- 0:02SPEAKER_01: All right, we're streaming.
- 0:06SPEAKER_01: Streaming on Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and X.
- 0:12SPEAKER_01: It's AI Made Simple with me.
- 0:15SPEAKER_01: I'm Steve Brown, your host, Steve R O I Brown.
- 0:21SPEAKER_01: Why are we here?
- 0:22SPEAKER_01: Well, I'm here because I want to help you get confident in working with AI.
- 0:29SPEAKER_01: It's on the way, it's coming.
- 0:32SPEAKER_01: And so it's time.
- 0:35SPEAKER_01: It's time to learn.
- 0:37SPEAKER_01: It's time to get confident.
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: Why are you here?
- 0:40SPEAKER_01: Because you're AI curious.
- 0:41SPEAKER_01: You're realizing that you're having to uh work with AI in your business, lead your as a leader, you're having to lead it.
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: But how do you lead something that you're not confident with?
- 0:53SPEAKER_01: Well, that's why you're here.
- 0:55SPEAKER_01: So today's show is gonna be cool because I'm gonna show you how to learn anything with AI.
- 1:04SPEAKER_01: I made you a um a free personal tutor.
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: It's an AI tutor.
- 1:11SPEAKER_01: So imagine, you know, um, so when I'm when I'm busy, when I'm active, when I'm walking, when I'm exercising, when I'm doing something, I want to listen to something.
- 1:21SPEAKER_01: And so I noticed that I spend a lot of time trying to find what's um something positive, something educational that I can listen to while I'm my hands are busy, while I'm busy, while I'm driving.
- 1:34SPEAKER_01: And so um I'll find something and I'll listen to a podcast.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: I'll listen to I'll listen to um um interesting folks that are that I want to learn from.
- 1:45SPEAKER_01: But recently I figured out that I can have a conversation.
- 1:52SPEAKER_01: So you gotta go look.
- 1:54SPEAKER_01: If you want to go look for a topic, you gotta spend a little time and then pick it.
- 1:59SPEAKER_01: So, like if I go for a walk, I'm gonna be walking for 20 minutes.
- 2:03SPEAKER_01: I gotta find something that's gonna last for that time.
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: It's got and so I look and look.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: But now I have set it up to where I can learn any topic that I'm interested in while I walk and have an interactive conversation, and that's what we're going to show you today.
- 2:19SPEAKER_01: But first, let's uh set the scene here, okay?
- 2:24SPEAKER_01: So I'm gonna see if I can share my screen the right way.
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: All right, I can.
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: Here we go.
- 2:36SPEAKER_01: Okay, so let's set the the context.
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: And in our world at the moment, AI is starting to be baked into everything.
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: And um, what we're seeing are these trends that are happening.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: You know, if you knew, if you knew before COVID what was how everything was going to change, what would you have done different?
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: What would you have, would you have positioned your company different?
- 3:03SPEAKER_01: Would you it's like seemed like uh Walmart and uh Amazon and uh Target and all these uh big stores, they kind of had a heads up that everyone was going to want things delivered to them.
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: And so they had all of that system in place quite quite fast.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: And they had the resources, they had the planning, they were able to look forward.
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: But uh businesses like uh yours and mine, hey, we're busy just trying to get um get around this quarter, and we're we're looking for um, we'd like to spend a little more time learning, but sometimes business pulls us away because we don't have all the resources.
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: So these articles are kind of showing you that as far as AI, here's what's coming around a corner.
- 3:49SPEAKER_01: If you know what's coming around a corner, then you can start to position your company, your your professional uh outlook the right way.
- 3:59SPEAKER_01: So nearly 80% of SMBs using AI say it's transforming their business.
- 4:05SPEAKER_01: This is the 360 blog put on by Salesforce.
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: But uh AI literacy is a big thing.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: And how can you um improve your AI literacy today?
- 4:18SPEAKER_01: Well, you need to get familiar with AI machine learning, get comfortable with AI-powered tools and making sense of this.
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: Well, it takes an investment of time.
- 4:27SPEAKER_01: You need to start digging.
- 4:29SPEAKER_01: But when we're busy uh uh running our business, then we go home and we're busy uh with our lives, that's uh you gotta fight for that.
- 4:38SPEAKER_01: So we've got a tool that's gonna make it easy.
- 4:40SPEAKER_01: So more stats here.
