- 1:24Speaker 9: To your sentinels, we have a movie meltdown.
- 1:27Speaker 4: Never leave any survivors. No survivors?
- 1:31Speaker 10: Then where do the stories come from, I wonder?
- 1:42Speaker 3: What's up, and welcome to Movie Meltdown. I am Brian.
- 1:44Speaker 11: I am Misty.
- 1:45Speaker 4: Ah, I forgot my name. What's my name?
- 1:48Speaker 11: Boyfriend.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Boyfriend.
- 1:50Speaker 4: I'm Jay.
- 1:51Speaker 11: Hey.
- 1:53Speaker 6: Oh, Lord, with that, yeah, we might have to reintroduce
- 1:58Speaker 6: you guys.
- 2:01Speaker 3: I was talking to somebody earlier.
- 2:03Speaker 6: Again, we are coming to you live via digital recording
- 2:05Speaker 6: from Wonderfest, and we're at our table here, and I
- 2:09Speaker 6: was talking to somebody, and he was.
- 2:10Speaker 3: Like, hey, is anybody else from the show here? And
- 2:12Speaker 3: I was like, well... how far back do you go
- 2:15Speaker 3: on your movie meltdown listening?
- 2:18Speaker 6: Because, yeah, and I said you guys, and he wasn't
- 2:21Speaker 6: familiar with me. So, again, I think we've picked up
- 2:23Speaker 6: a good amount of people in the last, like, six
- 2:26Speaker 6: months or so.
- 2:26Speaker 11: Probably because they haven't had to listen to us before.
- 2:28Speaker 6: We may not be familiar with you, so we might
- 2:32Speaker 6: have to reintroduce you to the new people.
- 2:34Speaker 11: We might scare off your new listeners.
- 2:36Speaker 3: No, probably.
- 2:38Speaker 12: Well, maybe.
- 2:38Speaker 6: But, anyway, yeah, this is Misty and Jay, who have...
- 2:43Speaker 6: Pretty much been here since the beginning. Misty was there
- 2:45Speaker 6: the first episode. Jay, you were just busy the first couple,
- 2:48Speaker 6: but you've been here since episode five.
- 2:51Speaker 4: I got roped in.
- 2:51Speaker 3: You're original members.
- 2:53Speaker 4: Ooh, I'm an original member.
- 2:55Speaker 3: I feel cool.
- 2:56Speaker 12: You should. I am.
- 2:58Speaker 11: We're old school. I feel old.
- 3:01Speaker 3: That's true.
- 3:02Speaker 6: So our geek activities this week, I figured I would
- 3:06Speaker 6: give you guys to tell people what you've been up
- 3:08Speaker 6: to the last five or six months.
- 3:11Speaker 11: It's only been about a month and a half.
- 3:13Speaker 4: For you.
- 3:14Speaker 10: Huh?
- 3:15Speaker 12: For you.
- 3:16Speaker 11: Maybe it has been a while.
- 3:17Speaker 12: It's been a long time.
- 3:18Speaker 4: The last show I've been on was.
- 3:19Speaker 3: It's been Christmas for both of.
- 3:20Speaker 13: You, I believe.
- 3:21Speaker 11: Oh, yeah, that has been several months ago.
- 3:22Speaker 3: Wait, when was the Christmas show?
- 3:23Speaker 5: December?
- 3:24Speaker 3: December?
- 3:25Speaker 10: No, no.
- 3:26Speaker 4: What was the Christmas show?
- 3:27Speaker 11: Black Christmas.
- 3:28Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 3:29Speaker 8: Okay, yeah.
- 3:30Speaker 4: I've been working a lot.
- 3:31Speaker 3: I believe that was the last time you guys were around.
- 3:34Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 3:35Speaker 13: Oh, yeah.
- 3:36Speaker 11: My bad.
- 3:37Speaker 3: If you'd like.
- 3:37Speaker 6: To fill them in, I believe there's been a few
- 3:40Speaker 6: developments in your life since then. Not really movie related,
- 3:43Speaker 6: but they're interesting enough.
- 3:45Speaker 3: I thought we could pass them along.
- 3:46Speaker 11: Well, if you're friends with us on Facebook, you'll have
- 3:48Speaker 11: already been aware of the situation. But if you're not.
- 3:51Speaker 4: My friend's a serial killer.
- 3:52Speaker 14: Yay!
- 3:53Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 3:54Speaker 4: Or neighbor.
- 3:56Speaker 11: He bought our grass.
- 3:57Speaker 4: Two houses down from us turned out to be a
- 3:59Speaker 4: serial killer.
- 4:01Speaker 3: No joke.
- 4:02Speaker 6: That's all they talk about on our local news. Every
- 4:04Speaker 6: night is this guy who lives across the street from them. And, yeah,
- 4:09Speaker 6: he's not a nice guy.
- 4:11Speaker 11: Actually, he was a really nice guy. That's what makes
- 4:13Speaker 11: it so weird.
- 4:14Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, he was uber nice. Like, and not even
- 4:17Speaker 4: in a super creepy way, like you thought something was up.
- 4:20Speaker 4: It was just, you know, I don't know. I'm still
- 4:26Speaker 4: having a hard time, you know, grasping the whole thing.
- 4:30Speaker 4: I mean, this guy hung out in the garage with
- 4:31Speaker 4: me and mowed our yard just about every week. And,
- 4:37Speaker 4: you know, it's one of those things. We just saw him.
- 4:39Speaker 4: He was putting around on his little motorized bike around
- 4:43Speaker 4: the neighborhood and, you know, never would have thought he
- 4:47Speaker 4: was in the backyard. burying somebody about the time i
- 4:51Speaker 4: was going to work you.
- 4:52Speaker 6: Know no joke they dug one out of the backyard
- 4:55Speaker 6: yeah at least one at least one so.
- 4:58Speaker 11: They're still searching for more bodies apparently he's confessed to
- 5:01Speaker 11: quite a few they've only found three so far yeah
- 5:05Speaker 11: good times.
- 5:06Speaker 6: Still yeah well i think we decided counts as serial
- 5:09Speaker 6: killers Especially for as many.
- 5:11Speaker 3: As he claims that he's dumped in the river.
- 5:13Speaker 4: Yeah, three's the official number.
- 5:14Speaker 11: If it's more than three over like a month's time,
- 5:17Speaker 11: then it officially falls under the status of serial killer.
- 5:21Speaker 4: Yeah, I think they were holding off just to kind
- 5:23Speaker 4: of keep the FBI at bay. The FBI had been
- 5:25Speaker 4: brought in, but.
- 5:27Speaker 11: They brought in a behavioral analysis.
- 5:29Speaker 4: Yeah, and they were just, we're just here advising on
- 5:33Speaker 4: the situation, which.
- 5:35Speaker 4: If you mean by advising taking over the entire situation,
- 5:38Speaker 4: which is pretty much what it looked like to me
- 5:40Speaker 4: when I was looking out the window.
- 5:41Speaker 3: That's usually what they do.
- 5:42Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 5:43Speaker 4: I saw FBI and a couple deputies, all the... All
- 5:47Speaker 4: the detectives that we saw that were originally working the
- 5:50Speaker 4: case when it first broke, they were all gone.
- 5:52Speaker 11: We keep hoping they find more, and I know that sounds.
- 5:55Speaker 13: Bad, but.
- 5:56Speaker 4: Well, you've got to think of it in a version
- 5:58Speaker 4: of closure. I mean, there's a lot of missing people.
- 6:01Speaker 12: That's true.
- 6:02Speaker 11: And a lot of them claim as admitted to doing.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:06Speaker 11: Either he's been really good at hiding the bodies or
- 6:09Speaker 11: the New Albany police just really sucks.
- 6:11Speaker 4: Well, no, he's been really, really good at covering his tracks.
- 6:15Speaker 4: And it's one of those things like if his sister
- 6:17Speaker 4: hadn't come home, or not come home, if she hadn't
- 6:21Speaker 4: came over to the house, I think she was coming
- 6:23Speaker 4: over to get some things.
- 6:24Speaker 11: She was coming over to get the VIN number off
- 6:26Speaker 11: the car.
- 6:27Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, she was coming over to get the VIN
- 6:28Speaker 4: number off the car and stumbled into the garage where
- 6:31Speaker 4: he had just recently butchered one of her cars. One
- 6:34Speaker 4: of their lifelong. Their mother's best friend. Yeah, their mother's
- 6:36Speaker 4: best friend. So about that time she was coming out
- 6:39Speaker 4: of the house, I came over there trying to figure
- 6:41Speaker 4: out why he hadn't mowed my yard in three weeks.
- 6:45Speaker 11: Killing people takes work.
- 6:46Speaker 4: Yeah, apparently it does. He's a busy, busy man. Well,
- 6:50Speaker 4: he needs to make some time to mow my yard,
- 6:52Speaker 4: you know.
- 6:52Speaker 11: I'm kind of pissed because he should have waited until
- 6:54Speaker 11: after he cut our trees and bushes down.
- 6:56Speaker 4: Yeah, he's still got trees and yard work to do.
- 6:58Speaker 4: I mean, he's not got time for death row.
- 7:01Speaker 11: Which they are seeking the death penalty.
- 7:03Speaker 3: You should see if you can get some sort of
- 7:04Speaker 3: work release program now.
- 7:06Speaker 4: That's what I'm going to see.
- 7:07Speaker 3: I'm going to see.
- 7:07Speaker 4: Wait a minute. Before you guys put him to death,
- 7:09Speaker 4: can you get him to come out and cut my
- 7:10Speaker 4: tree down? Because we have a little bit of an
- 7:12Speaker 4: agreement here.
- 7:16Speaker 11: Our agreement supersedes any serial killer agenda he might have.
- 7:21Speaker 3: That's true. I think it should, anyway.
- 7:23Speaker 11: But yeah, his sister came home, found the body while
- 7:26Speaker 11: he was out at Walmart buying supplies. So apparently Walmart
- 7:29Speaker 11: is where you buy all your.
- 7:30Speaker 3: Where you get your trash bags and duct tape.
- 7:32Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly.
- 7:33Speaker 3: Take care of this thing. I know. I know how
- 7:34Speaker 3: it is.
- 7:35Speaker 11: Yeah, it gets more... There's more gruesomeness to it, but
- 7:38Speaker 11: I don't know if we should discuss it or not.
- 7:40Speaker 4: Eh, I don't know.
- 7:40Speaker 11: Because, yeah, apparently he mutilated the old lady, which sucks,
- 7:44Speaker 11: because that's just creepy.
- 7:45Speaker 4: Yeah, well, I mean, aside from doing dirty things to
- 7:50Speaker 4: the old lady and everybody else that he had killed this.
- 7:54Speaker 11: Is a super morbid-ish episode.
- 7:56Speaker 6: Of living on the island but it ties in I
- 7:59Speaker 6: mean he's got a very Norman Bates-y quality to him.
- 8:02Speaker 4: He does he was a serial killer rapist needle-ist I.
- 8:08Speaker 6: Don't know if Norman went down that road he just
- 8:10Speaker 6: killed people but you did say how did he refer
- 8:12Speaker 6: to his mother.
- 8:13Speaker 4: Mommy how old was this man about 55 I think.
- 8:17Speaker 6: Calling his mommy yeah that's some other issues right there yeah.
- 8:23Speaker 11: And they just recently released that on the very first
- 8:26Speaker 11: victim that he killed back in 2002, he got a
- 8:29Speaker 11: tattoo to commemorate the event. So that's pretty exciting.
- 8:32Speaker 4: Actually, I remember that tattoo, too. And I was like,
- 8:35Speaker 4: I saw the date on it, and I was thinking,
- 8:37Speaker 4: you know, Clyde's got a lot of cool jailhouse tattoos,
- 8:40Speaker 4: which is what I was thinking because he's been in
- 8:42Speaker 4: jail like several times.
- 8:42Speaker 11: He's got some really shitty jailhouse tattoos. He's got like.
- 8:45Speaker 4: Well, he's got some shitty ones.
- 8:46Speaker 11: He's got a Bugs Bunny on a motorcycle.
- 8:48Speaker 4: A Tasmanian devil.
- 8:49Speaker 7: Oh, God.
- 8:50Speaker 11: If he had a Tweety bird, he totally should have
- 8:52Speaker 11: saw us coming.
- 8:53Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 8:53Speaker 3: These are the only places you should get these guys.
- 8:55Speaker 11: He's got fuck off and eat shit on his palms
- 8:57Speaker 11: and his hands.
- 8:58Speaker 4: I know, it's fuck off and die.
- 9:00Speaker 13: Oh, was it?
- 9:00Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 9:00Speaker 4: I thought it was eat shit.
- 9:01Speaker 12: No, it wasn't.
- 9:02Speaker 4: I don't remember. Either way.
- 9:04Speaker 3: Either way, don't get that on your hands.
- 9:05Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 9:07Speaker 11: But anyways, we noticed a date on his arm.
- 9:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:09Speaker 11: And apparently that's the date that he killed his first victim.
- 9:12Speaker 4: Yeah. Which I thought maybe he had just shanked somebody
- 9:15Speaker 4: in the shower.
- 9:16Speaker 11: It's a tattoo of a knife, too.
- 9:18Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 9:18Speaker 3: It's a knife going through the date.
- 9:20Speaker 13: Yeah. Touching.
- 9:21Speaker 11: Which is apparently he stabbed the first girl in the neck.
- 9:24Speaker 4: Right down the street, actually.
- 9:27Speaker 11: Yeah, all the way down the street.
- 9:28Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 9:28Speaker 11: He dumped her body in the river.
- 9:30Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 9:31Speaker 4: Down by the river, because that's where you dump all
- 9:33Speaker 4: their bodies.
- 9:33Speaker 11: That's true. He's admitted to dumping a whole bunch of bodies.
- 9:38Speaker 11: They just haven't found them.
- 9:39Speaker 15: Well, yeah.
- 9:40Speaker 11: They might never find them.
- 9:40Speaker 4: That's the thing. You know. I mean, come on. That
- 9:43Speaker 4: was years ago.
- 9:44Speaker 13: I know.
- 9:44Speaker 11: It's like, I know there might be people he's confessed
- 9:46Speaker 11: to killing. I'll be disappointed if I found out he
- 9:48Speaker 11: lied to me.
- 9:49Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 9:49Speaker 11: Not to me personally, but if he lied in general.
- 9:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:51Speaker 8: I mean.
- 9:53Speaker 4: But the thing that got me was they're searching the
- 9:55Speaker 4: area right where he supposedly dumped them, but that was
- 9:59Speaker 4: several years ago.
- 9:59Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 10:00Speaker 11: On, man.
- 10:00Speaker 4: It's the river. It's got a pretty strong current.
- 10:04Speaker 6: I don't know if he seems professional enough to weigh
- 10:07Speaker 6: him down properly.
- 10:08Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 10:09Speaker 12: I don't know.
- 10:10Speaker 11: They did say that they found some suspicious rocks down
- 10:13Speaker 11: by the river.
- 10:14Speaker 12: Oh, goodness.
- 10:14Speaker 4: Suspicious rocks. They were looking at us crooked.
- 10:17Speaker 11: Yeah. But, yeah. So, they've been looking all over. They've
- 10:22Speaker 11: been looking at the river. They've been checking Bloomington. All
- 10:25Speaker 11: on different tips. So, I'm like, I guess either he's
- 10:28Speaker 11: really been good or they just suck because they haven't
- 10:30Speaker 11: found anything.
- 10:31Speaker 4: Well, he's been pretty good about covering his tracks. We
- 10:36Speaker 4: found out he worked for the.
- 10:38Speaker 11: tree trimmers for AT & T.
- 10:40Speaker 4: Tree trimmers for AT & T which pretty much took
- 10:42Speaker 4: him all over the state of Indiana so they said
- 10:45Speaker 4: a good excuse to.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Kill a lot of people in different.
- 10:48Speaker 4: Areas their search area was a 300 mile radius they.
