Latest / Foul Territory / FT WC postgame shows: Padres and Guardians force Game 3 tilts!
Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: F post game show, it's just a J and Bron
- 0:05Speaker 1: breaking down the Cubs and the Padres, and then we'll
- 0:09Speaker 1: get to the Tigers and the Guardians in a little bit.
- 0:11Speaker 1: But the Padres even up the series, a big win
- 0:15Speaker 1: for San Diego. They shut out Chicago three nothing at Wrigley,
- 0:20Speaker 1: just an off offense with the Machado home run, and
- 0:22Speaker 1: they get a little early action the one run across,
- 0:25Speaker 1: thanks in part to some back to back hits to
- 0:28Speaker 1: start the first and then a double steal off of opener.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Is that is that the difference in the game? Though
- 0:35Speaker 1: in your mind did get out man run?
- 0:38Speaker 2: Right? What's awesome? Forget that comes in scoredy runs. But
- 0:42Speaker 2: I will say this, the opener did not work because
- 0:44Speaker 2: then later on showed up face Manny with a base open,
- 0:47Speaker 2: hung them a split whack. Then it's three nothing. If
- 0:50Speaker 2: you're gonna make all these fancy, fancy moves to let
- 0:54Speaker 2: you know, oh, I don't want to show her to
- 0:56Speaker 2: face this top of the lineup then but he had
- 0:58Speaker 2: to face him later and then he didn't around him
- 1:00Speaker 2: and face Jackson Merrill. Right, why would you not walk
- 1:03Speaker 2: him with two hours right there?
- 1:04Speaker 1: So the only concept is that they are limiting the
- 1:07Speaker 1: amount of times that showed to.
- 1:10Speaker 2: But in big situations, don't you want your best matchup?
- 1:14Speaker 2: This is like you, I'm trying to be cute, but
- 1:16Speaker 2: I don't want to be that cute. But I'm trying
- 1:17Speaker 2: to be too cute and I'm not that cute. And
- 1:18Speaker 2: then all of a sudden, whack, Manny Machado hits one
- 1:22Speaker 2: to the freaking moon.
- 1:23Speaker 1: And I know it's the postseason, but starters start, yes,
- 1:30Speaker 1: So all of a sudden in the postseason, you're asking
- 1:33Speaker 1: a guy who only starts his entire life to do
- 1:35Speaker 1: something different.
- 1:36Speaker 2: And you also use Kittridge, who again was one of
- 1:39Speaker 2: your better late inning relievers. If they would have had
- 1:41Speaker 2: the lead, they would have liked to have had Kittridge up.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Now he's probably down tomorrow. I mean, I don't know
- 1:45Speaker 2: that we threw twenty some pitches. Yeah, and the two
- 1:50Speaker 2: teams that force Game three today, the bullpens are going
- 1:54Speaker 2: to be a question tomorrow. Detroit's bullpen's in better spot
- 1:56Speaker 2: than Cleveland. Kate Smith through thirty pitches in a six
- 1:58Speaker 2: to one game, right, got us two days in a row.
- 2:01Speaker 2: So of Orski two days in a row.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Right, This is why in game three, it is very
- 2:08Speaker 1: difficult for the team that was trailing one nothing because
- 2:11Speaker 1: their balls to the wall game you have.
- 2:14Speaker 2: To Dylan Te's pitch really well. In this game, he
- 2:16Speaker 2: went with three innings, came.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Out in the fourth three and change.
- 2:20Speaker 2: And then and then they had to go to Moury
- 2:22Speaker 2: hone for multiple innings. Mason Miller multiple innings, wore as
- 2:25Speaker 2: multiple innings.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Five and a third one hit, no runs from that.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Padres bullpen as good as advertiser, and.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Mason Miller has been unhittable.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Clearly, that's what the trade deadlines for. What.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Yeah, making pickups like that for me in a couple
- 2:38Speaker 2: of big hits he did, he did a couple. He's
- 2:40Speaker 2: had a couple of hits in the series, had the
- 2:42Speaker 2: double lead off double, he's caught unbelievably. Well, I just here,
- 2:47Speaker 2: here's the thing. If you ain't gonna hit, you get,
- 2:50Speaker 2: you throw a zero spot off, you're the couch. And
- 2:51Speaker 2: two games you scored three and granted the Padres have
- 2:53Speaker 2: scored four and two games.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean they're pretty close in runs.
