- 0:00[SPEAKER_02]: when it does get better, allow it to be better.
- 0:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, there's hope, but when you see it better, start reaching for what has been familiar or what you've decided to focus on for some time, you'll push yourself back into that place and forego the blessing and the benefit, as you said, that's right in front of you.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: So, yes, solutions around the corner.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_00]: When you have the solution,
- 0:24[SPEAKER_00]: on a dissolution, and enjoy the fact that things have actually changed, and I'm yeah, specifically speaking to me, man, things that I've come on often mentioning that there are challenges, challenges around, and that's going to be challenges.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_00]: But things are also better.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_00]: That's right.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I'm saying?
- 0:44[SPEAKER_00]: Things are also better.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_00]: Things are not just pointing in the right direction.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_00]: The things I'm moving in the right direction.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm trying to be mindful of because today's destination isn't where I think I'm going to end up, which is also not my business right as long as I'm moving accordingly.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: Great.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't been enjoying some of the better that has presented this so to me.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: Let's get it, welcome to the Dead Sun Show.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_00]: We have meaningful conversations about life through the lens of fatherhood.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_00]: It is four fathers, those with fathers, and the father lesson, nobody's left out.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_00]: These are the conversations we want our sons that access as they grow through life in the manhoods and those topics are awful.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_00]: And then some only one in your host, D.J.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_00]: I'm the other host, Jade Black.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: Jade Black, I had in your tone, but tell me people how you feel.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_00]: I have it.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_00]: I'm happy, man.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_02]: I feel good.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, semester came to an end for me, semester came to an end for my son.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, go and pick him off from school, so you'll be home for the summer, my wife is.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_02]: over the moon about that season.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_02]: She missed her baby boy.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and so everything's good.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_02]: But I thought about it on your own.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_00]: That's some little story, man.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: I went to pick the money up from school yesterday.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_00]: She's local, but she might as well be away.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_00]: Did mine decide?
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: I shouldn't say that.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: We said at least once or at least once a month on the weekend.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_00]: But she even done her thing prepared for her.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: She got an opportunity for an internship.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_00]: That's a, I don't know if I actually settled it.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_00]: You might have, you might have accepted into a program that guarantees admission to any medical school in Texas.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: So she's on a track to be a doctor, um, finalizing which disciplines she's going to pursue.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_00]: She probably knows.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, sometimes I'd be the last to know.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_02]: I'm excited about it.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, but that's cool.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_00]: First doctor in the family that I'm aware of when I got her yesterday So she's she's here for a couple of weeks before she for she takes off.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so yeah, it's a You know the little's you got what two and a half weeks maybe.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah three weeks max.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah I know they out before Memorial day
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: So that I think that Wednesday or Thursday, the last Monday of May, you know, yeah, they out before that.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I want to say the 21st of 22nd somewhere, um, they get now, but yeah, man, slime coming up on.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: Finishing up.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I'm saying?
- 3:14[SPEAKER_02]: It's graduation season.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_02]: Congratulations to Alder, 26 graduate, my niece, Lester Nymson.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_00]: See you all.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_02]: He's going down to LSU.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, man.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm going to have two down at LSU.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, man.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: Listen.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: It's a great great time to be alive.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like comes up your face and sometimes that's uh, it's a welcome thing.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, sometimes a welcome thing.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: Um, like share subscribe uh Love keeps you J on IG love on the score keeps you J Warm embrace and deep kisses Highly favorable reviews if I don't say so myself.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: What do say so myself?
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: This one is mold, cider, and spicy conversation.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: So that's some thought going into the scent of designations and they fire.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: They fire.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_02]: So equally complex with the name.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, yeah with it.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: But when you order, when you light it up, it's like, I, okay, she won't just see, she would just won't round.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_00]: This one or spend the will and see what we get there.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: But let's get into it.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_00]: The serve, what you got?
