- 0:00Speaker 1: What's better than two hours of Marc Simone?
- 0:03Speaker 2: Three!
- 0:04Speaker 1: The Marc Simone Show. Now nine till noon weekdays.
- 0:08Speaker 3: 710WOR.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Hey, it's hour number two.
- 0:14Speaker 2: That's right, two. We start at nine o'clock every morning now.
- 0:18Speaker 2: A lot to get to. A lot of debates last night.
- 0:21Speaker 2: We'll get to that. We'll get to the Yankees. We'll
- 0:23Speaker 2: get to the crazy Brad Lander. And more coming up. Hey,
- 0:29Speaker 2: you know, there's a new thing that, uh, is starting
- 0:31Speaker 2: to be used. You know, they have, uh, uh, well, first,
- 0:35Speaker 2: first it was radar guns. You know, when this cop
- 0:38Speaker 2: hiding in the bushes can measure your speed limit, he
- 0:40Speaker 2: knows if you're speeding. And that was years ago. And
- 0:43Speaker 2: then along came the red light cameras. If you go
- 0:47Speaker 2: through the red light, the camera will, uh, record that
- 0:50Speaker 2: and take a picture of your car going through it. Uh,
- 0:54Speaker 2: Then the next thing was those speed cameras. It doesn't
- 0:57Speaker 2: even have to be a cop there. If you're speeding,
- 1:01Speaker 2: it will see that you're speeding, take a picture of
- 1:03Speaker 2: your car speeding. You'll get mailed a ticket. So now
- 1:06Speaker 2: the new thing that is being rolled out, stop sign cameras.
- 1:13Speaker 2: This is the most annoying one ever. The camera's in
- 1:17Speaker 2: the stop sign. It will see if you came to
- 1:20Speaker 2: a complete stop. It will know exactly how you have
- 1:26Speaker 2: to complete stop. It'll see exactly how long you stop.
- 1:30Speaker 2: So you can't do one of those rolling stops where
- 1:33Speaker 2: you kind of slow down. What do they call that?
- 1:38Speaker 2: You know, a rolling stop. You can't do that because
- 1:41Speaker 2: you'll never actually stop. So you'll get a ticket. Now,
- 1:45Speaker 2: this is a little controversial. The village, beautiful town of
- 1:50Speaker 2: Upper Brookville, that's in Long Island. It's the North Shore.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Upper Brookville, they had a town debate over whether to
- 1:58Speaker 2: install these. Now, Upper Brookville, it's a beautiful place. But
- 2:03Speaker 2: you only got like four cars. Since when do you
- 2:06Speaker 2: have such a problem with stop signs? There's three cars
- 2:09Speaker 2: driving around. Don't worry about it. So watch for that.
- 2:13Speaker 2: So the problem is this digital stuff. You know, in baseball,
- 2:17Speaker 2: balls and strikes, sometimes the umpire's wrong.
- 2:20Speaker 4: Now.
- 2:21Speaker 2: They got like a digital thing that'll tell you exactly
- 2:24Speaker 2: where the ball, exactly. It's kind of annoying. I mean,
- 2:29Speaker 2: it's good for balls and strikes, but stop sign cameras?
- 2:33Speaker 2: This is getting ridiculous. A lot of debates last night.
- 2:36Speaker 2: There was a big Texas debate. You got Ken Paxton, Tallarico.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Ken Paxton, the Republican candidate. Oh, he's got his problems.
- 2:46Speaker 2: But this Tallarico is a raging nut job. But He's
- 2:51Speaker 2: doing better than he should be. And one reason is
- 2:54Speaker 2: the whole Bush world, Bush family, Karl Rove, all these
- 2:58Speaker 2: people came out against Paxton. They're back in Tallarica. Why?
- 3:02Speaker 2: I don't know. Listen, the Bush people hate Trump. Hate Trump. Listen,
- 3:09Speaker 2: I can understand it. It was the Clinton dynasty. It
- 3:12Speaker 2: was the Bush dynasty. It was Bush Sr. Then Bush Jr.
- 3:16Speaker 2: was president. Jeb Bush was next in line. The Bush dynasty.
- 3:21Speaker 2: And Trump wiped it out. He stopped the whole Bush
- 3:24Speaker 2: dynasty dead in its tracks, finished them off, and they're done.
- 3:28Speaker 2: So you can't blame them for killing the family business.
- 3:32Speaker 2: You can't blame them for hating Donald Trump. But they
- 3:37Speaker 2: don't have to go crazy supporting the nutjob Tallarico, the Democrat.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Last night's debate, here's Paxton.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Do you want to debate him?
- 3:45Speaker 5: Do you have the desire to or not?
- 3:48Speaker 6: Look, if the terms were right, I'd have no problem.
- 3:51Speaker 2: What are your terms? So in terms of debating, I.
- 3:54Speaker 6: Don't want to end up with a CNN reporter covering
- 3:57Speaker 6: the debate. So, you know, I don't know what all
- 4:01Speaker 6: the terms are, but I do know I don't want
- 4:02Speaker 6: a CNN reporter covering our debate, which is what it
- 4:05Speaker 6: initially was talking about.
- 4:07Speaker 2: That's not a bad point. That's not a bad point.
- 4:09Speaker 2: I want a legitimate debate with a real neutral moderator.
- 4:12Speaker 2: That's a legitimate point. Unlike Kathy Hochul said, I'll only
- 4:15Speaker 2: debate on New York One, which is the most left-wing
- 4:18Speaker 2: slanted thing in the world, and it's only got 12 viewers.
