- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from KFI AM
- 0:04Speaker 1: six forty. I know I'm gonna tell you all about
- 0:13Speaker 1: something I know nothing about, which, by the way, is
- 0:15Speaker 1: usually happens on this show. But at least I have
- 0:17Speaker 1: some experience when I tell you, in terms of studying,
- 0:21Speaker 1: in terms of analyzing, in terms of diving into a
- 0:24Speaker 1: topic this one. I don't have the foggiest notion of
- 0:28Speaker 1: what any of this means. What is the magic number
- 0:30Speaker 1: when it comes to close friends? In my case, zip zero,
- 0:36Speaker 1: goose egg.
- 0:38Speaker 2: And now handle on the news, Ladies and gentlemen, here's
- 0:42Speaker 2: Bill Handle.
- 0:47Speaker 1: It is a Thursday morning, March twenty six. Good morning, everybody.
- 0:52Speaker 1: We are second to last day. Oh Will Coleswriver's on
- 0:58Speaker 1: the phone and we only have a we have it.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Who do you think I am? Who do you think
- 1:02Speaker 1: you are?
- 1:02Speaker 3: Me?
- 1:03Speaker 1: You can't do that during the course of the show.
- 1:06Speaker 1: I'm just on the phone to hear you at my
- 1:08Speaker 1: my My microphone is fine, but I can't hear the station.
- 1:12Speaker 1: It's seriously here. I don't think you're working on it.
- 1:16Speaker 3: It's a high tech operation. Everybody.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Oh yeah, believe me, he's at a different location. You'll
- 1:22Speaker 1: ty Yeah, I just think it's you know, we don't
- 1:25Speaker 1: give many tours of the studio because all of our
- 1:28Speaker 1: equipment has tubes in it, all the amplifiers. It'll be fair.
- 1:34Speaker 1: I'm not there, I'm I'm at our Long Beach Bureau.
- 1:36Speaker 1: So yeah, it's a little.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Different, a Long Beach Bureau official.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a closet that is rented and closets closets. Yes,
- 1:50Speaker 1: all right, well hello, there's uh will I mean, are
- 1:53Speaker 1: you listening to the show on the phone seriously for
- 1:56Speaker 1: the moment, for the moment? Okay, all right, there enough,
- 1:59Speaker 1: we're working on it. Amy h Good morning, La Dodgers.
- 2:02Speaker 3: Yes, go Blue.
- 2:04Speaker 1: There it is your go Blue shirt. You know what
- 2:07Speaker 1: I like about talking to you because your clothing exemplifies
- 2:12Speaker 1: exactly what you are thinking. Normally, I would wear nothing
- 2:19Speaker 1: because I think of nothing, and I would be bare chested.
- 2:23Speaker 1: But I have such body dysmorphia. There's even like, there's
- 2:26Speaker 1: no chance it's.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Not dysmorphia, it's just morphia.
- 2:31Speaker 1: That's so true. That's so true. God, you know, there
- 2:34Speaker 1: was one time when I wore something that was fairly
- 2:39Speaker 1: obvious to what my body looked like. I have a
- 2:41Speaker 1: lot of hair on my chest and people were writing
- 2:45Speaker 1: in saying she is Bill wearing a sweater. There was
- 2:50Speaker 1: a lot of fun ridiculous stuff. All right, Cono, good morning.
- 2:53Speaker 1: You're giving me the look. It's a good morning. The
- 2:57Speaker 1: visual is very very tough. Yeah, I mean all of it. No,
- 3:01Speaker 1: I know, I get that.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Uh wow, that's that's where the term jewbaca came from.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Yeah, that's very funny. Let's not forget. Gravity is part
- 3:13Speaker 1: of the formula here too, which doesn't add to my beauty. Okay, Neil,
- 3:21Speaker 1: good morning.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Waiting for the term bell ringers to come.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Yes, I wasn't eve gonna go there this time around,
- 3:27Speaker 1: but okay, or bell bell ringers? All right, fair enough?
