  [SPEAKER_00]: I just wanted to chat about free agency as we get ready to kick off the legal tampering period on Monday.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Is it going to be a big day for the Jack Wars and around the league?

  [SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of news kind of moving around.

  [SPEAKER_00]: We're just going to take a look at a few different things.

  [SPEAKER_00]: A few different story lines here for the Jack Wars as we get ready to get free agency kicked off.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Really, teams can agree.

  [SPEAKER_00]: with players and their representation on new deals, they just can't become official until Wednesday, March 11th, start the new league year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Same thing with trades.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, there's a lot to, there's a lot that's going to be happening.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Again, both for the Jack Wars and around the league, whether it be like their big free agents heading elsewhere, resigning with the team.

  [SPEAKER_00]: and they're going to be aggressive as ever always, you know, with James Gladstone at the helm, they're going to be in aggressive organization and they're going to do everything they can to improve the football team where they see fit.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now the Jaguars, they are just barely in the green when it comes to cap space, but they have a number of roster mechanisms basically contract restructures that they can execute very simply and easily to clear up a lot more

  [SPEAKER_00]: with trading for a big player or signing a big player.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They have the ability to do that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There's no question.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So the Jack Wars they did round out, I believe they rounded out their defensive staff, a system defensive assistant Grant Morgan was hired by the team.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And so that they had recently lost a defensive assistant, but now their staff is rounded out.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Basically three new additions, the defensive assistant Grant Morgan, who is a former linebacker, a big time college linebacker,

  [SPEAKER_00]: And he's been coaching for a few years now, and then he also had Matthew Rujo coming over from the Miami Dolphins, who had experience with Anthony Campanile, he's the Jaguars Evenst of Pascam coordinator, and you had Brian Bucucci come over from Tampa.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Jaguars were interested in him as their offensive line coach last year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They weren't able to bring him over.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But they get him this year after Tampa made changes to their offensive staff.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So the Jags coaching staff rounded out.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It looks like heading into what is going to be a big week for the football team.

  [SPEAKER_00]: and then teams can officially sign players and execute trades starting at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11th.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So what's gonna go down for the Jag Wars?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously we mentioned the hiring of Grant Morgan.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jag Wars apparently have interest in Jalen Carter according to a Philadelphia Eagles reporter.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know how legitimate that is, but what it surprised me if they're interested in Jalen Carter.

  [SPEAKER_00]: No, absolutely not.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They were, and on the Quinn and Williams deal at the Trade Deadline last year, they were sniffing around at least kind of figuring out if they had anything that they could do regarding Max Crosby, which they just didn't have the 2026 draft ammunition to get into the ballpark of what the Ravens and some of the other teams were offering, but they were interested.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I would not be surprised if they're looking at potentially making an offer for Jalen Carter,

  [SPEAKER_00]: We all know about kind of the character questions that some people have obviously the big off-field incident prior to his draft, which took him from being like a surefire top pick to like the ninth pick for the Eagles and how he rosemen is always really good at taking advantage of situations that the NFL presents him in the best way as a GM and he did that

  [SPEAKER_00]: an unbelievable talent as an interior defensive lineman if the Jaguars were able to add someone like that that could dramatically shift their defense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like that could take them from a middleing path.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But like if you have Josh Hines Allen, Jalen Carter, and Trayvon Walker somehow all together, that could really change things for the Jaguars defensive front.

  [SPEAKER_00]: who you are as a person as much as who you are as a player so they would have to feel comfortable jailing Carter the player the person which I'm not saying that they are not I just don't know but that's something you always have to bring up when you have somebody with like character concerns or question marks at the very least some different things that have happened on the field off the field so

  [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Jalen Carter, that would be what a home run swing that would be for the Jack Wars.

  [SPEAKER_00]: We'll monitor that situation closely.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jack Wars are also, so, form of one.

  [SPEAKER_00]: One of the reasons a lot of people are talking about Jalen Carter being available is the Eagle Sign Jordan Davis to a $26 million per year contract.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Are they going to want to extend Jalen Carter as well?

  [SPEAKER_00]: They don't have to do that right now, like they've got a couple years of control of Jalen Carter.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So it's not an imminent situation.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They could very much just let things play out.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But if they want to capitalize and they don't want to invest all that money into Jalen Carter in the future, they could capitalize on it now and potentially get, you know,

  [SPEAKER_00]: I would imagine whoever gets jail and Carter is giving up at least a first round pick for him.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously the Jaguars don't have a 2026 first round pick, but they could offer, let's say, 56 overall and a 2027 first round pick.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They could offer 2027 and 2028.

  [SPEAKER_00]: James Gladstone is very comfortable with the F. them picks mindset.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Monteric Buster Brown before the start of the legal tampering period, because

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like, he's perfect for their scheme.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's kind of the epitome of one of these guys that they have resigned so far where they just fit who they want.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They fit how they want them to play.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And Buster Brown is just a really good fit for this Jaguar zone defense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's smart, he's tough, he comes downhill against the run and is very physical, and he makes plays on the football.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, Buster Brown, the one issue with him is he really doesn't have the best athleticism or speed relative to other star players at the cornerback position, but the Jaguar is apparently looking to lock him up.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm still expecting Devon Lloyd and Travis ETN, Andrew Winger, Greg Newsome to land elsewhere.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Lloyd and E.T.N are going to be paid to be big-time starters.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think Newsom could be paid to be a starter or someone who's at least competing to start somewhere else.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think Greg Newsom and a more man heavy scheme makes a lot more sense than he did with the Jaguars.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then, do we win, or I wouldn't have guessed that people would be interested in signing him as a starter, but you've heard scuttlebutt about that around the league.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like teams at least valuing him as like a third safety somebody who can get reps.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So it seems like he's gonna play elsewhere and you've kind of heard that around the rumor mill.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then two guys I think will be back are Dennis Gardeck and we've talked about both of these guys too.