- 10:52Speaker 11: Found evidence up to 800 miles away oh is it.
- 10:54Speaker 4: 800 miles okay 800 mile radius I'm sorry so he
- 10:58Speaker 4: got around a lot but I have one of his
- 11:00Speaker 4: tree spikes too and his welder and his welder you're
- 11:05Speaker 4: not getting back because you're on death.
- 11:06Speaker 11: Row so I would like our lawnmower back, though.
- 11:08Speaker 4: We're never going to get that. We already bought a
- 11:10Speaker 4: new lawnmower.
- 11:11Speaker 3: You kill three people, that's the price you pay.
- 11:12Speaker 11: But our lawnmower, the Clydehead, was self-propelled.
- 11:15Speaker 12: I know.
- 11:16Speaker 11: The new one's not.
- 11:16Speaker 4: No, it's me propelled.
- 11:18Speaker 3: I hate the self-propelled.
- 11:20Speaker 4: Oh, I love them.
- 11:20Speaker 3: They go too slow.
- 11:21Speaker 4: No, this one goes fast. This one flies.
- 11:25Speaker 6: Every time I've used them, I'm just like, I ain't
- 11:26Speaker 6: got time for this slow-ass motor built in you.
- 11:29Speaker 4: No, this one was a.
- 11:31Speaker 7: It would drag you.
- 11:31Speaker 4: Yeah, this one will drag you. It was pretty powerful.
- 11:33Speaker 3: It was an old.
- 11:34Speaker 4: Briggs & Stratton.
- 11:35Speaker 3: Might make it a little better.
- 11:37Speaker 4: But our neighbor Larry's like, you know, old man Larry,
- 11:40Speaker 4: he's old.
- 11:41Speaker 11: Oh, he had more gruesome details.
- 11:42Speaker 4: Yeah, he's like, you don't want that lawnmower back. It's
- 11:44Speaker 4: probably got guts and body parts splattered out. He probably
- 11:47Speaker 4: used it to kill her, you know.
- 11:50Speaker 3: Just finished watching Dead Alive, and he was just jamming bodies.
- 11:54Speaker 11: Old man Larry's made it even more gruesome than it
- 11:56Speaker 11: really is, and that's bad.
- 11:58Speaker 4: Yeah. That's pretty much been... a good majority of what
- 12:03Speaker 4: we've been doing.
- 12:04Speaker 11: Yeah, staring out the window, watching. Yeah, we haven't watched movies.
- 12:07Speaker 4: We haven't been watching the cops. We've been watching a
- 12:09Speaker 4: live movie.
- 12:10Speaker 9: That's true.
- 12:10Speaker 4: It's unfolding right out our living room window.
- 12:12Speaker 3: It's a thriller going on right outside your window.
- 12:14Speaker 11: We keep waiting to see how long it's on one
- 12:16Speaker 11: of those, until it's on like Forensic Files. But it's
- 12:19Speaker 11: like the opposite of those shows because it's like they
- 12:22Speaker 11: catch this guy and then they find out he's a
- 12:24Speaker 11: serial killer and they're trying to find the bodies. Usually
- 12:26Speaker 11: it's they find all these bodies and they're trying to
- 12:28Speaker 11: piece it back together.
- 12:30Speaker 4: I mean, they caught him and then he confessed. And
- 12:32Speaker 4: then it was like, ooh, you know.
- 12:34Speaker 3: It's still pretty backwards, yeah.
- 12:36Speaker 11: But shit, you know, if his sister hadn't showed up,
- 12:38Speaker 11: who knows how long this would have been going on.
- 12:40Speaker 9: No. A long, long time.
- 12:42Speaker 4: And I would have showed up at his house when
- 12:44Speaker 4: he was getting home.
- 12:45Speaker 11: He did show up when he was digging the hole.
- 12:47Speaker 4: Yeah, I showed up when he was digging the hole, too. Backyard.
- 12:52Speaker 6: Oh, well, to counterbalance that grim story, you've had one
- 12:56Speaker 6: other development that's like the.
- 12:58Speaker 3: Most adorable thing I've ever seen and heard.
- 13:00Speaker 4: Oh, that's Misty's deal right there.
- 13:02Speaker 11: And it's your squirrel.
- 13:04Speaker 3: Well, it was your squirrel.
- 13:05Speaker 4: It was not mine. You stole them from me.
- 13:06Speaker 11: You had work and stuff. I commandeered the squirrel.
- 13:09Speaker 3: They have their own squirrel people.
- 13:11Speaker 11: He's not really ours. He's our friend. We don't own him.
- 13:14Speaker 11: He's not our pet.
- 13:15Speaker 4: We're friends with serial killers and squirrels. We love everybody.
- 13:18Speaker 3: That's how you live.
- 13:20Speaker 11: Well, that's why about two months ago, I was getting
- 13:23Speaker 11: ready to leave the house, and you look at the
- 13:25Speaker 11: door and you're like, What the hell is that? Is
- 13:27Speaker 11: that a bird?
- 13:28Speaker 7: No.
- 13:29Speaker 4: I didn't say it was a bird.
- 13:30Speaker 11: You did say it was a bird.
- 13:31Speaker 4: I didn't say it was a bird.
- 13:33Speaker 3: She just likes doing funny voices.
- 13:35Speaker 12: I know.
- 13:37Speaker 11: That's almost my Walmart voice right there.
- 13:39Speaker 4: Yeah, I know.
- 13:41Speaker 3: You better hope you're not turning into that.
- 13:43Speaker 4: No, I know I'm not.
- 13:44Speaker 11: Well, anyways, it was a tiny little squirrel. We figured
- 13:46Speaker 11: he was probably, what, about five weeks old, assuming.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:50Speaker 11: So we kind of, wait, wait. Jay took care of him,
- 13:53Speaker 11: and we fed him, and helped him grow up to
- 13:56Speaker 11: be the grown-up squirrel that he is today.
- 13:58Speaker 3: The crackhead that he is today.
- 13:59Speaker 11: He is a crackhead. He is ferocious. He's the cutest
- 14:02Speaker 11: damn thing I've ever seen in my entire life. He
- 14:04Speaker 11: still comes and sees me most mornings.
- 14:06Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 14:06Speaker 4: He lives outside. We don't keep him in a cage
- 14:08Speaker 4: or anything like that.
- 14:08Speaker 11: Yeah, he's not in a cage. He's outside.
- 14:10Speaker 4: He's a free-roaming squirrel. But at least he comes back
- 14:12Speaker 4: to the house.
- 14:14Speaker 6: That's what amazes me is that, you know, I figured
- 14:16Speaker 6: once you, like, released him into the wilds, he'd be.
- 14:18Speaker 3: Like, all right, see you later. And he'd look back
- 14:20Speaker 3: and wave when he got to the fence and then
- 14:21Speaker 3: he'd be gone.
- 14:23Speaker 11: He comes back because we keep a bowl full of
- 14:24Speaker 11: sunflower seeds and walnuts.
- 14:26Speaker 4: I think he lives in the tree in the corner
- 14:28Speaker 4: of the fence.
- 14:29Speaker 6: But not only that he comes back, but he comes
- 14:31Speaker 6: back and still scampers up Misty's arm and, like, plays
- 14:33Speaker 6: with her but doesn't attack her and draw blood and, like.
- 14:37Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 14:38Speaker 11: Watching him, you would think he's being hella ferocious and
- 14:40Speaker 11: I'm going to be fucked up for life. But no,
- 14:42Speaker 11: he's just playing.
- 14:43Speaker 3: He's a crazy crack?
- 14:44Speaker 11: He is ridiculous. We gave him a name, but then
- 14:48Speaker 11: we decided we didn't like it, so we don't really
- 14:49Speaker 11: call him by his name anymore.
- 14:51Speaker 4: We call him Squirrel.
- 14:52Speaker 11: Or Little Butt. I call him Little Butt. Jay doesn't
- 14:54Speaker 11: call him Little Butt.
- 14:55Speaker 7: No.
- 14:56Speaker 11: Or Crazy Butt. I call him Crazy Butt, too. He's
- 14:58Speaker 11: especially crazy.
- 14:59Speaker 6: This is sort of like your fill-in version. You're a
- 15:05Speaker 6: substitute for a child, Misty.
- 15:06Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 15:07Speaker 11: Dude, I would rather have a squirrel than.
- 15:09Speaker 12: Have a kid.
- 15:10Speaker 3: I mean, you can't say that with you, Jay, because
- 15:11Speaker 3: you actually have one. Yeah, I actually have a kid.
- 15:12Speaker 3: But for Misty, as she was pulling out her phone
- 15:14Speaker 3: and showing everyone photos of her squirrel today.
- 15:16Speaker 11: I was feeling completely airing them strangers pictures of my squirrel.
- 15:20Speaker 6: And she was like, oh, look, isn't he cute? And
- 15:22Speaker 6: I was like, this is Misty's kid. I mean, this
- 15:24Speaker 6: is probably the closest we're going to get.
- 15:25Speaker 11: I was so sad because when I first put him out,
- 15:28Speaker 11: I put him out on a Monday. And then I
- 15:30Speaker 11: didn't see him again until that Friday.
- 15:32Speaker 4: Well, we were putting him out. During the day, and
- 15:35Speaker 4: then when we'd come back home at night.
- 15:37Speaker 11: He'd be in the cage.
- 15:38Speaker 4: He would come back in, he would get in the cage,
- 15:39Speaker 4: and we would bring him back in the house, and
- 15:41Speaker 4: he would sleep inside, and then we would take him
- 15:43Speaker 4: out the next day and let him loose. And we
- 15:47Speaker 4: got home late that night, and a storm had came through.
- 15:51Speaker 7: And she.
- 15:53Speaker 4: Got kind of worried.
- 15:54Speaker 11: He's afraid of storms.
- 15:55Speaker 4: Yeah, we didn't see him. So we didn't see him
- 15:59Speaker 4: for what, like almost a week?
- 16:01Speaker 11: Almost a week.
- 16:01Speaker 4: And she thought.
- 16:02Speaker 11: We let him out on Monday and he came back
- 16:03Speaker 11: on Friday.
- 16:04Speaker 4: Yeah, she thought maybe he had gotten... Squished or eaten.
- 16:07Speaker 12: Or something.
- 16:08Speaker 6: He got runned over.
- 16:09Speaker 11: I was sad. I was crying. I ain't gonna lie.
- 16:12Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 16:13Speaker 11: Whatever. I cried over a squirrel. Shut up. Screw you guys.
- 16:17Speaker 11: But then he came back and.
- 16:19Speaker 3: I was happy and I almost called him to work.
- 16:21Speaker 4: Yeah, you almost called him to work.
- 16:22Speaker 11: If he had said like five minutes more, I totally
- 16:24Speaker 11: would have called him to work.
- 16:26Speaker 3: Sorry I can't come into work today. I'm having a
- 16:28Speaker 3: squirrel day.
- 16:29Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 16:29Speaker 10: Exactly.
- 16:29Speaker 11: I've called in for less, dude. Come on.
- 16:31Speaker 6: I'm picturing a montage right now, though, of the music
- 16:33Speaker 6: kicks in and you're scampering through a field and feeding
- 16:37Speaker 6: each other food.
- 16:37Speaker 11: It's funny because he likes to chase me through the grass.
- 16:40Speaker 11: But yes, we have a squirrel and I love him
- 16:41Speaker 11: and he's adorable. And I would rather have a squirrel
- 16:44Speaker 11: than a kid because they're a lot less trouble.
- 16:46Speaker 4: They don't argue with you.
- 16:47Speaker 3: They don't talk back.
- 16:48Speaker 11: And you only have to raise them for like a
- 16:49Speaker 11: couple weeks and you can just sit their asses on
- 16:51Speaker 11: the curb and they're good to go. You can't do
- 16:53Speaker 11: that with a baby. You've got to take care of
- 16:55Speaker 11: them for like years and shit. And you can't just
- 16:58Speaker 11: put them in a cage.
- 16:59Speaker 6: No.
- 16:59Speaker 11: They frown upon that.
- 17:00Speaker 3: You can, but eventually, you know.
- 17:03Speaker 11: Will they fit in the bird cage?
- 17:04Speaker 7: No.
- 17:04Speaker 3: Protective services shows up.
- 17:06Speaker 16: No.
- 17:07Speaker 11: They start being a little douchebag and they put them
- 17:09Speaker 11: in a cage and put them on the porch. That's
- 17:11Speaker 11: what I did with the squirrel.
- 17:12Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 17:14Speaker 11: Not like him.
- 17:16Speaker 6: I'd say as a tie-in, once again, we haven't had
- 17:19Speaker 6: much special stuff, but if you're up for it, if
- 17:23Speaker 6: you're up for showcasing your baby to everybody, for the
- 17:26Speaker 6: Secret Circle fans, we can post a picture of him.
- 17:29Speaker 11: Oh, my God.
- 17:30Speaker 3: We can send them a picture of your adorable child.
- 17:32Speaker 11: But then again, if you're my friend on Facebook, you've
- 17:33Speaker 11: already seen him, so they're not that special. I don't know.
- 17:37Speaker 11: I'm not friends with that many people.
- 17:39Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying.
- 17:40Speaker 11: Randy's seen him. Randy knows everything we've already talked about,
- 17:43Speaker 11: so Randy's probably bored.
- 17:44Speaker 4: So that's pretty much the secret circle.
- 17:47Speaker 17: No.
- 17:47Speaker 4: You mean there's more people?
- 17:49Speaker 3: There's plenty more people.
- 17:51Speaker 4: When did that happen? I've been gone for a long time.
- 17:55Speaker 13: All right.
- 17:55Speaker 11: Enough about the serial killer and the squirrel.
- 17:59Speaker 18: All right.
- 18:00Speaker 10: Hey.
- 18:00Speaker 11: Did we actually watch anything?
- 18:01Speaker 4: Yeah, we've been watching Sherlock, the BBC series.
- 18:05Speaker 11: Boyfriend has got me watching British television.
- 18:07Speaker 4: Hell yeah. Squirrel one for me.
- 18:08Speaker 3: Hell's at least half frozen over by now.
- 18:10Speaker 11: Yeah. But it's different. It's not British comedy. I won't
- 18:13Speaker 11: watch British comedy.
- 18:15Speaker 3: What if it was a British documentary?
- 18:17Speaker 4: On comedy.
- 18:20Speaker 11: Yes, people watching Sherlock, and it's actually, I was afraid
- 18:23Speaker 11: I wasn't going to like it because I really did
- 18:26Speaker 11: not like the Robert Downey Jr. Sherlock Holmes or whatever.
- 18:29Speaker 4: It's not the same thing, though.
- 18:30Speaker 11: It's not at all the same thing, but I really
- 18:32Speaker 11: like it. I don't know, you like it because you
- 18:35Speaker 11: got me watching it.
- 18:36Speaker 4: Yeah, I like it a lot.
- 18:38Speaker 11: That's all you got?
- 18:38Speaker 4: That's all I got.
- 18:39Speaker 3: It's good.
- 18:40Speaker 4: Watch it. Or don't.
- 18:43Speaker 3: I watched the first one. I thought it was pretty good.
- 18:45Speaker 6: And I liked those two guys. They did a decent
- 18:47Speaker 6: job modernizing it.
- 18:49Speaker 4: Yes, they did a really good job modernizing it. It
- 18:51Speaker 4: was not too annoying.
- 18:53Speaker 3: I like Watson's a war veteran.
- 18:55Speaker 4: Their chemistry is good.
- 18:56Speaker 3: Yeah, it's really good.
- 18:57Speaker 4: And it's not over the top.
- 18:59Speaker 11: And it's even more rare that I like it because
- 19:00Speaker 11: there's no hot guys in this show whatsoever.
- 19:03Speaker 3: You don't like the Cumberbatch or whatever.
