- 0:12Speaker 2: Man?
- 0:12Speaker 3: How you doing? What's going on? The boss Pena? How
- 0:13Speaker 3: you doing?
- 0:14Speaker 1: You know, Mike gol It good to see you have
- 0:17Speaker 1: a seat.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Oh, he called me, sir, I feel so old.
- 0:19Speaker 1: I know you're getting the you're getting the unk treatment
- 0:21Speaker 1: right now.
- 0:21Speaker 3: I think, am I? Am? I really an unk?
- 0:24Speaker 2: Am I that old?
- 0:25Speaker 1: I think I saw the other day? And Colson, listen,
- 0:28Speaker 1: you're the youngest person on this set now, so you
- 0:29Speaker 1: can correct me if I'm wrong. I saw. I think
- 0:31Speaker 1: it was Cooper Flagg say. Anyone born before nineteen ninety
- 0:35Speaker 1: five is officially in unk territories.
- 0:37Speaker 3: Where are you at them?
- 0:38Speaker 4: I'm not a I know, but yeah, how I feel
- 0:41Speaker 4: about it? Yeah, i'd say that's cool. I mean, yeah,
- 0:44Speaker 4: I don't know. I'm too young. I don't have it.
- 0:46Speaker 3: I don't have an opinion that all right, there we go.
- 0:48Speaker 1: He's his UNK credentials not there, but your credentials coming
- 0:51Speaker 1: into Bears camp. You're incredible again for Bears fans out there,
- 0:54Speaker 1: your tenth overall pick tight end, drafted in the top ten.
- 0:57Speaker 1: You just don't see it very often now feeling better.
- 0:59Speaker 1: When I saw you at the combine, you were recovering
- 1:01Speaker 1: from that ac joint injury. How's it feel to be
- 1:03Speaker 1: back out here and working and feeling full speed physically.
- 1:06Speaker 3: It's a blessing man, for sure.
- 1:08Speaker 4: You know, it's been a lot of work up to
- 1:09Speaker 4: this point, a lot of rehab, but I got a
- 1:11Speaker 4: great group around me, great people around me, great support
- 1:13Speaker 4: in this building to finally get out there and play,
- 1:16Speaker 4: and it's just exciting. It's a blessing. You know, we
- 1:18Speaker 4: pray for times like these, so to be out here
- 1:20Speaker 4: doing it, it's super cool.
- 1:21Speaker 2: What's been since you're your health and everything. You had
- 1:25Speaker 2: your first off your first NFL offseason. What's been the
- 1:28Speaker 2: hardest thing to adjust from NFL? Or excuse me, the
- 1:31Speaker 2: hardest thing to adjust from from college to NFL?
- 1:35Speaker 4: I'd say, you know, and I guess we'll talk about
- 1:38Speaker 4: the off season. And the off season you get a
- 1:39Speaker 4: lot more time than you do in college. Actually, you know,
- 1:41Speaker 4: you don't have school, so maybe you get two months
- 1:43Speaker 4: off or whatever it is. So it's just finding a
- 1:46Speaker 4: routine and not getting complacent, you know, not going on
- 1:49Speaker 4: a trip, not working out or something. So it's lucky
- 1:52Speaker 4: enough I was I was able to stay here rehabbing,
- 1:54Speaker 4: so I was just in the same routine, didn't skip
- 1:57Speaker 4: the beat.
- 1:58Speaker 3: But I think it's just you know, knowing how to
- 2:00Speaker 3: use your time, time management. Yeah, I'm working for your.
- 2:02Speaker 4: Body, learning the playbook, the whole you know, the whole deal.
- 2:06Speaker 4: Talking to your family that's important, you know, staying stay
- 2:08Speaker 4: in tune with all that. So I'd say that that
- 2:10Speaker 4: was a big transition for sure.
- 2:11Speaker 2: What about the speed of everything, the speed from college
- 2:13Speaker 2: to NFL.
- 2:14Speaker 3: How's that? Yeah, that's definitely different too.
