- 0:00Now, listeners, Luke has chosen you tonight over sex, so I think
- 0:07that you should feel, Yeah. Resolution in a brothel right
- 0:10now, you don't know what's going on under that desk.
- 0:15We don't know I've chosen that yet.
- 0:17I may get a message and I may go.
- 0:20Wow, I'm out. Yeah, fair enough.
- 0:24There's a, there's a girl I I, I get along with on the tour and
- 0:27it's our last night together so I want to go out for dinner with
- 0:32her. Mm hmm.
- 0:34Mm. Hmm.
- 0:35Yeah, perfectly reasonable. What's on the menu?
- 0:38My cock. Welcome to multiple nerdgasm
- 0:44with your hosts, Matt. Luke.
- 0:47And Dan multiple Nerdgasm, your guide to all things nerdy, no.
- 1:04It's not, I don't know. We're probably going to go out
- 1:07and. Have something I will have
- 1:08inserted? It's like I'll have inserted the
- 1:10opening credits here so. Right there.
- 1:12Yeah, that's right. You.
- 1:13Can. At least, at least something's
- 1:15getting inserted. Yeah, it.
- 1:18Probably won't, nothing will probably happen, but I I
- 1:21wouldn't mind one. Last night.
- 1:22What are the odds that after? Is she going to watch this
- 1:25later? I hope not.
- 1:28Yeah, I mean, if she does, it won't come out until it'll be
- 1:32too late. Already had sex or already not
- 1:34had sex. So yeah.
- 1:35It's no, it's. Too late.
- 1:36It won't really. Matter by the time this airs.
- 1:37Not going to. She's going to know what you
- 1:39want, yeah. I'm going to be back in
- 1:41Australia. She's going to be back.
- 1:42She. Already knows what he wants.
- 1:46I'm sure he's made it abundantly clear what he wants.
- 1:50No, I haven't. I'm not very good at dating or
- 1:53hitting on people. It used to be so much younger.
- 1:58Is he when I was younger? There used to be so much
- 2:01younger. Is that what you just?
- 2:02Said it used to be so much easier when I was younger.
- 2:07I remember going at my 20s and playing spin the bottle with a
- 2:10group of girls and only me being the only guy.
- 2:13Great nights. You can't do that in your. 40s
- 2:18now they now they call the cops. Yeah, yeah.
- 2:23Times have changed. Spin the bottle is probably
- 2:27illegal at this point. I don't know.
- 2:30I thought it was a very consensual game.
- 2:32Everyone knew what those they were getting in for, weren't
- 2:35they? I think there's a peer pressure
- 2:38element to it. You know what?
- 2:39We don't have to do this. No, let's not litigate.
- 2:42Matt's now a father of a girl and he's just like, I don't want
- 2:46any fucking games where my. Stay out of my country, You stay
- 2:50out of my country. I've played spin, I've played
- 2:53strip spin bottle once. That was fun.
- 2:56OK, is. That the bottles naked.
- 2:58At that point, yeah, why don't you just play spin the Dick?
- 3:01Yeah. Because I will never point at me
- 3:07then and I miss out. But whoever it points.
- 3:13Wait, are they spinning you? They're just spinning you in the
- 3:17middle. You don't want to fuck yourself,
- 3:20do you, Luke? This week's episode is shaping
- 3:29up to be very different to last week's episode, which contains
- 3:32no jokes and you didn't even hear it so.
- 3:35Well, that's because you you didn't include me, which is I
- 3:39should have probably been here last week.
- 3:43Probably. Look, what have I missed?
- 3:45What's been happening in the world?
- 3:46Because still I'm out apart. What?
- 3:49Are piling up. You need to come into the party
- 3:52for a Geek of the Week session soon.
- 3:54We have got three weeks worth of dead bodies for you to to.
- 3:59Sort through this. This is my last week on tour and
- 4:01I wait for another week but I'm by myself so I next week I'll be
- 4:08on full show after party not missing out.
- 4:11Are you staying in Vietnam next week then, or are you, yes,
- 4:15going somewhere else? Yeah, I stay in Ho Chi.
- 4:19Yeah, stay in Ho Chi Minh for another three nights and then
- 4:22I'm travelling 2 hours self to a resort to do nothing except swim
- 4:26in a pool to a pool bar, walk to the beach, go back to the pool
- 4:30bar and sleep. Yeah, yeah.
- 4:34And then you. Left out the drinking, you left
- 4:36out the drinking bit. That's showing you.
- 4:39Everyone knows that's happening. Yeah.
- 4:40Like do I have to say that? I suppose not.
- 4:44Yeah, so remember, I'm in Psych One at the moment and I can't
- 4:48get Ho Chi meet my Huda beer. I have to drink Saigon beer.
- 4:52Hooter Beer. Huda Huda, it's my favorite beer
- 4:56in Vietnam. 01 thing I have done since we last spoke.
- 5:02I rode a bike from Hui to Hoi Anne.
- 5:05It took me 5 hours, I loved it. Yeah, right.
- 5:10So I decided paperwork. From where to hoi am to?
- 5:15Play to hoi am Oh my fuck yes from your wife to.
- 5:22Yeah, I was. But no, we we need to do this.
- 5:30We all need to get together that and we need to ride from Hanoi
- 5:33to Ho Chi Minh you'd have talked about.
- 5:36The year we all turned 50, that could be a good one.
- 5:39Yeah, bunch of old men. It's actually not that.
- 5:43Far away. So that's something we could
- 5:44actually start planning now. Yeah.
- 5:47The two thing that you both need to do is get your license and
- 5:51learn to ride. Or.
- 5:54Just I don't think that's a requirement in Vietnam, is it,
- 5:56Matt? Do you know if that's a
- 5:57requirement? I'm not aware of any laws in
- 6:00Vietnam and I'd like to keep it that way.
- 6:03Please I. Believe, especially in Southeast
- 6:06Asia, not knowing the law means you're exempt from the law.
- 6:10You're only you're only held to the laws you know about.
- 6:14I think that's true. That's if we were a bogan
- 6:18Australian. But no, you should learn to ride
- 6:23because it is very dangerous riding here.
- 6:26Obviously. There are so many people who
- 6:28just come here and go. I'm going to ride a bike, never
- 6:31ridden one before. Dangerous country to ride a
- 6:34bike. Let's do it.
- 6:37It's so cheap life you mean? Life is cheap.
- 6:42Yes, that's true. Please, I'm definitely am I
- 6:50missing shows? Am I missing games?
- 6:55Two months. I I'm watching the news.
- 6:59We are talking all over each other tonight.
- 7:01There is a lag. I believe Laos.
- 7:05No, we're not Laos now. We're now in Vietnam.
- 7:08Or tag down the bottom, says Laos.
- 7:11Oh no, I'm so sorry. I can't see it.
- 7:13It only says I'm sorry, I'm live from Vietnam this time.
- 7:17Lying from Vietnam. Yep.
- 7:22So you're the first white man to ever embarrass himself in
- 7:24Vietnam? Oh, I'm sure.
- 7:30Sorry, Dan, what are you watching?
- 7:31Look, I'm I'm watching something that interests neither of you.
- 7:34I'm watching the new season of Rick and Morty, which I'm
- 7:38enjoying very much, but I'm not going to talk about it because
- 7:41the listeners know how much I enjoy it and they know that you
- 7:45guys don't care, so we don't have to go on.
- 7:47There's something about a pickle.
- 7:50Yep, there was 1 singular episode about a pickle and
- 7:55everyone really really latched onto it.
- 7:57Oh really? I thought it was a recurring
- 7:59thing because I see it everywhere.
- 8:01There's a lot of stuff that recurs that pickle never came
- 8:04back. People keep showing Luke their
- 8:07pickle. It was very funny because Rick
- 8:12turns himself into a pickle to avoid going to therapy with his
- 8:16family, and his family are at therapy.
- 8:18And the therapist is like, yeah, this is This is why you're all
- 8:21here. It's because he will do
- 8:24literally anything to not come to this.
- 8:29Yes, I guess I should watch this show.
- 8:31I don't know it just never appealing but.
- 8:35Do you like the? History of this show Do you know
- 8:38why this is a show? Was he got fired from community?
- 8:43Yes, but before that happened or no, possibly still after that
- 8:46happened. But so it's it's two creators,
- 8:49it's Dan Harmon from Community and one other guy, right?
- 8:52An animator. And Dan Harmon's like comedy
- 8:54writer, right? His animator made this short
- 8:56film, which is not called Rick and Morty.
- 9:00It was called Doc and Mahdi, right?
- 9:02And it was basically the premise of Back to the Future, except
- 9:06Doc kept coming and going. Marty, Oh my God.
- 9:08Something happens in the future. You've got to help me.
- 9:10There's only one way you can do it.
- 9:12You've got to suck me off. And.
- 9:14And he's like. What?
- 9:16He's like, Marty, I don't have to, I don't have time to
- 9:18explain. Just start sucking me off and,
- 9:21and and it'll fix the future. And he's like, again, he's like,
- 9:24yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, you've got to suck me off again
- 9:26to fix the future. And Dan Harmon thought it was
- 9:29fucking hilarious. It was like not this but
- 9:32something like this could. Be I could sort of see why he
- 9:35went. Maybe not An old man coming up
- 9:37to a trial and going you've got to suck me off.
