Transcript
- 0:00I'm Christina and I'm t And this is the Pretty and Pink Again podcast where motherhood meets rediscovery.
- 0:16hey, hey, hey.
- 0:18Hi.
- 0:19So we're gonna reair one of our favorite episodes, and still extremely, extremely prominent because why the F isn't our Botox working anymore?
- 0:31Christina, I don't know.
- 0:32And I, I, I don't wanna shit on any provider- I know because I've been to like five different providers.
- 0:38I, I have a lot of theories.
- 0:40And I've tried Botox.
- 0:42Yeah.
- 0:42I've tried Dysport.
- 0:44I've tried Xeomin, semen, whatever the fuck it's called.
- 0:48That's currently what I have.
- 0:49Yep.
- 0:50Like, I, I know we don't have the cameras, but like it, it doesn't work.
- 0:54It's, yeah, yeah.
- 0:54It doesn't.
- 0:54It doesn't work.
- 0:55What's happening?
- 0:55We have movement.
- 0:55I think, so my theories are- What's happening?
- 0:58my theories are our bodies are either just like metabolizing it super fast, like maybe it's, it's not exciting anymore to our bodies- How come it doesn't metabolize my dinner- so our bodies just like wear it off that fast?
- 1:09Maybe.
- 1:10I know, right?
- 1:11Like can it ma- maybe metabolize other things a little faster?
- 1:14No.
- 1:14Like it, but yeah, that's maybe when you reach 40, it's like,"Ah, we'll metabolize all the food really slow," and then your Botox we'll eat it up.
- 1:22We're gonna eat that shit up.
- 1:23We're gonna eat it up.
- 1:24But so I, I think it's either that or it's like your baseline just raises and you're like- So we need more yeah, but maybe it's like psychological.
- 1:33Like we don't need more, but you're just like not used to your face moving.
- 1:37And so when you see movement, you're like,"This isn't working anymore." Right.
- 1:40Right?
- 1:40Like, but it, it's like there's gonna be movement.
- 1:43Right.
- 1:43You know?
- 1:43Like we wanna look natural.
- 1:45Well, like my seven-year-old daughter, she has movement.
- 1:48Right.
- 1:48I should also have movement.
- 1:49Like I should look shocked.
- 1:52You know?
- 1:53Like when I'm shocked.
- 1:54Like, Maybe a provider can help me with this.
- 1:56When I raise up, there's like lines now.
- 1:59It's- There's like two lines it's not, but your face is like not moving.
- 2:02I mean, it is, but it, it's not.
- 2:03But like, b- I understand, but like I don't want like just like two random lines- Right when I raise up.
- 2:08I have it right above the eyebrows.
- 2:09Right above the eyebrow.
- 2:10Yeah, that happens to me too.
- 2:12I don't love that.
- 2:13I feel like that wears off the fastest.
- 2:13I'd rather the whole thing move- Yeah or nothing moves.
- 2:16Yeah.
- 2:16'Cause just right above the eyebrows look weird.
- 2:18Yeah.
- 2:19I agree with that.
- 2:19But- I get little like indentations right above the eyebrows they're like indent- they look like commas above- Yeah my eyebrows.
- 2:24I know.
- 2:24And they're not my favorite.
- 2:25I know.
- 2:26And I can just feel it.
- 2:27Do you feel like you get a headache when your Botox wears off?
- 2:30'Cause I feel like I can actually feel- Really?
- 2:32like my head.
- 2:33Like- No.
- 2:34Yeah.
- 2:34I've never had that happen to me before.
- 2:35Yeah.
- 2:36I feel like it's supposed to help with like headaches and stuff too.
- 2:39Oh, so then that's a thing.
- 2:40So I kind of feel like Yeah, but it, again, it could, this could be psychological.
- 2:43So I don't know.
- 2:44This was one of our top episodes of the entire year.
- 2:48Mm-hmm.
- 2:48And all of us collectively were like all feeling the same thing but didn't wanna say it.
- 2:54So this episode just like hits all the marks.
- 2:56And Olga is fantastic.
- 2:58She has, so much information, and she's so knowledgeable in, the aesthetics industry.
- 3:03Mm-hmm.
- 3:03And I have to say, T has been like regularly going to her, and your face looks incredible.
- 3:09Thank you.
- 3:09Thank you for saying that.
- 3:11Like your skin is insane.
- 3:11Well, she changed my skincare regimen.
- 3:13Mm.
- 3:13And so I am somebody that sometimes goes to sleep without washing her face- That's, I, I can't and brushing her teeth.
- 3:19I can't.
- 3:19Like I just hit the pillow at nighttime.
- 3:21I can't.
- 3:21Like we were just- I can't talking for like an hour before we started filming about sleep.
- 3:25Yeah.
- 3:26Like when I'm ready for bed, I- You're done I just, I fall asleep.
- 3:30Yeah, yeah.
- 3:30So I like don't always wash my face and brush my teeth before I get into bed.
- 3:34You're like one of those girls.
- 3:35Like I just sometimes just- It's so unfair hit it.
- 3:36Yeah.
- 3:37Like I follow this girl on Instagram, Miranda, what is her last name?
- 3:40She's a NP injector, and her nighttime routine is like an hour and 30 minutes.
- 3:46Yeah.
- 3:46She wears this like vest thing and the face and this and that.
- 3:49Like I just hit it.
- 3:51Ugh.
- 3:51So with that in mind, I said to Olga like,"If I'm going to s- invest money in these products, it has to be like five." Easy.
- 3:59Easy peasy.
- 3:59Five products really fast.
- 4:01So I did.
- 4:02So I invested in them in January.
- 4:03I only just recently ran out of one.
- 4:06You know how when you get products and like use a dime- Yeah and then you've used a dime and you haven't even covered your cheek?
- 4:11Yes.
- 4:11And you're like,"Well, where does the rest of it..." Yes.
- 4:13Like- Yes I don't understand.
- 4:15Like- Like you need more product they actually like blend and smooth.
- 4:18Oh.
- 4:18And so anyway, so I invested in Olga's products, and they're not all from one line either.
- 4:24Right.
- 4:24She uses like- retinol from one prod- one line, like a hydrating thing from another line, and I, I, I don't know.
- 4:31She is- And it was very tailored to you.
- 4:32It was tailored to my skin.
- 4:35Like, she, like, got in there and, like, assessed it, and I've been doing her lasers- I know'cause she just got the Clear and Brilliant- Talk to me about the laser.
- 4:41So she just got the Clear and Brilliant laser, and from what I gather is that when you do, microneedling.
- 4:48Mm-hmm.
- 4:48The first pass of the laser is, like, microneedling- Mm-hmm so it makes all those little micro abrasions to cause, like, collagen growth.
- 4:56And then the next one is to help, target pigment.
- 5:00So I don't-'Cause you have, like, no pigment on your face.
- 5:03Well- Your face is like I do have pigment because...
- 5:06but I'm wearing a very light, light tinted moisturizer right now.
- 5:09But it just, your face looks- But it...
- 5:10but a lot of, like, the big pigmented areas, like, have- Are smoothed out softened- Yeah and have smoothed out.
- 5:17And it looked like I got cheek filler because of the collagen production.
- 5:20Yeah.
- 5:20Your, your face looks- I did not get cheek filler the best it has looked.
- 5:24So she is incredible.
- 5:27She is the gal.
- 5:28She is the gal.
- 5:29So I did two of the treatments.
- 5:30I'm gonna save and do the third one.
- 5:32It's a series of three.
- 5:33Mm-hmm.
- 5:33I'm gonna save and do the third one at the end of the summer.
- 5:35Mm-hmm.
- 5:35But I have been slathering zinc on my face, like, just straight up zinc, and I've been wearing a hat.
- 5:41This is the first summer that I don't have melasma on my upper lip either.
- 5:45I get melasma so easily because- I hit the sun, I hit the heat, and Olga was like,"It's gonna just come back." It, yeah, I feel like mine comes back too.
- 5:53"All of this hard work is gonna come back." Yeah.
- 5:54So the zinc that she g- like, uh, just do what she does.
- 5:58Yep.
- 5:58And before I left for my trip last week, she left me a little baggie of sample sizes of everything that I was using so I didn't have to take my- So nice five big products.
- 6:07So anyways, um, I could go on and on about her, but- I know she- And we're gonna reair the episode because she just had so much information, and we did, like, rapid fire where we were asking her all the hard-hitting questions about anything kind of, like, prominent in the beauty, aesthetician world.
- 6:23Right.
- 6:23And, like, she was just so great.
- 6:26So we are reairing this episode.
- 6:28You girls loved this one.
- 6:29Mm-hmm.
- 6:30And we're so, so, so excited to reair it again, and maybe we'll have her back on if we have another- I love her kind of topic to, to talk about with her.
- 6:37I love beauty- I do too ha- tips, tricks, hacks.
- 6:41Give me all the things.
- 6:42What's working, what's not working.
- 6:44Yep.
- 6:44Yeah.
- 6:44So- What's worth your money you know?
- 6:45We got into all of that with her, and so this was, like, a really fun episode.
- 6:50You're gonna learn a lot.
- 6:51And yes, if you are in Connecticut, or even local to Connecticut, she has people, like, drive hours to come see her.
- 6:57She is, like I said, the gal.
- 6:58So listen to this.
- 7:00She is worth it.
- 7:00Yep.
- 7:01She is worth it.
- 7:02Olga, we love you.
- 7:03Okay.
- 7:04Here you go.
- 7:05See you all next week.
- 7:06Today's guest is somebody who has access to some of the most advanced skincare technology, treatments, and information in the industry.
- 7:13Olga is a nurse skincare expert and founder of Owen Skincare and somebody who has built her practice on truly bespoke, highly customized treatments.
- 7:23She has the best of the best technology, and she works with women every single day helping them look refreshed, natural, and confident.
- 7:29And what we love most is that her approach isn't about trends, it's about what actually works.
- 7:34Welcome, Olga.
- 7:35Hello.
- 7:36Thank you so much for having me.
- 7:37Thank you for being here with us today.
- 7:39Thank you so much, studio.
- 7:40Finally, we have been wanting for having happy.
- 7:42What's an honor again?
- 7:43What an yes.
- 7:43We're just this beautiful, glowing face here this morning.