- 2:58Speaker 2: So that's kind of a wall us. But now you
- 3:01Speaker 2: go into this next game, Game three, it's Darvish against Tyan.
- 3:06Speaker 1: I don't know. We didn't get an announced yet.
- 3:07Speaker 2: We have an announcement for who. But anyways, but the Cubs,
- 3:11Speaker 2: Cubs have to feel better about the bullpen where they
- 3:13Speaker 2: are then than the Potters do.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Right, It depends how aggressive you want to be. For example,
- 3:25Speaker 1: Mason Miller has pitched in back to back days.
- 3:27Speaker 2: He has thrown three days in a row before this year.
- 3:29Speaker 1: I know that, So then why can't he just pitch
- 3:31Speaker 1: again in a game three? I mean, and probably can't.
- 3:33Speaker 2: But they also they have they have a long term investment.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Sure, but okay, let's say he pitches and is he
- 3:40Speaker 1: gonna go six outs? Probably not, but could he give
- 3:43Speaker 1: them three outs in the game three? Aurez can? Miller can,
- 3:47Speaker 1: and then you get a day off.
- 3:49Speaker 2: They didn't score. I mean, it's great, we're gonna have
- 3:52Speaker 2: all these conversations this and now we're kind of more
- 3:53Speaker 2: getting in tomorrow. But they didn't score. And I even
- 3:56Speaker 2: I score Kyle Kyle Tucker got a hit at the
- 3:58Speaker 2: last inning. But they're off. Didn't do any PCA looked
- 4:01Speaker 2: over match, right, I mean, they keep swinging a breaking
- 4:05Speaker 2: balls three to two. Their podres are kind of pitching
- 4:07Speaker 2: them backwards. I mean, cease is great more a hone
- 4:11Speaker 2: has been. It's been the most of these playoffs have
- 4:15Speaker 2: been really no offense. The one inning for Cleveland today
- 4:17Speaker 2: and the Dodgers lost. Like other that it's been like, Okay,
- 4:19Speaker 2: it's been pitcher, pitcher and pitcher.
- 4:21Speaker 1: But this is what many modern hitters talk about. They're
- 4:24Speaker 1: like pitchings out of control. Good and now we're just
- 4:28Speaker 1: getting the best pitching and hitters. Approaches have changed. So
- 4:32Speaker 1: this isn't too much of a surprise, and it's early.
- 4:34Speaker 1: It's early. Eventually you get deeper in October, guys get tired.
- 4:38Speaker 1: You see the same pitchers over and over. But in
- 4:39Speaker 1: a short series like this, it's tough.
- 4:42Speaker 2: The Cubs might see the same guys three days in
- 4:44Speaker 2: a row tomorrow.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Yeah, well that's what San Diego paid up for.
- 4:48Speaker 2: That's what as San Diego built their team around. Yep
- 4:50Speaker 2: and listen, I said from the get go that that
- 4:53Speaker 2: was the most fascinating series to me was the Padres
- 4:56Speaker 2: and Cubs, just because of the teams are both loaded
- 4:58Speaker 2: with star power, both of you know, great discs and that,
- 5:02Speaker 2: and that would be the most fascinating to me. The
- 5:06Speaker 2: the Cubs again didn't score. They scored yesterday. They scored
- 5:10Speaker 2: three runs on back to back homers, and they manufactured
- 5:13Speaker 2: the run in the ninth, which they kind of were
- 5:15Speaker 2: given because of some walks and a wild pitch. Can
- 5:20Speaker 2: the Cubs score? Can the Padres score tomorrow? I don't
- 5:23Speaker 2: know if you're facing bu Darvish, and if it, let's
- 5:26Speaker 2: say it. I mean, Kate Horton would look nice, nice
- 5:28Speaker 2: right now pitching coming in for the Cubs, but he's injured.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Right Yeah, it might be zero zero on the twelfth inning.
- 5:36Speaker 2: I don't know, it's gonna be amazing. And the Guardians
- 5:39Speaker 2: and Tigers it might be zero zero in that game.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Yeah, we're gonna get to that. But it's good pitching, it's.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Great pitching, and just but to watch the offense, it
- 5:49Speaker 2: wasn't even a lot of I mean, I know the
- 5:50Speaker 2: winds blowing into regularly, but there just wasn't a lot
- 5:52Speaker 2: of hard hit balls.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Well that's the thing.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Play right to tease was nice in the eighth, But look.
