- 0:15Welcome aboard to America's Navy, peace through strength.
- 0:19Thank you for joining me, ladies and gentlemen.
- 0:22I am Lieutenant Commander Stephen Rogers, United States Navy retired.
- 0:26This program is presented by the Association of the United States Navy, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting U.S.
- 0:34Naval and U.S.
- 0:35Coast Guard power and operations worldwide, as well as all personnel who are serving.
- 0:41And may I add, we even support their families.
- 0:45The topics addressed on this program reflect only the perspectives presented by the Association of the United States Navy.
- 0:53And I want to thank you all for giving me the opportunity to share some very important information, I believe that you should be aware of, a lot of information that the mainstream media and other news outlets dare not share with you.
- 1:07But we here at America Out Loud News take the time to do some research to try to filter out the false narratives that we hear constantly day in and day out and bring to you facts.
- 1:19And here we go, folks.
- 1:20We focus on this broadcast, we focus on the United States Navy, the Coast Guard, and from time to time other branches of the United States Armed Forces from a positive, supportive perspective.
- 1:33Because we have a lot to be thankful for when it comes to the United States Navy, the Marines, the Air Force, the Space Force, and the Army, and of course the United States Coast Guard.
- 1:45Now, I've received valuable, I mean, really valuable feedback from our listeners, and I want to thank you for taking the time of emailing me and providing me with valuable insight into public sentiment regarding recent events involving America's Navy and other branches of the United States Armed Forces, especially during this time of war.
- 2:07Again, I emphasize over and over again that those of us who are being inundated with a lot of news from the mainstream media and news outlets that are not necessarily in supportive of what we're doing with regard to the war of Iran, uh, somehow, some way it has to be counteracted.
- 2:26And we are being uh the the tool, if you will, the influence that will counteract a lot of the negative stuff that's being brought to our attention, whether it be on the mainstream media, airwaves, TV, radio, etc., and the live streams and recorder streams that we get throughout the Internet.
- 2:45And by the way, uh, the uh Iranian government, the Chinese government, the Russians, and other people who simply hate America, uh, I'm not talking about the people now, I'm talking about their leaders.
- 2:58Just so happens that the people in those countries uh have expressed great admiration for the United States and still look at us, the United States of America, as a beacon of hope.
- 3:10And we have to keep that in mind uh every single time that we are addressing issues with regard to whether we are still the forerunners and the front runners, if you will, of bringing liberty, peace, and justice worldwide, or if uh the way the mainstream media these days have uh seen it and broadcasted about it, with the help, by the way, of a lot of American citizens who have gotten on the airwaves, and I'll touch upon that in a in a minute or two, doing their bidding.
- 3:40What is their bidding?
- 3:42Well, let's do everything we could to uh question the United States Navy, the United States military as a whole, and of course the policies of our present administration.
- 3:52They do that a lot, folks.
- 3:53You know they do that a lot.
- 3:54So we're gonna counteract that by bringing uh truth and facts to the American people.
- 3:59And in addition to that, knowing that our enemies are listening to everything we say, we, I mean not only this broadcast, but broadcast nationwide, they pick up everything we say, everything we do, they hear everything, they see a lot of division being created by the mainstream media and those who wish to go on the airwaves with the mainstream media as their talking heads.
- 4:25You know what a talking head is, right?
- 4:27That's a guest who's invited on a TV news network panel to do their bidding.
- 4:34And believe me, uh as I will articulate a little bit better later on in this broadcast, it simply makes me sick, especially when those who are doing the bidding are retired U.S.
- 4:45military personnel in very, very high-ranking leadership positions.
- 4:53And and that is that is what has to be addressed.
- 4:57And that's what we address here at America Out Loud News through Peace Through Strength, America's Navy.
- 5:04So, in addition to the feedback from listeners, and like I've shared with you, I get a lot of them now.
- 5:10I regularly make an effort to visit a lot of people around this country.
- 5:14I visit them through my uh trips that I travel around uh in my capacity as executive director of the AUSN.
- 5:22My wife and I do a lot of traveling around to meet certain people at certain places at certain times.
- 5:28She's been a great help, a tremendous support of our efforts here at the AUSN in promoting the goodwill of our country, because that's all we promote.
- 5:38That's all we support as a nation, goodwill.
- 5:41And those who want to argue that point with me, be my guests.
- 5:45Come on this broadcast.
- 5:46We're the country that everyone looks for when there is a natural disasters all over the world.
- 5:52We're the country that spends more time in giving more of our heart, soul, and spirit to those in need worldwide than any other nation.
- 6:01We are the country that has spilled more blood on every piece of real estate across this planet than any other nation in the history of mankind.
- 6:13That's who we are.
- 6:15And that's who we support, and will forever support our nation, our Navy, our Army, Marines, Air Force, Space Force, and Coast Guard.
- 6:24That's right.
- 6:25We're proud to be Americans.
- 6:27Nobody is ever going to take that away from us.
- 6:31So why do I go out there?
- 6:32People ask me, well, you know, you're kind of uh in an executive position.
- 6:36You could have others go out there.
- 6:37Uh they could get that information for you.
- 6:40They could do that research for you.
- 6:41So uh some people, to my uh kind of surprise, have told me that uh not too many people, at least in their view, are getting off of their leather chairs and going out into the field and actually talking to people uh all over the country.
- 6:56Well, I can't answer for anybody else.
- 6:58I can only answer for myself.
- 7:00And what I've learned years ago, years ago, by studying, get a load of this, folks, by studying President Abraham Lincoln's leadership principles, I decided that uh I was going to do my part as a leader of a of a nationwide, perhaps a worldwide organization now, the Association of the United States Navy, and strengthening not only our organization, but strengthening the will of the American people, the faith of the American people, and by far the strength of the United States Navy Coast Guard, and as a result of that, uh what we're doing with those two branches of the military, which is our mission.
- 7:40Uh, we're certainly assisting the other branches of the United States and military.
- 7:44So, what is it that Lincoln did that caught my eye that caught my attention?
- 7:48He used to meet with his generals.
- 7:50He met with all his generals regularly.
