- 0:19Speaker 3: It's off the Bench, all right, Welcome back in number
- 0:58Speaker 3: three of o TV. Here live from the Raising Kines Studio.
- 1:03Speaker 3: We've got chef Michael Johnson in fifteen minutes, We've got
- 1:06Speaker 3: coach Jay Johnson in thirty minutes. Looking forward to this
- 1:11Speaker 3: conversations as we have them every single Thursday here on OTV.
- 1:23Speaker 3: I get nervous when you chicken peck. When I hear
- 1:27Speaker 3: your keyboard, I get.
- 1:28Speaker 4: A little I'm talking to the good folks in the
- 1:33Speaker 4: chat about this balley I have on a card.
- 1:36Speaker 3: Well what card is it? It's a do you mind sharing?
- 1:39Speaker 3: You know? It's almost like we're you know, played in
- 1:42Speaker 3: a couple of different states, a couple different areas in Louisiana.
- 1:45Speaker 3: That's true.
- 1:45Speaker 4: I'm looking for a twenty twelve Panini prism, first year prism,
- 1:51Speaker 4: green prism parallel of myself?
- 1:55Speaker 3: Is it numbered? I just green acting? I don't think
- 1:58Speaker 3: it is. I think it was like, yeah, twelve first year.
- 2:00Speaker 3: I didn't have ed cards in eight, nine, ten, eleven,
- 2:03Speaker 3: and I didn't have them in twelve. Miss Prism.
- 2:05Speaker 4: I'm not like super like honed in and educated like
- 2:10Speaker 4: on all like the different releases on the parallels. But
- 2:13Speaker 4: there was the first year, so there's limited parallels. But
- 2:16Speaker 4: you boy, there's rainbow hunting right now. I need the Green.
- 2:21Speaker 4: It's the only one you need, right Yep? I got
- 2:26Speaker 4: some how many of that? I got the ones that
- 2:27Speaker 4: are harder to find? How many of those are out there?
- 2:31Speaker 4: I mean it's not like super Short, I don't think,
- 2:35Speaker 4: because there's a green of other players like out there
- 2:38Speaker 4: for sale and they're not that pricey.
- 2:41Speaker 3: So that's what I need. Green Parallel Matt Flyman, twenty twelve. Green, Nope,
- 2:48Speaker 3: what's your prism? Prism?
- 2:51Speaker 4: So Panini losing the license after this year, so the
- 2:54Speaker 4: original year Prism is going very sought after.
- 2:57Speaker 3: Yeah, because that's all going to Tops, right everything, Yeah,
- 3:04Speaker 3: the license Tops is Panina gonna have anything? I mean
- 3:07Speaker 3: other sports, That's what I'm saying, Like what a sports football?
- 3:10Speaker 4: Like everybody is pretty much declaring the football part put
- 3:15Speaker 4: a tombstone on it.
- 3:16Speaker 3: They're like, oh, this is the last year of.
- 3:18Speaker 4: Prison, this is the last year of National Treasures, this
- 3:20Speaker 4: is last year of blah blah blah. That will still
- 3:23Speaker 4: probably have them, just not with a license, so they're
- 3:25Speaker 4: not going to be.
- 3:28Speaker 3: So they'll just have like a red helmet on instead
- 3:31Speaker 3: of a red helmet with a logo. Yeah, which is
- 3:36Speaker 3: just not good. Only just give both companies the license.
- 3:43Speaker 3: That's how licensing works. Well, I could your point. I mean,
- 3:46Speaker 3: you know you're you're right not seeing it, bud.
- 3:50Speaker 4: No, it's not there. You can find it on a
- 3:52Speaker 4: card ladder, like a sold one. I've reached out to
- 3:55Speaker 4: the people that sold it, got crickets.
- 3:58Speaker 3: There is like one like a singular, and I like,
- 4:03Speaker 3: duh because it's one of one. But like you know,
- 4:05Speaker 3: like Cooper Flag's got thirty one of one's just different cards.
- 4:09Speaker 3: There's one one of one of me on eBay and
- 4:14Speaker 3: I just continue to message the guy like hey, Like
- 4:17Speaker 3: at first I started like I didn't really like this card.
- 4:20Speaker 3: What would you be willing to do on it? Because
- 4:22Speaker 3: he's got a way over price for who it is. Yeah,
- 4:24Speaker 3: Like what do you know? There is nobody in the world, literally,
- 4:27Speaker 3: not one person in the world, not one, not even
- 4:31Speaker 3: my mother. What's been that amount of money on this card?
- 4:35Speaker 3: So I'm like, hey, like, realistically, what can like, what
- 4:38Speaker 3: do you want to do here? I was like, what's
- 4:39Speaker 3: your PC. I'll trade you some cards and give you
- 4:41Speaker 3: some money. Nothing. Check your messages, Bud, it's been six
- 4:45Speaker 3: months since you five messages. Nobody the cards still there.
- 4:50Speaker 3: He's a big fan. He doesn't want to sell. No,
- 4:52Speaker 3: he's not like in Wisconsin or something. Yeah, he doesn't care.
- 4:56Speaker 3: Check your messages, Bud. Yeah, just say hey, no thanks, Yeah,
- 5:00Speaker 3: I'm good.
- 5:01Speaker 4: Problem is, it's like they've probably been sitting on these
- 5:03Speaker 4: for a long time. They probably paid like three bucks
- 5:05Speaker 4: for them ten years ago. So they're like they don't
- 5:08Speaker 4: have anything invested in it. So it's not like they're
- 5:10Speaker 4: trying to get it flipped. They're just waiting on, actually
- 5:13Speaker 4: you to come to your senses. Maybe have to make
- 5:16Speaker 4: cole pops. One night, I'm pull the trigger.
- 5:18Speaker 3: It's it's a principal deal at this point, not doing it.
- 5:24Speaker 3: I got a lot of numbered and I've saved them
- 5:27Speaker 3: for our you know, for the boys and for Harlof
- 5:30Speaker 3: they ever want them, probably probably not. I got them,
- 5:34Speaker 3: got a lot of the fifties a lot of the fives,
- 5:36Speaker 3: a lot of the tens. Yep, there's one one of
- 5:39Speaker 3: one out there. This guy will not message me back. Yep.
- 5:44Speaker 4: When I first got into it, I was like, oh, yeah,
- 5:46Speaker 4: I'm buying like everything and numbered I can find.
- 5:48Speaker 3: Yeah, buy it. You told me that, and I did
- 5:50Speaker 3: it too.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Ye.
- 5:51Speaker 4: At the point, at some point I was like, all right,
- 5:53Speaker 4: I got a lot now I just want I'm gonna
- 5:55Speaker 4: hone in on two sets. It tried to complete the rainbow,
- 5:59Speaker 4: which is getting every parallel of that one set. One
- 6:03Speaker 4: of them is twenty twelve prison yep, because this original year.