- 19:05Speaker 11: Benedict Cumberbatch. From what I've heard, he's supposed to be
- 19:07Speaker 11: in the new Star Trek movie. And I've heard he's
- 19:09Speaker 11: supposed to be playing Khan. which I'm not sure if
- 19:11Speaker 11: that's accurate or not or if it's just a rumor,
- 19:13Speaker 11: but that's just, I'm not sure how I feel about
- 19:15Speaker 11: him as Khan.
- 19:16Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 19:17Speaker 11: Maybe because Khan to me will always be Ricardo Montalvo.
- 19:20Speaker 3: I don't know if anybody can be Khan other than
- 19:23Speaker 3: Ricardo Montalvo. They'll try, but.
- 19:25Speaker 11: And his fantastic chest.
- 19:27Speaker 6: Yeah, maybe Cumberbatch will strap on a plastic chiseled chest
- 19:32Speaker 6: like that.
- 19:32Speaker 11: That would be rowdy. That would be awesome beyond words.
- 19:35Speaker 4: But then we also have been watching other British programing.
- 19:37Speaker 11: The Fades, which is also not a British comedy. It's
- 19:42Speaker 11: not very comedy-like at all. It is hilarious in some
- 19:45Speaker 11: spots because it's very well-written. Yes. It kind of reminds
- 19:48Speaker 11: me of the way The Misfits show was.
- 19:51Speaker 4: Yeah, it reminds me a lot of that.
- 19:54Speaker 9: But....
- 19:57Speaker 11: I suckered Boyfriend into watching it. He's been kind of reluctant,
- 19:59Speaker 11: but I kind of.
- 20:00Speaker 4: No, no, I like it. It's just, you know how
- 20:02Speaker 4: I am with stuff getting... start off slowly. Most of
- 20:04Speaker 4: the time I'm at work, so I'm really like, I'm
- 20:06Speaker 4: going to sit down and try to watch a TV show.
- 20:08Speaker 4: Most of the time I'll fall asleep.
- 20:10Speaker 3: Me too.
- 20:11Speaker 10: What?
- 20:11Speaker 3: Me too.
- 20:12Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 20:12Speaker 6: During the week, I have to like save up and
- 20:15Speaker 6: like in the weekend, I'll actually get some sleep and
- 20:17Speaker 6: I'll sit down and watch something.
- 20:18Speaker 4: Yeah, it's like sleep or watch something. Yeah.
- 20:21Speaker 11: I've heard several good things about The Fade, so I
- 20:23Speaker 11: finally started watching it. I was impressed. I love it.
- 20:26Speaker 3: It's good.
- 20:26Speaker 4: It's, I don't know, how would you describe it? Almost
- 20:30Speaker 4: a blend of like ghosts and zombies yeah it's it's
- 20:36Speaker 4: a really interesting.
- 20:37Speaker 11: Take the main concept is it's it's in a world
- 20:40Speaker 11: where when you die you become like a spirit either
- 20:43Speaker 11: you ascend or you get stuck and when you get
- 20:46Speaker 11: stuck i guess.
- 20:47Speaker 3: Eventually you start to get pissed you get.
- 20:49Speaker 11: Madder and madder until you become a fade or i
- 20:51Speaker 11: guess once you die you're a fade but you become
- 20:53Speaker 11: more and more angry and they're getting to the point
- 20:55Speaker 11: where the fades can actually touch and interact with people
- 20:57Speaker 11: and there's a certain group of people that It's their,
- 21:01Speaker 11: not really job, because what they do is they hunt
- 21:04Speaker 11: down these spades and they get rid of them. And
- 21:06Speaker 11: they kill them, or they.
- 21:07Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 21:08Speaker 4: But I think at a certain point, they figure out
- 21:12Speaker 4: that they can start to eat flesh. So they're actually
- 21:15Speaker 4: starting to attack people. And the more flesh that they're consuming,
- 21:18Speaker 4: the more... They can interact. The more human attributes they're
- 21:21Speaker 4: picking up, the more they can interact. They can talk.
- 21:26Speaker 4: They can physically touch things.
- 21:27Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 21:29Speaker 4: It's an interesting concept, but it kind of centers around
- 21:33Speaker 4: this high school boy that's kind of a loser, kind
- 21:37Speaker 4: of a geek. Well, his friend's a huge movie geek.
- 21:40Speaker 11: Constantly referencing movies, not the characters, or the character on
- 21:45Speaker 11: the movie, because you can't reference... You.
- 21:47Speaker 4: Can't quote a movie. You're quoting the character.
- 21:50Speaker 11: Oh, God. I totally got it wrong, but whatever. It's
- 21:53Speaker 11: funny as hell.
- 21:54Speaker 3: It's good.
- 21:54Speaker 4: It's a good show.
- 21:55Speaker 11: I would totally recommend The Fates and Misfits if you
- 21:58Speaker 11: haven't watched that yet. It's an awesome show. And we
- 22:00Speaker 11: talked about it before a long time ago, but if
- 22:02Speaker 11: you're as new and you haven't heard it before, then
- 22:05Speaker 11: you should definitely watch Misfits.
- 22:07Speaker 6: And if you're not familiar with them, you don't realize
- 22:09Speaker 6: this is a massive growing moment for MISTI, moving in
- 22:12Speaker 6: and accepting British programming.
- 22:15Speaker 11: But again, my main hatred is British comedy. I know.
- 22:19Speaker 11: I've always liked British because I loved S Club 7.
- 22:22Speaker 3: That's true. S Club 7 does kick ass.
- 22:24Speaker 6: But you were against it for so long that this is, yeah,
- 22:27Speaker 6: this is.
- 22:28Speaker 4: Progress, people. I'm still against British comedy.
- 22:31Speaker 11: I hate British comedy and I still hate documentaries.
- 22:34Speaker 3: I'm very pit and miss.
- 22:35Speaker 6: There's a lot of British comedy I am not on
- 22:37Speaker 6: board with, but every once in a while, you know,
- 22:39Speaker 6: you get the right mix. You just got to find
- 22:42Speaker 6: what you're into, especially with comedy in general, but specifically
- 22:45Speaker 6: British comedy.
- 22:46Speaker 3: It's got its own Special feel to it.
- 22:50Speaker 4: Even British documentaries are almost comedies to me.
- 22:53Speaker 11: You're trying to kill me now. And I have to
- 22:57Speaker 11: listen to the fades loud because their accents are so
- 23:00Speaker 11: thick that if I have to hear it loud to
- 23:01Speaker 11: understand what he's saying.
- 23:02Speaker 4: I don't have the problem.
- 23:05Speaker 11: You can't hear shit anyway. We watched a movie.
- 23:10Speaker 3: Okay.
- 23:10Speaker 11: We watched the 12 Musketeers.
- 23:12Speaker 3: The 12 Musketeers.
- 23:14Speaker 4: The 13 Musketeers.
- 23:16Speaker 3: I think you're on some of that squirrel crack.
- 23:18Speaker 11: I'm adding some fucking Musketeers up in there. Yeah, we
- 23:20Speaker 11: watched the three Musketeers. It was boring.
- 23:24Speaker 4: It was okay.
- 23:25Speaker 11: It was boring as hell.
- 23:26Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, it was boring as hell. I only watched
- 23:28Speaker 4: it because it had Mila in it.
- 23:31Speaker 3: Did it at least deliver on Mila?
- 23:34Speaker 4: Yeah, I guess.
- 23:35Speaker 11: It did.
- 23:35Speaker 4: There was Patty Mila, so that was kind of cool.
- 23:37Speaker 3: She was adorable.
- 23:37Speaker 11: Maybe we needed more Tilsh. Was it Schwager? I can't
- 23:41Speaker 11: say his last name.
- 23:41Speaker 4: Tilshwager.
- 23:42Speaker 12: Schwager.
- 23:44Speaker 11: Tilshwager. He isn't in it for.
- 23:45Speaker 3: Like three minutes.
- 23:47Speaker 11: Not even that. Not even three minutes. Like 30 seconds.
- 23:50Speaker 11: And I was so excited because I was like, oh
- 23:51Speaker 11: my god, I didn't know Jill Schweiger was in this movie.
- 23:53Speaker 4: Yeah, for three seconds and then he was gone.
- 23:55Speaker 11: And I kept waiting for him to come back. I
- 23:57Speaker 11: kept waiting like.
- 23:58Speaker 4: And he never did.
- 23:58Speaker 11: He never did. The entire fucking movie. That's what hold me.
- 24:03Speaker 11: Who this movie was waiting for him to come back.
- 24:06Speaker 11: Fucking movie. Stupid.
- 24:07Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 24:09Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 24:11Speaker 11: It was just pointless.
- 24:11Speaker 4: It was a good waste of.
- 24:13Speaker 11: An hour and a half. It wasn't even a good waste.
- 24:15Speaker 11: It was kind of a bad waste.
- 24:16Speaker 3: I can think.
- 24:17Speaker 11: Of stuff that I would have rather watched than that.
- 24:19Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 24:22Speaker 1: Oh, well.
- 24:23Speaker 4: I think that was it. Did we watch anything else?
- 24:25Speaker 11: Nope. Too busy staring at Claude's house.
- 24:27Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 24:29Speaker 3: Well, the only thing I'd... Playing with squirrels.
- 24:31Speaker 6: The only thing I'd seen that really this whole past week,
- 24:35Speaker 6: I hadn't done anything except kind of get ready for
- 24:37Speaker 6: this and all the other stuff going on. So the
- 24:38Speaker 6: last thing I watched was actually in the Kentucky Theater,
- 24:42Speaker 6: which is awesome, by the way.
- 24:43Speaker 3: I believe I've mentioned in the past. Yeah, it's pretty amazing.
- 24:47Speaker 3: And sat there and watched Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid. Which,
- 24:51Speaker 3: have you seen that one? I don't know if Jade
- 24:53Speaker 3: maybe had seen it.
- 24:56Speaker 7: No.
- 24:56Speaker 3: You'd like it?
- 24:57Speaker 6: Well, first of all, it's Sam Peckinpah, which is awesome. Basically,
- 25:04Speaker 6: the main character, Billy the Kid, is Chris Christopherson. He's
- 25:07Speaker 6: good and all, but it's not his movie. Well, you'll
- 25:09Speaker 6: like him in this because he's like 12 years old.
- 25:11Speaker 6: He is a damn kid in this thing. Like, literally,
- 25:13Speaker 6: Billy the Kid.
- 25:13Speaker 3: So, I mean, he is that character, but I'm sorry,
- 25:17Speaker 3: Pat Garrett is James Colburn. He steals the damn movie.
- 25:21Speaker 3: James Colburn's awesome. That's what I'm saying.
- 25:23Speaker 6: I knew you liked him, so I was like, you
- 25:25Speaker 6: need to see this if you haven't because he is
- 25:27Speaker 6: such a badass in this movie.
- 25:29Speaker 3: I mean, he is so awesome.
- 25:32Speaker 6: And he's just being like a, you know, again, he's
- 25:35Speaker 6: being Pat Garrett, so he's kind of a jerk anyway,
- 25:38Speaker 6: and then they give him a badge, and he's just like,
- 25:40Speaker 6: I'm going to go hunt people down.
- 25:41Speaker 3: And he's just, so.
- 25:43Speaker 6: Many scenes of him just like, yep, there's James Colburn.
- 25:46Speaker 3: He's a badass.
- 25:47Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 25:48Speaker 6: And, yeah, it's got Harry Dean Stanton in it as
- 25:51Speaker 6: one of the gang, and, you know, we talked to
- 25:54Speaker 6: Donnie last week. He was in there, so Donnie Fritz
- 25:57Speaker 6: is one of the gang as well. So it's an
- 25:59Speaker 6: interesting mixture of people, and Slim Pickens is in it,
- 26:02Speaker 6: for God's sakes. There's few people I'm more entertained with
- 26:07Speaker 6: than Slim Pickens.
- 26:08Speaker 3: God damn it, that guy's funny.
- 26:12Speaker 6: So, but, yeah, it's usual brand of Peckinpah violence, and...
- 26:18Speaker 6: But again, he kind of does it for a reason.
- 26:21Speaker 3: He does it well. He makes it bloody and realistic,
- 26:24Speaker 3: and more so than most.
- 26:26Speaker 6: Westerns ever did, especially back when earlier Westerns never did.
- 26:31Speaker 3: But yeah, otherwise, that's about all I've seen lately.
- 26:34Speaker 11: I remember we went and saw a movie, and it's
- 26:36Speaker 11: been a couple years. weeks now so it's not like
- 26:39Speaker 11: it's a new thing so I guess if you've already
- 26:41Speaker 11: seen it then we can say stuff about it because
- 26:43Speaker 11: it's been out for a while we went and saw Cabin.
- 26:45Speaker 6: In the Woods oh yeah I still haven't seen anything
- 26:48Speaker 6: I say no spoilers no spoilers we're.
- 26:50Speaker 11: Not going to spoil it totally but it's just.
- 26:53Speaker 4: If you're a Joss Whedon fan and you're expecting Joss
- 26:56Speaker 4: dialogue you're going to.
- 26:57Speaker 6: Be very disappointed just go see The Avengers yeah just
- 26:59Speaker 6: go see The Avengers because The Avengers does have Joss
- 27:01Speaker 6: dialogue because I think.
- 27:02Speaker 11: He saved up all his good shit for that movie
- 27:04Speaker 11: I think he did I.
- 27:06Speaker 4: Think he just showed up On set and then had
- 27:09Speaker 4: somebody else write the script for it. Because this did
- 27:12Speaker 4: not feel like a Joss Whedon.
- 27:13Speaker 12: Movie at all.
- 27:14Speaker 11: I mean, I like the concept. I like the idea.
- 27:17Speaker 11: I like one of the final scenes in it. It
- 27:19Speaker 11: was amazing.
- 27:20Speaker 4: Yeah, but it just really lacked.
- 27:22Speaker 11: I went into it expecting the dialogue because it's Joss Whedon.
- 27:26Speaker 11: I'm like, all right. I think Joss Whedon, I'm thinking
- 27:29Speaker 11: it's going to have Buffy level dialogue. It's going to
- 27:31Speaker 11: have fucking Firefly dialogue. All those are known for.
- 27:34Speaker 4: It's got.
- 27:34Speaker 11: Amazing dialogue, and it's specifically Joss Whedon, and you can
- 27:38Speaker 11: tell it's Joss Whedon most of the time. Then you
- 27:39Speaker 11: get to this, and it's just like.
- 27:40Speaker 4: Who the hell wrote this?
- 27:43Speaker 3: It's like he.
- 27:44Speaker 11: Just sat down, told somebody his idea, and then left
- 27:47Speaker 11: to go to the Avengers.
- 27:48Speaker 4: They gave it to some college student to write, I think.
- 27:52Speaker 3: I don't know, dude.
- 27:52Speaker 11: Like I said, I liked the idea. I was just
- 27:54Speaker 11: very disappointed with the dialogue.
- 27:56Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 27:57Speaker 11: And dialogue, you know, it's kind of important when you.
- 27:59Speaker 4: Especially in a horror movie, to me.
- 28:01Speaker 12: I mean.
- 28:03Speaker 4: Normal horror movies you've got the the blood and guts
- 28:05Speaker 4: and that's pretty much all horror movies really i mean
- 28:08Speaker 4: if you break it down but i mean the dialogue
- 28:10Speaker 4: a lot of times to me really stands out yeah
- 28:13Speaker 4: it makes it stand out.
- 28:14Speaker 11: Otherwise it's just another shitty.
- 28:15Speaker 4: Horror movie exactly don't get.
- 28:17Speaker 11: Me wrong i like shitty horror movies i think a
- 28:19Speaker 11: lot of it.
- 28:19Speaker 6: Yeah that's what i thought he only co-wrote it so
- 28:23Speaker 6: i was just checking so it's drew goddard The director
- 28:26Speaker 6: also co-wrote it, so I guess maybe you want to
- 28:28Speaker 6: fault him for it.
- 28:30Speaker 3: I don't know. I still haven't seen it yet. Yeah,
- 28:32Speaker 3: you fucker.