- 4:18[SPEAKER_01]: Today's topic.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_01]: This sign life gets better, let it, life gets better, let it, get out the way, put the shovel down, let it be, this ain't what it looks like, I can go on and on, because often we'll get caught in the moment.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_02]: And even if something don't look right right now, it's easy to buy into the lowest meal of something that's situational.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_02]: And it's just because it's situational, that this could be for 30 seconds, this could be a week or month, a year, even.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_02]: Just know, don't get so caught up in,
- 5:12[SPEAKER_02]: the rut of thinking this what it is that you missed the fact that this just a building phase for what's coming.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_00]: Let it get better.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: Don't stop it.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_02]: You know, you, you, you still fall in and roll blocking the positivity and the blessings as they try to come in.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_02]: You're like, no, no, no, I'm trying to fix this whole time the solution tapping you on the shoulder.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_02]: Watch out.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_02]: I'm trying to fix this.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_02]: You see I'm working on this issue.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_02]: when you're done.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_02]: That's a solution right here.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_00]: So that that's definitely the the baseline of the thought of in my mind.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_00]: The step just beyond that is when it does get better allow it to be better.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: So yes, there's hope.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_00]: But when you see it better, start reaching for what has been familiar or what you've decided to focus on for some time, you'll push yourself back into that place.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_00]: And for goal, the blessing and the benefit, as you said, that's right in front of you.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: So, yes, solutions around the corner.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: When you have the solution,
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: on a dissolution, and enjoy the fact that things have actually changed, and I'm specifically speaking to me, man, things that I've come on often mentioning that there are challenges, challenges about, and they're going to be challenges, but things are also better, that's right.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I'm saying?
- 6:44[SPEAKER_00]: Things are also better, things are not just pointing in the right direction, things
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: Today's destination isn't where I think I'm going to end up, which is also not my business.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_00]: Right, as long as I'm moving accordingly, I haven't been, I haven't been enjoying some of the, uh, some of the, the better that has presented itself to me.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, which is more common than we acknowledge, too, with humans, we get conditioned to our condition.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_02]: So that we start to exist in that condition trying to make certain that they don't get the best of us.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_02]: And I realize, and we're no longer even in that condition.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_02]: I see it all the time and takes a streets with the traffic.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_02]: Certain times a day, it becomes rush hour.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_02]: So the traffic gets so thick and congested.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_02]: By the time you top that hill and get forward,
- 7:37[SPEAKER_02]: It's wide open, but you've conditioned yourself so much.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe you've started to distract yourself playing in the phone, your day dreaming, because in your mind, we go on 15, 20 miles per hour, that you haven't even clocked in and focused, that this thing just opened up.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_02]: So now everybody's worrying around you taking off those that are aware, right?
- 7:58[SPEAKER_02]: And paying attention to the fact that it's opened up.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_02]: And now you, that's your little wake-up call sometimes, like, oh, oh,
- 8:04[SPEAKER_02]: Man, it's wide open to say it's six o'clock, life is the same.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_02]: We're so conditioned that trying to make sure that we're going to, I'm going to survive in this.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_02]: But then when it gets good, oh, be careful.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_02]: You could be overly cautious in the good and the good change as well.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_02]: Man, the market up right now, we just made this.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_02]: man, the market always crashed.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_02]: Oh man, don't get too excited about that.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_02]: Well, hold on, Debbie Donald, give us 30 seconds to perhaps this is the turn and this becomes the new baseline.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
- 8:37[SPEAKER_02]: So that's that's glad you did that one because that's right on time for sun coming home for the summer.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_02]: That's part of some of the grooming and the uplift and the pouring in that need to take place.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_02]: There's somebody to get your mind ready for what's coming.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: What's ahead, man?
- 8:55[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_00]: You just ended with gave me a couple of thoughts about the, you know, the market is up, but it always goes down.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: There's money in the down too.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: Right?
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: So being a aware of it, being aware of it is what came to mind.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_00]: And even the point that you're making about being on a road and think the conditions are typically a certain way, I know I've had this
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: driven a route months years there I say consistently right and one day the condition of the route changes and I look up and and and momentarily not realize why I am yeah because I never I've to either I've taken it for granted the condition was never this but you look like me with it hello and there's no way I drove the wrong way but why have I never
- 9:42[SPEAKER_00]: Why have I never seen this day?