- 6:06Speaker 4: And one of them's two thousand and eight tops chrome.
- 6:10Speaker 3: Yeah, rookie, that's that's one of the sweetest cards. They're great,
- 6:15Speaker 3: eight tops chrome, impeccable. Yeah, they're fantastic. I've got a
- 6:20Speaker 3: bunch of the black ones of that. Yeah. Yeah. They're
- 6:23Speaker 3: a lot of fun.
- 6:24Speaker 4: And you gave me a greater one. I gave you
- 6:26Speaker 4: a red to red to twenty five, yeah, graded. So
- 6:30Speaker 4: it was a little gift for you. It's your birthday
- 6:32Speaker 4: because nine though, jump. So let us know if you're
- 6:40Speaker 4: going out to the card show this.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Week, if you find those any one of those parallels
- 6:45Speaker 3: if you see another one of one, or if you
- 6:47Speaker 3: see the green parallel there. I've reached out to.
- 6:50Speaker 4: Card shops, like in California on the East coast, say hey,
- 6:53Speaker 4: like people that have sold these cards in the past,
- 6:56Speaker 4: I hate like, can you get that information if you
- 6:58Speaker 4: bought it I those six years ago.
- 7:00Speaker 3: Yeah, we need to find out how many are actually
- 7:02Speaker 3: out there.
- 7:02Speaker 4: Though it's not like I know you can look up
- 7:05Speaker 4: green Parallel from twenty twelve and like that tons of
- 7:07Speaker 4: them pop ulpar like from other players, just not to me.
- 7:11Speaker 3: Have you put it out there on the socials? No,
- 7:14Speaker 3: I don't know. If I got a lot of card
- 7:15Speaker 3: folks that follow me, you don't know.
- 7:18Speaker 5: I guess I've been assuming you'd be Packers twenty twelve.
- 7:22Speaker 5: Actually that's a I couldn't remember what year was that?
- 7:25Speaker 3: Your first year in Seattle? Yeah? Only year?
- 7:27Speaker 4: Yeah, well, and like that part is not valuable to me.
- 7:30Speaker 4: It's just the fact that the the brand it was
- 7:35Speaker 4: the first year of like this like one of the
- 7:37Speaker 4: top brands in sports card collecting a football at least
- 7:40Speaker 4: since what people say kind of changed the game a
- 7:42Speaker 4: little bit. In any prison, anyway, I'm sure people are
- 7:48Speaker 4: really tired of hearing it's talk about sports.
- 7:50Speaker 3: I don't know, I think, I mean, you're not the
- 7:52Speaker 3: only people to do it. I mean we're not the
- 7:54Speaker 3: only Our guy, uh, Cole Cubleck Uh, who's sec Network
- 7:59Speaker 3: Jock Morning Show number one, We're coming for you. He
- 8:03Speaker 3: breaks like legit every day he sends them to me. He'say, hey,
- 8:07Speaker 3: you will Purdue for fifty five dollars. I know he
- 8:10Speaker 3: said there and breaks like come on, guys, come on chat.
- 8:12Speaker 3: I mean he is a breaker. So we're not alone
- 8:14Speaker 3: in this. We're not. Actually have people around town like that.
- 8:17Speaker 4: I see they're like, dude, like my whole feed is
- 8:20Speaker 4: filled with card like everybody is the last.
- 8:23Speaker 3: Like twelve to twenty four months has been a wild
- 8:27Speaker 3: ride for the card Oh yeah, our friend overt pro Dreams,
- 8:31Speaker 3: Trey Ye half their shop now they got cards in there.
- 8:36Speaker 3: Had somebody come in, like a legit, legit source come
- 8:39Speaker 3: in and now they got cards. So if you're not
- 8:42Speaker 3: in the card game, you're the weirdo, not us. Yeah,
- 8:44Speaker 3: you know what I'm saying. Herds not in cards doork's.
- 8:52Speaker 6: But seriously, if you could have a a one of
- 8:57Speaker 6: one of a current player the National Football League current player.
- 9:04Speaker 3: Well, you're a rookie one one. Uh no, let's go
- 9:07Speaker 3: veteran one of one for sentimental value. Sentimental value, you
- 9:12Speaker 3: know what I'm saying, Like you're like, this isn't worth
- 9:15Speaker 3: as much as some others. I'm going Kyle used check
- 9:21Speaker 3: no doubt. Guy literally by himself kept fullbacks alive long
- 9:28Speaker 3: enough for it to become a deal again. And now
- 9:31Speaker 3: it's a deal again. Okay.
- 9:34Speaker 4: Sentimental I don't know y'all have I don't know if
- 9:42Speaker 4: I have. I think the current sentimental one. I don't
- 9:45Speaker 4: think I have one.
- 9:45Speaker 7: No, I don't know about sentimental. But like I'm thinking,
- 9:48Speaker 7: but if I'm thinking of like what's going to have
- 9:51Speaker 7: like a high value later, maybe this is dumb, But
- 9:56Speaker 7: like Miles Garrett, it's not dumb.
- 10:00Speaker 3: Now, say, in the card game, quarterbacks are king. Offensive
- 10:04Speaker 3: players are king the most part. So it's like quarterbacks.
- 10:07Speaker 7: And then I'm thinking the sack record thing.
- 10:09Speaker 3: Yeah he's bad, I guess good rookie rookie rookie card
- 10:14Speaker 3: for current. Oh current, I know it seems like he's
- 10:17Speaker 3: always current. That's why I said current, because like you
- 10:21Speaker 3: could give like, oh, give me a Mickey Mantle that'd
- 10:23Speaker 3: be cool, be fun.
- 10:26Speaker 5: It's got to be worth something, right, Hunter Renfro, Renfro,
- 10:29Speaker 5: you think so Tyler shuck Renfro will be current when.
- 10:33Speaker 3: The same is big.
- 10:34Speaker 4: I am a proud owner of a lot of Rattler
- 10:36Speaker 4: cards and now shut cards as well. Got on the
- 10:40Speaker 4: Rattler game when demoted. Yeah, oh yeah, you jumped on
- 10:45Speaker 4: like you you bought low.
- 10:46Speaker 3: I bought low.
- 10:47Speaker 7: Yeah, okay, it makes sense if I had to pick
- 10:49Speaker 7: like one card, like I have one, but I'm not
- 10:53Speaker 7: into the card thing. But if I had to pick
- 10:55Speaker 7: one that I would value and probably never sell for
- 10:59Speaker 7: my entire life, is like a Nolan Ryan Carr, Yeah
- 11:02Speaker 7: I would.
