- 3:36Speaker 3: He might be having some technical difficulties trying to get in,
- 3:41Speaker 3: so I'm trying to send him back the link to
- 3:46Speaker 3: get back in. So just give me one minute, and
- 3:51Speaker 3: I apologize to my audience for this, just letting them
- 4:01Speaker 3: know what it was sent. But I'm so glad and
- 4:04Speaker 3: so very proud of you about all the work that
- 4:07Speaker 3: you're doing.
- 4:08Speaker 4: You know, I call you Auntie, you call me g
- 4:11Speaker 4: I call you Auntie.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Yes that's look. But everybody, I'm just so.
- 4:19Speaker 5: Proud of you.
- 4:20Speaker 3: I remember talking to you years ago and you were saying, no,
- 4:23Speaker 3: I'm not going to be an author, knob, and you
- 4:25Speaker 3: don't have one but two, but you got three books out,
- 4:28Speaker 3: three nominated to tell you the truth? What inspired you
- 4:34Speaker 3: to begin writing and sharing yourselves?
- 4:38Speaker 6: Well, you know, I think I spoke to you when
- 4:40Speaker 6: you did for your Eyes of Segnify, the book that
- 4:44Speaker 6: was on adoption, for the care and aging Out.
- 4:47Speaker 4: That's the first book.
- 4:49Speaker 6: And basically every time I would tell my story about
- 4:53Speaker 6: being adopted, everyone would say you need to write a book,
- 4:57Speaker 6: like you said, and I said, I'm not writing a book,
- 5:01Speaker 6: not writing a book. But in twenty twenty, twenty twenty four,
- 5:06Speaker 6: Kanya Latanya.
- 5:07Speaker 4: Hit me up and was like, we gotta we got
- 5:09Speaker 4: a book. Was putting together and dad and.
- 5:12Speaker 6: Now I had just come over a small vacation, was
- 5:14Speaker 6: feeling good. I was a black nursing so she called
- 5:17Speaker 6: me at a good time. The father knew when to catch.
- 5:18Speaker 4: Me because I said, okay, let's do that, all right,
- 5:22Speaker 4: all right?
- 5:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:23Speaker 4: Then I got off the phone with her and said,
- 5:25Speaker 4: what are we doing? Because we're doing this, because I'm
- 5:28Speaker 4: not doing this by myself. What we're doing? He said, no,
- 5:31Speaker 4: it's time for you to write.
- 5:32Speaker 6: So I wanted to write in honor my parents and
- 5:35Speaker 6: my foster mother who you know got me first, and
- 5:40Speaker 6: my parents who raised me. I wanted to tell the
- 5:42Speaker 6: story the way that would honor them.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Wow, and I guarantee you that they are so honest
- 5:50Speaker 3: until I'm just who'sing out with just being so proud?
- 5:57Speaker 2: Remember the moment? Do you remember the moment you realize
- 6:01Speaker 2: your story needed to be told?
- 6:06Speaker 6: Every time I would tell it, it was just like
- 6:08Speaker 6: somebody was like, you need to tell it, you need
- 6:09Speaker 6: to tell and I.
- 6:10Speaker 4: Was like, uh huh.
- 6:11Speaker 6: I think what held me from doing it is because
- 6:14Speaker 6: right now I'm currently in the process of getting a divorce,
- 6:17Speaker 6: and when Tanya hit me up, I was in that
- 6:20Speaker 6: process as well. So when the father said it was time,
- 6:24Speaker 6: it was time because I didn't really have anything else
- 6:26Speaker 6: to do. So it was like, Okay, it's time to
- 6:29Speaker 6: tell the story now. So other times were me taking
- 6:32Speaker 6: care of my ex and everything like that, trying to
- 6:35Speaker 6: be a wife. So now it was trying to take
- 6:38Speaker 6: care of me, he said, Father said, time to take
- 6:40Speaker 6: care of you. So that's when I knew, okay, it
- 6:43Speaker 6: was really time to start sharing my stories.
- 6:46Speaker 4: And when I finished the.
- 6:47Speaker 6: Four year eye segment, we were all, you know, breaking
- 6:51Speaker 6: out to write our own story.
- 6:52Speaker 4: So that began me right in mind.
- 6:57Speaker 3: I'm glad that you did. You're titled the Love It
- 7:00Speaker 3: Carries Me as powerful? What does that mean to you personally?
- 7:04Speaker 4: Oh my goodness.
- 7:06Speaker 6: When I thought of the title, when I was praying
- 7:08Speaker 6: on the title, I kept thinking about Michelle Obama's The
- 7:11Speaker 6: Life That Carries Us or Carries Me.
- 7:13Speaker 4: I think that's the title for her.
- 7:14Speaker 6: Book, and that always blessed me just to hear it.
- 7:18Speaker 6: And of course, you know, she's out forever first lady,
- 7:21Speaker 6: so that's just my face. So so hearing that title
- 7:26Speaker 6: that always stuck with me. But then as I began
- 7:28Speaker 6: to pray about it, I felt like the Lord was saying, well,
- 7:32Speaker 6: your name means love.
- 7:34Speaker 4: God is love.
- 7:36Speaker 6: So automatically, the Love that Carries Me became about yeah,
- 7:42Speaker 6: and that's what I was Godden.
- 7:47Speaker 3: I can see that all throughout you that you have.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Well, you didn't just Troy, you succeeded. You succeeded.
- 7:59Speaker 3: You have three books and one of them is being nominated,
- 8:02Speaker 3: and I got Tom encouraging everybody else to go and
- 8:05Speaker 3: vote as well.
- 8:05Speaker 4: Please please them, vote.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Please vote. So writing could be deeply personal. What was
- 8:12Speaker 3: the writing process like for.
- 8:13Speaker 6: You Cool, Well, there were definitely some ups and down moments.
- 8:20Speaker 6: Speaking about my doctor mom, she passed in ninety nine,
- 8:24Speaker 6: so when I got to that chapter, that was a
- 8:28Speaker 6: little rough because I still.
- 8:29Speaker 4: Miss her daily.
- 8:31Speaker 6: Then speaking about my doctor dad when he passed in
- 8:34Speaker 6: two thousand and six, that was rough.
- 8:37Speaker 4: And then having to speak about my foster mother who
- 8:40Speaker 4: passed in twenty twenty.
- 8:43Speaker 6: Five, No, twenty twenty, I'm sorry, twenty twenty one, twenty
- 8:52Speaker 6: twenty one, she passed, And so all of those chapters
- 8:57Speaker 6: after I was doing it, it took a toll for
- 8:59Speaker 6: a little. I had to kind of get together because
- 9:02Speaker 6: they were just so it was so emotional.