- 7:46Thank you.
- 7:47I know so when I come to see you, I often find myself talking with you the entire treatment.
- 7:51And I know you're like, no, we're, we shouldn't talk.
- 7:54This is your time to relax.
- 7:55'cause I know there's like a method to your madness, how you're supposed to get people into relax their nervous system and get into this good state so everything works.
- 8:02Am always asking, what are you doing next?
- 8:05What's next?
- 8:05What does this do?
- 8:06Because I'm so curious because she has all of curious, she's in the know, right.
- 8:08You are in the know, you know everything.
- 8:11I know.
- 8:11It's very true.
- 8:12Usually I, I catch myself during treatments.
- 8:14People wanna catch up and they wanna share some personal stories and I do too.
- 8:18But truly results are different when you go into that very rested state.
- 8:23And I do my magic in between, so I customize my treatments, but you have to almost be asleep.
- 8:29I always tell my customers that if you fall asleep, it's a compliment to me.
- 8:33And the results are so much more intensified.
- 8:36When you actually disconnect from your daily routine, from your struggles, from your motherhood problems, and then we catch up after.
- 8:43Right.
- 8:43I always have the time ready to catch up afterwards.
- 8:46Okay.
- 8:47I need to make sure that I have the time afterwards Yeah.
- 8:49To catch up because I'm always trying to do three things at once and I guess I'm not getting the best results.
- 8:55And you love the, you love the express well facial.
- 8:57I go in there and I'm like, what could we do for two hours?
- 9:02I'm here to relax, but I have a little secret.
- 9:04I always book the two hours.
- 9:05Even if you book yourself a 45 minutes, me, I do book my two hours for you to catch up.
- 9:11I love that because it really is not a rushed environment at all.
- 9:15And we wanna go into your background.
- 9:18I know your background is impressive, so I remember when we were talking like how this whole started, you were saying that you were like an exhausted mother and you were looking for something and you couldn't find it, so you created it.
- 9:29Very true.
- 9:30So talk to us a little bit about that.
- 9:31Very true.
- 9:32Four hil, four children.
- 9:33I remember myself being in postpartum for very long portion of my life and I, I've been going through postpartum blues and from my second child I was an exhausted nurse.
- 9:42Worked a lot, multiple shifts, and I was looking for treatment that can actually.
- 9:47Sense me and my exhaustion and I wanted to improve my skin quality.
- 9:50I wasn't ready to go to a day spa and have oils on my skin.
- 9:54I wanted a really good treatment that's medical grade, but also someone that knows what to do with their hands and bring me in that deep state so I can go home, I can be a better mom, I can be a better professional, and.
- 10:05I went far and along drove all budgets, treatments of all kinds, and I couldn't find until one day I told myself I will build something that can see through and yes, still deliver a medical grade treatment and improve someone's skin, but also they can go home and just be a better person.
- 10:21I feel like you said that so well because you are like the perfect blend of that.
- 10:25And we have both done facials, we've both done treatments with you so we can vouch for this.
- 10:30Thank you.
- 10:30I totally agree.
- 10:30And we've done them to her point far and wide.
- 10:32Yes.
- 10:32And I feel like to your point you really were getting either or right?
- 10:37Like you were going somewhere to relax.
- 10:39Yes.
- 10:39But it's usually those are not the best facials that actually do something for you.
- 10:44Right.
- 10:44Or you go to a more medical route.
- 10:47Right.
- 10:47But that is not a hint of relaxing, you know?
- 10:50So this is, it's a device.
- 10:51Yes, you blended the two.
- 10:52Yes.
- 10:52It's a medical smell and you do, and the, and the price point of those treatments is very high.
- 10:57And it's usually quick, quick 50 minutes treatment.
- 11:00They have to go, they have a full schedule.
- 11:02And yes, you do see improvement in your skin, but then you go home.
- 11:05I'm like, what did I do?
- 11:06I completely believe that those worlds can be combined.
- 11:09Yes.
- 11:10I think especially for moms too.
- 11:11And I feel like that is why you're like, perfect for this because you're a mother, you know.
- 11:18Like you said, you were looking for something like this because you wanted to go and relax, but then we're also exhausted.
- 11:23We also need a little something going on in our skin to make us look rested.
- 11:28It really is the perfect blend of that.
- 11:29Yeah.
- 11:30So before we get into Owen Skincare, you are also our former Mrs.
- 11:36Connecticut.
- 11:36Talk to us a little bit about the pageant world.
- 11:38Yes, just a bit.
- 11:39Last year out of nowhere, me and my husband just decided to, uh, join the pageantry.
- 11:45We were going through a difficult, stage in our life.
- 11:47One of, one of our family member was ill, so we decided let's bring some joy.
- 11:51Signed up for the pageantry unprepared, but I had the same mission.
- 11:55I met with the judges and I just shared what I truly see..
- 11:59Bringing a change in my community and they aligned and they see so through me and I'm thankful for that today.
- 12:05It's an experience of Lifetime.
- 12:07I know that's once a lifetime for me.
- 12:08Yeah.
- 12:09My children were very excited.
- 12:10My daughter, we had to go to Las Vegas.
- 12:13But just connecting with other women from other states, it's just a memory of lifetime.
- 12:18What were some commonalities that you found between the other misses from the other states?
- 12:24Very involved and for the difference between misses and miss.
- 12:28These are women, mature women, and they know what they do.
- 12:32And they have a mission.
- 12:33They have a career, they have children.
- 12:35I have met all their children in the hotel.
- 12:37And just family values and family love brings them to stage.
- 12:41A lot of life experience.
- 12:42Is what I feel like those are always the best stories, right?
- 12:45Yes.
- 12:45And where you learn the most is through Yes.
- 12:48Actual lived experience.
- 12:50Yes, absolutely.
- 12:50And the feeling of just, I do have that pink again.
- 12:54I do have the spark again.
- 12:55Yeah.
- 12:55And here I am on the stage.
- 12:56I have to put myself together.
- 12:57I can speak about my mission, I can share, I can put two clothes together.
- 13:02It's important.
- 13:03And for your children, as an example, again, I feel that you have to just understand.
- 13:08It doesn't take the whole portion of your life.
- 13:10The pageantry can just be delusional in many cases, but as a one-time experience, it's worth it for every woman.
- 13:17I love that your kids got to experience that with you and see you Yes.
- 13:22Through that.
- 13:22And it was a positive, you know?
- 13:23Yeah, I agree.
- 13:24That's probably so impactful.
- 13:26And they probably won't even realize the impact'cause they're still little, but I bet you that is just gonna be both huge girls and boys.
- 13:33Yeah.
- 13:34I love that.
- 13:34What was your mission that you shared through that platform?
- 13:37Skincare and motherhood skin.
- 13:39You can find skincare and motherhood.
- 13:40Yes, you can find yourself in motherhood through a simple, genuine skincare again.
- 13:46Okay, so then let's talk about that.
- 13:48Let's get into that.
- 13:49Let's get right into that.
- 13:50That's what everybody wants to hear.
- 13:53All right.
- 13:53So we wanna talk to you about something that I think is like weighing on me now.
- 13:59I'm almost 40.
- 14:00Mm-hmm.
- 14:00Same with Christina.
- 14:02And we have mature skin and we have, you know, it's just part of life, you know, it's not good.
- 14:07It's not bad.
- 14:08I still think my skin is good, but it's mature.
- 14:10Mm-hmm.
- 14:10Okay.
- 14:10Something that comes with mature skin is, years of sun exposure.
- 14:14So talk to us a little bit about that.
- 14:16Like what is something that ages our skin the most?
- 14:20Yes.
- 14:20I speak about that on a daily with women, and I feel that first and foremost, women need to accept the aging process.
- 14:27Yeah.
- 14:27It's okay and it's normal and we want to age and we wanna be there.
- 14:31But few factors that actually play a huge difference is.
- 14:35Basic sleep.
- 14:36We need sleep.
- 14:38High quality sleep, movement and movement, that's part of your daily routine movement that doesn't feel heavy and doesn't take too much of your day.
- 14:45So walks any form of movement.
- 14:47And then human connection, just circle connecting with people and just doing well to others.
- 14:55And simple skincare routine.
- 14:57That's time tested.
- 14:58That's not new.
- 14:59It's not trendy.
- 15:00Something that our great, great parents have experienced.
- 15:04And so improvements and it comes to ingredients, few devices, and that's all.
- 15:07Are you kind of like a simpler is better approach?
- 15:11Like less is more.
- 15:11Less is more is more.
- 15:12Absolutely.
- 15:13Yeah.
- 15:13Less is more.
- 15:14Few good ingredients, few devices here and there, and routine that just goes well with your timing.
- 15:20Do you feel like I, this is something that I've experienced.
- 15:24Every like five-ish years.
- 15:26I feel like I need to kind of revamp my skincare routine.
- 15:29I'm very much into using the same products and creating that system.
- 15:34Right.
- 15:34So that it's kind of like, okay, I know when my skin needs this.
- 15:37Yes.
- 15:37And I kind of listen to it.
- 15:39But then I'm in this right now where I feel like five years ago I was also in this and I have to switch up my products and kind of switch up my approach.
- 15:46'Cause I feel like things just sit on my skin and when I get to that point I'm like, okay, something's not working.
- 15:52It's not jiving anymore.
- 15:53And I am there now.
- 15:54So I did wanna talk to you about that.
- 15:56Is that normal to kind of have to switch it up?
- 15:58Is it maybe'cause of the aging process?
- 16:00So we do not even once in a year, once in a five year increment.
- 16:04Seasonally we need to change ingredients just using few ingredients that truly make the difference from my professional experience, it's.
- 16:11Really good acid formulas.
- 16:12Mm-hmm.
- 16:13Uh, they bring an instant result and instant gratification compared to long-term use of retinoids.
- 16:18Okay.
- 16:18For nighttime.
- 16:19Mm-hmm.
- 16:20To ingredients that play a huge role.
- 16:21And then we play with serums.
- 16:23Serums are the highly concentrated active ingredients that bring the highest amount of change.
- 16:29What is an example of an acid?
- 16:32Lactic acid.
- 16:32Okay.
- 16:33Lovely.
- 16:33Mandelic.
- 16:34Glycolic.
- 16:35Salicylic.
