- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey guys, it's time for Stacks and Hacks. Yeah. I
- 0:02Speaker 1: have stacks of information and Rich has life hacks. Stacks
- 0:05Speaker 1: and stacks of important information, like headlines. A lot of
- 0:07Speaker 1: times I just have the headline. I don't click on
- 0:09Speaker 1: the story, so don't ask me too much, but still
- 0:11Speaker 1: ask me. You never know.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Okay, sort of ask you.
- 0:13Speaker 1: There's a new dating app that allows other people to
- 0:17Speaker 1: vote on potential matches, kind of like the game show
- 0:20Speaker 1: The Love Connection. Then the daters can see which option's
- 0:23Speaker 1: got the highest percentage of votes.
- 0:24Speaker 2: I like it.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Kind of interesting, unless, like, you know, all your ugly
- 0:27Speaker 1: and all your friends want you to, you know what
- 0:29Speaker 1: I mean?
- 0:29Speaker 2: If you look at it, you're like, oh. Oh, yeah,
- 0:31Speaker 2: and they're kind of just messing with you, and they
- 0:32Speaker 2: pick the worst one.
- 0:33Speaker 1: It could go that way. You'd have to pick trustworthy friends.
- 0:35Speaker 1: You would. If you've been on TikTok recently, you might
- 0:38Speaker 1: have thought, why is everyone boiling and eating whole zucchinis
- 0:41Speaker 1: right now? I have not seen that. Me either. Apparently,
- 0:44Speaker 1: it's the latest snack trend. Even though it sounds weird,
- 0:46Speaker 1: people are swearing by it. I feel like boiled zucchini
- 0:48Speaker 1: would be slimy.
- 0:49Speaker 2: I'm like, oh. Yeah. Why are they swearing it does?
- 0:54Speaker 2: Tastes like worms? I don't know. Pass.
- 0:58Speaker 1: 67-year-old woman in Indiana was arrested for DUI. 67. She
- 1:01Speaker 1: was caught doing donuts on the front lawn of the courthouse.
- 1:04Speaker 2: I saw the video.
- 1:05Speaker 1: I didn't know it was a 67-year-old lady. 67-year-old woman.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Just trying to feel full of life again. Okay, now
- 1:12Speaker 1: get this. This is totally random what I'm about to
- 1:14Speaker 1: bring up to you. Totally random. Sometimes Rich bounces off
- 1:18Speaker 1: minute-to-minute questions off me. Sometimes. Sometimes. And he brought something
- 1:21Speaker 1: up the other day, and now it's in my sacks
- 1:23Speaker 1: and a half. Really? And I bet you you're the
- 1:25Speaker 1: only person that can answer this question, Rich. Does anybody
- 1:28Speaker 1: here know what an octothorpe is?
- 1:30Speaker 2: Nope.
- 1:30Speaker 1: Octothorpe?
- 1:31Speaker 2: Something with eight.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Octothorpe. No, yeah, something with eight. Rich, do you remember?
- 1:36Speaker 1: You asked me this yesterday.
- 1:37Speaker 2: I know, but I kind of forgot the answer.
- 1:39Speaker 1: It's a hashtag.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Oh, a hashtag.
- 1:40Speaker 1: It's a hashtag. An octothorpe? The actual name for a
- 1:43Speaker 1: hashtag is an octothorpe. Yeah. Would you eat this glorious monstrosity?
- 1:49Speaker 1: It's a Philly cheesecake rolled into a large cheese pizza
- 1:52Speaker 1: like a burrito. It's $ 50 and feeds four or one
- 1:55Speaker 1: if you're really hungry. I'll try it. Sounds good. I'd
- 1:57Speaker 1: want to try it. No, thanks. Speaking of octos, do
- 2:00Speaker 1: you guys know why October is called October?
- 2:04Speaker 2: Isn't it for one of the gods?
- 2:05Speaker 1: October? October. The prefix is oct, meaning eight. Uh-huh. Like
- 2:11Speaker 1: octopus or octagon. But it's the 10th month. Why is
- 2:14Speaker 1: it called October? It's the 10th month. Oh, okay. Well,
- 2:17Speaker 1: because it used to be the 8th month. The ancient Roman... Wait, wait, wait.
- 2:23Speaker 1: The ancient Roman lunar calendar had 10 months, and the
- 2:25Speaker 1: winter season was excluded.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Later.
- 2:27Speaker 1: January and February were added to cover the gap. Then
- 2:30Speaker 1: January 1st became the beginning of the year, and all
- 2:32Speaker 1: the previous months were pushed back.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I've heard our calendar right now is all wrong.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Who has that power to go, let's add an extra
- 2:38Speaker 1: month on here?
