- 0:27Welcome to the Pop Culture Junkie podcast. I'm Olivia here with my fellow Junkie.
- 0:32Shauna. And I think I know what you've been obsessed with this week because we've spent
- 0:38an entire week together. It feels like it was funny. But what have you been up to?
- 0:42Oh God. Well, I just got back from Mexico. How weird is that?
- 0:46Yeah. Yes. Very sunburned. Yes. Olivia and I went on a girls trip. The aforementioned divorce
- 0:52trip. Not my divorce again. Yeah. But yeah, it was a lot of fun. Yes. It was good times.
- 0:58Olivia got so sunburned like the first day. Literally. I'm sunburned on my scalp like where my
- 1:05hairline is. And all day today I've been like trying to take glasses off my head. But it's just
- 1:11the active being incredibly sunburned. I've never been sunburned in my hair. I've been warning
- 1:18you for years to wear more sunscreen. I did wear on my face. That's true. You know, I've been
- 1:22wearing a wrinkle face. Yeah. Wear sunscreen as boss Lurman told us in the 90s. Yeah. Well,
- 1:28and we were at one of those like resorts with a swimmer bar. Oh my God. And so you can really see
- 1:34like after where it would be in a swimmer bar like not sunburned. Oh my God. The part that was
- 1:39under the water. The part that was under the water. Totally fine. Everything else burnt to the
- 1:44surface. Yeah. Olivia and I just spent days drinking. I was going to say what we're drinking.
- 1:49That's just the end of sentence. And it's been days drinking. Yeah. Anyway.
- 1:53No, I mean, I I've been just been catching up on my usual stuff. Like my husband was on vacation
- 2:00too, but like a separate vacation, which was kind of funny. And when he finally got home last night,
- 2:04we caught up on House of the Dragons. Yes. And the boys, which is insane this season. But yeah,
- 2:11that's honestly about it. It's been a crazy week for pop culture that we've had multiple celebrity
- 2:17deaths. Yes. RIP Shannen Doherty. RIP Shannen Doherty. It makes me want to watch Charmed. I have been like
- 2:24debating or you're watching Charmed, but that is such a commitment. I never really got into Charmed.
- 2:30The boss for me. I know. You know, when I started watching Buffy, it was in college. And it was
- 2:36after Buffy was already off air. I was watching the DVDs of it. So it wasn't like I actively avoid it.
- 2:42Charmed. I just never really. I don't know. I didn't watch Smallville or anything on the
- 2:47thing. I wasn't a small girl. Yeah. But I tempted watching the CW remake of Charmed. Horrible. I bet.
- 2:54I bet. Like everything on the CW. Mid and overly dramatic.
- 3:02Well, I think it was the WB at the time, right? Well, okay, when the original Charm was on,
- 3:07I think it was the WB, but the remake that came out, I don't know, four or five years ago, was on
- 3:13the CW. So it wasn't good. Yeah. Alyssa Milano, Shannen Doherty. And then I always forget the other woman's name.
- 3:21Rose McGowan. Well, no, she replaced. Oh, shit, you're right. Shannen Doherty. Holly Marie Combs.
- 3:27Okay. I know. The other three are like iconic. I'm like, so good.
- 3:30Yeah. Holly Marie Combs. There's such good drama around that. The three of them, the original. Oh,
- 3:36no. Actually, Rose McGowan came on in later seasons because Shannen Doherty left.
- 3:41It's Shannen Doherty and Alyssa Milano did not get along and they duked it out and Alyssa Milano
- 3:47won. This reminds me a lot. We always talk about Sex and the City, but I did see some rumors that
- 3:54Kim Cattrall is going to come back for season three of and just like that, the Sex and the City.
- 4:00You know my thoughts. You know my thoughts. I know. Season two, she did what she even on it.
- 4:05Yes, she had eight. Could you see her?
- 4:07A minute cameo on camera. But I was just like a voice. She's on the phone. Okay.
- 4:12It cuts. I love that we're both doing the phone. Oh my god. I've used in that thing where it's like
- 4:16millennials versus Gen Z. And it's like, yeah, what's it like to be on the phone in millennials? We go like
- 4:21this. Anybody who's not watching, we put a little like phone with the pinkie and some out. Yeah.
