- 2:07Speaker 4: indoor pitching mound, did it a turf grass, all kinds
- 2:12Speaker 4: of different things. I have actually been in there when
- 2:14Speaker 4: Connor was in there working out, and Jackson Meadows does
- 2:19Speaker 4: not work out like Connor Griffin. In case anybody was
- 2:24Speaker 4: wondering on the Dancing Rabbit golf text line, which is
- 2:28Speaker 4: sixh one eight eight five three seven seven six. Jake
- 2:33Speaker 4: Mingham continuing to have a productive year with the Pittsburgh
- 2:38Speaker 4: Pirates and that's exciting to see too. So uh two
- 2:43Speaker 4: Jackson Prep guys from the state of Mississippi. One's the
- 2:48Speaker 4: sec hit king. Connor went straight to the league, as
- 2:53Speaker 4: you should have. And that's brought to you by Grit
- 2:56Speaker 4: Fitness and training.
- 2:59Speaker 3: Two good baseball.
- 3:00Speaker 4: We'll see if the Pirates can make some noise in
- 3:04Speaker 4: the second half. I think most of us had become
- 3:07Speaker 4: Pittsburgh Pirates fans. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah. I guess your
- 3:13Speaker 4: favorite Pirates now Connor. But before that was Barry Bonds.
- 3:18Speaker 4: Oh day, mine was Willie Stargel. I had all his
- 3:21Speaker 4: baseball cards. Was it Bill Matlock?
- 3:30Speaker 5: You know?
- 3:30Speaker 4: Mhalam was there for a while, but they were just
- 3:33Speaker 4: run so poorly. It's unfortunate because he was he was
- 3:37Speaker 4: a good pitcher, but got no help.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Dn't Willie Stargel. It's Clemente.
- 3:43Speaker 4: Oh I love Roberto Clemente. I read the book. I've
- 3:45Speaker 4: talked about it. Read it years ago, right in the
- 3:48Speaker 4: right when I started doing this, I read the book
- 3:51Speaker 4: on Clemente. It's really incredible. And you know his tied
- 3:56Speaker 4: to Central America and how great a player he was
- 3:59Speaker 4: and and so on. Yeah, Clemente was no Dave Parker.
- 4:04Speaker 4: Love no relin I love Dave Parker. Had all his
- 4:07Speaker 4: baseball cards, had had all his baseball cards. Yeah, beasts, Yeah,
- 4:14Speaker 4: he's a big boy, was a big old boy.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Had a beard.
- 4:17Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, look looked like he was tough as hell.
- 4:20Speaker 4: He looked like he'd been grown since he was at
- 4:22Speaker 4: least six. Yeah, like grown man. Yeah now I can
- 4:26Speaker 4: see that.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:27Speaker 4: So yeah, thank you on Roberto Clemente. Shouldn't have forgotten him.
- 4:31Speaker 4: And I'm glad that you threw out Dave Parker. And
- 4:33Speaker 4: we were talking about Stargel and Barry Bonde and yeah,
- 4:37Speaker 4: I I mean didn't Bonilla play and yeah right there?
- 4:41Speaker 2: And didn't he win an MVP right there too?
- 4:43Speaker 1: Oh?
- 4:43Speaker 4: I forgot, totally forgot about did he not?
- 4:46Speaker 3: I don't know. I don't remember who won the MVP five.
- 4:51Speaker 3: God he won it that early, I believe.
- 4:53Speaker 4: So double checking that, okay, and the speaking of which
- 4:56Speaker 4: obviously today is day.
- 4:59Speaker 3: So he gets a million two or something a million.
- 5:02Speaker 4: One every year, okay, every year till twenty thirty five.
- 5:08Speaker 4: And you told me that Brett's saber Hagen is still
- 5:11Speaker 4: getting paid. Baber Hagen's still getting paid. When was the
- 5:14Speaker 4: last time Brett saber Hagen played Major League Baseball two
- 5:21Speaker 4: thousand and one? Technically but really played like they like enough?
- 5:28Speaker 4: I didn't know that he had structured his contract like
- 5:30Speaker 4: Bobby Beania did anybody else?
- 5:33Speaker 3: I miss that.
- 5:34Speaker 4: I mean it is not a whole lot of them
- 5:36Speaker 4: saber haagenstructure is he's got. You know, he gets two
- 5:38Speaker 4: fifty a year to fifty k clarify there, two hundred
- 5:42Speaker 4: fifty thousand dollars a year for quite some time.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Who saber Hagen? When did he?
- 5:49Speaker 4: Nobody talks about this like they do Bobby Benilla Bania
- 5:52Speaker 4: is getting well, I mean it's still that is a
- 5:54Speaker 4: chunk of money, Yeah it is. I mean, so he's
- 5:57Speaker 4: been getting two hundred and fifty k every year since
- 6:00Speaker 4: he retired to more than twenty five. Right now, year
- 6:05Speaker 4: twenty five they're getting paid and then many Ramirez. My man,
- 6:11Speaker 4: he's still getting paid by who, the Red Sox or
- 6:14Speaker 4: someone else. Today is the final year that the Red
- 6:17Speaker 4: Sox will pay him?
- 6:18Speaker 2: How much? Two point four?
- 6:21Speaker 3: When was the last time man Round played ten years?
- 6:25Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 6:26Speaker 2: More than that?
- 6:27Speaker 1: Oh?
- 6:27Speaker 2: Really? Yeah? Yeah but I remember?
- 6:30Speaker 4: Wait whatever I mean, I know he's great, went over
- 6:32Speaker 4: and tried it around the world for a little wife. Yeah,
- 6:34Speaker 4: but I'm talking MLB. How did he structure that with?
- 6:37Speaker 4: Tell me how much was deferred payment? Like Brett saber Hagen.