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: And think about it like this: we have uh generative AI that's transforming white-collar work that are these models like ChatGPT, um, Google Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, etc.
- 5:00SPEAKER_01: These are generative AI, and these are impacting white-collar work.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: Okay, but there's also what's called embodied AI.
- 5:11SPEAKER_01: Embodied AI is what's uh transforming and will transform blue-collar jobs.
- 5:17SPEAKER_01: Think uh in the news recently of um cyber taxis.
- 5:24SPEAKER_01: What are they called?
- 5:25SPEAKER_01: Uh Robo Tesla launched their taxis now.
- 5:31SPEAKER_01: So they're they're robot-driven taxis, and soon robot-driven um uh 18-wheelers, etc.
- 5:42SPEAKER_01: This is called embodied AI.
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: Your cell phone is an embodied AI, means that there's a body around this AI tool that you're using.
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: It's got AI baked in in it, and so more and more of these particular robots, like you think of Amazon uh package processing warehouses, there's a lot of AI uh robots in there that are pushing those uh boxes around and lining them up for whatever trucks are being used, same with uh Walmart, etc.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: So when you when you're thinking about this, this is an article by Pearson.
- 6:23SPEAKER_01: Pearson um wrote this article.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: So generative AI's potential to replace jobs.
- 6:30SPEAKER_01: And I think uh I think my point is that if you knew many of these jobs are going to be impacted by AI, you would uh get up to speed on AI so that you're able to direct and be proactive instead of having to be reactive and feeling like um you got you got um the rug pulled out from you because you weren't expecting it.
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: Here's an article from Nvidia, and they're talking about um embodied AI.
- 7:07SPEAKER_01: So think uh Amazon, think of your driving cars and other things that'll be replacing um, you know, there's a lot of conversations around tariffs and a lot of drama, but in in the um scheme of things, many of the jobs that um people are saying that Americans aren't or too good to do, um that may be true, maybe not, but uh many of these robots will be performing, picking the foods in the fields.
- 7:39SPEAKER_01: They'll be uh packaging, cleaning, all sorts of items, and so uh that's what you call embodied AI.
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: It's a big field that's coming, Teslas on on that hard.
- 7:54SPEAKER_01: And then this is the article on uh workforce cuts.
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: Now, this is Intel, everybody knows about Intel.
- 8:01SPEAKER_01: What are they?
- 8:02SPEAKER_01: They they do chips and and um all sorts of um tech items, and what are they doing?
- 8:12SPEAKER_01: They hire more people.
- 8:14SPEAKER_01: No, the demands are up, demands high for what they're doing, okay.
- 8:20SPEAKER_01: But they're cutting jobs.
- 8:23SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 8:23SPEAKER_01: Because an employee is really expensive, they're really hard to recruit, hire, train, manage, and then by the time you get them up to speed, they let you know they're moving on to their next phase, right?
- 8:40SPEAKER_01: And so that's a big investment, and these big companies are just signaling to you that they're on to that and they're making job cuts, and they're not hiring new people, but their profits are growing.
- 8:53SPEAKER_01: Another article here, key statistics.
- 8:56SPEAKER_01: I thought uh this one down here was really funny.
- 8:58SPEAKER_01: Uh, 15% of workers in the US would consider having an AI boss.
- 9:04SPEAKER_01: Are you in that 15%?
- 9:08SPEAKER_01: Striking.
- 9:09SPEAKER_01: So, what are we talking about today?
- 9:11SPEAKER_01: We spent nine minutes on this.
- 9:13SPEAKER_01: Here we go.
- 9:14SPEAKER_01: So, this is this is what we made for you.
- 9:18SPEAKER_01: All right, so any topic you want to know about, um, I made this GPT shooter for you, and it's really easy.
- 9:28SPEAKER_01: So I'm pick I pick um ChatGPT um just because it's able I'm able to share this free link to this free GPT that if you have a Chat GPT subscription, it's easy for you to get.
- 9:43SPEAKER_01: You just click on the link, it's in the it'll be in the show notes here.
- 9:47SPEAKER_01: You can go and search for any topic made simple GPT tutor in the GPT store.
- 9:53SPEAKER_01: It's free.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: You just click on it, it's gonna add it in your sidebar.
- 9:57SPEAKER_01: And today, what I want to kind of show you is really um this is something I don't really do very much, but recently I started and it's it's pretty interesting.
- 10:10SPEAKER_01: So down here you're gonna see there's a dictation icon.
