- 0:15To. Teach distinctions,
- 0:17possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring some
- 0:20joy. Into the world.
- 0:21So welcome to the coop and let's start your day off in a
- 0:24fantastic way. Hey everybody, good morning from
- 0:29the chicken coop. So today we're talking about how
- 0:33you make your path when you have big shifts taking place.
- 0:37And it's not the it's not something that you know, a lot
- 0:40of people, they think they have to know where they want to go.
- 0:43But what if you don't know where you want to go?
- 0:44What if you're just like in this very contemplative state about
- 0:48all the possibilities? What's the best thing that you
- 0:51can do for yourself? Well, here's I'm going to share
- 0:55with you the information that I shared with a client the other
- 0:58day because he and I got into a very deep discussion because he
- 1:02doesn't have to move. He doesn't have to do anything
- 1:04different, but he's bored. Like he just feels like, OK,
- 1:08it's Groundhog Day and I, I need something more.
- 1:13That was like the, the precipice of the whole jumping off point.
- 1:17And one of the things that when you start this process and you
- 1:20start to feel bored, you have to ask yourself, well, up until
- 1:25this point, have I really been using my creativity?
- 1:28And the answer is no. OK, I can guarantee you if
- 1:32you've been experiencing boredom, you're not using your
- 1:35creativity. Now, for those of you who don't
- 1:37believe you're creative, well, I'll say that's a crock.
- 1:40You are, it's not a question of if you are creative, you of
- 1:44course you are creative. It, it's a question of how is
- 1:47your creativity showing up? And sometimes it shows up in odd
- 1:51ways. And you know, therefore we shut
- 1:55it down because let's say, let's say this like if you're being
- 1:58creative and you're cooking and you're saying, well, I'm trying
- 2:01to lose weight, therefore I can't cook.
- 2:04We shut it down because we think we don't want to make things
- 2:07that are delicious. And I want to eat them because I
- 2:10like to, oh, I like to cook Italian food.
- 2:12Therefore, it leaves you out. Well, why don't use your
- 2:14creativity to cook Italian food, but make Italian food that's
- 2:17healthy? There's a, there's a thought in
- 2:19that, right? Try to reinvent the recipes.
- 2:21But sometimes as simple as that may sound as I say it, guess
- 2:25what, People don't think of that.
- 2:27They just kind of go through the motions and shut stuff down.
- 2:30And this is exactly what was going on in this case, because
- 2:34this person is incredibly creative in many, many ways.
- 2:37And one of the biggest ways is musically.
- 2:40But he had only been listening to music, not playing music or
- 2:43writing music or any of the above.
- 2:45Therefore there was this gap, there was a huge gap in how he
- 2:50was processing and he was not being creative.
- 2:53And that was where the hang up was coming in.
- 2:56So here, here. The interesting part of this
- 2:59whole, you know, discovery, if you will, of what we were going
- 3:04on was that he had so it's so much he could offer in so many
- 3:09different ways, but the reality was that he felt very frustrated
- 3:14with himself because he just kept focusing on the boredom.
- 3:18That's all he could see was the boredom, the boredom, the
- 3:20boredom, the boredom and saying, I don't know, I must have to do
- 3:22something different. I must have to be doing
- 3:24something different. And that was not the case at
- 3:27all. That was not the case at all.
- 3:29So here's here's a distinction for you to think about.
- 3:33Here's something that you can really dig into and think about
- 3:36is are you getting to the point where you feel bored during a
- 3:41day? Start like right from the
- 3:43morning? Are you bored with your morning
- 3:45routine? Well, I like my morning routines
- 3:47because I utilize them to get very centered.
- 3:49So boredom isn't part of it. Are there times throughout the
- 3:53day that I experience boredom? Rarely because I always have
- 3:58this creative mind going. And but I cultivated that I
- 4:02don't have to struggle with that.
- 4:03Like I'm always thinking about, oh, what can I do with the
- 4:05garden with this? Oh, where can I plant flowers
- 4:07with this? Oh, what can I make those, you
- 4:09know, those window boxes look like I'm always working on
- 4:14something like that and I just have it wired into me.
- 4:18But that didn't happen overnight, my friends.
- 4:20That was like a long standing process of me working on it.
- 4:23So I, I encourage you one to look at the spots where the
- 4:28boredom is coming in and then say, is this long standing?
- 4:33Is this something that I I recognize readily because I used
- 4:37to have the boredom? When I recognized it, then I was
- 4:39like, no, wait, I'm creative. I can come up with all these
- 4:42things and I conditioned myself to never have it.
- 4:45But boredom is actually a really good tool to give you the
- 4:48recognition of saying something has to change.
- 4:51So if you're experiencing the boredom, that's the first clue.
- 4:53The second thing is really looking at how you're pacing
- 4:57your day, your week, so that you see the waves of where it shows
- 5:01up and you can recognize like what is what are those little
- 5:05whispers of things you feel like doing to that pull you in?
- 5:09So if it's just sitting there and doom scrolling and looking
- 5:12on the phone, it shows up. That's a definite sign that
- 5:16something needs to be done because you can say it's
- 5:19entertainment, but for me it's boredom.
- 5:20It's like bubble gum. It's not giving you any
- 5:23nutrition, but it's letting your mouth chew.
- 5:25And it's important to remember. Look at that.
- 5:29And thirdly, when you start to feel like you're just doing the,
- 5:34the sigh all the time, that is a big sign that you have to go and
- 5:38look and say, OK, if this is taking place, I'm, I'm
- 5:42experiencing this boredom. I have to first before I do
- 5:45anything, figure out where that boredom is coming from, Where is
- 5:49the big piece of boredom? And then start to look at what's
- 5:53next. What's the thing that I can do
- 5:55next that's going to really help me move through that?
- 5:59And that besides identifying where it's coming from, the next
- 6:02step of that is really saying, OK, now that I know where it's
- 6:06coming from, what am I going to do about it?
- 6:08What's the thing that I want to do to counteract this?
- 6:11Because once you identify what you're going to do to counteract
- 6:14it, that really helps. And even if it's just, you know,
- 6:17sitting there and making the list of things you can do when
- 6:21you feel bored instead of what you've been doing or the things
- 6:24you've always wanted to do, it's progress.
- 6:26So start with that. All right, my friends, I hope
- 6:29you have a blessed day and I'll see you tomorrow.
- 6:31Bye.
