- 0:00Speaker 1: I can't believe you told Lenning a car they could
- 0:02Speaker 1: bring dates because they're not even coming to the wedding.
- 0:05Speaker 1: Why not because there are s v P cards arrived
- 0:08Speaker 1: one day after the deadline March.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Maybe you should take a break from wedding planning. I
- 0:14Speaker 2: think you're becoming a.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Bridezilla, Bridezilla, a combination of bride and Godzilla. Could you
- 0:23Speaker 1: say that were like you're a king wrong?
- 0:27Speaker 3: Four Finger Discount, dude.
- 0:44Speaker 4: Welcome to four Finger Discount, where this week we're getting married.
- 0:47Speaker 4: It's gonna be a bit of a disaster, though it
- 0:49Speaker 4: is wedding for Disaster. I'm Dando and I'm guy very
- 0:52Speaker 4: surprised by this episode, have you yeah? You hate to say, no,
- 0:57Speaker 4: I I hate to say because like this, I can
- 1:00Speaker 4: hate those I mean, let's be honest. This episode. We're
- 1:05Speaker 4: in the middle of season twenty right, well two thirds
- 1:08Speaker 4: of the way through season twenty are and I saw
- 1:10Speaker 4: wedding for Disaster. I saw the tagline was like margin
- 1:13Speaker 4: Homer get married again. But then Homer baales the tagline.
- 1:16Speaker 4: I went, oh, boy, is it gonna be fun another
- 1:20Speaker 4: one of these ones? Eye Homer, You're done fucked up?
- 1:25Speaker 4: But yeah, yes, and to our surprise, not necessarily the
- 1:30Speaker 4: case wedding for disaster feels like the writers room went,
- 1:34Speaker 4: all right, we're in the middle of season twenty. People
- 1:37Speaker 4: are hating on the show because they think that we've
- 1:39Speaker 4: created joke ass Homer. Right, joke Arshmer has gone full
- 1:43Speaker 4: joke ass and he still has existed in season twenty.
- 1:46Speaker 4: This feels somewhat like them trying to retcon the character
- 1:48Speaker 4: and go, we messed up, Yes, we promise, we'll try
- 1:52Speaker 4: and do good going forward. I can't recall many episodes
- 1:55Speaker 4: between now and I've only really watched the last maybe
- 1:58Speaker 4: two or three seasons of The Simpsons newer Ones rights
- 2:01Speaker 4: maybe four or five, and joke Assoman doesn't really exist anymore.
- 2:05Speaker 4: And I went, when did they get rid of joke
- 2:06Speaker 4: ass Homer? I wonder if this is it? I hope
- 2:08Speaker 4: this is it. I hope this is when they've gone.
- 2:10Speaker 5: This is the returning point, hopefully.
- 2:12Speaker 4: Because how can you have this episode and then go
- 2:14Speaker 4: back to joke ass Homer. How can you have him
- 2:16Speaker 4: read those wedding vows? Because I'm watching this going they
- 2:20Speaker 4: even use Paddy and some of the two characters on
- 2:22Speaker 4: the show who hate Homer more than any other character
- 2:24Speaker 4: on the show. He won them over. If he can
- 2:27Speaker 4: win them over, then he should be able to win
- 2:29Speaker 4: us over. That's I think that they use them effectively
- 2:32Speaker 4: as the tools to go see even Paddy and someone
- 2:35Speaker 4: like him again. So if they like him, then you
- 2:37Speaker 4: should like him again. Hopefully they keep going forward and
- 2:40Speaker 4: he stays this version of home because this was.
- 2:42Speaker 5: Lovely, Absolutely it was.
- 2:44Speaker 6: Now.
- 2:44Speaker 5: Look, we're not saying that Homer shouldn't be insensitive or
- 2:47Speaker 5: thoughtless or a buffoon for the sake of comedy.
- 2:50Speaker 4: Yes, it's like for comedies, and as long as there
- 2:53Speaker 4: are ripercussions for his actions, he's held a cannibal for them,
- 2:56Speaker 4: because that's the annoying thing for joke. As Homer, it's
- 2:58Speaker 4: felt in the teen years was he's a jerk and
- 3:00Speaker 4: Home it just goes.
- 3:01Speaker 5: Oh, that's our hom Yes, shouldn't. Shouldn't happen. And we've
- 3:07Speaker 5: been increasingly frustrated watching episodes, frustrated watching the behavior getting
- 3:13Speaker 5: worse and worse, there being no blowback for us and
- 3:16Speaker 5: it just being sort of standard operating procedure. We don't
- 3:19Speaker 5: like it. We get a feeling that a lot of
- 3:21Speaker 5: the viewers that the Simpsons didn't like it either, and
- 3:23Speaker 5: I want it appears maybe some of the creative people thought,
- 3:26Speaker 5: as well, look, this isn't working out too well, or
- 3:29Speaker 5: this is straying too far from what we initially had
- 3:32Speaker 5: in mind for the Simpsons.
- 3:34Speaker 4: I wonder if by this point, so under this air,
- 3:36Speaker 4: the original air of this one was in two thousand
- 3:38Speaker 4: and Stanley Guy was still a thing I set up
- 3:39Speaker 4: because I remember they sort of turned Homer, they changed
- 3:43Speaker 4: him to sort of become more of like a Peter
- 3:45Speaker 4: Griffin character. Right, So the Family Guy really took off
- 3:48Speaker 4: and started ninety nine to two thousand, but it took
- 3:50Speaker 4: off about two thousand and four. Maybe the fad of
- 3:53Speaker 4: Family Guy was dying down a little bit and they went, oh,
- 3:55Speaker 4: we can maybe sort of diet tone that down a
- 3:58Speaker 4: bit now.
- 3:58Speaker 5: Yeah, quite possible. It felt like they're deliberately.
- 4:00Speaker 4: Trying to reckon the character, in my opinion, in this episode.
- 4:03Speaker 5: It feels that way, it doesn't it. Yeah, I mean
- 4:04Speaker 5: you're sort of getting back to Homer being kind of
- 4:09Speaker 5: dumb but good hearted, essentially a bit selfish, but not
- 4:14Speaker 5: bad underneath at all. And this is what came through
- 4:16Speaker 5: in this episode more than more than anything, and certainly
- 4:19Speaker 5: more in previous episodes where he's just acted out or
- 4:22Speaker 5: acted up or behaved badly.
- 4:24Speaker 4: And Marge comes across quite negative in this episode, but
- 4:26Speaker 4: it's only because she's going full bride zilla mode. And
- 4:28Speaker 4: I actually thought it was nice to see Marge finally
- 4:30Speaker 4: get her bride' zilla moment because she she's gone through
- 4:33Speaker 4: a lot, Marge, and she's sacrificed a lot, and she's compromised.
- 4:37Speaker 4: Now she's finally getting the wedding that she deserved, that
- 4:39Speaker 4: she want, that she wanted and to deserve, but she's
- 4:42Speaker 4: to go one full Bridezilla and oh yeah. They use
- 4:45Speaker 4: that though, as a way to also make you feel
- 4:47Speaker 4: sympathy for Homer again, because he's going, can I have
- 4:49Speaker 4: a rocket cake? She's going no, no, no, no, you
- 4:51Speaker 4: can choose the icing. Okay, I want chocolate. Nobo're getting Lenanon.
- 4:53Speaker 4: You know, I think it's one of my trivia questions.
- 4:55Speaker 4: But it's just a case of I just thought Homer
- 4:58Speaker 4: throughout this episode was really relatable.
- 5:01Speaker 5: Well yeah, I mean, if you've been in a relationship
- 5:05Speaker 5: quite some time, or you've been married or whatever, we're
- 5:08Speaker 5: staring into some cliches and some stereotypes, but I think
- 5:14Speaker 5: there are certain occasions like that when you when the
- 5:17Speaker 5: male half of the of the relationship in a heterosexual
- 5:19Speaker 5: relationship will go along to get along. We're like, I
- 5:23Speaker 5: think the feeling this is more important to you than
- 5:25Speaker 5: it is to me. It's more you know, you're going
- 5:26Speaker 5: to be the focus of attention on this time. Let's
- 5:29Speaker 5: let it go right for you.
- 5:30Speaker 4: That was very much me on the weddingdow. I went,
- 5:32Speaker 4: I don't care, just do it.
- 5:35Speaker 5: I don't care. I love you. Thought that was good anyway. Yeah,
- 5:41Speaker 5: it looks it's wholly justifiable for Marge to want things
- 5:46Speaker 5: her way as she does. She's never had this opportunity before,
- 5:50Speaker 5: That's correct. Yeah, I mean, look, I must have been.
- 5:52Speaker 5: I was doing a little of my own, not red conning.
- 5:54Speaker 5: But you know how we like to tinker with episodes.
- 5:57Speaker 4: We say fix, fix, and sometimes we do it.
- 6:01Speaker 5: I was thinking, oh, not that this was a heel
- 6:04Speaker 5: turn from Marge or anything like that, or wholly unexpected
- 6:08Speaker 5: or anything like that, but I was saying, oh, it
- 6:10Speaker 5: would have been for me at least it would have
- 6:13Speaker 5: been interesting, or would again an episode a little more
- 6:15Speaker 5: flow if she's sort of fallen prey to like as
- 6:18Speaker 5: I have watching reality TV and watching Bridezilla or something
- 6:22Speaker 5: like that and just getting infected that way, as opposed
- 6:24Speaker 5: to just it being something that she's been holding in
- 6:27Speaker 5: deep inside. Although that works as well.
- 6:29Speaker 4: That's actually a good point. I feel like five years
- 6:31Speaker 4: ago there, because there was an era of the show
- 6:33Speaker 4: of the Simpsons where it felt like they were constantly
- 6:35Speaker 4: parroting reality shows. It was always like that, Oh yeah,
- 6:38Speaker 4: they were frustrated. This show is so popular now and
- 6:41Speaker 4: our show is not as popular as it once was.
- 6:42Speaker 4: Though now frustrated, they're getting their angry out through the
- 6:44Speaker 4: rining of the show. We haven't seen a good, not
- 6:46Speaker 4: a good, but we haven't seen a parody of a
- 6:48Speaker 4: reality show for a while. This was season sixteen. I
- 6:51Speaker 4: think that's exactly what the story would have been. She
- 6:53Speaker 4: watched bride Zilla as the TV show and she got
- 6:55Speaker 4: swayed by them.
- 6:56Speaker 5: Yeah, and but no, she's been She's justified in wanting
- 7:00Speaker 5: wanting her day, her way, as they say, so, we
- 7:03Speaker 5: are the hard way. That is a banger, if you
- 7:08Speaker 5: say so. If you're a wrestling fan, you definitely think
- 7:11Speaker 5: it's a banger because it was using the best highlight
- 7:13Speaker 5: reel of all time to promote the Steve Boston versus
- 7:16Speaker 5: Rock match at Wrestling in seventeen, considered the best highlight
- 7:19Speaker 5: package of all time in wrestling history.
- 7:21Speaker 4: I understood maybe like six of those words we spoke
- 7:26Speaker 4: about Hill. That's when the greatest baby phase of all time.
- 7:29Speaker 4: Stone called Steve Boston turned heel, and everyone went, we
- 7:31Speaker 4: want to boo this guy, and wrestling was never the same.
- 7:34Speaker 5: I can never imagine Stone called Steve Buston as a babyface.
- 7:38Speaker 4: He was the anti establishment, so everyone loved him because
- 7:41Speaker 4: he was a what do you call those, an anti
- 7:43Speaker 4: heel kind of thing, anti hero, anti heroes, anti anti
- 7:46Speaker 4: hero where basically he was the guy beating up his
- 7:48Speaker 4: boss every week and everyone lived vi carously. And then
- 7:50Speaker 4: after that match he shook the boss's hand and signed
- 7:54Speaker 4: a deal of the devil and everyone was like, ah, oh,
- 7:56Speaker 4: we thought so the one reason we watched this show
- 7:59Speaker 4: is now not here any.
- 8:02Speaker 5: We thought you were to take this We thought you
- 8:04Speaker 5: were to take this job and shove it guy Stone Cold.
- 8:08Speaker 4: Yes, I will say this episode here feels like a
- 8:13Speaker 4: treeouse of horror gone begging. I'm a big fan of
- 8:16Speaker 4: Saw franchise or the original Saw film that Saw franchise,
- 8:19Speaker 4: the original Saw film. I remember seeing two maybe three
- 8:21Speaker 4: at the movies, But I liked the original Saw because
- 8:23Speaker 4: I just have that nostalgia for being shocked. Not many
- 8:26Speaker 4: movies shocked me with a twist, and that one really
- 8:28Speaker 4: shocked me. I remember going, WHOA, that's that's real, that's happening.
- 8:32Speaker 4: This one here feels like it could have been a
- 8:33Speaker 4: treouse of horror segment. It's almost like they created a
- 8:36Speaker 4: tree house of horror segment and went, ah, we can't.
- 8:38Speaker 5: We haven't got space to use on this week. This
- 8:40Speaker 5: year is special. Let's build an episode around it.
- 8:42Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 8:42Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm trying to remember when Saw came. Okay, so
- 8:47Speaker 5: lobbies a little bit late to the party, although yeah,
- 8:50Speaker 5: we're probably deep in the Saw franchise, as you say, Yeah,
- 8:53Speaker 5: I mean they were turning them out like once a
- 8:55Speaker 5: year or so.
- 8:56Speaker 4: Yeah, two thousand and four was the first one. Yeah,
- 9:00Speaker 4: Lee were Now that's right on the movie Guarde. That's great.
- 9:03Speaker 5: And the mythology of the Saw legend just got increasingly
- 9:08Speaker 5: convoluted and strange. But yeah, people were turning out for
- 9:11Speaker 5: those Saw movies.