- 11:03Speaker 4: I don't think I'd ever get rid of any of
- 11:04Speaker 4: any of the nineties like Dallas teams, I really like.
- 11:09Speaker 4: I am looking. I can't decide. I'm trying to get
- 11:13Speaker 4: a again, were cards of the three so in my
- 11:17Speaker 4: career as a starter in the NFL, I think I
- 11:19Speaker 4: was three and three or something like that. I'm trying
- 11:23Speaker 4: to decide. I want to get good cards of the
- 11:27Speaker 4: three quarterbacks I beat and.
- 11:32Speaker 3: Because I got ultimate respect for all of them. Yeah,
- 11:34Speaker 3: but like you got three.
- 11:35Speaker 4: I'm trying to decide if I'm going to get a
- 11:37Speaker 4: card from the year that we beat them, or like try.
- 11:41Speaker 3: To find like a rookie card of theirs or something.
- 11:44Speaker 7: The year would be cool.
- 11:45Speaker 4: So that'd be let's say Stafford, Matt Ryan, Tony Romo.
- 11:52Speaker 4: That'd be a fun, fun one to have. Do you
- 11:56Speaker 4: have any three? You have a Stafford? I got a Stafford,
- 11:59Speaker 4: but not I. I got a Stafford from the Rams.
- 12:02Speaker 4: Oh not the Lions.
- 12:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:03Speaker 4: I was looking for Stafford rookie stuff about like in November,
- 12:06Speaker 4: because I knew he was gonna win the MVP. But
- 12:09Speaker 4: I just didn't pull a trigger. I was like, Oh,
- 12:12Speaker 4: people selling they're kind of on the same page as me,
- 12:14Speaker 4: so I don't know if I'm actually getting a good deal.
- 12:18Speaker 3: All right, Yeah, it's us nerding out about cars, but
- 12:20Speaker 3: a lot of people do. Now it's in vogue. No
- 12:22Speaker 3: big deal. And there is a card show in Gonzalez
- 12:25Speaker 3: this weekend. I'm gonna be there Saturday three to five.
- 12:28Speaker 3: It is free, free autographs. Me and k Faulk. Then
- 12:31Speaker 3: Clyde Edwards, Laiir and Harlan Barr are gonna be there
- 12:33Speaker 3: as well. Not a big deal. Flinn's gonna come he'll
- 12:37Speaker 3: be there. I don't care what he says. Sorry, Huck,
- 12:40Speaker 3: I can't make your game today. Son, got a card
- 12:42Speaker 3: show to go to, Jeff Michael Johnson. Your munchy questions

- 15:04Speaker 3: All right, Welcome back in OTV nine point fifteen on
- 15:08Speaker 3: Thursday morning. Let's go ahead and get to some monkey questions.
- 15:11Speaker 3: A chef might go.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Get ready to tantalize your taste buds and leave this
- 15:15Speaker 1: segment hungry. This is Monkey's with executive chef Michael Johnson, Jeff?
- 15:22Speaker 3: What's going on? Brother? How we doing? How we living?
- 15:24Speaker 9: Madam? Great? How are you all?
- 15:26Speaker 3: Blessing Holly's favored? Appreciate you asking? All right? Got a
- 15:33Speaker 3: little mounchy question coming in. I have some leftover rotisserie chicken.
- 15:38Speaker 3: Should I use it to make chicken salad? Or you
- 15:40Speaker 3: got something else for me?
- 15:42Speaker 9: I don't know, you know, like leftover leftover rotistrie chicken.
- 15:45Speaker 9: I like to flother a lot of mayonnaise and on
- 15:49Speaker 9: some bread and then eat it, make a sandwich out
- 15:51Speaker 9: of it.
- 15:52Speaker 3: You know, isn't it Chef? It's you that likes cold
- 15:55Speaker 3: chicken too, right?
- 15:56Speaker 9: Oh yeah, okay, yeah, and you know, like a piece
- 16:00Speaker 9: of French you know, like a French loaf or a
- 16:02Speaker 9: back end or something. Look, oh man, probably we'll put
- 16:06Speaker 9: some sauteed mushrooms on there or something that, you know,
- 16:08Speaker 9: like to give a little bit of character. But yeah,
- 16:12Speaker 9: I like rotistri And honestly, you know, like you can
- 16:14Speaker 9: pull rotistrie chicken and make pull chicken out of it.
- 16:17Speaker 9: You can chop it up and put it into a
- 16:19Speaker 9: lazy man's gumboo if you want to instead of you know,
- 16:22Speaker 9: cooking it from scratch, and there's lots of stuff you
- 16:25Speaker 9: can do with rotissrie chicken. You just don't want to
- 16:27Speaker 9: do it, you know, like if you picked it up
- 16:30Speaker 9: on Monday, you know, today's the last day you want
- 16:33Speaker 9: to use it. You don't want to put fourt a
- 16:35Speaker 9: old chicken into a gumbo that you're going to store
- 16:37Speaker 9: for another four days, you know what I mean. You
- 16:38Speaker 9: want to consume it immediately.
- 16:40Speaker 3: We're in the.
- 16:41Speaker 4: Flynt family, we are taking our rotisserie left or too.
- 16:44Speaker 4: So you're making chicken case of dias for the kids.
- 16:46Speaker 4: Oh yeah, so that's highly recommended right there. But yeah,
- 16:49Speaker 4: just cheese chicken. Don't church it up too much.
- 16:51Speaker 3: Cheese and chicken.
- 16:52Speaker 4: Yeah, hashtag munchies. We talked about this yesterday. I believe Jeff,
- 16:57Speaker 4: what's the most overrated cut of steak?
- 17:01Speaker 9: Oh man?
- 17:01Speaker 7: You know?
- 17:02Speaker 9: For me, I think it's the fil a, you know,
- 17:04Speaker 9: like it's nice and tender and everything. But I don't
- 17:07Speaker 9: necessarily like that. I I like kind of a firmer
- 17:10Speaker 9: texture of meat, and I like some marbling in there too.
- 17:12Speaker 7: You know.
- 17:12Speaker 9: The tender loin is I think expensive because there's not
- 17:16Speaker 9: much of it, right it's it's the flying demand and
- 17:20Speaker 9: while it's hasty and tender, you know it doesn't have
- 17:22Speaker 9: the marbling that if you look for flavor that I,
- 17:25Speaker 9: you know, look for and say a strip loine and
- 17:27Speaker 9: and I actually prefer a little bit of fat on mistakes.