- 6:42Speaker 4: I'd never heard of Manny Ramirez or Brett Saberhagen's contract
- 6:47Speaker 4: being structured to where its deferred payment for years and
- 6:50Speaker 4: years and years after they're done. We all knew about
- 6:53Speaker 4: Bobby Beniah, right they This is the final installment from
- 6:58Speaker 4: Ramirez through the twenty twenty six.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Saber Haagen.
- 7:05Speaker 4: Payments. These payments began in four, three years after he
- 7:08Speaker 4: was out of baseball. I need to figure out exactly
- 7:12Speaker 4: what happened to here, Okay, but saber Haagen will receive
- 7:16Speaker 4: two hundred and fifty grand a year from the Mets
- 7:18Speaker 4: for twenty five years.
- 7:20Speaker 2: So he's that til two thousand and nine.
- 7:24Speaker 4: I mean, I'm sorry, twenty twenty nine, gotcha, he gets
- 7:26Speaker 4: he'll get paid till twenty twenty nine.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Got you to fifty a year.
- 7:29Speaker 3: Okay, it's three years removed from Man, what a great deal.
- 7:32Speaker 4: I mean, not counting he's he's got his pension and
- 7:36Speaker 4: if you put he back, I mean, damn, that's that's
- 7:40Speaker 4: I mean, he played for a long time, so he's
- 7:42Speaker 4: got a good pension and he's old enough now to
- 7:44Speaker 4: where it's kicking in. I don't know when you can
- 7:47Speaker 4: start drawing it, but he'll sounds like he'll be justad
- 7:51Speaker 4: to go.
- 7:51Speaker 2: It'll be just fun.
- 7:52Speaker 4: I met him at the ASAR event, rightaby, Yeah, Kansas
- 7:57Speaker 4: City Rolls Picture World Series.
- 8:00Speaker 3: He was really good for a while.
- 8:01Speaker 4: I think he got hurt at some point, really, but uh,
- 8:03Speaker 4: but he was really good for for a minute or
- 8:06Speaker 4: I mean for a run. I mean, saber Hagen was
- 8:10Speaker 4: was a dude in the eighties. That was one guy
- 8:13Speaker 4: that as kids we talked about because this is premattics, right,
- 8:19Speaker 4: and that whole run that kicked in in nineteen ninety
- 8:23Speaker 4: so as far as eighties guys, you know he was
- 8:27Speaker 4: he was what you know a little bit earlier in
- 8:30Speaker 4: that decade in the eighties was Steve Carlton. Yeah, you know,
- 8:34Speaker 4: Rick Sutcliffe had it had some good moments with the Cubs,
- 8:38Speaker 4: and I say I reference him because we watched him
- 8:40Speaker 4: all the time on g N. But yeah, saber Hagen
- 8:43Speaker 4: and the Royals got it done. They always had cool uniforms.
- 8:46Speaker 4: They always did the powder blues, yeah, and a combination
- 8:50Speaker 4: of when they would wear the white blue and then
- 8:53Speaker 4: the navy blue.
- 8:55Speaker 3: It.
- 8:57Speaker 4: I remember Wilson and and and George Bratt and uh
- 9:01Speaker 4: And and saber Hagen and god, I'm missing a couple
- 9:05Speaker 4: of others.
- 9:06Speaker 3: Man, But you know, you could always get a Kansas
- 9:10Speaker 3: Kansas City.
- 9:10Speaker 4: Royals helmet, helmet cup and Smith Wills.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:15Speaker 3: I don't know why.
- 9:16Speaker 4: You could always get some of the obscure ones like that.
- 9:19Speaker 4: You wouldn't think you couldn't get Atlanta in the Cubs
- 9:21Speaker 4: for whatever reason are rare. But they always had Detroit
- 9:26Speaker 4: in Kansas City. And I have to think of one
- 9:29Speaker 4: other one, no, that was this is pretty Florida. When
- 9:32Speaker 4: I was growing up, there were no Florida teams but
- 9:36Speaker 4: there was another one or two Phillies. Phillies was always there.
- 9:40Speaker 4: It was Phillies Royals Tigers Detroit, and I had to
- 9:44Speaker 4: think of the other one. You did get some Yankees,
- 9:47Speaker 4: but I was not a Yankees fan, all right. Out
- 9:50Speaker 4: of Bounds is brought to you by the wood fired pizzas.
- 9:53Speaker 4: It tastes Italian kitchen in the Renaissance.
- 10:06Speaker 5: MM.
- 10:18Speaker 3: By the way, I'm a fan.
- 10:22Speaker 4: Well to normally what I do is I get I'll
- 10:25Speaker 4: get too venty.
- 10:26Speaker 6: I go, you know, Starbucks, I'll get too venty of
- 10:29Speaker 6: the pipe with two shots in them, So black.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Eye and both.
- 10:34Speaker 7: That's what I come in with. That's how I start
- 10:36Speaker 7: the day.

- 13:19Speaker 4: going on here with Brad uh He asked you what
- 13:24Speaker 4: maybe y'all could bring back pros versus Joe's Yeah, I
- 13:28Speaker 4: would love that.
- 13:28Speaker 2: I love that show.
- 13:29Speaker 4: And what was it whenever they would take like a
- 13:32Speaker 4: professional athlete or a semi professional athlete and let a
- 13:34Speaker 4: regular guy get out there and trying to play against
- 13:36Speaker 4: them or compete.
- 13:37Speaker 7: Oh god, she about the sizeable gap. That's funny, it's big,
- 13:42Speaker 7: that's funny. Brian Scalabrini has a famous quote. Brian Scalabrini
- 13:46Speaker 7: is the white Mamba. He played for the Celtics. Nay,
- 13:48Speaker 7: he's a world champ.
- 13:49Speaker 4: Okay, mishill play. No, he's as role player's role player gets.