- 9:12Speaker 4: Man, wow, we so Saw one two thousand and four,
- 9:14Speaker 4: Saw two, two thousand and five, SAW three, two thousand
- 9:16Speaker 4: and six, Saw four, two thousand and seven, Saw five
- 9:19Speaker 4: and eight, two nine, twenty ten, So six years straight,
- 9:22Speaker 4: seven years straight there was new Saw films. That's pretty
- 9:24Speaker 4: much they what they did with the Friday of the Turnings movies,
- 9:26Speaker 4: you know, back in the eight usually the ones. Yeah, yeah,
- 9:28Speaker 4: they were just like they were trying to get them
- 9:30Speaker 4: out at least once a year, or Nightmare and Night
- 9:33Speaker 4: Realms as well.
- 9:34Speaker 5: And that's cool.
- 9:35Speaker 4: Oh I wish we did more of that now, like, oh, yes,
- 9:38Speaker 4: I New Friday third, like I think of a modern
- 9:40Speaker 4: day film. Yes, it's a new Sinners, you know, yeah.
- 9:43Speaker 5: That's true. I mean I think Blomhouse was trying to
- 9:45Speaker 5: do that with the New Meghan, you know, the Killer Doll,
- 9:52Speaker 5: the dancers, you know, I think they brought the second
- 9:55Speaker 5: one of those out, but yeah, I get the feeling
- 9:57Speaker 5: year Blomhouse wanted to do that kind of thing where
- 9:58Speaker 5: it's conjuring.
- 9:59Speaker 4: Give mean that one.
- 10:00Speaker 5: No, no, no, no Megan, Okay, no, there's Annibal. There's Annibal
- 10:04Speaker 5: the Haunted Doll, Annabelle the Haunted Doll. But then there's
- 10:08Speaker 5: also Megan, which is kind of like the oh yes,
- 10:12Speaker 5: like a robot. Yeah, I know what you mean now
- 10:15Speaker 5: with the three that's right. No, But I love the
- 10:20Speaker 5: idea of just some enterprising hustler producers, like it's the
- 10:24Speaker 5: same ship every time different. Yeah, yeah, I love that.
- 10:30Speaker 4: But I feel like this could have been a really
- 10:32Speaker 4: good Saw parody, like they had all the elements there
- 10:35Speaker 4: for they.
- 10:35Speaker 5: Well, they did a good Saw parody. Yeah, you're right
- 10:38Speaker 5: in terms of like, oh, it would have been interesting
- 10:39Speaker 5: treehouse thing. But I think they folded it really well
- 10:41Speaker 5: into this. I must admit when I initially when they
- 10:45Speaker 5: had the scene with like Homer wakes up in the
- 10:47Speaker 5: room and he's like he's chaining, like, oh, you don't sore,
- 10:50Speaker 5: it was a little late all that kind of stuff.
- 10:53Speaker 5: The way they played it out I thought was actually
- 10:55Speaker 5: pretty good in terms of like who had imprisoned him,
- 10:58Speaker 5: the stuff that he had to go through, and the
- 10:59Speaker 5: stuff he was willing to go through.
- 11:01Speaker 4: They flipped the script on, you know, saw Jigsaw actually
- 11:05Speaker 4: falling for the victim.
- 11:07Speaker 5: That's right. Yeah, yeah, So I thought Homer recquitted himself
- 11:10Speaker 5: like a boss in that torture rooma that he did
- 11:14Speaker 5: very very well stay true to himself and to march.
- 11:16Speaker 4: What were your thoughts when you read those vows. I'm
- 11:18Speaker 4: reading this going this feels nothing like the Homer we've
- 11:20Speaker 4: experienced for the last decade. But I'm glad this is
- 11:24Speaker 4: happening now and hopefully it could just persists going forward.
- 11:27Speaker 5: I think, yeah, I think we expect certain things from home,
- 11:30Speaker 5: or I think we expect him to be a bit
- 11:32Speaker 5: of a goof yeah, say inappropriate things, doing inappropriate stuff.
- 11:36Speaker 5: But at the heart of it, as I was saying before,
- 11:38Speaker 5: he's good heart.
- 11:39Speaker 4: He loves his kids, loves his family, even if they
- 11:42Speaker 4: drive him to distraction. I know he said, God, I
- 11:46Speaker 4: miss her sister's right, that was like the kicker for them.
- 11:49Speaker 4: But I was just really glad that he said I
- 11:51Speaker 4: miss you much and I missed my kids, And I
- 11:53Speaker 4: was like, I'm glad they acknowledged the kids as well.
- 11:55Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, Well he's the original family guy. And that's right,
- 12:05Speaker 5: he said in a Trey Parker boys. I don't know
- 12:07Speaker 5: why I did that, just combining all the very show, Yeah,
- 12:12Speaker 5: bringing everything together. Speaking of unified theory of four finger discount,
- 12:16Speaker 5: this is something I wanted to bring up just quickly
- 12:17Speaker 5: because at the start, it's the inciting incident that the
- 12:20Speaker 5: Parson comes to town. It's like, well, you know, it's
- 12:24Speaker 5: interesting that we're that this episode is coming at the time.
- 12:26Speaker 5: The parson is the parson, of course, but they're treating
- 12:28Speaker 5: it kind of like, oh, it's the Pope coming to
- 12:30Speaker 5: town and we got a new pope.
- 12:31Speaker 4: I was watching this going the Unified theory because we've
- 12:35Speaker 4: got Catholics the.
- 12:37Speaker 8: World over and like, yeah, we got a new pope.
- 12:39Speaker 5: We got Papa Leo. Yeah, from Chicago, all the all
- 12:43Speaker 5: the world leads are meeting him. It's funny. I was
- 12:45Speaker 5: watching the news with the Lovely Loise last night. Elbow
- 12:49Speaker 5: Anthony Albanezi, the Australian Prime Minister, has gone to the
- 12:51Speaker 5: Vatican to meet with Pope Leo. They had a shot
- 12:54Speaker 5: of Elbow sitting in some audience in the Vatican had
- 12:58Speaker 5: like a really slick pair of sungline and I was like, oh,
- 13:01Speaker 5: check out Elbow. Lose Like, don't tell me a crushing
- 13:04Speaker 5: on Elbow and his ray beards.
- 13:05Speaker 4: I said a little bit, you love you expensive glasses,
- 13:08Speaker 4: though I do.
- 13:09Speaker 5: That is true. I was like, there's a man who
- 13:12Speaker 5: knows quality I wear. Yeah, that's my Prime minister. But yeah,
- 13:16Speaker 5: I just looked at it.
- 13:17Speaker 4: Like you ridiculous, one of the odds of the new pope,
- 13:19Speaker 4: and then the pope comes to town. Here on the Simpsons,
- 13:22Speaker 4: the opening act was kind of just there. For me,
- 13:25Speaker 4: it was it felt kind of long winded to get
- 13:27Speaker 4: to the point it did.
- 13:28Speaker 5: And yeah, the one of my last notes about that,
- 13:32Speaker 5: you wouldn't even call it a first act. You'd call
- 13:34Speaker 5: it like the the first act.
- 13:37Speaker 4: I guess the first act was finally him telling Homer
- 13:40Speaker 4: and margin they went married. It went for five minutes
- 13:42Speaker 4: or so it was. It was two minutes before the
- 13:44Speaker 4: episode started. We had the full intro, then an extended
- 13:47Speaker 4: couch gag. True, whenever they get the full intro and
- 13:51Speaker 4: a long couch gag, I always go, oh, yeah, that
- 13:54Speaker 4: can be a good one.
- 13:56Speaker 5: But every by the end the parson gag with the
- 14:00Speaker 5: whole oh looks like you've got a yeah.
- 14:04Speaker 4: The songs were funny, were kind of funny, and that
- 14:06Speaker 4: was Cosby, right cross Crosby so not Cosby.
- 14:09Speaker 5: Oh shit, now we're talking about mid twentieth century kroner Bing.
- 14:16Speaker 5: Crossby looked like the biggest star in the world for
- 14:19Speaker 5: a certain period. Okay, by the end that gag was
- 14:23Speaker 5: I was like, oh, you've you've got every last bit
- 14:25Speaker 5: of juice out of this, and now you're like you're
- 14:28Speaker 5: squeezing an orange Rider's like, give me a little bit more.
- 14:31Speaker 4: Who was the Parsons Simpsons. Who was the voice of that?
- 14:35Speaker 4: It sounds to me like it's a Dan one, right,
- 14:38Speaker 4: a Parson. Hag is Aria was a voice. Yeah, it
- 14:41Speaker 4: just seems to me like it seems like Harry Sheira
- 14:43Speaker 4: For a second, it just seems like Hank did the
- 14:45Speaker 4: voice one time. Just thinking at Crosby impersonation, I'm like,
- 14:49Speaker 4: let's work this into something because you said they really
- 14:52Speaker 4: milked it, didn't.
- 14:52Speaker 5: Yeah, oh yeah, I must admit when they when he
- 14:56Speaker 5: first arrived and he sort of looks a bit like
- 14:58Speaker 5: being Crosby. Then he starts just closing a thing, a
- 15:01Speaker 5: little bit of a song. It's like, oh, they're doing
- 15:04Speaker 5: that's unexpected in like two thousand and nine, given that,
- 15:07Speaker 5: you know, you ask the average person on the street, Hey,
- 15:10Speaker 5: how about they've been Grosby? Like, first of all, get
- 15:12Speaker 5: away from me again. Though.
- 15:13Speaker 4: It's one of those gags where as a kid, you
- 15:14Speaker 4: have no idea what it is, but you're like it's
- 15:16Speaker 4: something and you have.
- 15:16Speaker 5: To and you do your research and you learn a
- 15:19Speaker 5: little bit more.
- 15:19Speaker 4: I'm just looking up that the Parson actually appears in
- 15:24Speaker 4: many episodes going forward. He becomes a character he's just
- 15:26Speaker 4: called the Parson, Okay, Yeah, a charismatic lower management leader
- 15:30Speaker 4: of the Pressbury Lutheran Faith practice in Springfield.
- 15:33Speaker 5: Well, it's kind of an interesting dynamic because you tend
- 15:36Speaker 5: to think of Reverend love Joy as not holier than now,
- 15:39Speaker 5: but yeah, persisting himself as kind of a moral authority
- 15:42Speaker 5: and as an extension of that not a boss of
- 15:44Speaker 5: the town is kind of like, well, all things have
- 15:46Speaker 5: got to go through Reverend love Joy, and to him
- 15:48Speaker 5: have him being intimidated by someone who upper management but
- 15:54Speaker 5: was supposedly like his peer. Yeah.
- 15:56Speaker 4: What they say is like it was your roommate or something,
- 15:58Speaker 4: and they don't play it on they they mentioned it.
- 16:00Speaker 4: I thought, why would you mention it and not play
- 16:02Speaker 4: it for a story?
- 16:03Speaker 5: I thought, I guess they might. They must do that
- 16:05Speaker 5: later on. But yeah, him be Hey, I'm kind of
- 16:08Speaker 5: a big fish in Springfield, but he comes to the
- 16:10Speaker 5: bigger fish. Everybody loves him and he's kind of he's
- 16:13Speaker 5: got my number. Yeah. I like that. It's I think
- 16:16Speaker 5: I find it. I found that kind of fun. Do
- 16:18Speaker 5: you think the parson was arrogant. I think he was
- 16:21Speaker 5: very sure of himself. Oh yeah, he.
- 16:22Speaker 4: Knew what he what he was. He knows what he
- 16:25Speaker 4: brings to the table. He seems nice.
- 16:28Speaker 5: Though, seems nice, but also yeah, like, what's that saying?
- 16:32Speaker 5: What was a bee? Humble? But let motherfuckers know that's him.
- 16:35Speaker 4: I'm pretty sure that's how let him Alton describe George Lucas, Right.
- 16:37Speaker 5: That's right, please please just come down. I'm just a person,
- 16:46Speaker 5: just like it. But I also creative star war. I
- 16:51Speaker 5: didn't forget you.
- 16:52Speaker 4: I thought the Parson was going to go a bit
- 16:54Speaker 4: of a hill turn here. When he's like, I'm just
- 16:56Speaker 4: here to let you know they are you credit card decline?
- 16:58Speaker 4: I thought, oh, reverend fucked no. But he's just he's
- 17:02Speaker 4: slipping the ship and every once a whayle just reminding
- 17:04Speaker 4: him that you're down here, I'm up there kinda say
- 17:07Speaker 4: a couple of bad not bad taste jokes, but maybe
- 17:09Speaker 4: bad taste jokes in this I mean they were of
- 17:12Speaker 4: the time, of course, halla jokes. Well yeah, I'm you're
- 17:15Speaker 4: when she was Harold and wait what.
- 17:17Speaker 5: Well I'm watching this going what is the point.
- 17:19Speaker 4: Of saying that actually there is there is real No,
- 17:22Speaker 4: there is no point. There is absolutely no point because
- 17:24Speaker 4: it doesn't make sense. She's had a daughter. She said, Jessica, Yeah,
- 17:27Speaker 4: what are we doing? Why would you make a trans
- 17:30Speaker 4: gag like that makes no sense?
- 17:31Speaker 5: When she was haled, Yeah, why are you playing sort
- 17:33Speaker 5: of mind games with the with Reverend Lovejoy like that?
- 17:36Speaker 5: I don't know. So it struck me as kind of
- 17:38Speaker 5: like it just left a bit of a sour taste
- 17:40Speaker 5: in my mouth. Sorry, I don't want to pet woke
- 17:42Speaker 5: or anything like that, but I mean, and yeah, I
- 17:45Speaker 5: wasn't even approaching at the point of view like that's
- 17:46Speaker 5: in bad taste, guys. It's more like, what's the point?