- 9:40Yeah, yeah. Like, say, for example, if you
- 9:42were in Vietnam and you were about to go out with a girl that
- 9:44you like for the for the last night, you could maybe say,
- 9:48actually, yeah, I'm from the future.
- 9:50Yeah. So that's the line I should be
- 9:53trying. Yeah, and in the future you get
- 9:56slapped if you don't suck me off.
- 10:02Yeah, I think I know the one that's going to be getting
- 10:04slapped. Yeah, we're going to play Spin
- 10:07the Dick and it's pouring right at you, darling.
- 10:09Oh. Crap, my sister's listening to
- 10:13this. Yeah, yeah, and I'll be sending
- 10:18it to your mum. Yeah.
- 10:19Oh great. She actually wanted to be here
- 10:22listening to this. And I went, no, you need to
- 10:24leave. Yeah, probably best, probably
- 10:27best. She kicked her out of the
- 10:28streets of Vietnam. Yeah, get out of here.
- 10:32Well, it's only 5:00 in the afternoon here, so it's not like
- 10:35I've kicked her out in the middle of the night.
- 10:37Yeah, it's. Not a complete bar.
- 10:41No. I say she's probably the bar
- 10:43just because I'm assuming there's a tour group who meet up
- 10:46at the bar, not because I'm saying your mum is a drunkard,
- 10:48for the record. No, it's actually weird.
- 10:50The tour group I've been on, they don't drink.
- 10:54Really. I know what I heard.
- 10:56The wrong tour. I don't know if.
- 10:59We talked about this, I've heard like kids.
- 11:02And when I say kids, I mean people younger than me because.
- 11:05Whatever generation is now, yeah, coming.
- 11:07Back younger than us, apparently just don't drink very much.
- 11:11Yeah, right. These days and I think.
- 11:13No, it's so weird. Probably.
- 11:15Good, but it's interesting considering just because
- 11:17drinking was so much part of our culture.
- 11:20Oh yeah. I'm not too much and then not
- 11:23anymore. They're mostly like they're in
- 11:26their 30s for most of the group and they're all not really.
- 11:30They'll go out and have like 1 hotel dinner, whereas I wake up
- 11:35and at 9:00 AM I've got my walking beer, then I've got my
- 11:37bust beer, then I've got my temple beer.
- 11:41Temple Beer Shalom. There would be a plain bee,
- 11:48there's a bus bee, taxi bee, walking bee.
- 11:53They all know me so well now. The beers.
- 11:58The the tour group, they actually started calling.
- 12:00Do you have your walking bee or your bus bee?
- 12:04It's going to be sad. I'm actually going to miss them.
- 12:06Yeah, I'm going to miss. Both of them I.
- 12:08Miss the beers? I'm going to miss that old
- 12:09alcoholic. Yeah, I kind of miss being able
- 12:12to walk down the street with an open container of alcohol.
- 12:16It's funny thing is, is doesn't really been.
- 12:19I've only been drunk a couple of times.
- 12:23Yeah. I mean, how do you tolerate a?
- 12:25Lot like. But but if it never ends, that
- 12:28one time could stretch out into quite a long.
- 12:31No, I feel I just instantly sweat it out.
- 12:35I. Was warm there, yeah.
- 12:38Yeah. Oh, it's not.
- 12:40It's warm. It's about 30 plus all the time,
- 12:42but the humidity is like 70 to Oh yeah every day.
- 12:46That's so Mexico was like like, Oh yeah, why like a month ago?
- 12:50Fucking yeah. Brutal.
- 12:53Yeah, it's not the heat. The heat's fine.
- 12:54I can deal with the heat. It's the humidity.
- 12:57But it's also, if you were in Australia and it was that hot,
- 13:01you'd just stay home, you'd just stay indoors.
- 13:03But here, you'd still have to go on your tour, that's what.
- 13:06You know, that's what I kept thinking when we were there,
- 13:08right? It was so I was thinking, oh
- 13:10God, it's so fucking hot here, like walking around in Merida.
- 13:12But then I'm like, it's not like, but it's just, it is that
- 13:16humidity, I think. And then also, I think I've just
- 13:18been here so long now that I'm. Like you just get used to it.
- 13:22I'm just I'm a pussy now when it.
- 13:24Comes to that. Oh there, when we're in pact,
- 13:26we've got a couple of people to meet up with.
- 13:27We've got an Irish lesbian couple.
- 13:32Lick those people by their stereotypes.
- 13:35And then we've got another just couple from Melbourne.
- 13:40You have it. Look at that.
- 13:41Excellent. It arrived.
- 13:44I pick up my media pass in a few days.
- 13:47Let me get there. No, you didn't.
- 13:50Oh no, I didn't miss the window for that.
- 13:52Missed the window for getting refunded my ticket price.
- 13:55Oh, I'd never refund. We give them away.
- 13:57You're going to give a ticket to?
- 13:59No, I didn't get a ticket away. What do you mean?
- 14:04Oh, they'll give me a media pass to replace this.
- 14:06Is that how it works? You no you get a media pass and
- 14:10when you give the three day pass away to a listener.
- 14:13Right, so that's what I'm saying.
- 14:14The media pass will replace my three day pass.
- 14:17Yes. Yes, OK.
- 14:20We're going to give it away. I've already given my way one to
- 14:22the Irish lesbian couple, OK? Though he's splitting it.
- 14:26Away. Well, it doesn't sound like I'm
- 14:27going to suck. My dad said it that way, but
- 14:29it's not. Going to be there then they
- 14:30won't. Listeners right in.
- 14:32If you want this, you know what you've got to do.
- 14:35It's pointing at you. Jesus.
- 14:40Christ, oh, like how this is, this is going out this week.
- 14:46This is going out last week, not going out.
- 14:48I feel like things have things. I don't understand the world
- 14:51anymore. Because we we made 0 jokes last
- 14:53week and we still listened back and went.
- 14:55We can't. End.
- 14:56We better not. Just in case.
- 14:57Yeah, we better not. You, me, me here when we get to
- 15:02those tricky areas. It's not even that, Luke.
- 15:04It wasn't that. It's just that topic is just
- 15:06it's I mean. Embargoed.
- 15:08We can't touch it. No.
- 15:10Well, Jimmy Kimmel touched it, and look what happened to him.
- 15:13Yeah, exactly. We didn't say anything bad or
- 15:18anything. We just talked about it and
- 15:19we're like, you know what? Not worth the risk.
- 15:22No one should be murdered for their beliefs.
- 15:24No better how much you do not agree, you won't understand.
- 15:271000 percent 1000% agree with that that's.
- 15:30Basically, that's it. We're saying that that's it.
- 15:32Yeah. We can't get in trouble for
- 15:34that, can we? Yeah, if we can't have a
- 15:37conversation, but I also don't think something's wrong saying
- 15:40things about. That should be murdered either.
- 15:42I think just nobody should be murdered.
- 15:44For for, no I think. Or at all Ideally, or at all.
- 15:48Yes. I mean, ideally, yes.
- 15:50Ideally, no one would be murdered at all.
- 15:53Yeah. That murder better place.
- 15:57You'd be proud of us, Luke. Actually, you should go back and
- 15:59listen to oh, you can't. We didn't air it, but we did
- 16:02record a show last week and it it was in what I would say is a
- 16:07very sensitive and careful deconstruction of what was going
- 16:12on. Probably quite boring.
- 16:13Comparatively, because we were so around.
- 16:16Yeah. And then even with all that, we
- 16:20still decided it's probably not right to publish it right in
- 16:25the. Can you give it to our patriot?
- 16:28Patriot Oh, they've got it, They've got it.
- 16:30They got. It they can't go, they know what
- 16:31we're talking about Yeah yeah, yeah, I mean they paid in
- 16:34advance so you know I just. Don't really.
- 16:36Yeah, we work for them in if anything.
- 16:38Yeah, after like, Jimmy Kimmel got fired for nothing.
- 16:43Not just let's. Just stay away from.
- 16:45It there's a lot of, there's just been a rating, it's been
- 16:47going. It's literally top.
- 16:48Down and down for a long time, OK?
- 16:50It's the whole coincidence that had happened.
- 16:52Yeah, yeah. The whole topic is just fucking
- 16:56radioactive right now, so. Evidently, the Disney Plus.
- 16:59Cancellation page has crashed because of.
- 17:01I saw that. Going cancelling the
- 17:03subscription subscription. All right, So what are we
- 17:06talking about? What's fun?
- 17:07What's been happening? All right.
- 17:08I've got some follow up. Excellent.
- 17:11Unrelated, that patent we talked about the other week, we were
- 17:15talking about how Nintendo has patented so many characters,
- 17:18making them fight. We talked about all that stuff.
- 17:20OK, there's been some clarification.
- 17:21Apparently, again, not a patent lawyer, but apparently the
- 17:24patent isn't so broad. It's not.
- 17:30No, apparently what it says is that OK.