- 4:21Speaker 2: I mean, that was kind of crazy. Tallarico? Hey, Ken,
- 4:25Speaker 2: it's James.
- 4:26Speaker 5: I'm calling to invite you to a debate on Fox News.
- 4:30Speaker 5: Texans start voting in less than a month, and they
- 4:33Speaker 5: deserve to hear from both of us before they do.
- 4:36Speaker 5: I've accepted four local TV debates, but we haven't heard
- 4:39Speaker 5: from you, and we're running out of time. So if
- 4:42Speaker 5: Fox News is where you'll be most comfortable, I'll be there.
- 4:47Speaker 2: It's a pretty good move on the part of Tallarico. Hey,
- 4:50Speaker 2: in Fox News, I know left-wingers claim it's slanted, biased.
- 4:55Speaker 2: It's certainly a conservative network, but they've been pretty down
- 4:59Speaker 2: the middle the last couple of years. They've been critical
- 5:03Speaker 2: of Trump. If you watch that Katie Zakaria, when she
- 5:07Speaker 2: went on Hannity, boy, he hit her with the tough questions.
- 5:09Speaker 2: There were no softballs there. And again, Fox News can
- 5:13Speaker 2: be very, very critical of Trump when they don't like
- 5:16Speaker 2: something he does. So they've been pretty good at calling
- 5:19Speaker 2: balls and strikes. Unlike MSNOW, unlike CNN. Speaking of baseball,
- 5:27Speaker 2: Hal Steinbrenner, listen, nice guy. He's not George Steinbrenner. In fact,
- 5:34Speaker 2: Curtis said he wants a DNA test to see if
- 5:36Speaker 2: this kid is actually related to Steinbrenner, but... They re-signed
- 5:41Speaker 2: Brian Cashman to a whole new contract. You've got to
- 5:44Speaker 2: give Brian Cashman credit. This guy is a genius at
- 5:49Speaker 2: hanging on to his job. He's a very nice guy,
- 5:53Speaker 2: but they lose. <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL>
- 5:57Speaker 2: And he gets a new contract. I don't know what
- 5:59Speaker 2: the hell this guy has been doing, but he's obviously
- 6:01Speaker 2: good at it. This will be his 30th year on
- 6:04Speaker 2: the job. And pretty good. Aaron Boone will be back. uh,
- 6:11Speaker 2: for his 10th season, give him credit. He hasn't won
- 6:14Speaker 2: in 10 years. He got, he's coming back. Uh, Hal
- 6:17Speaker 2: Steinbrenner defended both of them. Now this is strange. He said,
- 6:22Speaker 2: the bottom line is the players didn't live up to
- 6:25Speaker 2: their end of the bargain in the playoffs, the offense,
- 6:29Speaker 2: not the pitching, but the offense had a big part.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Why didn't we get to where we strive to get
- 6:34Speaker 2: every year? So he's blaming the players. Um, Well, George
- 6:40Speaker 2: would do that, but you'd do it privately. Say it publicly. Oh,
- 6:45Speaker 2: here's Hal Steinbrenner. It was a Zoom call.
- 6:49Speaker 7: Yes, we failed at the goal this year, but that
- 6:52Speaker 7: is always our goal, which is why we put so
- 6:54Speaker 7: much effort and resources into the roster every offseason to
- 6:59Speaker 7: field a team that can accomplish that. I thought Boone
- 7:02Speaker 7: managed a good season. The bottom line is the players
- 7:05Speaker 7: didn't live up to their end of the bargain in
- 7:08Speaker 7: the playoffs.
- 7:10Speaker 2: I don't know i don't know that's.
- 7:11Speaker 7: Uh i have never suggested that a season like this
- 7:14Speaker 7: season is a success uh i am often asked was
- 7:18Speaker 7: the entire season a failure winning 93 games is not
- 7:22Speaker 7: a failure i mean making playing in the division series
- 7:26Speaker 7: is not a failure it became a failure because we
- 7:29Speaker 7: did not.
- 7:29Speaker 2: Do well he's got a point there you know you
- 7:33Speaker 2: got to be a hell of a good team if
- 7:35Speaker 2: uh You know, not winning the World Series is considered
- 7:38Speaker 2: a bad year. I mean, the fact that he got
- 7:40Speaker 2: to the wild card, pretty good. For any other team,
- 7:43Speaker 2: that'd be very, very impressive. So give him a little credit.
- 7:49Speaker 2: Governor's race. Hey, Bruce Blakeman got a big endorsement. The
- 7:52Speaker 2: New York State Court Officers Union. It's a big deal
- 7:56Speaker 2: because they never endorse. They never endorse. You know, the
- 7:59Speaker 2: police unions, most of the unions, they do an endorsement
- 8:02Speaker 2: every time. But this is unusual, highly unusual. A candidate
- 8:05Speaker 2: has to really be special for these guys to do this.
- 8:08Speaker 2: The New York State court officers now backing Bruce Blakeman,
- 8:13Speaker 2: and they said it's about public safety. Now, what would
- 8:16Speaker 2: make them all of a sudden come out and do
- 8:17Speaker 2: an endorsement? They don't ever do that. Well, remember, they're
- 8:21Speaker 2: court officers. They're in the courtroom every day watching criminals
- 8:26Speaker 2: get released because of horrible, horrible DAs like Alvin Bragg.