- 5:57Speaker 1: At the state of the lineups for both sides. The
- 6:00Speaker 1: Padres offense has some good hitters on paper, but it
- 6:04Speaker 1: has not been a strength for the team this year
- 6:06Speaker 1: for the coup to score. They were gangbusters to start
- 6:09Speaker 1: the year, but the hitters took a step back. Yeah,
- 6:13Speaker 1: Tucker was out as anybody.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Carson Kelly took a tip in the second half. I mean,
- 6:19Speaker 2: Matt Shaw has been okay. Ian's been okay. Nica Horner
- 6:23Speaker 2: has been on fire the second half.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Yeah, he's been really good.
- 6:26Speaker 2: He doesn't have the power.
- 6:28Speaker 1: No, he's a base knock runners in scoring position, come through,
- 6:32Speaker 1: make contact kind of guy.
- 6:35Speaker 2: I don't know. I just I watched this game. It
- 6:38Speaker 2: was a fascinating game to watch. This a great series, strategy, strategy,
- 6:42Speaker 2: who's going to get the big hit? And Manny Machano
- 6:45Speaker 2: got the big hit. Not only get a big hit,
- 6:47Speaker 2: but he stood there and watched it for a long.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Time, as he should. He hadn't looked great and he
- 6:53Speaker 1: hurt himself a little bit sliding for that foul ball. No,
- 6:57Speaker 1: he's okay, it's fine. I don't know.
- 7:01Speaker 2: He laid there for a minute.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Took some time.
- 7:04Speaker 2: It definitely took some time.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Yeah, but first pitch splitter of Managa.
- 7:07Speaker 2: But if you watch it, and I'll give you it's
- 7:09Speaker 2: being credit for this in the broadcast. I think it
- 7:12Speaker 2: was Jesse Rodgers the interview, and I'm not a big
- 7:14Speaker 2: interview with the guy in the middle of the inning
- 7:15Speaker 2: dug out, kind of tricky, huge, I don't know. It's
- 7:18Speaker 2: takes thirty seconds, I know, but it's just kind of
- 7:20Speaker 2: weird to me.
- 7:21Speaker 1: But they usually actually give you some info.
- 7:22Speaker 2: I know they do. I don't know. It's just weird,
- 7:25Speaker 2: but we've done it, and I've been on the headset
- 7:28Speaker 2: when you're talking to people. But here's the thing. They
- 7:31Speaker 2: did a great job with this, and I think it
- 7:33Speaker 2: was Jesse Rodgers said, oh, he threw you last about
- 7:35Speaker 2: first pitch split and you swung, you missed at it.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Were you looking for it? Of course made it goes.
- 7:39Speaker 2: I don't look for pitches, you know. He didn't want
- 7:41Speaker 2: to give anything way, but hell yeah, you're looking for it,
- 7:43Speaker 2: especially with the runner on second and two outs. Guess
- 7:46Speaker 2: what you You're like, they're not gonna probably pitch to me.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Oh crap, he hung a split whack right, Yeah, that's
- 7:51Speaker 2: why you just go like this, put him on and
- 7:54Speaker 2: let Jackson Merrill left on left beat you right.
- 7:57Speaker 1: That's what you have Inmanaga in the game for us,
- 8:00Speaker 1: in that pocket you can avoid Machado, the lane was there. Yes,
- 8:05Speaker 1: Nate chose to up in the bullpen too, if that's
- 8:08Speaker 1: what you want to go.
- 8:08Speaker 2: They had I think Colin Ray up in the bullpen. Sure,
- 8:11Speaker 2: so there was options there. Craig Council went with options
- 8:13Speaker 2: to see, give up a two run homer.
- 8:16Speaker 1: That's the game.
- 8:17Speaker 2: And I mean, listen, he's normally pretty good about you know,
- 8:19Speaker 2: he's been pretty good in his career about managing stuff.
- 8:22Speaker 2: But this time he wasn't. Didn't work.
- 8:26Speaker 1: What about Dylan Cees with a rocky postseason, passed in
- 8:30Speaker 1: a few.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Starts, but against the Cubs.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Because he was.
- 8:35Speaker 2: The next Cup he was traded away from the Cubs.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Walk machine this year, this time around just one intentional.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Walk, and and that was who did he walk?