- 3:31Speaker 1: And Amy, good morning again? Okay, I mean and good
- 3:35Speaker 1: morning morning. You both start with a uh padres shirt.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Of course, Bill Brown, I love this. I used to
- 3:47Speaker 1: be I used to be a Dodgers fan, but I
- 3:50Speaker 1: was pretty young at the time. I let me throw
- 3:52Speaker 1: some names out at you, Amy, Jim Gilliam Okay, Duke Snyder,
- 3:58Speaker 1: Don Drysdale, Sandy kofax Mo Wills Okay, Moriy Wills. Okay.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Just that's how that is how dated I am.
- 4:09Speaker 3: When I.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Almost listen allmost. I think they came to uh, Los
- 4:16Speaker 1: Angeles in nineteen fifty five. If I'm not mistaken, Hey,
- 4:20Speaker 1: you're Disneyland opened, Yeah I did. That's right, that's right, okay.
- 4:25Speaker 1: And they they sneaked out of Brooklyn like like thieves
- 4:31Speaker 1: in the night. They did because it was oh yeah,
- 4:34Speaker 1: it was. It'd be crazy.
- 4:35Speaker 3: People don't like it when you leave their town.
- 4:38Speaker 1: No, what was it, Baltimore when it's insane when the
- 4:41Speaker 1: Colts moved out overnight without announcing, they just pack up
- 4:45Speaker 1: everything and move because people are gonna get killed. People
- 4:47Speaker 1: are fanatic about their guys. Desino was thrilled when you
- 4:54Speaker 1: moved Orange County. Yeah, pretty much. Okay, guys, it is time.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Let's do time for handle on the news on this
- 5:02Speaker 1: Thursday morning with Amy with Neil with me lead story.
- 5:10Speaker 1: It's like, if you're in the Iranian leadership, you've got
- 5:14Speaker 1: to be sweating bullets because you're going to be receiving bullets.
- 5:18Speaker 1: The Israeli military killed the naval commander of the Revolutionary
- 5:23Speaker 1: Guard and overnight attack and he was in an apartment
- 5:27Speaker 1: hideout in southern Iran with other Revolutionary Guard officers at
- 5:32Speaker 1: the time of the attack and he's just the latest
- 5:36Speaker 1: guy out there. It just goes to show you how
- 5:39Speaker 1: sophisticated the intelligence is that Israel has you talk about,
- 5:44Speaker 1: And one of the officials said, we talked about this
- 5:47Speaker 1: last couple of days, that the that Israel is so
- 5:52Speaker 1: embedded in virtually all aspects of the intelligence, the army,
- 5:58Speaker 1: the probably not the clar rics, but everybody else. And
- 6:01Speaker 1: people getting killed left, right and center. So come as
- 6:05Speaker 1: you know, you know, walk around, you're gonna die.
- 6:09Speaker 3: Okay, defiant in the midst of destruction. Iran has rejected
- 6:16Speaker 3: a fifteen point plan presented by the US to end
- 6:20Speaker 3: the fighting, and instead it launched more attacks on Israel
- 6:23Speaker 3: and Arab countries, including strikes that hit a fuel tank
- 6:27Speaker 3: at the Kuwait International Airport that sparked a fire. Iran's
- 6:32Speaker 3: foreign minister says his government has not engaged in talks
- 6:35Speaker 3: to end the war, and he says we do not
- 6:37Speaker 3: plan on any negotiations. Of course, Pakistan is saying the
- 6:40Speaker 3: US and Iran negotiators are in indirect talks.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Now. Yeah, the toe is in the water. However, the
- 6:49Speaker 1: fifteen point plan that the President proposed complete non starter
- 6:54Speaker 1: as far as Iran is concerned. I mean complete, give
- 6:58Speaker 1: up the missile production, give up the atomic weapons. While
- 7:02Speaker 1: that one I think is that I think they might
- 7:04Speaker 1: go for, but paying money supporting these proxy terrorist groups
- 7:10Speaker 1: around the world ain't gonna happen. They're just not And
- 7:15Speaker 1: so I think the President's in a little bit of
- 7:16Speaker 1: trouble here, a lot of trouble because you can't go
- 7:20Speaker 1: forward and say we've won the war, we've obliterated their
- 7:26Speaker 1: nuclear program, and then two weeks later saying we're going
- 7:30Speaker 1: to obliterate it. We are going to force them to
- 7:32Speaker 1: give it up, give up what you've obliterated it. Already
- 7:36Speaker 1: there's a lot of mixed messaging going on, and if
- 7:38Speaker 1: you're looking at the approval ratings with the president, it
- 7:42Speaker 1: is singing like crazy. They are they have to be
- 7:44Speaker 1: scrambling at the White House, have to be this is
- 7:47Speaker 1: not going well. So we'll see what happens. This is
- 7:52Speaker 1: now week four. Is this the start of week four
- 7:55Speaker 1: for the war? I think it is. At this point
- 7:57Speaker 1: we've gone a full three weeks. We're into week four,
- 8:00Speaker 1: and the President has said this will be four to
- 8:03Speaker 1: six weeks, and what happens after.
