- 0:17hit the bell for notifications,
- 0:19and you'll know when we go live or post a new show or a new clip.
- 0:22Or whatever,
- 0:23so I'd appreciate it if you do that.
- 0:25Suzanne Grishman is going to be here.
- 0:26She's got an update on what Mercury One is doing
- 0:29to help the Texas flood victims.
- 0:31California is pushing back against the Trump administration's
- 0:35attempts to save organized sports,
- 0:37because why wouldn't you?
- 0:38I'll give you the latest there,
- 0:39but we're gonna start by doing Superman.
- 0:42Immigrant.
- 0:44Yes,
- 0:44by the way,
- 0:44I'm here at Glenn Beck's ranch,
- 0:46uh,
- 0:46today,
- 0:47and we're doing the show here for the next few days.
- 0:49Uh,
- 0:49I'm up in Idaho and,
- 0:51uh,
- 0:52enjoying my,
- 0:53I don't know,
- 0:53separation from the world,
- 0:56uh,
- 0:56out there,
- 0:57including,
- 0:57I'm in the,
- 0:58you know,
- 0:58I'm in the middle of nowhere.
- 0:59I got off a highway and I just kept driving and driving and driving and driving,
- 1:01and eventually
- 1:02I showed up at Glenn's ranch.
- 1:04So that's where I am,
- 1:05and I'm,
- 1:05I'm maybe a little bit separated from the Hollywood
- 1:07hype,
- 1:08but there's a ton of it right now,
- 1:09honestly,
- 1:10and
- 1:11it's amazing to kind of see it all rush out here.
- 1:14Um,
- 1:15first of all,
- 1:16the director of this movie,
- 1:17the new Superman.
- 1:18And
- 1:19we'll get into why this is tied to.
- 1:21Illegal immigration
- 1:22because it shouldn't be,
- 1:24but
- 1:24why is it tied to that?
- 1:25In just a second,
- 1:27James Gunn is a guy who,
- 1:28he was the director of the,
- 1:30um,
- 1:31Guardians of the Galaxy series.
- 1:33He had a bit of a flare up in the media.
- 1:35You might remember.
- 1:35I'll remind you of the details on that one here in,
- 1:37uh,
- 1:38just a moment,
- 1:38but.
- 1:39James Gunn is,
- 1:41uh,
- 1:41the guy.
- 1:42He is kind of everywhere right now and you're
- 1:44seeing him everywhere in the media right now.
- 1:46They are going full bore
- 1:48to,
- 1:48uh,
- 1:48you know,
- 1:49balls to the wall to promote this new
- 1:51Superman movie that is coming out,
- 1:53I believe on Friday.
- 1:55Um,
- 1:55he was,
- 1:56uh,
- 1:56on the,
- 1:57uh,
- 1:58uh,
- 1:59Rick and Morty cartoon,
- 2:01uh,
- 2:01I guess fighting with Zack Snyder
- 2:03as the two directors he's been doing out there.
- 2:06Uh,
- 2:06and they were fighting in,
- 2:07in,
- 2:07in on that show,
- 2:08and you know,
- 2:08he's making cartoon appearances.
- 2:10Um,
- 2:11he,
- 2:11uh,
- 2:11was in the news for saying that the Batman 2 script is finished.
- 2:16So it's Superman director talking about the
- 2:20script of Batman 2.
- 2:22I don't know if the actual writer is done with it,
- 2:25but he's telling everybody that he's done with it,
- 2:26so there's that.
- 2:28Then you have James Gunn releasing an official Spotify playlist
- 2:32for each Superman character,
- 2:35which
- 2:36it's hard to imagine a story that I would be interested in less than,
- 2:40than that.
- 2:41But the guy's just everywhere and he's talking about everything,
- 2:44and I,
- 2:44you know,
- 2:44look,
- 2:44that's a normal thing that you do when you have a new movie coming out.
- 2:47I mean,
- 2:47I don't know who this new,
- 2:48new Superman is.
- 2:50Honestly,
- 2:50I don't,
- 2:50I don't know,
- 2:51I,
- 2:51I,
- 2:51I,
- 2:52I don't follow Superman movies all that closely,
- 2:54um,
- 2:55but
- 2:55he is,
- 2:56uh,
- 2:56you know,
- 2:57they're making James Gunn sort of the central figure when it comes to
- 3:01the,
- 3:02um,
- 3:03the promotion of this movie.
- 3:04And it's a big deal,
- 3:05right?
- 3:05Like,
- 3:06uh,
- 3:06DC is,
- 3:07is relaunching all of their characters right now.
- 3:09Um,
- 3:10they're in the middle of doing this.
- 3:11Here they are all in the like the,
- 3:12the red carpet.
- 3:13Um,
- 3:14I looked at this,
- 3:15by the way,
- 3:15and I said,
- 3:15is that a real body?
- 3:18I was listening on podcast,
- 3:18there's a female actress in the middle,
- 3:20and I,
- 3:20her name,
- 3:21of course,
- 3:21I know,
- 3:22which is
- 3:23Rachel.
- 3:24Brosnahan,
- 3:26I'm sure she's lovely.
- 3:27She's playing,
- 3:28uh,
- 3:28Lois Lane apparently,
- 3:29and I looked at this for a quick second and I was like,
- 3:32is,
- 3:32I,
- 3:32I mean,
- 3:33I know I've heard the,
- 3:33uh,
- 3:34the idea of hourglass form before.
- 3:36Is that her?
- 3:37If you,
- 3:37if you zoom in,
- 3:39not that I did that,
- 3:40but if you zoom in,
- 3:41you will see that her body is not actually shaped like she has a 4 inch waist.
- 3:46It's just the dress,
- 3:47a little trick of the,
- 3:48of the camera there.
- 3:49So just so you know,
- 3:50she's still healthy,
- 3:51she's still alive.
- 3:52If that was a real picture.
- 3:53And it looks like it does.
- 3:54I think she'd be dead within a few minutes,
- 3:56but no,
- 3:57she's still alive,
- 3:57she's OK.
- 3:58Uh,
- 3:59she's gonna be OK for all the promotion of this film.
- 4:01Now,
- 4:01um,
- 4:02James Gunn is a,
- 4:03is a guy who's just been out there everywhere,
- 4:05and
- 4:05he is
- 4:06apparently not paying attention to the news,
- 4:10because if he did,
- 4:11he would know what has happened over the past year or two.
- 4:15When you come out and try to tie your big budget movie
- 4:18to some political issue.
- 4:20Usually what happens is a massive failure.
- 4:23And I don't know.
- 4:24Uh,
- 4:24Superman
- 4:25might be so good.
- 4:27He might be so,
- 4:29um,
- 4:29fascinating.
- 4:31Uh,
- 4:31uh,
- 4:31uh,
- 4:31uh,
- 4:31uh,
- 4:31this movie might be so great and engaging
- 4:34that it makes hundreds of millions of dollars.
- 4:36It's a Superman movie.
- 4:37Americans love Superman,
- 4:38so it may do very well,
- 4:40but I will say
- 4:41he's in the middle of risking,
- 4:43uh,
- 4:43that entire budget right now.
- 4:45He is,
- 4:46uh,
- 4:46out there saying,
- 4:47I don't have anything to say to anybody who's spreading hate.
- 4:50Is that you?
- 4:51Are you spreading hate?
- 4:52Are you in the audience right now thinking,
- 4:54I would love to see that Superman movie,
- 4:55but instead you're spreading hate?
- 4:56I hope not.
- 4:57When he was asked to,
- 4:58uh,
- 4:58about the reaction to his comments,
- 4:59because his comments,
- 5:00uh,
- 5:00were basically,
- 5:01we kind of covered them
- 5:02yesterday,
- 5:03I think it was,
- 5:04where he came out and he said,
- 5:05look,
- 5:05you know,
- 5:05this is a movie about politics.
