Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_02: Hello everybody and welcome back to Flabberghosted.
- 0:04SPEAKER_02: I'm Jen.
- 0:05SPEAKER_04: I'm Meg, and this week we have something very special planned for Halloween.
- 0:10SPEAKER_02: Yes, it's our Halloween spooky special edition.
- 0:14SPEAKER_02: So today, me and Megan are actually going to be doing our first ever D D campaign with our wonderful goal guide, Amelia.
- 0:26SPEAKER_01: Hi.
- 0:27SPEAKER_01: Lovely to be here.
- 0:28SPEAKER_01: Thank y'all.
- 0:29SPEAKER_01: Thank y'all.
- 0:30SPEAKER_02: Thank you for coming.
- 0:31SPEAKER_02: Thank you for joining.
- 0:32SPEAKER_02: Thank you for doing this campaign for us.
- 0:35SPEAKER_02: We are beyond grateful and excited.
- 0:37SPEAKER_02: So let's jump right in.
- 0:41SPEAKER_01: Alright.
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: So y'all's adventure begins in the merry gnome village of Nock Nock, and elders tell of a foreboding mystery of the Carted Manor.
- 0:52SPEAKER_01: It sits atop a perpetually sunny hill, but the gnome villagers have always sensed a strange sense of otherness about it, of doom.
- 0:59SPEAKER_01: So the gnomes have guarded it and kept it away from prying eyes.
- 1:03SPEAKER_01: Until one day, when the adventurers enter into town, something strange happens.
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: And if y'all want to introduce your characters real quick.
- 1:12SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:13SPEAKER_02: So my character's name is Jen.
- 1:16SPEAKER_02: She is a lightfoot halfling house agent, and she has a love for stories, secrets, and a little bit of gossip.
- 1:24SPEAKER_02: Her unusual connection with spirits has made her curious about the strange and the unexplained.
- 1:30SPEAKER_02: And so when she heard rumors of a haunted manor, she made her way to the village of Knock Knock to try and learn more.
- 1:37SPEAKER_02: And while in town, she befriended a gnome druid who also shares her curiosity.
- 1:42SPEAKER_02: And the two of us have decided to investigate the manor together.
- 1:46SPEAKER_02: Jen is hoping to uncover the manor's secrets, meet a few interesting characters, living or not, and come away with a story worth telling.
- 1:55SPEAKER_04: And then my character's name is Meg.
- 1:57SPEAKER_04: She is a forest gnome who grew up deep in the forest, who left behind her little community in order to investigate the long forgotten settlements around her.
- 2:08SPEAKER_04: With the stars as her guides, the will and creatures she meets along the way and keeping her company.
- 2:13SPEAKER_04: She decided to leave and investigate everything that she could to fuel her curiosity.
- 2:19SPEAKER_04: Eventually, she found herself outside the little town of Knock Knock, where she befriended a halfling who told whispers of a haunted manor on the edge of town.
- 2:29SPEAKER_04: With her thirst for knowledge, she decided to investigate with the halfling, hoping to learn more about the town, its people, and the manor itself in the process.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: Magnificent.
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: And just for y'all's listeners, Meg is a Druid and Jenna's a bard.
- 2:45SPEAKER_02: Oh, I forgot about that.
- 2:48SPEAKER_01: It is all good.
- 2:50SPEAKER_01: So, as y'all both enter the town of Knock Knock, you see a what appears to be a gnome mayor bent over, digging in his garden.
- 3:00SPEAKER_01: The streets are surprisingly empty, even though it's the middle of the day.
- 3:06SPEAKER_01: And you can see some houses are well kept up, but some houses are lie in disrepair.
- 3:12SPEAKER_01: It's strange in seeing how gnomes are very like they like to work with their hands.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: And normally would keep up with their stuff in our very tight-knit community, but you see something may be wrong, but may just be an aging town.
- 3:34SPEAKER_01: Alright.
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: The mayor looks up as y'all approach.
- 3:37SPEAKER_01: Greetings, adventurers.
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: We haven't had much people come to our fair village nowadays.
- 3:44SPEAKER_01: What can we do for y'all?
- 3:45SPEAKER_02: We've heard some rumors of something spooky happening.
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: Rumors?
- 3:54SPEAKER_01: Um well there is the manor, but as you can see, and as y'all look into the distance, you see a gloriously sunny hill with a pristine manor on top.
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: It's at least two or three stories with a sprawling estate, lots of like wildflowers and drifting grasses everywhere.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: But as y'all look a little closer, if you um want to roll a perception check in the uh in the chat real quick.
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: So that's gonna be that's gonna be backslash roll and then 1D20 plus your investigation modifier real quick, which you can find on your character sheet.
- 4:41SPEAKER_01: So Megan rolled a four.
- 4:44SPEAKER_01: Ooh, good roll.
- 4:46SPEAKER_01: So to you, Megan, it just looks like an ordinary manner.
- 4:49SPEAKER_01: Like nothing really out of the picture.
- 4:51SPEAKER_01: But Jen, as you look a little closer, you can see there's something off about it.
- 4:58SPEAKER_01: Like, as you look at it closely, it looks like almost as if the image is distorted.
- 5:05SPEAKER_01: Interesting.
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: As y'all look back to the mayor, he visibly starts to sweat.
- 5:11SPEAKER_01: Uh as you can see, the manor is quite normal.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: Um nothing happening here, of course.
- 5:20SPEAKER_04: Nothing at all, eh?
- 5:25SPEAKER_01: Suddenly, above y'all, even though it is high noon, a blood-red moon goes over the sun.
- 5:35SPEAKER_03: Oh, that's suspicious.
- 5:38SPEAKER_01: And slowly, all the area of knock knock is surrounded in a deep dark crimson haze.
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: And as you see the manor, it slowly shifts from a pristine idyllic view to a dark, decrepit, worn-down manor.
- 5:59SPEAKER_01: And the merry fields of grass and flowers around it have turned into a dark and fitted swamp.
- 6:06SPEAKER_01: Quickly, adventurers, come.
- 6:08SPEAKER_01: We must go into my house.
- 6:09SPEAKER_01: I'll tell you more about this soon.
- 6:12SPEAKER_04: Do we trust this man?
- 6:14SPEAKER_04: Oh, I guess so.
- 6:15SPEAKER_04: Oh, apparently we do.
- 6:17SPEAKER_01: Sorry, sorry.
- 6:18SPEAKER_04: Okay, I don't trust this man.
- 6:22SPEAKER_04: Okay, we're in his house now.
- 6:24SPEAKER_04: Alright.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: Y'all dash into the house, and the gnome gnome mayor breathes over, breathes heavily over his knees.
- 6:35SPEAKER_01: Out of breath.
- 6:37SPEAKER_01: I'm so sorry to track y'all in here.
- 6:39SPEAKER_01: Um a terrible affliction has long since overcome knock knock.
- 6:45SPEAKER_01: Normally we try to guard it so adventurers don't how do I put this?
- 6:52SPEAKER_01: Don't die.
- 6:53SPEAKER_01: But everyone who's gone to that manor has not come back alive.
- 6:56SPEAKER_01: We wanted to avoid the same fate for y'all, but something has happened.
- 7:01SPEAKER_01: Something ominous.
- 7:03SPEAKER_01: Would y'all please investigate for us?
- 7:06SPEAKER_04: Sure.
- 7:08SPEAKER_04: I mean, I guess.
- 7:10SPEAKER_02: Well, I mean, like kind of compensation.