- 8:32Speaker 2: you know, these left-wing kook DAs that won't put anybody
- 8:34Speaker 2: in jail. You could be a criminal who's been got
- 8:37Speaker 2: a rap sheet a mile long. You just committed a
- 8:38Speaker 2: horrible crime and they'll let you go. They won't, you know, DA, judge,
- 8:43Speaker 2: won't put you in jail. So these court officers must
- 8:46Speaker 2: be frustrated and furious watching this every day with their
- 8:49Speaker 2: own eyes. So they're backing Blakeman. First time they've endorsed
- 8:53Speaker 2: a candidate in forever. You ever get on a plane
- 8:57Speaker 2: and the person in the next seat or A couple
- 9:01Speaker 2: of seats away is a problem. They're making noise or
- 9:04Speaker 2: they're playing music or they're kicking your seat. You ever
- 9:07Speaker 2: have a problem with somebody next to you or they
- 9:10Speaker 2: won't shut up? This might be the worst person you
- 9:15Speaker 2: could sit next to. So the woman wants to fly
- 9:17Speaker 2: first class. She pays for a first class ticket because
- 9:20Speaker 2: she wants a big seat. She wants to recline it back,
- 9:24Speaker 2: sleep during the trip. She's got a seat, window seat,
- 9:28Speaker 2: first class. And the guy next to her After they
- 9:32Speaker 2: take off, he takes out his laptop and he's watching pornography.
- 9:41Speaker 2: And then starts masturbating on the plane. Apparently, he did
- 9:50Speaker 2: have a blanket. Give him credit. He used a blanket,
- 9:52Speaker 2: but his hand was under the blanket making this jerking motion. Uh,
- 9:58Speaker 2: she was horrified. She notified a flight attendant who, uh,
- 10:04Speaker 2: didn't seem to worry about it. She didn't say, are
- 10:07Speaker 2: you okay? Uh, she kept texting her friends about this
- 10:12Speaker 2: while she was on the plane. Finally, the flight crew
- 10:14Speaker 2: agreed to move her and switched her with another passenger. Uh,
- 10:20Speaker 2: But the woman said they didn't do anything to the man. Now,
- 10:23Speaker 2: I don't know, was this Jeffrey Toobin? I don't know,
- 10:25Speaker 2: but I wouldn't think they... When you think on the
- 10:28Speaker 2: airline there's a rule against masturbating on the plane, the
- 10:32Speaker 2: flight crew did move her. They didn't do anything to
- 10:35Speaker 2: the other man. She said, in fact, when the plane
- 10:38Speaker 2: landed and he got off, there was nobody there to
- 10:41Speaker 2: detain him, no police, no anything. The airline didn't notify anybody.
- 10:46Speaker 8: Uh....
- 10:49Speaker 2: She didn't do anything with any police, but they didn't either,
- 10:54Speaker 2: the airline. So reporters contacted United Airlines. Now, apparently airlines
- 11:01Speaker 2: are not required to report passenger sexual misconduct to police
- 11:06Speaker 2: or a federal agency. United Airlines said in a statement,
- 11:09Speaker 2: we take this issue seriously. We spoke with the customer,
- 11:13Speaker 2: apologized for her experience. We also offered her either $ 1, 000
- 11:19Speaker 2: in travel credit or 50,000 miles as an apology. She
- 11:24Speaker 2: accepted the miles. Somebody masturbating in the seat next to you,
- 11:30Speaker 2: I think it's worth more than $ 1, 000. That's a $ 5, 000
- 11:33Speaker 2: gift or 100,000 miles. Oh, here's the good. We have
- 11:37Speaker 2: also banned the masturbator. We have banned that person. Oh,
- 11:42Speaker 2: pending our investigation. He's not completely banned. Pending their investigation. Well,
- 11:48Speaker 2: a United Airlines investigation. That's two junior nobodies they'll assign
- 11:54Speaker 2: to ask a few questions. This investigation will be a big,
- 11:59Speaker 2: what a report it'll be, half a paragraph. They do
- 12:03Speaker 2: say women traveling alone are recommended to choose an aisle
- 12:07Speaker 2: seat if possible. You would think there'd be more consequences
- 12:12Speaker 2: for that guy. President Trump going to Iowa today to campaign.
- 12:17Speaker 2: It was South Carolina yesterday. Bit of a rumble there.
- 12:21Speaker 2: President interrupted at least 12 times by hecklers, but two
- 12:25Speaker 2: of them were really bad hecklers. And then apparently they
- 12:28Speaker 2: got assaulted by Trump fans in the audience.
- 12:32Speaker 4: All right.
- 12:34Speaker 2: In fact, one supporter hit the protester. He actually hit him.
- 12:40Speaker 2: Trump saw it and said, who's the guy that threw
- 12:43Speaker 2: that punch? Trump said from the stage. He said, you
- 12:46Speaker 2: reminded me of Evander Holyfeld. Trump told the senior citizen,
- 12:52Speaker 2: the guy with the punch was a senior citizen. Pretty
- 12:55Speaker 2: good compliment. Hey, speaking of Holyfeld, he's been traveling with Trump.
- 12:59Speaker 2: Mike Tyson traveling with Trump, campaigning with him. That's pretty good.
- 13:04Speaker 2: Remember yesterday, the day before I told you about SpaceX stock,
- 13:10Speaker 2: that they may combine with Tesla. SpaceX stock. and Tesla
- 13:14Speaker 2: might merge into one company that's caused the SpaceX stock
- 13:18Speaker 2: to go up. Well, yesterday in the conference call, Musk
- 13:24Speaker 2: himself in the conference call said, yes, he is considering it. Yes,
- 13:27Speaker 2: it most likely will happen. So SpaceX, Tesla will merge.