- 5:07It's a movie about immigration,
- 5:09and it's a movie about,
- 5:10uh,
- 5:10Superman who's an immigrant
- 5:12who's coming here from other places,
- 5:15uh,
- 5:15and,
- 5:15uh,
- 5:16you know,
- 5:16you gotta get into that.
- 5:17This is,
- 5:17this is the reality of the situation,
- 5:19and there's now updates to this.
- 5:21When asked about his reaction to those initial comments,
- 5:24James Gunn explained that the movie is for everyone.
- 5:26And he doesn't have anything to say
- 5:27to anybody about spreading negativity around Superman,
- 5:30however,
- 5:30so it's not really for everybody.
- 5:31If you,
- 5:32you know,
- 5:32if there's people that you're calling haters,
- 5:34and you don't
- 5:36want them to be involved in your movie,
- 5:37well then you're not saying it to everybody.
- 5:39But he says,
- 5:40uh,
- 5:40he doesn't have anything to say to anybody spreading negativity around Superman.
- 5:43I'm not here to judge people,
- 5:44he told Variety at Monday night's Superman premiere at Hollywood's TCL,
- 5:48uh,
- 5:48Chinese
- 5:49Theater,
- 5:49which I believe was Mann's Chinese Theater,
- 5:51but now it's TCL Chinese Theater.
- 5:53Um,
- 5:53I think this movie is about kindness,
- 5:55and I think that there's,
- 5:56uh,
- 5:56that's everyone,
- 5:57um,
- 5:57that's something that everyone can relate to.
- 5:59Sorry,
- 5:59I got in here late.
- 6:00I slept like for an hour and a half and I'm really tired and I,
- 6:03my brain is not working.
- 6:05So I'm doing my best here.
- 6:06Uh,
- 6:06Sean Gunn,
- 6:07who plays Maxwell Lord in the film,
- 6:10stood up for his brother and emphasized that immigrants are integral
- 6:14to the fabric of America.
- 6:15My reaction to the backlash is that
- 6:18exactly,
- 6:19that is exactly what the movie is about.
- 6:21Again,
- 6:21doubling,
- 6:21tripling,
- 6:22quadrupling down on this nonsense.
- 6:24We support our people,
- 6:25you know,
- 6:25we love our immigrants.
- 6:27Yes,
- 6:27Superman is an immigrant,
- 6:28and yes,
- 6:29the people that we support.
- 6:31Uh,
- 6:32in this country are immigrants,
- 6:33and if you don't like that,
- 6:34you're not American.
- 6:35People who say no to immigrants are against the American way.
- 6:38I,
- 6:38and you just think,
- 6:39did you see,
- 6:39did you follow what happened with Snow White?
- 6:41Did you see that whole situation?
- 6:43Did you not notice that people don't want
- 6:46this type of messaging
- 6:48inside their movies?
- 6:49Um,
- 6:50I,
- 6:50and if you're gonna do it,
- 6:51just shut up about it.
- 6:52Let people,
- 6:52you know,
- 6:53lead the horse to water,
- 6:54if you will.
- 6:54You don't need to freaking take the horse's head.
- 6:57And jam it under,
- 6:58under,
- 6:59uh,
- 7:00under the liquid.
- 7:01Like,
- 7:01you know,
- 7:01they're gonna be OK.
- 7:03They,
- 7:03they'll get there,
- 7:04like there's,
- 7:05I,
- 7:06I frankly don't necessarily mind if you're gonna try
- 7:09to stick a little message in your movies.
- 7:11Sometimes it's a good way to kind of like
- 7:13talk about a topic,
- 7:14but you don't need to jam it down our throats.
- 7:16Put it in there if you really feel it's necessary,
- 7:19and we'll judge whether we think we like it or not.
- 7:21Now the comments were basically,
- 7:23hey,
- 7:24uh,
- 7:24Superman came down here from planet,
- 7:26was it planet Krypton,
- 7:27and
- 7:28because he's here from that planet,
- 7:30he's an immigrant,
- 7:31and they,
- 7:31they don't never ever say the word illegal.
- 7:34And that is a,
- 7:35a real issue because
- 7:37there is truth,
- 7:38of course,
- 7:38to the fact that we embrace,
- 7:40uh,
- 7:40immigrants here in the United States.
- 7:41Ones that come here
- 7:43legally,
- 7:43and that is a really important line.
- 7:45Of course,
- 7:45yes,
- 7:46this country,
- 7:46uh,
- 7:47a big part of the story of this country were people
- 7:49coming here from other nations looking for a better life.
- 7:52They came here
- 7:53for the most part,
- 7:54legally,
- 7:55OK?
- 7:56We like that process.
- 7:58I I've said this a million times.
- 7:59I am not,
- 8:00uh,
- 8:00and there's some,
- 8:01uh,
- 8:01on both sides of the aisle,
- 8:03uh,
- 8:03for a long time,
- 8:04this is a left wing,
- 8:05uh,
- 8:05position,
- 8:05uh,
- 8:06tied into unions,
- 8:07who said we don't want legal immigrants here,
- 8:10we don't want illegal or illegal immigrants here.
- 8:12The left then
- 8:13changed that,
- 8:14their,
- 8:14their position on that completely.
- 8:16Um,
- 8:17now they
- 8:19seemingly want illegal immigrants here and aren't so sure about legal ones.
- 8:23I don't even understand that.
- 8:24The right,
- 8:25uh,
- 8:25has been very consistent in saying we don't want illegal immigrants here,
- 8:28we want a process that you have to follow,
- 8:30we want a legal process,
- 8:32you have to follow the law here in this country,
- 8:33we are a nation of laws,
- 8:34not men.
- 8:36That's what we believe,
- 8:37uh,
- 8:38on the right.
- 8:38There are some on the right who are much
- 8:40more restrictive on legal immigration than I am,
- 8:43and there's a conversation to be held,
- 8:44certainly around certain professions and,
- 8:46and making sure that these things happen the right way.
- 8:49Um,
- 8:50that being said,
- 8:50I,
- 8:51I,
- 8:51I think a lot of the people who come here
- 8:53legally are coming here because they actually love the country,
- 8:55right?
- 8:56They're leaving their crap hole of a nation.
- 8:58Um,
- 8:58who was,
- 9:00you know,
- 9:00led by
- 9:01oftentimes communist dictatorships and
- 9:04socialist dictatorships and
- 9:06all sorts of other kings and queens and
- 9:09awful places,
- 9:10and coming here because they say,
- 9:11gosh,
- 9:12you know,
- 9:12where they do it right is America.
- 9:14Those people we welcome here.
- 9:15Right?
- 9:15We want them here.
- 9:16They,
- 9:17they make our country a better place
- 9:19because a lot of times they appreciate it more
- 9:21than our citizens are.
- 9:22They don't have a,
- 9:23uh,
- 9:24uh,
- 9:24unalienable right to be here.
- 9:26If they start breaking laws,
- 9:27if they don't come here legally,
- 9:29they don't have the right to be here.
- 9:30We,
- 9:31we owe,
- 9:31we don't owe the world,
- 9:33um,
- 9:34you know,
- 9:35your import into our nation.
- 9:37However,
- 9:38if you're coming here with an opportunity to make
- 9:40our nation better,
- 9:41we're kind of excited about it.
- 9:42Like we're,
- 9:42we're excited that you're here.
- 9:44We,
- 9:44we're happy that you're here.
- 9:46That's a good thing,
- 9:46right?
- 9:47So,
- 9:49that's,
- 9:49uh,
- 9:49you gotta make that distinction,
- 9:50it's an important distinction.
- 9:52They don't seem to be making it at all here,
- 9:53of course,
- 9:53when it comes to,
- 9:54uh,
- 9:55these,
- 9:55these Hollywood types.
- 9:56Um,
- 9:57now,
- 9:58uh,
- 9:58the,
- 9:58the return of Superman is signaling a culture shift in America.
