Latest / Pink Shade: Reality TV with Mary Payne / 2136 - Pop and Bravo with Jason Zeffir
Transcript
- 0:14Speaker 1: Hey everybody, welcome to Pink Shade. It's Thursday. Thursday is
- 0:18Speaker 1: the day we talk about Bravo. Today I've got a
- 0:21Speaker 1: Bravo expert. It's my friend Jason Zephyr. Jason is a
- 0:25Speaker 1: new friend of mine who is a writer and wrote
- 0:28Speaker 1: the really fun book, Zombies of the Upper East Side.
- 0:31Speaker 1: And he's here to chat with his favorite subject, which
- 0:35Speaker 1: is one of my favorite subjects as well, is the
- 0:37Speaker 1: former cast of Real Housewives of New York, the new
- 0:40Speaker 1: cast of E! 's new show, The Golden Life. Oh
- 0:44Speaker 1: my gosh, Jason, how happy are we to talk about
- 0:46Speaker 1: the show?
- 0:47Speaker 2: So happy, so excited. I'm just, it's like a fever dream.
- 0:52Speaker 2: It actually happened. They're back on TV. Yes, I'm so excited.
- 0:58Speaker 1: You and I were texting yesterday and I was like,
- 1:01Speaker 1: I'm getting nervous that it's going to be terrible and
- 1:03Speaker 1: we're all going to be so disappointed. But it wasn't.
- 1:06Speaker 2: No, it was great. It was everything you wanted it
- 1:09Speaker 2: to be. And I like that they haven't grown that much.
- 1:15Speaker 2: I like that they haven't changed that much. I like that.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Of course, we'll get all into it, but I like
- 1:22Speaker 2: that Sonya is still holding on to resentments because that's real.
- 1:25Speaker 2: People do that. People get upset about something, especially when
- 1:29Speaker 2: there's money involved, and they never let it go. Even
- 1:32Speaker 2: when they say that they're going to let it go,
- 1:33Speaker 2: they never let it go. So I love that.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh. So right away, the things that we
- 1:38Speaker 1: find out are, of course, our main cast is going
- 1:40Speaker 1: to be Ramona, Luann, Sonya, Dorinda, and Kelly.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:47Speaker 1: These are like little nuggets that they put through all
- 1:50Speaker 1: through that I just wanted to point out. Things that
- 1:52Speaker 1: probably in the timeline of our world I didn't realize.
- 1:56Speaker 1: They stopped filming Real Housewives of New York with this
- 1:59Speaker 1: cast five years ago. Okay. And I guess it makes
- 2:05Speaker 1: sense now because we're in season three of the new Roni,
- 2:09Speaker 1: which by the way, I think the new Roni with
- 2:10Speaker 1: this new cast is.
- 2:11Speaker 2: It's so good.
- 2:12Speaker 1: So much better than- Oh my gosh.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Oh my gosh.
- 2:15Speaker 1: We find out it's been two years since these women
- 2:19Speaker 1: did the Real Housewives Ultimate Girls trip. It's been 10
- 2:24Speaker 1: years since Dorinda didn't invite Sonia to Bluestone Manor to
- 2:28Speaker 1: film a couple of episodes.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Yeah. She lost hundreds of thousands of dollars, which I
- 2:33Speaker 2: don't know that that math is mathing, but it was
- 2:36Speaker 2: some money, although she did appear in those episodes. Yes.
- 2:39Speaker 2: So like she was getting her vagina rejuvenated, if you remember.
- 2:46Speaker 2: So I feel like if you appear in the episode,
- 2:49Speaker 2: no matter in what capacity, I think you still get
- 2:52Speaker 2: paid for that. That's why a lot of times they'll
- 2:54Speaker 2: do a FaceTime call or something if somebody's not being featured.
- 2:58Speaker 2: So I think she got paid. Maybe she didn't get
- 3:01Speaker 2: paid as much. I don't know. Okay.
- 3:04Speaker 1: 10 years. And they're allowed to curse on E.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Yeah, which is great because I love to see them
- 3:11Speaker 2: say the F word over and over and over again.
- 3:14Speaker 1: I loved it when, like, in one of the first scenes,
- 3:17Speaker 1: she's like, I don't give a fuck.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Yes. Oh, my God. I text you this.
- 3:21Speaker 1: I go, they're allowed to say fucking shit and all
- 3:23Speaker 1: this stuff on E?
- 3:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Which means they probably could say it on Bravo. They
- 3:29Speaker 1: just choose to bleep it to make it more family friendly?
- 3:33Speaker 2: Probably, yeah.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Because they're at the same level of cable show, you know?
- 3:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I think, yeah, I don't know. There's got to
- 3:41Speaker 2: be something about that, maybe.
- 3:43Speaker 1: I'd love to know. Yeah. So one more touchstone for
- 3:49Speaker 1: our timeline is it's been 10 years since Luann got
- 3:53Speaker 1: arrested in West Palm Beach.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Yes.
- 3:57Speaker 1: So I guess when we had the Bluestone Manor situation,
- 4:03Speaker 1: when Dorinda didn't invite Sonia, that was the same year
- 4:08Speaker 1: That Luann had been separated for one year, and she
- 4:12Speaker 1: went back to the hotel room that she thought... She
- 4:15Speaker 1: went back to the scene of the crime where she
- 4:16Speaker 1: had gotten married the year before. So I'm just trying
- 4:19Speaker 1: to kind of figure that out. They had filmed that
- 4:21Speaker 1: season at Bluestone Manor, and then that was the same
- 4:26Speaker 1: year that Luann got arrested for going back to the
- 4:29Speaker 1: scene of the crime of her marriage.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Was it, though? Was it, though? Because I thought.
- 4:32Speaker 1: It seems not right. That seems not right to me.
- 4:34Speaker 2: No, because I think wasn't... Let me Google. Because I
- 4:39Speaker 2: feel like.
- 4:41Speaker 1: When did Luann get arrested? How about that?
- 4:50Speaker 2: 2017.
- 4:50Speaker 1: So it's been less than 10 years for Luann. She
- 4:53Speaker 1: was rounding up. She was rounding up.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Yeah, because I think the Sonya thing was like the
- 4:58Speaker 2: year prior to that of not being invited. Because I
- 5:01Speaker 2: feel like wasn't her not being invited, I think was
- 5:05Speaker 2: the season where... Jules was there, right? I feel like.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Yes, because Jules was going outside and like talking on
- 5:12Speaker 1: the phone to her dad. He was dying?
- 5:15Speaker 2: Yeah, he had pneumonia. Yeah, he had pneumonia. And they
- 5:19Speaker 2: were smoking. They were smoking outside. And I don't love
- 5:22Speaker 2: cigarettes in real life, but I do love when a
- 5:24Speaker 2: housewife smokes. Because you know, things are going down. They
- 5:28Speaker 2: put their guards down.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Yes, yes, yes. That's very, very true. You see their
- 5:34Speaker 1: real selves. Okay. So we're just kind of in an overview,
- 5:39Speaker 1: go through what happened on the episode. And I literally
- 5:41Speaker 1: did this like 15 minutes before we started. I just
- 5:44Speaker 1: zipped through so that we can– I don't want to
- 5:46Speaker 1: forget a specific scene because some of them had so
- 5:49Speaker 1: many nuggets.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Yes. Yes.
- 5:51Speaker 1: So I have to assume, because Ramona and Sonia both
- 5:55Speaker 1: live in Palm Beach, we have to assume that the
- 5:58Speaker 1: premise of the show is not that Jorinda, Luanne, and
- 6:00Speaker 1: Kelly are living there. It's that they're doing a snowbird thing.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Yeah. Okay.
- 6:05Speaker 1: So I didn't grasp that. I was like, are we
- 6:07Speaker 1: pretending that they live in Palm Beach? But no, they're
- 6:10Speaker 1: doing a snowbird thing, which that completely makes sense also.
- 6:13Speaker 2: It definitely makes sense. And it's not like such a
- 6:16Speaker 2: stretch either, you know, because lots of people in New
- 6:19Speaker 2: York and up here go to Florida. you know, for
- 6:22Speaker 2: the winter. It's very common.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Yes. I love that everybody brought their assistants and the
- 6:27Speaker 1: assistants are just on camera. They're not even trying to
- 6:29Speaker 1: pretend that they're not coming with staff.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Right.
- 6:33Speaker 1: I love that. And I noticed also right away that
- 6:36Speaker 1: no one, not once, never once did they say Real Housewives.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Right. Because they probably can't. There's probably some sort of
- 6:44Speaker 2: something where, or they don't want to advertise that show
- 6:47Speaker 2: or something.
- 6:48Speaker 1: There's definitely something there that they do not say Real Housewives.
- 6:53Speaker 1: I heard Dorinda once say the word Bravo right at
- 6:57Speaker 1: the beginning. But they reference a lot the show. We
- 7:02Speaker 1: were on the show. And a couple of times, somebody
- 7:04Speaker 1: was like, especially if I have to film this show.
- 7:06Speaker 1: And I was like, well, this is a new show,
- 7:08Speaker 1: but you mean just the show. So I found that interesting.
- 7:13Speaker 1: I didn't think they were going to be like, we
- 7:15Speaker 1: were on a show called Real Housewives of New York.
- 7:16Speaker 1: They aired on Bravo. They're not going to do that,
- 7:19Speaker 1: but they just didn't say housewives at all. So I
- 7:23Speaker 1: liked it. Right away, Sonia tells us she no longer drinks.
- 7:28Speaker 1: In her confessionals, she seems great. The rest of the time,
- 7:38Speaker 1: she's frenetic like she normally is. And I think that
- 7:43Speaker 1: When our first scene that we get where Luann goes
- 7:45Speaker 1: over to Ramona's and then Sonya comes, I didn't necessarily
- 7:49Speaker 1: feel that she was drinking. I just felt like she
- 7:51Speaker 1: was doing her performative. And she kind of tries to
- 7:57Speaker 1: go from one subject to the next to get you confused,
- 7:59Speaker 1: you know?
- 8:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:01Speaker 1: But I do not get non-drinking vibes from Sonya.
- 8:07Speaker 2: No, I feel like there's gotta be something going on there.
- 8:10Speaker 2: And if it's not alcohol, it's something else. And, um,
- 8:13Speaker 2: I know somebody who knows her like on a personal
- 8:15Speaker 2: level pretty closely and they, they're like, that's not her.