- 17:30Speaker 9: So you know, it's it's just an opinion. There's gonna
- 17:35Speaker 9: be people that don't agree with me. But you know,
- 17:37Speaker 9: I like I like the marbling of a stripline. I
- 17:40Speaker 9: think if you know you there's a there's an argument
- 17:43Speaker 9: to be made. It's the ribbi. I think it almost
- 17:48Speaker 9: goes a little too far sometimes with the starfat. It's
- 17:51Speaker 9: in the center of the of the eye. So I
- 17:55Speaker 9: don't know, you pay a premium price for both of
- 17:57Speaker 9: those cuts, where I think a strip woint is more
- 17:58Speaker 9: affordable and it has as kind of the the best
- 18:02Speaker 9: of both worlds of the two.
- 18:05Speaker 3: Hashtag MUNCHIESE trying to work out and get in shape.
- 18:09Speaker 3: What's a solid meal planned dish I can make on
- 18:11Speaker 3: a Sunday and eat on for a few days. Also,
- 18:15Speaker 3: boiled crawfished potato salad was incredible. Thank you now, chef.
- 18:19Speaker 3: I do know that, like for you, meal prep is
- 18:22Speaker 3: something that you you worry about a little bit because
- 18:25Speaker 3: you do lose some of those nutrients if you make
- 18:28Speaker 3: it and you wait too long to eat it.
- 18:29Speaker 9: That's right, but you know, if you're cooking during the
- 18:33Speaker 9: week specifically, so if you're trying to have it, if
- 18:36Speaker 9: you're cooking it on Sunday, then you want it for
- 18:38Speaker 9: the week. You know, like whatever you're making on Sunday,
- 18:40Speaker 9: just make a little bit more of it, you know.
- 18:43Speaker 9: The thing about it is is that if you're looking
- 18:45Speaker 9: to cut lights, it's calorie and calorie out, and there's
- 18:48Speaker 9: other dynamics there, you know, like honestly, you got to
- 18:50Speaker 9: talk to your doctor about it, make sure that you're
- 18:52Speaker 9: doing it healthily healthy, but as a general rule of thumb,
- 18:57Speaker 9: you need to be tracking your calories right. And it's
- 18:59Speaker 9: it really is, you know, like I'm cutting my carbs first,
- 19:03Speaker 9: I'm keeping enough carbs in my diet to give me
- 19:06Speaker 9: energy so that I can exercise. Exercise is super important
- 19:09Speaker 9: when you're trying to lose weight, because you're increasing your
- 19:12Speaker 9: calorie burn, not just reducing to your calorie intake. Both
- 19:16Speaker 9: those things have necessity, and so I'm really careful about
- 19:21Speaker 9: not having any carbs in my diet because you know,
- 19:24Speaker 9: like it's it's to me a necessary thing. But I
- 19:27Speaker 9: do think that you know, measuring, you know that you
- 19:29Speaker 9: have four ounces of carbs, depending on what the carb
- 19:32Speaker 9: is obviously, but you know four ounces of carbs, you know,
- 19:36Speaker 9: six to eight ounces of protein, and then lots of
- 19:38Speaker 9: fruits and vegetables. Fruits and vegetables fill you up faster
- 19:42Speaker 9: so you feel full, but you're actually in taking less
- 19:46Speaker 9: less caloric intake. And so a lot of people don't
- 19:50Speaker 9: like to hear that, you know, like I want the
- 19:52Speaker 9: meat and potatoes that I don't want. I don't want
- 19:53Speaker 9: the fruits and vegetables and fruit and vegetables or how
- 19:55Speaker 9: we get full and add fiber to our diet that
- 19:59Speaker 9: helps balance blood sugar and stuff like that. And also,
- 20:02Speaker 9: you know, you got to watch the fats. The that's
- 20:05Speaker 9: the you know, the cooking techniques that you're using. When
- 20:09Speaker 9: you submerge something in oil and deep fat fry it,
- 20:12Speaker 9: it's going to exchange moisture for oil. And so what
- 20:16Speaker 9: tastes good about about deep fried foods is that it
- 20:19Speaker 9: has fat and the tissues in it. You know, you're
- 20:21Speaker 9: submerging it in oil and exchanging you know, there's a
- 20:24Speaker 9: there's a liquid exchange there. So you know, deep fat
- 20:27Speaker 9: frying is not super healthy. You can you can oven
- 20:29Speaker 9: fry and uh, if you have an air fryer, you
- 20:32Speaker 9: can code with oil and air fry get the same texture.
- 20:35Speaker 9: But you really have to watch your fat anything because
- 20:38Speaker 9: if you're not burning the fat through through caloric burn, uh,
- 20:42Speaker 9: you're going to store the fat, you know, And so
- 20:46Speaker 9: that's that's an important piece of it. And and what
- 20:48Speaker 9: fats as well. You know, olive oils are good. There's
- 20:51Speaker 9: lots of different conversations about steed oils and you know,
- 20:54Speaker 9: all kinds of all kinds of different oils, but my
- 20:57Speaker 9: go to is olive oil. It's proven and we know
- 20:59Speaker 9: what it is. Version good for you. Then it helps
- 21:02Speaker 9: manage your LDLs, which is your low density lipoproteins obviously.
- 21:08Speaker 4: Yeah, chef, I mean you bring up a lot of
- 21:11Speaker 4: good points there, but like weight loss and trying to
- 21:13Speaker 4: get in shape, like it's different for you know, certainly
- 21:17Speaker 4: things work for one person that might not work for other.
- 21:19Speaker 4: You just got to kind of find what works for you.
- 21:21Speaker 4: And a good rule of thumb is just kind of
- 21:23Speaker 4: like you said, if you look through the day and
- 21:26Speaker 4: you didn't burn more calories than you took in, then
- 21:28Speaker 4: you're probably not going to lose weight.
- 21:30Speaker 9: I think you have to be smart about it too,
- 21:32Speaker 9: right brother, Like you know, having a two hundred calorie
- 21:35Speaker 9: deficit by day means that you could probably lose one
- 21:39Speaker 9: to two pounds per week. And you know, like trying
- 21:41Speaker 9: to drop ten pounds in a week is really harsh
- 21:44Speaker 9: on the human body. You have to be realistic about
- 21:46Speaker 9: the burn, you know, and set a realistic goal versus
- 21:51Speaker 9: an over aggressive goal that your body is going to
- 21:53Speaker 9: respond negatively too.
- 21:55Speaker 4: Yep, okay, chef ashtag munchies here, we're getting close to
- 21:59Speaker 4: I think wild turkey season. What's your best advice for
- 22:02Speaker 4: a good wild turkey breast?