- 7:16SPEAKER_04: Yeah, like what's in it for me?
- 7:18SPEAKER_01: So the no mayor, after he is after he's wringing his hands in desperation.
- 7:24SPEAKER_01: Uh well, we are a humble town, but let me see if I can scrounge up some money.
- 7:32SPEAKER_01: He goes over to his work table and opens a chest, and you see, you see, uh, much to your surprise, a vast amount of gold.
- 7:43SPEAKER_01: He's obviously lying to you.
- 7:46SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 7:47SPEAKER_04: Humble town, you say, huh?
- 7:50SPEAKER_02: Those coffers look quite swollen.
- 7:55SPEAKER_01: The mayor slams down the chest and looks over uh meekly.
- 7:59SPEAKER_01: Pardon.
- 8:00SPEAKER_01: Um, we'll give you what you owe.
- 8:04SPEAKER_01: And he lowers his shoulders into feet.
- 8:07SPEAKER_01: And he brings back a hefty bag of gold.
- 8:12SPEAKER_01: Would this suffice, adventurous?
- 8:16SPEAKER_02: Maybe what you got in that garden out there.
- 8:20SPEAKER_01: Uh jalapenos, berries, different things.
- 8:29SPEAKER_01: Uh, if you want something for my garden as well, maybe to flavor your food, of course.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: We're eager to eager and tire in need of your help.
- 8:37SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I could take some jalapenos, that'd be great.
- 8:39SPEAKER_04: Jalapanos cool.
- 8:43SPEAKER_01: As the uh gnome mayor walks away, you hear him mutter under his breath, greedy adventurers.
- 8:55SPEAKER_04: Listen, man, he doesn't understand how great creamy jalapeno dip is.
- 8:59SPEAKER_02: No, for real.
- 9:00SPEAKER_02: We're just shaking down the pair.
- 9:03SPEAKER_01: He doesn't get it.
- 9:04SPEAKER_01: He doesn't get it.
- 9:05SPEAKER_02: He just doesn't.
- 9:06SPEAKER_02: He will when we bring him some.
- 9:11SPEAKER_04: We'll see how he if we survive that.
- 9:16SPEAKER_01: Y'all follow him out to the outside of the uh town again.
- 9:25SPEAKER_01: And he uh starts rooting through his um rooting through his garden, nervously looking up at the blood moon above him.
- 9:34SPEAKER_01: Suddenly, from the north, you see uh shambling masses come into the town.
- 9:42SPEAKER_01: Shambling masses of flesh, uh zombies.
- 9:45SPEAKER_04: Oh zombies, got it.
- 9:47SPEAKER_04: Oh gosh, okay.
- 9:53SPEAKER_02: Um, they're there.
- 9:59SPEAKER_01: The zombies scream in unison, um, as if they're connected by a hive mind and slowly start to dash towards you.
- 10:08SPEAKER_01: Roll for initiative, everyone.
- 10:11SPEAKER_06: Oh my god.
- 10:12SPEAKER_01: So how do I hold on, I'll walk you, I'll walk y'all through it.
- 10:17SPEAKER_04: Um so stop panicking.
- 10:21SPEAKER_04: There's zombies.
- 10:24SPEAKER_01: Initiative should be equal to your dexterity modifier, unless you have a boost, which I don't think y'all do for me all's character sheets.
- 10:32SPEAKER_01: So we're just gonna do uh backslash roll 1d20 plus your initiative, which is on your character sheet.
- 10:45SPEAKER_05: Megan, you forgot your proficiency.
- 10:49SPEAKER_05: I don't know what I'm doing.
- 10:51SPEAKER_05: I'm just hitting buttons.
- 10:57SPEAKER_05: Your initiative is plus three, I think.
- 11:02SPEAKER_05: Okay, so is it showing you what I rolled?
- 11:06SPEAKER_05: It did.
- 11:07SPEAKER_05: You rolled a seventeen.
- 11:09SPEAKER_05: Um but you rolled twenty twenty.
- 11:13SPEAKER_05: So you backslash roll one twenty plus three.
- 11:20SPEAKER_04: Okay, I had to open the advanced settings.
- 11:31SPEAKER_05: Uh the channel is put it on the unroll twenty.
- 11:47SPEAKER_02: It's like do you see the little toolbar at the top that has like the the little um art palette and uh and the paper and like the bull and the stereo.
- 12:02SPEAKER_05: Yeah, so it's gonna be under the little chat bubble.
- 12:07SPEAKER_05: Yeah, the each bubble.
- 12:11SPEAKER_05: Why have you been typing?
- 12:14SPEAKER_05: I haven't been typing.
- 12:16SPEAKER_04: You'll see what I'm doing in the recording.
- 12:19SPEAKER_04: I was like, how did you roll?
- 12:21SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 12:22SPEAKER_04: No, because if you go to the other side, there's like a little dice icon on the left menu.
- 12:27SPEAKER_02: I see, I see what you're talking about.
- 12:28SPEAKER_02: Um, well, uh, we need you to say this because I got a four.
- 12:34SPEAKER_04: Okay, wait, okay, hang on, wait, what am I typing?
- 12:38SPEAKER_01: So you're gonna do back slash um roll and then space one plus three.
- 12:53SPEAKER_04: I got a six.
- 12:56SPEAKER_01: Oh goodness.
- 12:57SPEAKER_01: Well, let's see if the zombies do any better.
- 13:03SPEAKER_02: Oh, they're gonna take our jalapenos.
- 13:07SPEAKER_01: Not the jalapenos.
- 13:08SPEAKER_04: Has the mayor given us our jalapenos yet?
- 13:11SPEAKER_04: Um, the mayor is frozen in fear right now.
- 13:18SPEAKER_04: The mayor has jalapenos.
- 13:21SPEAKER_01: No, unfortunately not.
- 13:22SPEAKER_01: He's frozen in fear holding the jalapenos.
- 13:25SPEAKER_05: Oh my god.
- 13:26SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 13:29SPEAKER_05: Damn, I want a jalapenos.
- 13:32SPEAKER_01: Okay, so the zombies are going to move as one.
- 13:37SPEAKER_01: Um, since they apparently have connected by a hive mind.
- 13:41SPEAKER_01: And they're gonna go first.
- 13:44SPEAKER_03: Oh great.
- 13:46SPEAKER_01: Moving as one, they're going to let me see how many movement they have.
- 13:50SPEAKER_01: Twenty feet of movement.
- 13:53SPEAKER_01: They're gonna move one, two, three, or one, two, and one, two, three.
- 14:07SPEAKER_01: Uh alright.
- 14:09SPEAKER_01: One zombie is going to attack the mayor, which is unfortunate for him.
- 14:14SPEAKER_01: I did not expect him to be in combat, but you know, we're we're rolling.
- 14:21SPEAKER_01: The first zombie is going to attack.
- 14:25SPEAKER_04: It's gonna the first one.
- 14:28SPEAKER_01: Uh this one right here.
- 14:32SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 14:32SPEAKER_04: Ah, okay.
- 14:34SPEAKER_04: Thank you.
- 14:35SPEAKER_07: Of course.
- 14:36SPEAKER_01: This one is going to attack, it's gonna use a uh raise his fist up and slam his fist into the um the mayor.
- 14:47SPEAKER_01: Oh wait.
- 14:48SPEAKER_01: So it's gonna be luckily our mayor is very sturdy.
- 14:52SPEAKER_04: Oh well, that's good because he has my jalapenos.