- 13:32Speaker 2: If you got some SpaceX stock, maybe you got into
- 13:35Speaker 2: the IPO, it will be a hell of a stock
- 13:38Speaker 2: to have. Boy, George Washington Bridge, Again, a mess today.
- 13:43Speaker 2: There was a terrible motorcycle accident, completely snarled up the
- 13:47Speaker 2: George Washington Bridge. Coming onto the bridge from Manhattan, I
- 13:50Speaker 2: think it's still all clogged up right now. Boy, that
- 13:55Speaker 2: shooting on the bridge, it closed down the bridge for
- 13:57Speaker 2: a long time. It turns out, they looked at the
- 14:00Speaker 2: camera footage, the surveillance, they could see it was road rage.
- 14:04Speaker 2: And the road rage led to one car, the driver
- 14:07Speaker 2: pulling out a gun and shooting the other car. Turns
- 14:10Speaker 2: out it's an ex-cop. This is hard to believe. It's
- 14:12Speaker 2: a very strange story. And the guy he shot looks
- 14:16Speaker 2: like the nicest guy in the world, family man, two kids,
- 14:20Speaker 2: works at Con Edison, been there 20 years. Everybody in
- 14:22Speaker 2: the community said he's the most wonderful family man, a
- 14:25Speaker 2: great guy. How would you get in a road rage
- 14:28Speaker 2: with that guy? And the guy that went crazy and
- 14:31Speaker 2: shot him, an ex-cop. Now, even if somebody cut you
- 14:36Speaker 2: off or there was road rage or something like that,
- 14:39Speaker 2: I mean, it happens. But an ex-cop? This guy should
- 14:42Speaker 2: be so well-trained and disciplined. The last person in the
- 14:45Speaker 2: world to go crazy with a gun should be an ex-cop.
- 14:49Speaker 2: But it happened. Apparently, the ex-cop has confessed to police.
- 14:52Speaker 2: It's going to get arraigned later today. We'll find out more. Hey,
- 14:56Speaker 2: we'll take some calls next. 800-321-0710 is the number. You
- 15:00Speaker 2: always love getting new callers if you've never called before.
- 15:03Speaker 3: 800-321-0710.
- 15:08Speaker 2: From the WOR LifeVac studios. Let's take some calls. Let's
- 15:16Speaker 2: go to Dave in Chicago. Dave, how are you doing?
- 15:20Speaker 9: Good morning, Mark.
- 15:21Speaker 4: I'm doing very well, thank you.
- 15:23Speaker 10: Mark, I saw a report that said in a recent
- 15:26Speaker 10: meeting with Putin, U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared
- 15:31Speaker 10: Kushner said, uh, were in this meeting and Kushner was
- 15:36Speaker 10: way too aggressive with Putin. They said he's not going
- 15:39Speaker 10: to be used in the next round of talks because
- 15:42Speaker 10: Witkoff is much more of a diplomat. The excuse is, uh,
- 15:46Speaker 10: Kushner is ill.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Nah, Kushner's not ill, but I, I know what you mean.
- 15:50Speaker 2: It's a good question, Dave. Uh, yeah. And apparently in
- 15:53Speaker 2: the meeting, Witkoff said, listen, we want to have a
- 15:55Speaker 2: trilateral meeting and we think it would be good. And
- 15:57Speaker 2: Kushner jumped in and said, so, uh, yeah, I, I, uh, uh,
- 16:04Speaker 2: A lot of negotiators could use State Department as career
- 16:07Speaker 2: foreign service. The problem is you can't trust them. They're
- 16:10Speaker 2: a bunch of bureaucrats with briefing books. These are two
- 16:14Speaker 2: highly experienced negotiators, Witkoff and Kushner, and obviously Trump totally
- 16:19Speaker 2: trusts them. They're family. The only problem is they're used
- 16:25Speaker 2: to negotiating business deals, real estate deals. The thing is
- 16:28Speaker 2: when you're negotiating with business people or real estate, no
- 16:31Speaker 2: matter how crazy evil they are, They're business people. In
- 16:34Speaker 2: the end, you can find whatever they want, money, whatever.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Give them something to deal. None of this works when
- 16:42Speaker 2: you're dealing with absolute lunatics like Iranian crazy ayatollahs or
- 16:49Speaker 2: evil lunatic Putin types. So that's the problem. But they've
- 16:54Speaker 2: actually gotten farther than anybody else has so far. So
- 16:57Speaker 2: we'll see what happens. Let's go to Kevin in Nanuet. Kevin,
- 17:02Speaker 2: how are you doing?
- 17:04Speaker 4: Good morning, Mark.
- 17:04Speaker 2: Do you think Trump has a surprise for us in
- 17:08Speaker 2: Iran before Election Day? No, I think after Election Day.
- 17:12Speaker 2: Election Day is only 12 days away. 12 days away.
- 17:17Speaker 2: So whatever happens, if they win big, the Republicans, the
- 17:21Speaker 2: next day we're going to just wipe out everything in Iran.
- 17:24Speaker 2: If they lose big, we're going to wipe out everything
- 17:28Speaker 2: in Iran. Netanyahu, Trump are talking now. Pentagon has been told.
- 17:33Speaker 2: to put together the target packages. They have said they
- 17:36Speaker 2: will use the Moab, which is the single biggest bomb
- 17:39Speaker 2: we have, outside of a nuclear bomb, and they will
- 17:44Speaker 2: wipe out once and for all, finish the job in Iran.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Let's go to Jerry in New Jersey. Jerry, how are
- 17:51Speaker 2: you doing?
