1:39
Speaker 5: the big story that we are looking at here this
1:41
Speaker 5: morning is the flooding. And I'm going to go ahead
1:43
Speaker 5: and tell you now that this show is going to
1:45
Speaker 5: be a little bit more disorganized than it normally is,
1:48
Speaker 5: because we're going to be jumping all over the place
1:51
Speaker 5: talking to various elected officials, emergency officials, so on and
1:54
Speaker 5: so forth about the flooding that has hit the Canaul
1:56
Speaker 5: Valley area. I do say, though, one of the things
1:58
Speaker 5: that I want to make sure of is. We want
2:00

2:21
Speaker 5: jumping all over the place this morning. I want to
2:23
Speaker 5: start with Canawh County Commissioner Lance Wheeler. Commissioner Wheeler, good morning, welcome.
2:27
Speaker 3: To the show.
2:28
Speaker 6: Good morning Dave, thanks for having me on.
2:30
Speaker 3: Thank you for being here.
2:31
Speaker 5: Obviously, I don't know what time it hit in your area,
2:34
Speaker 5: but mine over in Tay's Valley was about first heavy
2:38
Speaker 5: rain about two two thirty or so this morning. Takes
2:40
Speaker 5: a lot to wake me up, but it actually did
2:41
Speaker 5: wake me up. With the rain and the and the
2:44
Speaker 5: and the thunder this morning. What can you tell us
2:46
Speaker 5: out there right now? And I do want to pass
2:48
Speaker 5: this note along. Just got info here that you have
2:51
Speaker 5: activated the EOC due to a fla of the due
2:55
Speaker 5: to flash flooding here Kanaw Valley.
2:57
Speaker 3: What can you tell us this morning, sir?
2:59
Speaker 6: Yeah, We've been following this storm since yesterday. I want
3:02
Speaker 6: to thank Governor Patrick Morrisey in his office for issuing
3:05
Speaker 6: a state of preparedness. You know, when we started getting
3:07
Speaker 6: calls around four am of individuals saying that water was
3:11
Speaker 6: encroaching onto their property in their house. We were threating
3:14
Speaker 6: getting calls that people were trapped in their cars because
3:16
Speaker 6: they were trying to thrive through flooded areas. We knew
3:20
Speaker 6: immediately that this was going to be as big as
3:22
Speaker 6: the deal as it is now, so we immediately activated
3:26
Speaker 6: our Emergency on Command Center at Metronoe on one with
3:29
Speaker 6: our emergency management in the County Commission. And we also
3:33
Speaker 6: determined that because it was so early in the morning
3:35
Speaker 6: and this flash flooding was hitting, we wanted people to
3:38
Speaker 6: know as soon as possible. So the areas that were
3:41
Speaker 6: affected the most looked like it was western Kennall County,
3:43
Speaker 6: which was Saint Auban's Tornado Dietra area and Sissonville, So
3:48
Speaker 6: we activated those sirens in that area to wake people
3:52
Speaker 6: up to let them know there's possibility of water coming
3:55
Speaker 6: onto your property and you may be trapped. And that's
3:58
Speaker 6: why we activated those and we send out our WII system,
4:01
Speaker 6: the Wireless Emergency Alerts, that's the system that comes across
4:05
Speaker 6: your phone, just to let people know that there is
4:08
Speaker 6: an issue with the weather, that there may be flooding
4:11
Speaker 6: in your area, and we want you to be alert
4:13
Speaker 6: now when seconds matter.
4:15
Speaker 5: Ken We're talking with the Kenaw County Commissioner, Lance Wheeler.
4:18
Speaker 5: And this has been a and I'm not going to
4:20
Speaker 5: ask you to play meteorologists. We'll leave that up to
4:21
Speaker 5: the Spencers and the Brians and the Tonies of the world.
4:24
Speaker 5: But this has been a bizarre winter already. And then
4:28
Speaker 5: you know, yeah, overnight the temperature actually raised, depending on
4:31
Speaker 5: where you live, about ten to twenty degrees. It actually
4:34
Speaker 5: went up overnight last night. And today we're expected to
4:37
Speaker 5: be in the late or the upper sixties, I should say,
4:40
Speaker 5: before we possibly introduce snow into the area next week.
4:44
Speaker 5: But bottom line is, anytime you're dealing with Mother Nature,
4:47
Speaker 5: it's nothing to be messed with, and particularly high water,
4:51
Speaker 5: you know, snow, you can kind of, you know, somewhat
4:53
Speaker 5: prepare for but when you get these high water issues,
4:56
Speaker 5: and I know there's already been several high water rescues,
4:58
Speaker 5: not only here in Kanaw County, Hutnam County and other
5:00
Speaker 5: areas as well, And we're going to talk to people
5:03
Speaker 5: from all of those areas that you mentioned, Cistonville, Nitro
5:07
Speaker 5: and other areas. It can come up on you real quickly,
5:10
Speaker 5: especially if you're driving.
5:10
Speaker 6: Commissioner, you know, and that's why we've been encouraging everyone
5:14
Speaker 6: that even though that doesn't seem like it's raining right now,
5:17
Speaker 6: at this point, the flooding does not end.
5:20
Speaker 7: You know.
5:20
Speaker 6: We're going to see water coming off the mountains starting
5:22
Speaker 6: to slowly fill up the creeks, fill up the rivers,
5:24
Speaker 6: and so we might see some other areas that might
5:26
Speaker 6: have a little bit of increase in flooding. But the
5:29
Speaker 6: water is receding at this point from what we can tell.
5:32
Speaker 6: But the water is still on the road. So please
5:34
Speaker 6: be careful if you are driving, be cautious, drive slowly,
5:38
Speaker 6: pay attention, and if you see high water in the road,
5:41
Speaker 6: don't assume that you can just drive through it. You
5:44
Speaker 6: know the phrase turn around, don't drown. So we're encouraging
5:48
Speaker 6: everyone to be very cautious this morning into the afternoon.
5:51
Speaker 6: This water is not going to go anywhere this quickly.
5:54
Speaker 6: It's still going to be on the road, so just
5:56
Speaker 6: be careful and we'll continue to monitor and see is
5:59
Speaker 6: there any flooding damage. At this point, we've been receiving
6:02
Speaker 6: some calls of people saying there's water in their basement,
6:06
Speaker 6: but we haven't seen anyone with a drastic property loss
6:09
Speaker 6: from this flash flooding well, and.
6:11
Speaker 5: Again, only time will tell on some of those because unfortunately,
6:13
Speaker 5: living in a state like we do, Commissioner, with all
6:16
Speaker 5: the mountains, as you mentioned earlier, sometimes it's not necessarily
6:20
Speaker 5: what you think of with the creeks or the rivers
6:21
Speaker 5: or whatever. Sometimes it's things like you said, water running
6:25
Speaker 5: off the mountains and rock slides, and we were in
6:28
Speaker 5: a rural state, man, and that's going to happen.
6:30
Speaker 7: Well.
6:31
Speaker 6: I think that's why it's so important that our first
6:33
Speaker 6: responders in Metro Namin one Mergency Management we're always prepared.
6:36
Speaker 6: You know, we're always doing the iron tests once a month.
6:40
Speaker 6: We're always planning for these type of events because you know,
6:43
Speaker 6: in my lifetime here in West Virginia, in Kannall County,
6:45
Speaker 6: I've never seen this much rain in February, and so
6:49
Speaker 6: you have to be prepared for the unexpected when it
6:52
Speaker 6: comes to natural disasters. I feel like we've been prepared.
6:55
Speaker 6: I'm very proud of what we were able to do
6:57
Speaker 6: with Metro nine one and all of our first responders.
7:00
Speaker 6: And we'll continue to assess even after the rain's over,
7:03
Speaker 6: making sure we're checking in the area, seeing if anyone
7:05
Speaker 6: needs any assistance or is there anything we can do
7:07
Speaker 6: on the county commission level to help people out after
7:10
Speaker 6: the flooding's over.
7:11
Speaker 5: Yeah, because that's when the real work begins sometimes is
7:14
Speaker 5: after the flooding, because that's when you have to see
7:15
Speaker 5: do we need to open shelters, do we need to
7:17
Speaker 5: do And it's really too early to tell, because as
7:19
Speaker 5: you said, the rain is starting to wind down, but
7:21
Speaker 5: there's still a few heavier bands out there in some
7:24
Speaker 5: areas right now. They're looking not necessarily in the Canal Valley,
7:28
Speaker 5: but I know areas south of here. They're looking at
7:29
Speaker 5: tornado warnings that were issued for areas of southern West Virginia,
7:33
Speaker 5: so some people are dealing with that that may be
7:35
Speaker 5: listening to us this morning. And then in the eastern
7:37
Speaker 5: part of West Virginia. It's an ice storm situation that
7:40
Speaker 5: they're dealing with from the Greenbrier Valley on up, so
7:42
Speaker 5: it's certainly a very active weather day. Commission Wheeler, I
7:45
Speaker 5: know you've been out in it, you and the other
7:46
Speaker 5: commissioners as well, monitoring the situations.
7:48
Speaker 3: I appreciate you being here. Be safe. We'll talk again soon. Actually,
7:52
Speaker 3: I think I have you scheduled to come on the
7:53
Speaker 3: show tomorrow, so I guess i'll talk to you tomorrow.
7:56
Speaker 6: I'll see you tomorrow, and just reminds you and your
7:59
Speaker 6: listeners turnaround, don't drown, and if you need any assistance,
8:03
Speaker 6: called the Kennall County Commission or Emergency Management and we'll
8:05
Speaker 6: be out to help you anytime.
8:07
Speaker 5: All right, Commissioner lancewel I appreciate you being here. Man,
8:09
Speaker 5: Thanks a lot, Thank you. It is nine to fifteen
8:12
Speaker 5: the Dave Island Show and five any Lie. Brought to
8:13
Speaker 5: you in part by Pinnacle Consultants. They're Lead paint and