- 14:57SPEAKER_04: Our jalapenos.
- 14:59SPEAKER_01: Alright.
- 15:00SPEAKER_04: So sorry, our jalapenos.
- 15:02SPEAKER_04: We'll put them fairly.
- 15:04SPEAKER_01: As the zombie raises his fuss up, fists up and makes a clumsy swing at the uh zombie, at the mayor, uh the mayor quickly quickly dodges out of the way, holding the jalapenos tightly to his chest.
- 15:17SPEAKER_01: Don't worry, adventurers, I have your reward safe.
- 15:21SPEAKER_01: Um, then the s other two zombies are going to attack Jen.
- 15:25SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 15:27SPEAKER_04: You got this.
- 15:28SPEAKER_04: I super believe in you, Todd Cooper.
- 15:30SPEAKER_02: Do I have to do anything or do I just take the do I take the hit?
- 15:34SPEAKER_01: So, how's this gonna work?
- 15:36SPEAKER_01: Is they're gonna make an attack against you.
- 15:39SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 15:39SPEAKER_01: Um if that attack is more than your armor class, you get hit, and then I roll for damage and you subtract that damage away from your health.
- 15:47SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 15:48SPEAKER_01: If um the roll is less than your armor class, you dodge or block the attack.
- 15:53SPEAKER_01: So, depending on how you want to flavor it, and then you take no damage.
- 15:58SPEAKER_02: Okay, cool.
- 15:59SPEAKER_01: We're gonna do 1d 20 for the first zombie.
- 16:05SPEAKER_01: Um, so your AC is 13.
- 16:14SPEAKER_01: 13.
- 16:15SPEAKER_01: So that zombie misses.
- 16:18SPEAKER_01: 1D twenty thing.
- 16:23SPEAKER_01: Oh so that one does it.
- 16:25SPEAKER_01: That one does it.
- 16:27SPEAKER_01: You took four damage, the zombies are all all going first.
- 16:33SPEAKER_01: Um, the mayor is uh pacifist and will be going last.
- 16:40SPEAKER_01: Megan, you're up next.
- 16:42SPEAKER_04: Okay, what am I doing?
- 16:44SPEAKER_01: On your turn, you have um your character has some movement.
- 16:50SPEAKER_01: 25 feet of movement.
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: Every square is five feet.
- 16:56SPEAKER_01: So you can move up to five squares.
- 16:58SPEAKER_01: Um, you can make a melee attack if you want, or since you're a spellcaster, you cast a spell.
- 17:06SPEAKER_05: So I'm gonna move.
- 17:10SPEAKER_05: One, two, three.
- 17:13SPEAKER_04: I'll move there.
- 17:15SPEAKER_04: I will cast ice knife.
- 17:19SPEAKER_01: Ooh, nice.
- 17:21SPEAKER_04: Cool.
- 17:23SPEAKER_01: So do you have the spell on hand?
- 17:26SPEAKER_01: You might need to look it up real quick.
- 17:28SPEAKER_04: Uh I probably have to look it up.
- 17:31SPEAKER_04: Spells, spell, spells.
- 17:32SPEAKER_04: Here we go.
- 17:33SPEAKER_01: Druid spells.
- 17:36SPEAKER_01: And it should be a first level spell.
- 17:40SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 17:40SPEAKER_04: First level spell.
- 17:42SPEAKER_04: First level ice knife.
- 17:43SPEAKER_04: Okay, here we go.
- 17:45SPEAKER_04: Uh, you create a shard of ice and fling out one creature within range, make a ranged spell attack against the target.
- 17:52SPEAKER_04: On a hit, the target takes one d10 piercing damage.
- 17:56SPEAKER_04: Hit or miss, the shard then explodes.
- 17:58SPEAKER_04: The target in each creature within five feet of the point where the ice exploded must succeed on a dexterity saving throw or take two d6 cold damage.
- 18:09SPEAKER_04: There, I'll go back.
- 18:10SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 18:12SPEAKER_04: What now?
- 18:15SPEAKER_01: Okay, so your melee spell attack bonus is plus five.
- 18:21SPEAKER_01: So you're gonna do one uh backslash roll one d20 plus five onto the zombies, and we're gonna base uh compare it to that zombie's AC.
- 18:32SPEAKER_04: Plus five, okay.
- 18:37SPEAKER_01: Oh, nice.
- 18:38SPEAKER_01: Uh dirty 20.
- 18:40SPEAKER_01: So that zombie uh takes the hit and is going to take so a hefty point, a hefty point of damage.
- 18:56SPEAKER_01: That zombie is very bloody now.
- 18:58SPEAKER_01: So if you just whichever one you want to target, right click it and then do ping everyone.
- 19:06SPEAKER_04: Well, I'll do that one because it's closer.
- 19:09SPEAKER_04: There we go.
- 19:10unknown: Cool.
- 19:16SPEAKER_01: Never mind that jump right there too.
- 19:20SPEAKER_01: So everyone within uh five feet is gonna have to make a dexterity saving throw.
- 19:27SPEAKER_01: So Jen, your dexterity is uh saving throw.
- 19:33SPEAKER_01: You're proficient in it.
- 19:34SPEAKER_01: You're gonna do one D20 plus four.
- 19:37SPEAKER_06: One D20 plus backslash roll one D20 plus four.
- 19:47SPEAKER_06: Woo.
- 19:50SPEAKER_01: And then you have to beat a 13.
- 19:54SPEAKER_02: I got a 24.
- 19:57SPEAKER_01: Perfect.
- 19:57SPEAKER_01: So you pass successfully.
- 20:00SPEAKER_02: Yay.
- 20:02SPEAKER_01: So you just take you take no damage.
- 20:06SPEAKER_01: Cool.
- 20:07SPEAKER_01: So now the zombies are going to roll, and then the mayor.
- 20:11SPEAKER_01: So I oh you got a nat 20, damn.
- 20:13SPEAKER_01: You dodged that expertly.
- 20:16SPEAKER_04: Well, she just reconnected, she knew well what I was about to do, and then she just jumped out of the way.
- 20:23SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 20:24SPEAKER_01: Of course.
- 20:28SPEAKER_02: For the jalapeno.
- 20:30SPEAKER_04: So this for the gelopinos.
- 20:36SPEAKER_05: One twenty.
- 20:41SPEAKER_01: Let's go to the dexterity is minus two.
- 20:49SPEAKER_01: Uh I have too many times I've been.
- 20:54SPEAKER_01: Minus two.
- 20:57SPEAKER_01: Okay, so first zombie, this one, fails.
- 21:03SPEAKER_01: So he's gonna take two d six cold damage.
- 21:12SPEAKER_01: One d twenty six.
- 21:18SPEAKER_01: Four.
- 21:19SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 21:20SPEAKER_01: So this zombie takes four damage.
- 21:23SPEAKER_01: And then this zombie is going to roll.
- 21:34SPEAKER_01: Oh that one does pass.
- 21:36SPEAKER_01: So this one passed, so it takes no damage, and then the mayor, unfortunately for him.
- 21:44SPEAKER_01: So it's gonna be one d twenty plus.
- 21:49SPEAKER_01: One.
- 21:51SPEAKER_01: Oh, he takes he takes two d6 damage.
- 21:57SPEAKER_01: Let's see how much health he has.
- 21:59SPEAKER_01: Oh good.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: Goodness gracious.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: I hope this doesn't kill the man.