- 13:53Speaker 4: But he embraced it. And when like Robert Norriy even
- 13:57Speaker 4: more so, okay, like when when Kobe did the mamba thing,
- 14:00Speaker 4: Scots like, you know what, I'll be the white mom
- 14:02Speaker 4: but why not?
- 14:03Speaker 2: And so it's a he's had a real good time
- 14:05Speaker 2: with the butt.
- 14:05Speaker 4: He's always said that I'm closer to Lebron than you
- 14:09Speaker 4: are to me.
- 14:13Speaker 2: Always made sense to me.
- 14:16Speaker 4: He's just talking to the general populations. Yes, okay, Lebron
- 14:20Speaker 4: being that good. Okay, he said, I'm closer than Lebron
- 14:24Speaker 4: than you are to me. So the sizeable gap between
- 14:27Speaker 4: him and Lebron, which is quite massive, as you know,
- 14:31Speaker 4: per his admission, Uh.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Still not as big as the gap between.
- 14:36Speaker 3: Me and him. No, I get that. I agree with him.
- 14:40Speaker 4: He's closer than Lebron than all of us ever knuckleheads
- 14:44Speaker 4: are to him.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Okay. And then he went to Rutger Park and destroyed
- 14:48Speaker 2: everybody at Rutger Park.
- 14:49Speaker 3: Did he really was?
- 14:50Speaker 2: He was awesome?
- 14:52Speaker 4: But he's a six foot and eleven white cow with
- 14:54Speaker 4: red hair. Really, I don't even know what you're talking about.
- 14:59Speaker 4: So Lebron's gone from the Lakers, so he says, yeah,
- 15:05Speaker 4: he wants to play with Steph. He wants to plow Steph,
- 15:08Speaker 4: or he wants to go to San Antonio to play
- 15:11Speaker 4: with Wimby. Really, but there's always there's always a wild card.
- 15:17Speaker 4: It's pat Riley, Okay, he is the wild card because
- 15:22Speaker 4: if he wants him, well, he's already done this before,
- 15:28Speaker 4: done and got him before. So pat Riley, who went
- 15:34Speaker 4: to Kentucky and then of course you know, has had
- 15:40Speaker 4: an extraordinary career as a coach and executive. And I
- 15:46Speaker 4: talked about him a few weeks ago, and if you've
- 15:48Speaker 4: listened to show, he's one of those guys that I'm
- 15:50Speaker 4: pretty fascinated by, pretty obsessed with his intellect drive success.
- 15:58Speaker 4: I mean he's made, you know, because zillion dollars, I
- 16:00Speaker 4: don't know a cup under me, and I would think that,
- 16:02Speaker 4: uh yeah, and I may be low, but you know,
- 16:06Speaker 4: to go from the Lakers to the Knicks to the
- 16:08Speaker 4: Heat and have so much success everywhere, and at his
- 16:11Speaker 4: age to make this to go get Yiannis, he's eighty one.
- 16:16Speaker 4: He's eighty one. He's eighty one years old. God he
- 16:18Speaker 4: doesn't look like it. No, and he just went to
- 16:20Speaker 4: that whole Gianni steel was intense, like they've they've been
- 16:23Speaker 4: fighting and battling back and forth, team after team for
- 16:27Speaker 4: at least it's been three months. Well, I've got I
- 16:32Speaker 4: told you this. I've got a Miami Heat pullover on
- 16:35Speaker 4: the way.
- 16:37Speaker 2: So might be right on time.
- 16:39Speaker 4: And Lee Sterling has I think season take us to
- 16:43Speaker 4: the Heat. He's been inviting me for years. I may
- 16:45Speaker 4: have to finally take him up on it. Because Jimmy
- 16:49Speaker 4: Butler I loved his game, and I like sporlsra I
- 16:55Speaker 4: love pat Riley. And again I referenced the article on
- 16:59Speaker 4: ESPN the Maga ESPN dot com from years ago, just
- 17:02Speaker 4: talking about what how he how pat Riley's wired, how
- 17:06Speaker 4: he's driven, and why he's still doing He can't hang
- 17:08Speaker 4: it up. You know, he's got a place in on
- 17:11Speaker 4: the beach in Los Angeles or somewhere in Los Angeles,
- 17:15Speaker 4: and and yet he just keeps re upping with the Heat.
- 17:19Speaker 4: You know, he could have gone to the house years ago,
- 17:22Speaker 4: and he can't. He's still chasing one more championship and
- 17:29Speaker 4: one more title because he's obsessed with competing and challenges
- 17:34Speaker 4: and putting together a team to give the spolster that
- 17:37Speaker 4: could win it. And now they get Gianni's.
- 17:42Speaker 2: He's gonna he's somehow gonna finesse this and pull it off.
- 17:45Speaker 3: And then I wouldn't put anything past him.
- 17:47Speaker 4: You could argue he's the greatest recruiter in professional sports.
- 17:51Speaker 3: Yeah, just with some of the things that he's done.
- 17:54Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 17:54Speaker 4: I don't know how he wouldn't be, but he is
- 17:57Speaker 4: definitely one of them. You know, bookie guy there you go?
- 18:02Speaker 4: Who that guy was? Maybe their buddies they might be. Yeah, man,
- 18:07Speaker 4: who knows, if they get him. I'm Sklas out of
- 18:11Speaker 4: l a good thing. Yeah, who Lebron? Yeah, I seeing
- 18:17Speaker 4: that purple gold. Oh stand it, you're not a Laker. Oh,
- 18:21Speaker 4: you're a Celtics guy.
- 18:22Speaker 2: I don't like the heat. Heat you you?
- 18:23Speaker 3: Oh I love the heat.
- 18:25Speaker 2: I mean I like you honest.
- 18:27Speaker 4: Uh So you're you're a Celtics guy and you do
- 18:30Speaker 4: not like the Lakers?
- 18:31Speaker 2: No, no, no, no.