- 7:52He wanted updates on the war.
- 7:54He wants to know how was the civil war going from their perspective.
- 7:59Every meeting Lincoln had, the reports were very positive, we're very good, Mr.
- 8:04President.
- 8:04We're doing well, the troops are being well fed, they're happy, their morale is up, we're winning this war.
- 8:11And that's what the president received from his generals.
- 8:15All individuals who brought forth from the battlefield those very positive reports to lift up perhaps the morale and to encourage President Abraham Lincoln.
- 8:27But he was a very smart leader.
- 8:29So he decided a few times to visit the trenches himself where the foot soldiers are.
- 8:36And he decided to speak to them directly with the troops and obtain their perspective on the state of the Civil War.
- 8:46Well, what did he discover, folks?
- 8:50The evaluations from the generals differed from that of the troops.
- 8:56As a result, many leaders were dismissed and replaced by those who gave him honest feedback.
- 9:02Yes, his generals gave him a very, very positive story, and the troops gave the president uh a story, an evaluation, an assessment of the war that did not coincide with what the generals told them.
- 9:18President Lincoln learned real quick that he was being outried, lied to, misled for whatever reasons other than they wanted to ingratiate themselves with the president, they gave him these stories.
- 9:32Very dangerous.
- 9:33Very dangerous when that happens.
- 9:35But the president of the United States, Abraham Lincoln, realized what was happening, went to see the troops, and he began to make tremendous significant changes that benefited the United States of America during the Civil War.
- 9:49He put true leaders in these leadership positions.
- 9:52So, seeing what he did, I figured, hey, you know what I'm gonna do?
- 9:56I'm gonna go out, and I'm gonna do the same thing that he did.
- 10:00So I did this, used his methodology of going out into the field as a U.S.
- 10:07Navy lieutenant commander, visited the enlisted people, even in the galleys where they ate.
- 10:13You know, those of you who are presently on board ships right now, you're out on the fleet listening.
- 10:19I know you might think it's strange to see an officer walk into the galley to sit down with some of you and have conversations with you.
- 10:27The first time I did that was aboard the USS Farrian.
- 10:31That was a frigate I was on.
- 10:33Uh, I decided that, you know what I'm gonna do?
- 10:35Instead of going into the wardroom with the officers uh messes, I'm gonna go down into the galley and eat with the troops.
- 10:41Man, when I walked in, everybody stopped and stared.
- 10:45They I mean, they literally stopped and stared.
- 10:48You know, maybe five, six seconds.
- 10:50I I felt it.
- 10:51I realized, boy, there were a lot of eyes on me.
- 10:53So now I'm thinking, hmm, where am I gonna sit?
- 10:57Am I gonna put somebody on the spot?
- 11:00So anyway, I did go and uh I got my food on the uh line to receive our meal, and I kind of looked around and I decided, well, I'll go over here to this booth and maybe I'll sit with these fellas.
- 11:11So I asked these these fellas, these enlisted guys, if I could sit there with them, and they looked at each other, and then they said, yes, sir, that's fine.
- 11:19And then, as we're sitting down, uh, we begin uh a conversation about the Navy, and uh told them why I was here, why I was in the galley, and then we started uh to have a lot of frank conversations about what was going on and where we were, where we were headed.
- 11:37It was pleasant.
- 11:38And that began, they they uh I remember they began to warm up to me, and then one guy says to me, Well, you know, sir, you just told us uh a few minutes ago that you are uh attached to the Office of Naval Intelligence, and you know, when you said that, you know, you probably got the looks from us because we were concerned that being in a naval intelligence, you were down here looking for something, maybe even investigating something.
- 12:03They actually said that to me.
- 12:04They were concerned, you know.
- 12:06That's why they were very careful.
- 12:07And then as our conversation went on, I did ask them, well, when's the last time an officer came down to the galley here?
- 12:15And they said never.
- 12:18Never.
- 12:19That bothered me.
- 12:20That really bothered me.
- 12:22So at that point, I decided to end my conversation with them after a while.
- 12:26I I didn't go, I was gonna go from table to table.
- 12:29Then I think, you know what, I think this little bit of a shock uh has to wear off on them.
- 12:33So then I began to walk throughout the ship and talk to all of the enlisted people, and you know, uh again, uh uh somewhat concerned about why there was an officer here and officer there, and then I went back to what they call officer country, signed right there over the uh you know, on the hallway uh doorway uh officer country.
- 12:54And I was back, I guess, where I belonged.
- 12:56But then I realized that I also belonged with the troops.
- 13:00And so uh that's what I did.
- 13:02I went out, spoke to them, uh, and uh did that also as my um my position as a detective lieutenant with the Nutley, New Jersey police department.
- 13:12So I took Abraham Lincoln's methodology of leadership, and found that I was getting stories that were very truthful, very frank, and I've got to tell you, from very courageous people, because they really didn't know.
- 13:26They had their doubts as to why I was there.
- 13:29But they warmed up to me.
- 13:30And uh I just couldn't, couldn't help but understand why a lot of officers, unless there were some rules and regulations and policies I didn't know about, never took the time to see the troops.
- 13:41I'm sure the captains of the ships did.
- 13:43I mean, a lot of good leaders in the Navy and great leaders, and I'm sure some of the captains and the executive officers did, but I believe all of us who wear officer rank should do that, should see the troops.
- 13:54In fact, when I was at Norfolk Naval Air Station, I took a lieutenant with me.
- 13:59Come on, we're gonna go uh by the uh pier.
- 14:01The uh USS Trumans coming in.
- 14:04Let's shake the hands of those sailors coming off that wonderful aircraft carrier.
- 14:08And then this uh guy's looking at me, this uh lieutenant's looking at me, and he's saying, sir, there's a heck of a lot of uh men and women coming uh uh off of that uh carrier.
- 14:19I said, good.
- 14:20As long as it takes, we're gonna shake everybody's hand.
- 14:23And that's exactly what we did.
- 14:26We shook a lot of hands, I don't know how many, but there are a few hundred, and thanked them.
- 14:32Thank them for their service.
- 14:33And welcome to Norfolk Naval Air Station.