- 10:02This is a piece from
- 10:03the Federalist.
- 10:04I wanna get into this a little bit because they're pushing back on this narrative
- 10:06from numerous interviews with a filmmaker who's consistently said
- 10:08the Superman portrayal is intended to be a recovery.
- 10:11The wholesome virtuous values we've lost sight of since Christopher Reeve,
- 10:15the aesthetic,
- 10:15uh,
- 10:16decision to portray America's greatest superhero in vibrant colors once again,
- 10:20audiences seem ready to embrace the return of this this kind of Superman,
- 10:23one who grapples
- 10:24with the morality
- 10:26in his quest to do right.
- 10:27Hopefully the resurrection of Superman signals a culture
- 10:30ready for meaning,
- 10:31sincerity,
- 10:32wholesomeness,
- 10:32and renewal.
- 10:33And then like,
- 10:33I think that's what people wanted out of the Superman,
- 10:35right?
- 10:36I mean,
- 10:36I guess it's what I wanted.
- 10:37Now I will,
- 10:38I will say I don't have much need
- 10:40to have Superman movies in my life,
- 10:42you know,
- 10:42we,
- 10:42we,
- 10:43you know,
- 10:43it,
- 10:43it is part of Americana,
- 10:44so I think it's
- 10:46important from that standard.
- 10:47I'm not a big Superman,
- 10:48uh,
- 10:49fan or a big superhero movie fan.
- 10:51Did like Superman 2,
- 10:53OK.
- 10:54And if you go back to watch the history of that one,
- 10:56it was kind of a catastrophe.
- 10:57I love movies like this.
- 10:58They started it with one director,
- 11:00it was so bad,
- 11:01they changed to another director.
- 11:02The second director was like,
- 11:03we should make this into a campy comedy.
- 11:06And so there's like weird campy,
- 11:08you know,
- 11:08comedy like we're the one I remember is when Superman's,
- 11:11you know,
- 11:11using his super breath,
- 11:13which I hope
- 11:14he had some sort of minty product that day,
- 11:16because honestly,
- 11:17like,
- 11:17I mean,
- 11:17if he had bad,
- 11:18if he had like,
- 11:19you know,
- 11:19went to like,
- 11:19I don't know,
- 11:20had Indian food or something and then was like.
- 11:23Uh,
- 11:23blowing everybody backwards,
- 11:25that would be really,
- 11:25really offensive.
- 11:27But
- 11:27at one point,
- 11:28like that's happening and like people are in the phone booth.
- 11:30The guy's on the phone booth and the phone booth falls over and he stays on the phone.
- 11:33Another one,
- 11:33like the lady's eating an ice cream or it could be a guy eating the ice cream cone,
- 11:37and it,
- 11:38the wind's coming so hard and it pushes the ice cream cone in his face,
- 11:40and it's like,
- 11:41is this a
- 11:42comedy?
- 11:42Like is this a slapstick?
- 11:44It's a hilarious movie if you go back and watch it,
- 11:45but this is the one.
- 11:46With General Zod,
- 11:48right,
- 11:48it's a group of three
- 11:49who were,
- 11:50by the way,
- 11:50also illegal immigrants,
- 11:52and I would say more centrally illegal aliens,
- 11:56OK,
- 11:56that's what they were.
- 11:57By the way,
- 11:58that's also what illegal immigrants are.
- 11:59They are illegal aliens.
- 12:01That is actually.
- 12:02what they are.
- 12:03Uh,
- 12:03that term has a legal meaning,
- 12:05and it is,
- 12:05uh,
- 12:06entrenched in our law and is a term we really shouldn't get rid of,
- 12:10frankly,
- 12:10but that's a whole another story.
- 12:12Now,
- 12:12Sean Davis,
- 12:13I think,
- 12:14I don't know if this theory is right,
- 12:16but I like it,
- 12:17and I will say,
- 12:18I watched the previews,
- 12:20uh,
- 12:20I watched the trailer of,
- 12:21of the Superman thing,
- 12:22and I gotta say it was kind of rooting for James Gunn at the beginning of this,
- 12:25because I do think he kind of got screwed years ago.
- 12:28Uh,
- 12:29in a way,
- 12:30um,
- 12:30by the cancel culture that was super active at that time,
- 12:34and,
- 12:34um,
- 12:35you know,
- 12:35and I,
- 12:35but I watched the trailer and I.
- 12:37Didn't look that good to me.
- 12:39You know,
- 12:39I,
- 12:40he's being rescued by a dog,
- 12:42and,
- 12:42and his dog's kind of pulling at him for like,
- 12:44uh,
- 12:45it seems like 4 minutes.
- 12:46I don't know.
- 12:46It didn't seem like a great trailer.
- 12:48Wasn't particularly excited for it.
- 12:49Uh,
- 12:50there's a couple of scenes that look pretty amazing with the CGI,
- 12:52of course,
- 12:53but
- 12:53I don't know,
- 12:54not that interesting to me.
- 12:55Sean Davis has a theory on this though,
- 12:56and I
- 12:57There's a chance this is true.
- 12:59Either way,
- 12:59I like the theory.
- 13:00Sean says the movie is terrible,
- 13:02test audiences hated it,
- 13:04and now they're running the Lady Ghostbusters marketing op,
- 13:07so they can blame bigotry for their movie tanking,
- 13:10instead of taking responsibility for making a garbage movie.
- 13:15Which I kinda like that.
- 13:16I kinda like that idea.
- 13:17It's,
- 13:17it's certainly possible.
- 13:18Now James Gunn was in the news years ago
- 13:21because of a controversy he had.
- 13:23Remember he did
- 13:24the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise.
- 13:26These were super successful movies.
- 13:27I will say I.
- 13:29I don't remember,
- 13:31again,
- 13:31I'm not a big superhero movie guy,
- 13:32but I did like the first Guardians of the Galaxy.
- 13:35I thought it was pretty funny and an engaging movie.
- 13:37And then I went to watch the second one and I thought it was terrible.
- 13:40So I don't know,
- 13:40maybe James Gunn didn't direct that one.
- 13:42I think he got control
- 13:44of the,
- 13:44or he got the gig back at some point,
- 13:46and they're gonna kill me.
- 13:47Every nerd in the studios right now.
- 13:49What?
- 13:50You're not getting any of the facts right
- 13:51about Guardians of the Galalaxy or Superman.
- 13:54I'm sorry.
- 13:54Um,
- 13:55I only,
- 13:55I can talk to you about the culture of this,
- 13:57but I can't,
- 13:57I can't go into the nerdistry
- 13:59of it all.
- 13:59But
- 14:00if you remember,
- 14:01back in 2018,
- 14:02he was canceled
- 14:04from Guardians of the Galaxy over offensive tweets that he had made,
- 14:07and
- 14:08You know,
- 14:09we talked about it at the time.
- 14:10I,
- 14:11uh,
- 14:11I like the idea of someone who can make incredibly offensive jokes.
- 14:16You know,
- 14:17I'm a fan of,
- 14:18you know,
- 14:18it's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
- 14:20And you know,
- 14:20Mr.
- 14:21Show
- 14:21and South Park,
- 14:23and you know,
- 14:23you can name any number of really dark comedies that I like,
- 14:27partially because I like the fact they'll just say the worst possible thing
- 14:31for that effect.
- 14:32It doesn't mean that they believe it,
- 14:34you know,
- 14:34like the,
- 14:35I think it's the first episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
- 14:39is an episode called uh The Gang Gets Racist.
- 14:43And
- 14:44it is
- 14:45racial humor throughout stuff that
- 14:47is really,
- 14:48really offensive today,
- 14:49but was really,
- 14:50really offensive back then.
- 14:51And it wasn't a point to make.
- 14:53The central point of it was not,
- 14:54hey,
- 14:55let's make racial jokes because we're really racist and we can get away with it.