- 17:49Speaker 5: What's the point? Yeah? Yeah, It's like later on when sorry,
- 17:54Speaker 5: I've done that thing where you know you write the thing,
- 17:56Speaker 5: but you haven't when we do trivia questions, like I
- 17:59Speaker 5: know the answer, but I another question.
- 18:00Speaker 4: What have you written?
- 18:01Speaker 5: I've written?
- 18:02Speaker 8: Oh?
- 18:02Speaker 5: How did you check?
- 18:03Speaker 4: So he said, isn't this a bit gay? Because last
- 18:06Speaker 4: time time I checked, pirates weren't gay.
- 18:08Speaker 5: That's right. How did you check?
- 18:09Speaker 8: That?
- 18:09Speaker 4: Was such a random thing? I went again, what this
- 18:12Speaker 4: that there had no impact on the episode that was
- 18:15Speaker 4: not needed went for about five seconds.
- 18:17Speaker 5: Why did you include it? We were talking about how
- 18:19Speaker 5: you know this episode felt like a bit of a
- 18:21Speaker 5: steer away from the SETH MacFarlane family guy school of comedy.
- 18:26Speaker 5: And again I don't want to be like, come on, guys,
- 18:29Speaker 5: you know, oh that's age badly or something like that.
- 18:31Speaker 5: But yeah, again, it's like, it wasn't funny. Yeah, not
- 18:34Speaker 5: necessarily that funny. If they're funny, then not more for it.
- 18:36Speaker 4: But it wasn't funny.
- 18:38Speaker 5: I think the feeling that would be kind of funny
- 18:39Speaker 5: coming out of someone else's mouth or another characters now
- 18:42Speaker 5: on another show.
- 18:43Speaker 4: No, I just don't think it didn't go for long enough.
- 18:45Speaker 4: There was, but it was just random. Here's the thing,
- 18:48Speaker 4: isn't this a big gay?
- 18:50Speaker 5: Well that yeah, that But as listeners of Bob's Pod
- 18:53Speaker 5: and other Full Finger Discount shows will know, big big
- 18:57Speaker 5: fan of h. John Benjamin, his voice, acting and his delivery.
- 19:01Speaker 5: I get the feeling. I can hear that in Bob
- 19:03Speaker 5: Belcher's voice. How'd your check? It's like I can hear
- 19:07Speaker 5: it working in that rebout.
- 19:08Speaker 4: If you have the sea captain for whatever reason, So
- 19:11Speaker 4: to set up the situation is the Sea Captain is
- 19:13Speaker 4: the one saying last night Jack Pirates weren't gay whatever
- 19:16Speaker 4: and had your check and it was cutting him, going yeah,
- 19:19Speaker 4: maybe something like that could be because they've implied that
- 19:22Speaker 4: the Sea Captain's gay many times. That's past, but this
- 19:25Speaker 4: has felt But let's not focus on their Okay, yeah,
- 19:27Speaker 4: look's focused on some favorite moments, shall we.

- 20:35Speaker 4: favorite moments, what do we got? Well?
- 20:38Speaker 5: Speaking of like Homer stuff being silly or slow on
- 20:42Speaker 5: the uptake or something. I thought this exemplified it really well,
- 20:46Speaker 5: where Reverend loved was going around and he sort of saying, okay,
- 20:49Speaker 5: I wasn't registered, so this is invalid. This is not valid.
- 20:52Speaker 5: Whatever knocks on the Simpsons, Reverend love Joe, you delivered
- 20:56Speaker 5: pizzas now a pizza? Yeah? No, that's a really good
- 20:59Speaker 5: sort of non secure. It's like, yeah, why would else,
- 21:02Speaker 5: why would someone become to do it? They've probably got
- 21:03Speaker 5: to be delivering pizza. Why is it Reverend Lovejoy delivering pizza? Yeah?
- 21:06Speaker 5: Like then the whole thing, Marge, we order pizza and
- 21:08Speaker 5: the pizza is not even here. I thought that was
- 21:11Speaker 5: I thought that was pretty funny. I like the other
- 21:13Speaker 5: Homer line that I liked was when he discovers he's
- 21:15Speaker 5: in the saw room and he's like, I'm chained up
- 21:17Speaker 5: like a common bicycle. That I missed that line. Yeah,
- 21:23Speaker 5: and also I thought this was very sweet. Yeah, we
- 21:26Speaker 5: talked about how Homer came through with being a devoted
- 21:32Speaker 5: husband to March. When he discovers that the lollipop is
- 21:35Speaker 5: like has got the key in it or whatever, He's like, Oh,
- 21:38Speaker 5: this is easy. Look at Oh it's hot sauce. He
- 21:40Speaker 5: just keeps going through with it. He's just gonna, he's gonna.
- 21:43Speaker 5: He wants to get back to March. He could have
- 21:45Speaker 5: he could have smashed that lollipop. I'm thinking the same thing.
- 21:50Speaker 5: He could have done that, but yeah, he just keeps
- 21:52Speaker 5: lick at it like a g good good man.
- 21:54Speaker 4: What are your thoughts on hot sauce. I'm a bit
- 21:56Speaker 4: of a I'm a I'm a weakling when it comes
- 21:59Speaker 4: to hot spicy stuff.
- 22:01Speaker 5: Can't do it. I like them. I get the feeling
- 22:04Speaker 5: that in the year twenty twenty five, or just in
- 22:06Speaker 5: the twenty twenties, being a hot source guy is kind
- 22:08Speaker 5: of cliche. It's like being a Fedora guy. You know,
- 22:12Speaker 5: if you haven't traded anything too, you've trade Carolina reap
- 22:14Speaker 5: it or you know the guy with a well kept
- 22:17Speaker 5: bed drinking a pale ale. Yeah, yeah, it's like and
- 22:21Speaker 5: oh my nacho's were good, but he pulls out his
- 22:24Speaker 5: own personal one that he made. Yeah, you know you
- 22:28Speaker 5: used to be able to get those little bottles of
- 22:29Speaker 5: sarachi that keys like that kind of person having said that,
- 22:33Speaker 5: that's me, No, but I do like a hot sauce.
- 22:36Speaker 5: There's an Austrain brand called Bunsters. They're really going for
- 22:41Speaker 5: that whole thing. It's like, oh, it's so hard to
- 22:42Speaker 5: drive you and saying like, you know, have little things
- 22:45Speaker 5: on it, like there's a sixteen out of ten on
- 22:47Speaker 5: the hot scale, may cause anal leakage and all that
- 22:49Speaker 5: kind of stuff.
- 22:50Speaker 4: Really, yeah, anal leakage, it says that, Yeah, anal leakage
- 22:54Speaker 4: is a horrific term. That is true a leaky and
- 22:57Speaker 4: one's called shit the bed and all that kind of
- 22:59Speaker 4: suff It's very much like, are you tough enough to
- 23:00Speaker 4: have this old spores? And of course I was challenge accepted,
- 23:05Speaker 4: you won't. I can never go too wild with it.
- 23:07Speaker 4: But if I'm making guacamalle, I will put a few.
- 23:11Speaker 4: I feel like I'm making milk of the Monster, two
- 23:14Speaker 4: drops of sinister. Yeah, and that's what I put it,
- 23:16Speaker 4: put into the guacamole. And no I listening has any
- 23:19Speaker 4: idea what you're talking about Milton the Monster. I said,
- 23:23Speaker 4: I have a mother who grew up in the sixth
- 23:25Speaker 4: seventies of his show, so I know exactly what you're
- 23:26Speaker 4: talking about.
- 23:27Speaker 5: Yeah. I allude to this the other day. It's terrible
- 23:31Speaker 5: when me going to Ali, Hey, Ali, you know Humphrey
- 23:34Speaker 5: be Bears, Like, what when your pop culture references start
- 23:39Speaker 5: dying on the vine, it's just really really there.
- 23:41Speaker 4: Well, Simpsons references are now dying in the vine for people.
- 23:43Speaker 4: People who are twenty so have no idea that watch
- 23:45Speaker 4: of Simpsons. They just didn't watch it.
- 23:46Speaker 5: Let me ask you something, if you ever heard of
- 23:48Speaker 5: a band called The Violent Them, Yeah, of course I have. Yeah, Okay,
- 23:50Speaker 5: I get the feeling they don't have as much cultural
- 23:52Speaker 5: sort of cachet as they used to. But I'm cool
- 23:54Speaker 5: enough to know who they are. Well, that's true. Cool,
- 23:57Speaker 5: but yeah, back in the eighties we were like, you
- 24:00Speaker 5: ain't cool and listen listen to the balon Fams Pixies
- 24:04Speaker 5: as well. Yeah, but they had a song called kiss off,
- 24:07Speaker 5: and there's a line in it where I'm leasing a
- 24:10Speaker 5: Gordon ganno go. I hope you know that this will
- 24:12Speaker 5: go down on your permanent record. Now, I was used
- 24:16Speaker 5: to use that as kind of like a punchline. Okay, yeah,
- 24:18Speaker 5: I got it. Yeah, man, that's if someone did something
- 24:21Speaker 5: wrong or you know, someone ye made a mis staatement.
- 24:23Speaker 5: I hope you know this will go down on your
- 24:25Speaker 5: permanent record. As we were saying, if you know, you know,
- 24:28Speaker 5: and they will go cool gay. Yeah, nobody knows it anymore.
- 24:32Speaker 5: And I was like, oh, it feels really sad. I
- 24:33Speaker 5: got to phase that out of my personal voca.
- 24:35Speaker 4: Maybe we'll just you persist with it, Just persist. Well,
- 24:38Speaker 4: that's the other.
- 24:39Speaker 5: Thing, you know, if you know you've won, then you've won.
- 24:42Speaker 4: So it's also one of those things where it just
- 24:43Speaker 4: sounds funny anyway it does indeed. Yeah, but I want
- 24:46Speaker 4: to give a shout out. We're talking about hot Sauce
- 24:48Speaker 4: and whatnot, Chrispy Chili Oil, Chili Oil. My man Lee
- 24:52Speaker 4: former boss at k Rock here and Jelong would move
- 24:54Speaker 4: the triple and and whatnot. He's got the DC cartel
- 24:56Speaker 4: and they gone really well. He left radio to start
- 24:59Speaker 4: his own ChIL company. And yeah, so the original nineteen
- 25:02Speaker 4: eighty three dccartail dot com, dot A you check it out?
- 25:05Speaker 4: Oh my goodness, yeah amazing. Can we get some of
- 25:07Speaker 4: this to train? Well, they sent some right, and you
- 25:10Speaker 4: used it all. Know what happened was Nicola put it
- 25:12Speaker 4: into the pantry and put up the pages because the
- 25:15Speaker 4: guy and of course the kids pulled out their cereal
- 25:18Speaker 4: and it all smashed on the floor. All we had
- 25:21Speaker 4: chili oil across the entire floor.
- 25:24Speaker 5: So I'm going to contact my man once again. See
- 25:26Speaker 5: if you considers the word chili oil, we'd appreciate that. Delicious.
- 25:29Speaker 4: Yeah, dccartail dot com, dot you dit sponsors or anything.
- 25:31Speaker 4: Just is my mate help me out, helping him out?
- 25:35Speaker 4: Friend of the pod, Friend of the pod. Indeed, Yeah,
- 25:37Speaker 4: those are things I like. One other thing that I
- 25:39Speaker 4: did like was Marge cleaning her cleaning products.
- 25:42Speaker 5: Yes, it fel very muge. They didn't did what did
- 25:44Speaker 5: you enjoy it?
- 25:45Speaker 4: I love you know, I'm a big fan of special features, Yes,
- 25:48Speaker 4: in particular audio commentarists. And Krusty and such a Bob
- 25:52Speaker 4: had it an afternoon together and they watched the deluxe
- 25:55Speaker 4: DVD edition. The deluxe David Edition. I missed those times
- 25:59Speaker 4: of the how and Sanded Fog, House of Sanded Fog. Yeah,
- 26:02Speaker 4: I think it's It's just called House of Sand and Fog,
- 26:04Speaker 4: House of Sandy Fog, not the House. Okay, it can
- 26:06Speaker 4: be confusing. Oh, Blues Brothers not the Blues Brothers. Is
- 26:09Speaker 4: a Blue Bums or the Blues Brothers. It's the Blues
- 26:11Speaker 4: brother Some people just call it Blues Brothers.
- 26:12Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 26:12Speaker 4: Anyway, so house is sand and fog and then they
- 26:15Speaker 4: wash it with commentary and I love slash bubb Gone.
- 26:17Speaker 5: Director was a jerk.
- 26:21Speaker 4: No, it didn't say that. Sorry, the director was an ass.
- 26:24Speaker 4: I also really liked this was a sign gag. I'm
- 26:26Speaker 4: surprised it didn't make your favorite modes. I know you're
- 26:28Speaker 4: a big Quimby fan, the Quimby one.
- 26:31Speaker 5: Oh, I know the Quimby one. Yeah. I had to
- 26:33Speaker 5: step on one of my trivia.
- 26:34Speaker 4: Okay, yes, so the swell Air Hotel, Simpson's Affair in
- 26:37Speaker 4: the Ballroom A and a Quimby extra marital Affair in
- 26:40Speaker 4: Room four three too correct? Yes, nice to Okay, there
- 26:43Speaker 4: was also one to watch you questions? Well, everyone, two
- 26:45Speaker 4: of mine. Let's get to trivia.
- 26:47Speaker 5: What's left to trivia. We've we've talked about our favorite monthes.
- 26:49Speaker 5: We'll talk about more, but yeah, trivia.
- 26:51Speaker 2: Next question, you there eating the paste?
- 26:54Speaker 5: Shall I start? All you? You start?
- 26:55Speaker 4: Because I've got one left.
