- 0:43Speaker 2: do snaps.
- 0:43Speaker 5: What's up, sir, bro Man?
- 0:46Speaker 2: He got it cold here now.
- 0:47Speaker 5: Funny funny thing, Yeah, yeah, I just got funny funny
- 0:50Speaker 5: thing about him.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Maker.
- 0:51Speaker 5: He was in the group chat. We was like, hey, man,
- 0:52Speaker 5: are you coming? Are you coming? Here?
- 0:53Speaker 2: You coming?
- 0:54Speaker 5: He's like, Bro, I'm not like that.
- 0:55Speaker 2: We just want to.
- 0:57Speaker 6: And he's on time, very punctual.
- 1:00Speaker 2: You have no idea the stuff we have crazy off
- 1:03Speaker 2: to get people. These show up on time. A lot
- 1:05Speaker 2: of people don't know, like it's crazy because like I
- 1:08Speaker 2: walk like through fine lines, like I'm an artist still
- 1:11Speaker 2: because I'm putting out my producer album on top of
- 1:13Speaker 2: the year, but I'm an executive as well. You know
- 1:16Speaker 2: what I'm saying. I got joint ventures and like I
- 1:19Speaker 2: got artists like a publishing company. I got different rights,
- 1:22Speaker 2: so I got to be on my shit, you know
- 1:24Speaker 2: what I'm saying, Like what I do kind of it's
- 1:26Speaker 2: a domino effect that affects so many different lines. So
- 1:29Speaker 2: I kind of like to be punctual, you know what
- 1:30Speaker 2: I'm saying, and be on time. If I did came later,
- 1:33Speaker 2: it probably showed that with some rose or something like
- 1:35Speaker 2: that for y'all, a bottle or something like trying to
- 1:37Speaker 2: like smove it over.
- 1:38Speaker 7: But nah, no, you know a lot of times it
- 1:40Speaker 7: shows the difference between season people season vests and then
- 1:44Speaker 7: the new artists, because new artists are always trying to
- 1:47Speaker 7: get their diva on.
- 1:48Speaker 6: But you know, the season vets be like I got
- 1:50Speaker 6: to get this work done.
- 1:51Speaker 8: Yea.
- 1:51Speaker 2: I kind of think, cause we kind of just artists
- 1:54Speaker 2: that are bigger artists and people that have been in
- 1:55Speaker 2: the game a season. You really like once you win
- 1:58Speaker 2: the motion of it's like, Okay, this shit a job,
- 2:00Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying. I think that the only
- 2:01Speaker 2: time it ain't a job for me is when when
- 2:04Speaker 2: I'm in the studio, which I'm in the studio twenty
- 2:06Speaker 2: four seven, cause it's like I be scared, like man,
- 2:09Speaker 2: Like if I leave now, and you know, it might
- 2:11Speaker 2: be two am, but and I might be lit and
- 2:13Speaker 2: be like man, but if I leave four am, the
- 2:16Speaker 2: craziest idea might happen or something or somebody might be
- 2:19Speaker 2: working or out work in me. I want to, like
- 2:21Speaker 2: I pray to be like for real or one of
- 2:23Speaker 2: these niggas like yo, for real to go to the
- 2:25Speaker 2: studio at three and leave it ten. If it don't
- 2:28Speaker 2: happen between three and ten, the fuck it for real? Yeah,
- 2:31Speaker 2: because you got family kids, you know what I'm saying.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Shit like that. I respect that lifestyle, like people really
- 2:36Speaker 2: treating shit like a job for real.
- 2:37Speaker 7: Well, this should be a fun show because you know,
- 2:40Speaker 7: I like you because you are like unfiltered and you
- 2:42Speaker 7: speak your mind, you speak your truth, and I respect
- 2:45Speaker 7: that a lot.
- 2:45Speaker 2: So we're going to just run show with us, Okay?
- 2:48Speaker 2: Is that cool? We're going to get your business a
- 2:51Speaker 2: little bit fall alert.
- 2:58Speaker 6: In case you missed it.
- 3:00Speaker 7: Braxton and her the contestant from Queen's Court Jr. They
- 3:04Speaker 7: have broken up, been.
- 3:05Speaker 3: A lawyer and going on TV and all that, you know,
- 3:08Speaker 3: the reality show. I always wondered, like, how did they
- 3:10Speaker 3: like work out for him?
- 3:12Speaker 2: That's the white dude, Yeah, the white guy. Weren't they
- 3:14Speaker 2: just together on Instagram?
- 3:16Speaker 7: They had a whole YouTube and everything they had like
- 3:18Speaker 7: on the YouTube show and they were they was doing
- 3:20Speaker 7: their thing.
- 3:21Speaker 6: And you know, this is like a surprise, not just me, man,
- 3:24Speaker 6: I love Tamar.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Yeah, just hey, Tamo, just stay single for a little bit, man,
- 3:28Speaker 2: keep it pee. Every woman doesn't just want to be single.
- 3:32Speaker 2: She could be single with friends.
- 3:34Speaker 3: But he said what I don't understand why he put
- 3:36Speaker 3: out a statement that said he broke up with her.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Hey, he just wanted to put it out.
- 3:39Speaker 6: And he said that it wasn't for fame. He wasn't.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Then why make a statement. Maybe he had to.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Man, you can't say you don't want to be famous
- 3:48Speaker 3: and you do everything famous people do.
- 3:51Speaker 2: I think it's probably like pr or something like behind
- 3:55Speaker 2: that situation of motivating that, like as a man like
- 3:57Speaker 2: I ain't really liking the rush to like go to
- 3:59Speaker 2: no in that until like you know what I'm saying,
- 4:01Speaker 2: Like I'm no longer you know what I'm saying, Like
- 4:03Speaker 2: I'm single. Guys.
- 4:05Speaker 6: Yeah, they just let it feezle out.
- 4:06Speaker 7: But they were engaged, So I think maybe that's why
- 4:10Speaker 7: he wanted to say something.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Maybe he's dating somebody else and had to put that
- 4:13Speaker 2: out there just for me.
- 4:14Speaker 7: You know, he never knows because he would because she
- 4:16Speaker 7: they got together on The Queen's Court, which is a
- 4:18Speaker 7: TV show.
- 4:19Speaker 6: Look, she was looking for love and you know he
- 4:22Speaker 6: proposed her on the show.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Hey ma, stot looking for love? How are you gonna
- 4:25Speaker 2: tell her that they did it? Come find you? Just
- 4:28Speaker 2: let it come to you. That's what she did. She'd
- 4:30Speaker 2: been around Tamar like that.
- 4:31Speaker 6: No, no, no, no, I know you have you worked
- 4:33Speaker 6: with her before?
- 4:34Speaker 2: She mad cool Like I think that y'all are really
- 4:36Speaker 2: a fuck with her, Like she's super solid.
- 4:39Speaker 5: Come on the show Man show table, I think she
- 4:40Speaker 5: will man.
- 4:42Speaker 7: Another one looking for love but not black love is
- 4:45Speaker 7: Terrell Owens. He was on Live with O Joe Sinko.
- 4:48Speaker 6: He was telling about his experience with black women and
- 4:51Speaker 6: how it wasn't good.
- 4:52Speaker 2: My experiences with black women growing up wasn't so good
- 4:55Speaker 2: when I started dating white girls. My first experience with
- 4:58Speaker 2: white girls is when I went to college. I tried
- 5:00Speaker 2: to date some black girls when I was in college.
- 5:03Speaker 2: They did not like me. I was skinny, I was strong, right.
- 5:06Speaker 2: I was teached from high school even college. I got
- 5:09Speaker 2: teached for being dark skinned.
- 5:11Speaker 5: Now that now, when you started dating these other types
- 5:14Speaker 5: of women, was the check involved? Did you start getting
- 5:16Speaker 5: to check and then these were who accepted you at
- 5:18Speaker 5: that particular moment.
- 5:19Speaker 2: I don't.
- 5:19Speaker 5: I don't have enough enough contact.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Well, he said he was in college, right, So if
- 5:23Speaker 3: you're in college and he went to the NFL, I'm
- 5:26Speaker 3: pretty sure he was probably pretty damn good in college
- 5:29Speaker 3: ben athlete, right, So I think that it's an obvious
- 5:34Speaker 3: reason why he was chose by particular women.
- 5:37Speaker 2: What college did he go to? That's key.
- 5:39Speaker 5: I think a terre Oones went to Middle Tennessee State.
- 5:42Speaker 2: I don't have my phone white or a dominantly back. Yeah,
- 5:47Speaker 2: don't check that.
- 5:48Speaker 1: I know.
- 5:48Speaker 5: I know he didn't go to a I know terrell
- 5:49Speaker 5: Oones didn't go to a big school he went.
- 5:52Speaker 6: We know he didn't go to HBCU.
- 5:55Speaker 2: To me, it would be like it would be like
- 5:57Speaker 2: news to me if like he went to an HBC
- 6:00Speaker 2: or whatever. And then it was like, nah, I'm just
- 6:02Speaker 2: only deal with white girls, you know what I'm saying.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Like then it been like, yeah, we stereotypically like that.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Maybe that's oh.
- 6:11Speaker 7: Yeah, And I think you will have a problem, like
- 6:14Speaker 7: especially online with preferences, because you know, you have had
- 6:19Speaker 7: like controversy with your preference online and people.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Have said, see that's cap though. See look a lot
- 6:25Speaker 2: of people they keep dialing back in to old me.
- 6:28Speaker 2: You gotta re meet me, Like I grew up in
- 6:31Speaker 2: this own industry, Like I grew up when World Star
- 6:33Speaker 2: came out, the funny jokes or things that I said
- 6:37Speaker 2: or things that I was doing, they like right now,
- 6:39Speaker 2: I would never say none of that lame shit or
- 6:41Speaker 2: whatever it was lame. I grew up in front of
- 6:44Speaker 2: the camera, So I take accountability for who I was.
- 6:47Speaker 2: But were talking about situations that are that was in
- 6:51Speaker 2: two thousand and seven, that's fifteen years ago. You know
- 6:54Speaker 2: what I'm saying, sixteen years ago, I'm not the same
- 6:56Speaker 2: person I was then, And you know I can't really
- 7:00Speaker 2: you know, get that out people mind. But I think
- 7:02Speaker 2: that when you're in this limelight, it don't matter what
- 7:05Speaker 2: you do. It's just like similar to people grabbing old.
- 7:08Speaker 5: Tweets from two thousand and five when such and such
- 7:11Speaker 5: or Kevin Harden.
- 7:12Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying, like you got to remeet me.
- 7:15Speaker 2: I'm not that same nigga no more. And like I
- 7:18Speaker 2: take full accountability for what was said, and that the
- 7:21Speaker 2: record showed it. That's not really the case of whatever
- 7:23Speaker 2: it was or what was said. I don't even like
- 7:25Speaker 2: to speak.
- 7:26Speaker 7: On that, you know what I'm saying, no facts, And
- 7:27Speaker 7: you know, the unfortunate part is you grew up in
- 7:29Speaker 7: the limelight, you know, and people don't forget. It's easily,
- 7:33Speaker 7: especially the women who were hurt by it. They like
- 7:36Speaker 7: I remember, you know, and it's like you can't move on.