- 14:59It was,
- 14:59no,
- 14:59to be critical
- 15:00of these hollow,
- 15:02awful characters
- 15:03who said racist things at times,
- 15:06and the point of it was that these people are awful,
- 15:08right?
- 15:09Um,
- 15:09at other times in the series' history,
- 15:11they have used blackface to effect,
- 15:13they have
- 15:14used offensive accents,
- 15:16and one of the most frustrating things honestly about the series was,
- 15:19they,
- 15:20uh,
- 15:20eventually launched a podcast going through each episode.
- 15:23And then we're up doing the typical thing that you'd
- 15:25expect from Hollywood types apologizing for the jokes they made.
- 15:29No one believed
- 15:31they actually were racist.
- 15:33No one believed that they were using blackface
- 15:36because they just like mocking African Americans.
- 15:38No,
- 15:38they were mocking these.
- 15:39Awful characters who would do these things.
- 15:42They were showing how hollow and pathetic they were.
- 15:45They were making a point
- 15:46through comedy.
- 15:47Now,
- 15:48that isn't necessarily the case with James Gunn's tweets exactly.
- 15:51It was,
- 15:51I,
- 15:51I think,
- 15:52more offensive for offensive's sake,
- 15:54but that should be,
- 15:54there should be room for that.
- 15:56Um,
- 15:56here's some of the stuff that he got fired for,
- 15:58by the way.
- 15:58Uh,
- 15:59Gunn was London a provocateur who had drawn ire in the past for his unusual humor,
- 16:03that's one way to put it.
- 16:05Among the tweets that forced Disney and Marvel's hand were,
- 16:08quote,
- 16:08when he said
- 16:09he liked little boys touching him in his silly place.
- 16:13Again,
- 16:13that did he really like that?
- 16:15No,
- 16:16he's making an offensive joke for the sake
- 16:20of being offensive,
- 16:21OK?
- 16:22He also said,
- 16:23and again I,
- 16:23I warn you content wise this is a really rough one,
- 16:26but this is what he said.
- 16:27He said the best,
- 16:29he said,
- 16:30um,
- 16:31he thought the best thing about being raped.
- 16:34Is when you're done being raped,
- 16:37and it's like,
- 16:38whew,
- 16:39this feels great
- 16:41not being raped.
- 16:42Now that's a
- 16:44terrible uh comment
- 16:45and doesn't really have
- 16:47the charm of the blackface point I was making.
- 16:51Uh,
- 16:52from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
- 16:53Again,
- 16:54all those people,
- 16:54all of them,
- 16:55including Gunn,
- 16:55are liberals,
- 16:56right?
- 16:56They,
- 16:57they were making comedic,
- 16:59uh,
- 17:00uh,
- 17:00points or just jokes
- 17:01to try to be as offensive as possible.
- 17:04Uh,
- 17:04you understand the irony behind the joke there,
- 17:07but Like,
- 17:08again,
- 17:08you could see why it was offensive.
- 17:09You could see why Disney did not want to be involved in this guy
- 17:13with this guy for
- 17:14a small period of time.
- 17:15Now,
- 17:16Gina Carano,
- 17:18who didn't make an offensive joke,
- 17:20who made a slight point about how we shouldn't repeat the Holocaust
- 17:25and then got fired for it,
- 17:26she's still persona non grata with Disney.
- 17:29Never got back into the Mandalorian,
- 17:31never got back into the Star Wars universe.
- 17:33The inconsistency here is jaw-dropping.
- 17:37But,
- 17:38again,
- 17:38I just don't want people canceled
- 17:40for stuff like this.
- 17:41I don't,
- 17:42I,
- 17:42you know what,
- 17:42I,
- 17:43I,
- 17:43I've come out with this,
- 17:44uh,
- 17:45opinion long ago and I stand by it,
- 17:47and it's a tough one to maintain at times,
- 17:49I will be honest with you,
- 17:50because sometimes people do tweet things that are so offensive and so horrible.
- 17:54We've went through a list of them earlier this week.
- 17:56We went through,
- 17:57um,
- 17:57you know,
- 17:58people who are mocking the floods,
- 18:00for example,
- 18:01and I come to the stand uh standpoint of you shouldn't lose your job over a tweet.
- 18:06I think I
- 18:07100% stand behind that,
- 18:08at least with words,
- 18:09right?
- 18:10I mean,
- 18:10I think
- 18:10probably if you tweeted yourself,
- 18:12uh,
- 18:13doing some of the things
- 18:14that James Gunn was
- 18:15referencing here,
- 18:16OK,
- 18:16maybe you shouldn't lose your job.
- 18:17But generally speaking,
- 18:18unless it's something illegal,
- 18:20your dumb joke,
- 18:21your dumb comment
- 18:22shouldn't cost you your job.
- 18:24You should stay off of Twitter so you don't,
- 18:26you don't,
- 18:26uh,
- 18:27ever risk
- 18:28that sort of thing.
- 18:28There's no real reason to do these things,
- 18:31um,
- 18:31and if you're thinking,
- 18:32gosh,
- 18:32this is a little edgy,
- 18:33should I tweet this?
- 18:34The answer is
- 18:35always no.
- 18:37100% of the time it's no.
- 18:39You will never get more benefit from a dumb tweet like that
- 18:42than you will,
- 18:43uh,
- 18:43than you will get from the possible
- 18:45punishment,
- 18:46uh,
- 18:47from tweeting it.
- 18:47So I would always say just skip it.
- 18:50Uh,
- 18:50Glenn Beck,
- 18:51uh,
- 18:51you may notice I'm,
- 18:52I'm at his ranch.
- 18:53He taught me long,
- 18:54long ago,
- 18:54when in doubt,
- 18:56leave it out.
- 18:57So I,
- 18:57I think that's an appropriate thing,
- 18:59but I wanna highlight
- 19:00maybe,
- 19:01uh,
- 19:01the fact that there aren't,
- 19:02uh,
- 19:03we haven't all gone insane.
- 19:04Not everyone's preaching to you about
- 19:05immigration policy through Star Wars movies.
- 19:08Let me give you,
- 19:09maybe this is the way you should handle it.
- 19:10This is Nathan Fillion,
- 19:11who is a guy I again.
- 19:14I don't know because he's,
- 19:15he's in,
- 19:15he has something to do with some superhero movies,
- 19:17so I don't know anything about it,
- 19:17but I love the way he handled it.
- 19:18He said,
- 19:19Nathan Phillip,
- 19:20uh,
- 19:20Fillion,
- 19:21who,
- 19:21uh,
- 19:21who play,
- 19:22uh,
- 19:22plays Guy Gardner,
- 19:23AKA Green Lantern,
- 19:25laughed off the negativity
- 19:26and kept his response brief.
- 19:28Uh,
- 19:29someone needs,
- 19:30somebody needs a hug.
- 19:31It's just a movie,
- 19:32guys.
- 19:34Yeah
- 19:35Now,
- 19:35I understand he's probably being like,
- 19:37don't get so upset.
- 19:39It's just a movie.
- 19:40You know,
- 19:40it's,
- 19:40I,
- 19:41I want it to be just a movie.
- 19:43Make it.
- 19:44Just the movie.
- 19:46Guess what doesn't happen to you when you make it just a movie.
- 19:49People don't get pissed.
- 19:50Your your $200 million movie doesn't make $40 million
- 19:53at the box office unless it just truly sucks.
- 19:55Now this movie might suck,
- 19:57might fail,
- 19:57might succeed regardless of the scandal.
- 19:59Superman might be one of those things that's big enough in America to kind of
- 20:03supersede,
- 20:04uh,
- 20:04for lack of a better term,
- 20:05uh,
- 20:06the controversy around this,
- 20:07where maybe Snow White doesn't have that power.
- 20:09The bottom line is,
- 20:11When you,
- 20:12when you're looking at a movie like this.
- 20:14This should be your attitude.
- 20:16Hey,
- 20:17we're making
- 20:18a movie.