- 26:57Speaker 5: Then Helen Lovejoy brought her bought her fire poker from
- 27:01Speaker 5: where Nova Scotia, Nova Scotia. Yea.
- 27:06Speaker 4: My final question I'll find some more is who was
- 27:10Speaker 4: filming Marge's wedding?
- 27:11Speaker 5: Well, I'm assuming it's Gary because it's from Gary's Magic Moment. Correct. Yeah,
- 27:15Speaker 5: that's a great name for like a videographer or photographers
- 27:18Speaker 5: to a local wedding.
- 27:19Speaker 4: DJ Guy, I did our wedding. DJ Mitch who passed
- 27:21Speaker 4: away suddenly.
- 27:23Speaker 5: Oh that's right. DJ Mitch is dead. Yeah, he passed away.
- 27:25Speaker 4: He was like he was a hero in Geelong because
- 27:27Speaker 4: what he would do is he'd get old historical photos. Right,
- 27:30Speaker 4: we have his It sounds so random, but we have
- 27:33Speaker 4: this thing called Geelong Historical Societies.
- 27:35Speaker 5: I was called, and people in Geelong it's on Facebook.
- 27:37Speaker 5: That's necessarily that random. I know, it's just I don't
- 27:40Speaker 5: know you're talking about it. I'm sure people listening like
- 27:43Speaker 5: what the fuck? I'm sure people you have your localized
- 27:45Speaker 5: Facebook groups and people would post old school photos of
- 27:48Speaker 5: Gelong and what the are rare damage and ripped or whatever,
- 27:51Speaker 5: and he'd fix them up, he'd colorize them and make
- 27:53Speaker 5: them all looking great. And then one day it's just like, oh,
- 27:55Speaker 5: DJ Mitch just passed away, just sort of just dropped
- 27:58Speaker 5: dead kind of thing. Essentially, everyone went, I didn't know
- 28:01Speaker 5: the guy. I feel like, oh yeah, every like Geelong
- 28:04Speaker 5: felt sad for a day. Oh yeah, he was a
- 28:06Speaker 5: local personality. Yeah, and he DJD wedding.
- 28:09Speaker 4: He filmed their wedding for us I garage Magic Moses's
- 28:12Speaker 4: DJ Mitch.
- 28:12Speaker 5: DJ Mitch Rip DJ Mitch.
- 28:14Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what That's what Mitch did after he left
- 28:16Speaker 4: forefing a discount.
- 28:22Speaker 5: I have a question for you, Yeah, or do I? Yeah,
- 28:26Speaker 5: Gary's magic mon was actually one of mine. How long
- 28:29Speaker 5: was our pooh waiting for his license at the d
- 28:31Speaker 5: M D forty five minutes? Forty five minutes for me,
- 28:35Speaker 5: I really liked this and it was random, but it
- 28:37Speaker 5: made sense. Who were Marge's bridesmaids, Manduela and Cookie one?
- 28:43Speaker 4: Cookie one watched the Asian kind of random that Cookie one,
- 28:47Speaker 4: but I went, no, Well, she worked with Marge at
- 28:49Speaker 4: the REATA Okay, here's something.
- 28:52Speaker 5: You are the font of all Simpson's knowledge. Here's something,
- 28:55Speaker 5: ah kinder, You've also got Google in front of do Yes, okay.
- 29:00Speaker 5: They allude to Poo might have got lucky with Patty
- 29:04Speaker 5: Summer Selma just planting the seed of Patty and somewhere
- 29:07Speaker 5: earlier on in the episode. Yeah, yeah, at the re
- 29:11Speaker 5: wedding or something like that.
- 29:12Speaker 4: I liked that album of the show they re visited
- 29:15Speaker 4: and now, yeah, Manngula separated. Yeah, because he cheated on
- 29:20Speaker 4: it with the blonde? Oh wait, were they separated or not?
- 29:24Speaker 4: Because he got back together, but it was like a
- 29:26Speaker 4: love hate relationship, right.
- 29:27Speaker 5: Okay, so I was unsure of the timeline.
- 29:30Speaker 4: Yeah, I was because they split up because he got
- 29:32Speaker 4: caught cheated with the squishy girl.
- 29:33Speaker 5: Remember, Oh, what's wrong Poo Manula whether they might have
- 29:37Speaker 5: been like a forgive and forget kind of deal, but maybe.
- 29:39Speaker 4: Not part time Quacky might employee. She's still married apparently too. Yeah,
- 29:45Speaker 4: because they just sort of passed it off like, oh,
- 29:47Speaker 4: I think he got lucky with Mandula, sorry with Salmat
- 29:50Speaker 4: like it was no big deal.
- 29:52Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 29:52Speaker 4: I don't think it's worth enough more discussion. Let's just

- 29:55Speaker 5: From there, shall we.
- 29:57Speaker 4: I do like though that they touched on the previous

- 30:03Speaker 4: this is this actually happened, So things are canon, Matt
- 30:05Speaker 4: Salmon Cannon when you wanted to be.
- 30:09Speaker 5: Okay, have we done an even number of tribut questions?

- 31:16Speaker 4: on next week's mail bag show. What a hall of fame,
- 31:19Speaker 4: Hall of fame. Indeed, let's get into a review show
- 31:22Speaker 4: with though. Let's of the episode. So the original air
- 31:24Speaker 4: day of wedding for Disaster was March twenty ninth, two
- 31:28Speaker 4: thousand and nine. Would you like to know the top
- 31:30Speaker 4: three films at the box office at that time? What
- 31:32Speaker 4: was big in two thousand and nine?
- 31:33Speaker 5: Do you think it's I don't know. Would you say
- 31:39Speaker 5: monsters versus aliens? Well, now that you mention it, yeah,
- 31:43Speaker 5: I mean monsters are always big, aliens are always big.
- 31:45Speaker 5: Imagine pitting the two of them against one, now you'd
- 31:47Speaker 5: probably be number one.
- 31:47Speaker 4: I never watched the film, but the kids watched it recently,
- 31:50Speaker 4: was on Netflix, I think, and they sort of kids
- 31:52Speaker 4: just find things. Now I feel like I put down
- 31:55Speaker 4: streaming services a lot. There is an element now that
- 31:58Speaker 4: kids can operate the remote finding movies much like I
- 32:01Speaker 4: used to discover films at the video store, when you're
- 32:03Speaker 4: just browsing through and you see the picture and you go,
- 32:05Speaker 4: I know what this is about because I can't read,
- 32:07Speaker 4: but the.
- 32:08Speaker 5: Pictures look good.
- 32:08Speaker 4: Sure, And they go and they discovered Mosses versus Aliens
- 32:11Speaker 4: and they love it. They really really enjoy it.
- 32:13Speaker 5: Yah. It's a very generous way of looking at the
- 32:15Speaker 5: modern age.
- 32:16Speaker 4: The Haunting in Connecticut was number two at the US
- 32:19Speaker 4: box office at the time. No recollection at all, Nope.
- 32:22Speaker 4: And the third one, you may know it. It's knowing.
- 32:24Speaker 4: Oh film here and Gelong it part of it, part
- 32:27Speaker 4: of it certainly Nicholas Cage, who is going to be
- 32:30Speaker 4: playing He's in the movie that was filmed in Geelong, Madden.
- 32:34Speaker 5: Different movie. Oh is it okay? Different movie? Yeah, the
- 32:38Speaker 5: one in Geelong is Mister Irrelevant starring the New Superman. Yeah.
- 32:42Speaker 5: Nicholas Cage is playing Madden in Madden, which is about
- 32:46Speaker 5: John Madden and him being part of the biggest sports
- 32:49Speaker 5: video game in history. Yeah, Madden NFL like Madden Madden. Yeah, Shlock,
- 32:54Speaker 5: Shane Warre ninety nine.
- 32:55Speaker 4: But it's Madden Madden like Bruce mcivat again, it's like
- 33:00Speaker 4: mcavanny twenty five, Bruce mcavanni and acclaimed sports commentator here Astralia.
- 33:06Speaker 4: Absolute legend, absolute legend indeed. But yeah, So the original edit,
- 33:09Speaker 4: as I said, of this episode, was March twenty ninth,
- 33:11Speaker 4: two thousand and nine, production code Lab F zero five,
- 33:15Speaker 4: written by Joel H. Cohen, directed by Chuck Sheets. Guest
- 33:18Speaker 4: stars Calsi Grummer as Sacho Bob for a brief cameo.
- 33:21Speaker 5: Yeah, nice that he came back.
- 33:23Speaker 4: Need a Sarchobob episode every season other than they used
- 33:25Speaker 4: to do in the Gold Near But it felt like
- 33:26Speaker 4: by this point, twenty years and how many times can
- 33:28Speaker 4: he come back and do the same thing. So him
- 33:29Speaker 4: just making a cameo like this, I'm all for it.
- 33:32Speaker 5: That's a nice little rug pull.
- 33:33Speaker 4: Yeah, And then the chopball game. My piggy bank is
- 33:36Speaker 4: not entitled to TARP funds.
- 33:38Speaker 5: What is TARP. TARP is troubled Asset Relief Program. Relief
- 33:42Speaker 5: program is essentially the bailout for banks.
- 33:45Speaker 4: Oh okay, there we go, and the couch gag for
- 33:47Speaker 4: dinner courses resembling Homer, Lisa, March and Bart are all eaten.
- 33:51Speaker 4: And then we have an after dinner mint of Maggie,
- 33:55Speaker 4: and it turns out it is the comic book guy
- 33:56Speaker 4: who has been eating them. He wipes his face. I
- 33:58Speaker 4: think in the grease looks like the family on the couch.
- 34:00Speaker 4: Correct catch, not too bad, not too bad, indeed, not
- 34:03Speaker 4: too bad, not too bad. The episode kicks off with
- 34:08Speaker 4: us on Us with the town at church Today is Shadrack.
- 34:12Speaker 4: They you pronounce it shadrack, the other friend of I'm
- 34:15Speaker 4: not religious apologies.
- 34:19Speaker 5: The only reason I know about shadow, about these particular
- 34:22Speaker 5: characters is because the Beast Boys had a song about
- 34:24Speaker 5: them on Paul's tick Shadrack, Mishack and a bed and
- 34:28Speaker 5: to go. It's Paul's tick the LP I bought for
- 34:30Speaker 5: you it is. Yes, it's the second Beast of Boys
- 34:32Speaker 5: album and just one of the best albums of all time.
- 34:34Speaker 4: I bought you an original one too. It wasn't like
- 34:36Speaker 4: a reprint, but Lovejoy explains how there are only two
- 34:40Speaker 4: real commandments here the other eight of filler. What are
- 34:42Speaker 4: the two real ones?
- 34:43Speaker 5: Do you think? I'm pretty sure they all shall not
- 34:44Speaker 5: kill is up there and murder Yeah, and well, if
- 34:49Speaker 5: they're coming direct from God, I imagine like the shall
- 34:52Speaker 5: not disrespect God.
- 34:54Speaker 4: Yeah, I am God. Nobody else, yeah, noticing No the
- 34:59Speaker 4: icon or something, isn't it no other idol?
- 35:00Speaker 5: Yeah? False? Yeah, no graven images or some something like that. Anyway,
- 35:05Speaker 5: but he has some exciting cover your neighbor's wife.
- 35:08Speaker 4: Then he has some exciting news though, and tomorrow there'll
- 35:11Speaker 4: be a visit from the highest ranking clergyman of the
- 35:13Speaker 4: presby Lutheran faith, his Holiness the Parson, which is the
- 35:17Speaker 4: Simpsons version of the Pope. Yes, indeed, yeah, except he's
- 35:20Speaker 4: far core than the Pope.
- 35:22Speaker 5: No, Papa looks like cool dude, he does. Yeah, just
- 35:25Speaker 5: I mean it's the gear, like this guy's rocking up.
- 35:27Speaker 5: You just you know. Yeah, he's been Crosby, isn't he
- 35:31Speaker 5: being Crosby? Yeah? Yeah, everyone's very well does everyone's very excited,
- 35:36Speaker 5: but Flanders is very He's excited enough for everybody. Yeah,
- 35:38Speaker 5: Homie's patterned high pitch squeal. Yeah.
- 35:41Speaker 4: Homie uses this as an excuse to leave by saying
- 35:43Speaker 4: they're going is it sniffing salts.
- 35:44Speaker 5: Or whatever, We're going to get some smelling smelling salts.
- 35:46Speaker 4: Yeah, and they bail. Then we get the news report
- 35:49Speaker 4: at the I gues say the grand opening, but it's
- 35:51Speaker 4: the grand arrival.
- 35:52Speaker 9: I should say Springfielders have camped out all night to
- 35:55Speaker 9: get a glimpse of the most safely person that's in
- 35:57Speaker 9: our town since Mother Teresa stopped to guess au Per
- 36:01Speaker 9: vesper and I'm.
- 36:02Speaker 4: Telling all sorts of faith based knickknacks.
- 36:05Speaker 2: Let's take a look.
- 36:06Speaker 8: I'd commit arson for the parson clergyman can kiss my apps?
- 36:11Speaker 5: Oh kinds of gems.
- 36:12Speaker 10: Surprisingly none of them have sold except for this one.
- 36:17Speaker 4: This scene came across like we've a couple of putting
- 36:19Speaker 4: a few puns together. We want to get we have
- 36:21Speaker 4: to get him out of our system.
- 36:22Speaker 5: How can we do it? These are too good to
- 36:25Speaker 5: put on the whiteboard and the writers or even just
- 36:27Speaker 5: share amongst that. So with these are signed gags. They
- 36:29Speaker 5: couldn't find signs for very good thinking. Yeah, so what
- 36:32Speaker 5: was it?