- 9:05Speaker 4: I just missed them daily. I missed them daily, and
- 9:08Speaker 4: I just wish.
- 9:10Speaker 6: They would be here to see all that is being
- 9:13Speaker 6: that's going on right now in my life.
- 9:15Speaker 4: But yeah, it was. It was definitely an interesting process,
- 9:19Speaker 4: but it also was very therapeutic because I didn't know.
- 9:24Speaker 4: I didn't know I would feel the way I felt
- 9:26Speaker 4: when I began to write about them until I did.
- 9:29Speaker 2: It can be very very emotional.
- 9:34Speaker 3: Was there a moment or a chapter that was especially
- 9:36Speaker 3: difficult to write?
- 9:37Speaker 4: Now?
- 9:38Speaker 3: I know that you said that the process and everything
- 9:40Speaker 3: was a little emotional for you, But was there a
- 9:43Speaker 3: chapter or some moment that you may have had that
- 9:46Speaker 3: was especially difficult for you to write?
- 9:50Speaker 6: You mean, one minute, I meant to bring this up
- 9:53Speaker 6: when I was thinking about it, because it definitely was.
- 9:57Speaker 4: A chapter that was really kind of like rough. It
- 10:00Speaker 4: was a rough.
- 10:01Speaker 3: Chapter and it's too difficult for you, don't no, no,
- 10:05Speaker 3: no no, It was fine, no, fine.
- 10:08Speaker 4: It's already out here in the free so might as
- 10:10Speaker 4: well tell as well. I believe I would say the
- 10:16Speaker 4: chapter that, let's say, chapter two, I believe it is, uh.
- 10:27Speaker 6: No, chapter three, learning to Find My Way, and that
- 10:31Speaker 6: spoke the first time about my mom. I I mean, ah,
- 10:37Speaker 6: you know, you know, I'm from New York, but we
- 10:39Speaker 6: moved to Virginia.
- 10:40Speaker 4: So the area that I mean doesn't really have very
- 10:43Speaker 4: nation disabled, but it disabled.
- 10:46Speaker 6: So I was offered to go to a vocational school
- 10:50Speaker 6: and my mom was in the nursing home at the time,
- 10:54Speaker 6: and the anty breeze is what I wanted to breathe.
- 10:57Speaker 6: I didn't want to do nothing, but I heard I
- 10:59Speaker 6: didn't wanted to want to move or toil.
- 11:00Speaker 4: She said I can move. And so when I got
- 11:05Speaker 4: offered to go, he immediately said you need to go.
- 11:08Speaker 6: And in my in my spirit, I felt like she
- 11:11Speaker 6: was not gonna make it. I was not gonna see
- 11:13Speaker 6: her very much longer. And when I got there, probably
- 11:19Speaker 6: about two months into me being there, I had a
- 11:23Speaker 6: dream she had passed. And so it was like yad
- 11:26Speaker 6: was preparing me.
- 11:28Speaker 4: For what to happen. Now mind you didn't have to
- 11:31Speaker 4: for like six months later, but it was like y'all
- 11:33Speaker 4: was preparing.
- 11:33Speaker 6: But when I had to dream, it scared me so bad.
- 11:36Speaker 6: I called her the next thing.
- 11:37Speaker 4: It was like, are you okay? Everything all right? And
- 11:39Speaker 4: it just kind of it broke me.
- 11:41Speaker 6: So that chapter was this chapter that started the emotional
- 11:45Speaker 6: roller coaster ride. Yeah, learning to find my way because
- 11:51Speaker 6: she was my everything.
- 11:52Speaker 4: She was my cheerleader. Yeah, yeah, was my everything I can.
- 11:59Speaker 3: Yeah, imagine, and I appreciate you giving me your perspective.
- 12:04Speaker 3: Oh yeah, difficult. You touched on something important. So let's
- 12:09Speaker 3: go a little deeper. Was there moment that you wanted to.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Quit right this? Yeah?
- 12:20Speaker 4: No, because why does?
- 12:21Speaker 6: Latari and Savida would not let me. They was not
- 12:28Speaker 6: having any of that. Quit what now and take a break.
- 12:32Speaker 6: But no, we're not doing that. And then I just know,
- 12:35Speaker 6: I don't think quitting was an option. I just knew
- 12:38Speaker 6: I needed to pull back. I actually intended for the
- 12:40Speaker 6: boy to come out last year, so it was a
- 12:43Speaker 6: lot of me trying to pace myself, and Tavida would
- 12:47Speaker 6: encourage me to not rush the situation. Let God, you know,
- 12:51Speaker 6: leave you on what you need to do, how you
- 12:52Speaker 6: need to do it, you know when you need to
- 12:54Speaker 6: do it. So I'm thankful for her. I am truly
- 12:57Speaker 6: thankful for her and her guidance because there wasn't a
- 13:00Speaker 6: a moment of quitting because God and those.
- 13:02Speaker 4: Two will not let me quit. Oh that was not
- 13:05Speaker 4: even an option.
- 13:06Speaker 6: But no, because I know I knew I needed to
- 13:09Speaker 6: finally get out when God said there was time, I
- 13:11Speaker 6: didn't really have much of retort. She don't understand that
- 13:14Speaker 6: this is not my decision, this is God, this is
- 13:16Speaker 6: this is our book.
- 13:18Speaker 4: It's me and the father's book. This ain't my book.
- 13:20Speaker 2: I'm well, we got you there looking right now, and
- 13:26Speaker 2: she's saying, of course not.
- 13:27Speaker 3: You had to finish sharing your testimony. Thank you for that,
- 13:30Speaker 3: and I'm so glad that you were there. Ask her
- 13:32Speaker 3: backbone to tell to get it started. I think we
- 13:36Speaker 3: have Hezekia that's to the queen, and he's trying to
- 13:39Speaker 3: trying to get on. I see him trying to get on,
- 13:41Speaker 3: So we're hoping that we can get him in as
- 13:43Speaker 3: soon as possible, because I definitely asked some questions for
- 13:46Speaker 3: oh you are okay good. I'm so glad that you
- 13:48Speaker 3: finally made it. Mister You're so bad gonna busy that
- 13:51Speaker 3: I don't even know what to do with him anymore.
- 13:54Speaker 3: I really don't. And I was just saying how proud
- 13:57Speaker 3: I am of you being one of the nominees for
- 14:01Speaker 3: the Black Authors Association Black Authors Awards.
- 14:07Speaker 4: You.
- 14:07Speaker 5: It's just so.