8:26
Speaker 5: and lab analysis. And an assessment report. Visit Pinnacle Court
8:28
Speaker 5: dot net. Because what you don't know can hurt you.
8:32
Speaker 3: Tex says.
8:32
Speaker 5: For years now, we've been hearing every one of the
8:34
Speaker 5: news repeating the common sense words turnaround, don't drown. It's
8:38
Speaker 5: time to hold people financially and in some cases responsible,
8:42
Speaker 5: even if they're not alone criminally responsible. At some point
8:45
Speaker 5: there has to be accountability. Yeah, uh yeah, I agree
8:49
Speaker 5: with the texture on that wholeheartedly. I mean, that's it's
8:52
Speaker 5: a cute little words to say, turnaround, don't drown, but
8:55
Speaker 5: just so many, so many people don't and they think
8:57
Speaker 5: they can go through it. And one other thing I
8:59
Speaker 5: will add from a note. You know, I think most
9:01
Speaker 5: of the schools in the area ended up either going
9:03
Speaker 5: remote or canceling or whatever. Today, if you do not
9:06
Speaker 5: have to be out and about, please stay off the roads.
9:09
Speaker 5: I know people have to go to work, but we don't.
9:12
Speaker 5: The last thing these emergency crews need, folks, is people
9:15
Speaker 5: up the hollers with with their with their cameras out
9:18
Speaker 5: into taking pictures and things of that nature. So if
9:20
Speaker 5: you can stay home, stay off the roads. Speaking of
9:24
Speaker 5: the roads, a kind of a bizarre situation that took
9:27
Speaker 5: place there was a major pothole that developed on sixty
9:32
Speaker 5: four East near the Canal Turnpike in the middle lane.
9:36
Speaker 5: I'm told this morning. I actually drove through there around
9:39
Speaker 5: seven thirty or so, actually a little bit before, so
9:41
Speaker 5: sometime between seven fifteen and seven thirty this morning, and
9:44
Speaker 5: I saw all these cars just pulled over to the side,
9:51
Speaker 5: and I couldn't figure out exactly why you had ten
9:53
Speaker 5: to fifteen car They all busted their tires with this
9:56
Speaker 5: giant pothole. So just stay. I hate to say when
10:02
Speaker 5: it rains, it pours, but when it rains, it pours.
10:04
Speaker 5: So please know that that is a situation this morning
10:06
Speaker 5: as well. Let's switch gears now and go to Delegate
10:09
Speaker 5: Dane of Ferreal. Delegate, good morning, welcome to the show.
10:12
Speaker 7: Good morning this day, which was under better circumstances, but
10:15
Speaker 7: good morning anyhow.
10:16
Speaker 5: Uh Now, you serve a variety of areas, and explain
10:20
Speaker 5: to us again the areas that you call or that
10:22
Speaker 5: you serve.
10:23
Speaker 7: I should say, yeah, we talked about the last time
10:26
Speaker 7: I was with you that Cisville is a very very
10:28
Speaker 7: large area. I incorporate the greater system area incorporates from
10:32
Speaker 7: the edge across lanes over to the edge of Lku
10:34
Speaker 7: and from Channeler Drive in Charleston to's southern Jackson County.
10:38
Speaker 7: So it's you know, a meg area. So when when
10:41
Speaker 7: you hear okay it flooded at Sissonville, there are some
10:44
Speaker 7: particular parts of Cystevill where that's that are prone to it,
10:47
Speaker 7: and there's other parts that are not. So uh you know,
10:50
Speaker 7: we we know, and I'm sure you probably heard the
10:54
Speaker 7: canal to male Weed's Fork area is prone to a
10:57
Speaker 7: lot of flash flooding there. I know the oil our
11:00
Speaker 7: gas station there on Route twenty one and hold that
11:06
Speaker 7: lot was underwater as Throughute twenty one itself right throwing
11:08
Speaker 7: that area typically gets it. Uh, so that was underwater.
11:12
Speaker 7: And then the Tupper's Creek Lake Pork area which is
11:17
Speaker 7: out toward dn G K spark blak plants, uh that
11:20
Speaker 7: stream that flows in there and on up gets it
11:23
Speaker 7: pretty heavy. And then consequently, as the commissioner just said that,
11:29
Speaker 7: you know, water levels are starting to receive and he
11:31
Speaker 7: was very uh right on the point that what happens
11:35
Speaker 7: is the larger screens such as we had the Poka
11:37
Speaker 7: Talico River that flows from Rome County down into back
11:41
Speaker 7: in across lanes and poka that comes right through the
11:44
Speaker 7: uper into the systemville that's that will flood over the
11:48
Speaker 7: next day or two. It's will continue to rise when
11:52
Speaker 7: we had these kinds of uh, you know, rain and
11:55
Speaker 7: flesh bloody.
11:56
Speaker 5: Yeah, we're talking with Dely good day of Ferrell. And
12:00
Speaker 5: have you heard from your constituents out there, because I know,
12:02
Speaker 5: you know a lot of times people will reach out
12:04
Speaker 5: to and that area is a very very close area.
12:07
Speaker 5: You know everybody up there, almost everybody that you say,
12:10
Speaker 5: are you hearing from people this morning?
12:12
Speaker 7: Not directly this morning? And I talked a couple of
12:14
Speaker 7: the first responders we have. We have a great volunteer
12:17
Speaker 7: fire department here at CICINIL, and they are probably one
12:20
Speaker 7: of the most busy volunteer fire departments in the state.
12:24
Speaker 7: Of course, they have a lot of calls on the
12:25
Speaker 7: interstates and things, but you know, they they have the
12:28
Speaker 7: equipment and the training to do these swift water rescues
12:32
Speaker 7: and they've been out most of the night and they
12:36
Speaker 7: continue to be out trying trying to respond to these
12:39
Speaker 7: calls where people are trapped. We won't know the details
12:43