- 22:09SPEAKER_05: Um two D6.
- 22:15SPEAKER_05: Oh.
- 22:17SPEAKER_01: So unfortunately, as the ice knife pierces the first zombie, you see the zombie stagger back, and then the ice knife embedded within it explodes.
- 22:30SPEAKER_01: Both uh one zombie taking hefty damage and the other zombie dodging out of the way.
- 22:36SPEAKER_01: Unfortunately, the mayor, since he was so preoccupied holding the jalapenos, took the full brunt of the explosion and dies.
- 22:44SPEAKER_04: Um, my bad, y'all.
- 22:46SPEAKER_04: Yo, we killed the mayor.
- 22:49SPEAKER_01: We killed the mayor.
- 22:51SPEAKER_04: Well, I guess we can take all of his jalapenos now.
- 22:56SPEAKER_02: Well, let's take rid of the zombies first.
- 23:00SPEAKER_02: And then we'll loot the garden.
- 23:02SPEAKER_01: Um, that was Megan's turn, so now it is your turn, Jen.
- 23:07SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 23:08SPEAKER_02: How smart are these zombies?
- 23:11SPEAKER_01: They are extremely dumb.
- 23:14SPEAKER_02: How how how dumb?
- 23:17SPEAKER_02: Like the number.
- 23:20SPEAKER_01: They have a three for intelligence.
- 23:23SPEAKER_01: And it can understand the languages it knew in life, but cannot speak.
- 23:29SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 23:30SPEAKER_02: I'm going to cast dissonant whispers.
- 23:36SPEAKER_01: Six.
- 23:37SPEAKER_01: Let me look up that spell real quick.
- 23:40SPEAKER_01: Ooh.
- 23:43SPEAKER_01: Cool.
- 23:44SPEAKER_01: So it's gonna oh my gosh.
- 23:46SPEAKER_01: Which one are you targeting?
- 23:48SPEAKER_02: The one that's coming at me.
- 23:49SPEAKER_02: The I think it's this one that has like the that didn't take no damage.
- 23:53SPEAKER_02: I think it's this one.
- 23:55SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 23:56SPEAKER_01: So this one is gonna make a wisdom saving throw.
- 24:00SPEAKER_01: Unfortunately for it, it is not that wise.
- 24:05SPEAKER_01: So that is a it rolled a five, with so it failed at save, so it's gonna take um 3d6 points of psychic damage.
- 24:15SPEAKER_04: Woo!
- 24:16SPEAKER_01: Which is a lot.
- 24:17SPEAKER_01: Nice.
- 24:19SPEAKER_02: Look at you go, girl.
- 24:22SPEAKER_05: Nice.
- 24:23SPEAKER_02: 11 damage.
- 24:25SPEAKER_05: Alright.
- 24:26SPEAKER_05: Good turn.
- 24:29SPEAKER_02: For our listeners, dissonant whispers cast a discordant melody to one of the creatures of my choice within range, and it it racks it with terrible pain.
- 24:39SPEAKER_01: Very cool, very cool.
- 24:42SPEAKER_01: Alright, so that was your turn.
- 24:45SPEAKER_01: So it is now the zombie's turn.
- 24:49SPEAKER_01: This zombie is going to look at Meg and then start to move.
- 24:56SPEAKER_01: Since it moved out of your range of control, you can make an attack against that gen.
- 25:01SPEAKER_01: So just uh roll like a melee attack.
- 25:04SPEAKER_02: Okay, how do I roll a melee attack?
- 25:08SPEAKER_01: So it should be you have a short sword.
- 25:12SPEAKER_01: So it should be 1d uh backslash roll 1d20 plus 2.
- 25:22SPEAKER_06: 8.
- 25:24SPEAKER_01: Nice.
- 25:25SPEAKER_01: That takes half the damage.
- 25:29SPEAKER_01: And it's going to continue moving over to Meg.
- 25:32SPEAKER_01: And then these two are going to attack you.
- 25:36SPEAKER_01: So Meg, you're gonna take one zombie is gonna try to hit you.
- 25:40SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 25:41SPEAKER_01: One do 20 plus three um.
- 25:49SPEAKER_01: So that's eight.
- 25:52SPEAKER_01: These zombies are terrible, my goodness.
- 25:54SPEAKER_01: So that attack misses you.
- 25:56SPEAKER_01: And then two zombies are going to attack.
- 26:01SPEAKER_06: Geez.
- 26:07SPEAKER_01: The first one misses.
- 26:09SPEAKER_07: Woo!
- 26:10SPEAKER_01: And then the second one G20.
- 26:16SPEAKER_01: Ooh, first one hit second one hits.
- 26:18SPEAKER_01: So you're gonna take four more damage.
- 26:22SPEAKER_02: Is that that one that I just made?
- 26:24SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna take four more damage.
- 26:27SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 26:29SPEAKER_01: Oh, yes.
- 26:29SPEAKER_01: Well, it's it's the one that you did dissonant whispers on, so it has beef with you, apparently.
- 26:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, clearly.
- 26:37SPEAKER_01: So into the zombie's turn, it is now Megan's turn.
- 26:40SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 26:42SPEAKER_04: I'll cast Thunder Wave.
- 26:45SPEAKER_01: Most excellent.
- 26:48SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 26:49SPEAKER_04: Um a wave of thunderous force sweeps out from you.
- 26:54SPEAKER_04: Each creature in a 15-foot cube originating from you must make a constitution saving throw.
- 27:00SPEAKER_04: On a failed save, a creature takes two d8 thunder damage and it pushed 10 feet away from you.
- 27:06SPEAKER_04: Oh.
- 27:07SPEAKER_04: On a successful save, the creature takes half as much much damage as it put.
- 27:13SPEAKER_01: Um, zombie is gonna roll a constitution saving throw.
- 27:18SPEAKER_01: Which it rolled 16.
- 27:21SPEAKER_01: So um, it does pass the spell save DC, so it's gonna take half of two d eight, was it?
- 27:33SPEAKER_04: Ah two d eight.
- 27:39SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 27:40SPEAKER_01: One D or two D eight.
- 27:45SPEAKER_01: Two D eight.
- 27:47SPEAKER_01: Dang.
- 27:48SPEAKER_01: So it's gonna take half of fifteen rounded up, so it's gonna be eight.
- 27:55SPEAKER_01: Eight damage.
- 27:57SPEAKER_01: Which is gonna be enough to kill.
- 28:01SPEAKER_04: So Which is gonna be enough to cut out just now.
- 28:05SPEAKER_01: Oh, that is gonna be enough to kill the zombie.
- 28:12SPEAKER_04: One down.
- 28:14SPEAKER_01: And then it's gonna get tossed ten feet away from you.
- 28:20SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 28:22SPEAKER_01: So so zombies do have a zombies do have a special ability.
- 28:29unknown: Of course.
- 28:30SPEAKER_02: Where they explode, don't they?
- 28:34SPEAKER_01: Undead.
- 28:35SPEAKER_01: No, unfortunately not.
- 28:37SPEAKER_01: If damage reduces a zombie to zero hit points, it must make a constitution saving throw with a DC of five plus the damage taken.
- 28:44SPEAKER_01: Unless that damage is radiant or from a critical hit.
- 28:47SPEAKER_01: On a success, the zombie drops to one hit points instead.
- 28:51SPEAKER_01: So I have to beat a 13 on this roll.
- 28:55SPEAKER_01: If I do not, it is per it is permanently dead.