- 28:34Speaker 11: You got me all excited for nothing. It was a
- 28:37Speaker 11: great idea. I liked the concept. I said, there are
- 28:41Speaker 11: some scenes in there that you're just like, that's fucking awesome.
- 28:45Speaker 11: Then you got to listen to them talk, and I'm
- 28:47Speaker 11: just like, I'd rather you all just shut up.
- 28:51Speaker 3: It had a young Chris Hemsworth in it.
- 28:53Speaker 11: Oh, he is dreamy.
- 28:55Speaker 3: That's what I figured you'd say.
- 28:56Speaker 11: I love me some Chris Hemsworth. But they all each
- 29:01Speaker 11: have their role, and it's over-stereotypical.
- 29:04Speaker 17: Yeah.
- 29:04Speaker 11: I mean, they have the stoner who is just, it's
- 29:07Speaker 11: fucking a physical, real-life version of Shaggy walking around.
- 29:10Speaker 4: Basically, yeah.
- 29:13Speaker 11: It is. It's like Shaggy without Scooby, and that's how
- 29:17Speaker 11: the whole movie felt.
- 29:17Speaker 3: I've seen that movie.
- 29:18Speaker 11: Like something, and then you're just missing something the whole time.
- 29:21Speaker 4: Yeah, you're missing Scooby.
- 29:24Speaker 3: They could CG him in later, I guess.
- 29:26Speaker 4: Yeah, it did pretty much feel like a Scooby game.
- 29:29Speaker 11: You know, but then it's just... And I understand why
- 29:31Speaker 11: they have... Why they are all so stereotypical is because
- 29:36Speaker 11: that's the point, you know? But still, it was just...
- 29:40Speaker 11: I was so disappointed in the dialogue. And I keep
- 29:43Speaker 11: harping on that, and I'm sorry. But to me, that's,
- 29:46Speaker 11: Joss Whedon, why did you do this to me?
- 29:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:50Speaker 6: I mean, unless he's, again, unless he's so overanalyzing the
- 29:54Speaker 6: whole horror concept that they really are. I mean, he's
- 29:57Speaker 6: going overboard to make them stereotypical, to make this point
- 30:00Speaker 6: of deconstructing horror and all that.
- 30:02Speaker 9: I don't know.
- 30:03Speaker 3: I've heard so many people theorize what's going on.
- 30:04Speaker 11: Even if you're going to over-stereotype them, make it fucking good.
- 30:09Speaker 11: Make their dialogue fucking amazing. I can deal with stereotypes
- 30:12Speaker 11: as long as it's very well-written stereotypes. You're going to
- 30:15Speaker 11: give me this shit and try to pass it off
- 30:17Speaker 11: as the greatest horror movie ever, and then you're just
- 30:19Speaker 11: going to piss me off.
- 30:22Speaker 3: That seems to have happened.
- 30:25Speaker 11: Chris Hemsworth is dreamy. I still don't want to see
- 30:27Speaker 11: The Avengers, though.
- 30:29Speaker 12: You should. It's awesome.
- 30:29Speaker 11: I don't like Jeremy Renner's face.
- 30:31Speaker 3: That doesn't surprise me, either.
- 30:33Speaker 11: I hate his face. It's like.
- 30:36Speaker 3: He's not... He ends up being not a huge... I mean, well,
- 30:40Speaker 3: he's kind of.
- 30:41Speaker 6: Important in the story, but it's a long way into
- 30:44Speaker 6: the movie before you really get him, like, Avenger-ing, so.
- 30:48Speaker 3: But it's just.
- 30:49Speaker 11: I forget what else bothered me about it.
- 30:51Speaker 4: He shoots a bow and arrow, and there are, like,
- 30:53Speaker 4: lots of other people in the world that shoot a
- 30:54Speaker 4: bow and arrow.
- 30:55Speaker 6: Yeah, but he's awesome at it. And he has a
- 30:58Speaker 6: fancy bow and arrow and it explodes and shit.
- 31:01Speaker 4: Rambo had a bow and arrow that exploded. Why couldn't
- 31:04Speaker 4: they just get Rambo?
- 31:05Speaker 3: If you could bring Rambo in on it, I mean.
- 31:08Speaker 4: Is Rambo an Avenger?
- 31:10Speaker 3: He could be, you don't know.
- 31:11Speaker 4: He could have been.
- 31:12Speaker 3: He's getting too old for that, man.
- 31:15Speaker 4: He's got super plastic surgery now.
- 31:16Speaker 3: He only makes movies that he makes now.
- 31:19Speaker 11: But yeah, I'm very disappointed in the dialogue.
- 31:22Speaker 17: I'm mad.
- 31:23Speaker 4: That's the problem. that Sylvester couldn't pull off the Joss
- 31:26Speaker 4: Whedon dialogue.
- 31:28Speaker 3: I don't know how to say all that stuff. What's
- 31:31Speaker 3: a Spidey sense?
- 31:32Speaker 11: Everybody's like, well, if you like Joss Whedon, you'll like
- 31:35Speaker 11: the Avengers, but I want an original... I like Joss
- 31:38Speaker 11: Whedon original stuff. I like Buffy. I like Firefly.
- 31:42Speaker 17: I like.
- 31:42Speaker 11: That's Joss Whedon stuff, you know? I don't... It's like
- 31:45Speaker 11: him playing with somebody else's toys.
- 31:47Speaker 3: You know what you should see? Cabin in the Woods.
- 31:51Speaker 11: I would still.
- 31:52Speaker 3: You don't like either version of it at this point.
- 31:54Speaker 3: You've got issues with Joss.
- 31:57Speaker 11: I do have issues with Joss. He's very Joss. He's very...
- 32:00Speaker 11: Piss me off. Yeah, it's like... I'm not a big
- 32:03Speaker 11: Avengers fan. I don't care about the Avengers. I don't.
- 32:06Speaker 3: I don't think many people did up until this movie
- 32:08Speaker 3: came around. I was like, why do.
- 32:10Speaker 11: I care if Joss Whedon decided to write a fucking
- 32:12Speaker 11: fan fiction of fucking Avengers, you know?
- 32:15Speaker 3: Because that's what geeks do.
- 32:19Speaker 11: But still, you know, why do I care? I'd rather
- 32:21Speaker 11: see an original work by him than some fan fiction
- 32:24Speaker 11: of something else.
- 32:25Speaker 3: That's what I say about a lot of people.
- 32:27Speaker 6: But this one, I don't know, this one he did
- 32:29Speaker 6: a good job.
- 32:30Speaker 12: Whatever.
- 32:32Speaker 11: It was your listenership.
- 32:33Speaker 4: Yeah, you're just well opinionated.
- 32:36Speaker 3: All right.
- 32:39Speaker 13: All right.
- 32:40Speaker 11: I'll think of something else I'll watch later. I'll tell
- 32:41Speaker 11: you all about it.
- 32:42Speaker 3: Probably. I guess we will go wander around the fest
- 32:45Speaker 3: and see what else we can find.
- 32:47Speaker 4: Where's the Moon Knight movie, damn it? I want a
- 32:49Speaker 4: Moon Knight movie.
- 32:51Speaker 3: You've been on that Moon Knight movie for a long time.
- 32:53Speaker 11: Moon Knight? What's your deal?
- 32:55Speaker 4: It's Moon Knight.
- 32:56Speaker 11: I have no idea who Moon Knight is.
- 32:57Speaker 3: He's a knight. Most of America knows.
- 32:59Speaker 4: He's a knight of the moon.
- 33:02Speaker 3: He's got a cape.
- 33:03Speaker 11: You like capes, do you?
- 33:04Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 33:05Speaker 6: I just picture him as the Mac the Knight guy.
- 33:07Speaker 6: I just picture him with a giant moon head fighting crime.
- 33:10Speaker 3: With a piano. Where's the Mac the Knight movie? Fighting crime.
- 33:15Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 33:16Speaker 3: Defending the city. Yeah, I'd watch that. That sounds pretty awesome.
- 33:20Speaker 11: Mac Knight.
- 33:22Speaker 3: All right, I guess we will take a break and
- 33:24Speaker 3: we will be back.
- 33:25Speaker 17: All the shark has... Pretty.
- 33:28Speaker 12: Teeth, dear.
- 33:31Speaker 17: And he shows them a pearly white. Just such jackknife
- 33:39Speaker 17: as Mac Heath did.
- 33:42Speaker 11: And he keeps it.
- 33:44Speaker 12: Out of sight.
- 33:47Speaker 7: When the shark bites.
- 33:49Speaker 17: With his teeth, dear, scarlet billows start to spread. Fancy gloves, though,
- 34:00Speaker 17: where's my heat, dear? So there's not a trace of
- 34:06Speaker 17: red on the sidewalk. Sunday morning, baby, lies a body
- 34:16Speaker 17: oozing life. Someone sneaking around to call me out. Is
- 34:24Speaker 17: there someone back tonight from a tugboat by the river?
- 34:35Speaker 17: I see my bags drooping down.
- 34:38Speaker 7: Refresh yourself.
- 34:39Speaker 11: It's intermission time.
- 34:41Speaker 7: The concession stand is open and ready to serve you.
- 34:44Speaker 8: Los Angeles, 2019. There was an.
- 34:48Speaker 9: Escape from the off-world colonies.
- 34:49Speaker 12: They slaughtered... The assignment?
- 34:51Speaker 8: Track down six manufactured humans. He's the best man for
- 34:56Speaker 8: the job. But he may die trying to prove it.
- 35:05Speaker 8: Harrison Ford is the Blade Runner.
- 35:11Speaker 19: When the lights are blinking That means that I'm thinking That.
- 35:15Speaker 4: Means that I'm sinking.
- 35:19Speaker 15: Go sit down the victim.
- 35:21Speaker 4: Go sit down the system.
- 35:23Speaker 20: Take a cold.
- 35:24Speaker 4: And piss down.
- 35:28Speaker 3: Telecoms and bedding.
- 35:30Speaker 15: Memories like bedding. Dream of shape of electric. I've gone
- 35:37Speaker 15: through the motions.
- 35:38Speaker 6: Dream of ill emotions.
- 35:40Speaker 3: I dream of it. All right, we're here with Joanna Cassidy.
- 35:52Speaker 6: I usually like to kind of start at the beginning,
- 35:54Speaker 6: so I guess going back to childhood, was performing something
- 35:58Speaker 6: you were always.
- 35:59Speaker 3: Interested in or had a knack for it even when
- 36:02Speaker 3: you were young?
- 36:04Speaker 1: I had no interest in it whatsoever. I really was
- 36:07Speaker 1: not a performer. I was a bit of.
- 36:12Speaker 20: A loner, actually. I never thought about entertaining or being
- 36:16Speaker 20: in the business. At all.
- 36:19Speaker 3: Weren't even involved in, like, theater or anything in school?
- 36:22Speaker 12: No.
- 36:23Speaker 20: I did the makeup in school.
- 36:24Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 36:25Speaker 20: Yes, I was backstage.
- 36:27Speaker 3: And I.
- 36:31Speaker 20: My life looked like... Then I wasn't... No, I.
- 36:39Speaker 1: Didn't mind being the creative part, so more the artistic part.
- 36:43Speaker 1: So I would do, you know, makeup, hair, costumes, and
- 36:46Speaker 1: that sort of thing.
- 36:47Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 36:48Speaker 6: And then you got involved in art earlier on? In
- 36:52Speaker 6: that time, I guess, you were more focused on art
- 36:54Speaker 6: and sculpture?
- 36:55Speaker 3: I was.
- 36:56Speaker 1: I went to Syracuse University to study fine art and
- 37:02Speaker 1: did not actually pursue that. There wasn't time to do it,
- 37:05Speaker 1: but I've done it in my own way over the years,
- 37:09Speaker 1: through houses and architecture and landscaping, etc.
- 37:13Speaker 6: Do you still paint and stuff like that? Do you
- 37:16Speaker 6: take that on yourself now?
- 37:17Speaker 20: Yeah, I do. When there's time, you know, and I'm
- 37:20Speaker 20: not running back and forth from L.A.
- 37:22Speaker 11: To Louisiana.
- 37:24Speaker 20: I do make time for that.
- 37:25Speaker 3: Specific mediums?
- 37:29Speaker 20: No, watercolors are good. They work for me. And, you know,
- 37:33Speaker 20: sculpting is clay, different types of clay and.
- 37:36Speaker 15: So on and so on.
- 37:37Speaker 3: It's good to know you're still doing it, though.
- 37:38Speaker 7: Yes.
- 37:39Speaker 3: That's good.
- 37:40Speaker 1: I think it's a smart thing to get into. It
- 37:44Speaker 1: seems to go with the age-appropriateness of life.
- 37:48Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 37:49Speaker 6: I guess once you shifted, what was the drive that led.
- 37:54Speaker 3: You to getting into acting and specifically into movies?
- 37:58Speaker 20: Survival, honey.
- 38:00Speaker 3: Isn't that always with work at all?
- 38:02Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 38:03Speaker 3: But I guess what.
- 38:04Speaker 6: You could have gotten a job at a restaurant somewhere.
- 38:08Speaker 3: What was it specifically that drew you to acting?
- 38:12Speaker 1: Well, I guess I had enough people around me saying
- 38:14Speaker 1: to me, you know, you should really be an actress.
- 38:17Speaker 1: And I didn't really understand why.
- 38:22Speaker 20: I mean, I understood on one level that I had
- 38:26Speaker 20: a look that was a good look at the time,
- 38:30Speaker 20: you know, and that always helps. But of course... it
- 38:35Speaker 20: also helps if you've got the chops.
- 38:37Speaker 1: And if you've had the experience and a lot of
- 38:39Speaker 1: people come out of theater and, and, you know, have,
- 38:42Speaker 1: have all that wonderful experience and would, and studied, you.
- 38:46Speaker 20: Know, in school, theater and acting and so on, which,
- 38:51Speaker 20: which I didn't.
- 38:51Speaker 1: So, you know, I, it's something, you know, looks changed.
- 38:58Speaker 1: People are constantly coming in new and, And changing over.
- 39:02Speaker 1: It's a whole different system now. It used to be
- 39:05Speaker 1: that the studios supported their actors for.
- 39:08Speaker 20: A long time.
- 39:10Speaker 3: You're lucky to get through a movie now.
- 39:12Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 39:12Speaker 3: Not them changing their mind.
- 39:14Speaker 1: It's a very different deal today. Definitely.
- 39:19Speaker 6: Was one of the earlier ones you just sort of ended.
- 39:22Speaker 4: Up in Bullet?
- 39:22Speaker 13: How did that.
- 39:23Speaker 1: Well, I was i was an extra yeah you know
- 39:26Speaker 1: i was hired as an extra because i had a.
- 39:28Speaker 3: Fur coat that's all it takes sometimes.
- 39:30Speaker 1: So when i you know i was in a scene
- 39:34Speaker 1: where i was parked on a very steep hill in
- 39:38Speaker 1: san francisco and my clutch burned out and steve mcqueen
- 39:42Speaker 1: rescued me and you know because i hit all these
- 39:44Speaker 1: other cars and uh so he I met him, and
- 39:49Speaker 1: that was very interesting, and Robert Vaughn. And, you know,
- 39:52Speaker 1: it kind of gave me a taste of the excitement
- 39:55Speaker 1: of life, which I really, being from a small town in.
- 39:58Speaker 20: New Jersey, I really had no clue about. And all
- 40:01Speaker 20: of a sudden, I was like, wow, this is.
- 40:03Speaker 3: Hanging out with Steve McQueen. This is pretty cool.
- 40:06Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 40:06Speaker 17: So, you know.
- 40:08Speaker 3: That's cool. Well, there were a few other ones I
- 40:10Speaker 3: kind of wanted to hit.
- 40:11Speaker 6: And I guess earlier ones, just to see what your
- 40:14Speaker 6: thoughts are.
- 40:15Speaker 3: I was just kind of looking into The Night Child.