- 8:06Speaker 2: That seven weeks?
- 8:09Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true. Week seven and then you're going to
- 8:12Speaker 1: add then we're going to ask, wait, what happened to
- 8:13Speaker 1: four to six weeks, and then it will be a
- 8:17Speaker 1: total deflection on that one. So this is not voting. Well,
- 8:22Speaker 1: not only for the President because it doesn't matter for him.
- 8:26Speaker 1: He just wants to win under any circumstances. And I
- 8:28Speaker 1: talk about win elections because it doesn't have anymore. But
- 8:31Speaker 1: for the Republican Party. If this thing continues, you are
- 8:34Speaker 1: going to see Republicans jumping off of that messaging like
- 8:37Speaker 1: a sinking ship. Otherwise they're almost guaranteed to not be
- 8:41Speaker 1: re elected or to not be elected.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Okay, all right, so a decision has been made Landmark verdict.
- 8:48Speaker 2: We had been talking about this Instagram YouTube. Are they
- 8:52Speaker 2: designed to addict kids? Well, after seven weeks of court proceedings,
- 8:58Speaker 2: more than forty hours of deliberations, boom boom, Yeah, I
- 9:04Speaker 2: guess they are.
- 9:06Speaker 1: But yeah this was this jury says yeah, but not much,
- 9:10Speaker 1: not much money money like no, no, we dropping the bucket.
- 9:13Speaker 1: This is a million. Yeah, this is money. They this
- 9:16Speaker 1: is money they find in between the cushions in the
- 9:18Speaker 1: waiting room, on the couch for why so low? Because
- 9:23Speaker 1: they that was the compensatory that was. That was the
- 9:26Speaker 1: damages that were Those were the damages that the jury
- 9:30Speaker 1: came up with. Some juries go crazy, punitive damages. I
- 9:33Speaker 1: don't think punies kicked into this, and punitive damages on
- 9:36Speaker 1: the other case, three hundred and seventy five million dollars,
- 9:39Speaker 1: it was just going to be brought down. It's not
- 9:41Speaker 1: the money on this one at all. It's it's whether
- 9:44Speaker 1: this is a bell weather because there are thousands of
- 9:47Speaker 1: cases that have been filed. Oh, there's going to be
- 9:49Speaker 1: tons more now, Oh yeah, I mean this is it's
- 9:52Speaker 1: gonna it's it's basically big tobacco, which wrote out a
- 9:58Speaker 1: check for what seventy five billion dollars. That was a
- 10:01Speaker 1: lot of years ago when seventy five billion dollars was
- 10:04Speaker 1: real money, not today, which is yeah.
- 10:06Speaker 2: Well, so other faith industry is stoked that they're not
- 10:09Speaker 2: being looked at. Everyone's focusing on this.
- 10:14Speaker 3: Better bring your snickers because it's going to be a while.
- 10:17Speaker 3: Transportation Security Administration says it's experiencing the longest wait times
- 10:21Speaker 3: ever in its twenty four year history because of the
- 10:24Speaker 3: ongoing partial shutdown. They were testifying before House Committee yesterday.