- 14:37That's leadership, folks.
- 14:39And that wasn't just me who did that.
- 14:41There were some other officers who did that.
- 14:42I don't want it to sound like that, you know, I'm the only one that did that.
- 14:46Got a lot of great officers, the overwhelming majority of the leadership of the United States Navy, and I'm sure of the other services, are dedicated, committed American patriots who love this country and love the branch of the service that they're in.
- 15:01But for the sake of this discussion on this broadcast, I wanted to share that with you.
- 15:06That Abraham Lincoln knew enough and taught some of us years and years, and you know, I mean, a century later, on how we should conduct ourselves as leaders, especially when it comes to our U.S.
- 15:20military.
- 15:21Now, to begin with, I'd like to clarify that my forthcoming assessment does not apply to all media organizations, because what I just shared with you with regard to Lincoln and our leaders and the trenches has a lot to do with what I'm gonna share with you right now about the media.
- 15:41Nevertheless, it's evident that a significant number of media, and I'm talking about mainstream media outlets, they seek interviews with individuals who clearly do not support the war effort.
- 15:52Thereby doing what?
- 15:54Inadvertently, and I want to believe it's inadvertently, providing material that can be utilized as propaganda by our adversaries.
- 16:01That's right.
- 16:02And that's what they're doing.
- 16:04I said that earlier in this broadcast.
- 16:05That's exactly at least in my view, what they're doing.
- 16:09And as I previously noted to you, I have discussed this subject on multiple occasions, and I'll presist, I will persist in doing so while these media outlets undermine the interest of our service members and the broader war conflict.
- 16:25I've got to tell you, folks, it is very extremely, I'll use that word extremely concerning to me to observe retired military leaders publicly offering critical viewpoints regarding our warfighters, particularly members of America's Navy, who are right now uh carrying a major major load in the Middle East, and soldiers and airmen and Coast Guard members and Space Force members, I'll never leave anybody out of this, but I'm just offering up the Navy.
- 17:00Why?
- 17:01Because they are indeed carrying a major, major load when it comes to this conflict in the Mideast, but not diminishing the tremendous, tremendous contribution our other services are given.
- 17:14But that's what they do.
- 17:16And I try to figure out why some of these mainstream media's continue to do this.
- 17:25Now, such commentary by a lot of these so-called retired military guests on their broadcast, as I said, may inadvertently provide encouragement to adversaries by suggesting a lack of unified support for their serving in our armed forces.
- 17:42That's a message a lot of Americans are getting, by the way.
- 17:45Look, I told you before, I'm getting out, I'm talking to people, and they're asking me, well, what is it with some of these retired generals?
- 17:52Retired admirals and colonels and captains from all branches of the United States uh military getting on the air with a lot of these news broadcasters, kind of kind of questioning why we're at war, questioning the strategies and the tactics that we're using, and at the same time, folks, by these individuals are asking me these questions, I could see a bit of discouragement and distress in them, as well as in their voices.
- 18:22But that's why this troubles me.
- 18:25You know, I'm gonna tell you, a lot of people still don't know a lot about me, but I've been involved with the press for nearly 40 years.
- 18:33I've been deeply engaged with the press.
- 18:36And I've been on mostly every single news station that you see today, discussing a lot of these issues.
- 18:44Contributor to Newsmax, contributed to Real America's Voice, contributed to Fox News, contributor to CNN, who by the way don't allow me to come on anymore, and I'll get on to that story at one point in time.
- 18:57Because I don't take, I gotta tell you, folks, I don't take garbage from anybody.
- 19:01If there's a news host telling me something that I know is fake, that is manufactured, I tell them right on the air.
- 19:08I remember doing that with uh, I guess former NS MSNBC when a host uh brought up an issue that I knew was blatantly false and told them on the air.
- 19:20Hey, of course they hit back and then they break for a commercial.
- 19:23I'm gone.
- 19:24That's it.
- 19:25But the news broadcast I'm on now, I've got to tell you, nothing manufactured.
- 19:31As far as I'm concerned, when I'm on, I say what I have to say, and they absolutely do not refute anything I'm saying, because they know it's fact.
- 19:41So those news broadcasts I just shared with you, along with those of us here at America Out Loud News, we're bringing to you facts.
- 19:49At least I am.
- 19:50I can't answer to anyone else.
- 19:53It's important you get the facts and you get the news, whether good or bad, as long as they're facts.
- 19:59And if it's big.
- 20:00Bad news, well, you know what we're gonna do?
- 20:01We're gonna talk about how we could turn that bad into good.
- 20:04But when these military leaders who are no longer, no longer in the trenches, who are no longer looking at leaders like Lincoln and Reagan and others in history who have been here before us, who've done it all and saw it all, when they're not looking at leaders like that.
- 20:26General George Patton, Admiral Bull Holsey.
- 20:29I mean, these were great leaders in their time.
- 20:32But instead, a lot of these military leaders, you know, I'll tell you what, they're not doing us uh any justice.
- 20:38They're not serving the best interest of our country or our military.
- 20:41They say they will, or that they are, they're not.
- 20:45As far as I'm concerned, they're not.
- 20:47And I'll take them to task.
- 20:49And I'll invite any one of them on.
- 20:51I don't care if you're an admiral, I don't care if you got a hundred stars on you.
- 20:55I'll invite you on the air, and let's have this discussion.
- 20:59Because I'd like to know, I'd like to know what are you doing?
- 21:02What are you doing?
- 21:03I'd really like to know that.
- 21:05Now, a lot of people say to me, well, you know what?
- 21:07That's pretty uh pretty bold of you to do that.
- 21:09You know, you're retired lieutenant commander, and look at I'm not, I don't show any of my superiors' disrespect.
- 21:15In fact, I won't criticize their service to our country.
- 21:18I won't do that.
- 21:19They served our country well, they reach certain ranks, that's fine.
- 21:24But you're no longer in the military.
- 21:26Okay, you're no longer in that chain of command.
- 21:30And so you're gonna hear from me with respect, because I'll always respect my superior officers.
- 21:37In fact, a lot of them have said to me, Well, you don't have to call me Admiral, call me John or Sam.
