  I'm back after a week hiatus. Had a very summons that I had to

  attend to and all that. But we're back for another week

  of the final time out. And it's been a crazy week in

  the sports world. I mean, we're in the October and
• 1:26
  it's, you know, if it's the best month for sports cuz I mean,
• 1:30
  literally everything, it feels like it's going to be on at some
• 1:36
  point this month. We've already got the NHL season
• 1:39
  underway, the NBA season, college basketball seasons are
• 1:42
  both starting soon. We're we're into the, you know,
• 1:47
  the conference section of our college football schedule.
• 1:52
  So it's all the big conference matchups, a lot of big games
• 1:55
  there, the NFL seasons in full swing.
• 1:57
  We've got the MLB post season, WNBA post seasons wrapping up.

  I mean, it's just everywhere you look, there's just action all
• 2:09
  over the board and we're going to start with our post season
• 2:13
  action and get right into the MLB post season.

  So we are into our championship series.
• 2:33
  Rays and Guardians in the ALCS, Dodgers and Brewers and the
• 2:38
  NLDS. Brewers capped off a pretty
• 2:43
  impressive series over the Padres.
• 2:47
  That was just a lot of great pitching through all of those
• 2:51
  match ups. And just so everyone can see
• 2:57
  where we're at, here's what our postseason bracket is looking
• 3:01
  like. Like I was saying, a great
• 3:06
  pitching match up just throughout that series.
• 3:10
  I mean, both of these teams have insanely good bullpens.
• 3:14
  Really close series too. No, only one game was decided by
• 3:19
  a more than one run. They were all one run games
• 3:21
  except for that game for the Brewers.
• 3:24
  Put them away to punch their ticket.
• 3:28
  And you could tell. I mean, there was a that was a
• 3:30
  team that, you know, was proud of their win, but they were,
• 3:35
  they knew that the beast that was waiting for them on the
• 3:39
  other side and the Dodgers who took down the Brewers or the
• 3:46
  Braves rather in three games as well.
• 3:51
  And LA had to get it done. I mean, what they've been doing
• 3:56
  for a lot of this postseason, they had to get it done with
• 3:59
  their pitching and the offense just hasn't really been there A
• 4:04
  lot of really close games with the Braves.
• 4:09
  They were able to take game one in LA, but the Braves did steal
• 4:14
  1. So you thought, OK, well, maybe
• 4:16
  this series can maybe they can shake some things up in Atlanta,
• 4:22
  But then only again, like those last two games held a really, I
• 4:28
  mean, a really good batting or their for Atlanta to just one
• 4:32
  run in their final each of their final two games to close out
• 4:36
  that series. And so then we that set the
• 4:40
  stage for the NLDS series. Game one went to the Brewers.
• 4:48
  And again, I mean, this was this was a really a grinded out type
• 4:53
  of game from both sides. Just fantastic pitching on for
• 5:00
  both, from both ends. I got to say to the one was your
• 5:04
  final score and this one Scubal got the start for LA and this
• 5:10
  one and it was hall getting the start for the Brewers.
• 5:18
  Both guys not I'm sorry, not Hall Mizarovski my, my, my bad.
• 5:27
  Mizarovski getting the start for this one and you know, both guys
• 5:33
  gave up five hits in this one, but they're the the infield
• 5:38
  outfield defenses made a lot of great plays, turned a lot.
• 5:42
  You know, we had some double s, some double plays from each side
• 5:48
  and a lot of so so a decent amount of runners left getting
• 5:52
  stranded on base there. This was, you know, that this
• 5:57
  was our pitching duel that we, you know, as good as it we were,
• 6:00
  we could have asked for. That was going to be one of the
• 6:04
  marquee matchups going into this one.
• 6:08
  And yeah, you got a this is going to be a great series, I
• 6:16
  think. So I was just really impressed.
• 6:19
  I mean, some of the big hitters at the top of the order, though,
• 6:25
  for the for the Dodgers really didn't do a whole lot.
• 6:31
  Freddie Freeman, Shohei Otani, Mookie Betts, Will Smith, I
• 6:35
  mean, all those guys were really quiet in this, even like Kiki
• 6:42
  Hernandez, Kiki Hernandez. So they were getting some more
• 6:48
  of their option, some more of their action from the middle of
• 6:51
  the order there in this one. But just, I mean, two of the
• 6:58
  best pitchers in the league. 2, You know, perennial Cy Young
• 7:02
  candidates going head to head. There wasn't likely to be a lot
• 7:05
  of runs in this one game. Two, you have Yamamoto, arguably
• 7:11
  the best pitcher on L as team, getting the start and this one.
• 7:18
  And then it was Logan Henderson on the other side for the
• 7:25
  Brewers. And I think this time, not
• 7:30
  really the strength of the Brewers team, but their their
• 7:33
  bats really made a huge difference in this one because
• 7:36
  they forced Yamamoto out of the game in the third inning.
• 7:40
  He threw 76 pitches in just over and and three innings.
• 7:51
  It was a struggle man, that he gave up three runs.
• 7:55
  It was he had a really tough go of it.
• 7:57
  So that was, I mean, just a testament to the the Brewers
• 8:01
  that's to force a really talented player like that out of
• 8:08
  the game. And it just kind of spiraled on
• 8:12
  LA from there. I mean, they had a tough time.
• 8:14
  They really had to go into their bullpen here a lot and still
• 8:21
  gave up several more runs in this game and ended up losing it
• 8:29
  7 to 4. And again, I got it like the top
• 8:34
  of their order, like those big. They moved it around a little
• 8:37
  bit. They had Hernandez come up to
• 8:40
  3rd and the order and it just still hasn't sparked any life.
• 8:47
  I mean, Shohei has been basically a ghost in this series
• 8:50
  and he didn't do a whole lot against Atlanta either.
• 8:54
  He's been hit a bit of a slump, which is not not something you
• 8:59
  really want to see if you're the the Dodgers.

