- 0:01Mizrahi inspiration sheer number six when the Mizrahi movement
- 0:07was founded in the 1800s in order to help facilitate a state
- 0:12for the Jewish people. Because anti-Semitism had made
- 0:16it impossible for Jews to live in Europe, and that was the
- 0:18prevalent thinking amongst many in the Jewish world they were
- 0:22prepared to work with. Every Jew wasn't about measuring
- 0:27the level of observant, how righteous they are, which is
- 0:33really an outshoot of an outgrowth of an ideologies of
- 0:35philosophy that says that love towards all of mankind isn't an
- 0:40abstract ideal, but it's a mitzvah, and every mitzvah has
- 0:44numerous details and minutiae of how exactly to fulfill the
- 0:49particular command. Included in this general love is
- 0:52the love of all people, independent of their
- 0:55righteousness or their connection to the Jewish people.
- 1:00There's another example of Avraham's love for all mankind,
- 1:02of sweet your hood of Avra Musica Cohen, Cook's son, sat as
- 1:05follows. Teach us from the Torah famous
- 1:09narrative that a quarrel broke out between the shepherds of
- 1:14Avram and Lot. A conflict of opposites.
- 1:17Avram said a lot that there be no quarrel between me and you,
- 1:19not between my shepherds and yours.
- 1:22Avra wanted to rectify the problem between them.
- 1:25Separate yourself, he says. You will take to the left and I
- 1:28will go to the right. If you want to go to the right,
- 1:30I will go to the left. And Lot moved on to the wicked
- 1:33place of Saddam. But the people of Saddam says
- 1:36the Tara were very wicked and sinful before Hashem.
- 1:40The Tara tells us that Lot went E say the rabbis, and Rashi
- 1:45quotes it on his commentary. He took himself away from He,
- 1:50from me, from Hashem who preceded the world.
- 1:55Why was Hashem described as he who preceded the world?
- 2:00Lot separated himself from Hashem in contrast to Avraham
- 2:03who was connected to his creator, Lot said.
- 2:06I don't want to have a Shane Avraham Scott.
- 2:10Not interested in that back story in our days.
- 2:14What if we call someone who says he doesn't want to do anything
- 2:16with Hashem, call him a heretic? We label them.
- 2:19It's a heretic Co fairy, never it.
- 2:22In contrast to Avram who is connected and can bonded with to
- 2:25Hashem, Lot doesn't want that attachment.
- 2:30But in the course of time when Lot is kidnapped, Avram here
- 2:35that is his nephew is gone, has been taken away.
- 2:39His nephew is the unbeliever, the one who doesn't want
- 2:42anything to do with the God that he has sacrificed so much for.
- 2:47What does Avraham do? Straight away he launches the
- 2:50rescue mission. Avravino was a great educator,
- 2:54so the Travis clearly says, for I know that he will command his
- 2:57children and his household after and they will keep the way of
- 3:00Hashem. Avram is the one who educated
- 3:03mankind to recognize the Creator, to be Kadosh, to be
- 3:08holy, and to come close to Hashem.
- 3:11And in line with this he enlists his students in battle.
- 3:15This giant of spirit and of Emuna of faith reveals himself
- 3:19as a military commander who inducts his yeshiva students,
- 3:23the people who are studying about belief in God, into a war
- 3:26for the sake of who of sake of a heretic.
- 3:30He takes his people who are studying spiritual matters,
- 3:33living in this world of belief in God, to rescue a nonbeliever.
- 3:39Here, Abraham's great love for all mankind is revealed.
- 3:44A key to a true appreciation of of Svidya Hood's teaching was
- 3:49the awareness that he wasn't only talking about Avraham, he
- 3:52was speaking about us today, both in our individual lives and
- 3:55our lives as a nation. We have to always apply the
- 4:01Torah stories to ourselves. But this video was teaching us
- 4:04to understand ourselves and our time.
- 4:06We could guide our lives on the proper path of Torah.
- 4:09Our attitudes to the challenges of our time were to be learned
- 4:13from Avraham Avena. So let's not just study these
- 4:15stories in the Torah when we're children and we know them.
- 4:18Basically, what does it mean? He risked everything to rescue a
- 4:23heretic, to rescue someone who denied the very thing that was
- 4:26the center of his life. That is the case.
- 4:29Then we must extend our hands to every Jew.
- 4:32Never leave every Jew. Never ignore every single
- 4:35person. Not to rescue them, to bring
- 4:36them close and to stay connected.
- 4:38Have a wonderful day.