- 8:45Speaker 1: He walked Carson Kelly.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Carson Kelly pretty sure intentionally walked Carson Kelly, and they
- 8:50Speaker 2: brought him more hone to punch out or to get
- 8:53Speaker 2: not I didn't punch him out, but to get Peter
- 8:55Speaker 2: Armstrong up. Yes, that was the intentional walk.
- 8:58Speaker 1: That was. It was pumping.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Great every time he needed it. A little slider in there.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Here's my thing with Dan Ceas he has number one
- 9:09Speaker 1: stuff he's had number one stuff for a long time,
- 9:13Speaker 1: and he's had some years where it plays for the
- 9:16Speaker 1: entire year. This happened to turn into this free agent
- 9:19Speaker 1: can't find the zone disaster.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Yeah he's still good.
- 9:23Speaker 1: He's really good. The Padres have pitching talent and it
- 9:28Speaker 1: showed up here in Chicago. So Game three is such
- 9:33Speaker 1: a fifty to fifty ball for me.
- 9:36Speaker 2: You want to say the Cubs have the advantage. We
- 9:38Speaker 2: don't know who's starting, and care counsel is going to
- 9:39Speaker 2: try and get cute with it.
- 9:40Speaker 1: I think the Padres have the advantage because I think
- 9:43Speaker 1: they have a better bullpen. I think they're not going
- 9:44Speaker 1: to care. Days think they're not going to care. Like
- 9:47Speaker 1: you said, Suarez has two innings, Miller has an inning.
- 9:50Speaker 1: We already ate up stream, there's four. Is Michael King
- 9:55Speaker 1: gonna appear here, maybe at least for a couple of innings,
- 9:59Speaker 1: and let's not act like he hasn't been a reliever before.
- 10:01Speaker 1: He's done that to it.
- 10:02Speaker 2: I don't know if they would do that though, coming
- 10:03Speaker 2: off his injury. Maybe.
- 10:06Speaker 1: I just think that this is a game seven, elimination
- 10:09Speaker 1: game scenario in a Game three, and the Padres have
- 10:13Speaker 1: an edge in pitching talent. I think the Cubs have
- 10:16Speaker 1: a slight edge in the offense, but it's not the
- 10:19Speaker 1: offense that it looked like at the beginning of the year.
- 10:22Speaker 1: So we'll see what happens. But great series, great series,
- 10:26Speaker 1: and we get a game three.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Vascas to who they could use. I mean, I don't
- 10:29Speaker 2: know if they would want to. They have Wandy Peralta,
- 10:31Speaker 2: who has been pretty good for him too, David.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Morgan, Dude, they have talent. Vascas is actually a good
- 10:36Speaker 1: example of someone who was just kind of there as
- 10:39Speaker 1: maybe a five six seven starter.
- 10:42Speaker 2: Could be a weapon for multiple innings. I don't know
- 10:46Speaker 2: they would do that.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Though, I would try it if he says.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Okay, but then you need someone to if you win,
- 10:51Speaker 2: you need somebody to start in two days. Who bullpen
- 10:55Speaker 2: game Game one and then start vaskaz game one.
- 11:00Speaker 1: And then game two. You can go back to Brews. Yeah,
- 11:04Speaker 1: I think it's possible. The thing with Vazquez is, I
- 11:06Speaker 1: mean his vila was up pretty significantly when he came
- 11:11Speaker 1: back to the team late September. Right I'm looking his
- 11:15Speaker 1: vilo was. We were seeing some ninety sevens from him,
- 11:18Speaker 1: like he is like Kratz always likes to say, got
- 11:21Speaker 1: that heavy ball training or something, because suddenly he's used
- 11:25Speaker 1: to be I don't know, ninety two or three, and
- 11:28Speaker 1: suddenly he's hitting some ninety sevens. I give him credit.