- 10:31Speaker 3: Wait times at some of the airports, according to the testimony,
- 10:34Speaker 3: have exceeded four hours. Call out rates at those places
- 10:39Speaker 3: of forty to fifty percent and McNeil when McNeil told
- 10:47Speaker 3: the government or the House Homeland Security Committee that if
- 10:51Speaker 3: this partial government shutdown continues into Friday, TSA will have
- 10:54Speaker 3: missed almost a billion dollars in paychecks.
- 10:58Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not so much the amount of money. It's
- 11:01Speaker 1: the number of people who are not getting the paychecks
- 11:04Speaker 1: and how many of them have to quit and they're
- 11:07Speaker 1: supplementing their income by selling blood, for example, or sleeping
- 11:11Speaker 1: at the airport. This the political the political aspects of
- 11:16Speaker 1: this crazy on this one, and we'll see who's going
- 11:18Speaker 1: to get the blame for this. I think both parties
- 11:21Speaker 1: have to get the blame. What the Democrats are saying is, listen,
- 11:24Speaker 1: let's just fund TSA and leave everything and we'll talk
- 11:28Speaker 1: about everything else. And the administration and the Republicans, based
- 11:32Speaker 1: on what Donald Trump of course says, say nope, not
- 11:35Speaker 1: until you give us the Save America Act, which has
- 11:41Speaker 1: to do with voting and security at the voting booth.
- 11:46Speaker 1: So I you know, it's I don't think it's a
- 11:49Speaker 1: good connection. Although the Democrats are saying, look what ICE
- 11:55Speaker 1: is doing at the various schools and the way they're enforcing.
- 11:58Speaker 1: So I just leave it alone. And you know, the
- 12:01Speaker 1: American public is dying here in terms of flying. I mean,
- 12:04Speaker 1: you have four or five hours. Wait. You see some
- 12:07Speaker 1: of the news reports when the news reporters come up
- 12:10Speaker 1: and there's the five hour line, and people are saying, well,
- 12:13Speaker 1: I was here yesterday and I stood in line for
- 12:15Speaker 1: four hours, but I missed my flight. It's just insanity,
- 12:20Speaker 1: it really is.
- 12:22Speaker 2: On that note, a small addition to that is how
- 12:25Speaker 2: when McNeil TSA's had Hancho said that the TSA is
- 12:33Speaker 2: looking now at the possibility again of shutting down airports.
- 12:37Speaker 2: We've heard that before. So far airports, Yeah, so far
- 12:40Speaker 2: it hasn't happened. But that is in addition to.
- 12:45Speaker 3: So the homeless have gone underground quite literally. City Cruise
- 12:51Speaker 3: were about to weld shut a manhole cover in South
- 12:56Speaker 3: la and then someone said, hey, there's someone down there.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Oh boy.
- 13:02Speaker 3: And then a few seconds later a man climbed out
- 13:05Speaker 3: of the manhole, carrying with him a pink polka dot
- 13:09Speaker 3: roller suitcase and walked off.
- 13:12Speaker 1: That's important the color of the suitcase. I like that
- 13:14Speaker 1: part of the story.
- 13:16Speaker 3: That's from the other times.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Yeah, that is, and so that people were saying there's
- 13:20Speaker 1: people living down there.
- 13:21Speaker 3: They've been complaining about it for quite some time, which
- 13:24Speaker 3: is why the welders were there.
- 13:25Speaker 1: But welcome to southern California, Welcome to Los Angeles specifically, Okay.
- 13:33Speaker 2: We should build little put pillows in the potholes. Yeah,
- 13:37Speaker 2: and woo homeless into the potholes.
- 13:39Speaker 3: Sir, the pillows and Potholes program.
- 13:41Speaker 1: I like it.
- 13:42Speaker 3: It's got to catch you name.