- 9:45[SPEAKER_00]: And that's the other piece of it, you know, wallowing in the woe is me.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_00]: I guess either way, being too up or too down, not paying attention, taking your surroundings for granted, which often include opportunities, like you missed things that are always that have been there the entire time, but something has to kind of shake a joyer, your attention, yes.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: To recognize the distinct that you've been passing was the thing that you need to pick up on the way home for the last two years, on the way in.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_00]: Right, on the way, on the way, on the time stamp it.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we talked about that all the time.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_02]: But it's like you said about an upmarket and a downmarket, the downside of overly time stamping.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_02]: You time stamping so much that you've sat down and you're wallowing in it now, you got your feet up.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_02]: Uh-oh, uh-oh, uh-oh.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_02]: Pay attention to what's going on, but don't lock in to where you got the blinders on that you see no way out.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you know what I mean.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_02]: So that's very important when we're talking about,
- 10:48[SPEAKER_02]: It's just got better, and opportunity is right here presenting itself, and oh, I see a universe.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_02]: Often, you'll get presented with so many duds, so many duds come knocking on the door.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_02]: And you're enthusiasm in the beginning, you're in attaining.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_02]: You're listening, because it's new, it's fresh.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_02]: You have a fresh renewed energy.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_02]: I don't even want to say renewed because it's new.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_02]: We'll get to the renewal.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_02]: So now because it's fresh and you're very excited about this thing that you're passionate about.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_02]: And then when the, the, the, the, not something to do with start to happen and you start talking about it.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_02]: only to realize like, no, and then another knock comes on opportunity, sounds amazing, and you're open, you're receptive until you figure out that this is the 12th roofing company or the 12th solar company that knock on my door.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_02]: I've told the last 11.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_02]: I'm interested in this
- 12:02[SPEAKER_02]: For my home, you just can't seem to quite answer the questions I have.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_02]: So that makes me skeptical about the whole process.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_02]: Because no two people have the same answer to the same one question.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_02]: Fast forward.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_02]: Now.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_02]: There's an active lawsuit going on right now the commercials there's someone the solar company is here in Texas because it was it wasn't handled properly I'm gonna say that I'm gonna say it was a scam the same is is accurate in another realm let's say for instance Now that you went through so many doors imagine now if a reputable real life Solar company knocks on that door
- 12:46[SPEAKER_02]: They have all the answers to all the questions, but you're so burned out with the twelfth that have come previous or prior to this legit opportunity.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_02]: This legit upstanding company.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yep.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_02]: I'm treating you the way that I should have treated them.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_02]: They used up the enthusiasm and the grace and the acceptance I should have for you.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_02]: with foolishness, the same as true relationships.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_02]: You go through so many dry, dead, dirt, relationships.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_02]: You get a callous.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_02]: So when the real shows up, as you can sometimes mishandle our fumble, the authentic real love that genuinely cares for you, because you're still treating them just like the trash.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_02]: that prefaced the real, you understand?
- 13:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, indeed.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_02]: So now you're frustrated, but imagine they have the love and the compassion to see, I know why you're acting like this.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_02]: I was the same way or I saw the same thing.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't let it or allow it to affect me the same way that I see it affects you.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna walk you through this thing.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna stick by your side and be persistent and consistent so that
- 14:00[SPEAKER_02]: The longer I'm here, you're gonna see my value.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_02]: And once you do, because you're genuinely, you're genuinely seeking that value.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_02]: Now you're gonna recognize and then be like, this opportunity, right?
- 14:11[SPEAKER_02]: It might be the real thing.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_02]: So now you start to pay attention and engage, low and behold.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_02]: If you let go of yesterday and the new has shown up and you let it, life changes as you know it.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, man, that, uh, had a conversation with, with James Clyde, I started up to James Clyde being worse.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_00]: Come on, buddy, I'm going to bust through the old.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_00]: The FW film crew doing this thing.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_00]: This, and we were talking about, um, opportunities not panting out.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, and we were just talking about the, the twelfth people that knock on your door.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_00]: Man, and you see the opportunity, but it doesn't, it doesn't work out.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_00]: Applying to that job or persona opportunity or this project don't work out, this project don't work out.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_00]: And he said something to the fact that God will continue to close doors until the one that opened that he opens you see it, right?