- 7:38Speaker 3: It's hard to move on from that if you really
- 7:40Speaker 3: think about it, if you as a normal person, people
- 7:42Speaker 3: not talking about what you did in middle school, right,
- 7:44Speaker 3: you know what I'm saying. But you know, when you
- 7:48Speaker 3: famous and you become bigger and bigger, people try to
- 7:52Speaker 3: bring you back down, like, hey, I know you up there,
- 7:54Speaker 3: but let me bring you back down here, you know.
- 7:57Speaker 2: So I feel like that's just kind of how the
- 7:58Speaker 2: internet is, though, Like people gotta remember, I'm in my
- 8:02Speaker 2: thirties now, Like I was literally like twenty you know
- 8:04Speaker 2: what I'm saying. Those states happened nineteen twenty or whatever,
- 8:07Speaker 2: and I made mistakes, you know, and.
- 8:09Speaker 5: Glad I'm glad I won't I was thinking the same,
- 8:12Speaker 5: bad person. I was thinking the same You're a very
- 8:14Speaker 5: bad person. I was very aged in my twenties almost
- 8:18Speaker 5: two decades.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Well, actually my career is over two decades because I
- 8:21Speaker 2: was signed to DMX first when it was Iceberg first.
- 8:24Speaker 2: But like, if you could be in this game twenty
- 8:25Speaker 2: plus years and still be successful and just having, you
- 8:28Speaker 2: know what I'm saying, a good vibe going on. Man,
- 8:30Speaker 2: I ain't gonna lie like whatever happened, like I said,
- 8:33Speaker 2: I wouldn't change it, you know, but I learned from
- 8:35Speaker 2: a lot of different mistakes and it's just bringing another
- 8:38Speaker 2: level of clarity to where I'm.
- 8:39Speaker 7: Moving forward to fact, speaking of bringing up old stuff,
- 8:42Speaker 7: there was a resurface clip of Kanye West from twenty
- 8:44Speaker 7: eighteen on the phone call saying that it's an industry plant.
- 8:49Speaker 6: That's why fucking Cardon b was over there, Cardon b
- 8:52Speaker 6: is a plant.
- 8:53Speaker 8: Follow us from an Audi.
- 8:54Speaker 2: She don't run her reps.
- 8:55Speaker 8: She just did like sound as ignorant as possible and
- 8:59Speaker 8: then make songs like fuck him and you get some money.
- 9:04Speaker 8: You know, she's literally replaced, you know Nicki Minaj purposely
- 9:11Speaker 8: that they put her there.
- 9:12Speaker 5: I personally hate stuff like that happening because it's so
- 9:16Speaker 5: hard and sometimes it's really taken out of context, Like
- 9:20Speaker 5: I really wish that we heard the entire conversation of.
- 9:23Speaker 3: That all the Well, what I don't like is the
- 9:26Speaker 3: fact that we've all said things about people that we
- 9:30Speaker 3: don't know, right, So he could have said that it
- 9:33Speaker 3: actually met her and went to the studio with her opinion, Like,
- 9:37Speaker 3: oh shit, she actually does this, She actually does this.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Okay, she's actually adope her saying with about Tamar, Yeah,
- 9:43Speaker 2: for sure, exactly. I Mean the truth of the matter
- 9:46Speaker 2: is that us as a culture and a generation, we
- 9:49Speaker 2: just migrate towards negativity fast and the positive shit. So
- 9:52Speaker 2: if you look at it, when they put the clips out,
- 9:54Speaker 2: even though they've been like dissected and turned into smaller
- 9:57Speaker 2: clips of what, you don't understand what he's saying. If
- 9:59Speaker 2: still twenty eighteen, Kanye just did a record. He was
- 10:02Speaker 2: just on Cardi b single with Little Dirt called hot Shit.
- 10:05Speaker 2: So clearly something happened in between twenty eighteen to right
- 10:10Speaker 2: now for them to get over that. But people will
- 10:12Speaker 2: prefer to go and dial into that be like all right,
- 10:14Speaker 2: he's a fuck nigga da da. But people gotta stop
- 10:18Speaker 2: really caring about like the internet for real free and
- 10:21Speaker 2: clearly they don't because Cardi, I think she put out
- 10:23Speaker 2: something that was just like a hard.
- 10:26Speaker 6: Because he was bigger her for the hot Hot record exactly.
- 10:29Speaker 3: What I mean, God bless and shout out to Cardi
- 10:31Speaker 3: that was that was a good way to respond to
- 10:33Speaker 3: some negative ish man.
- 10:35Speaker 6: Do you think there are industry plants?
- 10:36Speaker 3: What does that mean though, to y'all, like Western, Well,
- 10:39Speaker 3: an industry plant, I'm gonna say what I've seen on
- 10:42Speaker 3: the internet. An industry plant is somebody that is put
- 10:45Speaker 3: in this industry that gets a bunch of writers and
- 10:50Speaker 3: producers and they have all these people hot, and everybody's
- 10:53Speaker 3: industry planting.
- 10:53Speaker 5: I would say, I would say industry plan is someone
- 10:56Speaker 5: who doesn't respect the culture.
- 10:58Speaker 2: But that was put there too. Culture vulture, culture vulture. Okay,
- 11:02Speaker 2: see that's two different perspectives. That's just talking about from
- 11:05Speaker 2: the creates creative, you know what I'm saying, and making
- 11:07Speaker 2: of the song. Everybody collaborates, so like I don't want
- 11:10Speaker 2: people to get that twisted up, Like collaboration is key.
- 11:13Speaker 2: So if you think about it, like Quincy Jones in
- 11:17Speaker 2: the studio with Michael Jackson Rod Temperton, this is back
- 11:20Speaker 2: when they had full bands making the Beast and what
- 11:22Speaker 2: no laptopp and fruy loops and it was probably like
- 11:24Speaker 2: twenty thirty niggas to walk through that studio on one
- 11:26Speaker 2: day to make one thing to make off the wall
- 11:29Speaker 2: or anything that we vibe into. Now, I think it's
- 11:31Speaker 2: just a stigma with rap that it's like they wanted
- 11:35Speaker 2: to be autobiographical from you so they can connect to
- 11:38Speaker 2: you instead of connecting to the story that you're putting
- 11:41Speaker 2: out there. So that's kind of like where it get jaded.
- 11:43Speaker 2: But I think everybody collaborates on an industry plan. Like
- 11:46Speaker 2: to me, an industry plan is just like it's just
- 11:50Speaker 2: a fucked up way to be like, man, like you
- 11:52Speaker 2: really like you won, you know what I'm saying, Like
- 11:54Speaker 2: at his little nas extit industry plan, I don't think
- 11:57Speaker 2: so I don't think so he's talented, you know what
- 11:59Speaker 2: I'm say. How you don't know his story, You don't
- 12:02Speaker 2: know his struggle or what he went through to do that.
- 12:04Speaker 2: But when you when people start seeing you come out
- 12:06Speaker 2: of nowhere, and then you got the right marketing, promotion
- 12:09Speaker 2: and good budget behind you, and you got a good
- 12:11Speaker 2: record everywhere, and you MTV Awards, VMA, Grammy blah blah blah.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Did the same shit that Maclamore. They did the same
- 12:19Speaker 2: shit to all these different niggas. So I mean, it's
- 12:21Speaker 2: just niggas just got just be like, man, don't say
- 12:23Speaker 2: industry planning. Like man, you got a big marketing budget, bro.
- 12:26Speaker 6: Like No, I think an industry plan is somebody like
- 12:28Speaker 6: Milli Vanilli.
- 12:30Speaker 5: Like.
- 12:30Speaker 7: The producers wanted a record, but they weren't, as you know,
- 12:35Speaker 7: appealing to the eye enough to sell records. So they
- 12:39Speaker 7: got these good looking guys to just mouth, you know,
- 12:42Speaker 7: the words, and the producers and people who could not
- 12:46Speaker 7: you know, sell the records get the money, but the
- 12:48Speaker 7: people who are actually doing it, they're not getting receiving anything.
- 12:52Speaker 6: And then they got exposed on a performance.
- 12:55Speaker 2: Fun fact about that that Kevin Lows wrote, Girl you
- 12:58Speaker 2: know it's true.
- 13:02Speaker 7: So he didn't feel like he was you know, he
- 13:04Speaker 7: could go out there and do it himself. All right,
- 13:10Speaker 7: Let's move on to love versus money.
- 13:12Speaker 2: It's love versus money on the ball or alert show.
- 13:16Speaker 7: All right, So I'm gonna give a couple and you
- 13:18Speaker 7: let me know if they're there for the love or
- 13:20Speaker 7: is it just business.
- 13:22Speaker 6: Today we have Joey Chavez and Travon Diggs.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Well, Jeorde just tattooed his name.
- 13:31Speaker 6: I love her back.
- 13:32Speaker 5: Yeah wow, so he can have a view of that thing. Okay, Yeah,
- 13:39Speaker 5: I definitely think that this is a potential love. I
- 13:41Speaker 5: don't want to say love, but you know, I don't
- 13:45Speaker 5: think that this is for the money. I don't think
- 13:47Speaker 5: this is for the money because from now side looking in,
- 13:51Speaker 5: I think it's potentially love.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I think it's love. I think it's love.
- 13:55Speaker 7: You know.
- 13:57Speaker 3: I feel like they've been together for for some time now.
- 14:00Speaker 3: And you know that that tattoo is that's love, that
- 14:06Speaker 3: file that is it's all b E that's love.
- 14:12Speaker 2: So I got mad girls names tattooed on Okay, okay,
- 14:17Speaker 2: really yeah?
- 14:19Speaker 6: How many girls you got on?
- 14:20Speaker 3: You?
- 14:21Speaker 2: Like five? My life? It's a it's a chapter. It happened,
- 14:26Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying. Like, unless I tell you
- 14:28Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying, you're not gonna know what
- 14:30Speaker 2: what it really is or whatever. But mischoles got a
- 14:34Speaker 2: girl what a girl name tattoo? But she was part
- 14:37Speaker 2: of my crew to girl that saying the business cash
- 14:39Speaker 2: or whatever, Yeah and everything. I got it, But I
- 14:43Speaker 2: feel laying to cover it up. It's just like it
- 14:44Speaker 2: was a moment that happened in my life and moved on,
- 14:47Speaker 2: you know, and you continue to just create history. That's
- 14:50Speaker 2: like when Baby fell out, Remember because I really got
- 14:53Speaker 2: this from Baby. Remember how nim niggas had like all
- 14:55Speaker 2: the hot boys names on each other whatever. It's kind
- 14:58Speaker 2: of like what if I do like an ext it
- 15:00Speaker 2: like nah, fuck this nigga, you know what. It's kind
- 15:02Speaker 2: of felt weird. So I just were you drunk when
- 15:04Speaker 2: you got those tattoos? Gonna lie, this was so long ago.
- 15:07Speaker 2: I was probably like all types of.
- 15:10Speaker 6: Now. But you know what does that mean though? Is
- 15:12Speaker 6: it is it like a great gift to give somebody,
- 15:15Speaker 6: like if I tatch you on my body.