- 28:57SPEAKER_06: Come on, four.
- 28:59SPEAKER_01: So I have to beat a eight.
- 29:04SPEAKER_01: I have to be a 13.
- 29:05SPEAKER_01: And it rolled an eight.
- 29:08SPEAKER_01: This zombie is perma dead as a blast of thunderous sound booms out of Meg's.
- 29:12SPEAKER_01: Out of Meg.
- 29:14SPEAKER_01: Um, you see the zombie thrown back and torn to shreds.
- 29:17SPEAKER_02: Yay!
- 29:20SPEAKER_04: Goodbye.
- 29:22SPEAKER_04: Goodbye.
- 29:23SPEAKER_04: One down, two to go.
- 29:24SPEAKER_01: Uh, Jen, it's your turn.
- 29:27SPEAKER_02: I can either do dissonant whispers, or I can do vicious mockery.
- 29:37SPEAKER_01: I mean, talk your shit, Jen.
- 29:41SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 29:43SPEAKER_02: We're gonna do vicious mockery.
- 29:45SPEAKER_02: I love it.
- 29:46SPEAKER_04: Bully those zombies.
- 29:51SPEAKER_02: Dumbass, hive mind ass bitches.
- 29:54SPEAKER_02: Can't even think for yourself.
- 29:55SPEAKER_04: You don't even have jalapenos.
- 29:57SPEAKER_02: No jalapeno having ass bitches.
- 30:01SPEAKER_01: Which which one are you targeting?
- 30:04SPEAKER_05: Uh the one that got beef with me.
- 30:07SPEAKER_01: Okay, so uh this one gotcha.
- 30:11SPEAKER_01: So what do uh what does this what does uh Vicious Mockery do again?
- 30:16SPEAKER_02: Uh yes.
- 30:18SPEAKER_02: Vicious Mockery unleashes a string of insults laced with subtle enchantments at a creature that I can see within range.
- 30:24SPEAKER_02: If the target can hear me, though it need not understand me, it must succeed on a wisdom-saving throw or take one d4 psychic damage and have a disadvantage on the next attack roll it makes before the end of its next turn.
- 30:37SPEAKER_01: Perfect.
- 30:38SPEAKER_01: Okay, so we're gonna roll.
- 30:41SPEAKER_01: If you want to roll your damage real quick.
- 30:43SPEAKER_01: Okay, so it's gonna be one D4.
- 30:46SPEAKER_01: And then I'm pretty sure.
- 30:50SPEAKER_01: Let me look at this up real quick.
- 30:52SPEAKER_01: But continue.
- 30:53SPEAKER_01: Just roll your damage.
- 30:55SPEAKER_06: Roll my one D4.
- 30:58SPEAKER_06: Four.
- 31:00SPEAKER_01: Nice.
- 31:03SPEAKER_01: So the one you have beef with is gonna take roll a change.
- 31:09SPEAKER_01: It's gonna roll wisdom saving throw.
- 31:13SPEAKER_01: And there's sorry, I I was supposed to roll a wisdom saving throw, and then you roll your damage.
- 31:19SPEAKER_01: So what since I messed up, we're just gonna say it failed.
- 31:23SPEAKER_01: And uh you it's gonna take four damage.
- 31:26SPEAKER_04: Woo! Nice.
- 31:29SPEAKER_04: That one's strong.
- 31:30SPEAKER_01: Alright.
- 31:33SPEAKER_01: Zombies are pretty beefy.
- 31:36SPEAKER_01: They're empowered by necrotic energy.
- 31:40SPEAKER_01: Alright, it is the zombie's turn.
- 31:43SPEAKER_01: This zombie is gonna take the disengage action and move five, ten, fifteen, twenty over to Meg.
- 31:55SPEAKER_01: And then this zombie that has beef with you is gonna um is gonna attack.
- 32:07SPEAKER_01: Um, we're going to roll us.
- 32:22SPEAKER_01: So what is your AC?
- 32:25SPEAKER_02: Thirteen.
- 32:27SPEAKER_01: So that does hit, so take four damage.
- 32:31SPEAKER_06: Gosh dang it.
- 32:36SPEAKER_06: Stupid zombie.
- 32:38SPEAKER_01: It is a stupid zombie.
- 32:41SPEAKER_01: Um, but thankfully the zombie is near death.
- 32:43SPEAKER_01: So uh Megan, it's your turn again.
- 32:46SPEAKER_01: Since the other zombie did the disengage action.
- 32:50SPEAKER_04: My turn.
- 32:51SPEAKER_04: Let's see here.
- 32:53SPEAKER_04: Can I cast Moon Beam?
- 32:57SPEAKER_01: Um, you can cast Yeah if you want.
- 33:03SPEAKER_04: Okay, I'll cast Moon Beam.
- 33:07SPEAKER_04: Okay, let me look up that screen.
- 33:09SPEAKER_04: Um, I can read it real quick.
- 33:11SPEAKER_04: I have it pulled up.
- 33:12SPEAKER_07: Yeah, okay.
- 33:14SPEAKER_04: Says a silvery beam of pale light shines down in a five-foot radius, 40-foot high cylinder, so turned on a point within range.
- 33:23SPEAKER_04: Use until the spell end or hello.
- 33:25SPEAKER_04: Until the spell ends, a dim light fills the cylinder.
- 33:28SPEAKER_04: When a creature enters the spell's area for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there, it is engulfed in ghostly flame that causes serious searing pain, and it must make a constitution saving throw.
- 33:41SPEAKER_04: It takes two d20 two d10 radiant damage on a fail save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
- 33:52SPEAKER_05: Perfect.
- 33:52SPEAKER_01: Okay, so that zombie's gonna roll a set radiant damage.
- 33:59SPEAKER_01: Ugh, gotta go back.
- 34:04SPEAKER_01: It is radiant damage.
- 34:05SPEAKER_01: So one of the homebrew rules I have um is radiant damage does like double damage against uh undead.
- 34:14SPEAKER_01: So if this does hit, it's gonna deal double damage.
- 34:18SPEAKER_01: So it rolled a 20 on its constitution saving throw, so it does pass, but since it's radiant damage, it's gonna deal uh normal damage.
- 34:27SPEAKER_01: So it's gonna do 2d10.
- 34:29SPEAKER_01: 16.
- 34:32SPEAKER_01: Oh, so close.
- 34:33SPEAKER_01: This thing is very near death right now.
- 34:36SPEAKER_01: Then I'm pretty sure you can.
- 34:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so on each of your turns, after you cast a spell, you can use an action to move it up to 60 feet in any direction.
- 34:47SPEAKER_01: So I can move it since it's yeah, it's a concentration spell.
- 34:52SPEAKER_01: So the way that works is you're concentrating on the spell.
- 34:57SPEAKER_01: Since you're concentrating on a spell, you can cast spells uh on your other turn, or you can move as an action move the concentrations concentrated spell 60 feet, since that's one of the perks of the spell.
- 35:10SPEAKER_01: However, if you cast another spell with concentration, that overwrites the spell you're concentrating on.
- 35:16SPEAKER_01: And if you get hit, then you have to roll a constitution saving throw to see if you can maintain concentration on the spell.
- 35:22SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 35:23SPEAKER_01: Uh top of the turn, no, bottom of the turn order, it's Jen.
- 35:27SPEAKER_01: It's your turn.
- 35:28SPEAKER_02: Alright, we're gonna do dissonant whispers again.