- 8:20Speaker 2: So it's, so she definitely is performative in a way. And, um,
- 8:25Speaker 2: did you watch the, the little like after show, the
- 8:29Speaker 2: hot goss thing? Yeah. She, I mean, she's like the
- 8:33Speaker 2: energizer bunny. Like she's in total performance mode and she's
- 8:37Speaker 2: just going, like she was cracking up everybody behind the,
- 8:40Speaker 2: behind the cameras. Like she, she's super funny. So it's like,
- 8:44Speaker 2: I don't know if she just, you know, the cameras
- 8:47Speaker 2: are on her and then she just like performs. I
- 8:50Speaker 2: don't know exactly what that is, but even, even if
- 8:53Speaker 2: that's the case, I feel like there might be something
- 8:55Speaker 2: that's like helping her kind of like loosen up and
- 8:58Speaker 2: do her thing.
- 8:59Speaker 1: I think that's right. I think it's a loosening up
- 9:01Speaker 1: thing because I think maybe in her real life, she
- 9:04Speaker 1: doesn't just like– she's not the life of the party.
- 9:08Speaker 1: She's not the funniest one at the table. She's not
- 9:10Speaker 1: the one that you're like, did you hear what she
- 9:11Speaker 1: just said? She's not like that. But she feels now
- 9:14Speaker 1: that she has to sort of live up to that
- 9:17Speaker 1: kooky persona. But on the flip side of that, I
- 9:21Speaker 1: would say I felt like Dorinda– was a little bit
- 9:25Speaker 1: opposite of what we've seen for Dorinda. She says, like,
- 9:28Speaker 1: I don't want to get heated. I don't want to
- 9:30Speaker 1: get mad. And she didn't seem to be. Now, listen,
- 9:35Speaker 1: it's the first episode. She didn't seem to get, like,
- 9:38Speaker 1: drunk and yell at anybody. She just sort of walked away.
- 9:41Speaker 1: And I liked how in the car she said to Luann,
- 9:44Speaker 1: I can't explain to you why, but Sonia is just
- 9:47Speaker 1: really agitating me. She's really irritating me because she's saying
- 9:51Speaker 1: things that aren't true. you don't know what to believe.
- 9:55Speaker 1: And then she just sort of, and I thought that
- 9:58Speaker 1: was really honest too, because I, you know, I am
- 10:01Speaker 1: also a lady of a certain age and you really
- 10:04Speaker 1: do after like 50, mid fifties, which I am, you
- 10:07Speaker 1: really do sort of get like, I don't have time
- 10:11Speaker 1: for that bullshit. And you really do get very aggravated.
- 10:13Speaker 1: It could be a good friend you've had for years.
- 10:14Speaker 1: And you're like, I don't want to have three glasses
- 10:18Speaker 1: of wine with that person, then they irritate me. I
- 10:20Speaker 1: just don't want to do it anymore. And I kind
- 10:23Speaker 1: of really felt that with Dorinda. She's just like, I
- 10:27Speaker 1: don't want to listen to her lie.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I think of any of them, Dorinda's probably the
- 10:31Speaker 2: one that's maybe changed the most in that she's calmer. Yes.
- 10:35Speaker 2: But let's see how long that lasts though, because I
- 10:38Speaker 2: do think that she could get triggered. Oh, for sure.
- 10:40Speaker 2: So with Dorinda, I think that she, she's probably the
- 10:43Speaker 2: one that has changed the most, but we'll see what happens. Yeah.
- 10:49Speaker 2: I mean, also remember like she wasn't originally supposed to
- 10:52Speaker 2: be on this show. Like Jill was supposed to be there.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Yeah. And I do wonder too, when Jill got kicked
- 10:59Speaker 1: off the show because of her bad bunny rant, by
- 11:02Speaker 1: the way, she just popped up on my algorithm last night,
- 11:05Speaker 1: probably because I just watched the show. And it was
- 11:08Speaker 1: her and Turks and Caicos complaining about how shitty everything
- 11:10Speaker 1: is there. I was like, I've been to Turks and Caicos.
- 11:14Speaker 1: I'd love to live there. Are you kidding me? It's
- 11:16Speaker 1: not shitty.
- 11:17Speaker 2: No, not shitty at all.
- 11:18Speaker 1: But all the comments, people were like, ran to the
- 11:21Speaker 1: comments because it's nothing, but do you, it's like, do
- 11:25Speaker 1: you never stop complaining? Like, Do you ever just have
- 11:28Speaker 1: a good time? Yeah.
- 11:30Speaker 2: This has also got to be a really bad time
- 11:33Speaker 2: for her. True. Because she really wanted to be on
- 11:36Speaker 2: this show. I think she basically made it happen. Yeah.
- 11:40Speaker 2: And like, yeah.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Ruined it for herself with her complaining.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Now she's not on it.
- 11:44Speaker 1: Yeah. Y'all, everybody's got that thing in your closet. You know,
- 11:48Speaker 1: you always reach for it. It's your favorite jeans or
- 11:51Speaker 1: that sweater that looks good or your favorite shoes, those boots,
- 11:55Speaker 1: you know, that you love. Those are the pieces that
- 11:57Speaker 1: earn a permanent place in your wardrobe, and that's exactly
- 12:01Speaker 1: what Quince does so well. So, whenever I come on
- 12:04Speaker 1: here to talk to y'all about Quince, I go and
- 12:06Speaker 1: check out what's in my cart. Well, right now, nothing
- 12:08Speaker 1: is in my cart because I already bought it, okay?
- 12:11Speaker 1: The latest thing I just bought, and I'm saying it
- 12:13Speaker 1: whispering so everybody goes and gets it before anybody sees it,
- 12:17Speaker 1: it's the wool cashmere tailored long coat. There's lots of
- 12:22Speaker 1: colors that But the one I got is a jacquard leopard. Oh,
- 12:26Speaker 1: my God. It's so cute. I'm going to wear it
- 12:28Speaker 1: with like jeans and a black shirt and my new
- 12:30Speaker 1: Quince black booties. Perfection. So be sure when you log
- 12:33Speaker 1: on to Quince. you always go to that new arrivals tab.
- 12:37Speaker 1: That's where all the new stuff is. You know that
- 12:40Speaker 1: Quince makes these elevated everyday essentials using the premium materials
- 12:44Speaker 1: like Mongolian cashmere, and those sweaters start at $ 50. So
- 12:49Speaker 1: they use the organic cotton that I love, the premium
- 12:52Speaker 1: stretch denim, and the designs are timeless and made to
- 12:55Speaker 1: be worn again and again. Again, these are the things
- 12:58Speaker 1: you always reach for. And as the weather gets colder,
- 13:00Speaker 1: Quince has everything you need to round out your wardrobe.
- 13:03Speaker 1: from warm, responsibly sourced down jackets and cozy cashmere scarves
- 13:08Speaker 1: and gloves, and everything at Quince is priced 50 to
- 13:11Speaker 1: 80% less than similar brands. They work directly with ethical
- 13:15Speaker 1: factories and cut out the middlemen. So, if you're paying
- 13:17Speaker 1: for quality, not that markup. It's luxury without the luxury price.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Quince has everything. They have furniture, jewelry, candles, gifts, skincare,
- 13:29Speaker 1: and I just noticed in that new arrivals tab that
- 13:32Speaker 1: they have Christmas jammies. It's really just a one-stop shop.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Find the fall pieces you'll reach for most at Quince.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Download the Quince app for app-exclusive offers or go to quince.com.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Get free shipping on your order and 365-day returns. Now
- 13:49Speaker 1: available in Canada and the UK, too. Whoop, whoop! And
- 13:52Speaker 1: when quits ask where you heard about them, let them
- 13:54Speaker 1: know it was Pink Shade. It's the best way to
- 13:57Speaker 1: support the show. So when Sonia comes over to meet
- 14:02Speaker 1: with Luann and Ramona, she says she never goes out
- 14:05Speaker 1: at all. And Ramona says, that's right. She's a, she's
- 14:07Speaker 1: a recluse. She never at all goes out. And then
- 14:10Speaker 1: she tells a lot of tall tales, right? You know,
- 14:13Speaker 1: and they're like, what? You know, and they just are
- 14:16Speaker 1: sort of like dead sober in the middle of the afternoon,
- 14:19Speaker 1: like that doesn't, none of that really, it doesn't, it's
- 14:25Speaker 1: not linear. It doesn't track. And then she also just
- 14:27Speaker 1: constantly contradicts what she just said two minutes before.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Yeah. She's telling stories. Like, I just think she's trying
- 14:36Speaker 2: to entertain and try to make a good show. Yeah.
- 14:39Speaker 2: You know.
- 14:39Speaker 1: She wants to get paid like they all do, you know.
- 14:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:43Speaker 1: We find out Luanne's got this boyfriend, Michael, which of
- 14:45Speaker 1: course we saw on Ultimate Girls Trip. She's two hours late.
- 14:49Speaker 1: She's two hours late.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Can you believe it?
- 14:51Speaker 1: She didn't see me levitate. Two hours late. Ramona apparently
- 14:56Speaker 1: has a boyfriend. We're never going to see him, I guess,
- 14:59Speaker 1: it sounds like.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Yeah, because she wants to hold on to him. I mean,
- 15:03Speaker 2: if you go on one of these shows and you
- 15:06Speaker 2: get divorced, I could see why you would then never
- 15:09Speaker 2: want to bring your potential mate back on a show.
- 15:14Speaker 1: I wonder if Mario and Avery are going to make
- 15:16Speaker 1: an appearance.
- 15:18Speaker 2: Avery is. She's in the– I saw her in the trailer.
- 15:20Speaker 2: She is. So she definitely is going to be in it. Yeah.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Well, you know, immediately also Ramona is giving Louie instructions
- 15:27Speaker 1: about how to dress and how to act and all that.
- 15:30Speaker 1: And then I love how, you know, she's like– I mean,
- 15:33Speaker 1: of course, I'm in Palm Beach. I live here now
- 15:36Speaker 1: and I look better than ever. I look amazing. And
- 15:39Speaker 1: I mean, it wouldn't be Ramona if she didn't tell
- 15:42Speaker 1: us how good she looks. She doesn't wait for somebody
- 15:44Speaker 1: to tell her. She's going to let you know.
- 15:47Speaker 2: Okay, I saw her recently a few months ago on
- 15:50Speaker 2: Madison Avenue, just trotting down the sidewalk with a drink
- 15:54Speaker 2: in her hand, and she does look great. She looks incredible.
- 15:58Speaker 2: She is snatched, tiny waist. She looks so good.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Okay, well, good for you, girl. Kelly has a very
- 16:07Speaker 1: fat dog named Tarzan that she just sort of picks
- 16:09Speaker 1: up by the harness, which is not great. Pick Tarzan
- 16:13Speaker 1: up the right way.
- 16:13Speaker 2: That's not right.
- 16:15Speaker 1: Um, Harry Dubin is still around. Um, he and Sonia
- 16:18Speaker 1: have been off and on for 30 years. Um, when
- 16:23Speaker 1: my producer Ingrid and I met Harry Dubin at the
- 16:26Speaker 1: Regency and, um, he was like, do you want me
- 16:31Speaker 1: to get Sonia on the phone?