- 21:42Now, I'll call you Admiral, you earned it.
- 21:44But what happens to people, and like I just shared with you, I'm 40 years or more with the media with the press, uh, covering both liberal leaning and conservative leaning networks, both of them and in between.
- 21:55My experience has taught me that while not all, but a lot of media outlets prioritize profit and ratings over promoting peace and truth.
- 22:06They care not to go into the trenches, as a lot of their guests don't.
- 22:10They care not anything that the Lincolns of the world, uh the even the Roosevelts of the world, the Teddy Roosevelts, the FDRs, the JFK's, all right.
- 22:19Uh, all of these individuals that that that live in another lifetime.
- 22:23All right.
- 22:24Some of them still here today that live during that time, but these were great leaders at that time.
- 22:28Ryan O'Reagan, a lot of us were around when Reagan was president.
- 22:32And I will add this.
- 22:34Contrary.
- 22:35Contrary to what all of these leaders believe or want to say, the president administration, other pre under President Donald Trump, and the Department of War, are doing a good job.
- 22:49The best they can do under the circumstances they are facing.
- 22:53And if they're not doing a good job, I have no problem in the American people and some of these leaders letting them know.
- 23:01Do it behind closed doors.
- 23:04Don't feed our enemy any food for their chain of propaganda that they are feeding not only the American people, but people around the world, including their people.
- 23:19Some of them scratching your head saying, gee, you know, you know, what's he talking about?
- 23:23You know, kind of taking these generals and admirals to task.
- 23:26What's this all about?
- 23:27It's all about truth.
- 23:28It's all about integrity.
- 23:30It's all about decency.
- 23:32I don't care what you think of Barack Obama, I don't care what you'd think of Joe Biden, I don't care what you think of Donald Trump.
- 23:40It's listen, I don't care about your politics.
- 23:43All right, that could be dealt with outside the framework of what we do for the United States military.
- 23:50And I do that, folks.
- 23:51I've got a lot of issues I deal with regarding law enforcement and politics because of my career as a lieutenant in a police department.
- 24:00And when I go on the air with regard to our military, you're not going to hear anything about politics.
- 24:06Because I still believe there has to be a division between political agendas and the agenda of saving our country's national security.
- 24:16And when it comes to the United States Navy, my heart's right in that direction to serve the best interest of the fleet of our aviators, of our submarine personnel, and on and on and on, of all people in the Navy and the Coast Guard, the Sea Services.
- 24:32And as I said, we don't turn away anybody.
- 24:34If you're in the Army, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, we're here for you.
- 24:40But the fact of the matter is, when it comes to this, this global effort on the part of a lot of the press, that's a whole different story.
- 24:49When retired senior military officials use this conflict, in particular this conflict, to advance their political or personal interests, particularly in opposition to certain national leaders.
- 25:00I find such actions concerning and inappropriate.
- 25:04In fact, sickening.
- 25:06Do they really not realize that the network's encouraging them to share their constructed versions of events are exploiting them to further business?
- 25:14I mean, to further their business interests, is that what it is?
- 25:17The business interest of the media, I'm sure it is for them.
- 25:20What are the interests of those coming on the air, doing such things?
- 25:24Now they're going to say, oh, freedom of speech.
- 25:26You're right, freedom of speech.
- 25:29Doesn't make it right, though.
- 25:31Doesn't make it right.
- 25:32In my view, it's not right.
- 25:34And worst, are they so clueless?
- 25:37And I'm talking about retired military personnel as well as others who have gotten on the air and going out of their way, going out of their way to demoralize what we're doing as a nation, demoralizing our troops.
- 25:51Like I said, perhaps, and I want to believe it inadvertently, but it's happening.
- 25:56Don't they realize that our enemies are listening?
- 25:59They're watching.
- 26:01And guess what they're doing with what you're saying, my friends, when you're on the air with these people.
- 26:06They're taking those broadcast interviews and putting them as part of their anti-America propaganda campaigns.
- 26:14That's what they're doing.
- 26:15You don't realize that they're doing, I don't understand it.
- 26:18Help me understand it, people, help me understand it.
- 26:22Perhaps they need to go into the trenches like Lincoln did.
- 26:27Because when he went into the trenches, he found out the truth.
- 26:30Perhaps some of these guests, whether you're a retired military or civilian that have taken a position that presents a perspective that we are a divided country.
- 26:38Perhaps you need to go talk to the people on Main Street USA.
- 26:42Get out from behind your leather chair and get out into the streets.
- 26:47Get on the ships of the fleet.
- 26:49Get on the bases, talk to the young sailors, the men, the women that are serving not only the United States, Navy, and Coast Guard, but all of our armed forces.
- 27:04Guard your words so they edify and do not cause harm.
- 27:10Thank you so much.
- 27:12God bless you.

- 30:17Thank you, ladies and gentlemen, for joining me during the second half hour of our one hour broadcast here on America Out Loud News.
- 30:25I like this second half to be titled Out Loud for God.
- 30:30How's that sound, folks?
- 30:32We're out loud for a lot of things, right?
- 30:34I mean, we are we get out loud for uh uh Americans, America's uh problems and challenges that we're facing.
- 30:41We're getting out loud with regard to the foreign policy issues that we are now challenged with.
- 30:46We get out loud for personal problems, national problems, you name it, folks, we get out loud for it uh at any given time and at any place.
- 30:55So I'm thinking, how about we get out loud for God?
- 30:58And so this is what the second half of this one hour broadcast is dedicated to.
- 31:03Getting out loud for God.
- 31:06Now I refer to this part of my broadcast as out loud for God for that reason.
- 31:11Many people ask, why did you name the second half out loud for God?
- 31:16Well, I believe everyone should spend a few moments each and every day of their lives to be outwardly expressive to God Almighty.
- 31:25Not by shouting, not by preaching, not by evangelizing in a loud, boisterous manner, but getting out loud quietly, deep within our very own souls and spirits.
- 31:38We can do that.
- 31:39You ever shout at people, you ever shout at things or places in your mind.