- 35:32SPEAKER_01: Perfect.
- 35:33SPEAKER_01: Which is a wisdom save, right?
- 35:36SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 35:38SPEAKER_04: Cool, dear lord.
- 35:39SPEAKER_04: What is your problem?
- 35:41SPEAKER_02: Uh I don't have jalopinos, and this zombie got beef with me.
- 35:46SPEAKER_04: I'm so sorry.
- 35:47SPEAKER_04: I was talking to my dog.
- 35:49SPEAKER_04: Can you hear her?
- 35:51SPEAKER_04: No.
- 35:52SPEAKER_01: Okay, so that zombie fails its wisdom.
- 35:58SPEAKER_01: What was the damage on dissonant whispers, real quick?
- 36:01SPEAKER_02: Um, 3d6 damage.
- 36:04SPEAKER_01: Alright, so it failed its wisdom saving throw.
- 36:09SPEAKER_01: So we're gonna roll 3d6 damage.
- 36:13SPEAKER_01: 8.
- 36:14SPEAKER_01: Perfect.
- 36:15SPEAKER_01: As you unleash a torrent of psychic energy at the at the zombie, it grasps its mind and like reels reels back, falling to its knees.
- 36:24SPEAKER_01: You have killed it, but let's see if it comes back to life.
- 36:27SPEAKER_01: So it also has to be the 13, because 8 plus 5.
- 36:30SPEAKER_01: So 28 plus 3.
- 36:35SPEAKER_01: So it does pass its wisdom saving throw, so it's gonna it does pass its constitution saving throw, so it's gonna come back to life with one hit point.
- 36:43SPEAKER_01: Top of the turn order, it's gonna be the zombie's turn.
- 36:46SPEAKER_01: This zombie's gonna make an attack against you, gen, and uh this zombie is gonna make an attack against Meg.
- 36:54SPEAKER_01: Starting with the zombie by Gen.
- 36:56SPEAKER_01: Alright, that zombie misses, and then the one by Meg.
- 37:01SPEAKER_01: That one also misses.
- 37:03SPEAKER_01: So, both zombies miss on their turns.
- 37:07SPEAKER_01: It is um Megan's turn.
- 37:12SPEAKER_01: So, since you're concentrating on Moonbeam and the zombie did not move out of it, uh, it's gonna take damage again.
- 37:21SPEAKER_01: It's gonna make a constitution saving throw.
- 37:24SPEAKER_04: Okie dokie.
- 37:26SPEAKER_01: 1d20.
- 37:30SPEAKER_01: There's three.
- 37:37SPEAKER_01: Alright, so it passes, so it's gonna take normal damage.
- 37:42SPEAKER_01: Zombies take double damage, but half that times two is normal damage.
- 37:48SPEAKER_01: One, two, done.
- 37:52SPEAKER_01: Eight.
- 37:53SPEAKER_01: So that is going to burn the zombie, and since it's radiant damage, it does not get a chance to come back to life.
- 38:01SPEAKER_01: Nice.
- 38:03SPEAKER_01: So that zombie is dead.
- 38:06SPEAKER_04: Bye bye.
- 38:08SPEAKER_01: Um nice.
- 38:10SPEAKER_04: Bye bye, zombie.
- 38:12SPEAKER_01: And then it comes your turn.
- 38:14SPEAKER_02: Alright, we're gonna just do vicious mockery.
- 38:19SPEAKER_02: Won't stay dead ass zombie ass motherfucker.
- 38:25SPEAKER_01: So wisdom saving throw.
- 38:29SPEAKER_01: For the zombie.
- 38:31SPEAKER_01: Birth of Zambie.
- 38:32SPEAKER_04: The Zambi.
- 38:37SPEAKER_05: For the Zamboni.
- 38:39SPEAKER_05: Not the Zamboni.
- 38:43SPEAKER_05: So it's gonna fail.
- 38:44SPEAKER_05: So it's gonna take psychic damage.
- 38:47SPEAKER_02: I wanna kill this fucker.
- 38:48SPEAKER_02: Watch me not get it.
- 38:49SPEAKER_02: Go crazy.
- 38:50SPEAKER_02: Well, I just need the one.
- 38:52unknown: Ha!
- 38:52SPEAKER_05: You got four!
- 38:58SPEAKER_01: So that does kill the zombie.
- 39:00SPEAKER_01: As you as you string a torrent of insults at it, you see the zombie's head inflate and then explode, and then it falls to it, it falls to the ground, dead.
- 39:10SPEAKER_02: What's in this garden?
- 39:11SPEAKER_02: Hey.
- 39:15SPEAKER_04: So where's the garden?
- 39:19SPEAKER_00: Y'all are on it.
- 39:20SPEAKER_04: Is the garden in the back?
- 39:22SPEAKER_04: No, we're on the garden.
- 39:23SPEAKER_00: No, y'all, y'all are.
- 39:24SPEAKER_00: You're all there in the garden.
- 39:25SPEAKER_04: Okay, cool.
- 39:26SPEAKER_04: I want to take half of his jalapenos.
- 39:30SPEAKER_01: So let's see, let's do a luck roll to see how many jalapenos are actually there.
- 39:36SPEAKER_01: And didn't get crushed by zombies.
- 39:40SPEAKER_02: The zombies were nowhere near the garden, though.
- 39:42SPEAKER_02: No, they killed the mare.
- 39:44SPEAKER_02: So technically the mare's body's in the garden.
- 39:46SPEAKER_02: Kinda.
- 39:47SPEAKER_04: We'll just go around the body, it's fine.
- 39:50SPEAKER_01: Okay, so y'all rolled pretty high on your luck.
- 39:52SPEAKER_01: So it looks like about three-quarters of the jalapenos remain untouched.
- 39:57SPEAKER_07: Woo.
- 39:59SPEAKER_07: Woohoo.
- 40:03SPEAKER_01: So the y'all collect your jalapenos.
- 40:08SPEAKER_01: Unfortunately, the mayor lies dead, but say love you.
- 40:13SPEAKER_02: Can we at least leave a flower on him?
- 40:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you can pick one of the flowers from the garden.
- 40:19SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 40:20SPEAKER_01: Yes, you can.
- 40:22SPEAKER_01: So as you lay a flower on the body of the mayor, you also run through his pockets.
- 40:31SPEAKER_04: I mean, he might be hiding something in his pockets.
- 40:33SPEAKER_04: We don't know.
- 40:36SPEAKER_01: That's true.
- 40:37SPEAKER_01: That's true.
- 40:37SPEAKER_01: You never know.
- 40:39SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 40:42SPEAKER_01: So, whoever is going through the pockets, investigation throw.
- 40:46SPEAKER_01: We're gonna roll an investigation check.
- 40:47SPEAKER_04: Do you want to find anything in his pockets?
- 40:48SPEAKER_01: If we'll do um so roll the investigation check real quick.
- 40:55SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 40:56SPEAKER_02: How do I do what do I do?
- 40:57SPEAKER_02: 1D what?
- 40:59SPEAKER_01: So it's um backslash roll one D20.
- 41:03SPEAKER_01: Um and then your investigation, which is on your character sheet.
- 41:08SPEAKER_01: Under your skill column.
- 41:11SPEAKER_04: Under my skills, investigation questions.
- 41:14SPEAKER_04: It's under intelligence.
- 41:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah, plus one.
- 41:17SPEAKER_01: Whoa! 19.
- 41:20SPEAKER_01: So y'all find y'all find a short sword, a club, and a sling, as well as uh 16 gold.