- 15:17Speaker 2: Some people take it differently. Yeah, It's kind of like
- 15:20Speaker 2: what perspective you coming from like I think that certain
- 15:22Speaker 2: relationships or whatever, it's like validating like I'm yours or
- 15:26Speaker 2: your mind or this type of situation. But for me,
- 15:29Speaker 2: it was just out of love, like we was a crew,
- 15:31Speaker 2: so speaking on that particular tattoo, but I mean the
- 15:35Speaker 2: other ones, it was just like spur of the moment
- 15:37Speaker 2: like that used to be like my first date, like
- 15:39Speaker 2: back in the day, like like oh, let's go get
- 15:41Speaker 2: tatted or let's have a tattoo man come through the
- 15:42Speaker 2: shot house or whatever and turn into that now some
- 15:47Speaker 2: rapper ship for really.
- 15:50Speaker 6: Now it's tink on. Did she make one of the tattoos?
- 15:53Speaker 7: Okay, because y'all made love versus money a couple couple
- 15:56Speaker 7: of episodes ago, Pink and hit Maker, Oh man, you
- 16:01Speaker 7: know ting recently said he eats her ass.
- 16:04Speaker 2: He eats my ass.
- 16:06Speaker 5: From the rule to the tool to you know.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Well, if he' n asked, that's gotta be well, I
- 16:17Speaker 2: don't know.
- 16:18Speaker 6: So they've been on the loaf for a minute. I've
- 16:20Speaker 6: been silent about our relationship.
- 16:21Speaker 2: I've been silent about us fucking.
- 16:24Speaker 3: They was in a relationship and they broke up because
- 16:26Speaker 3: they it was some you know, pans getting put on
- 16:29Speaker 3: somebody allegedly.
- 16:30Speaker 2: She definitely put her hands on me.
- 16:33Speaker 3: You don't want to say it, I'm a say it,
- 16:35Speaker 3: and I know this is this is rare for me
- 16:37Speaker 3: to say this.
- 16:38Speaker 2: I think that it's love. I definitely don't think it's
- 16:42Speaker 2: for money.
- 16:42Speaker 6: This man has really been manipulating my situation.
- 16:46Speaker 5: And I won't bash him because we make great music.
- 16:48Speaker 2: But I finally understand that it isn't love. It's more
- 16:52Speaker 2: so money. Damn. I'm not gonna talk too crazy about
- 16:55Speaker 2: it because I still got a lot of respect, but
- 16:57Speaker 2: now it wasn't a money thing. Like I think that
- 16:59Speaker 2: we were working together and we had did three albums, right,
- 17:02Speaker 2: and we were in the process of like restructuring our
- 17:05Speaker 2: business how we did business together because I was executive
- 17:08Speaker 2: producing the projects or whatever. So we had decided to
- 17:11Speaker 2: do something with the business, and to be perfectly honest,
- 17:15Speaker 2: it just didemed go out that way. She decided to
- 17:18Speaker 2: go a different direction. So when that happened, I kind
- 17:20Speaker 2: of like fell back from the situation because it just
- 17:25Speaker 2: it just I don't know, like I've worked a lot
- 17:27Speaker 2: and I just didn't want to be in a position
- 17:29Speaker 2: of where I felt like we weren't in sync. But
- 17:31Speaker 2: I felt like we could coexist and still create and
- 17:33Speaker 2: do whatever we wanted to do. So I just fell
- 17:35Speaker 2: back and that was pretty much it.
- 17:36Speaker 6: So she wanted to work with other producers maybe nah.
- 17:40Speaker 2: So in reality, the situation that happened with that is
- 17:45Speaker 2: that once we decided that we weren't going to do
- 17:47Speaker 2: business together on a broader scale, then I fell back,
- 17:50Speaker 2: and then she decided and she came back and was like,
- 17:52Speaker 2: you know what, I was wrong, I do want to
- 17:54Speaker 2: work with you. And then we did an agreement for
- 17:56Speaker 2: us to work together, and we worked together like in
- 17:59Speaker 2: earlier August whatever, and I was like the first time
- 18:01Speaker 2: that we were like really like speaking together or collaborating
- 18:04Speaker 2: or doing anything together from like maybe March, Like we
- 18:08Speaker 2: probably ain't spoke to each other like from March to August.
- 18:11Speaker 2: So that's when we like kind of collectively came back
- 18:14Speaker 2: together did like we did twenty songs in like seven days. Now,
- 18:17Speaker 2: do you guys think that or do you feel like
- 18:19Speaker 2: there's something still there or that's completely done? That chapter's
- 18:21Speaker 2: close on a relationship level. To me, I just think
- 18:26Speaker 2: like when certain lines get crossed, like I just kind
- 18:29Speaker 2: of like, I think it's best that we go our
- 18:31Speaker 2: separate ways or whatever, and we had already went our
- 18:34Speaker 2: separate ways, like we weren't dating, you know, when that
- 18:37Speaker 2: wo that shit hit the headlines or whatever, we weren't dating.
- 18:40Speaker 2: Like we weren't speaking out, like I told y'all, Like
- 18:42Speaker 2: we weren't having any type of dialogue at all from
- 18:45Speaker 2: March into August. And then they came back to the
- 18:47Speaker 2: table through her management and her team or whatever, and
- 18:50Speaker 2: said that we wanted to work again, and we decided
- 18:52Speaker 2: to work again, and it went.
- 18:53Speaker 7: Well, you know, but she obviously had some feelings towards it,
- 18:57Speaker 7: because if she got mad that you were at arrest
- 19:00Speaker 7: and didn't speak to her, you know, it's kind of like,
- 19:03Speaker 7: you know, she kind of felt a certain type of way,
- 19:05Speaker 7: like emotions were still involved.
- 19:07Speaker 2: It's always gonna be like that, you know, Like me
- 19:09Speaker 2: and her, we did so many monumental things together. That's
- 19:12Speaker 2: a part of like a huge like a chapter in
- 19:14Speaker 2: her life and a chapter in my life. That like
- 19:17Speaker 2: it's three years of us working together, you know and
- 19:20Speaker 2: just going crazy. So I kind of feel like maybe
- 19:23Speaker 2: that could have been there, and me being an older guy,
- 19:25Speaker 2: like I'm almost ten years older than the team I'm
- 19:27Speaker 2: like nine years older than her. She's twenty seven. I'm
- 19:29Speaker 2: thirty seven. So it's kind of like it's a difference
- 19:32Speaker 2: of balance. Like so when certain things happened with me,
- 19:35Speaker 2: like she might not have seen it through my perspective,
- 19:37Speaker 2: through my POV, and I stepped back a little bit,
- 19:40Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying, just to kind of like
- 19:43Speaker 2: understand what was going on. And you know, I mean
- 19:46Speaker 2: I can't speak for what her feelings was. You know,
- 19:48Speaker 2: clearly it was some type of feeling to the situation,
- 19:50Speaker 2: but at that point, like I didn't even you know,
- 19:53Speaker 2: I was already like moving in a different direction. And
- 19:56Speaker 2: I know you was probably kind of hurt that she
- 19:58Speaker 2: went to the Internet. And instead of a lot of things,
- 20:02Speaker 2: I wasn't necessarily hurt. I was just more embarrassed for
- 20:05Speaker 2: her and for me at the same time. You know,
- 20:07Speaker 2: cause for me, I was embarrassed for her first cause
- 20:10Speaker 2: it's like I never seen like she she not Like
- 20:12Speaker 2: I never wanted that, at least any type of scandalous
- 20:16Speaker 2: type shit, you know what I'm saying on the internet
- 20:17Speaker 2: to involve me in it. Like we would sit and
- 20:20Speaker 2: talk about situations like that or whatever and just be
- 20:22Speaker 2: like damn, Like that's crazy, like we would see that,
- 20:25Speaker 2: but it was unfortunate for me. I mean, shit, I'm
- 20:28Speaker 2: we just got to be talking. I'm still a Heisberg
- 20:30Speaker 2: young bird, like I'm kind of like.
- 20:35Speaker 6: For a long time.
- 20:36Speaker 3: Yeah, a lot of people didn't know y'all dated until
- 20:39Speaker 3: that that situation.
- 20:41Speaker 2: I think she just probably made an impulsive you know
- 20:43Speaker 2: what I'm saying, decision and get that, And unfortunately you
- 20:47Speaker 2: can't take back those situations in real time once they
- 20:50Speaker 2: really happened. And I'm just not like an internet nigga
- 20:53Speaker 2: at all, you know what I'm saying, Like, if I'm
- 20:54Speaker 2: gonna come and be on the internet, I'm gonna come
- 20:56Speaker 2: and talk my piece or speak any anybody. Look at
- 20:59Speaker 2: my Instagram. Just literally accomplishments or me working in the
- 21:02Speaker 2: studio so much shit, Platinum records, Yeah, sold like over
- 21:06Speaker 2: one hundred and fifty million records, Like not even like
- 21:09Speaker 2: a thing, you know. So it was definitely love. Going
- 21:11Speaker 2: back to the concept of the whole thing, it was love.
- 21:15Speaker 2: It wasn't it wasn't the money situation, you know, Like,
- 21:18Speaker 2: and I still got your love, yeah, yeah, of course
- 21:21Speaker 2: I still got mad love and respect for her. You
- 21:23Speaker 2: know what I'm saying. And the real thing is, like
- 21:25Speaker 2: a lot of people got to dial into this when
- 21:27Speaker 2: you say you love somebody, if y'all don't end out
- 21:30Speaker 2: in like a super bad situation, you know what I'm saying, Like,
- 21:32Speaker 2: cause this situation was this situation. It wasn't the greatest.
- 21:36Speaker 2: You know, I would have preferred it win another way,
- 21:38Speaker 2: but man, like, I'm gonna want to be happy, and
- 21:42Speaker 2: I still love her, and I wanted to be the
- 21:44Speaker 2: most successful she can be in it. I still love her,
- 21:46Speaker 2: she being with someone else or whatever, you know, Like
- 21:48Speaker 2: I really got genuine love, Like I look at it
- 21:51Speaker 2: like family. So it's just unfortunate that she let the
- 21:53Speaker 2: internet in ToIP business.
- 21:54Speaker 7: You know, at that moment, Dang, man, I thought this
- 21:56Speaker 7: was gonna last. Man, like the Chicago connection, Man, this
- 22:00Speaker 7: is gonna be be it.
- 22:03Speaker 2: I mean, you know, I'm not the same person I
- 22:05Speaker 2: was when we initially started working together and vibbing together,
- 22:08Speaker 2: and she's not the same person. And what I'm mad
- 22:11Speaker 2: enough to say is that, man, Like, in reality, what
- 22:15Speaker 2: I learned when dealing with her is that like we
- 22:17Speaker 2: both like put each other, Like we've been through so
- 22:19Speaker 2: many trials, tripulations, that we put each other first. You
- 22:21Speaker 2: know what I'm saying. I put myself first and she
- 22:23Speaker 2: put herself first. So like, let's not you know what
- 22:26Speaker 2: I'm saying, crash out behind it. Let's keep being successful.