- 16:36Okay.
- 16:36Sometimes it's one acid, sometimes a combination of multiple acids depending on the skin, is that something that you want to switch up depending on what your skin needs?
- 16:44Yes.
- 16:44Is that something that you can have like a little mm-hmm.
- 16:46Kind of library and then say, oh, my skin feels very clogged right now, I'm reaching for this.
- 16:51Yes.
- 16:51Okay.
- 16:51Absolutely.
- 16:52So for example, salicylic acid, for people that have little more cement production, we tend to go towards sali silicon, summertime, and then lactic, very gentle, very wonderful for mature skin and combination of lactic mandelic and glycolic.
- 17:05This is what usually people like a different, a different dosage.
- 17:08Okay.
- 17:08What was the acid that you gave me in the enzymes?
- 17:12Oh, that was an enzyme.
- 17:12It's an acid also, but it's an powder form that get emulsified and you can just rub it specifically on the T-zone.
- 17:19People don't have blackheads anymore, and we, speaking of blackheads, I don't believe in extractions.
- 17:24I extract one when there is a need, but I don't extract everyone because when we use the right acidic formula.
- 17:31There is no blackhead.
- 17:33There's no need of extractions at all.
- 17:34What was the name of that enzyme.
- 17:36Powder.
- 17:37Powder.
- 17:37Yes.
- 17:37From a tear.
- 17:38A tear is lovely.
- 17:39A company that's developed in Zurich, Switzerland and made in Germany.
- 17:44Very.
- 17:44Alright, so acid is like number one.
- 17:47Number one.
- 17:47For daytime.
- 17:48For daytime, I wouldn't combine acid with a retinoid.
- 17:51People quite often do the same mistake.
- 17:53So acid would be morning time and then retinoids.
- 17:56Any form of retinoids would be nighttime.
- 17:58Nighttime.
- 17:59On the same day.
- 18:00On the same day.
- 18:00And all year round.
- 18:02All year round.
- 18:03All year round.
- 18:03Different retinoids, depending on the season and depending How your skin feels, and that instant moment in time, we would customize retinoids.
- 18:10So some people are already accustomed to the medical version of isotretinoin or, threat.
- 18:16Mm-hmm.
- 18:17Everyone knows it as threat.
- 18:17Mm-hmm.
- 18:18It's very strong.
- 18:19It's almost a medicine.
- 18:21So people like alternatives and I help them find the best alternative.
- 18:25What is one that you are constantly reaching for, for your clients?
- 18:28Retinol.
- 18:29A retinol.
- 18:30Okay.
- 18:3012 derivatives of retinoid.
- 18:32Okay.
- 18:32Is there like a certain brand of retinol that you like to use?
- 18:35Yes, I like multiple.
- 18:36So a cure is one of the re a same thing.
- 18:39That one from Switzer, Switzerland.
- 18:40It's one of them.
- 18:40They have won multiple awards in Europe.
- 18:42It's very gentle.
- 18:43People love it.
- 18:44And Enron environ a wonderful company.
- 18:47It's a vitamin A based company.
- 18:49So they have large formulas of all forms of vitamin A and people, once they start, they fell in love.
- 18:55They never feel dry and never feel f flaky.
- 18:57They never feel that their barrier is in impaired.
- 18:59So is that the envir vitamin A?
- 19:02Okay.
- 19:02The sequence.
- 19:03Okay.
- 19:03So it's a step up system.
- 19:05We start slow and we build tolerance.
- 19:07So then talk to us about some serums.
- 19:10'cause is that the next kinda, I wanna kind of go Yeah.
- 19:11We went from morning to night.
- 19:13Yes.
- 19:13What's in between?
- 19:14Yep.
- 19:15Yes.
- 19:15So, quite often I have that, that questions people ask me if I purchase one product, what would that be?
- 19:21Or if I have a budget, what would that be?
- 19:23Um, my best purchase, it's serums again, it's a highly concentrated, active ingredient mm-hmm.
- 19:28That we customize depending, most of the serums.
- 19:30But now everyone loves peptides.
- 19:32Anti-aging serums, wave growth factors.
- 19:34Vitamin C serums for daytime.
- 19:37I personally believe it's an overhyped ingredient, but it's one of the most studied ingredients in the world of dermatology.
- 19:43So vitamin C would be in the morning and just customizing serums for eye, serums for face, serums for neck.
- 19:49And then how about moisturizer?
- 19:51Moisturizers are wonderful.
- 19:53They are occlusive, so they would seal everything in place.
- 19:56Right.
- 19:56Is there anything in between that, so it's, you wanna do your acids then your serums, right?
- 20:01Then your moisturizer?
- 20:02Or is there something in between?
- 20:03Yeah, so the perfect morning routine would be a milky cleanser.
- 20:06Okay.
- 20:06A very gentle, really liquidating cleanser.
- 20:08Mm-hmm.
- 20:09Would be an acid would be a good serum or combo of serums, a moisturizer and a sunscreen that you love.
- 20:14Okay.
- 20:14And another question that I receive quite often is.
- 20:17Good sunscreen.
- 20:18A good sunscreen.
- 20:19It's a sunscreen that you actually will fell in love and are committed to using.
- 20:23It can be medical grade, it can be a drugstore, it's just sunscreen.
- 20:28You do need to protect your skin from the sun, along with really good, nice hairs.
- 20:33And just being conscious and just being, just don't abuse yourself under the sun.
- 20:37And then a good nitro routine would be an enzyme cleanser would be a good serum.
- 20:42We'll skip the acids and it'll be retinoid with a really good occlusive moisturizer on.
- 20:47Okay.
- 20:47To go on the top, like you said, it seals it all in.
- 20:51I like to use Aquaphor on my face at nighttime.
- 20:55I look like a crazy person at nighttime.
- 20:57Maybe like, maybe ski my collar base.
- 20:59If someone with a large SIBO production would be too, it would be like clogging too heavy.
- 21:03Clogging.
- 21:04Yeah.
- 21:04I'm not the expert, I'm just sharing what I'm doing.
- 21:07It's okay.
- 21:08Don't do what I do as long as do what Olga tells you to do.
- 21:10It's okay.
- 21:11That is very, very helpful.
- 21:13So you give us this like luxury experience.
- 21:17These are European techniques.
- 21:18Talk, talk to us about this.
- 21:20Oh, it's a mixture.
- 21:20It's a mixture of techniques and, there's no protocol that will, uh, deliver the best results as a one standalone protocol.
- 21:27And I find mixing them just delivers by just knowing which protocol would benefit which person and which season in life would make, makes the biggest difference.
- 21:37So European techniques, it's lots of manual work.
- 21:40So we always start with manual work, so bringing that person into deep restorative calm state.
- 21:47We work half, so we work half face with mask.
- 21:50We work the other half of the face with mask, so we prepare the skin for the treatment itself.
- 21:55Mm-hmm.
- 21:55Quite often after an hour of.
- 21:57F the facial treatment.
- 21:59I, I tell the person only now we move into the treatment stage and they say, oh.
- 22:03What was it before we were preparing you for the treatment stage?
- 22:07You do so much prep and if, if anybody has not experienced one of Olga's facials, it's very labor intensive on you.
- 22:13It's very labor intensive and it really feels almost like a deep tissue massage for your face.
- 22:19It does.
- 22:19That's like the, that's the best way I can explain it, where it just feels like you're kind of.
- 22:23In every crevice of the face.
- 22:26Yes.
- 22:26We work with kind of fast muscle.
- 22:28Sometimes it's hard, sometimes it's soft.
- 22:29So it's just it's really like a mix.
- 22:31But it feels like a workout for your face almost.
- 22:34It is.
- 22:34And we start with slow movements.
- 22:36Mm-hmm.
- 22:36So lymphatic drainage mm-hmm.
- 22:37That, incorporates tage neck, uh, face and scalp quite often.
- 22:41I just open up the headband and I tell people the, the frontalis muscle, it's a huge muscle.
- 22:47It goes all the way into your scalp.
- 22:48And if I can work with it, the lift is unimaginable.
- 22:51Um, just working as a whole, it's not just the face lymphatic drainage.
- 22:55And then we work half face in the other half of the face.
- 22:58We prep the skin, we mask, and once we remove the mask, we move into devices and active ingredients, serums, and we mix the devices.
- 23:06There is not one device that I would always, it's always a mixture of devices.
- 23:10I don't think I've ever been to you and had the same treatment done.
- 23:13I feel like every time we come, we you always switch it up.
- 23:16True.
- 23:16You're like, well, also it's different times of the year too.
- 23:19Right?
- 23:19Very right.
- 23:19Maybe you can sense that I need something different today.
- 23:22Today we're working on, um, like toning and lifting this area this day.
- 23:27You really need good dehydration.
- 23:29Okay.
- 23:29We're working on your sun spots today.
- 23:31Yes.
- 23:31Like you always do something different every time.
- 23:34Yes.
- 23:34It's not just the same.
- 23:36One device and then you're out.
- 23:38No.
- 23:39And usually people quite often reach out to me and they say, which treatment should I book?
- 23:43It's hard for you to know what will benefit.
- 23:46And it's hard for me to know without seeing your skin, what you'll actually benefit the most.
- 23:50And it's a time-based treatment.
- 23:52If you have the time, will customize it.
- 23:54Mm-hmm.
- 23:54When I drive to work, I don't know which treatments I'm going to pick on today.
- 23:57So I have all the tools ready for my customers and we just customize it from there.
- 24:02And you do offer an express one too?
- 24:04Yes.
- 24:04'cause you gets that one done sometimes where it is just a little bit quick.
- 24:07But I do think that if you're trying to invest in yourself, this the way to go is just to go all in on it.
- 24:14Yes.
- 24:14And get the full, full experience.
- 24:16Yes.
- 24:16Because I do think it is just so helpful.
- 24:18I wanna talk about injectables because that is such a hot topic.
- 24:23And used to do that.
- 24:24Yes.
- 24:24So you can speak to both sides of it.
- 24:26Do you, you still offer them?
- 24:28No, I don't at this point.
- 24:29No.
- 24:30I used to And um.
- 24:3213 years in, in my nursing career, I was exposed to medical dermatology, invasive and noninvasive medical aesthetics, injectables and laser devices.
