- 0:23chickens. Hey everybody.
- 0:29Good morning from the porch because it's too rainy to be at
- 0:33the chicken coop. Although they seem to love the
- 0:36rain, I just don't want to be out there in the rain standing
- 0:40there because it's driving this morning.
- 0:43It's one of those Southern mornings that you have to just
- 0:46deal with sometimes. Okay?
- 0:48So today we're talking about asking for help and when you ask
- 0:53for help, does that is that a sign of weakness?
- 0:55And for a lot of people asking for help is not something that
- 0:59comes easy. They just Side.
- 1:01Hey, I don't want to ask for help, I don't want to seem like
- 1:04I'm bothering anybody. I don't want to seem like I
- 1:07can't handle this on my own. They've got a Litany of excuses.
- 1:12And I'm here to tell you that asking for help is actually a
- 1:16very pointed sign that you are on a spiritual path of growth
- 1:24because you understand that, we are all connected.
- 1:28And that, that is you actually taking control.
- 1:30Role of a situation and saying, I can't do this on my own, I
- 1:34need somebody else's expertise, I need their help.
- 1:37I, I don't care if it's just to drop food off at your house.
- 1:40When you ask for help, you are showing a sign of saying.
- 1:45I am humbling myself to know that I am not an island and that
- 1:49it's okay to ask for help. Now, the flip side of this is,
- 1:53when you ask someone for help, you're actually empowering them
- 1:57on a spiritual level to say, you know what I matter.
- 2:00Person. Get is giving me a piece of
- 2:03their life to say, help me doesn't matter if it's two fold,
- 2:05the towels, or if it's something big, you're asking for help, and
- 2:10you're empowering, whatever that, you know, that person is
- 2:14to you to step up to a different level.
- 2:17It's a win-win situation. Now, sometimes people don't like
- 2:21it. When you ask them for help,
- 2:22they'll say, oh my God, they asked me to help them move or
- 2:25something like this. And you have to question, you
- 2:27know. Okay well did I overstep my
- 2:29boundaries? Sure, there are those moments
- 2:31when we ask for something so big to someone that we barely know.
- 2:35There was a whole Seinfeld episode about that and it was
- 2:38very funny and you know, it probably was right in that
- 2:43situation, you know, it was not something that you were supposed
- 2:46to do and ask somebody to help you move when you barely know
- 2:50them. But for most of us that's not
- 2:52the case. For most of us, this comes down
- 2:54to one. Simple fact, we don't like to
- 2:57ask for help and when we do we feel like we're a burden.
- 3:00And we're not looking at it, from the perspective of this
- 3:03person is going to feel extraordinarily valued by me,
- 3:06actually taking that initiative and asking them for the help and
- 3:12empowering their soul to feel like they're valued and matter.
- 3:16So, again, win-win situation, the real Crux of it is, how do I
- 3:21get myself to say I need help? How do I get myself to actually
- 3:24say? The words?
- 3:26I could use the help. I wish I had the help, I mean
- 3:30It's so funny. How this shows up?
- 3:32Because for years I would not let somebody come in and help me
- 3:37at all. We cleaning I would not.
- 3:39I'm very particular no surprise there and I didn't grow up in a
- 3:45house where my mother ever allowed that either.
- 3:47And I just, you know, this is what I did.
- 3:50And then I realized that the time that it was taking me out
- 3:54of my life to do. This would allow me to
- 3:58essentially do more coaching sessions help What people what
- 4:01was I doing? When I'm kind of plugged it in
- 4:03together and I said, okay I'm going to do this.
- 4:07I put my daughter on the mission.
- 4:09I said, can you please help me find somebody which was my first
- 4:12thing? I didn't want to be the one to
- 4:14look for it because I knew if I was going to look for it, I
- 4:16would be too damn picky. So I let my daughter do it and
- 4:20my daughter found this wonderful woman and her crew and she comes
- 4:24in and they clean. And this woman is so incredibly.
- 4:28Sweet mind you the girls egg. Exile.
- 4:31Whenever they come to clean, the girls from the chicken coop,
- 4:34provide eggs to the girls that come and clean.
- 4:37Everybody's so happy about it. They constantly tell me how much
- 4:41they love to come out here and do this because it's so Serene
- 4:45out here and that it's, it makes them feel good.
- 4:48And I love that they tell me that all the time.
- 4:51You know? And here's the other piece of
- 4:53this, I was able to pass her so many other people to recommend
- 4:57her to. She's honored for the fact that
- 5:00I That I'm honored for it. So I guess what is the house?
- 5:03Always perfect. No, it's not, but I can let go
- 5:07of it because I'm like, you know what?
- 5:09It at least 90% of it is done the way I like it.
- 5:14I can fix the rest of it and I can allow myself to have the
- 5:18help. And for that piece, I can peace
- 5:21of mind so to speak. I can absolutely embrace it.
- 5:26So asking for help no matter how simple the In is, or how dire
- 5:31the situation is, it is something that we have to look
- 5:35at because I promise you, it will change your life, and when
- 5:39you ask for help it empowers people around you.
- 5:42So, ask for some help. All right, my friends.
- 5:45I hope you have a blessed and much drier day than I'm having
- 5:49bye. And I'll see you tomorrow.