- 15:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_00]: I said, man, how do we avoid being so condition to doors closing that we think doors closing is what we're is a reflection of our value?
- 15:25[SPEAKER_00]: right I'm I don't I for whatever reason I can't crack the code to get back into the space that I was in right this thing is that these deals are going up to the in something happens right or these things are going up into the positive deposit don't come how do you not feed into that right you know I'm saying this and I had to look at it like man I'm like how many
- 15:56[SPEAKER_00]: How many of these scenarios am I creating based on my ambition?
- 16:02[SPEAKER_00]: That's not a line with where I was supposed to be God and creating the really creating the frustration for myself as to why this thing isn't happening and he was It was like man have you ever thought about?
- 16:15[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, yeah, but yeah, you know what I'm saying is I got a, and we were both those violent because he was, we were basically in the accountability call, which is right.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_00]: It's common.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, well, man, you got all of this, why don't you do it, why don't you do this with that?
- 16:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm deflecting.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_00]: So when you got all of this, you know, why don't you do this with that, both of us both away with, you show, right, you could be so busy trying to, um,
- 16:47[SPEAKER_00]: So busy, trying to fly to Mexico in a golf string, when the ass was really, you need this road trip.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_00]: You need this road trip.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm not going anywhere until that golf string is ready.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, if all of my lap, but the card that I got, that's capable, right here.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_01]: That's right, here's bill for it.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_00]: It ain't the way I see it.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_00]: And the way I saw it's got two tanks on it.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_00]: That's right, here's bill for it.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_00]: That's been some of my not allowing these to get better because sometimes I said it too.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_00]: I said a lot, I sometimes I'm so tired to a solution that on paper makes sense.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_02]: wasn't destined for me though it was it mine was I was I was I supposed to be doing this wasn't destined for me though with some with some areas in your life to get better man that you allow and be better I'm I'm listening better uh I'm I'm I'm I'm overheated man a lot of people that know me gonna be like oh I'll say I'm I'm a full steamer
- 18:06[SPEAKER_02]: But we get them through that wall.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_02]: That's a door right there.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_02]: Stop it.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, knock this wall down his wall in the way.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_02]: That's a door.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_02]: Come on, you see him coming over to plan here, working.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_02]: We'll get us on the other side of this wall.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_02]: Just let me get through this wall.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_01]: Hey buddy, there's a door right there.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_02]: It's behind, from where you're standing, you don't see it, right?
- 18:36[SPEAKER_02]: But if you'll just trust me for 30 seconds, take two steps to your right.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_02]: There's a door right here.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_02]: I'm getting better at the first time that person says, hey, there's a door right here.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_02]: At least now, it's blurring.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_02]: It's a door.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_02]: I don't have to knock this wall down at all and that translates to a lot of different areas in my life as far as even physically something needed to be moved grab it through it on my shoulder.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
- 19:14[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because I got a neighbor that'll need to move a couch up to stairs.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you went back, you went back three months.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_00]: I was also about two weeks ago.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, no, go through.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna stay in this thing up.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not two of you.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_00]: It's one of you that wanted me to go through it on his back.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_00]: I don't clean fire on it.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_00]: I do not.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_02]: So instead of just grabbing and throwing it on my shoulder now,
- 19:40[SPEAKER_02]: I'll use the Dalai, I'll call a friend, I'll, my son right here, I got three sons at the house.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_02]: Why I'm picking up on this?
- 19:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_02]: Hey guys, come help me out, do this.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_02]: I'm getting better at receiving and accepting assistance and idea.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_02]: a lot.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_02]: What about you?
- 20:03[SPEAKER_02]: Would you anything you see coming or have you feel like you've already accepted or gotten into it?
- 20:11[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's a it's a kind of what you say and I don't want to duplicate it.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_00]: So I'll I'll give it this spin is that I seek out that information there.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_00]: You kind of end it saying that because I'm very much the same way if I'm
- 20:30[SPEAKER_00]: But I've gotten better at, what do you think about this?
- 20:35[SPEAKER_00]: And not even, I take the stuff further.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_00]: What do you think about this and let the response come?
- 20:40[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, because I, a step back is, what do you think about this?