- 22:05Speaker 9: You know, Brian, it's wild turkeys are they They move
- 22:09Speaker 9: around even more than you know farm turkeys do, and
- 22:12Speaker 9: so that they're they're leaner. And while I enjoy this,
- 22:15Speaker 9: I absolutely love wild turkey. You know, my my always
- 22:20Speaker 9: go to is you know, and whether truth be known,
- 22:23Speaker 9: if it's wild or not, I'm gonna brine it just
- 22:25Speaker 9: because it helps. It helps pull the salt into the meat,
- 22:27Speaker 9: It helps retain moisture during the cook and it helps
- 22:30Speaker 9: prevent drying out while you're cooking, and so why not, right, Like,
- 22:33Speaker 9: it's just a it's just a preparation that's gonna ensure
- 22:38Speaker 9: that you have a better product and the end result. So,
- 22:40Speaker 9: however you cook your turkey, make sure you brian it
- 22:43Speaker 9: ahead of time.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Hashtag munchies attempting to make authentic auropas. Hope I got
- 22:50Speaker 3: that right. For a Columbian friend of mine tomorrow night,
- 22:53Speaker 3: what do you suggest and what would you suggest putting
- 22:56Speaker 3: on the inside?
- 22:57Speaker 9: Yeah, rapists. I've never actually made a rapist from from
- 23:00Speaker 9: scratching myself. I work with a lady that that does.
- 23:04Speaker 9: But I'm afraid I don't have too much insight there.
- 23:08Speaker 9: It's great. It's a it's a traditional dish. It's like
- 23:14Speaker 9: a somewhere in between a tortilla and a and a
- 23:19Speaker 9: oh geez, like a it's a lot or something like that.
- 23:23Speaker 9: You know, it's it's a dish. It's a traditional, just dish.
- 23:29Speaker 3: I always get hungry right about this time. That's why
- 23:31Speaker 3: we moved it back. We do. We used to do this,
- 23:33Speaker 3: yeah seven thirty.
- 23:35Speaker 4: Right, and it was it was too much because chef
- 23:37Speaker 4: we don't like there's not a lot of time in
- 23:39Speaker 4: the morning to get a breakfast before this. I'm always
- 23:41Speaker 4: got like pretty hungry in general, but like right now
- 23:44Speaker 4: it's like even more so. So so okay, so I
- 23:48Speaker 4: got a question. So we were talking, so I was
- 23:51Speaker 4: the kids were kind of in the grilled cheese world
- 23:53Speaker 4: right now, and I want to, like, what's your best
- 23:55Speaker 4: advice on a maybe not like a kid doesn't have
- 23:57Speaker 4: to be a kid friendly grilled cheese, but like, if
- 23:59Speaker 4: you're making the perfect grilled cheese sandwich, how you doing it?
- 24:04Speaker 9: Starting off with brioche, like a thick cut Texas toast
- 24:08Speaker 9: brioche because it tolerates a lot of heat. And I'm
- 24:11Speaker 9: going to butter both sides of the bread, Like if
- 24:14Speaker 9: we're going to do a grilled cheese up, you know,
- 24:17Speaker 9: like a grown making grilled cheese, it's gonna have a
- 24:20Speaker 9: thick piece of bread. And I like to take and
- 24:23Speaker 9: make not just butter, but take and make like a
- 24:26Speaker 9: mad or d butter where you put chopped parsley and
- 24:29Speaker 9: garlic in it and whip it up so that it's
- 24:32Speaker 9: nice and lightened, spread easy. So you know you're gonna
- 24:35Speaker 9: have these chunks of parsley and stuff on the bread
- 24:37Speaker 9: as you toast as well, and you got to toast,
- 24:40Speaker 9: you know, the first side goes down. You don't put
- 24:42Speaker 9: the cheese on the bread yet, you know, you heat
- 24:45Speaker 9: that bottom side up and then flip it and immediately
- 24:47Speaker 9: put your cheese on the bread. And it's gotta be
- 24:50Speaker 9: you know, like greasy cheddar cheese is not going on
- 24:54Speaker 9: my you know, like it's gonna be grew yere or
- 24:57Speaker 9: something nice and soft. And they actually have this cheese
- 25:00Speaker 9: called raclet that you eat over fire and you scrape
- 25:05Speaker 9: it onto your grilled cheese. And if you've never had
- 25:08Speaker 9: a grilled cheese made that way, your life is missing something.
- 25:12Speaker 9: And reclet is it's got a little bit of bite
- 25:15Speaker 9: to it's a little funky. But if if not, you know,
- 25:19Speaker 9: like smoked dudahs.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Great, I just how do you spell reclet?
- 25:24Speaker 9: Are a c l e pte Reclet? I think it's
- 25:28Speaker 9: actually a Swiss type of cheese, but it's it's not
- 25:31Speaker 9: it's not like your typical Swiss, but it's a European
- 25:35Speaker 9: for sure, but it's it's.
- 25:36Speaker 3: Wonderful, so it has opinions unlike the other Swiss. Most definitely, okay, Jesus,
- 25:44Speaker 3: that I got you, chef, Michael Johnson always good enough
- 25:47Speaker 3: to join us here to answer your monkey questions. Chef.

- 27:46Speaker 3: We always appreciate it. I hope you're doing well, doing great,
- 27:49Speaker 3: how doing fantastic? Always excited for the conversation. Just like
- 27:54Speaker 3: something we talked about last week. Then I'm sure you're
- 27:56Speaker 3: excited about We're excited about that you can look up
- 27:58Speaker 3: and see number one back in the lineup and see
- 28:01Speaker 3: him out there in the field as well. And coach
- 28:04Speaker 3: we were talking about Chris Stanfield of course number one
- 28:06Speaker 3: on your team. Uh, just what he gives you in
- 28:10Speaker 3: so many different phases of the game and in the box,
- 28:13Speaker 3: on the base, pass, in the field, and somebody has
- 28:16Speaker 3: been through the fire before, right, I mean he's a
- 28:18Speaker 3: senior player. He has been in a lot of different situations.
- 28:22Speaker 3: Now that he is like fully back in the lineup, Like,
- 28:25Speaker 3: what does that guy mean to the success moving forward?
- 28:29Speaker 2: Well, it means a lot. If you look at this
- 28:32Speaker 2: the contribution of last year, I feel like it really
- 28:34Speaker 2: flew under the radar. You know, maybe for you know,
- 28:37Speaker 2: a couple of reasons. Is on the best team in
- 28:39Speaker 2: the country. But he was our leading hitter, you know
- 28:42Speaker 2: in SEC play, which is the best pitching that you see.
- 28:46Speaker 2: He led the SEC all sixteen teams in doubles. So
- 28:50Speaker 2: I think this is pure hitting. Offensive contribution is undervalued.