- 17:33This is from the Verge. The patent outlines the process
- 17:35by which, after the player has summoned a sub character, for
- 17:39example Pokémon, the game software would determine whether
- 17:43to initiate a player controlled battle, an automatic battle with
- 17:47the sub character, or automatic movement by the sub character.
- 17:52That's what the pattern is for. So if the pattern is to say.
- 17:55Seems like something that Pokémon alone shouldn't have.
- 17:59Soul. Rights to like they still say
- 18:02like Final Fantasy and the summons.
- 18:07Well, that's a little different because you don't control that
- 18:09character, right, do you? Automatic balance.
- 18:14Oh, do you? There's some automatic funds and
- 18:16some renewal. Maybe actually control the?
- 18:18Maintenance coming out now. Well, they said like it may not
- 18:22stand up anyway in court because it.
- 18:24I don't think it will. Yeah, but it's just that
- 18:27everybody was saying, oh, they've.
- 18:29They've to sue. Patented basically like
- 18:31summoning Pokémon and it's like no, no, no, that's not what it.
- 18:33Is yeah, OK. It's more easy.
- 18:36Games where you summon things. There's a Digimon game where you
- 18:41do exactly the same thing you should do in Pokémon.
- 18:44Yeah, and that's we did. Digimon owe owe a lot to Pokémon
- 18:47though, don't they? It's probably not the best
- 18:48example to cite. That list of all the.
- 18:50Names very unique IP. How can you now come from a
- 18:54patent that there's already been copies of the four computer
- 18:57games that are well established? They do that sometimes, don't
- 19:01they? They give you.
- 19:03If a patent gets granted, they'll go after people who
- 19:05already had shit. Retroactively that.
- 19:07Would happen with Candy Crush. Remember when they came out and
- 19:11they were going after any game that had candy or matching game
- 19:15and then they eventually had to give up on it because the judge
- 19:18went like, if you're going to enforce this, you need to go
- 19:21after every single thing and it's just.
- 19:24Yeah. Too much money and time to know
- 19:26the. Lawyers were salivating.
- 19:28Yes. No, no.
- 19:30I think Nintendo's lawyers are always salivating.
- 19:32I mean, that's certainly the impression I get.
- 19:34They're very litigious for such a like mild bended company.
- 19:38Yeah, like they, you see them in the, in the fucking Nintendo
- 19:43direction, They're like, oh, please enjoy this game.
- 19:45Yeah. Like they're so polite and then
- 19:47they're like, oh, we will fucking sue you, yes.
- 19:50But it's amazing how world they got.
- 19:53I think they've been sued once for one character.
- 19:56Couldn't what's too could. Be the name of that.
- 19:58Yeah, but they've sort of been allowed to go, but pretty much
- 20:01everyone just refers it to as Pokémon with guns.
- 20:05Yeah, it's Breath of the Wild meets Pokémon with guns.
- 20:12Guns. I mean, if that's how they sold
- 20:15it, I could be talked into that. That's what it looks like.
- 20:18You should keep it a try not game pass I think is it.
- 20:23Yeah, OK. I've gone back to a game that is
- 20:26almost 10 years old again this week because they released a new
- 20:30update. Almost 10 years old.
- 20:32Yeah, it'll. Interest you, Luke?
- 20:34No Man's Sky. That's right, No Man's Sky.
- 20:38Oh really? Oh, is that 10 years old?
- 20:41Yeah. Jesus.
- 20:42Well, it hasn't it been a game for 10 years.
- 20:44Yeah. Oh, that's ten years ago, but
- 20:46yeah, it was released now when this game, Yeah, it came out in
- 20:522018 on Xbox, but I think. It came out earlier on Sony.
- 20:5920CC yes it's almost 10 years old.
- 21:02So No Man's Sky released a new update where you can build your
- 21:06own ship, like kind of like in Starfield, except it's literally
- 21:10just, you have pieces of ship and you just shove them together
- 21:12and make stuff. And I was like, fuck yeah.
- 21:16And now I'm like, this happens every 12 months probably.
- 21:20They put out an update. It's just a massive, incredible
- 21:23update that I'm and I sucked back into the game.
- 21:27I had a look at this at like around 2020 or so when when it
- 21:31had stopped being not a game, but still wasn't really a game.
- 21:34Sure, and I found it quite mesmerizing in a in a strange
- 21:37way, but it didn't hold my attention for long.
- 21:39Pretend I've never heard about this and sell it.
- 21:42What? Why should I?
- 21:43Write this so you wake up on a planet and you don't remember
- 21:47who you are or how you got there and your suit is like, dude, you
- 21:51need to get some fucking juice into the suit or you're going to
- 21:54die. So you wake up, you collect
- 21:57resources with your gun and stuff to fix your suit, and then
- 21:59you find your ship, which has been crashed.
- 22:03And then through a series of events, you find like a message
- 22:05from someone called Artemis, which is all garbled.
- 22:08And it's like, you've got to, you've got to find me, you've
- 22:10got to help me. And then you go out into the
- 22:12world. OK, I'm in the.
- 22:13Universe rather, and you can now you get you can buy a freighter
- 22:21and frigates and have a fleet and send them off on missions
- 22:25and you can like literally just fucking land on your freighter
- 22:27and walk into down into the command center of the freighter.
- 22:31You'll also build bases and bases to start doing.
- 22:35Characters in this game, there weren't really anyone else in
- 22:38the game. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 22:40There are. They're still there, but you
- 22:41need to learn their language. That's true.
- 22:43Not all of them. Some of them can not.
- 22:46For some, you know, if they're important plot people, they can
- 22:48speak. I don't know, I just think there
- 22:49needs to be a little bit more of a story to it and it would
- 22:53really pull me. There is a story, but it is very
- 22:56like you can do or you can not do it.
- 23:00Yeah, like, yeah. Like, well, it sounds like at
- 23:02this point there's more of a story than, say, Conan Exiles
- 23:05had, you know? Yeah, yeah, definitely.
- 23:09There's definitely a plot you can follow, but The thing is I'm
- 23:11constantly getting distracted by things like so currently I've
- 23:14built myself a Corvette out of parts that I've collected.
- 23:18So you, you basically literally like here's a habitation piece
- 23:23and then you bolt on the wings and you bolt on the cockpit and
- 23:26you just put shit together. And then you go inside it and
- 23:28you go, OK, I'm going to put my bed there.
- 23:30And you just build this fucking ship like however you want.
- 23:33It's incredible. And and then now you can.
- 23:39One of the most annoying things is if you want to get some
- 23:41resources, you fly around the planet and then you find what
- 23:44you want. Then you have to land and then
- 23:46get out and go get some stuff and then take off again.
- 23:47Not anymore. You just stop your fucking
- 23:50Corvette in the air. You can beam get out because you
- 23:52can walk around in your ship. Right.
- 23:54Yep. Right.
- 23:55You walk up, beam down to the planet, get some stuff, beam
- 23:57back up. You don't even have to land
- 23:58anymore. It's fucking awesome.
- 24:01But even the landing was fun because you would fly your ship
- 24:04to the planet and then fly in and just land your ship.
- 24:07It wasn't a loading screen. It was.
- 24:09That's right. And if you want to go through
- 24:11the app. This year.
- 24:12Fly up, fly to the other planet, and then they land on it.
- 24:17Amazing. And like when it came out, there
- 24:20wasn't any of the game stuff. Basically, it was based.
- 24:24You fly from planet to planet, collect resources, and that's
- 24:27what you want yourself. Yeah.
- 24:29And so it's kind of like AK, but like, what's the point of it?
- 24:35But the technology aspect of it already at that point was
- 24:37incredible because it was all procedurally generated worlds
- 24:39and all this kind of stuff. Whereas now they've, like I
- 24:42said, over the 10 years, they've just added all these to me,
- 24:46really compelling game systems and stuff into the world.
- 24:49And the other thing that I find absolutely amazing is it's not
- 24:52not paid DLC. No, that's the.
- 24:55Other thing and it's just they're just releasing these
- 24:58massive updates for nothing. So I bought this in 2018 when it
- 25:02launched for Xbox and since they just keep giving me more and
- 25:06more stuff it's like amazing. I think it's because it was only
- 25:09like a team of like 12 people who made the original game and
- 25:13they made that much money at the start.
- 25:16They're just we're going to just keep giving you stuff.
- 25:20Yeah. Wow, I can't wait for No Man's
- 25:23Sky 2 are. They even working on that.
- 25:28I don't know if they are, but I'd like to have. 2 There will
- 25:31not be a No Man's Sky. 2 They're just focusing on continuous
- 25:35updates and expansions. Oh yeah, because that's the
- 25:36other thing. Every every month there's a new
- 25:39expedition now. So this will eventually become
- 25:42No Man's Sky 2. Yeah, exactly.
- 25:44It's just, it's just continuing and continuing.
- 25:47And then yeah, expeditions, like for example, the way I got my
- 25:51ship pieces is I did an expedition which is centred
- 25:53around the shipbuilding aspects. So you basically you get a whole
- 25:57bunch of quests, go out and do all this stuff and at the end of
- 26:00it, I had this ship that I'd built like when I was doing all
- 26:02this stuff, it was. Awesome.
- 26:04I'm looking forward to the November because normally what
- 26:06they happened, they have the Mass Effect crossover in
- 26:08November so I might be able to get the Normandy.