- 16:32Speaker 2: I can.
- 16:33Speaker 1: And we're like, that's okay. It's like, he's like, I
- 16:36Speaker 1: can call her. And he's like, here's something nobody ever knows.
- 16:40Speaker 1: I used to take Kelly.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Ben Simone too. Yeah, he made the rounds, right?
- 16:44Speaker 1: I was like, nobody is shocked by that, Harry Dubin.
- 16:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:48Speaker 1: And then he tried to hit on Ingrid, who's married,
- 16:50Speaker 1: and commented her boobs.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Okay.
- 16:54Speaker 1: So, all right. That was an iconic night for us. So,
- 16:58Speaker 1: they go on this boat ride. And I did like,
- 17:01Speaker 1: Luanne's like, we got the yacht. But she didn't, like,
- 17:04Speaker 1: ultimate girl strip, like, constantly saying her own catchphrases. She
- 17:08Speaker 1: didn't do it too much, which on Ultimate Girl's Trip,
- 17:11Speaker 1: we wanted to kill her because we're like, we got it. Jesus.
- 17:14Speaker 1: But she was like, we got the yacht. She sort
- 17:16Speaker 1: of made a joke about it with her friend Kimberly
- 17:19Speaker 1: with an IE on the end. And I got to
- 17:22Speaker 1: tell you something. These, for lack of a better term,
- 17:25Speaker 1: Mar-a-Lago faces are killing me.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Yes, for sure. Yeah.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Our gals look completely normal and sane and great compared
- 17:35Speaker 1: to some of these faces that we saw.
- 17:36Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. It's kind of sad.
- 17:40Speaker 1: It makes me rethink like, you know, I really kind
- 17:43Speaker 1: of want to get a facelift.
- 17:44Speaker 2: I'm like, maybe. I think their issues are more like
- 17:48Speaker 2: the filler. The filler. You got to be really careful
- 17:50Speaker 2: with the filler. Like I've thought I've done like a
- 17:53Speaker 2: little bit of Botox, nothing right now. Yeah. But you're young.
- 17:56Speaker 1: You don't need it.
- 17:57Speaker 2: I've done a little bit and I've thought about like
- 17:59Speaker 2: doing the filler in the jaw a little bit because
- 18:01Speaker 2: that seems to be something that everybody does. But then
- 18:04Speaker 2: you hear about it moving around and like– And then
- 18:08Speaker 2: scar tissue growing inside and that makes everything bigger too.
- 18:11Speaker 2: And it's like, I don't know, maybe just no.
- 18:15Speaker 1: I think you're right because you see like with somebody
- 18:17Speaker 1: like Madonna, God bless, like so much filler across here.
- 18:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:21Speaker 1: You know that it looks, anyway, this is not for
- 18:23Speaker 1: us to discuss, but it was a lot of shocking faces.
- 18:28Speaker 1: And I was glad to say that our ladies, our
- 18:30Speaker 1: best friends on this show, our friends, They look the best.
- 18:34Speaker 2: They look great.
- 18:34Speaker 1: They all look the best. So Harry is there, and
- 18:40Speaker 1: he's like, I see Sonya all the time at the bar.
- 18:43Speaker 1: She's at table 26, and they're all like, what? She
- 18:46Speaker 1: said she doesn't drink. He goes, I see her all
- 18:48Speaker 1: the time at table 26 at blah, blah, blah, which
- 18:51Speaker 1: later Sonya says is a little family restaurant.
- 18:54Speaker 2: Oh. Okay.
- 18:57Speaker 1: Then Sonya on the boat says, is saying to everybody, oh,
- 19:00Speaker 1: I socialize all the time. I go out. I've got
- 19:02Speaker 1: so many men. They're just lined up. And you're like,
- 19:06Speaker 1: two scenes back, you said you never go out, never
- 19:08Speaker 1: see anybody, never drink, never do anything.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. It's hard to nail her down. It's like,
- 19:15Speaker 2: what is going on? What's the story? Yeah.
- 19:18Speaker 1: Both stories are interesting. You know why? Just pick one.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Yeah. And if you don't drink, you're not going to
- 19:24Speaker 2: be hanging out in a bar. Like, I don't drink.
- 19:25Speaker 2: I haven't been to a bar in a million years.
- 19:27Speaker 2: Because why would you?
- 19:30Speaker 1: That's not where you go Tuesday, Thursday, Friday. Yeah, I agree.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Strangely enough, I believe Harry Dubin.
- 19:40Speaker 2: Yeah. What did you think of him? How old is
- 19:43Speaker 2: he now, do you think? Is he like, 70? Is
- 19:46Speaker 2: he getting close to there?
- 19:48Speaker 1: The fact that he's still got such a libido to
- 19:50Speaker 1: be banging around with these.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Yeah, he looked a little lost, though, I have to say.
- 19:55Speaker 2: He looked a little bit like he stumbled.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Onto the scene. Okay, Harry Dubin is only 61. That's...
- 20:03Speaker 1: He's nine years younger than Ramona.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Yeah, and he seems like a good Decade older.
- 20:10Speaker 1: He seems a little pickled.
- 20:13Speaker 2: Yes.
- 20:13Speaker 1: A little pickled. So, Kelly, we get this whole boat thing.
- 20:19Speaker 1: I loved the boat thing. I loved how Dorinda just
- 20:21Speaker 1: got up and walked away from Sonia when she was like, well,
- 20:24Speaker 1: you know, it's $ 100, 000, whatever. And she's like, 10 years ago.
- 20:27Speaker 1: It's a decade ago. It's ancient history. Like, what do
- 20:30Speaker 1: you want me to do about it now? Like, give
- 20:32Speaker 1: you $ 200, 000?
- 20:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:33Speaker 1: And do you think she's saying that because they made $ 100, 000
- 20:38Speaker 1: an episode and she wasn't on two episodes. But you're
- 20:42Speaker 1: saying that even if they're on the episode in any form,
- 20:45Speaker 1: they get paid.
- 20:46Speaker 2: That's what I've always understood. And they weren't making 100,000
- 20:49Speaker 2: episodes because I think at that time they were doing
- 20:53Speaker 2: like 20 episodes in total with the reunion. So they
- 20:56Speaker 2: weren't making $ 2 million.
- 20:58Speaker 1: Not at that time. No, absolutely not. So then we
- 21:02Speaker 1: see Kelly– and if you feel that I missed something
- 21:06Speaker 1: from the boat party, let me know because I literally
- 21:08Speaker 1: just did bullets. We see Kelly and Sonia go to Pilates.
- 21:14Speaker 1: I loved it. I loved every minute. I loved– this
- 21:17Speaker 1: is– again, I feel like this is sort of the
- 21:19Speaker 1: real Sonia.
- 21:19Speaker 2: Yeah, late, kind of just like floating around.
- 21:24Speaker 1: And just sort of being fun at Pilates. Yeah. And
- 21:27Speaker 1: then in her talking head when she said, if you
- 21:29Speaker 1: would have told me three years ago that Kelly Bensimon
- 21:33Speaker 1: would be the sleeper head of my life, that she
- 21:35Speaker 1: would be the one that's trying to ground me and
- 21:39Speaker 1: talk to me. I think Kelly's trying to get her
- 21:40Speaker 1: to be like, hey, this actually could be a huge
- 21:43Speaker 1: opportunity for you to make money. You need to tell
- 21:45Speaker 1: the truth. Don't you feel like Kelly was trying to
- 21:48Speaker 1: get to her?
- 21:49Speaker 2: Yeah. And when Kelly Bensimon is the voice of reason,
- 21:53Speaker 2: because she was– the wacky one back in the day.
- 21:58Speaker 2: And now like, it's definitely like Sonia. So, and I, I, this, you.
- 22:04Speaker 1: See this cup that I have, it's from scary islands.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Oh, look. Oh yes.
- 22:11Speaker 1: I got this off of Etsy years ago.
- 22:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:14Speaker 1: And I literally this morning went through my coffee cup
- 22:17Speaker 1: cabinet to find it. I was like, no, I got
- 22:19Speaker 1: to get it.
- 22:19Speaker 2: It's so funny. I've got a set from Etsy too. Yeah.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Do you, speaking of this, like sidebar, do you think
- 22:27Speaker 1: Bethany is going to show up on this show?
- 22:30Speaker 2: I think Bethany is going to make a return to
- 22:34Speaker 2: either Roni or The Golden Life.
- 22:37Speaker 1: And why do you think that?
- 22:39Speaker 2: Because I think she misses it. It's getting a lot
- 22:43Speaker 2: of press. People are loving it. She's also like a
- 22:46Speaker 2: business person. And yeah, she's doing well. But being on
- 22:49Speaker 2: TV just does make you more relevant and, you know, Yeah.
- 22:55Speaker 2: And she's so good at it. She's so effortlessly good
- 23:00Speaker 2: at it that I think she would be great. She
- 23:04Speaker 2: would mix in really well. She also, with the new
- 23:08Speaker 2: Roni cast, I feel like I don't think any of
- 23:11Speaker 2: these OGs would fit in with them if they were
- 23:14Speaker 2: to pop some back in, except maybe Dorinda and Bethany.
- 23:19Speaker 2: I think Bethany could bit in with them too but
- 23:22Speaker 2: i think she's gonna make a return at some point
- 23:25Speaker 2: and um the golden life makes sense because she's in
- 23:28Speaker 2: florida too so you.
- 23:30Speaker 1: Know yeah yeah yeah well um okay so we get
- 23:34Speaker 1: them at pilates okay now there's a party at a
- 23:37Speaker 1: store um herve.
- 23:39Speaker 3: Leger herve leger i mean it's it's these are the
- 23:45Speaker 3: kind of things like herve leger that i don't try
- 23:47Speaker 3: to say because Um, on this show, you don't know this,
- 23:51Speaker 3: but recently I mispronounced enchilada.
- 23:53Speaker 1: I said enchilada. And so I, um, have a little
- 23:57Speaker 1: bit of Ramona in me. I've just realized that maybe
- 23:59Speaker 1: I might say a word wrong, but the difference is,
- 24:01Speaker 1: is I realize it right away and try to correct it.
