- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Benn and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with i R Radio. Very exciting, guys. We have Michelle
- 0:08Speaker 1: and Nate on the podcast today. I'm going to try
- 0:12Speaker 1: to fill in all the questions that you didn't get
- 0:15Speaker 1: answers to on after the final rows. Uh. They are
- 0:19Speaker 1: a busy couple today. It's going to be interview after
- 0:22Speaker 1: interview after interview, So I hope that I'm able to
- 0:24Speaker 1: ask them some questions that they haven't been answering all
- 0:29Speaker 1: morning long. Already. All right, hey guys, I'm so glad
- 0:34Speaker 1: to have you guys here. Um, let's let's get the
- 0:37Speaker 1: worst question over with. It has to be hard to
- 0:41Speaker 1: hear her say I love you to somebody else, truly,
- 0:45Speaker 1: How did it feel seeing that? And how long did
- 0:49Speaker 1: it take to get over? Yeah? No, so that was
- 0:52Speaker 1: one of you know, that was just then early on
- 0:54Speaker 1: conversation after the engagement. UM. I think we actually had
- 0:57Speaker 1: that conversation while we were still in Mexico because he said,
- 0:59Speaker 1: Max go for for a few days after. UM, so
- 1:02Speaker 1: you know, like I was privy to it pretty early on. UM,
- 1:05Speaker 1: and you know, we've definitely had conversations about it, but realistically,
- 1:08Speaker 1: like something that like that we've talked about is like,
- 1:12Speaker 1: you know, and this is definitely my perspective of it all,
- 1:14Speaker 1: is like we all know what we signed up for,
- 1:16Speaker 1: and we all know that this is not the normal
- 1:19Speaker 1: environment of how to meet somebody and and and and
- 1:23Speaker 1: fall in love and all of that. Like there's there's
- 1:24Speaker 1: thirty guys and one girl. So I think in in
- 1:27Speaker 1: the you know, in the in the in the normal
- 1:31Speaker 1: like you know, in this environment, things like this can happen, right,
- 1:35Speaker 1: Like You're like, you're in an environment where you can
- 1:37Speaker 1: catch you can seriously fall in love, um with with
- 1:41Speaker 1: multiple people. Some people fall in love with multiple people,
- 1:44Speaker 1: some people fall in love with one person. Some people
- 1:45Speaker 1: just simply don't fall in love. Right. But it's a
- 1:47Speaker 1: unique environment where things like this can happen. Um would
- 1:50Speaker 1: happened in in you know, the real world or whatever.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Um probably not right, but um, you know, so that's
- 1:56Speaker 1: something you know, we were in this environment, it happened.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Now we're not in that environment. It's just you and I.
- 2:01Speaker 1: I guess the world. No, I gotta wake up the
- 2:03Speaker 1: next Michelle for the rest of my life. So you know,
- 2:06Speaker 1: it was just it was just nice that we could
- 2:07Speaker 1: have those conversations so early on, Like, I definitely was
- 2:09Speaker 1: not blindsided. You know, I knew about this back in
- 2:12Speaker 1: September September, so you know, Um, it's it's it's unique.
- 2:17Speaker 1: But hey, at the end of the day, Um, how
- 2:20Speaker 1: how upset can you really be? Or how like I
- 2:23Speaker 1: guess hurt, can you really be? Right? It is what
- 2:25Speaker 1: it is. You guys are part of a string of
- 2:29Speaker 1: bachelor couples who you know ended up together after the
- 2:33Speaker 1: final the first impression Rose was given. So does this
- 2:38Speaker 1: make you believe more in love at first sight? And also,
- 2:42Speaker 1: like Michelle, did you just constantly since night one have
- 2:46Speaker 1: this It's Nate, It's Nate, It's Nate, like blaring in
- 2:48Speaker 1: your head. I we've talked about this. Actually we don't
- 2:54Speaker 1: really believe in love at first sight, just because for
- 2:58Speaker 1: me and you as I'll just the whole having conversations
- 3:03Speaker 1: and getting to know somebody for who they are and
- 3:05Speaker 1: like the intellectual sides and all these different things, like
- 3:08Speaker 1: that's something that's incredibly important to me and that takes
- 3:11Speaker 1: time to learn that And so now didn't Nate catch
- 3:15Speaker 1: my attention the moment he stepped out of the limo, Yeah,
- 3:18Speaker 1: you know, and and as we're having conversations, like my
- 3:23Speaker 1: mind was like, oh, Nate, Nate, Like I wonder what
- 3:25Speaker 1: needs doing? I wonder you know what I mean? Like
- 3:27Speaker 1: he definitely was in the forefront of my mind a lot,
- 3:30Speaker 1: um but in a way where I just wanted to
- 3:33Speaker 1: continue to spend more time with him and get to
- 3:35Speaker 1: know him more because of those feelings that I was
- 3:38Speaker 1: starting to build. So watching the finale and you saying
- 3:41Speaker 1: you know, I love you to Brandon, at what point
- 3:46Speaker 1: did you know you were going to choose Nate? Um? I.