  [SPEAKER_00]: We've talked about every player that the Jaguar's have for free agency.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think Dennis Gardeck and Tim Patrick will be back at some point.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar is valued in his Gardeck skill set in a big way.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, they have Jailin McLeod.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, they have you Sierra Abdullah.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Dennis Gardeck, I think, has just so much more of a proven track record in the league and with this team based on what he did last year, but he's kind of like a very specific player.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Don't know how much competition there would be for the Jaguars to bring him back and then Tim Patrick, like they did give up draft capital last year to go get Tim Patrick, which doesn't necessarily mean they have to bring him back.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But to me, he seems like a player that, you know, was always sitting next to Trevor Lawrence in the meeting rooms.

  [SPEAKER_00]: was a playmaker for them down the stretch just seems like a good fit overall and in the type of guy you want as a veteran presence in your your wide receiver room.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Everyone else I could really see departing.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You've got the army brown I definitely expect to go somewhere else and man you'll log by expect to go somewhere else.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But I can see it either way.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I know they're like Austin Johnson too, but they already brought Batman, Matt Dickerson.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think Austin Johnson could be a later in free agency guy, whether that's with the Jag wars or elsewhere.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He might just have to kind of wait as turning, really all four of those guys.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think they're gonna be a immediate signings anywhere quite frankly.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think they're gonna have to wait it out a little bit.

  [SPEAKER_00]: As for trades, other than Jalen Carter, I am still definitely keeping my eye on Jonathan Grinard.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If the Jaguars were interested in pursuing Max Crosby, that means they believe there is some way that they can get another edge player, Trayvon Walker, and Josh Hines Allen on the field altogether, or it means they would be willing to move on from one of those players.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I, my guess is that they think they could get

  [SPEAKER_00]: another ad-dressure plus tray of on plus Josh Hines Allen on the field all the same time which they've shown they can do.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Down the stretch they were putting tray of on walker and Josh Hines Allen on the same side of the line is on the same side of the defensive line often you know putting them next to each other and letting them play some games and kind of wreak havoc and I think that that's something they should continue to do so getting Jonathan Granard you have just like an insane rotation of three really really good edge players

  [SPEAKER_00]: Travelling Walker who can kick inside and just do a lot for you, but I'm keeping an eye on him.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Apparently, it's reported that he wants a new deal, so that's something to keep in mind.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It could complicate things long-term like he's going to be 29 years old to the Jaguar who want to commit to him for multiple years.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, but if they weren't interested in committing to him for multiple years,

  [SPEAKER_00]: They could write a new contract, which would help the 2026 cap for Jonathan Grinart, because he's got a pretty big cap at it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If they wrote a new contract with the signing bonus and void years and stuff, they could really kind of get some capital leaf if they were interested in going down that road.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then big free agent that I'm keeping my eye on is Bradley Chub and he's not going to he's not going to be a compensatory free agent because he was released by his team.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So he's somebody who the Jaguars could sign and not have to worry about whatever contract they sign him to is going to impact their compensatory pick formula.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Any player who is an unrestricted free agent that was not released by their team, if they sign in the top 35% of contracts at their position, they can potentially impact your compensatory pick formula.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So that's one thing the Jack Wars are going to be monitoring, going to be wary of Bradley Chub has ties to this coaching staff.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Again, plays edge, but I think he could move around a little bit on that defensive front and make sense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And so I do think anybody the Jaguar sign.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They're either going to have to be not impacting the convict formula because they were released or they're going to be outside of that 35% threshold and in all likelihood because the jag war is don't want to mess up what they could have with potential comp picks coming back from Devon Lloyd, which could be a third or a fourth round convict.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Travis ETN, which probably would be a seventh round convict.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think if Greg Newsom was going to get you on to it would be seventh again, they're trying to bring back Monterey bus to Brown, which I think they should.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think his best value is in Jacksonville and I think Jacksonville is the best spot for him.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So I would love to see him back and when Travis Hunter rocking on the outside, Jarian Jones and George Lewis.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Jarian Jones can kind of be your third corner and

  [SPEAKER_00]: a top nickel, Jordan Lewis, be your top nickel.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So Jordan Lewis, come back from the injury foot injury though.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So we'll see when he's healthy again, not exactly sure what the timelines are going to be there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But those are some things I'm keeping an eye on.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, any interior defensive linemen that can heat up the quarterback.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think the Jaguar is going to potentially be interested in.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And so any of those names are people to watch.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So you're gonna cost too much, I don't know, that's somebody I've always been a high on for the Jaguars, but I just don't know if they're gonna be able to get in on that, but yeah, just wanted to again chat with you all prior to prior to the start of the legal tampering period, I'm really excited for tomorrow, let me know who you're looking for the Jaguars to add, subtract, trade for, cut, whatever it may be, when it comes to cuts.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There's not a lot of names that makes sense as pre-June 1 cuts, which those are the only ones that could actually really help the Jaguar sign players right now, but there's some different things you can do where post-June 1 cuts can help sign your draft class and things of that nature.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You can't do that, but Chuma Adoga is a player that the Jaguars could save almost 3 million by moving on from same thing with Johnny Month.

  [SPEAKER_00]: what they are on your team, which to me I would like Johnny want to be a third fourth tight end, really?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, Britain's strange and Quint Morris is back and I'd like the Jack Morris to add and for agency or the draft to the tight end room.