- 24:40Mm-hmm.
- 24:40They do each injectable and each device has, its own, need.
- 24:45So for example, injectables are there to paralyze a muscle and the muscle doesn't move any longer, therefore, doesn't cause a crease and a wrinkle.
- 24:52However, skincare altogether is the foundation.
- 24:55So injectables and good skincare goes hand in hand.
- 24:59Right.
- 24:59I know that you're not anti injectables.
- 25:01No, I'm not.
- 25:02Right.
- 25:02What you have told me is just that you can get a lot more kind of going the other way, right?
- 25:07Like if you're can can postpone.
- 25:08You can postpone.
- 25:09Yes.
- 25:09Right?
- 25:10Sure.
- 25:10You can postpone and I quite often, or maybe even compliment.
- 25:13Even compliment and I always tell people, I'll guide you.
- 25:16I will genuinely guide you on devices and injectables when the need is.
- 25:20Sometimes I work on the frontalis and I see the muscle just doesn't stop moving.
- 25:25It's, it's a genetic movement and I'm there pressing and I would just tell the person, you need to inject it.
- 25:30It's over functioning.
- 25:32So what I'm finding, so we're, I'm almost 40, I've been getting Botox for about a decade at this point.
- 25:40Obviously I know some of it's just aging.
- 25:42But I used to find that I could do Botox like once a year, and then I would start to have some movement.
- 25:49And now I'm finding that I feel like I can't even make it like two months before it feels like it's not working or I feel like it's something that I have to constantly keep up with and it's kind of going against what I wanna do with my body.
- 26:02So talk to us about that.
- 26:05Is that that too, or are you seeing that with some of your clients that are around our same age?
- 26:10I see.
- 26:10Yes.
- 26:10I see that a lot.
- 26:11People get addicted and they, and sometimes the neurotoxin doesn't perform as well.
- 26:16Yeah.
- 26:16As it used to be.
- 26:17They like to switch up the neurotoxin, or I quite often just.
- 26:22Genuinely recommend to go for facial treatments and use other devices.
- 26:26I like the Microcurrent.
- 26:27Mm-hmm.
- 26:28Does wonderful work.
- 26:28Is that the one that we did with the gloves?
- 26:30I posted this on my Instagram, I think I was like too nervous the first time when you did it.
- 26:34That's okay.
- 26:35Because I didn't know, like I thought I was getting shocked and Olga, no sweetie, you're not like it's, you're okay.
- 26:41And it was like, I feel like I'm getting shocked.
- 26:44She was like, just, she's like, stop moving.
- 26:48I'm going to make it so your forehead won't move for three months.
- 26:51That's amazing.
- 26:52But she put on these gloves and she connected it to the microcurrent and then she like worked the muscles and I truly could not move my forehead.
- 27:02For weeks.
- 27:03That's wild.
- 27:04And I did, I have Botox in here, but even with Botox, there's movement because I do like some movement.
- 27:09So yes, I do too.
- 27:10Cheryl does my Botox, so I guess now it's Dysport.
- 27:13She does it.
- 27:14Very light.
- 27:14Yep.
- 27:14Mm-hmm.
- 27:15Um, but this.
- 27:16Was such a nice compliment to that.
- 27:19And even sometimes, so let's say the muscle is paralyzed for a long period of time.
- 27:23Mm-hmm.
- 27:23It's good to go in there and wake them up Right.
- 27:25And bring circulation back.
- 27:27Oh, interesting.
- 27:27Ing and that doesn't interfere with the results.
- 27:30But this wonders to the muscle itself because the muscle is made to move.
- 27:33So you're giving, you're giving it a little bit of a break.
- 27:35Yes.
- 27:36Right.
- 27:36And kind of like helping it rework itself.
- 27:38Right.
- 27:38And then, then you can go back and get another injectable at another time.
- 27:41Yeah.
- 27:41I mean, it doesn't interfere with the timing of the injectable.
- 27:43It's there.
- 27:44But it does wonders too, the muscle and the health that's underneath our skin.
- 27:47That's really interesting.
- 27:48Wow.
- 27:49What about like facial, any type of like facial contouring?
- 27:52'cause you see like a lot of devices out there that'll make like your jaw line.
- 27:57Mm-hmm.
- 27:57More snatched or like pulled back or like tightening.
- 28:01What?
- 28:01I would be slightly reserved in terms of energy devices.
- 28:04Mm.
- 28:04They have caused so much damage.
- 28:06The jaw line and the double chin.
- 28:08Maybe it's okay risking, but those energy devices tend to melt, simply say.
- 28:14Melt facial fat.
- 28:15Mm.
- 28:15And facial fat is gold.
- 28:17We don't want to melt our apples of the chicks.
- 28:20We don't wanna melt under eye area because it's irreversible and there is no filler that can actually mimic our natural facial fat.
- 28:27Wow.
- 28:28Okay.
- 28:28I would be cautious.
- 28:29That's very, very good to know.
- 28:30Yes, I would be cautious.
- 28:31I would do my research.
- 28:33The jawline.
- 28:33It's okay.
- 28:34Even if we mo lose a little bit of fat, that's fine.
- 28:36But not temples and eye area.
- 28:38Okay.
- 28:38So what about then the opposite of that?
- 28:41What would be a treatment that would mimic what like filler would look like?
- 28:46Anything like with collagen, plump, right.
- 28:48That that would plump, yes.
- 28:49So simply lifting and sculpting and working with fascia to release tension by hand.
- 28:54Mm-hmm.
- 28:54Mm-hmm.
- 28:55And then microneedling gold, old classic microneedling.
- 28:58I cannot speak enough about it.
- 29:00It's an again.
- 29:01Time tested.
- 29:01Old treatment.
- 29:02I've never tried.
- 29:03I've never done that before.
- 29:04Have you?
- 29:04Yeah.
- 29:04'cause I've done PRP and that, so that's, it does work together with plasma.
- 29:08So talk to us about microneedling and then book me for it.
- 29:11Yes, for sure.
- 29:12For tomorrow, microneedling is one of the most time tested old classic treatment that works.
- 29:17So it's micro injuries.
- 29:18We customize the injury to your skin and through healing your skin will create its own collagen and become thicker over time.
- 29:25It's the golden standard for face, neck, for the area above the lip for eye area.
- 29:30From my per professional experience, because all these people can see my eye area feels creep and yeah.
- 29:36And it's not much you can do other than a good retinoid, a good serum, and that's all.
- 29:40And microneedling.
- 29:41So I customize the depth of the needle penetration and we can make it.
- 29:46Deeper, we can make it very light.
- 29:48Wonderful.
- 29:48It's only one day of downtime.
- 29:50It's very doable.
- 29:50People love it.
- 29:51Do you feel like the plasma, the PRP is necessary component of that?
- 29:55Or do you think it's just worthwhile to just do micro needle?
- 29:58That's when you take the blood.
- 29:59That's when you take the blood.
- 30:00Mm-hmm.
- 30:01We spin the blood and then we extract the plasma.
- 30:03Right.
- 30:03It does help with healing.
- 30:05With healing micro.
- 30:06And you do that too?
- 30:06I don't, because from my professional experience healing, it's not too bad.
- 30:10Okay.
- 30:10It doesn't enhance results.
- 30:12But healing overall is 24 hours and really good serum goes home with you.
- 30:17Very doable.
- 30:18Okay.
- 30:18So just kind of taking care of yourself.
- 30:20Mm-hmm.
- 30:20You can kind of gist yourself back on track and you don't need, I, one day of downtime is of too much anyway, so less than 24 hours.
- 30:25Okay.
- 30:26Now that's very good to know.
- 30:27How often can you do that?
- 30:29So depending on the depth of the penetration, usually it's free treatment.
- 30:33Mm-hmm.
- 30:33Per season.
- 30:34But I have met people that.
- 30:35Do it on a monthly basis, like ongoing.
- 30:37Very gently.
- 30:37Wow.
- 30:38Wonderful.
- 30:39I have met people, mature, mature ladies that have wonderful skin and many of them own other spas and sometimes I like to ask them the same questions from everything you've seen.
- 30:49Mm-hmm.
- 30:49What do you think performs the the most?
- 30:51And it's always microneedling.
- 30:53Wow.
- 30:53Even without serums, and this is something like you said, goes way, way back.
- 30:57This is not like new cutting edge technology.
- 30:59Not trendy.
- 30:59Right.
- 31:00This is a tried and true technique, right.
- 31:02It's very old, okay, we need to try this.
- 31:05Yes.
- 31:05I feel that my needling is very close to laser technology does the same thing.
- 31:09We cause micro injuries and through the injury he skin heals and just becomes better.
- 31:15Yeah.
- 31:15And when you're doing like filler injections, you're looking for that like plumper look.
- 31:20So if you do this over time, it will build collagen, which will give that to you on it own and it's very naturally I love that.
- 31:26You mentioned lasers, and I feel like lasers are another, I don't maybe wanna say trendy, but I feel like there's some of these lasers that the downtime just seems crazy.
- 31:36Like, I mean, people are Yes.
- 31:38The downtime down for the count for a week.
- 31:40Right.
- 31:40It right.
- 31:42I'm sure not all lasers are created equally either, right?
- 31:45That's right.
- 31:45I'm sure that's true too.
- 31:46Lasers do wonders.
- 31:48Mm-hmm.
- 31:48Um, so I'll go back to chemical peel.
- 31:50Chemical peel.
- 31:51Again, it's another old treatment that's time tested.
- 31:54Everyone loves it.
- 31:55Dermatologist, aesthetician, nurses and chemical peel are light and they're deep and they go on texture and pigment.
- 32:02And if chemical pills or series of chemical pills didn't help someone for pigment penetration, this is when we move into lasers.
- 32:11This is one I would look into laser.
- 32:12Oh, okay.
- 32:13I wouldn't do a laser before a really good chemical peel.
- 32:15Interesting.
- 32:16Okay.
- 32:16That's And how often can you do chemical peels?
- 32:19Depending if it's a light one, you can do as soon as every two weeks.
- 32:22It's a light and gentle exfoliating chemical peel or medium depth peel.
- 32:26I would do once a season or some skin types once a year.
- 32:29Okay.
- 32:30What was the one that you did on me and Christina most recently?
- 32:32Yes.
