- 0:04SPEAKER_00: Hi there.
- 0:05SPEAKER_00: I'm your host, Corinne, and this is Okay But Are You Good?
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: Where we check in on ourselves on a weekly basis to see how we're doing.
- 0:12SPEAKER_00: Are we living our best lives and we just trying to get by?
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: Well, I can't believe it, but it's about to be October in a few days, and man, does time fly.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: It's like the year never even happened, or it just happened so quickly.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: And it happened so quick that it's about to be October and Halloween Thanksgiving and all the holidays.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: It's just I do like this time of year.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: I love Halloween and Thanksgiving.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: So I'm excited for it to be the fall and spooky season.
- 0:43SPEAKER_00: And with it about to be October means we're in the last quarter of the year.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: And with it being the last quarter of the year, that means if you haven't gotten your life together, now is your last chance to get it together.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: A lot of people consider this the winter arc where you lock in, you disappear for three months, nail your routine down, wake up at 5 a.m., work out, eat healthy, and you become incredibly productive.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: And then by January, you're just set up for success.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: And I love it.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: It's very motivating, especially when it's all online and you're like, okay, all these people are doing it.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: I want to do it.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: But on the other hand, I want to enjoy the last quarter of the year and still be productive at the same time.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: So today we're really just going to focus on how is it already the last quarter of the year?
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: Like what happened in this last nine months?
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: And what do we want these last three months to look like?
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: And I don't really entirely know what I want these last three months to look like.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: I know what I don't want it to look like, but doing some reflecting and thinking back like, what did I do this year?
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: Where did the year go?
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: And there's a lot I accomplished and there's a lot I didn't.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: You know, I pushed myself to run my first marathon, doing a half, doing another half.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: I got my sleep schedule intact and then I ruined it.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: It's just back and forth, constant.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: I didn't do as much traveling as I thought I was.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: I didn't save as much money as I wish I did.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: And there's a lot of like, oh, I should have done this, or I did do this, and that's great.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: And I learned from it.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: But that's the reality of life of like plans change, obstacles come up.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: Not everything's gonna work out like how you did, but I think everything just happens the way it's supposed to happen.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: I got injured, and I I think my past year I've been on and off injured.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: It's been so annoying.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: But I think when you start a new hobby that can be physically intense as running can be, this is what kind of comes with it, depending on how you take care of yourself and just stuff comes up in it, you just deal with it.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: The one thing I can say that I figured out this year is my routine, and I'm so proud of that.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: And I'm looking forward to like fully getting back into it in this these last three months and then expanding it or maintaining it for 2027.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: Because my routine is really what got me through this year and helped motivate me and having these goals I wanted to get through.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: And I did accomplish my goals, but there was some hiccups there or some curveballs thrown.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: And it's interesting when you look back at your year, you're thinking, like, oh, I remember back in March, this was such a big deal.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: Now I forgot about it, and it doesn't matter.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: Or you're just looking back at the time you spent with people and you're like, oh, that was really fun.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: Like, we should do that again.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: So it's, I know it's still early, but before we know it, it's gonna be New Year's Eve.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: And then we got to do the whole fresh start for 2027.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: So this is the time to, you know, look back.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: How was the year?
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: Did you love it?
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: Did you hate it?
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: Was it a mix of both?
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: What did you learn?
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: What didn't you learn?
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: Because there's always room for improvement, right?
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: And I definitely know I got some stuff to improve on.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: Coming into this episode, I was thinking about like, how did my year look?
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: And I didn't want to focus so much on like what I did and didn't accomplish.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: I was thinking about the fun stuff.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: Like, I gotta go to New Orleans, I gotta go somewhere new, I gotta hang out with my friends and accomplish something off my bucket list, which was to go to New Orleans and keep adding on my go to all 50 states list.
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: So I'm really happy about that.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: And, you know, my best friends moved back to San Diego.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: Now I have all these friends so close to me, and I'm grateful what for these experiences and the people I have in my life.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: So it's it's been a good year and challenging, though, at the same time, but not as challenging as it hasn't been in previous years.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: So I'm I've really been looking back at this year of like, wow, you've accomplished a lot.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: You've made it through these hard times where you thought you weren't gonna get through.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: And like there's been small little milestones because I didn't need this huge year of like, I accomplished 500 things.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: I accomplished my main goal, which is to run a marathon and then keep setting up for more, which I have done.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: And we're we'll see if I bring this into 2027.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: I if I keep getting injured like this, I think I gotta find a new hobby.
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: So we'll see how life goes.
- 5:29SPEAKER_00: But I think it's important to just like live your life and be present and just appreciate how far you've come and the simple things that we are given on our daily basis.
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: Lately, you know, I've been trying to do some reflection of like, okay, what's working, what's not working.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: And, you know, I think my priorities have just changed with certain aspects of my life.
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: And my main priority is myself because I can't get where I want to go if I'm not taking care of myself.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: And I feel like I've let that go a little bit lately.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: So I think that's something I have to keep in the back of my head and bring into these last three months and next year of like life is gonna get in the way, it's not gonna go how you want it to, but don't let it tear you down so far that you can't get back to where you want to go because there's so much pressure to live life a certain way, look a certain way, be a certain way.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: And like everyone's different.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: Everyone has different lives.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: We're all not gonna be the same.
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: Like, that's so boring if we're all doing the same thing all the time.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: So that's why these last few months of next year, like I'm gonna prioritize myself and work on what I want to look forward to next year and like grow more mentally and physically and like career-wise, friendship-wise.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: Just there's so much to get better at.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: And I'm excited about it.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: I'm excited that I can keep growing and learning and change my perspective.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: I'm happy I have the opportunity to do those things and recognize that like the ball is in my court and I'm the only one that can make it happen.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: So I gotta do what's in my control.