- 14:08Speaker 3: Nice to have you. And it's been a minute since
- 14:10Speaker 3: I've seen it, spoken to you. We've been texting it,
- 14:13Speaker 3: but it's good.
- 14:14Speaker 2: To see you. It's the busy man.
- 14:17Speaker 5: Yeah, I asked.
- 14:20Speaker 3: I asked DD earlier, and I'm gonna ask you the
- 14:23Speaker 3: same questions. What inspired you to begin writing and sharing
- 14:25Speaker 3: your stories? You've written so many stories that I can't
- 14:28Speaker 3: even keep up with you.
- 14:31Speaker 5: Man.
- 14:34Speaker 7: I think it was about it was about ten years ago.
- 14:37Speaker 7: I was actually in courts, right. I mean, I always
- 14:41Speaker 7: read books, and I used to get a lot out
- 14:44Speaker 7: of reading books, and I never thought about becoming up.
- 14:48Speaker 7: And that was like the father's thing from my mind.
- 14:50Speaker 7: I was still to me, I was still young. I'm
- 14:53Speaker 7: trying to live my life. I didn't even want to
- 14:55Speaker 7: slow down one bit think about writing a book. And
- 15:00Speaker 7: I ended up incarcerating. So God set me down and
- 15:04Speaker 7: that's when I started writing. And then when I got out,
- 15:07Speaker 7: I was like, dang, now I got to find somebody
- 15:12Speaker 7: to publish it. Now I got to find somebody who's
- 15:15Speaker 7: going to be interested in reading my story. So what
- 15:17Speaker 7: I did. I got a day label job. I was
- 15:19Speaker 7: making forty five dollars a day, and I paid to
- 15:23Speaker 7: get my book published. I paid to get a copywriter.
- 15:27Speaker 7: And that was my first book. And I was sitting there,
- 15:29Speaker 7: sitting at home. I was like, so why would I
- 15:32Speaker 7: write a book and don't do nothing with it. I
- 15:36Speaker 7: already did the hard part, and I was at work
- 15:39Speaker 7: and I was like, man, I am so tired of
- 15:42Speaker 7: coming out here, working myself to death, and I got
- 15:45Speaker 7: this little book right here, and I just wanted to
- 15:49Speaker 7: change in my life.
- 15:49Speaker 5: You know.
- 15:50Speaker 7: I just got tired of hanging with the fellas every day,
- 15:52Speaker 7: sitting up under the tree, drinking the beer and smoking
- 15:55Speaker 7: cigarettes all day, and then that's the next thing you're
- 15:58Speaker 7: going to do for the rest of your life every day.
- 16:00Speaker 5: I said, this ain't me. So I just woke up
- 16:03Speaker 5: one morning and.
- 16:04Speaker 7: I was like, I'm going to New York cause I
- 16:06Speaker 7: got some cousins that live in Brooklyn. I was like,
- 16:09Speaker 7: I'm going to New York. I'm gonna see how far
- 16:11Speaker 7: I can take this little book. Well, on my way there,
- 16:14Speaker 7: I stopped in Philly. So I was living in Philadelphia
- 16:17Speaker 7: and this guy said, well, you're.
- 16:19Speaker 5: Thinking about publishing the novel book. I was like, nah,
- 16:22Speaker 5: I ain't write no more.
- 16:24Speaker 7: And then I was like, you know what I think
- 16:27Speaker 7: I do got a novel store, and so I started
- 16:30Speaker 7: writing and.
- 16:32Speaker 5: I said, well, I need some book signing. I ain't
- 16:34Speaker 5: even I got this book, and I ain't doing.
- 16:35Speaker 7: Nothing with it. So I called called Howard University. I
- 16:40Speaker 7: called Columbia University. They was like, yeah, come on up here,
- 16:45Speaker 7: we'll do a book signing with you. And once I
- 16:47Speaker 7: started doing the book signing, that's when the excitement started
- 16:50Speaker 7: coming in because it's like, even if you don't say
- 16:53Speaker 7: one book, it said she on that college campus, and
- 16:56Speaker 7: you just.
- 16:58Speaker 5: You're the main focus that God up to day, you
- 17:01Speaker 5: know what I mean.
- 17:02Speaker 7: And it's it made you feel so good that you're
- 17:04Speaker 7: actually doing something positive instead of negative. You actually give
- 17:08Speaker 7: it back to the community, you know, And that was
- 17:12Speaker 7: one thing.
- 17:16Speaker 3: Your books is so extensive. What message connects to all
- 17:20Speaker 3: of your work?
- 17:23Speaker 7: Shoot just be an experiment and how God can bring
- 17:27Speaker 7: you out of certain situations, you know, And all my
- 17:30Speaker 7: book I talk about God, even though they might be romanic,
- 17:33Speaker 7: romance books or whatever, but I always talk about God
- 17:37Speaker 7: and how He comes and saves us at a time
- 17:39Speaker 7: or we don't think he's there, you.
- 17:41Speaker 5: Know, and just being vigilant in what you do.
- 17:44Speaker 7: And just keep pushing, believe in yourself, believe believe that
- 17:48Speaker 7: you can do it.
- 17:49Speaker 5: You know.
- 17:50Speaker 7: When I first started writing my book and I left home,
- 17:52Speaker 7: everybody was like Oh, you're going to be a failure.
- 17:54Speaker 5: You're not going to do it. You can't do it.
- 17:56Speaker 7: You just want to be rich. You want to do
- 17:58Speaker 7: this and you want to do that. Well maybe so,
- 18:01Speaker 7: But I did it. I didn't tell them, didn't nobody
- 18:04Speaker 7: tell me I couldn't do it.
- 18:06Speaker 5: And you know, still the day.
- 18:11Speaker 3: There fans out there. You got Travita saying that God
- 18:16Speaker 3: will definitely do it, our producers in the back saying, hey, easy, right,
- 18:22Speaker 3: so then here we go. We hear so much and
- 18:26Speaker 3: restoring hanzakaya me and only me. What does restoration mean
- 18:30Speaker 3: to you?
- 18:32Speaker 5: Come man? Just for me, it means restoring myself too.
- 18:39Speaker 7: Before I started going that right way, you know what
- 18:45Speaker 7: I'm saying, Before I started going the wrong way, before
- 18:47Speaker 7: I started listening what everybody was telling me, before I
- 18:51Speaker 7: started doing all kinds of crazy stuff, like started listening
- 18:55Speaker 7: to the voice in my head God.
- 18:57Speaker 5: Saying who are you?
- 18:59Speaker 7: And listen to my grandmother's voice before she passed away.