- 32:33Was a gentle one.
- 32:34Was it more gentle one?
- 32:35Yes.
- 32:35The medium one makes your skin peel for about seven days.
- 32:37Okay.
- 32:38Or more.
- 32:39Okay.
- 32:39Depending on the formula.
- 32:40So say that we have to move into lasers.
- 32:43Do you offer lasers?
- 32:44Not yet, but I'm looking to, okay.
- 32:46Gentle, uh, laser facials.
- 32:48Mm-hmm.
- 32:48Uh, lasers that again, do not take much of your downtime.
- 32:51Lasers that go well with your schedule.
- 32:53And light lasers, again, working on pigment and texture.
- 32:56Similar to microneedling, I just would like to target a little more pigment.
- 32:59Mm-hmm.
- 33:00That microneedling is not able to.
- 33:01And everyone has some form of sun damage.
- 33:03So when I think about sun damage, I think like, okay, so you're gonna do a laser and you're gonna have this like beautiful baby skin underneath what?
- 33:14It's happened to me before.
- 33:15I've done lasers.
- 33:16It gets hot out, my face hits the sun.
- 33:19Oh, it's back.
- 33:19Right.
- 33:20And everything is back, but back.
- 33:21Way worse.
- 33:22So what do you do in that case to prevent that from happening again, please?
- 33:26So, SPF would be one of the most important item and then a good exfoliating acid to keep it at bay because your skin is a baby skin, it's raw after the laser, so you need to take extra steps to care for, it's all coming back to just having the most consistent skincare routine It does, which is, is the first thing she wrote here.
- 33:44Yes.
- 33:45And like, bold put it like bold highlighted, like consistency.
- 33:49Yeah.
- 33:49Keeping you right, like knowing what works for your skin and then keeping consistent with that, right?
- 33:54Yes.
- 33:54But I think that's really refreshing to hear because I feel like, especially with social media, I'm sure you see you're in this like aesthetician world, I'm sure your algorithm is flooded with all of the, you know, new and improved types of, devices and treatments and all of that.
- 34:11And, and it could feel very overwhelming, especially as you're aging and you don't even know what to look for or what to ask for or what to do.
- 34:18Mm-hmm.
- 34:19And so I think that this.
- 34:22Reframe of keeping things simple, simple.
- 34:24And going back to the basics is so refreshing to hear in a world that just feels so overwhelming.
- 34:30It's very world overwhelming and the market is oversaturated.
- 34:34And I always tell my customers, and I've seen it from my professional standpoint, 80% of success, it's a home, ah, 80% of success happens at home.
- 34:43Mm-hmm.
- 34:43And 20% is treatments.
- 34:45I have met so many wonderful ladies that have very, they're very disciplined and they're strict home care regimens.
- 34:52Mm-hmm.
- 34:52And they come and the skin is wonderful and they are thinking about the device only out of curiosity.
- 34:58Like, don't need many enhance, maybe they don't need the device, but they might wanna try, but their skin is wonderful.
- 35:03Wow.
- 35:03Mature, mature, mature ladies.
- 35:05If you have somebody coming to you, I, like one of your girlfriends or one of your clients is saying, you, I always guide that I have a lower budget.
- 35:13I have a drugstore budget.
- 35:14Yes.
- 35:14Help guide me to find, yes.
- 35:16An enzyme, a serum.
- 35:19I do.
- 35:19Where would, is there anything that you could share with our listeners like that you like off?
- 35:24No, this is exactly what happened when my menu was changed.
- 35:27That's why I have multiple lines, high and lows, and I pick and choose, not the line, but actual the products.
- 35:33Oh, the products from the line that actually are really, really nice.
- 35:36And for the same reason, because I've met people of multiple budgets.
- 35:40Do we have any brands that you can share that you kind of like, or any products Just a few that yes, are like lower budget.
- 35:48Is clinical wonderful environment.
- 35:50It's my love.
- 35:51It's a very, uh, affordable line that does wonders for skin, face reality for their young skin.
- 35:56The V is another line, and then we'll move up if need be.
- 36:00What is like the step up?
- 36:02What are some lines from like the mid grade, mid?
- 36:04There is no mid grade.
- 36:06Maybe like mid Mid budget.
- 36:07Mid budget.
- 36:08Yeah.
- 36:08It's always the French line.
- 36:10They're the, this is my mother and the foundation of them all.
- 36:13So biological a chair and, okay.
- 36:17So French lines, German and Swiss.
- 36:20I always tell like my customers, if you're looking to stay where you are with your skin, that's fine.
- 36:24Laroche Poe will, will do wonders, will maintain, but will not bring a change.
- 36:29Okay.
- 36:30When it comes to skincare.
- 36:31Okay.
- 36:32So really these products are, you're looking to change and improve?
- 36:35Yes.
- 36:36Yeah.
- 36:36It won't bring a change.
- 36:38What I also love about you is you combine facial treatments with body treatments Yeah.
- 36:42With simultaneously, which is incredible, but why is that important to you?
- 36:47So most of my treatments are 60 minutes plus, and I've realized that people get tired.
- 36:51Their body hurts to stay in the same position for a long time, and I have dreamed and I found a massage therapist that can work from the tippy toes up to your scalp while I do my work and I work on your facial.
- 37:04You guys are like dancing around each other kind of, yeah.
- 37:07Yeah.
- 37:07So we work That's incredible.
- 37:08Four hands, we, we call it in four hands.
- 37:10It does wonders.
- 37:11It's, I think it's one of the most desired gift certificate in my case.
- 37:15Mm-hmm.
- 37:15People gift it a lot for their mothers, for their daughters wives.
- 37:19And then it's just a complete reset.
- 37:21I make, during my consultation, we decide on the facial treatment we are going to, perform on the customer and then she comes and she does her magic.

- 38:18This, what is it?
- 38:20Alite and it's one of, it's one of the I tools, Alite facial.
- 38:24Oh.
- 38:24So it's a tool?
- 38:25It's a tool part of a, a part of the red carpet facial every time when I see, um, my lovely customers, I pretend they go to a wedding.
- 38:33I pretend she's a bride, so she needs to leave out of that office.
- 38:37Beautiful, lifted and glowy and fresh and ionic, salate.
- 38:41It's one of the tools I use in combination with the lines with other devices, but it's very pleasant.
- 38:47It's oxygenating your skin.
- 38:48It's lifting.
- 38:49From the gentlest lymphatic, drainage to gentle exfoliation.
- 38:53It's a wonderful tool that I have not seen.
- 38:55I haven't seen it in the state of Connecticut.
- 38:57What does that like add to the.
- 38:59Treatment.
- 39:00Is it like a long treatment?
- 39:01It's the same 60, 90 minutes.
- 39:03It's customized.
- 39:04Sometimes I would use the whole device, sometimes I use just few functions of the device.
- 39:08Few modalities to enhance what hands cannot do.
- 39:12I feel like there's just so many beauty, buzzy things and we talked about just the algorithm just being flooded with all the latest and greatest skincare and there's just all of these things floating around.
- 39:25I wanna do a rapid fire segment where we ask you some of these things and you can just say it's do they work?
- 39:32Okay.
- 39:32Yes.
- 39:32No.
- 39:33Maybe, and you can give us a little spiel if, if it's necessary, but red light therapy masks at home.
- 39:40Yes.
- 39:41If consistent.
- 39:42If consistent.
- 39:42There's that word again, if consistent.
- 39:44Okay.
- 39:45I love that.
- 39:45What about face taping at night again?
- 39:48Yes.
- 39:49If consistent.
- 39:50Wow.
- 39:50Some areas frontal is, for example, so your forehead.
- 39:53Okay.
- 39:54So that that could work.
- 39:55Yes.
- 39:55Overnight.
- 39:55Wow.
- 39:56Okay.
- 39:56I love that.
- 39:57Yeah.
- 39:58Women love things that work overnight.
- 39:59Myself too.
- 40:00I do.
- 40:00We're busy moms.
- 40:01Yep.
- 40:02If I can do something and sleep, I am for it.
- 40:04That's why I go to bed looking like a crazy person because I'm trying to do all the things that we all do.
- 40:09And I have multiple serums actually that work overnight.
- 40:12Okay.
- 40:12I know if I miss a night for whatever reason, or like if we have like a late night out and I fall asleep, like with my makeup on, I'm like, I wasted a whole day.
- 40:21Oh my goodness.
- 40:22So true.
- 40:22What about gua and lymphatic drainage at home, if done correctly.
- 40:28That's why I created the master classes and I teach people how to incorporate ingredients and how to actually manipulate their tissue.
- 40:34We're gonna get back to that with the master classes in a minute.
- 40:37I know.
- 40:37Oh, that's really interesting.
- 40:39I feel like I need to learn the proper technique to know how to gua at home because I, well, we're gonna go to one of these classes.
- 40:44Women.
- 40:44Women love it.
- 40:45Okay.
- 40:46And then we'll report back PPAs.
- 40:48Okay.
- 40:48What about ice Rolling.
- 40:50Oh yes.
- 40:51Cryo everything cold.
- 40:52Okay.
- 40:52Do you have a ice roller that you like to use?
- 40:55I actually use a device called G Glassier.
- 40:57It's a cryo facial, and I work a lot with cold.
- 41:00If probably you've been in my room.
- 41:02Yeah.
- 41:02You've seen I don't work with, steamers and hot.
- 41:05Right, right.
- 41:05Everything that's cold and cooling.
- 41:06It's anti-inflammatory.
- 41:07It's anti-aging.
- 41:08Okay.
- 41:09And the device glassier, it's precise cooling device.
- 41:11You've tried it once.
- 41:12Mm-hmm.
- 41:12Mm-hmm.
- 41:13I love that.
- 41:13Cool, cool.
- 41:14I, it works actually on pigment inhibiting.
- 41:15Is that something that you can do at home too?
- 41:17Yes.
- 41:18If you, yes.
- 41:19Eye rollers.
- 41:19Yes.
- 41:20You keep them ins.
- 41:21Okay.
- 41:21Of course.
- 41:21Great.
- 41:22Okay.
- 41:22Okay.
- 41:23Collagen powders.
- 41:26Maybe.
- 41:27Maybe like the joints, but not for your skin.
- 41:29Yeah.