- 17:52Speaker 9: Fine, Mark. How are you?
- 17:55Speaker 2: Let me check.
- 17:56Speaker 8: Good.
- 17:57Speaker 9: Right. Listen, you know that ad you came out with
- 18:02Speaker 9: That says, what's better than two hours of March Simone?
- 18:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:08Speaker 9: It's three hours.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:10Speaker 9: Right.
- 18:11Speaker 3: Right.
- 18:13Speaker 9: That three hours turns into, if you add it up,
- 18:17Speaker 9: all commercials. Don't even get much of you.
- 18:22Speaker 2: I don't know. If you listen to the podcast, they
- 18:25Speaker 2: take out all the commercials, and the hour is still
- 18:28Speaker 2: like 47 minutes, so. It's not mostly commercials.
- 18:31Speaker 11: All right.
- 18:32Speaker 2: You sound like a guy from a 1940s movie. I
- 18:35Speaker 2: can see you talking to James Cagney.
- 18:38Speaker 9: Yeah, I was born in 19.
- 18:40Speaker 2: No, I can see you saying to Cagney, now see here,
- 18:42Speaker 2: you mugs.
- 18:44Speaker 9: Pardon me?
- 18:45Speaker 2: I said, you sound great. We really love talking to you.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Oh, right.
- 18:48Speaker 9: I'm 86.
- 18:49Speaker 2: We can tell.
- 18:49Speaker 9: All right. One more question.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Oh, God.
- 18:52Speaker 9: If you don't mind.
- 18:54Speaker 2: Go ahead. Who's going to stop you?
- 18:58Speaker 3: You.
- 18:59Speaker 8: Take your time.
- 19:00Speaker 9: Sometimes during the week, you start off at 9 a.m., right?
- 19:04Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I heard.
- 19:06Speaker 9: Before the day's over, you're an hour back.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Wait, say that again? Before the day's over what?
- 19:13Speaker 9: Before your day is over, you're an hour late.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, that's true. Thank you. I don't know what
- 19:20Speaker 2: the hell he said. Do you know what he just meant?
- 19:22Speaker 2: I don't know what he said. Let's go to Greg
- 19:25Speaker 2: in Long Island. Greg, how you doing?
- 19:27Speaker 11: He sounded like Walter Brennan, is what you're thinking of.
- 19:31Speaker 2: Ah, there you go, the real McCoys.
- 19:32Speaker 9: Luke!
- 19:34Speaker 11: Anyway, I wanted to talk about this decision that the
- 19:38Speaker 11: city council is about to make regarding the horse-drawn carriages,
- 19:42Speaker 11: and I used to be in the legislative body out
- 19:45Speaker 11: here in Suffolk County, and I think compromise is what's
- 19:48Speaker 11: called for, and what I wanted to suggest is that
- 19:51Speaker 11: they don't eliminate them. They cut down the number of
- 19:54Speaker 11: carriages and cut down the number of horses, build a
- 19:57Speaker 11: state-of-the-art stable with some pasture area for the horses and
- 20:03Speaker 11: and keep a tradition alive, just make it smaller and
- 20:06Speaker 11: more humane.
- 20:07Speaker 2: The problem is that's logical. It's common sense. It's not
- 20:10Speaker 2: the city council of New York type stuff. That is
- 20:12Speaker 2: the right answer. Yeah, create a nice little place. You
- 20:15Speaker 2: have five or six horses, and that's it.
- 20:17Speaker 11: That's a good– Yeah, it would keep a tradition alive,
- 20:20Speaker 11: and if it really gains popularity, it can slightly expand again.
- 20:24Speaker 2: You're absolutely right. Common sense, very logical solution. The city council, unfortunately,
- 20:29Speaker 2: is a bunch of crazy idiots. They're not going to
- 20:31Speaker 2: do that. Let's go. Oh, Vincent in Brooklyn. Vincent, how
- 20:34Speaker 2: you doing?
- 20:34Speaker 8: Good morning, Mark. Mark, as regards this detective who put
- 20:39Speaker 8: a cap into the other driver on the George Washington Bridge.
- 20:44Speaker 8: Most cops and most detectives are straight arrows. They're not
- 20:47Speaker 8: like this maniac detective. That being said, believe you me, Mark,
- 20:53Speaker 8: I know more crooked cops, more crooked detectives. There's even
- 20:58Speaker 8: a friend of mine who was a detective who the
- 21:02Speaker 8: authorities say he was feeding information about so-called mob activity
- 21:09Speaker 8: to the so-called mob.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Well, listen, there's always the case. You've got the 35,000 cops.
- 21:14Speaker 2: You're going to have a handful of crooked ones.
- 21:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:17Speaker 8: Mark, I'm going to play your snack food policeman yesterday. Yesterday,
- 21:22Speaker 8: a woman called, and she mistakenly called potato chips health food.
- 21:28Speaker 8: She should have said natural food because yesterday when I
- 21:31Speaker 8: went shopping— The potato chips that have all the garbage
- 21:36Speaker 8: that you cited in them are the flavored potato chips,
- 21:40Speaker 8: like the cheddar cheese chips, the barbecue chips, the onions
- 21:46Speaker 8: and sour cream chips.
- 21:48Speaker 2: But even normal, unflavored potato chips.
- 21:50Speaker 8: No, Mark. The unflavored potato chips. I'm telling you.
- 21:53Speaker 2: I should point out, there are healthy brands you can
- 21:55Speaker 2: buy where it's just potatoes, salt, and oil.
- 21:58Speaker 8: Exactly. But.
