- 0:06Speaker 1: A truck, much truck that must be backed up right
- 0:11here is a right?
- 0:13Speaker 2: Okay?
- 0:15Speaker 1: Is that back up? Back up?
- 0:17Speaker 3: Please?
- 0:17Speaker 1: Look back up? Back?
- 0:18Speaker 4: Oh my god, okay, back up, back back back up,
- 0:22back up, back up back.
- 0:22Speaker 5: Officers report to a seemingly routine traffic incident in Moses Lake, Washington.
- 0:31What no officer on scene realizes is that this encounter
- 0:35would be the start of a terrifying investigation, leading to
- 0:39the most dark and twisted body cam footage we've ever
- 0:43shown on this channel.
- 0:44Speaker 6: But if you want listen to me, please.
- 0:48Speaker 7: Get out of your car and come get my kid.
- 0:50Put him in cuffs right now.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Don't say anything right now. We don't know. Did you
- 0:55do it? Look at me? Did you do it?
- 1:05Speaker 8: Right now?
- 1:09Speaker 5: It's an early Sunday afternoon on November three, when officers
- 1:13patrolling downtown Moses Lake identify a truck matching a stolen
- 1:17vehicle report logged just hours earlier. Multiple police units have
- 1:21been dispatched more than typically assigned to a stolen vehicle report,
- 1:25almost as if from the very start, police somehow knew
- 1:29this vehicle theft report would soon unravel into something much worse.
- 1:34Speaker 9: One we're slow rolling, barking, at porterhouse.
- 1:39Speaker 5: Inside the vehicle is twenty seven year old professional athlete
- 1:43Isaiah Thomas, the former a Star wide receiver for Eastern
- 1:47Oregon University, who is currently armed with a weapon.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Well, Uber, there you going gut all the car?
- 1:56Speaker 10: Yeah, truck quiz Here's what happened.
- 2:03Speaker 1: The truck was reported stolen. Whose truck is this? Good?
- 2:09Speaker 9: Talk to me, man, it's it's your truck. Okay, do
- 2:13you have your ID registration? Just go and turn off.
- 2:21I apologize that's your truck, but it wasn't registering your name, man, Yeah,
- 2:26I know.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Okay.
- 2:27Speaker 11: Then there's ammunition in the front seat.
- 2:29Speaker 9: Okay, okay, okay, just come out and stop on the car.
- 2:37Speaker 5: Of The ammunition on the passenger seat suggests that Isaiah
- 2:41might be carrying a weapon. The officer quickly realizes that
- 2:45this encounter could escalate at any moment, so they swiftly
- 2:48order him out of the vehicle, only to uncover something
- 2:51interesting about his identity.
- 2:55Speaker 12: What greg so, man al modo?
- 2:58Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 2:58Speaker 4: How you doing?
- 2:58Speaker 11: Is another day?
- 3:00Speaker 1: Other day? They don't?
- 3:06Speaker 11: Okay, make sure do have weapons on you?
- 3:08Speaker 12: Okay?
- 3:08Speaker 1: I do got a weapon on me? What do you
- 3:10I think I got a knife right here? On my knife,
- 3:12balk a knife. That's it?
- 3:14Speaker 13: Okay, I thank you, okay, GESSI diggy is no bad
- 3:26on eat one?
- 3:28Speaker 10: I you knew you?
- 3:31Speaker 4: Yeah, someone's high school with them?
- 3:34Speaker 1: Who was the star acting right?
- 3:35Speaker 2: Because they they started talking news. Yeah.
- 3:42Speaker 5: It turns out Officer Alvarado and Isaiah went to high
- 3:45school together, and Alvarado recalls Isaiah as a standout football
- 3:49player who went on to compete at the college level,
- 3:52but now in front of him was a disoriented young man,
- 3:55barely able to focus and answer their questions in a
- 3:59stolen Vick go a star contrast to the athlete Alvarado
- 4:03once knew. In reality, there is a very good reason
- 4:07for Isaiah's odd behavior, one that Officer Alvarado will soon understand,
- 4:12as within minutes, Isaiah and his family will be at
- 4:16the center of a murder investigation. With only one question
- 4:20left unsolved for now, officers decide to contact Isaiah's family
- 4:26to inform them of his recent actions and detainment. They
- 4:29quickly get his family contact details and call his mother,
- 4:32forty seven year old Cassie Thomas. However, the information Cassie
- 4:36provides shifts the course of the investigation in an unexpected way.
- 4:42Speaker 14: Hello.
- 4:44Speaker 4: Hello, this is al Salvado with the Most Like Police Department.
- 4:46I'm trying to reach Cassie.
- 4:48Speaker 14: Is this she?
- 4:50Speaker 4: Hey, do you have a son Isaiah?
- 4:52Speaker 12: Yes?
- 4:52Speaker 8: I do.
- 4:53Speaker 4: We had a call earlier about him being in someone
- 4:57else's vehicle. He's in a truck now, a gray Chevy Silverado. Okay,
- 5:03we're trying to figure out if this is his truck
- 5:04or not, because he's saying it is. But the person
- 5:07that called about him said that he stole the truck
- 5:09from another neighbor.
- 5:11Speaker 15: No, now that's his and his grandfather's.
- 5:16Speaker 4: Okay, who's his grandpa if you don't ask Richard Richard.
- 5:20Speaker 12: Yeah, he probably let him borrow it.
- 5:22Speaker 16: He's staying with his grandfather right now.
- 5:25Speaker 4: What's the address?
- 5:27Speaker 10: Four to three zero dew.
- 5:29Speaker 4: Yep, that's where the truck was taken.
- 5:31Speaker 17: Okay, that's weird.
- 5:32Speaker 4: Yeah, No, that clarifies something because we thought potentially this
- 5:35truck might have been stolen, so we were trying to
- 5:38figure it out. No, I'm sorry about that at all, No,
- 5:42no worries.
- 5:44Speaker 5: At this point, Officer Alvarado begins to realize the mistake
- 5:48they've made. Now it makes sense why Isaiah immediately asked
- 5:52for a lawyer. He was being accused of something he
- 5:55clearly didn't do. As Officer Alvatto continues speaking with Isaiah's mom,
- 6:00he decides to ask about something that's been worrying him
- 6:03since the very moment Isaiah stepped out of the truck.
- 6:07Speaker 4: I went to high school with Isaiah. He wasn't never
- 6:10really like this is everything.
- 6:11Speaker 8: Okay, he should be okay, he.
- 6:16Speaker 4: Just seemed a little bit off to me when he
- 6:18was talking.
- 6:19Speaker 16: Well, probably because he's being accused so he didn't do so.
- 6:24Speaker 4: It's his grandpa's truck. Yea, yeah, he lives at four
- 6:28point thirty. But thank you for answering. My phone calls
- 6:31him questions. That actually helps out a lot.
- 6:33Speaker 18: Okay, all right, okay.
- 6:36Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 6:38Speaker 5: Officer Alverado doesn't know it yet, but his suspicion that
- 6:42something is very wrong with Isaiah isn't far from the truth. Still,
- 6:46with no evidence tying Isaiah to a crime, they have
- 6:49no choice but to release him.
- 6:51Speaker 2: But as he.
- 6:51Speaker 5: Walks away, Officer Alvaretdo follows him, hoping to reconnect with
- 6:55his old friend.
- 6:57Speaker 4: Let's walk over to the funding your trust.
- 6:59Speaker 1: B fiure out just wants.