- 19:02Speaker 7: She used to always tell her you got this, You're
- 19:05Speaker 7: so smart. Why don't you do this? And myself is
- 19:09Speaker 7: very storm. It's all in my spirits, all my respect,
- 19:11Speaker 7: my my relationship with God. Because when we you know,
- 19:15Speaker 7: when you get out there, you we try to put
- 19:17Speaker 7: God on the back burny and we try to go
- 19:21Speaker 7: through life on our own device to trying to.
- 19:24Speaker 5: Do it our way.
- 19:25Speaker 7: But you know, we always got to focus on the
- 19:28Speaker 7: spiritual side of ourselves.
- 19:29Speaker 5: Because we lose our spiritual we have nothing.
- 19:32Speaker 7: And when I mean we're storing, I mean I was
- 19:34Speaker 7: spiritually dead, but now it was a woke, you know.
- 19:38Speaker 5: And that's trying to be the best person I could do.
- 19:40Speaker 7: I'm not nobody's gonna be perfect, but just trying to
- 19:43Speaker 7: be do the next best right thing.
- 19:46Speaker 3: I want to get a DT's perspective on her story.
- 19:50Speaker 3: Your story reflects resilience? What help you keep going during
- 19:53Speaker 3: difficult times?
- 20:02Speaker 2: You still what is d D? I think we may
- 20:05Speaker 2: have lost it?
- 20:06Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, great, because I thought you on the screen,
- 20:09Speaker 3: so I was asking you your story reflects resilience? What
- 20:12Speaker 3: help you keep going during difficult times?
- 20:23Speaker 6: I mean there were moments when I was told I
- 20:27Speaker 6: wouldn't be anything, I wouldn't be able to do anything,
- 20:30Speaker 6: but God got the final face, so and all of that.
- 20:32Speaker 4: So and my parents are the ones that spoke over
- 20:35Speaker 4: my life. Everything that I am doing and can do.
- 20:39Speaker 4: So it's God. I'm led by faith.
- 20:44Speaker 3: He walks us into it, he walks us into and
- 20:47Speaker 3: the just never wrong. You can't go room with God.
- 20:51Speaker 3: The player in me explores, and men the player and
- 20:54Speaker 3: me explores relationships.
- 20:57Speaker 2: What did you want need this to learn from that.
- 21:02Speaker 5: Man?
- 21:04Speaker 7: See that that's a that's a funny concept right there,
- 21:06Speaker 7: because you know, this character he's going through a he's
- 21:09Speaker 7: going through a malllight prices and he's got a whole
- 21:12Speaker 7: lot on his plate.
- 21:13Speaker 5: He got these three women he's dealing with.
- 21:15Speaker 7: One he is in love with, but she he don't
- 21:18Speaker 7: know how she feels about him. So he's just going
- 21:21Speaker 7: along and he's playing them old. But he has a
- 21:23Speaker 7: conscience too at the same time, because he don't.
- 21:26Speaker 5: Want to neither one of our feelings, you know.
- 21:28Speaker 7: And that's some of the things that we go through
- 21:30Speaker 7: a life. You know, it's a single man. You know,
- 21:32Speaker 7: you got all these options, all these choices, and you like.
- 21:36Speaker 3: So we're talking from personal experience. I'm gonna put you
- 21:39Speaker 3: out there right about now because you're not messed.
- 21:40Speaker 5: Up now puntional experience.
- 21:45Speaker 3: See now, you don't just have to play every one
- 21:47Speaker 3: he got it into as well.
- 21:50Speaker 2: You're gonna get your selling in trouble for this one.
- 21:55Speaker 7: Conscious at the end of the day, because we feel like, okay,
- 21:58Speaker 7: we're single. We just we're just going along doing what
- 22:01Speaker 7: we doing what men do, and and you end up
- 22:05Speaker 7: getting caught up it never it never works.
- 22:10Speaker 5: What goes away.
- 22:11Speaker 3: I'm that again, you should say, because we hope we
- 22:14Speaker 3: got some young men listening and letting them know that
- 22:16Speaker 3: it don't work. No, don't but it's not working. He's
- 22:20Speaker 3: telling himself because he's gonna book one and two.
- 22:26Speaker 5: It's like a full time job.
- 22:29Speaker 2: See, he's trying to tell you.
- 22:32Speaker 3: You know what, I'm not going to say that it's
- 22:35Speaker 3: just to make the women do it too.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Women trying to get caught up in it and thinking
- 22:40Speaker 2: that they can do it too. So it's not just
- 22:42Speaker 2: on you.
- 22:43Speaker 3: It's but you know, I'm not saying it from experience,
- 22:47Speaker 3: just saying, yeah, that the women do it, not all women.
- 22:52Speaker 2: So will help you out there, not all women, not.
- 22:54Speaker 5: All You know what about book?
- 23:00Speaker 7: You get to you get to use your auter eagle
- 23:03Speaker 7: and all these characters in your head and all that,
- 23:07Speaker 7: you know when people say, oh you crazy, but you
- 23:09Speaker 7: get to put all that craziness in the books and.
- 23:13Speaker 2: It takes you to.
- 23:14Speaker 7: A novel place and you know, you know the funniest thing.
- 23:17Speaker 7: I never really read my book after I publish it.
- 23:21Speaker 5: But that because I'm like, because, but you know what's
- 23:28Speaker 5: so funny.
- 23:29Speaker 7: I would go back and I would that's I'd be like,
- 23:32Speaker 7: let me see what this book about.
- 23:33Speaker 5: That out of row and I would read it and
- 23:35Speaker 5: I'd be like, boy, you son, now you made it.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Just do you do you go back read your books.
- 23:46Speaker 6: I've tried to do that and I just can't see
- 23:48Speaker 6: the No, I can't really do it. I think I
- 23:51Speaker 6: did a chapter, but no, I really can't.
- 23:54Speaker 4: I can't.
- 23:55Speaker 6: I just let it be out there the way God.
- 24:04Speaker 7: I was doing this. I went back and read my
- 24:09Speaker 7: first book. I was reading a couple of pages, and
- 24:11Speaker 7: I was seeing to where.
- 24:13Speaker 5: I am at now. I'm like, wow, man, really a
- 24:18Speaker 5: long way.
- 24:21Speaker 7: It's just now I can write stories, different stories. Now
- 24:25Speaker 7: I know how to publish my own books, thank you, Angela.
- 24:29Speaker 7: I know how to do everything on my own publisher.