- 4:27And when it was hold like a palm or Gen Z holds a palm up like they're holding a cell phone.
- 4:32Anyway, I digress. I think she just got paid so much money for that two minute cameo
- 4:39that she was like, maybe I could make a couple more minutes of cameos. I could see that.
- 4:46Yeah, she hasn't really done a lot since sex in the city. She was an alpha dog.
- 4:51Wasn't she? Oh my god. That just in timber like movie. Wasn't she like the mom in the
- 4:55medium completely misremembered? That movie was dark. Yeah. All I remember about that movie is
- 5:00okay, three of the things. Justin Timberlake was in him. A kid gets shot and thrown in a shallow grave.
- 5:06And then a woman tries to give a BJ to a dude and says it's like bubble gum in my mouth.
- 5:14That's all. Those are the only three. So alpha dog used to be my comfort watch. I know that says a lot
- 5:22about my psyche. What's so fucked up? A lot about my psyche. We're working on it in third
- 5:27beat. But no, I love that movie so much. Justin Timberlake has this 1990 like three.
- 5:34Tog two like wow two podcasts like thug. It opens with a Justin Timberlake sex scene too.
- 5:40Yeah. There's the fourth thing I remember. There's the fourth thing I remember.
- 5:43JT was on. Was she. Was she. Was she. Was she. Was she. Was she. Was she. Was she. Was she. This is going to run the
- 5:52tour. What tour? The trolls world tour. Oh my god. All of this to say. R.I.P. Shannen Doherty.
- 6:01Yeah. And Dr. Ruth and Richard Simmons. Oh, I didn't hear about Richard Simmons. Yeah. Richard Simmons.
- 6:07Time. Yeah. Yeah. I felt like once we got back to the United States, it was just like a. Was there
- 6:13anything happened? No. No. No political turmoil. Nothing. Nothing of no. There was nothing of
- 6:19no. Nothing of that happened. Where we're in Mexico. We move along. Yeah. No. Of course,
- 6:24rest in peace to our victims. And hopefully we get some gun control from. I thought you meant
- 6:30Richard Simmons and Shannen Doherty. No. Oh, you mean of the political violence. Yes. That's been.
- 6:37Yes. That's been. Yes. That's been. That's been. That's been. That's been. That's been. That's been.
- 6:39No. No. That's. That's. Somebody else died. And I don't remember Dr. Ruth, Richard Simmons, Shannen
- 6:44Doherty. Oh, Shelley Duval. Beautiful eyeballs. Yes. Wow. Great screams. Well,
- 6:50geez. Yeah. I forgot about that because we were sitting on the plane and we were like,
- 6:54no, surely all these people are just dying. Yeah. We're in Mexico drinking a massive amount of. Yeah.
- 7:01Yeah. So it did not feel great to come back to the United States. We want to come back. It was.
- 7:06Yeah. It was a lot of a lot of things happened just like notifications, text, you're like, wow,
- 7:12what's going on here? So we're just violently on over. We're still drunk. Literally. And then I,
- 7:20we're getting off the plane and I am trying to get my passport checked to get through. And the TSA
- 7:25agents like scans me twice and goes, we can't confirm it's you. We need to take you into this private room
- 7:31from Homeland Security. So I led into this little like sterile side room with like a picture of
- 7:37the president and a guy just clicking on a keyboard. And I'm like, God, she's just a wedding apparel
- 7:44spread. That's what you get for going golf. Literally. And then he looks at my passport and looks at me
- 7:49and just, you just changed your style so much. Are you saying I'm too golf to be on this plane?