- 21:59Speaker 2: The big, big, big, big names have a lot of
- 22:02Speaker 2: preservatives and chemicals.
- 22:03Speaker 8: You're right, Mark, because I had to watch my salt
- 22:08Speaker 8: intake because I thought I had high blood pressure.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Hey, Vincent, there's an app called Yucca, Y-U-C-C-A, the Yucca app.
- 22:16Speaker 2: Whenever you're in the store, point the camera at the
- 22:22Speaker 2: barcode on the product. It'll tell you exactly how healthy
- 22:24Speaker 2: it is on a scale of 1 to 100.
- 22:27Speaker 8: That's, that's really good to know.
- 22:29Speaker 2: Because Vincent, we got to go, but everybody get that app.
- 22:31Speaker 2: Why you K a Yucca? Why you K a, uh,
- 22:35Speaker 2: it's amazing. It'll, it'll, it'll, Fix all your problems with
- 22:39Speaker 2: that stuff. Hey, we'll talk to Jimmy Fallon, the great comedian,
- 22:43Speaker 2: Jimmy Fallon, next on 710WOR.
- 22:46Speaker 8: No.
- 22:47Speaker 1: The Mark Simone Show. Nine till noon weekdays. More Mark. 710WOR.
- 22:54Speaker 2: Well, Jimmy Fallon may be now the greatest comedian in America,
- 22:58Speaker 2: the funniest guy. He does an incredible show here every night,
- 23:01Speaker 2: nine to midnight. Nine to midnight on WOR. You can
- 23:04Speaker 2: hear Jimmy Fallon. Saturday nights, he does the best late
- 23:08Speaker 2: night show on television every Saturday night, 10 o'clock on
- 23:11Speaker 2: the Fox News channel with the single best monologue in television.
- 23:16Speaker 2: And he's with us now. Jimmy Fela, how you doing?
- 23:20Speaker 3: Oh, buddy, what a time to be alive, huh? 13
- 23:23Speaker 3: days out to the midterms. My cousins live in Michigan,
- 23:27Speaker 3: so they're 13 days from finding out if it's going
- 23:29Speaker 3: to go to the Republicans or it's going to go
- 23:30Speaker 3: to Al Qaeda.
- 23:32Speaker 2: What a time to be alive. They had their big
- 23:35Speaker 2: debate last night, Al Sayad and What world is it
- 23:40Speaker 2: where you got Mamdani who never had a job? You
- 23:43Speaker 2: got El-Sayed. You got Ilhan Omar. Where do we find
- 23:47Speaker 2: these characters?
- 23:48Speaker 3: You know, it's funny because they're doing a bad job
- 23:52Speaker 3: of selling this garbage story that America is oppressive to poor.
- 23:56Speaker 4: People and minorities.
- 23:57Speaker 3: These are guys whose first jobs in America are running
- 24:02Speaker 3: cities and states. I would say there's a lot of
- 24:05Speaker 3: opportunity here.
- 24:07Speaker 4: The first thing you do after you move.
- 24:08Speaker 3: Out of your mom's house is set up a food
- 24:10Speaker 3: pond in Gracie Mansion, no?
- 24:13Speaker 2: Well, but who are these crazy Democratic voters now? I
- 24:17Speaker 2: could see voting for Bill Clinton, but for these lunatics?
- 24:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't actually think they're going to win. I
- 24:23Speaker 3: don't believe the polls. You know, we all saw the
- 24:25Speaker 3: story about the fake polling agency yesterday. And the fact
- 24:29Speaker 3: that these races are based on, okay, two things. One,
- 24:33Speaker 3: the incumbent party usually loses seats. We know that to
- 24:36Speaker 3: be true. Trump's the president.
- 24:37Speaker 4: Hooray.
- 24:38Speaker 3: But the part of this that's not traditional is people
- 24:41Speaker 3: running on emptying the prisons, defunding the police, and giving
- 24:45Speaker 3: us socialism. So when I saw that that polling agency
- 24:47Speaker 3: was fake yesterday, I'm like, that makes so much sense.
- 24:50Speaker 3: Because I don't believe these policies have the support they're.
- 24:53Speaker 4: Telling us they do. So I wouldn't be shocked if
- 24:56Speaker 4: the Republicans win everything.
- 24:57Speaker 3: As bad as they tell us it's going to be,
- 24:59Speaker 3: they always tell.
- 25:00Speaker 4: Us it's going to be.
- 25:02Speaker 3: If you go down to South America right now, they're
- 25:04Speaker 3: walking around in President Hillary Clinton t-shirts because they made
- 25:08Speaker 3: so many of them because they thought.
- 25:09Speaker 4: She was going to win.
- 25:11Speaker 3: Hillary's down there with President Kamala and the Super Bowl
- 25:14Speaker 3: champion New England Patriots from last year. Because that's where
- 25:17Speaker 3: they offload all that losing merch.
- 25:19Speaker 4: So I don't believe it.
- 25:20Speaker 11: I think the Republicans are in better shape than people
- 25:22Speaker 11: are telling you.
- 25:22Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 25:23Speaker 2: And we're talking about this Quinnipiac poll. You look in
- 25:26Speaker 2: the metrics. Republicans are only 22% of the sample. 80%
- 25:30Speaker 2: of the sample is Democrats. How did they get away
- 25:33Speaker 2: with this? This is crazy.
- 25:36Speaker 3: Imagine you're doing restaurant reviews of a steakhouse and 80%
- 25:41Speaker 3: of the people are vegan.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:42Speaker 3: You're like, I don't know that this is the Yelp
- 25:44Speaker 3: review I trust in this situation, Mark. And that's exactly what.
