  something. But I just can't get over how good this this EP is.

  It's called Perseverance, or you could say Perseverance, but it's it is literally

  separated as Perseverance, So make sure you leave the space in there. It's

  an EP, It's got five songs on it. All five are bangers.

  But I'll tell the world that the title track, Perseverance, it was an

  immediate out of the gate favorite for me and Lyddy and Opus grew on me

  to overtake Perseverance's number one spot. Those are the two I listened to like

  pretty much back to back to back to back to back to back to back,

  so I appreciate it. And you know, just a quick backstory,

  so you do have it right. The title of the EP is per Severance.

  Yeah, And the reason I kind of came up with that is,

  I mean it's kind of on the nose, right I went through a pretty

  bad personal severance in my life back in twenty fifteen twenty sixteen. But through

  that severance, I learned to persevere, mainly at the time for my two
• 3:13
  young children that I had. So there's actually a line in the song Perseverance
• 3:17
  where it says perseverance for the two have it all, and I'm literally talking
• 3:25
  about my children. Yeah, there's a lot of heart that goes into that
• 3:30
  song. So yeah, I appreciate it. It's evident from the off that
• 3:34
  this was very personal. Yeah, oh for sure. I thought it was

  way out there with this one. It's and it definitely comes through. I

  mean, you can tell when there's passion behind a song and when there isn't,

  when it's just kind of like I have an idea for a song,

  I'm going to make it, and you know, there's not really a lot

  of feeling behind it, or maybe it's just to fill up an album.

  Maybe sometimes this is my throwaway song. I didn't get any feelings of any

  throwaway songs on this album whatsoever, Like it feels it feels like each one

  I've since you know, gotten remarried, and my wife, Miranda, who

  I love so dearly. She's just been when you guys have better, you

  She actually had went through a medical issue recently and she literally I mean she's

  fine now, but she literally was sitting in a in a lonely chair.

  She couldn't get up out of the chair. So that the song starts off,

  you know, sitting in the lonely chair feeling like no one cares or

  whatever the lyrics are. I don't even remember lyrics, but written about that

  song was written about about her and and and what what I had to go

  through, and I kind of had to see her go through that. So

  no, it is definitely a very personal, very there's definitely reasons behind it.

  a it's a little motif that I had been playing around with for years,

  fresh personal situation. So I don't think I'm gonna get too much into the

  lyrics at this point, but basically, I guess overall speaking, it's it's

  it's just talking about relationships in general. I don't make currify. My wife

  it's like with any relationship you have, whether it's with a friend or a

  out, you're chilling, but sometimes maybe your best friend might cross the line

  But ultimately it was just a motif that I had played around with. But

  theory ish, but it just kind of talks about my writing process and how

  it came along with time. And there are two versions of the song,

  the acoustic version, so it's kind of like a double released single. The

  acoustic version is kind of the original version version of it, but I wanted

  to create like a rocking version of it just to kind of play around in

  vocal harmonies and stuff like that. So I say a little bit, a

  little bit for everybody, But no, again, you know what I've been

  finding is. I used to write songs that just sounded cool, and they

  sound cool they jam. But more recently, you know, I'm I'm you

  know, we're all about the same age, you know I'm getting and it's

  like, I don't have anything to hide at this point. You know what,

  I'm not in junior high. I'm not in high school. I'm not

  trying to keep some image up anymore. I'm just writing music that's coming from

  right now. Weirdly, with the oncoming apocalypse, I'm less afraid. Yeah,

  of that wasn't family or friends. Like everybody who had watched the videos,

  commented on them, subscribed. All that stuff I knew were people I knew

  personally. Mexi was the first person I didn't personally know who followed our Facebook

  page, and I was like, holy crap, it's a real fan.

  I was so excited. It's real, It's real. I was so excited.

  So I naturally just like kind of got to know him and fronted him

  on Facebook. And here we are fifteen, almost twenty years later. Don't

  anyway, all of this is a long way around of like, I was

  trying to figure out what to do for this episode. I tossed around several

  ideas. I considered maybe doing a metal music episode, but we've just done

  And given that I just had a celebratory and masturbatory fane audiobook episode, I

  figured, let's take me down a peg and let's make fun of the videos.

  We all made together fifteen years ago, and along the way we'll share

  a little love for the first fan Pancil Shorts ever had, who wasn't family

  have made it better is we actually had a room in the back. We

  shot one or two scenes back there too, Like he shows up with a

  it's a most ridiculous thing, a strap hanging out of the bag.

  was done at the dentist. I came over to the apartment to hang out,

  and I was like, you I can remember somebody barely talk. I

  had a bunch of teeth taken out, and we were just like, this

  is hilarious. Let's make a video out of it, like right there.

  So in the video, Stevie really is he's he's not in pain, but

  he's really bandaged up. It's it's a genuine dental stuff he had done that

  day. Uh so it's it's absolutely genuine. And we just were like,

  just have me mishear it as something else. And then at the end,

  the twist is that I understood you correctly the entire time and was fucking with