- 3:52Speaker 1: I had a really good conversation with Tasha, but a
- 3:56Speaker 1: tough conversation with Tasha about this whole situation where I
- 3:59Speaker 1: kind of broke down, you know, me being uncomfortable with
- 4:03Speaker 1: saying I love you to two different people because I
- 4:06Speaker 1: came into this thinking how could you be in love
- 4:08Speaker 1: with two different people? Like how could you split your
- 4:10Speaker 1: heart in half? But when you put yourself in this
- 4:13Speaker 1: type of situation, it is a very realistic thing to
- 4:16Speaker 1: happen if you are all in. And that's kind of
- 4:20Speaker 1: what I talked to her about of you know, if
- 4:24Speaker 1: I'm feeling these things and I've asked these men to
- 4:27Speaker 1: put all of their feelings out on the table. Um,
- 4:30Speaker 1: I supposed to hold my back. Now, if I had
- 4:33Speaker 1: known at that time that it was for sure, Nate,
- 4:36Speaker 1: I wouldn't have you know, communicated those things. Um, But
- 4:40Speaker 1: because I really did challenge myself to stay open to
- 4:42Speaker 1: the very last minute. Because you know, as you know,
- 4:45Speaker 1: one conversation in a situation like this where it's like
- 4:48Speaker 1: a high pressure cooker, one conversation can change a lot,
- 4:51Speaker 1: because you do learn a lot about somebody. One day
- 4:53Speaker 1: could change something. And so you know, I really wanted
- 4:57Speaker 1: to make sure I was putting all of my thoughts
- 4:59Speaker 1: and feelings out there, um, if I was truly feeling those,
- 5:02Speaker 1: and then I stayed open to the very last minute
- 5:06Speaker 1: so that I can make the best decision where I
- 5:09Speaker 1: would you know, I know for sure, and I have
- 5:11Speaker 1: that clarity because I put everything out on the line
- 5:15Speaker 1: in both relationships. Not your parents, We know that they
- 5:18Speaker 1: had a little bit of a Brandon had a heads
- 5:22Speaker 1: up there a little bit. He got to meet them
- 5:24Speaker 1: when you were in Minnesota, and then you know, your
- 5:27Speaker 1: mom said that he came across warmer at first. But
- 5:30Speaker 1: now we know, because after the final rose, that both
- 5:33Speaker 1: your families are obsessed with each other now, which is great.
- 5:37Speaker 1: But Michelle, how did your parents react when they found
- 5:40Speaker 1: out that you were engaged to Nate. Was there a
- 5:42Speaker 1: moment where they were like, oh, okay, now now we
- 5:46Speaker 1: totally see that you've made the right decision for yourself. Um.
