- 0:00SPEAKER_02: I'm not gonna lie, it's uh it's either people just never kind of knew what was happening with pop culture, or maybe they were born before those movies came out.
- 0:08SPEAKER_02: But you gotta figure some of the OG classic horror movies.
- 0:11SPEAKER_02: Uh we're talking the original Halloween.
- 0:13SPEAKER_02: Wasn't it 1980?
- 0:15SPEAKER_02: Uh hold on a second.
- 0:16SPEAKER_02: Pretty sure it was 1980, and if I'm not mistaken, Friday the 13th was the very end of the 70s.
- 0:23SPEAKER_01: So I mean it's possible that Halloween came out oh my god.
- 0:27SPEAKER_01: That's a stupid thing.
- 0:29SPEAKER_01: 78.
- 0:30SPEAKER_02: Oh, it's 78.
- 0:31SPEAKER_01: And then what was the other one you said you wanted to?
- 0:32SPEAKER_02: Uh Friday the 13th.
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 0:35SPEAKER_02: And the reason that I say that is um because 80.
- 0:39SPEAKER_02: 80, okay.
- 0:40SPEAKER_02: Oh, I knew one of them was 80.
- 0:41SPEAKER_01: What a time.
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: You guys were living in the best time of the the scariest movies.
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: Good for you.
- 0:47SPEAKER_02: Let me tell you, it was one of those funny moments, you know, when when Tiffany's mom this is not funny, when her mom had passed over a little over a month ago.
- 0:55SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 0:56SPEAKER_02: No, but the the majority of her family was staying at their uh uncle's Airbnb, which is right next to his house.
- 1:04SPEAKER_02: And the uh three boys that are her nephews that are oh, they range in age from like Gavin's age up to 18, right?
- 1:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:12SPEAKER_02: And they love classic horror movies.
- 1:15SPEAKER_02: And at one point, Halloween was on, and Tiffany walks by, she goes, checking out those 1980s boobs, aren't you?
- 1:22SPEAKER_02: Oh, that's hilarious.
- 1:23SPEAKER_02: Because you what that's what it was.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: When is the your age that you're going to expose that to Gavin, or he just doesn't like that stuff?
- 1:30SPEAKER_02: I don't know if he is gonna you know where he'd watch that at his cousin's house?
- 1:34SPEAKER_02: Two things.
- 1:35SPEAKER_02: Two more, two more years, hopefully.
- 1:37SPEAKER_02: That's when he's gonna be interested in 1980s boobs.
- 1:39SPEAKER_02: Uh-huh.
- 1:40SPEAKER_02: But the other part, the movie itself, because you gotta remember, those movies for this generation, Gen Alpha, the end of Gen Z, they move real slow.
- 1:49SPEAKER_02: They're not they don't hold up?
- 1:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, well, they they do in a weird way, but it's we're so used to movies being hit you in the face and think of like an Avengers.
- 1:59SPEAKER_02: Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom.
- 2:01SPEAKER_01: And I like a slow burn.
- 2:02SPEAKER_02: When these are slow burns.
- 2:04SPEAKER_02: So I think these movies get introduced to the to younger people quite fam frankly, like in a setting where they're all together and they're just like, you know, you you kind of catch it, you're like, oh wow.
- 2:16SPEAKER_01: I watched it for the first time.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: That was one of my first scary movies that I watched.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: And it was with my cousin Andrea because we were that was the house where you got away with doing bad stuff.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: You know, she was the she was kind of the black sheep of the family.
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: Oh, there it is.
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: So that's where I watched that.
- 2:30SPEAKER_01: I watched um Oh, what was the one with the bees that were coming out of his mouth?
- 2:36SPEAKER_02: Uh, what was it?
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: Wicker Man?
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: What'd you say?
- 2:40SPEAKER_02: Wicker Man?
- 2:41SPEAKER_02: That's that classic scene with um Oh god, what's his face?
- 2:45SPEAKER_02: Uh it on the tip of my tongue.
- 2:47SPEAKER_02: Um, he's like, not the bees, the bees.
- 2:50SPEAKER_01: No, it's not this one.
- 2:52SPEAKER_01: Gosh, I can't think of it.