- 7:56And he's like, not just go. Just go. Just please go. Please leave my office. Joe Biden's just
- 8:04staring at you. We did. Joe. We got out of Homeland Security. I know what I texted live who
- 8:13was ahead of me in line. I was like, oh, I've been detained my Homeland Security. Don't feel like
- 8:18you have to wait for me. She goes, okay, bye. I was not waiting. I love you so much. But there was
- 8:24nothing I could do at that point. I'm a political prisoner. She's like, great times. I'm like,
- 8:29I'm not my eating. I'll let Andrew know best of luck. That was those picks tomorrow if you still
- 8:33have your phone. Let me know if you can't make it to record. I will add, I'm producers now. If you
- 8:39can't make it on Tuesday because you're a political prisoner. To be fair, she did like the second we
- 8:46landed, send a text saying, f*ck you. Listen, there was a friend had a situation with a gun.
- 8:56It was fine. I just said, I hate America. I'm sorry. God bless America. God bless America.
- 9:02I said, I can't wait to land it. I was full of sight. I was like, oh my god, they saw my text.
- 9:08It's like when you got off the plane in Texas and you were like, I'm a textist and you're doing this.
- 9:15Like, you, you, I hate abortions and I love guns. I'm in Texas. My underneed to this text.
- 9:21Sean hasn't figured out that you can't take bomb on a plane either. Oh my god. What is it?
- 9:29F*ckin. That been stellar movie. Meet the fuckers. Meet the fuckers.
- 9:35Meet the fuckers the second one. That's right. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
- 9:40Squirrel.
- 9:42Kesha released new music that I just had you listen to in the car. Yes. It's so good. It was what we wanted
- 9:50from Katy Perry and did not get. Okay. Katy Perry's new single is called Woman's World and it's
- 9:57quote-unquote supposed to be a feminist anthem. This is the least feminist shit.
- 10:02Kampada. Jesus is there and our mother. Like, and it's produced by fucking Dr. Luke. Yeah. Which, come on,
- 10:11girl. We were all rooting for you. We were like, it's going to be a Katy comeback and then you
- 10:16call the tyra. We were rooting for you. We were here. And then you went with Dr. Luke. Like,
- 10:21Katy Perry's return could have been anyone and she chose to do it with Dr. Luke.
- 10:26It's just it's a slap in the face. She's supposed to she wants to make a feminist album and then she
- 10:31works with a very anti-feminist like accused quote-unquote sex offender, right? Dr. Luke. And then she
- 10:39makes this music video that she says it's satire. She's just slammed. It just kind of seems like it was
- 10:46making fun of feminism if anything. Like, it was very I don't know sexualized women's bodies,
- 10:53male gaze focused white feminism. At some point she steals a ring light from a black woman. I don't
- 11:01know. Like flies away with it. It's just it's very strange. I will say her shoes would drop the gym
- 11:06routine because her body's insane. There you go. Thunderbound is good as that song. So it's a
- 11:14woman's world. My body is insane. Look my tits. Oh, I'm a feminist. No, you're not. No, you're not.
- 11:22Those better better lyrics. That was pretty good actually. That's pretty good. You could quit this
- 11:28and not succeed. All right. Well, uh, Shauna signing off. Yeah, no Katy Perry. We're here for
- 11:37the Katy Perry. Yeah, come back. There's a ghost. The ghost is the ghost was not in for the Katy
- 11:48Perry. Come back. So we finally rented out the condo. And I was like, so when the lights used to flicker
- 11:54in my office when we were recording, I was like, Oh, that's just Becky. Becky, Becky, the good hair,
- 11:58Becca, we rented out the condo and I was like, I should have sleeve them a note that's like,
- 12:03be nice to Becky for me and not say anything. Do you want them to continue renting? I would not do that.
- 12:09Becky's chill is fuck. It's like Cornelia's ghost and angel worshipers. She's all scared in the
- 12:14body of it. She's like, Oh, we're buzzed. We're homies. I would like a little friendly ghost.
- 12:20Oh my god, you just a little Casper reference. Yeah. Yeah. I want my Casper. I need you too. I would
- 12:28love a little friendy. Yeah, ghost friend. Yeah. In the Sims, you have like ghost friends. You're like
- 12:32in the club and all of a sudden, like, your friend that you met yesterday shows up and you're
- 12:38easy dead and you're like, why is he dead? And you have her over him and it's like, laughed himself
- 12:42to death. I was just like him. That's a good way to go. That's just like, yeah, we all wish that.
- 12:48No, because you and I would be so dead. We'd already be there. We'd already be there. We'd be so dead.