- 20:45[SPEAKER_00]: I think, because you're still talking to you.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, what do you think about this?
- 20:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think, because in my, I think I'm asking you, but I'm convincing you.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_00]: So if you had a way, as I'm explaining my way, clearly,
- 20:56[SPEAKER_02]: It's got to be what you're finishing.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, literally, you're going to see it.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to see it the way that I do by the time my offerings is playing in it.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_00]: But it's on, and that was on the part of the conversation with a, well, client, he was like, he was, he was, he was trying to, he was telling me something, and I was like, bro, how, though?
- 21:15[SPEAKER_00]: You need a, I said, no, like, we can, we can clear that gymnastics.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_00]: That exercise is, that floor exercise is done.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_00]: How I do not know how, right, in, in, in, in,
- 21:32[SPEAKER_00]: mentioned that the Joe T before, like he's quick to how this, right?
- 21:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_00]: With all the success that one may assume you have, and I think that's what I've held on to is being a person in corporate roles.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_00]: Why I had to have the solution?
- 21:49[SPEAKER_00]: It's not that I couldn't ask because the solution came from a team.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_00]: I learned that lesson too.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_00]: But when they're walking to these rooms,
- 21:58[SPEAKER_00]: have something, right?
- 21:59[SPEAKER_00]: And it couldn't be spitball, no, or grabbing out the, you know, the crack of mine, or just just pulling something out.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_00]: So I've, I've lived life post corporate a lot like that.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_00]: It's just,
- 22:13[SPEAKER_00]: I, people are expecting me to know the how, right?
- 22:18[SPEAKER_02]: And I, don't know how, is, is something that you said that, because right now, this just happened.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_02]: Imagine it.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_02]: This too.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_02]: I'm currently training, uh, you met him, uh, Wall Street with Wallace.
- 22:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, we got us and I have a conversation with that brother.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, I'm training with him because he won't get him.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, he's ready.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_02]: He's scheduled as a phone call.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_02]: Let's, uh, we can do next week if he's over.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_02]: I can't express how much I respect this brother's knowledge base.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_02]: He's well versed in explains in a way that I've never seen, dealing with stock market for the audience that's unaware.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_02]: He's a trader, stocks, investments, portfolios, things like that.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_02]: And typically, historically, I haven't been the person to be at ground zero knowledge base on a thing.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_02]: Just the type of life I've had, I've had so much exposure to different things.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_02]: There's not many things you can talk about in front of me and I have absolutely zero.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_02]: So this is another thing I've had some level of exposure.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_02]: So I can have conversations, but you're really doing yourself a disservice.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_02]: instead of just yielding yourself a hundred percent.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_02]: Even if you think you know it, just don't know it.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I don't know it.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_02]: I've heard conversations about it, but I'm gonna say I don't know it because perhaps the way you're about to explain it or give it to me or break it down it's gonna make a lot more sense to me and lo and behold, that's been the case.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_02]: But flip side of the coin,
- 24:24[SPEAKER_02]: that same portion of my personality, I think I allow.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_02]: So if I'm in a, if I'm in a think tank, and there's multiple people there, and we're bouncing ideas and sharing ideas, and someone's trying to, like, they're like, hey, like what's your thoughts on this, like, walk me through this right here, this trade?
- 24:43[SPEAKER_02]: So as I'm talking,
- 24:46[SPEAKER_02]: I'm literally going through all of my thought processes out loud, and it will seem like I'm fumbling my way through, so it's like, ah, don't be as many now, but I'm I'm I'm actually not be as in because I laugh and joke so much it'll be taken as your BS and but I'm actively
- 25:07[SPEAKER_02]: Like talking myself through that perhaps I, and now the light comes on in the middle of me talking it out and it comes to me and now it's like, this is this, oh, yes, that's absolutely correct, I just be asking me there for a second.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_02]: So a lot of times that say thing instead of me just saying,
- 25:28[SPEAKER_02]: I have an idea of it and here's my thoughts here.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_02]: I start to attack it and just go at it and figure my way through it while I'm talking about it.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_02]: And the person that's listening perhaps they're listening for a precise because I'm trying to show you something.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_02]: I may not want to sit here and let you figure it out through the whole entire conversation.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_02]: If you can't pull it and shoot it at me right now, you don't know it the way I want you to know it.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_02]: Stop right there and let me, let me get you up to that level.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_02]: So, yeah, you eventually got to it.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want you to take the round about scenic route though.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_02]: I want to sharpen your tool enough that when I hit you with this, hey, what did you do with this?