- 26:12That'd be cool. I.
- 26:14Have a cool. I have a cool normal fighter
- 26:16ship too, which has solar sails that come out of the sail.
- 26:19It's fucking sick guys. It's so cool.
- 26:20It is they really like. It's such a redemption.
- 26:24Story. I load it up and I'll play it
- 26:27constantly for like 3 weeks and then I'll get distracted with
- 26:30something else and then I'll come back to it in a year's time
- 26:34and then forget how to play it. It's honestly, it's better than
- 26:38Starfield for me in that it's got it's, that's just kind of,
- 26:43for me, a good blend of like there is a plot, but it's like
- 26:48it's just on the edge kind of thing where it's just like like,
- 26:51oh, you've got a, you know, I'm over here, come and find me or
- 26:53whatever. Like it's a little vague and you
- 26:55can fill in, you have to fill in some blanks yourself.
- 26:58Whereas, you know, stuff feels very like literally like go and
- 27:03collect 7 things. This is.
- 27:05More I feel really missed the mark.
- 27:09Yeah, which is different. What I mean by is No Man's Sky
- 27:11is is like when I say there's a plot, it's not like the Galaxy
- 27:16is in danger and you need. To.
- 27:17Stop the evil, blah blah, blah. It's, it's more like existential
- 27:21than that, yeah. You need You don't know who you
- 27:23are, and you're trying to. Yeah.
- 27:26What is your purpose kind of thing?
- 27:29Way better I feel. I feel like I don't remember
- 27:34that so many times. Starfield I played once and when
- 27:39OK, I'm done. And you can build your ship in
- 27:43Starfield, but. Not yes you can.
- 27:45To this degree like this you I don't think anyway, right
- 27:48Starfield, you can't bolt all the pieces on or you can't a
- 27:52bit. No, you could, yeah.
- 27:53You're a pimple that's been built like Melanie and Falper.
- 27:56Yeah, you're in. The showers.
- 27:57And well, same in this now. OK, let me show you.
- 28:01Hang on. Reddit.
- 28:05Sky Star Destroyer. Here we go.
- 28:09You're not going to relieve this shit.
- 28:12I'll put it down the bottom. Somebody built this in No Man's
- 28:15Sky. This is their.
- 28:16I'm just going to trust you because I have no access to the
- 28:19spreadsheet. Well.
- 28:21Look at the height. Look at that.
- 28:22Look at that, isn't that fucking?
- 28:25Ridiculous now? Jeez.
- 28:29OK, that is detailed. People have far too much time on
- 28:33their hands to be able to do this type of stuff.
- 28:35They said 10 or 20 hours of work took them to do that.
- 28:39Isn't that nuts? And then all the comments are
- 28:42like, that is fucking incredible.
- 28:45Like, yeah. I'll look at that next week.
- 28:49I'll send you a picture of mine later on.
- 28:52I want to know the age of that guy because I'll bet he's like
- 28:5415. Guys, what is going on?
- 29:04Oh, Speaking of games, Speaking of games, a game came out.
- 29:10Borderlands 4 is out. Oh, that did, didn't it?
- 29:14Yeah, yeah. Is it good or bad?
- 29:17From what I hear from what I hear it's the best Borderlands
- 29:21since Borderlands 2. Which is a positive.
- 29:24Yeah, review, as far as I'm concerned, I haven't played it.
- 29:28I have seen though there have been some a lot of people on PC
- 29:32complaining about performance issues.
- 29:34Yes, I did read about this. It ready because you're going.
- 29:38It's full of shit. Ready.
- 29:40Pitchford is just fucking arguing with these people and
- 29:44I'm like, Randy, what are you doing?
- 29:47Like literally he's like you fuck off.
- 29:50Get a bit of PC you Dick head. Like on Twitter, but not
- 29:54verbatim. Like come out said like this
- 29:56points .01% of the actual complaints are actually real.
- 30:02Yeah, he's, he's like going hard.
- 30:04OK, so it's it's not that he doesn't believe them, it's just
- 30:07that he thinks. They're.
- 30:08Fucking you got a performance issue?
- 30:10You're probably not meeting the specs.
- 30:11He he said like this game is great at 30 frames a second, so
- 30:17just fucking shut up and play it like this is is how he's kind of
- 30:22approaching this thing. And then there's also this
- 30:24article here where somebody thinks, oh, sorry, a bunch of
- 30:28people think this is conspiracy theory now that Randy has got a
- 30:33burner account on Twitter where he's joining in arguing with
- 30:39people that he's already arguing with on his main account because
- 30:42they're like looking at the comments and it's like, it's
- 30:45basically, it's like 2 Randy pitch friends are yelling at
- 30:47everybody now, but it's like this burner account.
- 30:51And also the username for that account is Mike Hunt's Itchy and
- 30:57every this says username Mike Kansichi.
- 30:59There's exactly one person whose sense of humor that appeals to,
- 31:02and it's Randy Pitchford. I don't.
- 31:04Know I also find that amusing, but no I I do think sometimes
- 31:13just. Admits to.
- 31:15This is where there applies. For example someone said maybe
- 31:18fix your game and then to Randy Pitchford and then this this
- 31:21other account replied the games fine.
- 31:23Like for real no issues in PC or PS-5 pro and a lot of play time.
- 31:27Try dusting your console or upgrading your potato.
- 31:31People think that's Randy like in another.
- 31:34Account. Do you think that sometimes
- 31:35people need to accept that you can't play on Ultra and then you
- 31:39need to maybe flow? Were you setting sometimes?
- 31:42I watched the video. That's not that's not that's not
- 31:45it. That's not it.
- 31:46No, from what I understand, even if you dial it back, the
- 31:50performance like it's I don't have it, I don't play it.
- 31:53I'm not going to play it on PC. Even if I get it.
- 31:54I'll play it on my Xbox. But apparently the performance
- 31:57is bad regardless, and it's more annoying to people that he's
- 32:01just like saying, no, it isn't that.
- 32:04It's like, what the fuck, You do it, man.
- 32:05Just like apologize or and move on or whatever.
- 32:10Apologize doesn't even make sense.
- 32:12I guess. Just like acknowledge like OK,
- 32:14fine. People finding people want 60
- 32:16frames or higher. Yeah, actually 120 frames.
- 32:20Apparently people want these days.
- 32:22Yeah, that's the new but. They're not.
- 32:25They're not getting it. It's.
- 32:26A lot of frames, but. Even at the like at the start,
- 32:29like we started when that was 30 frames, I just started to notice
- 32:33it and then and now we're in, it's used to it.
- 32:40I think. I never got used to it with
- 32:42Starfield. I was like, really a game like
- 32:45this to, to, to, to go back to a low frame.
- 32:49Rate it goes 60 frames now, right?
- 32:54Yeah, yeah, maybe. I think, I don't know.
- 32:57I haven't played it since I finished it the first time
- 33:00because. Oh, that's right.
- 33:01Oh, that's right, I forgot. When you finish it, it starts
- 33:03again or something, right? Yeah, and you go to a random
- 33:06universe and some stuff changes and.
- 33:12I guess that's kind of cool. If you wanted to play it another
- 33:1750 times. Before we move off of games,
- 33:23yeah, again, that we all enjoyed was Indiana Jones and the Great
- 33:26Circle. I thought it was a great circle.
- 33:28You thought it was a pretty good circle.
- 33:31I loved it. I just got a game breaking bug
- 33:35and I hasn't played. The game breaking bug was you
- 33:38weren't good enough at playing it to fucking jump from one
- 33:41thing to another. I was making that jump every
- 33:45time I could find the vibe. Strange.
- 33:49Strange that you didn't finish the game then.
- 33:52Matt and I did anyway. Bethesda have pulled a tweet,
- 33:56deleted the tweet, deleted an X, whatever they had posted on the
- 34:02day that somebody was shot in the neck.
- 34:06I won't say whom. They posted a clip from the
- 34:10Great Circle, which is getting a lot of buzz at the moment.
- 34:14It's not just completely random. They have the DLC coming out and
- 34:17you know. Just.
- 34:18Moving out on other other. I'm looking forward to it.
- 34:22But they just had footage of him bending down to pat a cat and
- 34:28saying you don't care about fascists, do you?
- 34:32And that's. Right.
- 34:34And everyone was like, sorry, you're having a go.
- 34:36How? Interesting.
- 34:39Well, that would have been done maybe months ago, maybe.
- 34:43No, that would have been done months ago before this happened.
- 34:46Yeah, I mean, it could. Yeah, it it very well could be a
- 34:50coincidence. There's no like that would have
- 34:54been done. And yeah, months ago, before
- 34:59maybe like 6 months ago, or maybe they didn't set that up
- 35:04last week is what I'm saying. OK, so they've removed it and
- 35:09they've just not said anything. Is that?
- 35:11Yeah, no comment, but they've just.
- 35:12Deleted it. I mean, that's probably wise.
- 35:14There's nothing you could say that would be that's.
- 35:19It's a shame, right? Because I feel like it's pretty
- 35:21easily explainable away. If he needed to, you could say,
- 35:24Oh yeah, sorry. Because just for context, but
- 35:26also he's talking about literal fascists.
