- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome to the Guitar Jet Podcast, where you'll skyrocket your
- 0:03Speaker 1: knowledge of theory, techniques, and fundamentals for guitar. Welcome to
- 0:09Speaker 1: the Guitar Jet Podcast. I'm your host Miles and today
- 0:11Speaker 1: I'm going to be answering the question what is the
- 0:14Speaker 1: easiest way to play a C chord on the guitar?
- 0:17Speaker 1: And so I want you to think about the notes
- 0:19Speaker 1: in a C chord, CE and G and where can
- 0:23Speaker 1: you easily play the G note and the E note. Well,
- 0:26Speaker 1: you could play open G and open high E. And
- 0:28Speaker 1: now you need to incorporate the C note, which you
- 0:30Speaker 1: can play at the first threat of the B string,
- 0:33Speaker 1: so it gives you open G, first fret B and
- 0:35Speaker 1: open high E. This is the easiest way to play
- 0:38Speaker 1: a C chord on the guitar, and it's one of
- 0:40Speaker 1: the most popular ways for kids to learn how to
- 0:43Speaker 1: play a C chord on the guitar. Now, there are
- 0:45Speaker 1: only three notes in your C major triad, right, so
- 0:49Speaker 1: that means there are other easy ways to play the
- 0:51Speaker 1: C chord on the guitar. All you need to do
- 0:53Speaker 1: is find CE and G and play them in harmony. So,
- 0:57Speaker 1: for example, you could go to your eighth threat of
- 1:00Speaker 1: highe and place not a threat B and play the
- 1:04Speaker 1: G note and ninth threat of your G string and
- 1:07Speaker 1: play the E note that goot would give you G
- 1:11Speaker 1: nine and B eight and E eight. And that's another
- 1:15Speaker 1: common C major triad that's really easy to play. But
- 1:19Speaker 1: at the end of the day, your open C chord
- 1:22Speaker 1: is also very straightforward. And the first easy C shape
- 1:27Speaker 1: that I talked about is just a smaller version of
- 1:31Speaker 1: open C. When you play open C all, you're adding
- 1:35Speaker 1: to your G first thret B and open high E
- 1:39Speaker 1: is your second threat D and your third frat a right,
- 1:42Speaker 1: And that just adds more character and deeper notes to
- 1:46Speaker 1: your C chord. But long story short, the easy way,
- 1:50Speaker 1: the easiest way to play a C chord on the
- 1:52Speaker 1: guitar is open G first thret B and open highe.