- 22:28Speaker 2: And you know what I'm saying, understand like the thought
- 22:31Speaker 2: process between both of us, like man, like we just
- 22:34Speaker 2: had it to win it.
- 22:35Speaker 6: Do you ever see yourself getting married?
- 22:39Speaker 2: I don't know, Like a lot of people UH want
- 22:42Speaker 2: me to, Like, you know what I'm.
- 22:43Speaker 6: Saying, You think you're not a marriage guy?
- 22:49Speaker 2: Got a relationship guy?
- 22:50Speaker 6: Okay, cause you're like a ladies man. You got a
- 22:52Speaker 6: lot of ladies.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Are you in a relationship or no? No, I don't
- 22:56Speaker 2: believe in having just like one woman. But I'm open
- 23:00Speaker 2: and I'm honest upfront about it. You know what I'm saying.
- 23:02Speaker 2: I'm not saying I can't only be with one woman,
- 23:05Speaker 2: but I just want to be like transparent of what
- 23:07Speaker 2: the real, the reality of my lifestyle and what I
- 23:11Speaker 2: got going on because a lot of times when I
- 23:13Speaker 2: start these relationships with women, we're friends first, so and
- 23:18Speaker 2: we don't even know each other. And you just told
- 23:20Speaker 2: me I was the ladies man, and this that and
- 23:21Speaker 2: the third so you kind of know the nigga you're
- 23:23Speaker 2: going to talk to or whatever before you go put
- 23:26Speaker 2: your fucking like you already got your foot in the pool.
- 23:29Speaker 7: Halfways from your public track record, it looks like you
- 23:32Speaker 7: like you the ladies.
- 23:33Speaker 6: Man, it just seems that.
- 23:35Speaker 2: Man, Yeah, I do very much.
- 23:36Speaker 7: So what do the women say when you put that
- 23:39Speaker 7: out there to them? Are they okay with that? And
- 23:41Speaker 7: then they find out they're really not?
- 23:44Speaker 2: I don't think that. It's more so like, okay, well,
- 23:47Speaker 2: I'm just into being like best friends and building situations
- 23:50Speaker 2: with people, you know, And then at the age I am,
- 23:53Speaker 2: of course, I don't have no kids, don't have anohing,
- 23:55Speaker 2: so I'm gonna take it there, you know what I'm
- 23:57Speaker 2: saying at some point eventually. But at the same token,
- 24:00Speaker 2: it's more so I don't know. I'm just I'm just
- 24:03Speaker 2: in love with my career right now. Honestly.
- 24:05Speaker 4: We'll be right back with more of the Baller Alert Show.
- 24:13Speaker 4: You're listening to a special edition of The Baller Alert Show.
- 24:16Speaker 2: Whatever y'all boy hit making a building man? They want
- 24:19Speaker 2: to know who do the tag and shit hit Maker?
- 24:22Speaker 2: Ball Alert back.
- 24:23Speaker 7: With more of the Baller Alert Show. We got hit
- 24:25Speaker 7: maker in the building. You have so many accomplishments and
- 24:30Speaker 7: you have done so much that we know. But just
- 24:32Speaker 7: for the audience, can you just explain a little bit
- 24:35Speaker 7: of your background. We know you're from Chicago, you was privileged, Yeah.
- 24:40Speaker 5: Were you raised in the suburbs?
- 24:41Speaker 2: My early life, like up until like sixth grade, I
- 24:45Speaker 2: was probably in the urbs or whatever. But I moved
- 24:47Speaker 2: to the East Side with my father on eighty first
- 24:51Speaker 2: and Elis. I went to school right over there, and
- 24:53Speaker 2: then from there I transition and went kind of like
- 24:56Speaker 2: to a Foster Park into that area, and I lived
- 24:59Speaker 2: there with my father all the way up until I
- 25:01Speaker 2: left Chicago and kind of went to LA And I
- 25:05Speaker 2: got my first start in LA. My first song Sexy
- 25:08Speaker 2: Lady I Ain't Gonna Like. So that was your first
- 25:11Speaker 2: big record?
- 25:12Speaker 6: Well, he was Iceberg, I was with.
- 25:16Speaker 5: I want you to talk about that real quick, because
- 25:18Speaker 5: that's kind of like an untapped How did the DMX
- 25:22Speaker 5: situation happen? So how were you?
- 25:25Speaker 8: So?
- 25:25Speaker 2: I was probably like thirteen fourteen and always been into music,
- 25:31Speaker 2: excuse me, and I went and I had a bunch
- 25:34Speaker 2: of guys that were street guys that was in Chicago
- 25:38Speaker 2: that really invested the money behind us, and I ended
- 25:40Speaker 2: up meeting my mentor Bugs and Boogs is the guy
- 25:43Speaker 2: that kind of like under noo id best friends of
- 25:47Speaker 2: Kanye West, all these different people and had these different
- 25:49Speaker 2: relationships and kind of like formed and turned me into
- 25:52Speaker 2: a producer. So at that point, the street dudes this
- 25:54Speaker 2: back in the day, like they had connections and they
- 25:56Speaker 2: had money. So I had a big working on crazy
- 26:00Speaker 2: Like jay Z wanted to sign me every label. I
- 26:03Speaker 2: think it was like twelve different labels, and I just
- 26:06Speaker 2: went from previously asking my father to purchase me Fleshing
- 26:09Speaker 2: my Flesh, Flood of my Blood dmx CD for Christmas
- 26:12Speaker 2: and DMX was like the biggest shit in the world
- 26:15Speaker 2: to me, Like jay Z's my favorite rapper. But DMX
- 26:17Speaker 2: at that point was just bar none the guy. And
- 26:22Speaker 2: we ended up meeting at what these bitches want from
- 26:25Speaker 2: a Nigga video And we was in LA and like
- 26:29Speaker 2: he had his trailer and I never forget when I
- 26:31Speaker 2: first met him or whatever, like they rushed me up
- 26:33Speaker 2: to him like yo, Like I was like four foot
- 26:35Speaker 2: four or some shit like that. Back then, I was
- 26:37Speaker 2: like a little bitty nigga and they was like, yo,
- 26:39Speaker 2: meet Iceberg and fucking you like shorty, uh, I'm gonna
- 26:42Speaker 2: go smoke this weed real quick, and he got like
- 26:44Speaker 2: two girls with him or whatever, like I'm going ahead
- 26:46Speaker 2: and listen, smoke this and I'll come back and see
- 26:48Speaker 2: you went smoked that shit they sent me on the
- 26:51Speaker 2: trailer and I was just like it was like rap
- 26:53Speaker 2: because it's back in the day. It's like it's weird now,
- 26:55Speaker 2: like you got to have so much social media presence.
- 27:00Speaker 5: Yeah, radio like DJ's PLAYGGA was just like rap, like
- 27:04Speaker 5: just a rap, Like I'm like, you want to hear
- 27:06Speaker 5: my demo?
- 27:07Speaker 1: No rap?
- 27:09Speaker 6: They want the raw talent supposed to today it was
- 27:11Speaker 6: already made.
- 27:12Speaker 2: So I kind of like I spit like a fast
- 27:15Speaker 2: tongue twister like twister like west Side Chicago stick. I
- 27:18Speaker 2: don't know nothing, smoker, and he was like, Yo, Shorty,
- 27:20Speaker 2: I don't know what the fuck you're talking about. Slow down,
- 27:23Speaker 2: say something different. So I said like a slower rap
- 27:26Speaker 2: that was like forty bars and he was like, Yo,
- 27:29Speaker 2: I'm gonna sign you. Like they cain't even listen to
- 27:31Speaker 2: my demo, Like niggas just right there like yo. On
- 27:33Speaker 2: the spot on the trailer, everybody goes crazy. I'm a
- 27:36Speaker 2: little young kid. I had more bricks than motherfucking Pablo
- 27:40Speaker 2: Esketball in my rap. So I was just the wildest
- 27:42Speaker 2: young nigga and just going crazy with a bunch of
- 27:44Speaker 2: street niggas. And they was just like, yo, I'm gonna
- 27:47Speaker 2: sign you, and he was like on the spot. So
- 27:49Speaker 2: at that point, shit, that was my journey with DMX
- 27:52Speaker 2: from right there. I came back to the video shoot
- 27:54Speaker 2: the next day and fucking Kevin Lows was. I was
- 27:57Speaker 2: sitting there and I was smoking a blunt and Kevin
- 27:58Speaker 2: Lows like many life about to change, and they was
- 28:01Speaker 2: playing my demo, our DMX trailer like winting that shit,
- 28:04Speaker 2: going crazy and clasting, And that was the start of
- 28:07Speaker 2: my career with him.
- 28:08Speaker 6: Where did the name Iceberg come from?
- 28:10Speaker 2: I used to wear a hell of Iceberg clothes, Like
- 28:13Speaker 2: I got that shit tiled on me. Still, how's your
- 28:14Speaker 2: favorite clothing lines?
- 28:15Speaker 5: Yeah, like that was the ball and shit that was
- 28:17Speaker 5: like the fucking chrome mark at this area right now,
- 28:20Speaker 5: you know what I'm saying, Like it was very expensive.
- 28:22Speaker 5: When did you change it? The young Bird Eve changed
- 28:25Speaker 5: my name to young Bird. So I'm like this back
- 28:27Speaker 5: in like them yeah, Rough Riders. Yeah, my first songwriting
- 28:31Speaker 5: placement ever. Like she was like a super mentor to me,
- 28:34Speaker 5: and like I used to live at like, man, I
- 28:36Speaker 5: used to be around Eve everywhere, Troy Carter, Jay, Irving,
- 28:40Speaker 5: all these different guys or whatever they used to manage her.
- 28:42Speaker 5: And my first writing place was Eve. I did Evolution.
- 28:47Speaker 2: It was the title track of her last album that
- 28:49Speaker 2: she dropped or whatever on Rough Riders or whatever, and
- 28:52Speaker 2: I wrote the hook and I was I actually got
- 28:54Speaker 2: vocals still on the record. But you know, she was
- 28:57Speaker 2: this back in the day when nigga was like popping,
- 29:00Speaker 2: and like you know how Dame Bash got there and
- 29:02Speaker 2: she's like burging ten though you like young burging ten
- 29:05Speaker 2: da da da, you call me young Bergen. That's how
- 29:07Speaker 2: it happened.
- 29:08Speaker 7: A lot of women have had great hands in your career.
- 29:12Speaker 7: Can you talk about what Nicki Minaj did.
- 29:15Speaker 2: For you, Man, I ain't gonna lie like Nicki kind
- 29:17Speaker 2: of like came in and changed my life and kind
- 29:20Speaker 2: of restructured the whole shit. So, like, I'm real big
- 29:23Speaker 2: into manifesting things, you know, like going into the studio,
- 29:26Speaker 2: making a record, doing something or whatever. So I went
- 29:29Speaker 2: to the studio, I just signed my first publishing deal
- 29:31Speaker 2: with APG or second publishing deal, and Mike Caroon had
- 29:34Speaker 2: me in a studio and I went in there and
- 29:37Speaker 2: I did a reference and I did a hook on
- 29:39Speaker 2: this track and I named it Nicky and hit Maker,
- 29:41Speaker 2: and I went and pulled up on my bro one
- 29:43Speaker 2: day at the studio and the next day, excuse me,
- 29:46Speaker 2: the very next day, I went put up on my
- 29:47Speaker 2: guy sound shut out to Sounds. He was working in
- 29:50Speaker 2: the studio. He had the high hand. He was going crazy.