- 24:34Speaker 7: And the hardest part is when you are trying to
- 24:38Speaker 7: help somebody after they didn't got somebody to do bad work,
- 24:44Speaker 7: and then they want you to come fix it. But
- 24:46Speaker 7: they don't want to pay you to fix that work.
- 24:48Speaker 7: You're like, man, but you know, for me, it's not
- 24:51Speaker 7: even about the money. Like I help people, and I
- 24:54Speaker 7: be like, look, I'm gonna do this for you, and
- 24:57Speaker 7: I already know, excuse me, I already know.
- 25:01Speaker 5: I'm you're supposed to charge it all. But for me,
- 25:04Speaker 5: it's like I enjoyed doing what I do.
- 25:09Speaker 7: That's me giving back sometimes, you know, it's not everybody
- 25:12Speaker 7: got it. And in this today's society with people their selfish,
- 25:17Speaker 7: I'm trying to be unselfish.
- 25:19Speaker 3: M hmm, yeah, thank you so much for that. We're
- 25:23Speaker 3: gonna take a break real quick. But you guys got
- 25:26Speaker 3: some friends that's lightening up the side of this. Patrisa
- 25:29Speaker 3: saying that she's scared to read the next one, scaring.
- 25:37Speaker 2: People out there and whatnot.
- 25:39Speaker 3: And then we got our producer who was saying that
- 25:41Speaker 3: she says, love your little brother. We got she's saying, right,
- 25:45Speaker 3: she's agreeing with you. Patersa is calling you a player.
- 25:48Speaker 3: So see I'm not the only one that Knowice. So today,
- 25:52Speaker 3: well we're gonna cut into this commercial right now and
- 25:55Speaker 3: we're gonna be right back with DEDI and with Hezekiah,
- 26:00Speaker 3: and we're gonna continue this fun feel conversation with these
- 26:03Speaker 3: I'm gonna claim it award winning authors and then we
- 26:06Speaker 3: having technical difficulties with it, We're gonna just keep it
- 26:10Speaker 3: rolling because I know that mister busy here he has
- 26:13Speaker 3: to go. He's just gonna leave us, probably flying out
- 26:16Speaker 3: on his private jet or something, because I know that's coming.
- 26:19Speaker 3: And just like I was telling d D, I'm just
- 26:21Speaker 3: so proud of both of you. I want to shift
- 26:25Speaker 3: us some slightly because this is important.
- 26:28Speaker 2: We hear the word healing a lot.
- 26:30Speaker 3: What does that really mean for both of you on
- 26:33Speaker 3: the day to day level?
- 26:35Speaker 2: DD?
- 26:38Speaker 4: Healing, Ah, it takes prayer. You gotta pray on it.
- 26:44Speaker 6: You gotta ask God to do it, because healing is
- 26:47Speaker 6: not something that you can just do yourself. You've got
- 26:50Speaker 6: to let the Father work work on you and you
- 26:53Speaker 6: through you. And it's a daily process.
- 26:56Speaker 4: It's daily. So that's that's the way I feel about it.
- 27:00Speaker 5: MS oh Man.
- 27:05Speaker 7: For me, who it takes some time because I don't
- 27:10Speaker 7: I don't know if you ever really truly heal.
- 27:14Speaker 5: You just grow through it and you just go through it,
- 27:17Speaker 5: you know what I mean.
- 27:18Speaker 7: And it's because I don't think you ever heal, because
- 27:23Speaker 7: it's still always gonna be a part of you that's
- 27:26Speaker 7: gonna feel that pain.
- 27:28Speaker 5: And it's some of the things that I've been as
- 27:30Speaker 5: a child.
- 27:32Speaker 7: And I can still deal with my family, and I
- 27:35Speaker 7: still revert back to where I went to that pain,
- 27:39Speaker 7: and I have to tell myself, like, don't set myself
- 27:43Speaker 7: up to go through no more pain, you know, because
- 27:48Speaker 7: I can.
- 27:49Speaker 5: We can.
- 27:49Speaker 7: We can sabotize our own heal healing by keep allowing
- 27:55Speaker 7: people to getting pain. If you already know what you see,
- 27:59Speaker 7: what you're gonn or to get coming, we're just setting
- 28:02Speaker 7: ourself up.
- 28:02Speaker 5: I know.
- 28:03Speaker 7: I used to deal with a lot of me. Like
- 28:06Speaker 7: we always talk about your females. If you know you're
- 28:08Speaker 7: gonna get some pain, why you keep going back back
- 28:11Speaker 7: to it. So for me, the process of my healing,
- 28:14Speaker 7: it is that sometimes I have to just separate and
- 28:18Speaker 7: just seclude myself just be able to walk with me
- 28:21Speaker 7: and God, Okay, God, what steps should I take?
- 28:25Speaker 5: How should I move? How should I be the best
- 28:27Speaker 5: person that I could be?
- 28:29Speaker 7: How can I not depend on that person or need
- 28:31Speaker 7: that person if I know I'm gonna still be going
- 28:33Speaker 7: through pain, or like when my grandmother pas. I still
- 28:36Speaker 7: feel that pain and I still hold the pain is just.
- 28:39Speaker 2: Different every day.
- 28:40Speaker 3: With the pain you went through yesterday, it's going to
- 28:44Speaker 3: be different than the pain that you're feeling today and
- 28:47Speaker 3: tomorrow it's going to be different as well.
- 28:49Speaker 2: The relationships, whether with others.
- 28:51Speaker 3: Or yourself, shape the journey that that you take when
- 28:54Speaker 3: you write your books.
- 28:57Speaker 6: Hm, wow, wow, I was gonna take you there that.
- 29:12Speaker 2: We were gonna talk about the birds and we.
- 29:14Speaker 4: Have that one like wait a minute, think what okay?
- 29:19Speaker 4: The question.
- 29:23Speaker 3: How the relationships, whether with others or yourself, shape the
- 29:27Speaker 3: journey you write about.
- 29:30Speaker 4: Well, I will say that it all depends on who
- 29:36Speaker 4: you have in your corner.
- 29:37Speaker 6: You got to make sure you have the right people
- 29:39Speaker 6: in your corner that's gonna support you, that's gonna encourage you,
- 29:42Speaker 6: that's gonna be there for you.
- 29:44Speaker 4: Now, I have had.
- 29:47Speaker 6: Some interesting people to be to be by my side,
- 29:52Speaker 6: and it's definitely going in another direction that I didn't
- 29:55Speaker 6: plan for it, but God saw good the way it
- 29:57Speaker 6: needs to go. So but like I said, I Tavita,
- 30:00Speaker 6: I had my best friends, I had Latanya, so I
- 30:04Speaker 6: had I have the support system I'm supposed to have.