Speaker 7: of those, so to come back in here later today.
12:46
Speaker 7: And one thing as you said to it. You know,
12:48
Speaker 7: we'll start getting our all start getting calls from people
12:51
Speaker 7: as I did that last big rain we had in
12:53
Speaker 7: the spring, I think it was in March. In the March,
12:56
Speaker 7: we had something like this, and people's driveway, these culverts,
13:00
Speaker 7: different things like that were completely washed out. The couldn't
13:03
Speaker 7: get to their home, and so you start to get
13:08
Speaker 7: recalls and requests for help, all those kinds of things.
13:12
Speaker 7: And you know, in another and their game commission leaders, right,
13:15
Speaker 7: you don't have to live near a stream to have
13:18
Speaker 7: water damage when something like this happens in flooded basements,
13:22
Speaker 7: culverts washing out into you can be in a subdivision
13:26
Speaker 7: and have water problem when you have that amount of
13:28
Speaker 7: water in such a short period of time. Yeah, the
13:30
Speaker 7: ground was already saturated.
13:31
Speaker 5: Right, The ground was already saturated, as you said, and
13:34
Speaker 5: then you add upon it. I mean, there's only so
13:36
Speaker 5: much you can do when there are estimates. And again Will,
13:39
Speaker 5: Jeff and Chris are working on the stories. Now we'll
13:41
Speaker 5: get full details of the National Weather Service, but there
13:43
Speaker 5: are estimates that as much as three inches of rain
13:46
Speaker 5: fell in a very small amount of time. And normally
13:50
Speaker 5: one of the things that that we see in West Virginia.
13:54
Speaker 3: Delegate.
13:54
Speaker 5: We a lot of times we'll see these what microburst
13:58
Speaker 5: or things of that nature. This was kind of a
14:01
Speaker 5: different situation. And again I'm not a meteorologist, okay, but
14:04
Speaker 5: but there are that This was a different because this
14:06
Speaker 5: is what they call training with Basically, it's like a
14:09
Speaker 5: train where it just goes and it just man, it
14:12
Speaker 5: just hammered, uh really the entire Canal valley. We're going
14:16
Speaker 5: to check in with the folks of Putnam County a
14:18
Speaker 5: little bit later on in the show, but it hammered
14:20
Speaker 5: the entire area.
14:22
Speaker 7: Yeah, I know, you know, rre just under my roof.
14:25
Speaker 7: I heard the thunder began around two am, I think
14:27
Speaker 7: in that area, and it just kept going all night.
14:31
Speaker 7: You know, you kept thinking, Okay, the storm will pass,
14:33
Speaker 7: but it just continued to you know, as you said,
14:36
Speaker 7: almost like a train effect, just wave back the wave.
14:39
Speaker 7: So you know, these are things that you know, we
14:42
Speaker 7: always have to be on guard here in the state
14:44
Speaker 7: of West Virginia. I've always said when I work on
14:46
Speaker 7: the economic development communities here in the state, you know,
14:48
Speaker 7: we have to think proactively in West Virginia, unlike parts
14:51
Speaker 7: of western Ohio or eastern Carolina because all we are
14:55
Speaker 7: is the state of hills, valleys and floodplains, and uh,
14:59
Speaker 7: you know we're going to get We're not prone the
15:01
Speaker 7: tornadoes and earthquakes and hurricanes those things, but these dolly
15:05
Speaker 7: washers are dangerous and really take a toll on property, dammage,
15:11
Speaker 7: you know, and speak of that. I'm sorry, ramble one,
15:14
Speaker 7: but I've been thinking then with the other delegates, and
15:17
Speaker 7: you know, put my delegate hat back on here, and
15:20
Speaker 7: that is uh, we've had a rough winter and my
15:24
Speaker 7: understanding is there if you watch the National Weather channels
15:27
Speaker 7: that about mid February here, in the next ten to
15:31
Speaker 7: fourteen days, we're going to get another arctic blast and
15:35
Speaker 7: some severe snowstworms in the Ohio Valley area, which most
15:38
Speaker 7: likely would include us. So we're not done with winter yet.
15:42
Speaker 7: And what's already happened is just recavoc on the roads.
15:48
Speaker 7: As you said, you got that big giant hole there.
15:50
Speaker 7: It just came up. It's an all turnpike. When I
15:54
Speaker 7: was sixty four. But you know, I know, you know,
15:56
Speaker 7: if you're driving the interstates anywhere, you're seeing a big
15:59
Speaker 7: hole rip opening between the scenes of the asphalt on
16:02
Speaker 7: the interstates. And that's not counting all of our secondary roads.
16:06
Speaker 7: So you know, I've been talking to other delegates. Whatever
16:10
Speaker 7: we budget for road repair each year in spring summer,
16:14
Speaker 7: we probably have to look at doubling that's this coming
16:17
Speaker 7: year to try to, you know, get the repairs done
16:20
Speaker 7: that needs that are going to be there because the
16:22
Speaker 7: winters is recabbocked and now you got this easire going
16:25
Speaker 7: to wash out as we say, culverts and bridges and such. So, uh,
16:30
Speaker 7: you know, and we're in a time when the governor saying, hey,
16:32
Speaker 7: we have a shortfall. We won't know exactly how much
16:37
Speaker 7: or what, if any Maybe we'll have a surplus. We'll
16:39
Speaker 7: know after this week. He's got a State of the
16:41
Speaker 7: State address and the legislative leadership will come in and
16:46
Speaker 7: give their assessment of the state's financial status. But whatever
16:50
Speaker 7: it is, we have to look at strongly it making
16:54
Speaker 7: sure that highways have the funding they need to address
16:59
Speaker 7: the situations that are happy here, have to win them, all.