- 29:52Speaker 2: And then my bro doc was like, yo, I just
- 29:55Speaker 2: seen Nicki Minaj. She in the other room, and I'm like,
- 29:57Speaker 2: for real, I'm like, yo, go tell her. I want
- 29:59Speaker 2: to holler at her. He said. He went over that
- 30:01Speaker 2: talked to her security like we're gonna come back and
- 30:03Speaker 2: get you in twenty minutes. And then shit, they came
- 30:05Speaker 2: back and got me in twenty minutes. And I went there.
- 30:07Speaker 2: I just press played on a record I did the
- 30:09Speaker 2: previous night, a bunch of other shit. She was fucking
- 30:12Speaker 2: with it, and that allowed me to do like four
- 30:14Speaker 2: or five records. I think it's four or five records
- 30:16Speaker 2: on that Pink Print album. Oh shit, she really just
- 30:20Speaker 2: gave me her studio, Like the best thing she ever
- 30:22Speaker 2: did for me, like was She's giving me free reign
- 30:25Speaker 2: and be creative. Like she was just like, yo, whether
- 30:27Speaker 2: I'm here or I'm not here, just pull up every day,
- 30:30Speaker 2: like pull up, you got new shit. Let's just vibe out.
- 30:33Speaker 2: And she kind of put me in position to where
- 30:35Speaker 2: like people are like what the fuck is young Bird
- 30:37Speaker 2: doing in Niki Studio with Nicki Minaj? And like she
- 30:40Speaker 2: would take me to how are you this time? This
- 30:43Speaker 2: right before Love and Hip Hop at the Break it's
- 30:47Speaker 2: like two thousand twelve or something like that, whatever Pink
- 30:52Speaker 2: Brain came out, it's like thirteen. This is like one
- 30:54Speaker 2: of them moments to where like even a records that
- 30:57Speaker 2: I did, like I feel like I did like classic
- 30:59Speaker 2: Nicki Minaj, wrak I do your favorite with her and
- 31:01Speaker 2: Jeremiah still see girls pulling that you were lucky to
- 31:03Speaker 2: give my mean ass like you and all these different
- 31:05Speaker 2: records or whatever. Like I did a lot of great
- 31:07Speaker 2: work with her on that project, and I'm really proud
- 31:10Speaker 2: of how was Nikki as a as a person To me,
- 31:13Speaker 2: it was it was all gracious, It was all beautiful,
- 31:15Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying, Like she ain't do nothing
- 31:17Speaker 2: but show me love. I mean I'm sure that uh
- 31:21Speaker 2: it's politics to whatever situation that go on, but like
- 31:24Speaker 2: me personally, like it wasn't. It wasn't never like nothing crazy,
- 31:28Speaker 2: Like I think, you know, it's weird, Like we had
- 31:32Speaker 2: like a brother sister relationship. So I wouldn't compare my
- 31:35Speaker 2: relationship to somebody that she worked with, because like I
- 31:38Speaker 2: was really there, Like I was really with her every day,
- 31:41Speaker 2: like we were really like sharing real experiences or whatever,
- 31:44Speaker 2: and like it kind of like opened my eyes. It
- 31:46Speaker 2: was kind of like boot camp for me. It is
- 31:47Speaker 2: like a songwriter producer type shit for it.
- 31:49Speaker 7: But you had your own hits at this time too,
- 31:51Speaker 7: because you had sexy can I sexy lady, you had
- 31:58Speaker 7: success of your own.
- 31:59Speaker 6: What was that like when you started, you know, cranking
- 32:02Speaker 6: out those hits?
- 32:04Speaker 2: Damn The crazy thing is like sexy Lady, Like I
- 32:07Speaker 2: used to go in the club. It was a club
- 32:09Speaker 2: called Damn he forgetting the name of this shit. But
- 32:14Speaker 2: shout out to my dogs TK. He helps a lot
- 32:17Speaker 2: of people say they catalogs and shit right now. He
- 32:19Speaker 2: was a club promoter. I used to go in there
- 32:21Speaker 2: and like a chinchilla, like every night and perform that
- 32:23Speaker 2: shit or whatever. It's hot as hell, you know what
- 32:26Speaker 2: I'm saying. But I wanted people to see me. And
- 32:29Speaker 2: my manager at the time was another club promoter for
- 32:31Speaker 2: the club, so like we would go to La Rouse
- 32:34Speaker 2: and get like bottles of liquor or whatever, and he
- 32:35Speaker 2: would sneak him in the back and bring him out
- 32:37Speaker 2: of the mock like he was mother fucking buying bottles
- 32:40Speaker 2: and shit. And DJ Echo was a main DJ and
- 32:42Speaker 2: Power one th six at the time, and they would
- 32:44Speaker 2: spin my shit and then from there I came in
- 32:47Speaker 2: like a setting like this or whatever, and I went
- 32:49Speaker 2: and told my life story in front of Dje Man
- 32:52Speaker 2: the whole Power one on six staff, and they were like, yeah,
- 32:54Speaker 2: we're gonna get this record a shot. And the record
- 32:57Speaker 2: got a shot and it was the number one record,
- 32:59Speaker 2: like it was how rotation number one in La before
- 33:02Speaker 2: I ever had a record deal, and that prompted me
- 33:04Speaker 2: to get my label deal with Epic Records being from
- 33:07Speaker 2: there like I had Sexy Can I, but I had
- 33:11Speaker 2: the business first with my artist Cash at the time.
- 33:14Speaker 2: And I loved that record, like I like that, I'm
- 33:15Speaker 2: just gonna be like one of them ones like is
- 33:17Speaker 2: out of here. The label wanted me to do Sexy
- 33:20Speaker 2: Cana and like, I was like, bro, like I'm about
- 33:23Speaker 2: to be the sexiest nigga in fucking America. You know
- 33:26Speaker 2: what I'm saying, Like yo, from Sexy Lady to Sexy
- 33:28Speaker 2: can I. So I was just like no. And long
- 33:32Speaker 2: story short, I think Charlie Walker was the president of
- 33:34Speaker 2: the company at the time. He brought me a chain.
- 33:36Speaker 5: I'm like, yo, he like, what do you need to
- 33:37Speaker 5: do this record? I'm like, I want to epic record chain.
- 33:40Speaker 5: You got to call Jason and Jueler right now and
- 33:42Speaker 5: buy me a chain. When brought me a chain, so
- 33:44Speaker 5: shit from fucking from the Loewe's Hotel to Wet Willie's,
- 33:48Speaker 5: we walked down the street and I wrote the verses
- 33:51Speaker 5: to a fucking Sexy.
- 33:52Speaker 2: Cana and then went and did the song in Miami
- 33:54Speaker 2: and was done with it.
- 33:55Speaker 5: So very few artists have two careers. I feel like
- 34:00Speaker 5: you had three, Yeah, because when did hit makers start?
- 34:06Speaker 2: I ain't had no hits. That's what was crazy. It
- 34:09Speaker 2: was really a ballsy move. Like I was in Miami
- 34:12Speaker 2: and like trying to find my way in Like I
- 34:14Speaker 2: was just writing records and this is like a prior
- 34:17Speaker 2: to me working with Tamar doing the one for her
- 34:19Speaker 2: on her album Loving War and shit like that, and
- 34:22Speaker 2: I was just in the studio with my god Jordan Hollywood,
- 34:24Speaker 2: just making hooks or whatever. Because I realized in Miami
- 34:27Speaker 2: that my shit was still hot. They just didn't want
- 34:30Speaker 2: it from me, you know what I'm saying. And it
- 34:33Speaker 2: fucked me up because it's like I ain't no ugly nigga,
- 34:36Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying, Like I ain't no la,
- 34:38Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying. Like I'm still like dealing
- 34:40Speaker 2: with beautiful women, like I was still living a rapper life.
- 34:43Speaker 2: But it's just like with the Internet come in and
- 34:46Speaker 2: all the other shit, like they just didn't want it
- 34:48Speaker 2: from me. Me working with Nikki and all this shit.
- 34:51Speaker 2: Like I'm literally doing Nicki album while we shooting Love
- 34:53Speaker 2: and hip Hop at the same time. Like Love and
- 34:56Speaker 2: hip Hop was like a guilty pleasure, you know what
- 34:57Speaker 2: I'm saying. For a lot of people, it was still
- 34:59Speaker 2: early on. It was real people that was like you
- 35:02Speaker 2: could see in real time. So with me turning the
- 35:05Speaker 2: hit maker, I probably think it was like twenty twelve
- 35:08Speaker 2: and I just said it like I was just like
- 35:09Speaker 2: hit making.
- 35:10Speaker 5: Who's Who's that on that drop? By the way, as
- 35:13Speaker 5: you continue, he got on his record call Yeah, I
- 35:17Speaker 5: did it for DJ Infamous first, Like I was just saying,
- 35:20Speaker 5: from his last night. He had a record that went
- 35:23Speaker 5: crazy called Double Cup with to Chris Juicy J. I
- 35:26Speaker 5: was on the hook and jeezy and fucking up.
- 35:29Speaker 2: I was at the shoot. That was the first time
- 35:31Speaker 2: I said it like publicly, and shit, I was like,
- 35:33Speaker 2: fuck it, I'm just riding out with this hit maker
- 35:36Speaker 2: and it just happened organically. But and then love and
- 35:39Speaker 2: hip hop continues also go ahead, what you know?
- 35:43Speaker 7: That was just an error, Like you said, it was
- 35:45Speaker 7: a part of you know, that was when golden love
- 35:48Speaker 7: and hip hop was really good, Like everybody was locked in.
- 35:51Speaker 7: They was doing watch parties and all that stuff, and
- 35:53Speaker 7: you were a part of that. I was just asking
- 35:56Speaker 7: about your experience in that time.
- 35:58Speaker 2: Did you like it? Yeah? So from that time, I'm
- 36:00Speaker 2: in I'm living here in Atlanta, so I said, heit
- 36:03Speaker 2: Maker in Miami. I moved to Atlanta. That's how I
- 36:06Speaker 2: was able to do the record with Infamous, and I'm
- 36:09Speaker 2: just moving around out here, and I just felt like
- 36:11Speaker 2: it was like super clickie you know what I'm saying,
- 36:14Speaker 2: which is still probably is like Polo and them be
- 36:16Speaker 2: over here, and Tricky and them over here or whatever,
- 36:18Speaker 2: and Tea Pain is all the way over there. You
- 36:21Speaker 2: know what I'm saying, Like trying to make some shit happen,
- 36:24Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying.
- 36:25Speaker 1: Like, so.