- 30:07Speaker 6: So God hears you who you're supposed to have relationship
- 30:10Speaker 6: wise regardless. Now if you're talking about like has a
- 30:14Speaker 6: kid with the women in the dating, I ain't dating.
- 30:16Speaker 6: So I'm just getting out of the door the boss auntie. Okay,
- 30:22Speaker 6: want to see now, don't.
- 30:24Speaker 2: Try to steal her stuff.
- 30:26Speaker 5: They make me mess.
- 30:31Speaker 3: I want to hear from you. How how does that
- 30:33Speaker 3: work for you? How do whether with others or yourself,
- 30:37Speaker 3: shape the journey you write about?
- 30:39Speaker 7: They helped me write all my books. As soon as
- 30:44Speaker 7: that was they'd be like, you're gonna put me in
- 30:46Speaker 7: that next book.
- 30:52Speaker 2: See that's why you stayed in so much trouble all
- 30:54Speaker 2: the time? Has a can you know what?
- 30:58Speaker 3: I just wish I was the the that in the
- 31:00Speaker 3: room to figure out how you're gonna get out out
- 31:02Speaker 3: of it tonight, because you know you're gonna get into trouble.
- 31:05Speaker 2: And whoever it is, look watch out.
- 31:10Speaker 4: That don't right me.
- 31:11Speaker 2: That's all, that's all him, That is all Hazakaya.
- 31:15Speaker 3: We're having a powerful conversation tonight with two incredible authors,
- 31:19Speaker 3: and what stands out is how both of your journeys,
- 31:22Speaker 3: all though different, reflect resilience, growth and purpose.
- 31:26Speaker 2: Who do you hope your books reach the most.
- 31:31Speaker 4: You can go first, sir, he's.
- 31:35Speaker 2: Still trying to figure out how he's gonna save himself
- 31:37Speaker 2: later on, I.
- 31:39Speaker 6: Guess I gotta go there.
- 31:44Speaker 3: Just got somebody saying he never want to change, but
- 31:46Speaker 3: you gotta love him. You can't help but love him.
- 31:48Speaker 3: And this is our producer saying that you can't help
- 31:50Speaker 3: but love him. We're gonna have a lot of trouble, yes,
- 31:56Speaker 3: because he just popped offline. I don't know whether he
- 31:58Speaker 3: was janked kline, So I'm gonna leave that one alone.
- 32:03Speaker 3: I'm gonna let him try to deal with that one
- 32:05Speaker 3: on his own.
- 32:07Speaker 2: He survived, He's gonna survive tonight.
- 32:09Speaker 6: Yes, I didn't know this was gonna be this much time.
- 32:14Speaker 4: Okay, wow, but okay. Who do I want the books
- 32:20Speaker 4: to read?
- 32:21Speaker 6: Mainly I want the books to read those who have
- 32:24Speaker 6: been adopted for one, those who want to adopt, who
- 32:29Speaker 6: are looking to adopt, and most definitely those who want
- 32:32Speaker 6: to adopt special needs children, because those are the ones
- 32:36Speaker 6: that the doctors give the bad reports on.
- 32:40Speaker 4: They're not gonna be able to do nothing, They're not
- 32:42Speaker 4: gonna be able to be anything.
- 32:43Speaker 6: So I want this to encourage parents that don't listen
- 32:47Speaker 6: to the doctors. The doctors, yeah, they know what they know,
- 32:50Speaker 6: but but God knows what you know. And so I
- 32:53Speaker 6: want that to encourage them. And I just wanted to
- 32:55Speaker 6: encourage others in general just to hold on to God
- 32:59Speaker 6: to let's the love carry you.
- 33:02Speaker 4: Let it carry you.
- 33:05Speaker 3: I'm sitting there and giving me a crack up because
- 33:06Speaker 3: he's back behind state, so he's gonna dig himself into it.
- 33:12Speaker 3: So he I'm quite sure he did his apologies and
- 33:14Speaker 3: got off and said I'm sorry. You know, baby, that's
- 33:17Speaker 3: gonna be on him. That's gonna be on him. He
- 33:20Speaker 3: could say, baby, I'm sorry, but this is just for
- 33:21Speaker 3: the show. No, it ain't just for the show. That
- 33:24Speaker 3: that's that has a kaya for you. So you're not
- 33:26Speaker 3: gonna use me to get out of your mess tonight.
- 33:28Speaker 2: He has the caya that when you should have.
- 33:31Speaker 3: Just said, look, I'm not even gonna adswer that next.
- 33:35Speaker 3: You could have did that, it would have been okay.
- 33:37Speaker 3: I wouldn't have said anything about it. I would laugh
- 33:39Speaker 3: behind your back.
- 33:40Speaker 2: But that's fine.
- 33:42Speaker 3: See, they just keep yanking him back and forth, and
- 33:43Speaker 3: that that's what has I feel for you. I feel
- 33:48Speaker 3: for you. Let's take this a step further. What has
- 33:50Speaker 3: been the most meaningful response you received from a reader?
- 33:57Speaker 3: Look at this, Patria said, Wait a minute, Patrisa saying
- 33:59Speaker 3: someone foullow this in personal report. One of those ladies
- 34:02Speaker 3: got to him. Yeah, they getting to him. That's sad.
- 34:06Speaker 2: Oh he's saying. Hey, he's saying that, who's.
- 34:11Speaker 4: More than one? And I'm trying to help you.
- 34:14Speaker 2: But you keep digging yourself deeper.
- 34:16Speaker 3: Yeah, all you have to do is say someone listening,
- 34:19Speaker 3: but you're not even saying just making it worse for yourself.
- 34:27Speaker 2: As a car. I'm trying to help you, brother.
- 34:31Speaker 3: Everything else, because that's not you're talking too much on here.
- 34:36Speaker 3: You're talking to Tary too.
- 34:37Speaker 5: Much for him.
- 34:38Speaker 2: Look today, he's still going at it.
- 34:46Speaker 3: He's got he must have some plans to be someplace
- 34:49Speaker 3: house because I gotta feeling somebody's guy.
- 34:52Speaker 2: And now we don't promote violence on it, but guy,
- 34:54Speaker 2: you gotta come.
- 34:58Speaker 3: You got it coming, And I'm it's gonna say, is
- 35:00Speaker 3: that you should have been before you got on here. Besides,
- 35:07Speaker 3: besides of people that I'm thinking about, who do you
- 35:10Speaker 3: hope your books reach the most tonight?
- 35:12Speaker 2: As a kaya?