- 36:34Speaker 4: I'd commit arson for the parson clergyman can kiss my apps?
- 36:38Speaker 4: And then the third one he didn't read out, but
- 36:40Speaker 4: he sees, who would Jesus do do you think that's
- 36:42Speaker 4: a legal didn't know. We can't have mo saying this,
- 36:46Speaker 4: but you can read it.
- 36:47Speaker 5: You can read it and if you're willing to have to,
- 36:49Speaker 5: if you're willing to pay the attention, well, you know,
- 36:52Speaker 5: you may feel you may laugh, or you may be offended.
- 36:53Speaker 4: But I remember there was a website. What would Tyler
- 36:55Speaker 4: Durton do?
- 36:56Speaker 5: Do you remember that? I'm aware of it. Yeah.
- 36:58Speaker 4: What happened to that website?
- 37:00Speaker 5: I don't know. All the websites that were huge then
- 37:02Speaker 5: just sort of just went bankrupt really quickly. Well that's true. Yeah,
- 37:05Speaker 5: the ashes fell out. We got this saying when you know,
- 37:09Speaker 5: if you're going to warn against, don't put your nudes
- 37:11Speaker 5: on the internet. The internet is forever. It's not really forever.
- 37:13Speaker 5: So many things that wait.
- 37:14Speaker 4: Which was the website that whole Hogan sued? Oh that
- 37:17Speaker 4: was Gorka Gorka was it?
- 37:19Speaker 5: Yeah? Hawker Media, Yeah, yeah, because he was.
- 37:22Speaker 4: Releasing the racist stuff, wasn't it.
- 37:23Speaker 5: Oh yeah, Well he's bankrolled by Peter Teel's like one
- 37:26Speaker 5: of the biggest, one of the richest people in the world.
- 37:29Speaker 5: It's all very sketchy, but wonderful. What a wonderful world.
- 37:36Speaker 4: Unfortunately for mo though, none of these things have sold
- 37:38Speaker 4: except for the welcome passing badges, just.
- 37:42Speaker 5: Like news has never been so after Yeah.
- 37:45Speaker 4: The parson then arrives and planners asked for a quick
- 37:48Speaker 4: church position on family. It gives his position his family
- 37:52Speaker 4: is more important than ever and makes his mustache tingle.
- 37:55Speaker 4: And then he says, I'm just a man. I'm just
- 37:57Speaker 4: a man like any other. There's been chosen by guard.
- 38:00Speaker 4: As you're saying, like, he's very he's humble, but he
- 38:03Speaker 4: wants you to make oh, sure you're aware I'm also
- 38:06Speaker 4: the man. The man, Yes, yeah, I was chosen by God.
- 38:09Speaker 4: He said he's come from the World Spiritual Headquarters located.
- 38:12Speaker 5: In Michigan City.
- 38:14Speaker 4: He said he's going to go speak to Reverend love
- 38:16Speaker 4: Joy as well. And this is where we find out
- 38:18Speaker 4: that he was his old roommate from Texas Christian And
- 38:20Speaker 4: they just don't play into that at all, do they.
- 38:22Speaker 4: They've got some history there, ye, I guess that's why
- 38:24Speaker 4: they're so casual with each other.
- 38:26Speaker 5: I think they did just enough. You know, I just
- 38:29Speaker 5: sort of give you a hint into their background and
- 38:31Speaker 5: why Lovejoy would feel the way he feels. You know, he's,
- 38:34Speaker 5: like I said, he's the big fish in this small town.
- 38:36Speaker 5: But yeah, the guy he shared a room with that
- 38:38Speaker 5: Texas Christian's gone on to become the parson.
- 38:42Speaker 4: And I think he's interesting enough as a character where
- 38:44Speaker 4: you could, like I said, he obviously returns buy into
- 38:47Speaker 4: a story down the track. They've established here. They were
- 38:49Speaker 4: friends in their roommates. There'll be an episode at some point.
- 38:52Speaker 5: It's like if you were at school with mister Beast.
- 38:55Speaker 4: Please know that's that's wild man.
- 38:59Speaker 5: Doesn't smile, just shows his teeth, just shows his teeth.
- 39:01Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what annoys me is that he now has
- 39:06Speaker 4: action figures. It was like some it was a beast.
- 39:09Speaker 4: It's like it's this blue Beast thing. And his kids
- 39:11Speaker 4: at school they put out these toys. I said, what
- 39:13Speaker 4: are they? They look like he man toys go it's
- 39:14Speaker 4: mister Beast's toys.
- 39:15Speaker 5: And I went, oh, man.
- 39:19Speaker 4: I'm so out of touch. Mister Beast is now action
- 39:22Speaker 4: figures anyway, But he says he's he's nervous.
- 39:25Speaker 5: He tries.
- 39:26Speaker 4: He says to Helen, look, he's the pope of this thing,
- 39:29Speaker 4: you know, and she says, don't worry about it. Don't
- 39:30Speaker 4: worry about it at all. And so it'd be like
- 39:32Speaker 4: you if Mary Kate visited you when you were selling
- 39:34Speaker 4: her cosmetics. That's if you stuck with it, and she says, well,
- 39:37Speaker 4: you asked me to a quick cause I was making
- 39:38Speaker 4: more money than you. On are the odds that we
- 39:40Speaker 4: finally we get a take on husband Insecurity the week
- 39:44Speaker 4: after we do Springfield Connection? True, but that's I can
- 39:48Speaker 4: buy into love Joy not wanting Helen to make more money.
- 39:50Speaker 5: Than him, can't you? Oh yeah, I think he's pretty traditional.
- 39:54Speaker 5: I think, yeah, I think it sort of want things
- 39:57Speaker 5: to go the way they.
- 40:01Speaker 4: They greet him as he arrives, Helen talks up that
- 40:03Speaker 4: she's waxed the pews and whatnot, and he wants to
- 40:06Speaker 4: talk in private and Lovejoy's office and sings another one
- 40:08Speaker 4: of his songs on the way there. Just as I said,
- 40:10Speaker 4: just comes across like Hankazaria just does a good thing.
- 40:12Speaker 4: So they just went with it.
- 40:13Speaker 5: Wax in the pews.
- 40:14Speaker 4: Yeah, he's here because Lovejoy's card has declined when they
- 40:18Speaker 4: charge his filing fee for his recertification, So everything he's
- 40:21Speaker 4: done for that three month period wasn't void. So it
- 40:23Speaker 4: wasn't the previous three months.
- 40:24Speaker 5: It was a while ago. Parent correct, Yes, And yeah,
- 40:27Speaker 5: I mean I think they do a pretty good job.
- 40:29Speaker 5: They don't really throw love Joy under the bus. I mean,
- 40:32Speaker 5: it's not like he's mismanaged funds. It was a good
- 40:34Speaker 5: reason for there was a legitimate mistake, Yes, because Helen.
- 40:37Speaker 5: The bank put a hold in the account because Helen
- 40:39Speaker 5: bought a offshore poker for the fire. Yes instead she Yeah,
- 40:43Speaker 5: well the bank clearly thought, oh, he's doing some kind
- 40:46Speaker 5: of weird gambling thing, but no, she was buying a
- 40:48Speaker 5: poker offshore, as in from Canada.
- 40:51Speaker 4: And in this scene here, whilst they're talking, Flanners is
- 40:53Speaker 4: in the background in the window to society. He sees
- 40:56Speaker 4: he makes icon bails.
- 40:57Speaker 5: Right.
- 40:58Speaker 4: This is them just again taking advantage of the Hahty
- 41:00Speaker 4: era where you can add stuff in the background and
- 41:02Speaker 4: keep I've read read I think that was one of
- 41:04Speaker 4: the audio commentaries I listened to where they said they
- 41:06Speaker 4: wanted to take advantage and just keep all elements of
- 41:09Speaker 4: the shot interesting.
- 41:10Speaker 6: Right.
- 41:10Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 41:11Speaker 4: I do think at times though, it can be a
- 41:12Speaker 4: bit distracting. So I found myself watching Flanders and not
- 41:15Speaker 4: paying attention to what they were saying.
- 41:16Speaker 5: True. Actually, yeah, I mean no, you're right, that's a
- 41:19Speaker 5: really good point. Sometimes less is more.
- 41:20Speaker 4: I get you can do it, but sometimes you don't
- 41:22Speaker 4: have to Yeah, yeah, because there are times where it works.
- 41:25Speaker 4: But I just don't think having Flanders acting or disrected
- 41:28Speaker 4: in the background, distracting in the background when I'm trying
- 41:30Speaker 4: to listen to the conversation can.
- 41:32Speaker 5: Be focusing on. Once Acain, I.
- 41:34Speaker 4: Couldn't focus and I pauses, and he's doing so I
- 41:36Speaker 4: had to pause and rewinded ten seconds, I went, oh,
- 41:38Speaker 4: I wasn't. I found myself not listening but just watching Flanders.
- 41:42Speaker 10: I love concos all I remember when she was Helen
- 41:46Speaker 10: schwartz Baum. In fact, I remember when she was Harold
- 41:49Speaker 10: schwartz Boun You what I've said too much.
- 41:52Speaker 8: But for the three months it took your card to
- 41:54Speaker 8: go through, you weren't certified. And the thing you officiated
- 41:58Speaker 8: during that time funerals baptisms in Wingo, Well it just
- 42:02Speaker 8: didn't count.
- 42:03Speaker 9: Oh well, I'm sure the Lord is understanding.
- 42:07Speaker 10: No, he's not.
- 42:08Speaker 5: Well, I'll notify those affected right away.
- 42:11Speaker 10: What's going on, Allen?
- 42:13Speaker 9: I was briefly uncertified, So.
- 42:16Speaker 5: All those graces you said were a lie.
- 42:19Speaker 8: That food might as well have been regurgitated by Satan
- 42:22Speaker 8: himself regurgitated by Satan.
- 42:25Speaker 5: He couldn't keep it.
- 42:26Speaker 10: Down or six sixty six. He got six sixty six,
- 42:29Speaker 10: and that's how Volkenors were Bold.

- 43:03Speaker 4: has a various montage of telling the various people about
- 43:05Speaker 4: all this stuff. So Jasper's about his wife by the way,
- 43:09Speaker 4: quick note, Yeah, he looked it up in his Psalm pilot,
- 43:11Speaker 4: which I thought was pretty funny.
- 43:13Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 43:14Speaker 4: So he goes and tells Jasper about so about his wife.
- 43:16Speaker 5: Was it the funeral?
- 43:17Speaker 4: Yes, And he looked at her ashes on the bus
- 43:19Speaker 4: or whatever, and it just was like, so she's not dead.
- 43:23Speaker 4: Then the sea Captain's vessel isn't blessed and gets taken
- 43:26Speaker 4: over by a wave and clearness is tin Ruf shanty
- 43:29Speaker 4: has not been blessed as.
- 43:31Speaker 5: Well, hadn't been blessed, so he thinks it's haunted, and
- 43:33Speaker 5: it turns out to actually being haunted by the male man.
- 43:35Speaker 5: The male man.
- 43:36Speaker 4: Yeah, the ghost keeps coming to his window. Then he
- 43:37Speaker 4: tells Homer and Marge at their new wedding there would
- 43:40Speaker 4: have been the third because it was the fourth. Their
- 43:42Speaker 4: third wedding was not certified. But Marge runs through the
- 43:44Speaker 4: previous episode where the Luan and Kirk split up, and
- 43:50Speaker 4: we'll get the gist that the previous episode and where
- 43:53Speaker 4: she's going through the photos, and she shows that she
- 43:55Speaker 4: thinks of Pooh got lucky with her sister.
- 43:56Speaker 5: Very casual.
- 43:57Speaker 4: But yeah, you're right, I in my brain has assumed
- 43:59Speaker 4: other must have split up because he cheered on it.
- 44:01Speaker 4: But I think they got back together anyway. Bahoma says,
- 44:04Speaker 4: you know, the old lady and I've got a good
- 44:06Speaker 4: thing going on. We don't need a piece of paper, man,
- 44:08Speaker 4: what do you mean, old lady?
- 44:09Speaker 5: I need that paper quick. I do like it when
- 44:13Speaker 5: I sort of let's yeah, that's not being a joke, No, no,
- 44:15Speaker 5: not at all. He's just reverting to youthful. Youthful Homer, well,
- 44:21Speaker 5: he was trying to be nice. He's like, we don't
- 44:23Speaker 5: need no damn piece of paper. We're in love.
- 44:25Speaker 4: Do you mean old lady quick? Before she runs. So
- 44:30Speaker 4: now they're eating lunch because they weren't eating breakfast. I
- 44:33Speaker 4: ran at breakfast table when they're eating sandwiches. It was
- 44:35Speaker 4: just such an odd thing. What I think I've ever
- 44:37Speaker 4: seen him all just eating sandwiches. Anyway, they're eating sandwiches.
- 44:40Speaker 4: But asked, does that make me a bastard? Then if
- 44:43Speaker 4: you weren't married, No, because they were married when they
- 44:45Speaker 4: originally had bart But if he does something to make
- 44:48Speaker 4: somebody angry and cause, yes, that is still valid. So
- 44:52Speaker 4: he says it's good because they I think Lisa suggested
- 44:54Speaker 4: you should go get married at town hall or something
- 44:55Speaker 4: like that. Anyway, they're gonna get married. And but so
- 44:57Speaker 4: that's great because then you won't me just be in
- 44:59Speaker 4: life instead of just exhausted zombies running down the clock.
- 45:01Speaker 4: Homer chokes him, cause him a little bastard again? Is
- 45:05Speaker 4: it just their way of getting away of using bastard?
- 45:08Speaker 4: Probably anyway, it won't, I guess for the scene. But
- 45:11Speaker 4: we're in line now at city hall. Want to say,
- 45:12Speaker 4: I think it's city hall to get like a what
- 45:15Speaker 4: dold you call his shot shotgun wedding?