- 36:27Speaker 2: I'm like, fucking I'm moving back to LA. And I
- 36:30Speaker 2: moved back to LA and the girl Hazel, she she
- 36:33Speaker 2: kind of came to me like, Yo, we're doing love
- 36:35Speaker 2: and hip hop. Ray J's on it. At that point,
- 36:37Speaker 2: I ain't talked to ray J and I these people
- 36:39Speaker 2: whatever and so long, and She's like, Yo, such and such,
- 36:43Speaker 2: such and such. And me and Hazel was cool because
- 36:46Speaker 2: I've known her since I was young bird or whatever.
- 36:48Speaker 2: So it wasn't never like a dating situation or nothing
- 36:52Speaker 2: like that. We was just cool. When she brought it
- 36:53Speaker 2: to the table, like yo, like I'm your homegirl, this
- 36:56Speaker 2: what's up? Blah blah blah. So we did it and
- 36:58Speaker 2: then the camera just start I mean, once it all
- 37:02Speaker 2: came to the table, it was mad.
- 37:05Speaker 4: It was.
- 37:05Speaker 2: It was very interesting because like, so y'all weren't a
- 37:08Speaker 2: couple on the show. I'm gonna break it down. So
- 37:10Speaker 2: once it all came to the tables, fad interesting because
- 37:13Speaker 2: like when uh, the cast kind of assembled, like we
- 37:17Speaker 2: all assembled, like I think we were in Santa Monica
- 37:19Speaker 2: like for like a meet just to see everybody or whatever,
- 37:23Speaker 2: and like I've been with like multiple girls that was
- 37:27Speaker 2: on the cast, so like it was very weird. Ill
- 37:31Speaker 2: slept with not been in a relationship.
- 37:33Speaker 6: Before, like before the season started.
- 37:35Speaker 2: Oh in La, it's l a ship, like I lived there.
- 37:38Speaker 2: I'm young berg in La.
- 37:39Speaker 3: Like all these people are people that happen, so you
- 37:42Speaker 3: have to take the producers like my past life.
- 37:45Speaker 2: Like you know what I'm saying. Life Like they kind
- 37:49Speaker 2: of like it was just weird and Morna was like,
- 37:51Speaker 2: so bird, who have you? I'm like, you know I
- 37:56Speaker 2: used to. It was just it was just weird. It
- 37:58Speaker 2: was just bad. So we get on them.
- 38:01Speaker 6: And there wasn't a lot of ladies on that that season.
- 38:04Speaker 2: Well, to be honest, when we initially started the season,
- 38:11Speaker 2: I was dating somebody else and out of respect for
- 38:15Speaker 2: whatever she dealing with right now whatever, and got going on.
- 38:18Speaker 2: I ain't gonna say her name, but I was dating.
- 38:20Speaker 2: I was in a whole relationship with another girl was
- 38:23Speaker 2: on the show. Yeah, that's a very popular girl right now.
- 38:26Speaker 2: So we were dating and like it was weird for us,
- 38:30Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying, And like I was trying
- 38:31Speaker 2: to like get used to what was going on. It
- 38:34Speaker 2: was like super weird. And I remember I went to
- 38:36Speaker 2: Miami to work with Diddy on an album that he
- 38:39Speaker 2: was working on around that time, and I came back
- 38:42Speaker 2: and Monad fired off the show like so look I
- 38:46Speaker 2: come back. This is what's so crazy. I come back
- 38:49Speaker 2: from Miami and they pick you up, you know, they
- 38:51Speaker 2: don't like at that point, Like they come pick you
- 38:53Speaker 2: up in like a minivan or some shit and they
- 38:55Speaker 2: got sorok or whatever, and like you go and get
- 38:57Speaker 2: them ani van and they tell you what they were
- 38:59Speaker 2: they yo, well, like shorts and a T shirt and
- 39:02Speaker 2: blah blah blah. So I'm thinking I'm fin gonna play
- 39:04Speaker 2: basketball like Soldier boy, and what these niggas are some
- 39:06Speaker 2: like O Marion, I'm drinking in the van. We get
- 39:10Speaker 2: there and we at Hazel House and at that point
- 39:14Speaker 2: I was like, damn, what is this, you know, like
- 39:16Speaker 2: cause I was dating the other person that was on
- 39:19Speaker 2: the show, and I'm like, yo, I'm not doing a
- 39:21Speaker 2: scene like I'm not doing this like this ship lane,
- 39:24Speaker 2: like y'all trying to make me look like I'm two timing,
- 39:26Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying, like blah blah blah, and
- 39:28Speaker 2: Mona just appeared out of there like Kruella Deville like
- 39:31Speaker 2: burg let me talk, let me talk to you. You
- 39:34Speaker 2: make Stevie jb loving hip by Bollywood, and I'm just
- 39:37Speaker 2: like yo whatever. In the end, they told me that
- 39:40Speaker 2: they end up firing the girl that I was dating,
- 39:44Speaker 2: and because we had kind of fell out that weekend,
- 39:46Speaker 2: like I went out that weekend and me and her
- 39:48Speaker 2: fell out, like broke up, and then they told me
- 39:51Speaker 2: fire and then she was just like, yo, you gotta
- 39:53Speaker 2: do this. And at that point, nobody knew like me
- 39:56Speaker 2: as hit Maker or anything I had going on. So
- 39:58Speaker 2: I wanted to expose because Nikki and Diddy and different
- 40:02Speaker 2: people that I were working with were perfectly fine with
- 40:05Speaker 2: me saying that I was working with them currently on
- 40:07Speaker 2: the show. So that was kind of like the piece
- 40:09Speaker 2: of the situation that I was trying to hold on to.
- 40:12Speaker 2: And then shit, I walked in there and they just
- 40:14Speaker 2: turned on me in a hazel e relationship. Now, mind
- 40:17Speaker 2: you I'm not saying nothing wrong about Hazel Wee because
- 40:20Speaker 2: in hindsight, I do still have a lot of love
- 40:24Speaker 2: for Hazelweed. Like a lot of different things happen. I
- 40:26Speaker 2: know that that was a traumatic period of her life
- 40:28Speaker 2: or whatever, and like we were all young trying to
- 40:31Speaker 2: figure it out, and you know, like I'm not finna
- 40:34Speaker 2: be the person that's talking down on her whatever, Like
- 40:36Speaker 2: I had I dealt with her before, you know what
- 40:39Speaker 2: I'm saying, But we wasn't into like a deep rooted
- 40:42Speaker 2: relationship to where it is. But the alcohol, the cameras
- 40:46Speaker 2: and just what the show does, because what they don't
- 40:49Speaker 2: tell is that they don't get paid unless you win
- 40:51Speaker 2: a show. I can't speak for her, so I know
- 40:54Speaker 2: what my motive was, you know what I'm saying. Like,
- 40:56Speaker 2: so me turning up and doing all this other shit
- 40:58Speaker 2: is just like yo, I'm doing all this, I'm not
- 41:00Speaker 2: getting paid, And like I just look back at that
- 41:03Speaker 2: time and like I really am truly embarrassed by the shit,
- 41:06Speaker 2: cause it's like man like people still are attached to
- 41:09Speaker 2: that and still carrying that And I'm a whole different
- 41:11Speaker 2: person in my career, a whole nother nigga. But a
- 41:14Speaker 2: lot of things that happen in that situation. People will
- 41:17Speaker 2: attach it to it and be like, oh well, and
- 41:20Speaker 2: to me, it's like it's ten years ago. You know,
- 41:22Speaker 2: it's a decade ago.
- 41:23Speaker 6: But I feel you.
- 41:24Speaker 2: I got love for Hazewee, you know what I'm saying.
- 41:26Speaker 2: I got love for all those different people. And you know, like,
- 41:29Speaker 2: I just hate what the show does to people. It
- 41:31Speaker 2: kind of put you in a mix of having to
- 41:33Speaker 2: continue to do it. And I'm just grateful to be
- 41:36Speaker 2: out and I'm wishing nothing but love and like to
- 41:39Speaker 2: all them. We'll be right back.
- 41:41Speaker 4: Stay tuned with more of The ball Er Alert Show.
- 41:51Speaker 4: You're listening to a special edition of The Baller Alert Show.
- 41:54Speaker 2: Whatever y'all boy hit making a building Man. They want
- 41:56Speaker 2: to know who do the tag and shit hit Maka.
- 42:00Speaker 2: I got a question for you.
- 42:01Speaker 5: I'm a big mental health person and I asked everyone
- 42:04Speaker 5: that we interview. You seem like you're in a very
- 42:07Speaker 5: stable mental space right now. Do you talk to somebody,
- 42:13Speaker 5: do you get counseling, do you go to therapy or
- 42:16Speaker 5: is that just something that's just how you are.
- 42:18Speaker 2: I'm not per se in therapy. I talk to people
- 42:21Speaker 2: and I got different people that I can lean on
- 42:23Speaker 2: and I really respect their opinion. But I just think
- 42:25Speaker 2: that I've just been doing a lot of self reflecting,
- 42:28Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying, Like what did I do
- 42:29Speaker 2: wrong in this situation? Where was I Where did I
- 42:32Speaker 2: play a partner? Shit? You know, like what could I
- 42:34Speaker 2: could have changed and made better? And like I think
- 42:37Speaker 2: it's all it's all functioning off ego and just like
- 42:40Speaker 2: wanting something to prove, like a lot of shit you
- 42:42Speaker 2: gotta remember, like trials and tribulations and shit that I
- 42:45Speaker 2: went through, Like I always felt like I was overly talented,
- 42:48Speaker 2: that I was working harder than a lot of different people,
- 42:50Speaker 2: and I had that chip on my shoulder, like you know,
- 42:52Speaker 2: because of trials and tribulations that happened when I'm young,
- 42:55Speaker 2: berg or things that might have happened on love and
- 42:57Speaker 2: hip hop. I'm still carrying that type of baggage with
- 43:00Speaker 2: me because people are not looking at me for who
- 43:02Speaker 2: I feel like I am. But once I learned that
- 43:04Speaker 2: I can't, I can't. It's gonna do me better to
- 43:07Speaker 2: not be on Instagram looking at the comments, be like
- 43:10Speaker 2: how the fuck you niggas don't know? How were we
- 43:12Speaker 2: sitting here?
- 43:13Speaker 5: How y'all talking about love of money versus money and
- 43:17Speaker 5: I'm younger. I've been getting money for so I've been
- 43:19Speaker 5: successful for a long time, Like I've sold one hundred
- 43:22Speaker 5: and fifty million records.
- 43:23Speaker 2: It's hit maker, you know what I'm saying. So wanting
- 43:25Speaker 2: to overly try and prove it, like you know what
- 43:28Speaker 2: I'm saying, and do all this other different stuff. It's like, man,
- 43:31Speaker 2: when you really at a good space, just knowing, Like, man,
- 43:33Speaker 2: sit as long as the people around me happy and
- 43:36Speaker 2: I'm providing for the people that's around me and my team,
- 43:38Speaker 2: and I'm building and I'm still going this way and
- 43:41Speaker 2: I'm going up, then I can't really worry about all
- 43:43Speaker 2: the bullshit that's going that way.
- 43:45Speaker 3: Do you feel like that you finally getting like your
- 43:48Speaker 3: flowers being hit maker?
- 43:50Speaker 2: Is a hit maker or hit maker? H maker? Hit maker? Yeah? Maker?