- 35:16Speaker 5: For me, it's the it's a young adults.
- 35:20Speaker 7: It's like, you know, it's trying to teach them a lesson,
- 35:23Speaker 7: you know, try to get him going in the right
- 35:25Speaker 7: way and follow the directions that we we are trying
- 35:28Speaker 7: to lead them.
- 35:30Speaker 5: And basically my books, it's a good story.
- 35:32Speaker 8: It takes you to a place where he's like, man,
- 35:35Speaker 8: this thing is, it's nice, it's authentic, and it's always
- 35:38Speaker 8: teaching you a lesson and it's trying to bring you
- 35:40Speaker 8: close to God to at the same time, even though it's.
- 35:44Speaker 7: Crazy as I don't know what, but you know, God
- 35:46Speaker 7: likes crazy. He don't like everybody to be the same.
- 35:49Speaker 7: He gets his word in there way.
- 35:54Speaker 3: So for the both of you, how is becoming an
- 35:56Speaker 3: author changed? How you see your own story that.
- 36:05Speaker 4: You got off.
- 36:12Speaker 3: Always Ben say, he's always doing something.
- 36:15Speaker 2: See that don't make no sense.
- 36:20Speaker 4: That I don't know you like that. That's just sad,
- 36:26Speaker 4: it is.
- 36:26Speaker 3: It's it's a shame. We laughing so hard, your hands
- 36:29Speaker 3: a car. We could barely get through the questions here.
- 36:32Speaker 2: See.
- 36:32Speaker 3: And it's not even about him trying to evade the
- 36:35Speaker 3: responsibilities of trying to answer, just that he's trying.
- 36:38Speaker 2: To think of what am I gonna say when this
- 36:40Speaker 2: is over.
- 36:43Speaker 4: A smart response say you.
- 36:46Speaker 3: Better say something has some flowers, candy, something you.
- 36:51Speaker 2: May have both hands full of flowers and candy and whatnot.
- 36:55Speaker 5: Maybe that be easier because I ain't got to do what.
- 36:58Speaker 5: They don't know each other.
- 37:05Speaker 2: I feel for you, nothing else that I could.
- 37:09Speaker 5: Most of my books, all my stories.
- 37:12Speaker 4: So.
- 37:14Speaker 2: Down on himself, you're telling on themself. I'm not gonna
- 37:18Speaker 2: be help.
- 37:20Speaker 5: So this I live.
- 37:23Speaker 7: I'm living what I'm telling you, Okay, So.
- 37:33Speaker 5: You know it's funny.
- 37:34Speaker 2: It's funny because they're not thinking it's so funny.
- 37:37Speaker 3: They're gonna be waiting for you, and you're Luckyness is
- 37:40Speaker 3: not a studio.
- 37:41Speaker 6: That you're at. You don't pray for him, don't you
- 37:45Speaker 6: worry about it?
- 37:47Speaker 3: Patre, Please have even put that missing persons out because
- 37:51Speaker 3: he's gonna comesten and y'all see him tonight.
- 37:54Speaker 2: You know what he got on and what. So that's
- 37:59Speaker 2: the start.
- 38:04Speaker 7: See, that's why the author, you got to use your creativity,
- 38:07Speaker 7: like when I'm writing a book, like say, I was
- 38:10Speaker 7: messing with somebody in Louisiana.
- 38:12Speaker 5: So I named the book the Louisiana Purchase. Wow, And
- 38:20Speaker 5: so I'm not.
- 38:22Speaker 7: And I'm taking you through the story of me and
- 38:24Speaker 7: her and how the stuff we did. But I just
- 38:26Speaker 7: made it into a whole like gangst a little little
- 38:29Speaker 7: story and I'm.
- 38:31Speaker 5: Just a different things.
- 38:32Speaker 7: And it's so funny because that's exactly how I'm gonna.
- 38:38Speaker 2: Snip overhead the car right now.
- 38:39Speaker 3: And I'm gonna ask you this question because some one
- 38:41Speaker 3: was afraid of what he's gonna say?
- 38:43Speaker 2: What advice to scare him? To give anybody advice right now?
- 38:47Speaker 3: Get someone who feels this story isn't important enough to
- 38:50Speaker 3: share because evidently he's.
- 38:52Speaker 2: Just really.
- 39:00Speaker 4: Stay with.
- 39:04Speaker 6: My my advice that everybody has a story.
- 39:09Speaker 4: To tell, and so you need to share because you
- 39:11Speaker 4: don't know who it's gonna lets.
- 39:15Speaker 2: Some stories shouldn't be told, Am I right?
- 39:27Speaker 5: Nobody?
- 39:27Speaker 3: Get someone what advice I want to hear this from you?
- 39:35Speaker 3: What advice would you give to someone who feels as
- 39:37Speaker 3: though this they're afraid that this story it's not important.
- 39:41Speaker 2: Enough to share.
- 39:43Speaker 7: Everybody's story is different. Everybody has a story to tell,
- 39:46Speaker 7: and it's not how you tell it, because my story
- 39:49Speaker 7: may be different from your story. But what we're trying
- 39:52Speaker 7: to we're trying to tell you, like I got a
- 39:53Speaker 7: lot of people that say, oh, man, I want to
- 39:55Speaker 7: write a book.
- 39:55Speaker 5: I'm gonna do this, so I want to do that.
- 39:57Speaker 5: I'm like, just right, it don't matter what order you
- 39:59Speaker 5: put it is.
- 40:01Speaker 7: That's why I said, that's what they got ahead of
- 40:02Speaker 7: us for you know what I mean, for yourself. No,
- 40:10Speaker 7: tell your story. Your story might help somebody. We never
- 40:13Speaker 7: know what the story gonna help something. Everybody's story is different,
- 40:17Speaker 7: you know, that's the That's the one thing I think
- 40:18Speaker 7: about God, that he made everybody different and one thing
- 40:21Speaker 7: that we get misconscrewed sometimes, like everybody has to think alike.
- 40:25Speaker 7: You know, we don't have to think like because God
- 40:27Speaker 7: gave everybody a different mind to think of.
- 40:30Speaker 5: So everybody's it's gonna be mm hmm.
- 40:35Speaker 2: That's just why we call individuals.
- 40:37Speaker 3: What do you want your stories to represent for future generations?
- 40:45Speaker 2: Don't even answer it has a card. We're skipping over you.