- 24:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:06Speaker 1: Something like Herve Leger or like Hermes or whatever. I'm
- 24:09Speaker 1: always like, you're a little bit scared to say it
- 24:11Speaker 1: because you don't want to say it wrong. But the
- 24:14Speaker 1: funniest thing is they go in and it's like a, um,
- 24:16Speaker 1: a pop-up show at their friend's shop. And Ramona is
- 24:21Speaker 1: hosting the pop-up show, which is like a sip and shop,
- 24:25Speaker 1: which I'm very familiar with, which I love a sip
- 24:26Speaker 1: and shop. And Ramona has curated the list. She's a
- 24:32Speaker 1: great party giver. She's got the list. She's going to
- 24:35Speaker 1: do it. And a random would walk in off the street. Now,
- 24:39Speaker 1: we saw the sign on the door, which is literally
- 24:41Speaker 1: like a piece of paper taped to the door that said,
- 24:45Speaker 1: Private Party Filming in Progress.
- 24:46Speaker 2: Yes.
- 24:47Speaker 1: It apparently did not say do not enter because several
- 24:50Speaker 1: people came in because they were probably like, oh, I
- 24:52Speaker 1: want to see.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. So Ramona is hosting a party and she's
- 24:57Speaker 2: running security. And I wouldn't want to mess with her.
- 25:01Speaker 2: Like I'd be more scared of her than I would
- 25:03Speaker 2: be like a six foot four security guard. You don't
- 25:06Speaker 2: want to mess with Ramona.
- 25:07Speaker 1: Oh, and she goes, don't you see the sign on
- 25:10Speaker 1: the door? She was so mean to those.
- 25:14Speaker 2: People that came in. She was super mean. Get out.
- 25:18Speaker 2: I don't know you. Get out.
- 25:19Speaker 1: Do I know you? Were you on the list? Did
- 25:21Speaker 1: you RSVP? And I love that Luann was like, oh
- 25:25Speaker 1: my God, darling. It's so embarrassing. They were all horrified.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Some people never change and I'm glad.
- 25:34Speaker 1: But what's better is she got worse.
- 25:37Speaker 2: Yes.
- 25:38Speaker 1: She got worse. And she's meaner. She's snobbier. You know,
- 25:43Speaker 1: she's probably making some racial slurs. You know, she's It's bad.
- 25:48Speaker 1: It's bad.
- 25:49Speaker 2: Yeah. It's bad.
- 25:51Speaker 1: And should we have her on our TV celebrating her?
- 25:55Speaker 2: Probably not. Probably not. I feel a little guilty about it.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Oh, my God. It's so funny. So she's acting horrible
- 26:04Speaker 1: to anybody that deemed to enter. I don't think they
- 26:07Speaker 1: had it marked clearly enough. Private event. Do not enter.
- 26:10Speaker 1: But Sonia comes into the event and embarrasses the shit
- 26:14Speaker 1: out of Ramona in front of her new Palm Beach friends.
- 26:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:18Speaker 1: And I didn't like it. I didn't like how she was...
- 26:20Speaker 1: I don't think a sober person would... If somebody's standing
- 26:25Speaker 1: up and saying, I just want to thank all of
- 26:26Speaker 1: you for coming, da, da, da, da. I don't think
- 26:29Speaker 1: a sober person would purposely knock into your friend and
- 26:33Speaker 1: talk over.
- 26:34Speaker 2: Yeah, breaking the glass and stuff. Yeah.
- 26:36Speaker 1: Yeah. And woo! And all that at the boat party.
- 26:40Speaker 1: I just personally don't think a person who's just drinking
- 26:42Speaker 1: water is.
- 26:43Speaker 2: Going to be that way. How much do you think
- 26:45Speaker 2: it's her? And how much do you think it's like
- 26:47Speaker 2: a producer kind of teeing her up before a scene? Like,
- 26:51Speaker 2: do you think she is getting instruction? Cause I don't like, I'm,
- 26:55Speaker 2: I'm not sure.
- 26:56Speaker 1: I don't know if it's like, uh, Oh, make sure
- 27:01Speaker 1: to be wacky and make sure you talk to Harry
- 27:04Speaker 1: Dubin about your 30 year relationship. He's going to be there.
- 27:07Speaker 1: But I don't think they're like, um, Make sure you yell,
- 27:11Speaker 1: we always have the best time and fall over and
- 27:15Speaker 1: have your cooch up in the air. Like, I don't know.
- 27:18Speaker 2: I know. I was worried about that dress and stuff, too.
- 27:21Speaker 2: I'm like, Sonia.
- 27:24Speaker 1: It's her, you know, it's like Luanne says, she's always
- 27:26Speaker 1: on Snatch Card. So Sonia embarrasses Ramona at her event.
- 27:32Speaker 1: And then she insults Dorinda by saying, that dress does
- 27:35Speaker 1: not look good on you. It is not a good color.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Why don't they have other colors? The reason the dress
- 27:40Speaker 1: was not the right size is because of her mic pack.
- 27:43Speaker 2: Yeah. And that's a good color for Dorinda. Dorinda looks
- 27:47Speaker 2: good in yellow, I think. I think she looks really
- 27:50Speaker 2: good in yellow.
- 27:51Speaker 1: I definitely didn't think it was a bad color.
- 27:54Speaker 2: No, not at all.
- 27:56Speaker 1: And you can sometimes see somebody and be like, I
- 27:58Speaker 1: love that dress on you, but not the right color.
- 28:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:01Speaker 1: But I didn't think it was a bad color. And
- 28:04Speaker 1: I don't think Dorinda was putting it on like, I'm
- 28:07Speaker 1: going to buy... And maybe she did. And maybe on
- 28:10Speaker 1: Hot Goss they said she did buy that dress. But
- 28:12Speaker 1: I think in her mind, like, she would have to
- 28:14Speaker 1: get all of her mic pack accoutrement off in order
- 28:17Speaker 1: to see how it fit. And, you know, she could
- 28:20Speaker 1: have gone up a size. It did seem a little tight.
- 28:23Speaker 2: Did it? I didn't really pick up on that.
- 28:26Speaker 1: When she turned around to the back, it was only
- 28:27Speaker 1: half zipped.
- 28:29Speaker 2: Oh, okay. I didn't see that.
- 28:30Speaker 1: But, again, mic pack and, you know, as a lady,
- 28:35Speaker 1: we're always like, if I lose two.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Pounds, it's going to fit perfectly. I also think that
- 28:39Speaker 2: Dorinda might have actually been irritated by Sonia because I
- 28:44Speaker 2: listened to Dorinda's radio show and I know that when
- 28:49Speaker 2: she got picked up for filming and stuff, it happened
- 28:52Speaker 2: really last minute. And getting clothing for all the scenes
- 28:55Speaker 2: and stuff was like a stressor for her. So I
- 28:58Speaker 2: feel like she actually probably was shopping and was looking
- 29:01Speaker 2: for things. And then to have, you know, Sonia start
- 29:05Speaker 2: criticizing the things that she was picking, I think it
- 29:07Speaker 2: actually did irritate her.
- 29:10Speaker 1: You could tell she's very irritated by Sonia and trying
- 29:13Speaker 1: not to be.
- 29:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:15Speaker 1: Because even on the boat, when Sonia was like, you know,
- 29:18Speaker 1: I just like people one-on-one. You know, I don't, like,
- 29:20Speaker 1: I just wanted it to be me and my husband.
- 29:22Speaker 1: I don't want all these other people. And, you know,
- 29:24Speaker 1: just like Jorinda, I'd love to be with you one-on-one.
- 29:26Speaker 1: She goes, I haven't seen you in years.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:29Speaker 1: You know, I think she's like, what are you talking about? Like,
- 29:33Speaker 1: and that's hard to to call somebody out just flat
- 29:36Speaker 1: out to be like okay I haven't you know I
- 29:38Speaker 1: think Dorinda is doing her best to not Dorinda flip
- 29:42Speaker 1: out on her and be like what are you talking
- 29:44Speaker 1: about you.
- 29:44Speaker 2: Know yeah it's coming though for sure.
- 29:47Speaker 1: It's gotta be coming it's gotta be coming especially if
- 29:50Speaker 1: Sonia continues this and just talking with none of it
- 29:54Speaker 1: none of it making sense or being the same thing
- 29:56Speaker 1: that she said earlier in the same day you know So,
- 30:01Speaker 1: you know, what I said was Ramona is, it's funny
- 30:04Speaker 1: because she's so awful and it's funny because she never changes.
- 30:08Speaker 1: And I like that production is showing this, her going
- 30:12Speaker 1: up to people because if it was a housewife show,
- 30:14Speaker 1: they may not have shown Ramona doing that, you know?
- 30:18Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure. I think, yeah, a lot of times
- 30:21Speaker 2: I feel like the network is like, you know, concerned
- 30:24Speaker 2: with how people are going to be perceived and would sometimes,
- 30:27Speaker 2: you know, they're a lot worse than you see too.
- 30:30Speaker 2: I mean, I know that they talk about like the
- 30:32Speaker 2: villain edit and stuff, but it's like, you know, I
- 30:35Speaker 2: talked to Janet from the Valley and she was saying
- 30:38Speaker 2: that Danny was just 10 times worse than what we
- 30:41Speaker 2: actually saw. Like Bravo actually added him in a positive way,
- 30:45Speaker 2: believe it or not.
- 30:46Speaker 1: So, well, yeah. And I think that they did the
- 30:49Speaker 1: same for Jack's for years. Yes.
- 30:51Speaker 2: Yes.
- 30:52Speaker 1: You know, you heard them. I mean, the things that
- 30:55Speaker 1: you heard him say to Brittany, like, um, you know,
- 30:59Speaker 1: you're fat, you drink too much. You're a terrible parent.
- 31:01Speaker 1: Like all the, and you've heard him say it. You're like,
- 31:03Speaker 1: what's he saying when the cameras, I.
- 31:05Speaker 2: Know that always makes me crazy about reality TV is like,
- 31:09Speaker 2: you see, sometimes you, you think somebody is terrible, but
- 31:12Speaker 2: they're doing all that stuff on camera. They see a camera,
- 31:15Speaker 2: they put on a microphone.
- 31:16Speaker 1: It's like, I mean, cause you know, you do say
- 31:19Speaker 1: a lot, like you never know what happens behind closed doors,
- 31:22Speaker 1: but you can say it in your real life and
- 31:23Speaker 1: you can say it on TV. If this person acts
- 31:26Speaker 1: this way in front of other people what are they
- 31:29Speaker 1: doing when other people are around and that's sort of
- 31:33Speaker 1: this situation so but it's funny but like ramona is
- 31:36Speaker 1: is i mean my note here it's funny because she's
- 31:39Speaker 1: so awful and probably if we had jill zarin on
- 31:43Speaker 1: we would be getting a similar situation you know yeah
- 31:47Speaker 1: okay but i meant to ask you this but rolling
- 31:50Speaker 1: back to jill zarin So they had not started filming
- 31:52Speaker 1: this show when she had her Bad Bunny post-Super Bowl rant.
- 31:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:58Speaker 1: So she had not filmed at all.