- 40:18Speaker 3: What was that? Was that in Italy that you ended
- 40:21Speaker 3: up shooting? Yes, it was.
- 40:24Speaker 20: It was in Spoleto. We shot that in Spoleto. And
- 40:28Speaker 20: that was Richard... Oh, gosh, what? Richard... Ah! I can't
- 40:35Speaker 20: think of his last name.
- 40:36Speaker 1: And he's a Shakespearean actor.
- 40:40Speaker 20: He was married to Kim Novak. What is his last name?
- 40:43Speaker 10: Um.
- 40:45Speaker 1: And I just had the most amazing time doing that. And,
- 40:49Speaker 1: of course, I love the Italians, so what could be bad?
- 40:54Speaker 6: You know, being kind of thrown into another country like that,
- 40:57Speaker 6: was it an interesting shoot or anything out of the ordinary?
- 41:02Speaker 20: Everything was out of the ordinary, yes.
- 41:05Speaker 13: You know, I.
- 41:07Speaker 20: Don't think I'll go into detail. It was a very
- 41:11Speaker 20: rough shoot.
- 41:13Speaker 3: Oh, right.
- 41:14Speaker 11: And... But fun.
- 41:16Speaker 20: I mean, we laughed all through the whole thing.
- 41:18Speaker 1: We just laughed and laughed and laughed and did kind
- 41:22Speaker 1: of a fun movie. I think the one thing I've
- 41:26Speaker 1: always tried to do in all the films that I've
- 41:28Speaker 1: done is just enjoy myself and have a good time
- 41:31Speaker 1: and make it a wonderful, just a bigger-than-life experience. And
- 41:37Speaker 1: I don't know, maybe that's where I went wrong. I
- 41:40Speaker 1: didn't take it so seriously.
- 41:41Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 41:42Speaker 20: I mean, I did and I didn't, if you know
- 41:44Speaker 20: what I mean.
- 41:44Speaker 3: In a way, it's better the other way.
- 41:45Speaker 6: You know, I think you get more out of it
- 41:47Speaker 6: personally if you're not so concerned about the professionalism and
- 41:51Speaker 6: just have fun with it.
- 41:52Speaker 20: Oh, no, professional I am.
- 41:53Speaker 11: Well.
- 41:54Speaker 20: Professional I am.
- 41:55Speaker 6: Professionalism, but not really worried about, you know, the finance
- 41:58Speaker 6: end of it more so than the artistic.
- 42:00Speaker 12: End of it.
- 42:00Speaker 20: Well, no, you have to stay away from the finance end.
- 42:03Speaker 20: Let the other guys take care of that stuff.
- 42:06Speaker 6: I guess we can get to... You know, at that point,
- 42:08Speaker 6: I guess, you got into Blade Runner. How did that
- 42:11Speaker 6: even come about for you?
- 42:13Speaker 1: I just had an English agent who knew Ridley, and
- 42:18Speaker 1: he said to Ridley, you know, she's really the only
- 42:22Speaker 1: actress in town that can do it because she's.
- 42:24Speaker 20: Got the snake, so.
- 42:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 42:26Speaker 3: You come with your own snake.
- 42:27Speaker 11: Mm-hmm.
- 42:28Speaker 20: And I met with him, and he said, of course.
- 42:32Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 42:32Speaker 1: Of course.
- 42:33Speaker 6: What was he like as a director? I mean, he's
- 42:36Speaker 6: sort of known for being very specific and very, you know.
- 42:39Speaker 11: He's a perfectionist.
- 42:40Speaker 7: Yes.
- 42:41Speaker 1: And he will do take after take after take until
- 42:45Speaker 1: he gets exactly what he wants, and he can do
- 42:48Speaker 1: that because he's brilliant.
- 42:49Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 42:50Speaker 3: So.
- 42:51Speaker 6: And I guess you were sort of on that set.
- 42:54Speaker 3: From what I've seen of it, that was a pretty
- 42:55Speaker 3: massive and detailed.
- 42:57Speaker 4: Set that they worked on.
- 42:58Speaker 15: Yes.
- 42:59Speaker 12: Yes, it was.
- 43:00Speaker 3: I guess what was it like being immersed in that?
- 43:02Speaker 20: Well, I loved it.
- 43:03Speaker 1: It was shot on the Warner Brothers set. And, you know,
- 43:06Speaker 1: I mean, you'd come on it. It was night shooting
- 43:08Speaker 1: for me. And in just the energy of it, it
- 43:16Speaker 1: was just huge.
- 43:17Speaker 3: It was huge.
- 43:18Speaker 20: It was a major film that I knew would go
- 43:20Speaker 20: on to be phenomenal.
- 43:22Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 43:23Speaker 20: You just felt that way.
- 43:24Speaker 3: There was so much rain in that one.
- 43:25Speaker 20: Yeah, there was a lot.
- 43:26Speaker 1: There was rain. I don't think it was raining when
- 43:28Speaker 1: I jumped the cars and things.
- 43:30Speaker 7: No.
- 43:31Speaker 12: No.
- 43:31Speaker 3: The rest of the movie.
- 43:32Speaker 6: Well, and then I was going to go into Roger Rabbit.
- 43:38Speaker 6: That has to be a very different process for most movies,
- 43:41Speaker 6: just working around creatures that aren't there, I guess. And
- 43:46Speaker 6: that was sort of when they weren't doing that yet.
- 43:48Speaker 6: That was, you know, pre-CG taking over everything. So how
- 43:52Speaker 6: much of an adjustment was.
- 43:53Speaker 3: That for you?
- 43:54Speaker 20: Well, every actor has an imagination. You kind of have to,
- 43:58Speaker 20: but I mean.
- 44:00Speaker 1: Since you don't know what the end result's going to be,
- 44:03Speaker 1: it's not the easiest thing to know where to focus
- 44:08Speaker 1: and make... I mean, because I didn't know what they
- 44:11Speaker 1: were going to put in in the end, so I'm
- 44:13Speaker 1: trying to pick up an eyeline that I thought would work.
- 44:17Speaker 20: And it was not easy. I mean, I have to say,
- 44:21Speaker 20: it wasn't easy.
- 44:22Speaker 1: It got better as it went along, but... You know,
- 44:25Speaker 1: working with Bob Hoskins, who was so brilliant at it.
- 44:27Speaker 1: He was just amazing.
- 44:29Speaker 3: He's an amazing actor. And gets not near enough respect
- 44:31Speaker 3: for what he's done.
- 44:32Speaker 20: No, no, neither have I.
- 44:35Speaker 3: Well, obviously you.
- 44:39Speaker 6: And then I was going to ask, what was it
- 44:41Speaker 6: like working with Robert Zemeckis?
- 44:42Speaker 3: I mean, he has done some of my favorite movies
- 44:45Speaker 3: of all time. That is pretty high up on the list, too.
- 44:48Speaker 3: But he's done such a shift in the way that
- 44:51Speaker 3: he works now as a filmmaker. I guess, what was
- 44:53Speaker 3: he like as a director then?
- 44:55Speaker 1: Well, he's a very kind man, and he's.
- 45:01Speaker 20: Constantly in his imagination.
- 45:03Speaker 1: This was a huge undertaking for him, and he never
- 45:07Speaker 1: let anyone know at the time the kind of pressure
- 45:09Speaker 1: he was under to get this film done.
- 45:11Speaker 4: It was a lot.
- 45:14Speaker 20: I would never want to be in his position.
- 45:17Speaker 1: He had to oversee so much, and so he was
- 45:22Speaker 1: pretty preoccupied.
- 45:23Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 45:26Speaker 1: But a kind man and a very, very extremely bright man.
- 45:30Speaker 6: It's such a weird shift with his new CG stuff.
- 45:33Speaker 6: Are you a fan of those type of movies, the
- 45:35Speaker 6: things that he's in now that are like the completely
- 45:39Speaker 6: CG characters and actors just sort of doing their voices?
- 45:43Speaker 6: You're sort of a template for what the character will be,
- 45:46Speaker 6: but they sort of cover you up with animation.
- 45:48Speaker 3: I was just wondering what your thoughts on that were.
- 45:52Speaker 1: I think we're going to be taking over I mean,
- 45:54Speaker 1: it's sad to say to me. I think that there
- 46:00Speaker 1: are certain directors who are more comfortable working in a
- 46:03Speaker 1: technical area than they are with people.
- 46:06Speaker 20: And I think that.
- 46:10Speaker 20: I could name a few, but.
- 46:12Speaker 1: It's very clear to me that that's... Once the director
- 46:16Speaker 1: moved away from being right on the set and watching
- 46:19Speaker 1: the actor from next to the camera, and he went
- 46:21Speaker 1: over and sat behind the boxes and the video thing,
- 46:25Speaker 1: I said, that's.
- 46:25Speaker 20: The end of that.
- 46:26Speaker 3: It's a different process then.
- 46:28Speaker 1: Well, it really separates the connection, and I've never cared
- 46:34Speaker 1: for it.
- 46:34Speaker 20: I just think it's different filmmaking.
- 46:38Speaker 6: Yeah, I think I've talked to some directors about that,
- 46:40Speaker 6: and I think that's what it is. It's that you
- 46:43Speaker 6: have complete control over everything. So I guess for a director,
- 46:46Speaker 6: it's like the ultimate medium is being able to, you know,
- 46:49Speaker 6: have control over a camera moving that's not really a
- 46:52Speaker 6: camera anymore.
- 46:53Speaker 3: It's just a computer, but yeah, I think that's kind
- 46:56Speaker 3: of where it's going.
- 46:57Speaker 20: I mean, you know, I can understand it from that
- 47:00Speaker 20: point of view. It's just that there's part of me that, is.
- 47:05Speaker 1: Aware of the fact that actors who are, you know,
- 47:09Speaker 1: have frailties and vulnerabilities and can make mistakes can be replaced,
- 47:16Speaker 1: especially when they can be, you know, maneuvered around by
- 47:20Speaker 1: a computer. I mean, you know, so you don't have
- 47:23Speaker 1: to do take six. You do take one.
- 47:24Speaker 11: Or whatever it is.
- 47:26Speaker 3: They manipulate everything from there.
- 47:28Speaker 10: Right.
- 47:28Speaker 6: The other one I was going to hit, we talked
- 47:31Speaker 6: to Daniel Harris about it. I wanted to get your
- 47:33Speaker 6: take on Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Day.
- 47:36Speaker 20: Oh, well, I never had so much fun. I mean,
- 47:40Speaker 20: I just, everyone was just adorable.
- 47:43Speaker 1: And, of course, what always happens to me is I
- 47:45Speaker 1: work with these people and they go on to become
- 47:47Speaker 1: huge megastars.
- 47:49Speaker 20: I mean, like Christina and David Duchovny.
- 47:52Speaker 1: And then there was another little girl who played a secretary.
- 47:55Speaker 20: I can't remember her name.
- 47:56Speaker 3: She was in a.
- 47:59Speaker 20: Thing. And I seem to be this.
- 48:02Speaker 1: this beacon, you know, for all these people that, like,
- 48:06Speaker 1: take a ride off me. You know, I feel like
- 48:08Speaker 1: a spaceship at times.
- 48:10Speaker 3: You're the touchstone. They all come to you.
- 48:12Speaker 11: That's what it is.
- 48:13Speaker 20: I'm a touchstone.
- 48:14Speaker 3: And they, you know, that's what does it for them.
- 48:16Speaker 3: It's you.
- 48:17Speaker 20: It's me. It's me. It's me. And who's going to
- 48:20Speaker 20: be my touchstone?
- 48:22Speaker 3: We've got to figure that out. But, yeah, that's such
- 48:25Speaker 3: a fun movie. I just didn't know yet.
- 48:28Speaker 20: I loved it. I don't know why it wasn't a
- 48:29Speaker 20: bigger hit.
- 48:30Speaker 17: Yeah.
- 48:30Speaker 3: Quite frankly. I don't know.
- 48:33Speaker 6: It came at a time it probably should have been.
- 48:35Speaker 6: I guess there were other movies with that sense of humor.
- 48:37Speaker 1: Oh, you've got to understand. Everything I've done in my
- 48:40Speaker 1: career has been ahead of its time. When I did
- 48:42Speaker 1: Buffalo Bill, and I was nominated for an Emmy, and
- 48:47Speaker 1: I won a Golden Globe off that, and, you know.
- 48:51Speaker 20: I didn't get the Emmy. It went to.
- 48:53Speaker 1: Another actress who I thought did a very mediocre show
- 48:57Speaker 1: at the time.
- 48:58Speaker 20: She was good, but I just didn't think the show
- 49:01Speaker 20: was anything. We've always been ahead of the crowd in
- 49:07Speaker 20: a lot of things that I've done.
- 49:08Speaker 3: A lot of things.
- 49:10Speaker 1: Even including a movie that I did where I played
- 49:12Speaker 1: a woman with early Alzheimer's that came out before Julie
- 49:16Speaker 1: Christie's movie. and nobody wanted anything to do with it
- 49:18Speaker 1: they didn't want to know from it so and it
- 49:21Speaker 1: was very good it was a very good film so
- 49:24Speaker 1: there you go yeah.
- 49:25Speaker 6: Well that's one i was gonna i mean we discussed
- 49:28Speaker 6: some of the underappreciated stuff what's one or two of
- 49:31Speaker 6: the ones that you think should have gotten more recognition,
- 49:34Speaker 6: some of your favorite.
- 49:35Speaker 3: Projects, I guess, that people didn't really take to as
- 49:38Speaker 3: much as they should?
- 49:40Speaker 1: You should have asked me when I had my IMDB
- 49:42Speaker 1: in front of me.
- 49:46Speaker 20: I've really done so much. Honest to God, I get
- 49:49Speaker 20: myself lost sometimes.
- 49:50Speaker 3: You've got quite a resume. Yes, I do.
- 49:52Speaker 7: I do.
- 49:54Speaker 3: No, seriously.
- 49:56Speaker 1: Because there are parts and films that have not shown
- 49:59Speaker 1: up that.
- 50:02Speaker 20: I know are wonderful and nobody's ever seen them.
- 50:05Speaker 6: It's tough to do that much work.
- 50:10Speaker 3: I guess with any movies, you can never tell what's
- 50:12Speaker 3: going to hit and what isn't.
- 50:13Speaker 20: No, you don't. You don't know.
- 50:15Speaker 3: It's a leap of faith. It is a leap of faith.
- 50:20Speaker 20: At this point, I.
- 50:23Speaker 1: I don't think about the future of a film. I
- 50:26Speaker 1: really just want to work and do what I do.
- 50:31Speaker 20: I enjoy it. I intend to be working probably for
- 50:36Speaker 20: the rest of my life.
- 50:37Speaker 6: You're still doing impressive stuff because didn't you just recently
- 50:41Speaker 6: get nominated for another Emmy for Six Feet Under?
- 50:43Speaker 12: Yes, I did.
- 50:45Speaker 1: Well, I was nominated for an Emmy there, and I
- 50:47Speaker 1: was nominated for the Gemini Award.
- 50:49Speaker 20: In the Canadian HBO show Call Me Fitz. What can
- 50:53Speaker 20: I say? It's still happening.
- 50:56Speaker 3: Well, you've done a lot of TV work.
- 50:58Speaker 6: I was told I should ask you about one of
- 51:01Speaker 6: your favorites on Starsky and Hutch.
- 51:05Speaker 13: Oh, yes.
- 51:06Speaker 20: I played a pathological transvestite in that. And I have
- 51:10Speaker 20: the name of the show. It's called The Avenger. It's
- 51:12Speaker 20: in the fourth year, and it was in.
- 51:14Speaker 1: 1978, and I'm going to get a copy of it
- 51:17Speaker 1: because it is the most.
- 51:20Speaker 20: It came out on October 31st, Halloween.
- 51:23Speaker 11: Halloween! Halloween!
- 51:24Speaker 20: My God!
- 51:26Speaker 3: Everybody dress up like a transvestite.
- 51:28Speaker 20: There you go. Well, I was a pretty woman.