- 41:32SPEAKER_02: Nice.
- 41:33SPEAKER_02: Nice.
- 41:35SPEAKER_01: The mayor was really holding out on you.
- 41:38SPEAKER_02: Cheapskate.
- 41:40SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 41:43SPEAKER_01: Strangely enough, even though the uh sounds of battle just filled the village, no other villager seems to have come out to investigate.
- 41:53SPEAKER_01: It appears that this mayor was maybe one of the only gnomes left.
- 42:00SPEAKER_06: Aww.
- 42:01SPEAKER_01: So in in the distance, though, you see Cardin Manor um glowing ominously under the blood moon.
- 42:16SPEAKER_02: Time to head to the manor.
- 42:19SPEAKER_01: You can yeah, if you want, you can explore the town more, you can head to the manor.
- 42:24SPEAKER_02: Meg.
- 42:24SPEAKER_02: What do we want to do?
- 42:26SPEAKER_02: I say let's go see what this manor's about.
- 42:28SPEAKER_02: We got our jalapenos, we got our gold.
- 42:30SPEAKER_02: Um, I don't know.
- 42:32SPEAKER_02: Is there any way I can heal myself?
- 42:33SPEAKER_02: I'm kind of halfway.
- 42:35SPEAKER_01: Yes, so uh you can do sorry, let me break your interchange.
- 42:43SPEAKER_01: You can do um short rest, which um short rest you can use your hit dice to restore some of your health, and right now you have three d8 of hit dice.
- 42:56SPEAKER_01: If you use like one d8 to restore your health, you'd would just regain that much uh health, but you can use all three to regain all of them, but then you wouldn't have any until a long rest, unfortunately.
- 43:12SPEAKER_01: And um yeah, so your spell slots also recharge on a long rest.
- 43:20SPEAKER_01: So if y'all want to like take a f take a few hours just uh sleep in one of the homes, um and to regain all your spell slots, y'all can, or you can just do a short rest and regain some health and then move on straight to the manor, whatever you want to do.
- 43:37SPEAKER_02: Should we go back into the mayor's house and make some creamy jalapeno?
- 43:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah, let's do that.
- 43:42SPEAKER_02: Alright.
- 43:43SPEAKER_02: Okay, and do a rest.
- 43:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we'll do a manor tomorrow.
- 43:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 43:50SPEAKER_01: Alright.
- 43:50SPEAKER_02: We did a lot today.
- 43:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we deserve beefy zombies.
- 43:57SPEAKER_01: Sounds good.
- 43:58SPEAKER_01: As y'all enter the mayor's.
- 44:00SPEAKER_01: Home, you sound you see a uh that it's uh pretty well organized with some tinkering everywhere.
- 44:06SPEAKER_01: You see benches where various uh crafts are being made, a storage shed, and a table where you can make your creamy jalapeno dip.
- 44:16SPEAKER_04: Well, nice.
- 44:19SPEAKER_01: So uh time passes.
- 44:21SPEAKER_01: Y'all make your uh creamy jalapeno dip, you talk, you laugh, you recount uh tales of your previous life um before y'all met.
- 44:35SPEAKER_01: And it's about six hours past.
- 44:38SPEAKER_01: What would the party like to do?
- 44:41SPEAKER_01: So y'all can go to the uh manor, you can stay in town, you can do um yeah, whatever you want.
- 44:50SPEAKER_02: I want to get there.
- 44:51SPEAKER_05: Sounds good.
- 44:53SPEAKER_02: Can I get my healed?
- 44:56SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 44:57SPEAKER_05: Uh let me real quick.
- 45:02SPEAKER_05: There you go.
- 45:07SPEAKER_05: There you go.
- 45:09SPEAKER_05: So as we depart northward toward the town towards the north north.
- 45:14SPEAKER_05: Um to the edge.
- 45:17SPEAKER_05: You come to the edge of a great marsh.
- 45:22SPEAKER_04: I love a good marsh.
- 45:24SPEAKER_04: Marsh.
- 45:27SPEAKER_01: Marsh.
- 45:28SPEAKER_01: As y'all enter this fetid swamp, the swamp stretches for miles and contains the bodies of adventuries that have gotten lost in the mist and drowned in the waters.
- 45:38SPEAKER_01: Pale faces can be seen underneath the surface of the water, and when the party gets near to the water, the eyes open up, and you can hear spectral voices echoing through the dead air.
- 45:50SPEAKER_03: Oh, that's lovely.
- 45:54SPEAKER_02: What are they saying?
- 45:56SPEAKER_01: As y'all approach the waters, you can hear them saying, Come to us, come play.
- 46:03SPEAKER_01: The water is nice and deep.
- 46:08SPEAKER_00: Could y'all hear me?
- 46:09SPEAKER_02: I already yeah.
- 46:11SPEAKER_02: I already took a don't like what you're saying.
- 46:18SPEAKER_07: Um There could be gators in that water.
- 46:21SPEAKER_01: It could be gators, yeah.
- 46:24SPEAKER_01: As y'all start moving through the swamp, you see a flickering band of light ahead of y'all.
- 46:31SPEAKER_01: It seems to almost dance and move around.
- 46:35SPEAKER_01: Almost like the energy of a young child just flitting around, almost happily giggling.
- 46:42SPEAKER_03: A light?
- 46:44SPEAKER_01: Mm-hmm.
- 46:45SPEAKER_01: Like a flowing orb of a glowing a glowing orb of light.
- 46:48SPEAKER_03: Like a wisp?
- 46:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 46:53SPEAKER_02: Cute.
- 46:54SPEAKER_02: Interesting.
- 46:55SPEAKER_02: And I do a perception check on it.
- 46:58SPEAKER_05: Yes, you can.
- 47:04SPEAKER_06: Perception is going to be 1D20 plus my modifier.
- 47:12SPEAKER_01: Plus your perception modifier, yeah.
- 47:14SPEAKER_02: Oh.
- 47:15SPEAKER_06: 1D20 plus 4.
- 47:19SPEAKER_01: 22.
- 47:22SPEAKER_01: 22.
- 47:23SPEAKER_01: You can tell that this is a uh will-a wisp.
- 47:26SPEAKER_01: So um you can tell that it's trying to like lead y'all somewhere.
- 47:35SPEAKER_01: If y'all want to follow it.
- 47:37SPEAKER_03: Let's follow the wisp.
- 47:41SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 47:43SPEAKER_01: It slowly leads y'all.
- 47:48SPEAKER_04: Is that the wisp that you just highlighted?
- 47:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's moving.
- 47:52SPEAKER_01: It's slowly move it slowly to the water's edge and almost floats out over the water.
- 48:01SPEAKER_01: And floats out over the water.
- 48:03SPEAKER_01: And you hear uh you hear a uh the will-o-wis start to giggle and slowly morph into a horrific scream.
- 48:13SPEAKER_01: Oh it then dips below the water and above it, and as the as the uh waters part, it rises up.
- 48:27SPEAKER_01: A horrific looking zombie.
- 48:29SPEAKER_02: Oh god damn it, of course.
- 48:31SPEAKER_02: Of course, it's another zombie.
- 48:35SPEAKER_01: This zombie clasps its hands in front of its chest.
- 48:40SPEAKER_01: What brings you to these waters, adventurers?
- 48:43SPEAKER_01: Only the dead walk here.
- 48:46SPEAKER_01: This one can talk.