Speaker 5: Now to Charleston Mair, Amy Schuler, Goodwin, Mayor, good morning,
19:39
Speaker 5: Welcome to the show.
19:41
Speaker 11: Good morning. Those sunny baseball days sound good right now?
19:45
Speaker 5: Every time I read that every day with the winner
19:47
Speaker 5: we've had, Mayor, I say, man, I wish it were today.
19:50
Speaker 5: Pitchers and catchers at least on the major league level.
19:52
Speaker 5: Do report next week that that makes me happy. What
19:56
Speaker 5: can you tell us as far as within the city
19:59
Speaker 5: of Charleston, Mayor, Well.
20:01
Speaker 11: You know, most most of our team was up at
20:05
Speaker 11: four am. I think probably most of the city was
20:07
Speaker 11: up at four am. Dave with those with the sounds
20:10
Speaker 11: of the thunder and lightning that came through Charleston. You know,
20:14
Speaker 11: when the emergency operations center opens in Kanaw County. You
20:18
Speaker 11: know you've heard me say. C. W. Sigmund is our quarterback.
20:21
Speaker 11: He is our quarterback and we all go in to play.
20:26
Speaker 11: It's it is not by accident that you had on
20:29
Speaker 11: the state, the county, and now the city. We all
20:31
Speaker 11: worked together. We were all out there together with you know, CPDCFD.
20:36
Speaker 11: All of our first responders are Kanauk County Sheriff's Department
20:40
Speaker 11: working hand in glove. We assisted. We had no water
20:44
Speaker 11: rescues with inside city limits. However, we did assist several
20:48
Speaker 11: swift water rescues outside city limits this morning. And you know,
20:53
Speaker 11: our public grounds are also the folks that yes there.
20:57
Speaker 11: They're the guys that come and scrape and salt your roads,
21:00
Speaker 11: but this morning they're already out. We have four backos out.
21:05
Speaker 11: Our grade all is already on Garrison because as soon
21:09
Speaker 11: as that high water and most of it some still subsiding,
21:13
Speaker 11: but most of it is going down. You know, Quarter Garrison,
21:16
Speaker 11: Sugar Creek Works, South Ruffner, South Park, all the ones
21:21
Speaker 11: that are top of mind and tip of tongue if
21:23
Speaker 11: you live in the city of Charleston, as Delegate Daner
21:26
Speaker 11: Ferrell said, you know the roads, you know the issues
21:29
Speaker 11: that we have, and so it's our job now to
21:32
Speaker 11: get in there quickly to remove that debris as well,
21:36
Speaker 11: so folks can get out of their get out of
21:39
Speaker 11: their streets.
21:40
Speaker 3: All right.
21:41
Speaker 5: And I think it's so important to remember when we
21:43
Speaker 5: talk about these areas. And I mentioned West Virginia is
21:46
Speaker 5: primarily a rural state obviously, and then we talked to
21:49
Speaker 5: Delegate to Farrell about that and I think he is.
21:52
Speaker 5: The way he put it is it's a state of
21:53
Speaker 5: hills and valleys and things of that nature, and that
21:56
Speaker 5: creates issues. But within the city of Charleston, there there
22:00
Speaker 5: are issues whenever. We don't always think about municipal flooding,
22:03
Speaker 5: but it does happen.
22:04
Speaker 11: Man, absolutely. I mean, we are the mountain state for
22:08
Speaker 11: a reason, and so we do have several If you
22:12
Speaker 11: live on a creek anywhere in the city of Charleston,
22:15
Speaker 11: we're thirty three square miles. We're the largest area of
22:18
Speaker 11: any city in the state. And so when you look
22:21
Speaker 11: at the ground that we have to cover always when
22:25
Speaker 11: it's something that never gets a lot of coverage, but
22:28
Speaker 11: something we spent a lot of time working on is
22:31
Speaker 11: what is the equipment we need, what do we have,
22:33
Speaker 11: how do we assess it? And these are big pieces
22:37
Speaker 11: of equipment that we do a great job. Our team
22:40
Speaker 11: does a great job maintaining or repairing, but it's heavy
22:44
Speaker 11: equipment and operators who are very skilled to help us
22:48
Speaker 11: get our roads and our streets back into good conditions.
22:51
Speaker 11: So you know, many of us were sitting there going, oh,
22:54
Speaker 11: my gosh, listen to that. I'm up and why is
22:56
Speaker 11: there a two hour delay? A lot of folks were
22:58
Speaker 11: texting me, Well, it's because a lot of our streets
23:00
Speaker 11: in the city you couldn't get passed, and so our
23:05
Speaker 11: teams have been working. They're going to work through the remainder.
23:07
Speaker 11: But I can't stress enough. And just listening to some
23:11
Speaker 11: of the radio calls this morning from four especially from
23:15
Speaker 11: four am Dave to six am, I tell you know,
23:18
Speaker 11: I'm a mayor, but I'm a mom as well. I
23:20
Speaker 11: tell my boys all the time, six inches of water
23:23
Speaker 11: can plow you over, knock you off your feet, and
23:25
Speaker 11: take you away. Just six inches, that's not that much water,
23:29
Speaker 11: and twelve can take away your car.
23:31
Speaker 7: Period.
23:32
Speaker 11: So there's a reason why you've heard us all say,
23:35
Speaker 11: and we constantly say, you know, it's very deceiving. Right,
23:40
Speaker 11: some roads, some dip, some valleys, you don't know how
23:44
Speaker 11: much water is in there. And most important too, you
23:46
Speaker 11: don't know what's in that water, and especially I think
23:49
Speaker 11: we only had one down power line, but you don't
23:52
Speaker 11: know about power lines, and you certainly don't know the
23:54
Speaker 11: debris that's in that water as well. So that's my
23:57
Speaker 11: message of the day to pass along in Thank you
24:00
Speaker 11: always Dave and the media for doing an amazing job
24:04
Speaker 11: you and Jeff and Chris and everybody on the Morning
24:06
Speaker 11: Team just to help us get this word out and
24:10
Speaker 11: to remind folks to please be safe.
24:12
Speaker 3: All right, Mayor, we'll let you go. I appreciate you
24:14
Speaker 3: being here. Thanks a lot, Thank you, sir.