- 7:02Speaker 4: I know you don't want to talk about this. It's cool,
- 7:05you don't have to, Okay, So you all right, man,
- 7:08you won't like off the books? Do you want to
- 7:11talk about anything, because I'll turn off my cameras.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Bro Like, uh, it's just like we're at a time
- 7:20right now.
- 7:21Speaker 10: Ruh.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Yeah, there's there's a time in everybody's life for all
- 7:24days and you do like really re evaluate. Yeah, what's
- 7:29going on?
- 7:30Speaker 7: You know?
- 7:30Speaker 4: Yeah, if you need anything, please don't hesitant to call.
- 7:33I'll sit down and have a conversation.
- 7:35Speaker 5: Sure, all right, yes, take care to Alvarado. It seems
- 7:39Isaiah wants to say something, but he just can't find
- 7:42the words. For now. Isaiah gets into his truck and
- 7:46drives off, unaware that this won't be the last time
- 7:50today he'll be accused of a crime.
- 7:56Speaker 17: That's trying to help you.
- 7:58Speaker 8: Yeah, I'm I was wondering if I could speak to
- 8:01somebody about a missing person and Moses like, it's my father.
- 8:05Nobody's seen him, yes, Moses, Okay, and his first time
- 8:11off name Richard Andrews.
- 8:15Speaker 17: And what is his home address is at the four
- 8:17point thirty deal?
- 8:20Speaker 4: Correct?
- 8:21Speaker 17: All right, Kelly, I've got this report started. I'm going
- 8:23to hand it over to the officers and just need
- 8:25you to try to find a recent picture of him,
- 8:28and if you hear from him or anything changes before
- 8:30they contact you, go ahead and give us a call
- 8:32back and let us know.
- 8:33Speaker 8: Okay, okay.
- 8:34Speaker 5: On the phone is Kelly Kirkandaal reporting that her father,
- 8:38seventy five year old Richard Andrews, mysteriously vanished. Officers are
- 8:42sent to his address and minutes later they arrive to investigate.
- 8:47Speaker 17: Hello, well I'm doing.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Better than you guys.
- 8:53Speaker 9: How's it going?
- 8:54Speaker 12: How are you?
- 8:55Speaker 1: Carmen, Carmen, talk to you?
- 8:58Speaker 5: Waiting for Sergeant red Rid Begains. Are Carmen, Kelly and Cassie,
- 9:02daughters of Richard Andrews, the missing elderly man does he
- 9:06begins speaking to them, hoping to learn more about their
- 9:09father's disappearance. A familiar faith steps out of.
- 9:12Speaker 1: The house, so we have no idea.
- 9:14Speaker 8: The neighbor talk to my husband. This is my husband, Mike.
- 9:18Speaker 19: Hasn't seen him in a day and a half, so
- 9:21I haven't seen him longer than that.
- 9:22Speaker 8: But his phone's been ringing, his sister's call. Nobody knows
- 9:26where he's at.
- 9:27Speaker 2: So this is this normal?
- 9:30Speaker 1: No No, what's wrong? Okay, what's that? Do you know?
- 9:35Speaker 2: Do you know where?
- 9:36Speaker 12: Where?
- 9:36Speaker 1: Where is it your grandfather? Yeah, my grandpa. Do you
- 9:39know where he's at? No, I have no feel where
- 9:41he's at.
- 9:42Speaker 14: No.
- 9:42Speaker 6: He didn't tell you anything where he was going.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Did you see him leave?
- 9:45Speaker 20: No?
- 9:45Speaker 21: So basically where I did see was him talking to
- 9:48somebody out here. He was kind of like parked a
- 9:51little farther out, like he pulled off this sid a
- 9:54little bit.
- 9:54Speaker 11: They're talking in the window.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Look, that's it. He did tell me that he was
- 9:57going up for the Reds, but I just got caught
- 9:59from make sure from Greg right, But he's not there, so,
- 10:03which was uh.
- 10:07Speaker 12: Property up there?
- 10:08Speaker 19: But we always put a phone call up there and
- 10:10they said no.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Nobody there.
- 10:12Speaker 6: About what time was it when you saw him, Watt?
- 10:14Speaker 1: I don't remember. Was it morning?
- 10:16Speaker 2: Afternoon?
- 10:16Speaker 10: Night time?
- 10:17Speaker 1: It was afternoon afternoon? Was it wasn't like late.
- 10:21Speaker 2: After a Right.
- 10:23Speaker 5: While officers are surprised to be speaking with Isaiah and
- 10:26his mother Cassie for the second time that day, their
- 10:29priority right now is finding his grandfather Richard. With the
- 10:33timeline now established and Isaiah believed to be the last
- 10:37person to see Richard. Sergeant Rodriguez turns his attention to him,
- 10:41but as their conversation on folds, he begins to notice
- 10:45something strange about this family is.
- 10:47Speaker 6: That you said you saw him a day about a
- 10:49day and a half ago, and that would have been
- 10:51so yesterday afternoon sometime or the day.
- 10:54Speaker 13: Before yesterday, No, yesterday was that day a day and
- 10:58a half.
- 10:58Speaker 12: Ago, so Friday today?
- 10:59Speaker 1: So when you saw him, what were you doing?
- 11:06Speaker 2: What was going on with it?
- 11:07Speaker 1: Right there? Smoking? Okay? And where was he? Right there
- 11:09talking to that guy? And then I looked down boom,
- 11:12and then that was that? Was it weird for you?
- 11:15Speaker 6: That he wasn't here anything like that? He'd be gone
- 11:19for weeks, because you have.
- 11:20Speaker 1: His property, be gone for weeks.
- 11:22Speaker 16: That's why he's trip and why why are we tripping?
- 11:26Speaker 6: Yeah, but the only thing that's weird is that he
- 11:29left his wallet here.
- 11:31Speaker 1: That's the only weird thing.
- 11:31Speaker 6: I got me Okay, okay, okay, But it's not very strange.
- 11:36But his normal friend to be gone weeks at a time,
- 11:38but not at usually down them.
- 11:44Speaker 5: What stands out to Rodriguez is how differently the family
- 11:48reacts to the disappearance of their relative. Well Isaiah and
- 11:52his mother, Cassie suggests that Richard's absence isn't especially unusual,
- 11:57with Isaiah even casually smoking weed. His daughter Kelly sees
- 12:01it very differently and appears genuinely concerned for her father
- 12:05in a way the others do not. That's when Isaiah's father,
- 12:10Anthony arrives, bringing with him the breakthrough they've been waiting for.
- 12:14Speaker 22: You're talking about it there. Yeah, you need to go
- 12:17down to a shop, take some pictures down there. To me,
- 12:20it looks like there's something.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Going on down there.
- 12:21Speaker 22: There's like some bunch that's laid out there and some
- 12:24where's the shop his shops down in the.
- 12:26Speaker 16: Holland know where the motorcycle shop is.
- 12:29Speaker 1: That's just if he's not here, he's usually down there.
- 12:32Speaker 6: Oh, I got to tell that something.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Do you think something else is going on down there? No?
- 12:36Speaker 22: No, no, no, I'm just saying that if he's not here,
- 12:38he's down there. Know what I'm saying is that's something
- 12:41that was out there. It looks like there's up get
- 12:43out there. That's he had never been.
- 12:45Speaker 1: There and a half ago. Bro, why keep all about press.
- 13:01You're the You're the closest thing to till his to him.
- 13:04Speaker 22: Okay, I'm not gonna go to get.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Just to keep peeing.