- 26:13[SPEAKER_02]: What's your projection for this?
- 26:14[SPEAKER_02]: I'll see this, this, so the movement is this.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_02]: you're trying to get me precise like that and I'm in my old way of doing things because I don't want to come across an attic with or less knowledgeable about this topic you've poured into me so you should I want you to feel like he's getting it I am getting it but there's more you see what I mean so how do you gaze are you
- 26:43[SPEAKER_00]: is the process getting better at gauging, went to yield to somebody else to, when the yield to the expert, because it's not like you don't accept expert advice, but it's still an element of proving something, right, when it might not be necessary.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm asking because I struggle with
- 27:12[SPEAKER_00]: math subjects.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_00]: I don't even know the name of the match he taken.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_00]: And I know, I'm, I know I'll be asking her when I respond to it.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_00]: And it's, it's, it's, it's, it's ingest to do it.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_00]: But still as I'm, as I'm from them, my words, I still think I'm trying to sound.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_00]: It's over the moment.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_00]: I know what she already is.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_00]: It's, it, it has nothing.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_00]: That's actually,
- 27:36[SPEAKER_00]: That's the opposite.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_00]: This is physics that you're talking about, uh, life science.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_00]: We, we that doing that.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_00]: So how do you do me that out?
- 27:43[SPEAKER_00]: How do you, how do you, or do you just, is ego, how much ego is in a way of you getting to answer sooner?
- 27:53[SPEAKER_00]: I guess it's a way to ask it.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_00]: Because you know they know, but ego says, I want to show you.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_02]: I got some of this,
- 28:06[SPEAKER_02]: but I dare not walk away allowing you to think I'm at one.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_02]: When in actuality, who cares if you think I'm at one?
- 28:18[SPEAKER_02]: If you think I'm at one, that's only another approach at the breakdown or explanation you're gonna share with me anyway.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_02]: So let's say I'm really on six out of the 10 or even five.
- 28:31[SPEAKER_02]: Let's say I'm at five out of 10.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_02]: for the expert that's actually training and teaching me and the goal is to get me to ten.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_02]: If he's listening and assesses that perhaps you're at one and he comes with another approach, thinking he's trying to get me from one to five.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_02]: Imagine if that's something that I thought I had and I really didn't have that portion.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_02]: So him thinking he's taking me from one to five
- 29:02[SPEAKER_02]: because I was quiet and still long enough to, just like I said, oh my God, two episodes ago when we were talking about as I'm talking to, to brain about you.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_02]: I'm trying to teach you something before I can even get it out.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_02]: I know I know I know I know I know.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_02]: I was drawing that parallel.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_02]: Turn it all, turn it down.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_02]: Even if you think you know,
- 29:32[SPEAKER_02]: Let the expert talk, let the trainer, the teacher, the authority, let them talk, let them train, let them teach.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_02]: They even, if you've seen this a thousand times, one thousand one may be something that turns a light on in you, somewhere else that possibly doesn't even have anything to do with this.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, sitting in it, oh no, what you got?
- 29:57[SPEAKER_02]: You see what I mean?
- 29:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_02]: lessons, multi-tiered lessons happening, learning the market, but also learning real life skills that are applied daily, that I'm trying to convey to my children, humility, that I'm humilly,
- 30:27[SPEAKER_00]: Do you have a fear getting better at a thing?
- 30:30[SPEAKER_00]: And I'll explain it from my perspective of where I have struggled with it is the expectations I have of me on the other side of being better at a thing.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_00]: Cause I expect a lot of myself, right?
- 30:44[SPEAKER_00]: And I project all those expectations on me.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_00]: because I can never let you down more than I let me down.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so if I just peanut butter spread, I expect Jesus across the blood of me.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, like sometimes that's a little daunting to be like, man, I want to get to this next level, but what does this next level bring, right?