- 32:00Speaker 2: No, unless they did some pre-stuff, but it wasn't like.
- 32:05Speaker 1: They didn't have like four parties in the can.
- 32:07Speaker 2: That they had to mix? No, no, no, no, no.
- 32:10Speaker 1: Okay, because that's why I was like, God, I wonder
- 32:12Speaker 1: if they had like four events in the can that
- 32:14Speaker 1: they had to just act like never happened and then
- 32:16Speaker 1: pretend that, you know what I mean?
- 32:18Speaker 2: Yeah. No, but I think it was just about to
- 32:21Speaker 2: film because that was in January.
- 32:26Speaker 1: That would make sense. So we go to this dinner.
- 32:31Speaker 1: And this dinner, we start off and it's Ramona and
- 32:34Speaker 1: Sonia and then these two other people that I guess
- 32:36Speaker 1: Ramona has deemed okay to sit at their table. I
- 32:39Speaker 1: don't know if it was the yacht broker, but it
- 32:41Speaker 1: was two women sitting there. And Sonia what is she
- 32:46Speaker 1: even talking about? My boyfriend, this and that, and something
- 32:48Speaker 1: about her vagina. And you're like, boyfriend, what are you
- 32:53Speaker 1: talking about?
- 32:53Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 32:55Speaker 1: Like literally, what are you talking about?
- 32:57Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, it gets a little bit sad with her. Um,
- 33:02Speaker 2: I just, I just want her to do well. I
- 33:06Speaker 2: worry about her financially and, I'm happy that she's on
- 33:09Speaker 2: the show. I hope it goes for a solid five seasons.
- 33:12Speaker 2: I hope he pays them really well. I hope she
- 33:15Speaker 2: parlays it into some sort of sponsorship or something. I
- 33:21Speaker 2: hope that she's able to make some sort of business
- 33:24Speaker 2: out of it. I mean, she's so entertaining. She's so funny.
- 33:27Speaker 2: I feel like somebody should hire her for their product
- 33:30Speaker 2: or something. Yeah.
- 33:32Speaker 1: Where's the toaster oven?
- 33:33Speaker 2: I know. I would totally have bought a toaster oven
- 33:36Speaker 2: from her.
- 33:37Speaker 1: If she was going to do the toaster oven with
- 33:39Speaker 1: the cookbook of like meals you could do for one
- 33:42Speaker 1: or two people in a toaster oven, would it change
- 33:44Speaker 1: my life?
- 33:45Speaker 2: Yes, she could. I mean, I just feel like there's
- 33:49Speaker 2: so many opportunities and I just feel like she got
- 33:52Speaker 2: in her own way. Totally.
- 33:54Speaker 1: But you know what?
- 33:55Speaker 2: Okay. Idea.
- 33:57Speaker 1: Steal it. I would like for somebody to steal it
- 33:59Speaker 1: and send it to Sonia. Because now toaster ovens are
- 34:03Speaker 1: kind of out and air fryers are in.
- 34:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:06Speaker 1: She should do– we should definitely see her in her
- 34:08Speaker 1: place with her air fryer saying, you know, I don't
- 34:12Speaker 1: do the toaster oven anymore because now it's an air
- 34:14Speaker 1: fryer because now you can do everything in the air fryer.
- 34:16Speaker 1: And then because air fryer– everybody wants an air fryer
- 34:19Speaker 1: and everybody wants like a small one that doesn't sound
- 34:21Speaker 1: like a rocket taking off of your car. Speaking for myself,
- 34:24Speaker 1: I've had two because the first one was too loud.
- 34:27Speaker 1: This is totally what she should pivot into.
- 34:29Speaker 2: Yes.
- 34:30Speaker 1: A toaster oven and a cookbook for toaster ovens. I mean,
- 34:33Speaker 1: so sorry. So air fryer– Cookbook for air fryers.
- 34:37Speaker 2: So what's like the popular band, popular brand of air fryers?
- 34:43Speaker 1: There's a Cuisinart one.
- 34:44Speaker 2: Ninja, I think. Yeah. Can one of you guys please
- 34:49Speaker 2: hire Sonia? That would be a really funny commercial. It
- 34:52Speaker 2: would go viral on Instagram. Like, come on, you guys.
- 34:56Speaker 2: Come on.
- 34:56Speaker 1: Come on. Number one, give her a free air fryer.
- 35:01Speaker 1: Number one.
- 35:02Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe even do like a Sonia edition and it
- 35:05Speaker 2: can be like pink glitter or something or something fancy
- 35:09Speaker 2: that pops on the countertop.
- 35:12Speaker 1: It has a little logo of like a little crown
- 35:15Speaker 1: on it.
- 35:16Speaker 2: Yeah, something. Make something cute.
- 35:19Speaker 1: Okay, please. Cuisinart, Ninja, somebody, reach.
- 35:23Speaker 2: Out to Sonia. I feel like Ninja would do something
- 35:28Speaker 2: like that.
- 35:29Speaker 1: I would love it. I would love it.
- 35:31Speaker 2: Okay.
- 35:32Speaker 1: Come on, Ninja. Give Sonia an air fryer.
- 35:35Speaker 2: Yes. Yes.
- 35:36Speaker 1: It would be perfect.
- 35:37Speaker 2: Sponsorship.
- 35:39Speaker 1: Cause you know, she has one and you know, she's
- 35:41Speaker 1: in there making all her meals. Y'all, if you know me,
- 35:46Speaker 1: you know how obsessed I am with the real, real.
- 35:48Speaker 1: I have been a member since January of 2019 and
- 35:51Speaker 1: I'm on that site every week. I mean, maybe every day,
- 35:55Speaker 1: but sometimes I go on the app and I'm just
- 35:57Speaker 1: browsing and But a lot of times I have something
- 35:59Speaker 1: very specific in mind that I'm hunting for. Lately, my
- 36:02Speaker 1: mission has been gifts. I love to get gifts. Yes,

- 36:16Speaker 1: that perfect gift for people in my life. I even
- 36:18Speaker 1: got my husband an amazing wallet. And speaking of gifts,
- 36:23Speaker 1: I got myself the cutest small pink patent leather Louis
- 36:27Speaker 1: Vuitton bag. It's perfect for a night out. It was
- 36:30Speaker 1: very reasonably priced. I use it constantly and people always
- 36:33Speaker 1: ask me where I got it. It's adorable. And yeah, okay,
- 36:37Speaker 1: I love to buy on the RealReal, but my main

- 37:42Speaker 1: slash pinkshade. Y'all know how you see the social media
- 37:46Speaker 1: posts like, what's in your bag? Where's this girl going?
- 37:49Speaker 1: What are you doing? Well, let me tell you what's
- 37:51Speaker 1: in my bag, okay? It's very exciting. It's Breath Mint,
- 37:54Speaker 1: my reading glasses, my wallet, my keys, and my Thrive
- 37:57Speaker 1: Cosmetics Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara, my lip stain, and their
- 38:02Speaker 1: Focus Eyeshadow Palette. Has a mirror? So you can check
- 38:05Speaker 1: yourself before you wreck yourself. Like I can't tell you
- 38:07Speaker 1: how many times I used that mirror while we were
- 38:09Speaker 1: in New York. And lately, I'm just super into Thrive's
- 38:12Speaker 1: Lasting Mark Lip Defining Stain. That's also a great thing
- 38:16Speaker 1: to have in your bag because you can use it
- 38:17Speaker 1: all day. I'm like lining my lips with that stuff
- 38:20Speaker 1: as much as Lisa Barlow is, okay? But sometimes really
- 38:23Speaker 1: a lip stain will dry your lips out. But this
- 38:25Speaker 1: one is hydrating and kind of feels like your bare
- 38:27Speaker 1: lips instead of being, ew, like a dry lip. So
- 38:30Speaker 1: for me, I can throw on Thrive's mascara and this
- 38:33Speaker 1: lip stain and be ready to go out into the
- 38:35Speaker 1: world for the entire day. That's all I need. And
- 38:38Speaker 1: did you know, I'm sure you did, For every product purchased,

- 39:27Speaker 1: dot com slash pink shade and tell them we sent you. So, okay.
- 39:33Speaker 1: Back to our thoughts. Let's remove all of that. We
- 39:37Speaker 1: want the sponsorship for her, but now we have to
- 39:39Speaker 1: go back to saying what was happening at this dinner.
- 39:42Speaker 1: Ramona doesn't seem to be trying to control her or, like,
- 39:47Speaker 1: she was mad at her at the event because she was,
- 39:49Speaker 1: you know, talking over her and stuff, which was really rude.
- 39:52Speaker 1: Even though Ramona's annoying, that was really rude that she
- 39:54Speaker 1: was doing that at the event. But Ramona doesn't seem
- 39:59Speaker 1: to be bothered by the stories that she's telling or
- 40:03Speaker 1: the fact that she appears to be pouring some sort
- 40:06Speaker 1: of shot into her mocktail that she, it's orange, so
- 40:10Speaker 1: maybe you're supposed to think it's orange juice, but come on.
- 40:14Speaker 1: They're showing it on camera, I think, to let you
- 40:17Speaker 1: know what's happening, you know?
- 40:19Speaker 2: Yeah. I don't think she's a sober person, but, you know.
- 40:24Speaker 1: But Ramona, it was interesting that at that dinner, she's like, oh,
- 40:27Speaker 1: my God, girl, you're so funny. And she's doing that
- 40:30Speaker 1: whole thing, and she's not correcting her. She seems to
- 40:33Speaker 1: be in a much better mood. And I wonder if
- 40:35Speaker 1: that's because Ramona didn't feel so, like, Palm Beach stuffy
- 40:38Speaker 1: as she did at the store. where she felt like
- 40:40Speaker 1: these are like my ladies who lunch friends. And now
- 40:43Speaker 1: these are my nighttime go out party friends.
- 40:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 40:48Speaker 1: But they arrived.
- 40:49Speaker 2: Okay.
- 40:49Speaker 1: Now Luann arrives with her, her hairdresser, her hairdresser's boyfriend
- 40:54Speaker 1: and her assistant. Now these are her, these are her
- 40:57Speaker 1: gaggle of gays. These are her besties. They're all apparently
- 41:00Speaker 1: living with her there in Palm beach. She says, and
- 41:03Speaker 1: probably she's like, darling, I'm going to film this show.
- 41:06Speaker 1: They're giving me a three bedroom condo. Why don't you
- 41:09Speaker 1: guys just come?
- 41:10Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure. For sure. And she's just.
- 41:13Speaker 1: Giving them a place to live for three months in
- 41:15Speaker 1: Palm Beach and probably paying them very little. But she's like,
- 41:18Speaker 1: every time I go somewhere, you can go somewhere. Production
- 41:20Speaker 1: will pay for it.