- 43:54Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 43:55Speaker 2: Yeah for sure. Yeah. I mean I ain't really worry
- 44:00Speaker 2: about flowers no more. Like last year, I want Producer
- 44:02Speaker 2: of the Year the BT Awards. We hear again I'm
- 44:04Speaker 2: nominated again, Like I don't really care about it. I've
- 44:06Speaker 2: been nominated for Grammy like fifteen times, Like all that
- 44:09Speaker 2: flowers and shit like it's just like you searching for acceptance.
- 44:14Speaker 2: You want people to be like you know what I'm saying,
- 44:16Speaker 2: Like I respect what you do, Like when I you
- 44:18Speaker 2: look up, you know when I get my flowers like
- 44:20Speaker 2: right now, that they'll be like like I consciously made
- 44:23Speaker 2: an effort, like I remember, like people gonna find a
- 44:25Speaker 2: tweet and look at it at some day like where
- 44:27Speaker 2: I was like, man, I'm about to flip every song
- 44:30Speaker 2: I grew up with on one, O six and park
- 44:31Speaker 2: and be the puff daddy this generation and bring this
- 44:34Speaker 2: sound back and bring all these different shits back. I
- 44:38Speaker 2: did it so much, and I did it so well
- 44:40Speaker 2: that people found it like as a cheek code.
- 44:43Speaker 5: It's infected the whole culture right now, you know what
- 44:45Speaker 5: I'm saying, Like niggas that don't even know the songs
- 44:48Speaker 5: that they flipping. Its flipping songs because they feel like yo,
- 44:50Speaker 5: let me go get this old song or whatever. But
- 44:52Speaker 5: I really learned that from the niggas that came before me,
- 44:55Speaker 5: the JD's, the no IDE's, the Kanye's.
- 44:58Speaker 2: It's just a different era. This shit sampling. Yeah, bro,
- 45:02Speaker 2: Like I ain't gonna lie. I don't work with everybody
- 45:03Speaker 2: like I'm super like fulfilled. My next My next step
- 45:07Speaker 2: is just to break all the new artists. You know
- 45:09Speaker 2: what I'm saying, the opera off of the opportunity and
- 45:11Speaker 2: all the game that I've kind of them been able
- 45:13Speaker 2: to absorb over my career to the next motherfucker for real.
- 45:16Speaker 3: Now you're really excited about breaking new artists because I
- 45:19Speaker 3: feel like it's so hard to break new artists.
- 45:21Speaker 2: Now, man, that's what I was attempting to do with
- 45:25Speaker 2: the prior situation that we spoke on, you know what
- 45:28Speaker 2: I'm saying, because when I bumped into her and we
- 45:31Speaker 2: started working together, it was more so like, Yo, she
- 45:34Speaker 2: has a cod following. I want to take this more mainstream.
- 45:36Speaker 2: We had a number one records together, you know what
- 45:37Speaker 2: I'm saying. So I know it's capable, but I want
- 45:39Speaker 2: to take somebody. I think that it's a different level
- 45:41Speaker 2: to where like Mike Will you know what I'm saying,
- 45:44Speaker 2: got that look he broke Ray Schremmer, you know what
- 45:46Speaker 2: I'm saying, Like, it's certain different people that broke different artists,
- 45:50Speaker 2: and I'm always searching for that. I think that's the
- 45:52Speaker 2: last piece of the puzzle for my career.
- 45:54Speaker 3: I've seen a tweet that Bow was talking about he
- 45:56Speaker 3: got a record out with Chris Brown.
- 46:01Speaker 2: You know what that's looking like because you commented on it.
- 46:03Speaker 2: You was like, yeah, it's one of them ones. Is
- 46:06Speaker 2: it make a record? Yeah?
- 46:08Speaker 5: It is.
- 46:09Speaker 2: Shout out to Bow Wow, shout out to c B,
- 46:11Speaker 2: you know boy, my bro and then me and c B, Like,
- 46:16Speaker 2: I ain't gonna lie, like when we sit back and
- 46:18Speaker 2: we talk or whatever we because we talk, you know
- 46:21Speaker 2: what I'm saying. Like, we speak and it's more so music.
- 46:23Speaker 2: I'm just sending them music or whatever. We sharing ideas
- 46:25Speaker 2: and being collaborative. But in the moments that we do
- 46:28Speaker 2: get to sit down and really talk like man like,
- 46:30Speaker 2: we both got a lot of respect and love for
- 46:32Speaker 2: each other. Like we've done a lot, man, I ain't
- 46:34Speaker 2: gonna lie like, We've done a lot of fucking records together,
- 46:39Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying. And he's helped to really
- 46:41Speaker 2: take my career to another level too, So I'm always
- 46:44Speaker 2: gonna show man love and respecting like it. Man Like,
- 46:46Speaker 2: I'm excited for Boo because shit, okay, ain't no telling
- 46:49Speaker 2: like what happened when you catch your CEB hooking, the
- 46:52Speaker 2: whole shit can change all over again. You know what
- 46:54Speaker 2: I'm saying, not saying that bo ain't legend, but I'm
- 46:56Speaker 2: talking about him having a record in motion, you know
- 46:59Speaker 2: what I'm saying.
- 47:00Speaker 7: To go back real quick, when we were talking about
- 47:02Speaker 7: the breaking records, do you feel like Tink's album did
- 47:04Speaker 7: what you wanted as far as sales and the reception
- 47:07Speaker 7: of it?
- 47:07Speaker 2: Oh? Yeah, we did. We did three projects together, so shit,
- 47:12Speaker 2: we fucking the.
- 47:14Speaker 6: One with the purple covers, the one I'm talking about that's.
- 47:16Speaker 2: Pillow Talk, Okay. I was like, yeah, So she had
- 47:18Speaker 2: our first number one record off that project at radio,
- 47:21Speaker 2: so that was like a super success for her, you
- 47:23Speaker 2: know what I'm saying. And that was like a good,
- 47:26Speaker 2: good moment. And then right after that we came back
- 47:30Speaker 2: with another project and they all sell well and stream
- 47:33Speaker 2: well and do well, you know, like I did. We
- 47:35Speaker 2: did the deals together, so like I know that the
- 47:38Speaker 2: level up every time that something happened, you know. So
- 47:40Speaker 2: I'm just extremely happy for her to see somebody that
- 47:44Speaker 2: from where I'm from, that's you know what I'm saying.
- 47:46Speaker 2: I was instrumental. I'm not anymore, but I was instrumental
- 47:49Speaker 2: when involved into putting her in the right situations and
- 47:52Speaker 2: helping her. You know what I'm saying, to see this
- 47:54Speaker 2: shit that.
- 47:54Speaker 6: She get, you feel like she was a step further
- 47:57Speaker 6: than where she was before she came to you.
- 48:00Speaker 2: I mean, I think she would say that. I think
- 48:01Speaker 2: it's evident, Like you could just look at you know
- 48:04Speaker 2: what I'm saying, her evolution as an artist, and you
- 48:06Speaker 2: can tell that, you know what I'm saying, Like it's
- 48:08Speaker 2: pretty it's kind of written on a while. I'm a
- 48:10Speaker 2: different person I was like those three years ago, So
- 48:13Speaker 2: I mean it's leveled up together type shit.
- 48:15Speaker 6: Seems like evolution is very key and you're growing in life.
- 48:21Speaker 2: Well, ultimately, I'm here to be like the next La Reads,
- 48:26Speaker 2: the next motherfucking Verry Gordy, like that type of shit,
- 48:29Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying, Like, that's what the trajectory
- 48:31Speaker 2: of my career is because I'm great with working with
- 48:34Speaker 2: everybody and just coming in and putting my sauce on
- 48:37Speaker 2: these different situations and turning them up. And I really
- 48:40Speaker 2: want to be that. I want to be that for
- 48:42Speaker 2: executives and I want to be the guy that actually
- 48:44Speaker 2: makes the music that's inside the building, that's telling that.
- 48:47Speaker 2: So a lot of people don't know It's gonna be
- 48:50Speaker 2: my third year being vice president of A and R
- 48:52Speaker 2: for Empire. Prior to that, I worked for four years
- 48:55Speaker 2: at Atlantic Records. Probably sold like forty million records with
- 48:58Speaker 2: Atlantic Records, from Able to Do, Meek Mills first number
- 49:02Speaker 2: one to eight, Boogie's first number one, Look Back at
- 49:04Speaker 2: It Dangerous, all these different records. So a lot of
- 49:07Speaker 2: people don't know that I'm working inside the system, like
- 49:10Speaker 2: I'm inside out and outside the type shit, because I'm
- 49:14Speaker 2: making a record and I'm also the nigga that's inside
- 49:16Speaker 2: the building that had that conversation?
- 49:18Speaker 6: Is that your plan for makeup music to be?
- 49:20Speaker 5: Like?
- 49:21Speaker 2: So, I'm sorry, yeah, Like that's what be on right now.
- 49:24Speaker 2: My new album is coming out top of the year,
- 49:26Speaker 2: and it's it's gonna be it's one of the ones.
- 49:28Speaker 2: What's it gonna be? I don't even know yet? And
- 49:31Speaker 2: are you gonna be back rapping? Rapping? I don't know how.
- 49:36Speaker 5: I might rap once maybe twice. Wait so wait, so wait,
- 49:41Speaker 5: is this gonna be like a like a like a
- 49:43Speaker 5: puff album. Yeah for sure, Yeah, it's like a producer.
- 49:46Speaker 2: Well, it ain't even like a it's done, Like I mean,
- 49:49Speaker 2: I'm seventy percent done with it.
- 49:50Speaker 6: Okay, So is make a sound of subsidiary to Empire?
- 49:54Speaker 2: Yeah, we got a I got joint ventures with Empire,
- 49:58Speaker 2: and then I also got a joint venture with my
- 50:00Speaker 2: publishing company with Apach and Wanna Chapel. So like, I
- 50:03Speaker 2: got a few big deals that's going on. And then
- 50:07Speaker 2: I got other artists that I signed to other companies
- 50:09Speaker 2: being my company as well, So my hands kind of
- 50:12Speaker 2: and everything. For real, are you signing people the Empire
- 50:15Speaker 2: right now? I can if I want to. It's I
- 50:17Speaker 2: think it's dope.
- 50:18Speaker 5: You didn't sign Young Blue, right, No, but I work
- 50:20Speaker 5: with Young Blue, like, okay. I was just trying to
- 50:23Speaker 5: make sure, Nah, chill Blue is my guy, and I
- 50:27Speaker 5: think that yeah, that Blue is a great person. I
- 50:30Speaker 5: think they did they deal Boosy and them, did they deal?
- 50:33Speaker 5: The only thing that I know really like my introduction
- 50:35Speaker 5: in Blue. I ain't gonna lie. I met the Nigga
- 50:38Speaker 5: Blue in an airport. He was with I think he's
- 50:40Speaker 5: with his manager with him right now or another guy.
- 50:43Speaker 5: He was just like like, what's up?