- 45:16Speaker 5: No, no, no, no, shotgun marriage is when Las Vegas. No no,
- 45:20Speaker 5: it's when knocked up someone, isn't it? Someone has knocked
- 45:24Speaker 5: up and one of the father and law has probably
- 45:25Speaker 5: come along with the shotgun? You better get married? Is
- 45:28Speaker 5: that what it's probm? Is it?
- 45:29Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 45:30Speaker 5: Okay? So what this is more just like a city
- 45:33Speaker 5: hall wedding or a registry registry Yeah, okay, it's not
- 45:36Speaker 5: really a ceremonious much. It's a it's a procedure. It's
- 45:38Speaker 5: a process.
- 45:39Speaker 4: Yeah, but sorry, Glory and Snake are in line, mo
- 45:44Speaker 4: and a lot anyway. I just said that because this
- 45:47Speaker 4: is not the romantic place she thought she was going
- 45:49Speaker 4: to be getting married in. Homers says, well, any place
- 45:51Speaker 4: with you is romantic to me. Half the CoP's coming through,
- 45:55Speaker 4: Jemah says he's going to take her elsewhere, because you
- 45:57Speaker 4: know what home it's nice?
- 45:58Speaker 5: Can you look? What's the angle here? What are you
- 46:01Speaker 5: playing at?
- 46:02Speaker 4: But the line to get to leave is longer than
- 46:04Speaker 4: the line to get in. Margins then cleaning her cleaning products,
- 46:07Speaker 4: her spray bottles and whatnot. They are great, by the way,
- 46:10Speaker 4: for getting kittens who are doing the wrong thing.
- 46:12Speaker 5: A water gum. Oh yeah, absolutely, going for the curtains.
- 46:17Speaker 4: Have you ever sprayed? Basy? So when do you spray?
- 46:20Speaker 4: Did just give them the one or did you go?
- 46:22Speaker 4: Do you a couple?
- 46:23Speaker 5: Usually two?
- 46:24Speaker 4: I think I've got three, just to make sure on
- 46:27Speaker 4: the on the run, just make sure that actually one
- 46:29Speaker 4: gets you on the as you know, come back. I've
- 46:35Speaker 4: read though that you're not supposed to do it where
- 46:37Speaker 4: they can see that it's you doing, because then they'll
- 46:38Speaker 4: resent you. And I'm like, hey, I resent there for
- 46:40Speaker 4: ruining my curtains.
- 46:43Speaker 5: Get used to a scratches and all your ship. I
- 46:47Speaker 5: tried a perfectly nice couch because I just rip the
- 46:49Speaker 5: hell out of really nice couches. Just claw marks on it.
- 46:52Speaker 4: I'm like, they're not clawing at it anymore, but it's
- 46:54Speaker 4: just like when they jump up on it, it's just scratches,
- 46:56Speaker 4: and I'm like, oh.
- 46:58Speaker 5: Oh yeah, I've got lovely new bed linen, lovely you
- 47:02Speaker 5: know linen doing the cover and all that kind of stuffing.
- 47:04Speaker 5: Basically you'll jump up on occasionally. But whenever I try
- 47:07Speaker 5: to cut his claws. You're not doing it. I'm like, okay,
- 47:09Speaker 5: then I'm not doing it.
- 47:10Speaker 4: Do you if you try to cut the close? I
- 47:11Speaker 4: haven't tried to do that yet. Oh yeah, I'm but
- 47:13Speaker 4: I think I can have to tempt a bath soon.
- 47:15Speaker 4: I'm not sure this is going to go.
- 47:16Speaker 5: I'll just let him wash himself.
- 47:18Speaker 4: But I look at like the white one that we
- 47:19Speaker 4: that we have, Daphne, the older one, because she's white
- 47:22Speaker 4: and because she was outside, because she hadn't nod bath
- 47:24Speaker 4: and she's been here and she was like living under
- 47:25Speaker 4: the deck and whatnot, looking at him like you aren't,
- 47:27Speaker 4: you're filthy healthy, and she she's not gonna like it
- 47:30Speaker 4: because I've watched some how to bath the cap videos
- 47:32Speaker 4: on YouTube and I'm like, I don't think I can
- 47:34Speaker 4: do this. Get to know your this, Yeah, my surgeon,
- 47:41Speaker 4: when I get all the clawmucks out of my hand.
- 47:44Speaker 5: But I think I think I messed up when the
- 47:45Speaker 5: first time I tried to cut Bassi's claws when when
- 47:48Speaker 5: he was little, and I might have cut too close
- 47:50Speaker 5: to the quick. Yeah. Now he's kind of like, we're
- 47:52Speaker 5: not doing that ship or you know, or this is
- 47:55Speaker 5: like this is a three person. Job, I trusted you.
- 47:58Speaker 5: I messed up. Messed up you talking about that spray bottle. Yeah,
- 48:03Speaker 5: yeah it is.
- 48:05Speaker 4: It's stadistic, but I kind of enjoy it and just
- 48:07Speaker 4: like you a little fucker. But Homer is no longer Homer.
- 48:12Speaker 4: He's Lance Romance Lands Romance.
- 48:14Speaker 5: I know, I like that. And he has planned this
- 48:15Speaker 5: nice little treasure hunter because you can say treasure hunt, yeah,
- 48:20Speaker 5: scavenger or mister active misdirection. It seems excessive. But considering
- 48:25Speaker 5: that you just had to go downstairs to the basement. Yeah, yeah,
- 48:28Speaker 5: but that's that's the joke. Roping in Yeah, true, that
- 48:31Speaker 5: is the joke. Roping and bar And.
- 48:34Speaker 4: So the skywriter says, go to the door, Marche or
- 48:36Speaker 4: something like that. At the door barn showed on it, says,
- 48:39Speaker 4: turn on the radio, Bill and Marty say, hey, go
- 48:41Speaker 4: to the basement. March goes down there and Homer is there.
- 48:44Speaker 4: He's there with a violinists he's got pants on with
- 48:46Speaker 4: a crease, and he asked her to marry him in
- 48:49Speaker 4: style unlike their kids, this one's going to be planned.
- 48:52Speaker 4: And she says yes, and he celebrates with the Santa
- 48:54Speaker 4: decoration and puts him back into the.
- 48:57Speaker 5: Back into his els too.
- 49:00Speaker 4: There's true more or something like that. Yeah, I do
- 49:01Speaker 4: feel sorry when I put away the Christmas decoration. We've
- 49:03Speaker 4: got a Santa figure that we put under the tree
- 49:04Speaker 4: v and I'm like, yeah.
- 49:07Speaker 5: And a half months, buddy, see you next December. But
- 49:13Speaker 5: now we're.
- 49:13Speaker 4: At web Lobster good name, I like it, and Marge
- 49:17Speaker 4: he's trying on dresses and she says it's awful lot
- 49:19Speaker 4: to pay for a dressing minikin to wear once, and
- 49:21Speaker 4: I'm like, March, that is very true. Yeah, it's a
- 49:23Speaker 4: lot of money you spend for one day. But she says, well,
- 49:26Speaker 4: do you want to look like a fairy princess or
- 49:28Speaker 4: a pig rupped in rags? And she chooses princess. Well
- 49:31Speaker 4: have it your way there, yes, But then asked about
- 49:33Speaker 4: the pirates to being game. We've already discussed that bit.
- 49:35Speaker 4: We won't go any further home, And then they're choosing
- 49:38Speaker 4: cakes and Homer wants to rocket cake, but it's for
- 49:40Speaker 4: a child's birthday party, so he says, we'll have you
- 49:41Speaker 4: put the cake inside it, and I forget.
- 49:43Speaker 5: It'll be exciting because I won't remember. She's like, no, no, no, no, no, she's.
- 49:46Speaker 4: Not being bride's silly yet, But she's starting to take control,
- 49:49Speaker 4: isn't she.
- 49:49Speaker 5: Well, yeah, and look with audio, know this is a
- 49:52Speaker 5: both parties are involved in this marriage, you know. Yeah,
- 49:55Speaker 5: Homer should be in as much of a part of
- 49:57Speaker 5: it as as as Marge's. At the same time, having
- 50:00Speaker 5: a rocket ship cake for your weddings, I don't know
- 50:03Speaker 5: about that. I'm childish. I'm too large on this one. Yeah.
- 50:07Speaker 4: But then she says, you can choose the topping or
- 50:08Speaker 4: the icing. He chooses chocolate. She just goes, no, lemonon.
- 50:11Speaker 5: Yeah. Again, she's right.
- 50:12Speaker 4: When you think of lemon, what do you think of?
- 50:14Speaker 4: First thing comes to your mind? Lemon slice. I'm Liz Lemon.
- 50:18Speaker 5: Oh, well you should be here. Are one of the
- 50:22Speaker 5: fantastic shows, thirty Rock, thirty Rock. Indeed, do we We
- 50:25Speaker 5: did the pilot for TV lunch Point, right, I believe
- 50:27Speaker 5: we did TV launch Point. What a time, great time
- 50:29Speaker 5: to be alive. Yeah, we may do it again some stage.
- 50:31Speaker 5: We'll do it at some point. Yeah, we're just you know,
- 50:32Speaker 5: a lot of lot of stuff going on here. A
- 50:33Speaker 5: four figure discount, that's a lot happening. I hope you're

- 50:44Speaker 5: on Twitter, but just four figure discount on Instagram and TikTok.

- 50:48Speaker 5: put the link in the description of this podcast. That's true,
- 50:51Speaker 5: the daily clips now of yours truly and the natural
- 50:55Speaker 5: Home for a bunch of middle aged men. Exactly so.
- 51:00Speaker 4: Yes, So basically Marge is starting to you can see
- 51:01Speaker 4: she's outlets if she's starting to take control.
- 51:04Speaker 1: Okay, I want white roses at the altar, red roses
- 51:07Speaker 1: along the aisle, and blue roses in the centerpieces.
- 51:11Speaker 5: There are no blue roses. I want to talk to Howard.
- 51:14Speaker 10: Howard died ten years ago.
- 51:15Speaker 6: Well did he take all the blue roses with him?
- 51:18Speaker 5: My father was a lovely man.
- 51:19Speaker 8: He took very good care of my mother and me.
- 51:22Speaker 4: Then Marge wants every table to have two bread baskets,
- 51:24Speaker 4: but one only one butter, because it starts conversation. She's
- 51:27Speaker 4: not incorrect, but would it be a conversation you want
- 51:30Speaker 4: people you're having at your wedding, they'd be annoyed.
- 51:32Speaker 5: Right, not not better? Well, goober, have you been to
- 51:36Speaker 5: like a wedding or some kind of function where he
- 51:38Speaker 5: had a table with people that you don't know and
- 51:40Speaker 5: you need some external thing to sort of spark a
- 51:43Speaker 5: bit of combo.
- 51:44Speaker 4: You just go about them cats.
- 51:45Speaker 5: Well you do do that, but I mean sometimes it's
- 51:50Speaker 5: nice to be bonding of it. Yeah, a perceived mistake
- 51:53Speaker 5: or oversight. What it was like incredibly got all his
- 51:56Speaker 5: bread and no butter, I know, right, no, but everything
- 51:59Speaker 5: else is so good. What ship wedding and it gets
- 52:02Speaker 5: the ball rolling from there.
- 52:03Speaker 4: So you just want to you want to start the conversation. Yeah,
- 52:06Speaker 4: there's no dummy. She is not indeed, that's right. But
- 52:08Speaker 4: Homer starts questioning, like we really need all this, and
- 52:11Speaker 4: she just breaks and puts him down, makes him feel
- 52:13Speaker 4: like he's just not not worthy. But it's just he's
- 52:16Speaker 4: not important right now, He's not he's a piece.
- 52:18Speaker 5: He's not valid.
- 52:19Speaker 4: Yeah, Marge's annoyed that Homer said that Lenny and Carl
- 52:22Speaker 4: can come with their dates because they're not even coming
- 52:23Speaker 4: to the wedding. What do you mean because there ares
- 52:25Speaker 4: v peoples a day late. Now I'm going, oh shit,
- 52:27Speaker 4: oh yes, yes, now you're being a bit of a
- 52:29Speaker 4: bride zilla and he calls it the bride Zilly.
- 52:31Speaker 5: That's the thing I had written down, Oh, Marge going bridezilla.
- 52:34Speaker 5: And then within about five seconds that's that's hey, I
- 52:37Speaker 5: just said that.
- 52:38Speaker 4: It's almost like that's the point of the story. And
- 52:40Speaker 4: then she calls him king wrong. I was like, oh,
- 52:42Speaker 4: this I work with. And then Maggie watches them argue
- 52:45Speaker 4: in characters.
- 52:46Speaker 5: And characters King Kong, and I.
- 52:48Speaker 4: Just think I liked this because are in front of
- 52:51Speaker 4: your kids. He shouldn't do it right if possible. And
- 52:53Speaker 4: Nicol and I we don't argue very much anyway, got
- 52:55Speaker 4: might bigger over a few things, but once we didn't
- 52:58Speaker 4: in front of Alliott, and it bothered him because he'd
- 53:00Speaker 4: never seen us not agree about something. And it's made
- 53:03Speaker 4: me realize, oh shit, kids, you need to be the rock.
- 53:08Speaker 5: Oh yeah, you need to be united front. Yeah. Oh absolutely,
- 53:12Speaker 5: I mean yeah, you realize you've got mum and dad,
- 53:15Speaker 5: but it's like it's also mum and dad.
- 53:17Speaker 4: Yeah, if you're going to be a unit, you need
- 53:19Speaker 4: to be a unit.
- 53:20Speaker 5: Sure.