  And then on the other end, then William Contreras.
• 9:07
  This guy's been phenomenal throughout the postseason.
• 9:10
  He was huge in this game, three runs batted in with and had a
• 9:15
  Homer as well. Bryce Terrang did a great job
• 9:22
  getting on base and then getting you know, they did a great job
• 9:25
  of getting him in and scoring. He also had an RBI and this one
• 9:33
  Christian Yelich super good in this one as well.

  Bowers gave gave Yamamoto some some problems.
• 9:43
  He had the RBI, Siri RBI single that was huge to help really
• 9:50
  clinch this game. This is this feels like a really
• 9:54
  different Brewers team than the one that got sweat last year by
• 9:58
  LA. And this is I think that when
• 10:02
  you're the Dodgers, I mean, this is maybe the the worst time you,
• 10:06
  well, I mean, it is the worst time for your bats to run cold.
• 10:09
  But they yeah, they're really having to rely on their their
• 10:14
  pitching to keep them in games and give them a chance.

  Because you would with all the heavy hitters that you had, you
• 10:21
  would feel like that that would give your pitching a bit more of
• 10:25
  leeway to not be as good. But when when Milwaukee got it
• 10:32
  going in this one, they just snowballed.
• 10:34
  And I think that's going to they're going to have to hope
• 10:36
  that they're the pitchers can keep them in it for the next
• 10:41
  one, game three. We'll take a look there and see
• 10:46
  who is projected to start for each team.

  So it's going to be Blake Snell and Robert Gasser going to be
• 10:56
  the starting pitchers for game three, most likely.

  So 2 lefties will be opening it up for our game tonight,

  actually on FS1. All right, then you have the

  we're going to flip it over to the ALCS.

  Guardians and Rays are squaring off the Rays completing a sweep
• 11:20
  over the Yankees. And I mean, they kind of just
• 11:27
  spanked the Yankees in most of that series.
• 11:30
  They were the best team in the AL all season and they really
• 11:34
  showed that in this series. And then the Guardians man had
• 11:39
  the rally pull off the reverse sweep after falling down to the
• 11:43
  nothing at home against the Chicago White Sox, rattling off
• 11:47
  three straight that game five. Jose Ramirez really remembering,
• 11:52
  hey, he's a I'm a Hall of Famer and popping off to pull off that
• 11:58
  victory there. So we go to game one then in
• 12:01
  this series and I like this is what the guard like when the
• 12:08
  guardians bats are on are hot. They're they feel like almost
• 12:15
  unstoppable. They were making all sorts of
• 12:18
  plays running around the diamond there.
• 12:24
  You know, I don't even think Rossman did was was terrible,
• 12:30
  but he just it was a tough, tough game for him here.
• 12:35
  I mean, everything just feel like everything was connecting.
• 12:38
  They were getting all the bounces to go their way,
• 12:42
  especially, excuse me, especially in that 9th inning
• 12:48
  when they added their final three runs.
• 12:51
  You know, like Rosslyn did give up eight hits, but only, you
• 13:02
  know, only one of those scored in the 6th.
• 13:04
  And but they just you felt like his Cleveland kept connecting.