- 48:49SPEAKER_04: This is new.
- 48:50SPEAKER_04: This is new.
- 48:54SPEAKER_02: We're here to investigate the carted manor.
- 48:59SPEAKER_01: That manor has fed us dead for many a millennium.
- 49:03SPEAKER_01: Long has it existed through time and space immemorial, seemingly separate from the reality around it.
- 49:14SPEAKER_01: But why why do you want to investigate it?
- 49:21SPEAKER_01: Can you not see that the blood moon is above us?
- 49:24SPEAKER_01: Can you not see me it is a time of rejoicing, for the dead will walk among the living?
- 49:29SPEAKER_02: Uh, I think we saw some of your buddies back in the the village of Nock Knock.
- 49:34SPEAKER_01: Uh yes, the scouts.
- 49:36SPEAKER_01: I'm guessing they met an untimely end.
- 49:39SPEAKER_01: Uh by your hand, perhaps.
- 49:43SPEAKER_02: Uh I don't uh um perhaps.
- 49:47SPEAKER_01: I see, I see.
- 49:49SPEAKER_01: Well, oh the dead will rise eventually again.
- 49:54SPEAKER_01: If you want passage through these woods, my will-o' wisp will guide you.
- 50:01SPEAKER_01: But you must you must bring back a treasure to me.
- 50:05SPEAKER_01: Otherwise, I will hunt you down.
- 50:09SPEAKER_06: What kind of treasure do you like?
- 50:13SPEAKER_01: Deep within the carded manor, there lies a great evil.
- 50:20SPEAKER_01: I want a piece of that evil brought back to me.
- 50:25SPEAKER_01: Be it an arm, a finger, a leg, a head, I want a piece of it so I may simulate its evil within my body and grow in necrotic energy.
- 50:34SPEAKER_04: What do you mean by great evil?
- 50:41SPEAKER_01: Well, do you see the cardin manor, how it lies in disrepair?
- 50:48SPEAKER_01: It was once a thriving manor, until the father, James Cardid, started to dabble in evil magics, and then slowly corrupted everything around it.
- 51:02SPEAKER_01: In fact, this used to be a thriving waterway where ships would go through and trade with the village of Nocknock.
- 51:10SPEAKER_01: But alas, the corruption spread all throughout the land, around the surrounding lands.
- 51:19SPEAKER_01: And only the dead remember now.
- 51:22SPEAKER_04: That's why the mayor was so greedy.
- 51:26SPEAKER_04: Makes sense.
- 51:32SPEAKER_01: What a great travesty.
- 51:33SPEAKER_01: I assume he's dead.
- 51:35SPEAKER_01: This mayor did not want to share his jalap his bountiful harvest of jalapenos with us.
- 51:41SPEAKER_01: The undead.
- 51:43SPEAKER_01: What I love more than anything, more than necrotic evil, is jalapenos.
- 51:48SPEAKER_01: I have not had creamy jalapeno dip in long since ages pass.
- 51:52SPEAKER_04: Well, Dang, you want some?
- 51:53SPEAKER_04: I got some.
- 51:55SPEAKER_04: We can share.
- 51:56SPEAKER_01: I would love some.
- 51:57SPEAKER_01: You see the undead levitate out of the water, swirling shadows form around him as he snaps his fingers, and suddenly a huge picnic blanket emerges on the ground and he sits down.
- 52:11SPEAKER_01: Young adventurers bequeath unto me the creamy jalapeno dip.
- 52:15SPEAKER_04: Give him the dip, give him the dip.
- 52:18SPEAKER_04: But like, I feel like the picnic blanket's trap.
- 52:21SPEAKER_04: Well, don't get on the blanket, just give him the dip.
- 52:24SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I'll give him the dip.
- 52:25SPEAKER_04: I give him the dip, but I just set a little like mason jar of it on the blanket.
- 52:31SPEAKER_04: I don't actually step on the blanket itself.
- 52:34unknown: Okay.
- 52:37SPEAKER_01: You see uh you see the undead master snap his fingers, and more uh zombies rise up out of the water and crawl forward until they hold a um holding out what appears to be chips made of human skin.
- 52:54SPEAKER_04: You know what?
- 52:55SPEAKER_04: I'm actually full, so like just enjoy it.
- 52:59SPEAKER_01: Ah, well, undead delicacies are sometimes shunned by the mortal tastes.
- 53:05SPEAKER_01: I understand.
- 53:07SPEAKER_01: But I must insist, it is only courtesy.
- 53:12SPEAKER_01: He gives you a wicked grin and holds out the flesh chips towards you.
- 53:15SPEAKER_02: I'm lactose intolerant.
- 53:22SPEAKER_01: Ah, I understand.
- 53:24SPEAKER_01: The afflictions of the flesh.
- 53:26SPEAKER_01: Well, more for me.
- 53:27SPEAKER_01: He's gonna pour out some of the creamy jalapeno dip on the flesh chips and eat it.
- 53:32SPEAKER_01: And you see him chewing up the flesh chips through his uh torn jaw, his torn cheek.
- 53:40SPEAKER_01: Ah, what a delightful flavor.
- 53:44SPEAKER_01: Well, since you offered me such courtesy, I should offer you courtesy back.
- 53:50SPEAKER_01: My undead will guide you through this swamp.
- 53:53SPEAKER_01: Fear not, they will not attack you unless provoked.
- 53:57SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 53:59SPEAKER_01: And if you would be so kind, bring back a memento of that great evil.
- 54:08SPEAKER_04: A memento.
- 54:10SPEAKER_04: Yeah, he wants like a fingernail thing, remember?
- 54:14SPEAKER_02: I thought he wanted a I thought the jalapeno dip was gonna suffice.
- 54:20SPEAKER_01: Ah, that sues my uh hunger cravings, but not my cravings for power.
- 54:27SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay.
- 54:31SPEAKER_01: But since we're all friends here, I'm sure that won't be such a gross request.
- 54:37SPEAKER_02: No, man, not at all.
- 54:40SPEAKER_01: Ah, wonderful, wonderful.
- 54:44SPEAKER_01: He uh procures a uh grimy and rotted jar, pours some of the jalapeno dip from your jar into it, screws on the lid, and says, Well, I will return to my slumber with this creamy jalapeno dip in tow.
- 55:01SPEAKER_01: Follow the undead, and they will lead you to the manor.
- 55:06SPEAKER_03: Have a good sleep, my guy.
- 55:08SPEAKER_03: Matty night.
- 55:10SPEAKER_03: Enjoy the dead.
- 55:14SPEAKER_01: He's gonna ominously levitate and float back towards the water, sinking into the water without even disturbing it, without even a ripple.
- 55:23SPEAKER_02: Nice guy.
- 55:24SPEAKER_04: Yeah, nice guy.
- 55:27SPEAKER_01: The I love DD.
- 55:32SPEAKER_01: The uh the zombies look confused for a second and then make a follow motion and start to move towards it, move through the undergrowth on all fours.
- 55:45SPEAKER_02: I guess let's get down with them.
- 55:48SPEAKER_04: Okay, yeah, we crawl along the forest.
- 55:51SPEAKER_04: Or sorry, the marsh floor.
- 55:53SPEAKER_01: Alright, all six of y'all, there's four zombies, all six of y'all start to bear crawl through the woods.
- 56:01SPEAKER_01: Multiple mosquitoes and different discs of debris get in your hair and like in your clothes as you drift and sift through the marsh until you come upon a great manor.