- 41:22Speaker 2: Yeah. And then by having them there, she's probably saving
- 41:27Speaker 2: on her hair and makeup and all that stuff. Yeah,
- 41:29Speaker 2: for sure. Yeah. Yes.
- 41:31Speaker 1: So she shows up with her three gays plus Michael,
- 41:35Speaker 1: her boyfriend. And this is her group. This is her team.
- 41:39Speaker 1: And- Ramona is immediately like, no, no, no, no. I
- 41:43Speaker 1: told you, no, I told you, no, I told you
- 41:45Speaker 1: you could invite one person, one person. It's Michael. I said,
- 41:48Speaker 1: you can bring a plus one, one. And it had
- 41:50Speaker 1: to be like, she didn't, she didn't even say like,
- 41:52Speaker 1: you can bring a plus one. It's like, you could
- 41:53Speaker 1: bring a plus one. It has to be Michael. So
- 41:56Speaker 1: she walks in with these three extra people. Now Luann
- 41:59Speaker 1: did not hear it was a dinner, but it was
- 42:02Speaker 1: a restaurant. But I think, you know, she, she said,
- 42:06Speaker 1: you know, and I think this happens a lot in Miami.
- 42:08Speaker 1: when the dinner service is over at like 11, it
- 42:11Speaker 1: turns into a nightclub and you can dance on the
- 42:12Speaker 1: tables and stuff with the sparklers, which she later calls sprinklers.
- 42:17Speaker 2: I caught that too.
- 42:19Speaker 1: Look at the sprinklers. The sprinklers are coming out. They're beautiful.
- 42:21Speaker 1: They're beautiful, the sprinklers. But what is your thought on
- 42:25Speaker 1: that about Luann bringing three extra people? I think it's fine.
- 42:29Speaker 1: No matter who they are.
- 42:30Speaker 2: I think it's fine. It's a party. There's a lot
- 42:32Speaker 2: of people there. I think Ramona gets irritated though because–
- 42:36Speaker 2: She doesn't want them sitting at the table. She doesn't
- 42:38Speaker 2: want them filming. She doesn't want them distracting from the
- 42:43Speaker 2: scene because I also think, you know, she's been doing
- 42:46Speaker 2: this for so long. She just doesn't want that extra
- 42:48Speaker 2: kind of fluff in there because they want to get
- 42:51Speaker 2: the scenes done and go home. You know, it is
- 42:53Speaker 2: a job. They're clocked in.
- 42:55Speaker 1: That's a great point. That's a great point. She wants,
- 42:58Speaker 1: she's like, it is 1030 and I would like to
- 43:00Speaker 1: go to bed.
- 43:01Speaker 2: Yeah. So I don't, I mean, I think she's rude
- 43:03Speaker 2: and all that stuff too. But I also think that
- 43:06Speaker 2: she is doing a job and to have extra kind
- 43:10Speaker 2: of people there can delay what they have to get done.
- 43:14Speaker 2: You know, there's a point of every scene.
- 43:17Speaker 1: You're right. I didn't think about that. I was just like,
- 43:20Speaker 1: she's so awful. And she's like, I don't even know
- 43:23Speaker 1: their names. They're staff. You're staff. This is staff. You're
- 43:25Speaker 1: paying them. They're staff. It's like, oh, my God.
- 43:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 43:28Speaker 1: Luanne's like, stop that. These are my friends. Like, stop.
- 43:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:33Speaker 1: I mean– And that is so rude to be like,
- 43:35Speaker 1: I don't know your name, your staff, go to the bar.
- 43:38Speaker 1: I mean, and sweet, the little, the littlest gay.
- 43:41Speaker 2: The little one, the little one, Roger.
- 43:43Speaker 1: He was like, girl.
- 43:45Speaker 2: Oh yeah, he was probably the bitchier of all of them.
- 43:48Speaker 2: He's the one that you probably wouldn't want to mess
- 43:50Speaker 2: with because he was getting aggravated. He was getting activated
- 43:53Speaker 2: for sure.
- 43:55Speaker 1: I loved it. I thought it was hilarious because, you know,
- 43:58Speaker 1: he probably went in there like, this is my moment,
- 44:01Speaker 1: you know?
- 44:02Speaker 2: Yeah. And I think also, I think Ramona is going
- 44:04Speaker 2: to pick up on that too. And she sees like
- 44:07Speaker 2: three gay guys kind of like coming towards the table
- 44:09Speaker 2: and she's like, Oh no, Oh no, you guys turn around.
- 44:13Speaker 2: This is not about you. Also. I don't think, I mean,
- 44:18Speaker 2: Ramona probably doesn't want Luann to come into a scene
- 44:23Speaker 2: with like three allies behind her. Like she doesn't, you know,
- 44:26Speaker 2: she doesn't want that. And Ramona, Ramona was, by herself.
- 44:30Speaker 2: I mean, she invited people, but they weren't like, you know,
- 44:34Speaker 2: attached to her. Yeah.
- 44:35Speaker 1: I mean, she had those two, but it's, but it's her,
- 44:38Speaker 1: it's her event.
- 44:38Speaker 2: It's her event.
- 44:39Speaker 1: It's my event. So she tells Luann's three guys like, no, no,
- 44:45Speaker 1: go to the bar. And Luann's like, darling, you said
- 44:47Speaker 1: it was a party. Now we did go, I was
- 44:49Speaker 1: hoping they would roll back and show us the scene.
- 44:50Speaker 1: And they did. And she didn't say it's a dinner,
- 44:54Speaker 1: but she did say it's at this restaurant and bring
- 44:57Speaker 1: one person, bring one person. Now, I think Luann could
- 45:01Speaker 1: have brought the three guys and just said, you guys
- 45:03Speaker 1: hang out at the bar and let me figure out
- 45:05Speaker 1: what's going on first. Because maybe I do have to
- 45:08Speaker 1: sit down and film, like, dinner.
- 45:09Speaker 2: Yeah. You know?
- 45:12Speaker 1: But she just walked up to the table. And let
- 45:14Speaker 1: me tell you something. If you have a table for
- 45:16Speaker 1: ten and three extra people walk up, you don't have
- 45:18Speaker 1: a place for them to sit, you know?
- 45:20Speaker 2: Exactly. And honestly, you know, I'm gay. I'm going to– I,
- 45:26Speaker 2: you know– like support my gay brothers in arms. But,
- 45:33Speaker 2: you know, they don't belong at the table. They're not
- 45:36Speaker 2: cast members. They're not friends of, you know, they shouldn't
- 45:39Speaker 2: be sitting at the table.
- 45:41Speaker 1: Well, it was kind of rude for Luann to invite
- 45:43Speaker 1: three extra people.
- 45:44Speaker 2: For sure.
- 45:44Speaker 1: You can only bring one. But again, if she wanted
- 45:46Speaker 1: to bring them because it was going to pop off
- 45:47Speaker 1: later and be a party, be like, you guys hang
- 45:50Speaker 1: at the bar and when I'm done, I'll come back over.
- 45:52Speaker 1: She didn't have to bring them over for drama.
- 45:54Speaker 2: Right.
- 45:55Speaker 1: But maybe she's like, Maybe I will because it'll be
- 45:58Speaker 1: funny because it'll make Ramona look horrible because she'll– Yeah.
- 46:01Speaker 1: She doesn't know their names. She's met them a hundred–
- 46:03Speaker 1: not– there's not one person ever that you could run
- 46:07Speaker 1: across that has not said the exact same thing about Ramona. Yeah.
- 46:10Speaker 1: That she remembers no one's name unless it's important to her.
- 46:15Speaker 1: So she will– you know, Bethany said that. Like, Bethany's like,
- 46:18Speaker 1: I've had the same assistant for 12 years. And she's like, anyway,
- 46:22Speaker 1: that girl that works for you, you know? She's just,
- 46:25Speaker 1: you know, it's just like we would see her on
- 46:27Speaker 1: Real Housewives and she would go up to the staff
- 46:29Speaker 1: and be like, what about the staff? And they're going
- 46:31Speaker 1: to unpack my bags.
- 46:32Speaker 2: Unpack this.
- 46:33Speaker 1: She just, it's like Lou Anne, I think, said she's classist.
- 46:39Speaker 1: She's allegedly racist. She's homophobic. You know, she's, we won't know.
- 46:45Speaker 2: She's ignorant. Yeah, for sure. Okay. Yeah.
- 46:48Speaker 1: I think, yeah, ignorant's a great word.
- 46:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 46:50Speaker 1: But here she is on our TV. So anyway. In
- 46:54Speaker 1: my opinion at this dinner, Sonia did not seem all
- 46:58Speaker 1: of her faculties with her. And Lou Anne was like,
- 47:01Speaker 1: why is your face so red?
- 47:03Speaker 2: Yeah, that was weird. What was that about?
- 47:05Speaker 1: I think all of a sudden she got very flush.
- 47:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 47:08Speaker 1: You know, and it's sort of like if you have
- 47:10Speaker 1: red wine, maybe you get flushed or– because nobody else
- 47:14Speaker 1: was like sweating or hot. Everybody seemed to be like
- 47:16Speaker 1: in long sleeves, you know?
- 47:18Speaker 2: Yeah, that was weird.
- 47:20Speaker 1: I don't– I'm– Mixing up a medication and.
- 47:24Speaker 2: I remember one time, I've never smoked in my life,
- 47:28Speaker 2: but a lot of creative people will take the nicotine
- 47:33Speaker 2: lozenges because it will give you so much energy. So
- 47:36Speaker 2: I was like, I'll try that. I tried it and
- 47:39Speaker 2: I got a head to toe red rash. Really?
- 47:43Speaker 1: Did it go away when it wore off?
- 47:45Speaker 2: Yeah, but it was like- I felt hot everywhere and
- 47:50Speaker 2: I thought I was going to pass out for sure. Yeah.
- 47:53Speaker 1: I mean, I'll get hot. I mean, and again, I'm
- 47:55Speaker 1: speaking as a lady of a certain age, we do
- 47:57Speaker 1: get hot and flush like really quick, but it really
- 48:00Speaker 1: will be because you had a glass of wine and
- 48:04Speaker 1: all of a sudden like your cheeks are hot. That
- 48:07Speaker 1: really does happen. And so in my, in my experience,
- 48:12Speaker 1: it could have been that she took something before she came.
- 48:17Speaker 1: And then had a drink and it made her very
- 48:20Speaker 1: flush because it didn't seem to last. But she's just like,
- 48:22Speaker 1: I'm just so overstimulated with all these people.
- 48:24Speaker 2: And we're like, okay.
- 48:25Speaker 1: But Luann was very much like, darling, what's wrong with
- 48:29Speaker 1: your face, darling? You know?