- 18:33Speaker 4: Did you like Kobe? Yes, that's different. Okay, that he's
- 18:36Speaker 4: an I don't think it's different. He's an entity. You're
- 18:40Speaker 4: all over the place. I mean we all are as
- 18:42Speaker 4: as who we like and don't like, and how we
- 18:44Speaker 4: decide to, you know, wrap things up in a bow
- 18:46Speaker 4: in like. But this is funny to me. You're you're
- 18:51Speaker 4: a big Celtics fan. You don't like the Lakers, but
- 18:54Speaker 4: you like Kobe. Yes, okay, see it's not like that
- 18:56Speaker 4: in baseball though, because I'm not there will never be
- 18:59Speaker 4: a Yankee that I that.
- 19:00Speaker 3: I like ever, because you're a Red Sox.
- 19:03Speaker 2: Yes, I will never know.
- 19:07Speaker 3: Okay.
- 19:08Speaker 2: Jeter, Yeah, excussy, terrible human.
- 19:13Speaker 3: He's not a terrible human.
- 19:15Speaker 2: She was actually a good ye baseball field though. Don't
- 19:19Speaker 2: want to see you wouldn't pick him up.
- 19:23Speaker 3: We've got some Jeter audio, I think.
- 19:25Speaker 4: Yeah, Jeter's a legend, no kidding in the streets.
- 19:28Speaker 3: No doubt.
- 19:30Speaker 4: I mean he's the biggest Yankee, uh, the last forty years. No,
- 19:35Speaker 4: he's the biggest New York sports yeah athlete, Yes, the
- 19:40Speaker 4: last forty years.
- 19:42Speaker 3: It's not close.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Okay.
- 19:44Speaker 4: We are the Out of Bounds Show, brought to you
- 19:47Speaker 4: by the Wings in stell Ar, Twade, Martin's and Livingston.
- 20:20Speaker 5: You're gonna get Daddy.
- 20:21Speaker 1: The Raindan Sweek.

- 21:29Speaker 2: You want to drop the Gronk stuff.
- 21:30Speaker 4: Rob Gronkowski talking about American football and soccer and although
- 21:39Speaker 4: we have improved and gotten better, Gronk talks about, you know,
- 21:44Speaker 4: what our athletes do and don't do compared to other
- 21:50Speaker 4: kids and athletes around the world, and this ties in
- 21:53Speaker 4: well with tonight's game United States and Bosnia in the
- 21:58Speaker 4: FIFA World Cup, and we'll get two games before that,
- 22:02Speaker 4: so people will go to restaurants and bars and fun
- 22:05Speaker 4: spots for lunch and watch some of England and Congo
- 22:09Speaker 4: or whoever I said earlier. And but tonight is USA
- 22:13Speaker 4: Bosnia Fox seven o'clock. This is Rob Gronkowski, big time
- 22:18Speaker 4: tight end for the New England Patriots plus the Tampa
- 22:21Speaker 4: Bay Buccaneers. Talking about American football and soccer.
- 22:24Speaker 6: All our best athletes we played football in America. I
- 22:27Speaker 6: think football, our football in America kind of ruined our
- 22:32Speaker 6: soccer game. I kind of ruined our soccer teams for
- 22:34Speaker 6: Team USA because all our best athletes play the game
- 22:38Speaker 6: of football, of American football. Like you, Jay, I like
- 22:42Speaker 6: it so like every If those athletes started at a
- 22:46Speaker 6: young age, like our wide receivers and DB's, they're the
- 22:49Speaker 6: best athletes in the world. If they started at a
- 22:51Speaker 6: young age, everyone knows in America you're going to play football,
- 22:55Speaker 6: American football. You're not going to play soccer. Like that's
- 22:57Speaker 6: the goal is to play American football. If we didn't
- 22:59Speaker 6: have the American football I believe that Team USA would
- 23:03Speaker 6: be a top three, you know, top three team in
- 23:07Speaker 6: the world whenever it comes down to Olympics, World Cup
- 23:10Speaker 6: or whatever that. And that's why I believe our women's
- 23:12Speaker 6: team is so good because they get the they get
- 23:15Speaker 6: their best athletes to play right from the beginning. And
- 23:17Speaker 6: that's why our women's team.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Is so good.
- 23:19Speaker 6: But we take away our soccer athletes and we make
- 23:22Speaker 6: them become American football players and basketball.
- 23:25Speaker 3: But he hit the nail on the head.
- 23:28Speaker 4: Gront crushed it, you know, multi super Bowl winner several
- 23:32Speaker 4: times with the Patriots and the Buccaneers. Great player and uh,
- 23:36Speaker 4: he and Brady had some amazing moments.
- 23:38Speaker 2: And that was.
- 23:38Speaker 4: Grant laying out very while. You know, again, our our
- 23:46Speaker 4: kids want to play short stop and they want to
- 23:48Speaker 4: start at the two three four position in basketball, and
- 23:51Speaker 4: they want to uh, you know, be a quarterback or
- 23:56Speaker 4: a tight end or an edge rusher or wide receiver
- 23:59Speaker 4: or something like that.
- 24:00Speaker 3: U and uh.
- 24:01Speaker 4: And yet we're still getting better every cycle much, I mean,
- 24:06Speaker 4: the the improvement on the men's side, like he was
- 24:10Speaker 4: right on the women's there, our our women they don't
- 24:14Speaker 4: compete with with football, right so or baseball. Now you
- 24:19Speaker 4: do have soccer and basketball, no question, But man, every cycle,
- 24:23Speaker 4: we're getting better and uh we're still in it and
- 24:27Speaker 4: we we should win tonight. Okay, you told me we're
- 24:30Speaker 4: a slight favorite. Cool, well, one goal, just one more
- 24:35Speaker 4: goal than them, and let's do it, and let's win
- 24:39Speaker 4: and see where this thing and then it'll be pandemonium
- 24:43Speaker 4: in the you know, we we've got soccer panemonium, but
- 24:47Speaker 4: we're still so football and you know, basketball and baseball driven,
- 24:51Speaker 4: which is great. But if we win tonight, yeah, I
- 24:54Speaker 4: think the country will lose their mind for a little
- 24:57Speaker 4: while between you know, tonight and next match.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Cautious fans.