- 31:45You know, you keep it to yourself, you start talking to yourself, you're getting angry within yourself, your blood pressure's going up, stress levels are going up before you know it, you're either at a doctor's office or in a drugstore trying to get something to calm yourself down.
- 32:00But how about getting out loud with God?
- 32:02Do you know that the Bible tells us to get out loud with God, to be bold before his throne?
- 32:07You got something to say to him, say it.
- 32:09I'll tell you what, I've done that many times.
- 32:12My blood pressure never went up.
- 32:14I never lost my uh temper, I never got on an emotional roller coaster.
- 32:19When I got out loud with God, and I still get out loud with God at times, sharing with him on the no uncertain terms how I feel about things, and the fact that I need his help with regard to some of the challenges and problems that I'm facing.
- 32:33What is interesting is that I calm down.
- 32:36He gives me a peace.
- 32:37The Bible also says, I will give you a peace, far past it, your understanding.
- 32:42He invites us to unload on him.
- 32:44He tells us, you know what, cast all your burdens and cares on me.
- 32:47Don't worry about it.
- 32:48Just put them on my shoulders, I'll take care of business.
- 32:52That is what he says in the Bible.
- 32:54Now, you could choose not to believe that, but I believe it, because since the day I told God that I would believe him and trust him and have faith in him and unloaded on him, it just so happens that the heavy load was transferred from my shoulders, my heart, my soul, my spirit, my life, to his shoulders and to his Holy Spirit.
- 33:17It's interesting how all this works out.
- 33:19Now, if you were to ask me, gee, how does he do that?
- 33:22How does that work?
- 33:23My answer to you is I don't have an idea.
- 33:26I just have no idea how it works, but I know it works.
- 33:30It's like when I look at a television set, or when I'm looking at a computer screen, I'm watching, I'm seeing images, I'm seeing lights go on, I'm seeing all sorts of uh things go on with regard to the computer software we have these days.
- 33:45How does my voice transmit from me right now to you?
- 33:49I have no idea how it works, folks.
- 33:51I'm not an engineer, I'm not an electrician.
- 33:54I have absolutely no idea how it works, but I have enough faith in the people that put this together that it's gonna work.
- 34:02Now, there's my explanation with regard to how God works.
- 34:07I have no idea how he works.
- 34:09I know how to turn the switch on with regard to the electric light, television or computer, and I know how to turn the switch on with regard to seeking God's blessing, to seeking his intervention in my life.
- 34:24And you turn that switch on by turning a page.
- 34:27Yeah, turning a page in the Bible, a book, maybe on a computer.
- 34:32Push that button that'll send you to the Holy Bible.
- 34:35That's how you get to him.
- 34:37You get to him by learning his word, studying his word, talking to him, getting bold before him, unload on him, let him know you count.
- 34:45Let them know you're there.
- 34:46Let him know, hey, you know what, God, you created me.
- 34:48What do you expect me to do?
- 34:49Yeah, that's right.
- 34:50People say, oh man, yeah, you can't talk to God like that.
- 34:52You gotta be reverent, you gotta be on your knees.
- 34:55Yeah, yeah, you know, you don't gotta be nothing but you.
- 34:59You know what?
- 35:00You uh uh I pray most of the time standing up.
- 35:03And there are times when I'm led to get on my knees and to be very reverent, to be very respectful.
- 35:11I do those things.
- 35:12After all, the guy's a king, right?
- 35:14And uh he deserves after all what he did for me, he deserves that honor.
- 35:19He deserves that honor, folks.
- 35:22But he he doesn't care, believe me, I really believe this.
- 35:25He don't care if you're on your knees or standing upside down or inside out.
- 35:30He says, come as you are.
- 35:33What do you think of that?
- 35:35And for those of you who said, well, he wants me to come as I am, a sinner, I've done this, I've done that.
- 35:42I don't deserve to go before him.
- 35:43I'm embarrassed.
- 35:45He's the you're the person he's come for, for goodness sakes.
- 35:49Really?
- 35:51You know, the Bible is very clear.
- 35:52He didn't come for those of us who don't need a doctor.
- 35:56For those of us who know him, who serve him, who believe in him, we're we're not perfect.
- 36:00Oh no, we're we're sinners like anybody else.
- 36:03The Bible also says we all sin and fall short the glory of God.
- 36:07But those of us who've accepted Jesus at his word, accepted him as our savior, as our king and as our buddy, as our friend, there's no prerequisite to that other than you're a sinner.
- 36:21Now come to me.
- 36:22I'll heal your wounds.
- 36:23I'll take care of the mesh you got yourself into.
- 36:26I'll do everything that I know I can do within my power.
- 36:30That means God, all right, to put your life on a road to success and prosperity and peace.
- 36:38And why speak of prosperity?
- 36:40I want to make one thing clear.
- 36:42Uh, there are preachers out there who are going to tell you how you could prosper financially, economically, materialistically, put it all in a trash can, folks.
- 36:52God don't work that way.
- 36:54When God talks about prosperity, when that Bible talks about prosperity, that's meaning, that means, in my view, in my opinion, and on the studies that I've uh made with regard to the Bible, that prosperity is in the kingdom of heaven.
- 37:10Your treasure is in the kingdom of heaven.
- 37:13Your treasure on earth, yes, he will bless you.
- 37:16He wants us to prosper.
- 37:18He wants us to have good things and nice things.
- 37:20He does have, he holds no ill uh ill will against the rich and the wealthy.
- 37:26But, and there is a but here.
- 37:29They have more of a responsibility than anybody else to make sure that they're serving him in a very unique way, because he's given them extra blessings, and he's commanded them not to forget the poor, not to forget those in need.
- 37:46He's commanded all of us to do that, and particularly, I believe the rich.
- 37:51And unfortunately, you've heard me say this over and over again.
- 37:55Unfortunately, people get abundantly blessed, and they begin to worship the blessing instead of worshiping the one who blessed them.
- 38:04That's another discussion at another time.
- 38:07But anyway, I've got to tell you something.
- 38:10During my time aboard U.S.
- 38:11Navy ships, there were sounds of jet engines taking off and various machinery operating and personnel issuing orders, very loudly, by the way.