- 10:15SPEAKER_01: This is how you can you just not have to type anymore.
- 10:18SPEAKER_01: It's nice, you can get a lot more context if you click on it and dictate.
- 10:23SPEAKER_01: But where I wasn't uh taking advantage of is this voice mode.
- 10:28SPEAKER_01: But this voice mode is what comes into handy when you're active and on the go, when your hands are busy, when you can't type, when you can't uh when you don't want to.
- 10:38SPEAKER_01: You you want to but you want to take that time and be productive.
- 10:43SPEAKER_01: So, what what we're gonna do is uh what can you expect from this GBT?
- 10:49SPEAKER_01: Well, let's see.
- 10:51SPEAKER_01: Let's see what it's here, all right.
- 10:54SPEAKER_01: So some things uh just kind of easy to go through when it's in a course format.
- 11:04SPEAKER_01: So design this to build out structured models, four to six structural models, uh, provides reading lists, tools, and optimal uh deep dives if you want to go.
- 11:17SPEAKER_01: It's friendly, it's it's clear, and it's a guide.
- 11:22SPEAKER_01: And so, what topic do you want to learn?
- 11:24SPEAKER_01: All you got to do is answer these three questions.
- 11:28SPEAKER_01: What topic do you want to learn?
- 11:30SPEAKER_01: How much time can you spend per day on this?
- 11:33SPEAKER_01: And what's your experience level?
- 11:36SPEAKER_01: So let's just kick this off and I'll show you how it works.
- 11:41SPEAKER_01: So I'm gonna click on this dictation mode.
- 11:45SPEAKER_01: All right, so here's what I want to do.
- 11:47SPEAKER_01: I want to learn about LLMs.
- 11:51SPEAKER_01: Um, I got about 30 minutes a day, and uh, let's just assume I'm on the beginner level.
- 11:58SPEAKER_01: Let's take it from there so I can get a good context and start to get my head around how uh LLMs are going to help me um do my job better.
- 13:12SPEAKER_01: No, I got voice vote down, so let's dive in.
- 13:29SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 13:30SPEAKER_01: So we started our um started the course here, but uh what I realized was the audio is not coming through.
- 13:43SPEAKER_01: So let's let's um let's transition here.
- 13:48SPEAKER_01: Hang on.
- 13:50SPEAKER_01: All right, so on your phone, I've been doing this for uh demonstration purposes here on the um on my desktop.
- 14:00SPEAKER_01: But let's hop in let's pull up this exact conversation now on my on my phone and we'll transition here.
- 14:16SPEAKER_01: You know, and showbiz, you gotta learn, you gotta you gotta learn and dance on a stage, live.
- 14:24SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 14:25SPEAKER_01: So here's where we're gonna go.
- 14:28SPEAKER_01: So let's start over on module one here.
- 14:34SPEAKER_01: Let's start from there.
- 14:40SPEAKER_00: Got it.
- 14:41SPEAKER_00: You want to rewind a bit and restart from module one.
- 14:44SPEAKER_00: No problem.
- 14:45SPEAKER_00: So module one is all about the foundations.
- 14:48SPEAKER_00: What makes a language model large?
- 14:50SPEAKER_00: To kick things off.
- 14:51SPEAKER_00: LLMs are just supersized versions of regular language models.
- 14:55SPEAKER_00: They're trained to predict the next word in a sentence by learning from tons of text.
- 15:00SPEAKER_00: What makes them large is one, huge numbers of parameters, like billions or trillions, two, massive data sets, entire slices of the internet, and three, lots of computing power to train them.
- 15:12SPEAKER_00: The model architecture that made the scale possible is the transformer, which uses something called self-attention to understand how words relate to each other.
- 15:22SPEAKER_00: Want me to break down parameters and transformers again, or should we keep going forward from here?
- 15:28SPEAKER_01: You know what's um I never could explain exactly what a transformer is.
- 15:32SPEAKER_01: My mind goes to the movie or the cartoons.
- 15:35SPEAKER_01: But what is a transformer?
- 15:37SPEAKER_01: So GPT stands for Generative Pre-trained transformer.
- 15:41SPEAKER_01: What's a transformer?
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 15:48SPEAKER_00: This is such a great question.
- 15:50SPEAKER_00: It's super important since Transformer is right there in GPT's name.
- 15:54SPEAKER_00: Okay, forget the robots for a sec.