- 13:43Speaker 2: Supreme Court says the internet service providers aren't liable for
- 13:48Speaker 2: bootleg music downloads. That's basically the gist of it. So
- 13:55Speaker 2: there's a lot of legal ins and outs that you
- 13:58Speaker 2: may love in this handle. But really, if the music
- 14:02Speaker 2: companies that hold all the rights to all this music,
- 14:05Speaker 2: I mean Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Beyonce, eminem or clapped
- 14:10Speaker 2: in all these different you know, music brands, this actually
- 14:16Speaker 2: would tie responsibility to even could tie it to a
- 14:21Speaker 2: college that has people using the computers at college.
- 14:25Speaker 1: This if they had won, if the Spring Court went
- 14:29Speaker 1: the other way, these internet service providers would have a
- 14:32Speaker 1: very very difficult time functioning the way they do now.
- 14:36Speaker 1: The argument was infringement because there was bootleg music being
- 14:41Speaker 1: played on their platform, and the lawsuit was you allowed
- 14:45Speaker 1: this to happen. Therefore you are guilty of complicity in
- 14:51Speaker 1: the copyright infringement the lawsuit. I mean the case is
- 14:56Speaker 1: not against someone who puts music on the internet. I
- 15:01Speaker 1: mean that could be copyright infringement. If I put, for example,
- 15:04Speaker 1: Beyonce's music, I put it on, I'm infringing on her copyright.
- 15:09Speaker 1: But the lawsuit was saying that the platform I'm putting
- 15:14Speaker 1: it on is also liable, and the court said no.
- 15:18Speaker 1: I would just say the argument was it would wreak havoc,
- 15:21Speaker 1: and that's true. And this was a unanimous decision. A
- 15:25Speaker 1: unanimous decision. Okay, I think we have time for one more.
- 15:29Speaker 3: You can be all that you can be, and be
- 15:32Speaker 3: older now too. The US Army is raising the maximum
- 15:35Speaker 3: enlistment age to forty two and also has gotten rid
- 15:41Speaker 3: of a barrier to potential recruits who have a legal
- 15:45Speaker 3: conviction for marijuana or drug paraphernalia possession if you only
- 15:49Speaker 3: have just one The previous ceiling for enlisting was thirty five.
- 15:55Speaker 1: And now it's forty two. I'm going to do that story,
- 15:58Speaker 1: because there are lots of parts hearts of this one.
- 16:02Speaker 1: It has a lot to do with the defense of
- 16:04Speaker 1: this country too, and what's happening currently and who and
- 16:08Speaker 1: what and where and where the services are saying, oh
- 16:12Speaker 1: my god, we need help all right.
- 16:14Speaker 2: As you heard Amy say during the news, the sad
- 16:17Speaker 2: story of a forty six year old woman killed by
- 16:20Speaker 2: a rattlesnake bite in Ventura County. If you're familiar with
- 16:24Speaker 2: that area of Thousand Oaks, beautiful area, it's the Wildwood
- 16:28Speaker 2: Regional Park. Man, I've hiked that place a bazillion times.
- 16:32Speaker 2: It's gorgeous, had a fort there. When I was a kid,
- 16:35Speaker 2: we'd go through that fort and run there to Baranka
- 16:39Speaker 2: and all the water there. Well, it turns out that
- 16:42Speaker 2: Gabriel Bautista, she's a resident of Moor Park, which is
- 16:46Speaker 2: right right down from Thousand Oaks there, reportedly was bitten
- 16:50Speaker 2: well hiking on a trail there and she was airlifted
- 16:55Speaker 2: to Les Robliss there the main regional medical center, and
- 17:00Speaker 2: she passed away. Venom toxicity took her. And just a
- 17:05Speaker 2: sad story. The heat is bringing what normally comes out
- 17:09Speaker 2: during the summertime, snakes. It's bringing them now to the forefront.
- 17:14Speaker 1: Yeah, for is it?
- 17:15Speaker 3: Nine people have been bitten so far this year. Four
- 17:17Speaker 3: have been the last two weeks.
- 17:19Speaker 1: Yeah. Reminds me of a joke that we can't say.