- 38:20Uh, it created a constant and intense auditory environment.
- 38:24All right, in other words, they had a lot of yell and screaming, ordering around, a lot of noise, folks.
- 38:30And you know what?
- 38:31I was among those who contributed to this atmosphere through my actions and through my communication.
- 38:37That's the way it was aboard warships above an aircraft carrier, and on and on and on.
- 38:41You gotta speak loud.
- 38:43You gotta yell loud.
- 38:44I mean, we got out loud, like I said at the beginning of this broadcast in every way, shape, and form at times.
- 38:50And then there were times that I sought to find solitude in the middle of the ocean somewhere on one of these big huge warships.
- 38:57And I found that solitude, and in the quiet of the evening times, I would get out loud with God.
- 39:04Man, I would get out loud.
- 39:07And I'd let him know what I needed and the things that I needed to change my life, because I it was a time I wasn't going down the road that I should be going, and I knew it, but I didn't know how to get there.
- 39:18And then getting out loud with him, the Lord thy God, Jesus Christ, that is being direct and frank.
- 39:25And as the Bible says in Hebrews 4.15, let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
- 39:36I'm why you think about that, folks.
- 39:38What some mercy?
- 39:39You want some help in time of need?
- 39:42Well, now is the time.
- 39:43We all need him all the time, but there are specific times where we really need him.
- 39:49There are times that I could remember, whether I'm aboard a warship or I'm on my job as a police lieutenant, or no matter what I'm doing in life, I would say, Lord, I got myself in a situation here.
- 40:00Or I was dragged into a situation where I need your guidance.
- 40:04I need your help.
- 40:05How do I get there?
- 40:07I pray, Lord, that you deliver me, show me thy way, teach me thy path.
- 40:11I can't do this alone.
- 40:13You know, Lord, you said you do these things.
- 40:15Well, I'm holding you to your promises.
- 40:17And you want to know something?
- 40:19He loves to hear that.
- 40:21Because by you doing that, you could be angry, bitter, whatever it is, all right?
- 40:25If you could be doing that, and you know what he sees, he doesn't see the bitterness.
- 40:31He doesn't see the anger.
- 40:33Well, let's say he sees it, but he doesn't count it against you, okay?
- 40:37But what he sees is your faith.
- 40:40Because you wouldn't be coming boldly to him, holding him to his word and speaking to him as tough as that if you did not have faith.
- 40:48And how do you please God?
- 40:50Ready for this one?
- 40:51This is this is great stuff.
- 40:52How do you prove to him that you have faith in him?
- 40:58You put your faith to work.
- 41:00Tell him you trust him, you believe him.
- 41:03You don't even have to utter those words.
- 41:05Just go to him boldly and hold him to his promise.
- 41:08Yep.
- 41:09That's right.
- 41:10I found that I needed a sort of resurrection in my life.
- 41:13I like that word resurrection.
- 41:15You know, we we have every Easter and every Passover, every single year, resurrection Sunday, right?
- 41:21And the Passover, uh, the resurrection of Jesus Christ, a new life.
- 41:26He was on this earth, died for our sins.
- 41:28He went through hell and high water, folks, for you and me.
- 41:30That's a whole other story at another time, but it is a compelling story to understand, not just to read, but to understand.
- 41:39So his life, resurrected.
- 41:41When Jesus was on earth, he resurrected a few people who had died, you know.
- 41:45Oh, yes, he did.
- 41:47And you know what?
- 41:48It showed me something that in in other words, uh, he could do that for me.
- 41:56He could do that for you.
- 41:58He could take me, he could take you from the road you're on, and he took me from the road I was on to a new road that would lead us to peace and success by resurrecting our lives from the dead.
- 42:11Not that we're physically dead, spiritually dead.
- 42:16Our heart, our souls, our spirits dead, feelings are dead, we're numb to everything.
- 42:21We're so full of distress and depression, we're dead, right, folks?
- 42:25No more motivation, feel that way.
- 42:27I'll bet you there's somebody out there listening right now, and you're saying, whoa, that guy's talking to me.
- 42:31You're darn right I'm talking to you.
- 42:33You know why I'm talking to you in this manner?
- 42:36Because he talked to me in this manner years ago.
- 42:40Well, you're saying, how did he talk to you?
- 42:43Ah, his Bible, his word.
- 42:45Hey, listen, I'm telling you, folks, pick yourself up a Bible if you don't have one.
- 42:49And if you have one, my goodness, take it off that bookshelf, shut all, take, take this, just shove all that dust off of it that's been collecting for years and resurrect your life through the word of God.
- 43:01It is there, right there.
- 43:04And if you don't understand the those and thou's and the this is and that's and all that stuff, go out and get yourself a new international version, a new King James version, a 21st century version of the Bible without the those and bows.
- 43:16It's the same word, different, you know, kind of more modern language, helps you understand more.
- 43:21I've read just about all of them, and I've learned more and more and more as I learned from uh different versions of the Bible.
- 43:29You gotta want it, folks.
- 43:30You gotta want it.
- 43:31You tried everything else.
- 43:33Try God.
- 43:34What's wrong with that?
- 43:35Give him a try.
- 43:36You go to him, you find out real fast.
- 43:38You'll find out real fast what happens.
- 43:41But a lot of this did lead me to do a little bit more research into the resurrection of Christ.
- 43:48And I looked at that word resurrection a lot.
- 43:52And I thought, how could I apply that to my life?
- 43:55And what I found was absolutely astonishing.
- 43:59I found that the resurrection of Jesus Christ is not merely a historical occurrence, which it was, no doubt the most profound occurrence in the history of the creation of the earth.
- 44:10But the resurrection is an ongoing reality with profound impact on you and on me if we allow it to be.
- 44:19It certainly had profound impact on the destiny of this planet and of humanity as a whole.
- 44:27But how about a profound impact on you personally?
- 44:30It enables us to overcome sin and adversity.
- 44:34No way you're going to overcome sin and adversity without him.
- 44:37You'll commit sin, you'll go out and you won't commit it anymore for about a week or two, and you go back and commit sin until the sin killed you.