- 25:02Speaker 4: Yeah, but there are still people that are into it
- 25:05Speaker 4: and they don't have to know.
- 25:06Speaker 2: You don't.
- 25:07Speaker 4: I mean, look, we don't know what's going on in football.
- 25:11Speaker 4: I mean okay, I mean unless you go back and
- 25:14Speaker 4: watch the game, you know, a couple and break it
- 25:17Speaker 4: down and talk to people and so them.
- 25:18Speaker 2: So I mean we're up there eating nachos and.
- 25:20Speaker 4: Having a Dodg pepper and uh, well I've got some
- 25:24Speaker 4: notes on that, so I may, okay, I'll get into that.
- 25:28Speaker 4: Let's switch gears. I have been asked, and we are
- 25:31Speaker 4: the out of Bound show. We're brought to you by
- 25:32Speaker 4: two Brothers, It's wingsday. Barton Dinkins is an unbelievable award
- 25:39Speaker 4: winning pitmaster chef. He has rolled out the menu at
- 25:43Speaker 4: Two Brothers and Older Brother Bistro and crushed it. His
- 25:46Speaker 4: food is fabulous. He's got super elevated bar and grilled
- 25:51Speaker 4: food at Two Brothers and then Older Brother Bistro's on
- 25:53Speaker 4: another level. I mean, you know he does blats and
- 25:57Speaker 4: sort you know who knows what specials he's doing. But
- 25:59Speaker 4: then the staples on the menu are fabulous, from the
- 26:05Speaker 4: ruben to the fried crab claws to the you know,
- 26:10Speaker 4: uh oh gosh, lox bagel.
- 26:15Speaker 3: He's got a great.
- 26:16Speaker 4: Muffletta and of course I've been hammering their cheeseburger for
- 26:21Speaker 4: a while. They carry Key City beer because he's smart.
- 26:24Speaker 4: He knows that Key City beer out of Vicksburg's great.
- 26:27Speaker 4: But Jackson just mentioned Levy and and people have been
- 26:31Speaker 4: asking on I hit on this year a year, a
- 26:34Speaker 4: week or so ago. It all runs together. I don't
- 26:36Speaker 4: remember what I said in the last segment, but so
- 26:42Speaker 4: Mississippi State fans are upset that they're not recruiting better.
- 26:45Speaker 4: And while I think you should be recruiting a little
- 26:49Speaker 4: bit better, than you are. Uh, I am not surprised
- 26:52Speaker 4: that Pete Golding and Ole Miss are racking up with
- 26:55Speaker 4: all the in state recruits and they're recruiting out of
- 26:58Speaker 4: state two. But I'm not surprised when a Mitchell Turner
- 27:03Speaker 4: commits to Old Miss or a Benjarvias Shoemaker commits to
- 27:09Speaker 4: Ole Miss. A couple of things here. What Ole Miss
- 27:11Speaker 4: has been winning. Pete's been in town or in town,
- 27:14Speaker 4: in the state and in a border for a while now,
- 27:18Speaker 4: I mean you're talking I don't even know how long now,
- 27:20Speaker 4: five or six years, counting Alabama and Old Miss. So
- 27:23Speaker 4: he was recruiting Mississippi. First of all, he played at
- 27:26Speaker 4: delt State. He's from you know, Southeast Louisiana. He went
- 27:31Speaker 4: to Alabama as the d C, so he was already
- 27:34Speaker 4: recruiting the state of Mississippi. And then he went to
- 27:36Speaker 4: Ole Miss and he's been the defensive coordinator and now
- 27:40Speaker 4: he's the head coach. First of all, Pete Golding is
- 27:45Speaker 4: a rabid recruiter. I mean he's a good recruiter and
- 27:49Speaker 4: a good DC. And Old Miss is winning. Mississippi State
- 27:53Speaker 4: has a new defensive coordinator that didn't have relationships with
- 27:57Speaker 4: these guys, so Zach Arnett just got hired in January?
- 28:02Speaker 4: Did it make any sense to hire Coleman Hutzler in
- 28:05Speaker 4: the first place? Most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of.
- 28:08Speaker 4: And the fact that you rolled it out again in
- 28:10Speaker 4: year two unacceptable, you know, just a ridiculous, unbelievable. But
- 28:20Speaker 4: Arnett's just got here, so for him to get in
- 28:24Speaker 4: with Mitchell Turner, and you've been so bad on defense,
- 28:28Speaker 4: you know.
- 28:31Speaker 3: This doesn't surprise me.
- 28:32Speaker 4: I mean, I know that it's you know, Lewisville, Misissippi,
- 28:36Speaker 4: Ackerman Mississippi, and Tupelo, Mississippi, among others that's got Mississippi
- 28:41Speaker 4: state fans upset. Antonio Barry is another one. And then
- 28:49Speaker 4: you know there's look, they're going to get most anybody
- 28:53Speaker 4: they want. But again, Golding and his staff are more
- 28:59Speaker 4: are they're better recruiters than Levy and his staff one
- 29:03Speaker 4: and then two old missus went, I mean Ole miss
- 29:05Speaker 4: under Lane. Y'all know the drill. They're coming off their
- 29:07Speaker 4: greatest season in the history of their program, playing over
- 29:10Speaker 4: one hundred years. And then on top of that, Pete
- 29:14Speaker 4: Golding has been recruiting Mississippi since he was in Tuscaloosa,
- 29:17Speaker 4: and now he's already been in Oxford and had success.