- 53:20Speaker 4: Yeah, But then it's time for the wedding at the
- 53:22Speaker 4: Swell Air Hotel. As we're saying Simpson's affairs in the
- 53:25Speaker 4: ballroom A and could be extra marital affairs in room
- 53:28Speaker 4: four three two. Homer is sad there was in his
- 53:30Speaker 4: room by himself, didn't have any groovesmn, He's just there
- 53:32Speaker 4: by himself, and he says, what I do. March is
- 53:34Speaker 4: mad at me? And what will she be like after
- 53:36Speaker 4: I get after we get married. I mean, you've been
- 53:39Speaker 4: married to it for thirty years, mate. But the thing
- 53:42Speaker 4: is I, for the sake of the story, this worked. Yeah,
- 53:45Speaker 4: Home is fully justified to be worried and concerned.
- 53:49Speaker 5: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 53:50Speaker 4: I guess he's never I guess he's never seen this
- 53:51Speaker 4: side of March before because she's never had the chance
- 53:54Speaker 4: to have the wedding she's always wanted.
- 53:57Speaker 5: I'm guessing it must have no aspects of this personality
- 54:02Speaker 5: or the side of Marge must have come up during
- 54:04Speaker 5: the previous twenty season. But yeah, maybe not.
- 54:06Speaker 4: They had a rape joke. Remember they had a rape
- 54:09Speaker 4: joke on The Simpsons when Marge was working out and
- 54:12Speaker 4: Homer she didn't want to sleep with her. She was like, no,
- 54:15Speaker 4: we're going to do it.
- 54:16Speaker 5: The sipset a rape joke. We just got demanitate.
- 54:21Speaker 4: Yeah exactly. But then Marge, she's getting ready, she wants
- 54:24Speaker 4: to look at herself in the mirror. She has a
- 54:26Speaker 4: pimp bullsh she makes the people disappeared.
- 54:28Speaker 5: Where did we see in which episode we see a
- 54:31Speaker 5: similar joke recently? And then involved home? It was home?
- 54:34Speaker 4: You got something on his next through stress or something,
- 54:37Speaker 4: and he pushed it back in.
- 54:38Speaker 5: Yes. Yeah, he basically healed himself through sheer force and
- 54:42Speaker 5: was like, I can't have this happening right now. Yeah, yeah,
- 54:45Speaker 5: same thing.
- 54:46Speaker 4: Then cue everyone que this queue that released the groom,
- 54:50Speaker 4: not even like released the Marge's in full control of
- 54:53Speaker 4: this wedding and he's not there now there are eleven
- 54:55Speaker 4: seconds behind. She goes to see him and braid him,
- 54:57Speaker 4: but he's not in the room anymore, and immediately she
- 54:58Speaker 4: just breaks down cries.
- 55:00Speaker 5: Magge.
- 55:00Speaker 4: Hears it on the walkie talkie, so she gets the
- 55:02Speaker 4: band who play when the Sands go marching in instead them, Cookie,
- 55:05Speaker 4: Kwan and Mandula are trying to comfort March and it's
- 55:08Speaker 4: just nothing's working in Gary's magic moments. No refund, so
- 55:11Speaker 4: he's gonna be filming him other way, and Homer wakes
- 55:14Speaker 4: up chained up, like a bicycle, as you said, like
- 55:16Speaker 4: a common bicycle, a common bicycle. But then this is
- 55:18Speaker 4: where the Saw parody begins. And I actually, as we
- 55:21Speaker 4: were saying, thought I did a really good job. I've
- 55:23Speaker 4: taken taking the mickey but parody saw, but using it
- 55:26Speaker 4: in a way that wasn't really horror.
- 55:28Speaker 5: That's true. Yeah, yeah, I mean you're right, and this
- 55:31Speaker 5: would have been It would have fit very snugly into
- 55:34Speaker 5: a Treehouse of Horror episode. The whole I mean, the
- 55:37Speaker 5: Saw franchise or the Saw concept is one that kind
- 55:40Speaker 5: of lends itself to easy parody.
- 55:43Speaker 4: And I think Patty and Summer would have made a
- 55:44Speaker 4: good jigsaw in tres horror segment row.
- 55:46Speaker 5: Oh yeah, yeah, but no, as I said before, I
- 55:51Speaker 5: think they folded the whole Saw thing, the whole not
- 55:54Speaker 5: necessarious escape room, but you know, torture room aspect into it. Yeah,
- 55:58Speaker 5: very very smoothly.
- 56:01Speaker 2: What just chained up like a common bicycle. Who would
- 56:06Speaker 2: do this to me? It would have to be someone
- 56:10Speaker 2: who could afford a chain.
- 56:12Speaker 5: You're going to be here a while, but I have
- 56:15Speaker 5: to marry Marge. As of now, your pathetic little life
- 56:19Speaker 5: means nothing.
- 56:20Speaker 2: Just so you know, you're making a pretty bad first impression.
- 56:24Speaker 4: And this is where Marge she is saying that she's
- 56:26Speaker 4: blaming herself, saying, it's all my fault.
- 56:27Speaker 5: Home.
- 56:27Speaker 4: I wanted to use cocktail hot dogs. I want to
- 56:29Speaker 4: spring rolls. They taste like nothing. I'm going I like
- 56:33Speaker 4: spring rolls, but I do need to leather that shit
- 56:35Speaker 4: in like soy sauces.
- 56:36Speaker 5: Oh yeah, you need to have your dipping sauce for it.
- 56:38Speaker 4: Just like pastry, isn't it essentially for the moment. That's
- 56:41Speaker 4: true unless you go to there's a place called long
- 56:43Speaker 4: Time Geelong. You go to a proper type place. They
- 56:45Speaker 4: do the way mummy used to make.
- 56:47Speaker 5: Them spring Whose mummy you're talking about that?
- 56:51Speaker 4: Yeah, but just not the not the ones out of
- 56:52Speaker 4: the freezer and you wool worse or what?
- 56:54Speaker 5: No? No, no, they are very very bland, She says you.
- 56:56Speaker 4: I tried to go too serious and homer less me
- 56:59Speaker 4: as a result in this, says he doesn't feel like daddy.
- 57:01Speaker 4: He would never leave it. I think an open bar
- 57:03Speaker 4: for chicken wings or something like that. Plus he loves this,
- 57:05Speaker 4: and YadA yad yadaya. Then they find the key chain
- 57:07Speaker 4: that has s B and I said, what could this be.
- 57:10Speaker 4: It's like a whould mister Burns kind of thing with
- 57:12Speaker 4: the M and the B and I think it's immediately
- 57:14Speaker 4: side show Bob, which would be a good it's a
- 57:16Speaker 4: natural guest conclusion that comes to. Yeah. And but this
- 57:19Speaker 4: is the whole back to the Future parody.
- 57:21Speaker 5: They get married, I'll never be borne.
- 57:23Speaker 4: Then we have wise Guy delivering some wedding registry items
- 57:26Speaker 4: to Miss Simpson. Now he'd love to chat, but the
- 57:29Speaker 4: company interesting nuance company forbids chit chat, and Homer is
- 57:35Speaker 4: given the key to unlock the chain, but unfortunately in
- 57:37Speaker 4: the middle of a lollipop that is made out of
- 57:39Speaker 4: hot sauce.
- 57:40Speaker 5: Well initially a lollipop easily. Yeah.
- 57:44Speaker 4: Then the kids find Bob. They see him through the
- 57:47Speaker 4: window and looks like he's being side showed.
- 57:49Speaker 5: Bob.
- 57:49Speaker 4: He's actually making a bust of Krusty. Him and Crusty
- 57:51Speaker 4: just hanging out. They're just hanging out Krusty and they've
- 57:55Speaker 4: got a history.
- 57:55Speaker 5: By guns and by guns apparently.
- 57:57Speaker 8: But did you.
- 57:58Speaker 1: Take any breaks?
- 57:59Speaker 8: Yesterday?
- 58:00Speaker 5: We nap our dad. Impossible.
- 58:02Speaker 6: I was with Bob the whole day. Then we watched
- 58:04Speaker 6: the deluxe DVD of the House of Sand and Fog
- 58:07Speaker 6: good night. We slept in the same bed for warmth.
- 58:09Speaker 6: Then we woke up and a little niche watched The
- 58:12Speaker 6: House of Sand and Fog again with commentary.
- 58:14Speaker 5: The director was an ass.
- 58:16Speaker 4: I liked the idea of watching the movie and then
- 58:18Speaker 4: watching again with commentary. Oh yeah, well, however did you
- 58:20Speaker 4: do the help? Did you watch a film that you
- 58:22Speaker 4: just purchase and then go back to the start straight
- 58:24Speaker 4: away and watch it with commentary, or did you buy
- 58:26Speaker 4: films you've seen them so many times you watch commentary first.
- 58:29Speaker 5: But it's it's a bit of everything. Really. Yeah. Sometimes
- 58:32Speaker 5: we're like, oh, this has got the commentary with so
- 58:34Speaker 5: and someone. Yeah, that's the first thing you put on.
- 58:36Speaker 5: And there are certain things, was like, I really should
- 58:38Speaker 5: watch this with the commentary, Like, you know, I haven't
- 58:40Speaker 5: seen It's been like twenty five years since all the
- 58:42Speaker 5: Lord of the Rings movies came out, and I've got,
- 58:45Speaker 5: of course, got the deluxe sets the I've got all
- 58:46Speaker 5: the commentary of them because they are loaded. It's like
- 58:48Speaker 5: forty commentaries, very much so, and like, okay, do I
- 58:52Speaker 5: have another three hours this time with the Hobbits? Yeah?
- 58:57Speaker 5: Maybe no, there's still something I haven't saying but no, absolutely,
- 59:01Speaker 5: there's something that I'm just like, oh, commentary versus I'm
- 59:04Speaker 5: doing now.
- 59:05Speaker 4: He listed three people here that it could have been.
- 59:07Speaker 4: Could be Scott Bo, the Sultan of Brunei.
- 59:09Speaker 5: Yes, and uh, well, don't ask to be pronounced it,
- 59:12Speaker 5: but it's like the Polish Secret Police or something. Yeah,
- 59:16Speaker 5: I'm not going to pronounce it, but you get the picture.
- 59:22Speaker 5: Polish friends out there, please let us know what the
- 59:24Speaker 5: correct pronunciation is.
- 59:25Speaker 4: Maybe I'll play Bob doing it right now.
- 59:27Speaker 5: Nice of you to think of me.
- 59:28Speaker 10: However, SB could be anyone, Scott Bo, the Sultan of Brunei, the.
- 59:33Speaker 5: Former Polish Secret Police, the Schwartz by Bestridspa And there
- 59:37Speaker 5: we go.
- 59:37Speaker 4: That's how you say it. Well, that's Kelsey Cromenos how
- 59:40Speaker 4: to say it.
- 59:40Speaker 5: And that's what I was saying in my head. Yeah,
- 59:43Speaker 5: just you know, I had a little trouble getting it out.
- 59:45Speaker 4: But very many times are you saying things in your
- 59:47Speaker 4: in your head are sounding good when it comes out?
- 59:48Speaker 4: You go, that's not what my brain was supposed to do.
- 59:51Speaker 5: That's pretty much every episode of this podcast.
- 59:52Speaker 4: And that's that's just my marriage. I'm like, oh, I
- 59:56Speaker 4: meant to say this, Whe's the boy, oh boy. So
- 59:58Speaker 4: then he says it can I will be only one person.
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: We cut to Sady, Saddy, Saddy and Palmer, Salma and
- 1:00:04Speaker 4: Paddy watching Homer on the TV in the d m
- 1:00:06Speaker 4: V and wait till he finds the keys and the
- 1:00:09Speaker 4: key it's just hot a sauce, And then we get
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: the screensaver. This you could make this joke anymore because
- 1:00:13Speaker 4: we don't have screensavers anymore. No, really no, but the
- 1:00:15Speaker 4: pipes with the pipes, Oh yeah, it takes me. I
- 1:00:19Speaker 4: saw a recent video. It might be an old video, right,
- 1:00:22Speaker 4: but it was like a costume party, and the costume
- 1:00:25Speaker 4: was the DVD screensaver and guys were the TV and
- 1:00:31Speaker 4: she was a little DVD and she was trying to
- 1:00:33Speaker 4: get into the corner.
- 1:00:35Speaker 5: Yeah, and then the crowds like watching hits the corner.
- 1:00:38Speaker 4: It's like have you seen the memes where they have
- 1:00:40Speaker 4: a crowd watching It's like in a bar or something
- 1:00:42Speaker 4: and something on the TV and then the crowd goes
- 1:00:44Speaker 4: ship there's one of the DVD hitting the corner back on.
- 1:00:47Speaker 5: The That is my life. That's one of my favorite memes.
- 1:00:51Speaker 5: I love that one so good.
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: Yeah, just how many times did I sit there, just
- 1:00:56Speaker 4: watching that thing, going, it's going to hit eventually, eventually,
- 1:00:59Speaker 4: because I always sort of never would, but sometimes it
- 1:01:01Speaker 4: did hit right in the corner.
- 1:01:02Speaker 5: Yeah. Good times.
- 1:01:04Speaker 4: Kids are now listening, going, I have no idea what
- 1:01:06Speaker 4: a screensaver is and what you're talking about.
- 1:01:07Speaker 5: What's the DVD?
- 1:01:09Speaker 4: But anyway, the guys, the ladies have Homer traptors revealed
- 1:01:12Speaker 4: here it's Paddy and Samma or or Saddie and Power.
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: Homer then says, but that's you. This is a prank.
- 1:01:19Speaker 4: Then good job, very good. Yeah, and they start feeling
- 1:01:21Speaker 4: bad for him. But then they said they're not gonna
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: let him go till March's dumped Homer for good. They
- 1:01:25Speaker 4: want to have some fun with him with some fire ants.