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: So that's why I actually enjoy that the reality hit of like, okay, it's about to be October.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: Like, make these choices, set yourself up for success, write down what you want and go for it.
- 7:26SPEAKER_00: And if I get let down or set back, I just have to learn how to jump back on that horse.
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: I think that's something I've been lacking this year, is just like staying focused and not getting so beat down when I can't snap out of it so quickly.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: Because life is what you make of it, right?
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: So I'm trying to live my best life because aren't we all?
- 7:49SPEAKER_00: And that's what brings me into the winter arc.
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: And if you're not chronically online, like me or all my friends, it's as I mentioned before, it's locking in these last three months and creating this life and routine that you want to look and feel your best.
- 8:07SPEAKER_00: So you're already set up for this next year.
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: At least that's my interpretation of it.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: All the videos online, it's wake up at 5 a.m., eat healthy, eat whole foods, work out, read, grow.
- 8:21SPEAKER_00: But I think that's something like I've kind of been working on all year.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: I mean, not waking up at 5 a.m., that's never going to happen.
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: But just essentially it's just locking in on taking care of yourself, like being committed to getting things done while during this winter time, this fall time.
- 8:40SPEAKER_00: For me, I'm doing my own version of a winter arc since I'm not gonna be that 5 a.m.
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: person, and I'm not gonna be not having fun and going out and eating perfectly and working out perfectly.
- 8:53SPEAKER_00: That's just not who I am.
- 8:54SPEAKER_00: I have to make my own schedule and be a little flexible with it because I still want to have fun and take care of myself and lock in.
- 9:02SPEAKER_00: So that's why for my winter arc, I'm focusing on staying present, making sure I'm having fun.
- 9:08SPEAKER_00: Hopefully, I'm going on a trip.
- 9:11SPEAKER_00: Because for me, it's locking in on having something to look forward to and checking things off my to-do list that have been on there for far too long.
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: And I just keep being like, oh, I'll get it done next time.
- 9:22SPEAKER_00: It's it's really just getting back to my routine since I've been injured and making sure I'm adding in something fun to do and being present.
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: And for me, that's setting up for success mentally and physically, and that's all I really want.
- 9:38SPEAKER_00: Because what do you want these last three months to look like?
- 9:41SPEAKER_00: I think that's what I have to think about.
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: You should think about what we're gonna change, what are we gonna add in there?
- 9:48SPEAKER_00: How are we gonna have a good time?
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: Is this pace of life we're living working for us?
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: Do we have to slow down a little bit or speed up?
- 9:55SPEAKER_00: What are we gonna do to enjoy the holidays more, not just be so stressed out?
- 9:59SPEAKER_00: If you're like me and kind of don't love the holidays, and maybe like, is there something you've been putting off that you need to actually get done before the end of the year so you're not regretting not getting it done starting in 2027?
- 10:15SPEAKER_00: There's a lot to think about.
- 10:16SPEAKER_00: This is the time to like set goals and still maintain a good time, and that is something that is easier said than done.
- 10:25SPEAKER_00: And luckily, three months is a long time, even if it was just one month, it's still a long time.
- 10:30SPEAKER_00: You can get a lot accomplished in a month, and you can still make plans to go somewhere, enjoy, go see your friend you haven't seen in nine months, try a new restaurant, go to a new city, just try a new coffee shop, you know, keep it simple.
- 10:48SPEAKER_00: I think the beauty in having this endless amount of time, it almost feels like, is that what you make of it what you want.
- 10:56SPEAKER_00: You can have fun, you can work on your routine, you can lock in and really go ham, or you can just like chill out a little bit.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: Because I'm just trying to live my best life, make some good memories, enjoy this upcoming holiday season, but still nail down what gets me through the day.
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: I don't think this last quarter has to be like life-changing, and you have to really start waking up super early and doing load up on all these routine changes, or just have everything figured out magically overnight.
- 11:31SPEAKER_00: Like habits take time, routines take time, figuring out what you want by the end of the year and going into next year, like that takes time.
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna take the time I have to figure out really what works for me, what I want out of the rest of the year, how I'm gonna enjoy it.
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: I'm trying to go to a pumpkin patch and carve some pumpkins, maybe have a Friendsgiving.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: Just like do things I've been wanting to do that I haven't done since I was a kid.
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: That's kind of what I'm gonna add into it.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: Just do the fun stuff, watch some spooky movies, not scary, just spooky, or um, something simple.
- 12:07SPEAKER_00: And if I accomplish something off my to-do list or try something new, amazing.
- 12:12SPEAKER_00: This is gonna be something I pat myself on the back later on in the into the new year.
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: Because there's a difference between being intentional and goal focused and just trying to optimize every second of your day.
- 12:26SPEAKER_00: And I'm trying to just be more intentional and manage my own expectations and recognize what works and what doesn't work for me.
- 12:34SPEAKER_00: It's just being realistic, I guess, of what I can accomplish, what I can work on, and what I can do to just have fun.
- 12:43SPEAKER_00: Because it's about to be October 1st, the last quarter of the year.
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: I still can't believe it.
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: I'm looking forward to enjoying these last three months, locking in in my own way, which is just maintaining my routine and throwing some fun present stuff in there.
- 13:00SPEAKER_00: Because I really just want to enjoy the season.
- 13:03SPEAKER_00: I want to be happy and I want to end the year and start the year feeling refreshed and excited to see what life is gonna bring me.
- 13:12SPEAKER_00: So that's our little last quarter of the year.
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: Check in.
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: So do with it what you will, make it your own and have fun with it.
- 13:21SPEAKER_00: And don't forget to ask yourself, okay, but are you good?
- 13:25SPEAKER_00: Thank you so much for listening in.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: Make sure to like and subscribe, and I'll catch you all next week.
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: Bye.