- 29:20Speaker 4: I think when you walk in and you're trying to
- 29:23Speaker 4: I don't think when you walk in and you're you're pitching.
- 29:28Speaker 4: You know, Hey, Mitchell Turner, d Lineman from you know, Lewisville, Misissippi,
- 29:34Speaker 4: we'd love for you to come to Mississippi State. Well,
- 29:39Speaker 4: there is a chance that Jeff Levy could be gone
- 29:41Speaker 4: by Halloween.
- 29:43Speaker 3: They know that. Pete Golding said this his first year,
- 29:49Speaker 3: it's his first year, definite advantage.
- 29:52Speaker 2: Why would you that's a.
- 29:53Speaker 4: Tremendous advanced I mean, he's been there for several years
- 29:57Speaker 4: as DC, they've been winning, He's been recruiting these kids longer.
- 30:02Speaker 4: Great they just went to the College Football Playoff Final four.
- 30:05Speaker 4: They have been sending players to the NFL. They're much
- 30:11Speaker 4: more avid, focused and all in recruiters. I'm not surprised
- 30:19Speaker 4: that Benjarvias Shoemaker, or Mitchell Turner, or Antonio Berry or
- 30:25Speaker 4: Jackson Meadows, I'm not surprised they commit to.
- 30:33Speaker 2: Ole Miss or winning.
- 30:35Speaker 4: You know, Ole Miss went thirteen and two last year,
- 30:40Speaker 4: eleven and one, two wins to lay Yeah, two lane
- 30:43Speaker 4: Georgia Final four so on, and so you know, our
- 30:48Speaker 4: Nett's been on the ground for six months. He and
- 30:52Speaker 4: and he walked in to an absolute and total disaster.
- 30:56Speaker 4: You know, it hasn't gotten better since Levy took over.
- 31:01Speaker 4: And really you've been you've been missing your recruiting fastball
- 31:05Speaker 4: since Dan Mullen left Morehead wrecked your recruiting. Leech wasn't interested,
- 31:11Speaker 4: but could win. I mean he could win this team
- 31:13Speaker 4: that Levy has. Leach could win with. Oh, Leach could
- 31:16Speaker 4: win seven games. Okay, Mike Leach just went and god knows,
- 31:20Speaker 4: you give him Camaro Taylor. You know they had just
- 31:22Speaker 4: they had just talked Leach in two years before he
- 31:26Speaker 4: passed away to actually trying a dual threat quarterback at
- 31:32Speaker 4: in his offensive air raid. Leech had had statues and
- 31:37Speaker 4: because he's so brilliant, they just anybody who played for
- 31:40Speaker 4: him put up insane stats. Well, mea Lee or Meylee,
- 31:46Speaker 4: whatever the guy's name was. Any you know, y'all know
- 31:50Speaker 4: Leech signed Chris Parsons from the Nashville area, and whether
- 31:55Speaker 4: or not he was going to be good or not,
- 31:56Speaker 4: the point is he was going to go after a
- 31:57Speaker 4: dual threat guy. Can you imagine putting Kamar Taylor in
- 32:00Speaker 4: the air. Rak ridiculous, ridiculous, you know, just because he
- 32:10Speaker 4: would be a threat to pull the ball down and
- 32:13Speaker 4: just crush you. But no, I'm not surprised at the recruiting.
- 32:16Speaker 4: I expected to continue. And ole Miss has gone out
- 32:19Speaker 4: of state and landed some good players too. So right
- 32:24Speaker 4: now they are currently.
- 32:27Speaker 2: Ranked.
- 32:30Speaker 4: Actually this, this probably gives ole Miss fans a lot
- 32:33Speaker 4: of bragging rights. They're they're ranked ahead of l s U.
- 32:36Speaker 2: About that.
- 32:39Speaker 4: Now, Yeah, I mean Ole Miss has nineteen commitments and
- 32:43Speaker 4: some really good players committed.
- 32:44Speaker 3: LSU has fourteen commitments.
- 32:50Speaker 4: That Bob Chesney guy or whatever his name is, that
- 32:53Speaker 4: was it, James Madison that's at UCLA, Kenny's brother.
- 32:56Speaker 3: That's right? Uh u c l A sixteenth in the country.
- 33:00Speaker 1: What do it?
- 33:01Speaker 3: What recruiting?
- 33:03Speaker 4: No, they got a bunch of he realizes, you know, hello,
- 33:06Speaker 4: you can recruit to this campus. Beautiful people, gorgeous campus,
- 33:11Speaker 4: good area of LA.
- 33:13Speaker 2: That had U.
- 33:15Speaker 4: But that's right, uh, Texas A and M is number
- 33:20Speaker 4: one in the country. Wow, So Elco and those guys
- 33:24Speaker 4: are getting after it. Notre Dame Marcus Freeman hell of
- 33:27Speaker 4: a recruiter, and he's got some dudes on his staff.
- 33:30Speaker 4: You know, Christoval may be the best recruiter in the country.
- 33:32Speaker 4: He's number three. Miami. They just went to the National
- 33:35Speaker 4: Championship game. You know that they were in the final
- 33:37Speaker 4: four with old miss Oklahoma. Venables is a mad man.
- 33:42Speaker 4: He may not be, he may not be a really
- 33:44Speaker 4: good head coach, and he may he may develop into one,
- 33:47Speaker 4: but he is a madman recruiter. Oklahoma's fourth in recruiting.
- 33:53Speaker 4: Texas is fifth. Sark right there, Oregon, Dan Lannings a
- 33:56Speaker 4: maniac and they have a tremendous amount of money. As
- 33:59Speaker 4: we all know. Ohio State's always in the mix. They're
- 34:02Speaker 4: number seven, and then Texas Tech with McGuire and Cody
- 34:07Speaker 4: Campbell billionaire oil energy money. And then the round it
- 34:11Speaker 4: out Florida Gators and John Summer all at number nine
- 34:14Speaker 4: in the country. Wow, already already got twenty four commitments.
