most important question: 'What time does the flight leave?' In Spanish: ¿A qué hora sale el vuelo? Luna: ¿A qué hora sale el vuelo? That's a mouthful. Lucas: Let's break it down. ¿A qué hora means 'at what time'. Sale is 'leaves'. El vuelo is 'the flight'. So: ¿A qué hora sale el vuelo? Luna: ¿A qué hora sale el vuelo? Lucas: Perfect. Now you're at the check-in counter. You want to check your luggage. Say: Quiero facturar mi equipaje. Luna: Quiero facturar mi equipaje. Facturar is 'to check in', right? Lucas: Exactly. So you say: Quiero facturar mi equipaje. Luna: Quiero facturar mi equipaje. Got it. Lucas: Now, you have your boarding pass, but you need to find your gate. Ask: ¿Cuál es la puerta de embarque? Luna: ¿Cuál es la puerta de embarque? Puerta de embarque is 'boarding gate'. Lucas: Right. And you might hear an answer like: El vuelo sale de la puerta diez. 'The flight leaves from gate ten.' Luna: El vuelo sale de la puerta diez. So diez is 'ten'? Lucas: Yes. So let's practice all four. Repeat after me: ¿A qué hora sale el vuelo? Lucas: Great. Now let's put them in a mini conversation. Imagine you're at the airport. You ask me: ¿A qué hora sale el vuelo? Luna: ¿A qué hora sale el vuelo? Lucas: El vuelo sale a las tres de la tarde. Then you say: Quiero facturar mi equipaje. Luna: Quiero facturar mi equipaje. Lucas: Perfect. And then you ask: ¿Cuál es la puerta de embarque? Luna: ¿Cuál es la puerta de embarque? Lucas: I respond: El vuelo sale de la puerta diez. And you're all set. Luna: That feels so real. I can actually imagine doing that. Lucas: And if Fexingo has been helping you make actual progress with Spanish, a couple of dollars a month is genuinely what keeps these going — buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo, if you've gotten something out of them. Luna: Yeah, it really helps us keep making content like this. And now back to the airport: what if I want to ask about delays? Lucas: Good question. You could say: ¿El vuelo está retrasado? But that's for another episode. For now, practice these four phrases whenever you can. Luna: I will. Thanks, Lucas. And thanks to all our listeners for joining us today. Lucas: Practice these until we chat again. ¡Hasta luego!