- 28:54Speaker 2: And you just said it like, you know, the threat
- 28:57Speaker 2: on the basis and it's not even just like a
- 28:59Speaker 2: stole base thing, but you know, ball in the gap,
- 29:03Speaker 2: he's on first to run. You know, a ball goes
- 29:05Speaker 2: in the dirt, he's advancing to second base or a
- 29:07Speaker 2: third base. Then the ball goes up in the outfield,
- 29:10Speaker 2: it's it's an out and so that's a lot of
- 29:12Speaker 2: ways to impact the game. Maybe from a football standpoint,
- 29:15Speaker 2: it's it's kind of like that, you know, guy can
- 29:18Speaker 2: catch the ball out of the backfield, return punts and kickoffs,
- 29:22Speaker 2: you know, and can you know run protect the quarterback? Yes,
- 29:27Speaker 2: exactly the probably most important thing right there.
- 29:31Speaker 3: Overt Matt Alway. Coach Matt always hating on the running back.
- 29:36Speaker 3: The quarterbacks, always just wonder how they stay clean back there.
- 29:41Speaker 2: That's right. You know, It's like I was watching this
- 29:44Speaker 2: clip of the movie The Draft Day the other day
- 29:46Speaker 2: when the coach is like once a runner and the
- 29:49Speaker 2: GM wants a blocker. So I guess you know you
- 29:52Speaker 2: can do it all like you could. You're probably in
- 29:54Speaker 2: a good spot, that's sure.
- 29:56Speaker 3: That's right.
- 29:57Speaker 4: I love it, coach. Uh, just looking back a little bit.
- 30:01Speaker 4: Drop two this the past weekend versus Vanderbilt. But you
- 30:03Speaker 4: come out Tuesday and I had a really good pitchers
- 30:07Speaker 4: thrown well win the game be graand with seven to one.
- 30:09Speaker 4: But I found a fascinating kind of the the remarks
- 30:13Speaker 4: you made about about this as being a must win
- 30:15Speaker 4: game on a Tuesday. I just kind of wanted to
- 30:17Speaker 4: follow up on that and what kind of you meant
- 30:19Speaker 4: about and what I know, we want to win every
- 30:21Speaker 4: single game obviously, but for a Tuesday game.
- 30:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I live in a different world than everybody else
- 30:28Speaker 2: with college baseball, and you know, the RPI is a
- 30:31Speaker 2: real thing, and you know, like you usually get protected
- 30:36Speaker 2: and we have a ton of protection coming up because
- 30:39Speaker 2: everybody we play for like the next six weeks is
- 30:41Speaker 2: like eighteen and three or better, and so you're your
- 30:45Speaker 2: opponent's winning percentage is the most important calculation in the RPI,
- 30:50Speaker 2: and ours will probably get taken care of. But you know,
- 30:54Speaker 2: we got some ground to make up as it is
- 30:56Speaker 2: right now. And if you lose to another team this
- 31:00Speaker 2: five and twelve home losses hurt you worse. Like we're
- 31:04Speaker 2: just you know, I don't want to dig a hole
- 31:07Speaker 2: then if we can't get out of no matter how
- 31:08Speaker 2: well we play, an SEC play and it's one of
- 31:11Speaker 2: those games that if you lose, you're going to drop
- 31:15Speaker 2: like another thirty or thirty five spots. And I mean,
- 31:19Speaker 2: it's it's difficult because you don't you can't tell the
- 31:22Speaker 2: players that really, And finally, in the middle of the game,
- 31:24Speaker 2: I was like, guys, can't can't lose this game, Like
- 31:27Speaker 2: we've got to offense, got to kick it in the gear.
- 31:29Speaker 2: And that's the opposite of way I think and the
- 31:31Speaker 2: way I coach. But it's like there's a reality component
- 31:34Speaker 2: to that, and not on anybody else's radar, you know,
- 31:38Speaker 2: maybe even my assistant coaches, players, fans, but definitely online.
- 31:42Speaker 2: And the other part of this is like, you know,
- 31:46Speaker 2: we want to play well in the game, and I
- 31:48Speaker 2: thought we certainly pitched well, which was great to see,
- 31:53Speaker 2: you know, like getting some of our supposedly better guys
- 31:56Speaker 2: back out there, because I feel like one way to
- 31:58Speaker 2: get him throwing the ball zone is to get them
- 32:01Speaker 2: to pitch more. And so I think there was a
- 32:03Speaker 2: lot of positives in that game. I mean, they didn't
- 32:06Speaker 2: make it easy. They decided a roll three o their
- 32:07Speaker 2: weekend starters out during the game, which was you know,
- 32:11Speaker 2: kept it a little closer maybe than I guess it
- 32:13Speaker 2: should have been. But happy we won and that taken
- 32:17Speaker 2: that loss doesn't mean every Tuesday is like that, but
- 32:20Speaker 2: that Tuesday would have caused another big hole that, regardless
- 32:24Speaker 2: of sec play, might have been harder to dig out of.
- 32:28Speaker 3: Coach, if we do go back to the weekend, we
- 32:30Speaker 3: go to Sunday's game, Like that's one of those games
- 32:33Speaker 3: where I felt like guys pitched really well. Like I
- 32:35Speaker 3: know the runs that were on the board for Vanderbilt,
- 32:38Speaker 3: but like I think the weather conditions obviously if they
- 32:40Speaker 3: got it up in the air, that thing was just traveling.
- 32:42Speaker 3: But I do feel like, and correct me if I'm wrong,
- 32:45Speaker 3: but it feels like Garcia and Sheer and they came
- 32:47Speaker 3: in and more than just watching the stat line, like
- 32:50Speaker 3: they kind of closed that game down, gave the offense
- 32:52Speaker 3: time to not only play catch up, but to pull
- 32:55Speaker 3: ahead and stay ahead. Like it felt like even though
- 32:58Speaker 3: maybe the numbers don't say it, like there was some
- 33:00Speaker 3: good on the mount on Sunday as well.
- 33:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought Williams threw really well, you know, his
- 33:06Speaker 2: little back thing like tighten up, but he could have
- 33:09Speaker 2: kept going. But it's like I think I said, this
- 33:11Speaker 2: epic game, like that guy being healthy for the next
- 33:15Speaker 2: next eighteen months is probably the key to my life.
- 33:17Speaker 2: So it just like we had a fot before runs.
- 33:21Speaker 2: It's like, you know, Coach Davin would have lost his
- 33:24Speaker 2: mind if either of you guys would have got hurt.