- 15:56SPEAKER_00: In the AI world, a transformer is a model architecture, a blueprint for how the AI processes and understands text.
- 16:04SPEAKER_00: It was introduced in a paper called Attention is All You Need back in 2017.
- 16:09SPEAKER_00: Here's the key idea.
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: Instead of reading text one word at a time like older models, transformers look at all the words at once and figure out how they relate to each other.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: This is done through self-attention, which means the model decides which words in a sentence are most important to focus on based on the context.
- 16:29SPEAKER_00: Like in the sentence, the dog chased the cat because it was fast.
- 16:33SPEAKER_00: The transformer figures out does it refer to the dog or the cat?
- 16:37SPEAKER_00: That's self-attention in action.
- 16:39SPEAKER_00: It does this not just once, but through multiple layers, each refining the understanding.
- 16:45SPEAKER_00: Does that help clear up what a transformer is?
- 16:47SPEAKER_00: Want to dig into self-attention a bit more?
- 16:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, let's dig in a little bit more.
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: Perfect.
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: Let's zoom in on self-attention, the heart of how transformers work.
- 17:02SPEAKER_00: Imagine you're reading this sentence.
- 17:04SPEAKER_00: The book on the shelf near the window was dusty.
- 17:07SPEAKER_00: Now, when the model sees the word was, it needs to figure out what was dusty.
- 17:12SPEAKER_00: Was it the book, the shelf, the window?
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: Self-attention helps the model weigh each word in the sentence and decide which ones are most relevant to was.
- 17:22SPEAKER_00: In this case, it should focus more on the book.
- 17:26SPEAKER_01: So what's what's interesting about this is while you're walking, you can have actual back and forth with the uh model.
- 17:38SPEAKER_01: And so you can get you can get it exactly that this is a world we're moving from a one-size-fits-all world to a what's unique for you and what you need to um what you need to know.
- 17:54SPEAKER_01: And that's what this this uh GPT tutor offers you is that what specifically do you want to know about, and it's gonna it's gonna help you get up to speed and get where uh you want to go, which is with your confidence.
- 18:12SPEAKER_01: So, what did we learn today?
- 18:15SPEAKER_01: That you can get a specific type of training about any topic you're interested in.
- 18:22SPEAKER_01: That generative AI is um thing that's going to it's going to test many of the white-collar jobs.
- 18:31SPEAKER_01: A lot of people think uh white-collar jobs are secure, but it's not.
- 18:36SPEAKER_01: Our future is different, and so getting up to speed, being confident in here, leading implementations, adoption is only going to benefit you.
- 18:46SPEAKER_01: It's going to help you get your business more profitable, more productive.
- 18:51SPEAKER_01: It's going to improve customer service, it's going to improve your good employees.
- 18:56SPEAKER_01: And let's just face it, some employees are just uh trading trading their time for dollars and they're not engaged.
- 19:04SPEAKER_01: And you're going to be able to take advantage of automation and artificial intelligence.
- 19:11SPEAKER_01: You're going to be able to grow your business uh more effectively, more profitably.
- 19:16SPEAKER_01: If there's one thing that I've done as a business over owner over the past uh uh 14 years, I've spent most of my profits or most of my uh revenue on employees.
- 19:32SPEAKER_01: And employees, they have lives.
- 19:35SPEAKER_01: You're you know, as a business owner, you're investing in them, you're training them, you're um you're getting benefit, they start pulling uh weight.
- 19:44SPEAKER_01: But at some point in their lives, they're gonna go on about their lives, they're gonna do, you know, they've got a life, they got a future, they're gonna move on.
- 19:53SPEAKER_01: And that investment that you put into them, you have to start over.
- 19:57SPEAKER_01: And so, what AI offers us is a way to get a longer return on our investment, is to make our uh great employees uh release them of uh work that's taxing, that's not fun, that they dread, and help them to focus on what is their uh best value that they get to be creative, they get to be productive, they uh gain some autonomy, and they help uh build a better uh version of the world that you envisioned with your company.
- 20:34SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 20:35SPEAKER_01: So one more thing here.
- 20:43SPEAKER_01: So, where do we get this?
- 20:47SPEAKER_01: Where do we get this um free tool?
- 20:51SPEAKER_01: You can go to ROIonline.com forward slash link tree.
- 20:57SPEAKER_01: These are all my free GPTs right here.