  The plays were going to come. And that was kind of what we saw
• 13:13
  as this game progressed. And it just the final four
• 13:17
  inning, it was all Cleveland and Tampa didn't really have any
• 13:21
  answers at the mound. Ramirez, the ladder Quan, all of
• 13:31
  their performances in this game as well.

  I mean, Ramirez is really he's playing like he's got one more
• 13:39
  good run in him at least, which, yeah, they're about the
• 13:44
  fantastic. He was fantastic in this one.

  So you steal game one at home, 7 to 3, absolutely huge forum.

  Game two, though, Tampa Bay how they get they rallied and we saw
• 14:02
  I think a really great pitching clinic from them the next day.

  Freddy Peralta was phenomenal in his sixth innings pitched.

  Kelly, Kevin Kelly came up didn't have the the best the
• 14:21
  best performance to come and relieve gave up the the lone run
• 14:24
  of the game for the the Guardians.

  I think the the Rays pitching coach was like, OK, well, we're
• 14:29
  not going to let this he he already got into a tough spot.
• 14:33
  He's already struggling. We're not going to let this
• 14:35
  snowball like the way it did to last night.
• 14:41
  So we're going to go ahead, we're going to get him out.
• 14:43
  They bring in Seymour, he pitches the rest of the inning
• 14:47
  and one more, does a, does a really good job, doesn't give up
• 14:54
  any more runs, gets a couple of KS in there as well.

  And then Baker comes in, closes it out in impressive fashion and

  I got to give a Camaro and another what's a Camaro was the

  Mesa junior. Some really impressive outfield
• 15:20
  plays as well, just a whole lot better.

  Just really great defensively for for Tampa Bay.

  And this was, you know, both teams did play really good
• 15:35
  defensively. Tampa only with the three runs.

  It was really just it all came in the 4th for Tampa Bay.

  There was a bad 4th, especially for Jose Ramirez.

  Just some uncharacteristic plays where 1 he got a caught kind of
• 15:50
  watching play at first wasn't ready to make the the catch on
• 15:54
  3rd is about the guys rounding the base towards him.
• 15:58
  And then, you know, a little grounder that comes right to
• 16:01
  him. But it just he, he kind of lets
• 16:04
  it come to him instead of running up and attacking the
• 16:06
  ball and you know, it hits, it hits really at like the perfect
• 16:10
  spot with like on the like, right.

  And like where the grass and the dirt meet takes kind of a weird
• 16:18
  hop And he just, he just misses it and it gets past them And
• 16:21
  that's where they're able to score their their first run,
• 16:28
  their first couple runs. So that's just some
• 16:35
  uncharacteristic plays from him, right.

  There was really that one dab inning and with how well the the
• 16:40
  Rays pitched and how well they play defense all night, that was
• 16:44
  that was just enough. So this has been a great back
• 16:47
  and forth series as well. Really excited to see how this
• 16:51
  one continues to play out. I'm looking at who are probable
• 16:57
  pitchers are going to be for tomorrow.

  It's like we're going to have Gavin Williams and Griffin Jacks

  pitching. Today's not today, that will be

  Thursday. They got that travel day as they

  head to Cleveland for this. Wrap it up there for the MLB

  post season coverage. It's been a lot of fun though.

  A great, great post season in my opinion.

  That White Sox one was was cinematic of the the Guardians

  coming back. I did really like that one.

  But I think for me personally, I really enjoyed watching that

  Brewers Padres series. That was such a great battle.

  I, I don't got to say I like Milwaukee to close this out.

  I really do. I'm just this seems like a

  different team and they don't seem, they don't seem, you know,

  scared or as intimidated this year.

  I kind of felt like they got you know, the the Dodgers do have a
• 18:26
  very stacked team, but Milwaukee just they feel like they're very
• 18:30
  they're very confident in themselves as a lot of guys at
• 18:32
  this group been with this team for a while and they're playing
• 18:38
  they're playing with a lot of confidence, a lot of cohesion.

  I think they can close this out. LA is going to LA is going to
• 18:47
  get at least two on them, though.
• 18:48
  This is too good of a team to not get at least 2.