- 20:19I said this with Dan Andros yesterday.
- 20:21When someone asks you a movie,
- 20:22Hey,
- 20:22is this about immigration?
- 20:24You know what?
- 20:25You could take from it what you like.
- 20:26Uh,
- 20:27you know,
- 20:27we always encourage people to,
- 20:29to,
- 20:29to enjoy a movie
- 20:30in the way that they feel is important.
- 20:32But the bottom line is we're making a movie for people to enjoy.
- 20:34We want you to have two hours where you can
- 20:36escape into a magical world where crazy things happen and,
- 20:39and,
- 20:40and,
- 20:40and,
- 20:40and American ideals are,
- 20:41are,
- 20:42are defended.
- 20:44If you wanna say in your own personal life,
- 20:45gosh,
- 20:46I think it's about immigration,
- 20:47you know,
- 20:47what are you gonna do?
- 20:48But you just say that,
- 20:49you say,
- 20:49I hope you enjoy the movie,
- 20:50Boys and Girls,
- 20:51and you walk off.
- 20:52That's what you need to do.
- 20:54It's just a movie,
- 20:55guys.
- 20:56Um,
- 20:56there are a lot of serious things going on in the world,
- 20:58and we go to movies to escape those serious things.
- 21:01We don't need them preaching to us.
- 21:02Let me tell you about one of the really serious things,
- 21:04uh,
- 21:04the Texas floods.
- 21:06We got Suzanne Grishman,
- 21:07she's got,
- 21:07uh,
- 21:08running Mercury One.
- 21:09She's
- 21:09talking to everybody who's doing the recovery efforts right now,
- 21:13and she's gonna tell us what it's like on the ground in Texas.
- 21:16She joins us next.
- 21:28A lot of people take fish oil supplements to feel better,
- 21:31right?
- 21:31They,
- 21:32they expect significant health improvements,
- 21:34and a lot of times,
- 21:35honestly,
- 21:36The results fall way short of that.
- 21:38Native path Antarctic krill oil offers a better alternative,
- 21:42instead of like doing the typical thing that happens all the time,
- 21:45you get the fish oil,
- 21:46hey,
- 21:46I want some omega threes,
- 21:48that's great,
- 21:48but
- 21:49each capital of the krill oil naturally contains a powerful antioxidant,
- 21:54and this is basically this is absent from your regular fish oil tablets,
- 21:58makes it a lot more.
- 21:59Uh,
- 22:00a lot more impressive.
- 22:01This provides noticeable health benefits,
- 22:04and,
- 22:04you know,
- 22:05consider these questions to yourself.
- 22:07You're taking fish oil.
- 22:08Has your cholesterol actually improved?
- 22:10Has your blood pressure actually improved?
- 22:12Are your joints actually feeling less stiff and painful?
- 22:15Has the swelling visibly decreased?
- 22:17If you're not confidently answering yes,
- 22:19then it might be time
- 22:21to try something better.
- 22:22Right now,
- 22:22Native Path has a special offer available up to 60%.

- 23:00So I'm up here in Idaho at uh Glenn's ranch,
- 23:03and,
- 23:04uh,
- 23:05you know,
- 23:05it's,
- 23:06it's a totally separate,
- 23:07we're in a totally different world here from,
- 23:09uh,
- 23:09from Texas.
- 23:10Texas,
- 23:11of course,
- 23:11going through
- 23:13a terrible tragedy right now.
- 23:15I want to bring in Suzanne Grishman.
- 23:16She's the executive director for Mercury One coming to us
- 23:20from much closer to our actual studios back in Texas.
- 23:23Suzanne,
- 23:23thanks so much for coming on the program.
- 23:25Thank you,
- 23:26Stu.
- 23:26Thanks so much for having me today.
- 23:28Yeah,
- 23:28I appreciate it.
- 23:29Um,
- 23:30I know you guys are all over this.
- 23:31Can you,
- 23:32before we get into the efforts that Mercury One is,
- 23:34is putting forward right now,
- 23:36can you kind of give us an update as,
- 23:38as to where this stands?
- 23:39I think everyone's been watching
- 23:41the flooding,
- 23:41you know,
- 23:42and horror and seeing these numbers get higher and higher and higher.
- 23:45Where are we right now with all this?
- 23:48Well,
- 23:48as of this morning reporting,
- 23:50there were 104 people that had been found that were dead.
- 23:54There are dozens of people that are still missing that they're trying to find.
- 23:59It is a search and a recovery effort at this point in time.
- 24:03And we've been on the ground since July 4th,
- 24:06the first day after the floodings happened in the middle of the night.
- 24:09Um,
- 24:10working with first responders,
- 24:11uh,
- 24:12it is
- 24:13a massive area.
- 24:14There's over 30 miles that they're using right now for search and rescue.
- 24:19Um,
- 24:20so we have been on the ground feeding people that
- 24:22are the first responders on the ground and the victims.
- 24:25Uh,
- 24:25we've been working through all the local churches
- 24:28to be able to support people with spiritual
- 24:31support,
- 24:32but it really is,
- 24:34um,
- 24:34it's a devastating flood and a devastating loss.
- 24:38I'm sure you've heard the numbers.
- 24:40They reached over 37 ft for floodwaters.
- 24:43This is a record
- 24:45for this area.
- 24:46And I think 26 ft
- 24:49plus happened within a 45 minute
- 24:52span of time that the waters rose.
- 24:55So this really is a catastrophe at a devastating level.
- 24:59Yeah,
- 25:00I know,
- 25:00it's,
- 25:00it's,
- 25:00it's interesting because you think about a situation like this,
- 25:03and I,
- 25:03you know,
- 25:03I get the,
- 25:04the,
- 25:04the flash flood alerts on my phone like every 10 minutes I feel like,
- 25:07and you know,
- 25:08I honestly,
- 25:08I,
- 25:09it's very rare that I put any thought into it.
- 25:11Now,
- 25:11of course,
- 25:11if you're in a camp,
- 25:13and you're in this area,
- 25:14you're gonna be thinking about this,
- 25:15uh,
- 25:15differently and certainly going forward they will,
- 25:18but this happens in the middle of the night,
- 25:19it happens when all these kids are asleep in their cabins,
- 25:24that,
- 25:24that stat that you just gave us.
- 25:25It's hard to understand how that's even possible.
- 25:2926 ft in 45 minutes,
- 25:31and you think of a flood coming down,
- 25:32OK,
- 25:33well,
- 25:33the second you feel,
- 25:34you know,
- 25:34there's some water that comes in and you're gonna know about it.
- 25:37Well,
- 25:38not at 3 o'clock,
- 25:384 o'clock in the morning,
- 25:39these people are asleep,
- 25:40they don't even know this is going on,
- 25:42and they have no idea that something like that is happening that quickly.
- 25:46Yeah.
- 25:47And if you remember,
- 25:48this camp had over 800 campers
- 25:50in it.
- 25:51So,
- 25:51I don't want to
- 25:54to minimize the amazing heroic efforts and the humanitarianism and
- 25:59the heroes of this story.
- 26:02There's devastation and loss,
- 26:04but we also have to be grateful
- 26:06and thankful that a lot of those campers made it out
- 26:10alive because of the heroic efforts of a lot of the counselors.
- 26:13The owner,
- 26:14um,
- 26:15and the founder of Camp Majestic
- 26:17passed away trying to rescue children,
- 26:19and he has been there since the beginning.
- 26:21And he,
- 26:22he gave his life
- 26:24for saving all those other children.
- 26:25So,
- 26:26I have seen the best
- 26:28of humanity and our job as Mercury One is to be on the ground,
- 26:32one of the first to restore the human spirit.
- 26:35That's what we will do.
- 26:35We will also be one of the last
- 26:38to be on the ground to help people in the communities rebuild.