- 2:39Speaker 2: Caesar did the last one, I guess.
- 2:41Speaker 1: It makes sense, but like, yeah, who makes that call? Caesar.
- 2:44Speaker 2: And then just everyone's like, okay.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Some more interesting facts for Stacks and Hacks. Leo Fender.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Who's that guy, Rich?
- 2:51Speaker 2: He created the Fender guitar. Leo and George. Right, so
- 2:54Speaker 2: you guys have heard of Fender guitar?
- 2:56Speaker 1: Yeah. Apparently, a fun fact, he can't play guitar. He can't?
- 3:01Speaker 1: It says the guy who invented Fender Stratocaster electric guitars
- 3:03Speaker 1: couldn't play guitar. You'd think you'd want to learn. Also,
- 3:06Speaker 1: giraffes and mice have the same number of vertebrae in
- 3:09Speaker 1: their necks. That's true. Those are some big vertebrae. I know.
- 3:14Speaker 2: I was thinking like micro ones in the... And the
- 3:19Speaker 2: mouse or the rat. Yeah.
- 3:21Speaker 1: So that's what Stacks and Hacks is. I just give
- 3:23Speaker 1: you random information. Let me wrap up with this. Apparently,
- 3:25Speaker 1: there's some new baby trends going on right now that
- 3:27Speaker 1: people are expecting next year. For one, name maxing. People
- 3:31Speaker 1: are blending two names together to make it fully maxed,
- 3:33Speaker 1: like combining Maeve and Avery to Mayvery.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Oh.
- 3:37Speaker 1: And it reminds me of that show, The Gentleman, which
- 3:40Speaker 1: I'm currently watching. The older brother's name is Fredward. I've
- 3:43Speaker 1: never heard Fredward before except on that show before. You
- 3:46Speaker 1: name maxed before it was called name maxing with your
- 3:49Speaker 1: son Jake, right? That's right. He's John Jay and Blake.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Jake and Rich came up with that. There's also people
- 3:55Speaker 1: expecting next year names from the Odyssey movie like Ajax, Calypso,
- 3:59Speaker 1: even Homer. Athena would be the one that I would
- 4:02Speaker 1: go for. Which one? Athena.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Athena.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Lunar names are big. No one knows why yet, but
- 4:06Speaker 1: you might see names like Alara or Moon. World Cup
- 4:09Speaker 1: names like Baby Holland or Baby Enzo. And names ending
- 4:14Speaker 1: in O-M-I, like Tomi, Ayomi, and Xyomi. Those are cool.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Medieval names like Angus Winifred.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Oh.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Like Noah's mom. And Archibald. There's names like Cashmere, Golden, Hampton,
- 4:25Speaker 1: and Trust. Cashmere. Clifton, Coe, Fisher, Reef, and Tide. Ernie, Archie,
- 4:31Speaker 1: and Ozzy are making a comeback. And European place names
- 4:34Speaker 1: like Florence, Marbella, Oslo, and Roma. Anyway, Rich, what do
- 4:37Speaker 1: you have for life hacks?
- 4:38Speaker 2: That midnight leg cramp. Have you guys ever had that?
- 4:40Speaker 1: Yes, of course.
- 4:41Speaker 2: You wake up in the middle of the night, calf cramp,
- 4:42Speaker 2: and you're like, oh, my God, my leg's trying to
- 4:44Speaker 2: kill me.
- 4:44Speaker 1: You've all had that, right? Yeah.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Well, there is a fix.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Bananas.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Because when you wake up, well, sure, you're short on potassium.
- 4:51Speaker 2: That's probably why that's doing that. But that doesn't help
- 4:53Speaker 2: you in the middle of the cramp. So when that happens,
- 4:55Speaker 2: here's the hack. Straighten your leg, grab your toes, and
- 4:59Speaker 2: pull them back towards your shin. That stretches the cramp
- 5:01Speaker 2: muscle out. And it can help relax it in seconds. Now,
- 5:04Speaker 2: if you can stand, put your foot flat on the
- 5:06Speaker 2: floor and then press your heel down. Well, anyway, so
- 5:09Speaker 2: don't point your toes, though. Pull them back towards you.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Don't point your toes. That can make the cramp worse.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Now you can go back to sleep without fighting your
- 5:17Speaker 2: own leg. That life hack and many more can be
- 5:19Speaker 2: found at johnjainrich.com.