- 1:01:27Speaker 4: He's like, that doesn't sound like fun. Oh you mean sarcastic.
- 1:01:30Speaker 4: They make another sarcastic joke, and they really starting to
- 1:01:32Speaker 4: feel bad about what they're doing here. This is where
- 1:01:34Speaker 4: Homer stands up and reads out his wedding vows. And
- 1:01:36Speaker 4: I was gonna play the clip because it's just this
- 1:01:37Speaker 4: is really nice.
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: Just see that my fiance March gets this.
- 1:01:42Speaker 5: My wedding votes right.
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: I hope this day is as perfect for you as
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: the day we met was for me. You always find
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: the one grain of sugar and the salts Jaker. That
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: is I. With each marriage, I get a little better.
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: Maybe after a thousand, I'll be worthy of you.
- 1:01:59Speaker 5: I you.
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: I missed the kids, God help me. I even missed
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: your sister.
- 1:02:10Speaker 8: Oh God, he loves her so much.
- 1:02:14Speaker 4: We must come at everything there, didn't he very sweet?
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: He missus, Marge, missus, the kids. You missus, the sisters.
- 1:02:19Speaker 5: Yeah, just had a great life.
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: And they say, poor guy loves her so much. And
- 1:02:24Speaker 4: then Poo says, I've been waiting forty five minutes. They
- 1:02:25Speaker 4: close on him, so he says, you have to shop
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: at a much nicer, newer store across the street. I
- 1:02:30Speaker 4: always thought that I never saw the Quickie Matter as
- 1:02:32Speaker 4: a franchise. I always saw the Quickie Matter as just
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: a store that who opened. I know it's meant to
- 1:02:36Speaker 4: be seven to eleven, But I never saw the Quickie
- 1:02:38Speaker 4: Mat as, oh, there's a Quickie mart In. But I
- 1:02:40Speaker 4: think there is a Quickie mart In shabby.
- 1:02:42Speaker 5: Field think so, Yeah. No, I always view it as
- 1:02:44Speaker 5: like franchise. Yeah he's a franchise.
- 1:02:48Speaker 4: I guess he is the franchise because he goes to
- 1:02:50Speaker 4: the Quickie My headquarters, doesn't he?
- 1:02:52Speaker 5: Silly Dando, you have three questions. You really the head
- 1:02:56Speaker 5: of the Quickie mart? You really was?
- 1:03:02Speaker 8: He?
- 1:03:02Speaker 5: Really the head of the Quickimark.

- 1:03:35Speaker 4: he's back home now. He stood at the chain tier
- 1:03:36Speaker 4: around his ankle. He says that he was just fall
- 1:03:39Speaker 4: off Button's one yeah, but two sobbing trolls threw him
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: out of a van onto the front. Law and Marge
- 1:03:43Speaker 4: has missed his nonsense, and Patty and somewhere cut to them.
- 1:03:46Speaker 4: They're throwing away all their evidence so they can't can't
- 1:03:48Speaker 4: get back to them, but Bart and Lisa are listening
- 1:03:50Speaker 4: at the door now over here, and they say, well,
- 1:03:52Speaker 4: there's only one thing you can do to fix this
- 1:03:54Speaker 4: unless we tell other Lott'll tell mom and dad. We'll
- 1:03:56Speaker 4: make you some cookies. No, no, we'll have cookies later.
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: It turns out what they want is for them to
- 1:04:01Speaker 4: make the part.
- 1:04:01Speaker 5: Make the wedding for and groll the wedding essentially because
- 1:04:03Speaker 5: Margin Homer. They officially marry at the registry. I guess
- 1:04:06Speaker 5: whatever it is something basic, and she says, you don't
- 1:04:08Speaker 5: need to have a fancy wedding when you're marrying the
- 1:04:10Speaker 5: man that you love. And then they go outside and
- 1:04:12Speaker 5: cute her getting exactly everything she wanted when it comes
- 1:04:15Speaker 5: to a wedding. Everyone's out there nice as I sculpture.
- 1:04:17Speaker 5: Everyone's having a good time. Patty and someone empty their
- 1:04:19Speaker 5: four o one ks in order to make this happen,
- 1:04:21Speaker 5: and Home even got his rocket cake. He did. Yeah.
- 1:04:24Speaker 4: They even went out through Homer as well, and Margin
- 1:04:27Speaker 4: gonto Blue Rose Blue Rose as well due to frantic
- 1:04:29Speaker 4: genetic engineering. Know you're a plant now and they pan
- 1:04:32Speaker 4: out and that is the end of the episode. Happy
- 1:04:34Speaker 4: Fourth Wedding says on the blimp, and yeah, a fine episode.
- 1:04:37Speaker 4: It is not a I wouldn't call this a funny episode.
- 1:04:40Speaker 4: It has funny moments, this isn't laugh out loud funny.
- 1:04:43Speaker 4: But as we'll say with Springfield Connection, you don't have
- 1:04:46Speaker 4: to always necessarily be funny, funny, funny, funny funny, as
- 1:04:49Speaker 4: long as they're a good emotional story there. Sure, I
- 1:04:51Speaker 4: think there was a solid story here that was driven
- 1:04:55Speaker 4: by emotion with enough laugh for me to go this
- 1:04:58Speaker 4: was a good episode, I think so.
- 1:05:00Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:05:00Speaker 4: Yeah, I was not going with very good expectations based
- 1:05:02Speaker 4: on the blurb. Maybe that helped.
- 1:05:04Speaker 5: I don't know that. I think that's definitely the case.
- 1:05:08Speaker 5: You walk in thinking, oh my god, more of the same,
- 1:05:10Speaker 5: and it turns out to me, no, no, you threw
- 1:05:12Speaker 5: a few curve balls in there, and we appreciated it.
- 1:05:14Speaker 4: Yeah, it was good. It was just it wasn't Homer
- 1:05:16Speaker 4: screwing up this time. No, they didn't get a divorce
- 1:05:19Speaker 4: because Homer screwed up. It was something else happened, and
- 1:05:21Speaker 4: Homer was doing all he can to make sure Marge
- 1:05:23Speaker 4: got everything that she wanted right to the end. And
- 1:05:25Speaker 4: you're waiting for you Hova.
- 1:05:26Speaker 5: To screw up. He never did.
- 1:05:28Speaker 8: No.
- 1:05:29Speaker 5: I mean, he's generally you know, he's generally a wife
- 1:05:31Speaker 5: guy our boys. So he did all right this time around.
- 1:05:34Speaker 5: Now a little bit of fun fact from pals at Wikipedia.
- 1:05:38Speaker 5: Let me just read this out the beatum. The June
- 1:05:41Speaker 5: twenty eight to two thousand and nine rerun of the
- 1:05:43Speaker 5: episode featured a brief alternate opening following the death of
- 1:05:46Speaker 5: Michael Jackson three days prior. On June twenty five, the
- 1:05:49Speaker 5: music video for Do the Bartman was shown, followed by
- 1:05:51Speaker 5: a title card stating in memory of Michael Jackson, showing
- 1:05:54Speaker 5: a still of his appearance as Leon Kompowski, the big
- 1:05:57Speaker 5: bald mental patient who was put in the Insane Asylum
- 1:05:59Speaker 5: for believing he really was Michael Jackson.
- 1:06:01Speaker 4: He no longer exists.
- 1:06:03Speaker 5: He's been a memory home from the episode Stark Raving Dad,
- 1:06:05Speaker 5: which of course does not exist. But anyway, that's something
- 1:06:09Speaker 5: that we thought that you should know.
- 1:06:11Speaker 4: Yeah, back when Michael Jackson or Lincoln Paski was still alive,
- 1:06:15Speaker 4: it still existence.
- 1:06:17Speaker 5: Supposed to just a figment of everyone's imagination. Yeah, what
- 1:06:21Speaker 5: do we learn bomb.
- 1:06:22Speaker 4: What did you learn from the episode? Mister Davis?
- 1:06:24Speaker 5: What did I learn that through sheer force of will.
- 1:06:26Speaker 5: I can make a pimple just disappear back into my skin,
- 1:06:29Speaker 5: can you? No? I never, I just tend to get
- 1:06:32Speaker 5: more popping out.
- 1:06:33Speaker 4: I learned that Michigan City is the home of our
- 1:06:35Speaker 4: spiritual headquarters, the world Spiritual Headquarters.
- 1:06:38Speaker 5: Let's do a pilgrimage. Yes, let's do it.
- 1:06:40Speaker 9: From miss day forward, your names will be all right.
- 1:06:43Speaker 4: It is time for the Guy Davis New Name Championship.
- 1:06:46Speaker 4: Here for season twenty of the show. The current leaderboard
- 1:06:50Speaker 4: stands at this In first position, we have Jared Hornby
- 1:06:53Speaker 4: on seventeen points. In second position we have Phil Hawkins
- 1:06:56Speaker 4: on fifteen points, and in the third position we have
- 1:06:59Speaker 4: Brian Hughes. Hughes on eleven points.
- 1:07:01Speaker 5: Take it away, Let's see how we go here. One
- 1:07:04Speaker 5: point to disavowed. That is Hughsy He's gonna have the point.
- 1:07:09Speaker 5: He's now on twelve. Still in third position, what unhusy
- 1:07:13Speaker 5: two points for escape groom. Oh it's Philip jay Hawkins.
- 1:07:18Speaker 5: He's now equal first to the two points Jared. He
- 1:07:21Speaker 5: got you yeared two points, said Philip jay Hawks back
- 1:07:24Speaker 5: in first position, having said that, we're still got to
- 1:07:26Speaker 5: hand out three points.
- 1:07:27Speaker 7: We do, yes, and who gave us Say Yes to Distress?
- 1:07:32Speaker 7: What's that a take off of there's a show called
- 1:07:35Speaker 7: Say Yes to the Dress? Oh yes, the Distress.
- 1:07:38Speaker 5: Indeed, that is revolving around wedding dresses. Ar got the
- 1:07:44Speaker 5: three points? Can you believe that the top three people
- 1:07:46Speaker 5: got the points this week? Say say the line guy,
- 1:07:50Speaker 5: the guy Dave his new name Championship Slash Challenge. It's blind.
- 1:07:54Speaker 5: I'm not looking at names. I'm not looking at the
- 1:07:57Speaker 5: names of the people who have contributed a new name.
- 1:08:00Speaker 4: I'm pacing a notepad without the names.
- 1:08:02Speaker 5: I'm just looking at the names that are being given
- 1:08:04Speaker 5: to the episode. And well, you have people like Phil
- 1:08:09Speaker 5: Hawkins and his name is Jared and hugh'sy all giving
- 1:08:13Speaker 5: us gold, you know, week after week, episode alfter episodes.
- 1:08:17Speaker 5: So Philip Jay is feuman he had it back there
- 1:08:20Speaker 5: for a second, but noop net anymore. So now we
- 1:08:23Speaker 5: have Jared Hornby on twenty points, Phil Horgans back to
- 1:08:26Speaker 5: being Phil Horgans for another week at least on seventeen points,
- 1:08:30Speaker 5: and Brian hughesy Hughes still in third on twelve points.
- 1:08:32Speaker 5: Oh about that? How about that?
- 1:08:34Speaker 4: Indeed, by the way, guys, if you think I've been
- 1:08:36Speaker 4: a little bit quite in the Patreon group for last
- 1:08:39Speaker 4: couple of last week or so. Here's why. So we
- 1:08:42Speaker 4: finally got our page back. You know, I've mentioned on
- 1:08:44Speaker 4: the show here that the page got basically not suspended,
- 1:08:47Speaker 4: but just they killed the page. They killed the organic reach.
- 1:08:49Speaker 4: They said that we were I put up a post.
- 1:08:51Speaker 4: It was a meme of Ralph Wigham, and they deemed
- 1:08:54Speaker 4: it as child's sexual exploitation. That was what the algorithm
- 1:08:57Speaker 4: deemed it as. And because it was such a heinous
- 1:09:00Speaker 4: crime to commit, they just demonetized and just whenever I
- 1:09:04Speaker 4: put a post up it reached like fifty people, and
- 1:09:06Speaker 4: we have like three hundred and twenty thousand followers. So
- 1:09:08Speaker 4: they ruined the page. And then one day they went,
- 1:09:10Speaker 4: my bad.
- 1:09:11Speaker 5: Have you paged back?
- 1:09:11Speaker 4: And I was like, oh great, finally whatever, not getting
- 1:09:15Speaker 4: any money back, but the pages back twelve hours later.
- 1:09:20Speaker 4: I was once an admin of a page called Simpsons
- 1:09:22Speaker 4: Quotes that nobody knows anymore gets any more or something.
- 1:09:25Speaker 4: For some reason, that page got suspended, it got taken down,
- 1:09:28Speaker 4: and because I was still an admin of that page,
- 1:09:30Speaker 4: I now can't post in groups or on pages. So
- 1:09:32Speaker 4: I've got the page back, but I can't post anything.
- 1:09:34Speaker 4: I can't post in the group. I can't do anything.
- 1:09:37Speaker 4: So thankfully Nikola is an admin of the fort figure
- 1:09:40Speaker 4: deescamp page. I'm like logging into her phone and posting
- 1:09:42Speaker 4: stuff when i can, but man, man, it just hates me.
- 1:09:47Speaker 5: Nothing goes right for me. The algorithm has just taken over, honestly.
- 1:09:51Speaker 4: So that is why I've been posting much in the
- 1:09:53Speaker 4: group because I'm not allowed to until June. I think
- 1:09:55Speaker 4: it's eleventh or something whatever soon, And I'm just lazy
- 1:09:59Speaker 4: and you're just lazy. Yes, but thank you to everyone