- 26:42Yeah,
- 26:42talk about that part of it,
- 26:43uh,
- 26:43a little bit,
- 26:44Suzanne,
- 26:44because I know that's something that's been pretty
- 26:46consistent with Mercury One since the very beginning.
- 26:48A lot of times we have a tragedy where people
- 26:51understandably have an emotional reaction,
- 26:53you know,
- 26:54they'll send in money,
- 26:55they'll go and volunteer for that first week,
- 26:57and maybe the second week,
- 26:59and then,
- 26:59you know,
- 26:59people kind of start to fade away,
- 27:01they move on to a new story,
- 27:02they move on to another terrible event around the world,
- 27:05and,
- 27:05and the focus is lost on that.
- 27:07Mercury 11 of the focuses you,
- 27:09you guys have had for a while is to make sure that you're there for,
- 27:11for the long haul.
- 27:12Is that right?
- 27:13Yeah.
- 27:14So we want to be in the rebuilding efforts
- 27:16as well.
- 27:17We don't want to be in and out within a week in the media cycle.
- 27:20Uh,
- 27:20it's funny,
- 27:21our founder is a media personality,
- 27:23but
- 27:24we don't stay for the media cycle.
- 27:25We stay long term.
- 27:27And we are still in North Carolina building homes
- 27:29for a lot of people that lost their homes,
- 27:31and we will be there for quite some time as well,
- 27:34at least throughout the rest of this year
- 27:35and into next year.
- 27:36And we will be doing the same thing for the Hill Country.
- 27:39Right now,
- 27:40I want to encourage people
- 27:41not to go down there.
- 27:43If you want to volunteer,
- 27:44there's opportunities to do it online.
- 27:45One of our partners,
- 27:47Operation Barbecue Relief,
- 27:48they're online and on.
- 27:49Social media and they are accepting volunteers.
- 27:52There's very few people that they're letting into
- 27:54the search and recovery effort area and zone.
- 27:57There is a reason for that.
- 27:58There are people and loved ones
- 28:00that need to find,
- 28:01um,
- 28:02whatever is the remains
- 28:04of their loved ones.
- 28:05And there's debris that is piled up as high as 20 to 30 ft,
- 28:09very similar from North Carolina.
- 28:11So,
- 28:11it's very,
- 28:12Very dangerous.
- 28:13The best way to support right now
- 28:15is to support
- 28:16organizations that are on the ground that are working with FEMA,
- 28:19Coast Guard,
- 28:20first responders,
- 28:21firefighters,
- 28:22um,
- 28:23the Cajun Navy,
- 28:23I know is on the ground.
- 28:25We are on the ground 100% of dollars that go towards this effort for Mercury One,
- 28:30we will send it directly down to the Hill Country
- 28:33for the flood efforts.
- 28:35Uh,
- 28:35MercuryOne.org,
- 28:36by the way,
- 28:37MercuryOne.org.
- 28:38If you can,
- 28:38uh,
- 28:38donate,
- 28:39if you can help,
- 28:39if you have the ability,
- 28:41please do.
- 28:41Uh,
- 28:42100%,
- 28:43uh,
- 28:43and that's an interesting part of this,
- 28:44uh,
- 28:45that not every charity does by any means,
- 28:47uh,
- 28:47you know,
- 28:47you guys,
- 28:47I know,
- 28:48do the,
- 28:48the big event every year where you,
- 28:50uh,
- 28:50raise money to pay for the overhead for the organization,
- 28:53so that when you have a situation like this,
- 28:56where there's a flood,
- 28:57where there's a need,
- 28:58you can be assured that all of your money is going to that,
- 29:01uh,
- 29:01particular,
- 29:02uh,
- 29:02you know,
- 29:03tragedy,
- 29:03which is,
- 29:03uh,
- 29:04in this case,
- 29:05uh,
- 29:05the floods in Texas,
- 29:06but was also the floods in,
- 29:08in North Carolina.
- 29:10You know,
- 29:10have you noticed any difference of a response,
- 29:13uh,
- 29:13from,
- 29:14from,
- 29:14uh,
- 29:15the,
- 29:15the,
- 29:15uh,
- 29:16the situation from North Carolina last year and,
- 29:18and Texas this year,
- 29:20Suzanne?
- 29:21Uh,
- 29:21this is like night and day
- 29:23from North Carolina.
- 29:25There,
- 29:25there was no FEMA efforts,
- 29:27no administration efforts that were going in.
- 29:30Um,
- 29:30it was very difficult,
- 29:32um,
- 29:32to get people on the ground in North Carolina,
- 29:34which is one of the reasons why
- 29:36we were there.
- 29:37We were in helicopters,
- 29:38we were rescuing people,
- 29:39we were delivering water
- 29:40and aid.
- 29:41Texas is completely different.
- 29:43The state of Texas,
- 29:45this administration,
- 29:46FEMA,
- 29:47the Coast Guard,
- 29:48everybody has stepped in and within 24 hours
- 29:51they are.
- 29:52Coordinating,
- 29:52they are communicating.
- 29:54It is one of the most professional efforts
- 29:56in my 9.5 years here at Mercury One
- 29:59that I've ever seen for disaster relief.
- 30:02So I have to give my hats off to all the first responders,
- 30:05all the people in the administration.
- 30:07They are really,
- 30:07truly working together
- 30:09to do this as quickly and as fast as they can.
- 30:11The hope was to find people to recover them,
- 30:14um,
- 30:15but at this point in time,
- 30:16I think they're just hoping to go in and give some loved ones closure.
- 30:20Mm,
- 30:20no,
- 30:20I bet that's an incredible,
- 30:21that's an incredible statement though,
- 30:23that's the first I've heard that,
- 30:24um,
- 30:24you know,
- 30:25I've watched a lot of media reporting on this.
- 30:27No one's,
- 30:27uh,
- 30:28no one's talked about that aspect,
- 30:29I guess I shouldn't be all that surprised
- 30:31over that,
- 30:31but that's really good to hear that at least we're responding,
- 30:35the right way.
- 30:36Uh,
- 30:36Suzanne,
- 30:36what are you hearing from the organizations that you're working with,
- 30:40when they're talking to the people that have survived this?
- 30:42Uh,
- 30:43you know,
- 30:43we've seen some videos.
- 30:45of,
- 30:45you know,
- 30:46people praising God as they're leaving the camp.
- 30:48I mean there's been some really harrowing videos like that.
- 30:51How are people taking it?
- 30:52Is there an,
- 30:53is there an anger that this has happened?
- 30:55Is there,
- 30:56um,
- 30:57is there a,
- 30:58you know,
- 30:59an approach of,
- 31:00of,
- 31:00of just solemn grief?
- 31:02What,
- 31:02what,
- 31:02what are you hearing from people?
- 31:04Well,
- 31:05so,
- 31:05as you know,
- 31:06we're in Dallas area.
- 31:08There are a lot of families here that have lost their daughters
- 31:11and their loved ones that were either camping or at the actual camp
- 31:15that was hit.
- 31:16So,
- 31:17I'm hearing a lot of people who are in grief and mourning,
- 31:20but I'm also hearing
- 31:22that they are amazingly grateful that so many other
- 31:25campers,
- 31:26um,
- 31:26little girls that they were saved.
- 31:29So,
- 31:29it's,
- 31:30it's a cross,
- 31:30but you have to remember as well,
- 31:32this camp that was really hit devastatingly was a Christian camp.
- 31:36So,
- 31:36these girls were singing Christian songs and music as they were
- 31:40leaving the area and praying for everyone that was
- 31:42there to hope that they could all get out.
- 31:44So,
- 31:45it's,
- 31:45it's going to be post-traumatic stress for
- 31:48anyone that's gone through this horrific flood.
- 31:50Uh,
- 31:50that is something that we will deal with as well
- 31:52and we'll be on the ground with Christian spiritual counselors,
- 31:56uh,
- 31:56to be able to assist people in the community.
- 31:58But this is going to be devastating to people that went through this.