- 51:30Speaker 3: Well, obviously.
- 51:32Speaker 20: You know.
- 51:34Speaker 20: It's an amazing piece of work. I should have won
- 51:36Speaker 20: an Emmy for that.
- 51:37Speaker 3: For that.
- 51:38Speaker 11: I'm serious. I'm serious.
- 51:40Speaker 1: So, see, something like that is very frustrating to me
- 51:43Speaker 1: because I didn't have all the parts in places.
- 51:45Speaker 20: I didn't have a publicist.
- 51:47Speaker 1: I didn't have somebody telling me what to do. I
- 51:49Speaker 1: didn't know what to do. I was on my own.
- 51:52Speaker 13: You know.
- 51:53Speaker 1: If I had had a studio behind me, I would
- 51:56Speaker 1: have won an award for that performance.
- 51:58Speaker 20: It was an amazing performance.
- 52:00Speaker 12: Oh, no.
- 52:01Speaker 1: So there have been things in my life and my
- 52:04Speaker 1: career that I have missed because I haven't had the support.
- 52:08Speaker 20: I'm serious. I really have not had the support.
- 52:11Speaker 6: Was it just you didn't know going in? Was it
- 52:13Speaker 6: just kind of ignorance at that point of not knowing
- 52:16Speaker 6: what to get? Or was it just bad luck?
- 52:18Speaker 1: No, it's not bad luck. I needed a mentor.
- 52:27Speaker 20: And I didn't have one.
- 52:29Speaker 1: And I think every actor needs a mentor and a guide,
- 52:33Speaker 1: which is what I do now. I teach kids how
- 52:35Speaker 1: to act, and I try and fill in all the
- 52:39Speaker 1: spaces with them and tell them what to expect, tell
- 52:42Speaker 1: them what to get, what they need to have to
- 52:45Speaker 1: stay in the business, and so on and so on.
- 52:47Speaker 20: And I hit every aspect of it.
- 52:50Speaker 1: So I'm like the mother of these new young kids
- 52:54Speaker 1: coming up, and I... And I like being that because,
- 52:57Speaker 1: damn it, you know, everybody needs that.
- 53:00Speaker 6: Yeah, that's amazing to bother to do that because not
- 53:03Speaker 6: everybody does.
- 53:04Speaker 12: And you don't.
- 53:05Speaker 3: Have to, I suppose.
- 53:06Speaker 6: So it's nice that you're putting it there for the
- 53:10Speaker 6: next generation of actors coming through.
- 53:13Speaker 3: Well, then, is there, again, working a lot?
- 53:16Speaker 6: Is there stuff you want to tell people you've got
- 53:17Speaker 6: in the works to look for coming out?
- 53:20Speaker 20: Well, just, you know, keep your eyes open for.
- 53:25Speaker 1: Body of Proof again and Call Me Fitz the Canadian
- 53:29Speaker 1: HBO and then I did a movie.
- 53:32Speaker 20: Called Doorway that'll be coming out in a few months and.
- 53:37Speaker 1: That was a lovely show to do really lovely that's
- 53:41Speaker 1: about it for now.
- 53:43Speaker 6: Okay I think that was about it thank you for
- 53:46Speaker 6: talking with us today.
- 53:50Speaker 15: The mist is rising, hell in the morning. I wake
- 53:53Speaker 15: up a victim, hot in the haze. My night is shining,
- 53:57Speaker 15: and I'm burning.
- 53:57Speaker 8: I'm trying to surprise. This is my honey.
- 54:02Speaker 4: Is they running?
- 54:05Speaker 7: My honey.
- 54:07Speaker 17: Is they running?
- 54:09Speaker 8: My name.

- 55:48Speaker 5: Creature from the Black Lagoon. Shocking in the realism of
- 55:51Speaker 5: the screen's first underwater three-dimension thrill. Grimly, men of daring
- 55:56Speaker 5: venture into a dread world underwater, stalking a creature of
- 55:59Speaker 5: frightening fury, a creature stirred to strange emotions by its
- 56:03Speaker 5: first sight of a woman. You'll see the most amazing
- 56:08Speaker 5: underwater photography that the screen has ever known in this
- 56:11Speaker 5: strangest of all science fiction adventures. Creature from the Black Lagoon.
- 56:16Speaker 5: Starring Richard Carlson and Julia Adams. Even more amazing in
- 56:20Speaker 5: three dimensions.
- 56:22Speaker 14: I've taken a plastic surgery.
- 56:37Speaker 21: The people say that I'm ugly. I've taken a plastic surgery.
- 56:42Speaker 21: The people say that I'm ugly. Oh, Lord, I've sent
- 56:45Speaker 21: my child by the neighbor. Last Sunday to get some water.
- 56:49Speaker 21: I find the child was staying too long. The neighbor
- 56:52Speaker 21: comes questioning the child upside down. Boy, how your father
- 56:55Speaker 21: ugly so. My boy child just tell them no Yesterday
- 56:59Speaker 21: he passed by me And your father really ugly When
- 57:03Speaker 21: I go home I'm going to tell my mommy All
- 57:06Speaker 21: you say my daddy ugly.
- 57:08Speaker 14: The creature from the black lagoon Is your father No
- 57:11Speaker 14: I'm going to tell my mama The creature from the
- 57:14Speaker 14: black lagoon Is your father No I'm going to tell
- 57:17Speaker 14: my papa.
- 57:25Speaker 6: We're here with Julie Adams. I guess I just wanted
- 57:27Speaker 6: to start early on. Were you, as a child, were
- 57:32Speaker 6: you sort of interested in performing? Were you one of
- 57:34Speaker 6: those kind of kids that was always putting on a show?
- 57:38Speaker 15: Well, I don't know that I was always putting on
- 57:40Speaker 15: a show, but I had a real interest in acting.
- 57:44Speaker 15: And so in school, if there was a play or something,
- 57:49Speaker 15: I was always in the play. And then I did
- 57:52Speaker 15: speech things and so on. And so I always had
- 57:57Speaker 15: that bug that I wanted to be an actress.
- 58:03Speaker 3: At what point, I mean, I guess you were doing
- 58:05Speaker 3: plays in school.
- 58:05Speaker 6: At what point did you decide to take it to
- 58:08Speaker 6: the professional level or at least seek it out in
- 58:10Speaker 6: that way?
- 58:11Speaker 15: Well, I think I had that in mind for a
- 58:15Speaker 15: long time, but I stayed in Arkansas. I went to
- 58:21Speaker 15: junior college, and I did plays in junior college. And
- 58:25Speaker 15: then I wanted, I thought I wanted to go to
- 58:30Speaker 15: New York and try my luck. But my father, my
- 58:35Speaker 15: father's first wife, who lived in Long Beach, California, and
- 58:41Speaker 15: she had always loved him. And she was back once
- 58:44Speaker 15: in Little Rock because she had Arkansas connections as well.
- 58:49Speaker 15: And so I talked to her when I met Ruth.
- 58:53Speaker 15: And she said.
- 58:55Speaker 15: She knew I was interested in acting. She said, well,
- 58:57Speaker 15: if you ever want to come to California, I will
- 59:00Speaker 15: help you. Because she had a bathing suit shop and
- 59:04Speaker 15: she outfitted girls for beauty beauty prizes and that sort
- 59:08Speaker 15: of thing. So she kind of had vague connections with
- 59:11Speaker 15: talent scouts. So that's on that slim chance. That's how
- 59:15Speaker 15: I changed to going to California from New York.
- 59:19Speaker 3: That's pretty good. That's again, still just kind of having
- 59:21Speaker 3: faith and going with it and.
- 59:24Speaker 15: Just embarking, you know, on this crazy thing. My, My
- 59:28Speaker 15: dear Aunt Alice there, I was working at the state
- 59:30Speaker 15: capitol doing secretarial work in the summers. And, of course,
- 59:35Speaker 15: I could have stayed on permanently once I was out
- 59:37Speaker 15: of college. And she said, oh, Betty. That was my
- 59:41Speaker 15: name then, Betty. Oh, Betty, I just hate to see
- 59:43Speaker 15: you give up your job at the state capitol. But
- 59:47Speaker 15: I did.
- 59:47Speaker 6: That's what most people, they want you to get a
- 59:50Speaker 6: good job, steady income.
- 59:51Speaker 15: Absolutely.
- 59:53Speaker 3: It's hard to convince them.
- 59:54Speaker 15: That's right. So I went on my... This crazy goof chase.
- 1:00:01Speaker 6: Well, you brought up one of the things I was
- 1:00:03Speaker 6: going to ask. You went through a couple of name changes.
- 1:00:05Speaker 6: What prompted that?
- 1:00:07Speaker 15: Well, it really was.
- 1:00:10Speaker 15: I didn't change my name until I got to Universal.
- 1:00:14Speaker 15: And they wanted to change my name. I don't know
- 1:00:19Speaker 15: how it came up, but anyway, somebody said Julia Adams.
- 1:00:22Speaker 15: It was Julia first. And so I thought, that sounds
- 1:00:24Speaker 15: pretty good. So it was all right with me.
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: It was just a random, they didn't like the original?
- 1:00:29Speaker 15: I don't know, somebody, right, right, right. So I was
- 1:00:33Speaker 15: so happy to get a contract. I wasn't going to
- 1:00:36Speaker 15: argue with them about changing my name. Who cares?
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: It's just funny, they always used to do that, it
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: seems like. That's right.
- 1:00:42Speaker 6: And now nobody worries about that.
- 1:00:44Speaker 20: No, that's right.
- 1:00:45Speaker 15: That's interesting.
- 1:00:48Speaker 6: I was going to get into some of the individual
- 1:00:50Speaker 6: ones and see if you had any stories or.
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: Anything to go along with them.
- 1:00:54Speaker 6: I guess Bend of the River was pretty big. I mean,
- 1:00:58Speaker 6: working with Jimmy Stewart.
- 1:01:00Speaker 15: Bend of the River was a great opportunity for me
- 1:01:04Speaker 15: because working with James Stewart was so great. And he
- 1:01:11Speaker 15: looked at some of my film. He had to okay me.
- 1:01:14Speaker 15: And so I was thrilled to have the job. and
- 1:01:17Speaker 15: we went on location, and I remembered so distinctly one day,
- 1:01:21Speaker 15: we were doing a scene, I'm in the back of
- 1:01:24Speaker 15: a covered wagon, and he's just standing outside, and it's
- 1:01:27Speaker 15: a little conversation that we have, not a big scene, but,
- 1:01:32Speaker 15: so we did the two-shot, and then they did his
- 1:01:34Speaker 15: close-up first, and I so clearly remember watching him, and
- 1:01:38Speaker 15: I thought, How does he do that? He is not, quote,
- 1:01:44Speaker 15: doing anything, and yet everything is there. That's screen acting.
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: It was just effortless for him.
- 1:01:51Speaker 15: That's right, and I thought, that's what I want. So
- 1:01:56Speaker 15: that's the way you learn, is working with really good
- 1:02:00Speaker 15: people like that.
- 1:02:01Speaker 6: Well, I guess it was right around then you did
- 1:02:03Speaker 6: Creature from the Black Lagoon. Could you have imagined the
- 1:02:07Speaker 6: impact that it was going to make?
- 1:02:11Speaker 15: Of course not. If anybody had told me that 50-something
- 1:02:15Speaker 15: years later we would still even be talking about this movie,
- 1:02:19Speaker 15: I would have said, are you crazy? And when I
- 1:02:22Speaker 15: got the assignment, because I'd also done a film, one
- 1:02:27Speaker 15: of my first things at Universal was with Arthur Kennedy
- 1:02:29Speaker 15: about a blinded veteran. It was a very interesting film.
- 1:02:33Speaker 15: So I'd been working with people that were very skilled,
- 1:02:37Speaker 15: and I thought, creature from the what what is this
- 1:02:41Speaker 15: and i thought well if i turn it down i
- 1:02:43Speaker 15: won't get paid and i'm going suspension and i thought
- 1:02:48Speaker 15: oh well what the hey it won't take that long
- 1:02:51Speaker 15: it might be fun and indeed it was but if
- 1:02:55Speaker 15: anybody told me we'd still be talking about it I'm
- 1:02:58Speaker 15: just this long after I said are you.
- 1:03:01Speaker 6: Out of your mind well it was it was late
- 1:03:04Speaker 6: in the universal monster series had you at least seen
- 1:03:07Speaker 6: the earlier ones were you familiar with like the dracula's
- 1:03:09Speaker 6: and frankenstein.
- 1:03:10Speaker 15: Oh yeah I'd like I'd like those as as a
- 1:03:13Speaker 15: kid you know really you know those those were thrilling
- 1:03:17Speaker 15: but uh.
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: Did you have any idea you were sort of being
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: brought into that family?
- 1:03:23Speaker 15: No, I did not. It was a shock to be
- 1:03:25Speaker 15: brought into that family.
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: It was just another movie at the time. Little did
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: you know.
- 1:03:30Speaker 15: Little did I know, absolutely.
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: You'd be living with this big green guy for.
- 1:03:33Speaker 15: The rest of your life. He's a big man in
- 1:03:36Speaker 15: my life, right?
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: That's true.
- 1:03:38Speaker 15: Here he is, right over, behind us here.
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: Well, then, I guess what was the shoot itself? I mean,
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: how much... I know Riku did a lot of weird
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: swimming stuff.
- 1:03:49Speaker 6: How much were you involved in the underwater stuff and
- 1:03:54Speaker 6: all that?
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: There's a lot of those scenes where you're sort of
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: dragged underwater or pulled off the boat.
- 1:03:58Speaker 15: Well, I was not involved in any of the underwater things.
- 1:04:02Speaker 15: And also, although I'm a good swimmer, I was a
- 1:04:05Speaker 15: good swimmer, I did the above, you know, the water
- 1:04:09Speaker 15: swimming on the surface. But also, I didn't know how
- 1:04:12Speaker 15: to dive. I'd never learned how to dive. So polyberson.
- 1:04:15Speaker 15: did the dive for me in the picture, and then
- 1:04:22Speaker 15: I had a double in Florida as well. Ginger Stanley
- 1:04:26Speaker 15: doubled me underwater and so on. So I didn't have
- 1:04:31Speaker 15: to work that hard, really. I can't think about it.
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: That's it.
- 1:04:36Speaker 6: I mean, it's some amazing underwater shots, and especially for
- 1:04:39Speaker 6: the time, the fact that they got some of that
- 1:04:41Speaker 6: stuff that I don't think you could duplicate now.
- 1:04:43Speaker 4: It's just amazing looking.
- 1:04:44Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:04:45Speaker 15: It was very well directed and very well shot, beautifully shot.
- 1:04:49Speaker 15: So it's remarkable, and it's still popular today.
- 1:04:53Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 1:04:55Speaker 6: Going through some of the other ones, and then you've
- 1:04:57Speaker 6: worked with some really big names. One that I forgot
- 1:05:00Speaker 6: was Francis.
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: One of the biggest actors in Hollywood.
- 1:05:04Speaker 15: That's right, the talking mule.
- 1:05:06Speaker 13: Right, right.
- 1:05:08Speaker 6: But again, looking at that, it's funny that I mean,
- 1:05:13Speaker 6: I guess it's not any different now. There's just as
- 1:05:15Speaker 6: many talking animal movies now as there were then, so
- 1:05:18Speaker 6: that part doesn't seem that strange. But in watching it,
- 1:05:20Speaker 6: it's funny how much it deals with, like, gender roles
- 1:05:23Speaker 6: and how it's... Oh, absolutely. It's so, like, you know,
- 1:05:26Speaker 6: not only... So I was wondering what your... I mean,
- 1:05:28Speaker 6: not only has the world sort of shifted a little
- 1:05:31Speaker 6: with gender roles, but definitely in Hollywood, how it's been
- 1:05:34Speaker 6: for you dealing with that as it goes on.
- 1:05:36Speaker 13: Right.