- 41:29Interesting.
- 41:30That's good.
- 41:30Well, no, because a lot of these things are geared towards hair, skin, and beauty, and people think, if they put scoops of collagen powder in their, I think the gastric juice from our stomach will just break it down.
- 41:41It doesn't necessarily reach our skin.
- 41:43Interesting.
- 41:44Maybe joints.
- 41:44Okay.
- 41:45Maybe joints.
- 41:45Okay.
- 41:46What about microcurrent devices at home?
- 41:48Again, if consistent.
- 41:49Okay.
- 41:5020 minutes every day.
- 41:51It's a long, it's a commitment.
- 41:53That is, that is a little bit, it's a, that's lengthy a day with the mask.
- 41:56I see it, uh, happening more often because women do something else while wearing the mask.
- 42:00Yes.
- 42:00That's, well that's why I love that.
- 42:01That's why I love my red light mask is that I can actually do something else while I'm doing it.
- 42:05Yes.
- 42:05But I do feel like if, to just have to stand there, that's why I get a little bit worried about the gua because it's like such, it's so many steps.
- 42:13Same.
- 42:13And I start to like, let it go.
- 42:16Like I have other things to do and then it's the last thing that I wanna do.
- 42:19Yes.
- 42:19And so I sometimes I feel like, kind of started us off by saying that in order for her treatments to be really effective, you have to get your body in this like, calm state.
- 42:27Mm-hmm.
- 42:27So some of these things, if you're wearing a mask while you're driving your kids to school, like is, is it even gonna work?
- 42:33True.
- 42:34Or is it gonna work at it?
- 42:35Or is it going to work at its best potential?
- 42:38Like some things I think like maybe it's just best for that room.
- 42:42Yeah.
- 42:42You know?
- 42:43Because I'm not relaxed when I'm home.
- 42:45Well, could you work, could red light therapy?
- 42:46I, what do you think?
- 42:48Usually I'm not doing anything that's like stressful.
- 42:50I'm usually like watching TV or trying, you know, feeding scroll on my phone.
- 42:53In a relaxed state.
- 42:54Yes.
- 42:54I am kind of in a chill state.
- 42:55Yeah.
- 42:55But what about, I'm assuming we're gonna know this answer, but medical grade skincare.
- 43:00Of course.
- 43:00Of course.
- 43:01Course, of course.
- 43:02Mm-hmm.
- 43:02Laser facials.
- 43:04Yes.
- 43:04You answered that.
- 43:05Okay.
- 43:06Gentle, we talked about this, the radio frequency microneedling.
- 43:10Yes, I have a personal story that goes back to radio frequency microneedling.
- 43:14In my twenties.
- 43:15I just went to a random spa.
- 43:16I was curious to try because somewhere again, I've heard online someone sweared by radio frequency microneedling.
- 43:23I had no need.
- 43:24And what it did, it melted my fat around my eyes and it caused wrinkles that never existed.
- 43:30What's been there?
- 43:30Oh wow.
- 43:31It's irreversible.
- 43:32One treatment caused me a loss of facial pad and since then I, I urge people that just be cautious.
- 43:40Just be cautious.
- 43:41So how did you reverse it back because you appeared?
- 43:43I haven't, I just learned to love my wrinkles.
- 43:45Oh, I can't eye wrinkles.
- 43:47Well, I can't see them from here.
- 43:48It's, I think that's actually really interesting and I know a lot of our listeners are in their thirties, forties, fifties, but I'm sure we have listeners in our twenties and then I'm sure we even have moms of teenage daughters who will eventually be in their twenties.
- 44:01And so I do think that that's a very important kind of.
- 44:06I don't wanna say like scare tactic, but, but just like I think sometimes back to like less is more again, back less is more.
- 44:13And I think skincare for kids and teenagers is just so buzzy right now.
- 44:18And I think it can probably get a little bit too, too aggressive.
- 44:20I have this for a popup shop right across the hall and my daughter's room, and they were getting things and I was like.
- 44:27This is gonna burn your skin.
- 44:28Like you don't need this.
- 44:29This is gonna burn your skin.
- 44:30You can't use this.
- 44:31And I actually let them use it and I let them burn their skin.
- 44:34I was like, they need to know because they're curious.
- 44:36Just like you were curious in your twenties.
- 44:38My right.
- 44:38It's like live and learn.
- 44:39They're curious.
- 44:40So sometimes you have to kind of almost let them make a mistake.
- 44:42But I try to have my message be like, all of this stuff is to enhance how pretty you are.
- 44:48You know, like we're not trying to like erase these wrinkles completely.
- 44:51Enhance, have a story.
- 44:52Every wrinkle has a story.
- 44:53And back to sun damage and back to dermatology.
- 44:56We used to say in medical dermatology, the skin never forgets where it has been.
- 45:00Mm.
- 45:00And childhood sunburns come up later in life.
- 45:03Mm-hmm.
- 45:03So as parents, we have full responsibility on caring for their skin.
- 45:07Okay.
- 45:07So then there you go.
- 45:08Yeah.
- 45:08So then SPF for your kids children should be like a non-negotiable.
- 45:11It should.
- 45:12Non-negotiable.
- 45:12Okay.
- 45:12So then.
- 45:13This is kind of very tied into what we were talking about, but this preventative Botox in your twenties, what do you think about that?
- 45:19It used to be trendy.
- 45:20Not anymore.
- 45:21Not anymore.
- 45:21So do you think it's necessary, or no?
- 45:23No, it's not necessary.
- 45:24So are you better off with a good skincare routine as a 20-year-old?
- 45:26I would do, if I was you, I would do Botox once a year.
- 45:29Okay.
- 45:29So I would paralyze a muscle and let it work.
- 45:31Again.
- 45:32Okay.
- 45:32I would Petly it and then let it work.
- 45:34In your twenties?
- 45:35No, in my thirties.
- 45:36In your In your thirties.
- 45:37Yes.
- 45:37So what do you say to somebody in their twenties?
- 45:39Absolutely not.
- 45:40Absolutely not.
- 45:41Okay.
- 45:41That's very, just have like a good facial routine here and there.
- 45:44Good skincare routine.
- 45:45Yes.
- 45:46So deserve your barrier.
- 45:46There you go.
- 45:47Girls, there is no need.
- 45:48I think that Botox for the first time at 31 I was 30.
- 45:52Yes.
- 45:52I was 30, I think at 31.
- 45:54Like really maybe a touch deep 11 here and here.
- 45:57Well,'cause they call, they say it as like preventative.
- 45:59So this is meaning before you have those things.
- 46:01Like I remember being in my twenties and I didn't have the lines on my face.
- 46:05I didn't get those until I was probably in my late twenties, early thirties where yes, if I was moving my face, I had, I had yes lines, but it what?
- 46:12They weren't there right.
- 46:14Until I was in my thirties.
- 46:15So I think this preventative thing is like for what?
- 46:18You know why?
- 46:19Right?
- 46:19Because I had like deep lines at rest and once I had the deep elevens at rest I was like, oh, I think it's time.
- 46:26It's time.
- 46:26Yes.
- 46:26So I remember I went to Dr.
- 46:27Schreiber in Bloomfield who was like an older plastic surgeon who was like super conservative with yes.
- 46:33Injectables.
- 46:34And.
- 46:35He had said to me like, this is not like a big deal.
- 46:38We'll put a little here and over the course of like the next year they'll soften.
- 46:42But like, you wanna be able to scrunch your nose and move your face.
- 46:46Right.
- 46:46And I respected the fact that like, he was my first sort of like, conservative experience going and getting it done.
- 46:52Yeah.
- 46:52And I don't have the many more.
- 46:54So I don't know if I would've needed preventative in my twenties, but it's fuzzy.
- 46:58It's out there, so, right.
- 46:59Yeah.
- 46:59But I'm just speaking from personal experience.
- 47:01I totally agree with you.
- 47:02Yep.
- 47:02I totally agree with you.
- 47:03What about peptides?
- 47:05Because that's super, I feel like that you're seeing that everywhere.
- 47:08Everybody, everyone's inject.
- 47:09I just listened to a whole podcast about PO peptides yesterday and how they're not FDA regulated right now.
- 47:16They're not.
- 47:17They're, they're busy.
- 47:18They're everywhere, but they're not regulated by the F fda, so you don't really know what you're getting.
- 47:23I would only do serums with good peptides.
- 47:26Okay.
- 47:26That's all.
- 47:26I wouldn't inject.
- 47:28Ingest.
- 47:29Okay.
- 47:29That's why we have proteins for amino acids.
- 47:32Okay.
- 47:32I would stay in there.
- 47:33Okay.
- 47:33Okay.
- 47:34That's good to know.
- 47:36Alright, so how about retinoids versus retinol?
- 47:39Retinoids?
- 47:39So retinol is a form of retinoid.
- 47:41So retinoid is the whole group.
- 47:43Okay.
- 47:43And they have different derivatives of retinol, retinol, retinol, retinoid and iso retinoid.
- 47:49That's the pill version for someone with cystic acne.
- 47:53It's just from consistency, again, coming back to retinoids, consistency beats formula.
- 47:59So consistency, a lower dose.
- 48:02Brings a more change than a higher dose.
- 48:04Okay.
- 48:04So every day retinol, it's better than once a week strong retinol.
- 48:08Interesting.
- 48:09That could bring an example.
- 48:10Yeah.
- 48:10No, that's a great example.
- 48:11That's really helpful.
- 48:12What should Christina and I be using for a retinoid tonight before we go to bed?
- 48:16The environment night environment.
- 48:18The environment night.
- 48:19We need to, I don't have that off together from you.
- 48:21Yeah.
- 48:21Yeah.
- 48:22Um, okay.
- 48:23Chemical peels.
- 48:24Yes.
- 48:24Lovely love.
- 48:25Lovely.
- 48:25Okay.
- 48:26They bring so much change.
- 48:27People love it.
- 48:28Dermatologists love it.
- 48:29We love it as professionals.
- 48:30Light and medium again depth of chemical peels.
- 48:34What they do is very remove a layer.
- 48:36Of the, your skin and light pills do it gently without visible changes.
- 48:40And medium depth pills make you just hide for about seven days from sun, from public, um, because your skin would just fall and you have to slightly cut the axis.