- 13:11Speaker 6: Would you be able to take one of my officers
- 13:12down there to where to where the shop is at,
- 13:15just so that way we know exactly what we're talking about,
- 13:18and so.
- 13:18Speaker 1: That way, if he's there, that's great.
- 13:20Speaker 6: Do you remember what he was wearing, Isaiah. I cannot
- 13:23recall because that's part that's part of the.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Sport that I'm taking, so I can enter it into
- 13:28the suspect. Okay, I know, I'm just.
- 13:30Speaker 8: Saying, you know, I can't.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Okay, but we leave that those are so any any.
- 13:36Speaker 6: Memory, any jewelry, jewelry, let me, let me, let.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Me talk to him.
- 13:42Speaker 18: Okay, yeah, So, because we don't know the exact address,
- 13:49if you want to follow Anthony down to his shop
- 13:51down in the Cascade Valley, his cell phone's here, wallet's here,
- 13:55everything's there, God's here. Just whatever he had on his
- 13:58person in his pocket.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Result, so all right, thank you.
- 14:03Speaker 5: Anthony and several other family members head to the shop
- 14:06with a deputy, while Sergeant Rodriguez stays behind together the
- 14:10remaining details. As he does so, he takes note of
- 14:13the family's statements so far and what stands out is
- 14:16Anthony's frustration with Isaiah. It seems like the two of
- 14:20them know something the others don't, as the way Anthony
- 14:23questions his son sounds like he's accusing him of being
- 14:27involved with Richard's disappearance. Meanwhile, Isaiah is being defensive, claiming
- 14:32everyone is overreacting. His mother, on the other hand, remains calm, smiling,
- 14:37and at times even answering questions that weren't directed at her.
- 14:42Rodriguez notes the contrast in this family's behavior and steps
- 14:45away to drive to Richard's shop, But before he can go,
- 14:49Isaiah's mother would make a horrifying statement, one that would
- 14:53come back to haunt her.
- 14:55Speaker 6: So I'll get this logged in and then if you
- 14:57guys have any give me a call.
- 15:03Speaker 7: Get out of your car and come get my kid.
- 15:05Put it in cuffs right now.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Don't say anything right now. We don't know, okay, So yeah,
- 15:12let me know, okay.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 15:16Speaker 5: Those statements are coming from Isaiah's mother, Cassie, as she
- 15:20approaches the officer, just out of frame. In a sudden shift,
- 15:25Cassie tells the sergeant to arrest her own son, catching
- 15:28him completely off guard. Just moments ago, she hadn't seemed
- 15:32particularly concerned. Now she's adamant that Isaiah is guilty of something.
- 15:37It's a sharp change in behavior, one that leaves officers
- 15:40wondering if Cassie knows far more than she's letting on.
- 15:43For now, the sergeant doesn't fully understand what Cassie's implying,
- 15:47but in the next few minutes her urgency will make
- 15:51a lot more sense. By now, Anthony is on his
- 15:54way to Richard's shop, just two miles from the house,
- 15:57with a patrol unit following closely behind, and as the
- 16:00first deputy pulls up to the shop, he notices several
- 16:03other family members have also gathered, expecting to find a
- 16:06lead on Richard's whereabouts. They would instead uncover something no
- 16:10one was prepared to.
- 16:12Speaker 10: See close house.
- 16:29Speaker 1: His heart right here, hand truck the most wasn't truck.
- 16:32They must have backed up my hair is there?
- 16:34Speaker 23: Right?
- 16:37Speaker 10: Okay?
- 16:40Speaker 14: Is that okay? Well?
- 16:41Speaker 20: Back up, back up?
- 16:41Speaker 1: Please look back up, back.
- 16:43Speaker 8: Up, place, back up, place I want to see? I
- 16:45want to back up, fought.
- 16:51Speaker 19: Him, calmed down, Okay.
- 16:54Speaker 24: Back up, back up, please back back up, back up,
- 16:56back up, back up.
- 16:57Speaker 23: Okay, ma'am, can you come this way place, ma'am Can
- 17:01we come this boy please, ma'am one, I need.
- 17:11Speaker 4: One zero six to my location.
- 17:25Speaker 25: Okay, can you take it over there?
- 17:29Speaker 7: Place?
- 17:30Speaker 1: Pace?
- 17:32Speaker 4: This is this is now a crime?
- 17:33Speaker 8: Suman you I know what I'm trying to get.
- 17:35Speaker 4: Okay, I know.
- 17:37Speaker 16: Oh, Kelly.
- 17:44Speaker 4: Serge, he's he's buried in the ground. He's there's someone
- 17:50buried underneath the ground.
- 17:52Speaker 5: Buried in a shallow grave in the front yard of
- 17:55his own shop, lies the dead body of seventy five
- 17:59year old Richard Andrew's. Richard's daughter Kim is the first
- 18:04to see him. She recognizes her father, immediately, revealing part
- 18:08of his leg with the same genes he always wore.
- 18:12It's a horrifying discovery for them to make. Even the
- 18:15deputy is shaken and unable to control the situation on
- 18:18his own, but as he observes the family, something about
- 18:21it feels off. By the time he arrived, the family
- 18:25had already begun digging, and within moments of uncovering Richard's body,
- 18:29they started pointing fingers, fixating on the one person they're
- 18:33convinced is responsible.
- 18:38Speaker 16: I'm not moving right, I can't.
- 18:41Speaker 23: Do you want me to help you I'll touch it, Okay.
- 18:46Speaker 25: I knew it was going to happen.
- 18:49Speaker 12: That was pison.
- 18:51Speaker 25: My sister's sid's out.
- 18:52Speaker 12: Their house right now, get it and against probably on
- 18:55the bed. It's a rifle that's lain in my mom's edge.
- 18:58Speaker 1: Want the bed.
- 19:01Speaker 4: Yes, So we're having a county respond, okay, and their
- 19:05supervisor is going to come and they're probably gonna set
- 19:09up the containment. Okay, these I just asked that you
- 19:12guys try to try to cooperate as much. I can't
- 19:16make any I can't make any promises.
- 19:19Speaker 1: Okay.
- 19:20Speaker 8: Well, ma'am right now, psychopath.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Hold on if you want to do what's best for.
- 19:31Speaker 4: Kay. I just I just need you guys, please don't okay.
- 19:34I just need you guys to at least try to
- 19:37have some understanding, okay, And I want you guys to
- 19:40listen to the officers.
- 19:42Speaker 5: Surprise, Kim doesn't hesitate to blame her nephew, Isaiah, despite
- 19:47there being no direct evidence linking him to what happened here.
- 19:50Shaken and unsure how to handle the situation, the deputy
- 19:54allows the family to remain at the crime scene even
- 19:57after the body is discovered. Then two minutes later, Sergeant
- 20:00Rodriguez finally arrives, stepping straight into the chaos. He tries
- 20:05to regain control of the situation, but it doesn't take
- 20:08long before he loses his patience.
- 20:12Speaker 8: What are they.
- 20:16Speaker 6: Okay, we didn't touch you, didn't when I was coming
- 20:20up here, ma'am. Let's get away, please, ma'am, ma'am. We
- 20:25need we need to preserve Okay, come on, come on,
- 20:27we need to make sure that we do this. Okay,
- 20:33I'm right here.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Okay, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
- 20:38Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 20:44Speaker 4: And then there's some stuff.
- 20:46Speaker 6: Okay, we need some We need everybody, please, we need
- 20:50everybody back, please, Okay, ma'am, we do need everybody out
- 20:53of here if you want.
- 20:55Speaker 1: We need to preserve this.