- 34:18Speaker 4: And then wrapping it up, Alex Golish and the Auburn
- 34:22Speaker 4: Tigers are at number ten with twenty four commits. So
- 34:26Speaker 4: if you want to know how many SEC schools are
- 34:28Speaker 4: in in the top ten, A and M one, Oklahoma four,
- 34:34Speaker 4: Texas five, Florida nine, Auburn ten, who did I not say,
- 34:40Speaker 4: you're right Georgia and Bama. Now, I mean, Georgia's got
- 34:46Speaker 4: seventeen commitments in there at fifteen, and you know, I
- 34:52Speaker 4: don't know what Bama's doing. They're forty seventh, which is
- 34:56Speaker 4: what weird. I know, they've only got thirteen commits and
- 34:59Speaker 4: two of them are for star and one of them
- 35:00Speaker 4: is a five star. But Bama's Bama's at forty seventh.
- 35:06Speaker 2: That doesn't feel right. Yeah, that sounds right. Oh that'll
- 35:10Speaker 2: change though, right, I.
- 35:11Speaker 4: Mean surely, Oh, they'll move up. I just don't know
- 35:14Speaker 4: if they can get in the top five right now.
- 35:16Speaker 4: I don't put anything past a brand like Alabama, and
- 35:21Speaker 4: you don't either, you know, because yeah, but I can
- 35:25Speaker 4: tell you this, he better not finish like twenty second thirty.
- 35:29Speaker 4: That's like well, I mean, if Bama finishes nineteen twenty
- 35:33Speaker 4: second in recruiting, that's like finish finishing ninety fifth.
- 35:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 35:38Speaker 4: And by the way, PJ. Fleck and Minnesota or twenty fifth,
- 35:42Speaker 4: and you know that's not easy. Now bar two has
- 35:44Speaker 4: said he's a good recruiter. But still they're up in Minneapolis.
- 35:47Speaker 4: I know Mississippi State plays Minnesota. We talked about it
- 35:50Speaker 4: yesterday in week two, and they're returning their starting quarterback
- 35:54Speaker 4: who played in all thirteen games and had a ton
- 35:56Speaker 4: of attempts.
- 35:57Speaker 3: Now, he's not adult.
- 35:59Speaker 4: I mean, I think he can move around a little bit, okay,
- 36:01Speaker 4: but he sixty five two hundred and thirty pounds. Boy,
- 36:04Speaker 4: but he played a ton. I mean he played way
- 36:07Speaker 4: more than Camrio. Now he's not the athlete that Camarrio
- 36:11Speaker 4: is by any stretch, but he's more polished passer. But
- 36:15Speaker 4: then again, you know, Camrio could break the Minnesota defense
- 36:18Speaker 4: down with his you know, legs and so on with
- 36:22Speaker 4: his feet. Whatever is there anything else that jumps out
- 36:25Speaker 4: at me?
- 36:26Speaker 3: Here?
- 36:26Speaker 4: Kentucky's new coach is kicking it their number twenty look
- 36:29Speaker 4: out so will Stein, who were not sure if he's
- 36:32Speaker 4: a real person, But will Stein is the head football
- 36:35Speaker 4: coach at Kentucky. He was Oregon's oc. They're racking up
- 36:39Speaker 4: some players, but old Miss is in the top twenty
- 36:43Speaker 4: at seventeen. Golding and his staff are doing a good job.
- 36:46Speaker 4: They've got ten four stars and nine to three stars,
- 36:49Speaker 4: nineteen commits in Oxford.
- 36:51Speaker 3: For old Myths.
- 36:54Speaker 4: Just to keep an eye on what on what they're doing,
- 36:57Speaker 4: Somebody asked about Mississippi State on the Dancing Rabbit Golf
- 37:00Speaker 4: tax line fortieth Are they fortieth? Oht whack at it?
- 37:04Speaker 4: I don't see them in the top nice they're fifty fourth,
- 37:10Speaker 4: fifty four. Okay, So Mississippi State, let me give you
- 37:14Speaker 4: some teams that are around MSU right now. They're fifty
- 37:19Speaker 4: fourth in the country. They have one four star and
- 37:21Speaker 4: fourteen three stars committed. Fifty fourth in the country. So
- 37:27Speaker 4: I'll give you. I'll give you the four teams before
- 37:31Speaker 4: them and four teams after where they're ranked currently. Okay,
- 37:36Speaker 4: Purdue is fiftieth, Cincinnati fifty one, Kansas fifty two, I
- 37:41Speaker 4: feel like that. I'm talking college basketball, and Stanford fifty three.
- 37:45Speaker 7: All right.
- 37:45Speaker 4: They just flipped a guy from Stanford who's out of Tupelow.
- 37:49Speaker 4: He was committed to Stanford. Now he's going to Mississippi
- 37:51Speaker 4: State anyway, all right. So MSU at fifty four, y'all
- 37:54Speaker 4: follow me all right behind MSU first four teams, Michigan State,
- 38:02Speaker 4: Florida State, South Carolina, and Iowa, and then Beilama at
- 38:11Speaker 4: Illinois fifty ninth.
- 38:14Speaker 3: So that's that's what Tennessee's fortieth is kind of a surprise.
- 38:18Speaker 1: You know.
- 38:18Speaker 4: It's weird though this day and age, some people I
- 38:21Speaker 4: think are going to go portal heavy some years, high
- 38:23Speaker 4: school heavy some years. Kind of depends on what's going on.