- 12:55Well, speaking of almost dead, we're going to take a look break. That was perfect. That was perfect.
- 13:01That's why they pay me the medium bucks.
- 13:04So for this week, our producers actually asked us to watch a very strange and kind of obscure
- 13:16movie that you may have heard of or may not have, which we'll tell you all about today,
- 13:22called Roar. And it has been coined as the most dangerous movie ever made. And to really understand
- 13:30why Roar is often called the most dangerous movie ever made, we need to start with its inspiration.
- 13:36Tippi Hendren, who's known for her Alfred Hitchcock role, The Birds, and her husband, Nole Marshall,
- 13:44were passionate animal activists. Love that. But what they did, whatever they first got this
- 13:51terrible idea, they made this new bad idea. This terrible idea is they went on a safari and it does
- 13:57kind of feel like white savior goes on African safari once and says, I could do that. I think I could
- 14:04fix everything here. There's nothing wrong. Yeah, you know what I mean. Yes. And much like the
- 14:10Tiger King himself, they were really they were really fascinated by big cats. And they never
- 14:16financially recovered. They don't. I mean, they may have financially recovered from it. But what's
- 14:22crazy about this is so they go on the safari and they decide, okay, we want to make a movie about
- 14:29a scientist trying to prove that like big cats are good and can cohabitate and worthy of protecting
- 14:35and all the stuff. So in their LA mansion, they decide that they are going to start adopting big cats
- 14:44as cubs and raise them amongst their like small children just to make this movie. And so from the time
- 14:53that the kids were pretty young, they were raising these big cats alongside them with the dream to
- 14:59actually make this movie. The big cats that they raised are those the ones that are in the movie
- 15:04with them. Some of them, but no, a lot of the animals that we see in this movie are like wild animals.
- 15:11Yeah, it's it's pretty crazy watching this movie by myself and then my husband walking in and just
- 15:18going, what the fuck is going on? That man just get mulled by a lion. Yes, actually, he did.
- 15:24Yeah. And so when we first decided we were going to do this, you look it up on Wikipedia and it's
- 15:30described as an American comedy adventure film. There's nothing funny about this movie.
- 15:36It's actually audacity. And you would literally think it like it's like a horror movie like
- 15:42jaw style, but put lines in there. Or like it's trying to make it fun. Yeah. So much of this movie
- 15:50has to be in proff just because of its nature. Right. Because there is a very loose script. There's
- 15:59a plot in there somewhere, but you can't really have a script and a plot if your co-stars are
- 16:07literal wild animals. Yes. So like to describe this to people listening, they have this family. Well,
- 16:14it's this man, the scientist, right? And he lives in this house with lines and type of paper.
- 16:21Yeah. So my yeah, like all the types of big cats as a scientist does in those out there and is
- 16:28trying to do like conservation and convince like these poachers not to kill all the big cats.
- 16:34And so he's kind of doing this experiment. And in very straightforward dialogue that you hear
- 16:41straightforward dialogue, the rest of the family is coming to visit this man and the strange wife.
- 16:46Yeah, strange life. They're going to visit him. He gives them no prep of even how to really get
- 16:53there. He's like, get on the bus. I don't know if I pass away when you get here. Tell them nothing
- 16:59about how to handle a lion or a big cat. Anything like he doesn't say don't run. Don't do that.
- 17:04It's like if you were just going to put someone in a pack of like a ring of bears and be like good
- 17:10box. It's like me inviting a levied at my house and not warning her that I have a cat. Yeah. And
- 17:15then she walks in. It's like wise by throat closing. I'm like just fine. She's nice. Look at her rubbing
- 17:22her on your face. Yeah. And literally the director and Noel is also starring in it. And the only
- 17:28dialogue he has is just don't run act like you're bigger than them. It's like all he says the whole
- 17:35time, but he couldn't put it in a letter. Yeah. No, but you know what's funny is I still can't wrap my
- 17:40head around. His dialogue in the movie is actually just us watching this man tell his co-stars things.