- 2:53SPEAKER_01: Well, anyway.
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: I I'll I'll I'll I'll try to think of it.
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: Actually, I'm sure somebody who's listening is like, yep, I know exactly what movie you're talking about.
- 3:00SPEAKER_01: But anyway, so yeah, I think Gavin should be exposed.
- 3:02SPEAKER_01: Candyman.
- 3:03SPEAKER_01: That is.
- 3:04SPEAKER_02: Oh, they had bees coming out of his mouth.
- 3:06SPEAKER_02: Oh, that's great.
- 3:07SPEAKER_02: Yes, and it was so- I don't think I've ever seen that movie.
- 3:09SPEAKER_01: Freaky!
- 3:09SPEAKER_02: I don't think.
- 3:10SPEAKER_01: Well, maybe it was because I was so young.
- 3:11SPEAKER_01: It was super freaky.
- 3:12SPEAKER_02: Oh, for sure it was, yes.
- 3:14SPEAKER_02: I don't think I remember uh yeah, I don't I don't think I uh I don't think I saw Candyman.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: Um, here's another one.
- 3:22SPEAKER_02: Oh, here's one for the play this one.
- 3:24SPEAKER_02: Let's see if I can uh what is it?
- 3:28SPEAKER_02: What is it?
- 3:30SPEAKER_02: What is it?
- 3:31SPEAKER_02: What is it?
- 3:31SPEAKER_02: What is it?
- 3:32SPEAKER_02: Nicholas Cage things! Sounds like Alley.
- 3:47SPEAKER_02: Seriously.
- 3:49SPEAKER_02: Wait, let's play this one right now.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: I know a Jason Voorhees.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: He lives in Ithaca, New York, or actually the Newfield area.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: Matracks.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: Um, always used to laugh and uh kind of cut up on this kid.
- 4:06SPEAKER_02: Um I see what you did there, cut up on this kid.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: There is a Jason Voorhees in the Ithaca Newfield area.
- 4:13SPEAKER_02: So, not knowing their age, it's one of two things.
- 4:15SPEAKER_02: It's either they were born before those movies, so the name Jason Voorhees makes no, you know, for their parents was not referenced to the movie, or they were born after and the parents were just like, I don't care.
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: Or you named it after the movies because you loved it so much.
- 4:29SPEAKER_01: Although it's just after a slasher movie?
- 4:32SPEAKER_01: Why not?
- 4:33SPEAKER_01: If you're really into it.
- 4:35SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 4:35SPEAKER_01: Like maybe you I'm I wouldn't name my kid Norman Bates, but maybe you're you would name your kid Norman Bates, or you would name your kid um Art after Art the Clown from the Terrifier.
- 4:46SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 4:47SPEAKER_01: Art.
- 4:47SPEAKER_01: I'm just I'm not sure.
- 4:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's what you see.
- 4:48SPEAKER_02: A gen alpha named Art.
- 4:50SPEAKER_01: You know, same with Jason.
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: Jason's an older name now.
- 4:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I know.
- 4:54SPEAKER_01: So that's that's why I'm guessing it's probably you were born before the movie.
- 4:59SPEAKER_01: Oh I don't know.
- 5:00SPEAKER_02: Hang on, we got another one here.
- 5:01SPEAKER_02: Which one's yours?
- 5:02SPEAKER_02: Cousin's name is Michael Myers.
- 5:04SPEAKER_02: Oh, it's cousin's name, yeah.
- 5:05SPEAKER_01: Cool.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: I know it is sort of cool.
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: It's really cool.
- 5:09SPEAKER_01: I wish I had a horror movie name.
- 5:10SPEAKER_02: Well, at any rate, uh the person that had uh mentioned uh they knew a Jason Voorhees that got in first, we gave them the comedy club ticket.
- 5:18SPEAKER_02: Well, if they if they take them.
- 5:19SPEAKER_02: If they're like, Oh, I can't go, then I'll put them back in.
- 5:21SPEAKER_02: I'll give them away later.
- 5:22SPEAKER_02: I just texted, I'm waiting to hear back from them.
- 5:24SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 5:24SPEAKER_02: Well, we know you're up because you texted us the answer, so can you let us know if he can use them?