- 17:23Speaker 1: I can't tell you on the air. Oh well thanks, No,
- 17:26Speaker 1: it's a good one because well you know, no, Okay,
- 17:32Speaker 1: moving on.
- 17:33Speaker 3: The cicada's coming takes kill you all the time.
- 17:37Speaker 1: This is why I'm telling you, do not hike. Okay,
- 17:41Speaker 1: do not hike. You know, do what I do. You know,
- 17:44Speaker 1: I do my afternoon job, and I'm going to suggest
- 17:46Speaker 1: you do the same thing. Okay.
- 17:50Speaker 3: The cicadas are coming, and we're not talking about the insect.
- 17:54Speaker 3: It's the COVID kind of cicada. The CDC and the
- 17:58Speaker 3: w h O or monitoring be a three point two
- 18:03Speaker 3: nicknamed cicada. It's a highly mutated variant of COVID nineteen.
- 18:09Speaker 3: It's been found in wastewater across many states in the
- 18:12Speaker 3: US and in more than twenty countries. It has been
- 18:15Speaker 3: found in California. It's making up about thirty percent of
- 18:18Speaker 3: the cases in some areas. Experts say that current vaccines
- 18:21Speaker 3: may be less effective at preventing infection, but do still
- 18:25Speaker 3: protect against severe disease.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Yeah, are you frightened of spider's beniciens amy and.
- 18:35Speaker 3: I'm not so much an is And.
- 18:37Speaker 1: You're frightening spiders, well, then this story is for you.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Enjoyed this one, okay, okay, thank you.
- 18:43Speaker 2: The only thing worse than a venomous spider is a
- 18:47Speaker 2: venomous spider that spins a web like a balloon so
- 18:51Speaker 2: it can float over to you. These normally take place
- 18:54Speaker 2: in the northeastern US, but they're on their return. They
- 19:00Speaker 2: are creating a new infestation, spreading even deeper into the
- 19:03Speaker 2: country than ever before. They're pretty, but they're big, you know,
- 19:09Speaker 2: about the size of a palm maybe, and they kill you.
- 19:13Speaker 1: No, they don't, Well, anything can kill They're venomous. They
- 19:18Speaker 1: are venomous. Yes, they are venomous. They make these sail like.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Doesn't mean they're necessarily they don't.
- 19:25Speaker 2: You're right, they're not aggressive JO spiders the bright yellow body,
- 19:30Speaker 2: blue stripes, red markings, making them hard to miss. Thankfully.
- 19:33Speaker 2: Males can be spotted by their more brownish color and
- 19:36Speaker 2: smaller size by that tracks native to China. Yeah, came
- 19:43Speaker 2: here in twenty fourteen, Thanks China, Thanks Obama.
- 19:48Speaker 1: Yeah, and much like modern society, they occasionally eat their
- 19:54Speaker 1: male counterparts.
- 19:56Speaker 3: Okay, not so fast. The White House is delayed nominating
- 20:01Speaker 3: a new director for the Centers for Disease Control and
- 20:05Speaker 3: Prevention as it continues to search for a new CDC director.
- 20:09Speaker 3: In the meantime, the responsibility of leading the agent agency
- 20:14Speaker 3: will stay with Jay Bodicharia. He's the head of the
- 20:17Speaker 3: National Institutes of Health and has been the acting CDC director,
- 20:22Speaker 3: but because the rules that he can't be the acting
- 20:24Speaker 3: director for very much longer, that expires them.
- 20:27Speaker 1: And here's the problem that they're having is because you've
- 20:31Speaker 1: got Robert Kennedy that only wants a anti vaxer who
- 20:36Speaker 1: to be head of the CDC. Since the Senate has
- 20:40Speaker 1: to confirm that person. The Senate is saying, no, that's
- 20:45Speaker 1: not going to happen. You've got Kennedy who is saying, no,
- 20:49Speaker 1: I'm not going to put someone who doesn't believe as
- 20:52Speaker 1: I believe. And so there's a between a rock and
- 20:55Speaker 1: a hard place. And now we've got temporary CDC heads.