26:08
Speaker 5: Let's go down to Joe Stevens. Joe Stevens wears many
26:11
Speaker 5: hats as he is, of course with the city of Nitro,
26:15
Speaker 5: and he does a variety of different things. So we'll
26:18
Speaker 5: see which hat that he's wearing today and also see
26:21
Speaker 5: that we have other calls coming into so ryn kind
26:23
Speaker 5: of monitor the phone show. Let's go to Joe. Good morning,
26:26
Speaker 5: you're on the air.
26:28
Speaker 12: Well, good morning, Dave. I hope you're safe and sound.
26:31
Speaker 12: In the cholesterial studios of West Virginia Radio Corporation there.
26:36
Speaker 12: But tell you what, earlier this morning, I was out
26:39
Speaker 12: with the Nitro Fire Department responding to a couple of
26:45
Speaker 12: water rescues, one actually on twenty first Street here in Nitro,
26:50
Speaker 12: and it's in talking to my chief Chief Mathis. He
26:54
Speaker 12: was saying that he had never seen the water up
26:56
Speaker 12: that high on twenty first Street. When we were dispatched
27:01
Speaker 12: to that, we took.
27:01
Speaker 6: Care of it.
27:02
Speaker 12: And when we were leaving that we got called to
27:05
Speaker 12: a over a hurricane and handled us water rescue there.
27:10
Speaker 12: There were water rescues stretching from Cable County into Canall County.
27:15
Speaker 13: C W.
27:16
Speaker 12: Sigmund was had his hands full today basically as as
27:21
Speaker 12: the Mayor said earlier, being the quarterback and dispatching the
27:26
Speaker 12: various water rescue units from Saint Albans, from Institute, from hurricane,
27:31
Speaker 12: from Nitro to the various areas that needed it. And
27:35
Speaker 12: he and you know, he was making the calls and
27:38
Speaker 12: we just followed what the quarterbacks said.
27:40
Speaker 5: Talking to you with Joe Stevens, I'll remind you that
27:42
Speaker 5: the day Island showing five eighty line is brought to
27:44
Speaker 5: you a part by Bridge Valley offering custom tailored training
27:46
Speaker 5: to supply skilled graduates and apprenticeships for your company.
27:49
Speaker 3: Visit Bridge Valley Dot ed U. Uh, yeah, Bridge Valley Dot.
27:53
Speaker 3: Need you all right? So what at what point were
27:56
Speaker 3: you called out this morning?
27:56
Speaker 4: Joe?
27:58
Speaker 12: Uh, first call came in was roughly around a little
28:02
Speaker 12: bit before six, I would say, and that's when the
28:07
Speaker 12: various water rescue texts started to get their gear on
28:11
Speaker 12: and starting to respond. I know that there were earlier
28:14
Speaker 12: calls in Cable County, especially in a the owner area.
28:19
Speaker 12: There were calls there, but they as soon as one
28:23
Speaker 12: comes in, it's it's a roller coaster, Dave. I mean,
28:26
Speaker 12: they just come hot and heavy then. And Uh, as
28:29
Speaker 12: I said, the first responders were quite busy this morning
28:33
Speaker 12: as the water was coming through. Hats off also to
28:37
Speaker 12: the National Weather Service. When we're on a scene on
28:40
Speaker 12: something and trying to figure out what might be happening
28:43
Speaker 12: behind us in front of us. If you understand what
28:45
Speaker 12: I'm saying, they we can call in and get a
28:50
Speaker 12: first hand and you know, we're not looking at an
28:52
Speaker 12: app We're getting it from a human intel and getting
28:55
Speaker 12: that information while we're on a rescue call is paramount
28:59
Speaker 12: to what we can do. And can't do at the
29:03
Speaker 12: rescue scene.
29:04
Speaker 5: Again, we're talking with Joe Stevens, and again I think
29:07
Speaker 5: it's interesting to go back, Joe that what you said
29:10
Speaker 5: that the gentleman said about about twenty first Street in
29:13
Speaker 5: Nitro that they had never ever seen anything quite like
29:17
Speaker 5: what we saw during the overnight hours.
29:20
Speaker 12: No, and I and I shared a picture with Jeff
29:24
Speaker 12: Jenkins showing him what it looked like, and he'll probably
29:28
Speaker 12: have that up on the Metro site here soon. But yes,
29:31
Speaker 12: there's water that you know, it's got to go somewhere.
29:35
Speaker 12: And also we just I mean just within the last month,
29:38
Speaker 12: we have installed a new weather station on top of
29:41
Speaker 12: city Hall here in Nitro and it's got a certified
29:45
Speaker 12: weather gage on it. From two o'clock to say eight
29:49
Speaker 12: o'clock or so, we got three point two inches of
29:52
Speaker 12: rain right here in Nitro. So it was it was
29:56
Speaker 12: coming in waves, it really was. And again and it
30:00
Speaker 12: was the you know, all the first responders, the public
30:03
Speaker 12: works crews from all the various cities. We're out trying
30:06
Speaker 12: to do as much as they can, to help as
30:08
Speaker 12: much as they could.
30:10
Speaker 5: All right, Joe, I appreciate it as always you as
30:12
Speaker 5: as I said, I have you on the show. It's
30:14
Speaker 5: like which hat are you wearing today? But there's probably
30:17
Speaker 5: the most important one, and that is that you're very
30:20
Speaker 5: involved in the emergency rescues and things of that nature.
30:24
Speaker 3: Joe, I appreciate you as always, my friend.
30:25
Speaker 12: Thanks a lot, Pitchers and catchers next week, Davo.
30:29
Speaker 5: Wait, that's exactly right, all right, Joe Stevens from the