- 32:01Again,
- 32:02it was such an unbelievable,
- 32:04tragic,
- 32:05um,
- 32:06flooding at such a rapid level.
- 32:08It was hard to fathom what was actually going on.
- 32:11And it was in the middle of the night as well.
- 32:14So,
- 32:14it's,
- 32:14it's going to be a lot of recovery,
- 32:16not only for the families that lost loved ones,
- 32:18but a lot of the people that went through.
- 32:20The tragedy.
- 32:21So,
- 32:22um,
- 32:22just everyone please pray.
- 32:24I know,
- 32:24Stu,
- 32:25you have an amazing audience.
- 32:27I want to thank your audience.
- 32:29I want to thank all the donors who've supported Mercury One
- 32:32over the years.
- 32:33Uh,
- 32:33Glenn's vision
- 32:34of being able to support during times of disaster.
- 32:37I truly believe we are the hands and feet of God on the ground
- 32:41with all these first responders.
- 32:42Responders,
- 32:43and I believe it's because of your donors
- 32:45and your audience.
- 32:46They are making a difference
- 32:48in this situation and all the disasters that we've ever responded to.
- 32:52So we could do none of this without your donors.
- 32:54Just
- 32:55want to say thank you from the bottom of our heart and please keep all of these people
- 32:59in your prayers and all these families that
- 33:01are still waiting to find their loved ones
- 33:03that are missing.
- 33:04They just
- 33:05would like closure and be able,
- 33:06um,
- 33:07to,
- 33:07to bury them with some dignity,
- 33:10and we will keep supporting families.
- 33:12We're paying for some funeral costs,
- 33:14um,
- 33:14for some families that can't afford it.
- 33:16We're also going to be there to help people rebuild in the community.
- 33:20So
- 33:21yeah,
- 33:21and I,
- 33:21I can't help but echo exactly what you're saying about the audience that,
- 33:24you know,
- 33:25this,
- 33:25whether it's this audience here,
- 33:27uh,
- 33:27Glenn's TV show,
- 33:28Glenn's radio show,
- 33:29the podcast,
- 33:29like,
- 33:31just the most amazing collection of people that I can ever imagine.
- 33:35I mean,
- 33:35I,
- 33:36that's all the good that has been done by this group of people who,
- 33:39you know,
- 33:39almost exclusively to people they don't know
- 33:42and will never meet,
- 33:44um,
- 33:44it is absolutely amazing.
- 33:45Of course,
- 33:46Mercury One is certainly the,
- 33:47uh,
- 33:48the,
- 33:48the,
- 33:49the tip of the spear there as well,
- 33:50uh,
- 33:51out in front doing all of this.
- 33:52Um,
- 33:53before you go,
- 33:54Suzanne,
- 33:54what's the best way for people to help?
- 33:55Obviously donations would be very helpful.
- 33:58Um,
- 33:58uh,
- 33:58you know,
- 33:59what's the best thing for people to do,
- 34:01cause I feel,
- 34:01I feel like people see all this,
- 34:03they wanna do something for these families,
- 34:05they,
- 34:05they just feel helpless.
- 34:07Absolutely.
- 34:08The best thing to do right now to help is to donate funds.
- 34:12Uh,
- 34:12please do not go down
- 34:14and try to volunteer.
- 34:15Our first responders are overwhelmed,
- 34:17um,
- 34:18at what they're finding,
- 34:19what they're doing,
- 34:20and they really do need the space to be able to do it.
- 34:22The best way is to donate to Mercury One
- 34:25at mercuryOne.org or another charity of your choice.
- 34:28We always know that people have other charities we would love to be able to support.
- 34:33Um,
- 34:33with your efforts,
- 34:34but whatever you feel God is calling you to do,
- 34:36and most importantly,
- 34:38please pray.
- 34:39Um,
- 34:39and if you have prayer requests,
- 34:41uh,
- 34:41please go to MercuryOne.org as well,
- 34:43uh,
- 34:44for our questions accounts and let us know.
- 34:46Our staff prays every day in the morning with devotional,
- 34:49and we will pray for anyone you know personally
- 34:52that's been affected by this tragedy.
- 34:54So,
- 34:54thank you so much for your support
- 34:56and thanks for having me on.
- 34:59Yeah,
- 34:59Suzanne Grishman,
- 34:59thank you so much.
- 35:00Executive director for Mercury One,
- 35:01they're doing incredible work,
- 35:03I mean all over the place,
- 35:04but
- 35:04Particularly with these,
- 35:05uh,
- 35:06with the situation in Texas and all of the flooding.
- 35:08If you go to Mercuryone.org,
- 35:10you can donate today.
- 35:10100% of your donation will go to
- 35:13the Texas flood situation,
- 35:15and,
- 35:15uh,
- 35:16you know,
- 35:16I,
- 35:16I know so many people
- 35:18wanna help,
- 35:18they wanna do something.
- 35:20This is something you can do,
- 35:20that's material that can really make a difference for the people
- 35:23going through all this.
- 35:24Suzanne Grishman,
- 35:25thank you so much for coming on
- 35:27again,
- 35:27and it's mercuryone.org to,
- 35:28to donate today.
- 35:29Suzanne,
- 35:30thank you.
- 35:31Thanks,
- 35:31too.
- 35:41We were just talking about the Texas floods and you know,
- 35:43the,
- 35:44the media is gonna do what the media does.
- 35:45I don't know know why sometimes I get myself involved in this,
- 35:48but,
- 35:49uh,
- 35:50let me give you another example of them doing a,
- 35:52just a crack up effort,
- 35:54uh,
- 35:54when it comes to coverage.
- 35:56Uh,
- 35:56Esquire has given you this one.
- 35:58How many disasters must happen in Texas before Greg Abbott
- 36:03Stops denying climate change.
- 36:05Now,
- 36:05a lot of people don't realize this,
- 36:06but the reason we have bad weather is because
- 36:09Greg Abbott denies climate change.
- 36:12Um,
- 36:13because this one guy in one state who's been governor for a few years in that state
- 36:19is responsible for,
- 36:21I mean it's so utterly stupid.
- 36:23First of all,
- 36:24nothing that Greg,
- 36:25Greg Abbott can do can affect climate change either way.
- 36:28Nothing that he does.
- 36:30Whether it's,
- 36:30uh,
- 36:31you know,
- 36:31denying it,
- 36:32and,
- 36:33and doing,
- 36:34making no effort.
- 36:34By the way,
- 36:35I should point out too,
- 36:37Texas is like the world leader in wind power.
- 36:41Like
- 36:42this is
- 36:42go all over the state,
- 36:43there are windmills everywhere,
- 36:45they're all over the place in Texas,
- 36:47it's,
- 36:47I mean,
- 36:48you know,
- 36:49not to mention,
- 36:50it also the home of the Gigafactory for Tesla's electric cars.
- 36:56But again,
- 36:57even that is never gonna be enough,
- 36:58and you're never gonna be able to please these people.
- 36:59It's really not about
- 37:01the emissions,
- 37:02it's about the sort of
- 37:03religious adherence
- 37:05to,
- 37:06uh,
- 37:07whatever the left says you're supposed to do.
- 37:09So,
- 37:09Greg Abbott,
- 37:10thank you so much,
- 37:11I'm sure responsible.
- 37:11By the way,
- 37:12him changing his position on climate change would do absolutely nothing
- 37:15to affect the lives of the,
- 37:17of the dead children you're dancing on right now.
- 37:19So,
- 37:20be proud of yourself,
- 37:21Esquire,
- 37:22as if anyone.
- 37:23Uh,
- 37:23knew you existed before 5 minutes ago,
- 37:25uh,
- 37:26still.
- 37:26Um,
- 37:27the TSA has a big announcement,
- 37:29they're going to let travelers keep their shoes on,
- 37:32ending a very much hated rule.