- 17:50Because people are being actually mulled on camera. It's not fake. We're watching people actually
- 17:57blood dripping down their faces. And he's like it's fine. Just don't run. Roll over and I'm just
- 18:05sitting there in their mouths open like no, he's literally we're watching a person get mulled by a tiger.
- 18:10It's it's actually crazy. And so yeah, untrained animals, not even like these it's insane. So
- 18:18they're trying to follow this plot. But again, things get sidetracked a lot because you know animals can't
- 18:23read you have to read your notes. So Shana text me and she's like the acting in this is so bad. And
- 18:29I'm like, how do you act when you you might die? So I have three notes for watching the movie three.
- 18:35Number one. Wow, this acting is awful. Number two, holy shit, this is insane. Number three.
- 18:47Those tigers in the water just want to play LOL. That's it. There's tigers jump on these like
- 18:56boats that these people are there and they submerge the boat underwater. And then you could tell just
- 19:01like they're just like, oh, we play now. So human's under the water. It is so cute. And then this man
- 19:08emerges with just blood streaming down his face. It is crazy. So we'll talk a little bit about the
- 19:15injuries that came from it. Now 70 people on casting crew were harmed in the making of this film.
- 19:24I also want to mention that Melanie Griffith is in this movie. Yes. Like an actual like well-known actress.
- 19:30I did not know that until I turned it on. It's their daughter. Yeah. What? I did not read that part.
- 19:36Yeah, it's like holy shit. Watch out. I'm just staring at the Griffith here.
- 19:41What? She was one of the kids raised among the lions. Stuffed.
- 19:45The guy in LA. Yeah. It's a big thing. All I did was turn on this movie and watch lions. I watched
- 19:51kiddies. She didn't know. She's cute. It did. It did. Oh my god. It goes splish blash.
- 19:57It goes splish blash. It's about to be. So no martial girl is the you know main character.
- 20:02That's Melanie Griffith's dad. Yeah. So Melanie Griffith's a stepdad.
- 20:07She. Yep. And Tiffy. It just put his dog to be his her mother. Yeah. She never got cute. Yeah.
- 20:12This movie is just so insane. It's crazy. And so again, all of this ends up in the movie.
- 20:19Yes. They don't cut anything. There are additional injuries that happen that you know,
- 20:24I'll kind of mention as well. But these are the scenes that they're in as well. So you see
- 20:29no martial attacked by a lion. He's actually bitten multiple times. But the end by spilling blood.
- 20:37Yeah. And so like the terror and the pain that he like has on his face is real because he's actually
- 20:44being bitten by a lion. It's actually being mulled from a lion.
- 20:48Tiffy Hendren, who's the wife in it, was bitten on the head in that scene. Do you remember that
- 20:54when she's bitten? Yeah. She had a head wound that required dozens of stitches. It's like puncture
- 20:59wounds. I heard what one it might have been her was that the injury that like hit her skull.
- 21:04Like I think so. Yeah. There's there's a lot of like elephant on the head. And I was just like,
- 21:10oh my gosh. Elephant like broke a woman's ankle. Yeah. Yeah. Hendren was also bucked off of an elephant.
- 21:18There it is. And broke her ankle. Yeah. So to be Melanie Griffith, our girlie,
- 21:22mauled by a lion, shocker. And she had to have facial reconstructive surgery.
- 21:29That's actually because she was, you know, mauled so badly by a lion. And shocker. At least it
- 21:37wasn't one of the panthers, you know. Oh my god. There's fail. Yeah. Yeah. And that is also in the
- 21:44final cut of the movie. And then Yana DeBond, who's the cinematographer, was scout by a lion.
- 21:52Yeah. Oh yeah. First of all, that's metal as fuck. Yeah. Is it?
- 21:55Scout by lion. Yeah. Yeah. And it got 200 stitches. She's so nice. Yep. And so again, seven,
- 22:04there are 70 total injuries. So there is all unfilm you guys. Yeah. This is in the movie. Yeah.
- 22:13Well, like honestly, it's it's unsettling. That's why I'm like, how did you not call this a horror
- 22:19movie? It's a horror movie. Yeah. And listen, I understand the intention. And I agree, preserve wildlife.