- 31:03[SPEAKER_00]: And sometimes it's almost a self sabotage to not step in the full greatness and not be better at it thing.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_00]: And not allow a thing to be better because you've mastered
- 31:17[SPEAKER_02]: average and we talked about that and you don't say yes, how does that, has that double played into the biggest problem I have that that I can acknowledge in that is acknowledgement and being good at more than one thing sometimes creates a monster.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_02]: like your acknowledgement outside acknowledgement, above, more so outside because you can fall in love with, and that becomes your identity.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody that comes to you, they walk away with an answer, they walk away with a solution.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_02]: You're the go-to.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_02]: If nobody else can get this done, I know who James can get this done.
- 32:08[SPEAKER_02]: And that'll, that'll, I don't care who you are.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_02]: unbearably arrogant, but you buy into that sooner or later.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_02]: Imagine your whole life of being the quote unquote go to.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_02]: And so now if that's the case, that becomes your identity.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_02]: So you almost feel like
- 32:33[SPEAKER_02]: identity episode.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_02]: Imagine now how you're going to handle, are you capable of handling someone coming to you and asking you to do something or asking you for a solution or to demonstrate something.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_02]: And you actually have to say, I don't know.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_02]: And it's easy for an onlooker or an audience to be like, you don't know.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_02]: You just don't know.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_02]: You didn't hear what I say here.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_02]: Let's narrow it down.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_02]: If anybody can bake something, we know to go to Aunt Sew and Sew.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_01]: COVID comes through, she loses her taste.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_02]: She can no longer taste the thing.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_02]: I can't make cakes in them all, baby, I can't taste them anymore.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_00]: Sure you can, you've done this so much.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_02]: I don't measure, I look, I taste, and I cook from that.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_02]: I guarantee if that's your identity, you're going to make a few attempts at it until word creeps back to you like, hey, we're getting the cake from the bakery this year.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_02]: You know what that means?
- 33:45[SPEAKER_02]: It's called up with me and I lost my touch.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_02]: Can you truly deal with your identity changing now?
- 33:56[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe you don't know everything.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_02]: I always knew I didn't know everything.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just not used to having to tell you.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_02]: You typically ask me things that I know, but as they get older, in my knee, brain, family, friends, and they're asking more complex things that happen to be a bluff or beyond my scope.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_02]: Having the discipline to say, I just don't know that.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_02]: And I know we've been talking about this for three weeks, but that little portion right there, I still don't understand.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_02]: I just had to do that this week, and I feel like it released me.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_02]: I did it.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_02]: I allow.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_02]: I asked a very vulnerable question that in my mind, I had convinced myself, this is too basic that if I asked this
- 34:52[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know anything about what we're talking about.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_02]: I asked it anyway, and it absolutely paned out for me, because you know what it was meant with.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_02]: That's actually a great question and I don't know why more people don't ask that question.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_02]: Perhaps more people don't ask it because it's so rudimentary that people are like, I'm not gonna ask you what happens if I put water in that pot.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_02]: No, hey, what happens if you put the water in that pot right now?
- 35:22[SPEAKER_00]: It's gonna shatter because it's glass and two temperatures are different.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_02]: A very complex thing, concept, but you think and it's so basic that you dare not even ask it.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_02]: Learning as I go people, that's a real thing.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_02]: I'm dealing with that at 48 years old, steel talking myself into, and it could be a
- 35:49[SPEAKER_02]: is a drug, male ego and pride, is a drug because buddy, if you a man and you don't have a certain level of arrogance and self-belief in a thing to have somebody talk to you, the thought don't cross your mind, you can shut up talking to me about that.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_02]: There's at least one thing in every man that he feels like he's mastered that if anybody comes try to tell him anything about it, you're gonna say, man, you can shut up talking to me about that.