- 1:05:37Speaker 15: Well, it's... That was fun because this was called Francis
- 1:05:41Speaker 15: Joins the Wax.
- 1:05:42Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:05:42Speaker 15: And so I think I was a lieutenant or something.
- 1:05:44Speaker 15: I was not just a, you know, a private whatever
- 1:05:48Speaker 15: they call them, you know.
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: You were ordering everybody else around.
- 1:05:50Speaker 11: That's right.
- 1:05:50Speaker 15: So I was kind of in charge of my, of
- 1:05:54Speaker 15: the wax section. And I had a lot of fun
- 1:05:58Speaker 15: making it. I thought at first, a Francis movie and
- 1:06:02Speaker 15: the things, and we were talking mule. And then, of course,
- 1:06:07Speaker 15: they went, I loved working with Donald O'Connor. Donald O'Connor
- 1:06:10Speaker 15: was so wonderful and funny. And so I had a
- 1:06:14Speaker 15: great time.
- 1:06:14Speaker 11: Doing the movie.
- 1:06:15Speaker 7: I really did.
- 1:06:15Speaker 15: I had considered turning it down, but I was very
- 1:06:21Speaker 15: wise not to.
- 1:06:23Speaker 6: Was it, again, dealing with the whole gender issue, is
- 1:06:27Speaker 6: that something that had come up.
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: In Hollywood, like working in the industry?
- 1:06:31Speaker 6: Is it something that you felt they were only giving
- 1:06:33Speaker 6: you specific roles because of that?
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: Well....
- 1:06:40Speaker 15: I don't know about specific roles. I mean, yeah, certainly
- 1:06:44Speaker 15: women were, you know, very rarely the stars. You know,
- 1:06:51Speaker 15: it was more of a male-oriented thing, except with certain
- 1:06:55Speaker 15: real female movie stars. But once I got to working,
- 1:07:01Speaker 15: I didn't really mind that. For instance, The Private War
- 1:07:05Speaker 15: of Major Benson with Charlton Heston.
- 1:07:07Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:07:07Speaker 15: I was, he's the star, but I had a wonderful role.
- 1:07:11Speaker 15: I was a teacher, and there were things about the children,
- 1:07:15Speaker 15: and there were things, and so she was a very
- 1:07:17Speaker 15: strong person. So I quickly put that aside, because it
- 1:07:23Speaker 15: depended on the role, depended on the relationships.
- 1:07:26Speaker 6: It's just funny how much they sort of change, especially
- 1:07:29Speaker 6: the further back you go, the more they sort of like,
- 1:07:31Speaker 6: put the women up on a pedestal or treat them differently.
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: Yes, yes.
- 1:07:34Speaker 6: Because even in Bend of the River, like, when he
- 1:07:38Speaker 6: starts talking to the doc about, you know, we've got somebody,
- 1:07:41Speaker 6: you know, he thinks Jimmy Stewart has been shot with
- 1:07:44Speaker 6: the arrow, and he tells him, ah, just break it off.
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: It'll fall out.
- 1:07:47Speaker 15: Oh, gosh, right.
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: And then they go, no, it's a woman. He's like, oh, okay.
- 1:07:50Speaker 3: And then they lay you up in bed for, like,
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: a month. That's right.
- 1:07:53Speaker 15: That's right.
- 1:07:53Speaker 13: Oh, yes.
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: I was like, well, that's... weird.
- 1:07:56Speaker 15: That's right this woman could have been up a lot
- 1:07:59Speaker 15: sooner than that right i was.
- 1:08:01Speaker 3: Like i was i thought that was so funny.
- 1:08:03Speaker 15: Oh yeah but absolutely but i didn't argue with him
- 1:08:07Speaker 15: it was it was easy.
- 1:08:09Speaker 6: I'm gonna go to this scene in bed right now
- 1:08:11Speaker 6: that's right take a nap.
- 1:08:12Speaker 15: For a while i got a little nervous with the
- 1:08:14Speaker 15: the arrow shooting scene because yeah they put a whole
- 1:08:17Speaker 15: thing on my shoulder here to And then they ran
- 1:08:20Speaker 15: a wire up to the guy with the arrow. So
- 1:08:23Speaker 15: I was grateful for the wire.
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: Afraid they're actually going to shoot you.
- 1:08:28Speaker 15: That's right. But they all took very good care of me.
- 1:08:32Speaker 11: Definitely.
- 1:08:33Speaker 3: Well, you mentioned Charlton Heston. What was it like working
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: with him on that one?
- 1:08:37Speaker 15: I liked him very much. I liked him very much.
- 1:08:40Speaker 15: He was very good for the part. And because he
- 1:08:44Speaker 15: was a fellow who was a real Army man, And
- 1:08:48Speaker 15: took himself rather seriously, which Charlton Heston did take himself
- 1:08:51Speaker 15: rather seriously.
- 1:08:52Speaker 4: Yeah, definitely.
- 1:08:53Speaker 15: And he was very good in the part. He was
- 1:08:55Speaker 15: excellent and a very attractive man.
- 1:08:58Speaker 6: He's got a very specific acting style. too.
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: Like, some stuff it works for, and that's, yeah, when
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: you find it, it's a perfect.
- 1:09:07Speaker 11: Match.
- 1:09:07Speaker 3: Well, I could not ask about working with Elvis. I mean,
- 1:09:12Speaker 3: that's pretty huge. Not everybody can say that.
- 1:09:16Speaker 15: Well, I tell you, he was.
- 1:09:20Speaker 15: Very charming young man. And I really liked him. And
- 1:09:24Speaker 15: he's from the South, and I was raised in the South.
- 1:09:28Speaker 15: And so I recognized him. He was a very, this
- 1:09:32Speaker 15: kind of courtesy about young Southern men that a lot
- 1:09:35Speaker 15: of fellas don't have. And he had that quality, which
- 1:09:38Speaker 15: is very charming. Very charming. And I just really liked him.
- 1:09:43Speaker 15: I enjoyed working with him. And I enjoyed playing the
- 1:09:47Speaker 15: scenes with him. And he was just so good. And
- 1:09:51Speaker 15: then when he did the musical numbers and the nightclub thing,
- 1:09:56Speaker 15: I just sat and watched because he did this thing
- 1:09:58Speaker 15: walking from table to table and singing or matching the whatever.
- 1:10:03Speaker 15: Did it in one take. So I was really in
- 1:10:07Speaker 15: awe of him.
- 1:10:09Speaker 6: Yeah, especially with musicals, a lot of times you're just like,
- 1:10:11Speaker 6: here comes another song. And then with that one, it's like,
- 1:10:14Speaker 6: But it's Elvis, so you're just like, you get sucked in.
- 1:10:16Speaker 6: It's like, oh, well, this is a really good song.
- 1:10:18Speaker 15: That's right. And he was wonderful. He was wonderful. So
- 1:10:22Speaker 15: I always treasured working with him and getting to know
- 1:10:25Speaker 15: him as a person. Because one day, I don't know,
- 1:10:29Speaker 15: there was a pause between things, and he, I don't know,
- 1:10:32Speaker 15: we got to talking, and it came around, and he
- 1:10:34Speaker 15: started talking about being in the service and how he
- 1:10:37Speaker 15: just wanted to be one of the guys. And I
- 1:10:41Speaker 15: felt this empathy for him because, of course... Elvis Presley,
- 1:10:45Speaker 15: being drafted into the Army, is not just one of
- 1:10:48Speaker 15: the guys. And couldn't be. But I felt for him.
- 1:10:52Speaker 15: And I thought, yeah, that made him feel very separate
- 1:10:56Speaker 15: from everybody.
- 1:10:57Speaker 3: I think that was probably true his whole life.
- 1:10:59Speaker 6: Like, he always seemed like he wanted to have a
- 1:11:02Speaker 6: normal life and, like, nobody around him would let him.
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: Colonel, specifically, as the stories go.
- 1:11:07Speaker 15: Whatever.
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: Was he around? Was the Colonel, like.
- 1:11:11Speaker 15: Well, the Colonel was around some.
- 1:11:13Speaker 11: But.
- 1:11:14Speaker 15: As I said, my memories of him are just really
- 1:11:16Speaker 15: of this really nice young southern gentleman that was just
- 1:11:21Speaker 15: really gifted. I mean, as I said, I watched in
- 1:11:24Speaker 15: awe as he did the musical numbers. Anybody can do this.
- 1:11:28Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:11:29Speaker 13: Ha-ha.
- 1:11:30Speaker 3: Yeah, a natural talent, I guess.
- 1:11:34Speaker 15: It comes right out. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:11:37Speaker 6: Again, just kind of going through a lot of the
- 1:11:38Speaker 6: big people you worked with. I was going to ask you,
- 1:11:41Speaker 6: McHugh with John Wayne.
- 1:11:43Speaker 11: Oh, yes.
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: He's another very iconic character. Iconic.
- 1:11:48Speaker 11: Absolutely.
- 1:11:49Speaker 15: I loved working with him. We had a scene. I
- 1:11:55Speaker 15: played his ex-wife. And we had a daughter together. So
- 1:12:00Speaker 15: we had a scene about that. But there were all
- 1:12:04Speaker 15: kinds of undercurrents of the relationship in the scene. It
- 1:12:07Speaker 15: was a well-written scene. And I really enjoyed working with him.
- 1:12:13Speaker 15: And it was really fun because it had a lot
- 1:12:18Speaker 15: of shadings that movie scenes don't have always. And he
- 1:12:22Speaker 15: was so... I really liked him enormously. And I would
- 1:12:26Speaker 15: have enjoyed working with him. Again, I never got a
- 1:12:28Speaker 15: chance to. But I liked him and I respected him.
- 1:12:35Speaker 6: The only other one who's going to ask, they brought
- 1:12:39Speaker 6: you in in Black Roses.
- 1:12:41Speaker 3: I was going to see if that was like your
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: return to the horror.
- 1:12:44Speaker 15: That's right. That was called Tilt.
- 1:12:47Speaker 7: But.
- 1:12:53Speaker 15: I always sort of embark on things, if it's offbeat
- 1:12:57Speaker 15: or whatever, and you kind of just say, okay, you
- 1:13:00Speaker 15: roll with the punches and, you know, it's a job
- 1:13:04Speaker 15: and it's a movie and let's have fun with it.
- 1:13:07Speaker 15: Let's enjoy it.
- 1:13:09Speaker 20: And I did.
- 1:13:11Speaker 15: I enjoyed the character that I played. It was interesting.
- 1:13:17Speaker 15: But it turned out fine for me.
- 1:13:19Speaker 3: And I remember.
- 1:13:22Speaker 15: being rather shocked when the movie came out. And it
- 1:13:24Speaker 15: got reviewed in the New York Times, and I got
- 1:13:26Speaker 15: a very nice mention in the review. So I said, well,
- 1:13:30Speaker 15: it wasn't so bad.
- 1:13:30Speaker 6: Horror fans are very dedicated. If there's an actor that
- 1:13:36Speaker 6: they like and they keep seeing him come up in movies,
- 1:13:39Speaker 6: so it's funny that even going back as far as Creature,
- 1:13:41Speaker 6: they love having their horror actors come back and be
- 1:13:46Speaker 6: in movies.
- 1:13:46Speaker 15: Yeah, interesting.
- 1:13:47Speaker 7: Definitely.
- 1:13:48Speaker 19: That's funny.
- 1:13:49Speaker 6: Well, you've been in so many things over the years,
- 1:13:52Speaker 6: and I was talking to Joanne here this week, and
- 1:13:55Speaker 6: I kind of asked her the same thing. Is there
- 1:13:57Speaker 6: something that you feel, out of all these different ones
- 1:14:00Speaker 6: that maybe we haven't mentioned, that is sort of an
- 1:14:02Speaker 6: underappreciated movie or something that you really like that you
- 1:14:05Speaker 6: felt like never caught on the way it should have?
- 1:14:08Speaker 20: Well, let's see.
- 1:14:10Speaker 15: It's hard to say. No, I think where I got
- 1:14:14Speaker 15: a great deal of pleasure was I would take some
- 1:14:17Speaker 15: time and do things on the stage. so that when
- 1:14:21Speaker 15: I did a play like Long Day's Journey Into Night,
- 1:14:24Speaker 15: that was a great step for me in another sphere
- 1:14:30Speaker 15: and also something that tested me in many ways and
- 1:14:35Speaker 15: that I feel that there was really.
- 1:14:38Speaker 7: A.
- 1:14:38Speaker 15: I got some kind of a little award in Los
- 1:14:41Speaker 15: Angeles for it. I was very thrilled to get that
- 1:14:44Speaker 15: in one of the stage things because... It was something
- 1:14:48Speaker 15: that I related to a lot from my life, my childhood.
- 1:14:53Speaker 15: And that I could play that. And it's a very
- 1:14:59Speaker 15: dark play. But it's very truthful.
- 1:15:05Speaker 4: It's very truthful.
- 1:15:07Speaker 15: And I've never been a great crier in movies. I mean,
- 1:15:10Speaker 15: when there's a crying scene, it's sort of hard for
- 1:15:13Speaker 15: me to conjure up the tears. And this play... I
- 1:15:17Speaker 15: would just, and tears would just flow down my face,
- 1:15:20Speaker 15: you know, so it was a great kind of experience
- 1:15:23Speaker 15: for me, another kind of experience.
- 1:15:26Speaker 3: Yeah, did you, you say you did a good amount
- 1:15:28Speaker 3: of plays, or did you sort of mix it up
- 1:15:29Speaker 3: with the.
- 1:15:30Speaker 12: Movies over the years?
- 1:15:30Speaker 15: Oh, I did, then I did a lot of plays.
- 1:15:32Speaker 15: I began to go out and be a guest artist
- 1:15:35Speaker 15: in plays in the Midwest, or maybe in the East,
- 1:15:38Speaker 15: and so on, and it was great fun, because I
- 1:15:41Speaker 15: started doing comedies, and comedies are a on the stage
- 1:15:45Speaker 15: are great fun because you get laughs.
- 1:15:47Speaker 13: You know.
- 1:15:48Speaker 3: It's just, the audience, you can hear the audience.
- 1:15:50Speaker 15: You hear the, right, right, right. It's not like, you know,
- 1:15:52Speaker 15: filming a comedy, you know.
- 1:15:54Speaker 3: It's very different.
- 1:15:54Speaker 15: I mean, you know if it's working because if they
- 1:15:57Speaker 15: don't laugh, you know, you didn't get your laugh. You
- 1:16:00Speaker 15: better go back and look at it again, you know. Definitely. So,
- 1:16:04Speaker 15: and I loved it. I did several comedies, yeah, or guested.
- 1:16:10Speaker 15: So I loved it. It was a great time to
- 1:16:12Speaker 15: sort of, It's like stretching your wings to get a
- 1:16:16Speaker 15: larger venue, so to speak.
- 1:16:19Speaker 6: Well, you've got, again, so many interesting stories, and you've
- 1:16:22Speaker 6: recently put them into a book.
- 1:16:24Speaker 3: You want to tell people about that?
- 1:16:27Speaker 15: Yes. It's The Lucky Southern Star. It's The Lucky Southern Star,
- 1:16:33Speaker 15: and I think it's a pretty good book. We actually
- 1:16:37Speaker 15: got pretty good reviews, and I've had a good response
- 1:16:40Speaker 15: to it. because it's autobiographical, but it has a lot
- 1:16:46Speaker 15: of stories about the work and so on that I
- 1:16:52Speaker 15: put into it. So perhaps any young actress might be
- 1:16:55Speaker 15: interested in the book simply because it has a, A
- 1:16:58Speaker 15: lot of talk about developing, learning.
- 1:17:02Speaker 3: Just going into the rest of your career.
- 1:17:05Speaker 6: The big green guy overshadows a lot of stuff.
- 1:17:08Speaker 15: That's right.
- 1:17:09Speaker 3: It's good to shine the light on the rest of
- 1:17:10Speaker 3: the stuff. Right, right, right.