- 50:45Speaker 2: And this before he was blew up with Empire or
- 50:47Speaker 2: whatever like, and I was already in my wave and
- 50:49Speaker 2: he was just like Yo, we're gonna work together. And
- 50:52Speaker 2: I kind of blew the nigga out, like not you know,
- 50:54Speaker 2: but not blew them off, but like pauls like you
- 50:56Speaker 2: know how you in the airport and like it's just
- 50:58Speaker 2: a quick conversation because you got to you trying to
- 51:00Speaker 2: catch your flight. And yeah, so from their shit, I
- 51:03Speaker 2: came back and I never forget I was working with Atlantic,
- 51:06Speaker 2: and like I kind of felt unappreciated Atlantic because I
- 51:08Speaker 2: did so much, and I was looking for them to
- 51:10Speaker 2: like invest into me as a as a as a creative,
- 51:15Speaker 2: like yo, like okay, cool, I've done I've sold all
- 51:17Speaker 2: these records. I'm doing this shit, y'all kind of reactionary
- 51:20Speaker 2: instead of like being like in front of ahead of
- 51:23Speaker 2: the pack with my career, you know what I'm saying.
- 51:25Speaker 2: So let me let me go ahead and try and
- 51:28Speaker 2: figure something else. So I wanted them to buy me
- 51:29Speaker 2: a studio, like similar to how they did for Drama
- 51:33Speaker 2: or whatever, or partner up. You're smart because you got
- 51:37Speaker 2: to understand if Drama God forbid that they stopped doing
- 51:41Speaker 2: business together, that's still a drama studio. And I learned
- 51:44Speaker 2: that from Tricky in La the same way he had
- 51:46Speaker 2: RedZone and all this other stuff. So I was trying
- 51:49Speaker 2: to pack my career around that, and it just never
- 51:52Speaker 2: really came to fruition. And Ghazi came in and with
- 51:55Speaker 2: like a lifesaver like at that point and was like,
- 51:58Speaker 2: how much money's gonna take to get you out the situation.
- 52:00Speaker 2: I was like this, He bought me out. And the
- 52:04Speaker 2: first record I made when I went to Empire was
- 52:06Speaker 2: Baddest with Blue Chris Brown and a big record record.
- 52:11Speaker 2: Literally the first day we went in the studio at
- 52:13Speaker 2: San Francisco, that was the first song we did. How
- 52:15Speaker 2: hard it was to get Chris to do that hook?
- 52:17Speaker 2: It wasn't hard at all. I just was was like, Yo,
- 52:21Speaker 2: we need to get this done. We need to get
- 52:23Speaker 2: this done, something to record. When he liked the record
- 52:25Speaker 2: and he fucked with you, he did that and he
- 52:27Speaker 2: do it and then from there he spawn out and
- 52:30Speaker 2: broke went on tour with him, and it just opened
- 52:32Speaker 2: a lot of different doors for the art. It was
- 52:34Speaker 2: in there, and then from there we did Fireboy Peru
- 52:37Speaker 2: and Sharon shout out to my boy Ivory Scott. Then
- 52:40Speaker 2: from there it just went on and did all.
- 52:43Speaker 5: These teats to say about my brother.
- 52:46Speaker 2: Iris got Yeah, I'm executive producer of his album that's
- 52:49Speaker 2: coming out soon too. He just dropped his record with
- 52:51Speaker 2: Queen Na. Just shout out to Ivory. I'm taking him
- 52:53Speaker 2: to the BET Awards with me tomorrow. And I just
- 52:56Speaker 2: went crazy Empire and just did a bust of moves
- 53:00Speaker 2: out to Eric Belincher. We just had a real big
- 53:02Speaker 2: record that was Curious that's out right now. The big
- 53:05Speaker 2: remix coming to you know what I'm saying, top ten record.
- 53:07Speaker 2: I just start busting my movie.
- 53:09Speaker 5: So your VP of A and R at Empire. How
- 53:12Speaker 5: does an artist get at hitmakerl does? Does hitmaker find you?
- 53:16Speaker 2: And you're not trying both? You know, I just want
- 53:18Speaker 2: the ship to be good, you know what I'm saying, Like,
- 53:21Speaker 2: I think that with the success of certain rappers and
- 53:24Speaker 2: just shit that just be happening overnight or how you
- 53:27Speaker 2: would say industry plan or whatever the fuck theyers want
- 53:29Speaker 2: to say, everybody just think it's so easy to do
- 53:33Speaker 2: this shit now. You know what I'm saying, Like, if
- 53:35Speaker 2: I look good, if you're a girl and it's like
- 53:38Speaker 2: I want rap, like like a lot of strippers dances
- 53:42Speaker 2: people that my first question be like do you love
- 53:45Speaker 2: this shit? Like would you stop dancing to go and
- 53:48Speaker 2: do a project or whatever and really put the energy
- 53:51Speaker 2: into this shit.
- 53:52Speaker 5: I just think that everybody thinks it's very easy. So
- 53:55Speaker 5: I want the shit to be seasoned when it meet me.
- 53:58Speaker 6: So what does make us sound?
- 53:59Speaker 2: Look for it?
- 54:00Speaker 6: If you want to be an artist, just work ethic.
- 54:03Speaker 2: You know, like how we was sitting here and I'm
- 54:05Speaker 2: sitting there holding like myself up to a high situation.
- 54:09Speaker 2: I think that you gotta have more work out than me.
- 54:12Speaker 2: You gotta be in that motherfucker like me. You gotta
- 54:14Speaker 2: be going just as hard as me. Like I don't sleep,
- 54:17Speaker 2: like I don't got no personal life. I don't got nothing.
- 54:20Speaker 2: My whole life is music, which I'm trying to Like
- 54:22Speaker 2: I we saying I'm gonna procreate soon, but I'm trying
- 54:25Speaker 2: to figure trying to figure this out here. But I
- 54:30Speaker 2: just want somebody that that's enthusiastic about doing the work
- 54:34Speaker 2: as much as I am. You know, like I ain't
- 54:36Speaker 2: gonna lie, like I ain't gotta do this shit. I
- 54:38Speaker 2: can hang it up like for real, Like recently, help
- 54:43Speaker 2: help all my people sell portions of their catalog and
- 54:46Speaker 2: you know, do those type of deals that people talking
- 54:48Speaker 2: about and I did one of those deals myself, and
- 54:50Speaker 2: I was just focused on where you saw some of
- 54:52Speaker 2: your catalog. Yeah, I made the right financial moves, like
- 54:55Speaker 2: i'ma keeping honest, like I ain't gotta how much I
- 54:59Speaker 2: don't want to talk. I don't like talking about finding.
- 55:01Speaker 5: Did you do like a privacy thing for that not
- 55:03Speaker 5: to come out? Yeah, of course because it's you, Otherwise
- 55:07Speaker 5: it would have. I just think that, like the next
- 55:10Speaker 5: progression of my my career is just not move like
- 55:12Speaker 5: a nigga.
- 55:13Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying. I can't stop this, Like
- 55:15Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying. I love this I got
- 55:17Speaker 2: I got a million dollars. I was just about to
- 55:19Speaker 2: say that. Yeah, like, but you have to get rid
- 55:22Speaker 2: of that if you but I love it. I'm still
- 55:25Speaker 2: an artist, Like I still love this ship, you know
- 55:27Speaker 2: what I'm saying. But I'm transitioning to where like I'm
- 55:30Speaker 2: gonna put this ship up and give it to somebody else,
- 55:32Speaker 2: and you gonna see me coming here with the suit on.
- 55:34Speaker 2: You don't give it to man, you can donate it to.
- 55:40Speaker 5: Son.
- 55:41Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll put it in a museum.
- 55:43Speaker 5: So you drop one of those on the floor right
- 55:44Speaker 5: now before you live.
- 55:45Speaker 2: It's shout out to mother. Like a lot of these niggas.
- 55:49Speaker 2: Ship don't really be going like there, Like it's like
- 55:53Speaker 2: real sound heavy bt, it's real, real deal different. See
- 55:58Speaker 2: he he real big in a jury.
- 55:59Speaker 5: So yeah, yeah, yes, sir, I'm that ship heavy.
- 56:07Speaker 3: Now you said you want to give it away? Now
- 56:08Speaker 3: you can always donate. I could put it in a
- 56:11Speaker 3: safe place.
- 56:12Speaker 2: This is heavy. That's at least what.
- 56:14Speaker 6: I was just bringing the back of it, it said,
- 56:16Speaker 6: hit versus tink.
- 56:17Speaker 2: I'm just saying, wait what wait what she's talking about
- 56:20Speaker 2: the piece, the Jesus piece? I had this shame, I said,
- 56:23Speaker 2: hit versus tink. Yeah, I paid like motherfucking uh, so
- 56:27Speaker 2: you know I'll pay attention to everything. I thought you
- 56:30Speaker 2: was joking. I did not see that. I think I
- 56:33Speaker 2: paid like clups to two hundred for this cuban and
- 56:36Speaker 2: I had this ship and two hundred thousand. Yeah, and
- 56:38Speaker 2: then on my birthday? How much for the flood of Jesus?
- 56:41Speaker 2: She put the down payment on it. I paid for
- 56:44Speaker 2: my birthday? Yeah? How much is all this on the
- 56:46Speaker 2: drip check? Like almost saying nice? She then he proceeds
- 56:54Speaker 2: to drink his water.
- 56:59Speaker 6: Makes you gotta come back. We can pull up in
- 57:03Speaker 6: La or whatever.
- 57:04Speaker 2: I gotta go here in Miami. Now I'm in Miami.
- 57:06Speaker 4: Miami.
- 57:07Speaker 6: Okay, how's Miami.
- 57:08Speaker 2: It's beautiful. I got my own studio. I work out. Yes,
- 57:13Speaker 2: y'all gotta come now, y'all can set up do that
- 57:15Speaker 2: like y'all should do it remote and just I'll get
- 57:18Speaker 2: y'all a stud for a couple of days and y'all
- 57:19Speaker 2: just set up and do Y'allime, Hey, Robin, we on
- 57:23Speaker 2: the way. That good. We don't need to tell Rob
- 57:25Speaker 2: We're just gonna pull up. Y'all need to come to Miami.
- 57:27Speaker 2: I'm sure y'all with the vibe, Like, yes, sir.
- 57:30Speaker 6: The album coming top of the you make sound yep.
- 57:33Speaker 2: Shout out to Chris Shawn, Shout out to Free Rocky,
- 57:36Speaker 2: Shout out to all my people that's involved with the situation, Man,
- 57:39Speaker 2: Nick bucks Man, salute my brother man. It's just a
- 57:43Speaker 2: whole bunch of us, all the co producers, co writers,
- 57:46Speaker 2: everybody that's involved with the situation and the team. Like
- 57:49Speaker 2: I'm super proud of y'all and like I ain't gonna
- 57:51Speaker 2: lie like y'all Like eight records at radio right now
- 57:55Speaker 2: at forty let's just keep going.
- 57:59Speaker 7: You know, well, I think it's only right if you
- 58:01Speaker 7: get on the record, So you know you gotta wrap
- 58:03Speaker 7: you gotta.
- 58:03Speaker 2: Go do that as sure. All right, best, So when
- 58:06Speaker 2: we get to Miami and do the next part, you
- 58:08Speaker 2: know we're gonna wrap.