- 36:19[SPEAKER_00]: who just explained the last three and a half years in my life.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_00]: Man, like coming out of corporate, that was the identity.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what I, that's what I idolized, which is dangerous, making neither of anything.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I got a high offer to fill in of being right about a thing.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_00]: And it didn't have to be public.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_00]: I know I'm right here.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_00]: No, so, so me in the bonus, I don't need to, I don't need to make movies later.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't need to, I don't need to shout out in the meeting at any level.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_00]: So many that thing, come on, break bread, baby.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_00]: But that and they even, that's not unintentional or funny.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_00]: Um, because it led to that.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_00]: March in April, we're fantastic, yeah, yeah, yeah, I had I had as a fantastic March or April since I left court in that regard, no, no, no, I know what you mean, but you get used to with, you get used to a thing and that thing got better every year again, a shallow analogy, a shallow connection of of of what we started talking about, but
- 37:43[SPEAKER_00]: Be mindful of how you associate the value of a thing that
- 37:48[SPEAKER_00]: That becomes part of you.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_00]: I did like that's what it was.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_00]: It was part of my day one.
- 37:51[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't an event was like a lot of while I got it this year.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_00]: Like no, it's Birdman hands, right.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_02]: It makes it much able to typically be in my season for years.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_02]: Like this, this, this my season.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_02]: I'm happy man.
- 38:07[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, no, I mean, like you talk about for them.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_02]: That's what I was like, but I can tell you very clearly, but I'm saying and the last three years.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_02]: I can tell you very clearly outside of
- 38:17[SPEAKER_02]: Now my season, my 30, 60 days season is no longer my season, but it, but it, how are you gonna deal with it?
- 38:29[SPEAKER_02]: That might be unhinges, I get off of that, listen, hey, yeah, that's what we say, what did we say?
- 38:37[SPEAKER_02]: But,
- 38:38[SPEAKER_02]: And the May, this May 18th, fifth, the same May 18th.
- 38:42[SPEAKER_00]: And that is the eighth, seventh, seventh, six.
- 38:46[SPEAKER_00]: We're in a faith with faith.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, the first week will pay.
- 38:49[SPEAKER_00]: He's seventh.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_00]: It's like a mile was two, it's a stir, isn't it?
- 38:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_00]: Year of our Lord, 2020, sick, wicked, wicked, we can conclude that for sure is that.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_02]: Did we say no longer than the end of May?
- 39:02[SPEAKER_00]: And unhinged, episode will be out.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_00]: You know.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_00]: Hmm.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, have flu.
- 39:08[SPEAKER_00]: You know, back for my 30.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_00]: 31 days, man.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_00]: Before my 30.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_00]: Don't show me.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_00]: You need the 30 facts.
- 39:17[SPEAKER_00]: At last, we got 30 days to do a thing.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_00]: If I get to the 30, if I get to the 30, if I still got a day.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I still got a day.
- 39:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, we can get to.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_00]: Uh-huh.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, but that is, it's a, like, yeah, that's a,
- 39:33[SPEAKER_00]: that that has been a major challenge on which kind of leads me to the final element of the conversation is defining better, though, right?
- 39:45[SPEAKER_00]: Because based on what I just said, life is infinitely not infinite.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_00]: Life is not as good because of how I define March and April.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_00]: determining what better looks like.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_01]: Be mindful of what a value is placed in a thing.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_01]: Because it can feel so good in the moment that will inflate the value.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_02]: But we gotta be careful if that thing is seasonal.
- 40:24[SPEAKER_02]: But we put lifelong value on a seasonal thing.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_02]: Life-long value on a seasonal thing is detrimental to your health, superdative.
- 40:35[SPEAKER_02]: Mentally physically, emotionally, there are two-minute things tied to things that we place value on.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_02]: So if I, if I overly inflate the value of something that's not, if I live a 70-year life,
- 40:52[SPEAKER_02]: And I put a 70-year value on something that lasts 10 years.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_02]: That's a 60-year deficit.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_02]: Did I get enough enjoyment out of that valuable thing that's going to sustain?
- 41:06[SPEAKER_02]: For the 60, the remaining 60, or am I miserable for 60 years?
- 41:13[SPEAKER_02]: Because I put such value in a 10-year thing.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_02]: that I never recovered from it being removed from my grasp.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_00]: And imagine living the 60 years beyond his life's man, only thinking about the 10 years where that actually mattered.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, oh, oh, where that actually happened.