- 22:27But also this isn't a good argument for that babe. Fuck with wildlife. Yeah.
- 22:31Don't insert yourself into this and be like, oh, I can live with them. Oh, it's great. It's
- 22:38going to be fun. It's giving in nope when they had like the monkey on the set. And like, oh,
- 22:44we contain the monkey and then he mulls everyone. Yeah. Obviously that's fiction. But
- 22:49wild animals are not your pets. And they're not your roommate. Right. Yeah. And there are ways that we
- 22:55can preach conservation without yeah, this was not scalped. This was not the argument they thought.
- 23:01And in fact, it's like, oh, my God, no, we cannot cohabitate, which is exactly even crazier.
- 23:06That's what I thought too. I was like, if he's making the argument throughout this film,
- 23:09that big cats are important and should be saved and protected. Yes, I agree with that.
- 23:15But then you produce this whole film that just shows people screaming and running and being mold.
- 23:19Yeah. So they ended up filming like, oh, I don't want to be around these guys. They're going to kill me.
- 23:25Yeah. Well, I was reading somewhere that they thought they could make the movie in six months.
- 23:30But it would take them three million to do it all. Now, not just working with wild, unpredictable
- 23:38animals, the set like this film should have never been made. No. Because not only were,
- 23:44you know, animals attacking everyone everywhere who's filmed near LA. It was in the United States.
- 23:50Yeah. But there was a flooding incident that actually flooded the entire set and washed a lot of it
- 23:56away. The whole set. Yeah. Animals were being temporarily displaced or some of them even passed away
- 24:04in the flooding with crew challenges. You know, we talked a lot about the injuries from the animals.
- 24:09But then there was also numerous cases of gang green happening, like literally like no martial
- 24:17contracted gangrene from these numerous. I love you said it text earlier and it auto corrected to gangrene.
- 24:23Like, and it ran. It was like, how's the track? Yeah.
- 24:26Yeah. So shit. Are you gangrene now? Allyson, what are you doing here? No, we, we seem black.
- 24:32Listen, gangrene. Gangrene. Yes. Lots of people got gangrene.
- 24:37And two lions died because of the flooding and I think like they escaped. Yeah. And they
- 24:44were shot by authorities. They keep, I don't want to. No, no, no, they escaped. Yeah. Like it's crazy
- 24:52to think about there were wild, there were wildfires also. Yeah. God did not, whatever.
- 24:59Did not want this movie to come out. And main character, lion, which is a stupid sentence.
- 25:06Robbie. Yeah. Robbie. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That was actually actually died. He actually escaped.
- 25:12Yeah. So the tiger that played is Robbie is they would have stupid fucking name for the lion.
- 25:18That tiger. Little name Robert. Robert L. Tiger. I don't know. Robert Lian Tiger. Do you think
- 25:28that's the same thing? Robert T. Lion. Sean learned nothing. She's still stuck on the
- 25:34little swimming tiger. Listen, they were big meow meow. It's a toast watched it with me. She's like,
- 25:40that's me. I know, sweetie. That's you. You're cute. You're cute. Much of those fish. You'll never
- 25:46mow my face. Oh, that one died. Robbie died. Robbie is like escaped during filming and authorities
- 25:53shot him. And he was replaced with a look alike lion for the rest of filming. Oh, wow. I don't know
- 25:59what was. What is Quangetum out there? I don't know. Oh, my God. This is like another meat
- 26:03the fuckers reference. When he loses Robert's nearest cat and finds the other one like time
- 26:09paint is tail black. Yeah. It's like. I will say I thought it was so funny how hard they tried to
- 26:19commit to the lion story line. Like the fight like they were like really trying to put it in the
- 26:25market. And then at the end they were like, it's just too chaotic. We can't even do it. Like
- 26:29these lions are following direction in the slightest. Like they were like, he's really going for it.
- 26:35All of the problem. And then Jersey and it's just like, it went point in the hallway. I'm
- 26:40gonna get stuff laughing at this stupid fucking movie. I'm not putting the hallway. All of the lions
- 26:46are in the house and they all leave and there's one time like keep saying tiger. There's one lion that's
- 26:50still laying there. And he's walking up. He's like, oh, come on. You don't want to hear your buddies?
