- 5:48site career builder and monster. have filed for
- 5:51Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection just months
- 5:54after their merger in September 2024. Once dominant
- 5:59during the dot -com boom, both companies struggled
- 6:02to maintain their influence as competition intensified.
- 6:06According to court filings from Delaware, the
- 6:09merged company's assets are estimated between
- 6:11$50 million and $100 million, while liabilities
- 6:16range from $100 million to $500 million. Expert
- 6:21Hatim Rahman emphasizes that you have to continue
- 6:24to innovate and scale or perish in the competitive
- 6:27digital landscape. In business news, toy prices
- 6:34are rising sharply due to new tariffs impacting
- 6:37the industry, which heavily relies on imports
- 6:40from China. In May, toy prices surged by a record
- 6:442 .2%, far exceeding the overall inflation rate
- 6:49of Analysts warn that this is just the beginning,
- 6:54with potential cascading effects on prices and
- 6:57availability. Isaac Larian, chief executive of
- 7:01MGA Entertainment, noted, Prices have gone up.
- 7:05There's no doubt about it. Retailers are adjusting
- 7:08strategies, focusing on bestsellers, while companies

- 8:28back to the show. Let's talk tech. DJI remains
- 8:34committed to the United States market despite
- 8:36the alarming absence of its drones from local
- 8:39retailers. A recent visit to a Best Buy store
- 8:43revealed zero DJI drones available for purchase,
- 8:47with the aisle completely cleared of products.
- 8:51A store employee cited concerns over U .S.-China
- 8:55relations as a reason for the lack of stock.
- 8:59DJI's own U .S. web store also shows no drones
- 9:02in inventory, and third -party listings on Amazon
- 9:05are limited. As concerns about tariffs and import
- 9:09scrutiny grow, DJI may face challenges ahead,
- 9:13with a possible ban on new products looming.
- 9:18And in entertainment news, The Karate Kid Part
- 9:223 sees Daniel and Mr. Miyagi returning to the
- 9:27Valley, but the film feels like leftovers from
- 9:30earlier installments. Director John G. Abelson
- 9:34envisioned a high -flying adventure set in 16th
- 9:37century China. but producer Jerry Weintraub disagreed.
- 9:42Instead, the film features Daniel investing his
- 9:45college savings into a bonsai tree shop, while
- 9:48Cobra Kai's Kree steams up with the sinister
- 9:51Terry Silver to turn Daniel against Miyagi. Critics
- 9:56noted that the film's violence overshadowed its
- 9:58heart, leading to a disappointing box office
- 10:01return of $39 million. Roger Ebert lamented the
- 10:06exhausted character arcs. indicating it was time
- 10:09to move on. Well, all righty, folks, it's time
- 10:14for the quote of the day. And today, our quote
- 10:18comes from the American poet and essayist, Walt
- 10:21Whitman. And he said, I hear America singing
- 10:26the very carols I hear, celebrating the diverse
- 10:29voices that unite us in harmony. And that's a
