  Absolutely. We had a very warm beginning to

  straight. Recordly.

  Yeah, amazing. Boy, I don't mind a bit of

  warmth. But anyway, here we are.

  We are continuing through this section of the Proverbs where

  Solomon is speaking to his son, giving him all the specific
• 0:43
  advice, and we are going to just break this up verse by verse
• 0:48
  between the two of us. How's that?

  Yep, sounds like a great plan. Otherwise, this is very long
• 0:53
  sections to be reading one after the other.

  You're good, I'm good. All right, friends, let us dive

  in together, capturing a little bit of Solomon's wisdom from the

  past, directed to his son and directed to all of us wherever

  we are at this point in time and space.

  How fantastic as we read together Proverbs 2322 to 28.

  Listen to your father who gave you life and don't despise your
• 1:30
  mother when she is old. Get the truth and never sell it.

  Also get wisdom, discipline, and good judgement.

  The father of godly children has cause for joy.
• 1:42
  What a pleasure to have children who are wise.

  So give your father and mother joy.

  May she who gave you birth be happy.

  O my son, give me your heart. May your eyes take delight in

  following my ways. A prostitute is a dangerous

  trap. A promiscuous woman is as

  dangerous as falling into a narrow well.

  She hides and waits like a robber, eager to make more men

  unfaithful. And again.

  And if we do the thing that that each other hope for, then it it

  talks about giving us delight and giving us happiness.

  Do you know as a parent, it's really hard not to live your

  life through your children and feel that some of their choices
• 3:40
  reflect on yourself? There.

  Can be all sorts of letting go required, but yeah, I this is

  looking at it from the other way that it's possible for our
• 3:50
  children's actions to make us like to make their parents
• 3:53
  happy. Yeah, and I think we've often
• 3:56
  said you're only as happy as your least happy child.

  Absolutely. And you're also only as happy.

  Well, not only as happy, but. But getting to see your
• 4:06
  children, Yeah, grow in a way that's so fantastic is just such
• 4:10
  a wonderful happy thing. Oh.

  Just good for yourself. Oh Lord, thank you for family,
• 4:16
  thank you for relationships. Thank you for the choice that
• 4:20
  you give us to choose to follow you, to choose to take advice
• 4:24
  from those who are wise in our lives.
• 4:28
  Lord, bless us with relationships in our lives,
• 4:31
  whether it be parental relationships or mentoring
• 4:34
  relationships or wise friends that we have that we can learn
• 4:39
  from and follow and that in investing in these relationships
• 4:44
  we can bring each other joy and satisfaction and happiness.
• 4:50
  Lord, I pray that when we make these choices that that it may
• 4:53
  bring you joy as you see your children choosing to follow you
• 4:56
  and live according to your ways. We want to make you happy.

  We want to give back to you just a fraction of the incredible
• 5:07
  commitment and love and generosity that you have shown
• 5:10
  to us. So receive our lives as a gift
• 5:14
  and we offer ourselves to you as a sacrifice today and every day.
• 5:18
  And we pray this all in the the name of Jesus who you sacrificed
• 5:23
  for us. Amen.