- 20:56Speaker 6: Okay, I get it you're upset, but if you want.
- 20:58Speaker 17: Just listen to me, please.
- 21:03Speaker 1: I know you know we need other things to make
- 21:05this work. Please please.
- 21:10Speaker 5: Despite kin certainty, officers aren't yet convinced that Isaiah is
- 21:14their killer, because as they inspect the scene closer, something
- 21:18else stands out, something that starts to point to someone
- 21:21very different. Burn debris is scattered across the grass, clear
- 21:25sign that something had been intentionally destroyed, but the cover
- 21:29up goes even deeper, the section of lawn where Richard
- 21:32was buried had been cut out, replaced, and even watered afterwards,
- 21:37an effort to make the yard appear completely untouched. For investigators,
- 21:42it's still unclear whether Richard was murdered here or only
- 21:45his body was dumped. To find out, they need to
- 21:48search his shop. Standing just a few feet away.
- 21:55Speaker 9: Here, I just make aself, none come out, your hands up, pore.
- 22:16Speaker 14: Got it up?
- 22:20Speaker 5: Ahead is Richard's shower, and strangely, the deputy notices it
- 22:24appears to have been recently used, suggesting the killer may
- 22:27have been here only minutes earlier. Officers then continue clearing
- 22:31the rest of the shop, finding no signs of a struggle,
- 22:34nothing to suggest Richard was killed here, so they shift
- 22:37their focus to securing a search warrant for his house,
- 22:40a search that would end very differently. As officers begin
- 22:45to regain control of the chaotic scene, Richard's daughter Cassie arrives,
- 22:50the same woman who had told the sergeant earlier to
- 22:53arrest her son Isaiah. Why she accused him before the
- 22:56body had even been discovered is now a question to
- 23:00actives need to answer, But first they have to break
- 23:03the devastating news to her.
- 23:05Speaker 24: Yeah, no, we can't.
- 23:11Speaker 8: I just need to see.
- 23:13Speaker 1: Just let's go around there.
- 23:19Speaker 6: M that's gonna be is that the family members are
- 23:24that was driving it.
- 23:25Speaker 26: So no, no, you can't go now, you can't, We can't,
- 23:42we can't.
- 23:45Speaker 1: She just wants to look over the line. We won't.
- 23:48She won't go past the line. I'll make sure the.
- 23:54Speaker 5: Naturally, Cassie is distraught not only because her father is dead,
- 23:59but because she's spects her own son may be responsible
- 24:02for now officers continue securing the scene and prepare to
- 24:06send Richard's body for autopsy, but as they do, they
- 24:09begin to overhear the family frantically talking amongst themselves, and
- 24:13what they're saying would suggest the situation is only escalating
- 24:17because someone else might be about to get hurt.
- 24:21Speaker 6: Right, we have one that's confirmed in a shallow grave.
- 24:31Do not start talking, Please, don't say anything.
- 24:34Speaker 11: Just be quiet.
- 24:36Speaker 1: Please, you know what what's going on over there already.
- 24:44Speaker 6: I get it that we need I've heard everybody, but
- 24:46we need things to figure out one zero six, Mack.
- 24:50We need units down at four point thirty two. Man, Please,
- 24:56we're gonna have to leave the truck here for now,
- 24:59Where am I going to go? I just want you
- 25:01to walk that way please, gun.
- 25:04Speaker 9: Cleaner, Hey David.
- 25:09Speaker 6: Well on zero six Mac, I have the father heading
- 25:13down to four point thirty wo and possible suspect is
- 25:17there and.
- 25:18Speaker 1: It might not be good.
- 25:20Speaker 5: According to Carmen. Anthony is furious and already on his
- 25:24way back to the house, convinced his own son, Isaiah
- 25:28is responsible. He's just seen the body of his father
- 25:31in law buried in the ground, so what he does
- 25:34next is completely unpredictable. Multiple units are quickly sent to
- 25:40the house, racing to get there before Anthony confronts Isaiah.
- 25:43Minutes later, officers make it to the house just seconds
- 25:46ahead of Anthony, who is right behind them along with
- 25:49the rest of the family, all demanding answers.
- 25:58Speaker 21: To lady, stay back, stay back, to back, way back,
- 26:06go back now?
- 26:10Speaker 12: Did you idea.
- 26:13Speaker 1: You need you guys stay back? Day please.
- 26:18Speaker 17: Just a less secure me in your car.
- 26:19Speaker 9: Thomas christ Christian for life and please.
- 26:26Speaker 1: Did you do it?
- 26:28Speaker 11: Please stay back?
- 26:28Speaker 1: Sir, say did you do it? Looked at me? Did
- 26:32you do it? Please you stay back?
- 26:35Speaker 14: Sir?
- 26:36Speaker 1: Did you do it? Isa look at me? Yeah? You
- 26:40had my first born? Did you do it, did one
- 26:46more time. So that's not a lawyer. All right, go
- 26:53ahead and take a seat.
- 27:00Speaker 12: Close it.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Here's the deal. That's family good.
- 27:05Speaker 2: One other family members ung this is right.
- 27:08Speaker 9: Yeah, so they came down here to confront him because
- 27:11they think he did it.
- 27:12Speaker 1: Yeah, the only reason he's in culture Now we don't
- 27:15I thought he was like the suspect.
- 27:16Speaker 9: No, we don't have PC or reasonable right now, he's
- 27:20in there because they think he did it.
- 27:21Speaker 1: We don't keep them separated.
- 27:22Speaker 11: Okay, got it.
- 27:25Speaker 5: For the second time. Today Isaiah is accused of a crime,
- 27:29only now it's something far more serious, and the accusations
- 27:34are coming from his own family. They stand by watching
- 27:38as he's taken into custody, convinced the case is now solved.
- 27:42But what officers are about to uncover would complicate everything,
- 27:46revealing that no one in this family can truly be trusted.
- 27:51But before we get to that, I used to just
- 27:53keep all my money in my bank account and not
- 27:55really thinking it was possible to grow it without having
- 27:57to wrap my head around all the different investments and
- 28:00saving strategies. But then I realized there was a much
- 28:03simpler way. That's where our video sponsor, Chime comes in.

- 29:30While Isaiah is transported to the Grand County Jail on
- 29:33probable cause, police continue speaking with the rest of the family,
- 29:36but by now Richard's daughters are too shaken to talk,
- 29:40so investigators turned to his son in law, Greg, one
- 29:43of the first to discover the body, and they're about
- 29:46to learn that he has vital information that would begin
- 29:49to piece together this meticulous murder.
- 29:51Speaker 25: So let's start from the beginning. How do you know
- 29:55the guy who works on the shop out here?
- 29:56Speaker 2: Sure is my father in law. The I Mars is
- 29:59one of his dogs last year.
- 30:01Speaker 25: Okay, so he's he is your current father in law.
- 30:03Speaker 2: He is my father in law and across the street.
- 30:05Speaker 25: Okay, so you're pretty close with him.
- 30:07Speaker 2: I was very close to him.
- 30:08Speaker 25: Okay, what do you think happened?
- 30:13Speaker 2: I think that.
- 30:15Speaker 27: There may have been some type of transaction at Richard's
- 30:18house with Isaiah. I don't know exactly the full details
- 30:23of what's going on with him, but I know he's
- 30:24been having issues, paranoid issues and things of that nature.
- 30:27Speaker 25: What do you mean by transaction like an altercation?
- 30:31Speaker 2: Yeah, what I think is Richard's he's old school.