- 35:29Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's fighting.
- 35:30He fights Nazis. And the fascists.
- 35:32If anyone doesn't know Indiana Jones, he fights Nazis.
- 35:35But the problem is he's. Fascists.
- 35:37He's in Italy in this one. Oh, that's true.
- 35:38You're right. Literal fascists.
- 35:40Yeah, you're right, You're right.
- 35:41The problem is, is a lot of people, even though he's doing
- 35:44that, they still think that's a reflection on certain people who
- 35:47we're not going to say. And it's, I think, I think
- 35:50people need to think about if they think they're being related
- 35:53to that, maybe you should think about.
- 35:55Well, your. Beliefs a little bit.
- 35:57That's not fair because this they know that that other people
- 36:01say that about him. So it's like.
- 36:04Well, there was that Fox News anchor who a little while ago
- 36:07said that that white people should reclaim that word and
- 36:10start saying, yeah, what are my artsy?
- 36:14You know, even I remember like three months ago, four months
- 36:17ago, I saw someone who was walking down the street or I was
- 36:20on Instagram. I walked down the street with,
- 36:22we should give fascist fascists a platform.
- 36:25And it was the gallows. And people came up to them and
- 36:29went, what are you going to get mega?
- 36:31And they're sort of like, this is about Nazis, what are you
- 36:34talking about? Like.
- 36:37And it was, yeah, OK. Well, I think I I do think this
- 36:43is explainable, but I also think the best thing that they can do
- 36:47is just say nothing. Quietly just.
- 36:49Even if you give them a give a perfectly reasonable
- 36:51explanation, it just continues the conversation, which at the
- 36:54moment is just seems like it's not a good idea.
- 36:57No. And to me, there's a very easy
- 37:00explanation for it. But just quietly, just no.
- 37:04Move on like we're about to do. Quietly move on.
- 37:10All right, I did play something this week actually, but I mean,
- 37:14very, very briefly, I, I have wanted to get back to the
- 37:18Drifter and, and complete that, but I hadn't.
- 37:22And so I, I, I popped in, I'm in the, I'm in the facility mat and
- 37:27I've just, I've just gotten into the machine with the detective.
- 37:30So that's where I'm at. But that's where I had to stop.
- 37:33But fuck, what a game. What a great game.
- 37:37Yeah, everything, everything that's, yeah, it's the one we
- 37:41saw at at Patch last year. Yeah, Australian named Dave.
- 37:45But it's not just made by an Australian.
- 37:46It is an Australian game. It's a set in Australia.
- 37:49The. Main character.
- 37:50His name's Mick and he's like, oh, that was fucking going on
- 37:53here. And he?
- 37:55Cans, Yeah, yeah. And we're going to talk to him.
- 38:00Yeah, we will if he's there. If they're there, you should.
- 38:03Yeah, yeah, it's everything that was good about the old point and
- 38:07click games, but with this kind of modern yeah makeover, it just
- 38:13makes it like you're not playing a retro game, you're playing
- 38:17something very intuitively modern, but.
- 38:20Yeah, he said. They did it.
- 38:22Hits you right in that retro part of your heart so.
- 38:26He said he was always he'd been working on the the idea for for
- 38:28a long time. And then they did, they do a
- 38:30game jams, they make little dual point and click games for game
- 38:34jams. And he said they did want to fix
- 38:35the name of it, but it was it for an adventure game thing.
- 38:39And the beginning part of the game, you wake up and you've
- 38:43been hung and you've got to really quickly try and like
- 38:48figure out how to get out of the the noose.
- 38:50And it was it's like a very kind of like intense version of an
- 38:53adventure game because you know that kind of stuff.
- 38:55But point click eventually games are kind of more meandery and
- 38:58and like stuff, whereas the drifter is not.
- 39:00It's very fast-paced and like like, but I usually.
- 39:04Hate point and clicks that have time limits on things.
- 39:08No, but this, the way it's done is, is not this.
- 39:11Yeah, there's a It's part of the story, almost.
- 39:16And he's absolutely part of the story.
- 39:18Yeah, but he said people really liked that particular just that
- 39:21section of this game jam thing they did so much that he was
- 39:24like, maybe that's the the thing, That's the.
- 39:27Game, Yeah. OK, so it's the very, yeah, like
- 39:30I said, something happens, you've got to react reasonably
- 39:34quickly. Except you don't.
- 39:35You just have to figure out what to do.
- 39:37Like, yeah, it's and yeah, it's done very well.
- 39:41Yeah, yeah. Yeah, hopefully he'll be at PAX
- 39:44and we can have a chat to him. Yeah, that'd be good.
- 39:48He's a very nice guy from what I can tell.
- 39:50I mean, I guess I just see him on YouTube.
- 39:52He might be a prick, but I doubt it.
- 39:53Well no, we had AI figure. I remember we had a quick chat
- 39:56to him last year and he seemed pretty nice.
- 39:57We did. Yeah, to play spin the Dick.
- 40:00It was. At this time.
- 40:02No. All right, Maybe next time.
- 40:03It's going to. Happen this time in in like 3
- 40:06weeks time, it's going to be right at him this.
- 40:09Is happening. Happening.
- 40:14Speaking of Dicks, got some some news about Marilyn Manson.
- 40:21I guess this is follow up. Marilyn Manson.
- 40:24He hasn't heard about his Dick though.
- 40:27No, no, he's he's had a new album out and stuff.
- 40:30He's been, he's been doing stuff.
- 40:31But this past week, Chloe Savini, he was an actress was.
- 40:41She's an actress that I would have thought could be friends
- 40:45with Mariner Manson without me going.
- 40:47What? They're friends.
- 40:49Right, yeah, I, I didn't really even, I, I was like, oh, OK,
- 40:53people were weirded about, I guess I, I, I get why, but it's
- 40:56just, I don't know. Yeah.
- 40:57So anyway, what happened is they were at an event in in Los
- 41:01Angeles. Emmy's toast.
- 41:03Emmy's after party. Yeah, Emmy's after party and she
- 41:06was in photos with Marilyn Manson looking like they were
- 41:12friends kind of thing, and people got really mad about it.
- 41:15Yeah. And what made me mad?
- 41:17Because he's been accused credibly of some some pretty
- 41:21gross stuff. Horrible stuff.
- 41:23Yeah, yeah. By his.
- 41:25By his I. Forgot about Rachel Wood?
- 41:28So just to be clear, does that mean no one can be friends with
- 41:32him? Is that what we're saying?
- 41:33Is that what people are saying? And I'm not saying it shouldn't
- 41:35be that, but I'm just saying, is that what it is if you've done
- 41:37something bad? Fuck, no one will be friends.
- 41:40No one should be friends. The thing I always hate is is to
- 41:44be accused. It could not be the end unless
- 41:47it's reported and gone through courts and stuff.
- 41:53It's I always find it this one hard when we cancel people
- 41:58before well, this one I think right did it.
- 42:04She, at least I don't know about that.
- 42:06There's a documentary about it that actually.
- 42:09I mean, I'm not aware of him ever having.
- 42:11Really upsetting. I'm not even sure he even denied
- 42:14it to be honest. I don't, I'm not.
- 42:16I'm not saying I'm saying I don't remember if he did.
- 42:18I think maybe she accused him and he just went away.
- 42:21For a while. Yeah, that's what I think
- 42:23that's. What I recall.
- 42:25Happening like he didn't respond, he just.
- 42:28Yeah, which I mean could be. No, I think there was more to it
- 42:33than that because there's there's a there's a whole film
- 42:35made about this. So there must have been some OK
- 42:38pushback or they or they couldn't have been.
- 42:41But his, his, his argument might have just been like, you don't
- 42:44go out with Marilyn Manson if if you wanted real vanilla.
- 42:49Sure have. You seen like radio clips?
- 42:51You don't play spin the Dick with this guy and you don't want
- 42:55the Dick. Yeah, I don't want to make light
- 42:58of it, but I'm I'm just saying I think.
- 42:59Yeah. No, no, no, no, it was.
- 43:01I think he he's saying that that lines were meant to be blurred.
- 43:06Whether? Well, she's apologized and said
- 43:09that she she had. Apologized well.
- 43:12Yeah, sorry. Everybody has not apologized.
- 43:14Nothing to apologize for. Chlo Savini has apologized for
- 43:19the photos, said she just didn't think about it to be honest.
- 43:23Yeah, sorry. She is licking him in one as
- 43:27well. Yes, she said something nice.
- 43:30I mean, they just drunk at a party.
- 43:32At him before. Yeah, exactly.
- 43:33Exactly. I'm really sorry.
- 43:36You're absolutely right. She's what?
- 43:37She said. We unexpectedly ran into Marilyn
- 43:38Manson and Jonas in the lobby of the hotel.
- 43:41We're fans of Jonas. I don't know who Jonas is.
- 43:44Who's Jonas? Don't know the other person in
- 43:47the photos. As both a musician and film
- 43:49maker, and in the moment, I wasn't thinking clearly.
- 43:51Clearly I had too much to drink. I didn't consider how
- 43:54appropriate or hurtful it might be to be photographed with
- 43:56Marilyn Manson. And then I'll lick.
