Today let's go somewhere you might actually use Telugu a lot — a restaurant, for ordering drinks. Luna: Oh, I love that. I can already imagine myself in a cozy Telugu cafe. Lucas: First, the most basic thing: water. In Telugu, water is 'నీళ్ళు'. Luna: నీళ్ళు. Lucas: Good. If you want water, say 'నాకు నీళ్ళు కావాలి'. Luna: నాకు నీళ్ళు కావాలి. Lucas: Perfect. That means 'I want water'. 'నాకు' means 'to me' or 'I want', and 'కావాలి' means 'want'. Luna: So 'నాకు నీళ్ళు కావాలి' — I want water. Got it. Lucas: Now let's do tea. Tea is 'టీ'. Say 'నాకు టీ కావాలి'. Luna: నాకు టీ కావాలి. Lucas: And coffee is 'కాఫీ'. 'నాకు కాఫీ కావాలి'. Luna: నాకు కాఫీ కావాలి. Lucas: You're a natural. Now let's add politeness. 'Please' in Telugu is 'దయచేసి'. Luna: దయచేసి. Lucas: You can put it at the beginning or end. 'దయచేసి, నాకు కాఫీ కావాలి'. Luna: దయచేసి, నాకు కాఫీ కావాలి. Lucas: Lovely. And after you get it, say 'ధన్యవాదాలు' — thank you. Luna: ధన్యవాదాలు. Lucas: Let's put it together. Imagine you're at a restaurant. What would you say? Luna: Um... దయచేసి, నాకు నీళ్ళు కావాలి. ధన్యవాదాలు? Lucas: That's it! You just ordered water politely. Luna: Wow, that feels so real. Lucas: Okay, let's practice a short dialogue. I'll be the waiter. You say: 'దయచేసి, నాకు టీ కావాలి.' Luna: దయచేసి, నాకు టీ కావాలి.