- 30:35Speaker 27: He doesn't he's not into the wife of the back
- 30:37here of the marijuana, and I think maybe he confronted him.
- 30:41Speaker 25: Somebody said something about the tarp that you saw.
- 30:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I had a tarp. We had a tarp at
- 30:46the house.
- 30:48Speaker 27: And I'm not saying that's the actual tarp, but I
- 30:51know that it was a brown and great tarp.
- 30:54Speaker 25: That you had at your house.
- 30:56Speaker 27: We had at our house, and I can't it was
- 30:58sitting right there and the really buy my truck, barbecuers
- 31:03and stuff. And I've never seen him, so I don't know.
- 31:07If it away, I don't know, but it is missing.
- 31:11Speaker 5: And sure enough, when the family began digging, they discovered
- 31:14Richard's body had been fully wrapped in a brown and
- 31:18gray tarp. With that tarp belonging to Greg. It now
- 31:22raises two possibilities. Either he just incriminated himself or whoever
- 31:27did this used it specifically to frame him. And Greg
- 31:31has his own theory about who may have set him up.
- 31:35Speaker 27: It's it's he's Isaiah has been acting. It's pretty pretty
- 31:39strange lately.
- 31:40Speaker 25: You've met Isaiah?
- 31:41Speaker 1: Yes?
- 31:41Speaker 25: Had he open to your house?
- 31:42Speaker 2: Yes?
- 31:43Speaker 25: Okay?
- 31:44Speaker 27: And the last time he was there he was super
- 31:46paranoid about everything.
- 31:49Speaker 25: Does he drive Richard's truck very often?
- 31:51Speaker 27: Everybody drives Richard trucks often, to be honest with Okay,
- 31:54people drive them all the time.
- 31:56Speaker 2: But I do know that Isaiah was pulled over today.
- 32:00I want to believe. Yeah, and Moses you.
- 32:02Speaker 28: Had mentioned see tire tracks correct, going into the grass?
- 32:09Going into the grass, Yes, sir, tell me tell me
- 32:11about these us.
- 32:13Speaker 27: I've seen what appear to either somebody was backing in
- 32:16or it's somebody that turned the right, I believe. And
- 32:19I've seen the tire mark going into the grass, and
- 32:21I seen, uh, that's when I've seen it.
- 32:25Speaker 2: And then I noticed the hose and everything.
- 32:26Speaker 28: Like I told you, is it common here on the
- 32:30property for vehicles to go into the grass?
- 32:32Speaker 2: Negative? Negative, he never goes on that grass.
- 32:36Speaker 5: According to Greg, Richard's truck was shared and often driven
- 32:40by multiple members of the family, which immediately complicates things
- 32:44as the tire tracks officers identified at the crime scene
- 32:48no longer point to a single suspect. But just as
- 32:51leads begin to run dry, officers would learn that the
- 32:54search warrant for Richard's home has finally been approved, so
- 32:57detectives quickly wrap up their interview with Gregg and heads
- 33:00straight back to the house. The moment they step inside
- 33:03the home, the detectives notice a strong scent of bleach
- 33:06in the air, all surfaces have been white down, and
- 33:09inside there are clear signs of a clean up job.
- 33:13Detectives know they're dealing with a methodical killer, possibly more
- 33:17than one, but even then they would overlook something critical.
- 33:20When detectives inspect the house more closely, they noticed spots
- 33:24of blood on the back door handle that had been missed,
- 33:28their first real piece of evidence tying Richard's house to
- 33:32his murder. And then they stumble upon something even more significant,
- 33:37a knife hidden in the living room, still in its sheath,
- 33:41marked with visible red stains. Whoever tried to erase what
- 33:45happened here, didn't manage to get rid of everything. With
- 33:48the scene processed, all evidence sent for forensic analysis, and
- 33:52the family dispersed, the focus now shifts to the man
- 33:56back at the station. Since his arrest, Isaiah has refused
- 33:59to operate, But now as officers return to confiscate his clothing,
- 34:04they're about to discover the most crucial piece of evidence
- 34:07may have been right in front of them all day.
- 34:10Speaker 12: Okay, mister, continue to take off your shoes.
- 34:18Speaker 8: And then take off your sweatshirt.
- 34:21Speaker 1: Uh, it's oh cool. I'll try to get you to
- 34:25the blanket. You've got two blankets there.
- 34:26Speaker 11: I'll try to get the one.
- 34:29Speaker 1: Oh.
- 34:35Speaker 5: When officers hold up Isaiah's shoes, they notice they're covered
- 34:39in dirt and possibly dried blood. It's the first and
- 34:43only detail that could place him anywhere near the crime scene,
- 34:47but it's far from definitive. With the day coming to
- 34:50an end, investigators finish processing their findings and prepare for tomorrow,
- 34:54hoping they'll finally be able to answer what really happened
- 34:57to Richard. As for Isaiah, by continuing to refuse to speak,
- 35:01he has effectively handed his fate over to his family,
- 35:04who have already begun forming theories and accusations, with even
- 35:08the closest relatives ready to completely turn on each other.
- 35:15The next morning, after nearly twelve hours of detectives digging
- 35:19through the family's past, troubling rumors begin to surface, alleging
- 35:23Isaiah might have been involved in an old cold homicide
- 35:26case that remains unsolved to this day. Detectives also hear
- 35:30whispers that Isaiah's own parents may have helped cover it
- 35:34up and may have even known what happened to Richard
- 35:37long before anyone else. These are serious allegations that detectives
- 35:42will need to explore carefully, but right now, their immediate
- 35:46priority is uncovering what truly happened to Richard and who
- 35:49is responsible to do that. They begin calling family members
- 35:53into the station for formal interviews. The first to arrive
- 35:56is Isaiah's father, Anthony, among many other detail else, detectives
- 36:01need to address one critical question. Why was he so
- 36:04quick to suspect his own son. Was it simply a
- 36:07gut feeling or did he know something no one else did.
- 36:12Speaker 22: Oh, I think it was a week ago, right when
- 36:14it was the week before this incident happened, and Kim
- 36:18is like, you guys need to come down and there,
- 36:21and Isaiah's acting crazy. We go down there and we
- 36:25walk in the house. As soon as we get in
- 36:27the house, he's like he has this big bag of
- 36:30weed that you could tell that he got from like
- 36:32the dispenser or whatnot.
- 36:33Speaker 1: It's big.
- 36:34Speaker 11: Are my eyes?
- 36:35Speaker 1: You know?
- 36:35Speaker 22: It was like it was about this big what the
- 36:37are you doing here? Like this is what you kick
- 36:40me out the house for? Right, And I was like, yeah,
- 36:41he says, what the are you doing here? This has
- 36:43nothing to do with you, And I was like, listen here, man,
- 36:46your aunt scared because you're you're wilding out up in here.
- 36:49So then I'm looking at him and he was like, Sam,
- 36:53say I am.
- 36:53Speaker 1: He's got a butcher knife like this and he just
- 36:55likes it. But he's like.
- 36:57Speaker 22: Crying, say I am, and say this. If he got me,
- 37:01it would have been all of us, you know. So
- 37:03I just said I'll leave And when did I mess up?
- 37:07You know as a father that i'd do something wrong,
- 37:09like what did I do? Because this is not you?
- 37:12And he was just like, You're the best dad ever.
- 37:14Speaker 12: Man.
- 37:14Speaker 22: I couldn't ask for a dad man better than you.
- 37:17Man is kind of like, you did everything right, you're
- 37:20a great dad man. And then and then Kim's like
- 37:23bust out crying, and then He's just like get.