Speaker 5: was from Ryan that to two roads in North Park
31:06

31:10
Speaker 5: we are seeing quite a bit of that. You want

Speaker 17: Good morning, Dave. Thanks to Loud. I'm interested in hearing

34:51
Speaker 17: something that was interesting the emergency alert sayst nation for nationwide.
35:00
Speaker 17: It was put off last night and I guess that's
35:04
Speaker 17: when the rain started coming down. And so that's what
35:09
Speaker 17: we have now.
35:10
Speaker 5: All right, Jim, Jim always give us some good insight.

Speaker 3: Michael, good morning, Welcome to the show.
35:40
Speaker 18: Good morning Dave, thanks for having me, Thank you.
35:42
Speaker 3: For being here. What can you report from Putnam County, Sir.
35:46
Speaker 18: So Putnam County. Obviously, we had a larger rainstorm that
35:50
Speaker 18: came through the county started yesterday evening, ring all through
35:54
Speaker 18: the night and into this morning. As a result, this
35:57
Speaker 18: morning we started taking calls for of roadways which happened
36:01
Speaker 18: in the common areas of which localized flooding occurs in
36:05
Speaker 18: Putnam County. That progressed around four forty five to five
36:09
Speaker 18: am into folks driving into high water from their vehicles.
36:15
Speaker 18: We have successfully had four water rescues from vehicles and
36:19
Speaker 18: then water did continue to rise in the Harbor Lane
36:23
Speaker 18: area of Hurricane and we ended up having to do
36:27
Speaker 18: four water rescue missions from houses and evacuating those people
36:32
Speaker 18: to a shelter that we have here at the Valley
36:34
Speaker 18: Park in Hurricane.
36:36
Speaker 5: What areas you gave us a couple of the areas,
36:39
Speaker 5: but overall, if you had the I guess rank them.
36:40
Speaker 5: That sounds kind of weird to do that, But what
36:42
Speaker 5: were the worst hardest hit areas of Putnam County?
36:45
Speaker 18: The majority of the calls, Dave, the statistics that I
36:48
Speaker 18: went over with you have occurred in the Hurricane area
36:51
Speaker 18: of Putnam County. However, we have had calls all over
36:55
Speaker 18: the county to include Poke, Windfield and Hurricane.
36:58
Speaker 5: Are we starting to see some light at the end
37:00
Speaker 5: of the proverbial tunnel hill?
37:01
Speaker 19: Sir?
37:02
Speaker 5: I'm going to go to Brian Hughes with Storm Tracker
37:04
Speaker 5: thirteen immediately after you. But are we starting to see
37:07
Speaker 5: some light at the end of the tunnel here?
37:09
Speaker 7: Sir?
37:10
Speaker 18: Well, currently I'm at Valley Park and I'm glad to
37:12
Speaker 18: report that it is stopt raining here. So that is
37:16
Speaker 18: a great thing for us here in Putnam County, and
37:18
Speaker 18: hopefully in a few hours the water's down and we're
37:21
Speaker 18: able to go out and fully assess the damage that's
37:23
Speaker 18: been created from this storm.
37:25
Speaker 5: All right, Well, I understand that you have an interview
37:27
Speaker 5: that's waiting on you right now. My good friend Handah
37:30
Speaker 5: client just text me and said, Hey, you're interrupting my interview.
37:34
Speaker 3: Kind of a little joker.
37:36
Speaker 5: Correct in all seriousness, Hats off to all that you
37:40
Speaker 5: folks do out there to try to keep people safe. Man,
37:44
Speaker 5: I do appreciate it, and I appreciate you taking time
37:46
Speaker 5: a new schedule to be here.
37:47
Speaker 3: Thanks a lot.
37:48
Speaker 18: All right, thank you so much, David. If I could
37:50
Speaker 18: just put a plug in there, sir, folks, please do
37:52
Speaker 18: not drive through high water again. Folks, please do not
37:55
Speaker 18: drive through high water.
37:56
Speaker 5: You shouldn't have to tell people that, but sometimes you do.
37:58
Speaker 5: I understand how that goes. Thanks a lot, man, all right,
38:00
Speaker 5: Thanks Dave. Bye, Michael White again with nine to one
38:03
Speaker 5: one services in putn ky.
38:04
Speaker 11: Yeah.
38:04
Speaker 3: I mean, guys, I mean listen, don't be stupid. Don't
38:09
Speaker 3: drive through high water.
38:10
Speaker 14: Period.
38:11
Speaker 3: Now, I realize we've all been in that situation when
38:13
Speaker 3: you're driving and you're like old crap.
38:14
Speaker 5: I didn't realize that it was that high. But just
38:17
Speaker 5: don't just don't, all right, don't put your life on
38:21
Speaker 5: the line along with everybody else's, including the emergency grows.
38:24
Speaker 5: I have to go rescue you and get you out
38:27
Speaker 5: of there. It's nine forty five. Let's go now to
38:30
Speaker 5: our good friend Brian Hughes from Storm Tracker thirteen.
38:33
Speaker 20: What the heck, man, I think if it's been a
38:36
Speaker 20: long morning, that's for sure.
38:38
Speaker 3: So I mean this was predicted. I mean we knew
38:42
Speaker 3: we had flood watches and things of that nature, and
38:44
Speaker 3: we all went to bed last night after that big
38:46
Speaker 3: Marshall victory. By the way, go hurt. I'm going to
38:48
Speaker 3: throw that out there. And then and then the rain.
38:51
Speaker 3: What time did it? Really?
38:53
Speaker 5: I mean, it takes a lot Brian to wake me up,
38:55
Speaker 5: and I mean about two o'clock in Tay's Valley this morning.
38:58
Speaker 5: I thought the windows, we're gonna blow off my house.
39:03
Speaker 5: What what time did it roll through? And what was
39:05
Speaker 5: it as bad as predicted? Or we a little surprised
39:08
Speaker 5: by it? Give us a story.
39:10
Speaker 9: Uh.
39:10
Speaker 20: We knew that we knew things were gonna ramp up
39:12
Speaker 20: overnight and we would have rain showers and thunderstorms this morning.
39:15
Speaker 7: But what you know? Uh?
39:17
Speaker 20: I was asked a couple of times, like do we
39:19
Speaker 20: know it's going to be this bad?
39:20
Speaker 7: And I said, just like you said, we.
39:22
Speaker 20: Had flood watches that were issued. Uh, we knew it
39:24
Speaker 20: was gonna rain heavy. We knew we're gonna have thunderstorms
39:26
Speaker 20: in the morning. But you only can see something that
39:30
Speaker 20: is at this level of flooding about two to three
39:33
Speaker 20: hours ahead of time, because all of a sudden ingredients
39:35
Speaker 20: start to come together the perfect way. Uh, then you
39:38
Speaker 20: start to see where the boundary is gonna set up.
39:40
Speaker 20: So you know, it's kind of like this morning. Uh,
39:43
Speaker 20: just as they were issuing the flash flood warnings for uh,
39:46
Speaker 20: you know, the Huntington area, Sex Spencer and I said,
39:49
Speaker 20: get ready, I said, they're gonna issue flash flood warning
39:51
Speaker 20: for you know, Putnam and canall counties, I said, in
39:54
Speaker 20: about forty five minutes. And well, and behold, I mean
39:56
Speaker 20: it's just like clockwork. But do you but what you
39:59
Speaker 20: have was pacific moisture combined with gulf moisture. You've got
40:04
Speaker 20: a frontal boundary that's passing through the area, and you've
40:07
Speaker 20: got a ripple in the jet stream, and all that
40:09
Speaker 20: just comes together at a perfect place at perfect time.
40:11
Speaker 6: And boy did it ever.
40:13
Speaker 20: And not only that, we had tornado warnings this morning
40:15
