- 0:00Welcome to Dubai Energy News. Dubai Electricity
- 0:04and Water Authority has increased the 2030 capacity
- 0:08target of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum
- 0:11solar park by 60%. The flagship project is the
- 0:15world's largest single -site solar park. A recent
- 0:19report revealed that global renewable energy
- 0:22surged to 582 gigawatts in 2024. including 452
- 0:28gigawatts from solar. His Excellency Saeed Mohammed
- 0:31Ad -Taya, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai
- 0:35Electricity and Water Authority, said, In line
- 0:39with the vision and directives of His Highness
- 0:42Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President

- 0:49bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime
- 0:53Minister of the UAE, and ruler of Dubai. We continue
- 0:58to consolidate the UAE's leading position in
- 1:02clean and renewable energy. The Mohammed bin
- 1:05Rashid Al Maktoum solar park is a global model
- 1:09for sustainable infrastructure projects and for
- 1:12anticipating the future of the energy sector
- 1:14within an integrated system that reinforces Dubai's
- 1:18pioneering role in a green economy that is based
- 1:22on knowledge and innovation. The solar park's
- 1:25total production capacity has reached 3 ,860
- 1:30megawatts. By 2030, its total capacity will exceed
- 1:358 ,000 megawatts compared to the original plan
- 1:39of 5 ,000 megawatts. The share of clean energy
- 1:43now exceeds 21 .5 % of Dubai Electricity and
- 1:48Water Authority's total capacity. By 2030, it
- 1:53will reach 36 % compared to 25 % in the original
- 1:57plan, reducing over 8 .5 million tonnes of carbon
- 2:02emissions annually. His Excellency Etayar added,
- 2:07The solar park supports the UAE Net Zero by 2050
- 2:11strategic initiative, the Dubai Clean Energy
- 2:14Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions
- 2:19Strategy 2050. which aim to ensure 100 % of Dubai's
- 2:24energy production capacity is from clean sources
- 2:28by 2050. We implement the solar park's projects
- 2:32in collaboration with the private sector through
- 2:35the independent power producer model, a pioneering
- 2:38approach that embodies the integration of government
- 2:41vision, technological innovation and investment
- 2:45efficiency. These partnerships highlight Dubai's
- 2:49flexibility in adopting innovative financing
- 2:51and operational models that accelerate the transition
- 2:55to renewable energy sources. They also demonstrate
- 2:59the ability to achieve a balance between economic
- 3:02efficiency and environmental sustainability.
- 3:05By adopting advanced technologies, including
- 3:09artificial intelligence, in the solar parks projects,
- 3:13We have doubled the efficiency of photovoltaic
- 3:16panels from 11 % to 24%, increasing production
- 3:21without the need for additional land. A remarkable
- 3:24achievement, reinforcing Dubai's global leadership
- 3:27in renewable energy. Thank you for joining us.