- 37:27Speaker 1: Out, mother, kill you.
- 37:30Speaker 5: Naturally, this account from Anthony catches detectives off guard as
- 37:34they realized the incident may have foreshadowed everything, so they
- 37:38paused the interview and look into it, confirming that it
- 37:41did in fact occur. One week earlier, police were calling
- 37:44to Isaiah's aunt Kim's house after reports that he was
- 37:48experiencing a medic episode, and as detectives review the bodycam
- 37:51footage of that incident, it quickly becomes clear why the
- 37:55entire family believes he did it.
- 37:58Speaker 1: Just taste the out of him.
- 37:59Speaker 24: What's he's got the knife with him?
- 38:01Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 38:02Speaker 24: Okay, what's okay? Okay?
- 38:06Speaker 8: What's what's his issue?
- 38:08Speaker 1: Like?
- 38:08Speaker 24: Is he can you do you guys want to just
- 38:10stay out here. I know it's he's your son, but
- 38:11we just don't know what the situation is, right, is
- 38:15the idea of a knife on you? Do you want
- 38:16to go down to the ground just just to verify. Man,
- 38:19We're just hey, Isaiah, we're gonna put you in cuffs,
- 38:21but it's just for our safey. Okay, you're not under arrest.
- 38:24Speaker 1: We just want to make sure.
- 38:25Speaker 24: Okay, okay, we want to go down to your knees. Man, Jehu,
- 38:29your put your eyes brand your back man, can you
- 38:32put your hands buying back again? You're not under arrest, okay,
- 38:36just doing this for your safety.
- 38:38Speaker 2: Is his recording?
- 38:38Speaker 24: Yeah, you've been recorded on a camera right here, So is.
- 38:42Speaker 1: It Is it supposed to be read when it's recording.
- 38:44Speaker 8: Yeah, it's see what's spinking red?
- 38:46Speaker 11: Okay?
- 38:46Speaker 24: Yea, yeah, you want to walk over your to our car. Man,
- 38:48We're gonna figure out what's going on and then kind
- 38:50of just go from there.
- 38:51Speaker 11: Okay.
- 38:51Speaker 5: When officers detain Isaiah, they find him in tears, struggling
- 38:55to hold himself together, and as they pull him away
- 38:57from his family, he's about to tell officer there's something
- 39:00unexpected about himself.
- 39:02Speaker 10: What's going on today?
- 39:05Speaker 2: I'm just going through lish right now. So okay, do
- 39:08you want to do you have any offlans to urge
- 39:10yourself or anything like that?
- 39:12Speaker 12: Uh?
- 39:12Speaker 14: Nah?
- 39:14Speaker 21: No, I mean I guess everybody do you know? But
- 39:17I mean to urge yourself today? Nah, not today, but
- 39:21this past this past week. I have a rough Yeah,
- 39:25but it's all good.
- 39:25Speaker 14: Bro.
- 39:26Speaker 1: I'll bounce back, but I'm gonna shake that.
- 39:28Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's all good, Bro.
- 39:30Speaker 1: I'm gonna trumna shake back again and again and again.
- 39:34Speaker 10: Do you want again?
- 39:35Speaker 1: Do you want to go to the os war?
- 39:37Speaker 2: And again and again?
- 39:38Speaker 29: Ruh?
- 39:38Speaker 10: Do you want to go to the oscar or anything
- 39:40like that?
- 39:40Speaker 12: Nah?
- 39:41Speaker 1: Bro, it's good like I'm good.
- 39:42Speaker 11: So so what was it?
- 39:44Speaker 2: What was the deal with the knife? I got a
- 39:45switcher in there.
- 39:46Speaker 1: It's called it's a plant.
- 39:47Speaker 21: Basically cut use a knife, and I used to squit it, okay,
- 39:51to cut, to take out the tobacco, to put my.
- 39:53Speaker 30: Weed in Okay at first Okay.
- 39:57Speaker 1: Then me and my answer argument that knife was on
- 39:59the table, so I already.
- 40:01Speaker 21: It was already there and me had it was arguing
- 40:05I don't.
- 40:05Speaker 1: Want you to leave, but she just it's not that
- 40:08big of a did I.
- 40:09Speaker 28: Was a good person, Bro, I said, I've don't you
- 40:14saying that will happened?
- 40:18Speaker 2: I just lie, bro.
- 40:20Speaker 5: Clearly, there is sympathy in the officer's voice as he
- 40:24realizes the men in front of him has been dealt
- 40:27a very difficult hand in life, and although Isaiah downplays
- 40:30the incident, in hindsight, it would read very differently because
- 40:35perhaps this was the last and only time something could
- 40:40have been done to prevent the tragic fate of Richard Andrews.
- 40:45After analyzing the incident and forming a clearer picture of Isaiah,
- 40:49detectives return to finish their interview with Anthony. Through his account,
- 40:53it becomes clear he believes Isaiah's issues stem from two factors,
- 40:58prolonged marijuana use and report head trauma from his time
- 41:01as a wide receiver, a position notorious for heavy hits
- 41:05and brain damage. Anthony also goes on to clarify crucial
- 41:08details about his son's mental state, making it evident that
- 41:12his initial suspicions of Isaiah were rooted in his son's
- 41:15increasingly unpredictable and volatile behavior. So, with Anthony's perspective now
- 41:21on the record, the interview comes to an end and
- 41:23detectives move on to Richard's daughter, Kim, the person who
- 41:27found the body. Kim goes on to explain why she
- 41:30immediately suspected her nephew Isaiah, pointing to his history of
- 41:34violent psychotic episodes, including pulling guns and knives on family members,
- 41:39as well as his white vans covered in dirt, something
- 41:42she says is highly unusual for him. Notably, she ends
- 41:47the interview by saying she fears that if Isaiah is
- 41:50ever released, he will do it again. With the case
- 41:53against Isaiah growing stronger by the minute, detectives then shift
- 41:57their attention to two more family members. Richard's daughter Chrissy
- 42:02had her partner Floyd. Unlike everyone else, these two family
- 42:06members are about to become Isaiah's best and perhaps only chance.
- 42:10I'm shifting how detectives view Isaiah's role in all of this.
- 42:14Speaker 11: It's starting to kind of start this off as far
- 42:18as your it would have been your.
- 42:20Speaker 1: Father, right, yes.
- 42:22Speaker 12: So I find out that they they find my dad
- 42:28buried in the back of his shop. I already knew.
- 42:34I told him, why are you letting that mother Christia
- 42:37my dad's house? You know he's gonna kill him.
- 42:40Speaker 8: So I know you have questions for me, and then
- 42:42obviously I have questions for you, and I think they're
- 42:45both cured. Around the scene.
- 42:47Speaker 3: When I got there, bro, it was weird, weird, weird,
- 42:51and I'm like, man, something's not right. So I left,
- 42:54and that's when I told her and explained it to her.
- 42:57I even knew something was wrong before you have this episode.
- 43:00I say something that's not right with this kid. Something
- 43:03you guys might want to be careful. Sure, as soon
- 43:06as I leave, As soon as we leave, all hairs
- 43:10break loose.
- 43:11Speaker 11: Explain to me now the background, how you knew something
- 43:14weird is going on over there.
- 43:16Speaker 12: Because he prior to this, he was staying with us.
- 43:19And I'm not exactly sure exactly what happened, but he
- 43:22starts a competition with my son. He pulls out a
- 43:25pistol from his draws isaiahh Okay sets it down. I
- 43:30got a back hold of my sister Cassie, and I said,
- 43:34you know, that boy is sick. He's beyond therapy. He
- 43:37needs can help, like he needs to be medicated.