Speaker 20: across eastern Kentucky and parts of West Virginia. And and
40:18
Speaker 20: we we know we had some We had a big
40:21
Speaker 20: old mess in our hands that just kept on getting bigger.
40:23
Speaker 5: Did we actually see the tornadoes happen in those areas
40:27
Speaker 5: in southern West Virginia and eastern Kentucky.
40:28
Speaker 3: Brian, The reason I.
40:29
Speaker 5: Asked is because I saw a graphic that our Chris
40:32
Speaker 5: Lawrence posted on his social media pages and there was
40:37
Speaker 5: a box right on top of the house where I
40:40
Speaker 5: used to live when my wife and I lived in Logan,
40:43
Speaker 5: and I don't remember there being a I do remember
40:45
Speaker 5: there was one instance that there was a tornado that
40:48
Speaker 5: touchdown at Chief Logan State Park years ago, but I
40:51
Speaker 5: was like, that's that's actually our house that it was expected.
40:55
Speaker 5: Do we actually see that come to Fruition and down
40:57
Speaker 5: there in southern West Virginia and eastern Kentucky.
41:00
Speaker 20: We in eastern Kentucky, we firmly believe we had a
41:02
Speaker 20: tornado touchdown, probably a two to three minute touchdown, probably
41:06
Speaker 20: very small e F zero to EF one at best.
41:10
Speaker 20: They're gonna have to.
41:11
Speaker 18: Look at that.
41:12
Speaker 20: We believe there's one that was south of the Williamson
41:14
Speaker 20: area that was not warned. It was very small, but
41:17
Speaker 20: we saw it on radar show up the ones that
41:20
Speaker 20: were down there around the Logan County area and Mingo
41:24
Speaker 20: County that tornado warning. We know there was some wind
41:27
Speaker 20: damage but whether or not it was a tornado probably
41:31
Speaker 20: that's that's one of the spots that's more in question,
41:33
Speaker 20: but we know there was. The winds were picking up
41:35
Speaker 20: pretty good down there. But you know, these flash flood emergencies,
41:38
Speaker 20: they are the top end of the scale on flood warnings,
41:41
Speaker 20: flash flood warning, things of that nature. And whenever your
41:44
Speaker 20: phones went off this morning and went wild, that is
41:48
Speaker 20: that is on purpose because this is severe, significant flooding
41:52
Speaker 20: that is catastrophically damaging and can be deadly, and that
41:57
Speaker 20: was what we were worried about. Thankfully, no reports of
41:59
Speaker 20: death yet, but lots of water rescues around the area.
42:02
Speaker 5: Well, and again we're not out of the woods yet
42:04
Speaker 5: because I think the flood of the floodwatch is in
42:06
Speaker 5: effect for the Canal Valley for how long until what time?
42:09
Speaker 6: Actually they just went through.
42:11
Speaker 20: They've started canceling that from West's East, Okay, so Capitol
42:14
Speaker 20: Coutany has been canceled.
42:16
Speaker 7: Canal.
42:16
Speaker 20: I do not think it's been canceled just yet, but
42:20
Speaker 20: we do have the flood warning. It goes all the
42:22
Speaker 20: way through I think eleven o'clock this morning, and that's
42:25
Speaker 20: mostly for the creeks and streams that are still up,
42:28
Speaker 20: mind you. Hurricane Creek at the record this morning broke
42:31
Speaker 20: the all time record for its level on the river,
42:35
Speaker 20: which was eighteen feet. We got over eighteen and a
42:38
Speaker 20: half feet this morning. So there's a lot of creeks
42:40
Speaker 20: and streams are still out of their banks. Dry Branch
42:43
Speaker 20: is still emptying all kinds of debris into the Canal River.
42:46
Speaker 20: So you know there's we still got ways to go
42:49
Speaker 20: and get all this water receded and then clean up
42:52
Speaker 20: for a lot of folks.
42:52
Speaker 3: And the hell concern Brian, are we about the rivers?
42:56
Speaker 14: The big river is.
42:57
Speaker 20: Not too much listen to the Canal's going to come
42:59
Speaker 20: up four to six feet, but we don't have to
43:02
Speaker 20: worry about that. That's not a big deal. The you
43:05
Speaker 20: know two mile Elk River two mile or two mile
43:09
Speaker 20: at Elk River. That one that's coming back down, idiot
43:13
Speaker 20: minor flood stags this morning. That's the one that runs
43:15
Speaker 20: right in front of the animal shelter. We've got Hurricane
43:18
Speaker 20: Greeks coming back down. Mud Creek is coming back down.
43:21
Speaker 20: But you know, still mud Greek's on take awhile to
43:24
Speaker 20: come down, so it will hurricane all.
43:26
Speaker 5: Right before we let you go. So it's gonna be
43:28
Speaker 5: quiet over the next couple of days. But there's been
43:30
Speaker 5: a lot of people pointing to next week. And I
43:32
Speaker 5: don't want to put the cart before the horse, but
43:33
Speaker 5: with this winter, you never know. I'm expecting everything but
43:36
Speaker 5: locus now, you know to because we've been hit with
43:38
Speaker 5: everything else.
43:40
Speaker 3: So what's the early call? Early, early, early call.
43:43
Speaker 5: And I'm not going to be that guy who rashes
43:45
Speaker 5: you on social media that says how much snow am
43:47
Speaker 5: I going to have in my backyard on Campbell's Creek?
43:49
Speaker 5: You know, I mean, I'm not going to do that
43:51
Speaker 5: this early. But let's just talk about what's the early
43:55
Speaker 5: call for the potential winter storm next week.
43:58
Speaker 20: Right now, we we are more than anything looking at
44:01
Speaker 20: rain and snow that makes us together with maybe a
44:03
Speaker 20: little bit of icing. We don't have any significant accumulations
44:07
Speaker 20: that we're looking at the moment because it is very
44:09
Speaker 20: difficult that you know, what we have right now is
44:12
Speaker 20: this is a problem that all this rain. First of all,
44:15
Speaker 20: how much of the ground is going to be a
44:18
Speaker 20: touch warmer. It's not going to support snow for a
44:20
Speaker 20: little while. It would be very limited on the melting.
44:22
Speaker 20: But still we've got to look at that there is
44:26
Speaker 20: mon Tuesday into Wednesday, we will have rain, snow, a
44:30
Speaker 20: lot of the warm wedge will win some of this,
44:33
Speaker 20: and we've talked about that before, talked about that, you know,
44:36
Speaker 20: back in November. But the warm wedge wins a lot
44:40
Speaker 20: of this Tuesday, end of Wednesday. But ming is the
44:44
Speaker 20: polar vortex is still whipping around Canada and we get
44:48
Speaker 20: little lobes of energy and cold their shots over the
44:51
Speaker 20: next two to three weeks. That will still well, it
44:54
Speaker 20: won't be anything like what we had in January. Still,
44:56
Speaker 20: it's going to give us enough opportunity to see some
44:59
Speaker 20: frozen precipitate sitting here at a number of times just
45:01
Speaker 20: depends on how much warm air we get from the south.
45:03
Speaker 5: Well, we're gonna take over Canada anyway, so we can
45:06
Speaker 5: just tell those people, hey, knock it off up there, right.
45:09
Speaker 20: Hey, at this point, we've got Greenland, Canada, the Panama Canal,
45:13
Speaker 20: and who the hell knows what else we're gonna take.
45:15
Speaker 7: So we'll take all their weather.
45:17
Speaker 5: All right, Ryan, Will you go take a nap somewhere