- 5:50Speaker 1: They just my parents are so supportive, and you know,
- 5:56Speaker 1: I really was open with them with where I was
- 5:58Speaker 1: at and how is feeling in both relationships. And one
- 6:02Speaker 1: thing that my parents have always done is that they
- 6:05Speaker 1: support me on And so you know, my mom and
- 6:08Speaker 1: Brandon had a conversation, and my mom and Nate had
- 6:11Speaker 1: a conversation. And you know, it may seem to the
- 6:14Speaker 1: public like that those conversations, you know, um went differently
- 6:19Speaker 1: and they did to a certain extent. But for me
- 6:21Speaker 1: and my family, we like to make sure that we
- 6:24Speaker 1: can talk through things and navigate through things. And so, um,
- 6:28Speaker 1: that's exactly what Nate and my mom did. And it
- 6:30Speaker 1: didn't start off on this you know, necessarily positive, you know, foot,
- 6:35Speaker 1: But what Nate really showed my mom is that, you know,
- 6:38Speaker 1: when she expressed her concerns, he was able to have
- 6:41Speaker 1: that conversation and work through those and he didn't back
- 6:43Speaker 1: away from that and at the end of that day,
- 6:46Speaker 1: I did receive confirmation from both my parents that they
- 6:50Speaker 1: would support me with whatever decision I made. And so
- 6:53Speaker 1: what I got to call them and they found out
- 6:55Speaker 1: was Nate. My mom said, Okay, I knew it, and
- 6:59Speaker 1: she was so excited and um, yes, and I haven't
- 7:02Speaker 1: looked back since. So they've been They've been awesome, Nate.
- 7:05Speaker 1: I was kind of similar to you. I didn't really
- 7:08Speaker 1: have much real serious relationship experience going into the show,
- 7:12Speaker 1: and then I ended up marrying Jared, who was really
- 7:15Speaker 1: my first serious relationship, the only person I ever exchanged
- 7:18Speaker 1: I Love you with in my life. And going up
- 7:22Speaker 1: to that point, I was like, what's it gonna be
- 7:24Speaker 1: like to like have a boyfriend and like to be
- 7:27Speaker 1: in love? Like are we going to run out of
- 7:28Speaker 1: things to talk about? How is this going to evolve?
- 7:31Speaker 1: In this being like you're kind of first like real
- 7:34Speaker 1: serious committed relationship. First I love you is like, how
- 7:38Speaker 1: has that been for you? Has it been as natural
- 7:41Speaker 1: as like people have made it seem? Oh? Yeah, Like
- 7:45Speaker 1: that's that's one thing that you know, if we want
- 7:48Speaker 1: to talk about like our relationship, sum it up like natural,
- 7:53Speaker 1: like it just comfortable natural. Um, we are just you know,
- 7:58Speaker 1: like two peas in a pod, you know what I mean.
- 8:00Speaker 1: And it's it's amazing. It's amazing, so you know, it's
- 8:03Speaker 1: it's smooth sailing. Um, it's just it really is something beautiful, right.
- 8:07Speaker 1: So and side note, I do really relate to what
- 8:10Speaker 1: you were saying about a favorite song during after the
- 8:12Speaker 1: final YEA because I don't know, it's hard to explain
- 8:17Speaker 1: things sometimes, you know, if I'm glad that somebody kind
- 8:19Speaker 1: of good knew what I was talking about. Oh my gosh.
- 8:21Speaker 1: There have been albums where I listened to it the
- 8:23Speaker 1: first time and I'm like, oh man, that's my favorite artist.
- 8:26Speaker 1: But they just came out with an album and I
- 8:29Speaker 1: don't think I like it after the first run through,
- 8:31Speaker 1: and then I let's do it again and again and
- 8:32Speaker 1: it becomes my favorite album. Um. So I totally totally
- 8:36Speaker 1: understand what you're saying. Um, the storyline of you being
- 8:40Speaker 1: reserved and like not having experience and not being comfortable
- 8:44Speaker 1: expressing yourself, do you think that was like overdone? Michelle?
- 8:48Speaker 1: Was that's something that you were focused on throughout or
- 8:51Speaker 1: was that something that was focused on most for TV? Sic?
- 8:55Speaker 1: I think that this environment we It's like it's like
- 9:02Speaker 1: a Catch twenty two kind of situation where you know,
- 9:07Speaker 1: you do you're watching, you're hoping as if you were
- 9:09Speaker 1: to watch all these love stories unfold, and like you
- 9:12Speaker 1: want these incredibly romantic, perfect love stories and that can happen.
- 9:18Speaker 1: But also at the same time, it's like, if you
- 9:21Speaker 1: get real people in this situation, we are not gonna like,
- 9:24Speaker 1: we are not going to look like we have it together.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Because you know, Nate hasn't been in a situation where
- 9:30Speaker 1: he's talked about emotions. His family has talked about emotions.