- 11:32Speaker 1: But those are our thoughts on this one. It's the
- 11:36Speaker 1: foul territory postgame show, great series. Yes, we are powered
- 11:40Speaker 1: by MLB nine innings twenty five. Let us shift to
- 11:44Speaker 1: another game. Three Tigers and Guardians in Cleveland. It's happening.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Tigers wiffin left and right, one for fifteen with runners
- 11:54Speaker 1: in scoring position, fifteen left on base and the Eveland
- 12:00Speaker 1: Guardians do not have the world's best offense, but they
- 12:03Speaker 1: pounced late against the Tigers bullpen. They had three home
- 12:06Speaker 1: runs in this game.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Three home runs legit, and then the one that uh
- 12:14Speaker 2: Rokio hit was legit. That was one hundred. And then
- 12:17Speaker 2: the last one bow Naylor hit, he just clipped it
- 12:19Speaker 2: out from man. That's the old clip it out front,
- 12:22Speaker 2: flick it breaking ball after filling the ball off his foot.
- 12:26Speaker 2: That there was a confusion. Is all had get out
- 12:28Speaker 2: on that one? Right? There was legit. Rokios was legit
- 12:31Speaker 2: and the crowd was going crazy. The people that were there.
- 12:37Speaker 1: There it is.
- 12:38Speaker 2: I know, this is when they.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Went back to back doubles driving in Kwan.
- 12:43Speaker 2: And then then this one right here, that's just clipping
- 12:46Speaker 2: a guy out front. Nice, but that's a great I
- 12:49Speaker 2: mean that's a great swing left on left. People always say, oh,
- 12:52Speaker 2: you got to stay back. I sometimes you got to
- 12:53Speaker 2: get it out front and just get the head through.
- 12:56Speaker 2: With some batspeeding, especially on a breaking ball, then you
- 12:59Speaker 2: can just shoo, it'll go. But listen, give all the all.
- 13:04Speaker 2: First of all, Tanner Biby, unbelievable job because your pitch
- 13:08Speaker 2: count was through the roof. And he kept like he had.
- 13:10Speaker 2: It was like he was in trouble, trouble, trouble, every
- 13:12Speaker 2: and he's like, oh, here we go. Detroit's gonna break through.
- 13:14Speaker 2: They never did, right, And then the rest of the
- 13:17Speaker 2: bullpen Gaddis Sebrowski, Herron Junus, Kate Smith got a little
- 13:21Speaker 2: wonky there in the last inning, got out of it.
- 13:24Speaker 2: But he do how many pitches he through thirty.
- 13:28Speaker 1: I don't know. He's thirty one, thirty one, two days
- 13:31Speaker 1: in a row, thirty one to days.
- 13:32Speaker 2: He available tomorrow. Like to me, the Detroit bullpen is
- 13:35Speaker 2: set up much better for tomorrow. I'm assuming Flaarity's starting.
- 13:40Speaker 2: I think I said it. I think it's Chaconion against Flarerity,
- 13:45Speaker 2: Yeah against Flaridy. Yeah. So I mean, how many will they?
- 13:47Speaker 2: How big of a leish will a J. Hinch have
- 13:49Speaker 2: on for Flarity? Or he starts one time?
- 13:52Speaker 1: Three? I mean Mais went three plus what.
- 13:56Speaker 2: He did today? Yeah, listen to the Guardians just figured
- 13:59Speaker 2: it's but the Guardians just figured out somehow, someway.
- 14:02Speaker 1: O, their offense is in a different place than Detroit
- 14:04Speaker 1: right now. I mean, the Guardians certainly don't have a
- 14:07Speaker 1: scary offense, but the power showed up for them at
- 14:10Speaker 1: the right time, and Detroit is just a strikeout mess.
- 14:14Speaker 2: How about they pinch it for Riley Green today, who
- 14:17Speaker 2: was their best hitter pretty much all year by far,
- 14:21Speaker 2: and they pinched it for him in the seventh? Was
- 14:23Speaker 2: it first and third?
- 14:24Speaker 1: I guess with the lefty Haaron comes in, Jami Jones
- 14:28Speaker 1: ops against left handed pitching, and hair got screwed on
- 14:32Speaker 1: one call. But still they just chucked curves at him
- 14:34Speaker 1: and got him.
- 14:35Speaker 2: I don't care what his OPS is against lefties. Like
- 14:37Speaker 2: Riley Green's your best player in your future, Like then
- 14:40Speaker 2: your best player for years. All Star multiple times.
- 14:43Speaker 1: I almost felt like A J. Hinch was sending a
- 14:45Speaker 1: message to him to the team, like, I'll sub anyone
- 14:49Speaker 1: out if you guys can't figure out a better.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Approach from the whole everybody.