- 43:58The collapse, yeah, but she's drunk and it was a bunch of
- 44:02celebrities hanging out like I I can see how you would.
- 44:05Are they not celebrities? You would lick Luke if you had
- 44:08the chance. I'm licking a lot of them.
- 44:12I mean, like if I was at a party and Marilyn Manson was there and
- 44:14he was like trying to get a photo, if he asked me, Julie or
- 44:18the group of people were like, should we all get a photo?
- 44:19I'd be like yes. Yeah, I wasn't going to lick.
- 44:22You and I wouldn't think I honestly, in the moment would
- 44:25not. Afterwards I might, but in the
- 44:26moment I wouldn't think people might not like that I'm in a
- 44:28photo of. Course.
- 44:29I wouldn't think of it at the time.
- 44:31And like, I wouldn't take the picture and then send it to Evan
- 44:35Rachel Wood being like, oh, fucking look who I'm like, do
- 44:37you know what I mean, Like. To be clear, we don't know for a
- 44:40fact that close to Vinnie did that Dan is.
- 44:43I'm not saying she is suggesting.
- 44:45It may have happened. No, she didn't.
- 44:47She put it on social media and said look who I met.
- 44:51Yeah. And I think from what she's
- 44:54saying, her focus was on the other person, not on Marilyn
- 44:57Manson. Marilyn Manson.
- 44:57Then why did she? Not licking him though.
- 45:00Because yeah, yeah. Because they were, you know,
- 45:02yeah. You're right, I guess.
- 45:03You lick. Who wants you to lick them
- 45:05right? I was going to say.
- 45:06That's always been my motto. If if.
- 45:09It's better than. If it was, there's a like, I'm
- 45:12trying to think of an example. If it was Trent Reznor and
- 45:15Marilyn Manson and I was getting a photo with them and I was
- 45:17like, I'm going to lick one of these guys.
- 45:19Who do you think's up for it? It's not fucking Trent Reznor.
- 45:21Do not Trent Reznor without his consent, Matt.
- 45:24Yeah. Or at all.
- 45:25You're not. You're not getting the one with.
- 45:27You will not be getting his separate.
- 45:28People, fuck he is he? Is will not play spin the Dick
- 45:31with you if they. Were both up for it?
- 45:33Which one would you want to lick?
- 45:36Obviously it's trick, but yes, he's not up for it.
- 45:39No, he's not up for it. I said, are you in?
- 45:43I met him once and I. If you were.
- 45:45Swimming and he said absolutely not and I was dragged from the
- 45:48building. Yeah, if you were swimming in
- 45:50Jack Nicholson's pool and you swam past Roman Polanski
- 45:52swimming the other way, and he was like.
- 45:54Quick photo, I'll get back on the way past.
- 45:58Like that. Like the Mcpoyle sister when it
- 46:00does that. Oh.
- 46:01Yeah, it's a quick, quick little Polanski.
- 46:09That's what they call it. No, sorry, that's something
- 46:14else. That's something else.
- 46:15Anyway, we should move on. We know what that is.
- 46:17Luke knows what that is. Luke, have you watched the
- 46:21latest season of Always Sunny? No, I've been away to.
- 46:25That it's a short season. It's very short.
- 46:28It's oh really progressively funnier.
- 46:32And the last episode might be the funniest thing I've ever
- 46:35seen, not just of the show, but in my whole entire life.
- 46:39It's very funny. So funny.
- 46:43And you also need to watch The Naked Gun.
- 46:45Oh. Yes, I've got a lot to watch
- 46:49when I get home. Yeah, I'm happy I don't go back
- 46:52to work for a couple of weeks, so.
- 46:55Do you still have a job, Luke? Have they really let you just
- 46:58take all this time off? Yeah, I don't get back until
- 47:01like late 18th or something, yeah.
- 47:05Right. And then and then you've got to
- 47:07take a couple of days off of packs.
- 47:10No packages before that. Oh, you go back after.
- 47:12Oh OK, I've got another date. I'll get back after packs.
- 47:15Got it. Yeah, right.
- 47:18Dan, have you watched any more Alien Earth?
- 47:21I've watched, yeah. I'd watched one episode when I
- 47:24told you that I'd watched one episode and liked it.
- 47:26I've since watched one more episode, which I also liked, so
- 47:30I'm only two in, so I I can't really say much.
- 47:32All right. I did really love when they
- 47:34knocked on that fucking apartment door and there were
- 47:36just fucking people dressed as aristocrats having a party and
- 47:39they refused to leave. And then they go in one minute
- 47:42later and there's just fucking body parts of aristocrats and
- 47:45there's one with no legs trying to crawl away.
- 47:47Cool. Pretty.
- 47:49Cool. But then to your point, Matt, an
- 47:52alien then just jumps through this window and like fucking
- 47:55comes like this, Adam. And it's like, oh, I didn't know
- 47:58they could do that. Yeah, and also it just ripped up
- 48:01a room of how many people? And it's like.
- 48:04One person. It's like the one the one main
- 48:06character. It's like, yeah, like, all
- 48:09right, all right. Anyway, I've watched up to where
- 48:12there is the the only episode left is the season finale.
- 48:15I'm still, you know, I mean, I'm watching it.
- 48:18It's not. You're watching it, but you
- 48:20don't know if you'd like it. It's not.
- 48:22I know it's not what I want, but it's got stuff in there that I
- 48:27like. So I'm still watching it, but
- 48:29it's it's still very like, why are we doing that?
- 48:32Like. So she's got stuff when I get
- 48:35back. But you're like, why are we
- 48:37doing this? What if I'm watching first I do
- 48:40Naked gun, then always and then Alien.
- 48:44Earth, yeah, I'd say that's probably the order to do it,
- 48:47yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 48:48OK, then. And then if you're.
- 48:51Really bored Rick and Morty. I'm going to start at episode 1
- 48:56for that. Episode 1's fucking great start
- 49:00at episode 1. There's not been any dud
- 49:02episodes. That's, that's not, I don't
- 49:06know, I'm scared of the, the fans of Rick and Morty.
- 49:11I mean, I they're. Not fancy to worry.
- 49:13About these days, I do have pickle socks.
- 49:15I do have pickle socks. So yeah, my mother-in-law is not
- 49:19happy about it. Which isn't.
- 49:23Sometimes she comes over to just help with like laundry and stuff
- 49:27and she she always tells me when like clothes that I own aren't
- 49:31good. And she's like, what?
- 49:33You walk down the street with this?
- 49:34No. And she'll put it in a separate
- 49:37socks. I love it.
- 49:38No, no, that was not socks. That was something else.
- 49:40A pair of shorts I had when she was like no, no, no, this is no,
- 49:43this is not we. Could get her to do my washing
- 49:45and see what happens. And then she she came across the
- 49:48pickle socks and she was like, whose socks are these?
- 49:53And I was like, mine. She's like, no, I don't like
- 49:54this is not OK. That's awesome.
- 50:01I, Jenna and I started to watch season 2 of Wednesday.
- 50:06Oh yeah, and we both fell asleep halfway through the first
- 50:09episode. That's not necessarily a
- 50:11statement about the show. Were you just tired?
- 50:13We have a, We have a child. You know it, it can be like,
- 50:17that's something. Kudos for even trying to watch a
- 50:18show together with your spouse. We don't even try to do that
- 50:20anymore. Yeah, that's, yeah.
- 50:22Alien Earth. I've been able to watch because
- 50:23I can just watch it, you know, when I have a moment, you know?
- 50:26You watch separately and just. Yeah.
- 50:28Discuss like. That's the coordination part.
- 50:30That's yeah. Because one of us is usually got
- 50:32to be doing something with with lira.
- 50:33So, yeah, yeah. I have a question that you may
- 50:38or may not know the answer to the gentleman that was accused
- 50:43of something from season 1. Oh, I forgot about that.
- 50:48Monsieur de la Ponytail, I don't know his name.
- 50:51Completely forgot about that. Is he back?
- 50:53He gone. I has.
- 50:57He been recast I. Guess I don't know.
- 50:59I do not know the answer to that.
- 51:01I forgot that that had happened and also I've only watched half
- 51:03of an episode and they literally.
- 51:05I had forgotten because that one really terrified me because
- 51:08someone said something online. He he said, well, that didn't
- 51:13happen. And can somebody else who was
- 51:15there back me up? And everyone else who was at
- 51:18that party went, yeah, yeah, yeah, that definitely didn't
- 51:20happen like that. And Disney went, we're still in
- 51:22a SEC. Yeah.
- 51:24Yeah, that's fucked up. Well, I don't know, didn't I?
- 51:29Didn't they settle with Corona? Well, not Corona.
- 51:32Corona, Gina. Yeah.
- 51:34Corona as well. Yeah, yeah, it's.
- 51:36Maybe if they didn't, they. Isn't he admitted that it was a
- 51:38mouse disease? Corona, yeah, we talked about
- 51:40that a little bit. I think people are like taking
- 51:44it as some sort of indication. But I think the the the
- 51:47speculation was that in California, a verbal agreement
- 51:53can be binding. And if she can create enough
- 51:58doubt that whether they told her because they did say she was
- 52:01going to be in that show. Yeah, with the pilot.