- 9:33Speaker 1: He said those I love using those different things, and
- 9:35Speaker 1: so not only is he doing that for the first time,
- 9:38Speaker 1: but now he's doing that for the first time in
- 9:39Speaker 1: front of cameras and producers in this whole situation. So
- 9:43Speaker 1: this man's learning curve was incredibly steep, and you know,
- 9:47Speaker 1: he being reserved and trying to navigate that situation while
- 9:52Speaker 1: also trying to make sure he's remaining true to himself
- 9:55Speaker 1: while also challenging himself to be vulnerable. For me, was
- 9:59Speaker 1: just all these different things that he was balancing. And
- 10:02Speaker 1: you know, if if he comes off more reserved, it
- 10:05Speaker 1: is it's a quick process and you know if that
- 10:08Speaker 1: can play off as however it did it for me.
- 10:11Speaker 1: It was not like it was his character that was
- 10:14Speaker 1: in question. It was like, Okay, this man has some
- 10:17Speaker 1: walls up, Like let's talk about marriage on our second date, right,
- 10:21Speaker 1: like like understandable, you know what I mean? Like it's
- 10:25Speaker 1: just like let's take a step back and actually, like
- 10:27Speaker 1: if you look at these things on paper, Like it
- 10:29Speaker 1: was really truly amazing that he was able to learn
- 10:32Speaker 1: that quickly put his feelings out there, even in this
- 10:35Speaker 1: chaotic environment where there's other people and all these different factors,
- 10:39Speaker 1: and you truly are seeing a human navigate love and
- 10:44Speaker 1: what's not what's not beautiful about that? So I love
- 10:47Speaker 1: that answer? Uh down payment on the house? Like wow,
- 10:52Speaker 1: was that just the biggest kind of gift? Was that?
- 10:57Speaker 1: That's incredible? Like I I feel like you guys are
- 11:01Speaker 1: the first couple to have gotten like a gift of
- 11:04Speaker 1: that size during the finale. Yeah, I was not expecting that.
- 11:09Speaker 1: What we were not expecting that whatsoever you can see
- 11:11Speaker 1: it on our faces still is not sunk in at all. Um.
- 11:16Speaker 1: I was even nervous, like lifting the check out of
- 11:19Speaker 1: the box, I'm like, is this the real thing like
- 11:21Speaker 1: I got I sing on it. What do I do?
- 11:24Speaker 1: You know? But we were just really really just so
- 11:29Speaker 1: grateful for that, because I mean I mean, yeah, wow,
- 11:36Speaker 1: what like how can you say? Words cannot describe how
- 11:38Speaker 1: we feel in our appreciation for that. Um that that's awesome, good,
- 11:44Speaker 1: good for you guys. I am a little jealous to
- 11:51Speaker 1: the housewarming party though. Okay, so, um, Clayton, like he
- 11:57Speaker 1: has gotten a lot of negativity round his him being
- 12:02Speaker 1: the choice of Bachelor Nate as somebody who has lived
- 12:06Speaker 1: in a house with him, please let us know why
- 12:09Speaker 1: he was chosen to fit the role. I mean, like,
- 12:15Speaker 1: I mean, I wasn't a part of the decision making,
- 12:17Speaker 1: so but I mean he's like I'm super happy, like
- 12:20Speaker 1: like like Clayton is a is a stand up guy,
- 12:22Speaker 1: like like that is he's he's a he's a good
- 12:24Speaker 1: friend of mine. Um, and you know, like I I
- 12:28Speaker 1: think I think it was it was the right decision. Um,
- 12:31Speaker 1: you know, so I'm happy with. I'm happy with, I'm
- 12:34Speaker 1: happy for Clayton, you know what I mean. So, um yeah,
- 12:38Speaker 1: I'm really excited to start watching that that season. Michelon
- 12:40Speaker 1: are already talked that we're gonna be locked in come
- 12:42Speaker 1: January three. So that's great. Okay, Well I know you
- 12:46Speaker 1: guys have to go, but I have one last question
- 12:50Speaker 1: for you, um how I mean, how much pressure is
- 12:56Speaker 1: there to one stay together right now and to start
- 12:59Speaker 1: planning a wedding because Bachelor Nation has had a lot
- 13:05Speaker 1: of breakups this year and everybody's looking for like the
- 13:09Speaker 1: fairy tale positive ending And are you are you guys
- 13:14Speaker 1: going to give into this pressure of just like let's
- 13:18Speaker 1: let's get the one and going, or are you gonna
- 13:20Speaker 1: date as so many tend to. I mean, we like Batchel,
- 13:26Speaker 1: we love Batchelor Nation support you know, but like also
- 13:32Speaker 1: we came into this very much knowing that I choose you,
- 13:36Speaker 1: you choose me, Like this is our relationship and we
- 13:38Speaker 1: do love sharing it with people, um and with us.