- 43:40Speaker 3: The thing, like I said, the only thing, the only
- 43:43thing that that that just bothers me the most. That
- 43:47kid does not clean that or he wanted to make
- 43:50an attempt.
- 43:51Speaker 1: He'll drop something on the floor and just walk away.
- 43:53Speaker 2: From it and leave it there.
- 43:55Speaker 3: And usually I'll and usually I'll even ask and where's Richard,
- 43:58because I will say hi to him. But for some reason,
- 44:01it's just the atmosphere was just I'm like, all right,
- 44:04so i'ms wrong.
- 44:05Speaker 1: So I got on the phone with her and I'm like, oh,
- 44:06he's still wigging.
- 44:08Speaker 3: He's wigging or and I'll say, in your sister's trip there,
- 44:11I said, your sister acting like she's scared to death.
- 44:14Speaker 1: Well she knows he goes through this episode. Of course
- 44:16he's scared.
- 44:17Speaker 3: I'm like, okay, after we found out what really happened
- 44:23is that she.
- 44:25Speaker 1: Knew what he did.
- 44:27Speaker 5: At this point, detectives begin to realize Christy and Floyd
- 44:31aren't just angry at Isaiah, they also hold his mother accountable,
- 44:35and the couple suspicions aligned with detectives, who still can't
- 44:39explain why Cassie asks them to arrest Isaiah before the
- 44:43body was even discovered. So with all of this in mind,
- 44:47detectives would ask them both point blank who they believe
- 44:50is truly responsible for Richard's death.
- 44:54Speaker 4: So I'm on the same page as you guys believe
- 44:58that Isaiah's mom hmm, that she had she.
- 45:04Speaker 1: Had knowledge of it. She had to have knowledge of it.
- 45:08I mean she got kid.
- 45:09Speaker 3: That kid wouldn't have clean that kid would because he
- 45:13ran over to the neighbor's house and tried to take
- 45:15their car. Did you guys get that in from Yes,
- 45:17all right, So he's paradic, he's not clean. He's trying,
- 45:21he's running on, he's trying to get off. He's trying
- 45:22to run off. He's trying to do whatever you can
- 45:24do to get out of a situation. He's not thinking
- 45:26about cleaning. He's not thinking about picking this guy up
- 45:28and put them in the back of the truck and
- 45:30burying them and then go down to the valley and
- 45:32go get a tark, then go back up there in
- 45:35her dad's truck and they see it, and go back
- 45:37up to the house and wrap them in the tartars
- 45:39and then come back and down to the valley, which
- 45:41is across the street from her surch's.
- 45:43Speaker 1: House and bury him.
- 45:44Speaker 3: When you said that, you you believe that she knew.
- 45:49Speaker 2: Do you believe that she helped cover the body clean?
- 45:52Speaker 1: I can't. I can't go to that for her. I
- 45:54can't go that far because she doesn't have that mentality.
- 45:57Speaker 12: At the end of this conversation. If she's not arrested
- 46:00by then, I don't know what to tell you, guys.
- 46:02But she didn't sought it up like per se, like
- 46:07oh Isaiah's going to do this. She manipulated the situation
- 46:11to her advantage. She knew what her son was capable of.
- 46:15She knew how to get him to that point of
- 46:20manic and psychosis.
- 46:21Speaker 5: To detectives, accusations like these don't come lightly, especially between sisters. Additionally,
- 46:28Floyd's description of Isaiah aligns with what detectives already believe
- 46:33that he's impulsive, messy, and incapable of thinking ahead. And
- 46:37with the next interview set to be Cassie herself, detectives
- 46:41understand just how much weight this conversation carries, not only
- 46:46for Isaiah's future, but for Cassie's as well. There's a
- 46:49lot they still need to figure out her unusual behavior
- 46:52outside the sergeant's car, her possible involvement in Richard's murder,
- 46:57and even lingering questions about a potential pass homicide. But
- 47:01they know these answers won't come easily. They'll have to
- 47:04approach this carefully, waiting for the right moment to press her,
- 47:08and as her interview unfolds, watch closely for the moment
- 47:12Cassie begins to fear she's the one being implicated.
- 47:16Speaker 8: There's no easy way to start this conversation. Go for it, okay,
- 47:20So I'll work through it. Okay, So how has Isaiah's
- 47:25mental health's been in the last few years. It sounds
- 47:27like he's been suffering the last year for sure, last year.
- 47:34Speaker 1: As far as like.
- 47:35Speaker 11: His mental health. Is it something that he's diagnosed with
- 47:38or just something you guys started noticing.
- 47:40Speaker 16: We started noticing. I'm trying to remember everything.
- 47:53Speaker 19: October I was before October of twenty twenty three, so
- 47:59back for around yeah.
- 48:02Speaker 16: I believe that's when he started smoking.
- 48:05Speaker 19: And he didn't want to work, he didn't want to
- 48:11do that type of stuff, and we kind of were like, well,
- 48:13he's going through it. You know, he's he's done some
- 48:17he's done playing football, and that's some he's done since
- 48:20he's five years old.
- 48:22Speaker 8: You know, big cult like life change.
- 48:24Speaker 19: Oh yeah, no school, no schedule, no workout.
- 48:30Speaker 5: Clearly, Cassie appears emotional, possibly even carrying a sense of
- 48:34guilts as she speaks about her son. Beyond that, nothing
- 48:38about her behavior stands out to detectives as suspicious, but
- 48:42as the interview continues, she begins recounting the same incident
- 48:46at Chrissy's house, where some noticeable differences between her story
- 48:50and the rest of the family. Starts to emerge.
- 48:54Speaker 12: I knocked on the back door.
- 48:55Speaker 16: She doesn't keep her back she uses it for her
- 48:59front door.
- 49:00Speaker 8: But it's just.
- 49:02Speaker 31: And I walked in and my son's sitting you're a
- 49:08little kitchen net table there. There's marijuana all over, a
- 49:13big bag, some paraphernalia.
- 49:19Speaker 16: But he's sitting there with a knife.
- 49:22Speaker 1: And I walk in.
- 49:23Speaker 16: I was like, saw, hey, son, what's going on?
- 49:27Speaker 15: What are you doing here? I said, well, what's going
- 49:33on with you? Is everything okay? And he didn't see
- 49:37my husband. His dad came in behind me, and then
- 49:43he's seen his dad and instantly he's pissed, what the
- 49:48are you doing here?
- 49:54Speaker 16: But he hadn't gotten up yet, like he was still
- 49:57sitting and sitting and he has it in his hands.
- 50:02Speaker 8: Like you're doing right now.
- 50:04Speaker 32: So it's just sitting back and has it and he's
- 50:06like trying. He's like, what are you doing here? And
- 50:09we're still kind of standing at the door. And when
- 50:11you see my husband, he got even war pissed. Who
- 50:15effan called you? What are you doing here?
- 50:19Speaker 16: My husband looked at me and he stood in between us,
- 50:23and you said get out of here, get out of
- 50:25here and go call the sheriff now.
- 50:28Speaker 5: While retelling the story, Cassie appears far less disturbed by
- 50:32the incident, despite it involving her own son. She also
- 50:37seems reluctant to discuss the part where he threatened her
- 50:40husband's life. So after a few hours of letting Cassie
- 50:43speak freely, allowing her to settle into the role of
- 50:46the victim, detectives would finally begin to push back, starting
- 50:50with one detail that would clearly catch her off guard.