- 26:56Come on. And like sad music kicks in. And then you could tell that he's ad living and he's like,
- 27:01your dad's gonna be okay. Don't worry about it. You gotta go out there, boy. You gotta go out there
- 27:07and be with your other buds. And the lion's just like, rawr in the lion. I don't speak English.
- 27:13It got like 7th heaven for a second. Like somehow. Like the music slightly played. It was like
- 27:19light piano music. He's like, I found that wheat pipe in your backpack button. You got no drugs
- 27:25aren't cool. It's okay that you kissed your sister because you wanted to know what a kiss felt like.
- 27:30Oh god. You don't remember that episode of 7th heaven? I forgot about that. Oh my god. Yeah. Yeah.
- 27:41It's giving out of the dragon again. Yeah. Again. Absorbed. Absorbed. When he walks in,
- 27:46like, house is a little liger dragon. A liger? Yeah. House of a liger. That's what we're calling this.
- 27:52We renamed it cut. I was gonna say something. But everything is just so stupid that I can't
- 27:59remember what I was gonna say. Deep cleansing breaths. Please everyone watch this. Maybe I
- 28:06stringed it for free on YouTube. The entire thing is on YouTube. Oh, I watched it on the flash drive.
- 28:11I don't know. That's that's smarter. No, I think it would be a great drinking game with friends.
- 28:18Oh my god. Anytime you see blood that you go, that's not prop blood. I'm watching an actual person.
- 28:26Will I die? I have a drink. I guess by the time this comes out, we should release our official
- 28:30roar drinking game. You and I need to play it first to make sure we don't pass away. Yeah,
- 28:36that's probably pretty true. So if you see it, if you see it, then we didn't die. So
- 28:42don't we don't condone binge drinking. I love you and I are. No, go into it knowing that it is
- 28:50a very bad movie, but it is very worth it. If you're squeamish, don't watch it. Yeah. I'd say
- 28:57watch it just I didn't know about this until our producers told us about it. And I am so glad that I
- 29:02have this rep this in my brain now. Like it's got a cult following because it's insane that people
- 29:10made it literally the most and the budget just went so above and beyond because like you said earlier,
- 29:15the set was destroyed in that flood. Yeah. It's rebuild the entire set and they said they could do
- 29:21it in six years, ended up taking like what four years or something crazy. Yeah. Yeah. It took a lot
- 29:27of time. It took a lot more money than they thought I would. And then they recently released it by
- 29:34only the sun. John would help with promoting of the film Melanie Griffith and interestingly still
- 29:44like is like I think that big cats and humans should go have a day or you think that. But I think
- 29:51this was just a crazy white savior movie like yeah, I could do that. Let me bring them to LA. Yeah.
- 29:57And they do some little thing in the beginning where they thank the tribe that appears on film that
- 30:01you can tell is an actual indigenous like African tribe. And it was something that also made me laugh
- 30:07in the beginning of the movie where they're like even though it might seem like animals are harmed in
- 30:12this movie, none of them actually were like what about the humans man. Well and the two lions that
- 30:18were brought by the police. Yeah. Like to be fair, when they it shows like at the end like the
- 30:24lions are being shot. Yeah. It's with tranquilizer darts. And they said it's because they used the
- 30:31tranquilizer darts to put the lions to go meanies when it's time for their vaccines or to get their
- 30:37you know nails clipped or whatever. So they just shot them with the tranquilizer darts and then we're
- 30:41like all right, we have all given them their flu vaccines while they're out.
- 30:44So I think that's what they meant. Wow. But they just conveniently kind of brushed over the you
- 30:52know, lions that died. Robbie the lead star that died. And another reason to go a cab.
- 31:00They killed the kill my liars. They killed Robbie. They're very, very kind of like Robbie and Tonka
- 31:08to bar. Tonka. I don't remember. Like I said, they didn't really stick to the lion plot too.