- 20:59Speaker 1: They are probably this may go on for the entire
- 21:02Speaker 1: term of Donald Trump. Literally, CDC had I think you're
- 21:07Speaker 1: good for what one hundred and fifty days, one hundred
- 21:08Speaker 1: and twenty days. So every one hundred and twenty days
- 21:10Speaker 1: we have a new one because he can't take a
- 21:12Speaker 1: chance of going in front of the Senate. They'll just
- 21:15Speaker 1: say no, no thanks. You know Bill Cassidy, who is
- 21:19Speaker 1: Louisiana Senator, who is a boy. He feels I'm sure
- 21:22Speaker 1: he feels great. He was a deciding vote to place
- 21:27Speaker 1: Robert Kennedy into his position. And Bill Cassidy was not
- 21:32Speaker 1: only an advocate of vaccinations, he ran programs in Louisiana
- 21:37Speaker 1: as a medical doctor for vaccinations. And Kennedy promised him
- 21:42Speaker 1: that he would keep the vaccine programs alive and moving.
- 21:46Speaker 1: And then he literally on the way out of the
- 21:48Speaker 1: hearing room, he went ahead and did the opposite. And
- 21:53Speaker 1: so they're saying no this time around. Ain't going to
- 21:56Speaker 1: confirm because Kennedy is nuts. Kennedy is crazy. Oh really,
- 22:02Speaker 1: only one cabinet member crazy? All right.
- 22:05Speaker 2: This next story is interesting because I grew up in
- 22:08Speaker 2: the seventies and eighties and this wouldn't have been illegal.
- 22:11Speaker 2: This would have been this one would have been applauded.
- 22:14Speaker 2: You got this Utah mother. She was charged with kidnapping
- 22:17Speaker 2: and aggravated child abuse. She there was this eleven year
- 22:22Speaker 2: old boy who was bullying her child, so she went
- 22:26Speaker 2: looked for him, grabbed him, brought him in her car,
- 22:30Speaker 2: drove him to her house, and made him apologize to
- 22:33Speaker 2: her son. And now she's yeah and is applauding. Right,
- 22:41Speaker 2: don't you just go it's like that's something what I
- 22:44Speaker 2: would do.
- 22:45Speaker 1: Yeah, why not?
- 22:46Speaker 2: She seems like a hero in my book, But now
- 22:49Speaker 2: she's getting nailed.
- 22:52Speaker 1: How about drop kicking him across the room? You know
- 22:55Speaker 1: that's violent? This is not This is just like, hey,
- 22:59Speaker 1: I'm going to save you a bus ticket. I'm gonna
- 23:01Speaker 1: take you to my kid and you can apologize and
- 23:04Speaker 1: then I'm gonna drop your yourself back off and everything.
- 23:07Speaker 1: Obviously it's a different world. But do you think it'd
- 23:10Speaker 1: been more appropriate, assuming that this is okay for this
- 23:14Speaker 1: all to happen in front of his parents? Or does
- 23:19Speaker 1: she do this on her own? And that's that's okay,
- 23:22Speaker 1: And I owe you with the details in your lawyer,
- 23:25Speaker 1: And this.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Is just u you know, all right, fair enough one
- 23:29Speaker 2: work and now the kids got emotional damage, not like
- 23:33Speaker 2: when he bullied people.
- 23:36Speaker 3: All right, this one's just for you, Bill, mm hmm.
- 23:39Speaker 3: Representative Brian Mast of Florida has introduced legislation to rename
- 23:45Speaker 3: Palm Beach International Airport as Donald J. Trump International Airport. Wow,
- 23:53Speaker 3: now that's on the that's at the US House level.
- 23:55Speaker 3: But last month Republicans in the Florida House and Senate
- 23:59Speaker 3: both passed that legislation to rename the airport. Governor DeSantis
- 24:03Speaker 3: has not signed it, and it would need approval by
- 24:05Speaker 3: the FAA.
- 24:07Speaker 1: Yeah, which is controlled by, of course, the executive branch.