- 48:51That gives me, that always reminds me of Samantha, but in the But bigger change.
- 48:54It's a bigger change.
- 48:55Yeah.
- 48:55It's bright, it's luminous.
- 48:56Right.
- 48:57It's beautiful.
- 48:57So, so you would say that that's worth the downtime?
- 49:00It's worth the downtime.
- 49:00Okay.
- 49:01Once the season, so now it's the season.
- 49:02Once the season.
- 49:03Now it's the season.
- 49:03So you have to go away, you have to hide in your house for four weeks a year.
- 49:07We wear a little mask or we do, but we do have to hide.
- 49:09I just.
- 49:10I have such a fear of like, scarring my children.
- 49:13Like I I, I get the visual of, I get the visual of Samantha Jones in sex in the city with the chemical feel where she's like, can you separate feel?
- 49:21And my publicist like, that's how I feel.
- 49:24I'm so afraid to like, have my face peel off in my house and my kids are gonna be like, what are you doing?
- 49:29And know was the snake walking around?
- 49:31What about, you answered this before, but vitamin C.
- 49:34Yes.
- 49:34You said it was ki you kind of said it was like a little like, eh, it's one of the most o most studied ingredient, right.
- 49:39In dermatology.
- 49:40It's an antiox.
- 49:41It's a good thing.
- 49:42It's a good thing.
- 49:42But there are many other things that are not as studied and have seen them perform just as well.
- 49:47Oh, okay.
- 49:48That's it.
- 49:48And then derma planning, do you offer that?
- 49:51I have love and hated relationship with der derma planning.
- 49:54Yes.
- 49:54So at home derma planning?
- 49:56No, for sure.
- 49:57An office by someone with a sterile scalpel.
- 49:59Mm-hmm.
- 50:00Yes.
- 50:00For the right.
- 50:01For the right patient.
- 50:03People overdo it.
- 50:04People run into skin sensitivities and then they just remove their own skin barrier when there's no need.
- 50:12Okay.
- 50:12That's very interesting.
- 50:13And I also feel like there is a little bit of a difference between at-home derma planning and then in a treatment sort, like a, in treatment treatment sort of derm dermaplaning.
- 50:24I feel like when I derma plan at home, it really is to remove the peach fuzz and not to like remove the layer of the skin.
- 50:31I feel like when you do it as a treatment True.
- 50:33It really, it's more of an exfoliation.
- 50:36True.
- 50:36And I feel like at home it's just to sort of like smooth out the face.
- 50:39Yes.
- 50:39And like have ev your makeup go on smoother.
- 50:41I think that there's a little bit, like, I don't even know if they should be called the same thing.
- 50:44'cause I feel like dermaplaning is like in intense, it's a instead scalpel.
- 50:48It's a, it's a spel scalpel and it's definitely deep.
- 50:51And people often, if it's just done unproperly, they break out.
- 50:54Right.
- 50:55And, and it takes time to rebuild that barrier.
- 50:58Okay.
- 50:58So I think the ones at home are like, so this like you using your husband's razor in the shower, that's not, well I even have the, I have the electric one, but it really just takes off.
- 51:06It's not like really touching your skin.
- 51:08It's just kind of like peach fuzz.
- 51:09Yes.
- 51:10It's taking off the peach fuzz peach Fs, which I do believe in that.
- 51:12'cause I feel like that helps with, it does skincare, ab absorption sounds.
- 51:15So we have two, so we have at home.
- 51:17Yeah.
- 51:18You like I don't, you don't, you don't like the one at home either.
- 51:22Okay.
- 51:22No, I, I mean because you have good skin and you don't have your barrier is strong, but someone with occasional pimples, if they do that at home, they just, they would break out even more.
- 51:31Oh, okay.
- 51:32Too risky.
- 51:33It sounds like some of these things you worry that they could call it damage much.
- 51:36Yes.
- 51:37Sure.
- 51:37Interesting.
- 51:38Right.
- 51:38Okay.
- 51:39So we're gonna end with what makes the biggest difference that most women are ignoring.
- 51:44Just loving themself as they are.
- 51:46And just not to being too harsh on themself.
- 51:49And again, less is more.
- 51:51Less is more.
- 51:51I think that is I love it.
- 51:53You, that's the message built something that gives women access to the highest level of skincare.
- 51:58And you are right here in West Hartford, Connecticut.
- 52:00Thank you.
- 52:01How lucky are we to have you here?
- 52:02Thank you.
- 52:03And also like, thank you for sharing your knowledge with all of our listeners.
- 52:07Thank you.
- 52:07It's very genuine.
- 52:08And thank you.
- 52:10Okay, so we can't let you out of the seat without our closing segment, which is our pink spotlight.
- 52:15It's our person, place thing, tip, mantra, anything that's making life a little bit better this week for t and i or anything that you wanna share.
- 52:23Do you wanna go first or do you want us to go first?
- 52:25Maybe you go first.
- 52:26Okay.
- 52:27T, do you have one this week?
- 52:29You better?
- 52:30I do.
- 52:30I, I do.
- 52:31So I make banana bread for my kids every morning.
- 52:34I can vouch for this.
- 52:35I make a banana bread every day.
- 52:36Yeah.
- 52:36And I always like change it up.
- 52:38Like sometimes I do it with like oats and almond flour.
- 52:41Yeah.
- 52:41Sometimes I just do it with like bananas and peanut butter.
- 52:44Sometimes I do it with like the Trader Joe's one.
- 52:47My kids' favorite banana bread mix is when I do it with the simple Mills one.
- 52:52It is so good.
- 52:53It is delicious.
- 52:54I just made one for like boxed banana bread.
- 52:56Right.
- 52:56It's so good.
- 52:57But you have to tell.
- 52:57But I doctor it up a little bit.
- 52:59You did.
- 52:59I never follow the rest.
- 53:00Actually.
- 53:00My girlfriend Chrissy will, tells this story about how when I went to her house one day and I was helping her prepare for a party'cause she was on crutches and I was like, I'll maybe she was hosting book club that night and I was like, I'll come over and I'll help you cook.
- 53:13So never ask me to do that, by the way.
- 53:15Unless you want, if you want things done your way.
- 53:17'cause when I come into a kitchen, I just do things my way.
- 53:21I was making the banana bread and she was getting mad at me'cause I wasn't following the directions.
- 53:25No, you never do.
- 53:25I feel like, because I never follow a direction.
- 53:27Yeah.
- 53:27But that night when she served the banana bread, everybody was like, this is so good, Chrissy.
- 53:31Is this your recipe?
- 53:32And I was like, well it is.
- 53:33But it was the tea version of it.
- 53:35I know.
- 53:35But you like have this way of like, you take like something boxed and then you don't follow the directions on the back.
- 53:40Never.
- 53:40But you somehow make it even better.
- 53:42So, right.
- 53:42So I add, so the box I think calls for like a half a couple oil, some water, two eggs.
- 53:48But it doesn't ask for you to add bananas.
- 53:50I'm like, but it's banana bread.
- 53:52So I do the box and then I add bananas.
- 53:55I see you did four bananas.
- 53:56I I did four bananas.
- 53:57I asked her,'cause I ate them to when I came in the house.
- 53:59And we always have like a ton of bananas in this house.
- 54:01'cause everybody's bananas.
- 54:02Yep.
- 54:03Like everybody's bananas.
- 54:04Everybody, it's like the one food, all six of us like to eat.
- 54:08I added eggs.
- 54:09I added like a little bit of cinnamon and then I actually threw in two servings of protein powder.
- 54:14This like vanilla whe protein powder.
- 54:15And I mixed it all up and then I just threw in chocolate chips.
- 54:18It was so good.
- 54:20Delicious.
- 54:21And I put'em in like the little muffin tins.
- 54:22But if I make a banana bread every morning, no, I'm gonna try.
- 54:25No, literally.
- 54:25And it's, and it's gone.
- 54:27When the kids leave for school, like the banana bread is gone.
- 54:30It's, and it's something that you, I feel like you could have that as a breakfast, as a snack, as like a tree at night.
- 54:35It was so good.
- 54:36Like, I'm not even joking.
- 54:37It's delicious.
- 54:37It's a simple Mills brand is so great and I wanna say the box is like around 10, like retail is like around 10 or$11.
- 54:44So every time it's on sale, like Target or Whole Foods or Amazon, I always like stock up.
- 54:49So I'm actually, I just made my last, I have like one box left.
- 54:52I need to.
- 54:53Was so good.
- 54:53We stuck.
- 54:54But I think you can turn a box of anything into something delicious if you just like, you need to add a few things, doctor it up a little bit.
- 55:01Yep.
- 55:02I loved it.
- 55:03It was delicious.
- 55:03I'm gonna probably be taking that I had chocolate on my face before we started.
- 55:06I did.
- 55:07I like tea.
- 55:07You have chocolate on your face.
- 55:08The evidence is there that we, I probably did too.
- 55:11'cause I, I had one and I I will be taking some to go.
- 55:14Yeah, yeah.
- 55:15Take some muffins to go.
- 55:16They're great.
- 55:16They're like a great little treat.
- 55:18I love them.
- 55:18That was, that was such a good one.
- 55:19So mine this week is a repeat.
- 55:22Mine is my reformer machine because I've had it for five months and I shared this, I think right when I got it and I just love it.
- 55:31So it's my Pilates reformer machine at home.
- 55:33Now it's even a better time to share it because now you've been using it now for five months now.
- 55:37I've been using it consistently for five months.
- 55:38I also am still using Leah's Pilates app, which.
- 55:42Leah Elli, who we've had on the podcast before, launched her own Pilates reformer app.
- 55:47She does have MAT classes too, but I'm using those consistently and I just have to say that if you're a busy mom, and I know it's so important, I feel like we put a lot of pressure on ourselves to be like, I know, but it's great to have the social aspect of going to classes and I get that.
- 56:03But like at some seasons of your life, it just does not make sense to have that weight on you.
- 56:08And this is such a better option if you have this space and you can like invest in something and you know that you like to do it.
- 56:14I feel like you have to take away that.
- 56:17Oh, but then I'm not getting out of the house.
- 56:19And it's like, just'cause you had even said, Olga said how important like consistent movement is.
- 56:24Yes.
- 56:24And if you can actually do it consistently, enjoy it and enjoy it.