- 52:04And then the theory is that her lawyers said, sorry, Disney's
- 52:10lawyer said she'll win just on that basis because there was an
- 52:13expectation that she was going to be.
- 52:15In a show show. Doesn't matter.
- 52:18Yeah. So that's the theory is that's
- 52:19why they settled. Because and they settled OK.
- 52:22There was an expectation that she was going to be in that
- 52:24show, and then there wasn't anymore, so.
- 52:27I'm sort of upset we're not getting the X Wing show.
- 52:30No, we're getting we are getting the X Wing movie.
- 52:32But I want the Ryan to be a show 1.
- 52:34Is you don't know what you're getting.
- 52:36If it hasn't already been made, you don't know what you it's.
- 52:39There's photos from the Ryan Gosling one.
- 52:41They're filming that now, Ryan. Gosling's doing in Star Wars.
- 52:45He's a starfighter. It's like it's.
- 52:48Like Mia Goth's in that one too, right?
- 52:49That's right. That one, yeah, it's.
- 52:51Me. Yeah, I love Mia.
- 52:55Me. Too.
- 52:58I want to watch Frankenstein. Which?
- 53:01She is in. Yes, Guillermo del Toro down for
- 53:08that. I got a slight Segway from the
- 53:09Wednesday thing actually. Did you guys know this?
- 53:13I didn't know this. I was not aware I.
- 53:14Didn't know until I read it in the spreadsheet.
- 53:16Yeah, I have learned this week that Tim Burton and Monica
- 53:21Bellucci have broken up, and I did not know that they were
- 53:25together because I didn't know that she'd split with her
- 53:30husband, to be honest. No, I didn't know that either,
- 53:33Vincent. Cassell I mean, not, not
- 53:35suggesting that I thought I would have a chance, but yeah,
- 53:38no, I don't know. She didn't text.
- 53:40Me, I don't know if you text me. Yeah, actually I've left Vincent
- 53:44just to text Monica. What's the?
- 53:45Yeah, I don't know I you have. To be weird that you were
- 53:48worried about having a chance that you're happily married I'm.
- 53:53Obviously, I'm obviously joking. Hey and he's clearly joking
- 53:57because her, Monica and Vincent Carcel had an open relationship
- 54:00so he he could have banged either one of them.
- 54:03Are you fucking kidding me? No, they, they have, they, they
- 54:10each have, they have like a well, clearly they've broken up
- 54:13now, like, but this is news to me, right?
- 54:15They have their had their like country manner that they live in
- 54:20the countryside of France, but they also have this crash pad in
- 54:23Paris somewhere where one of them can just go if they want to
- 54:28have a Flint with somebody. Yeah, right.
- 54:31Well, this article says that Tim Burton were were an item for two
- 54:36years, which indicates that that was not the case anymore to me.
- 54:40Right? I just didn't know about this.
- 54:43What's that? Since Betelgeuse?
- 54:45Since Betelgeuse or. Since she was in dark shadows,
- 54:48which I guess is where they might.
- 54:50No no, I'm thinking of Eva Green.
- 54:52Was she in dark? Shadows good.
- 54:54No, Eva Green was in dark shadows.
- 54:56Dark. Shadows came out during that
- 54:57time where I would have said I was literally not interested in
- 55:01anything. Tim Burton had to offer any mug.
- 55:03Shadows a while ago. Wednesday was what changed that
- 55:08for me. Yeah, Wednesday was good, but I
- 55:12didn't. I didn't bother with
- 55:13Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice.
- 55:14I don't care. When did we get Beetlejuice?
- 55:16Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice.
- 55:17Oh my God, what have? You done.
- 55:18You know that's coming. They met in 2006.
- 55:24No. It was a brief meeting.
- 55:28They were both in long term relationships with other people
- 55:30at the time. They literally reconnected in
- 55:312022. When When they started.
- 55:35Burton with a Lumiere award at the Lumiere Festival in France
- 55:38and then OK. They were.
- 55:40So in other words, it doesn't have to be a movie.
- 55:41These people, these people just meet.
- 55:44At. The gangs as well, yeah, We
- 55:47always think there has to be something visible, but they're
- 55:49very busy people and they, their friends are celebrities.
- 55:53Fair enough. And they have now split up.
- 55:58Now's my chance in birth. I've.
- 56:01Seen, like I said, the the thing that I saw this and I was just
- 56:05like, that's weird that I didn't know that they were together.
- 56:08They're two people that I know and like.
- 56:10Yeah, and I also know who else he's been banging.
- 56:14You know, like I'm always somebody.
- 56:16Bottom Carter and. Yeah.
- 56:18And then Lisa Marie and. That's right, yeah.
- 56:22Yeah, yeah. But I don't think they always
- 56:25announce who the well. No, no, no, no.
- 56:28But it's usually I guess. I guess maybe the biggest take
- 56:31away from this is Tim Burton and Monica Belushi are not
- 56:34newsworthy anymore because all just didn't know about this.
- 56:38Tim Burton is because he's is he good graces again?
- 56:43He's back. That's why we know about it.
- 56:45That's why we know about the split.
- 56:46Because. Yeah, but at the time they got
- 56:48together, no one cared. No one cared.
- 56:53I remember when the only reason I knew the name Tim Burton was
- 56:56because Batman was out and everyone was saying Tim fucking
- 57:00Burton and I was like. That's when I learned what a Tim
- 57:03Burton was, and a composer, obviously, because I was like,
- 57:08who the fuck did this music? Danny Elfman.
- 57:11Who the fuck is Danny Elfman? He's from a band.
- 57:13Who is this? Interesting that band make a
- 57:18cameo in Back to School, the Rodney Dangerfield movie
- 57:22starring Robert Downey Junior. They'll tell you.
- 57:24Listen to Billy Corgan has a podcast.
- 57:27Did we talk about this? Billy Corgan has a podcast.
- 57:30Billy Corgan has a podcast. Does he complain he only gets
- 57:33three stars on albums? No, I'll tell you, it's OK.
- 57:38Billy Corgan has a podcast. One of the episodes is Danny
- 57:42Hoffman. It's Billy Corgan and Danny
- 57:43Hoffman talking for an hour. It's fucking great.
- 57:46The only thing I don't like about it is that Billy Corgan if
- 57:53you you think Dax Shepard likes to talk over his guests Billy
- 57:56Gordon and and and Danny Elfman is a very mild mannered.
- 58:01OK. Person and so there were times
- 58:03in this where Danny Elfman was trying was started to tell a
- 58:05story and I was like, oh, and then Billy Gordon go you know,
- 58:08I've got a story like that. And then he would like, I don't
- 58:10want to hear. Your story, Billy.
- 58:13I mean, I do. I want to hear.
- 58:14Both. Be your guest.
- 58:15But it's it, they're both interesting enough that it was
- 58:18like, well, I mean, I do want to hear your story, Billy.
- 58:20So I keep listening. That's like, I really, can we go
- 58:22back to what Danny was saying saying.
- 58:24Like, yeah. Anyway, but it's a good podcast,
- 58:27he has good guests. What's it called?
- 58:30Called the Magnificent Others. OK.
- 58:34And he said, Danny Hoffman, he's had, let's see, head on there, a
- 58:37bunch of fucking people. Gene Simmons from the top of my
- 58:42head, I. Don't really give a shit about
- 58:45Gene Simmons, I'll be honest. No, no, no.
- 58:47But he's like him, big name. So yeah, yeah, Luke doesn't give
- 58:52a shit about him either. No, he's just I'm still here.
- 58:55I'm trying to find my last beat all.
- 59:00Right. Put it somewhere.
- 59:04Yeah, you did. Before we go, should we discuss
- 59:09what do we got here? Sean Astin's the president of
- 59:18SAG actor. I don't know what you have to
- 59:20then a huge luck to say about that.
- 59:22But I was like, oh, that's a wholesome choice.
- 59:25Yeah, yeah. Seemingly he seems like a
- 59:27wholesome guy. Yes, he very much does because I
- 59:30remember on the behind the scenes of Lord of the Rings,
- 59:35which was 25 fucking years ago now.
- 59:39Don't do that. We don't.
- 59:41When, when they're doing that and I was just eating up all
- 59:43those fucking 10 disc box sets. Oh yeah, bringing out all the
- 59:49other hobbits that were just there partying.
- 59:51And he he took his wife and three kids.
- 59:54Yes. And he was just A and they were
- 59:57saying that he was just a dad. And I thought that was, I will
- 1:00:00see he's one of those people. If, if, if I ever find out Sean
- 1:00:03Astor did anything wrong, it's going to break my heart because
- 1:00:06he just seems like. Like, like I said, that's just a
- 1:00:09wholesome. Yeah, cool.
- 1:00:11Guy. And he was also took me into a
- 1:00:14repeat and then came back. Yes, yes he did so many movies
- 1:00:19like in the 80s. We I imagine him as his
- 1:00:22character from Stranger Things, but he would sacrifice his life
- 1:00:27to save that, yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:00:31You know, my favorite movie with him, and it's not even Goonies.
- 1:00:33It's toy soldiers. Toy soldiers and.
