- 0:18Join Kim every morning from one of her favorite happy places,
- 0:21her chicken coop along with all her chickens.
- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning. From the porch, it is pouring
- 0:31with a rock and thunderstorm happening and I decided not to
- 0:36venture into the chicken coop quite yet.
- 0:38Still dark. I'm like I'm going to do it out
- 0:41on the porch today. So we're talking about the fact
- 0:45that it's okay to disconnect from that outside world.
- 0:50You know, often times I get. Very deep questions from my
- 0:56clients about certain things, whereas is it okay like they're
- 0:59looking for permission for things.
- 1:01And you know, obviously we as human beings have to give
- 1:04ourselves our own permission. Nobody else is going to do it
- 1:07for us. We can look for outsides, you
- 1:09know, guidance or acceptance of what we're doing, but ultimately
- 1:13the decision is always ours, what we're going to do and.
- 1:17Sometimes I think we feel like we're obligated to certain
- 1:21aspects of things because it's what other people are doing and
- 1:25one of those is staying up on current events.
- 1:27One of those is staying engaged in the drama of the outside
- 1:31world and you know, so that you're informed.
- 1:35And I always love it when they say that to me.
- 1:36They're like, well, when you say be mindful, stay focused on the
- 1:40the things around you, stay focused on the immediacy of of
- 1:45your world. And disconnect from the news
- 1:47because it's so negative. I feel like I'm doing a
- 1:50disservice to myself and to other people because I'm quote
- 1:54UN quote uninformed. And to me that is not being
- 1:58uninformed, that's few. That's working towards being
- 2:01informed in a different direction.
- 2:03Because you're being informed about your well-being, you're
- 2:05being informed about what makes you feel good, you're staying
- 2:08informed about certain aspects of your life and you're not
- 2:13tapping into. The quote UN quote news.
- 2:15Now one thing that I really want to point out is there is all
- 2:20types of directions that you can go with this.
- 2:24So there are all types of directions you can go with this.
- 2:27And the the news generally pulls from the negative part of the
- 2:32world. It generally pulls all the
- 2:33things that are wrong. So what is the reason for that?
- 2:36What? What are they trying to go for
- 2:38when they just stay focused on the negative?
- 2:40Well, a big reason for that is because you've heard me say many
- 2:43times before, if you're a regular listener, that human
- 2:46beings are wired for negativity. And there is a big reason for
- 2:50that. It's to protect us.
- 2:51It's to make us Wow, did you hear that Thunder lightning
- 2:55strike? It it's to make us stay safe.
- 3:00That's the reason behind it, because if we know all the
- 3:03negative things, then we can theoretically be safe.
- 3:07But it's just a theory about staying safe.
- 3:10And when you stay in it every single day and you have a
- 3:12healthy dose of negativity every day, does it really help you?
- 3:16And the answer is no, it does not.
- 3:19It actually poisons your system. It actually makes you sick.
- 3:23It actually gets you to start thinking about things you've
- 3:26never thought of before. And because we have a pre, a
- 3:30predisposition to looking at the negative of the world, we accept
- 3:35it. And then we say, oh, I've got to
- 3:36be afraid of that, or oh, I've got to stay focused on that.
- 3:39And we don't. We absolutely do not.
- 3:42Do we have to take information into?
- 3:45You know, for the safety of our life, of course, sure.
- 3:48But when you're doing it at such a level, in such a way as it's
- 3:51an everyday thing, it's an everyday occurrence.
- 3:53You're pouring into that part of it.
- 3:55It is not healthy, my friends. It causes all kinds of problems
- 4:01in your psychology, in your subconscious, everywhere around
- 4:05you, your external world. So the important thing to
- 4:09remember is. It's okay to disconnect and I'm
- 4:12here to tell you I do that a lot.
- 4:16Most of the time I will jump on if I need to hear something,
- 4:21just to say if someone says to me, hey, did you hear this
- 4:23happened, I might jump on and read what it was about, just so
- 4:25I know. But for the most part, I choose
- 4:28to create my world around me and I choose to keep the negativity
- 4:34out of it. I don't choose to do this like I
- 4:36have. OK, I have a weather app.
- 4:38The weather app lets me know what's going on.
- 4:40That's great. I let it give me alerts so I
- 4:42know, hey, there is a hurricane coming or hey, we've got bad
- 4:45lightning. Like I knew this afternoon it
- 4:47was, we were going to have bad lightning.
- 4:49So the next morning I knew there was going to be more lightning
- 4:53coming. So I was ready.
- 4:55I was completely prepared. So I think it's a it.
- 4:59It is a very big. Leap to say to yourself, I give
- 5:05myself permission to just chill out.
- 5:08I give myself permission to not know.
- 5:10I give myself permission to relax about all these details.
- 5:15I give myself permission to not worry about what other people
- 5:17think. I give myself permission to just
- 5:20say, you know what, If I feel crappy about something, then I'm
- 5:24going to do something about it. Regardless of what anybody else
- 5:27thinks, I'm going to do myself a favor.
- 5:30And I'm going to let go of all this other stuff, so work on it.
- 5:35Give yourself permission. I promise it's life changing.
- 5:39All right, my friends, I hope you have a blessed day and I
- 5:42will see you all tomorrow. Bye.