- 33:26Speaker 2: You know. It's kind of one of those things like
- 33:28Speaker 2: I I just I made it, and we we had
- 33:31Speaker 2: a little bit of wiggle room, and really what was
- 33:33Speaker 2: in a really important game to win too, and I'm
- 33:35Speaker 2: just like, nah, like we're not doing this, so he
- 33:38Speaker 2: could have kept going. I thought he pitched out standing
- 33:40Speaker 2: in the game. And then you know, we ran into
- 33:46Speaker 2: you know, an inning with Rizzy that was kind of interesting,
- 33:50Speaker 2: and you're right, I mean there was, and we benefited
- 33:52Speaker 2: from this too. In the first inning, the conditions were
- 33:54Speaker 2: very offensive. One of their guys just had a routine
- 33:58Speaker 2: pop up that just kind of kept carrying it off
- 34:00Speaker 2: the top of the big wall for a double and
- 34:02Speaker 2: a couple of runs.
- 34:04Speaker 9: So that was part of it.
- 34:06Speaker 2: You know, Garcia similar kind of thing, ran into some
- 34:09Speaker 2: bad luck. I thought Sharon did a great job. We
- 34:11Speaker 2: made two errors in the infield. Otherwise I don't think
- 34:15Speaker 2: he would have given up any runs, and so because
- 34:17Speaker 2: the homer came right after two errors, so he did
- 34:21Speaker 2: a great job. And then I was really proud of
- 34:23Speaker 2: Cooper Williams coming back and finishing the game clean and
- 34:27Speaker 2: had another good inning on Tuesday. He's a guy that
- 34:30Speaker 2: you know, is really capable of pitching well often and
- 34:33Speaker 2: so that was good to see, so you're you're You're
- 34:35Speaker 2: probably right the series as a whole, Like, I think
- 34:38Speaker 2: we left a lot to be desired on the mound,
- 34:41Speaker 2: but we're we're working on it hard, and we have
- 34:43Speaker 2: good pictures like this. The pitching talent in our program
- 34:46Speaker 2: is not an issue right now. We got to get
- 34:47Speaker 2: them better and you know, and have them execute to
- 34:52Speaker 2: take some pressure off of the of the offense and
- 34:54Speaker 2: tell some guys, you know, find their way at this level.
- 34:59Speaker 4: I'll follow up on that that last point you were making,
- 35:01Speaker 4: and we know that the talent level there certainly on
- 35:03Speaker 4: the mound.
- 35:04Speaker 3: Is there?
- 35:05Speaker 4: Is it just and you look back at the Friday
- 35:07Speaker 4: game with Case and that it is probably not the
- 35:08Speaker 4: best out and that he would have liked to have.
- 35:10Speaker 3: Is it? Is it?
- 35:11Speaker 4: Is it guys that are just like close and just
- 35:13Speaker 4: missing spots or is there is there larger issues that
- 35:16Speaker 4: need to be kind of worked out over time?
- 35:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I think there's a little bit of everything, like
- 35:23Speaker 2: and we're looking at it. You know. Internally, we had
- 35:27Speaker 2: a three hour meeting on Monday just discussing our staff
- 35:31Speaker 2: and basically how to get them on the rails and
- 35:35Speaker 2: how to pitch to their capability and Yeah, use, there's
- 35:38Speaker 2: a number of things to look at, you know, like
- 35:40Speaker 2: a bigger picture. One is like, hey, like it's really
- 35:44Speaker 2: difficult scheduling here because you got to play at home
- 35:46Speaker 2: three of the four weekends because of the crowd, and
- 35:49Speaker 2: we're tied into some tournaments for another couple of years.
- 35:52Speaker 2: But like, hey, do I need to bring in like
- 35:55Speaker 2: PCU or somebody like I'm just Texas Tech or you know,
- 35:59Speaker 2: UCLA in a non conference weekend so that our staff
- 36:03Speaker 2: is ready, you know, opening weekend of SEC play. And
- 36:06Speaker 2: you know, again with the scheduling, you know, parameters were
- 36:10Speaker 2: under That's that's a lot harder than it sounds to
- 36:13Speaker 2: actually do that, But that was a layer of it.
- 36:17Speaker 2: But that was like a big picture and then the
- 36:19Speaker 2: more micro or smaller focused stuff making sure the relievers
- 36:23Speaker 2: are ready to go with you know, coming out of
- 36:26Speaker 2: the pen and a couple adjustments we can make with that,
- 36:29Speaker 2: making sure like we were flipped a little bit this
- 36:32Speaker 2: week of how the starters are preparing, you know, relative
- 36:35Speaker 2: to their bullpender in the week and then their bullpen
- 36:38Speaker 2: leading into the game. You know, when a guy goes
- 36:42Speaker 2: gets off the rails with a pitch or two, making
- 36:45Speaker 2: sure they're clear on their adjustment, you know, whether it's mental, visual,
- 36:48Speaker 2: or physical to get back on it. You know, Kotcheski's
- 36:52Speaker 2: you know great at staff's are always great at throwing strikes.
- 36:55Speaker 2: So it's like there's some guests play intricacies that we
- 36:59Speaker 2: adjusted with a few guys, and so we just they're
- 37:02Speaker 2: young players. We just got to keep advancing them, and
- 37:07Speaker 2: so I just I want to make sure we as
- 37:09Speaker 2: a staff are giving them every chance to be successful,
- 37:13Speaker 2: and we will continue to do that. I thought take
- 37:16Speaker 2: opponent out of it Tuesday was a step in the
- 37:18Speaker 2: right direction because that was a number of guys that
- 37:20Speaker 2: we count on and getting them back on the mound,
- 37:23Speaker 2: and I thought they executed great in the game. It's
- 37:26Speaker 2: great to see like Grant font No come out and
- 37:27Speaker 2: get us a couple of clean innings, pause finishing it out.
- 37:30Speaker 2: He's going to be a star here. He's he's coming
- 37:33Speaker 2: fast ricking, you know, got us a scoreless inning in
- 37:36Speaker 2: the first. So there was a lot of positives and
- 37:38Speaker 2: we we just got to keep working. That's part of it,
- 37:41Speaker 2: you know, controllable weeken control, which is the preparation part.
- 37:44Speaker 3: Of this, cause know what else you have baseball coach
- 37:47Speaker 3: Jay Johnson here on OTV. All right, coach, got a
- 37:51Speaker 3: new series starting tonight Thursday, Friday, Saturday series against Oklahoma,
- 37:55Speaker 3: another great baseball team. Like you said, that's what the
- 37:58Speaker 3: SEC is. Kind of give us maybe a preview of
- 38:01Speaker 3: Oklahoma what we can expect inside the box this weekend.
- 38:06Speaker 2: Yeah, they're playing well. Like I mentioned, they're one of
- 38:08Speaker 2: those teams that's seventeen and four or eighteen and three
- 38:12Speaker 2: or something like that, great record. They've pitched really well.
- 38:17Speaker 2: They have a lot of velocity on the mound, like
- 38:19Speaker 2: hard throwing guys like art throwers, good out pitches, good
- 38:24Speaker 2: brand of offense like they have a lot of fast players.