- 25:48Speaker 4: These polls are.
- 25:50Speaker 3: They oversample one side because they want to get the
- 25:52Speaker 3: results that they prefer because they're not reporting opinion.
- 25:56Speaker 4: They're shaping opinion.
- 25:57Speaker 1: And we know that.
- 25:58Speaker 4: We've seen it in every election.
- 26:00Speaker 3: And I trust the Trump people to turn out and
- 26:02Speaker 3: vote because they do.
- 26:03Speaker 4: They're a reliable electorate, okay? I have no idea what these.
- 26:07Speaker 3: Free Palestine people are going to be doing on Election Day.
- 26:10Speaker 3: You know, there's weed, there's Netflix.
- 26:12Speaker 4: I don't know where they're going to be.
- 26:14Speaker 2: So, hey, Elon Omar, looks like they got her. It
- 26:17Speaker 2: looks like she's going to get, if not in jail, deported,
- 26:21Speaker 2: don't you think?
- 26:23Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, here's a good note for everybody listening.
- 26:26Speaker 4: Ancestry.com is not a dating app.
- 26:31Speaker 3: You want to find out where you came from, what
- 26:33Speaker 3: boat your relative sailed over from Sicily?
- 26:35Speaker 2: Great.
- 26:36Speaker 3: Okay, but don't start matching with people whose profile pictures
- 26:39Speaker 3: look good.
- 26:41Speaker 4: I do hope they get her.
- 26:42Speaker 2: She got confused. She thought it was Tinder. It was Ancestry.com.
- 26:48Speaker 4: Good for you. And, you know, the thing is.
- 26:51Speaker 3: Every one of these scams that they've been fronting out
- 26:54Speaker 3: in Minneapolis is too big for them not to know
- 26:58Speaker 3: about it.
- 26:59Speaker 4: That's why I hope they get her.
- 27:01Speaker 11: It's like Tim Walz.
- 27:02Speaker 3: He knew that this whole thing was going to blow up,
- 27:04Speaker 3: which is why he announced he wasn't running for governor.
- 27:08Speaker 3: She stuck around thinking she was insulated because that dopey
- 27:11Speaker 3: corrupt attorney general wasn't going to do anything at the
- 27:14Speaker 3: local level. That guy Keith Ellison, if you remember, is
- 27:16Speaker 3: on a wiretap assuring a group that he was going
- 27:19Speaker 3: to make a probe go away.
- 27:21Speaker 4: So nobody's clean out there.
- 27:23Speaker 3: But because she continued to really poke this bear, man,
- 27:27Speaker 3: do you remember when she reevaluated her financial disclosure statement
- 27:31Speaker 3: from $ 30 million down to like $ 60, 000 or.
- 27:33Speaker 4: Whatever it was?
- 27:34Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 27:34Speaker 3: Like, dude, that's usually when they raid the bar you're
- 27:39Speaker 3: running in.
- 27:39Speaker 4: Bensonhurst, right after that form gets filled out.
- 27:42Speaker 9: I mean, it's crazy.
- 27:43Speaker 4: Wow.
- 27:44Speaker 2: Jimmy Fallon, would you take a vacation in France or
- 27:48Speaker 2: would you avoid that country for a while?
- 27:50Speaker 3: Well, I mean, if I was traveling on a budget,
- 27:52Speaker 3: I understand it's pretty affordable right now.
- 27:55Speaker 2: The good news is I.
- 27:56Speaker 4: Can finally afford a trip to France. The bad news
- 27:58Speaker 4: is none of the museums are open.
- 27:59Speaker 11: It's crazy.
- 28:03Speaker 3: But again, and you know this is the midterms, man,
- 28:06Speaker 3: everything happening in France, is the end result of the
- 28:09Speaker 3: policies Democrats are running on, mass migration and free stuff.
- 28:14Speaker 3: They spend 57% of their federal budget on social giveaways,
- 28:20Speaker 3: and the people are still rioting.
- 28:22Speaker 4: So there's no.
- 28:22Speaker 3: Amount of entitlement you can placate with those people. And
- 28:26Speaker 3: then the other thing with the mass migration that doesn't
- 28:28Speaker 3: necessarily share your values, it's like, I'm against it. But
- 28:31Speaker 3: then again, Mark, holiday shopping is coming, and who wants
- 28:34Speaker 3: to pay retail where you can get it on riot,
- 28:36Speaker 3: you know?
- 28:38Speaker 2: Yeah, they cleaned out Hermes. They cleaned out the Louis
- 28:40Speaker 2: Vuitton store. Apparently, a lot of French husbands are happy
- 28:44Speaker 2: about this. Save a fortune on their credit cards. What
- 28:50Speaker 2: about banning the horse carriages? Looks like that's going to
- 28:52Speaker 2: happen later today. Is that really a good idea?
- 28:56Speaker 4: Yeah, this is the thing, man.
- 28:57Speaker 3: I like the idea of New York having some character,
- 29:01Speaker 3: you know, some regional identifiers.
- 29:03Speaker 2: Those were one of them.
- 29:04Speaker 3: Even if you're just going to keep them in the park,
- 29:05Speaker 3: I do think they should be there. But this is
- 29:08Speaker 3: the type of thing Mom Donnie does because he sees
- 29:12Speaker 3: it as like a deliverable, like, hey, I did something.
- 29:14Speaker 4: But who did he do it for?