  Maybe you know, if they they do tie this up to to my opinion
• 18:58
  might change at home, but I think I got to go a long way

  definitely to steal one on the road here from Milwaukee.

  Then the other one it's I I think I still got to go with the

  rays. I do the I do like the ball.

  The guardians have been playing the past couple weeks, but I

  still think Tampa best team. They were the best team in the
• 19:21
  aisle for a reason and they really showed that last night.

  So as long I, I, I, I trust the, the coaches and, and everyone

  there not let the, their, the, the pitching get as wild as it
• 19:37
  did in game one. And they give the, the guardian
• 19:39
  so much confidence swinging as they did in that first game.

  we had two, even though we had two sweeps in the second round

  in the semi finals. They were very competitive

  sweeps, but the better team of the series just kept getting the

  victory. You had the Atlanta Dream.

  Take care of the Liberty in three and then the second year
• 21:18
  Golden State Valkyries defeating the Las Vegas Aces and three as
• 21:24
  well. We'll start with this liberty
• 21:30
  and dream series. So game one, just Atlanta's got
• 21:39
  a great, I mean, they're just one of the better, best offenses
• 21:43
  in the league. They've got a great front court
• 21:45
  too. But their defense throughout
• 21:48
  these playoffs has really impressed me.

  And I was like, again, setting the tone in game one.

  They had 14 steals and four blocked shots in this game at
• 21:59
  Jordan Canada. She's got so much speed and
• 22:05
  transition on the fast breaks and just like the way she is
• 22:08
  able to pressure the hoop with how fast she is getting to the
• 22:11
  into the hole. I mean, it's tough to it really
• 22:15
  puts a lot of stress on the defense.

  She had 25 in this one. I think Dejuana Bonner was one
• 22:23
  of the best ads, late season ads.

  I mean, she has been absolutely phenomenal for them off the
• 22:29
  bench, Alicia. I mean, especially after Alicia
• 22:32
  Gray got banged up in this one. Left the game after only 11
• 22:35
  minutes and Balner played with the starters for the rest of a
• 22:39
  lot of this game. She was great, 23 points, 9
• 22:42
  rebounds, 2 steals for her in this one.

  Now, Ryan Howard was doing a little bit of everything.

  She A168 and eight stat line here.

  Yeah. Angel Reese reason she won DPOY
• 22:58
  along with her 17 points, 4 steals and three blocked shots

  for her. I think she was really great on
• 23:08
  Brianna Stewart and this this series actually this game she

  kept like guarding Stewie for a lot of this and she held her to
• 23:17
  19 points. I think the Jonquil Jones, her
• 23:22
  impact, she didn't feel like her impact wasn't felt in the
• 23:26
  interior a lot as well. So I mean, they had to get a lot
• 23:30
  of it on the perimeter with Sabrina, who scored 27 in this
• 23:34
  game. But there was the the defensive
• 23:37
  tone that Atlanta set in this one really set the precedent for
• 23:41
  the rest of the series. Game two, we saw an overtime
• 23:46
  shoot out going one O 1 to 1 to 98 here and in this one, you
• 23:54
  know, I Angel still played a lot of good defense, but it's hard
• 23:59
  to you know, a player as great as Brianna Stewart.

  It's hard to keep her to limit her every game.
• 24:05
  And then this one she really made her impact felt with 3511
• 24:08
  and 6 two block shots as well. John John Quel was more in
• 24:12
  tactful inside to 21 and 8 four block shots from her.

  And then really is Marina photo the the international player I'm
• 24:29
  off the bench. She gave him a big 31 minutes
• 24:32
  actually ended up playing more than Pauline Aster.

  And this one she hit some clutch threes was a big reason why and
• 24:43
  just save them on some some possessions.

  But I think she was a huge reason why New York was a lot
• 24:48
  more competitive in this one. But you know, the the dream just

  still we're able to outlast a much more a much better effort

  from New York. And this one, you know, Angel

  Little still a 2 blocked shots on this one, but he did more of
• 25:11
  it on offense. She scored 23 points, still had
• 25:15
  a 7 rebounds and I think it was huge for this one.

  The free throws, she hit some clutch free throws late that she
• 25:25
  got intentionally fouled twice and knocked down both of her
• 25:29
  both free throw attempts both times.

  That was just huge late in the game and really put a lot of
• 25:39
  pressure on the New York Liberty.

  And then there the coaching decision in this one you got you

  need a three pointer. You have your reset timeout

  still and they inbound the ball on their side of the court.