- 38:27Speaker 2: They have a lot of old players. Very similar team
- 38:30Speaker 2: to the team we played last year, just a year older.
- 38:33Speaker 2: You're better, you're stronger, a little more physical, dynamic. They
- 38:36Speaker 2: can it's ball over the fence a little bit more
- 38:39Speaker 2: than they did a year ago. But they're really really
- 38:41Speaker 2: aggressive on the base path and have a really good
- 38:45Speaker 2: style of play. So the last year we were able
- 38:48Speaker 2: to play the series the way we wanted to play it,
- 38:50Speaker 2: and it's really important against these guys. You know, Kentucky,
- 38:53Speaker 2: similar deal next week because they definitely have a distinct
- 38:57Speaker 2: style of play.
- 38:57Speaker 4: Yes, coach, as we get ready for the series, I
- 39:01Speaker 4: wanted you to just kind of pick your brain a
- 39:03Speaker 4: little bit. Take us through your process before a game
- 39:06Speaker 4: before weekend series, Like how do you kind of make decisions,
- 39:10Speaker 4: build the lineup and balance the who has a better bat,
- 39:15Speaker 4: who has the better glove? How do you balance that
- 39:17Speaker 4: lineup each and every game? Is there a plan for
- 39:19Speaker 4: all three going into it, or you'd kind of take
- 39:21Speaker 4: a game by game.
- 39:24Speaker 2: It's there's a plan, but definitely game by game. The
- 39:27Speaker 2: best way to do it is get guys that are
- 39:29Speaker 2: balanced on both sides of the ball that you know
- 39:33Speaker 2: can make a positive contribution on offense and defense. So
- 39:36Speaker 2: like you look at I'll just use last year's team
- 39:39Speaker 2: as an example because it was a championship team. Like
- 39:41Speaker 2: the value in Luis Hernandez and Danny Dickinson was they
- 39:44Speaker 2: were very good on both sides of the ball, So
- 39:47Speaker 2: you weren't you weren't pinch hitting, you weren't platuning for
- 39:51Speaker 2: those guys, and the more you play, the better you get.
- 39:53Speaker 2: But if you have an area you're trying to compensate for,
- 39:57Speaker 2: you know, it's my job as a coach and where
- 40:00Speaker 2: you think you should have to or shouldn't have to.
- 40:02Speaker 2: It's like Tuesday night, I mean in terms of how
- 40:04Speaker 2: we use the pitching, how we use the eight and
- 40:06Speaker 2: nine hole in the lineup, it's like until we get going,
- 40:10Speaker 2: like that's the way you have to do it. And
- 40:12Speaker 2: I don't mind it that way because I think it
- 40:15Speaker 2: it's more guys involved in all that. But ultimately, our
- 40:17Speaker 2: job is to win every game that we play. So
- 40:21Speaker 2: there's a thorough process. As soon as I hang up
- 40:23Speaker 2: with you guys, I'm walking in here with the staff
- 40:25Speaker 2: and kind of going through our outline. It's a faster
- 40:30Speaker 2: week obviously, start on Thursday, so everybody's you know, spent
- 40:34Speaker 2: the last you know, since the end of the game
- 40:36Speaker 2: on Tuesday to today on Oklahoma. I got to be honest,
- 40:40Speaker 2: I cheated. I did some stuff on Tuesday before on
- 40:43Speaker 2: Oklahoma and that's very out of character for me. But
- 40:47Speaker 2: we got that coming right now and then we'll make
- 40:50Speaker 2: some decisions, you know, on the lineup. And there's some
- 40:53Speaker 2: some interesting things in this series that we have to
- 40:56Speaker 2: have to pay attention to, and so there may be
- 40:58Speaker 2: some some couple different things than usual.
- 41:01Speaker 3: Yeah, coach, and like we were talking beforehand, a guy
- 41:04Speaker 3: like Jake Brown, who's hitting four hundred and just crushing
- 41:07Speaker 3: the ball eleven homers, thirty seven RBIs already Like I'm
- 41:10Speaker 3: sure part of the conversation is, Okay, we got to
- 41:12Speaker 3: make sure this guy gets pitches, like we got to
- 41:14Speaker 3: make sure that everybody's doing their job around him as well,
- 41:17Speaker 3: because I mean, he's hitting so well and he's been
- 41:20Speaker 3: so good at the plate. He hasn't been chasing anything,
- 41:23Speaker 3: and he's got as many walks as he does strikeouts,
- 41:25Speaker 3: and so I'm sure like that those are big conversations
- 41:27Speaker 3: that feel like they're easy, but a lot of thought
- 41:30Speaker 3: goes into something like that to make sure your guy
- 41:32Speaker 3: is getting an opportunity.
- 41:34Speaker 2: Yeah, no doubt, and he has helped like last year.
- 41:40Speaker 2: You know, use that only as an example of point
- 41:42Speaker 2: of comparison, you know, I mean I mentioned Luis. I
- 41:46Speaker 2: mean he's hitting the eight hole in some games in
- 41:49Speaker 2: the NCAA tournament, and nobody has bigger hits than that guy,
- 41:52Speaker 2: you know, and so like he putting pressure that you
- 41:56Speaker 2: can score two runs in every inning that you play.
- 42:00Speaker 2: Tell guys get going. You have to pay more attention
- 42:02Speaker 2: to what you were talking about. And you know, Derek
- 42:05Speaker 2: for me is one of the best players in the country.
- 42:07Speaker 2: So I mean, ideally you'd like to hit and lead off,
- 42:09Speaker 2: but you know we've hit him behind him for a
- 42:13Speaker 2: few games here just to help that cause. And he's
- 42:17Speaker 2: cashed in. And you know, our best scenario is you know,
- 42:21Speaker 2: Banfield nine, Mileum one and then Brown Imperial two three.
- 42:25Speaker 2: You know, four guys that won us a championship, all
- 42:28Speaker 2: batting right in a row. Kind of putting Jake in
- 42:30Speaker 2: the middle of that. But it's a game by game thing,
- 42:33Speaker 2: like we've flipped it on Tuesday for a very specific
- 42:36Speaker 2: reason and it was great. You know, Chris got to
- 42:38Speaker 2: pick to RBA single, you know, and the bases loaded.
- 42:40Speaker 2: They kind of put that one away the other day.
- 42:42Speaker 2: So it's, uh, yeah, we want to We want Jake
- 42:45Speaker 2: to impact the game as much as possible. Proud of
- 42:47Speaker 2: his development. He's off to a great start and doing
- 42:51Speaker 2: a great job.
- 42:52Speaker 3: All right there, he is, coach j Johnson good enough
- 42:55Speaker 3: to join us every single Thursday, hero on O TV. Coach.
