Brennan takes Wyndham, Philadelphia Phillies edge The Jays, New York Mets rout Pittsburgh Pirates ... and more for August 10th · The Sports Reset Canada: Daily Sports Recap in 2 Minutes

Brennan takes Wyndham! This is The Sports Reset for Monday August 10th In golf, Michael Brennan won the Wyndham Championship at 22 under, three strokes clear of Beau Hossler, with Ben James another shot back. Brennan’s previous PGA Tour victory came at the 2025 Bank of Utah Championship, where he won by four in his first tour start as a professional. Sunday’s margin gives him a second PGA Tour title and sends him into the playoffs with momentum. In MLB, the Philadelphia Phillies edged The Jays 7 to 6. Toronto entered the game at 49 and 58 while averaging just 3.9 runs, so scoring six and still leaving Philadelphia empty-handed was another frustrating turn. The New York Mets supplied the day’s loudest offence, beating the Pittsburgh Pirates 11 to 1. Looking ahead in MLB, The Jays open a home series against the Boston Red Sox at Rogers Centre. Kazuma Okamoto leads Toronto with 23 home runs and 65 runs batted in, and his power will be central as the club tries to rebound from that one-run loss. The New York Mets visit the Atlanta Braves after putting up 11 runs Sunday, while the Phillies carry their narrow win into St. Louis against the Cardinals. Later, the Kansas City Royals visit the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Milwaukee Brewers meet the San Diego Padres, and the Houston Astros face the San Francisco Giants. In golf, the FedEx Cup playoffs begin Thursday with the FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind, where the chase tightens before next week’s BMW Championship.