- 31:15The plot is very loose here. But the lion plot was probably the best part of it and even then it
- 31:20still wasn't good. They tried to convince animals that they have lions in a plot in a movie
- 31:28and just see what happens. You're mad at him. Yeah. Now go. Oh shit, they're licking each other's
- 31:34genitals. Yeah. All right. God. Honestly, the kind of like just kept doing their line. That's that
- 31:40might have made a better we have time now. Yeah. We play. I take that. They should have had more
- 31:46tiger swimming only review and note that I have for it. The acting is bad. Holy shit, this is insane.
- 31:53Oh my god, the tigers are swimming LOL done. That's it. Yeah, absolutely. Well, I think, you know,
- 32:01let's continue after after this movie, you know, we started to use CGI animals a lot more,
- 32:07especially when it came to lions and tigers and bears. All right. And I think that we should
- 32:13continue that trend and support that exploit animal. Yeah, let's let's dedicate some land.
- 32:22Support them in that way. Yeah. And not, you know, Melanie Griffiths head.
- 32:26Yeah, no, no, I agree. Yeah. So I bless Melanie Griffiths skull and scalp. Yeah, I wonder if
- 32:34insurance come like ever insured him ever again. Oh, I god, right? You did right. No.
- 32:41You killed me. I'm never going to find a chili recover from it. No, Marshall. I think your
- 32:47policy was cut. He's done stage farm. We're just not going to back here. Like a good neighbor. We're
- 32:52moving away. Yeah. I don't know why I got country. So before this, he actually also produced the
- 32:59exorcist, which is I think we talked about in this podcast before like it being cursed in the
- 33:04sub being cursed. Some people say this also had the curse of the exorcist, just kind of marinating
- 33:10on top. What an ambitious choice. Exorcism to lion. I mean, those are two of my favorite things.
- 33:20demons and lions. Yes. Okay. Demons and cats. Oh, okay. He's a goth. Yeah, they're going. TSA is
- 33:29detaining him. You just went to Goth over the last few years. We need to go into this little room.
- 33:35So the toba tank of whatever is he the is he the goth lion then because he is the darker.
- 33:43He was the one covered in blood a lot. Yeah. That's absolutely. Oh, he's metal is. Okay. Okay.
- 33:49There we go. There we go. Like we said, bad movie. Highly recommend watching. It's like the the
- 33:55killer sloth movie. The sloth. I haven't watched the sloth in eight. Yeah. Oh, it's so good. We might
- 34:01have to do that one next. Oh, my god. Crazy, funky animal movies. I would love to watch that. There's
- 34:07no part of me that doesn't want to watch that unless the sloth dies. Well, it's like an evil sloth.
- 34:12I know, but he's still a good boy. I want to get like really, really stoned and watch this hilariously
- 34:17bad scary animal movie. Like it just scratches an itch. Recently did eight legged freaks. Oh, my god.
- 34:27I watched that with my husband like within the last year. It's so I did not get crazy high and watch it.
- 34:32Yeah. For slightly drunk. Luzer. But no, I highly recommend so maybe we'll maybe we'll do a few of those.
- 34:40It sounds for creature features. Creature features. I mean, I love me some cocaine bear. Oh.
- 34:45I love me so so cocaine bear the film. That is such a good one. I want more Elizabeth
- 34:54thanks. I want more cocaine movies bear. Yeah, type movies. Yes. The cadence. The cadence is important.
- 35:00Elizabeth, thanks, maybe more Elizabeth. Yes. Creature features for you with cocaine.
- 35:05If there happens to be animals on cocaine, it's funny. She just goes through and makes them all.
- 35:11She brings cat. She'll be cocaine horse. She brings next roar, but he's just a cocaine lion.
- 35:18The actual lion subplot is there going over like a mob boss. But for realism,
- 35:27she make it a direct sequel to roar. They actually give actual lions cocaine. Yeah.
- 35:31We need it for realism sake. Yeah. Put my stepdaughter in there and see how she does go.
- 35:39Well, I'd make that movie. She was scouting. I think we're going to get we're going to get the back
- 35:48in the studios. Well, I think this about wraps this one up before Shauna and I descend into
- 35:55absolute madness of giggles. We definitely die in the Sims after this one. We're dying.