- 44:46Now you might be saying, Well, I've done this and I've done that.
- 44:49I mean, I'm not dead.
- 44:50My sins aren't going to kill me.
- 44:52Really?
- 44:53The wages of sin is death, says the Bible.
- 44:56Yeah.
- 44:56Death.
- 44:58Not just physical death, because a lot of sin leads people to a lot of physical death, but maybe not necessarily physical death sooner, but certainly later.
- 45:09But how about spiritual death?
- 45:12You know, you can live your entire life in sin, and you may enjoy that.
- 45:17You may enjoy committing adultery.
- 45:19You may be you may enjoy getting away with uh stealing, whether it be money, items at work from other people.
- 45:27A lot of people do that.
- 45:29They don't have any consciousness, no care.
- 45:31They just say, hey, look, I'm gonna collect all I can from this illegal or unethical or sinful act, who cares?
- 45:37Nobody's watching.
- 45:38Well, I've got news for you.
- 45:40There is somebody watching, the guy who created you.
- 45:44And I gotta tell you, the boom will be lowered.
- 45:47It will be lowered.
- 45:49Not because I say it, not to scare you, but because he says it.
- 45:53The wages of sin is death.
- 45:56But, and there's always a but, right?
- 45:58He goes on to say, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
- 46:06That is profound impact.
- 46:08It enables us to overcome our sin and our adversity and assures us not only our eternal hope, but a renewing of our life here on earth.
- 46:18You need to have a resurrection.
- 46:21Easter Sunday, Passover, during those periods of time.
- 46:25We're talking about, especially Easter Sunday, the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
- 46:30There's a lot there, folks.
- 46:32He was resurrected in body, in soul, and in spirit.
- 46:36We could be resurrected in soul and in spirit in this body we have right now on this earth.
- 46:43No earthquakes, oh my goodness, the earth isn't gonna shake, the bolt of lightning isn't coming, the flood isn't coming, but there will be a transformation.
- 46:51Oh, you bet there will be.
- 46:52You'll feel it, and you'll understand it.
- 46:56That the Holy Spirit of God within your life is going to start to shake you up a little bit, direct you in a path that you will feel comfortable with and peaceful with and assured that that is from God Almighty and from no one else.
- 47:10Now check this out.
- 47:12Romans chapter 6, verse 4 and 5, all right.
- 47:15Therefore, we were buried with him through baptism unto death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
- 47:28Now, listen, he's telling us right there, just as Christ was buried and was risen from the dead, that will happen to us, okay?
- 47:37That will, at some point in time when we die, we will be risen from the dead and going into heaven.
- 47:42But what happens between then and now?
- 47:44Your life could be resurrected.
- 47:46I believe that.
- 47:48You could have a newness of life.
- 47:50A lot of people will say to me, gee, I can have a newness of life.
- 47:53All I need to do is hit the lottery.
- 47:54Well, yeah, you're you're in sin, you know, you're forgetting God.
- 47:58So you hit the lottery, you get 10 million dollars, uh, uh, then all of a sudden, uh oh, problems come, difficulties come.
- 48:05The bigger they are, the harder they fall.
- 48:07You've heard that, right?
- 48:08A lot of millionaires who hit lotteries and got rich real quick are no longer rich.
- 48:13And some of them are no longer around.
- 48:16So what happens to that money?
- 48:19But more importantly, what happened to them?
- 48:22You want a permanent residency in hell?
- 48:24Forget what I'm saying.
- 48:26Permanent residency in heaven, think about what I'm saying, and then you go to the Bible and think about what he's saying to you.
- 48:32Jesus Christ's resurrection is considered a pivotal moment, my friends, in history, and the cornerstone of Christianity.
- 48:39That's what the cornerstone of Christianity is all about.
- 48:42Well, numerous religious leaders have passed away, they're dead, they're gone, they got no power.
- 48:47The one and only true God, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ, is the person who rose from the dead, and he demonstrated his authority over sin and death through that resurrection.
- 49:01Period.
- 49:02Science, theologians, all these other big shots in the world of uh theology and whatever you want to call it, you know what?
- 49:09They could take their stuff and put it in a trash can.
- 49:13One word.
- 49:14That's the word of God, period.
- 49:16He is the supreme being, not them.
- 49:19I choose to believe that I choose to believe him rather than them.
- 49:23The resurrections regarded not only as historical that, but as an influential force that can be experienced, that you can experience.
- 49:33I'm not talking about the resurrection of your body.
- 49:36I don't know anything about that other than when I die, I guess I'll find out.
- 49:39But I do know the resurrection of one's life.
- 49:43That's in the pit of hell.
- 49:44Drugs, alcohol.
- 49:46What's your problem?
- 49:47What's your difficulties?
- 49:48They're real.
- 49:50Oh, yeah.
- 49:51And many of the problems and difficulties that we face are as a result of our sin.
- 49:56You could get out of that.
- 49:58How would it like to have a new life?
- 50:00Wake up.
- 50:01What does it say?
- 50:02Oh, yeah, you need to be born again.
- 50:04Doesn't mean to be born again in the sense that, well, and I'm going to court a lot of people.
- 50:09Well, you're going to be a Jesus freak.
- 50:11You're going to be this and that.
- 50:12No, no, no, no, no, no.
- 50:13None of that stuff.
- 50:13Born again simply means that you're going to have a rebirth, a resurrection of your life, like I did, and millions of us did.
- 50:21A realization, you know, this God is necessary is not just God and name, but He's the real deal.
- 50:28And He has a name.
- 50:30Jesus Christ.
- 50:32He holds an office, a king, for goodness sakes.
- 50:35And it's real.
- 50:36It's reality.
- 50:38So there you go, folks.
- 50:40So you must be born again.
- 50:41And how do you become born again?
- 50:43You resurrect your life.
- 50:44You accept Jesus as your Savior.
- 50:46You sit down, you say, Hey, look, you know, I got some big problems here.
- 50:50I'm facing this, I'm facing that.
- 50:51I need your help.
- 50:53And Jesus says, Come unto me, all ye who are heavy laden.
- 50:57No man cometh to the Father but by me.