- 37:34This comes from
- 37:35one of the most bizarre,
- 37:37uh,
- 37:37stories,
- 37:37really,
- 37:38you know,
- 37:38you think about,
- 37:39at the time it seemed to make sense,
- 37:41basically there was a shoe bomber,
- 37:43Richard Reid was his name,
- 37:44um,
- 37:45and,
- 37:45um,
- 37:46It was a situation where he tried,
- 37:48he had a bomb in his shoes and
- 37:51he tried to light them on fire and and was going to blow up the plane,
- 37:54did not succeed as a terrorist attack,
- 37:56but
- 37:57this law kind of came into effect because of it,
- 37:59and we've been taking our shoes off at the airport ever since,
- 38:02and I don't know that we've really prevented any other attacks,
- 38:05but we've all been doing it,
- 38:06unless you had TSA PRI,
- 38:07which is one of the main reasons you get it.
- 38:09Uh,
- 38:09but now they're gonna say,
- 38:10hey,
- 38:10you don't have to do that anymore,
- 38:11this is kind of silly,
- 38:12not really making,
- 38:12uh,
- 38:13sense.
- 38:14And of course they're,
- 38:14they're still scanning,
- 38:15your shoes
- 38:16are still scanned,
- 38:17like when you're going through the same way
- 38:20they are,
- 38:20you know,
- 38:20other parts of your body are.
- 38:22There's also an underwear bomber,
- 38:24uh,
- 38:24for a time.
- 38:24Luckily they didn't make you take off your underwear
- 38:26after that,
- 38:27so that's positive.
- 38:29But congratulations,
- 38:30if you're flying anywhere,
- 38:31very soon,
- 38:31you will not have to take your shoes off,
- 38:34uh,
- 38:35anymore.
- 38:35And,
- 38:35uh,
- 38:35one more story I wanted to bring to you here today,
- 38:38California not going to comply with the Trump demand for state
- 38:42to ban trans athletes.
- 38:45Um,
- 38:46Maine's governor told President Trump earlier this year,
- 38:48we'll see you in court,
- 38:49in response to his directive to ban transgender girls
- 38:52from competing on girls' sports teams.
- 38:55Um,
- 38:55now again,
- 38:55they're not transgender girls,
- 38:57they're boys.
- 38:58When you hear transgender girls,
- 39:00what that means is boy.
- 39:02OK,
- 39:02it might be a boy who's confused,
- 39:03it might be a boy going through a tough time,
- 39:05might be a boy that you want to,
- 39:06uh,
- 39:07you want to have empathy for,
- 39:09because they're,
- 39:10the situation they're going through is one that I can't even imagine,
- 39:13but what they are not,
- 39:15are girls,
- 39:16uh,
- 39:16and I will say this as well,
- 39:18and you know,
- 39:18again,
- 39:18there's a lot of,
- 39:19uh,
- 39:20people that I'm sure have the,
- 39:21the,
- 39:21the,
- 39:21the best hearts in the world and are just going through a really difficult time,
- 39:24and I can't imagine having to deal with such a thing.
- 39:27That being said,
- 39:28that is not a reason
- 39:29to take the 1st placed girl and move her 12 seconds behind the record,
- 39:34uh,
- 39:35that the new boy just set in whatever sport it is.
- 39:38It's not fair.
- 39:39It's not fair to the girls who work really,
- 39:40really hard to get to that place,
- 39:42um,
- 39:43and you know,
- 39:43it's not fair,
- 39:44uh,
- 39:45to really anybody involved in the situation.
- 39:47It's also not fair to you and I who are asked to
- 39:50kind of take this,
- 39:51um,
- 39:53This,
- 39:53uh,
- 39:54sort of
- 39:55alternate world that doesn't actually exist and embrace it as true.
- 39:59You know,
- 40:00you know,
- 40:00one of the things people talked about all the time,
- 40:01well,
- 40:01like,
- 40:02wait a minute,
- 40:02the gay marriage thing,
- 40:03that started off as something that,
- 40:04you know,
- 40:05Uh,
- 40:05conservatives didn't,
- 40:06you know,
- 40:06weren't weren't approving of,
- 40:07and then it wound up in polls,
- 40:10it shows there's more approval of that than there was back in the day,
- 40:13and
- 40:13why isn't the same thing happen with trans issues?
- 40:16One of the reasons for that is,
- 40:18the appeal to people on gay marriage was like,
- 40:20hey,
- 40:20like let them do what they want and it's outside of your world.
- 40:23And like you can argue whether that's the right thing to do or not,
- 40:26you can argue whether it affects the culture and go on and on and on,
- 40:29but what it didn't ask you to do
- 40:31was to embrace something that was false,
- 40:33right?
- 40:35Like,
- 40:36Gay,
- 40:37you know,
- 40:37gay marriage,
- 40:39whether you approve of it or not,
- 40:41is a situation where people are actually gay.
- 40:44Dudes who like dudes,
- 40:46chicks who like chicks,
- 40:47that's actually happening.
- 40:48Saying a guy is a girl,
- 40:50it's not actually happening.
- 40:52You're asking everybody else in society to embrace
- 40:56a falsehood,
- 40:57and that's,
- 40:58uh,
- 40:58it's just a step too far,
- 40:59I think for the American people.
- 41:00Back in a second.
- 41:12Whether you're moving across town,
- 41:14across the country,
- 41:15a little advice for you,
- 41:16don't just Google real estate agent near me,
- 41:19and hope for the best,
- 41:20because that's how you end up with someone who sells
- 41:223 houses a year and drives Uber in between showings.
- 41:25It also it's
- 41:26basically a way to just land on the person who spent the most to get your attention.
- 41:30You don't need to do that.
- 41:31You want someone who's been screened.
- 41:32Uh,
- 41:32Glenn learned this lesson the hard way after moving
- 41:35too many times and dealing with too many duds.
- 41:37So he built a service to fix it,
- 41:38it's called Real Estate Agents ITrust.com.
- 41:40agents that know what they're doing,
- 41:42they are experienced,
- 41:43they're fully vetted,
- 41:44and most importantly,
- 41:45they care about the outcome.
- 41:47They're not part-timers,
- 41:48they're not kind of people that,
- 41:49you know,
- 41:50Uh,
- 41:50who fail over and over again.
- 41:52These are people that Glenn would hire himself,
- 41:54and,
- 41:54and yes,
- 41:55that really does matter.
- 41:56They went through a real process and that's important.
- 41:58So whether you're buying or selling or upsizing or downsizing,
- 42:01whatever you're trying to do with a real estate agent,
- 42:03real estate agents ITrust.com is the place to go to find the best place for you.

- 42:35and again,
- 42:35in a joking way,
- 42:37he posted a picture of himself,
- 42:38said,

- 42:40I'm blowing somebody up today
- 42:42with a bunch of fireworks,
- 42:43and you know,

- 42:46you know,
- 42:46rapper 4 Extra,
- 42:47he loves America,
- 42:48um.
- 42:50Minor addendum to the story,
- 42:52about a few hours later,
- 42:55they posted
- 42:56an update.
- 42:57Um,
- 42:58he had apparently
- 43:01Blown off his hand.
- 43:05Not good,
- 43:06not good,
- 43:07uh.
- 43:08The
- 43:10Uh,

- 43:12the,
- 43:12his podcast that he's on said he had reportedly blown off his hand with
- 43:16one of the fireworks that he had shown you earlier on the day.
- 43:19They said,
- 43:20did clarify,
- 43:20he said he only lost a couple of fingers,
- 43:22um,
- 43:22but they are,
- 43:23they do have a GoFundMe going for him,
- 43:25uh,
- 43:25and he's
- 43:26part of the way to his goal,
- 43:27but not quite all the way there yet.
- 43:29I don't,
- 43:29I don't even understand this,
- 43:30how,
- 43:31uh,
- 43:314 Extras fans wouldn't support him,
- 43:33but
- 43:34we wish him the best.
- 43:34It's a sad story.