- 48:32Speaker 2: And Luann was, I felt like Girls Trip, I liked it.
- 48:37Speaker 2: I enjoyed it. She was a little insufferable there, but
- 48:40Speaker 2: she seems more lucid. At least, I mean, this is
- 48:43Speaker 2: only episode one, but she does seem more lucid.
- 48:46Speaker 1: She doesn't seem so narcissistic.
- 48:49Speaker 2: Yeah, or scattered. Like, she was so scattered in the
- 48:52Speaker 2: girl's trip.
- 48:54Speaker 1: She just seems more focused on the job at hand. Okay,
- 48:59Speaker 1: here's my note. Ramona once again yells at Luann's assistants.
- 49:03Speaker 1: Sonia's not sober. And surprisingly, surprisingly, Dorinda does not seem shit-faced.
- 49:11Speaker 3: Right.
- 49:12Speaker 2: At all.
- 49:12Speaker 1: And Luann.
- 49:15Speaker 1: Not either. Now, I was about to say maybe she's
- 49:17Speaker 1: on her best behavior because her boyfriend's there, but we
- 49:19Speaker 1: saw how she acted. when her boyfriend was on Ultimate
- 49:21Speaker 1: Girl's Trip. But my God, I mean, Luann's been filming
- 49:24Speaker 1: all year.
- 49:26Speaker 2: Yeah. Luann, like, she's back.
- 49:28Speaker 1: She's doing all the shows.
- 49:30Speaker 2: She's back.
- 49:31Speaker 1: But I felt that she was actually kind of trying
- 49:34Speaker 1: to look out for Sonya a little bit. Like, girl,
- 49:38Speaker 1: are you okay?
- 49:39Speaker 2: Yeah. You know?
- 49:40Speaker 1: And then, of course, you know, Sonya goes to the
- 49:41Speaker 1: bathroom and I don't know who it was that went
- 49:44Speaker 1: with her. I think it was maybe production because it
- 49:45Speaker 1: was a woman. And she's just like, you know, I'm farting.
- 49:51Speaker 1: I'm going to poop my pants. I'm like, what is
- 49:53Speaker 1: with these women and their digestive systems?
- 49:56Speaker 2: Yeah. She should get a probiotic sponsorship. Like, come on.
- 50:02Speaker 2: All of them. It can be sponsored by the OG cast.
- 50:07Speaker 1: She needs a probiotic. She needs something. to keep her
- 50:10Speaker 1: regular because no matter what happens, she's always got some
- 50:13Speaker 1: sort of bathroom issue.
- 50:14Speaker 2: Yeah, and throwing up in the sink, like, ugh.
- 50:18Speaker 1: Did we need to see that?
- 50:19Speaker 2: We did not need to see that.
- 50:21Speaker 1: Did we need to see that? And for her to say,
- 50:23Speaker 1: to make myself burp, I stick my finger down my throat?
- 50:26Speaker 2: No, that's not a thing. That's not a thing.
- 50:29Speaker 1: And also, take a gas ex. I mean, it's just
- 50:32Speaker 1: pretty easy. Like, if you feel like you're gassy, take
- 50:35Speaker 1: a gas ex.
- 50:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 50:37Speaker 1: She needs to have them in all her pockets. So
- 50:41Speaker 1: the first episode ends with Luann getting mad because Ramona
- 50:45Speaker 1: and Sonya are trying to be funny and kind of
- 50:47Speaker 1: recreate their old days of where Ramona and Sonya would, like,
- 50:51Speaker 1: get drunk together and, like, fight over guys and stuff.
- 50:55Speaker 1: But they're rubbing all over Luann's boyfriend, like, lifting his
- 50:57Speaker 1: shirt up and putting their hand on his butt and stuff.
- 51:00Speaker 1: I was like, okay.
- 51:02Speaker 2: Yeah, way too much. Way too much.
- 51:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 51:06Speaker 2: I would be furious, too, if I was Luann. I
- 51:09Speaker 2: would be mad. I'd be like, stop touching my guy.
- 51:12Speaker 1: It's okay to dance.
- 51:13Speaker 2: Yeah. That's dirty dancing. Very dirty.
- 51:19Speaker 1: And did she say they were sexually harassing him? I
- 51:22Speaker 1: was trying to remember what phrase she used.
- 51:24Speaker 2: Yes. Yeah. She said, you are sexually harassing him.
- 51:28Speaker 1: And then that's how they end with her being mad.
- 51:30Speaker 1: And we get a lot of quick clips of the season.
- 51:33Speaker 1: And it does seem they go on some sort of
- 51:35Speaker 1: trip and Ramona– I mean, sorry. Sonia says, I feel
- 51:41Speaker 1: comfortable enough with you all that I'm going to be
- 51:42Speaker 1: able to let loose. So does that mean like she's
- 51:44Speaker 1: going to pretend like this is her first drink she's had?
- 51:46Speaker 2: Oh, gosh.
- 51:50Speaker 1: Okay. But I also want to talk about the little
- 51:53Speaker 1: show they had afterward called Hot Goss.
- 51:55Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 51:56Speaker 1: Who are these guys? Do you know these guys?
- 51:58Speaker 2: I don't know these guys. It's like the short clips
- 52:01Speaker 2: have popped up in like my Instagram algorithm before. So
- 52:05Speaker 2: I've seen it.
- 52:08Speaker 1: It is a show on E that they do otherwise,
- 52:12Speaker 1: or it's not just for this?
- 52:14Speaker 2: No, no, they've done this before. They've interviewed lots of
- 52:18Speaker 2: actors and stuff too. So I think it's part of
- 52:20Speaker 2: like E news kind of thing.
- 52:22Speaker 1: Okay.
- 52:22Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I've definitely, I've seen them do interviews with
- 52:26Speaker 2: like lots of people. Yeah. Okay. In their towels. And
- 52:29Speaker 2: I was very, I was like, are you guys wearing
- 52:31Speaker 2: stuff under the towels? Like I'm concerned with like, what's
- 52:36Speaker 2: going to come popping out.
- 52:37Speaker 1: And they're definitely in tidy whiteys under the towels and
- 52:42Speaker 1: they definitely have them oiled up.
- 52:44Speaker 2: Oh, they're so oiled up. I felt like at one
- 52:46Speaker 2: point he got more oiled. Like he went from one
- 52:49Speaker 2: and then you cut back to him and he's even greasier.
- 52:53Speaker 1: It's like they do a commercial break and they just
- 52:54Speaker 1: pour oil all over them. They're pretending to be in
- 52:59Speaker 1: a sauna because no person in their right mind would
- 53:05Speaker 1: film in a sauna, so you look like shit. So
- 53:09Speaker 1: it's a funny idea. There's no steam, so they have
- 53:12Speaker 1: these two guys that look like they're sweating in a
- 53:14Speaker 1: sauna just from the neck down, not on their faces.
- 53:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 53:17Speaker 1: And they had Luann and Sonia on. So I guess
- 53:22Speaker 1: they're going to do this after every episode.
- 53:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 53:26Speaker 1: And Sonia was funny.
- 53:28Speaker 2: She's hilarious. She's so funny. She was definitely on. She
- 53:33Speaker 2: was cracking up everybody behind the camera. You heard them
- 53:36Speaker 2: laughing like a studio audience. She's hilarious. Yeah.
- 53:44Speaker 1: It was funny. It was good. She didn't seem... drunk
- 53:47Speaker 1: or weird, you know, but what did you think about
- 53:50Speaker 1: the little interstitials where they were doing? Cause I watched
- 53:53Speaker 1: the eight o'clock. I assume they did it for the
- 53:55Speaker 1: next one, but they had them, the cast on camera,
- 53:58Speaker 1: like coming up next, you know, life is golden. Did
- 54:02Speaker 1: you see all that?
- 54:03Speaker 2: I didn't. I was fast forwarding through the commercials. I
- 54:06Speaker 2: think I missed that or it wasn't in, I think
- 54:09Speaker 2: I saw the 10 PM showing. I don't know if
- 54:12Speaker 2: it was in that.
- 54:13Speaker 1: Okay, so this must have been in the preview version
- 54:15Speaker 1: that I watched at 8. I mean, I texted you.
- 54:17Speaker 1: I was like, I can't stay up until 12. What
- 54:19Speaker 1: am I going to do? Because yesterday I had to
- 54:22Speaker 1: wake up at 4.15 because I flew home from Mississippi.
- 54:26Speaker 1: And I was like, I have got to go to bed.
- 54:30Speaker 1: So I was so happy that I watched the 8 o'clock.
- 54:32Speaker 1: So the 8 o'clock version, they had all of them.
- 54:35Speaker 1: Ramona looked great, by the way. She was on the
- 54:37Speaker 1: back row. But they were reading so obviously from a
- 54:41Speaker 1: prompter or cue cards. because the way that their eyes
- 54:43Speaker 1: were like darting, you know, Luann was the least obvious
- 54:48Speaker 1: of all. They had her in the front center chair
- 54:51Speaker 1: and they had each of them obviously saying like, are
- 54:55Speaker 1: you enjoying the show? Like Palm beach is so amazing.
- 54:58Speaker 1: Stay tuned. And then, you know, Ramona would be like,
- 55:00Speaker 1: let's get golden. You know? Yeah.
- 55:05Speaker 2: I did not see that at all. I guess that
- 55:07Speaker 2: must've been the 8 PM.
- 55:09Speaker 1: It must've just been, they were just doing that, but
- 55:11Speaker 1: it was, So funny because you're trying to see, especially
- 55:14Speaker 1: Sonia trying to look at a cue card, which was
- 55:17Speaker 1: obviously directly in front of them. So they told them,
- 55:20Speaker 1: read your line, look at the cue card, but be
- 55:22Speaker 1: looking at the camera because they're both like, they're all doing,
- 55:25Speaker 1: like their eyes were moving so frenetically up and down.
- 55:28Speaker 1: And like I said, Luann did the best. She did
- 55:30Speaker 1: the best of making it look like she wasn't reading something.
- 55:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 55:34Speaker 1: But they were, these are not seasoned cue card people.
- 55:38Speaker 1: teleprompter readers.
- 55:39Speaker 2: What do you think about Kelly Ben Simone being part
- 55:41Speaker 2: of it? I feel like, I don't know. I mean,
- 55:44Speaker 2: I like her and everything, but it, I think.
- 55:47Speaker 1: She deserves to be there.
- 55:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 55:49Speaker 1: I do. And I, it's hard for me. I waver
- 55:52Speaker 1: on that a little bit. Um, let me tell you
- 55:55Speaker 1: something funny about Kelly.