- 50:59There's no gateway to heaven but by me, Jesus Christ.
- 51:02So you go to him, and I'll tell you what, folks, be plain.
- 51:06Be straight.
- 51:07Be direct.
- 51:08Don't hold anything back.
- 51:09He ain't gonna put a hammer over your head.
- 51:11What I just say, he's looking at the mercy and grace.
- 51:15The opportunity of you giving him the opportunity to give you mercy and grace to resurrect your life where you are now.
- 51:24The resurrection gives us victory over death.
- 51:26Not only death physically, like I shared with you, but death to our sin.
- 51:30Death to the problems that we're facing, the challenges we're facing.
- 51:34Not that they're gonna go away overnight.
- 51:36Some preachers will tell you that.
- 51:37I'm not a preacher or an evangelist.
- 51:39I'm a regular person like you, but I get it.
- 51:42There's still going to be rain in your life, my goodness, storms and difficulties, but there will be a difference.
- 51:47You'll have power like you never had before.
- 51:50And that power will bring you peace and wisdom and understanding and guidance, and you'll be able to sail through those storms in your life like you never did before.
- 51:58And you will come out okay.
- 52:01Believe me.
- 52:02Romans 8 28 says, all things, not a half of things, three quarter things, but all things.
- 52:09Work together for the good for those who love the Lord thy God according to his will.
- 52:14And it all boils down to his will.
- 52:16And you know what his will is?
- 52:18Certainly not your will.
- 52:19Sometimes it is, but most of the time it's not.
- 52:21But his will is that you receive him as a friend, as your Lord, as your Savior, and His will is that you prosper, that you are blessed, and that you have peace.
- 52:36And remember what I said about prosperity.
- 52:38All that you've heard from a lot of preachers, all right?
- 52:41I shouldn't say all, but most of all you've heard from a lot of preachers.
- 52:45If they start to go down the money tunnel, they start to go down, go down the money preaching, stay away from it.
- 52:52The prosperity that comes from God is spiritual.
- 52:55It's peace.
- 52:56Now, if you could get all the money in the world and you could fit for show me a way where uh I could buy peace of heart, soul, and spirit, and let's have a conversation.
- 53:05But you know and I know that's not going to happen.
- 53:08The only place you're going to get real peace is from the Prince of Peace.
- 53:12And guess who that is?
- 53:13Mm-hmm.
- 53:14First name is Jesus.
- 53:15Want to guess his last name?
- 53:17I'm sure you know.
- 53:18All right, so now death is swallowed up.
- 53:21Uh like I said, how many times do you feel what I call the dark night of the soul?
- 53:25How's that?
- 53:25Distress, worry, depressions.
- 53:27That's like a death cloud over your head, for goodness sakes.
- 53:30Don't you think it's time that you resurrect your life?
- 53:33You tried everything, didn't you?
- 53:34I'm telling you, I tried everything.
- 53:36But then, really, somebody said to me, try God.
- 53:40And I said, try God.
- 53:42What are you kidding me?
- 53:43No, I'm not kidding.
- 53:44Try God.
- 53:44And that's what I convey to you.
- 53:46Jesus said, I am the resurrection and the life.
- 53:49Whoever believes in me will live and not die.
- 53:52Do you feel dead?
- 53:54Ah, you feel like you're gonna die.
- 53:56I'm not talking about physically, but your heart, your soul, your spirit, depression, all that going through, oh, I'm you know, I'm just dying inside.
- 54:02Well, forget about dying inside, okay?
- 54:05How about now exercising faith, not in yourself, but in him, and then let him deal with your faith.
- 54:11How's that sound?
- 54:13Believe me, his rising from the dead shows that death is not the final, not the final destiny for you.
- 54:22For those who trust in him.
- 54:24Like Christ's resurrection, we're promised eternal life and our own resurrection.
- 54:31And I'm not just talking like I said, about the resurrection of our bodies when we pass on from this life to the next.
- 54:37I'm talking about right now.
- 54:39Resurrect yourself from depression, from distress, from aggravation.
- 54:45Pray.
- 54:45Now, people again will say, gee, how do I pray?
- 54:48I don't know how to pray.
- 54:49See the way I'm talking to you.
- 54:51Pray that way.
- 54:52Just have a cup of coffee for goodness sakes with him in the morning and have a conversation.
- 54:57Talk to him in your car.
- 54:58These days you could you could move your lips and sing in your car and people think you're okay.
- 55:03Years ago, they thought we were nuts when we did that.
- 55:06Dude, hex that guy in that car next to me at the red light.
- 55:10He's out of his mind.
- 55:11Look at him.
- 55:11He's he or she, they're talking to themselves, right?
- 55:15Today, with the invent of the internet and the phones and this and that, you can you can do whatever you want in your car now.
- 55:22They're gonna dig your normal.
- 55:24Maybe if they heard you talking to God, and you know, according from scriptures, they think they think you're crazy again, right?
- 55:31Now they think we're crazy, the good guys.
- 55:34Anyway, anyway, you see, folks, look at we could laugh a little.
- 55:37We could have some fun.
- 55:39It's a very serious matter, but you know what?
- 55:41We have a God who loves us.
- 55:43You have a God who loves you, and he wants to put your life together.
- 55:47Live with confidence, knowing that death is not the end, but is the beginning of eternal life with Christ.
- 55:53We're talking about the death of sin, the depth of troubles, the depth of problems and challenges that we believe that we'll never overcome.
- 56:02We can with him.
- 56:04So that's what we need to do.
- 56:06I close with this, Matthew 7.24.
- 56:10Therefore, whoever heareth these sayings of mine and do it them, I will liken him unto a wise man who built his house upon a rock.
- 56:18And the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat upon that rock, and it fell not, for it was founded upon a rock.
- 56:28Build your house, meaning your heart, soul, and spirit.
- 56:31Build yourself on a rock.
- 56:33And that rock has a name.
- 56:35Jesus Christ.
- 56:37Resurrect your life today.
- 56:39Don't wait till tomorrow.
- 56:41Wait, never wait.
- 56:43Do it now.
- 56:44God bless you until next time.
- 56:46God bless you.