- 29:16Speaker 3: Not tourism, because obviously it helps our economy to have them. Um,
- 29:21Speaker 3: it doesn't necessarily help, you know, any of the people
- 29:23Speaker 3: working those jobs. I don't really see how it helps
- 29:25Speaker 3: New York either.
- 29:26Speaker 4: You know, they had a more humane way of doing
- 29:28Speaker 4: this in recent years, which I thought was better.
- 29:30Speaker 3: Um, but the thing is, again, the less horses they are,
- 29:34Speaker 3: the more likely I am to pay my rent this
- 29:36Speaker 3: month because I've lost a lot of money over the years.
- 29:38Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 29:41Speaker 4: I gotta think of me too yeah.
- 29:42Speaker 2: They say it's cruel uh you know slowly walking around
- 29:47Speaker 2: central park is that cruel or horse racing a guy
- 29:51Speaker 2: sitting on your back whipping you to go faster isn't
- 29:53Speaker 2: that more cruel.
- 29:55Speaker 4: Oh, absolutely.
- 29:56Speaker 3: I mean, if you're going to get into the metrics
- 29:57Speaker 3: of this, okay, I mean, if you want to talk safety,
- 30:00Speaker 3: and that's where it's interesting with Mamdani, the people, the
- 30:03Speaker 3: humans aren't the priority, okay?
- 30:05Speaker 4: Everybody knows what's going on in the.
- 30:07Speaker 3: Bike lanes, where the guy in a motorized bike doing
- 30:09Speaker 3: 85 miles an hour going the wrong way. Like, you
- 30:11Speaker 3: are playing Frogger every time you cross the street in
- 30:14Speaker 3: this town. And you know what else is not humane?
- 30:16Speaker 4: Letting everybody shoot heroin on the West Side Highway right now.
- 30:19Speaker 3: If you go over to the Intrepid, It's an actual
- 30:21Speaker 3: tent city. Like if you're in downtown Seattle, if you
- 30:24Speaker 3: go to the intrepid right now, he might as well,
- 30:27Speaker 3: you know, build a fricking space needle.
- 30:29Speaker 4: Um, and that's not cool.
- 30:30Speaker 3: So there's not a lot of human compassion out of
- 30:32Speaker 3: mom Donnie, but he does these other things like, Hey,
- 30:34Speaker 3: I'm a good guy.
- 30:35Speaker 4: I took away the horses, but that's what happens.
- 30:37Speaker 2: New York.
- 30:38Speaker 3: They promise you free buses under a socialist. By the
- 30:40Speaker 3: time they're done, you don't even have a horse to ride.
- 30:42Speaker 2: Hey, the other thing is, uh, one person has been
- 30:46Speaker 2: killed in a horse accident in a hundred years. E-bikes,
- 30:50Speaker 2: 133 have been killed by e-bikes in the last seven years.
- 30:54Speaker 8: Yes.
- 30:54Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 30:56Speaker 3: That's the point I was making earlier. And remember this
- 30:59Speaker 3: about bike lanes. They were built by Bloomberg in the
- 31:01Speaker 3: name of helping the environment.
- 31:03Speaker 8: Remember?
- 31:03Speaker 3: They were like, well, these have no engines.
- 31:05Speaker 4: Everybody's going to be pedaling.
- 31:06Speaker 8: Within about a year, people were.
- 31:07Speaker 4: Like, I'm not pedaling. And now they're all riding around
- 31:10Speaker 4: on e-bikes.
- 31:10Speaker 3: And that's why people are getting hit because they come
- 31:12Speaker 3: on too fast.
- 31:13Speaker 4: So the whole thing is a racket, man, and you
- 31:16Speaker 4: know that.
- 31:16Speaker 3: But hopefully his side loses in 13 days because it
- 31:19Speaker 3: weakens him if those socialist candidates lose, which is good
- 31:22Speaker 3: for us here in New York.
- 31:23Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 31:24Speaker 2: Speaking of that Bloomberg, he just gave $ 80 million to Democrats.
- 31:27Speaker 2: Didn't they humiliate him and just reject him in the
- 31:31Speaker 2: debates when he tried to run? Remember that?
- 31:34Speaker 4: Of course.
- 31:35Speaker 3: And not only did they humiliate him, but they spent
- 31:37Speaker 3: the last five years lecturing us about billionaires throwing their
- 31:40Speaker 3: money into politics. But the minute Bloomberg showed up with
- 31:44Speaker 3: a Venmo, they were like, right over here, big boy.
- 31:46Speaker 11: Mark that thing right here.
- 31:49Speaker 4: It's all a scam.
- 31:50Speaker 2: Jimmy Fallon does a Great show. Start listening. It's every night,
- 31:53Speaker 2: 9 to midnight. You'll get addicted very fast. Every weeknight,
- 31:57Speaker 2: he's on WOR, 9 to midnight. What do you got
- 31:59Speaker 2: for tonight?
- 32:01Speaker 3: Oh, it's a big Anna Kelly. Anna Kelly is my
- 32:04Speaker 3: favorite to be the next White House press secretary. She's
- 32:06Speaker 3: number one on the betting odds, and she's going to
- 32:08Speaker 3: be on the show. And Ted Nugent, who just introduced
- 32:10Speaker 3: Trump at a rally, so he's going to put down
- 32:12Speaker 3: his crossbow for a few.
- 32:13Speaker 4: Minutes and talk about it.
- 32:15Speaker 2: Very good. Make sure you watch his TV show, too.
- 32:18Speaker 2: It's the best late-night show on television. Saturday nights at
- 32:21Speaker 2: 10 o'clock. And people can come sit in the audience.