- 14:53Speaker 1: Isn't it weird how the whole approach from the team
- 14:55Speaker 1: seems similar Cody Stavenhagen, who's Tiger terri right, guy though, right,
- 15:01Speaker 1: that's for them, that's normal, that's good. But Cody posted
- 15:06Speaker 1: how many pitches were middle quadrant from Cleveland? And I
- 15:09Speaker 1: get it, it's good stuff. It's not like you can
- 15:10Speaker 1: hit it. But he was saying, I'm seeing hit able
- 15:12Speaker 1: pitches and then he just feels like they're completely caught
- 15:16Speaker 1: in between with their collective approach. A lot of whiffs,
- 15:18Speaker 1: a lot of taking strikes. This was at one point
- 15:20Speaker 1: early in the game against Tanner Biby. If I showed
- 15:25Speaker 1: you this, you would go, oh, they got to some pitches.
- 15:28Speaker 1: I mean, look, how many pitches are middle middle here?
- 15:31Speaker 1: These are big league hitters. Do you think that collectively
- 15:35Speaker 1: they've lost confidence?
- 15:38Speaker 2: All right? So there's a couple of things. One, what
- 15:40Speaker 2: were the counts? What were the counts? So you can't
- 15:44Speaker 2: just look at a chart without there has to be
- 15:46Speaker 2: more to it. There has to be maybe some of
- 15:48Speaker 2: those middle middles were oh oh breaking balls that Tanner
- 15:51Speaker 2: Biby just flipped in there.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Even if there's some like that chart had a ton
- 15:55Speaker 1: of middle middle on it.
- 15:55Speaker 2: Yeah, but you just don't know when it was. Maybe
- 15:57Speaker 2: he had just own five balls in a row that
- 16:00Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know. But also you know they
- 16:04Speaker 2: hit on it, and they hit on it like so
- 16:06Speaker 2: many times in the shadows like I got we got
- 16:08Speaker 2: it the shadows, but they I mean they must have
- 16:10Speaker 2: said it a hundred times in the game, right, the shadowship.
- 16:13Speaker 2: But both teams have the shadows. So there's shadows in Chicago.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Yes, we had shadows in Chicago, And that's brought up
- 16:21Speaker 1: it is a factor you don't get games during this
- 16:23Speaker 1: time period.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Yeah in Chicago you do.
- 16:26Speaker 1: Yeah, in Chicago you do. That's true too, tiny every
- 16:28Speaker 1: one actually.
- 16:29Speaker 2: Does a lot of new in the one o'clock games,
- 16:30Speaker 2: So I wouldn't.
- 16:31Speaker 1: Say that right.
- 16:32Speaker 2: But again, like you can show all the charts you want,
- 16:35Speaker 2: you got to give me context. What was now if
- 16:37Speaker 2: you put what the counts were like, if it was like, like,
- 16:40Speaker 2: let's I think if we can we show that again.
- 16:42Speaker 2: There was a there was like curveball right, and slider
- 16:45Speaker 2: and change ups, and.
- 16:47Speaker 1: I just want to emphasize this was like because like,
- 16:49Speaker 1: let's say, okay.
- 16:50Speaker 2: There's a change there's a curve ball. There's a couple
- 16:52Speaker 2: of curve balls that are kind of middle middle one. Oh,
- 16:54Speaker 2: maybe he dropped a curve ball, and guys aren't going
- 16:56Speaker 2: to swing at that right because they don't want to
- 16:58Speaker 2: hit that. Now, there some four seamers, but a lot
- 17:01Speaker 2: of them are at the top of the top ish
- 17:02Speaker 2: part of the zone. The change ups, okay, but again,
- 17:05Speaker 2: what was the count? Maybe it was two?
- 17:07Speaker 1: Oh?
- 17:07Speaker 2: And if you dropped a change up in too oh,
- 17:09Speaker 2: like things you don't want to swing at. So I
- 17:11Speaker 2: can't really sit here and go, oh, yeah this is Cody,
- 17:14Speaker 2: we love you, but you got to give me some
- 17:15Speaker 2: context here, brother. You can't just.
- 17:19Speaker 1: And ben Rice just went deep classic. But that was
- 17:23Speaker 1: through two innings. So yeah, there were a lot more
- 17:25Speaker 1: pitches obviously throwing the rest of the game where the
- 17:28Speaker 1: Tigers had opportunities.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Yes, they base fifteen, they left fifteen on base.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Fifteen left on base nine in a game. Yes, I
- 17:39Speaker 1: think it was some type of franchise postseason to have been. Yeah, okay,
- 17:44Speaker 1: so we'll see which team has an edge in Game three.