- 40:48Speaker 3: You got people that got kids out there, and you know,
- 40:51Speaker 3: the people trying to raise young men and young women,
- 40:54Speaker 3: and it don't I want you to add I was
- 41:01Speaker 3: answer me. I don't wanted to answer it. I'm scaring
- 41:04Speaker 3: to answer me. I thought I'm gonna answer. Did he
- 41:08Speaker 3: please answer, represent represent both of y'all, to represent for
- 41:13Speaker 3: future generations because I ain't messing with him.
- 41:19Speaker 4: Uh okay.
- 41:21Speaker 6: I think I want everyone to be just inspired to
- 41:26Speaker 6: trust God, to trust that the path that He has
- 41:29Speaker 6: for you, it's not gonna always look like look, but
- 41:33Speaker 6: he definitely has a story for you, and he definitely
- 41:36Speaker 6: has a plan.
- 41:37Speaker 4: For your life.
- 41:37Speaker 6: So I just want people to be inspired to just
- 41:41Speaker 6: believe in love again, believe in faith, believe that anything
- 41:45Speaker 6: is possible.
- 41:48Speaker 3: See you got any people in the audience think just
- 41:51Speaker 3: to say, take that? Okay, so you expand Can you
- 42:01Speaker 3: as a guy sense that's what you was going to say?
- 42:03Speaker 3: Can you expand on.
- 42:04Speaker 2: That a little bit more?
- 42:09Speaker 3: She bought Jesus into it, So I want you to
- 42:11Speaker 3: expand on that part a little bit more.
- 42:14Speaker 2: Save giving you, I'm giving you a chance.
- 42:20Speaker 4: M mm hmmm.
- 42:23Speaker 2: I want to hear from you.
- 42:24Speaker 3: What what are you expecting for the next generation Azekya
- 42:27Speaker 3: to be able to represent for future generations?
- 42:31Speaker 2: Oh man, to keep it together.
- 42:39Speaker 5: To be driven.
- 42:40Speaker 7: Yes, you know, never never, never let nobody tell you
- 42:46Speaker 7: that you can't. You know that you can't do this
- 42:49Speaker 7: and you can't do that. You know, I always believe
- 42:51Speaker 7: in yourself, Like DD said, I always believe in love. Hey,
- 42:55Speaker 7: you don't matter. It don't matter what that woman is. Hey,
- 43:00Speaker 7: if you can talk, see her talk.
- 43:03Speaker 4: No, I'm gonna.
- 43:07Speaker 5: Let's keep.
- 43:10Speaker 3: There's a ratified question. But I want a quick response
- 43:13Speaker 3: from either one of you. Were for both of you?
- 43:15Speaker 3: What is a name a book that changed your life? Oh,
- 43:22Speaker 3: you gotta look at the guard to ask him.
- 43:23Speaker 2: To help him with some words.
- 43:27Speaker 8: Black boy, Richard, black boy loved that one.
- 43:36Speaker 2: That's that's interesting. Why why that dog?
- 43:40Speaker 5: That was? Like I read that book when I was
- 43:41Speaker 5: in fourth grade and it changed and.
- 43:43Speaker 7: I didn't really know about race and you know about
- 43:48Speaker 7: you know, being dark and the different races, you know
- 43:51Speaker 7: how race or it was in America.
- 43:54Speaker 5: Until I read that book. You know, when they opened
- 43:56Speaker 5: up my eyes.
- 43:57Speaker 7: You know, I was like, wow, I didn't know that
- 43:59Speaker 7: we as mean and it's you know, go through this
- 44:02Speaker 7: because I remember when I was little, I used to
- 44:04Speaker 7: go to show beds with a.
- 44:06Speaker 5: Friend of mine all the time.
- 44:07Speaker 7: And his daddy called my daddy a boy one day
- 44:13Speaker 7: and they never came to pick me up for.
- 44:14Speaker 5: Show beds again.
- 44:16Speaker 7: But I was mad at my dad, like, man, oh
- 44:19Speaker 7: a word, and I didn't know nothing about the definition
- 44:23Speaker 7: of the word until I started reading that book, Black Boy.
- 44:26Speaker 7: So it opened my eyes to a whole lot of
- 44:28Speaker 7: stuff that was going on around it. Because you know, kids,
- 44:31Speaker 7: we don't see we really don't see race. We get
- 44:38Speaker 7: taught race, but we don't see race. We don't see colors.
- 44:42Speaker 7: We get taught that, you know. And reading that book
- 44:45Speaker 7: it opened up my ends, you know, to a lot
- 44:47Speaker 7: of stuff that I felt that I was growing up.
- 44:50Speaker 7: I was starting to see take shape in my life
- 44:53Speaker 7: as well.
- 44:55Speaker 5: So that book right there.
- 44:57Speaker 7: You know, talked about how he became a young man
- 45:00Speaker 7: going to a different sitting and learning and doing different things,
- 45:03Speaker 7: you know, and how he's seeing racism. So that's one
- 45:08Speaker 7: of the books. I love that book right there. I
- 45:10Speaker 7: actually want to read it again now that I'm old.
- 45:14Speaker 5: Yeah, you have.
- 45:15Speaker 2: Probably a different perspective on it. DD, what what book
- 45:17Speaker 2: changed your life?
- 45:19Speaker 6: Well, there have been a They've been a couple of books,
- 45:22Speaker 6: but I would have to say off the top of
- 45:24Speaker 6: my head right now. Uh, the book called The King's
- 45:28Speaker 6: Daughter by Diana Hagen is Doohn Hagen's wife, and.
- 45:32Speaker 4: It's a it's a book, but it's.
- 45:34Speaker 6: Also worked for and it's based upon upon the Book
- 45:37Speaker 6: of Estra, and the Book of Estra is my.
- 45:40Speaker 4: Book because he was adopted.
- 45:43Speaker 6: That's where that's where I actually conceived myself in the Bible.
- 45:47Speaker 6: It was like, do they have any doctor stories in
- 45:49Speaker 6: in the Bible? And when I heard about her, he
- 45:53Speaker 6: was he was definitely the the woman that I looked
- 45:56Speaker 6: up to in the Bible because.
- 45:58Speaker 3: He put said that it was You said it was
- 46:01Speaker 3: a work book. Did you actually do the work in
- 46:03Speaker 3: the book as well?
- 46:04Speaker 4: Yes, ma'am, Yes, ma'am. Then help me to see myself
- 46:08Speaker 4: the way God does.
- 46:11Speaker 2: Right, a free.
- 46:12Speaker 3: Perfect You both picked and chose wonderful books, and you
- 46:16Speaker 3: can definitely see from those books that Howard shaped both
- 46:19Speaker 3: of you to today. As we closed tonight's episode of
- 46:23Speaker 3: Basic Black After Dark, I want to thank our incredible