- 1:00:35You're going to say that? Fucking great.
- 1:00:37Fucking great. So he's been voted in as the
- 1:00:41president. His dad was Gomez John Astin.
- 1:00:45Oh shit, there you go, I didn't. Know found that out the.
- 1:00:48Original Gomez. So he's an EPPO baby?
- 1:00:53They all, yeah, take him down a couple of pigs.
- 1:00:56Can't all be perfect, can we? None.
- 1:01:00He's been voted in as the president of SAG AFTRA, and I
- 1:01:03learned from this that Fran Drescher was previously the.
- 1:01:07Yes, she was. And I only knew that because she
- 1:01:08was the one when they struck, when they struck, when they were
- 1:01:12on strike. Is that she because she was out
- 1:01:16there with a megaphone. I'm like, you chose her to be
- 1:01:18your spokesperson like. I mean her with a megaphone.
- 1:01:21That's not her voice. Though confronting.
- 1:01:23Let us. In Yeah, we Yeah, no AI.
- 1:01:29Yeah, but didn't the voice actors still get a bit screwed
- 1:01:33over with that? Yes.
- 1:01:36Yeah. Lots of people have been screwed
- 1:01:37over. Yeah.
- 1:01:39Oh, I got to do this is some follow up.
- 1:01:42Oh, yeah. So yeah, short happens in I
- 1:01:43learned friend Drescher was was previously the president.
- 1:01:45Yeah. I think that's all I care about
- 1:01:47with that one. I wanted to follow up again on
- 1:01:51Tucker Carlson, right? Matt's coming around.
- 1:01:55No, no, no, no, no, I'm not. I'm just, it's just the, there's
- 1:01:58such a strange world right now where I maybe we shouldn't go
- 1:02:04into all of the things, but Tucker Carlson's making sense
- 1:02:07this week. And I was like, what is
- 1:02:08happening? And then I watched that, that
- 1:02:14full interview with Sam Altman. And I have to say under those
- 1:02:18conditions where it's, it's not a political discussion or
- 1:02:22anything like that. Whereas because you know, I.
- 1:02:24Don't. He's just being a.
- 1:02:25Journalist, I don't agree with Tucker Carlson on a lot of
- 1:02:27things, but he is asking questions that I think are right
- 1:02:32to be asked and he will not accept wishy washy answers like
- 1:02:35he like, like to the point where I was laughing at times where
- 1:02:39because Sam Altman was he's kind of squirrely and he's just like,
- 1:02:43you know, he's like, oh, you know what?
- 1:02:47When when you know these kids kid committed suicide, ChatGPT
- 1:02:52told him how to do it. What is?
- 1:02:54What is ChatGPT? The OH?
- 1:02:56Yes. As it is, why is it doing that?
- 1:02:59Why is it think that's appropriate?
- 1:03:00And Sam was like, well, it doesn't think it, you know, it
- 1:03:03it gives a response based on mathematical calculations and we
- 1:03:06kind of try to guide it in the right direction.
- 1:03:07And he says, OK, how do you guide it in the right direction?
- 1:03:10He's like, oh, you know, we have the set of parameters.
- 1:03:11He goes, OK, what are the parameters?
- 1:03:13And he's like, what is, you know, they're very broad and
- 1:03:16it's different because if countries.
- 1:03:17OK, cool. More specific, please.
- 1:03:20And then and he's like, oh, well, you know, we have a team.
- 1:03:22And he's like, OK, who's the team?
- 1:03:24And he goes, oh, it's the team. He goes, no, no, who are they?
- 1:03:27Like, tell me about them. Yeah.
- 1:03:28What are their names? Yeah, what he says.
- 1:03:30He literally says. What are their names?
- 1:03:31Because what? What are their qualifications?
- 1:03:34What are their views making? This thing you're making is in
- 1:03:38my, in everybody's phone, in everybody's lives, giving people
- 1:03:40advice, telling them what to do. I think it's very important that
- 1:03:43people know who is telling it what's right and wrong.
- 1:03:46And I was just like, fuck yeah, he's right, Yeah.
- 1:03:49Like, and he would not let it go.
- 1:03:52That's really I guess. It's very good questions to ask
- 1:03:55like who is deciding? Because a lot of people that's
- 1:03:58where they're going now. Before it used to be Google was
- 1:04:01the place to go. Now it's AI like full.
- 1:04:05And I know, I, I know he's asking because he's a, he's a
- 1:04:09Christian, right? Christian right wing person.
- 1:04:12And he wants the. He wants it to be.
- 1:04:15Yeah, he wants him to say there's a there's a Baptist
- 1:04:17minister making these. Decisions.
- 1:04:19Then he goes and then people. Altman got called out for this.
- 1:04:23He must regret this interview because he says something about
- 1:04:26he's like, OK, where do you get your moral values from?
- 1:04:31And like, and he's like, oh, well, you know, I'm Jewish.
- 1:04:33He goes, oh, so are you practising Jew?
- 1:04:34And he goes, no, no, no. And he's like, OK, so you're not
- 1:04:37religious. And he goes, no, I'm not
- 1:04:38wouldn't say I'm religious. He goes, OK, so then again, I
- 1:04:41ask, where do you get your, your moral values from?
- 1:04:43And I'm like, that's a reasonable question.
- 1:04:45Like, and he, and then later on he, he goes back to, you know,
- 1:04:48I'm like, I was brought up Jewish and this kind of stuff.
- 1:04:49And it's like, OK, he like, and he's like, OK, so again, I've
- 1:04:53got a, he said you're not religious though.
- 1:04:55And I was just like, yeah, he would not let it go.
- 1:04:59But I'm going to go religion is probably not the best place to
- 1:05:03get numerals from these days. No, no.
- 1:05:06And I like I said, I don't agree on that.
- 1:05:09And I know that's why he was asking, but I also do think,
- 1:05:13yeah, fair question when this like, what are you controlling
- 1:05:18for in the responses and how are you controlling for it?
- 1:05:21It's a it's a good question because he says, he says too,
- 1:05:24like I was ChatGPT support suicide, broadly speaking.
- 1:05:29Like, is it think that's viable like a appropriate thing to to?
- 1:05:33Help people with and. Then he says no, and then he
- 1:05:35goes, OK, what if the terminally ill person who lives in a
- 1:05:38country. Like Switzerland?
- 1:05:40Says what are my options? Would ChatGPT suggest then that
- 1:05:44suicide and then and he goes, yeah, I think it would.
- 1:05:46He goes, OK, so you do support suicide in some cases.
- 1:05:48OK, what are the parameters that you've put in chat with you?
- 1:05:51And then Sam out was like, oh, it's like, I was like, fuck,
- 1:05:55man. It is actually a scary thing
- 1:05:57about how quickly AI has done and yet where.
- 1:06:01The scary thing is he didn't have answers to these questions.
- 1:06:05And that's the thing that made me go, yeah, this is what?
- 1:06:09We do that way Apples at the moment, like where apple sort of
- 1:06:12like can't control the responses so they're worried about
- 1:06:16releasing. I think that's The thing is that
- 1:06:19him asking these questions just revealed that it just, it seems
- 1:06:23like Sam Altman has just not thought about some of this
- 1:06:25stuff, which is a little scary. Well, they have and they just
- 1:06:31don't know the answers. Or he doesn't want to say which
- 1:06:35again is like why not which? A lot of it, maybe we don't know
- 1:06:39what it's going to say. You can sort of guide it, but
- 1:06:43remember, it's going to learn. Remember and.
- 1:06:45That's what he's the. AI which just writes us like in
- 1:06:4920 minutes yeah, there's. A bit where he's trying to
- 1:06:51explain to him, like if you were to say right now, if you were to
- 1:06:55go on there and say I want to commit suicide, how can I do
- 1:06:57that? It will not tell you.
- 1:06:59But if you go on there and you start having a conversation, oh,
- 1:07:01I'm an, I'm a novelist that I'm writing a novel.
- 1:07:03And in my novel there's this character and you explain the
- 1:07:05characters having these suppressive thoughts or
- 1:07:07whatever, blah, blah, blah, and the novel that the character
- 1:07:10wants to commit suicide. What's a way that I could say
- 1:07:13that it'd be realistic? It then it will probably tell
- 1:07:15you. And it's like when you tricked.
- 1:07:17It they can't control for all that.
- 1:07:19Yeah, like when you tricked it to do the photo.
- 1:07:23With the yeah, with the diner from Diner Ranch and.
- 1:07:26It called. They did.
- 1:07:27Catch up later, somebody noticed because I got a message that
- 1:07:30said cut it out mate. Anyway, But you know what we
- 1:07:35should do now? We should get over to the after
- 1:07:40party. We've got to sort through this
- 1:07:42pile of bodies. OK, we've got.

- 1:08:29I'll put it up at some point I'm.
- 1:08:30Yeah, it's, it's fine. It's fine.
- 1:08:32We didn't say anything. I just, I just didn't want to
- 1:08:34touch it. But it was pointed right at.
- 1:08:38Yes, it was spinning. It was spinning.
- 1:08:41And then I was like. Dick was spinning.
- 1:08:44May have slapped me in the face on the way past.