- 38:28Speaker 4: Mike Attilier told us yesterday CJ. Carr out of Notre
- 38:32Speaker 4: Dame maybe the best quarterback in the country, to go
- 38:35Speaker 4: along with Trinidad Arch, Dante More, the dude of Oklahoma State,
- 38:39Speaker 4: and several others out there that can ball. Oh Julian
- 38:46Speaker 4: saying he's not as mobile as I would like him
- 38:49Speaker 4: to be, but he's a good player, and I don't
- 38:51Speaker 4: know how easy. I don't know how great he has
- 38:54Speaker 4: to be with their personnel. I'm not saying he's not skilled,
- 38:59Speaker 4: but throw it out there. Yeah, Jeremi Smith can give
- 39:02Speaker 4: it now. Jeremih Smith is an absolute.
- 39:07Speaker 2: Dude, no.
- 39:10Speaker 4: Either, no one in college football. He's a wide receiver
- 39:13Speaker 4: for our listeners for Ohio State. He's going to be
- 39:15Speaker 4: one of oh my god, thirty eight that had been
- 39:20Speaker 4: drafted in the first round in the last I don't
- 39:21Speaker 4: know how many years. I mean, because look what the
- 39:23Speaker 4: Saints have done alone. But just look around the league
- 39:26Speaker 4: with Ohio State wide receivers. Good Lord, they're everywhere, I know, ridiculous,
- 39:31Speaker 4: and they just they're they're like a couple of the
- 39:35Speaker 4: SEC teams LSU and and some others. It's just filthy.
- 39:38Speaker 4: I know Bama went through that run too, where they
- 39:42Speaker 4: were they were kicking out some great, great, great.
- 39:47Speaker 3: Wide receivers.
- 39:48Speaker 4: Right, somebody asked about Arkansas Ron Silverfield who left Memphis
- 39:52Speaker 4: to go to Arkansas, which you should have Yeah too,
- 39:56Speaker 4: even if it doesn't work, he's getting generationally wealthy. Ryan
- 40:01Speaker 4: Silverfield has Arkansas at twenty ninth in the country. So
- 40:07Speaker 4: he did a good job at Memphis. Bar two's not
- 40:10Speaker 4: totally sold, but he didn't do a bad job at Memphis, So.
- 40:13Speaker 3: I don't know what that means.
- 40:14Speaker 4: And by the way, drink Wits at Missouri, which it's
- 40:17Speaker 4: like the team nobody cares about. God bless him. He
- 40:20Speaker 4: wins and they still don't care. Drink Wits at Missouri.
- 40:24Speaker 4: They're twenty sixth. So that's what you're looking at there.
- 40:29Speaker 4: As far as recruiting, the old miss recruiting does not
- 40:31Speaker 4: surprise me whatsoever. First of all, Pete Golding's a good recruiter.
- 40:37Speaker 4: They're more committed to it. He demands that his assistant
- 40:40Speaker 4: coaches recruit their blank off and Pete saw it with
- 40:44Speaker 4: saving has been doing it at Old Miss and they're
- 40:48Speaker 4: going to get out and they did a good job
- 40:54Speaker 4: getting kids from I don't want to say I mean
- 40:58Speaker 4: Mississippi state towns because Miss has people and they both
- 41:01Speaker 4: have alums and fans in all these towns. But you
- 41:06Speaker 4: know where I'm going. It does not surprise me whatsoever.
- 41:13Speaker 2: Man, Jarren Smith. So good. You do have the new
- 41:16Speaker 2: uh college football hea college football game coming out? When's
- 41:20Speaker 2: it come out? I believe I want to say it's
- 41:22Speaker 2: this weekend.
- 41:23Speaker 4: Actually, that's a good that's a good time to drop
- 41:25Speaker 4: it is because you know, summer a little downtime play
- 41:30Speaker 4: play play, and.
- 41:33Speaker 3: I guess my son plays that. He's got a.
- 41:36Speaker 4: Game system, but I don't know which one it is.
- 41:38Speaker 4: You got the no, I should know. I think he's
- 41:41Speaker 4: a PlayStation kid. They do have the Yeah, I guess
- 41:45Speaker 4: the big talk's been around, you know, the the players
- 41:48Speaker 4: obviously in the game, and the ratings that they give them.
- 41:50Speaker 2: Remember you remember how Madden ratings were.
- 41:52Speaker 4: You know they actually had people, Yeah, like they had
- 41:54Speaker 4: full time jobs to go and scout and make the ratings.
- 41:58Speaker 2: Okay, they have to do that.
- 42:00Speaker 3: For this, they didn't just have an algorithm set up. Okay,
- 42:03Speaker 3: go ahead.
- 42:03Speaker 4: Whoever these guys were, they were pretty important to themselves.
- 42:07Speaker 4: But they had two guys that would literally go to
- 42:09Speaker 4: the combines, go this through that. They were the Madden
- 42:11Speaker 4: ratings guys. So you're ratings guys, whoever they may be.
- 42:16Speaker 4: They gave jeremih Smith. He's obviously number on player in
- 42:18Speaker 4: the nation and overall.
- 42:20Speaker 3: Yeah, he's Yes.
- 42:22Speaker 2: Now there is an old missplayer in the top ten, Trinidad.
- 42:26Speaker 4: It's not Trinidad Lacy womb Okay, well, I mean he's
- 42:30Speaker 4: a phenomenal running back.
- 42:32Speaker 3: He made play after play last year.
- 42:34Speaker 4: Granted there was actually some good blocking, but he also
- 42:37Speaker 4: wouldn't make people miss and when he gets to the
- 42:39Speaker 4: second level he can hurt you. Is there no question
- 42:41Speaker 4: about it. They've got he's got two of the top
- 42:43Speaker 4: five players in the whole game. A Mott Hardy Mott
- 42:46Speaker 4: Hardy and a half back of course.
- 42:48Speaker 2: And then Cayden Green. Oh yeah, left tackle.
- 42:51Speaker 4: Okay, I think I heard mcshagh talking about him in