- 13:42Speaker 1: I feel like we can get the ball rolling fast enough.
- 13:45Speaker 1: I remember, like he asked me, He's like, so when
- 13:47Speaker 1: are we gonna start looking at like dates? And I'm
- 13:48Speaker 1: like dates for what? And he's like the wedding, I'll say,
- 13:51Speaker 1: let's go. I'm like, you know, and so we are.
- 13:55Speaker 1: We kind of are two people who you know, once
- 13:57Speaker 1: we get engaged, like we kind of want to get
- 13:59Speaker 1: to the next step. You don't want to have a
- 14:01Speaker 1: long engagement um for us personally. And as far as
- 14:05Speaker 1: pressure to stay together, there is no pressure whatsoever. Like
- 14:09Speaker 1: that's not even something that has who cares like I mean,
- 14:13Speaker 1: I just like I focused on him to focused on me,
- 14:15Speaker 1: and it's like you knows our world. There's just you know,
- 14:18Speaker 1: we're in a fish bubble and people are watching it.
- 14:20Speaker 1: But like people are just gonna be happy that he's
- 14:23Speaker 1: talking about wedding dates and all that. That's that's awesome. Okay, fine,
- 14:28Speaker 1: I have one more question about the the overnights. You know,
- 14:31Speaker 1: how you guys get to have a little happy couple
- 14:33Speaker 1: of weekends. What would you spend most of your time doing?
- 14:38Speaker 1: Make it PG? Thirteen Happy couple weeks? What would we say?
- 14:44Speaker 1: I blasting music, dancing around, singing, talking, a lot of cooking,
- 14:51Speaker 1: a lot of eating. What's what's the go to meal?
- 14:54Speaker 1: Who's good at cooking? What throwing down in the kitchen?
- 14:58Speaker 1: We both can cook, but I will lot of breakfast food,
- 15:00Speaker 1: a lot of breakfast food, like a mean brunch. But
- 15:03Speaker 1: we both can cook well. He like prefers, like he
- 15:08Speaker 1: wants to get up before me and like have breakfast
- 15:10Speaker 1: ready for me, which is really which is really is sweet, right,
- 15:13Speaker 1: but then sometimes I'm like stop, like let me like
- 15:17Speaker 1: I can do it. Okay, let me think it does breakfast.
- 15:19Speaker 1: But yeah, he's he's he can throw down. Well, what's
- 15:22Speaker 1: the specialty the French toast? Um, French toast with like
- 15:28Speaker 1: a whole bunch of different fruit on top of it,
- 15:30Speaker 1: with whipped cream, syrup, you know, some bacon on the side,
- 15:33Speaker 1: Turkey bacon on the side, maybe some scrambled eggs on
- 15:36Speaker 1: the side. But then we do a lot of like
- 15:38Speaker 1: breakfast bagels, Um, a lot of you know, just breakfast,
- 15:41Speaker 1: which is things like that, but just a lot of
- 15:43Speaker 1: breakfast food in general. Honestly delicious. And you guys are
- 15:46Speaker 1: delicious to look at, Like what a beautiful couple like wow,
- 15:49Speaker 1: please like models gorgeous. All right, well, good luck to
- 15:54Speaker 1: you guys. Enjoy the you know, being out and free
- 15:58Speaker 1: about your relationship. It's a really fun time. Okay, well
- 16:17Speaker 1: that was fun. I actually feel like they are going
- 16:20Speaker 1: to stand the test of time. They are very happy,
- 16:22Speaker 1: they feel very I feel like they are very confident
- 16:25Speaker 1: and secure in their relationship. Um, I'm excited to hopefully
- 16:29Speaker 1: have a bachelor in Asian couple make it to the
- 16:32Speaker 1: altar stand the test of time. Jared, did I need um?
- 16:36Speaker 1: We need a little bit more company in that realm.