- 24:10Speaker 1: So what is the chances I'll tell you why it's
- 24:13Speaker 1: not going to happen that quick quickly, because they're now
- 24:17Speaker 1: working on renaming the Federal Aviation Administration the Donald Trump
- 24:22Speaker 1: Federal Administration, and that has to happen first before it
- 24:26Speaker 1: can be the airport. And don't forget it's the Donald
- 24:30Speaker 1: Trump rental car, the rental lot. Also, Yeah, you're right,
- 24:36Speaker 1: that's for me, don't Is there is there a limit
- 24:39Speaker 1: at all? Is there ever a limit to? No?
- 24:43Speaker 2: No limit? And I got to tell you sometimes I
- 24:45Speaker 2: wake up and I think this is the alternate universe
- 24:49Speaker 2: that Biff got the Sports Almanac and all is running
- 24:54Speaker 2: to hell and the right person got that reference. That's okay,
- 24:59Speaker 2: Biff got yeah.
- 25:00Speaker 1: I mean, that's not going to change our life around.
- 25:02Speaker 1: You know, Iran is a problem, the economy is a problem.
- 25:05Speaker 1: You know, that's that's a legitimate discussion. This This just
- 25:08Speaker 1: that's entertainment, that's all. I just I'm enjoying the hell
- 25:11Speaker 1: out of this. And if a democratic president comes into power,
- 25:17Speaker 1: which I think is going to happen the next presidential election,
- 25:21Speaker 1: and then does the democratic president unravel all of this
- 25:27Speaker 1: and I don't know the answer to that, or does
- 25:31Speaker 1: it stay where it's Donald Trump insert name of these
- 25:36Speaker 1: agencies and buildings and currencies And I just don't know
- 25:41Speaker 1: the answer. Okay, I think we can finish up with
- 25:43Speaker 1: the next one. Okay.
- 25:45Speaker 2: As part of LA's desire to keep every small business
- 25:49Speaker 2: old and new out of LA, we're now looking at
- 25:53Speaker 2: the actual closing of Cole's French Dip. They announced closures,
- 25:57Speaker 2: coming back and forth, back and forth. This time apparently
- 26:00Speaker 2: for real they're going to shut down.
- 26:06Speaker 1: And why and why is that is the rent going up?
- 26:08Speaker 2: Or we had issues with Listen Man that the food industry,
- 26:14Speaker 2: everything in LA sucks for small businesses, especially food and
- 26:20Speaker 2: after one hundred and eighteen years of business, everything they've
- 26:23Speaker 2: gone through you just can't live in modern times, so
- 26:27Speaker 2: you'll have to go to Philip's, which is fantastic, But
- 26:30Speaker 2: the two battled for supremacy when it came to the
- 26:33Speaker 2: French Dip and who created it and used to have
- 26:37Speaker 2: the Varnish which was a great speakeasy there and great food,
- 26:41Speaker 2: and now it's going away for good along with Yeah, it's.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Too bad because I really like that the French Dip.
- 26:47Speaker 1: I mean, the neighborhood is not so wonderful, is it.
- 26:50Speaker 1: Right across the street is Coals or Philip right across
- 26:53Speaker 1: the street from Union Station in Alvara Street.
- 26:58Speaker 2: That is gosh, no, that would be Philips.
- 27:01Speaker 1: Yeah, also good. I mean those two are right there
- 27:06Speaker 1: on and off. Yeah, it's the others. Like I'm in
- 27:10Speaker 1: the downtown area too, Yeah, I mean it's all very
- 27:13Speaker 1: difficult area to walk in without getting killed. Yeah pretty much.
- 27:17Speaker 1: All right, we are done, And now a story that
- 27:21Speaker 1: I'm going to share with you. This is a big
- 27:22Speaker 1: one and this is the legal decision that just came down.
- 27:27Speaker 1: They could literally change social media for all of us.
- 27:32Speaker 1: This is KFI A M six point. You've been listening
- 27:36Speaker 1: to the Bill Handle show Catch my show Monday through