- 2:16Speaker 4: You know, I think in the box especially d ns
- 2:20Speaker 4: are bigger, they're longer, they're stout on strong side, they're
- 2:24Speaker 4: moving a lot faster, you know DB's, they're sticky. Just
- 2:28Speaker 4: you know, it's the best obviously, So like, uh, yeah,
- 2:31Speaker 4: it's it's a change. It's a change up for sure.
- 2:33Speaker 4: But going against his defense especially, it's a blessing man
- 2:35Speaker 4: because we're I mean, it's getting us better for sure.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Absolutely. I like that. I like that.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Who's helping the most since you've gotten out here to camp.
- 2:42Speaker 1: You had a great tight end room. Cole Combat one
- 2:44Speaker 1: of your teammates in there as well, Ben Johnson certainly
- 2:46Speaker 1: well known for his work with tight ends in Detroit. Here,
- 2:50Speaker 1: who's giving you maybe the best advice since you've gotten
- 2:52Speaker 1: here to Bears Camp.
- 2:53Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean there's a lot of guys. I don't
- 2:54Speaker 4: want to skip over anyone, but you know, we got
- 2:56Speaker 4: a lot of pros in there, a lot of vets
- 2:58Speaker 4: that handle their business the right way and do the
- 2:59Speaker 4: thing the right way that I like.
- 3:00Speaker 3: To just observe and watch.
- 3:02Speaker 4: But yeah, like Cole Durham Smith, Joel like the tight
- 3:05Speaker 4: end room, just being around those guys, seeing how they move,
- 3:08Speaker 4: asking them questions, talking to them, Coach Dre all the
- 3:11Speaker 4: coach of staff with Coach Dre the tight ends coach
- 3:13Speaker 4: as well, just picking their brains and just hearing, you know,
- 3:16Speaker 4: their knowledge and being a sponge just kind of soaking
- 3:18Speaker 4: it all in. I think that's been beneficial for me
- 3:20Speaker 4: for sure. So I appreciate those guys.
- 3:22Speaker 1: No, well, I listen, You've gotten a lot of high
- 3:24Speaker 1: praise from a lot of people already, including another former
- 3:27Speaker 1: Michigan great tight end, Jake, but who works over at
- 3:29Speaker 1: the Big Ten Network. He said, as soon as you
- 3:31Speaker 1: saw you a practice, said you were different, and said
- 3:33Speaker 1: you were gonna be an eighty reception receiver for the
- 3:35Speaker 1: next decade of your career. What's it mean for you
- 3:37Speaker 1: to hear that from a guy that wore the same
- 3:39Speaker 1: colors you at that school and played the position at such.
- 3:41Speaker 3: A high level.
- 3:42Speaker 4: Yeah, that means a lot of shout out Jake Man,
- 3:43Speaker 4: that's my guy. But I appreciate him and I do
- 3:46Speaker 4: remember meeting him the first time, and he's always he's
- 3:48Speaker 4: been like, you know, like a older brother, kind of
- 3:50Speaker 4: just just from the dam met him, you know, giving
- 3:53Speaker 4: me pointers at practice, mid practice, you know we're doing
- 3:56Speaker 4: a special team speriit in Michigan. He's kind of just
- 3:57Speaker 4: talking to me about this last player or whatever. So
- 4:00Speaker 4: I appreciate him, and you know, he obviously would do it,
- 4:02Speaker 4: did it before me. So being able to you know,
- 4:04Speaker 4: learn from him and just yeah, it means a lot
- 4:07Speaker 4: for sure.
- 4:07Speaker 1: No, Well, it's well deserved praise here and again, what
- 4:11Speaker 1: you've done so far landed you as a top ten
- 4:13Speaker 1: pick in the NFL draft and certainly has your line
- 4:15Speaker 1: for a big season here in Chicago. Colston, we appreciate
- 4:18Speaker 1: all the time. Man, Go rest up, go enjoy a
- 4:20Speaker 1: nice shower. I'm sure it was a hot day out
- 4:22Speaker 1: there hitting for you guys. We appreciate the time man.
- 4:23Speaker 3: Thank you guys for having me us man. I appreciate it.