- 55:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 55:57Speaker 1: So Kelly's daughter, um, went to Ole Miss where I went,
- 56:01Speaker 1: my whole family went and my, um, son goes to
- 56:03Speaker 1: college currently. So I was there, um, this weekend and
- 56:08Speaker 1: I was, you know, the Ole Miss is known for
- 56:10Speaker 1: their tailgating. We were in the Grove and we were
- 56:12Speaker 1: at our tent and there's these people there. It's somebody
- 56:14Speaker 1: I grew up with and he lives in New York now.
- 56:17Speaker 1: And we were chatting about, when you tell people you're
- 56:20Speaker 1: a podcaster, the reaction is like, that's fun. Oh, you know,
- 56:28Speaker 1: like that's, you know, that's not a real job. Kind
- 56:30Speaker 1: of a, or people are like super interested and want
- 56:33Speaker 1: to know like, how does it work with ads? How
- 56:35Speaker 1: often do you do it? Because people listen to podcasts
- 56:38Speaker 1: and they really sort of want to know how it
- 56:40Speaker 1: all works. So this person that I know from my
- 56:43Speaker 1: childhood and his daughter, we were talking. Daughter, you know,
- 56:46Speaker 1: in her 20s. And they were asking me, like, what
- 56:49Speaker 1: shows I cover. Some of them they really like on
- 56:52Speaker 1: TLC and stuff. And I was like, but Thursdays, if you're,
- 56:54Speaker 1: most people are interested. I was like, Thursday I cover Bravas.
- 56:57Speaker 1: And then they kind of perk up. So he said,
- 57:00Speaker 1: he goes, are you covering that new show with KKB?
- 57:05Speaker 1: And I go, Kelly Killian-Bensimon? And he said, yeah. He goes, yeah,
- 57:09Speaker 1: she's around because he lives in New York. And I said, well,
- 57:12Speaker 1: you know, her daughter went here to Ole Miss. And
- 57:14Speaker 1: she would go into stores in Oxford, Mississippi, Jason. Go
- 57:18Speaker 1: into stores. And of course, she's tall and beautiful. And
- 57:21Speaker 1: she would, I think, kind of want to be recognized.
- 57:26Speaker 1: And it wasn't happening. Because people are like, you're not
- 57:30Speaker 1: Southern famous. You're just famous. Yeah, you know? weren't giving
- 57:33Speaker 1: her the attention she probably thought she would get if
- 57:35Speaker 1: she was in New York.
- 57:36Speaker 2: Yeah. Cause when you really think about it, like she
- 57:39Speaker 2: only did what three seasons of the original show.
- 57:44Speaker 1: I was going to say three. Yeah.
- 57:45Speaker 2: Yeah. Cause she came in season two.
- 57:48Speaker 1: She's most famous for this, for Scary Island.
- 57:51Speaker 2: Yeah. And that was a long time ago. That was,
- 57:56Speaker 2: was it like 2011 or something or 12 when she left?
- 57:59Speaker 2: So that's a long time ago. She had a, a
- 58:01Speaker 2: short stint on the, the girls trip, but that's about it. Like,
- 58:07Speaker 2: so she's not famous, famous, really, but I like it,
- 58:10Speaker 2: but I like season three.
- 58:12Speaker 1: It was season three.
- 58:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 58:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 58:14Speaker 2: Season.
- 58:15Speaker 1: And then, so I do, I do believe she filmed
- 58:17Speaker 1: season four as well.
- 58:18Speaker 2: Right.
- 58:18Speaker 1: So she probably did two, three, four.
- 58:20Speaker 2: Yeah. She did two, three, four. Cause four was the
- 58:23Speaker 2: one where they went to Morocco and that's, and then
- 58:25Speaker 2: after that season, they got rid of like three of the. Yeah. Yes.
- 58:30Speaker 1: Um, It's a great episode, guys, if you don't know it.
- 58:33Speaker 1: If you are new to the Bravo, what are you
- 58:35Speaker 1: doing with your life? You got to go watch the scary...
- 58:37Speaker 1: Just watch that. Watch the one before and the one after.
- 58:41Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like a three-episode arc, and it's like classic
- 58:45Speaker 2: reality television.
- 58:47Speaker 1: I mean, if you remember, she's like, Al Sharpton.
- 58:52Speaker 2: I know. She lost her mind.
- 58:54Speaker 1: Yeah, and they sent her home. Yeah.
- 58:57Speaker 2: Yeah. I think that she just... And she seems to
- 59:01Speaker 2: be over it now, but I think back in the
- 59:03Speaker 2: day she was so concerned with how she would be
- 59:07Speaker 2: looked at and how people would look at her. at
- 59:10Speaker 2: her that she was just way too in her head
- 59:12Speaker 2: and she just ended up looking crazy.
- 59:14Speaker 1: I mean, and I think the reason, because I think
- 59:18Speaker 1: your point is valid is like, should she be there? What,
- 59:20Speaker 1: you know, you think of like the OGs, you think
- 59:22Speaker 1: of Bethany, Jill, Ramona. But I think because she's such
- 59:27Speaker 1: in the lore world, And I think because she is
- 59:29Speaker 1: such a New Yorker that they do probably see her socially. Yeah. She's,
- 59:35Speaker 1: you know, I think she's a smidge younger than them,
- 59:38Speaker 1: you know? I think she's more in the Carol Radswell
- 59:41Speaker 1: age range.
- 59:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 59:44Speaker 1: You know, probably like early fifties instead of late fifties,
- 59:47Speaker 1: you know, sixties.
- 59:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 59:48Speaker 1: But I thought she did great on this show. I
- 59:51Speaker 1: think she was very herself. I felt like she wasn't
- 59:54Speaker 1: like you're saying, trying to, be something, you know?
- 59:58Speaker 2: Yeah. I think she's just a lot more comfortable than
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: she was back then, you know? And she's doing great.
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: Like she sold something like $ 50 million worth of real
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: estate in like three months or something. She's really like
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: exploding on that front. Like it's pretty impressive. Yeah.
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: Her and Megan King Edmonds.
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: I mean, I know not a fan of Megan King Edmonds.
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: Megan King Edmonds just living in New York city as
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: if she does not have three children.
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: I know.
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: I don't, I mean, because I know her ex got
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: custody of the kids and maybe she just sees them
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: in the summer and maybe she's like, this is the
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: life I always wanted. I don't know.
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. I know. It's not great. I never, I
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: was never a fan of hers. She always kind of
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: just irked me a little bit.
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: I was a fan of hers because of the Megan
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: King Edmonds detective agency.
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: I'm like anybody who's going to do a deep dive
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: and try to uncover something.
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: Yeah. I like that she did that, but I still
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: never thought that she fit in with Orange County at all.
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: She was always like how Dorinda would say, the turnip
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: in the fruit basket. Megan King Edmonds was the turnip
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: in the fruit basket of Orange County.
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: Okay, that's hilarious. That's hilarious. Well, overall, I'm glad because
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: you reached out and you're like, I want to come
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: back on and do this show I want to discuss.
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: And I was like, perfect. Because I would have watched it,
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: but I probably wouldn't have been like, I got to
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: make sure my DVR is set. Unless you would have
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: reached out to remind me of it.
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: I'm so excited about that.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: It's now on my DVR. It'll be recorded because I'm
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: going out of town soon and it'll all be ready
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: for me when I get back. I'll do a binge.
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: It'll be amazing. So I do appreciate you kind of
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: prodding me on it.
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: Yeah. I was like, oh my gosh, I got to
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: talk to somebody about it. Even....
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: Ramona, who I'm pretty sure would be mean to me.
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: I mean, I'm 100% sure she would be mean to me.
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: Even Ramona, I'm glad to see her stupid racist aspect.
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: Yeah. I know I feel a little guilty about my
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: affection towards her, but- We all do.
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: We all do. Torn.
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: I know. But I do find her entertaining. I like
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: the psychology of it. I like analyzing it. I like
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: You know, like I can, I'm pretty, cause I'm a writer.
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: I can kind of like drop myself into characters. And
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: so like, even when the thing where she's getting so
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: mad about Luann bringing the gaze over, like I also
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: can drop myself in there and be like, okay, she's
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: not being completely rude. It's because she has a job.
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: She doesn't want people to make that job last longer.
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: It's like, I waited tables for 20 years. Right. You
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: do not like when somebody comes in five minutes until
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: the kitchen's supposed to close. So that means you have
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: to work like an hour, hour and a half more.
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: Nobody likes that. Nobody likes their job being extended longer
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: than it needs to be.
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: I just didn't think about it like that. But she
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: didn't have to be such an asshole to those guys
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: and be like, your staff, your staff.
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: Right. Well, that's her default. So she just drops into
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: that really easily.
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: You're beneath me because you work here. Yeah.
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: We could talk about that all day.
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: Tell everybody where they can follow you and where they
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: can get your book and all this. I have your book.
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: I believe it is. It's back here in my book
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: stack under my lamp.
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: There's my book, Zombies of the Upper East Side. It's
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: a horror comedy. It's super funny.
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: It is.
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: The reviews are great. It's really building a lot right now.
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: I'm doing a lot of appearances and a lot of
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: media stuff has come up. recently, which is exciting. I
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: love talking about it. It's a horror comedy, but it's
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: as funny as it is scary. If you are a
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: Bravo watcher, you're going to pick up on a lot
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: of Easter eggs because when I was researching the book,
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: I was focused on the Upper East Side and the
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: early seasons of Roni are definitely like Upper East Side related.
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: So there might be some characters that are similar to
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: people that you're familiar with on the show. Lots of
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: Easter eggs. So the book is doing great. So buy
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: the book. You can get it everywhere online. It's starting
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: to pop up into bookstores, but every bookstore has the
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: ability to order it and keep it in stock. So
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: just go to your local bookstore, say that you want it.
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: They'll order it. Leave reviews wherever you bought the book.
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: If you have a minute, leave a review on Goodreads
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: because that's really important.
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: I love Goodreads.
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: Yeah. So the book is doing great. It's building a lot.
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: I also just started my own podcast. It's called Slay Replay.
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: It's centered on a rewatch of Buffy the Vampire Slayer
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: from the beginning, but it's not just Buffy. It's like horror.
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: It's campy stuff. It's some reality TV as well, and
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: that's fun, and I'm figuring that out. I just did... Well,
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: I'm posting it today, but it's the... pilot presentation of Buffy,
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: which was never seen. So I'm posting an episode of that.
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: I also, so the Buffy reboot was canceled on ceremoniously
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: from Hulu, but I found the script. And so I'm
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: going to be reading the script and that'll be my
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: next episode too.
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: Oh my goodness.
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: So, yeah.
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: So lots of fun stuff. That's a sleigh replay available everywhere. You,
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: you know, get your podcast.
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: Okay. Amazing.
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: So sleigh replay and, um, Don't forget about the book,
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: Zombies Up.