- 56:28And it also removes the stress out of it from my life.
- 56:31So then it's gonna be affected.
- 56:33Then it's an you go to a class all frazzled.
- 56:36Yes.
- 56:36Or you supposed to like activate your muscles.
- 56:38Yeah.
- 56:38Or, or you're like, oh, I had to come'cause I couldn't move this or I was gonna lose the class.
- 56:43And like there, I do agree.
- 56:44Like if you're in this period of your life where like getting out to a workout class makes sense for you, go do it.
- 56:50But if you can't, I think it's so great to invest in absolutely it yourself.
- 56:55Like bring it home and then have it be consistent.
- 56:58And that's what I've been doing the last five months and it's so helpful for me.
- 57:02And so I always say that I am somebody that puts working out at the bottom of the list.
- 57:07Like if I have other things to do, I put it at the bottom.
- 57:10But since I know this is in my house.
- 57:13And I have an app on demand and I'm not worrying about a schedule.
- 57:17I, I can fit it in really at any time.
- 57:20And it's, I think that that consistency has changed it for me, just like knowing that I have access to it at all times.
- 57:26So I have to just shout that out again and I'll leave the link to my reformer.
- 57:31'cause I ordered one specifically that Leah recommended for at home.
- 57:35'cause you can get a bunch of different ones.
- 57:36She actually explained,'cause I see these floating around and I just did wanna say this.
- 57:40You see reformer machines that are like on Amazon or, for, for cheap.
- 57:45Yeah.
- 57:45And she said that yes you can get a reformer, but you're worried about the quality of the movement and how important it is that things go smoothly because you can hurt yourself if the springs aren't correct.
- 57:58If the mechanics aren't correct and you're moving and pushing against too much tension.
- 58:03She was saying that you really do wanna buy it from someone reputable.
- 58:06And so I ended up purchasing it with where, the place that she purchased one from.
- 58:11So it's reputable, you know, that you're not getting her, you know it's correct.
- 58:14And you have her guiding you through these exercises.
- 58:17And I have, and then I, I, I love her app so much and she has a lot of food adding to it.
- 58:21She has a lot of food and, um, nutrition and ingredients on her app too, which is great too.
- 58:26So her subscription is.
- 58:28Wonderful.
- 58:28She, there's so many classes, there's mat classes if you don't wanna do reform or classes or if you don't have, have one.
- 58:33Yep.
- 58:34Or if you're traveling.
- 58:35Yeah.
- 58:35And you know, so I just wanted to shout that out'cause it's been five months and I can say that it's probably been the most consistent thing that I've done exercise-wise.
- 58:42Do you feel like your strength is getting?
- 58:44I do.
- 58:44And it's, I just also feel like the stress of like not having to go out, I didn't realize how much that was affecting me.
- 58:51You know, like of like, oh, I have to go to the workout class'cause it's better for me mentally.
- 58:56No, this is, the consistency is what's better for me mentally.
- 58:59When do you find it's best to get downstairs?
- 59:01So I try, I, I used to say I love to wake up before the kids and get the workout done, but that liter, it's a joke in my house.
- 59:06It's like if I open my eyeballs, my daughter wakes up, so I can't, so that would also, like, I know I used to find that happen a lot too.
- 59:13Yeah.
- 59:13It's so, I, I actually find it's when my.
- 59:16Usually when my nanny gets to my house, I'm able to sneak down.
- 59:20I do like a half an hour.
- 59:22I don't do anything crazy and and then I'm done.
- 59:25So it's, I'm usually like done by nine 30 and then I can start my work day.
- 59:28So that's kind of how I've been working it out.
- 59:30And if it doesn't work out, then I go down before she leaves.
- 59:34Right.
- 59:34You know, it's kind of like I'll get my work done and then I'll run down the last half an hour before she leaves.
- 59:39Like it, you just have to do it when you have to do it.
- 59:40Yeah.
- 59:41Good.
- 59:42I'm glad.
- 59:42Perfect.
- 59:43And my um, uh, spotlight this week would be, again, going back to consistency.
- 59:47Mm-hmm.
- 59:48I was speaking to a European uh, masters in my field and we're talking about Microcurrent again, and they said, okay, you need to do it every two weeks to see consistency.
- 59:57I wasn't doing it every two weeks.
- 59:59And I told myself, and I started two weeks ago doing it this week.
- 1:00:02That's wonders.
- 1:00:03And that's like the glove microcurrent?
- 1:00:06Yes.
- 1:00:06Yes.
- 1:00:06Okay.
- 1:00:07And you do it on yourself?
- 1:00:08Yes.
- 1:00:09Oh my.
- 1:00:09Even though I wasn't consistent, I was never every two weeks and didn't know.
- 1:00:12Is, is this something that you could do at home?
- 1:00:14Yes.
- 1:00:14Yes.
- 1:00:14With a new face.
- 1:00:15With a new face, yes.
- 1:00:16Okay.
- 1:00:16That's a good brand to do it.
- 1:00:18That's okay.
- 1:00:18That's good.
- 1:00:18I do have that.
- 1:00:19And I do think it's like something I don't explain, act it out for our listeners.
- 1:00:22Like what is this?
- 1:00:23Yes.
- 1:00:23Explain a little bit about Microcurrent is, we talked a little bit about it, but it's electrical, puling, stimulation, pulsing on the muscle.
- 1:00:30Yeah.
- 1:00:30I think the at home devices are much lighter than the one.
- 1:00:33Yes.
- 1:00:33Um, professional ones, but they work on stimulating the mu, it's just, just like an workout for the face.
- 1:00:38Okay.
- 1:00:39Okay.
- 1:00:39And do you feel like it does help with the tightening, the jaw, the cheekbones, the cheekbones, cheekbones get lifted and everything gets lifted.
- 1:00:44Does it help with the jaw too?
- 1:00:46It does.
- 1:00:46It does?
- 1:00:46Yes.
- 1:00:47Okay.
- 1:00:47Okay.
- 1:00:48If you were to come in to see you, how would you, how would that differ?
- 1:00:52Like the technique differ than what like Christina has at home?
- 1:00:55At home settings?
- 1:00:55The settings our microcurrent is much stronger.
- 1:00:58Mm-hmm.
- 1:00:58Works deeper and it's in levels.
- 1:01:00If you remember, we have level one, level two, and level three.
- 1:01:02At home.
- 1:01:03It's, it's dangerous to have such devices at home.
- 1:01:05Right.
- 1:01:06Of course.
- 1:01:07Okay.
- 1:01:07So your device at home, are you like moving your hands to these motions?
- 1:01:10Well, I'm doing, to her point, I'm not doing it consistent enough.
- 1:01:12I mean, again, that has to be consistent.
- 1:01:14I think that pre-kids, yeah, when I had all the time in the world now I think of like my preki self, and I'm like, that girl was on vacation All the freaking time.
- 1:01:21But like, I'm not now.
- 1:01:23So having to stand there, having, when I always feel like I could be doing a hundred, it's not a priority.
- 1:01:28It's not, it's not a priority.
- 1:01:29It's not priority.
- 1:01:30So it's hard to stay consistent with something like that.
- 1:01:32Yeah.
- 1:01:32But you're saying that it's worth it.
- 1:01:34And so Of course then I'll do it if it's worth it.
- 1:01:37I think realistically for me, what I take away from this conversation is I'm going to be very strategic in the skincare routine.
- 1:01:45Mm-hmm.
- 1:01:45And making sure that I fill all of these buckets.
- 1:01:48So I'm gonna start with an acid, then I'm gonna have a serum, and then I'm gonna end with an enzyme and a retinol or retinoid.
- 1:01:54That's all.
- 1:01:55And then I'm gonna come see you once a month for you to do the other things.
- 1:01:58Then you realistic your injectables every once in, in a while, realistically.
- 1:02:00Yep.
- 1:02:01I can't see myself incorporating like modality at home.
- 1:02:04Like I can't see myself derma, like I forget to wear my Invisalign.
- 1:02:08I don't think I can, I can remember to do know.
- 1:02:10I know it's, it's not, like you mentioned not a priority and it's a commit.
- 1:02:14And it brings more stress.
- 1:02:15It does.
- 1:02:16So just having another thing to do.
- 1:02:17Yes.
- 1:02:18And then you feel like you feel like a failure when you don't stay consistent with things.
- 1:02:21So I, I do agree with you that I think that sometimes it's better to just make the investment and have an appointment to go to.
- 1:02:28And you know you're gonna go to that and you're like, probably worth, it's probably more worthwhile.
- 1:02:31You're coming to my bathroom before you leave and you're gonna leave it all out for me.
- 1:02:35And you're gonna, or if there's something that I need to get, then I'm gonna come, I would like to look into and I'm gonna pick it up from you later.
- 1:02:40We'll film it.
- 1:02:41I'll put it on our Oh, I love that.
- 1:02:42That's a good idea.
- 1:02:43And then you'll have to come to my house.
- 1:02:45Yeah.
- 1:02:45I've met few women that are just, lazy would be a nice word.
- 1:02:49I, I, I always tell me you need that toner.
- 1:02:51The change.
- 1:02:52It won't happen.
- 1:02:52Your pos are too large.
- 1:02:54Oh, we didn't even talk about the toner today.
- 1:02:56Didn't talk about toner.
- 1:02:56When does the toner happen?
- 1:02:58Toners, toner, toners.
- 1:03:00Oh, okay.
- 1:03:00So toner is alright.
- 1:03:01So we did, we just all, there's so many names, but she says I'm too lazy.
- 1:03:05I better come every Saturday.
- 1:03:06And she comes every Saturday.
- 1:03:09Wow.
- 1:03:10Yes.
- 1:03:11Well, that's great.
- 1:03:12That's great for you.
- 1:03:12But I think it's to, to your point, I think a lot, I, I loved that.
- 1:03:15I feel like that 80% of it can be done at home.
- 1:03:19It's simple.
- 1:03:20Just so refreshing to hear.
- 1:03:21So I think that that's so great.
- 1:03:23And it doesn't have to be the highest, most expensive Highend skincare.
- 1:03:27Mm-hmm.
- 1:03:27Some of those products are much better because they resource so af not, I just disclose for example, Mont, they have the Swiss ops and they collect their plants.