Speaker 5: had Judge Mary clair Acer schedule for this show. I
48:19
Speaker 5: had former Charleston me or Danny Jones' schedule for the

48:23
Speaker 3: From recovery point. So obviously the flooding and the flooding
48:25

48:29
Speaker 3: at some point. I can tell you that.
48:30
Speaker 5: On tomorrow's show, Hannah Gardner from the Canal Charleston Humane
48:33
Speaker 5: Association with this week's Adopt Me please pet of the Week,
48:35
Speaker 5: and our thoughts and prayers go out to the folks
48:37
Speaker 5: at the shelter, because if you see the any pictures
48:41
Speaker 5: floating around, they posted some themselves about the water situation
48:44
Speaker 5: up there. It's pretty bad. At least it was earlier
48:46
Speaker 5: where the animal shelter is located. Now no animals were
48:49
Speaker 5: in danger because they have them, you know, elevated. But yeah, again,
48:53
Speaker 5: please please say a little prayer for those folks up
48:56

49:19
Speaker 5: schedule earlier this week, and it is Super Bowl Sunday,

Speaker 5: Donald Trump.
49:28
Speaker 3: Possibly together TJ. That would be interesting, It would be interesting.
49:33
Speaker 3: I'd pay to see that. I mean, who you taking
49:35
Speaker 3: the Super Bowl? Give me the Chiefs and Chiefs yeah,
49:38
Speaker 3: I think so.
49:39

49:41
Speaker 5: is rigged because I really don't know.

49:46
Speaker 5: And the way I feel, and I said earlier on
49:47
Speaker 5: the show, the way I feel about the Chip everybody
49:49
Speaker 5: hating on the Chiefs.
49:50
Speaker 3: You don't like them, beat them, I mean beat them.
49:53
Speaker 19: I can see why people may the conspiracy theorists may
49:56
Speaker 19: want to say that, especially given all the online betting
49:58
Speaker 19: and that kind.
49:58
Speaker 5: Of Now, now there is there is some as far
50:01
Speaker 5: as the NFL goes. I mean, there's just as many
50:04
Speaker 5: people that hate the chief And here's the thing about
50:05
Speaker 5: the Chiefs. Ten years ago. I knew one Kansas City
50:08
Speaker 5: Chief fan one ten years ago. This guy used to
50:11
Speaker 5: work with it or a radio station in Logan. Picked
50:13
Speaker 5: the Chiefs because no one else in his great school
50:15
Speaker 5: class like them. That's why he picked the Chiefs. And
50:18
Speaker 5: so Dana each step my buddy who lives in Huntings. Now, Dana,
50:21
Speaker 5: if you are listening, this has been a great run
50:23
Speaker 5: for you because you were literally, until ten years ago,
50:26
Speaker 5: the only Kansas City Chief.
50:27
Speaker 3: Fan I had ever met in my entire life. But
50:29
Speaker 3: now they're everywhere.