- 17:46Speaker 1: For me, I just think the Guardians are a better
- 17:49Speaker 1: team right now than the Schooble list Tigers. Schooble game
- 17:54Speaker 1: is different a non schooble game. I think the Guardians
- 17:57Speaker 1: I think I were Again.
- 17:58Speaker 2: Is the bullpen for Cleveland is you're going to see
- 18:00Speaker 2: some of these guys for the third time, third time
- 18:02Speaker 2: three days? Yeah, I think Tony, if you want the time,
- 18:07Speaker 2: if you want the Guardians to win, to step up
- 18:09Speaker 2: big time.
- 18:10Speaker 1: Mm hmm, give them some innings. Yes, yeah, But it's again,
- 18:14Speaker 1: it's an elimination game. You're gonna go all out. You're
- 18:16Speaker 1: gonna worry about the next round, to the next round.
- 18:19Speaker 2: Here's what I'm looking for. Can we get four game
- 18:21Speaker 2: threes tomorrow?
- 18:22Speaker 1: We might. MLB would be pumped everybody.
- 18:27Speaker 2: Baseball fans should be pumped about that.
- 18:29Speaker 1: But the wild Card round is. But in terms of
- 18:34Speaker 1: the history of the last few years we talked about it,
- 18:36Speaker 1: we haven't had many game threes. And some people were like, oh, well,
- 18:40Speaker 1: you said, like, oh, you feel the heat in Game two,
- 18:42Speaker 1: But I don't know. I mean, it still was kind
- 18:45Speaker 1: of crazy that we had twelve right, twelve in the
- 18:50Speaker 1: three years and only two produced a game three. That's
- 18:52Speaker 1: a low rank exactly Sorolreaty way ahead of the game.
- 18:56Speaker 1: I love it. I love it. And we'll figure out
- 18:58Speaker 1: what the times are as we're doing this show live
- 19:00Speaker 1: right now. We don't know the times yet, so that'll
- 19:02Speaker 1: factor in depending on how the two later games go.
- 19:05Speaker 1: But the Guardians take down the Tigers, and now we
- 19:08Speaker 1: have a Game three in Cleveland. Very cool to decide
- 19:12Speaker 1: those two teams out of the al Central and who's
- 19:15Speaker 1: going to make it to the Alds. So thanks for watching.
- 19:18Speaker 1: Everyone really appreciate it. Hope you enjoyed it. Wrapping up
- 19:20Speaker 1: both games here and a reminder to anyone that's watching
- 19:23Speaker 1: right now, if you're looking for postgame coverage of the
- 19:26Speaker 1: Yankees and the Red Sox, we have the Yankees and
- 19:27Speaker 1: the Red Sox perspective, Derek Lewandowski handling pin stripe Territory
- 19:31Speaker 1: and Robbie Hyde handling Monster Territory, so that'll get the
- 19:35Speaker 1: job done for you there. Dodgers Territory is a party
- 19:38Speaker 1: every night with Alana and Clint, so I encourage you
- 19:40Speaker 1: to check that out. Whether you're watching for Dodgers, Reds
- 19:42Speaker 1: or you're just watching for ball and you just want
- 19:44Speaker 1: to see people recap that action. Go for it, and

- 19:59Speaker 1: in there, like Jeter, DiMaggio, Satchel Page and more. You
- 20:02Speaker 1: can write your own history in the game with all
- 20:05Speaker 1: time greats and lead your team to victory. Here it is.
- 20:08Speaker 1: I'll take it easy one you guys.
- 20:09Speaker 2: Whatever. Hey, Mike, you might want to back up. Nah, bro,
- 20:18Speaker 2: I'm good right here. Yeah, you got no chance of
- 20:20Speaker 2: getting it out of the infield anyway. Last time you
- 20:22Speaker 2: gave me something to hit and I took your d
- 20:24Speaker 2: Come on in here. What was that.
- 20:30Speaker 1: That's not fair.
- 20:31Speaker 2: I was even ready save it, Junior. That's terrible. Hey,
- 20:35Speaker 2: mad dog, give me something to hit.