- 50:54Speaker 8: And I don't mean this question in anything, but obviously,
- 50:57like at this point, I can only see certain things.
- 50:59Did you guys explain all of that about himporting the
- 51:02knife flying Anthony to the deputies?
- 51:04Speaker 29: Yeah, and dispatch too, she said, don't go back in there.
- 51:10But I get why they're angry with me too. You know,
- 51:14that's my son, and they don't.
- 51:17Speaker 14: Think I did anything to try and help him.
- 51:20Speaker 11: And I think most of the emotions are going to
- 51:23be high right now.
- 51:25Speaker 14: They'll never talk to me again. I already know that,
- 51:30And they've made other threats. They've also said other things too,
- 51:36and I and I don't know if you want to talk.
- 51:38Speaker 8: About those right now, but I think I Detective Hunt
- 51:43is following up on that part but the weird, vague
- 51:47comments about this is potentially not the first time Isaiah
- 51:51had sons.
- 51:53Speaker 16: And I didn't hear any of it.
- 51:55Speaker 14: I was in the house, but they were really going
- 51:58on like he's done this before, and.
- 52:04Speaker 16: That was an implication. But she also said that my
- 52:10husband and I helped cover it up and that they
- 52:15know the name.
- 52:16Speaker 14: Strategies like this happen and people don't find their loved ones.
- 52:24Speaker 11: At least we.
- 52:24Speaker 10: Found my dad.
- 52:26Speaker 5: Clearly, Cassie is distraught not only at the prospect of
- 52:31being ostracized by her family, but also with the possibility
- 52:34of being suspected by detectives as Isaiah's accomplice. But there's
- 52:39still one more question detectives need answered, after which they'll
- 52:44have made up their minds about Cassie.
- 52:46Speaker 8: When you went to Sargrobrigo's and you made the comment
- 52:50that it's him, you need to get him in cust
- 52:53you need to get my son in cost Why for
- 52:55you in that moment did you you know you knew
- 52:58it was Isaiah? Where was your mindset up? I know,
- 53:08I'm asking you to explain, like I've got to.
- 53:11Speaker 20: Was just just the things he kept saying, like you guys,
- 53:16why are you pressing me? He's like he's gone all
- 53:19the time. Weeks at a time, I said, how long
- 53:22has it been since.
- 53:23Speaker 8: You've seen him?
- 53:24Speaker 16: And he's like a day and a half.
- 53:27Speaker 8: So you've got kind of every other family member that's
- 53:29here that's worried and everything like that. And his response
- 53:33didn't seem to match your guys.
- 53:35Speaker 30: Right, you just know your feel it is to say, then,
- 53:42I'm like, he has to get him cut, he has
- 53:46to go to jail.
- 53:47Speaker 20: You know.
- 53:48Speaker 12: I just felt it, and.
- 53:51Speaker 16: I'm I'm his mom, you know, And I'm not in denial.
- 53:57Speaker 8: And I do think personally you did the right thing.
- 54:00I think you handled everything as best as anyone could,
- 54:04as best a parent could. And I don't think that's
- 54:07me saying that's going to bring you any comfort, but
- 54:09I do believe it.
- 54:10Speaker 12: Thank you.
- 54:12Speaker 5: Despite her unusual behavior, the detective appears to take Cassie
- 54:17at her word, believing she may be genuinely innocent. Her family, however,
- 54:23remains unconvinced. After wrapping up this and several other family interviews,
- 54:28investigators find themselves between overrock and a hard place. So far,
- 54:32there's no concrete evidence that Chrissy or anyone else was involved.
- 54:37In fact, at this stage, there's barely enough to definitively
- 54:41prove Isaiah's involvement, so Isaiah remains in jail, hoping that
- 54:45with the right lawyer and no further discoveries at the house,
- 54:49he might still be able to walk away scott free.
- 54:54One week passes before the case finally sees an update,
- 54:59but it's not not the one investigators were hoping for.
- 55:02The autopsy results have just come in. According to the coroner,
- 55:06Richard died at his home from a severe knife wound
- 55:09to the neck that resulted in significant blood loss. He
- 55:12also showed signs of blunt force trauma to the head,
- 55:15along with bruising around both eyes. His body was then
- 55:18dragged out and later buried in a shallow, tarp wrapped
- 55:21grave at his own shop. But even with these horrific findings,
- 55:26it says little about who was responsible for Richard's death,
- 55:29other than suggesting it was someone deeply disturbed, and with
- 55:33every passing day, both detectives and the family begin to
- 55:38fear that the person or people responsible may never face justice.
- 55:45More than two months pass and the case begins to stall,
- 55:49but then investigators catch a break. They receive a major
- 55:53update from the jail where Isaiah is being held. So
- 55:57detectives rush over and meet with one of of Isaiah's
- 56:00fellow inmates and has some very interesting information to share.
- 56:05Speaker 3: We're voting detectivesm most like the first off, we're not
- 56:08your case.
- 56:10Speaker 1: You're not in trouble or anything like that. This is
- 56:12about a different case that I'm wanted to talk to
- 56:14you about with Isaiah Thomas. How does he act in there?
- 56:18Speaker 11: Crazy?
- 56:19Speaker 1: But who kind of got his mind?
- 56:21Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 56:21Speaker 11: What kind of stuff does he do?
- 56:24Speaker 1: He backs on the on the door and then he
- 56:27starts screaming blood blah blood one night and he's let's
- 56:31just sleep it off, okay all night.
- 56:34Speaker 2: He's he's keeping the people up.
- 56:36Speaker 27: Yeah, yeah he is.
- 56:37Speaker 2: Does he puts people off?
- 56:39Speaker 17: There?
- 56:39Speaker 14: Does?
- 56:40Speaker 2: What have you heard as far as that his case?
- 56:43Speaker 1: Ah, well, that he kills his grandpa?
- 56:46Speaker 22: Yeah, exact open okay, And before he killed him that
- 56:51he asked him if he believe in God?
- 56:53Speaker 2: Oh really?
- 56:54Speaker 1: Yeah? What what did the grandma say that he did? Okay?
- 56:58And then he just did he did he say.
- 57:02Speaker 22: Why he killed the grandpa?
- 57:06Speaker 2: Oh?
- 57:06Speaker 12: Yeah, he was a yeah.
- 57:11Speaker 1: Since he was a little kid. Is when he killed them?
- 57:15Speaker 11: Was Grandpa trying to do something.
- 57:19Speaker 1: No, it's just formercial.
- 57:23Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, sure enough. What the inmate describes aligns with
- 57:28key details from the autopsy, particularly the fatal wound, but
- 57:32even then, investigators can't be certain the inmate could be
- 57:36telling the truth or saying whatever he thinks will benefit
- 57:40him in hopes of a reduced sentence, But that uncertainty
- 57:43would soon come to an end with an update from
- 57:46Isaiah himself two weeks after speaking with the inmate in
- 57:51early February, Isaiah pleads guilty to second degree murder and
- 57:56unlawful disposal of human remains on March tenth, sentence to
- 58:00a maximum of twenty years in prison, along with midatory
- 58:03mental health treatment and no contact orders involving several family
- 58:07members who cooperated with the investigation. As of now, no
- 58:11other family members have been charged, with law enforcement ultimately
- 58:15concluding this was a solo actor homicide, dismissing any allegations
- 58:19of parental involvement, and as for the alleged prior homicide,
- 58:23police have so far found no evidence linking Isaiah to
- 58:27any unsolved cases.