- 1:17:12Speaker 15: And going through things like losing my southern accent.
- 1:17:15Speaker 3: That's a lot to do.
- 1:17:18Speaker 15: Right, right, right.
- 1:17:19Speaker 6: Well, I guess what's the best way for people to
- 1:17:22Speaker 6: find it? Can they go to your website or.
- 1:17:25Speaker 15: Yes, it's on my website, and a number of bookstores
- 1:17:28Speaker 15: carry it.
- 1:17:29Speaker 6: I'm sure Amazon, so yeah, just send them out looking
- 1:17:32Speaker 6: for it.
- 1:17:32Speaker 3: It's the Lucky Southern Star.
- 1:17:34Speaker 11: Yes, that's right.
- 1:17:36Speaker 3: Very cool.
- 1:17:36Speaker 15: Thank you so much.
- 1:17:38Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 1:17:38Speaker 12: Yeah, thanks for talking to me.
- 1:17:39Speaker 5: It was fun.

- 1:20:43Speaker 1: dozen bodies limed and rotting in shallow graves under the
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: floorboards we're working.
- 1:20:47Speaker 13: On that.
- 1:20:49Speaker 7: It's part of your problem, you know, you haven't seen
- 1:20:51Speaker 7: enough movies.
- 1:20:52Speaker 8: All of life's riddles are answered in the movies. And now,
- 1:20:56Speaker 8: on with the show.
- 1:20:57Speaker 19: There's a.
- 1:21:03Speaker 15: Shattering sound.
- 1:21:41Speaker 11: Because they were squirrels. Real squirrels.
- 1:21:49Speaker 17: And there were thousands.
- 1:21:57Speaker 3: This isn't some kind of metaphor.
- 1:22:03Speaker 7: Goddamn, this is real.
- 1:22:06Speaker 3: All right, so we are back. We're here wrapping up
- 1:22:08Speaker 3: this episode, Misty.
- 1:22:10Speaker 12: Yes.
- 1:22:11Speaker 3: Jay's already bailed. He had to go home, so.
- 1:22:13Speaker 11: He had parental duties.
- 1:22:14Speaker 3: You have to, well, you better go take care of
- 1:22:16Speaker 3: your squirrel.
- 1:22:17Speaker 11: I do, totally. I'm sad. I've probably missed him. He's
- 1:22:20Speaker 11: probably already gone back to his squirrel house by now.
- 1:22:22Speaker 11: I'm depressed. Maybe I'll see him tomorrow.
- 1:22:25Speaker 12: I think.
- 1:22:25Speaker 11: I'll wait outside all day.
- 1:22:27Speaker 3: I think it's a safe bet someday you'll be in
- 1:22:28Speaker 3: a squirrel house.
- 1:22:29Speaker 12: Anyway.
- 1:22:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:22:30Speaker 11: You know. Because I'm nuts.
- 1:22:32Speaker 6: So, yeah, I'll let you do your wrap-up. I will
- 1:22:36Speaker 6: be back for a whole other episode somewhere down the line.
- 1:22:38Speaker 11: I'm going to assume that I'm not going to be
- 1:22:39Speaker 11: here tomorrow because I'm a slacker. But whatever. I didn't
- 1:22:43Speaker 11: find anything I desperately need except for a little Godzilla
- 1:22:47Speaker 11: stomping the hell out of Smither. I don't know who
- 1:22:48Speaker 11: he's stomping, but it was pretty funny.
- 1:22:50Speaker 4: I got a roadie.
- 1:22:50Speaker 12: You did.
- 1:22:51Speaker 11: Awesome. And I got my picture taken with the aliens guy.
- 1:22:56Speaker 3: I like that even we're not really sure what his
- 1:22:58Speaker 3: name is.
- 1:22:59Speaker 11: It's Giorgio.
- 1:23:00Speaker 6: It's Giorgio from Ancient Aliens for you guys. But it's
- 1:23:02Speaker 6: funny that everyone, you know, he has a line, and
- 1:23:05Speaker 6: I specifically brought somebody in. I told them about him,
- 1:23:08Speaker 6: and they got all excited, and they came and saw him.
- 1:23:10Speaker 6: So he's got his fans, but it's funny, like, everybody
- 1:23:12Speaker 6: in our camp was just like, Who's that guy with
- 1:23:15Speaker 6: the crazy hair?
- 1:23:15Speaker 11: He's that one guy from all, like, the memes and everything.
- 1:23:19Speaker 11: Most of the aliens. That's all I have. I've never
- 1:23:21Speaker 11: seen him, like, actually in person before. He's a lot
- 1:23:23Speaker 11: shorter than I had anticipated. And he insulted me.
- 1:23:26Speaker 3: Well, he insulted Corey. That's worse than insulting you, really.
- 1:23:30Speaker 11: Dude, he asked if I had Justin Bieber tattooed on
- 1:23:34Speaker 11: my leg. I was like, uh, no. That's Corey Haim,
- 1:23:38Speaker 11: and that is an insult.
- 1:23:39Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:23:39Speaker 3: That's reason to smack him i'm telling you and then.
- 1:23:42Speaker 11: He asked if i was carrying around a little chewbacca
- 1:23:44Speaker 11: in my purse and uh no that would be.
- 1:23:46Speaker 6: Winchester yeah that's winchester any any longtime fans are familiar
- 1:23:50Speaker 6: with winchester he's a wolf man and if you're a
- 1:23:52Speaker 6: member of the secret circle we're going to send you
- 1:23:53Speaker 6: pictures of winchester who is hanging out here today with
- 1:23:57Speaker 6: bruce we have a new little misty found this uh
- 1:24:00Speaker 6: stuffed shark that is now you know hanging out on
- 1:24:02Speaker 6: our table so his name's bruce bruce the shark he's
- 1:24:05Speaker 6: hanging out with with winchester and they were they were
- 1:24:08Speaker 6: They were selling t-shirts.
- 1:24:09Speaker 11: Drinking buddies.
- 1:24:10Speaker 3: Drinking coffee and hanging out on Jeff the mixer board.
- 1:24:13Speaker 12: So, you know.
- 1:24:13Speaker 11: Oh, his name's Jeff?
- 1:24:15Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:24:16Speaker 11: I didn't know you had a name.
- 1:24:16Speaker 3: Because Jeff paid for it.
- 1:24:18Speaker 17: Oh.
- 1:24:18Speaker 11: Who's Jeff?
- 1:24:19Speaker 6: Jeff, our awesomest fan who gives his money because he's
- 1:24:22Speaker 6: nice and he believes in the show.
- 1:24:24Speaker 11: You should write his name on there with the glitter paint.
- 1:24:26Speaker 6: No, I want it embossed like a Cadillac. No, I
- 1:24:29Speaker 6: want the little Cadillac thing. I want it printed out
- 1:24:31Speaker 6: in plastic and all cursive-y.
- 1:24:32Speaker 11: I want glitter puffy paint.
- 1:24:34Speaker 12: Oh, Lord.
- 1:24:34Speaker 11: I had so many puffy paint shirts when I was
- 1:24:37Speaker 11: a kid. I'd bust that shit out.
- 1:24:39Speaker 3: You'd be wearing them now if you could.
- 1:24:41Speaker 11: If I could find them.
- 1:24:41Speaker 3: They all fell off.
- 1:24:42Speaker 11: I know.
- 1:24:42Speaker 3: Puffy paint don't really last.
- 1:24:43Speaker 12: Oh, my God.
- 1:24:45Speaker 11: But yeah, I was insulted by the aliens guy. But whatever,
- 1:24:49Speaker 11: I still got a picture with him. With my very
- 1:24:52Speaker 11: forced fake smile. Whatever. Well, the guy had to take
- 1:24:55Speaker 11: three pictures before he got it right.
- 1:24:58Speaker 3: People are special. What are you going to do?
- 1:25:00Speaker 11: But yeah, that was pretty exciting.
- 1:25:02Speaker 3: You do have a sticker that you're going to.
- 1:25:05Speaker 11: Yeah, he gave me three stickers.
- 1:25:06Speaker 3: No, let's talk about the bumper sticker, though.
- 1:25:08Speaker 11: Oh, let me break it out real quick. The ancient
- 1:25:13Speaker 11: alien on board. Sticker? Is that the one you're referring to?
- 1:25:17Speaker 3: That's cool.
- 1:25:19Speaker 11: I'm going to go find your truck out in the
- 1:25:21Speaker 11: parking lot. I'm going to put it on it.
- 1:25:24Speaker 3: I got a razor. I can take it back off.
- 1:25:26Speaker 11: And then he gave me one with his face on it.
- 1:25:28Speaker 11: That's pretty awesome.
- 1:25:30Speaker 3: It is funny. He has crazy hair.
- 1:25:33Speaker 13: He does.
- 1:25:34Speaker 3: I think that doesn't really need to be stated, but
- 1:25:36Speaker 3: I'm stating it anyway.
- 1:25:37Speaker 11: He does have crazy hair. Make sure he's not still
- 1:25:39Speaker 11: in the room.
- 1:25:40Speaker 3: He's just lurking behind you.
- 1:25:42Speaker 11: I'm pretty sure I saw him walk out earlier. Okay,
- 1:25:46Speaker 11: that's not him either.
- 1:25:49Speaker 13: Nice.
- 1:25:50Speaker 11: But, yeah, there's been quite the extravaganza of people to see.
- 1:25:54Speaker 11: I did not know that Jawas are fuzzy. We've decided
- 1:25:58Speaker 11: that apparently when Jawas are young, much like baby chickens.
- 1:26:01Speaker 3: And ducks.
- 1:26:02Speaker 11: They're fuzzy. Fuzzy.
- 1:26:04Speaker 3: And then they grow out of it, and they just
- 1:26:05Speaker 3: become adult Jawas, which are not really much taller than
- 1:26:08Speaker 3: baby Jawas.
- 1:26:09Speaker 11: And not fuzzy, apparently.
- 1:26:10Speaker 3: And I guess not fuzzy.
- 1:26:11Speaker 11: But they're fluffy. It was weird.
- 1:26:13Speaker 3: You should go over and pet them. Oh, look at
- 1:26:14Speaker 3: the little Jawa.
- 1:26:15Speaker 11: Nobody wants to pet a Jawa.
- 1:26:17Speaker 12: No.
- 1:26:17Speaker 3: It's just a little baby.
- 1:26:21Speaker 11: It's just a little baby.
- 1:26:28Speaker 3: Your eyes light up when you say that.
- 1:26:30Speaker 11: Yes, they do. But I'm tired. I'm trying to think
- 1:26:34Speaker 11: if there's anything else we need to discuss during this extravaganza.
- 1:26:38Speaker 11: It's been a pretty good year. I was still surprised
- 1:26:41Speaker 11: Bill Moseley was here. He didn't give me any cookies.
- 1:26:43Speaker 3: Not so far, but maybe I'll get some tomorrow when
- 1:26:45Speaker 3: you aren't here.
- 1:26:47Speaker 11: You probably will.
- 1:26:48Speaker 3: I'll stock up on all the cookies when you're not here.
- 1:26:50Speaker 11: That's all right. I don't like pecan sandies anyways.
- 1:26:52Speaker 6: But they're Bill Moseley pecan sandies.
- 1:26:54Speaker 11: But I've already had one.
- 1:26:55Speaker 12: Fine then.
- 1:26:56Speaker 7: I know.
- 1:26:57Speaker 3: More cookies for me.
- 1:26:58Speaker 11: More cookies for you.
- 1:26:59Speaker 6: But, yes, it's been another fun year. It's been, again,
- 1:27:03Speaker 6: we've lost count of how many years. I don't know,
- 1:27:05Speaker 6: like 15 years I've been coming at this thing.
- 1:27:08Speaker 11: I've been coming for, I think it's 11 years. This
- 1:27:12Speaker 11: has been my 11th year because my mom's wedding anniversary
- 1:27:15Speaker 11: was 10 years ago last year. So she'll never let
- 1:27:19Speaker 11: me forget that I made her postpone her wedding so
- 1:27:21Speaker 11: that I could get George Romero's autograph. So this is
- 1:27:24Speaker 11: my 11th year.
- 1:27:25Speaker 3: I'm telling you, geek cred for you for that one.
- 1:27:27Speaker 3: That's major geek cred as far.
- 1:27:29Speaker 10: As I'm concerned.
- 1:27:29Speaker 11: It ain't my fault she chose the only day out
- 1:27:32Speaker 11: of the year that George Romero was going to be
- 1:27:34Speaker 11: at Wonderfest signing autographs for free.
- 1:27:37Speaker 3: And that was back when he didn't even do a
- 1:27:38Speaker 3: lot of appearances. That's the only time I'd seen him
- 1:27:40Speaker 3: at that point.
- 1:27:40Speaker 11: And he was signing for free.
- 1:27:42Speaker 6: Well, we don't even want to go into that because
- 1:27:43Speaker 6: they'll just be jealous that they can't go back in
- 1:27:45Speaker 6: time unless they finish their time machine.
- 1:27:49Speaker 11: The one Jeremiah's going to use to take over the world? No.
- 1:27:51Speaker 11: Make the world fair?
- 1:27:52Speaker 3: I'm making my own time machine.
- 1:27:54Speaker 13: All right.
- 1:27:55Speaker 11: Yeah, not everybody can have a time machine. I would
- 1:27:58Speaker 11: do bad things if I had a time machine.
- 1:28:00Speaker 3: Yeah, me too. That's why I'm trying to build it.
- 1:28:03Speaker 11: Actually, I would do all kinds of awesome things. Oh, well.
- 1:28:08Speaker 3: But, yep, it's been fun.
- 1:28:10Speaker 6: I guess, if nothing else, we want to say thank
- 1:28:12Speaker 6: you to the Wonderfest crew, Dave and everybody there. Bo's
- 1:28:16Speaker 6: helped us out this weekend. So, yeah, definitely thanks to
- 1:28:18Speaker 6: everybody on the staff for letting us come here and
- 1:28:22Speaker 6: hang out and do the show. Once again, if you're
- 1:28:24Speaker 6: planning for next year, that is wonderfest.com.
- 1:28:27Speaker 3: Anything else you want to say?
- 1:28:28Speaker 8: Nope.
- 1:28:29Speaker 7: All right.
- 1:28:30Speaker 3: Otherwise, that about does it. We will return next week.
- 1:28:32Speaker 3: Same geek time, same geek feed. Thanks for listening.
- 1:28:35Speaker 11: That guy was walking funny.
- 1:28:41Speaker 10: I'm in love with a creature from the Black Lagoon.
- 1:28:46Speaker 13: Though fate now keeps us countless miles apart. I was
- 1:28:51Speaker 13: stuck to this creature like an old harpoon. But he fled.
- 1:28:57Speaker 13: Leaving me a broken heart. How I loved to caress
- 1:29:03Speaker 13: him when I thought he cared. I'd press my fingers
- 1:29:08Speaker 13: to his scaly hide. But he gave up the happiness
- 1:29:13Speaker 13: we might have shared. And in thin, treading water, side by.
- 1:29:19Speaker 10: Side, oh, I'll never forget.
- 1:29:23Speaker 18: We were splashing along.
- 1:29:26Speaker 20: While the band played our song.
- 1:29:28Speaker 10: My water wings were filled with love for him. When
- 1:29:33Speaker 10: upon this slimy boundary Spied a young flirtatious flounder.
- 1:29:39Speaker 18: And left me there.
- 1:29:41Speaker 16: To sink or swim How I pine for the creature
- 1:29:47Speaker 16: from the black lagoon Though his return is but a
- 1:29:52Speaker 16: futile wish And I'm left with the echo of.
- 1:29:57Speaker 13: Our favorite tune.
- 1:30:01Speaker 10: And the faintly lingering fragrance of fish.
- 1:30:07Speaker 18: The eel, the heel, the trout, the lout, the cod,
- 1:30:13Speaker 18: the claw, the creature from the Black Lagoon.