  Don't use the reset and didn't get a a good look at all.

  I mean, you end up having Brianna Stewart, who is a fine 3

  point shoe there, but like she's heaving A3 from like basically

  half court. That's just not what you want in

  this one. So both teams play the a

  fantastic game and really ultimately this one came down to

  an interesting coaching decision and then Game 3 again, really,

  really close. New York was really good in the

  last two games. They just couldn't quite finish

  it out at the end of either either one.

  This is John Quel Jones best game of the series.

  She had 26 and 14 three blocked shots in this one as well.

  Brianna Stewart also had 26 points of that effort and two
• 26:51
  blocks as well. They these two were fantastic,

  but I will say the rest of their team did did have some

  struggles. So reading it, I asked you shot

  4 of 12. You didn't get a whole lot from

  the bench in this one photo. It was a little a lot quieter

  and this one, but the the 52 point effort from those two
• 27:16
  really did a lot to help keep them in this game.

  Then on the other side, Canada only had 19 points in this one,

  but 11 assists. And I mean, there's just like
• 27:30
  she and this game was really aggressive, like she would get
• 27:34
  the ball and just fly to the other end of the court because
• 27:36
  she's really fast. I mean, it's like New York would
• 27:40
  get stressed. An extra person's coming over
• 27:44
  the help to try to slow her down and on her play making when the
• 27:48
  like to to get the ball to where it needed to be after getting
• 27:53
  that health defense to her, just just fantastic.

  I mean, it's she, I think right now she's been the best
• 28:02
  playmaker in the post season and she she does it without turning
• 28:08
  the ball over. 11 assists and 0 turnovers.

  I mean that's that's something that doesn't get talked about

  enough when it comes to play making.

  Is your assistant turnover ratio?

  Yeah, a lot of the cool passes are great highlights and they

  degenerate offense. But I mean, to do that and not
• 28:27
  turn the ball over is real, is huge because you're just like
• 28:33
  you are. You're generating all this

  offense and without ever generating a negative play in
• 28:41
  that sense, great. You know, just a great game from
• 28:45
  her. Ryan Howard, you know, did her
• 28:50
  thing. She scored 21.

  How to steal the block shot as well in this one.

  And then Angel again, really good. 22, nine and three, two
• 29:01
  blocks, 2 bit like blocks in big league game situations helps
• 29:09
  pull off the sweep for the dream.

  On the other side, the Valkyries just their second years of
• 29:18
  franchise and they're headed to the WNBA Finals.

  And game one, I mean, just an impressive domination really of
• 29:34
  Las Vegas, 71 to 60, the exact type of game that they want to
• 29:40
  play, that the Valkyries want to play, they want to get, they
• 29:43
  want you in a defensive struggle.

  And that was what they had here. The the shooting numbers all
• 29:51
  across the board for the aces, not good.
• 29:54
  They were 34% of the team, 33% from deep, you know, and
• 30:03
  surprisingly, they they don't, They only had six turnovers.

  They won the turnover battle against Golden State, which is a
• 30:08
  good, you know, a good key to trying to beat them.

  But they just could not get a shot the fall.

  And it was the, the physicality. It's if you ever watched the
• 30:21
  Valkyries play, I would highly recommend.

  It's the, the way they're always rotating and helping.

  I mean, it's, it's almost impossible to get an, an open
• 30:33
  shot without any space. There's usually somebody out
• 30:39
  closing in on you or in your face contesting it in some way
• 30:44
  or another. They are really well coached in
• 30:48
  that regard. Gabby Williams, unreal post
• 30:52
  season run. She was great in this game with
• 30:54
  25 and 11. And this is where the Valkyries,

  I think an underrated part of their game is their rebounding
• 31:07
  has been excellent. I mean, they absolutely
• 31:11
  dominated the rebound battle 52 to 25 and this one and we know
• 31:18
  they're great defensive teams. So they had 35 defensive boards,
• 31:22
  but 17 O boards that just two for Las Vegas.

  All those second chance points they created.

  I don't like as a for a team that's as good as their
• 31:32
  defensively. The offensive boards in this
• 31:35
  series were monumental for them. Absolutely monumental.

  Yeah, Vegas got sort of the punch in the mouth in this one.

  They came out and they, I don't think they were it.

  They just did not have any answers to the physicality and
• 31:49
  intensity that the Valkyries brought.

  Game 2. You know, Asia scoring 24
